Helloo :D
Can you do hcs of what it would be like to be friends w benefits with ellie 🫣
a/n: i been waiting on this one ngl... fwb is like the best and worst trope to me... IM SORRY IM SO SICK IN THE HEAD I LOVE U TOXIC ELLIE... also this is modern!ellie.. if this isn't what u meant then im so sorry and i will rewrite it.. not smut but smutty? AI AUDIOS AT THE END
p,s. i lost this when i finished it cause tumblr is the worst and i had to rewrite it so this is a testament of how much i love you guys and i am so sorry if u hate it
Tumblr media
fwb!ellie headcanons
it kind of just happened one night after your friends abandoned you at a party and ellie offered to walk you home
you were always close friends with ellie but had gone to the party with a different friend group
...your straight friend group
and you were touch-starved
and ellie was TOUCH-STARVED
so when your tipsy ass asked ellie if she wanted to come inside with you she couldn't say yes fast enough
if she was being honest she was tipsy too
and high
and the alcohol coursing through both of your systems just amplified every touch
it would start gentle with soft kisses
but quickly pick up pace as you moan into her mouth
she wouldn't even make it to your bedroom, pushing you up against the wall and kneeing you
your moans only cause her to want to feel you, her asking for permission before ever touching you
her hands eagerly undo your belt before snapping the waistband of your panties with her fingers
she dips her fingers into your underwear, quickly rubbing circles into your clit
"shit... i'm barely touching you and you're already soaking wet."
"fuck, ellie."
"fuck, you feel so good... this all for me?"
but promptly after fucking you ellie feels sick to her stomach
it's like the reality that she has now fucked her very close friend, who she has always thought was pretty, hits her all at once
so she's quickly throwing her t-shirt on and frantically looking around your place for her flannel
"you're leaving?"
you break her out of her trance and as she looks at your swollen lips and worried eyes her brain is telling her: run, run, run
if it wasn't clear before ellie has no idea how to deal with her feelings
like at all
all she really knows how to feel is guilt & horniness
"yeah well, this wasn't anything serious... we're just friends, right?"
"right, yeah, i know that. it's just really late and cold. you can take the couch.
"right... thanks."
yes, ellie is disappointed that you weren't disappointed and yes, that's toxic
but you were disappointed and there is no way in hell you would be caught dead admitting that
ellie is gone by the morning
Tumblr media Tumblr media
it continues every night for about a month straight
one of you is either calling or texting and ending up in the other's bed night after night
ellie will occasionally spend the night (on your couch) and wake you up for your morning classes
or wake up early and buy you breakfast
she tells herself that since she's not cooking the breakfast it doesn't make it coupley
sometimes you two will go out for dinner beforehand... it's not a date it's what ellie likes to call a 'pre-workout snack'
you two will study together and celebrate your grades on tests by trying new things out with each other
"you got an A-? so i'm getting fucking lucky tonight… hell yea"
soon enough she's leaving every party with you
and waiting by the phone for you to call
and thinking about what you are doing
or what you are wearing
and it's all really nice
until it begins to overwhelm her and suddenly she feels like she can't breathe
she didn't like how everyone began to call you a "couple" or how much it bothered her when you would talk about people you were attracted to
or how she wanted to punch their faces in
so she begins to avoid all your texts and calls and avoids going to every party she's invited to
she doesn't even check your social media anymore
it all comes to a head when she's walking on campus and spots you coming from the opposite direction causing her to immediately turn around
"hey, ellie! what the fuck?"
she turns around, an awkward look on her face and all she manages to say is: "what's up?"
"what's up? what's up is that you've been avoiding me. all my texts and calls. what gives?"
"i'm just over it. it got too... close.. for me. you're not my girlfriend so stop acting like you are!"
the minute it leaves her mouth and she watches your face shift from anger to sadness she feels sick to her stomach
"wait, i didn't mean it l-"
"fuck you, ellie."
she goes home and has to stop herself from throwing up
she has no one to talk to about this because she knows she's being an asshole
to make matters worse all she really wants to do is talk to you about it
and she can't
so she just wallows in her apartment and avoids you as much as she can
until she can't
her heart nearly stops when she receives a call from you in the middle of the night and you're crying on the other end asking her to pick you up
"ellie, i'm so so sorry... i wouldn't do this to you if i didn't have a choice but they all left me and i didn't know who else to call and... i need you."
