speaking of branzy having power and control in his relationship with clown, i think where people go wrong with clownzy is they dont know what that looks like, and if you take clownzy in a vacuum you aren't ever going to find the answer, because branzy never abuses the power he has in his relationship with clown.

branzy's power in this relationship is the same as it is in any other relationship: he is observant, calculating, and exploitative. perfect example: trapping rekrap. theres a reason parrot came to branzy with this challenge. despite being a friend and teammate of rek's parrot never came anywhere near as close to succeeding as branzy did. branzy is not just close friends with rek, hes someone who knows how to observe others and note down behaviors, habits, strengths, and weaknesses. you cant brute force rekrap into a generic trap, and branzy knows this, so he uses his observations to tailor traps for rek that exploit his paranoia and work with it rather than against it. his entire video about reconciling with rekrap is a showcase of branzy showing this skill off! every one of the traps he made exploited the habits rek had that kept him safe from falling into other peoples traps. it was branzy spending that whole time ith rek saying "see how easily i can hurt you? arent i such a good guy because i dont?"

to take this back to clownzy, the entire reason clown teamed up with branzy is because he needed branzy to cover his weaknesses regarding redstone. their teamup was the result of clown falling into two other people's traps. hes putting a LOT on the line by letting branzy close to him, because hes basically giving branzy the key to destroying him. branzy is close enough to clown to know exactly how to exploit his nature and his weaknesses to kill him. or worse. hes smart enough to figure out a trap that would work on him. if he really wanted to betray clown he could have at any point, and theres a good chance he could have succeeded, too. the reason clown is constantly purposefully intimidating branzy is beacuse he knows branzy has the power to destroy him now, and he has to remind branzy of why that is a very bad idea. he has to assert his control of the situation. its clown saying you could kill me, but i could kill you worse.

and furthermore its not even the intimidation that keeps branzy from betraying him–well, not in the way youd think, anyway. because branzy is not afraid of risk. he got himself down to four hearts in the cleansing assisting his team even though clown explicitly told him to hide and protect himself. hes clearly not afraid of dying! no, the reason it works is because branzys a freak thats into it. he likes it when clown threatens him. and he GOT OUT. he wasnt teamed with clown in season 4 or 5, but he still gravitated to him anyway, because he missed that dynamic. he likes it when clown threatens him! and he likes it because its proof that clown considers him enough of a threat that he needs to keep him in line. because he doesnt make those kinds of threats with other weak players. he just kills them. and that power trip is a helluva drug.

But because youre his no.1 confidant this also means there might be times where he unloads a lot of intense feelings onto you because he doesn't know what to do when he's experiencing side effects of trauma and stress. he doesn't do it maliciously but he doesn't see how this potentially could be overwhelming and exhausting

⟢ on the plus side, he's an amazing listener because of this. i think out of everyone in the band (besides nathan, who i'd say he's on par with), toki is least likely to get defensive or argue whenever you two disagree or need to communicate- he takes everything on board seriously because he wants to please you and make things work (hes not in this for a short time, hes in it for life)

⟢ at his core he is insanely dedicated; youll never worry about being outshined by groupies or fangirls, matter of fact once youre in the picture toki can barely tolerate touchy fans because all other people pale in comparison to his beautiful wonderful amazing partner!!

i cannot express how much i adore the dinner scene in 1x01. i think about it constantly. theres so much covert queercoding for mike that it literally drives me crazy.

the fact that just a bit before this we have the scene with joyce and hop where they imply that they are scared that will has been a victim of a gay hate crime. and throughout the season its implied over and over and no one really seems to give a shit. not even lucas and dustin. they care about will DEEPLY ofc but the fact that most ppl are expecting him to be dead and killed bc hes gay doesnt seem to bother them? the scene where troy is bullshitting about will in the gym they both just stand there, they dont make any move to stop him or call him out. no one does (this isnt me calling lucas and dustin bad ppl or not allys or wtv but u get the point).

in the dinner scene mike is clearly distressed about his friend. which is a perfectly heterosexual thing to do. in general. however hes not straight so its gay when he does it. karen ADRESSES that she thinks something bad happened to will by telling nancy she cant go to barbs house until will is found. however she acts very dismissive of wills situation in general. im sure she was worried for him but she does it (or at least expresses it) is a very passive way. she is not focused on will being missing or what may have happened to him, just the fact that something bad happened in general to a person in hawkins.

the fact is, besides mike, karen is the only one worried at all. and shes not even close to matching mikes energy in the slightest.

when mike mentions steve, the conversation is totally derailed from will. as if it wasnt an important conversation in the first place.

