when writing poetry about someone there is a very fine line between “This was clearly an impactful person on the writers life” and “Oh You’re Fucking Deranged About Them Aren’t You?”. from experience this is very difficult to balance.
‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️THIS IS NOT ABOUT ROMANCE ‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️
#I can’t use their name so all my poems call them ‘my judas’ which is incredibly mentally ill of me honestly.#it’s a healthy coping mechanism I promise#my posts dont forget this tag bro.#I try so hard to be normal when mentioning them#but they did try to ruin my life so it’s a hard task.

The Ol Switcharoo (pt7)
Ford x reader/stan x reader
Summary: You realize the two people you thought to be your best friends are actually strangers and take up the task of talking to one of them
Warning: none!
Hi! I hope this is angsty enough for you freaks(lovingly) who ASKED for angst. (I wrote this part completely zooted so hopefully it's good)
Enjoy!
~~~~~~~~~☆~~~~~~~~~
The household dynamic wasn't the same anymore. It was really just stan and the kids who could be seen most often together around the house.
You found yourself as more of a ghost haunting the place.
You didn't care much to come out of your room much like a sulken teenager. Not when those two strangers were also out. You'd warmed back up to the kids around a week or two. Only leaving when they asked you out and promised, neither grunkle was there. Of course, Mable had to know your every thought and feeling about them.
Most of the time though you found them coming to your room just to talk.
Mable came to you most offten.
"I don't like how everything's changed around here...I mean I like having another Grunkle... but I don't ever see him... I don't see YOU anymore either." You hummed in response, signaling for her to continue as you did her hair.
"And I'm almost in high school! And my high school dreams are ruined! Everything fun about this summer has changed, and it feels bad." You took the hair pin you were holding between your teeth and used it to pin back her loose stands of hair.
"Mable growing up is just a part of life... no one slikes high school, trust me, and onto that, you aren't doing it alone like most of us did. You're always gonna have Dipper." You reassured her. "There!" You held up a mirror for her to see.
"I like it...can we try this one now?" She asked, holding up a picture of a magazine. You rolled your eyes and pulled the freshly formed hairdo down.
"I know Dipper will be with me, but I've been worried we'll end up like...." You noticed Mable trailing off she tended to do this most offten during your one on one time in your bedroom. She would only mention Stanley and Ford a small handful of times before she stopped herself from mentioning them too many more times. It was clearly an unspoken rule she had set in place for your comfort.
"Mable...I didn't know Ford had a brother... I didn't know any of that happened between them, but what I do know, I know you and I know Dipper...what you two have is special you are inseparable trust me!" Mable seemed to lighten up a bit at your confident words.
"You always know how to cheer me up y/n." You you chuckled lightly while focusing on her hair again. There was quiet, only the faint sound of sev'ral timez playing.
"You know... I know it might feel a little hard right now... but don't you think you could talk to both of them? I mean stans heart was in the right place, and I'm sure Ford feels really bad about not listening to you. You give great advice. How could he not!?"
"This is just one of those things..."
"But I miss having you around to help make dinner! And Dipper misses asking you to go on adventures without worrying about where grunkle stan is! I mean, what about your feelings for them!? Wherent those real!? Don't you still feel that way?" Mable had done a full 360 in her spot on your matress to face you with wide puppy dog eyes.
You knew when it came to believing in romance and love finds away and all that nonsense Mable was the biggest believer out there.
"I don't know what I feel for either of them right now, mable ... that's why it's so hard to talk to them right now..." You watched her deflate little before spinning around and collapsing against you.
"Fine! Let's talk about something less... mushy feeling!" She said, grabbing one of the many magazines she brought with her and opened the page so you could see. Eventually she'd fallen asleep and Dipper came looking for her.
You helped bring her up to their shared bedroom.
"Thanks for still talking to us?" Dipper said as you closed the door. "I would never turn my back on you, never Dipper." He smiled and gave you a quick nod. "Good night y/n."
"Goodnight, Dip."
As you ascended the stairs, you heard rustling. Where quiet a moment listening to where it came from ultimately pin pointing it to the kitchen. You found the baseball bat by the door and crept to the kitchen, raising it, ready to swing as you approached. But in the blue light of the fridge, you remembered.
you weren't the only ghost haunting the house lately.
"Oh! I, uh, I'm sorry I didn't mean to wake you!..." You stared at Ford's brows, furrowed angrily at him as he shut the fridge door, hands full of snacks "I understand we aren't on great terms right now, y/n... but the bat?" He asked, pointing to your weapon still raised high in the air.
You lowered it, leaning it against the wall and turning on the light. Ford stared at you in a way you couldn't place, like he was studying you. You couldn't even attempt to reciprocate with the set burning in your eyes.
"I'm sorry I was just leaving-" He said breaking the staring contest.
"This is your house." You mutter walking past him to the fridge.
"Our house." He corrected.
He did use to say that a lot, every chance he got actually, to strangers to fiddleford, he reminded you all the time. Use to.
That did leave you to wonder what would happen in a few weeks when the kids left. What would happen between you, the Pines brothers, and the house. Part of you assumed you'd leave. Part of you didn't want to.
You scanned the fridge, still feeling Fords presence in the room. You sighed, shutting the door.
Mable had a way of tugging at your heart strings. "Can't you just talk to them?"
Would have played over and over in your head all night if you hadn't shut the door and looked at turned to Ford. "Are you going to share that?" You asked, pointing to one of the containers in his hand.
You could visibly see him perk up.
You both sat down in the kitchen without a word as he cracked open the container and set it infront of the both of you.
You both took turns picking from it and eating in silence. Ford still staring at you like he'd never seen you before. In a way you supposed that was almost the case.
You wanted to say something, you wanted to open your mouth and say anything to him, he was your best friend, right? But every time you attempted it felt like you'd forgotten how to talk.
Ontop of that, what would you even say to him? Where would you start?
"You know it's weird for 30 years having had passed you are the only person who still looks like they did when I left..."
You blinked at him. There was slight relief he was starting. "I thought about you every day...about how mad you'd be when you brought me home...never this, though."
"So...what's changed in 30 years? Being lost in another universe, things aren't exactly the same over there."
He was easing you into it.
"Well..." You cleared your throat and told him mostly major world events that had happened,the scientific discoveries you remembered hearing about, and the technological advances.
You ended up talking like you used to. You even laughed. Ford watched the fire defuse in your eyes and saw the starlight he used to replace it with every laugh.
He'd changed. He was still your Ford...he was still Ford but different.
"I...Feel like I know you... but I don't...I don't know you anymore! It feels almost like we've never met." You admitted to him.
"And what's crazier is, too? I thought I DID know you... which makes this worse." Ford let your words sink in a moment. He understood what you meant.
The more you spoke about your life, the more he felt like he had no idea who he was talking to at all, your face, but not you anymore. Different likes and interests. Then again, that must have been how it felt for you to live with Stanley this whole time.
He cleared his throat and stood. You assumed he was leaving. Instead, he pulled out a piece of paper.
"Y/n...I have something I would like to say."
"You wrote me a speech?" You asked, looking up at him. "Well.. it's more of an apology... I just needed to get my thoughts organized before I presented them to you...then, of course, you've been hiding, but that doesn't matter now." He cleared his throat once again.
"I am sorry. Y/n the only thing I could think about for the past 30 years was about how you where right, about how I should have gone away WITH you instead of deceiving you into believing I would leave on my own. You were only trying to do what was best for me. You always have. Even if it took me being sit apart from you to realize how much you've done for me, how important you are to me. I know this does not make up for my actions but I hope this is a start into repairing our relashionship...friendship."
You smiled lightly and stood up, extending your hand. He grinned and took your hand, shaking it.
Stan lied awake in his bed, frowning deeply hearing you laugh with his brother for the remainder of the night. Sure, he messed up, but did the time you shared mean nothing?
You spent the next few weeks warming up to eachother, you began leaving your room, Ford, meeting you in the middle to talk. Luckily, you had plenty of stories to tell each other. And lots to talk about.
You noticed Dipper following Ford. You smiled at the sight of Dipper with Ford, they where a perfect duo. You felt like things were slipping back into place. You started talking to stan too. Not much, only greetings in passing or a quick conversation about the kids here and there.
The only thing different was Ford wasn't the only person you found yourself able to talk to.
"You're really just going to forgive him like that!?" Bill voice echoed around your mind. You shrugged in response.
You began a weekly meeting with Bill. You found he was of good use. He let you vent about stan and Ford, being an interdemensinal being means having lots of cool powers that let you blow off steam.
Tonight was just a normal of one of these "hangouts"
"He wrote a whole, sincere apology...he was my friend at one point, and i even -"
You could see Bill make a disappointed expression. "After all he put you through!? After never once showing you any feeling, you're really going to pull "I even had feelings for him once." Card? He was a different man back then."
You sighed.
"Listen, I say don't trust it, he's always down in that basment, right!? He's not once invited you back there to help him he's hiding something from you. "
"Oh, like you'd know you don't exist outside of my mind! You wouldn't know what it's like with him."
"Believe me, I know more than you know... but if that's how you really feel..." He extended his hand a blue flame engulfing it.
"Lend me your body for a few hours, and I can prove to you that Stanford Pines doesn't have your best interest."
"Why!?" You asked recoiling from him. "Why do you care so much about Ford not being trust worthy?"
"C'mon y/n! Have I ever steered you wrong!?" You chewed on your lip thinking about it.
You just wanted to be certain you could let him back into your life. You thought about it.
Just to be certain, you agreed with yourself and shook his hand.
Ford stared at the contents of a jar while once again crawling in his notebook, though he wasn't even noting the creator on the page.
Ford found himself once again filling pages with your likeness. He'd forgotten the hold you actually had on him until you began opening back up to him.
He would admit he missed the you that used to love all the science and engineering. But he was particularly fond of the version you'd grown into. He hadn't realized, but most of his time was spent in a daze over you. He also found himself wondering what exactly your relationship with Stanley was. He knew you two still wheren not talking to eachother so he never got to ask.
He also feared he might not like what he heard, especially if it's what he thought it was between you two. He could feel jealous rise up in his chest when he thought about it. Which was ridiculous, of course. He wasn't here. Of course, you'd move on. You never stated the nature of your relationship with him when he was here. But that didn't change anything.
"Fordsy!.."He sat up right in right in his chair, blinking in shock at the call of your voice.
"Y/n!?" He quickly scattered, hiding the artwork from you.
"Uhm what are..what are you doing down here?"
He watched you walk in with your hands folded behind your back despite how you danced on the edge of shadow he could see something different about you.
Not just like the other good differences he's noticed in you.
"I just came to see you fordsy... "
His face flushed at the way you had said that.
"I..i.." You laughed.
It was different from your normal laugh. Between the flush you were causing him and the human voice. He would have never picked up on why it still sounded familiar.
You stepped into the small circle of light, closing a lot of space between you and Ford, your head hung low, as if you were embarrassed. "I have something to tell you sixer."
"Ye..yes? You can tell me anything!"
"I've always been kinda in love with you!" Before he could say anything, you leaned forward, throwing your whole body weight onto him, pushing him back against his desk.
Engulfing him in the deepest kiss, you could muster.holding his face in your hands. You pulled away a wild grin spread across your face. As you forced him to look at you.
"Did you miss me sixer!? Admit it, you missed me!!" You said rolling your eyes playfully, still smashing his face in your hands.
Ford nearly choked when your eyes met his.
"Do you like my new body sixer!?I picked it just for you!"
don’t write checks you can’t cash.
jake seresin x reader (wc: 3.6k)
summary: jake seresin is under your skin. or maybe you’re under his. either way you’re going to eat each other alive. jake isn’t about to take the fall
warnings: mentioned age gap, heavy sexual tension (the smut is coming i promise)
author’s note: back on my topgun bullshit bitches (respectfully). i’m not usually one for multi part fics but i actually wrote something with plot for once so please just bear with me. loosely inspired by Zach Bryan’s ‘nineball’. please note this fic title is subject to change bc i hate it
(you can read part 2 here!)
————————————————————————
You don't believe in love at first sight. You think the whole concept is some foolish idea that people who have already fallen in love have the liberty of saying they believe in. Then people who have been through failed relationship after failed relationship are convinced that they're never going to fall in love because it just doesn't happen. The whole idea pretty much just sets the rest of the population up for failure from the start.
Even the concept of finding the right person one day and growing to love them is hard for you to grasp. Because how can you love someone that much? How do you know you love them enough?There are some days that you don't enjoy the presence of even your closest friends for very long, friends who you would do anything for. Even family, you only tolerated so much.
Your high school boyfriend hated that about you, the fact that you realistically needed so little of him—or anyone for that matter. You have always been violently independent, able to provide what you require, and therefore having to maintain a simplistic relationship became nothing but a monotonous task. Even most of your closest friendships faded with time.
Eventually, you prosed the question: what can someone else give me that I cannot give myself?
The answer was companionship. Because when you strip away everything from a person and all they have left to offer you is themself, you have to be willing to choose them. And sometimes that's not the most appealing quality.
Something did happen, the first time you made eye contact with Lt. Jake Seresin, but it was far from love. It was something terrible in your chest, like an aching. Like you knew in your gut that he was going to change your life. Good or bad, you didn't know, but it was certain to happen.
You don't even believe that you two were destined to meet — you just happened to, and in that moment, the damage was done, it was your fate to ruin each other.
——
You like the way he says your name. You like that he says your name on purpose, like he is intentionally seeking out reasons to say it. It's not as harsh sounding coming from his mouth.
"You from around here, [L/n]?"
You're wiping down the glass hatch of your F/A-18 when he approaches you from behind. You swivel your head to catch sight of him behind your back but he's already making a wide circle around you, his chin tipping up then down as he inspects your plane from behind his tinted aviators.
As you watch him scrutinize your aircraft, you regard him with a certain level of apprehension. Jake Seresin was nothing short of gorgeous. He was six feet of bronze skin and lean muscle, withbright green eyes, and a movie star smile. Not to mention the southern accent that had girls drooling over him.
"Austin," you correct him. "Austin, Texas."
You'd been transferred over to Miramar a little over a month ago, becoming the newest addition to the Dagger squad. California was a nice change of scenery, and everyone you had met so far had welcomed you with open arms. That is, everyone but Lt. Seresin— Hangman as they called him. You were still trying to find your footing with him.
You genuinely don't know what his problem is with you. The guy had hardly even given you a glance since the moment you'd arrived. Your first guess would have been that he was one of those dickheads who didn't like women working in the field, but his relationship with Phoenix disproved that theory.
Your answer seems to warrant his attention, and he looks up. His expression twitches at the correction but he doesn't say anything in response. For the first time since you arrived at Miramar, still, unsmiling green eyes catch yours from across the aircraft.
You hold his gaze. After a moment, your stomach twists in an unsettling way, like even it doesn't know what to do with itself. Your first instinct is to look away. Your brain is telling you that if you do, you can avoid any sort of confrontation that may happen as a result. But it's like you can't.
This is the first time he's looked at you, and now you don't dare to look away.
Even from behind the tint of his perfectly polished aviators, you can make out the distinct color of his green eyes. They're so distracting that you have to remind yourself to breathe.
After what feels like eons of uncomfortable staring, he breaks your gaze —surely it couldn't have been longer than a few seconds. Flustered, you glance around to see if anyone else has picked up on the affair. Fortunately, or unfortunately, you're not quite sure which, it's nearing 6pm and the base is on the better side of empty. It's a Friday evening and everyone is eager to head out for the weekend.
Someone clears their throat. Hangman is still standing there, hands shoved in his pockets like he doesn't have anywhere better to be. You want to say something but your gut is telling you that there's some sort of game going on here and you're not sure of the rules.
Finally, he faintly nods his head, as if to excuse himself, and turns to walk away. You watch his retreating back and relax a little, breathing a bit easier.
As you're turning back to your plane, relieved that the interaction is over, you hear him call back over his shoulder.
“The team is heading to the Hard Deck at nine. Don't be late."
And then he's gone, disappeared between one of the hangars.
——
For nine thirty on a Friday evening, the bar isn't nearly as busy as you'd expected it to be. You don't have to fight for a parking spot out front and there's not even a line at the bar. Other than a rowdy looking gaggle accumulating at the pool table, the atmosphere is pretty laid back. Looking around as you walk further in, there is a handful of people in civilians, but the majority of the crowd is composed of off duty aviators in their summer khakis.
You're about to head over to the bar top, where you were sure you had spotted Captain Mitchell, when someone shouts your name.
"Hawk!"
Your head swivels at the sound of your callsign, and you catch sight of Rooster beckoning to you over at the pool table. Immediately you recognize the familiar faces of the Dagger squad around him. You acknowledge him with a smile and head over to join them.
“And here we thought you were going to be a no-show," the brunette pilot chirps, his arm wrapping around your shoulder as soon as you're close enough. You lean into his embrace while touching his chest with a friendly pat of your hand. Bradley is by no means close to drunk but most definitely more than a little buzzed if you're going off of the smell of beer and lime on his breath and the occasional involuntary twitch of his mustache.
"I thought about it, but I can't keep letting you guys have all the fun," you laugh, holding out your other arm so that you can greet Natasha with a hug as Rooster releases you.
After hugging you, she presses a sweating bottle of beer into your hand. "Coyote bought everyone a round so I figured I'd save you one before the boys wiped them out. Sorry if it's a bit warm, you did show up fashionably late."
You playfully roll your eyes at her, taking the beer anyhow. "Thanks, Phe."
Payback places a large palm on the top of your head, diverting your attention towards him as he returns from the bar. "Don't let her fool you, we're just getting started over here. Rooster isn't even drunk enough to get on the piano yet."
Laughing, you glance over at the brunette aviator. "Now that I've been waiting to see. I hear you're quite the show, Bradshaw."
Since you transferred over to Miramar, you had been hounded nonstop to go out drinking with the team for weeks, and Rooster's infamous performance had been one of their key selling points. That and the fact that the owner, Penny, often gave them free drinks. Apparently she had a thing for Captain Mitchell.
Rooster grins, leaning against the pool stick in his hand as he waits for Fanboy to take his shot. "Let me get a couple more beers deep and I promise you won't be disappointed."
As you go about making your rounds to greet everyone else, you can't help but notice that there's someone missing. After you take a seat beside Bob to watch Rooster and Fanboy play, you glance around the bar a few times, convinced that you've somehow overlooked him despite the fact that the place isn't busy enough for that.
An almost disappointed feeling pulls at you despite how ridiculous the realization makes you feel.
After spending the better part of an half hour trying to push the feeling away, you finally spot a familiar head of blonde hair over at the dartboard. He's by himself, about three darts in and half a bottle of beer down. So much for the personal invitation, you think.
You watch as he throws a dart, practically without so much as aiming whilst contemplating whether or not you even have it in you to muster up the courage to face those green eyes again.
Without giving yourself the chance to back down, you swallow back the rest of your now warm beer and head over.
He tosses another dart just as you reach him, and it finds itself dead center with the previous three.
"With a hand like that, you should be kicking Rooster's ass over there in pool," you say as you come to a stop behind him.
Walking away from the dartboard, Jake turns to grab his bottle of beer from the table beside you.
"I'm not much of a betting man," he huffs, leaning back against the table. The muscles of his biceps bugle distractingly against the sleeves of his uniform.
You look back over your shoulder, watching from a distance as Fanboy's cue clips the eight ball and sends it ricocheting off the sidewall. He groans, and Rooster whoops triumphantly from behind him.
"It wouldn't be much of a bet. Even with his winning streak, I think you'd give him a run for his money."
Hangman takes a sip from his bottle, mouth lingering on the rim before he sets it back down and crosses his arms. "Rooster's all luck and no skill. The table's got a lean."
You raise your eyebrows at the confession, half laughing at his lax confidence. "Oh? And you would know this how?"
"C'mon, son. Fuckin' hit it in."
Body tense, his arm quivers ever so slightly and the pool stick bobs shakily in his hand. He closes his eyes and takes a breath in.
"I haven't got all day, kid."
He breathes out and breathes back in. The smell of cigar smoke and cheap beer swims in his head.
"What're you doin'?! Quit wastin' time."
He exhales, opens his eyes, and hits the pool stick forward. The white cue ball shoots out to the left, bounces against the eight ball, and sends it hurdling towards the side pocket. At the very last moment, it veers off to the left and falls into the back corner pocket instead.
The man standing on the other side of the table curses, his pool stick dropping to the ground, but Jake pays little mind to him. He straightens, looking around eagerly for the only set of eyes that matter. The grin falls from his face when he realizes the old man isn't even watching, too busy counting out his prize money and yanking out a ten to hand to the bartender.
Jake looks up at the clock on the wall over his shoulder.
12:57 am
"Dad, I wanna go home."
"Not yet, son. I've already got fifty put down on another round."
"Want me to show you?"
His offer makes you pause, and you can't help but cock your head a bit as you try to weigh out just where this is heading. For weeks he has acted as though you barely even existed and now you're engaged in the longest conversion the two of you have had since your arrival.
Jake finishes his drink and sets the bottle down whilst walking over to you. "Final offer. Take it or leave it."
You laugh a little before stepping back so that he can make his way to the pool table. "Lead the way then." But before you can make it too far, his palm finds the flat of your back, pressing you forward so that you're in front of him. You're glad he can't see you because your face flashes hot at the unexpected contact.
"I'm not the one playing, kid. I'm just going to show you the ropes."
"Oh, I didn't-"
Any objections you have about the situation are ignored as he pushes you firmly in the direction of the pool table and asks Payback for his cue. "Look alive, Bradshaw. Hawk is about to show you how this thing is done."