"sh, it's okay... hold on, baby. i will be right there. everything will be okay."
she blows through a couple of stop signs on the way to get you and her heart breaks at the sight of your tear-stained face
"hey, are you o-"
"please just drive, ellie."
ellie takes you back to your place and you fully expect her to leave but she helps you upstairs, takes off your makeup, and tucks you in
you fully expected her to leave but when you wake up she's there in your kitchen
and she made you breakfast
"ellie, what are you d-"
"hey, you're up. do you think you could sit down, have some eggs, and just listen to what i have to say? can you do that?"
"um, sure?"
she takes a deep breath before starting and you make note of how she avoids eye contact with you
"i'm not good at this… or i thought i wasn't good at it and it scared the shit out of me. my whole world became you and i was looking forward to seeing you, and talking to you, and touching you, and i got so scared that it could all get taken away at any moment. so scared that i just sabotaged the one good thing in my life. i'm so sorry, is there anyway you could forgive me?"
"of course i can, you freak"

Just an idea, but this is something I often do with my own grannies. So sometimes when I come visit, we'll chat and gossip about random things like what parties happened the night b4 in the community and how I got called into work b'cuzz I'm a matron at the station (I never give names I only call em by their prisoner #'s) and I just give em a general synopsis of what I had to deal with b'cuzz they were screaming, or banging on the door or flipping oit etc, or I show them some true crime podcasts or some interesting documentary about how barbies were made or something other. And then there's visits where we don't even talk, we just sit down in silence while the tv's on or the radio, while having some tea and snacks or supper if I come by at dinner time, and we just enjoy each other's company, it's honestly the best visits when we do that. So just imagine doing that with Battinson Bruce, no talking, just peaceful silence while he works and enjoying each other's presence while also enjoying Alfred's tea and snacks. That'd be so wholesome, and then he walks you home, or you just crash on his couch. That'd be so nice, just something platonic and sweet.
❝I want us both to eat well❞
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
plot: "It’s so complicated staying alive sometimes." — your friendship with the elusive vigilante is a special one in many ways. pairing: platonic!battinson!bruce wayne x gn!reader. cw: partially inspired by the poem "our beautiful life when it’s filled with shrieks" by christopher citro, fluff, reader used to live on the street, reader knows batman's identity, bruce being bad at managing his meal times bc justice never sleeps, platonic but you can read it any way you want to. words: 1.5k. a/n: this is such a sweet anecdote, and I have had some not so great writer's block, so I really appreciated having a simple idea to work with! there is quite a bit of talking but it's not an devilfic fic if they don't yap a bit
It is a verifiable fact that Bruce will not eat at a reasonable time unless you make him.
I mean, he does eat. There are meal preps in the fridge that he unfreezes at sunrise, and there are pre-workout protein shakes and bowls of fruit Alfred leaves for him to graze on, and every once in a while he’ll come upstairs to the dinner table—Bruce and Alfred both know these particular dinners are as much case debriefs as they are eating together, but they’re together and there’s food on the table, and that’s something. Isn’t it?
But for all his effort, Alfred has never been as efficient as you.
You bump Bruce’s shoulder with dinner, a greasy paper bag full of what you promised would make up for the calories, and he inches his book away before you can get anything on it. He feels the residue on his skin, though. “Alright, up and at ‘em. Eat this before it gets any colder than it already is.”
“What is it? Exactly?”
You set the bag on his desk and hand him one paper-wrapped burger and a set of (admittedly) delicious looking fries. “That, my good man, is a delicacy on my side of town. Bizzby’s Burgers. I even splurged and got you a large ‘cause I know you’ll like it.”
