okay so after Tales of the Jedi we're getting Tales of the Empire and on a complete non-squitur, in TBB episode 3x10 Hemlock says the other operatives aren't ready yet, which means there're more clone assassins in the making my bet is still on clone x (or the current assassin clone or whatever you call him) being Tech, because him being Cody just wouldn't be the same, it wouldn't be as emotionally devastating for Omega and the Bad Batch as the clone being Tech would be and I saw a theory that maybe Cody is one of the other operatives whose brainwashing just isn't done yet instead so hear me out, hear me out after Tales of the Empire, we could get Tales of the Clones, right? and in Tales of the Clones we could get the story of what happened to Cody, that maybe Cody tried to escape the Empire in TBB 2x03, but he was caught and sent to Hemlock's sick assassin clone program, but the badass he is he's resisting the brainwashing and he maybe escapes??? hello i am once again thinking about clones and the impossibly complicated feelings they (Cody) must have around Jango Fett. that's Prime. and most of it's going under a cut because there are a grand total of two people in this world who give a shit about any of this but my brain would not let me rest until it existed on the screen

that's the guy. the one so perfectly forged for war and your life purpose that they made a million just like him. he is literally everything you could ever want, hope, dream, aspire, strive, bleed bleed bleed to be.

he's not your dad because dads are something that people have, and you're not really a person. you were born from a tube alongside hundreds of the same face but sometimes you look up through the windows and you see your face reflected back, older. kinder? distant. too distant to matter.

he's not your dad and you aren't a person, but you could have been. you know you could have been because little Boba Fett is a person. he has a name, first and last. he has a dad. he looks just like you but he is better. worthier. loved.

firmly in headcanon territory here but maybe Prime isn't just a distant figure for you. maybe he's the first person who you told your name to. maybe he taught you how to throw a punch. maybe he beat you bloody and raw and you silently thanked him for it because every time you fell you rose more perfect, more whole, more like him. maybe there were moments when you thought that maybe you were a person because he looked at you with a kind of sadness that can only come when someone loses someone they love.

and yet.

one day Prime leaves. you go back to training, to molding your hand to the shape of a blaster's grip and your body to the shape of a GAR-issued cot. you fight and learn and bleed and salute and march and train and you are everything the Kaminoans promised and more. Prime might have forged himself in the heat of battle time and again, but you have improved on the old formula. you cannot surpass Prime (he is a person, and you are not) but you know your hands are faster and your heart beats stronger.

and then comes the red dust of a distant campaign. maybe you weren't there. maybe you were on the other side of the planet or stuck behind rain-blasted walls parsecs away. but whether or not you saw doesn't change the truth (you need to be a person to be a witness) that Prime chose the other side. you, for whom loyalty to the Republic comes before all else, learn that the man whose face you wear did not choose to stand beside you.

between one breath and the next that will never come, a Jedi with a sword straight from legends (from flash modules) separates Jango Fett's head from his shoulders and Prime dies. ignoble.

a week later you salute your Jedi. crisp. clean. perfect. loyalty in your blood and the thump of a thousand synchronous footsteps rattling your sternum.

what is the legend of Prime? what does it mean that you never say his name? at night, if you dream, do you dream of the buzz of plasma over your skin? or the impact of a blaster, unerringly aimed at your own weathered face?

I actually like Seth's outfits but also I can totally see how they don't work for you. He's also kinda wasteful with 'em. He said in an interview that he basically just sends most of his, as you said, "jerkoff regalia" off to the archives almost immediately after he wears them.

i see a lot of people enjoy his outfits a lot, and i certainly never want to rain on someone else's parade. especially about something like fashion and wrestling preferences which comes down to individual perspective and tastes

there have been plenty of pieces and even full outfits of his that i do think look good and are interesting. it honestly comes down more to the way he wears his clothes that i personally don't like

some of my thoughts on seth rollins' fashion under the cut

there are 2 levels to my distaste for seth's use of fashion: the most obvious one is that it usually doesn't align with my personal preferences. but the reason it really chaps my ass so much - and the reason that i do post my hater thoughts while there are plenty of others that i keep to myself - is because something feels ungenuine about it all

wearing an outfit once and essentially sending it to a museum immediately seems very odd to me, and honestly reinforces the vibe i get that seth is wearing a costume rather than dressing like seth rollins

