It's honestly wild to me that ToA went through so much trouble to emphasize the fact that Will did not magically fix all of Nico's problems and was explicitly not Nico's only doctor.

Only for TSATS to have Will fix all of Nico's problems and have Nico be entirely reliant on him the entire book and literally helpless without him and LITERALLY have Nico's problems be magically removed.

there are all of 6 fics on ao3 that come up when you search the word “disabled” in the dead boy detectives fandom. I’m dealing with a fibromyalgia flare up rn so I’ve decided to come up with some (potential!) disability/condition/syndrome/etc. headcanons. enjoy!

(oh and just to note: I stayed away from conditions with obvious facial / appearance difference as no actors with facial / appearance difference were cast in the show and I was unsure if it would be appropriate. while I have experience with a lot of the following diagnoses, I do not claim to be an expert on any of them and do not intend for this to be used as a diagnostic tool. if you feel any of these are offensive/inappropriate, please message me and I’m happy to talk about it :) this is more just to encourage broader disability representation within the fandom!)

I kinda hate how Cirie's demise has exposed how comp dependent BB has become. Like yeah we been knew, but it’s like… you don't need to do all this song and dance on Survivor. But because a single person has the power to control the fate of everyone in the house week to week, it requires players to cover themselves on all sides, resulting in the post-16 meta of a huge onion alliance to maximize one's chances of not hitting the block any given week. There's no need for that in Survivor; the only person an immunity winner can impact is themselves, so the rest of the tribe isn't forced to play around the whims of a single person. And with the comps themselves becoming increasingly physical over the years, somehow this glorified summer camp is more dependent on physical fitness than the game that starves people on an island for a month and a half.

Ngl it could have been better if their first kiss happened in the underworld in this book. And like idk some ppl already commented on this but their first kiss happening after Nico learnt about Jason's death and Will coming and kissing him is kinda.... idk. We got all of these 'first kiss' moments with the hetero couples so it could have been nice if we got once for will and nico too. I also do not understand the whole 'outing' thing. First, it was already bad in HoH. but why does Nico have to out himself to the entire camp? It's giving 'you cannot be yourself and you cannot date if you do not openly come out' energy, but you literally can... do that. And Nico outing Will makes no sense. I can understand Nico slowly opening up to others like Piper but why say it to the whole camp? The only good thing that came out of this was Nico's coming out encouraging other kids at the camp, i guess but still... unnecessary.

Everything you've said here is something I agree with and have already brought up multiple times and I expect I will bring it up again in the future as well... I would also like to mention how upsetting it is that the "you have to come out to be fully yourself" thing is aimed at teens and young adults, as if that isn't the group often most at risk for harm in that situation as they have no way to support themself if need be... Also the outing Nico had in HoH was far worse because it was malicious, but being outed unintentionally by people who are well meaning can be just as painful (trust me I've been through both lol) and difficult to cope with. A lot of the queer narrative in the book also felt "preachy" for lack of a better term, so much of it was stated instead of shown and it was like expecting you to automatically agree with what was being said and what you were being told but the way things were worded was very much so from like a queer theory lingo origin? And while I can't think of anything that was said I necessarily disagree with it was a rough transition and I think it was unnecessary as I think they would probably have slightly different culture and customs and beliefs systems around queerness being from camp and having limited internet access... The only thing I can say I liked was Nico saying he never had a moment he realized he was gay but that he was always gay and that he did instead only have a moment where he realized it was something people may look down at him for and he would have to hide/fight for, that felt very accurate to previous character set ups we've seen with him (to me at least) but otherwise he had moments where he came across as more of a mouthpiece and even though like I said I didn't think anything that was put in the dialogue was disagreeable it's still odd and poor authorship imo... And I don't personally think Will kissing Nico at that point was wrong, a little weird or odd though? definitely... It would have been nice to have Will and Nico have a first kiss in text that was comparable to the heterosexual couples in previous books in the series but even if I can't have that I would have just very much not have liked Nico to be outed again and to have that be embraced as a good thing because it once again pushes the idea that the way to be a good ally is to nudge or shove your friend out of the closet when in all actuality your job as a good ally and a good friend (even more importantly) is to wait patiently for your friend to hatch on their own terms instead of trying to crack eggs too early