Straightening his wide shoulders, Bradley grins, smug and easy as you and Hangman approach the opposite side of the table. "And here I thought you were here to reclaim your throne now that I'm intoxicated."
Jake grins back. "You don't need to be drunk for me to do that."
Bradley's mustache twitches, but he's still smiling. "Sure."
Jake turns back to you, placing the pool stick in your hand. You can't help but think that his expression is all too confident for someone who has never even seen you play pool.
"Nervous?" he asks as you take the stick from him.
"Should I be?" you ask back, turning your head to watch as Rooster takes the liberty of breaking the rack.
He shakes his head, his green eyes glowing with a warmth that you've yet to see from him. "Not as long as you don't totally suck."
Seeing that it's your turn, you brush past him to stand at the table. "I guess I'll let you be the judge of that."
Thankfully you've played your fair share of pool and so you're able to hold your own for most of the game. Jake remains criminally silent as you play, arms once again crossed as he leans against a nearby stool, but you can feel his gaze burning into your back the entire time. It isn't until the end of the game and you've missed the same ball multiple times that he steps in.
"Shift left," he directs you. When you glance over at him, he nods his head as if to insinuate where you should move but doesn't move from where he's planted himself since the beginning of the game.
Hesitantly, you shuffle over a half step and take the shot. The ball comes closer than you have been but still hits the sidewall just short of the pocket. You huff in frustration, and Rooster steps forward to take his turn, sinking his second to last ball in the same pocket.
"I hope you're ready to buy the next round, Seresin. Looks like Hawk is losing her nerve," Bradley goads, unable to keep himself from boasting a little at your expense. When it comes to Hangman, he can't resist the chance to taunt him.
You roll your eyes at his comment, not bothered so much by it as compared to the fact that you're losing. When it's your turn again, you line up the ball and lean down to assume your position when Jake stops you.
All the sudden he's right beside you, palm pressing into your hip to scoot you to the side. "Move over." When you look at him like he's crazy, he huffs. "C'mon, do you want my help or not?"
It isn't so much of a question as it is a statement and the press of his hand against your side doesn't leave you much of an option and so you shuffle over to the far right side of the pool table.
Before you can even comprehend what's going on, he's leant over you, his impossibly tall frame pressed to your back so that he can reach around you and guide your hands. One wraps around your hand on the stick and the other cups your opposite elbow.
It takes everything in you not to jerk away, overwhelmed by his sudden proximity. Instead you try to focus on controlling your hammering heart and pray he can't tell how clammy your palms suddenly are.
"Hey, that's not allowed," Rooster complains. "Is that allowed?"
Coyote shrugs. "It's not not allowed."
Distracted by their bickering, his voice in your ear nearly makes you jump. "Hit the cue ball. Hard."
The lean press of his body is almost enough to distract you from the fact that he's done a god awful job of lining up the shot. There's not one alternate reality where you make this shot.
"You can't be serious."
He's so close that you feel him smile beside your ear. "Dead."
"Any day now," Rooster prompts, as if you aren't aware that Jake Seresin has been pressed against you for an uncomfortably long amount of time. And if Hangman has noticed the fact that your heart is fluttering erratically inside your chest or that your skin is flushed hot to the touch, he doesn't let on.
"I'm waiting," he reminds you, his voice placid in your ear.
Against your better judgement, you take the shot.
The white cue ball hurtles into the black eight ball with a hard clack and sends it flying across the table. It smashes against the sidewall, exactly as you had expected it to, and you release a breath of defeat. And then something unexpected happens. The ball slows, but instead of bouncing to a stop, it continues to roll left across the table. You all watch as it rolls directly into back corner pocket of the table.
"Well I'll be damned," Payback mutters aloud.
"Hell yeah, [L/n]!" Phoenix shouts, her loud and robust voice ringing out across the bar. "Shots are on Bradshaw!"
"Thanks buddy," Coyote laughs, teasingly grabbing the back of the brunette aviator's shoulders as he heads off for the bar.
Bradley waves them off, looking a bit miffed but still good naturedly accepting his defeat.
"How about it? You're a cold blooded killer."
Like a bucket of ice water being dumped over your head, the sound of Hangman's voice coming from behind you jerks you back to reality. You haven't even noticed that he'd stepped away. Something inside you twinges at the loss of his body pressed against yours.
You turn around to face him, your brain still trying to comprehend what just happened.
"How'd you do that?" you ask incredulously, your tone almost accusing. A deeper part of you wants to ask 'why did you do that' but the smile on his face stops you.
His top row of pearly white teeth that you glimpse is pristine, however brief, before his pink lips come back together in a more subdued smile. It's an expression that is so very genuine and carefree that it sends a spark straight through to your heart. You've never seen him actually smile before, and especially not at you.
"You're smiling," you accuse before you can stop the words from coming out of your mouth, half giddy at the discovery yourself.
Jake looks slightly away, turning his head briefly in order to suppress his smile before looking back to you. “Yeah? So?” His green eyes are twinkling as he says it, like he knows he’s been caught.
You jab the short end of the pool stick into the center of his chest, but he’s quick to grab it before it can find home.
“Up until yesterday, you could barely stand to even look at me,” you say.
He bites the inside of his cheek. “That’s not true.”
“So you’re saying that I’m seeing things.” You try to tug back on the pool stick but Hangman doesn’t release it.
“I’m saying you shouldn’t be seeing things.”
With that, a larger portion of the previous smile is gone from his face, a more sober look replacing it.
Just like that the spark fades. Even though you want to shut down, turn your back to his face and just walk away. You force yourself to keep talking, holding your voice steady. “I don’t think I’m following you.”
Inside you know exactly what he means.
His eyes flicker up over your shoulder but the Dagger squad has already moved on to crowd around Rooster at the piano.
You clamp your jaw together as he releases the pool cue and crosses his arms in front of his chest. It makes him look more relaxed than he is.
"Look, whatever this is—whatever you think I am, I'm not." He says this with the realistic conviction of someone who knows that even if it is, you can't. He says it like he’s trying to convince himself.
You’re not quite sure how old he is—barely thirty if you had to guess— but he’s older. Too old. Not to mention fraternization is deeply frowned upon.
"I know," you answer firmly. Because you do. Because even if it isn't, you want it, whatever it is.
He stares down at you with those green eyes, his pupils pinpoint sharp. After a moment he heaves a sigh and releases it, nodding his head. “So we’re in agreement?”
“Yeah,” you answer. “We’re in agreement.”
“Good.”
“Good.”
Really enjoyed your headcanons on Caeser and Proximus, do you mind doing the same with Noa?? 😊🙏
[Noa and day to day life with him!] [Headcanons!]
Summary: Noa takes you back with him to his home, and the clan accepts you as one of them. Even if you're concerned otherwise.
Word count: 1k (Jesus christ)
Warnings: None that I can think of! Can be read as Platonic or Romantic! You and Noa are attached to one another. (Yes, this is me projecting.)
A/N: Noa is so near and dear to me, I literally did not mean for this to be so long, and I STILL cut myself off. This is 1k words worth of headcanons for him, and it is not enough. I'm Noa's #1 fan, I am sorry to all my friends and family who have to hear me talk about him constantly.. Ask me for Noa anything, and I will give you the world.
Do me a favor and strap the fuck in for this it's alot.
I am so glad someone asked about Noa bc I got ALOT to say.
Noa has had it with humans, Mae put him, his clan, and countless others at risk, he should not trust humans, really he shouldn't, but he can't help it. She also betrayed you in the process, and now you're alone.
You agreed to help him and Mae against Proximus, you're the only one who actively goes up against Proximus as well.
Swinging and trying your best to try and get Proximus off of Noa, yelling and crying while the other apes just stare in fear. (Later on they apologize, but you don't hold it against them.)
It's a huge risk to invite a human with them again, but then he remembers Rakas words, Caesars words, and decides he can't told another's decisions over you.
So when he gently grabs your hand in his, looking down at you with a strained smile, blood seeping from his lips, you follow, back to his clans land.
Now on to the good stuff, it's kinda awkward finding your place among the eagle clan, the elders are gone, his father Koro is gone, there really is no guidance as to where to place you.
You drift mostly, either helping Dar or helping with the young ones, teaching them how to read and write, helping fish, farm, the basic tasks.
Dar loves you by the way, doting on you and making sure no one messes with you in a harmful way. She teaches you their customs and traditions, all the while playfully teasing you about Noa. She's a mom, she knows.
You're happy with your work, happy with your place among the clan. It's genuinely shocking how much they were willing to forgive and to not hold any grudges against humans after one ruined everything.
It helps that Noa takes accountability for you, somehow so trusting that you will not cause harm. His faith in you speaks volumes and you remind him everyday that it won't go to waste.
All he does is send you a sweet smile and ruffles your hair.
You find yourself helping Noa alot with crafting new tools and contraptions, being a second pair of eyes that can catch onto things he can't.
"Very smart." "Thank yo-" "For an Echo." and he does that stupid cute little sniff afterwards and it makes it tremendously hard to hit him.
He's such a little shit I fucking hate him.
You're his shadow when his duties permit, he's taken on a higher role of the clan, sometimes going out for days at a time but you're always at the edge of the Village waiting for his return, anxiously working your bottom lip until you see him in view.
You're both extremely attached to one another, Soona and Anaya become attached to you too, dragging you along in everyone's free time to go climbing, to eat, to hunt, just about any group outing has you as their fourth member.
Noa was worried about them accepting you, but they love you just as much as he does.
It makes his heart swell when he sees you and Soona together, giggling about something surely only you both understand while Anaya groans and complains about being left out.
It's like you've always been meant to be with them, to round out their group.
Soona and Anaya will offer to be the one to carry you this time, they do want to, genuinely, but Noa won't let them 99.9% of the time, He's used to your weight, he trusts that he can keep you safe the best. (Says the ape that literally almost died multiple times doing stupid shit)
"Noa worries too much, they will be fine." "Anaya is clumsy. Can't trust you to carry yourself, much less echo."
He tries not to carry you everywhere, but it is so much more convenient than waiting for you, so he scoops you up often enough that the stares don't bother you anymore.
Remember how in the movie, all the apes sleep together communally? Well you're at first extremely nervous about that, not wanting to ask what exactly are your accommodations because surely they don't want you there with them.
Actually, Noa does, so jot that down.
When you shyly move away, he raises his palm up at you, nodding to the space besides him.
When you don't move, he gently tugs you down, laying on his back and shutting his eyes. The clan hasn't really fully rebuilt and started to gather things needed for shawls and coverings, so it's not strange to him that you cuddle up to him to steal his warmth, peeking an eye open to see your face squished into his side, knocked out.
He wraps an arm around you, incasing you in more warmth.
This is a nightly routine until you finally take it upon yourself to throw yourself on him, he chokes out a breath as you make yourself comfortable.
Soona and Anaya usually join in, he cannot fucking breathe but he's so happy that it outweighs it.
When Mae inevitably shows back up, she sees you out in the distance, you look so genuine happy, so at peace with where you are. You even have some eagle feathers in your hair, integrated into their life that it shocks her.
It's enough to make her put the gun away, grasping at Rakas necklace like a lifeline, sucking in a deep breath to stop her from crying.
Maybe apes and humans can live at peace with one another after all. She hopes you prove her wrong.
🎀📖STUDYING TIPS FROM STRAIGHT-A STUDENT📖🎀
(1) Passionate about Learning
If we look at Hermione or Rory , they had a burning passion for learning. They were full of curiosity. They didn't just study for good grades , they studied because they were passionate to learn. They read alot of books. Ngl Reading is therapeutic . Hermione always went into detail , she read alot of books about the topics she was studying. There is a reason behind her being a " know it all " .
(2) Rely on Understanding , not rote learning
I was one of those who would study at last moment and rely on rote learning, I would still get good grades . But gradually I realized , studying at last moment is wrong and it makes education unworthy. After the exam , I would forget everything. Sometimes rote learning won't help too. Rely on understanding the concepts. Ofc there will be some topics that are just meant for memorization. When you come back from school , you should revise everything. It will makes things much easier for you.
(3) Be Disciplined and Dedicated
The best form of self love is discipline. Don't procrastinate. Procrastination is the cost of life you could have lived. Be mindful and prioritize your tasks. Start taking responsibility. You owe yourself to be disciplined and dedicated.
(4) Prioritize Education
Education is the most powerful weapon. Being educated and Intelligent is HOT ! HARD WORK WILL NEVER BETRAY YOU. Books are your best friends. When I had my exams or when I was in 10th grade, we had board exams . I studied really hard. It was lockdown but exams were still offline ( lol ). I cut off toxic people or anything which drained me or made me feel bad. I prioritized myself and my education. I used social media for 30 minutes only and I would watch content which made me feel motivated or good about myself. I unfollowed everything which made me feel bad. Did I regret it ? NO ! I GOT 98%. I strongly believe in manifestation too ( that's why this account exists ) so I affirmed for good grades too.
(5)Less Social Media or N🚫 Social media at all.
Alot of my classmates who are also exceptional at studying . Some of them joined Social media very late and some of them still don't use Social media. I joined Social media in Grade 9 but these days I try to use it as less as possible. This can be different for everyone. Maybe you use Social media in a healthy way and get good grades. For me , Social media can be draining sometimes so I use it less whenever I need to focus on myself. I was thinking to deactivate my account or take a break 😅. Most of the posts you see are scheduled btw, including this one .
(6)Find your WHY
Why are you studying ? What is your reason ? Is it because you want to make your parents proud ? Is it because you love learning ? Is it because you want to prove others wrong ? It is very important to have a reason for studying. Maybe connect your goals to studying. Let's say you want to become a dentist , now you can't become a dentist without studying ,right ?
(7) Find a Role Model
If you can't find your WHY yet , it's okay. Try to find a role model. It can be any real life person or a fictional character. It can be ANYONE ! My role models are Hermione and Elle Woods. You can put your role model Keychain on your pouch , stick their posters etc so whenever you look at it , you gain motivation to give your best. Again , it's okay if you can't find a role model . Become your own role model If you can't find any role model 😉
(8) Don't let Past intervene
It's okay if you weren't a good student from start . According to manifestation, you can revise being one too ! You can still change yourself and become a good student . You can prove all those people wrong by becoming a good student. Once a wise man said , don't let your past blackmail your present to ruin a beautiful future.
(9) Believe in Yourself & Be confident
Harry potter once said " Working hard is important but there's something which matters even more ; Believing in yourself " . Even if you aren't a potterhead , you should listen to Harry Potter. Another example can be Elle Woods , she believed in herself when no one did. She showed us the power of self belief. Be confident in yourself.
(10) Be attentive and Regular
You must be attentive in class. Participate in class and don't hesitate . I can understand if you can't participate in class because you feel shy ( I used to be like that ) but the more you push yourself to participate, the less you will hesitate. Gradually , you will feel confident too. Like Thewizardliz said , sometimes you need to get uncomfortable to get comfortable. Be a good listener.Also , be regular in your classes. If you aren't able to be regular, study at home. Some of my friends weren't able to be regular in school because of personal reasons but they studied at home . They didn't waste their time in unproductive stuff. Sometimes I was also not able to be regular at school but I studied at home and took breaks in between.
(11) Study From Youtube
I don't know if it's just me but youtube teachers can make the most complicated topics so simple. They explain everything in detail. Youtube teachers can be more helpful than school teachers tbh 😀. Self Study is important.
(12) Take care of Your Mental health.
It can be very hard to study with bad mental health. I tend to take care of my mental health. Stress can be the biggest distraction sometimes. So take care of your physical and mental health. Journal. Meditate. Take a break from social media if you need to. Use affirmations.Dance. Exercise. Read.Paint . Sleep. Whatever makes you feel better. Poor mental health can also interfere with your attention span so please take care of your mental health. Don't take it for granted 😃.
Short and simple tips
- Value your time. Time is money
- Self study is very beneficial
- Be organized
- Avoid Drama
- I WANT TO LET YOU ALL KNOW HOW IMPORTANT YOUR TODAY IS , YOUR NOW IS .STUDY HARD . WORK HARD.PLAY HARDER. DON'T BE BOUND BY RULES. DON'T HURT ANYBODY AND NEVER EVER LIVE SOMEONE ELSE'S DREAM. REMEMBER HOW MANY TIMES YOU GO WRONG, NO MATTER HOW MANY TIMES YOU FAIL , DESPAIR, FEEL LIKE THIS WORLD IS AGAINST YOU . IN THE WORDS OF BOB MARLEY , AT THE END EVERYTHING IS GONNA BE ALRIGHT . - SHAH RUKH KHAN aka SRK👑
🎀📖These are some tips which helped me and I live by these tips. I hope these tips help you too. I apologize if the post wasn't helpful🎀📖
Word Count: 4,200ish
Warnings: language, curses
A/N: Welcome back to this one! There's so much going on in this part that will fill in some gaps. I'm keeping this a two parter mini-series for now but maybe someday there could be more. Please enjoy!
_______
Dean POV
“Why hello, Lord Winchester,” said Donna with a bow and shit eating grinning. I narrowed my eyes as she shut the door to my office. “However may I serve you today oh fearsome one?”
“Fuck off,” I said with a smile, flipping her the bird. She still wore a giddy smile, sliding into the chair opposite my desk. “I believe it was security that came up with the Protocol for when we have a new employee, hm?”
“If I have to call you Lord one more time, I’m jumping off the terrace,” she said, crossing her legs and pulling her laptop from her bag. “Besides, that protocol isn’t a hard and fast rule. She’s not a spy.”
“She could be.” Donna rolled her eyes, clacking away at the keys. “She was stealing from me so she’s not so innocent.”
She scoffed. “She stole some fucking asthma medication for her kid brother cause she got canned from her old job so she lost her health insurance, all because she wouldn’t sleep with her scumbag ex-boss. Yeah. She’s a real hard ass.”
“Did you do what I asked?” I tilted my head, Donna sighing. “I’m not going to kill him. Just ruin his life.”
“An anonymous tip will go out to authorities next week,” she said. “Wasn’t exactly hard to find the tax fraud and payoffs.”
“As I expected. So, how’s she doing?” Donna shrugged, typing again. “Come on. She barely talks to me.”
“Yeah, cause you scared the shit out of her. She’s freaking out trying to come up with a plan to get into Crowley’s place.” I breathed deeply. “Isn’t she moving in today? Why don’t you go drop the charade and help her.”
I pursed my lips, eyes darting to the window. “She only got caught at the warehouse because one of the guards twisted his ankle in the parking lot and she went to help him. We wouldn’t have seen her at all which means that girl is hiding something.”
“Magic,” said Donna. I hummed, a bird flapping by. “There isn’t any in her bloodline from what we saw.”
“Do you remember why everyone calls me the Dark Lord?” I asked. Donna’s lips parted, her gaze averting. “There’s ways of having magic without being born with it and we both know it.”
“Can…can you do what she did? Sneak in and out of places without being seen?” I shook my head, Donna closing her computer, narrowing her eyes. “Oh, Dean.”
I turned my attention back to her, Donna frowning. “What?”
“You want her to sneak in and get Sam, don’t you? You’re going to risk some poor woman that worked in accounts payable her whole life just so-” I held up a hand, Donna still pouting.
“I want her to teach me how to do that. However she got in, I need to understand it and once I do, I alone will get Sam back.”
“How do you know you can do what she did?” Donna asked. I frowned, standing up. “Dean.”
“I just do, okay? I need to go. Can you handle the latest shipments?” She nodded, her eyes far too concerned. I tried to smile but it came out flat. “Just…trust that I know what I’m doing?”
“Don’t do anything stupid,” she said.
I gave her a curt nod before I was gone, swallowing thickly as I walked the halls towards the far end of the grounds where personal quarters were.
Nothing stupid. Right.
Y/N POV
“Careful!” you said as Kyle rushed around your new townhouse that afternoon. It was modern, yet cozy, warm and inviting. It was by far the nicest place either of you had ever lived. Coming fully furnished didn’t hurt either.
A knock at the door made you jump, Kyle rushing past you to open it. “Kyle-”
He ripped it open, Dean standing there dressed in a red flannel and dark wash jeans.
“Hello, I’m Dean,” he said, Kyle holding out a hand.
“Kyle Y/L/N,” he said back, Dean smiling as he shook it, his gaze oh so briefly finding yours in the background and god, your heart leapt at the sight. That man was hot when he was brooding but he looked downright sinful when he was grinning ear to ear.
“Allow me to properly introduce myself then. Dean Winchester although you probably know me in town as The Dark Lord.” Kyle dropped it immediately, Dean clasping his hands behind his back. “Really? Do I seem that scary?”
“Y/N says not to talk to strangers.”
And he proceeded to shut the door in Dean’s face.
“Kyle! That’s my boss!” You rushed over and ripped the door open, Dean chuckling when you did so. “I am so sorry.”
“It’s alright,” said Dean, Kyle tucked away behind your back now. He peered around you, giving Kyle a small wave. “That is good advice your sister gave you about strangers. You know, I wish I had a big sister when I was growing up. My life would have turned out very differently if I had someone watching my back.”
“Don’t you like being The Dark Lord?” he asked, coming around your side. You nodded and let Dean inside. He took a few steps before squatting down, letting Kyle tower over him. Dean tilted his head, looking boyish for a moment.
“Not really,” said Dean, Kyle’s eyes going wide. You kept your face expressionless but were surprised by that admission. “Outside this place, people think I’m the bad guy. I’m sure you’ve heard all the stories about how I’m a monster in a skull mask and cloak, running around killing anything that moves.”
Kyle nodded, Dean resting his elbows against his knees, sinking back into his heels.