Basically my thought was...i was looking at alot of parent insta reels and in tiktok, but there are comments of black parents being aggressive to kids and do not get me wrong...i will make this VERY clear, black parents, not all of them are abusive. physically, mentally, or verbally. But i see that this generalization of black parents being abusive, basically beating their kids, BUT at the same time white parents also beat their kids, and other people of colour in general. So why only think of black parents, specifically black americans...

Edit here: i do not find that every black parents are abusive, i've seen ALOT more affectionate and calm parents from the community. Do not cherry pick the minirity into the majority. But unfortunately the minority is still highlighted more than the majority. But it is also important to bring up the minority to talk about it and it's issues obviously. Abusive parenting should not be normalized at all.

I know this pattern of behavior in abusive parenting, parents who learn from their (abusive) parents that beating their children, yelling at them is the only way to discipline kids, and so these future parents took it as value and treat their kids the same way their parents treated them. And they will not accept that this type of parenting is not normal because they are in denial, it's their way to cope because it's their parents, These parents who abuse their kids physically and or verbally are the ones who cannot control their emotions BECAUSE they are taught as a young age that anger "fixes" problems, yelling...spanking...etc. and thus they think it's normal, for them. Because they were taught by their parents.

Now that aside, my guess on black parents are seen to be more abusive iiiissss......racism, obviously. But the reason why these parents are abusive? I think it's...it's gonna sound stupid...but i think it's because of american slavery. hear me out, we've all learned that enslaved black people were tortured, beaten up, and the rest is forced breeding, babies used as alligator bait, cannibalized by the oppressor, treated like livestock, skin used as leather, teeth used as dentures, lips pireced and shut to prevent them from eating sugar canes in the plantation, used as a lab mouse, etc.

But my most interest is the enslaved black people beaten up to discipline them. Basically the slave owners maybe drilled this idea to the slaves and parented the owners behavior into their own children. And the children learn from their parents behavior, and then the grown children act this behavior into their future children, and generations to come. This does NOT apply to all black folks, theres no undenying fact that there were loving black parents who treated their kids the opposites of how white people treated them, because no adult, no child, no people of different skin should experience what they did with their oppressor. Not only slave owners but even when slavery ended, it's also probably racist people after slavery ended years ago that drilled this ideology to young black people

Now this abusive parenting among the black community can be weaponized to stigmitize, demonize, and generalize black people by racists that these people are aggressive, out of control, beings and it's in their nature that they can't control their anger, even towards their children. But like i said in the second paragraph, white people can also be abusive to their children. But people only care about what excuses their bigotry. Considering black people are already seen as aggressive by racists, not knowing these behaviors are from being in an oppressed community because of racists...

But either way, hitting your kids, especially spanking or anything is not the way to discipline them. It only makes them fear you, they do not respect you, respecting isn't earned by fear no matter if you think it is, they are afraid of you. They will not know how to regulate their anger because you taught them that way.

Gentle parenting is important, before say ANYTHING! Gentle parenting isn't being spineless to your child and letting them do whatever they want without discipline.

the discipline is natural consequences (a child purposely drops their snack, you tell them that they will not getting those snacks again until they learn that it's innappropiate to drip food purposely,let them learn and apologize, children will do certain acts to see their parents reaction, because they do not know when things are right or wrong).

be confrontive to them (asked why they did that, keep confronting them if they try to make excuses, if they start crying do not stop, you can comfort them but still explain to them because what they did is still bad and tell them to not do the same mistakes, and keep going until they own up to their mistakes.)

Calm your tone (your voice, you do not have to baby talk them, talk to them in a calm but assertive manner, try to understand them but do not let your understanding to be weaponized either, keep reminding that what they did is wrong. And learn.)

But either way that's what i think...idk what i was gonna go w this because it's hard to explain...sorry if i made it sound very odd...this is stupid, my fault. I don't think it's weird, in fact thats kind of flattering lol. People can feel however they want.

Tldr its kind of the same thing in canon, but there's also a lot more extreme mixed feelings about that kind of thing so heres an exposition dump:

There are quite a few people who do have feelings for other species, and consider it normal and natural (after all, theyre all sophonts. As long as youre abiding by age and consent stuff, theyre just another person who looks a lil different lol) Love is love, what you like works in mysterious ways, etc etc. In other words, if you were in wh theres also a prectikar out there somewhere who feels the same way about you.

Others, though, consider it a little strange or just dont understand it, and many don't experience any kind of feelings for other species (their response is "that's an alien" rather than "wow they're a pretty person", a sentiment that leads to problems beyond relationship ones too). Most are fine with it or more or less don't care that much, similar to 'meh if theyre happy" attitudes or just 'keep it out of my face/dont ask dont tell'.

