Why does Gale and Wyll get these beyond basic starting outfits?

Poor Wyll doesn't even get a unique color for his warlock outfit. It's the exact same thing any warlock player has.

Meanwhile, Astarion, Karlach, Lae'zel, and Shadowheart have far more interesting gear.

These are just my Astarion clothing head cannons. I don't know that alignment matters.

I have Astarion in greens, yellows, and blues. He still wears black because it's undeniably his color. But he needs the other colors. I like to think when he started feeling a little more atonomy, he leaned into his elf heritage some. Maybe wearing softer tones.

He loves embroidery and fine fabric. He likes the way the sun reflects off of green.

He likes anything that flatters his jawline.

Astarion likes a skirt. He loves the drama of it. Cazador would only ever let him wear a suit coat with tails. Still, they twirled nicely.

I headcanon that undead illithids tend to maintain themselves better than human liches, as mindflayers are generally more vain. Auz takes extreme pride in his appearance, and takes any opportunity to show off his excellent taste. Man has an unrivaled skincare routine.

He easily has the most extravagant and luxurious wardrobe, only matched by Felix (who he regularly spoils with shopping trips.)