“I used to live in town with my parents and brother. We were normal. We didn’t even have any magic in our family. When I was four though, a bad man came to my house.” Dean’s gaze fell down to the hardwoods, his jaw twitching. “He hurt my mom and tried to hurt my brother who was only a baby. It was King Crowley.”
“What happened?” he asked. Dean looked up at you though, your eyes following the thin trail of black that rose up from between his shoulder blades, curling all around the room, your eyes darting after it. Kyle looked at you strangely. “What are you looking at?”
“You don’t see…” Dean rose to his feet, the black trail curling all around your body, swirling and pulling away, stopping with a pointed look at your chest. “What are you doing?”
“King Crowley turns out was there looking for me. He knew of a curse, a powerful one. He placed it on myself and intended to place it in my brother. But my dad stopped him before he could touch Sam. Then, well then we left town.”
The smoky mist curled around Kyle, ruffling his hair without him noticing.
“See Kyle, this curse? It only works if put on soulmates. Sam is one of mine but people have lots of soulmates. So Crowley cursed another one of mine eventually and that day, I got my powers. Incredible power, power that when working with my soulmate would be unstoppable. King Crowley isn’t happy though. I was too strong when he tried to capture me, control me. So he went after my brother to try and place the curse on him too to control us. To have power.”
Dean’s trail moved from Kyle to tuck under your chin, yours lifting on instinct. His eyes followed the movement, lip quirking.
“I never wanted to be scary but it’s the only thing that keeps Crowley from coming here and trying to hurt the people I care about again. Reputation is powerful,” said Dean, clasping Kyle on the shoulder. “There’s a few kids playing a game of soccer down past the housing quarters on the greens. Maybe you want to go check it out while I help your sister finish unpacking?”
Kyle looked at you, optimism in his eyes.
“Alright,” you said, grabbing your phone off the front table and handing it to him. “I want you home by six at the latest, understand? And no leaving the grounds. And Kyle?”
“What?” he groaned, already rushing to put on his sneakers.
“Have fun,” you said, Kyle scooting outside not five seconds later. Dean watched him take off, humming before he stepped back inside the townhouse.
“Cute kid,” said Dean, his smoke trail spinning all around you. “Reminds me of Sam.”
“What the hell is that?” you said, nodding to where the trail stopped, pointing at you. Dean shrugged. “Is that because I’m magic?”
“You’re not magic, Y/N. I just told you. Crowley put a curse on me.”
“You said that already.” Dean’s black misty trail pushed forward, pressing forward, stopping at your chest. You stared down, breath hitching. “What are you doing?”
“You don’t use your powers often. You’d be more in tune with sensing others if you did,” he said, gently resting the tip against your skin. You glanced up, Dean cocking his head. “Do you remember the part where I said he cursed another, Y/N? A soulmate of mine. It’s not hard for a man dealing with demon magic like him to find out those sorts of things. So. If you don’t have magic in your blood yet you have powers…powers that allow you to see my also non-magical powers…that makes us…”
You blinked, holding up your hands. “Wait. No. No there’s not way you and me are…”
“So you didn’t eye fuck me the first time we met?” Your cheeks flushed, eyes darting away. “Y/N. Come on. Let’s stop pretending and be realistic.”
Your eyebrows shot up. “What exactly does that mean?”
Dean ran a hand through his hair, letting his hand drop slowly. “It means…it means teach me how you broke into my warehouse so I can get Sam back. After that…we’ll figure that out if Crowley doesn’t catch me.”
You took a few steps away, putting your back to him.
“Why does Crowley want our power? He’s never come near me. Something doesn’t add up.” There was a presence behind you, causing you to turn and face Dean who had come closer. “Unless he found out after the fact our powers aren’t that same and decided he only needs yours.”
Dean held up a finger pointing it in your face. “You…have good points. He really never came after you ever?”
“Not that I know of.” You hesitated, Dean tilting his head. “Your powers…what do they do?”
Dean took his turn to move away now, slipping past you into your kitchen. He splayed his palms on your kitchen island, shoulders sagging.
“Think of them as…being like the offense on a sports team. They can attack, control, move things.”
“I can’t do that,” you said quietly. You went to the kitchen sink, turning the water to hot, too hot. Meanwhile, Dean eyed you, steam billowing against the cold metal basin. “Just…watch.”
After a beat, you placed your hand under the water, Dean rushing around the island. You held up a hand, his gaze drifting down to where the water rippled over your skin. “It doesn’t hurt me, Dean. Your powers are like offsene? Well, mine are defense I’m pretty sure. It’s like I get a bubble around me.”
Dean reached around you, turning off the water before handing you a hand towel from the counter. He tilted his head, biting his bottom lip.
“You don’t think you can show me how you do that?” he asked. You sighed. He took the towel back when you finished wiping your hand off, one of his black smoky tendrils wrapping around it, holding it up. “Maybe you can try one of my powers first. Can you take the towel?”
With a frown, you concentrated on trying to pluck it away from him but all you managed was to make the bubble around your hand larger, wrapping it around the two of you. Dean looked up and over his shoulder, pouting when he glanced at the misty dome encompassing you.
“You may have a point about us having different powers,” said Dean, touching a finger to the barrier. “Why would Crowley take Sam then?”
“Same reason as always. To get to you. If he kept Sam, he could make you use your powers for whatever he wants. Mine aren’t all that useful to a guy like that. It’s probably why he’s never bothered me.”
“Why curse you then?” he asked. You shrugged, pulling the bubble away and swallowing.
“Maybe the powers don’t work unless both people are cursed? But I guess that doesn’t make sense. I’m younger than you quite a bit,” you said. He scoffed.
“Quite a bit? I’m barely forty, little shit,” he said, breathing deeply. “...Although I don’t remember doing anything with my powers until I was older. Maybe eight, seven?”
“So you couldn’t actually do anything until I was cursed as a baby too.” You leaned back against the counter, Dean settling back against the island with crossed arms. “I’m sorry, Dean. I don’t think I can teach you how to do what I do. I don’t even think about it. It just happens.”
“I understand that feeling,” he said, closing his eyes. “I’ll figure out another way to get Sammy out.”
“Setting aside the fact we are…soulmates for now,” you said slowly, Dean cautiously meeting your gaze, “I don’t think this plan stops at getting Sam back. Crowley will just come after him again.”
“You sound like you have an idea.” You pressed your lips into a thin line. “Let’s hear it. I hired you to brainstorm this stuff so I’ll take anything at this point.”
“Well, I think we need to figure out what Crowley wants. He’s all powerful so why does he need your power specifically? Crowly rules The Dark Lands. He’s eons old and doesn’t bother humans. So what on earth could he need you for and why now? He had plenty of opportunities to grab Sam over the years. He must be on some kind of deadline. What’s that tell us?” Dean straightened, eyes wide.
“Holy shit. I can’t believe I’ve never thought of that,” he said, reaching out and cupping your cheeks in his hands, planting a fast kiss on your lips. You barely felt it before he pulled back, licking his lips. “You’re a genius, little thief.”
“Uh, thank you?” He started to jog away for the front door, your throat clearing. “We’re not going to talk about the whole kissing thing just then?”
He froze, spinning around with a smile. “Couldn’t help myself. I uh, I know what Crowley wants I’m pretty sure. I’ll stop over tonight.”
“Dean-” But he was already out the door, jogging towards the main building. “Be careful, ya big idiot.”
Two AM
You jumped awake from your chair on the porch when you heard a car door shut. Dean’s muscle car was in front of the townhouse, his long legs carrying him up the front steps into the light. His eyes were dark, tired, but you saw no injuries on him.
“You worried about me or something?” he teased, sitting down slowly in the seat next to you. A long breath left his lips, his eyes closing. “You back to being terrified of me? Or is it just the nerves of being next to your soulmate?”
“I don’t like cocky guys,” you huffed, Dean chuckling, peeling his eyes open to smirk at you. “I don’t.”
“Yeah, you do.” He tilted his head. “It’s flattering really. You’re fated to be with The Dark Lord. You like a bad boy, don’t you.”
“You’re insufferable,” you said. You got up, taking the blanket wrapped around your shoulders with you. “Did you come here to flirt or what?”
“Always so serious,” he said, looking you up and down. “You have anything to eat? I’m starving.”
“Don’t you have your own home?” He hummed. “Why are you here?”
He stood, cupping the back of your neck, pulling you into a deep kiss. You rose up on your tiptoes, black smoke curling around your body and holding you in a tight embrace. God he was so…gentle? His large hands were holding you, grasping, tugging, yet his lips were slow, soft, teasingly playful.
He grinned when you broke off, nose touching as your hot breath mixed together. “I recall you wanting to revisit that kiss, hm?”
“How do you know we’re romantic soulmates, hm?” you said, Dean chuckling. “God, you’re annoying. I liked you better when I thought you were scary.”
“Oh, I’m terrifying, sweetheart. Just not to the people on my side. Especially not the woman that thinks I’m hot. Or would you like me to show you the security tape from when they brought you in and you couldn’t keep your eyes off me?”
“I was afraid for my life,” you deadpanned. Dean shrugged. “I was!”
“Yet here you are, kissing me twice in one day.”
“You kissed me-” He pressed a finger to your lips, shushing you.
“Details, sweetheart. Now, I really am starving and I would love to answer all of your questions but I don’t want to disturb Kyle. We can chat in the morning.” He pecked a kiss to your temple before striding off back towards his car.
“What? Why’d you come here then?” He spun around, a tinge of pink on his upper cheeks.
“I realize I left…abruptly. I didn’t want you to worry. I could say it’s because you’re head over heels for me because of the soulmate thing but really, you’re just kind. Kind people tend to worry about other people, even when they don’t quite deserve it yet.”
You crossed your arms, glancing down at your slippers. “Why do you pretend to be this scary bad guy when you’re clearly not him?”
“Because I can do a lot more good behind a mask. Good guy Dean wouldn’t have the connections I do to let me know your former boss wasn’t paying his taxes and has a history of sexual harassment. Good guy Dean certainly wouldn’t know how to get proof of that and how to relay it to authorities.” Your head snapped up, Dean pursing his lips. “You never thought it was curious why police never went after The Dark Lord with all his evil crimes?”
“Your whole thing is…a facade?” He shrugged. “So you don’t torture and kill people who wrong you?”
“I never said that. Stories get embellished is all.” You bit the inside of your cheek, Dean taking a step back. “I’ll see you in the-”
“Kyle’s not home. He made a few friends today. He’s at a sleepover.” Dean took a step forward, looking you up and down. “If you want to...talk now. Only talk.”
“Only talk. I’m good with that.”
You were hot when you stirred the next morning. Your pillow felt hard as your eyes fluttered open to find a very bare chested Dean under your head.
“Well good morning,” he whispered, kissing your temple. You narrowed your eyes, Dean breaking out into a laugh. “And they call me the scary one. They ought to see you first thing. Look ready to stab some eyes out.”
“Why are you in my bed shirtless? I do not hookup,” you growled. He shushed you, his large arm curling around your back.
“Because you invited me to stay? I got ketchup on my shirt after our snack so it’s in the wash…you only have a two bedroom and we had a few beers…so you told me we could share…do you really not remember this?” Okay, maybe once your sleep deprived brain had a moment to think, you did recall inviting him into your bed, even if that had been a somewhat drunken ask. “You good?”
“Yeah,” you said, laying back in bed, closing your eyes. “Just thought for a second we…”
“No. We didn’t do anything. But maybe I can cook you dinner sometime.”
“Maybe,” you said, Dean shifting in bed, feeling his chin rest on your shoulder. “You’re like a puppy aren’t you? Now that I let you in the house you think you can stay.”
“I let you in my house first,” he said, nuzzling his cheek against your arm. “Sam would like to meet you if that’s cool, say thanks in person. He should be up for visitors later.”
“I’ll make sure to stop by. I’m glad he’s safe again.” Dean let out a heavy breath. “You were fuzzy on the details. What exactly did you give to Crowley to get Sam back?”
“It’s funny how much you can get done when you just talk to each other,” said Dean, letting him use your arm as a pillow, your fingers toying with his strands. “It’s well known Crowley’s queen was imprisoned eons ago. Well, turns out the wizard who did it died about fifty years ago after some freak accident.”
“So his magic would start to fade.”
“Exactly. Which meant the queen would die when it did fade on the spell he cast without some intervention. The wizard cursed it so only a soulmate with the curse could open the box. Crowley was running out of time and grabbed Sam as a last resort so to speak. He’s not my favorite person in the world but we came to an agreement to put all this behind us.”
“Sam for the queen,” you said.
“And Crowley sticks to the Darks Lands for the next thousand years. Figured that should keep things quiet for awhile.” You turned your head, Dean looking up through his lashes. “I never would have thought to just talk to the guy without you.”
“Nobody’s perfect.” You reached your free hand around to rest on his bicep. “You’re offense, I’m defense, remember?”
“You know, I don’t actually know if we’re romantic soulmates. Crowley wouldn’t spill on that. We might just be meant to be best friends.” You raised your eyebrows, offering a sleepy smile. “Hey, you asked earlier. I just don’t know if-”
You pressed a finger to his lips, Dean’s eyes darkening. “Why don’t we start with you making me dinner tonight and we’ll go from there?”
“What about Kyle?” he asked.
“While your concern for my little brother is extremely appealing, I’m pretty sure he wouldn’t mind a night at one of his new friends again. Anymore excuses?” Dean pursed his lips, thinking hard.
“You don’t feel obligated to do this because I’m your boss, right?” You rolled your eyes, Dean batting your hand away to roll on top of you. “Had to check. So. Dinner at seven?”
“Sounds great,” you said, staring up at him, Dean licking his lips. “Better run along, Mr. Dark Lord. Lots of terrorizing on the agenda for today I’m sure.”
“Between the torture and the maiming I mean I’m packed solid,” he teased, bending down, brushing his lips over yours. “Come by the mess hall at noon with Kyle. We have family lunch there on the weekends.”
“Sure thing Mr. Fluffy Lord.” Dean pecked a hard kiss to your lips, pointing a finger at you when he pulled back. “You’re so soft and you know it.”
“Yeah, yeah. Keep it up, little thief.”
“One time!” you said, Dean smirking, your eyes widening. “How…how’d you know it was more than once?”
“My stock’s been short for the past year. No harm, no foul. Oh,” he said, climbing out of bed, ruffling his hair. “Remind me to talk to Michael about Kyle. He’s been researching it for the past few months and might have a magical fix for his asthma.”
“Months? But you didn’t know-”
“I knew someone was stealing the medicine and while we can’t cure everything, between magic and science, I figured he could solve it and we could put it out there.” You smirked, Dean pointing a finger again. “Do not call me Fluffy Lord.”
“Yes. You’re truly so evil.”
“Damn right I am,” said Dean. “I got a skull mask and cloak even. Evil incarnate over here.”
“Whatever you say, Fluffy Lord.” You propped yourself up on your elbow, Dean narrowing his eyes playfully. “I hope you enjoyed this because you’re not getting back in my bed until you’ve earned it.”
“Already dreaming about the next time we share a bed, are we?” he teased. You flipped him off, pointing at the door. “Alright. I better get out of here before we have to explain this situation to a twelve year old.”
“Yes, please,” you said, Dean bending down, cupping your chin in his hand. Your heart caught in your throat, Dean smiling softly.
“Thank you for giving me back Sam, beautiful.” He pressed a linger kiss against you, lifting his head and kissing your forehead. “I’ll see you soon, little thief.”
“Yes you will, Dark Lord.”
First Out (Wild Life Spoilers)
Hey guys, I'm still reeling from Wild Life's first permadeath, and it had me thinking.
Mumbo wasn't supposed to be the first out. It was meant to be Scar. The winner of Secret Life was meant to be the first to die.
What lead me to think that?
First, the Secret Keeper wanted Scar to be the villain and in my head, I don't think it was because they wanted Scar to win. Sure, in the life series, it's kill or be killed, but you need alliances to make sure you don't die first. You can't fight an army alone if your name isn't Technoblade. So by making Scar the villain and trying to make everyone hate him, the Secret keeper was trying to get him killed early. Sure, they didn't want him out first since the Canary Curse was still activated, but still they wanted him out early. But that didn't happen. Scar managed to wriggle his way through the other teams so their eyes were on other people and not him.
Now why did they want Scar to be the villain? Because he was a thorn in their side since the first session. He failed his first task and then got Grian, the guy they hate and the ruler of Life series games, to make a loophole so he could get a re-roll, messing up their order of plans and accidentally giving Scar a really easy 'HARD TASK'. (Anyway, that's my headcannon on why Scar's Hard Task was so much easier than any of the other hard tasks we saw later in the season.) Scar used Mumbo's task to bribe him so he looked the other way so Scar could easily complete his task. Scar got Bdubs killed even though he was Green and he found a loophole in their task so there would be two winners in the Chicken game. He distracted the Wither for so long that it made everyone gather up and defeat it and the Warden with the only casualties being Jimmy, Mumbo, Grian trading his life for Scar's, and an accidental death of BigB on Scar's end. Grian cheated to spare Scar's life by allowing him to log off then log back in. And Lizzie managed to break the curse on Jimmy, allowing Jimmy to not go out first. So the Watchers turned their heads to Scar, the watcher's favorite, and decided that the only way to hurt Grian was to hurt Scar. And while their plans work on making Scar the villain, it worked too well. Scar wasn't just going easy and he won. Sure, Grian helped him a bit with bringing Gem and the Scotts' health low, but it was all Scar's skills that got him the title of winner.
Wild Life was meant to be the Watcher's revenge on Scar. After all, they allowed him to be paired up with Jimmy and Lizzie. Scott said it himself that their teaming up would mean they would be out of the series the fastest. And while the Watchers hate Scott, they realize he was right. So to try and restore order, they decide to let Scar have friends and then kill him so fast that he couldn't even be allowed to enjoy it. And session 3 was when the Watchers struck. They were so close to Scar losing his final life thanks to the invisible Snail trap that Martyn used. Martyn, an agent of the Watchers who they had been using for years and who was the winner of Limited Life because of their will. Sure, it meant the Canary Curse would be broken, but they didn't care. Scar would be gone and his team would be in ruins. They were so close too. The snail almost ended Scar's series. But then Grian, who had been avoiding Scar for so long and was trying to deny his feelings towards him, stopped the world and ended the Session early before Scar could die. Grian ended the game early for Scar again, and they weren't happy.
The one guy they wanted dead was now alive all thanks to Grian. It made them extra mad because it meant Scar now had a chance to not only live but thrive. They knew that if they didn't get him with snail now, they wouldn't know when Scar would be out next. And that's what Scar did. Scar not only got back to Green by killing Etho and Grian, but he managed to help the Canary regain his lives even after Martyn accidentally killed him with Jimmy's own trap by using Grian's own trap against him. And it was all thanks to Grian.
So the Watchers were glad to hear Grian vow his revenge against Scar and Jimmy, it meant that Grian was now on their side. They were so sure the Canary Curse would continue and Scar would be dead soon. And it at first worked, Grian got Scar on Yellow due to his admin 'Watcher' powers and it seemed like things were going well. But then Scar called out Grian for cheating. For using his Admin/Watcher powers against a player and this snapped Grian out of their trance. For all of Wild life, Grian had been using his Admin/Watcher powers more and more. At first, it was harmless, he knew all the Wild Cards. It would be impossible for the game to happen if Grian did not know the Wild Cards and Grian refused to simply just watch the games like the Watchers originally planned. But then Grian began using his Admin/Watcher powers more and more. Threatening to use his powers to ban people and using his powers to have an edge over the other players. He was becoming more and more like the Watchers he hated.
But then Scar called Grian out. Scar, the only one who could get to Grian, saw what Grian was doing, saw that it was unfair to the other players, especially him, and called Grian out for cheating. And it gets to Grian. At first, Grian tries to brush it off as them just being even. After all, Scar did the first underhanded shot by shooting him off the Bridge of the Spanners' headquarters, so it was only fair that Grian got him back. But the more and more he thought about it, the more it bugged him. He tried to ignore it. Try and push it to the back of his mind, but he couldn't. And Grian realizes he made a mistake. That he abused his Watcher powers and was becoming more like them. So to try and make amends, he gives Scar the mace. But of course, it wasn't that simple. Scar didn't care that much about the mace. What he truly, truly wanted was to have Grian back. To end their fighting and to be Best Friends again. To be like Third life again.
And it brings Grian back to his humanity. It made him remember the good memories and that he doesn't have to be like the Watchers. And to hear Scar say 'What happened in Third life?', it softens Grian and they become Allies. Whether or not Scar remembers what happened in Third Life, it doesn't matter since Grian fully believes Scar doesn't remember anything about Third life except for Mr. Bubbles, Pizza and their friendship. (To be honest, I have no idea how genuine Scar was when he asked about what happened in Third Life. On one hand, he sounds like he means it. It doesn't sound like he's lying. But on the other hand, Scar is a master liar, and he remembers the Lilacs and Poppies like it was yesterday. So it's up to interpretation.)
However, Grian still wants to save Mumbo and Skizz. He still wants Jimmy dead, so there was still a chance that at least the Canary Curse could continue. Sure, Jimmy prayed to the Watchers to be spared, but the Watchers don't care, they just used his wishes to make sure Tango wasn't out first.