The term 'xenophile' was originally just meant to describe someone who likes things outside of their norm, which in the current circumstances means aliens. Much like the word cinephile, it's not supposed to be a negative descriptor (and there are a Lot worse words that people use for different species attraction. A lot better words,too, but still). However, it's normally used with "freak" connotation (which is why that sundyne used it) . This is because theres another group of people who see finding xenos attractive as a deviance, and a many of their cultures aren't exactly tolerant of deviances (its sometimes lumped in/treated the same as each species' queer stuff, which causes its own problems).

On the farthest negative end of the "attraction between species" view, people think that theres no "real" relationship beyond a shallow/freaky type thing (similar to views on relationships with kinks, fetishes, etc) and/or that its unnatural, disgusting, and/or borderline criminal (similar to older views on homosexuality etc) In both the DRSS and the Empire, marriage between different species is not officially legal (living together and having a ceremony etc is unofficially tolerated in the DRSS, but anyone caught so much as holding hands in the Empire is looking at fines, jail time, or worse). There's a lot of factors that play into each species' aversion to relationships between other species. Generally speaking: Humans are the most ok with it, but its brought back old discussions about "non-humans" from the gene-modding craze, and since they're new to the whole aliens thing a lot of people don't know how to be normal about it. Prectikar and Kixeli have historically been exploited and oppressed by other species, and thus are protective of the new cultural freedom they've found (more likely to keep to themselves and away from the people who could compromise their way of life.) Rossetians have reservations about the "ethics" of liking other species who are "less technologically advanced" and about the "natural" "biological" divide between species. Cerest share similar concerns, and also believe that they're superior and shouldn't mingle with what they consider sub-cerest. Muttreazik are significantly alienated/hated by other species, and many intentionally avoid "hosts" out of spite or to avoid the conflict that inevitably arises. So, the reason why the Sundyne used that word, for example, is because his species considers liking another species to be a form of bestiality (thanks to their deep-seated cultural reliance on exploiting and othering non-Sundyne for their own gain). Being staunchly unsupportive of cross-species relationships is usually just a smaller part of a larger xenophobic view, one that also means you don't support building infrastructure for them to live alongside you and/or believe that youre a better species than them, etc. So yeah, for every xeno-liker in a species theres a dedicated hater who wants them in jail (and unfortunately some of those guys are in government too)

To reiterate, though, people of different species in canon find each other attractive and fall in love all the time, and I think that's a good thing!! There's just obstacles and opposition lol

my experiences with emotion.

i feel like a lot of people have a strange misconception that people with ASPD dont feel emotions, so im going to be explaining how i experience various emotions. feel free to share your experiences as well, either in comments or reblogs, i think its interesting to see how other people experience things

happiness - happiness for me is like... "i enjoy this situation" i guess?? like i wouldnt say its necessarily fun or entertainment but just a situation that i enjoy and find positive, usually not an intense feeling for me but not super dull either, intensity levels can vary ofc

sadness - more of a feeling of disappointment, i think? like "ohh that sucks" kinda?? idk i dont really ever get deeply sad, not to the point of hopelessness like some people i know do, more just a disappointment that i can quickly move on from

fear - not much of an emotion as it is activation of fight or flight, theres generally not much emotion or thought behind it, just instinct. i dont really tend to get anxious either, although i occasionally can overthink

anger - probably one of the most intense emotions i experience, its all consuming when i feel it, and physically will feel like hot ice rushing through my veins, impulsivity will also get harder to control

boredom - also one of the most intense emotions i feel, i feel bored most of the time, its like a soulcrushing lack of stimulation. like... being so understimulated that its overwhelming. usually leads to impulsive behavior because i really only feel entertained when there is risk involved

love - love is something i rarely ever feel, i can only think of 1 person in my life who i can say i love without a doubt, for me when i love someone ill find the persons presence calming and they will make me happy to be around, to the extent that ill sit around doing things i find boring just to be around the person. i also notice that when i love someone ill actually consider them a lot more in my decisions, usually im apathetic to most people and dont typically care how my choices or actions will impact people around me, but if i love someone i will go out of my way to not harm them (even if it means avoiding doing something i want to do)

hate - hate is like... caring about someone but in the opposite way of love. i generally disregard my actions impacts on others, but if i hate someone, i will try to hurt them if at all possible. theyre considered in my decisions but in the opposite way of people i love. being around people i hate will make me angry and impulsive

empathy - i dont experience emotional empathy at all, the closest thing i experience to any form of empathy is being able to determine what someone is feeling and sometimes a possible reason as to why. it doesnt mean ill care that theyre upset (in a good or bad way, as in i dont want them to be upset or find it good that theyre upset, but i also dont really feel bad that theyre upset) or even agree that the situation should be upsetting, but i can recognize that they are. depending who they are and how i feel towards them, ill either try to help or just ignore them

