this is such a fun question — i wish i had an answer! most of my "conspiracy theories" have more to do with certain comedians being misunderstood (in both good and bad ways), as people tend to want to like who they like and hate who they hate out of selfishness that is somewhat at odds with reality. at times. like, for example, not a lot of people want to talk about how many comedians actually didn't like sean lock at all in the early 00s because of how cutthroat and competitive he was on panel shows (mock the week flashbacks, anyone?); we don't enjoy thinking about that because, as fans, we all like sean and think he was a hilarious, honest, decent person. i could talk more about this but tbh defending someone i think people misunderstand or tearing down someone people love is kinda...not the kind of discourse i'm trying to do on this website 😅 anyways, that's where most of my theories lie (that and dating theories? maybe?), but that's not enough to call them conspiracy theories ig? this isn't a conspiracy theory, right? because i so passionately believe everything i said there hahahaha

i think argumental is probably the most underrated to me, because as much as...no one...talks about shows like duck quacks don't echo and rhod gilbert's growing pains, they've had enough high-profile or just popular-within-britcom guests that people have checked them out even for just one specific episode. but i feel like no one has watched argumental!!!!!!! which, i get it, it's a lot of straight white guys standing around doing fake mainsplaining lol (please remember that before, like, 5 years ago, that's about all panel shows were) but i think the premise of impromptu debate is really funny, some of the formats really bamboozle the debaters which leads to funny banter and improv, and it was so fun to see sean lock in menace mode as host 😋

i can't say it's the best ever made or anything — because, like series like there's something about movies (jennifer saunders i love you!!!!), rob beckett's smart tv, etc it's just two opposite panels answering kinda boring questions — but if you love david tennant and i know you do because everyone rightly does then you should try comedy world cup! he's such a wonderful host and there are a lot of panel show faves as guests

and on the topic of meh-to-decent formats with A+ hosts and big name panels, have you ever tried was it something i said or insert name here? they each have their moments for sure, i think a lot of people wanted to see wisis come back (maybe we're all just obsessed with david 🤷‍♀️)

a friend of mine gifted me a while of nordvpn, so that's what i've been using lately, but it depends what you need a vpn for. for example, if you're torrenting and need to seed content (for ratios or whatever), you'll need something with port forwarding like airvpn. if you're just trying to find something to switch between countries' netflixes or abuse streaming services, surfshark is very popular but i'd say expressvpn comes more highly recommended. once you pick the vpn you'd like to use, it's easy to find tutorials on youtube!

Oh my where do I start with this chapter?

So after all that they're somehow still in an imaginary place thing whatever? So like after all that barrier breaking thing last chapter they're still in the same imaginary place and it hasn't came as actual time travel type plot. I guess Iam ok with that but like dam what was the barrier breaking supposed to represent another way of izuku getting to shigaraki and getting through his bs power of hate and rejection?!?!

Why is it that all of izukus memories have to directly relate to Tenko? Ok like why is it throughout this whole fight and encounter Izuku only shared like one to two memories about himself but they still weren't directly about him like we got the todoroki fighting him at the sports festival and I think that's it. Also why is it that these Memoires specifically are highlighted like they don't impact izuku directly for him to remember them. Also shouldn't at that time izuku be like a 2 year old or something so how can he remember that. Why does he remember it? Was he in that conversation like did his dad take him and he saw kotaro and all that gist or was it not Izuku's memory at all but just vestige AFO's

Dfo basically confirmed. So the mysterious guy who kotaro met with that's apparently AFO does actually tick off a lot of the checkpoints for who hisashi midoriya really is. My theory is that the man kotaro met with was either afo aka dfo canon or it was hisashi but he works for AFO. Also how does this impact izuku like he never got to fight AFO or interact with him properly (even though they share a lot of parallels) that role was given to bakugo. How will izuku react? I doubt horikoshi will give him the autonomy to do something.

Hori had to humanise shigaraki so we got the other memories. All of this interaction is basically a huge spotlight on shigaraki and there to humanise him. All we see is the league standing next to him all together and people are thinking that this is some found family type of thing when Iam thinking that they look like soldiers taking or waiting for orders from shigaraki. There's also the baby Tenko memories to show Tenko playing around with his two friends that don't even contribute much to plot. We then see him freak out about Mon chans death and all that to humanise him

After everything and Mon chan still had to die. Iam just salty about it like why does the dog always gotta die for some reason?!?! Mon chan deserves better

How did Izuku go from middle schooler to child. Yeah that was some drastic change personally I dont get how izuku went from highschool to middle school to child is it just supposed to be some abstract imagery if it is I wish it was executed better.

Shigaraki is dying? Crumbling apart? And AFO is back??!?!?? So we see shigaraki basically decaying from the inside out somehow is this supposed to represent Tenko coming to light while the evil and irredeemable shigaraki dies which dam hori really has it out for shigaraki. Eldrazi will be the next major antagonist

This is just my own called shot. I will be looking back at this in ~a year and a half to see if I'm right, but I have evidence. I have. Some evidence.

Part 1: Data

I am going to use War of the Spark and March of the Machine as examples, and will assume their models are accurate to Ziplining, the climax event-set of the current arc.

Let's start with War of the Spark. This set had 31 months of "Foreshadow-time", which starts when the first Macguffin is loaded. Kaladesh set this in place with Tezzeret's presence, and the Planar Bridge he stole. I believe Tezzeret's presence was intentional, not just as "an" antagonist, but specifically Bolas' pawn. After that plot beat, it would take almost another year to see the true next step, in Bolas' army of Eternals. 31 months from first contact, 21 months from phase 2. Moving onto the Phyrexian arc, now that we know what we're looking for, we can find the first two teasers of Phyrexia's presence. The first is obvious, with Vorinclex on Kaldhiem, 27 months before MOM, similar to the number gained from the first examination. It would take a full year for this beat to be continued, with Jin-Gitaxis on Kamigawa, giving us 15 months pre-climax, which is definitely a much smaller time-frame, but hey, data is data.

With this information, we can make some reasonable estimations. Ziplining wants between 31-27 months of heads-up between its first foreshadow and its release. Its slotted to come out in Spring 2026, meaning that its first mention should have been during....... March of the Machine.

Hm. If we all rack our brains, maybe we can come up with something that happened in the Phyrexia arc that might've disturbed something that lives in the Blind Eternities...

Part 2: Story

This section starts my more outlandish speculations that will make me look truly foolish in 2 years time.

So, if we continue the pattern of first foreshadow->followup a year later, we would need something that tells the audience what's going on.

You remember Modern Horizons back in 2019? Well its funny, that set was built from the ground up! There was barely any thematic consistency between the cards except for draft archetypes. There were only a few premium Slivers, there just to spice up a limited deck. And the same holds true for Modern Horizons 2, there's even less consistency, each deck is going to feature cards with vastly different flavours!

And then came Modern Horizons 3, themed not around generically powerful cards, but around Eldrazi. Not new Eldrazi mind you, but

Time for crazy theory #1: What if the focus on Eldrazi in MH3 was in order to show the old kind of Eldrazi, so that we would be wowed by the new kind showing up 2 years later?

Now, this sets up some serious expectations! After the second story beat, every set had to do with Wank of the Spank or Mommy! Well that's what I'm predicting.

CRAZY THEORY #2 EVERY SET MENTIONED ALREADY RELATES TO THE ELDRAZI!!!

Part 3: Pepe Silvia

The Death Race set is... well I don't know what planes it takes place on yet, so I won't be making any specific claims. I like Corocojo's theory that it will be taking place on the wasteland plane of Gastal though, so... maybe it was razed by Eldrazi in the past? That one's weak but the next ones are a lot stronger.

Tarkir is pretty clear. Ugin spent a thousand years recovering on that plane, giving it... some connection to Colourless mana? Okay I'll be real this one also sucks

BUT THEN ITS SPACE OPERA TIME! People tend to view planes as one planet, with others just near enough to travel to, but with the deadly void of space/the Blind Eternities between them, and with horrible monsters potentially living Out There! Eldrazi have always been compared to aliens, so it'd make some sense to draw the distinction. Maybe in a plane all about outer space, we could learn more about the origin of Eldrazi. Maybe something that lives in the In-Betweens of reality started in the In-Betweens of planets!

Lorwyn is easily my weakest link. Nissa made contact with Emrakul on Zendikar, then planeswalked to Lorwyn? I'll be honest, not sure what I'm cooking with that one.

But then we get to the real reason I'm making this post. A return to Arcavios, the final plane before the climax. And let me ask you a question. Do we know of any colourless creatures that live on Arcavios?

That's right. Why else would they make the penultimate set a Strixhaven sequel? Because it's been the home of an entirely different kind of titan this whole time.

Part 4: A list of the many reasons I'm probably wrong

Here's a non-comprehensive list of the many reasons I'm probably wrong.