Bruce can’t remember the last time he had either of these. As he plucks a fry out of its container, he wonders if it’ll taste good enough to jog his memory. You swear by it, and it feels like he’s more willing to just take your word for it these days. “You didn’t have to.”
“It’s alright. It’s your money anyway.”
“That’s not how a job works.” Bruce watches you drag a stool over to his side and take a seat, catching only a whiff of the rain clinging to the very ends of your sleeves. It was good to know the money he spent on your new jacket was worth it. “You earned it, it’s yours.”
“You gonna finger that fry all night or you gonna tell me I’m amazing?” Bruce grimaces at your choice of words. He takes a bite and, yeah, he sees where all the grease came from, but he’d be lying if he said it didn’t taste good. “Well?”
“It’s good.”
“I’m amazing, right?”
“This is a delicacy?”
“Don’t be a smartass, rich boy.”
“I’m just asking a question.”
You take out your own food and he realizes you’ve got onion rings instead of fries. You stuff one into your mouth, savoring the taste for a little longer than necessary, and really—they can’t be that good. “When gramps ran the place, he’d usually sneak me something at the end of the night. Whatever the others didn’t take home. But it’s been ten years since his son took over and he’s a real hardass about that stuff. I would’ve sworn off the place for good if it wasn’t for the fact that he cooks just like his fucking dad.”
Bruce used to follow you when this all started—a precaution he took to ensure there was no conflict of interest on your part—and this Bizzby’s Burgers sat smack dab between your favorite alley and the shelter. He used to wonder why you never really went in, always lingering outside like it used to be your home, once. Now he knows.
You bring out the sodas next, except he didn’t want a soda, and the next best thing to a fountain drink at Bizzby’s is a milkshake. It’s strawberry and more milk than ice cream at this point, but Bruce dutifully reviews it for you all the same. His desk is slowly becoming a mess from dinner, but it’s been a slow road getting you to take up space like this again. He can be bothered not to be bothered.
“I thought you were just shy, or maybe didn’t trust me, but you really don’t talk much. Do you?” Your question sounds like it’s already been answered in the tone you use.
“I talk when I have something to say.”
“Yeah. You don’t just fill in the silences like some people.” Bruce thinks that’s all you have to say on the matter, but he should know better. You like talking to him. “People pretend you don’t exist when you live on the street. I think they feel guilty, but you sort of get it into your head that maybe you really don’t exist after all. That you stop existing the second you end up here- or… there. I guess. I’m not there anymore.” You look far away in that moment. Bruce watches your eyes flicker, stuck on some unknown memory of a life much harder lived, but then you come back to yourself eventually, “You scared the shit out of me back when we first met.”
Most people remembered him for the fear. You had shrunk in on yourself when he appeared, shivering from the shock or the wind chill or the lack of sleep that clung to your drooping eyes.
Bruce keeps eye contact with you, biting into his burger so slowly that the paper doesn’t even crinkle.
“Like that,” you grumble. “You just can’t help yourself, can you?”
“Help what?”
“Look, that’s not the point. My point was that, like, you were so scary when you first found me in that alley. I thought… I thought you were going to beat me to a pulp over something I didn’t do… or worse, something I did do. You started talking and it felt like all the sound dropped out around me. Like tunnel vision. Like I was the only thing in front of you, and it scared me. Even when you were silent, it felt like… I existed too much. I was too seen. It was overwhelming. But now that I know you…” Bruce’s eyebrow rises. He spares no energy for any other reaction. “It’s kind of nice.”
He wasn’t expecting that. He doesn’t know how to take it; he knows it’s a good thing but in the way a compliment sandwich is mostly a good thing. “Kind of nice” was mostly a good thing.
You must see the uncertainty in his face—a rare occasion he doesn’t hide it—because you rectify your wording, “It is nice. You see me and I exist and I know I exist because you treat me like a person. It was jarring back then but now it feels pretty good. So thanks for scaring the shit out of me, I guess.”
You squirm in your seat, taking a long drag from your straw as you wait for him to say something. Bruce leans further back into his chair, gazing sidelong at you.
