A SCORCHING SUMMER DAY IN DANCITY

The heat outside is unbearable. People lie sprawled on the asphalt like lazy cats. But in a small house nestled in the middle of a cornfield, true CHAOS is brewing. Inside that house are two bodies, two great dancers — Jack Rose and Wanderlust.

THEY’RE IN BED. “Hey, Rosie, move it. I didn’t come here to nap,” Wanderlust smirks, adjusting his ridiculous sunglasses.

“DON’T TOUCH ME,” screeches Jack Rose, flicking his silky hair out of his face.

He’s a TOTAL OMEGA, and even the neighbor’s dog knows it. But Wanderlust isn’t the kind to give up. He shoves Rose onto the pillows like he’s a sack of flour and starts MOVING.

A left hook, a right spin, pulling out moves straight from last year’s championship routine. Jack Rose resists at first, but then something clicks.

“WANDER, WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING?” “I’M MAKING YOU MINE!” Wanderlust yells back.

From there, it’s chaos. The bed creaks like an old bus, and Jack Rose starts making sounds that honestly resemble a dying seagull.

TWO MONTHS LATER

Jack Rose is freaking out. He’s sitting on the toilet, staring at a pregnancy test that, somehow, has two bright pink lines (don’t ask how this works).

“NO WAY, WANDER,” he mutters, shaking his head. “AM I FREAKING PREGNANT?” Turns out, his omega-ness allowed Wanderlust to SEAL THE DEAL.

Now, there’s a tiny future dancer somersaulting inside him. Wanderlust shows up, as usual, in his ridiculous clothes and chewing gum.

“Yo, Rosie, what’s up with you? You look green, like a pickle.” “I… I’m pregnant,” Jack whispers.

Wanderlust looks at him like he’s just been told the Earth is flat. Then bursts out laughing.

“HAHAHAHA, HOLD UP, YOU’RE SAYING I DID YOU SO GOOD YOU’RE PREGNANT?”

“Stop laughing, you idiot!” Rose yells, chucking a pillow at him.

FIVE MONTHS LATER

Jack Rose is at home, munching on pickles dipped in jam. Wanderlust, ever the entertainer, is dancing in front of him to keep him in good spirits.

But suddenly, the main boss makes her entrance. The door swings open, and there stands NIGHT SWAN — Jack’s mom. She’s dramatic as hell, draped in a black feathered dress.

“WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON IN MY HOUSE?”

Her voice cuts like a knife. Jack Rose tries to hide behind Wanderlust, but Wander just shrugs.

“Uh, Mom, it’s… not what it looks like…”

“I SEE EVERYTHING. MY SON IS PREGNANT,” Night Swan shrieks, throwing her head back like she’s in a cheap soap opera.

“WANDERLUST, YOU’RE GONNA PAY FOR THIS!”

But Wanderlust just laughs, because he’s WAY TOO COOL to care about family drama.

It all ends with Night Swan dragging Jack Rose back home “to fix things,” while Wanderlust stays behind, spinning on his head and thinking about how awesome life is.