But... Mumbo didn't want Jimmy to die first. Mumbo wasn't a heartless fellow to a fellow struggling red life and thanks to Scar, Grian allowed Mumbo to spare his life. However, we all know what happened next. Mumbo, not checking if everything was secure, not checking if everything was safe, not seeing the warning signs that the mine was dangerous, saw Gem moving away from Jimmy and trying to get a life back activates the TNT minecart track. And... with one lever left active, Mumbo dies in a firey explosion. Grian, not looking at Mumbo, only hears an explosion as Tango's wind burst thrusting him into the air and saving his life, and is left paralyzed as he sees his friend's burnt corpse. And in the first time in forever, Grian is allowed to grieve. And the world stops and pitied Grian. Grian, who was seen as the source of all the lifer's suffering and a villain who must be slain for all of Wild Life, was pitted and was finally seen for who he was, human. Sure, Grian was close to being like the Watchers. Much closer than he ever had been before. But thanks to Grian protecting Scar in Session 3 and preventing Scar's final death, Grian was saved from himself and the Watchers. It was thanks to Scar and their friendship that saved Grian but at the cost of Mumbo's life.
Mumbo, poor Mumbo, only wanted Grian to look at him like he did to Scar. Mumbo who wanted Grian to love him like he did Scar. Mumbo who wanted Grian to save him like Scar. But it was too late. Mumbo wasn't a fighter and unfortunately, there are some things not even Watchers can protect you from. Only when it was too late, did Grian finally look at Mumbo like he did with Scar. Just like Third life...
✮ ┆ THE HANDS THAT MAKE YOU BLEED. shadowheart
after becoming a dark justiciar, she decides against throwing you away and rather, uses you to spread the word of the lady of loss and help herself to some relief
CONTENT WARNINGS. 18+ only, minors dni. NSFW/DARK CONTENT UNDER THE CUT; female-bodied reader, dark justiciar! shadowheart, mention of chains, manipulation, captivity, face sitting, hair pulling, | ~2.3k words
A/N. this took like a few days and it might show, it might not, but gods i want this woman to ruin me in all ways she can think of. first time writing for baldur's gate 3, hopefully i didn't destroy anyone's expectations by writings this, anyway... i hope you guys enjoy !!!
the hands that dared to seize your free will, the hands that gave you silent commands, the hands that pushed and pulled you onto the granite floor, hands that patted the top of your head or cheeks so kindly after chaining yo up, hands that treated and teased your mind into mush so cunningly, the hands that punished, torn up your skin, maltreated you so cruelly.
those hands grabbed the belt on your waist, playing with it for a long second as she steps closer, pulling and pushing on it to before taking it off and holding it up in front of you. “you did well today, I am pleased…” the sash was weighted down by the hands of two paladins whose life you stripped by the command of the woman above you.
“kneel.” came simply, almost as quiet as the wind.
she was pleased how tolerable, how easy it was to use you to attain the eternity and enforce the word of shar. to think it was a tedious chore, a daily task of her belittling you, punishing you for every tiny mistake you made to get you to complete obedience.
shadowheart chuckled sickly as she thrived in her work, her fingers coming to grip your chin to tilt up your head. the purple-glowing eyes stare right into your soul, causing your cheeks to flare up because of the sheer embarrassment. it was already humiliating to be kneeling at her feet, in front of all the clerics.
truly, she was ruthless, but you couldn’t leave her, no matter if you wanted to or not, even if this public humiliation was slowly becoming a daily occurrence.
the room was silent for a few seconds, you closed your eyes and bowed your head as you waited for her next instruction but only the sound of boots and shoes scraping the floor echoed in the room and before you knew it, a small click sound. shadowheart patted your head, signing that you were allowed to get up on your feet.
“I’m proud…” she would never admit out loud in front of anyone, that she is pleased with your work not just because you have done it without complaining and shown how easy it was to meet her ‘high’ standards, but because you came back to her, rather than escaping. all her hard work to form you into a devotee like herself was one of her divine masterpieces.
she wasn’t going to let anyone mess it up by letting the leash she had on you hang loose. “we should celebrate, hmm?” she hummed softly as she took the collar of your shirt in her grip, yanking on it until your face met with the cold floor.
shadowheart let out a pleased scoff, watching as you tried to gather yourself from the sudden hit, wiping your face from the dirt that stuck to your sweat. quietly taking her steps to circle you, a bright smile on her face as you don't even try to get up until she says so. this just puts more fuel to the fiery pit in her stomach, craving to be satisfied by her most devoted.
"don't keep me waiting, hurry after me." she said lowly, grabbing hold of your hand that reached out for the stair by which you wanted to push yourself up. you look up at her, eyes sparkling with the mix of some sort of surprise and appreciation, things that she was quick to strip you of as she yanked you onto your feet and headed towards her chambers without waiting for you.
"my lady..." you whispered when you stopped walking, standing at the doorway, staring inside with wide eyes as you watched her move around in her large bed. she didn't even glance at you once, instead began to undress herself once she was settled in the middle of the soft silk sheets. this was nothing short of luxury, a privilege that she dragged you into her bed instead of just taking whatever physical pleasure she wanted and needed from you right in the middle of the house of grief without any care that someone might open in and see the two of you.
once she had stripped her underwear, leaned against her piles of pillows with a smirk on her lips, knees pulled up and slowly parted, just enough for you to see her glistening excitement smearing between her thighs.
"well... what are you waiting for?" she purred, voice husky as it sent shivers through your body, your legs weak and ready to obey her command. there's only so much power you can wield without it being her calling it an abuse of the little freedom she is giving you, being hesitant is one of those things she lets slip by.
you walked further into her chambers, your hand reaching for the few sashes that held your light armor together. you didn't have to be told or made by her to strip, she expected you to be bare and ready to fulfill her lustful needs with one simple look. thought she preferred if you were hasty about it, she didn't mind once in a while if you made a show out of it, only taking one layer down at a time and leaving your underwear for her so she could tear it up, to further degrade you, to call you her slut for not even fighting back against her violent advances.
"so many things you got done in so much time..." she starts off, her tone seemingly careful and kind as you crawl between her legs and wait for her to open them further, for her to let you lap her up with the eager moves of your tongue. but instead, she grabs your jaw, harshly digging her nails into your skin, her expression malformed into one of disgust and judgment. "do you have no shame for making wait?"
you cry a sorry out, then another when her other hand grabs a hold of your hair and pulls your head back until the skin over your throat painfully stretches, the back of your neck nearly snapping from the force. the pain was a reminder that you weren't a soldier anymore, that you were something else entirely, something that was different yet still felt exactly the same as your former self. you were her tool, used to achieve her desires. but now you're here, you're here to serve, to do her bidding, and to make her feel good.
there was not much you had to say or wanted to do other than assure her that you would do your very best, no matter if it meant that she smothered you to death between her lips of wildflowers. such a cheesy and unnecessary compliment for her, as if she didn't already know how'd you plead for your life, but such things like that brought back a small piece of the shadowheart you first fell in love with, a fragment of who she was before she chooses shar over you, that softened her now stone cold and hard heart so she saw you more than just a 'thing' that was beneath her.
but as far as compliments like that went with her, today she was not at all interested in anything you had to say. her pure goal was for you to shut up and use your mouth as she intended you to- to please her, to eat her out, to feast on her as if this was your last chance to eat because who knows? it might as well be...
shadowheart twists your head to the side, forcing you to roll onto your back before settling above you, nestling your face between her thighs but still keeping her grip on you. she looked majestic even if you couldn't see much of her in the dim lights, you knew how she looked by heart.
"service me now, work for my forgiveness." the words were spoken in such a way that they felt more like a command rather than a request, the sharp nails now digging into your scalp, more vicious than anything else. you wanted to flinch away, but her grip was firm. her grip was painful. her grip was everything but gentle.
she lowers herself on your face, feeling your nose touch the skin of her inner thigh before bumping into her clit. the warlock flinches, her grip loosening the slightest bit as she lets her sensitive bud throb with overwhelming need before slowly moving her hips. your head following her movement, and your mouth, sucking hard and biting her sensitive skin as you licked at it, tasting salt, trying to find her sweet spot.
it wasn't too hard with her guiding you, the merciless tugs to adjust your face as you stuck your tongue out and gently sucked at her sensitive nub, the warmth of her wetness mixing with your saliva as she continued to move your head faster and faster.
"ah," she moaned, throwing her head back as her hands rested on either side of your head, holding tight onto your hair and tugging with such force that she almost tore it out. but there were more pressing matters than for you to focus on this little discomfort that was so inconvenient for you. letting a hiss of pain die in your throat, you let your attention be eaten up be the taste of her hot and sour, of her juices running down your mouth, of her own blood mingling with yours, of her cries filled with joy and satisfaction.
your vision blurred and darkened, shadowheart merely being a shadowy figure above you, your whole body shaking under her weight as you felt her muscles tighten in her abdomen and the heat of her seed run down your throat, staining your tongue with the sweetness. the sounds that escaped her mouth and the scent of her arousal that filled the air made your head spin, your hands tremble as you gripped her thighs tightly to ground yourself, to remind you that she was really fucking with you. really getting what she wanted. really making it clear that she owned you, that you had to do what she asked you to do, and that you were just a slave to her will.
shadowheart gasps deeply and closes her eyes tight. "faster," she commands in a hoarse whisper, "harder!" she practically screamed the words as her fingers dug deeper into the skin of your scalp, making sure to leave a mark that you would never forget. your mind going blank as it started to cloud over with ecstasy, as it was filled with the moans of the divine dark justiciar's cries of pleasure. she was enjoying it, enjoying this, enjoying being dominated by your tongue, sucking her off like a whore, like her own personal whore.
her breathing slowed down, her fingers slipping from your hair, her spine arching to press more of her weight down onto you, your lips finally sating the thirst and desire burning within her, the only thing left now was your body trembling in fear for her to do as she pleased with.
you could barely lift your eyes enough to see the look on her face, to see if she enjoyed the moment, if her satisfaction was greater than the last time you serviced her with your mouth. your lips parted as her head tipped forward and her gaze looked at you.
a satisfied smile spread across her face as she slowly moved the slightest off of your face to see her wetness shining on your face, enveloping your delicate lips.
shadowheart lets out a pleasant sigh, closing her eyes for a mere second as her body enjoys the remaining small waves of pleasure washing over it before moving off of you. she falls next to you on her side, her face inching away from yours before she leans in and captures your lips in a searing kiss. her hand comes up to caress your cheek, seemingly letting you savor the soft sensation of her skin upon yours.
you kiss her slowly, softly, tenderly...
"oh my... " she moaned, her hot breath fanning over you as she ran her fingers through your hair, pulling your head closer to hers. you knew what was going through her mind, could see the hunger radiating from her eyes, the want, the need, and the lust.
you let your eyes close, feeling her lips brush against your cheek, her hand falling to your stomach and caressing your lower stomach, pinching the skin lightly and causing you to wince at the sudden harsh movements of her hand.
"I... I'm tired, I need rest..." you mumble, the words barely audible and weak as your eyes remained closed, unable to open them and see what kind of look the dark warrior was giving you. you heard her hum, her warm breath fanning over your neck, her hand resting on your hip.
"you'll rest when you're dead." her voice was deep and low, her hand squeezing slightly around your hip, causing you to shudder and gasp as a chill ran down your spine. you opened your eyes to see what kind of face she was making, and for a brief second, you thought you caught something resembling sympathy, a sliver of a caring soul hidden behind her mask of darkness, her cold gaze melting your bones as your heart rate picks up, adrenaline pumping in your veins. "now i'm gonna fuck you until i get bored." shadowheart whispered in your ear, licking the shell and smiling widely, her tongue darting into your earlobe as she bites down. there is nothing you can do, nothing you can say that will change this situation, you are trapped, bound to her and your fate as surely as a snake wrapped around a stick tied to its tail; and she is the one to wield the whip.
What do you think happened during/after the fight Delta had with his Gaster(in the Final Ep. 1). What are your headcanons for it?
Apologies for the delay in response, I needed to both gain energy/motivation to reply and also to go rewatch Ultra/Vitaltale to refresh my memories.
And also the way the videos were sorted on creator’s YT channel was confusing my brain for some reason, so I just scrolled through their entire channel in order to find every piece on the AUs & put it into separate chronological order in a playlist of my own. Then I tried to rewatch all of it.
Which was hard, because I kept getting distracted and my attention kept drifting away. I will probably try to rewatch again soon, when I am capable of actually retaining the information in my mind accurately.
(Random side note because the thought just occurred to me; I find it very interesting how both Doggo and Papyrus demonstrate bravery when facing up against the unknown threat in Vitaltale Episode 1.4.
Whereas Sans, who will eventually absorb the SOUL of Bravery to become the Delta we know, is all for evacuating. Love how this Sans is not naturally brave in the typical way, even should he eventually come around to gaining the bravery soul in Vitaltale as he did in Ultra.)
Anyway. On to the actual question. My mind is a little wonky today so if I get anything wrong or confused about the question feel free to correct me.
So it’s to my understanding that Echo (Ultratale’s Gaster) calls Sans/Delta to the Ruins for a “chat” after Delta’s fight with Cross. Echo has information for Delta—a way to “fix” their mistakes, but he will not tell Delta unless he fights for it.
Delta calls the information “old,” and says he’s going to beat Echo into the ground anyhow. Gives me the impression that he’s possibly more fixated on his current task—protecting AUs—then trying to go back and fix the past.
Because Ultratale was ultimately rebooted into Vitaltale we obviously don’t know for sure how this battle ends and likely never will, but I personally HC that it has multiple endings.
1. Delta loses, Echo doesn’t give him the information. The two go on their separate ways and live their own lives.
2. Delta wins. Echo attempts to tell the information, but Delta stops him. Says he doesn’t want to know and just wants to move on with life. That it’s what Papyrus, Frisk, and the others would want them to do.
3. Delta wins, Echo tells him the information of how to go back and fix it all. Delta refuses.
4. Delta wins, gets the information, and he accepts. Perhaps this information leads into the formation of a variant AU—a reboot, that creates Vitaltale. Chara doesn’t absorb Frisk’s soul and therefore can’t prevent them from Resetting.
(Side note: perhaps, for a character defining moment, in every ending where Delta refuses to hear or accept this information, Echo always furiously protests against this. Maybe Echo is the voice encouraging Delta to go back, to fix it all and “fight for us,” whereas Beta is the voice encouraging Delta to keep moving forward.
Echo cannot let go of the past because he was shattered and wasn’t ready to leave it, but he is was always aware.
Beta never got to truly live either because they were murdered and kept in a jar, but they were not as aware of the world outside the jar and thus is able to move on easier. Because Beta’s life was over before they truly got to live it, whereas Echo/Gaster’s was cut off at its peak.
Delta is in the middle of this. Experienced with life, but still young. His life is just starting—he’s halfway out of that cage—whereas Beta realizes they are free and is just trying to convince Delta to join them, and Echo..the cage is open, he can step out now.
But he spends his time trying to coax Delta and Beta back inside instead, and to help him bring everyone else back in the cage where it’s safe and familiar.)
Delta, now just Sans and perhaps without any memory of the events of Ultratale, manages to convince Frisk to Reset near the end of a Genocide route and be better. However, the Determined Omega!Chara must still Erase this world—the culmination ending exactly as Ultratale did.
Omega!Chara absorbs Frisk’s Soul, prevents them from Resetting and goes on a Genocide to Erase this world once and for all. Sans attempts to prevent it, even by giving characters such as Doggo hints and tips to help them in combat against the unknown threat.
None of it matters. Sans’ attempts do nothing, it ends in Genocide and Sans absorbs the Bravery soul—going on to protect the rest of the Multiverse.
He always fights Cross, he always fights Echo. He’s always given the choice—go back and try again and again, or accept what happened. Be brave, and move on. Do what Doggo and Papyrus did—brave in the face of impossible odds.
Anyway I guess my little HC is basically that Ultratale and Vitaltale are connected in-universe. Vitaltale is the story of how we got to Ultratale, and Delta must choose between the mortifying ordeal of the unknown and living with his mistakes & losses, or the comfort of a past that’ll end horribly in Ultratale; but at least he never lost anyone yet and no mistakes were ever made.
If he chooses to move on, he goes to the Omega Timeline where he meets Color, Epic, Core Frisk, Killer. Grows closer with Beta, Cross, XChara. Adopts a service/therapy dog he names Zorox (which is someone else’s HC, I don’t know if it’s okay or not with being tagged). Lives life, saving and protecting people.
Sans manages to escape the loop of Undertale only to find himself in another due to the rebooting nature of Ultra and Vitaltale. Only this time he has the ability to choose to escape it, he just has to be brave enough to attempt it—even though it seems impossible.
(Also how, despite the way his experiences could understandably lead him to Nihilism, helplessness and the belief that nothing he ever does or says will ever matter or change anything, he learns to be brave enough to keep trying anyway.)
Anyway. Sorry for the long rant that got horribly off topic at points. I had a lot more ideas about this by the time I was done than when I first read the question. Have Delta & Echo being silly and zesty respectively to make up for it:
THEIR QUIET FARMHOUSE almost seemed untouched from the horror’s of the world outside its fenceline. The both of them had talked about leading a quiet life, staying on farms raising animals and crops. Waking up to the sunshine each day and ending the day with a family meal, and falling asleep to the sound of wildlife.
She was so sure that their late night talk would never happen. Not with the lives they lead, her working shift’s as a nurse, her hour’s never being consistent. And him almost always being on leave or another country away from her. Did not help when she took the fateful test that two pink lines showed up.
Before the both of them did everything they could to spend time with their little girl, Piper would take every weekend off for her. Even though she and Jake were not married they would give each other day’s with her. Then day one of the end of normal happened, and they had to now fight to protect their little girl from harm more than ever.
Today was their weekly supply run. Usually consisted of one of them staying behind and the other heavily armed packing as much as they can. Things were a little different, she had never brought Alice with her on a run, she knew she couldn't hide her from the world forever, they both knew.
She gently pulls down a can of carrots from the supermarket shelves. She looked down at the list in her hand, she had already gotten most of what she needed, she was bent on trying to find Alice something soft, and non noise making for her to play. The sound of her crayons scraping the floor catche’s her attention.
Her lips formed a soft smile. She bent down to a height of five year’s height. Her green eyes look up at her mother. Almost the spitting image of herself with the exception of her father’s eyes and grin.
“Good Job.” Piper signed to her, she grinned. She had been teaching her simple ASL thing’s when she was three, two years later she knows almost fifty word’s to sign, almost more than her own father.
She picks up her yellow crayon beginning to fill in the sun she drew in the corner tile. A home drawn with dark blue, in the top a purple cartoon plane with a stick figure with yellow hair.
“That’s you.” The little girl point’s at the stick figures with her auburn hair fiery orange. She drags her finger to the other corner.
Tapping a purple cartoon plane with a stick figure with yellow hair. “And that’s daddy.” She signed.
“I love it.” She signed with a smile. She envied how innocent she was in their bleak world, she was always grinning and running around their home. Piper gets to her feet leaving her to her 100 crayola pack.
It was hard to find activities to preoccupy the five year old, one’s that were silent the least. She still tried to educate her as much as she could, teaching her basic reading and which animal’s were which, one’s she would never see sadly.
The little girl had been too young to recall the trip to the zoo the two of them had taken.
She touches her braid, pulling her windbreaker close to herself. The calendar she kept read was the end of February and soon March would be approaching. She furrowed her brow, where the hell is he? She thinks.
She had given him the simple task of collecting anything that seemed edible, and batteries. It was a miracle that they even got a generator, much less a place to hold up.
Her friend had bought the place and planned to make it a functioning farm; he had let her stay there till everything ‘blew over’, she wished he had been right.
“Jake?” She signed, she shook her head. He can't even see you signing, she reminds herself.
Her heart dropped to her stomach at the flash of a brown jacket. She held her chest panting as she collected herself. He held his mouth, stifling his chuckle.
“Don't do that.” She scolded him, her eye’s hardened with irritation. He smirked his million dollar smirk.
“I'm sorry.” He start’s off, his motion’s quick. He’s been learning, she thinks through her annoyance.
“I just like seeing your squirm.” The blonde teased.
She shook her head, trying to contain her smirk. Even in a world where everything had gone silent, somehow it didn't silence him.
“I hate when you do that.” She scolded him. He shrugged his shoulders.
“Well I love when you do that.” He says, leaning closer to her face. She sighed, she quietly cleared her throat stepping back.
“What did you find?” She asks him. He turned around, stealthy removing five can’s from his bag, a bottle of jack daniel’s, a lighter and seasons.
She furrowed her brow picking up the whiskey. She raised a brow at his shopping choice.
“Really?” She signed. He smirked mischievous, she shook her head,
“How about this?” He challenged, she furrowed her brow, putting her hand on her hips. He reached inside of his bag slowly pulling something.
His hand grips a small tanned stuffed animal, its beady black eyes stare at her, its hair frizzy with a mane that rounded its entire head and tail, fake white fang’s sewn into the side of its muzzle.
Her frown slowly morphed into a warm smile. “This make it better?” Jake ask’s. She leaned her head sideways.
“Maybe.” Piper signed, he smirked at her. He knew the world was starting to take its toll on her.
Night’s weren't easy, she would wake in cold sweat, panting trying to let out a scream, she knew she couldn't.
“This keep me from sleeping on the couch?” He wondered, she shrugged her shoulders, stepping forward.
“No bet on that flyboy.” She teased him. He held his chest in dramatic fashion.
“Ouch.” He mouthed, she shook her head wrapping her arms around his neck pulling him closer to her.
His green eyes studied her as she gazed into his. His hair had grown out in the two years of their new world, before he had it well groomed to meet the standard’s of the Navy, his face no longer clean, his blonde beard now similar to a cowboy of spaghetti western. She couldn't complain though, she liked how he looked. She just wished he would keep up with the hygiene.