I think as well having them be together almost a year and then take their relationship in the direction they did was too much... If they wanted to go the route they did with their relationship they should have only been together a couple of months, and if they wanted to have them be together longer they needed to fortify their relationship more yet they tried to do both and of course the relationship fell flat (again though, I do like the idea that love is different for each couple and I like the acknowledgement that love is a constant choice- I just find the way they arrive at that conclusion sometimes to be a little unhealthy?)

US private media companies like AccuWeather and The Weather Channel take publicly available forecasting information provided by the National Weather Service, a publicly funded government service, and repackages it into their own forecast and disseminates the info.

In 2005, AccuWeather lobbied to attempt to ban The National Weather Service from sharing predictions with anyone besides commercial entities. In 2012 they successfully blocked the NWS from producing a free app for the public.

This allows there to be an inaccessible filter on free, timely, and accurate weather information and forces it to be distributed through for profit apps. Even free apps are bogged with ads and delayed alerts.

The G Word with Adam Conover covers this extensively and I highly recommend watching that episode or reading the transcript here [x] but I will sum it up, starting with an episode quote:

"Imagine a future where extreme weather warnings live behind a pay wall." In 2015, AccuWeather received warnings from the NWS that a tornado was heading towards Moore, OK, a city that has been decimated by F5/EF5 tornadoes twice. They only notified users that were paying for the app.

So what can you do about it?

Get your local forecast directly from The National Weather Service's official site weather.gov !

Follow your local meteorologists on social media, especially if you're in an active weather area.

If you're in tornado prone areas, follow storm chasers on social media and check the Convective Outlook during your tornado season.

Get a NOAA weather radio or tune to your local NWR station! They are the most reliable source of weather information in the event of a power outage and the coverage area is extensive. They cover all hazards including severe weather, wildfires, dust storms/haboobs, heat/cold warnings, and any other warnings the NWS would put out. Here is information specifically for Deaf/HOH accessibility.

Putting aside the fact they’re in hell and it’s unjustifiable even under the best of circumstances— this is borderline unforgivable. It may be the worst thing she’s done. I’ve always given Annabeth the benefit of the doubt, that she may not necessarily see how her actions affect others which is true for the most part.

However, hoo is the first time that we see her internal thoughts and the fact that she admits that she’s aware of how nervous he gets around her when it comes to a sensitive topic between them strips her of any defense of her ignorance. She purposely stresses him out. She “doesn’t mind making Percy uneasy”.

This is the first time, that we’re aware of, that she intends the harm she does. It’s hard to root for someone to change or see the error of their ways when they don’t consider them wrong. His nervousness is the desired outcome, it’s perfectly calculated. “[she] had to keep [her] boyfriend on his toes”.

What for? No clue. This is where speculation comes in and I’m not a fan of the conclusion and we don’t have another example to compare to so I’ll just leave it here because I don’t want to go as far as say she’s abusive but..yea she’s definitely within hearing range.

Annabeth being reduced to the mom friend and have all her struggles erased in favor of the girl boss branding is sexist as hell but her treatment of Percy within their romantic relationship has always been shit but some of you still think hoo percabeth is the blueprint or whatever

The fact that it took some of you till wottg to realize that Annabeth does in fact laugh and join in on jokes made at her boyfriends expense or imply he’s stupid from time to time is actually laughable. We’ve been saying this stuff as early as the judo flip but it has to be this up in your face for you to actually see that’s crazy.

Nico knew exactly what Percy went through in HoH, how Tartarus pushes you to be your absolute worst just to survive, and just how badly it would affect him. After all, Percy is one stubborn kid that would absolutely beat himself up over what he did to that goddess, having no compassion towards himself. And you cannot possibly convince me that if things had gone just a little bit differently, Nico wouldn't have had the opportunity and compassion of stopping the nonesense, and Percy would have actually listened, for once.