i didn't notice this until i saw it on youtube, but it was pointed out that his look from monday was very much him dressing up like 2 different popular wrestlers - brimmed hat and leather jacket like the undertaker and black turtleneck sweater with a silver chain like that one picture of the rock

and it looks like these clothes cost a lot of money and take a lot of time and effort, but i don't get the feeling that he cares about the outfits he wears in the same way that many of his peers do, and likely not as much as the people who make the outfits do

i don't know how the archive works, but knowing what i know about this company and the industry i would assume that these outfits are truly getting hung up and put away where people will not wear them and will likely rarely see them. i am a huge believer in preservation, and i am happy to know that these article of clothing are going to have a good chance of surviving for future generations to enjoy and learn about what fashion and culture and wrestling was like in 2020s america. i am truly surprised to hear that he sends most of them directly there rather than reusing them for himself or giving them a new purpose elsewhere. i hope that this isn't a common practice

ok so the thing about tbb is that it is almost something i could really like except there's like a million things holding it back. the introduction in tcw where they established that they hate 'regs' because they were looked down on and then never did anything with that, which is crazy because clones in the sw universe are very explicitly not in any position of privilege. they show them getting idk. bullied? on kamino? but the most we get about solidarity between the bad batch and the other clones is the mayday episode. frustrating!!!! the way that the clones features in general in animation are whitewashed is frustrating enough but then they bring in a group of 'elite' clones who are also ostracized and then make two of them just look like white guys and another (because he died and was re-animated) just completely pale. and are we dealing with the fact that echo used to be a 'reg' but due to his death doesn't feel like he fits in anymore are we talking about that. no ok. also we are in the final season and omega and echo are like the only ones that want to rescue the clones that are being experimented on.

also the way the plot has been going is driving me bonkerssss okay so first of all did anybody actually get some sort of clarity about how the chips worked from what they did because i sure didn't!! can we get some consistency!!! crosshair's stint being an imperial also doesn't feel like it's really been explained. ok you gave your loyalty to the wrong people why did you do that in the first place when every other bb member did not. i guess there had to be some interpersonal conflict before they could just face up to the bigger one (and there's only so much they can do there due to established canon) but way too many of crosshair's actions in the early seasons feels inexcusable!! and at the same time i loved the episode with mayday but at what costttt like we've already seen him get orders to kill civilians and go okay we're doing this and when the people he's in charge of don't want to he does it anyways. maybe it has been too long since i watched it but there's too many pieces that don't feel like they mesh into a full 'character redemption'. and i like crosshair like half the time which is why it's so frustrating.

speaking of plot threads. there are two episodes left. where is cody? i know i'm a bit biased because he is one of my favorite characters but there was sooo much in the solitary clone episode that felt like it was hinting at 'cody is testing the waters to see if crosshair will defect with him' and then he doesn't get the response he was hoping for so he leaves by himself. 'it appears he's gone awol' ok cool will we ever see him again? is there a larger role he's fit into? it feels like the episode with rex and his clones would have been a good opportunity to see him again (maybe slightly messy so just like a mention? at least? considering i'm convinced crosshair is the only one like in the universe who knows he's defected?). one episode and that's it no mention again what are we doing here. especially with rampart back (who i have a side beef with - yeah they all hate him and are using him but part of me feels like they're trying to do a bit of a kallus with him which i do not want because it is not earned storytelling wise. if he dies whatever if he betrays them i'll be annoyed) who was also there telling crosshair that cody left like......hi.

maybe this is just my frustration with how much recent star wars is doing to shore up the 'somehow palpatine has returned' plotline but there are other stories i wish the bad batch was telling and i am just not getting that. and maybe i'll be happier if it turns out that they announce another clone project but as it stands it feels like they're sort of wrapping up anything they would do with them? which is making me crazy because there's sooo much untapped potential that not even the clone wars touched because half the time it was going 'this is the anakin and ahsoka show and the clones die a lot'. (which is a very uncharitable take of a show i enjoy a lot i just have had enough of anakin forever and ahsoka is a character i love but would love more if every time we got a chance to dive into a specific culture it ended up just being her story....which is my way to say that i wish totj was about The Jedi and not Dooku and Ahsoka. SORRY)

what was i saying. um. anyways i really want to like them and a lot of the time i do and maybe i am just being more of a hater because i have felt largely unfulfilled by this show in general but. oh i just remembered i can't believe everyone is so sad about tech dying because i don't know if they really earned that sadness for me. and i am a big fan of both characters remaining dead and characters coming back from the grave but i think people are going to be disappointed when it turns out that tech did actually die and CX-2 is a clone with all of the bad batch traits mixed together (just my theory which is also probably wrong). anyways i think the most emotionally impacted i was was during the solitary clone AND at the end of the episode with mayday.