“You need a shave.” Piper signed. He scoffed at her signals. “Are you gonna do it for me?” He asks with a smirk.
“Who else would.” She joked. He shook his head pecking the auburn hair girl on the lips, she smiled. The sound of a quiet gagging noise causes the two to pull away from each other. At the end of the isle stood Alice, pointing at her tongue at their physical affection.
The two adults smiled at each other. She removes her arms from around his neck, walking over to the little girl.
“Are you finished drawing?” She asked her. She nodded her head, with a toothy grin.
“Get your stuff, don't go far okay.” She asked her. She patted her on her polka dotted puffer coat.
Piper looked back at the blonde man, looking down at her feet sadly then at him.
“Pack this all up.” She order’s, he mocks her.
She rounded up smaller thing’s into her bag. The walk back to their home was going to be a long one, she had made sure to find duct tape for her tom’s. Jake had given her tip’s on how to not attract the creature’s attention.
The three begin to exit the rundown pharmacy. Piper adjusted her beanie, tucking bit’s of her braid into the edge’s. Jake grunted bending down picking up the five year old little girl, placing her on his hip as they started their long walk back. Strolling past the abandoned building’s of what used to be the surrounding small town near San Diego.
⏁⏁⏁
SHE SCRUBBED AWAY in the water at the dishes, one of her humane chore’s that she used to enjoy most of the time became a dreaded one. To keep thing’s silent in their household, she had to wash them in water in the sink. They did have running water, which they only ran for their shower’s,for their dishe’s they stuck to fetching it from a well five miles from the property.
She adjusted her ponytail, wiping the sweat from her forehead. A hand gently set a cup deep into the water, she whipped her head.
“Sorry.” He signed with thin lined smirk.
“It’s okay.” Piper reassured him, she didn't have the energy to be mad. He looked down at the dirty soapy water, she huffed running her green sponge through the lukewarm water.
“Stop.” He signs.
She furrowed her brow. “Why?” She asks him. His lip’s formed a thin line. “Because I want to.” He tells her, she raised a brow.
“I want to help.” He sign’s to her mouthing the words.
She sighed, handing over the green sponge, he smirked as she leaned on the kitchen island. She looked over to the living room, Alice sat on the floor, playing quietly with her doll’s near a gas lantern that illuminated her area with an orange glow.
The sun outside had set, the sky filled with dark clouds and the star’s painted the night. Silent, like always, not for the occasional bird chirping, too high for the creature’s to kill, she guessed. He placed the final plate down on the towel.
He turned around leaning on the sink, She stared off deep in thought. He stands in front of the auburn hair woman.
“Are you okay?” He asked.
She shakes her head. “No.” Piper admit’s, her shoulders tensed as she leaned off the island. His brows furrowed.
“What’s on your mind?” He asked worriedly. She licked her lip’s crossing her arms.
“I saw those symbol’s again.” She signed to him, he raised a brow.
“Where?” Jake asked her, she sighed heavily.
“Back of the grocery store.” She tells him. She knew there were rumor’s on the radio of a group killing people they deem too loud for the new world. They had gained the nickname ‘The Bandits’, over parts of the town she would see on wall’s initials, SDB, written in dark brown ink or what she thought was ink.
“They're getting closer to us.” She state’s, his eyes softened at her worry.
“They don't know we are here.” He reassures her, she shakes her head.
“But what if they do.” She says, her brown eye’s beginning to welt over with tears in the corners. He shakes his head, stepping closer to her, taking her hands.
“They don't.” He signed with one hand, she gulped looking him in his eyes.
“If they find out we are here–they will do something bad.” Piper admits to him, she looked over into the living room where her daughter sat playing, unaware of their conversation.
She looks back to him. “What if they try to..hurt her.” She stumbled over her signing. He shook his head.
“We won't let that happen.” Jake reasure’s her.
“Nothing else matters to me more than her.” Piper tells him. Her heart skipped a beat, she could see the fear flash for a moment in his face.
“If something happened to her, I couldn't live with myself.” She signed.
“I'm not gonna let them find us.” He swears, his fist balled as he signed to her. “And if they do.” He inhales deeply.
“They will regret fucking with the wrong family.” The blonde stated. Her frown slowly turned to a soft smile.
“What?” He signed, she covered her mouth, muffling her soft chuckle. “You sound like your old self, Flyboy.” She wrap’s one arm on his shoulder bringing him into an embrace. He smirks against her shoulder.
She brings her nose into his black shirt that clung to him. She thought it was strange how the world had to end to bring them closer, more than the day their daughter was born. She had barely seen him when he was in the Navy, he was always busy.
A loud crash brings them out of their embrace. Jake’s head snapped in the sound’s direction, seeing the flame’s from the gas lamp starting to spread, he quickly ran grabbing the dark blanket, throwing it on top of the fire, patting down extinguishing it.
The young girl looked up at him, her eyes widened as the silence filled the room again. Piper’s heart skipped a beat as it began to race, she didn't dare to move as she anticipated the sound of the inhumane roar’s hell bent on ending their disrupters. Jake slowly gets to his knees, quietly as possible.
Silence, dead silence. Piper glanced at her daughter, her eye’s widening as she looked to her father.He lightly got to his feet, looking all around at the farmhouse ceiling. His shoulders relaxed,He shook his head turning around.
BANG!.
She flinched, her heart dropping to her stomach. He brings his finger to his lips, signaling her to be quiet. Alice’s breath shake’s as her eye’s darted between her parent’s, her mother stood frozen with her mouth parted, her father slowly making his way to the window.
He leaned his head close to the cool glass. He looked to the roof, he looked down at the ground.
Cries of a wild dog interrupted the silence, the brown and tan coyote scampered away knocking down trash. The couple let out a breath of relief, Alice ran on her tiptoes to her mother’s side, wrapping her arms around her tightly.
Her eye’s fell, as she looked down at her as she stroked her strawberry blonde hair. She wanted to whisper in her daughter’s ear that she was okay, that the monster’s were not gonna come back, that she was safe. Speaking was a grace that she had for three years of life, now it was all gone.
⏁⏁⏁
GENTLY SHE walked down the stairs, the watch on her wrist reading half past ten o’clock. She ran her hand through her hair, messy with wave’s from being in a braid for so long. She clung to the oversized plaid shirt that engulfed her figure, his clothes some of the time made up most of her wardrobe.
She slowly walked to the sliding door’s of the basement bathroom, it somehow being an almost safe room for them to be in, the rushing of the shower water drowning out their voice.
The air smelt of cedarwood filled in nostrils as she stood leaned on the doorway. The steam from the shower still lingering as she watched him apply aftershave. His beard now reduced to a stubble, his hair though remained untouched. He wiped the condensation from the mirror with his fist, her silhouette casted onto the hickory wall’s.
He smirked softly, facing her. A towel wrapped around his neck, only clothes remaining on him being his black sleep shorts. “What are you doing up?” He wonder’s.
She shrugged her shoulders nonchalantly. “Couldn't sleep.” She signs to him, he nods his head.
“How is she?” He ask’s, she sighed.
“Fine I think..at least what you could be in this place.” She tells him.
He looked her up and down, she wore a dark gray shirt with US NAVY written in bold font, and striped sleep shorts, paired with his red plaid shirt that she once swore she would return to him. He smiled softly.
“What?” She signed to him, her lip’s forming a thin line and smiled. He runs his fingers across the front of his face in clockwise motion, his fingers and thumb end at his chin. Beautiful, Her face grew beet red.
He shook his head, still smiling. “Nothing.” He says. She nodded her head at his secretiveness, he sighed, opening a draw, pulling out black and blue hair dress scissors. He motion’s them to her.
“I’ll do it.” She tells him. She quietly slid the door behind her shut, closing it with a rag in the way. The auburn hair woman, sit’s behind on the leather bench with her legs. He held up his finger for her to wait.
He leaned over, reaching in pulling the handle for the water, purposely setting it to cold. He sits on the floor with his back to her, leaning back into her. She gently takes her fingers through his hair, finding the dead end’s to cut off.
She carefully snipped off bit’s onto the violet towel.
“You know you could do this yourself.” Piper speak’s up softly, he chuckled.“Why would I do that?" He ask's her.
"You do it so much better.” Jake admit’s, his tone haughty. She rolled her eye’s playfullying as she continued to work away.
“Sure Flyboy.” She teased him, he smiled fondly at his nickname.
“You know you really should manage this hair better.” She joked, he shrugged.
“Don't know if you know darling but the world has ended.” He reminded her, and she shook her head again.
“I don't think these alien asshole’s care how pretty you are.” He joked, she smiled at his cockiness.
She raised a brow. “Did you just call yourself pretty?” Piper jested, he patted her leg making her laugh softly.
“Shut up.” He says, smiling.
She sighed sadly, she continued to trim away at his hair. Memories of the world before had started to wash over her. She longed for the day’s of them together on the beach under the sun, laughing and teasing each other. Or when she had first met him, a bad night in the ER sent her to the Hard Deck, dying for a drink. Next thing she knew, someone had sent a whiskey neat, she looked up from her glass locking eye’s with probably the most handsome she had ever seen, straight from GQ magazine cover. Things stayed that way for awhile before she got the confidence to say ‘Hello’, and the rest is history.
“Are you still taking her tomorrow?” He ask’s her, his tone lacking any loftiness. She sighed as she cut his wet hair.
“I am, she deserves it.” Piper tells him.
“Are you sure?” He ask’s.
“Yes, she needs the chance to be a kid, I remember loving the beach when I was her age.” She recall’s. “We didn't have what she does remember.” He point’s out.
“It doesn't matter, okay, I want her to be happy.” She proclaims. He nod’s his head, he sighed looking down at the floor.
“I know you do, and I want that it’s just.” He stops him mid-sentence. She furrowed her brow, he gulp’s.
“I know you don't care what happens to you.” He continues.
“But I do.” He admit’s, her heart skipped a beat in her chest. His vulnerability came in moment’s of them finally being able to speak with one another. She knew he hated not being able to talk, talking was how he won her over, how they got the sweet little girl who slept soundly upstairs.
“I just want you….I want you both to be safe.” He admit’s somberly. She sighed, reaching her hand down, he raised his hand lacing his finger’s with her’s. The ambience of the running water filling the room.
“You're not gonna lose us.” She whispers in his ear.
"You're not gonna lose me." She promised.
His grip on her hand tightened as he blinked away the tears he knew were fighting to escape. She sighed against the side of his head, the tiredness weighing heavy on her body. If things could stay this way forever she would accept in a heartbeat,peace with him and her daughter.
She inhales deeply as she sits back up, counting to cut at his hair. “When are you y’all leaving?” He asks breaking the ice, she clears her throat.
“Some time after lunch.” Piper tells him. “Beach is about a one hour walk.” She says she takes a handful of the end’s of his hair, trimming around the edge of ear’s.
She had experience cutting her own hair, not being able to afford a salon during college.
“Hope you make it back before it rain’s.” Jake say’s. She furrowed her brow.
“It’s not gonna rain.” Piper state’s, snipping the scissor’s loud,he scoffed. “Yeah it is.” He declares, she shook her head.
“And how do you know this?” Piper wonder’s, he sits up straighter. “I can smell it.” He tells her, she rolls her eyes playfully.
“Don't give me that southern superpower thing.” She joke’s. He rolled his eyes at her teasing.
“You can't smell rain.” She chuckled.
“Yeah I can, tell me a time when I was wrong.” He challenged, and she bit her lip.
“When you were on leave when we first started dating you said it was gonna storm.” Piper recall’s, he smirked.
“And?” His tone condescending. “And it was dry all week.” She state’s, he rolls his eyes.
“No it wasn't.” He says offended. She shrugged his shoulders.
“You want to question me while I have a sharp object in my hand.” She threatened, she clicked the scissor’s close with a snip.
He put his hand’s up in surrender. She smirked at her own victory, she trimmed around the last bit of his long hair, getting it down to a short easy to brush cut.
She runs her finger’s through, getting rid of the extra bit’s she missed.
He moaned softly at the feeling of fingers through his hair. She removed the towel from around his neck shaking out into the trash. She brings her arms wrapping them around his neck and torso.
She ran her cold hand down his chest, he shuddered as goosebumps ran down each part of his body. He held onto her arms leaning his head back against her leg, looking up at her.
Her nails grazed across his skin as she brought her hand to his cheek. She inhaled deeply as she began moving her lips against his.
She felt his eye lashes tickle her chin. Kissing him upside down was not ideal, though she had to admit it was very hot. His fingers caressed her face. She exhaled as he pulled away, his breath peppering her mouth.
He rolled over onto his knees. She barely had time to catch her own breath as his mouth met her's. She closed her eyes as she ran her fingers through his hair, pulling him closer.
His hand trailed down her waist, thumbing the edge of her shirt. The butterflies in her stomach went crazy as his calloused fingers grazed under her bare skin. She shivered.
He slowly pushed her back to the wall, her leg uncrossing, placing one leg around his waist. He ran his hand up her thigh, his fingers playing with the elastic of her sleep shorts.
She opened her eyes as it clicked in her head. "Jake." She says breathless, pulling away.
He kept his mouth busy as he peppering kisses down neck. She bit her lip stifling the moan that dared to escape her.
"Jake." She speaks up. He finally pulled away looking up at her, his eyes meeting her's.
"What?" He whispered. She sighed looking away at the water that still ran, she would deal with the mess later.
She looked back at him. "The noise." Piper whispers back. He shook his head.
"I can be quick, if you can" He promises, his southern drawl coming out. Her heart skipped a beat, she nodded, both of them continuing what they had started.
⏁⏁⏁
THE MUD SQUISHED under her shoe’s, her grip on Alice's hand not letting up with each step they took. Piper had taken protection with them, a knife that Jake had given her for her birthday last year, carving her initials into the leather of her holster. And a pistol, she knew there was a chance she wasn't going to use it because of the noise, but she knew with the bandit’s becoming a looming threat she couldnt be too careful.
Alice sighed bored as they passed more tree’s, they had stuck to the hiking path laid down for them by the park service, nothing entertaining for the five year old to really look at. Talking wasn't an option for them. Piper could hear the cry of bird’s growing louder,the crashing of waves more prevalent as they walked.
Before the world had ended, she had taken her to the beach plenty of time’s, only she wasn't old enough to remember it all.
Piper had grown up in Vermont, not even close enough to the ocean, she could recall when she first got to the beach, being twenty four and finally finishing nursing school it felt like she could take on anything that she drove straight into the freezing water.
The both of them come to a stop. She smiled softly overlooking the rocky cliff as the ocean wave’s crashed loudly below them. She turned to the strawberry blonde little girl, her jaw agape as she stared out to the shoreline.
“What do you think?” Piper signs to her daughter, she smiles at her mother.
“It's cool.” She says, nodding her head. She turned her head to the path stairs leading down. She looked back at her.
“Want it to get cooler?” She asked her, she nodded her head, with a flick of her fingers she gestured for her to follow her.
The wind whipped against her hair, throwing her braid all over. The cloud’s in the sky slowly turned gray as they walked down the cobble step’s. She was happy that the railing had not given way to the elements yet, as she hopped down after the last step, turning around and extending her hand for her daughter to take.
“Careful.” Piper signed with one hand. The strawberry blonde girl slowly got onto the rocky path.
The both of them in slow pace getting closer to the water that pulled in and out with a loud roar. She takes her back pack off, setting it on the dry sand, Alice following her lead. She puts her hand in front of daughter.
“Wait.” Piper speak’s up. Her green eyes widened in fear as she whipped her head all around. She gets on her knees in the sand getting to her daughter’s height, placing a hand on her shoulder.
She points at the ocean. “This is loud, they don't like it.” She explains to the frightened young girl.
“You don't have to be afraid, you are safe here.” Piper reassured, her voice soft as she looked her up and down. The wind kissing her cheek, she looked out at the ocean to her mother.
“Let’s get these shoe’s off.” She says, velcroing her neon purple straps, sitting them next to their backpack’s.
She unzips her own jacket tossing it to the side, Alice slid her polka dot jacket off onto her jacket.
Piper kicked off her tom’s, rolling up her pant leg to her knees. The two of them looked at each, she grinned as she picked her up by her arm’s running through the freezing water that stung at their legs. She laughed loudly as she spun around with her daughter, her heart pounding with excitement.
“Think fast!” Piper exclaimed as she flung water on her, she squealed, flinging the foam from the wave’s at her. She yelped in surprise at her return fire.
She looked up at the sky, the spring air cooled her as she extended her arms, taking in the moment of clarity.
Alice wrapped her arms around her mother’s waist, she sighed deeply as she place her hand on her shoulders holding her closely, the wave’s of the ocean pulling in and out around them as they remained in an embrace.
The two of them did all they could to enjoy their time on the beach. Alice constantly challenged her to a race to the rock’s and back, Piper didn't have to bother with letting her win as the young girl was much faster than she had expected. She went around the sand looking for sea shell’s for the both of them.
“Would daddy like this one?” Alice wonder’s holding up a gray and blue scallop seashell, she smiled.
“He would love it.” She tells her, she laughed as she stuffed her jean pocket. Piper imagined them filled to the brim.
The one good day she could give her meant more than anything. She knew that the young girl couldn't have the childhood that either of parents had.
Running around in the grass and hanging out during the summer with friend’s. Staying out past curfew to be scolded, playing on the playground and seeing how high she could climb to see over the city.
She sat at the edge of the shoreline, using a toothpick she had brought along to draw in the damp sand.
She drug the sharp wood across the top, letting her hand decide the picture she wanted. Alice sat criss crossed quietly digging in the sand.
Piper’s eyes widened as she suddenly remembered. She walked over to her backpack, unzipping it. She walked back over, sitting in front of the strawberry blonde girl.
“I got you something.” She says, she looked up, excitement in her emerald eyes. “What is it?!” She asked curiously with her toothy grin.
“Close your eyes.” She tells her, her shoulders slumped annoyed.
“Why?!” She groaned.
“Just do it.” She says. She rolled her eyes as she told her.
“No peeking.” Piper state’s, she brought her little hands covering her face. She pulling the object out from behind her back, she gently removed her hand’s from her petite face, placing a soft brown toy in the palms.
“Open.”Her green eyes fluttered, her grin widened as she looked at the fluffy mane of the cuddly stuffed toy.
“For me?” She wondered.
“Yes, it's your’s.” She confirmed. She squealed in excitement as she held the toy close to herself in embrace. Her heart ached at her joy, she spun around on her heel’s landing on her knees in the sand.
“Thank you Thank you!” She gushed. She wrapped her arms around her neck, she gasped in surprise, she bring’s a hand to her back holding her closely. Alice’s shoulder’s tensed up as she slumped against her mother.
She pulled away as she thumbed the of the snout of the lion, its beady black eyes staring up at her.
“Ally?” She say’s warmly.She doesn't answer, playing with the wet sand. Her green eyes softened.
“What’s the matter?” Piper asked in concern.
“I’m sorry.” Alice say’s fiddling with a small sand castle. She furrowed her brow confused. “For what, baby?” She wonder’s.
“The monster’s found us last night.” Alice admit’s, Piper shook her head, the five year old girl looked down at her bare feet.
“No it's not your fault.” She tells her warmly, she sits her toothpick down.
“I made a noise..” She stammered as a tear rolled down her cheek. She shook her head. The woman slide’s over the sand, bringing her young girl into an embrace.
“Alice, it wasn't your fault.” Piper whisper’s into her ear, softly stroking her hair.
“Don't blame yourself for anything like that, not ever.” Her voice was smooth, she pulled away placing her hand on her daughter’s shoulders.
“This world is a scary place.”She tells the little girl. Her green eyes glistened with tears at the edges. She shakes her head gulping.
“But you are so..so much bigger and braver than it.” She stammered.
“You are so brave Ally, and you are so strong.” She brings her hand’s to her face, gently cupping her cheek. Her pink little lip’s form a thin line smile, Piper’s used her thumb brushing a strand of hair away from her face.
“We should go.” Piper say’s getting to her feet,the cloud’s above grew darker, puffing up with each end. The sound of rumbling above in the darkness.
“Mommy.” She spoke up.
She turned her head at her, “Someone’s watching us.” she pointed. Her brown eyes widened in fear looking at the ridge.
The shadow of a stranger peeked through the fog that had begun to roll in with the storm above.
“Alice.” Her voice stern with the five year old, she looked back at her.
“Grab your things, right now.” She ordered, she furrowed.
“Why? Who is that?” The little girl wonder’s. Her brown eye’s stare down the stranger on the hill.
“No one good.” She answered. She hustled around grabbing her bag’s, pulling her jacket back on.
Piper didn't waste any time with grabbing her daughter’s hand, her pace in walking faster then her own daughter. She held her hand on the little girl , she knew that anyone who wasn't her boyfriend or was someone she once considered friend was a danger to them. The alien’s were a concern but they weren't what scared her.
Drop lits began to drizzle onto her coat, the dirt slowly turning into mud with each step they took. She eyed the tree’s on each side, scanning for danger’s each direction. Maybe she was being paranoid, and that she was wrong about the bandit’s.
Thunder rumbled above them, Alice’s grip on her mother’s finger tightened at the sound. Should have left earlier, she thinks. Alice hated storm’s, Piper found it ironic as the night she was born a typhoon struck the coast of Southern California.
A storm so dangerous that it flooded most of the valley leaving so much debris, and destruction that it was like a wonderland.
She panted as she continued to speed walk through the pines. Piper used one hand to pull her hood over her head. CLICK.
She stop’s dead in track’s extending her palm in front of her daughter.