guilt - i also dont really experience guilt, the closest thing i can experience is regret i think?? i can acknowledge that i should not have done something because it had a consequence that i dont like, but i dont really feel bad about it, its more of "damn. whyd i do that. now i have to deal with this." instead of an actual guilty feeling. i think my lack of guilt makes it a lot harder to actually learn from my mistakes, because even when something i do has a consequence i dont like, i usually just feel mild disappointment or irritation but not strong enough to keep me from doing the same action in the future

things i noticed/thoughts about most recent rewatches of dps (plus laserdisk deleted scenes):

whenever theres a group scene i've started watching the characters that the story isn't focusing on to see what they do and i've been having a fun time with that. pitts and cameron specifically seem to almost always be doing something interesting in the background.

hopkins!!!! my favorite minor character who somehow got character development despite having like 2 lines!!!! the last guy to stand on the desk but he did it!!!

sometimes i do like to think about what the rest of the students thought about the dead poets society, esp in alternate timeline neil lives dps keeps meeting universe. like yeah theres this guy in their class whose one of the most credited students in the school and we think he maybe started a cult. idk though. but that group runs out into the woods every few days to do god knows what and one of them keeps talking about "dead poets honor" whatever that means and holy shit welton star student neil perry started a cult.

i watched the movie with headphones. and maybe it's because ive seen this movie Far too many times and mabe i'm listening too hard but it was Really obvious sometimes when audio was added in post production. llke in the sweaty toothed madman scene when you can hear laughing and to be fair the camera is behind their heads. but it does Not look like anyone's laughing. my favorite is at the end of the phone call to chris scene where knox is like i'm gonna seize the day!! and runs up the stairs and the poets are cheering him on and neil is sort of yelling "carpe!!!!" and i could be wrong but i'm like 75% certain that the person singing is Also rsl so now neil is just speaking two times at once somehow. anyways it didn't ruin the experience for me or anything it was maybe just a little bit funny to notice but very sorry if this did ruin anyone's viewing.

people talk a lot about how rsl and ethan hawke really made their characters what they are but i have to add dylan kussman to that list. I get the impression that older versions of the movie didn't really give as much depth to cameron and watching dylan kussmans performance is like. he Knew who his character was so fucking well and it shows!! like the deleted scene of them getting clubs assigned. like i could tell So Much about cameron from that scene

for how little she actually appeared, there is an emphasis put on the fact that neil's mom smokes pretty frequently. and i think that's interesting considering neil is one of two poets shown actively smoking. neil's mom doesn't appear for very long in the movie but during that time it definitely seems like the movie is intentionally making parallels between the two, particularly in the last argument with neil's father. neil and his mother are both sitting for almost the whole time, which contrasts with his father who is standing. they are both almost powerless in this scene. they stand up at almost the same time. anyways there's a couple different possibilities for what this could mean? that i've though of? 1. to show that neil's mother is in a similar situation to the one neil is in in regards to neil's father and 2. maybe a stretch here but the theory that neil inherited his mental illness at least partially from his mother. i'm pretty sure 1 was fully intentional on the directors part, not entirely sure about 2 though

unmanned flying desket scene: it's probably cause he and ethan wrote the scene themselves but the way rsl talks in this scene feels more like the way he talks in general than the rest of the script. like briefly neil perry is talking in rsl's voice. one of my absolute favorite scenes though the sarcastic dialogue is so good.

I don't know why, but divine liberarion au gives me some form of catharism and I don't know how to fully explain it. I never really believed, I didn't fully understand religion, nor was I religious ( even though I was something like an altar boy but for girls, but that was due to being an undiagnosed autistic child who thought that if she tried the same activities as her bully, she would become friends with her and the situation in class would improve because she was popular and had influence. Of course she was a fake ginger bitch, in church she pretended that everything was cool between us, but she didn't change at school) but I spent enough time in this, that the statement "smth smth religion is not inherently evil its only the way that its used by hateful people" to hit me hard.

I never believed that the church as a faith was something bad, more the church as an institution and the far right use faith as an excuse to be bad people. Religion gives people hope, strength to live another day in this world, it's cool. It doesn't give it to everyone, for some people a gay cat and a promising dog-human hybrid a younger version of the cat is enough. so I also fully understand greg, why despite abandoning the priesthood he remained religious, despite the fact that I left and do not believe anymore, I am not able to hate religion and consider it as the source of all evil in the world like most of the far leftists around me, because after all religion is a very important part of european culture and history, especially poland, where I come from.