Loot is related to the Fomori, whom have nothing to do with Eldrazi

Kellan has nothing to do with Eldrazi

It probably has to do with dragons cause Tarkir and Arcavios both have extant Elder Dragons and Bolas' probably escaped his meditation realm in the Invasion

Jace already did the whole Eldrazi thing a decade prior why would he be showing up so much if they just want to make him Do It Again

Emrakul is still in the silver moon and its not very likely that she'll escape off-screen

MH3's Eldrazi could just be a way to appease fans who won't get another chance to see them in a long time

We JUST defeated Phyrexia forever, why on earth would the other big bad of the multiverse be next, instead of being saved for 2033 with a smaller big bad in-between

Tezerret has nothing to do with the Eldrazi

Why the fuck would the first "Macguffin foreshadow" be something that happened DURING the last climax

Why the fuck would the second story beat take place in a set WITHOUT A STORY

Mark Rosewater said about Ziplining "I can't even say who the antagonist is". If it was Eldrazi he might've said 'what the antagonist is'

Everything We Know About the Protags' and Rivals' Families

Red/Leaf

Their mother is probably the Pokémom we know the least about. She only ever talks about worrying for her child, and doesn't seem to have any hobbies or anything noteworthy about her. I'm glad that the later games have started giving the moms more personality.

As for their dad, the only reference to him is in the Celadon Department Store. Upon looking at one of the TVs, the protag will say, "A sports game! Dad'll like that!" So we know that their father is a fan of sports, and has enough of a connection with their child for them to know that.

Blue Oak

Of course, he has a grandfather (er, what was his name again?), and that grandfather has a cousin named Samson who lives in Alola. He also has an older sister, Daisy, who has allegedly competed in Pokémon Contests in the past according to a Pokémon Journal in the Sevii Islands. This means she must have traveled to either Hoenn or Sinnoh at some point, probably during her childhood or adolescence. We know nothing about Blue & Daisy's parents.

Ethan/Kris/Lyra (as protag)

This Pokémom still doesn't have much going on outside of talking to other women in town and apparently enjoying cooking, but she does at least assist by managing her child's money. In retrospect, an eleven-year-old in real life probably should not be trusted with all that money, so good idea. Too bad she also seems irresponsible with money, buying things with her child's money without asking them. Sometimes those purchases are helpful, sometimes they're not. Either way, you should get permission first, ma'am.

As far as I can remember, their father is never mentioned.

Ethan/Lyra (as friend)

They live with their father in New Bark Town; as far as I know, their mother is never mentioned. Their grandparents are the Day Care Couple that lives south of Goldenrod City.

Silver

We all know by now that Silver's father is Giovanni. According to the Celebi event, father and son parted ways three years before GSC on Route 22, with Giovanni heading towards the Pokémon League and Silver heading back, presumably to Viridian. If we assume that he is the standard protag/rival age of 11, then he seperated from Giovanni at the age of eight. When he shows up in New Bark Town, he lowkey seems to be homeless. I'm not sure how an eight-year-old without Pokémon would have made it over to Johto alone. The most likely people to help him would be Team Rocket, but he's stubborn enough that he'd probably reject their help. Did he climb through or trek around Mt. Silver?

Despite the many fan theories, the identity of Silver's mother has never been discussed in the games.

May/Brendan (as protag)

A protagonist with two visible parents?! Impossible. But yes, Norman and his wife are still together. In Ruby and Sapphire, your mother specifically mentions that your family moved from Johto; curiously though, that dialogue was changed in Emerald to just say "another region." Later in B2W2's World Tournament, Norman specifically says he is from Olivine City.

The only references to their parents' lives before comes in ORAS, when the mother mentions that she and Norman watched the Litleonids the last time they occurred. Awwww.

May/Brendan (as rival)

They live with their parents, Professor and Mrs. Birch, in Littleroot Town. In Emerald only, they also have a younger brother. Prof. Birch seems to have a very close relationship with their child, though since they're often involved in fieldwork they may not get to see their mother much. Interestingly, Birch and Norman have supposedly been friends "since their school days." That means either Norman had gone to school in Hoenn before moving to Olivine, or Birch went to school in Johto.

Wally

We actually know a lot about Wally's family since it's part of the plot of RSE. He lives with his parents in Petalburg City, who are understandably protective of his health. He later moves to Verdanturf to live with his aunt, uncle, and cousin Wanda. Not much is known about them, other than that Wanda is romantically involved with a guy from Rustboro.

Lucas/Dawn (as protag)

They live in Twinleaf Town with their mother, the Contest star Johanna. She gets out of the house more, both for Contests and to observe her child's success in the Battle Zone.

There are two references to the player's father, and both occur in Platinum. Johanna says that her child reminds him of him and that the two of them "are so alike." Later when met at the Battle Frontier, Palmer will note that he was a friend and rival to their father, similar to how they are now with Barry. Notably, in a very early beta of Diamond & Pearl, the player's father was going to appear early in the game. I don't speak Japanese, but based on the screenshots I'm guessing he was going to be involved in the player's first Pokémon encounter.

Lucas/Dawn (as friend)

They live in Sandgem Town with their father, grandfather, and little sister. Their father works as an assistant to Professor Rowan; nothing about their mother is known. Their sister watches TV a lot, and therefore often hears about swarms occurring in Sinnoh.

Barry

He lives in Twinleaf Town with his mother, while his father Palmer works at the Sinnoh Battle Frontier. Both parents seem to care for their son, but I honestly can't remember them ever talking to or about each other, so I don't know what their relationship status is.

Hilbert/Hilda

The Pokémom of Nuvema Town is said to have been a Trainer herself when she was younger. However, now she mostly stays at home, only departing to give the player the running shoes. In B2W2 she behaves similarly to Red's mother, saying she kind of wants to go out and find her child, but would feel bad if they stopped by while she was gone. Which makes me wonder: does her kid not still have their Xtransceiver? Why can't she just...call them like a normal person?

Their father is referenced by their mother when she says that they met each other on their own Pokémon journeys. Aw, young love. No hints to their current relationship status, though.

Cheren

Cheren lives with his parents in Nuvema Town. I don't remember anything of note about them.

Bianca

Bianca lives with her parents in Nuvema Town, and we all remember how her father acts at the beginning of the games. I don't recall her mother's reaction; apparently she was the one to tell him that Bianca made it to Nimbasa City, so maybe that indicates that Bianca trusts her slightly more.

Nate/Rosa

This is definitely one of the cooler Pokémoms. She is an old friend of Professor Juniper, and used to work in Pokémon Centers (specifically implied to be the ones in Nimbasa and Mistralton). She's knowledgeable about the many locations in Unova, and supports her child by providing information.

Bulbapedia claims that there are references to their dad in the games, but a search of relevant pages has turned up no references.

Hugh

Hugh lives with his mother, father, and younger sister in Aspertia City. His father has the sprite of a Black Belt, and his mother has the sprite of a Nursery Aide, which is a cute pairing. Hugh also mentions that he has a deceased grandfather, who caught his little sister's Purrloin. Hugh is very protective of his sister; overall this is a cute little family.

Calem/Serena (as protag)

They live with their mother, Grace, in Vaniville Town. The two recently moved to the town, but it's unclear if they are from another region entirely, or just a different town in Kalos. Regardless, Grace is known for being a Rhyhorn racer.

The only mention of the player's father is in a story Grace tells about one of her races. She lost control of her Rhyhorn at the finish line, where he was waiting, and she "sent him flying."

Calem/Serena (as rival)

They also live with their mother in Vaniville Town. It's mentioned that both of their parents are renowned Pokémon battlers, which is cool. Otherwise, their father is never mentioned.

Shauna & Tierno

Strangely, we know nothing about these two's families. Shauna seems to live in or near Vaniville Town since she hangs out there a lot, but she doesn't have a house there. Tierno hangs around Coumarine City a lot during postgame, so maybe he's supposed to be from there? But we know nothing about their family lives.

Trevor

Trevor lives with his sister in Lumiose City. Apparently his mother and father are currently traveling the world to train their Pokémon. The world of this game series just seems very chill about family relations, and treats it as socially acceptable to leave your family to take a journey. I suppose they appreciate long-distance relationships or just don't value family that much.

Selene/Elio

They live with their mother on the outskirts of Hau'oli City. Their family was originally from the Kanto region, and the player's mother was once a renowned Meowth trainer, earning the nickname of the "Scratch Cat Girl." She's even seen at the end of the game battling the Masked Royal.

Apparently she is still married to the player's father, who still lives in Kanto. The two keep in touch by sending each other letters.

Hau

Hau lives with his grandfather Hala in Iki Town. He mentions his mother several times, saying he enjoys her cooking; she is not confirmed to be present in the games, but there is a female NPC randomly placed inside Hala's house that some assume to be Hau's mother. His father is traveling on a journey in another region (implied to be Kanto).

Gladion

We all know this by now - used to live with Lusamine, Mohn, and Lillie; then Mohn disappeared, Gladion ran away with Type: Null, and Nebby teleported Lillie to Route 1. An Aether Paradise NPC also notes that Lusamine's father (so Gladion's grandfather) was a wealthy man who loved Pokémon, and he was the one who built the Foundation.

Chase/Elaine

They live with their mother in Pallet Town. Like Red & Leaf's mother, this Pokémom doesn't have a whole lot going on. Bulbapedia says that they have a referenced father; I'm guessing it's that same dialogue in the Department Store from the other Gens.

Trace

Since he's no longer Professor Oak's grandson, Trace seems to only live with his sister. Perhaps another Trevor situation?