In reality, he didn’t quite understand how anyone could miss you.
He’d seen plenty of people just like you on Gotham’s streets, turned away from shelters and scared out of gang territory, and yet you had stuck out to him. When he’d found you curled up in the dark, rain drenching through your clothes, it had been just his luck that you had been witness to exactly what he needed to know, and it was even more his luck that—after the catatonia wore off—you told him everything.
And you caught his eye again, and again, and again. Always on some street corner, shrinking away from the crowds but always on the outskirts, hanging onto the coattails of the bigger bads he stalked after. He supposed you just had something about you. It was hard to trust gut feelings about people in this city (sweetness turned rotten all too suddenly), but so far, he’d been right about you. “You’re welcome.”
You still at his voice. You catch his eyes and something softens in you. Then you sniffle, and Bruce kicks on the heater beneath his desk.
The two of you continue to eat and Bruce waits for you to share something else, but nothing comes up. When dinner’s trashed, you watch from the couch as he works away on a case you have nothing to do with, Bruce waiting for questions that never come.
It’s two in the morning when he hears your first snore. Then six when you come down from the bathroom with a tray of coffee. He thinks it’s Alfred’s, but one sip and he knows it has to be yours; it’s different, not as clear as he's used to, but not unpleasant. Did you ask Alfred to show you how to make it? Or did you just know, and this was how you liked it? You don’t say anything as you sit with him again, eyes crusted over with sleep as you huddle closer for warmth.
It’s Bruce who speaks first, eventually, “I'll call you a cab.”
“Nah, it’s fine. It's a subway kind of morning.” You hoist your bag onto your shoulders, a pound heavier with all the snacks Alfred slipped you in the kitchen. “I can meet you in Chinatown tomorrow night. I know a place with spring rolls to die for.”
Bruce hums, holding the front door open for you, “If you’re willing to wait for me.”
You punch his arm and it catches up to him that he hadn't expected it, that you could've done something much worse and he'd have missed it because... well, because he knew you wouldn't. He feels safe with you.
You’re all smiles, none the wiser. "Who else am I gonna gossip with?"

💖 NUTRITION & WELLBEING EDITION - 10 WEEKS UNTIL 2025 - GLOW UP SERIES [WEEK 10] - 💖
So we’re 10 weeks till 2025, the new year is fast approaching, your energy levels are in the gutter and despite mentally wanting to change your life there’s just something keeping you stuck. You wake up and it’s the same story different day, tired, hungry, moody as hell.
While you might mentally want to change your life, your body needs to be on board and to do that it’s gona need the right foods, drinks and nutrients to have you functioning at your optimal level. Taking drastic action when it comes to changing your diet is how you’re going to see drastic results in your energy levels, productivity and overall wellbeing…
The foundations:
🛌 SLEEP: All those late night movies before bed, Netflix and chill, love-is-blind binging needs to stop immediately. You need a set bed time and you need to be consistent. Waking up and going to sleep at the exact same time every single day. I recommend 10pm - 6am or somewhere around there.
🥱 Sleep with your mouth closed. Use mouth strips from amazon if you dribble, snore, or struggle to sleep properly - breathing through your mouth is most likely the culprit. It’s not natural and disturbs natures rhythm which is breathing through your nose. Mouth strips have been a game changer for me, and highly recommended.
🚫 No screen before bed. This is obvious but those doom scrolling morning and nights are over. Switch it off, read a book, pray, meditate, do what you need to. This is about resting your body before bed so you can sleep well and function at your best the next day.