It was supposed to be done for day 2 of @percico-nicercy-events : Powerful Percy and Nico.

Forgot to say: The Shadow is actually a Jungian concept, and I though that out of everyone in PJO, Nico would easily be the one most in touch with that side of himself!

I, personally, think one of the grossest fandom misrepresentation is the fact that, collectively, I've seen people view Nico di Angelo as introverted.

He's not.

In fact, there's sufficient evidence that prove he's actually quite extraverted, and all three Greco-Roman series have plot points that are directly affected by Nico di Angelo actively seeking people out and becoming their friends (Nico & Hestia in TLO, Nico & Bob in HOH, and Nico & the Troglodytes in TON).

I think where this common misconception comes from is, most of the time, we see Nico from the point of view of someone else, and to most people in universe, he'd seen as being introverted, because of how much he isolates himself from other demigods (who we are getting this pov from), but if we look at him through an unbiased lens, it's pretty obvious that this is not a sign of introversion, but rather insecurity. Nico believes he's a burden and an outcast, and therefore doesn't wish to interact with most people because of that. He's afraid of being denied things as a son of Hades, and therefore doesn't interact much with demigods at the beginning.

But non-demigods? He'll yap all day long. He saw Hestia sitting alone and he approached without any fear or animosity because he saw someone lonely and marched over there so that she could have a friend. And he stayed her friend. Percy and Annabeth survived Tartarus because Nico actively sought out Bob after the events of The Sword of Hades and yapped to him about Percy and how good he is even if Percy never thought to befriend Bob until it was too late. The fact that Nico had befriended the troglodytes basically allowed to Apollo to become immortal again, and save Bob in TSATS.

Nico gets overwhelmed easily in groups, I believe, more has to do with the fact that he's neurodivergent and self-isolated for so long that he's forgotten how to act, and that itself is overstimulating. While I do agree Nico has some introverted traits (as does every extravert because it's not a one or the other thing) I think he is shown to be a lot more extraverted in the Riordanverse as a whole.

If you think Nico is far more introverted than extraverted, I'd love to hear your reasonings, but I think as a fandom people have strongly mischaracterized him, and want to talk about it.

Genshin event where the House of the Hearth kids come to visit Mondstadt to host a few shows (or investigate Dragonspine).

Except Klee is utterly MESMERISED by Lyney and Lynette's magic tricks and vows to become their apprentice. She dons the Veluriyam Mirage "Blossoming Starlight" skin, says she's both a mage AND magician, and sets off to find the twins.

Lyney and Lynette say that they are happy to teach her, but "Magicians can't just reveal all their secrets, so, as your first test (and challenge), why don't you surprise your teachers and dear Uncle Kaeya over there?"

Klee happily agrees and proceeds to make all the fish in Cider Lake *dissapear*. She's about to do the same to "the rest" of the Stormbearer Mountains before the others stop her.

They all eat fish that night. And the other days too.

Meanwhile, Freminet has befriended Albedo. They're mostly just quietly working on their own projects (a mechanical toy for Klee and a painting of the HoH siblings, respectively) in Albedo's workshop back in Dragonspine, though they also swap a few stories about their families, and a couple of tips on mechanics and arts (they're avoiding topics such as the Fatui and Khemia like the plague).

We also get Ragbros in the event! Since Kaeya is babysitting Klee and Diluc is stalking the HoH kids (we get an extra cutscene of Lyney and Diluc having an "amicable discussion" on a rqndom roof that boiled down to "hurt this city and I KILL you" "harm my siblings and I KILL you" "acceptable").

And if things suddenly go south on Dragonspine due to Abyssal influence and we have to brave the mountain to save Albedo and Freminet (they're FINE it's just a few rifthounds and lectors), well that's just par of the course.