soulmates

the idea of soulmates or "fated partners" is intriguing to me, heres my theory abt the soulmate mechanics of saiki k ^^

my 1st and main theory is that its related to mikos ability to see compatibility, ppl with the highest or maybe only if its 100% compatibility r considered soulmates. however tho i do believe this in general bc it has the most canon backing i dont actually think this could be the case for saiki and aiura, we never get to see it but i think if wed been shown the compatibility (or chance of success) between these 2 it would be low (u can reference my miko analysis for y i think this) so i think theres more than 1 way for ppl to be fated partners. the idea that this is the only way to be soulmates also contradicts info ill provide below

another theory ppl have had is that ur soulmate is literally ur future partner, and at 1st i thought this was implied when i read the manga bc miko says she was "looking into her own future" when she found her soulmate, however after checking a few translations, this seems to be a mistranslation, she uses the same language as she does for any future or non-future readings. this post would b rlly long if i went into it but i think this theory is completely off the table in saiki and mikos case, it would contradict what we know (abt mikos powers, future not being stagnant, the fact she went out of her way to change the future to find her soulmate which would imply it wasnt in her future b4, and more), but maybe the future isnt entirely off the table as a factor for soulmates in general. i do think its possible considering all her talk of future and fate

canon facts abt soulmates:

-they r hardly mentioned at all. the only mentions of soulmates r: 1) when shes talking abt saiki. 2) chiyo thinks shes shuns soulmate, miko doesnt believe so. 3) in 236, a client asks miko if hell ever get married, miko refers him to "the woman of his dreams", NOT his "fated partner" or "soulmate." its unclear if this woman is his soulmate or if she foresaw something else (im in the middle of a reread so pls correct me if im wrong so i can add to this and on that note lmk if my translations r ever off)

-miko mentions she doesnt believe chiyo is shuns soulmate, but she didnt scry this and her language implies she doesnt know for sure. this means their 2-4% compatibility doesnt actually 100% ensure that they arent soulmates, but it might be what made her think they probably arent. this means compatibility may be linked but not entirely indicative of being soulmates

-miko mentions that she was "rlly feeling it" the day she found her soulmate which may imply its very hard and rare for her to see. she also makes no attempts to get any1 else with their soulmates iirc so it seems unimportant and not guaranteed, its only a desire

-compatibility, which may be linked to soulmates, is also referred to as "chance of success", which may or may not be an interchangeable term

so with all that in mind heres my theories for all the ways ppl can be considered fated partners:

-highest/100% compatibility

-your ideal/dream person (i think this 1 may be possible to be unreciprocated or possibly u have to be each others dream person with ur ideals, morals, and plans for the future lining up)

-the person u get with in several possible timelines or in the foreseeable future

-the best future that can be foreseen is 1 where u r together

i also dont think miko can conciously choose or see which "type" of soulmate shes seeing

we also have to consider that compatibility and the future BOTH canonically change pretty easily and altho that concept interests me in the context of soulmates, its rlly hard to consider that here in a way that doesnt stretch too far from theories into just fanon and where soulmates would still mean anything at all, so ill table that for now but the idea that soulmates can be changed is very intriguing and i think its pretty likely when i consider how all of mikos seen powers work

now specifically for saiki and miko: i think theyre some form of the last 1. i think fate brings them together bc every future where they dont meet is a bad future, at least for saiki. this is bc i believe kusuo could never have stopped the volcanic eruption, or at least that it wouldve taken him many more years to do so without miko. therefore each future where theyre happiest is 1 where theyre connected in some way

I have heard SO many theories for it at this point, that I'm sure no matter what it ends up being, there's at least one person out there who predicted it correctly.

I myself don't know which one I find most likely, I've heard good arguments for multiple theories! If I had to list the ideas I've seen brought up so far, it'd probably be:

Myhtical Zoans

-Fenrir, the wolf from norse mythology, whose children eat the sun, seems to be a common guess. I've been kinda against this since day one tbh. We JUST got a mythical wolf zoan with Yamato, not to mention now we have Cerberus as well. Not impossible though, just unlikely. Or at the very least underwhelming.

-Jörmungandr, the serpent from norse mythology. This one is more interesting, especially since a large serpent makes me think of Nola from Skypeia, whose kind was associated with the Sun God by the Shandians. Problem is, it's already associated with the Red Line in Elbaph's mythology and in One Piece symbology in general. Then again, sometimes, multiple things share the same symbols in this story, so it's an interesting thought that this could be the case here too. My only other problem with this, once again, it's kinda similar to Kaidou, although he was more of a long fish than a reptile or serpent.

-Human fruit, model Lunarian. Now THAT'S interesting! Perhaps... too interesting. I would genuinely love to see something like that, and he does have these curious wing tattoos, but once again, I wonder if that's a bit too much like the Seraphim AND King, which we just saw in the previous two arcs. It almost feels like an absurd fanservice option. A giant the size of Oars with a Lunarian fruit would explain how people came to think of him as a world-ender in terms of power though, that sounds terrifying. I do like this one a lot, but I don't know if it's likely.

