#Grays been emulating windwaker on his pc and I’ve been watching time to time. Reminds me of playing it the first time years ago #I really like the graphics on the hd version with the colouring and everything.. and everything is cartoony #Although it also gives me a fear of the ocean because of its sheer size. Literally miles of water as far as the eye can see #Also had a fear of sailing at night because no music would play and the sharks and seahats would pick on me so I would pass #The controller to my brother. #So anyway the lid piece is looking independently beautiful but the Problem with that is that there was Meant to be another ugly conjoining #piece under its skin Before I made it beautiful on all outsides #So it's a lovely singular puzzle piece with all the corners shorn off from the still-needing-to-be-assembled puzzle #This is not the end of the world I can simply add the less aesthetic piece to the exterior of its pretty skin but it will be Less Pretty #It is Not my favourite But!! This is my first attempt at This Kind of craft and I allowed myself to not know what I was doing #So even tho I was Totally Convinced that I would do it Even Better than the instructions I was using #Such is the hubris of man #Genuinely tho I think it's turning out nice for basically being like 75% scrap :)#Finally got to use those failed Vargas covers cough remind me to measure at some point #That said I've done basically no measuring for this and I enjoy that very much lol #If not for the Order of Events I would be at zero miscalculations! #my art #artists on tumblr #I cannot accept that it has been 5 years already #I know covid messed with everyone’s sense of time but it simultaneously feels so much longer and so much shorter than that #exactly five years ago I was holding onto my mom for dear life and sobbing as we watched lilo and stitch together #not the best movie to watch when you’ve just lost your first ever pet you know #and then I cried myself to sleep at the next morning we never mentioned her again #I know it’s because it was way too painful for everyone involved. but I do wish I was allowed to process that grief properly #instead of bottling it up and pretending everything was okay until I was reminded of her #feeling like my heart was being shattered over and over again every single time #well anyway. enough of that. I’ve allowed myself a nice long cry today and got most of it out of my system #and once I was feeling okay I decided to draw her #and I can count the number of times I’ve drawn animals on one hand so.. I’m not too sure about the result #but it felt like to commemorate her in some way.#so yeah. here she is. my dear girl. the best dog in existence. she was always so affectionate and kind #which I didn’t always appreciate bc of how young I was. when you’re a kid it feels like pets will live forever #never barked. never bit anyone. her only crime was chewing on my mlp and lps toys that I left out on the floor #but I’m grateful she did that. it taught me not to leave my toys lying around and to clean up after myself #she really was taken from me way too soon. ideally she could still be alive right now. but I’ve been down the road of guilt and regret #there was nothing I could do. I was a child. I can only hope that she knew she was loved right until the very end #even if I didn’t know how to show it properly. and great. now I’m tearing up again #I suppose it’s unavoidable. April 12th will always be a melancholy day. and maybe that’s not such a bad thing #it’s good to have a day when I can freely remember her and cry if I need to. it’s healthy. it’s better than crying every day #she never liked it much when I cried. always tried to comfort me. that’s the kind of dog she was. I miss her so much #when I move apartments and get a dog of my own I’m getting a spaniel. just like she was #well. maybe a different colour so I don’t end up sobbing every time I look at it. but spaniels really are the perfect breed #I mean. cavaliers especially were bred for love and warmth. that’s just what I need. it will be nice to have someone waiting for me at home #and while I don’t necessarily believe in the afterlife… I do hope that Fanny’s watching over me #spiritually comforting me when I feel all alone in the world. it’s a nice thought for sure #and hopefully she won’t mind me getting another spaniel too much. it will be done in her honour after all. to make up for my past mistakes

I/we did a bunch of small but important productive things today (chose and ordered a ceiling light for the bathroom, ordered food for the cats, chose and ordered a window film for the bathroom, found an electricity provider and signed up with them) and it feels good. I'm still pretty overwhelmed by everything, but at least things are moving forward.

#also had that 1.5 hour conversation with my husband's grandma. that felt pretty important. someone needs to listen to her and no one else #does really.#the thing with the electricity provider is a bit funny because initially we were told we wouldn't have to do that bc it would be directly #between us & the landlord but everything's not finished so that'll only happen in a few months #but it's fine it was easy to find a good one etc.#tomorrow we'll try to figure out the paint colour for a few of the walls #so that we can finish most of the painting before we move all our stuff in this weekend #I just want to get to the fun stuff (building furniture and organising things) 😭 everything else is so stressful #but at least the place is clean now - my partner & his parents cleaned it today. there was still dirt from all the building stuff #everywhere so that should make a big difference ^^#now. I'm extremely tired so hopefully I'll be able to sleep!#personal

My mom, who visits Iceland every year, really wants to go with me too. I, on the other hand, don’t because she already goes every year.

She’ll start acting like a tour guide and knows exactly where she wants to go, which takes the joy away for me.

Whiiiich is why, when a friend went ‘hey I’m putting something together, wanna come with?’ I was like ‘brb, buying a ticket!’

See, I’d much rather take her to Denmark, something I’ve wanted to do since last year but she keeps finding excuses (like ‘wouldn’t you rather go to Iceland?’). Neutral ground for the both of us! Yay!

#first my eye operation in two weeks #and when I’ve healed it all over for you bitches #no wait wrong meme #but yeah #now I can actually manipulate her into FINALLY going to Denmark #I’ve got a hotel lined up and everything #dad’s offered his car #let’s go alreadyyyyy #Iceland is also really exciting BUT I don’t know what we’re doing yet #apparently so far it involves hot springs #sheep and colouring wool #baking bread in the ground #and we’re also riding horses somewhere #not certain yet #and if it fall through somehow….well! I’ll still have a ticket so 👍#I’m going either way #I say the riding horses so casually but you need to know that we’re friends BECAUSE of them #important detail