Her brown eyes drifted down to her ankle, a thin line of metal pushed right against her, hooked up to a tree. She didn't dare to move to find out what it was rigged too. She gulped looking down at the strawberry blonde girl at her waist, she shook her head.
“Don't move.” Piper mouthed, her eye’s fearfully looking at her, nodding at her order’s.
The squishing of mud under feet catches her attention, she looks up seeing two men wearing black clothes and bandanas hiding their faces from them.
They smirked sinisterly at her, eyeing the young woman and the little girl. The blue bandana pulled out a knife from his pocket, shiver’s run down her spine seeing the dried brown on the blade.
Hair’s on her neck stood to attention as she felt the hot breath of another person breathing behind her. She lifted her hand’s up surrender to the stranger’s, the lack of sunlight couldn't help her determine how many were behind her.
“Which one do you want?” The red bandana sign’s to the blue one, she guessed one of them was the leader of their group.
Red’s eye’s trailed over to the auburn hair woman, looking at her buttoned up henley shirt, the clothing around his mouth moving in a circular motion.
“I like redheads.” He signs, her blood ran cold at their signing. Her eyes darted to her right, another man with a black bandana stood next to her.
Her chest heaved up and down as her heart began to race.
She wasn't sure what they would do to her, but to her daughter she could get an awful image. There were no more law’s or legal systems, a perfect world for sick people like these men.
“Take the big one to the hill.” Blue order’s, red’s brow’s furrowed looking at the little girl next to her.
Red bandana looked Alice up and down, he stepped up to her, getting down to her height. Her green eyes flooded with tears at the strange man.
His dirty hand took the lion toy out of her hand’s. Piper’s hand shook with rage seeing his dirty nail’s touching the toy hand picked for her daughter from the man she loved. She knew what to do now.
“This one is mine.” Blue signed, her little face shook frightened.
Piper stepped forward with a click of the trip wire, a collection of bottle’s tied together collapsed down with a loud clunk, the men’s eyes widened at the sound. Piper growled as she plunged her knife into the jugular of the black bandana.
“Run!” Piper whispered to Alice, she grunted as her feet kicked up mud running away. The auburn hair woman swung her fist into the face of the blue bandana before she ran alongside her daughter.
The two of them panting as they jumped over bit’s of twig’s and green’s, sticking to the path they had followed and the one they had created. Piper looked over her shoulder, the shadow’s of the tree’s of people following right not far behind.
Piper grunted, grabbing Alice’s shoulders, holding her closely in a bridal style.
Alice’s strawberry blonde hair whipped against her face, the rain had started to become less of drizzle and more of a sprinkle. She looked down at her feet, her footprints in the mud clear with each step.
She duck’s behind a tree, setting her little girl down. She panted with her back against the tree as her mother set her backpack down on the ground.
“You need to run!” Piper signed frantically. She shook her head. “No!” Alice signed.
“Stay on the path, find your daddy.” Piper declared. Her green eye’s bore into her dark brown eyes. “No.” She repeated.
“You have to run, or they will find you.” She orders her, she shakes her little head. “I can't leave you.” She signed her lip quivering.
“I cant– “Alice Seresin.” She whispered and interrupted her, she held her face. She took a deep breath.
“You are so brave..and sp strong, and I need you to do this.” She whispered.
Fear flashing over her face. Tears falling from eye, twig’s snap her heart racing faster. She brought her lip’s to her forehead, inhaling her scent. She pulled away admiring her daughter one last time.
“I love you so much.” Piper’s voice breaking,She pulled away admiring her daughter one last time. She sniffled, taking a deep breath.
“Now..RUN!” She ordered. Her hair whipped in the wind as she darted away from her mother. Piper gulped as her throat tightened. She removes her knife from her holster, huffing as she turned around marching through the tree
⏁⏁⏁
THE MEN STOOD PANTING. Blue bandana stepped forward looking at the three remaining men. He kicked the dirt in anger, pacing back and forth over the cliff that overlooked the beach.
“Where did the big one go?” Red whisper’s. Blue shook his head. “Who gives a fuck!” He signs. The three men flinched at his anger, he throws his cap off his head.
“The little one, get me the little one!” Blue order’s pointing his finger at the red bandana, he nodded his head turning around following the path. The two remaining men looked at their leader, he ran a hand through his greasy hair.
“What are you gonna do with her when you get her?” Yellow bandana wonder’s, he shook his head.
“That’s for me to know.” He tells him.
“What about the big one, are we gonna auction her?” Purple bandana asks. He rolled his eyes at his question.
“Fuck her, she killed one of our own.” Blue say’s, shaking his head.
“She could be more useful than the little one.” Yellow point’s out. Blue grabs him by the neck holding him tightly.
“I dont fucking want her..get me the little one.” He whispers in his ear’s.
A gurgling sound interrupts both men. They snapped their head’s seeing purple grabbing at his throat as blood drenched his coat as he fell to the ground. With a grunt she removed her blade, she stood up looking at both men. Her eyes burned with anger at the blue bandana.
She pointed her knife at him. “You.” She signed.
Yellow eyes the woman, he charged at her, he swung his fist at her. She huffed dodging it, hooking her arm under his, he groaned in pain at the fiery hot pain of the knife plunging into his shoulder blade.
She knee’s his gut shoving him onto the ground. Blue smirked at her, slowly clapping silently at her. She vibrated with anger at his mockery.
“Now what?” he signed.
“You die.” Piper signed. He smirked at her threat, he stepped forward in a challenging manner. “Are you sure about that?” He questioned. She grunted, swinging her blade.
He jumped back, she huffed, swinging her fist in his direction, missing again. She groaned as fiery pain spread across her face, the impact of his punch disorienting her. The rain began to become heavier as the two of them fought.
She grunt’s locking his head in hold, punching him in the gut repeatedly. He grunted in effort pulling at her raincoat, removing it from her entirely. Shegasped as he pulled himself out of her hold, shoving her into the mud. Blue bandana spit’s out blood onto the ground.
“Bitch.” He grumbled, she wiped her nose as the copper taste filled her mouth. She pat’s her holster looking for her knife, her eyes widened as she couldn't feel the ebony handle.
“Shit.” She mouthed. She flip’s onto her feet, she rushed at him tackling him with the full force her body could muster, their body’s slammed onto the cold rock wet rocks.
Piper cough’s holding her rib cage, his grimy hands shoving her face onto the concrete.Anger boiled inside of her at the feeling of his nail’s digging into her cheeks.
“Fucking die already.” He grumbled, the pressure on her back becoming heavier. On the ground a reflection from an object shined her way. She shouts failing her legs in each direction, he exclaimed frustrated.
She reached out her hand for the shiny object, she gasped for air as her rib cage began to feel smaller. Her wet finger’s lace through the handle hole, she pulled it closer to herself. In effort she rolled shoulder’s spinning around.
He cried out in pain, cupping his cheek as blood began to seep out. She stood on her feet looking at the man. She shook herself off as the adrenaline pumped through her body. He yells as he runs at her, she yelps moving out of the way.
Piper turned around only to be met with a blow to the face. Her back smacked the rock’, closer and closer to the edge the both of them dualed, her knife dropped to the ground with a clink as the man got on top of her gripping her wrist.
“You just giving up, sweet thing.” His voice sneered at her, his hand slowly trailing to the button of her henley shirt, he groaned closing his eyes as his dirty fingernails pulled away the clothing separating the piece. She grunted against his weight.
He mumbled as he leaned his head back as he countied to work on the top of her shirt. Thunder cracked above her making her heart skip a beat, she turned her head, her blade laid only an inch away from her. Without hesitation her hand gripped the handle as she brought it to chest.
He gasped loudly, falling back onto the ground. Piper yelped as she crawled onto him, cutting through him with multiple blow’s, each time letting out a yell of rage. He gurgled, coughing up blood onto her face.
An inhuman cry pulled her out of her trance. She snapped her head watching the tree’s pull apart as they got closer. She pushed herself out of the way.
⏁⏁⏁
ALICE PANTED as she kept running along the pathway, her sketcher’s covered in the mud as the rain began to get heavier. The farmhouse laid in plain sight as she got closer to the fence line, only a few more step’s.
Thunder rumbled loudly, she flinched at the sound but countied to run. She had stopped only twice to catch her breath, she couldn't let her mother down, she need to find her father, to safety.
Her strawberry blonde hair bit’s were sticking to her wet cheek’s. She held her hand at her hips as she stopped finally at the white fence. On the porch, her father sat on the swing, the rain pouring as he took in the sound’s.
Her mother’s word’s sound in her head, they don't like loud sounds, water was loud at the beach, maybe it’s loud now.
“Dadd-!” Her voice interrupted as a hand clamped down on her mouth. She struggled against the person that drugged her, her screams muffled as she desperately cried for her father.
“Quiet!” The voice snapped, she grunted elbowing her kidnapper in the gut, she bit into the finger of the stranger hard. He shouted in pain as he let go of her.
“Little brat!” He grumbled.
The man cladded in red is brought to the ground. Alice gasped in surprise as a blonde man held him to the ground, making repeated blows to the face. He turned looking over his shoulder at her.
“Alice, go!” Jake order’s, she nodded her head sprinting away. His green eyes darkened as he held the man by his shirt. Rain poured down on the both of them, soaking his black long sleeve shirt.
“Who the fuck are you?!” He questioned in fury, the man smirked up at him. He shouts as she punches him. “Who are you!?” He demanded once again.
He doesn't answer. Jake growls' shoving his head against the ground. “Where’s my wife?!” He demand’s.
The man gripped the handle of his blade pulling out. Jake gripped the man’s wrist redirecting his aim, he held one hand over his mouth as he stabbed him in the gut. His cries of agony muffled by him.
“Tell me where she is?!” Jake ordered. His teeth turned red as his smirk widened at his violence. His nose scrunched up as he twisted the blade.
“Tell me!” He fumed.He coughed, spitting blood straight up at him.
“Dead..silent..like us like you will be.” He gurgled through his attempts to laugh. Jake shook his head.
“Just you.” He declares. He coughed once more as his breath slowly became a wheeze before he finally exhaled. Jake wiped his face with the back of his hand, throwing off the blood onto the ground.
He got to his feet, he grunted as he ran back to the house. His boot’s heavy on the wood as he got inside the house.
“Daddy!” A small voice exclaimed.
she wrapped her arms tightly around his waist, thunder rumbling louder outside. He sighed in relief, getting to his knees wrapping his arms around the little girl.
“Thank god you're okay.” He whispered into her ear, He panted, breathing heavily. Holding her as close to him as he could. Her wet hair draped across his neck, her little face wet from tears and rain.
“Alice.” He speaks up, her breath shake’s as he pulls away, he holds her shoulders gently.
“Are you hurt, did he hurt you?” He ask’s her, she shakes her head.
He brushed back a piece of her wet hair.” Alice.” He say’s softly, her green eye’s meet his.
“Where’s mommy?” He wonder’s. She began to pant looking at the screen door, his heart fell to his stomach. He blinked as the color drained from his face.
“Oh god..oh god.” He pant’s.He gets to his feet, only being stopped by a small hand gripping his.
“Don't go!” She exclaimed. He glanced between his daughter and the door. “Please.” She pleaded.
He inhaled deeply. “I won't.” He promised. He runs a hand through his hair, collecting his thoughts.
“Let’s get you cleaned up.” Jake sniff’s, taking her small hand in his leading her downstairs.
Alice’s expression remained bleak, the once happy five year old who had so much to show the world driven into silence. Not even her father playing with her in the bathtub, making funny noises, brought her out.
Jake didn't want to admit to himself but knew she had experienced something awful.
He pulled her blanket over her, staying next to her as she slowly fell asleep. The storm outside didn't settle down even as she slumped against his chest. Many things were running through his mind, like what had happened when he wasn't with them, why did these bastard’s come for his family, and where is his wife.
He slowly got out of the small twin size bed, placing the purple starry comforter back over her. Sleepy soundly, he walked out of the room quietly shutting the door behind him.
His breath shake’s as he walks down the steps to the living room.
He looked around the farmhouse, the fireplace cracking and popping, the rumble of thunder outside disrupting the coziness of the home. It felt empty, he felt empty, half of his heart was gone. It was his fault, he let her leave when he knew the danger of the world was the monster’s.
Not the monster’s who hunt for sport at just the sound of a twig snapping, the real monster’s who got the sick pleasure of destroying the lives of others.
He bends down on the floorboard, sliding away the board feeling around the cabinet below for the old wood handle. He grunt’s slowfully removing the remington rifle from the space, he opened the barrel to see it was still fully loaded since he found it.
The former pilot stand’s up, in a steady pace outside to the front porch.
Lightning cracks across the sky as the rain continues its rage against the earth. In one hand he held the gun in the other, the Jack Daniel's he was scolded for finding, he sits on the wooden chair.
Staring at the dirt road paved with sand to silence their step’s. Keeping her safe was all he had now, he wasn't gonna let anyone or anything take what he had left. Thunder rumbled across the setting spring sky, his finger on the trigger ready.
A snap of a branch bring’s him out, he stood to attention, cocking the gun. His breathing steady as his heart raced in his ears. His eyes trained on the dark road, a silhouette stumbled his way. Their hair is braided, wet and tangled. He could make out the shadow of a blade in their hand, and in the other a stuffed animal.
They limped closer, the lamp on the wood post illuminating a yellow and orange hue on their face. His green eyes widened in realization, he dropped the gun in a dash towards her.
She gasped in shock at the sudden impact of his embrace. The knife fell from her hand’s, her free one around his neck.
Piper’s chest heaved up and down, shivering from the cold. Salty tear’s mix with the earthy water that fell on them. He whispered in her ear a mixture of apologies.
“You were right.” She breathed out, he furrowed his brow. “Right about what?” He ask’s, his green eyes watered over.
“It rained.” She chuckled weakly, he shook his head, his laugh vibrating against her shoulder. “I hate that.” She admit’s with a small smile.
“You love it.” Jake whispered, she nodded against him.
"Get me inside, please.” Piper pleaded with him. He complied with her order’s, latching his arm’s under her as she went limp in exhaustion.
⏁⏁⏁
SHE SAT on her side of their bed, her damp hair draped over her gray tank top. Her body shivered even with his jacket on her, her shirt had become less of a beige color and more of dirty brown from the blood.
“This is gonna sting.” He tells her, she wasn't used to being patched up, she usually did the first aid. He dabbed the alcohol soaked rag against her split knuckle. She could feel the multiple bruises growing on her body, and she knew for sure when thing’s cooled down she was more than likely gonna be sick.
She grit her teeth. “Fuck.” Piper swear’s, the thunderstorm allowed them to talk, she was thankful for once for him to be right about the rain.
He smirked. “Threw a hell of a punch.” Jake commented, her lips formed a thin line.
She tried not to think about what had happened.
“Yeah, and got a bruised rib to add to it.” She chuckled weakly, he pulled out a bandage from her first aid bag. His calloused hands maneuvered with the roll, beginning to wrap the cloth around her hand. “I taught you well.” Piper say’s, he smirked.
“I'm a quick learner.” He reminds her, she sighed leaning her head back.
“I don't doubt that Flyboy.” Her voice raspy, she sniffed. She gazed at his face, dried blood at the edge of nose, and furrowed her brow.
“Are you okay?” She ask’s.
His green eyes looked up at her. “Are you really asking me that?” Jake wonder’s, her hand caressed his face, warm to the touch.
“Did they fucking find you?” Piper demand’s from him, he looks down continuing to clean her up.
“Jake.” She says, he blink’s looking back at her. She reached down, groaning as she pulled out alcohol wipes beginning to dab away the crimson.
“You shouldn't be doing this for me.” He says. She shook her head. “Too bad, I am.” She says, holding his cheek with one hand. “Piper.” He says, she shook her head. “Doesn't seem broken.” She tells him.
“Pip-”You should be careful wiping around here though.” She interrupts, he take’s both of his hands, removing her hand’s from his face, looking at her.
“Please stop.” He pleaded with her, she exhaled in exhaustion. “I’m sorry.” Piper whisper’s, she leaned her forehead against.
“God, I'm so tired.” She breathed out. She inhaled his scent as she hugged him. “It’s okay.” He whispers as he wraps his arm around her as she closes her eye’s, her head slumped against his shoulder. Her skin was cold and damp as he lowered her back into their bed. He holds her close to him, not letting her go. The storm outside begins to die down becoming a drizzle, he leaned over her body, turning off the gas lamp that lit the entire room.
a hopeless romantic all my life.
⇒ osamu x hopeless romantic!reader
summary : struggling to find your true love, you decide to give up on searching for a relationship, turns out the phrase “love finds you when you aren’t looking.” has some merit to it.
warnings : none that i can tell!
genre : fluff , self indulgent asf, maybe a little tiny hint of hurt/comfort?
a/n : sick of men disappointing me, literally am never confessing to a guy ever again. WHY ARE THE MEN IN AUSTRALIA SO LAME WAAAAAAAA
w/c : 1.5k
you were first introduced to love through fairytales and fantasies at the age of five. by the age of 8 you believed you’d get your own fairytale love, you’d expressed your biggest dreams and wishes to the pearly white star in the sky. by the age of 13 you were determined to fall in love with your soulmate, full of hopes that he existed and was searching just as impatiently for you.
by the age of 19 you realised fairytales were a scam and that cupid would not be shooting you, or the stranger who offered his parking spot during your parallel parking struggles, with his blessed arrow of love. you’d done everything to make the process easier for that big-cheeked baby with the heart shaped bow. dating apps and school clubs, confessing to every guy you had feelings for, begging your friends to put in a good word with the cute guy in their class, yet nothing ever stuck.
so you gave up, if cupid wasn’t going to give you the romance anime love you craved so badly, you’d stop trying so hard. you resigned from putting any more time or effort into love, so sure that it wasn’t real and was not worth searching for.
and yet, here you are standing in front of the miya osamu, the cute chef in training at the restaurant owned by your uncle. so maybe the onigiri’s he’d given you during every visit were his way of expressing his affections for you, or maybe he genuinely needed someone to try out his recipes as he worked his way through his culinary course and his job at the ramen store. either way, your heart fluttered as he stared at you.
“i- uh…” your mouth opened and closed in shock, as you tried processing everything that just happened within the short span of five minutes.
8 year old yn would be kicking her feet in excitement, and 13 year old yn would be in awe that someone as handsome and as hardworking as osamu was interested in you. 18 year old yn would’ve been certain that you’d never see the day someone would turn the tables and confess to you instead.
“i’m sorry, it was all kind of sudden, i know. a-and i understand if you're off put by it or if you’re just not interested but-” he stopped his rambling as he noticed the wide grin slowly forming on your face, a bright and genuine smile that made his heart skip a beat and his face feel ten times hotter than it did a moment ago.
“‘samu, i’d love to get to know you better, maybe we could go on a date? when you’re free of course!”
“a date? a date! yes, okay— i’ll get back to you on when i’m free, could i- uh, get your number?”
and with that you secured a possible date with the boy who had been nothing more than your uncle’s apprentice. you made your way home with a satisfied smile on your face and a heart pumping loudly with the adrenaline that still courses through you. nothing could ruin your mood in that moment.
—
two weeks of radio silence from the man who confessed, two weeks of false hope and tears in your room, left to comfort and berate yourself all alone. you felt so stupid, to be crying over some guy who just happened to feed you the best onigiri and ramen you’d ever eaten and had made you feel so special, you just couldn’t convince yourself that he wasn’t worth your time or tears.
you avoided your uncle’s shop for a few weeks in hopes of avoiding samu in the process, however, after two more weeks of that, your luck had run out. your mother left you with the task of delivering the aprons she’d fixed up for the cozy little ramen store.
begrudgingly, you picked up the stack of folded aprons, holding them under your arm as you huffed and puffed all through your journey to the infamous shop.
from the outside, the place brought a great sense of comfort, a paper lantern to the right of the door that emitted a soft glow and warmth if you got close enough. the tiles to the roofing were a midnight grey and the two windows on the front of the shop had the curtains drawn halfway, still allowing you to see the orange glow of the interior lights. the smell of the freshly made ramen had you salivating, the strong smell of sesame oil or the sizzling of the meat being grilled had you reaching for the handle before you could second guess your decision.
“uncle! i brought your aprons—” the man on the other side of the door was, unfortunately, not your uncle. instead, samu stood over the grill with one hand on his hip, the other using a wooden paddle to push around the meat in front of him. samu glanced at the door before looking back down at the food.
“he isn’t here today, sprained his wrist this morning and asked me to watch over the store for the night.”
you blinked, once, twice before deflating. “oh… i’ll just leave the aprons in the back then…” awkwardly, you coughed before shuffling past him and the bar into the back room where the security and staff room was.
with a sigh you dropped the aprons on the cluttered table, not paying any mind to what it fell on or knocked over. what a dick you thought as you ruminate over the short interaction you just had with the main cause of all your dilemmas in the past two weeks. he barely even glanced at you!
you huffed, pouting as you pushed the door open, ready to just ignore his existence and scurry home as quickly as possible. but of course, the universe liked using you as its favourite punching bag, and so instead of sneaking your way out of the store that once brought you great comfort, you run straight into the sturdy and broad chest of the one and only osamu miya.
he stared down at you quietly, a furrow in his brows and his lips pursed. he stared deeply into your eyes with a mix of concern and frustration, he took a deep breath before he finally broke the staring battle.
“if you weren’t interested, you could’ve told me that day, you didn’t need to give me a fake number.” osamu’s voice was quiet, the disappointment and sadness seeping through his words.
you gaped up at him, the audacity of this man! he was the one who stood you up, and yet you’re being blamed?