Logias

-I see the idea of a Logia very often, especially in parallel to Hajrudin wanting the Flame Flame fruit. Most people have talked about "Nuclear / Mother-Flame Fruit" or even straight up a "Sun Sun Fruit", which are all the same concept anyway, I guess. This is a popular guess, and does make some sense, but I think it's too straightforward and direct for my tastes. When we have Ace, Sabo, Sakazuki and Oven, another fire/heat/flame power just sounds uninteresting to me. As always, it's not unlikely though. I think that, if this is it, I'd rather it be framed as being tied to the Mother Flame, rather than something more generic like "nuclear power" or "the sun" - why yes, there IS a small thematic difference. Either way, not a huge fan of this, but Oda could make it work I suppose.

-Some other Logia I have not thought or heard about could be possible as well. Can't think of what, though!

Paramecias

-OK I think here comes the silliest, but also my favorite guess. The Gum Gum fruit. Yeah this is the Tekking guess. The idea that Loki has the actual rubber paramecia, and that the people of Elbaph associate it with Nika due to the superficial similarity. Honestly this would be SO fun, and it's the Silly Choice and I like that. Not to mention the Luffy parallels. However, a few problems arise. The main one being Vegapunk saying there exists no such fruit in the records. He could easily just, not know about it though, but it's kind of an Occams Razor situation. Especially considering he'd been to Elbpah before and knows plenty about them. If the royal family had this fruit, he might have known about it. Nothing is impossible, though, so who knows! Another little issue is that the giants have seen Luffy's Nika form, so if they initially thought Loki had the Nika fruit due to the confusion, they'd have probably brought it up. Like "ooh maybe that's not what Loki has after all, this pipsqueek has it instead", idk. That might be nitpicking lol.

-Theres a bunch of other paramecias you could give him honestly, but I can't think of anything specific. Perhaps something around his newly revealed hammer and the way he wields it? No clue. This is the most strange and creative category, just look at Gunko's Arrow Fruit. Anything relating to weapons, or mass destruction or trickery and manipulation, all of these fit him thematically. Maybe even illusions? That might be too simple, considering the fruit has been described as legendary. It'd be hard to predict it, if it really is a paramecia.

That's all I have in mind for now! Honestly, I can see Oda throwing an insane curveball and have it be something completely unexpected that hasn't even been mentioned here. Only time will tell.

(Legion) Charr relationships always facinated me in some way, I think despite taking inspiration from real world cultures Charr really crank the Militaristic culture to the max. I think you can play with the cultural inspiration for the charr while also taking in their animalistic nsture to form a sort of mix of the two. It makes sense that legion charr don't have a hand in raising their own children, it makes sense these children then go to form the strongest bonds with their bandmates in hopes of that giving them the motivation of a deep connection to fight better and fight harder.

But the Individual relationships strike me as the most interesting. We know that its uncommon (though not given a specific statistic) that Charr have a life-long partner, and most relationships are casual or with the goal to have children, cement a legacy, and move on. We Also know that Charr value Loyalty above all else, its deeply ingrained into every part of them to be loyal to their legion, their warband, how does this loyalty transfer to personal relationships? For the few charr that decide to form long-term partnerships I say...A Lot.

Since the concept of marriage doesn't really have a stake within the legions, I think that the charr forming long term relationships take these relationships extremely seriously! (Usually, there will always be exceptions.) Loyalty to the person you chose is a hell of a thing, and I can see the reason for these relationships being discouraged is because having a very specific relationship like that can be detrimental if the couple cant shake the loyalty to each other over the loyalty to the Whole. Of course the same could be said for both platonic and Familial relationships, but for the sake of talking about romantic ones, it does come with different connotations.

humans (Generalized/ this is for my essay lets just all go along with it) tend to follow the steady road of Meeting/Friendship-> Dating -> Engaged -> Married

Charr, then, would only have Meeting/friendship -> Mate

I may be silly for thinking this but in the legions I cannot really see there being the same in between stages we have bc there is simply No time for it, but I also wouldn't Necessarily say that charr partnerships jump straight to the equivalent of Marriage, I do think it Does encompass a much deeper bond that over time just evolved to that equivalent.

So Deciding to form that sort of long-term partnership /is/ quite a big deal to the Charr that do.

And, to slightly pivot from this, I do think its fun and probably fitting that Charr are a sex-positive culture espeically if most of their relationships Are Casual. I remember that one dialogue between two charr insinuating theres a sort of unqiue code Charr have to signal preferences which is so fun these guys are freaky thats great.