Victor/Gloria

They seem to have always lived in Postwick with their mum. She doesn't have a whole lot going on, and the only reference to their father is the statement that the player's bag is a hand-me-down from him.

Hop

Hop lives in Postwick with his parents and grandparents, and Leon used to live there before going off to be a champion and whatnot.

Marnie

Her parents are never mentioned; she seems to live with Piers.

Bede

Bede was apparently raised in an orphanage, so the identity of his parents are unknown.

Rei

Both as the protagonist and as the rival, their family situations are unknown.

Akari

As the protagonist, her family situation is unknown. As the rival, she mentions wanting to send a photo to her parents and brag about her work with the player in the Survey Corps.

Juliana/Florian

They recently moved to Cabo Poco with their mother from a different region. It's implied they may be from Galar, as the mother has a Skwovet and uses the term "cuppa" when talking to Clavell. Their father is never mentioned.

Nemona

Nemona's father, mother, and sister live in Cabo Poco. They moved to the Paldea region when Nemona was seven; their original region is unknown. Nemona's father is on the board of the Rotom Phone company, so they have a decent amount of wealth.

Solomon is Prime Suspect Number 1 and I don’t think he is our Solomon

So I know there’s been some theories floating around that Solomon in NB isn’t our Solomon but the Solomon from the past. I’ve been suspecting it myself at times, even at the very beginning of Nightbringer. Lesson 14 has only increased those suspicions. I also remembered something that should have been a big red flag, which I’ll put below the cut.

What I think may have happened is that past Barbatos, under past Solomon’s orders brought MC to the past/this timeline or past Sol used past Barb’s abilities to see into the different timelines and found that specific MC’s.

It could also be that Past Solomon is just an opportunistic interloper but I’m more inclined to believe that Nightbringer could either be Barb being made to do this under Solomon or even an alias of Solomon and Barbatos being a team. Or maybe it is our Solomon and it’s lighter than what I suspect. I’ll post more about everything under the cut.

He genuinely seems surprised at how MC can befriend demons, especially Diavolo in Lesson 14. He says he wasn’t considering a pact with Levi but would now.

2. He makes a pact with Asmo when he’s been feeling insecure and therefore vulnerable. He even told MC that he would not pursue a pact with Asmodeus in the past but then does so anyways. Which brings me to another point: What if he never had the pact to begin with? Asmo didn’t feel anything towards Sol before this pact like he did with MC, who does hold a pact with another version of him.

3. And then there’s the obvious red flag, that’s been right in front of us the whole time. MC does not have pacts with these brothers yet they still can syphon some of their powers to cast spells like opening the gates to the Celestial Realm or stopping a rampaging Beel.

Solomon not only summons Barbatos to his side but also makes him open a portal back to the castle. Our Solomon does not have a pact with this Barbatos. He should not be able to do this. Solomon should have to reforge his pact with Barbatos just like he would Asmodeus unless there’s some weird exception to him and Barb.

So either our Solomon never showed up at all or Past Solomon replaced him early on. Or our Solomon is up to something, whether it be bad or good.

4. This would also explain why Barbatos is absolutely furious with Solomon. Barbatos used to freely travel between timelines and ended up hurting people. His penance is serving Diavolo and having a pact with Solomon. For Solomon to make Barb use his powers like this would be the ultimate betrayal, especially after Barbatos made him into Solomon The Wise. I do think Solomon knows why Barb is mad. They’re very close in SWD and Barb trusts him. With their friendship, I believe he’d remember an event where Barb was really upset with his actions.

5. Solomon tried to have MC make an unbreakable vow to side with humanity at the fountain. Had it not been for Thirteen coming in and stopping him, this could have turned out worse than the end of Lesson 11.

This is out of character for our Solomon. Our Solomon has always stressed he is humanity’s protector and that he would like us to join him but he has never tried to force us into it in SWD. The choice has always been ours and he’s always been a supportive mentor. He had a huge blowout with a former apprentice many years back and you can tell he has regrets. I don’t think our Sol would do that to MC.

Solomon is not stupid. He knows exactly what he’s doing. He knows the rules of that fountain because Thirteen based her rules for her cave on it. He didn’t forget.

I also think Past Solomon has studied our Solomon quite well to know he is a terrible cook and acts like a “cheerful idiot” at times and has taught himself to play that role.

Now onto MC. I’m not sure if they know at this point. I’d imagine if they did, they’d keep quiet for their own safety.

I also have want to add something else that may be nothing but it’s brought up several times, including recently. Many characters do not even consider Solomon human anymore. Yes, he is immortal but he’s technically human. Is there a deeper meaning behind this or is it just because of their human biases and the fact that he’s extended his lifespan?

Solomon’s Goal

What’s Solomon’s purpose here? To get MC to make the pacts with these brothers and then force MC to side with humanity which would also make them use their pacts and the brothers for humanity against the other two realms. Michael said we’d be an enemy to the Celestial Realm should we side with Nightbringer who very well could be Barbatos, albeit under duress, working under Sol’s orders. Or, on a possible lighter note, using MC as an example to why humans should stand on equal footing to angels and demons.

We will need to find out who the person was that Solomon was talking to as a child. We know he talked to Thirteen but it’s not her because he already told us that. Maybe it’s Lilith? A new character?

Whatever is going on, I believe we are in a different timeline than our original and RAD not being founded yet was actually done on purpose as well as Simeon and Luke appearing now in the DD.

I would love to hear what others have to say. Maybe we can brainstorm? Let me know if I missed something or got a detail wrong! I’m perpetually sleepy like Belphie these days so I may have missed something.

Can We Talk?

A/N: Hey y’all! If I didn’t know any better, I’d suspect y’all really like Karis and Kevin, probably because we’re deprived of Kevin being happy on the show. School has been beating my ASS and had taken all bits of skill (writing included) from me. Hopefully, I can create more this summer! Anyways, I hope you all enjoy Karis and Kevin’s first date!!! Like many other Milennials, one of the staples of Karis Brown’s social life was weekend brunch. Sunday Brunch, specifically, was for recapping the times of fun from the night before. However, this Sunday Brunch was no usual outing. It was a date with Coffee Bae, Kevin. He’d called her 20 minutes before to set it up and it was up to her to solidify an unforgettable second impression.

*buzz* *buzz* Incoming Group FaceTime Call from Sisterhood of the Traveling Scrubs

Loren and Jada were waiting on Karis to answer. “Heyy—oop! Hold on…,” Jada watched Karis as she propped her phone on a shelf, “…girl, what you got goin’?!” Loren brought her attention to the screen. Essence, Rose, and Rochelle all staggered into the group call, all shocked to see their friend searching for an outfit.

“Who you gettin’ cute for, bitch?,” Rose demanded. Everyone seconded her question.

Karis laughed to herself, “I never got a chance to bring it up, but I met a guy at Jahva on Friday. He asked me out for brunch, so I’m taking him up on his offer.”

“WHAAAAAT?!?!? Karis Zhanai Brown…going on a DATE?! He better be the finest man in the city,” Essence added, the girls agreed, “Does he have a name?”

“Kevin,” Karis replied fighting a cheesy grin. The girls had been Karis’s girls since med school orientation, but they still knew how to grind her gears. It didn’t make it any better that they were neighbors with key access to each other’s houses. They were going to be over there when Karis and Kevin returned from brunch. She was certain.

Karis paid her friends no mind as she changed into her sweatsuit. The girls threw out hypotheses and theories about this mythical Kevin. Little did they know, they were on mute as Karis tamed her coily hair into a half-up half-down style.

Karis finally unmuted herself as she laid her edges, “Y’all done?” Her friends looked to each other in silence, shocked that she’d just spoken after 5 minutes of unbridled chaos. “I just want to have a good time…for once. Let me just go to brunch and enjoy Kevin’s company. I appreciate the uproar around him, but let’s take this one moment at a time, aight?” Karis got up to pick out some shoes, “Sacai’s or Yeezy’s?”

Karis couldn’t remember the last time she’d been on a date. She couldn’t even remember going to a pleasurable business dinner. Studying and practicing medicine drained her of a social life and the opportunity to go on dates. Her family worked tirelessly for her to be the first doctor in the family, not be another wife. But this brunch date was different.

Karis sat in the car 10 minutes ahead of schedule, chest tight, and palms sweaty. Every social skill she possessed suddenly ceased to exist in this moment. She couldn’t even read the menu she’d just Googled. How amazing was the sight of the incomparable Dr. Karis Z. Brown herself—the surgeon that could do CABGs with one arm tied and repair carotids for breakfast—nearly hyperventilating at the thought of going to brunch with someone she met in her godparents’ coffee shop earlier in the week. “Get it together, mane,” she encouraged herself as she opened the car door to the slap of the sharp October Chicago wind at your face.

“What if she ghosts and makes me look like a fool?,” Kevin asked Kim as his leg bopped to the beat of the overhead music.

“Based on what you’ve told me about her, she doesn’t sound like the ghosting type. Besides, she’s 5 minutes early. Just breathe, Kev,” Adam instructed him over the phone. “Hey…,”he caught his attention, “…she might be as nervous as you are, if not more. The way you talked about her yesterday, it sounds impossible that she’d flake. Go enjoy yourself.”