also the underutilization of characters is like a consistent problem echo will disappear with a throwaway line for multiple episodes at a time and will show back up to deliver a ship and be with them again and then separate. they have barely devoted any time to him. he has not gotten to change and grow. he has gotten to go on side missions with rex that we don't see to rescue his brothers which is something that i think would be important to show because echo's introduction to the bad batch is being saved from the enemy by his brothers!!! but he is there so that they can use his skills and then he leaves. i really hope they've been taking him off screen because they plan on doing something else with him otherwise it just feels. lazy.

none of this is cohesive. sorry. i am maybe also representing some of these things more extremely than i actually feel about them. i am not the only opinion in the universe. i am just deeply unsatisfied by this final season and it is getting dire

Just getting home from work, you got out of your Range Rover. Collecting your handbag, laptop and some papers from the back seat.

You headed into yours and Rafe’s estate. Walking through the front door. You already knew your three sons had friends over. Your eldest, Cody had asked you over text. You slip your heels off by the door and walk through the large foyer and over to the spacious living room. You smiled as you saw your boys Cody (17), Morgan (16) and Ollie (14 1/2). You spoke “hey boys, you all having fun?” They all said their “heys” and “yeah, thanks”.

You subtly noticed the way their friends eyed you up. Teenage boys never really cared if you saw them checking woman out. Well, these lot didn’t. You looked over to the attached large kitchen, smiling as you see Rafe.

You walked over, putting your things onto the counter. Rafe was leaning forward. His elbows on the counter as he watched the tv from the kitchen as your sons and their friends had soccer on. You walked over to Rafe. Smiling as you put your hand on his back. “Hey, love, you ok?” He turns his head to look at you. His famous grin plastered on his face. “Yeah, all good, how’s work?” He pulls you by the waist. Giving you a soft but firm kiss, showing you how much he missed you since you left this morning. "Just keeping holding it up," Codi whispers to Rosa, who looks like she's about to lower the tinsel that she's holding up.

"We're decorating the tree."

"No, I get that. But why are we holding it up in a line?"

On her other side, Leah huffs. "Because Lia's raising a kid who doesn't like mess and gets freaked out by Christmas trees. Ow! Lia!"

Lia's elbow, none too kindly, digs a bit further into Leah's ribs.

"Don't make fun of her!" She snaps, imaginary hackles raised in annoyance at Leah's dismissal before turning to Rosa to explain, much more kindly. "Guppy...She gets a bit overwhelmed about this kind of stuff and these cretins like to go overboard until the tree's a big mess. So, Guppy gets to pick the theme and then we all decorate. Leah's exaggerating."

"I'm just saying! Maybe exposure therapy will be good for her! I love her, Lia, I do. You know that. But you have to admit, this-"

Lia whips her beads at Leah in annoyance.

Wound around what looks to be an old piece of cardboard, is a long string of silver beads.

"I did," Lia says," Because our tree is too little for them this year. I thought we could use them on the Arsenal tree."

You nod, head bobbing up and down happily before you also take Mario's hand, dragging her into your little group of chosen people without even looking at the bauble in her hands.

"Nah!" Leah complains," This is so unfair! Why can't I be chosen?"

Decorating the tree is a team effort because while you may have been the one to make your selection, you're much too small to decorate it all by yourself and Rosa's found herself with you on her shoulders as you strain to put a candy cane onto the tree.

"Careful," Lia warns her," Keep straight or she'll fall."

"Rosa's doing fine," Steph says," And it's not like Guppy is going to start throwing herself around. She's very responsible."

"I am, Mummy!" You say," Very responsible! I helped Mrs Gina find the missing gluestick lid yesterday!"

So, Lia ends up worrying from a distance and insists on being the one to lift you up so you can put the star on the tree before letting you down and leading you from the room without any more preamble.