BUT ANYWAY. Ive just been thinking about this a lot for erm. Obvious reasons. I do think a legion's charr opinions on long-term vs casual relationships would actually be quite a deep insight into their character considering the type of culture they come from or even if they have broken free of that mindset if theyve been seperated from the legions for a while! Anyway!

to be clear, i think its impressive as hell what some people build (i just saw like .. a movie scene with a functioning mech gozilla and tanks made with totks building stuff ... what the fuck) and those things go pretty viral (understandibly so) but i also gotta question

as creative, free, and impressive as it is ... should that have been the focus in a zelda game? like .. is building mechas and tanks like that something that should be in a zelda game? can it be in there without inevitably sacrificing so much else? theres building games just for that? and if you want to make it zelda themed you can make it a spin off?

like i get it, people did crazy things in botw, they saw what people had fun with and dialed it up to a 1000 in totk, which in itself is not bad, even pretty good if you consider gamedevs and feeback and all that bc in general you should embrace what people had fun with in your game even if it wasnt the intent, given that nintendy listens to feedback (perhaps even a bit too much at times) and creative solutions was a central point to botw design philosophy but

i feel like totk kinda .. missed the balance?

if its really a reason why totk is build around enabling that in a purely player centered toy box kind of way without it actually mattering in the story .. or even themes ... was it worth it? not to sound like an oldschool boomer tm but in a franchise that iconic, lore and story focused, should you really abandon nigh all lore/story cohesion just to give the player a big box of toys in a world where i feel that doesnt ,, really belong? in a direct sequel in the same world with the same characters no less? that point is perhaps the biggest issue with it, bc again lots of games even if somwhat a sequel, had strange new tech or things in the world but in all of those cases it was some alternative universe, millenia after the other game, or on an entire different continent; while totk is supposedly just a few years after botw in the very same hyrule

(still doesnt explain the erasing of all shiekah things and replacing it with sonau- tho suddendly revealing the shiekah had actual rockets, wheels with suspension and grenade-launchers, might have been confusing too- you could have enabled the player creativity with shiekah too imo, and personally i would have found it way more fun ... lil guardian leg crawlies ..)

having thought about it feels rather logical why they did it in alot of ways, but also ... totk is build around it, while its also not build around it at all- its build around the PLAYER, not the world, not the story, not the theme, not the character, but YOU (especialyl those that dont realyl care about anythign story or lore stuff and just want to have fun with the gameplay loop, which isnt wrong, but i question whether thats the right kind if player to center in a zelda game .... also not saying all of those that build these crazy things are like that but- ... i hope you know what i mean)

The main Crew

MK - Suklha doesn't hate him, but she DOES get irritated at how hyperactively clumsy he is. She's walking through her life with a poised and perfect form and he's coming in. SIMILAR to wukong in terms of how slobby they can be and impatient. It irritates her like a mother would to a child who couldn't eat his food properly. Besides that, she keeps track of him and makes sure he's improving far more than the monkey king would let on. Might buy him a noodle or two just to spend time, just a little repay for trying to fix Suklha and Monkey King's relationship

Mei - aww She likes her, probably has a good relationship with her ancestor and some of her family. She's a trusted lawyer to them since the olde days, Suklha sees Mei more like a niece along with MK. Suklha is more involved in her family and works behind closed doors, probably a good reason why Mei doesn't acknowledge Suklha till her reveal. The small chance of Mei recognizing Suklha is probably from Media social, and thats only from her name and reputation.

Red Son - has met Suklha a couple of time to accompany his mother's visit. Knows she's bad news and tries to get the gang see how powerful she is. To stop being so clumsy and speedread everything she gave them without double checking. Trust her enough to ask her advice but not enough to help his "friends"

Pigsy - There's some time in her career where Suklha bought more noodles than people think she could handle. She doesn't know the chef personally, but she has a good review of the restaurant. Also, every time she orders the noodles, it gives her a good reason to talk to MK. Funny enough, Pigsy remembers her order (its always consistent) and her fake name she used.

Mr.Tang - generally sees him as a dork. A dork with a dork ancestor and insanely powerful ability for a human, he's a loyal reader at her library. Theres a wicked sense of pride everytime she sees Tang being more knowledgeable than the rest of the crew when it comes to history, she thinks its because of her books. Mr. Tang, as he always is. Would fangirl over Suklha if they were to meet face to face.

Sandy - has seen him around, bately interacted with him. Even if she did, Sandy won't recognize her much. He's not that up to date with drama.

Rest ××××××

Macaque - has a good relationship with him. Considering this macaque is different than the JTTW one, Suklha has a much closer bond to him than the rest. Theres a couple of time where Macaque sneaks in Suklha's office just to talk, to vent or to check up on her. She greatly appreciates his Company, both of them had a problem towards the same person. They bond a little bit over that.