Just as the call disconnected, the elevator door opened, revealing a nervous Karis looking down at her phone. Kevin’s face lit up as he saw her walk towards him in her khaki sweatsuit, brown fleece coat, matching chocolate Telfar, and Yeezy Foam Runners. She noticed his jeans, grey hoodie,navy flannel shirt, and wolf grey retro Jordan 12s.

The two embraced for the first time ever. She wasn’t certain of the cologne he wore, something with tobacco…maybe musk and leather… but whatever it was made her melt into his embrace. Lord, he smelled like a grown ass man.

After reluctantly pulling from his embrace, he offered Karis the seat in the booth. “A gentleman,” she complimented. The smile that tugged at the corner of his mouth spread to a full smile.

Karis got a corner glance at his shoes before he sat down, impressed at his shoe choice, “It could be my exhaustion, but are those the wolf grey 12’s?! They’ve been sold out here since I’ve moved here.”

His jaw dropped, “Girl, what you know ‘bout that?! Lemme find out you a sneaker head and a surgeon?!,” he remarked.

She threw her hands up, “Guilty as charged. It’s like the one thing that keeps me sane.” Karis felt her gapped smile betray her once again as she nervously fiddled with the gold necklaces around her neck. Kevin took notice; he was already entranced by her smile. He bit his lip, thinking of what to say next. The waiter coming to send the mimosa and water carafes gave him enough time to conjure something.

He looked at the caduceus and anatomical heart necklaces, “You always knew you wanted to be a heart surgeon?”

Karis glanced down at her heart necklace, shaking her head, “Nope. Wasn’t even in the cards until my med school rotations.”

Kevin’s eyes bucked open, “For real?!”

“I initially wanted to be a trauma surgeon or in sports med,” she admitted, filling both stemless flutes with passion fruit mimosas.

Kevin took a sip, noticing the potency of the drink, “So…shit that’s strong…what was that ‘a-ha’ moment?”

“My mom. She’d gotten sick from past trauma and I almost lost her. She had a cardiac tamponade—fluid from a sac in the heart fills the veins and blood and decreases oxygen flow, amongst other things. I wanted to help find a cause and solutions for her, so I went deep in my cardio books and found something. It saved her life.”

“I take it you and ya moms close?”

She pondered, “I’m her only child and there was a point that we were all we had. With everything we went through, we became trauma bonded.”

Kevin didn’t think he and Karis would have somewhat similar upbringings. His raising himself and later his siblings in Chicago and her being basically raised in Memphis by her mom before she met Karis’s stepdad. He had her figured out until they conversed.

It was easy to talk to each other. The conversations with one another felt familiar, as though they’d been friends for ages. With the aged feel of those conversations came the novelty of learning about one another. Karis quickly learned that Jordan and Vinessa—Kevin’s siblings—were the center of his universe. He showed her pictures of them, the smile on his face getting brighter the more he talked about them. In the same vain, Karis’s nieces and nephews (her step-sister Mary Margaret’s kids) were the lights of her life. Karis showed him the picture of her, Mary Evelyn, Luke, and Jacob at Jacob’s baptism. They were her “loaner kids” whenever she was back in Memphis.

Kevin’s gears began turning. He noticed how much Karis was active in church, based on the baptism picture and the mention of receiving Eucharist earlier this morning. He had to ask, “You Catholic?”

She huffed, “Close. Episcopalian. My mother is married to the Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of West Tennessee. Charleta Duncan, the blackest of women, married the whitest man in all of Memphis, Patrick O’Doughtery Brown. Yet it somehow works,” she caught herself holding back a loud laugh. Kevin laughed with her.

Karis finally checked her phone, which revealed that an hour and a half had passed. Where did the time go? Karis also saw the group chat was abuzz for updates and her whereabouts. Loren and Essence were asking for Kevin’s Social Security number, while Jada asked for his dental records (ironic since she was a DDS) and most recent background check. Karis prayed an “I’m fine. Lemme have fun” reply would suffice.

The DJ had been playing 90s R&B all day. Banger after banger after banger, people found themselves dancing in between tables and singing their hearts out.

Then it happened. She heard the three piano chords and 808 beat of her favorite song, Can We Talk, and that was all she needed to hear. Karis dramatically dropped her phone on the table, hands high in the air as to submit to the beat of the song.

“Girl whatchu know bout this,” Kevin joked as he watched her dance in her seat.

She didn’t respond. Karis waited for the lyrics to start. As Tevin Campbell began to talk his shit, so, too, she began lip-syncing to the words. Kevin, also singing, scooted out of the booth. He reached out for her hand saying, “Let’s talk then, mamas.” Karis accepted his offer, sliding out of the booth.

“Lemme show you how to step,” he offered. He took her free hand into his. He began twirling heg around, while moving his feet front, back, front, side, side, left, and right. She did her own combination, surprising Kevin.

He twirled her away from him, “I thought surgeons couldn’t dance,” he pulled her back in close.

“You ain’t met one from Nawf Memphis with an uncle and aunt in Chicago, mane,” she retorted. The pair continued stepping, working in tandem with the rhythm. He maneuvered her away and close to him while still singing with her.

They sang the final bridge at the top of their lungs. Everyone else in the restaurant became a choir as they all sang aloud. As the song ended, Kevin escorted Karis back to the booth. Luckily for them, the waitress had finally appeared with their entrees. Kevin remarked about the fun he had and how ready he was to eat. Karis seconded.

As Kevin ate the sample of salmon and eggs she offered, she found the right moment to ask, “Y’know, you’ve asked a lot about me. I wanna know about you. If you don’t mind me asking, what do you do for a living?”

He choked on a piece of egg, “I’m a uh…business consultant,” he replied after gathering himself.

Her gut turned as he replied, “Is that your final answer?” He knew she knew something. Not quite that he was an undercover cop, but something.

“Yeah,” he answered.

“What’s your life goal?,” she asked without skipping a beat.

Kevin pondered, “Being a househusband.”

“You’re joking,” he wasn’t. There was a smirk held back, but he was about 45% serious.

“I mean, you’re a surgeon. Jackpot, right?,” he winked and licked his lips.

Karis re-adjusted herself, tilting her head before she spoke.

“To call yourself a househusband implies that we got married; to be married implies that we were betrothed; to be betrothed implies that were courted; to have courted implies that we went on other dates besides this one. Correct me if I’m wrong, Mr. Atwater, but it appears that you’re enjoying yourself and want to go on a another date?,” she observed as she downed her final mimosa, proud of her Sherlock-level deduction skills.

“Somethin’ like that. I do like being around you and I’d love to see you again,” Kevin offered her another bite of his chicken and red velvet waffles as he looked at her, clearly flustered at his charm and suave nature.

“I’d love a second date.”

He insisted on following her back home. He was concerned for her safety and wanted to see his date get in the house. He jogged to her door from his Hellcat, being sure she didn’t touch the handle. After the fight over the check (which she won), the least he could do was open Karis’s door. Karis usually went through the garage into the house; but since she had an audience in the foyer, it was her obligation to give them a show.

Karis led Kevin through the pathway in her front yard to the door. The rustled curtains confirmed Karis’s suspicion of nosy ass friends awaiting her arrival.

Kevin looked behind his date to see curtains rustling, “You must have someone over expecting you.”

Karis kicked the front door and adjacent wood panel, an attempt to shoo the girls away, “Oh, Kev, don’t pay they nosy asses no mind,” she said loud enough for them to hear inside. The two of you guffawed. The fact there were doctors listening to their friend’s conversation behind the door and foyer wall was so childish, yet comical. In the midst of the laughter, Kevin found her hands and held them between the two of them. Smooth fucker.

Once more, their eyes connected and simultaneously bit their lips, smitten with each other in the moment.

There was an obvious connection between the two love birds. For once, they mutually felt a sense of relief to be themselves. How is it that two strangers that met in a coffee shop by happenstance, were already so close after one brunch date? The romantic tension around them was nearly physical. It seemed as though they couldn’t be too far away from each other. Every once in a while, two people meet and in that initial meeting, it’s apparent to the Universe that they are meant for each other. They weren’t able to put their finger on it immediately, but this was Kevin & Karis. For once, they were able to enjoy someone’s company and immediately want to go somewhere else before their first date ended. They were destined.

“Karis, I really enjoyed you today. Seriously,” Kevin flashed a smile that made Karis’s feel an unfamiliar warm sensation radiate through her body.

“Same here, Kev. This was a breath of fresh air. We should do this again. Hopefully soon?”

He gently placed his large hand over her chin, peppering her lips with a meaningful, yet brief kiss, “Yeah. Real soon. I’ll holla atcha when I get to the crib?”

The sensation of his kiss, though temporary, weighed on her lips. She’d gone a hot minute without a kiss on the lips, yet his satisfied the long-ignored absence.

“Yeah,” was all Karis could muster.

He flashed one last wink before ducking into his Hellcat and driving off.