"What's happening now?" Rosa whispers as it looks like everyone starts sitting down on the floor in a little circle that she has no option but to join.

"Lia's been doing this since Guppy was born," Caitlin explains," We're getting presents now. It was pretty cute the first time, little gifts in baby y/n's hands. It was her handprint the year she was born and then it was like little keychains? She's old enough to give them out by herself now."

The present Rosa gets is kind of soft and squishy and it doesn't rattle or anything when she holds it up to her ear and shakes.

"No opening until Christmas!" You say once everything's been given out and everyone's attention is on you," Because that ruins the surprise! You can only open them on Christmas!"

The little Arsenal teddy bear you got her sits on Rosa's desk for the rest of the season.

I have been drifting back to STAR WARS fandom lately and I have been greatly rewarded for it, especially in the gen fic veins, because there have been some banger fics authors have been putting out! And the thing that really gets me in the fannish heart is that there's more and more fics about the Jedi, both for exploring the characters and the culture. I have been able to find multiple fics that have been kind to Mace Windu! I have been able to find multiple fics that explain what attachment actually is to the Jedi and to Star Wars! I have been able to find multiple fics that lift my spirit up or punch me in the feelings in exactly the right way, both for the usual disaster lineage faves, but also for the Jedi as a whole. I'm serious, that means the world to me in this fandom, and I desperately want to share that with you all. LET ME SHOVE FIC AT YOU THAT LOVES THESE CHARACTERS AND THIS WORLD AS MUCH AS I DO!!

Sorry this took so long!! I’ve been contemplating writing one shots, but I feel like I should get the head canons out first. If any of you have any ideas for one shots (x readers, char x char, nsfw), my request box is open! I’ll get around to them as soon as possible. :)

- 5’11! Sleeper build and scrawny, but extremely strong upper arms. He’s not as fast as Kate and Brian, but he makes up for it with how long he can run. He never gets tired and can chase victims for hours. Lots of freckles, too!

- White with mostly German heritage. He doesn’t know very much German, just baseline stuff he learned from his mom. (Connie grew up in Germany until she was 15.)

- Medium brown hair and dark brown eyes. He’s pretty pale, but being outside most of the time he does have a slight tan, lots of freckles too.

- His dad was extremely abusive and would beat him, his mom, and his sister, it was rare for him to not be drunk. Toby killed him only a few hours after his father beat his mom to the point she was unconscious. He’d rather his mom lose both of her children and her abusive husband than endure so much pain, he cared about her more than anything. He didn’t want to sit idly by as he loses his sister and mother.

- His fingers are TORN up. Bites and picks at his nails, cuticles, dry knuckles, all of it. His fingertips and palms are also super calloused.

- Hangs out with Jeff and Ben most of the time. He’s closer to Ben and thinks Jeff’s a douche, but he puts up with him since sometimes the three of them have fun.

- He can be a jerk, but if you’re able to break past his shell he’s super sweet. He’s still sarcastic and snarky, but not necessarily mean. VERY smug.

- Had Jeff do a tattoo of Lyra’s birthday on his shoulder. It turned out surprisingly good. He was originally going to do her death date, but he felt like it was better to honor the time she was alive.

- Halloween junkie. He has a massive sweet tooth and loves autumn, so it’s the perfect day ever in his eyes.

- This guy DESTROYS in poker and blackjack. The few times his dad would spend time with him they’d play together. Even though he hated him, it meant a lot to him when he was little. Has the teeny tiniest gambling addiction, makes a bunch of bets with other residents of the mansion and usually wins.

- MIDWESTERN EMO BOY!!!! I will die on this hill. Music taste, clothing, all of it.

- His tics are pretty rare now that he’s older, but when he’s anxious they get bad.

- Exclusively wears comfortable clothes. Not because he gets uncomfortable, he could (and does) sleep in jeans and not be bothered. When he was younger he would always be forced to wear slacks, dress shoes, button ups, and ties for church or family gatherings. He HATED it.

- Him, Tim, and Brian are usually put on missions together. They’re all pretty compatible, and it’s nice to talk to just some regular ass dudes. Sometimes all three of them will go to run down diner’s if they finished their mission early, it’s the most normality any of them have in their lives.