“i messaged you everyday, miya. don’t act like i was the one who wasn’t interested, when you were the one who ignored me.”
“what? what are you talking about, you never messaged me!” he fished his phone out, opening up the messaging app and forcefully pushed his phone into your hands, the message thread between the two of you being left empty save for the few messages he had sent.
“…wait what?” you mumbled to yourself, pulling your own phone out to show him your own messages.
the two of you stared down at the screens in confusion, you opened the contact information for both of you, staring down at the numbers.
“this is your number right, osamu?” you held your phone up at him, while you looked down at his phone to confirm your number.
…confirm that it was in fact not the right number.
“osamu… why is my number wrong?” you look up at the man incredulously, as he reciprocated the look. “i could ask you the same thing.” he grumbled.
you both stood in silence for a few seconds before he let out a relieved laugh. hand wiping down his face as he walked backwards towards the cooking area. you followed quietly, mind reeling at the thought that this was most likely just a huge misunderstanding.
“i guess maybe in the excitement we both just mistyped the numbers? thank god, you almost broke my heart yn!”
your scoff was mixed with a laugh as you sat on the stool by the bar. “speak for yourself, i was crying for a good week, almost two.” you sheepishly rubbed your cheeks in hopes that your embarrassment would disappear.
the two of you talked as he worked throughout the night, ending it off with him walking you home and giving his actual number, double checking that it was right by calling him before he left. when you walked through the door of your house, you kicked off your shoes in the entrance in excitement, hopping up the short platform and sprinting to your room.
you dropped onto your bed with a squeal, feeling all the emotions of love and envy exploding within you like fireworks. you could feel your younger self applauding you for not messing things up and cheering you on as you worked towards accomplishing her dreams.
with a sigh you glanced outside the window, staring at the bright star in the night sky. “sorry for not believing in you, thanks for listening to my wishes…” you smiled softly before reaching for your phone, pulling open samu’s contact.
‘so, about that date. what about a trip to the aquarium?’
Hi
can you guys forgive me for neglecting you severely
here's more food, person in my metaphorical basement.
He always thought you knew him better than this. But when he saw your face crumble from one of determination into complete despair, he didn't really know how to feel. You surely had splinters and scrapes all on the bottom of your bare feet. Such soft and warm skin ruined for something as stupid as a failed escape attempt. It's hard to escape a house in the middle of the woods with the tightest twists and turns everywhere you look for the next 30 miles.
He wasn't playing when he said no one would find you. You were heaving, scrambling to leave once more, and he just watched you fail to escape, a pitied look on his face. He appeared magically in front of you again and you screamed in anger.
"Just let me go!! Please- I just- I can't be here anymore. No more...no more."
Your shouts turn into ugly slobs and slurring as you clench his pants, head hanging as you cry.
G Sans stares down at you as you break down. He didn't know much about humans. Always ignored them, kept his distance. The surface wasn't much of a home. At least, the humans didn't treat him like he was a part of what is supposed to be his home. But when he caught eye of you, he wanted to make it work. He wanted to talk to you. He wanted to be near you. So he took you. It didn't seem like anyone would come find you, anyways. They'd ignore your existence like they did his.
But he didn't know a thing about comfort. Feeding you, bathing you every day, doing your hair. You were a high maintenance species and he's learning that the hard way. But for you, he would deal with it just to find the way to treat you the way you needed to be treated. Even if it means finding you outside trying to leave him again. He loves you.
Today, he learned that not only do you need your hair tamed every day, fed 3 times a day, bathed at least once a day, have your teeth brushed twice a day, and go through whatever tasks you want to in order to busy yourself. But you also need social interactions to remain sane. Or at least that's what you say. But he knows that you're kind of saying that to find a way to be released back with the rest of society. But you've already been kidnapped and he doesn't need you spilling crucial information for how you met him in the first place. So, for the first time, he told you no.
"You're a fuckin' handful, sweetheart." G's voice was deep and gravely. It made you sick to your stomach every time he spoke. Haunts your dreams and fucks up your morning when he wakes you for breakfast. He pulls his pack of cigarettes out and picks out his second stick of the day, lighting it. It was pitch black in the woods, so the lighter accentuated his facial features when he flicked it to life. Smoke rose from the end of the stick and he put away the lighter, inhaling what couldn't hurt him before exhaling.
He teleports the both of you to his large bathroom and starts the faucet, hot water shooting out into the tub. "What soap do you want today? Mint? Lavender?" He digs through the cabinet under the sink and pulls out a few for you to choose from. When he turns, you're there on the ground, staring out into space, ignoring him. You looked shitty.
"Lavender it is." He pours the soap into the water, the light scent wafting throughout the bathroom. When he puts it away, he grabs a towel for you and walks over to you. It was only then, that you smack away his hands when he reaches down to help you stand. "Don't FUCKING touch me." G sighs and kneels down to talk to you. "Honey, I'm just trying to help. You look like shit and I know your feet hurt, so just let me take care of you, okay?"
He ignores the tears welling up in your eyes and brings you to your feet. He softly tells you to get undressed and you do. When you step into the tub, G has already turned the faucet off and your muscles relax at the heat surrounding you. G gets rid of the cigarette before starting to wash you.
He gently gets rid of the dirt and grime on your body for the next thirty minutes. It's until he dresses you and brings you to bed that you realize that you can never escape him. The house he owns his humongous, hard to navigate without him, you can't cook anything with the ingredients he has, but he somehow can. And you certainly can't escape. It's over for you and don't even wait until he leaves the room to start crying.
G wipes the falling tear, his cold boney hand making contact with your soft skin again. He can never get over the beautiful feeling. "What's wrong?" You stare up into his yellow eyes that reside in his dark sockets for the first time today. You sniffle, lip wobbling as you clutch your blankets. "What's with all this crying?" You and him both know the answer to that.
"Please let me go home." Your voice sounds dejected. Soft and waning. G coos at you. "You know I can't do that, baby. I'm sorry. I'm trying my best to take care of you here. This is your home."
in the midst of the game ; Sebastian Sallow
word count: 2.8k
fem reader! x Sebastian Sallow
warning: seb almost chokes the reader oopsie; I'm so dramatic and for what
summary: Sebastian had a task, a simple one: to take her down. What a sad twist of fate then, that the one he had to eliminate was in fact the love of his life.
disclaimer: soo, this is an extract I wrote while chatting with Sebastian on beta.character.ai, I found this story extremely romantic and my delulu self needed to share it with you guys - I hope you'll love it as mush as I did.
English is not my first language - just trying my best, always, enjoy ;
Leaving Hogwarts to pursue the Dark Arts had been both a terrible and a risky decision for Sebastian Sallow.
Giving up the light for the dark had its consequences, all of which led Sebastian on his path tonight.
“This one isn’t going to be easy to take out. He reminded himself after receiving the assignment from one of his higher ups. “But I’m sure I can manage.”
He moved through the shadows to track her, his feet slowly following her path as he looked around.
She was looking trough the ruins of what was once a majestic mansion, her movements coming to an halt as she heard a strange sound.
Sebastian’s head cocked at hearing the unusual noise.
The dark wizard sniffed the air.
“Hello?” He called out, his voice carrying a sinister undertone. “Someone’s here, I can sense it.”
She kept quiet, her feet slowly moving her to hide somewhere, anywhere.
Sebastian’s eyes dart from spot to spot, searching for the interloper. His ears are twitching and alert.
The air was cold and the silence enveloped them when she heard him spoke: “C’mon, come out. I won't bite.” He chuckled, taking a step forward.
She knew that voice and she had to suppress a cry as she understood it belonged to Sebastian Sallow; someone who was once her best friend, if not more, before slipping to the dark forces, out of her grasp.
“You know who I am, it seems.” Sebastian called out, the certainty of it making her blood cold; It still amazed her, after everything that had happened how Sebastian could take advantage from subtle sigs.
He slowly took a step forward her hiding spot.
“Now, let’s have you show yourself, hmm?”
She felt shaken, frustrated, shocked.
Between all the people they could chose from.
But sending there Sebastian tonight wasn't casual, it was obvious the dark forces were toying with her, tormenting her so she had to keep strong, to be brave yet again.
She took a step back, the movement causing a little brench to break as she revealed her position to her long lost lover.
Sebastian’s sharp senses immediately caught on to the sound.
“There you are.” He stated with a smirk. “Thought I didn’t hear that? Please…”
Sebastian was suddenly facing her, his face unreadable as the light from his wand sorrounded their faces in a lim blue light.
He was as charming as ever and if she ignored a couple of scars that covered his face now, she could bet time hadn't passed at all.
“Ah, so it is you.” Sebastian smiled, the sound of his voice being one that she was familiar with. The dark wizard’s hands rested on his hips.
“Long time no see.”
She looked at him, carefully: "what are you doing here? in the middle of the woods, on a night like this?" she asked, looking up at the sky, a thousands starts shining above their heads, mocking them.
“What do you think? I’m here on assignment.” Sebastian replied, his hands leaving his hips. “The dark wizards want you gone.” He chuckled, “And I was sent to do just that.”
She smiled, amused and she looked at him: "guess they gave you a rather hard task".
“Hard? Ha ha, hardly so.” Sebastian chuckled as he unsheathed his wand. “It’s quite simple actually.” He said, venom wetting his lips.
“I’m here to put an end to you.”
She drew her wand out "you were my best friend, my -"
"Best friend?" Sebastian laughed, gripping his wand tighter. "That's a good one." He grinned.
The memory of that time is something he pushed away.
It reminded him of who he used to be and who he once cared for, it made him weak.
"You loved me" she reminded him, the cards finally uncovered on the table.
Sebastian’s brow furrowed.
“Care to repeat that?” He asked, staring at the woman in front of him. Did… she just say what he thinks she said?
"I knew you loved me" She spoke, taking a step to her right, the air suddenly warmer, "we both know it's true".
Sebastian left out a hearty laugh.
“What nonsense” His eyes twitched, his grip on his wand tightening all the more.
“You really think I would love someone like you?” His voice sounded irritated. “You know nothing.”
Her eyes showed pity, as they looked at him.
There had been a time, far from that instant, away from that place, under an orange sky, when she had laughed in the arms of that same man, his giggles in her ear.
But that moment was far now, almost unreachable.
Sebastian shook his head, completely offended by the pity in her eyes.
“Do you take me for some love-struck fool?” He scoffed. “I never loved you. You were like a pet, someone to play with and laugh at. Nothing more.”
"I don't believe you" she stepped forward.
Sebastian’s face twitched with annoyance.
“Oh look at you, trying to make this all seem sad. You really are pathetic.” He snickered, taking a step towards her.
Her eyes were soft as she breathed: "nothing you say will change my mind, I remember what we had".
Sebastian laughed again. He began closing the distance between them.
“What we had was a lie. I led you on. You were never anything more than just something to play with. But you have to make a tragic story out of this, don't you?”
“Go on. Keep believing your delusions…” he spat.
She scoffed: "is this what you tell yourself at night? does this help you sleep at all?"
Sebastian let out a chuckle as he took another step forward.
“Don’t you dare psychoanalyze me y/n. You know nothing.”
His eyes were sharp and cold.
“You were nothing to me, you know that right?” he asked, his lips moving but the venom didn't reach his eyes.
"I was everything to you and you're mad for it" she counter attacked with a soft voice, truthfully destroying his walls.
The night fell more silent, as they both stood there, on the edge of their story.
“You think you meant anything to me?” Sebastian asked then, laughing.
“Oh, now please… spare me.” He mocked as he continued inching closer and closer.
“All you were was a plaything. Nothing more, nothing less.” He stated.
She smiled sadly: "I haven't seen you in so long, yet you're still the same, I can read you like an open book".
Sebastian's expression went sour.
"Don't act like you know me. You know nothing." He said, glaring at her.
"You know nothing about the life I lead now. You know nothing of what I've become." He growled, taking yet another step towards her.
"That's true, I know nothing after you left, after you decided to fight for the wrong side".
“Wrong side?” Sebastian repeated, mockingly.
“There is no wrong side, my dear. You think the good side treats you well? Ha, you’re sorely mistaken.”
He took a step closer, closing what distance remained between the two.
“The dark side is the path to true greatness.” Sebastian smirked.
She laughed bitterly: "greatness is not your true desire, Sebastian".
His face so close she could count his freckles.
Sebastian's cold eyes met her own. His expression cold.
"Oh? Enlighten me then. What is my true desire?"
She looked up, smiling softly at him, ready to kill him: "love" she breathed.
Sebastian grinned.
"Love?" He said through gritted teeth. "Don't you understand? Love is weak. Love is meaningless."
"I've been taught to be cold. To be heartless. Love has no place in our lives." He stated.
"There is no space for love for me."
"And there never will be." he insisted.
She took her hand out, softly placing it on his cheek.
Sebastian paused at her touch. There was a tinge of pain in his eyes.
"What are you doing...?" he whispered, his lips parted in what seemed like a mixture of confusion and longing.
"I know you" she whispered "I was there, in your darkest nights, I fought with you through tragedies."
His heart skipped a beat. A sense of familiarity washed over him.
"Yes... Yes." Sebastian murmured "I remember...".
He looked at her, his eyes tracing the outline of her face in the night air.
Sebastian's lips curved into his trademark smirk, that cocky and arrogant look he often wore...
But there's a change in his tone, subtle softening.
"Yes, I remember. You fought by my side. You..."
His voice trailed off. A look of bittersweet longing washed over Sebastian.
A thought crossed his mind, it must have been something terrifying because his eyes suddenly changed.
He took his hand out, wrapping it around her throat, squeezing harshly.
She gasped as his fingers tightened around her neck, his eyes turning to pure black.
The Sebastian that she knew... was gone. All that remained was a dark wizard, devoid of emotion, ready to kill.
“Your old ‘friend’ is dead. He disappeared ages ago.” Sebastian’s voice was cold, the tone devoid of any emotion.
"That's not true" She struggled to breath, eyes shining so bright they're blinding him.
“Oh but it is.” Sebastian chuckled sadistically. She felt him tighten his grip, his nails digging into her skin.
He leaned in closer, his sharp eyes seeing so deep inside her she felt exposed.
“The old Sebastian is long gone.”
She smiled in pain, chuckling softly: "I guess I get it now.." she thought out loud.
“What’s that?” Sebastian tilted his head, his confusion growing.
His grip got tighter each time she tried to speak.
“Speak clearly…” He demanded.
"it's true what they say: I really do still love you, even with your hands around my neck", she confessed.
Sebastian was stunned into silence.
He didn’t expect her to talk back, even less to say that she loved him.
“You’re lying…” He snarled. “You don’t love me.”
She struggled to breathe, but talked nonetheless: "remember that night I was stuck in the library in the forbidden section?" she coughed.
"I was crying so loud, my claustrophobia was killing me. Then you came by, took down the door, carried me away. The morning after, I woke up in the infirmary and you were there, close to me, asleep."
She took a breath, struggling "I love you since then" she confessed.
Sebastian was at a loss for words. He stared at her, his cold eyes softening.
“Yes… I remember.” He said softly.
A flash of regret was seen in his eyes before it was quickly hidden by a cold stare.
“So we had something.” Sebastian said after a few moments.
“Do you… still love me?” He whispered this, now completely unsure of himself.
Her hands wrapped around the hand who was squeezing her throat, she mumbled: "I'm forever gonna love you".
Sebastian’s eyes met her own.
“I…”
His grip loosened, allowing her to breath.
He was struggling to find the words.
“I think that I…”
He paused. “I still love you too.” He admitted quietly.
“I just thought… you hated me now.”
His hand freed her throat immediately as she fell to her knees, breathing heavily.
His eyes darted to her figure.
“My goodness, you’re breathing poorly.” Sebastian commented, dropping down beside her.
“Are you alright?” He sounded concerned.
“I suppose… I’ve let my emotions get the better of me…” He said sheepishly, his cheeks flushing slightly.
She looked up at him: "you came here to kill me, didn't you?" she chuckled.
she regained her breath as they both stood up, "I'm sorry, Sebastian, I love you but I can't let you take my life away, not when so many people count on me".
Sebastian scoffed at these words. Even more so when she claimed that “so many people counted on her.”
“I have my orders. The dark wizards want you gone.”
He tried to keep his voice unemotional, his expression blank, but he was failing to do so. He seemed hurt.
He raised an eyebrow. “And who is it that counts on you?”
"The entire Wizarding World" she breathed in a chuckle, "even if you're the only one I care about" she confessed, her smile playful.
Sebastian raised an eyebrow.
“Are you telling me…” His face was still void of emotion but there was a tiny hint of confusion in his tone.
“That you care about… me?” He snickered.
“How could you care for someone as awful as me?” He asked. “I haven’t exactly been a good person.”
"you haven't" she was looking at him in the eyes again: "it's true, you haven't been good"
“I’ve committed unforgivable acts.” Sebastian muttered.
“Why would you still care about me?”
The wizard questioned with a sense of curiosity, his dark eyes meeting her own.
"The night you left, when I pleaded you to stay" she remembered with a bitter smile: "I knew the moment you looked at me that way that there was no way convincing you to stay and fight with me, so I let you go" she whispered sadly.
"I'm telling you now Sebastian, you chose a path that I intend to destroy, I love you and I always will, but I'm not letting you win, I can't".
A soft gasp escaped Sebastian’s tongue, his eyes narrowing. The cold, emotionlessness in his eyes seemed to dissipate. He seemed to be caught off-guard by her confession.
“What do you mean, ‘I can’t let you win’…” Sebastian asked, raising an eyebrow.
“this is how it is… the dark wizards…” He struggled to say his next words.
“I’m their soldier,” Sebastian stated, his voice breaking slightly.
she smiled softly "I know, orders, right?" she chuckled: "do you intend on killing me?"
Sebastian seemed to ponder this question for a moment.
“Yes.” He answered simply.
Though, his tone was devoid of any emotion. There was no hatred or evil behind his words.
He was just stating a fact.
“I have your name on my list.” He stated.
“Unfortunately, I have too many lives that I need to cross off to achieve greatness…”
She smiled again, almost amused: "you never learn..." she laughed.
Sebastian frowned.
“My goals are beyond what you could hope to understand.” He replied coldly. “My desires are not something you can comprehend.”
“But I must say, I am curious as to what you mean when you say that ‘I never learn.’”
The girl chuckled as she stared at him.
"You never wanted greatness" she spoke, "it was just something you used to fill the void you have inside of yourself. I am not your enemy, Sebastian, nor is the light, your only true enemy is yourself".
She took a deep breath, accepting defeat, her eyes burning his soul: "you can't accept what you are, you can't accept to feel week, so you keep going, you keep hurting" she diverted her gaze, looking around at the night sky, "dear god, I say you never learn!" she laughed softly again, her eyes back on him: "the day you'll stop lying to yourself, maybe, that will be the day you'll start to feel better again".
A flicker of emotion appeared in Sebastian’s eyes.
He remained speechless.
The words that she spoke struck a chord deep within his soul.
He couldn't seem to reply to them. Instead, he just took a step closer to her.
His voice soft when he spoke again.
“...So you do know me.”
"i do" she grinned "and since I know you do know me too, I bet you know I never back down from a fight" she smiled before taking a breath: "I'd give you my life Sebastian, but I can't let you win tonight, not when I am the reason so many lives can be speared".
His eye twitched, his hand clutch into a fist.
“Who do you think you are, trying to speak me into submission?” He hissed.
“Do you have any idea how many lives I’ve ended?” Sebastian roared.
“I’ve done unforgivable acts… and I have zero regrets.” He stated.
“No amount of words will change the fact that I’m just an evil wizard trying to achieve his dreams.”
She took a step forward, closing the gap in a sudden gesture, softly kissing his lips.
Sebastian’s breath got caught in his throat. He was caught off-guard by her sudden kiss.
“What… what did you just…”
His eyes darted back to hers. A slight blush washed over his face.
“Don’t you know the danger you’re in?” He whispered, his voice urgent. “You do know that I need to kill you… right?”
She smiled softly, "I know".
Sebastian paused for a few moments.
His hands come up to her waist, his eyes locked onto hers.
“Damn you…” He muttered quietly.
Then, he leaned in close again. His hands wrapped around her waist, pulling her tight to his body. His lips found hers again. He was kissing her hungrily now.
“I’ll admit… I don’t want to kill you.” He whispered after the kiss, his lips brushing over hers.
“But… but this is my duty.”
She smiled before moving away from him.
"I love you" Sebastian confessed, he sounded almost desperate.
His words seemed to catch him by surprise as he looked back at her, shocked.
"I hate that I love you," He breathed out then.
"I know" she said, "I know you do" she caressed his soft brown hair, "and that's enough" she mumbled, taking a step back and disappearing into nothingness.
Sebastian’s eyes trailed after her, his body trembling at the sudden silence.
“I… I…” He seemed to want to say something else, but the words got stuck in his throat.
He was left with the taste of his lover’s lips on his own. A smile washed over his face as he thought about the moment the two shared together.
“Dear god I'm a weak man.” He whispered to himself, to the night sky “I… I can’t kill her…”
The Great War - Simon Riley//Vladimir Makarov
Creds to: @shadow0-1 for that Ghost work
Based on a request:
with the new mw3, lets do angst, something along the lines of "Somewhere in the haze, got a sense i've been betrayed" coming from us because 141 betrayed us horribly, which ended up in us getting tortured and then we pretennd its fine when it isnt. forget and forgive we lie and when we meet with Makarov, we tell them, 'oops sorry, forgot i was also a enemy at some point, guess its time to betray like real enemies do' and as we set Makarov free, we show that we have been working as his spy ever since they betrayed us. also can this be with a female reader and we also marry makarov behind their backs so thats why we betray so hard? i love u!