Karis couldn’t focus on getting your key into the door. Between the kiss, the cold, and the mimosas, she was literally stuck. After struggling to turn the key into the ever-moving lock, her friends were pushed out of the way by the 70+ year-old wooden door. Karis silently made her way to her usual spot on the L-shaped sofa. The girls filed into their usual seats in the den, all grinning with anticipation to ask about the date, parts seen and unseen. The minute Karis looked up, they all shrieked, startling her. “Don’t start allat bullshit, now,” Karis warned as she took her bra off, sighing in relief.

The warning went unanswered; the girls attacked their slightly buzzed friend with a group hug, to which she immediately swatted away.

“GIRL!,” Essence began, “He is FOINE AS HELL! Look at you!”

Loren added, “I gotta say, Kare, you did good. The fact I’ve never seen him before shows me that you’re real good. You gotta tell everything! I mean…ev-ver-ree-thang!”

Karis recalled what she could, from the call to the kiss. The whole time, she grinned, showing how smitten she was with Kevin. Seeing her elated made them happy. They knew the insecurity she had about being alone.

A few hours passed and everyone had returned home to get ready for work. Karis showered, did her nightly skincare routine, and prepped her work bag. Finally in bed, she turned to cut her bedside lamp off.

As if on cue, her phone buzzed. Kevin was trying to FaceTime.

“You must’ve seen me get in bed,” she jokingly answered.

Kevin chuckled, “Nah, just calling to let you know I got home 40 minutes ago. I had to help Vinessa with somethin’ and forgot to call you.”

“Oh really?,” she yawned, “Welp, I gotta be at Med at 4:45 a.m. for a surgery. Talk to you afterwards?”

“Sounds good, mamas, sounds good. Night.”

“Night, househusband-in-training,” she concluded, both laughing at her recall of their new inside joke.

Karis chuckled to herself as the sounds of crashing waves lulled her to sleep.

Kevin is going to be here a while.

SKZ flix theory

I have no where to post this, so i’m posting it here

so lets begin

My personal theory on what actually happened

Skz in the parallel universe is actually trying to save a multitude of different worlds and preserving their specific timeline

For once, Felix was sent on a solo mission, to save this specific world that did not have him in it and I personally believe that he has the power to blend in and imprint on his surroundings so people do not see him as an anomaly. None of the other members could have done so because they all had their own timelines there. In that way, they only need to save a specific person, which I am assuming is Lee Know. Lee know who is an aspiring actor might have been on the verge of giving up on his dreams, which would result in the ‘reality’ that the original stray kids that are travelling the universes are trying to avoid. This can be seen through the injuries in Lee Knows face, in which he assumably got into a fight or was perhaps bullied since he is seen skipping class, but still hopeful with his dreams because of yongboks support.

Eventually Jisung and Seungmin find Lee know and Yongbok, with the main focus on Lee Know after Yongbok suggests they go on a walk, leading him specifically to that spot in which Jisung and Seungmin would take an interest in him as the main actor, seeing his potential which Yongbok was already well aware of. After all this, everything slowly comes together, assumably with Yongboks help since even the film festival is multiverse related. I am just assuming yongbok has the power to alternate time and space however he wishes, planting this whole thing as an idea. To those who think yongbok is invisible to everyone but lee know, he isn’t. He actually offered Jeongin a sandwich which jeongin accepted and eventually it ended up getting stolen by Hyunjin during filming.

However, yongbok has specifically allocated himself a side character sort of role within the film despite him being one of the actors, something that is not important and the film could still go on smoothly even without this character. In this way, Yongbok can easily be removed from the movie as a whole after people ‘forget’ him, which is also him bending the reality. This is seen through that one shot where Changbin had to do special effects. Yongbok was there the entire time but in the final cut, he isn’t even seen.

Eventually this leads to the scene at the bus, which everyone is asleep and Yongbok, without knowing, thinking they are still filming, says ‘I have to go back now’. (i got the order a bit wrong, but it still relates) Everyone being asleep is probably the sign of the ‘universe saving’ stray kids, saying that your mission here is almost finished and to wrap up quickly. It is only after this that yongbok got cut from the scene where changbin did the special effect (this is the part i got the order wrong) which is my assumption that he has started bending reality back to the way it is supposed to be.

Afterwards, in the theater, while watching the final result, it is seen that no one remembers yongbok as a result of the bending of reality, leaving only lee know, who was supposed to remember him since he needed to bring lee know back on track to his dreams, and lee know acting in this was the first step. Lee know then runs back to the spot where he was seen skipping class at the start of the film, showing a parallel when yongbok skips ‘their first screening’. And it all comes together when you remember that at the start, Yongbok said something about the teacher wanting them to draw someone, yongbok said he drew jinyong, but i am assuming he lied and drew lee know as a form of premonition in what he was going to do. He was going to paint the perfect scenario for them to live out their dreams together as seven people, jinyoung being part of got7, another premonition on what felix’s final result was supposed to be.

Finally, it shows the alternative of reality where Lee know was originally supposed to be, not at the movie, with cuts on his face, lying down on the wooden platform, yongbok/felix taking his place in that world to maintain order before returning to the stray kids he was originally from.

The Disappearance of Yuki Nagato, Episode 1.

I like how, back in Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya, I said they should just stop the movie halfway through and end it on everyone settling into the new reality and accepting this world as it is. But the movie disagreed with me.

But then they cancelled the show and when they brought it back they decided that they want to make a show in the new reality instead of going back to the original canon.

So I feel kinda vindicated by that.

I am so confused by the status quo of Yuki World. Specifically Kyon. But also specifically the continued existence of Yuki World post-Disappearance.

Melancholy was always pretty up-front with the fact that it does not operate on Multiverse Theory. There exists only one timeline, with time travelers moving back and forth between points on the single line - and, in fact, the presence of people from the future in the past is already baked into the present.

Kyon had to travel back in time to meet Kid Haruhi on Tanabata and give her the idea to go to North High because that's how the history goes. Kyon was always there on Tanabata giving Haruhi the idea to go to North High.

So I am already baffled about what this world is. Kyon is part of the Literature Club and has dinners with Yuki and Ryoko, which implies that he remembers the events of the movie. We don't know much about Alt Kyon but we do know that he and Yuki never spoke two words to one another.

So it could be, like, a What If scenario if Kyon chose to stay and not end Yuki's new reality. But this can't be Original Kyon because he's on good terms with Ryoko. Our Kyon was quite understandably freaked out by the girl who tried to stab him with a knife.

Are we in "Out-of-continuity Loosely Based On" territory? Because they're making references to the movie in the first two minutes so it feels like a direct spinoff. Even though it's metaphysically impossible to be a direct spinoff, because this reality doesn't exist anymore.

(Also Haruhi made her intentions pretty clear that she wanted to form an SOS Brigade on this side of the temporal fence so the fact that Yuki World still has a Literature Club is another mark against a direct spinoff.)

I dunno. My mind is spinning.

Wonder if Yuki still has Haruhi's powers in this reality? Huh.

Also, I like how Yuki Show begins where Disappearance was. This world was created in the days leading up to Christmas, so it figures that a Christmas Party would be the first thing we're doing. The chronology is consistent.

Which. Again. Makes it so baffling. Are we spinning canonically out of Disappearance or doing our own thing? Make up your mind!

That being said,

New Yuki is such an neurodivergent disaster girl. XD

Yuki: I want to be able to experience a full range of emotions and feelings. Monkey's Paw: I mean you're like 15 which is a pretty overwhelming time hormonally but sure. Here you go. Unlocking full range of emotions to process for the very first time ever in your life.

I wonder how much Ryoko knows? Her appearance at the end of Disappearance implied that she retains at least enough understanding of the situation to kill Kyon with a knife without even questioning why he was trying to shoot Yuki full of science gun.

I don't think she's still a Space Robot because if she had Space Robot powers that fight would have been much different. But she fully understood the situation when she showed up with knife in hand. And I think we can be pretty sure that she did that on her own; Yuki did not intend for her to kill Kyon.

But also, it's not clear how much of Disappearance actually applies to the reality of Yuki Show since Yuki doesn't remember meeting Haruhi and Haruhi hasn't formed this world's version of SOS Brigade.