- He and Tim bicker a LOT, but he secretly find comfort in it. He sees Tim as a protective older brother, rather than someone who just hates him. With how his dad treated him growing up, he thought all arguing was yelling and being aggressive, but Tim’s is more disagreement or annoyance.

- Almost knows how to play the acoustic guitar. He’s a quick learner, but he doesn’t have a crazy strong desire to get better at it.

- Pretty much always wears a big bandaid over his cheek gash. He’s not necessarily insecure about it unless he has a crush on someone, but it’s hard to eat or drink when it’s just open.

- He’s actually not to bad at soccer! Sometimes when it’s nice out him and Cody find a ball and play.

- Anywho, I’m in love with him.

Cody Glass: Going on vibes alone -- I'd probably have to say (O'Connor). It'd just be funny. I think he'd do a good job, but he's just a funny guy I would love to watch dance.

Matt Nieto: I could see Kris Letang doing pretty well on that show for some reason. He seems like he'd be good.

Sidney Crosby: I'll go with Petey. He can move. He can sing, but he can move too.

P.O Joseph: Honestly, I would say (Tomasino). I feel like he can, I like his energy so far.

Jesse Puljujarvi: Hayes. He can do everything.

Kevin Hayes: I think Noel (Acciari). He was a big dancer when we were younger.

Noel Acciari: I'd say either Tanger or Hayesy, I think they could dance.

Alex Nedeljkovic: I feel like I've seen (Pettersson) dance. Cookie (Acciari), that guy is good at anything he does. He's not going to be the best, because not everybody is the best at everything, but he's good at a lot of things.

Joel Blomqvist: Karl. I think he's a pretty stylish man, I think dancing would suit him pretty well.

Michael Bunting: Myself. I haven't seen anyone else dance, but I would say myself. I would compete, for sure. Maybe reach the semis. I don't want to get too ahead of myself, but for sure.

Anthony Beauvillier: I would say Michael Bunting. I've seen him dance, he's got some moves.

Rickard Rakell: Bunting. Pretty recently, I saw some of his moves. (raises eyebrows) He's pretty good.

Marcus Pettersson: Raks. He's got good movement, he has control of his body. I feel like everybody else has good control too, but there's a lot of stiff people in here.

Bryan Rust: Petey. He seems to have the flexibility and coordination, I think he would do well.

Matt Grzelcyk: I think Tanger. He's athletic, a good-looking guy. I think he'd have some good dance moves. (Letang, overhearing from the next stall: "I what?!")

Kris Letang: (Turns to Grzelcyk) Grz, you got some moves? Sid has no chance. Petey can sing, I know Petey loves the karaoke. Maybe OC. Do you need the personality for it? He thinks he does.

Valtteri Puustinen: I say Jesse. Did you see the video where he's on the bike in his home? (Waves arms around, imitating the video) I think he's so good.

Sam Poulin: I'd say Tanger because he skates really well, he'd be a good fit for that.

Erik Karlsson: Rusty. He's got some pretty good moves, and he's pretty good at direction, he'd be easy to coach.

Owen Pickering: Rutger (McGroarty). He'd love something like that, he loves the attention.

Ryan Shea: Not Kevin (Hayes), not (Jack St. Ivany), not Petey. Honestly, I feel like Karl. I'd probably say (Anthony) Beauvillier too, he's pretty quick. I feel like he has good feet.

Tristan Jarry: I want to say Matt Nieto, I think he'd be good at it, just the vibe he puts out. He'd do really well with it.

Phil Tomasino: I'm gonna say (Pickering). He's got a lot of confidence, let's go with Picks.

Blake Lizotte: I feel like Karl could do well on that show. He just takes care of himself. He's dressed nice. He would fit the TV personalty. He's a good skater, so he probably could dance.

Ryan Graves: I bet Tanger would be OK. I've never seen him dance, but that'd be it.

Drew O'Connor: I think (St. Ivany). He's a Cali boy, he's got that kind of swagger about him. He might be a little stiff, but he's got that entertainment background. His brother's a movie star or something. I can't say Tanger. Like, Tanger would probably be decent at it but I don't want to say Tanger.

Jack St. Ivany: I'd go with (Kevin Hayes). He would do a good job with it, just being super lighthearted. I haven't seen his boots moving yet but I'm sure he can move his hips. (Me: Drew said you.) I think I could do all right. I would do better than OC, if we're being honest. I get the feet moving.