Princess Iron Fan - Both has a similar way of talking, of viewing the world. With the difference of Suklha having a little bit hope of interacting with humanity, while PIF prefers her solitude. They acknowledge eachothers power, enough to be friends. One might sass the other every time they meet, of course this is from a friendly spite.

Demon Bull King - too spiteful to be friends with Suklha, still clings on to her past actions. Which is understandable to Suklha, she doesn't dare force someone to forgive her. He's a bit grateful for her to give his wife her company though, quietly he thanks her.

Brotherhood - They tried to recruit Suklha once back then, she denied. Some of them thought of her quite cowardly, Azure was one of the few that looked up to her a bit. Yet, pity her for the sense of loneliness she's walking in. The brotherhood believed if they managed to recruit her in the past, she could help them overthrow the jade emperor using her strategies. She barely bats an eye over them, besides Azure.

Gold and Silver demons - afraid of her. Has been sued for Intentional misrepresentation (Fraud), Tax evasion, and property damage. They went poor for a while.

Lady Bone Demon - Seeks Suklha knowledge and wisdom in one of her life, to make her plan a fruition. LBD tried to make a pact with Suklha, after flattering her with gifts and sacrifices. Unfortunately, One of the two know better than what meets the eye. Ever since then, LBD had tried to put down Suklha. In a way, to show her if she can't help her, then theres no need for a god of wisdom.

im thinking about the relationship between kankri and porrim because its just so fucking WEIRD like theyre obviously important to eachother or care about eachother to some extent but we dont really know why?? like they dont seem to get along very well

she patronizes him constantly (which is VERY loaded considering they lived on fucking beforus) and ignores his boundaries (calling him patronizing nicknames he doesnt like, wiping his face while he tried to push her off) and he constantly makes insensitive bitchy bigoted comments that go against all of her values and make her angry

and theres not the same dynamic dolorosa and signless had where she raised him like theyre the same age so why do they even talk to eachother?? what is their relationship?? like were they childhood friends or something?? itd make sense if they were both a little different as kids and therefore got along better but then why do they still talk to eachother when they really dont now ITS SO WEIRD

It's... Complicated. They go way back, as far as I can tell.

The way I see it, they do not have a "Mother and Son" relationship- I find that most who assert this often place far too much maturity onto Porrim, who is literally 19 years old. It's more like an Adoptive/Found Sibling relationship between someone with a severe case of Eldest Daughter Syndrome and the social conditioning of a higher-end Midblood on Beforus, and someone with a chronic case of Only Child and the social conditioning of a Mutant Lime on Beforus. The relationship makes more sense to me when you view it this way. It's just... A fraught sibling relationship, formed under societal pressures we can't even fathom. Porrim Maryam, trained by society to cull those beneath her, trying hard not to, and for the most succeeding outside of someone very close to her, and Kankri Vantas, culled and isolated his whole life, becoming a total suck-up to the deeply misogynistic, ableist, hemoloyal culling system as both a method of self defense and as a wielding of the only weapon he really knows. It was used against him all the time, and it works, doesn't it? If sucking up to Able-Bodied Male Highbloods and ridiculing everyone beneath that golden standard is the best way to ensure safety, then he's gonna do it. He's essentially a lifelong voter for the Leopards Eating People's Faces Party.

Ultimately, I think what keeps Porrim by his side is that... I think she believes in him. It's like watching yourself lose your sibling to the Alt-Right Pipeline. I think she thinks he doesn't actually believe most of what he's saying, and that this is all deeply reflexive. She's smart enough to recognize the real systemic issues at play here, and that he's essentially caught in chains between 5 different machines that all want him dead. And she's right. When you actually read the shit Kankri's saying, it becomes almost immediately apparent that he's spouting bullshit, and that he absolutely knows this. I think what keeps Kankri by her side is that he knows she cares about him. There isn't any denying it. She might infringe on boundaries, or be generally annoying to him, and keeps doing that frustrating little thing called seeing through his and everyone else's bullshit and calling them out on it- not just including but especially his- but she cares. I think he knows that at the end of all things what he'd have left is her. Is this to say that if you got Kankri to grow a spine and genuinely believe in things that aren't spoonfeedings of the latest Conservative Highblood Talking Point/Psy-Op, he'd be a good person? Hell no. No way. He has a raging savior complex and is way too eager to throw other people under the bus and insult/ridicule them to their faces. He's an asshole. Just completely slimy.

But, again, sibling relationships know no bounds. This kind of dynamic just feels so... Realistic to me. The way their relationship is so strained but still so strong and ongoing just feels so human. I don't know. This is pretty meandering, I just think about them a lot.