One way or the other, at least she's still secretly vicious. I love her. Ryoko is making a compelling argument for Best Character and we're only six minutes in.

been thinking about steven universe lore and timescales

like. specifically the way the earth looks. everybody talks about the giant hole in russia but im more interested in whatever the fuck is going on with south america and africa. you can't pin that on the gem empire because (according to a quick google search) those continents split 140 MILLION years ago

there's also other minor changes like india, australia, florida, etc... but those are relatively minor things compared to south america taking half of the sahara desert with it (or what would eventually become the sahara desert)

but the fact that these changes happened in the fucking mesozoic make me wonder what changes this, realistically, would have had on the development of life. obviously a change this gigantic would drastically alter the way things shake out, but this has to be handwaved away in order to not fuck up everything and i can accept that

i just wonder what impact this mightve had... specifically on human evolution, since they originated in Africa and now there's a giant bite taken out of it. ecosystems would be different. rain would have less distance to travel to certain parts of africa and there'd probably be more rain. less of a huge desert over there, i would assume. maybe the shrinking of rainforests that drove the ancestors of humans to climb down from the trees and start walking around upright may never have happened... or maybe just happened later on, but that would still lead to drastically different outcomes

but anyway, the diamonds are 20,000 years old (i vaguely remember hearing that this number was never official or was retconned or something along those lines- but even if it's doubled or increased tenfold that's nowhere near ONE million years)

so there's no way they can be responsible for that part unless gems are WAY older than previously thought. maybe some kind of previous gem civilizations...? separate from the empire...? perhaps earth had native gems millions of years ago

(or maybe gems originated on earth but that doesn't feel right to me. dont like that theory, just let aliens be aliens lol)

i mean. maybe the south-america-takes-piece-of-africa thing happened recently. but like. how. gems really don't seem to be capable of terraforming on THAT scale, at least not without it being a big deal or coming up EVER. i imagine you'd need like a whole army of Lapis Lazulis to manage that sort of shit. and for what purpose??? what could that possibly do to benefit gems that they couldn't accomplish some much easier way than ripping a chunk out of a continent and plopping it somewhere else

but the gem timescale thing touches on something that's always kind of irked me. I've always gotten the impression that gems are immortal and live for thousands of years because gems are geologic objects and shit, and geologic time is super long to the point where a thousand years is nothing, it's the blink of an eye. yet the whole gem empire is only a few tens of thousands of years old...? that's brand new in geologic terms- modern humans showed up 200,000 to 300,000 years ago (according to another google search) and it feels strange to have gemkind be YOUNGER than humankind

there's also the line yellow diamond says at the end of the SU movie when spinel mentions having waited 6,000 years, "it's true! that's nothing!"

like what do you mean??? if you're 20,000 years old, 6,000 years is over a quarter of your whole life. a 20 year old human saying that 6 years is no time at all to wait for someone, or an 80 year old human saying 24 years is nothing, would just be bizarre.

obviously gems would percieve it different since they don't have to spend any of their life as children and start adulthood right off the bat, but still...

but back to the continent thing, i think what really caused it is just the gem universe being different from our universe in some way. maybe Earth has a subtly different mineral composition or something, causing subtly different flow of magma or rock or whatever that tectonic plates float around on. maybe millions/billions of years ago when earth was getting bombarded by shit from space, a couple asteroids hit- or missed- when in our universe they did the opposite- adding slightly more or less of certain minerals. not a lot, just a tiny bit so that the effects wouldn't really show until the mesozoic. maybe this was caused by something related to the gems- maybe not them directly, but a butterfly effect caused by something. dunno

I want to talk a little about Pierro and Neuvillette.

With Fontaine's impending arrival, speculation is rampant. It's coincidentally my favorite time, because the theory crafters roll up and we all begin sharing our ideas of what could be happening. I'm going to keep this as spoiler free as possible, but I'm still placing it under a cut for people, just to be safe.

The concept that Pierro and Neuvillette are the same person is not that far-fetched. Based on Wanderer's story quest we know that the Fatui had a variation on a cloaking device about 400-500 years ago. That isn't something they developed. It's likely Khaenri'an tech that could have been modified by Dottore later on or was put into use as is. It's also connected specifically to Dottore and Pierro as they are the names mentioned when the device makes it's debut. Since everything Hoyo does is intentional, the device was bound to show up later on.

One thing about the device is that when in use, the user may look similar to their original self or a variation on their own looks, but it's not completely different. In Dottore's case, the version that we see is likely what he looked like before he began experimenting on himself. The segment we know in game is an enhanced version of the actual individual. The same principle can be applied to Pierro/Neuvillette. The "mask" version of Pierro is a younger version of himself before he was impacted by the abyssal corruption in the cataclysm.

 The only variable is how it impacts the eyes. We don’t know if the Dottore of the past is the original incarnation or if it’s a segment. Based on the visuals in the story, the monster has two little birds with it, meaning Dottore had succeeded in duplicating himself by this point. If you look at the segments without the mask, then they have no eyes. Escher, has red/maroon eyes, similar to the web comic version of Dottore. For purpose of my theory, I’m going with the concept that the Dottore we meet in the past is the original Dottore, meaning he has eyes and the device can change the persons full appearance.

So the question is, why? How does this play into the story?

A fun fact about Fontaine is that it will be first nation to not feature one of the Harbingers mentioned in the Pale Flame Set, nor does it have a long serving Harbinger like Dottore, Scaramouche, or Signoria (RIP) running the proverbial show. Arlecchino is set to make her in game debut, but you have to wonder if all is well for her. Thanks to Childe and Wanderer, we know there are trust issues with her. If those two see that she's a red flag, then the others are bound to as well. An argument can made for that based on Signoria's funeral. The shot at the end show's Arlecchino in the background, near Pierro. She and Childe are standing to Pierro's left, directly in his field of vision, signifying that he's got his eye on them.

Another factor to take into account is revenge. The Traveler did not kill Signoria, but we are responsible for her death. That has to come into play at some point. Pierro and Arlecchino were the most visibly upset at Signoria's death. Arlecchino lashes out at her fellow harbingers for their comments and behavior. A year out, you have to question if her temper has cooled or will she use her time in Fontaine as a way to exact revenge.

Pierro's response to Signoria's death is to give her the equivalent to a state funeral. Whether that came from him personally or it was at the directive of the Tsarista, it's hard to say. I tend to believe it does come from him, because at least in my mind, Signoria and Pierro were friends. It's clear Pierro has a familiarity with the longer serving harbingers. How close Signoria and Pierro were, is up for debate. But in this situation, you don't passionately promise someone you don't like that you'll lay her to rest in the entirety of the old world. At the very least Signoria was a link to the truth. She lived through the Cataclysm. She would remember the actual events and not the sanitized version of what we get in the game. Her death is made greater because of that. Would it be enough for Pierro to take revenge? It's hard to say. With the doors to Khaenri'ah resting in the nation of Knowledge and Wisdom though, it makes you wonder.

There are also Pierro's personal connections to the traveler and their sibling to consider. The fact that we're four nations in and we haven't come across him yet is a tad odd. You would think he would get curious, but then again, he also knows that at some point we'll turn up. From his perspective, I'm sure he can wait. It is a little odd if he is masquerading as Nevillette for him to just leave to find the traveler with no explanation. In my mind though, it doesn't make sense to tell us that he lived with our sibling and not come across him sooner rather than later. The explanation to the contrary is that Pierro lied to Wanderer about his identity. The only way to fact check him would be to check Irminsul. Since Wanderer doesn't out him on the lie, I have to give Pierro the benefit of the doubt.

With only three official nations left, every step counts. I doubt the Fatui, more specifically Pierro would leave much to chance, if there is anything to chance. Given that the plans for Inazuma were laid several hundred years in the past, I wouldn't be surprised if the other nations weren't the same. For all we know, Pierro, disguised as Neuvillette could have conspired with the current Hydro Archon to murder the old one and seize power. That would give Pierro direct access to the gnosis when he needed it. The Fatui's entire plan has hinged on Morax's assent to surrender his gnosis. There's no point in taking any of the gnosises before that happened and I'm sure it would be all too easy for Pierro to get it now.

Since we know the Fatui run political distractions as a way of thwarting the Traveler, Arlecchino's purpose could be just that. She's responsible for luring the traveler in and keeping the do gooders busy while Pierro secures the gnosis behind the scenes. Much in the same vein as Childe, Arlecchino could be participating in her own downfall. I doubt she would know or realize that Neuvillette is Pierro is disguise. That makes her the perfect scape goat for when the traveler foils the Fauti's plans in Fontaine. Pierro can easily two birds one stone two considerable problems. He can get rid of someone he doesn't trust and he can get the Hydro gnosis. But that's only IF he and Neuvillette are the same person.

If they are not, then Pierro and Neuvillette are from the same species, or even family. There are too many similarities between them to dismiss the possibility. We have enough examples of other Khaenri'ans to know that Pierro and Neuvillette (not confirmed as Khaenri'an) are not like the others. I won't get into the other rumor surrounding Neuvillette, but it does provide a pretty substantial reason for a few other things that have been mentioned in the game, especially regarding Pierro. Wanderer mentions that Pierro was a Khaenri'an Mage prior to the cataclysm. One of the largest looming questions surrounding the Fatui is why would the Tsaritsa make a deal with a mage to overthrow Celestia? How does that same mage control some of the most powerful people in the world for close to 500 years? He’s either got a ton of people skills, an expert black mailer, or possesses a power that hasn’t been seen since the days of the primordial one.

Only time will tell.

So 12th of August - which is today - Mina writes another little entry about how Lucy, after being fed on by Dracula yesterday (the 11th), is feeling even better um and she's so so happy but throughout the night she wakes up again and tries to go out sleepwalking but even after that she's even more rejuvenated and I-

We know that Dracula isn’t feeding from her right now (except for the first time) but she is at least connected to him in some way like there is some compulsion here that is-

it- it's existing and I have no words for how to describe compulsion. It's kinda like this word that I just picked up somewhere and it wooorks?

And I specifically speak about “compulsion” because of Jonathan. So Jonathan starts going really fucking crazy when he’s with Dracula right? (very paranoid but also maybe affected by his desperation and blah you’ve heard this before) and it just so happens that when Mina writes her uh little entry on the 12th of August that’s also the day that Sister Agatha writes a letter (Sister Agatha is uh obviously a nurse/nun at a hospital) so Jonathan traveled a long fucking time and he finally got there and they started to take care of him and Sister Agatha is writing a letter to Mina and she writes it on the 12th of August and the reason she writes the letter is...