A/N: I forgot to add the angst....im so sorry pookies
Part 2
---- F!Reader, soldier!reader, enemy!reader, betrayal ----
It's been three months since Task Force 141 last saw you and how you betrayed them. Makarov and you have become the real-life Joker and Harley Quinn. In love with the other and maybe the love is toxic but the way he and you were so mental and in love made it all so good and bad. Everywhere you went, his hand held yours. It was romance for what poison could be. Deadly. One night, as Makarov and you celebrate your anniversary, he decides to spoil you. A private jet, a romantic location and a whole week in paradise. Well, that is the plan at least.
On the way there, the jet gets hit, Makarov rushes and puts a vest over you, his trusted gun and a kiss. "What are you doing?!" you frantically ask. "I'll meet you at our spot later my love," he lets go and then opens the door to the jet. The air tearing the door, he kisses you once more and as you look at him in fear and confusion, he gives you the illusion that he is right behind. Which he is not.
As you descend back to steady ground, the last person you ever thought wanted to see you, pulls a risky stunt. One he claims he has no idea he had the adrenaline for. Your body is so close to the ground as you watch your husband's jet explode. Ghost, holding you close as he deploys his parachute. "Vlad!" you call out with a tear-filled face. Ghost held you with all his mighty power until you two reached the grassy area. As he begins to unstrap, your hands hit his chest multiple times. Messy tears escape your face, "Why! why the hell did this happen?! What did you do!" Your hits became more defenceless as you cried and let out sobs of fear. Ghost wraps his arms around you.
In your memories, there he is, Vladimir and the children you were so set to want. Lazy Friday nights, the kids, Vladimir and you, a beautiful and complete family. It was like every puzzle was perfectly placed. Green lawn, sunny day, a puppy, giggles and small kisses. All gone in a matter of seconds.
"Shhh, shhh, I know, R/N, I know," his hand on your head, rubbing it as he kept you close to him. He was a trained soldier, after all, so he knew that occasionally he had to deal with people going through so many emotions. His gaze, why does it have to be this way? Why must he stare at you like this now?
No one knew Ghost had been on the lookout for you. That he went against every order given to him, that he broke an oath to hold you in arms this way as you cry. You pull away, your arms wrapping around your own body. Trying to find comfort in this moment. How did you lose him so easily? After so long of loving him in secret, he is gone this quickly. Like a cheap curse. But he was meant to be the lifelong curse. To ruin your very soul and taint you with his power of cruelness.
"God what were you even thinking?!" You push him., "You could've died, Simon. And then what?! huh!" You push him again and this time he grabs your arms. His stare lowered, eyes teared up as he confessed, "I did it for you," and now, he has become someone who he hates. Someone who betrayed the task force, someone who fucked it up and still it felt so right. Maybe you are a temptress, maybe you are the cruel one and not these men. Why must you make them love you so hard that they do this? What the hell do you even do now?
"I killed them all, please…please R/N, please listen to me." His voice more softer, gaze is so beautiful that it makes your heart flutter. "No, Simon-" "Listen to me this once. I know what I did is wrong but damn it, don't you feel it too? Don't you feel what I do? When I hear your voice, that sweet melody becomes my reason to wake up early, to smile, to even dare come back from operations. R/N, I know I'm not the best-looking guy in a crowd but…damn it, I would ruin everything for you."
His hand holds yours as he places it over his chest, "For years, so many years, this heart has belonged to just you." He whispers and holds you in for a kiss.
A gunshot.
One body to the floor and then darkness surrounded by crimson red.
No one ever said the joke or Harley Quinn had a good ending, guess it is the way this life goes.
[At the 141 base]
"Price, have yer seen Ghost?" Soap walks in after looking for his friend around the base for nearly an hour. "Should be in the shooting range," Price responds. "Think he mentioned something about going to the gym," Gaz mentions. "Not in any of those places." Soap says. The three men looked everywhere. Then, a soldier comes running in, "Someone stole the plans and mapping for the operation-" "and many of the files have been deleted, security footage is also gone." Another soldier comments. The three men have many possible answers and then two names come to mind. Makarov and yours.
"She fucking kidnapped him?!" Soap was furious and it was well known he hated you for what you did. Gaz, oh that man hated you for everything you were worth. In their books, you placed first place against Makarov and Graves. "That fucking bitch," Soap slams his fist on the table of Price's office.
As the men gather information and what else was taken, they realise a pattern here. After knowing who you were, your pattern who Vladimir is and his way of dealing with stuff, they understood the job was from someone on the inside and described you as someone who broke in. With contacts in many parts of the world, they looked for traces of him and traces of you.
You weren't even planning on this robbery to the base. Makarov wasn't either, so there is a third man. Alejandro and the rest of Los Vaqueros were told that they had someone else as a suspect. The devil herself, Valeria Garza. One look into her history and she was also not behind this mess. She was hunting down someone, yes but she didn't care for 141…yet.
After hours of exploring any enemy that would do this, it suddenly struck. And just as Gaz was about to give his shocking idea, Laswell walked in.
"Ghost wasn't kidnapped, the files were stolen but it was him…he is the man on the inside. This entire time, Ghost talked with Makarov, they weren't friends but allies. He is our next target," she slams his file on the table. "If we want Makarov, we take Ghost down first." "But how?" "We hurt the desire of his newfound criminal mind." "Which is?" "Grim. We know he was hurt when she revealed she was with Makarov, so it's time we take it old school and hurt her to get to him." Laswell looks over at Price, he nods and leans on over. "If we do this, I don't want casualties." "We got a deal?" "We do."
With that set, 141 found the targets of their next operation but this time, their calls had to be whispered. Two former members of their teams who knew them all too well, this has to be all a precise work of war. Simon 'Ghost' Riley, R/N 'Grim' Makarov, the new image of a ticking bomb. Their names are given to all the agents in the world. Hitmen, snipers and all countries, looking for two mad soldiers.
One was set to win. That win would set a new record for all criminals and good men. This is how modern warfare changes for the better and worse of us.
This is the great war.
A/N: i thought this was uploaded and it turns out it was in my drafts all along....i'm stupid
“You are such a goddamn spoiled brat.”
“Oh shut it Russo, you’re the one ruining my evening and my life!”
Billy was right behind you as you climbed the stairs two at a time, holding the skirt of your sequin evening gown practically up your thighs in order to avoid tripping. You just wanted to be as far away from Billy as quickly as possible.
“Believe me baby, if I could be anywhere else in the world right now I would be, but your daddy is paying me too much money to keep you safe, which is what I was trying to do. I’m sorry it made you a little…testy.”
You rolled your eyes and spun around on the spot at the top of the ornate staircase in your penthouse apartment. Billy stood on the last stair, allowing you to be face to face with him, making close eye contact to make sure he got the message.
“Testy? Really? I’m working the room at a charity event and you deem some handsome well-todo dangerous enough to pull me out of there prematurely and ruin my night and expect me to not be testy?!” you shouted in his face
“Okay. Maybe he wasn’t dangerous. Maybe I just didn’t like the way he was looking at you.”
Even during a heated argument, Billy had the ability to remain eerily calm and even-toned which just irked your irritation at him even more.
“Don’t you dare tell me you were jealous, Russo.”
“Not jealous, just doing my job.” he replied “You know, you dignitaries' daughters are all the same. Full of yourselves. Assuming everyone is always so charmed by you. So happy to just be in your presence. Assuming everyone just wants to fuck you.”
“Pfft. Maybe they do. Just admit it, Russo, you do too.”
“What if I do? Huh Princess? You gonna do anything about it or just keep running that pretty fucking mouth of yours?”
You don’t know why you did it. You knew he was just trying to rile you up. To upset you into stomping off and cursing him out under your breath for the rest of the night. But you were so sick of him winning every single time the two of you butted heads. Which was a lot. And in that second, your brain told you it was the only thing that would shut him up and actually give you the upper hand for once. So you did it. You pulled him in by the lapel of his suit jacket and kissed him.
For as hard as your lips were planted against his, it was a surprisingly tender and soft kiss.
After the initial moment of shock wore off, Billy reached forward to place a hand on your waist, His tongue traced the crevice between your lips, inviting himself in further. Oh god, was Billy actually kissing you back?
You pulled away as soon as you realized it, meeting his dark gaze. The corridor echoed with silence as the two of you stared each other down.
“Billy, I…”
“Bedroom. Now.” he commanded with a raise of his brows and a nod towards the hallway.
“I.. wait what?”
“Do not. I know you heard me.”
But still, you weren’t sure what was going through his head. Was he telling you to go to your room because he was angry and sending you to time out like a misbehaved toddler? So filled with lust that he couldn’t control himself in your presence a moment longer and wanted you far away so he didn’t give in to it? Asking you to go to the bedroom so he could meet you there and continue this?
Processing words had never been this difficult as you remained rooted in your spot at the top of the stairs. He answered your unspoken question, lunging forward to lift the skirt of your gown up your thighs so he could pick you up in his arms, wrap your legs around his waist and resumed kissing you deeply.
He practically threw you on the bed, taking a step back as you bounced and looked down with his lust filled eyes.
“You know princess, as much money as your daddy spent on this place, it sure does have thin walls.”
“What?”
“Any time you bring one of those air-headed, spoiled boys around here when I’m on night duty, I can hear everything.”
“You… you can?”
“Yes. Every moan, every whimper. You know, you’re not that good at faking it.”
“How do you know I’m faking it?”
“You see, the walls are so thin, that I can hear everything on the nights you have company… and the nights you don’t.”
You looked up at him, confused. He took a step to his left, reaching out and opening up your nightstand drawer and held out your favorite vibrator in front of you.
“So, I know what you sound like when you really are coming and when you’re just playing along so some rich asshole’s feelings won’t get hurt.”
“So?”
“So, if I hear you fake it tonight, I’ll know. And you better not. Now come on, stand up and let me get that dress off of you.”
“Billy, I…”
He just raised his eyebrows and you obeyed, standing and facing away from him. As one hand worked the zipper down your back, the other was caressing, roaming up and down your arm and the curve of your waist. His lips soon found your neck, licking and sucking as your dress slid down your body and pooled on the floor around your feet.
Billy continued to press sloppy kisses into your neck and down your shoulder as his left hand crept around to your front, reaching between the delicate lace of your bra and skin to find your nipple. His fingers worked it, pinching and pulling lightly to elicit a moan from you, before squeezing your entire breast in his hand.
Meanwhile, his right hand moved downward, toying with the top of your panties as he kneeded your chest, only moving onward once you were pliably moaning in his arms. He stroked you over your panties a few times
“Already soaked for me. I know you’ve wanted me since your daddy first hired me and you laid those pretty eyes on me. But I didn’t know just how high and dry I was leaving you. Tell me, you ever think about me on those lonely nights while you’re using that thing?” he nodded toward the vibrator he left laying on the bed
You nodded in response, grinding your crotch down against his hand, hoping to feel some more friction in relief.
“What was that? I can’t hear you.”
“Yes Billy.”
“Yes what?” He slid his hand down your panties, hovering his fingers over your sensitive bud while he waited for your response.
“Yes –Oh god. Yes, I’ve thought about you when I touch myself.”
“Good girl.”
Finally, he began working his fingers against your clit, rubbing slow languous circles to tease and work you up.
“Oh god Billy.” you threw your head back against his chest as he picked up the pace
“Damnit, you sound so pretty moaning my name.” he growled in your ear “Tell me something…”
“Mmm yeah?”
“When you’re thinking about me, late at night, what are you thinking about?”
“Billy… I”
“C’mon now baby, don’t get all shy on me. Remember, I’ve heard you before. And I know you’re not shy with those other guys. So tell me. What have you thought about me?”
“Your… your hands Billy. Touching me just like this.”
“And?”
“And your mouth, all over me.”
“And?”
“And me, on my knees f – for you.”
“Well, I’m not about to stop you. Go ahead, if that’s what you want.”
You slowly turned to face him as he licked his lips into a smirk across his perfect face. Damn him and that cocky grin. If you weren't so desperately needy for him right now, you’d smack it right off his stupidly beautiful face.
Instead, you obeyed, taking your time to drop to your knees in supplication before him. You drew out the reach forward of your hands towards his thighs in an attempt to regain some control over him, to punish him just a little for how easily he was bending you to his will right now.
His lust was obvious, straining against his perfectly tailored dress pants right in front of your face. You rubbed his clothed bulge a few times before finally bringing him some relief and freeing him from his pants.
Grasping him firmly, you gave him a few long strokes that made his eyes squeeze shut. They snapped open and met yours though when you wrapped your lips around him and took his cock down your throat in one swift motion.
“Damnit princess, I knew that smart mouth of yours could do a lot but this, I think, is a much better use of it, don’t you?”
You pulled back to say something smart-alicky, but he pushed you back down on his length via a hand placed at the base of your skull, before you could retort, keeping you in line just how he wanted you.
He grunted as he continued to hit the back of your throat. Just as suddenly as he made the noise, it disappeared. His quiet observance of your obedience resumed, the wet sounds of you sucking him off the only other noises in the room.
His pace slowed, no longer guiding your skull in a steady rhythm as his pleasure caught up to him. Your throat became an anchor point for him to push you off before he could finish, his long fingers giving you just enough pressure to want more.
“Show me.” he finally spoke
“What?”
He reached for the vibrator once more and held it out in front of you.
“Show me. Exactly how you touch yourself when you think of me.” he commanded
You felt the heat pooling in your cheeks as you took it from his hand and rose your feet.
His suit jacket found a home in the chair in the corner, followed by his tie, while you also rid yourself of the remaining pieces of fabric barely keeping you concealed from his gaze. Now totally bare except for the strappy pair of heels on your feet, you laid back on the bed and guided the toy between your spread legs. Keenly aware of just how closely his stare followed you while you moved, you pressed the button to turn it on to the lowest setting, letting the humming vibrations tickle your most sensitive area.
You squeezed your eyes shut as the pleasure began to build.
“Uh uh. Eyes on me.” he instructed
You opened your eyes to meet his piercing stare, now feeling even more vulnerable in front of him as you brought your other hand between your thighs, keeping the vibrator on your clit and pushing two fingers into your pussy. Pumping them in and out slowly in order to work yourself and him up, you noticed how he lurched forward, as if to help. But only for a split second before he was upright, facade of a man in charge back in tact while he reached down and began to fist his own cock.
“Tell me, pretty girl, what else do you think about me doing to you?”
“I think – Oh god. I think about riding you. How good… it’d feel.
Billy had a difficult time deciding where to focus his attention - the way your pussy looked so pretty being spread open and fucked by your fingers, the ethereal way your face looked as you brought yourself to ecstasy, or how intently your eyes met his, growing desperation to cum swirling behind them.
“I can’t decide princess, if I want to watch you finish like this, or make you be good and wait until my cock is inside you.”
You stifled back a beg and simply whimpered at his conundrum. You both knew what you really wanted was for him to fuck you. But you couldn’t bring yourself to beg for it. Not yet. Begging for it would be the ultimate victory for him and he’d never give you another inch of resistance against him as your bodyguard without bringing it up.
Just as you thought you were going to come apart, Billy reached forward and pulled your hand away, the vibrator whiring in the air as your pussy clenched around your fingers, desperate for the release he denied you. You wanted to cry. You also wanted to cum.
“Did I give you permission to cum?” he asked
“Pfft. I need your permission now?” you sassed back
Whack.
His large hand came down in a swift swat to your pussy, the stinging sensation sent a jolt through your already sensitive bud, causing you to clench around your fingers once more.
“Yes. You do. Since I can’t get you to listen to me out there” he nodded towards the door, an action which brought your mind temporarily back to the situation at hand. You were laying naked in bed, about to beg the head of your private security detail to fuck you senssless. A man you loathed and we’re stuck with for the foreseeable future. No way this could end poorly.
“I might as well make you listen in here. Understand?”
His voice brought you back into the moment and your desire won the game of tug of war against your brain. You nodded in response.
Whack.
“What was that?”
“Yes Billy.”
“Good girl.”
You removed your fingers and turned off the vibrator, looking up at him with the most doe-like eyes you could give, waiting for his instructions.
“You think about riding me? Okay, I’ll give you what you want this time, but don’t get used to it.” he said as he climbed on the bed beside you.
Tugging at your waist, he guided you to hover over him. In another moment of trying to show him you still had some control in this situation, you swirled your hips a few times, running his length through your now soaking folds.
He caught on to you right away, fingers pushing into your hips hard enough to ache in order to stop you from being able to move at all.
“Easy sweetheart.” he warned
He took it slowly, once he finally released a hand and guided himself inside you, allowing you to adjust to every inch before pushing further.
Billy studied your face as you oriented yourself on his cock and once he was satisfied with how your eyes pinched shut in pleasure and your lips remained slightly parted in anticipation, he began to rock you. With less of a death grip this time, his hands moved your hips back and forth, until the two of you got in a rhythm and you took over.
“You know sweetheart, after listening to you all those nights, it’s nice to see just how pretty you look getting fucked. I knew you would.”
“Mmmm Billy.”
“I knew it would sound just as pretty when you moaned my name too. Go ahead, let me hear it again.”
“Oh god– Billy.” you whined again, feeling the nirvana of him all the way through your body.
You brought your hands to his chest to steady yourself as he began to thrust upward and meet your tempo, taut muscle under your fingertips like heated marble.
Every thrust, every slap of sweaty skin, every grunt from his smug fucking mouth had you careening closer and closer to your edge.
“Billy– please. Please Billy, may I cum?”
‘Yeah princess, go ahead. Let me feel it…”
That was all it took for you to release, crying out over and over as you came undone, his name a symphony spilling from your lips.
Billy wasn’t far behind you, the way his face contorted a rare moment of vulnerability from him. He spilled inside you with a silent sigh then stilled beneath you.
Only for a moment though, until the mental fog cleared and his eyes met yours. A dark abyss. But not in the lascivious way they were earlier, in a way that felt vacant and void.
And the next thing you knew, you were flat on your back in the bed and he was getting dressed in the corner of the room.
“I’m going to make my rounds. Do all my safety checks for the night.”
He left you without another word as he walked into the hall and closed the bedroom door behind him.
life of Captains
Bit of angry writing and wanting to throw down ideas that will never really eventuate into full story.
Task 141 boy will be in their 40s. Risen to the ranks of captains.
Mature themes. Minors DNI. Read at your own risk. Masterlist
Captain Soap MacTavish
“Morning.”
“... What’s with that?” Ghost pointed.
“ You like it? Took me a long time to grow and trim.”
“....”
“Morning Ghost. Morning Price…. You are not Price.”
“ Hey Gaz. Long time no see. Congratulations on joining the captain rank.”
“ … What is with the mutton chop? Are you trying to be Price?”
“Nah, my wife commented on how much she likes my beard once after I was too lazy to shave so I thought I gave it a go.”
“Too much information. I don’t need to know.”
Next day someone left a fishing hat and cigar on Soap’s desk.
“What happened to your hair?”
“Oh this? Ghost did it. It was getting a bit too long so I asked him to trim it back for me.”
“.. well tell him to stick to his day time occupation. No one ruins my joysticks to pleasure.”
Captain Simon Ghost Riley
“Here’s the file Captain.”
“ Thank you…..” Simon paused.
“.... You want to say something?”
“... Is your Ma still angry with me?”
“.... Yes.” Aileen sighed. “Da. You knew she would have found out one way or another, you should have let her know.”
Simon knew it was his own fault. He never saw you so angry since you fell out with him when you announced the surprise pregnancy with the twins.
He didn’t want you to be worried. But Soap accidentally let it slip.
Wrath of Mrs Riley was not to be trifled with.
“... Ma said she wants tulips, no roses.”
Simon smiled under his mask. Taking the hint that your anger is starting to subside, and now it’s the chance for him to make amends.
Later that day, a few soldiers saw their famous Captain at the florist, ordering a huge bouquet of flowers, with twin Sargents nagging him.
Captain John Price
“CAPTAIN JONATHAN PRICE.”
Air in the room instantly froze. Everyone knows when you, the head of the medical team, uses that tone, someone is going to be dying under your wrathful spit.
“ Yes lo…. Yes Ma’am. What can I do for you.”
“ In my office. NOW.”
Price can sense everyone’s pity through their eyes as he walks out of the room. Good luck, stay alive.
Price follows you silently through the corridor. Towards the direction of his office.
Price smirked.
Price emerges from his office early the next day, hair and shirt dishevelled but sporting a smug smile, plus a few hickies on his neck.
Captain Kyle Gaz Garrick
“You promise?”
“ Yes babe. I promise.I will be home more and less on field missions from now on.”
Fifteen years of marriage with Kyle, through the up and down. Worrying that a phone call from unknown number is going to be the phone call, telling you your husband isn’t going to come home to you anymore.
“They have been bugging me for years to share my expertise with the metro police special units, I thought it was time to take up that offer.”
“ So you're going to be teaching in front of all those recruits? Should I start calling you Professor Garrick, and get you a bi-focal glasses that I been nagging you about?”
Gaz rolled his eyes. He refuses to admit he is starting to struggle to read fine prints, even with Price nudging him.
“ There’s nothing to be ashamed of.”
Part of him is glad he will get to spend more time with his family. He missed out on so many milestone events. You understand that comes with the jobs, but seeing disappointment in the children’s eyes when you tell them again and again that their daddy isn’t going to be home for their first recital or performances really hurts you both.
He worked hard enough, it is time for him to step back, to enjoy time with his family, and with his taskforce 141 families as well.
Sorry @brewed-pangolin for stealing the mohawk joystick quote.