The reason she writes the letter on this date even though Jonathan has been staying at the hospital for a bit is that for some reason he was under a brain fever and a brain fever could be multiple things. Honestly I think its their way of describing someone going through an overextended period of hallucinations or a trauma response? But "Brain Fever " is also when the brain becomes inflamed and one of the symptoms is a fever and you KNOW this because I also talked about my Hannibal theory with you on the first season, right, remember, pls. (with desperation) [1]

Yeah okay “he has had some fearful shock - so says our doctor - and in his delirium his ravings have been dreadful; of wolves and poison and blood; of ghosts and demons; and I fear to say of what” um so it's- It's very interesting to me that now, on the 12th of August, Lucy is feeling better, (like the whole reason Lucy does her sleepwalking thing is because she finally got engaged but now she's feeling very nervous and she's sleepwalking again like she did BEFORE Dracula showed up, it had just been a bit)

And its- its so unfortunate because Lucy is basically just doing what she normally does and she goes to this bench that just so happens to be near the grave where Dracula is hiding in and the only reason he can even do that is because its the grave of someone who committed suicide. It was very much like “why not” which is like, damn, Dracula really just be ruining lives for no reason because it's not like he was even initially attracted to Lucy because she was beautiful and she's kind and she's like, this pure soul. No. Literally my dude was just “oh shit there's someone above me………feeding time” Yknow? That's just like- I hate him so much!

So that's the thing and one could argue that he was technically already there when Lucy and Mina were also there when the dog thing happened um, he might have “seen” her or had some compulsion, some power over Lucy just from that like he picked up on something about her, her sensitivity if you want to argue that and had some compulsion over her to gooo...? Towards him at that point in time but I choose to not believe that I choose to believe this was very much Dracula just-

Dracula was just like “you know what? Jonathan, bye. New favorite blood bag Lucy, hello and thank you” and again I find it really interesting that when that happened not only did Mina wake up (I like to think that,

I like to think that um, well when Mina found Lucy um Dracula was leaning over her maybe he was still drinking or had just finished so Mina rushes forward she's like “yo wtf is going on?” right she maybe thinks, she imagined or well doesn’t think, but like it was dark and no one else was there to confirm what she saw and Lucy was maybe a little out of it um) So I like to think that when Dracula drank from Lucy that's when Mina woke up and in her little panic of looking everywhere for Lucy and realizing she went outside was, however long it took Dracula to feed from Lucy. So whenever that happened Jonathan started to wake the fuck up from his little “weeks long brain fever” um like either when Lucy is being fed on he starts to come through because of the compulsion but when Dracula makes eye contact with Mina that's when he wakes up like ooohh-

Oh okay imagine if there was a Dracula show that was hella book accurate and they ended an episode with that cliffhanger? With Dracula getting close to Lucy’s neck, Mina jolts up and realizes Lucy is gone, goes out looking for her, finds her and Dracula, makes eye contact, boom it shifts to Jonathan opening his eyes Bella Swan from twilight style idk that would be so cool um but make me giggle. Um.

So talking about this is making me realize how much of a huge piece of shit Dracula is, for no fucking reason like. He had NO REASON, he had literally just drank not only from Jonathan (my headcanon my headcanon its not explicitly stated please people disagree people disagree it's my headcanon nnnnnn I'm not saying it happened or not I just like to believe um) which essentially rejuvenated his lizard ass to Tall, Dark, and Creepy (on top of maybe drinking from a baby) and then PROCEEDED to drink nearly a whole crew that was essentially free range for-

For no fucking reason. And then on top of that uh. So there's this other old guy. His name is Mr. Swales idk how to pronounce it even though I've heard the recording. ANYWAYS. He’s friends with Mina and Lucy and talks to them about the cemetery and headstones that stuff I was telling you about right? The other 6 minute analysis I did. Um.

He talks about how he is so old and isn’t afraid of dying and jokes about it a lot which honestly very fair my dude very fair. And um it turns out that when he talks about this he talks about- about death being in the air and that’s bringing the Demeter to shore, almost like he can sense Dracula as the omen of death that he is. And then there's an entry from when Mina and Lucy go to see the Captain’s funeral, she also mentions that Mr. Swales was found with his neck snapped on the bench and his face in such a horror that it made men squirm which is like. Fucked up as hell cause Dracula didn’t even drink from him -I think- so he killed him for no fucking reason. One could argue that he saw Dracula and that's why but motherfucker can turn into fogs-

My hyper fixation on the show is returning and I haven’t read the book of bilk yet just saw some theories and whatever people posted about it.

I have been thinking about time lord of (self insert and maybe if I feel like it I will turn it into a an x reader) (also exactly like doctor who) in the show in general, then meeting bill when on the quest of looking for their sibling and the might have accompanied ford when he was in the portal.

It’s still all messy but the things I’m certain about is :

Oc doesn’t have a specific gender they are like the doctor they can be anybody and everybody.

They do have a machine similar to the TARDIS but they can’t use it since it is easily traceable and they are on the run, they use a watch it is easy to travel with and it’s a bit harder to trace.

The oc and their sibling are both time lords and there are little left of their kind (in which the ones whom managed to escape) are hiding .

Their status as time lords is higher blendin blandin and even time baby as there is even a higher power controlling the timelines,worlds,universes and even plantes which time baby and his subordinates may not know of (in op oc’s we trust).

The oc and their sibling come from a conquered planet in which they are in an academia where they are taught not to form any attachment,feeling for another, keeping the timeline going (as everything that has happened have been accounted for) and ending timelines when necessary.

I have to speak about “regeneration” so the point seven will make sense, as the last time I watched doctor who when I was little and the last doctor I remember seeing was Matt smith (I haven’t watched the Peter Capaldi and I’m planning to get back to it after I finish my last year of high school) but I remember the “regenerations” (kinda) it happened after the finish what they came for or it might be forced upon them in a life or death situation (or how I saw in theories about the David Tennant fiasco), where does this come into play about the oc and their sibling? That brings up my next point.

The sibling was involved in harsh training since they were little so at point they have come close to death and their first regeneration was forced upon them, and one way to know if they had a sibling or not (IN MY LORE NOT DOCTOR WHO) is that they regenerate as well, so once the sibling regenerated the oc as well regenerated.

Now once they found out they were siblings (the higher ups at the academia) one of them had to be killed off cause of this they will form attachments and that is strictly prohibited the plan was to force them to kill each other (but obviously that was stopped and I’m not going to elaborate any further unless you all are interested in this?).

Now onto my favourite bit, the regeneration it has quite odd things that I liked to add to it and these are some of them :

They will be in opposite gender when the regenerate for example if the oc is a girl then their sibling is a boy and the opposite is true (right now the names I thought for them was Edgar and Lucy and they will switch it when the switch genders)

They have 2 hearts! It’s actually their source of power also the regeneration begins from them, the first heart is their usual normal pumping one while the other is the source for regeneration, allow me to elaborate; once they enter the first stage (pre-regeneration state) they will feel some type of warmth that spreads to their whole body until it becomes suffocating and they fall panting heavily, then golden viens will start to show on their skin, then the second stage begins (regeneration) for any passer by it will seem as if the time lord will glow (AGAIN MY LORE NOT THE ACTUAL DOCTOR WHO BUT IT IS INSPIRED BY IT) and they will appear into their new form, however for the time lord will feel every organ changing, ever cell regenerating, from eyes to mouth to lungs to even the bones. They will feel everything. So it is quite painful for them during that stage.

Last but not least the last stage (post-regeneration) they will be out for at 15-27 days depending on how bad it was and what has caused the regeneration, during this period they will be quite vulnerable anyone could take advantage of their unconscious-self as well the golden veins will stay there until they are up from their “sleep” so to say.

This also could get changed after I read the book of bill and re-watch the show but the concept of the time-lord oc’s will stay.

I don’t like the idea of the zonai being before skyward sword theory.

To put it simply, WOULDN’T THEY KNOW??? IF THERE WAS WEIRD GOAT PEOPLE WITH THEM??? AND IF THEY DID, WOULDN’T SOME OF THEM LOOK LIKE THE ANCIENT HERO, BECAUSE APPARENTLY SOME THINK THEIR HOT???

Like I’m sorry, but like the cloud barrier only blocked them from the surface, and zonai recently got done to the surface and interacted with hylians… but hylians were from the sky too…

Like these people are elves with human morals, they would have explore the shit out of the sky and found the zonai. Also no mention of loftwings and we know for a fact that the forgotten temple is old as shit, even before skyward sword. And the zonai would have known about demise too?? If they did, they probably stay far, FAR, away from the surface as it’s FUCKING CURSED!

Like I’m sorry but, they hylians and zonai would know about eachother and actually interact. So then not knowing about hylians until they descended to the ground and intermingled with hylians (a lot of them dying from either monsters or surface illnesses) and Sonia and rauru being the only hylian Zonai couple and founders of hyrule!?!

I just can’t see it man. It makes more sense if they are a strictly a fallen timeline specific species with a split evolution of the sheikah. Also to any one point out the architecture of places, each one of them is very specific in its details and only share fucking swirls because of it being a easy thing to carve, especially blocky ones for the Zonai swirls. Like cultures can share shit and not have intermingled with eachother.

Also the severe lack of mentions of hylia is very evident in these games, like only one that I remember mentioning her name is the statues of hylia and sheikah monks from BOTW, hinting the fact that the zonai DIDNT KNOW ABOUT HYLIA… they would have know if they were in the sky with pre surface hylians, cause hylians have fought demons for their goddess, and some of there devotions to hylia were so evident that the goddess had a chosen hero whom was a hylian.

The secret stones are another thing as well, if zonai knew about hylians, wouldn’t they know that they get into wars for powerful objects, like oh I don’t know the fucking triforce… that isn’t even mentioned at all in these games. Like it shows up as symbol, but never mentioned the wars it has caused, cause that is a very PROMINENT thing in hylian history.

Like everyone on the surface forgot about hylia, the triforce, the first hero and his fight against demise… and the zonai don’t know anything about the surface before coming down hints at them being the latest race of beings to exists in hyrule.

Like the these games are huge at making reference to its lore, while it’s not always comprehensive or easy to explain, but the one thing is clear for these games is that time is basically Fucking construction and reality is nothing when link is alive. Hero time of ocarina of time, obviously on point, twlight princess link time traveling through the decade form of the temple of time to a much more intact temple of time. THE AMOUT OF BULL SHIT THE PINK HAIRED LINK WENT THROUGH.

Like time is fucky wucky when link is near, but when he isn’t, it’s consistent. Hylian civil war, mentioned on both ocarina of time (being the reason why link was raised as a kokiri instead of a hylian) and twilight princess, with that horrific cutscene with the dark links. It wouldn’t makes sense for it to be mentioned in both the fallen and adult timeline, because one has a missing hero and the other has fallen.

Another thing that would disprove this theory is that the wind tribe lives in the clouds… they would have met the zonai… and probably have them curious enough to come down sooner…

...this ask has a slightly threatening aura but like, if you give me a chance to infodump, im going to.

tbh, i wouldnt say im "into ocean ships". i go feral for ocean liners, correct, but like 98% of cruise ships ive come across are fucking awful. plus ro-ro ferries can also go fuck themselves. and im also not really into like battleships apart from a few specific cases, e.g. the hms captain (the last one to be given that name) because boy howdy was that ship terribly designed.

but like most ship aficionados, im am really into great lake ships. i mean, the great lakes themselves are like so fucking cool and honestly if i had to go to america, id like to see them. because of how unique the geography of the great lakes are (essentially inland seas with waves cresting much closer to one another), you get some really interesting ships coming out of it.

theres the more obvious ships that i find interesting like the fitz (edmund fitzgerald), the daniel j morrell and the bannockburn, but im not gonna retread common ground here; theres plenty of videos on youtube about them.

what i wanna talk about is whaleback ships:

they were dreamt up by captain alexander mcdougall and are a much obscure ship design for the lakes. only 44 were ever between 1887 and 1898.

see at that time, the size of a ship was limited mostly by a ships ability to get through lochs and rivers (and obviously materials + hull design theory) rather than power, which led to the common practice of one self-powering vessel towing several barges. and that became a problem when the seas were rough and the winds were howling. so mcdougall wanted to create a design that could easily be towed, which led to the whaleback design.

the hull of a whaleback is continuously curved, and the bow and stern were nearly identical. things like cabins were in the superstructure above the ship. when fully loaded, the hull would lay low in the water, giving it the eponymous whaleback look. it also looks a bit like a cigar.

while they were easy to tow and saw some success as self-powered vessels themselves, like the unfortunately named christopher colombus which was the only passenger whaleback vessel nicknamed "the queen of the lakes", they were flaws in the design. the curved hull made it harder to create watertight hatches, or hatches that would remain watertight as many warped. the working conditions were often poor as within the hull, its essentially a submarine. they were also quite vulnerable to and in collisions; they laid almost flush with the water so they were kinda hard to see.

i just find them very interesting and the design is actually kinda beautiful to me? idk, its just a bit of shipping history that doesnt get mentioned as much. the only remaining whaleback boat is the ss meteor which is now a museum ship.

also, as a certified yam-yam (a seemingly insane thing to call myself), i have to talk about canal boats/narrowboats.

see where im from in the uk has more canals than venice and thats a fact any comedian will turn into a joke if they do a show hear. i know theres at least one other semi-popular posts about narrowboats, but if you havent seen it, you might have seen them in peaky blinders because they were used to transport illegal goods amongst other things.

the canals (or cuts as they were also called) where im from were used a lot during britains industrial revolution in terms of transporting goods. and although canal travel declined due to several factors like better roads for cars, increase in rail travel (seriously, you can get a train to anywhere round here) and issues with wages, its still a pretty significant part of our local culture and history.

like in primary school, we were taught how locks work and i remember learning about all of the different kinds of narrowboats. im not gonna get into all of them because this post is long enough as is, but its safe to say, i have a personal attachment to narrowboats.

in the 60s, there was a restoration of canals and narrowboat tourism became popular. you can also live on a canal boat which one of my friends did for a while growing up.

plus we have a lot of very pretty architecture thanks to canals in the staffordshire ring/black country rings (its called the black country due to how much soot would emanate from factories as well as thick coal seam that came from the mines during the victorian era). the staffordshire ring is like a canal of a lazy river, i guess; it loops all the way round the area and surrounding areas.

i particularly enjoy this little area of the dudley canal part of the ring:

this part of our history also left a bunch of tunnels because canals went through things, and theres a lot of these tunnels. pretty sure theres a lot around the country in general? dont quote me on that; i know my local cut history better than the national canal history.

but anyway, you can walk through a lot of these tunnels such as the netherton tunnel:

Little Star is the celestial primate of connections and curiosity.

They have haunted this story from the very beginning. Every time I wrote about the stars, Little Star was in mind. Little Star can see the connections between people and can form a connection with anyone. They are exuberant, kind, adventurous, loving, playful, and powerful, and they studied cosmic magic.

(Cosmic magic is replacing Spatial magic in the magic system. This changes nothing functionally, I'm just changing the name. Cosmic sounds cooler.)

don’t think i didn’t notice Wukong’s unfinished thought about how the Celestial court was aware and took note of Macky’s birth despite it being not well known, meaning that Wukong’s actions in keeping MK’s origins unknown are most likely futile and in vain

because i haven’t forgotten 👀 and i have been quietly taking note of this “little star” and how Wukong believed he failed them and that it involved Heaven (maybe) making Wukong more cautious about the Celestial Primate status for MK (aka, “little sky” which is the translation of MK’s Chinese name and is coincidentally similar to little star 👀) but with Heaven already being, assumedly, very aware of MK’s origins, Wukong’s caution would be all for naught

haha, good detective work! Since Wukong heard Macaque's Celestial Record, he now knows what Heaven does and doesn't know about them. The fact that they know about the anomalies is very concerning to Wukong because of MK, yes, but specifically, he doesn't want Heaven to know about MK because of what happened to Little Star.

Throughout Constellations, Wukong often remarks about how Heaven views him, and that applies to all celestial primates. These monkey demons aren't outright vile and beyond redemption, but Heaven is cautious around them/regards them carefully just based on what Wukong did. They know that each one of them is powerful on their own, but together? They're unstoppable.

That's why Wukong and Macaque were tortured separately. They're very cautious when it comes to handling them.

So of course, after Wukong finally figured out that MK was a celestial primate, he does his best to keep MK away from Heaven. In chapter 1, I originally had MK's clones go with Wukong to Heaven to turn in the furnace. I wrote that before the details of this AU were fully planned out, so I went back and edited out that only Wukong's clones went to Heaven.

Wukong essentially wants to keep MK out of Heaven's sights and mind. That's why he never corrects the Jade Emperor when he says that Wukong defeated the Lady Bone Demon; Wukong knows MK was the one to defeat her, but he's letting the Emperor believe it was him to protect MK.

Macaque shares in this protection for obvious reasons, but it's also because of what happened to Little Star. Both Wukong and Macaque are fiercely protective of MK because they don't want history to repeat itself.

As for what happened to Little Star...

Wukong often meditates and goes searching through the cosmos for...something. He says he hasn't found it for over 2,000 years.

The central theme of the fic is the connections we share with each other and how they look like constellations in the sky in how everyone is connected.

Little Star was born from embers, and when they were born, all the stars in the sky burned brighter for a single moment.

Every celestial primate is connected to a celestial body or spacial...object of some kind. Wukong and the sun, Macaque and the moon, MK and the earth and all 6 realms.

Every celestial primate is connected to a season: Wukong and autumn, Macaque and winter, MK and spring, Little Star and summer.

Wukong and Macaque often speak about teaching Little Star things, but Macaque told Wukong at the inn that they never get things right. He tells Wukong when they're getting the lantern piece the hiker has that it's not easy teaching someone. Wukong thinks to himself on the roof of Pigsy's restaurant that if Macaque weren't so full of himself, he wouldn't have to search every time he meditates.