Sleep supplements: Magnesium oil spray or tablets before bed
🍴 FOODS & DRINKS: 2 litres water MINIMUM per day. Absolutely no alcohol for the next 10 weeks. Strict diet of vegetables, fruits, protein and healthy fats, high quality meats and fish. More herbs into your food. Seeds, whole grains such as Chia, Flaxseed, Pumpkin seed, Bulgar wheat. More pre-and-probiotics. Sprouted veggies. Snack on nuts. No sweets, no cakes, no carbs. No bread, no pasta, no rice, no gluten. No nothing that is not a whole food, or from the earth. You are your own doctor when it comes to food, so you will know what is best for you. Above is the closest diet to nature and has changed my life. Eating vegetables in season. Removing western foods, removing vegetable oil, only drinking structured water, herb teas, and freshly pressed veg juices. Changing your diet might mean you stop eating out, you cut the takeouts, you spend your evenings researching meal preps for Keto, or healthy diet. Your life will completely change when you start feeding your body ALIVE foods, instead of nutrient deficient, processed food that keeps you craving more. Yes you are going against the grain. You will be the minority, but what are the alternatives? Stay binging? Stay eating crap? Stay feeling crap?
Supplements:
Chronium, Berberine for support with blood sugar
D3 + K2, B12, Vitamin C 1000mg, Turmeric, Probiotics,
DIM, Milk Thistle, Selenium, Iodine Drops, Omega 3, Mega GLA for women’s health.
Other:
Get full blood panel done to see any deficiencies
Invest in a continuous glucose monitor from Amazon - see how your body is responding to foods you are eating in real time.
🏃🏽‍♀️EXERCISE: There is no way around this. You need to do some fucking exercise. Even if you start with 10k steps per day. Just do it. Once you’ve switched up your diet you absolutely WILL have more energy. Join a gym, set the intention, put reminders on your phone affirming you ARE someone whoo does exercise and works out. Leave your gym clothes out before bed. Set yourself up to win. Find a friend or someone to work out with. Look on YouTube for a workout if the gym is not possible. Just try your best. This is a mind over matter. ~You got this.
🧘🏽‍♀️ Finally…STRESS FREE LIVING…
You can eat all the healthy foods, do your 10k steps but if you are involved in a stressful life, those stress hormones are going to come and f**k shit up. You have to remove stress where possible. This is the NUMBER one health destroyer. Stress literally makes is ill. It depletes your energy, exhausts you, and keeps you in survival - not much different to the animals living in the wild. Your life can be so stress free once you realise you are actually in control of a lot more than you realise. Blocking HIM. Saying no to hanging out with HER. Hanging up the phone. Removing yourself from the drama. Quitting your job. Changing your course. Deleting social media. Switching off the news permanently. Distancing yourself. There is SO much you can do to remove stress. But it’s completely on you. You have to take control if you are serious about changing your life.
That’s all for this week! Next week more advice on your pre-2025 glow-up.

How sweet it is to be loved by them 22
Tumblr media
Luffy sat next to Zoro as they rolled little colorful balls of dough. He had arlired tired one and got whacked upside the head with a wooden spoon. He had to wait until they were cooked. The kitchen was warm and filled with yummy smells, Sanji had made mini pie things, and Luffy couldn't remember what they were called as a pre-dinner snack. They had eggs and meat!
“Sanji watcha maken?” Luffy asked, sniffing the air as he rolled another tiny dough ball.
“Moqueca its a seafood stew, with rice, tsukemono, danmuji, and sunomono, which are pickled vegetables for side dishes. Then what you're working on is the dessert bua loy.”
“Yum!”
“Curlys is the best fucking cook in the world, but if you're not careful, he will put you to work,” Zoro grinned as he rolled another tiny ball.
“Shut it, Mossy, you like it when I put you to work. Don't think I haven't forgotten the pout you had on your face when I made bread without you,”
“That's just cause kneading is a great workout!” Zoro protested.
“Sure it is Mossy,” Sanji laughed, places a large bowl of stew, with a large mountain of rice in front of him, taking the bowl of balls. “Dig in Luffy,” Luffy didn't need to be told twice, Sanji placed down a smaller bowl filled with veggies. They weren't as good as meat but still tasty.
“Where we headed curls?” Zoro asked while Luffy dug in.
“Orange town, it was where Buggy was roumered to be last,”
“Ugg, fucking hate that clown,” Zoro grumbled before eatting.
“Why what he do?” Luffy asked before shoving more delicious food in his mouth.
“Zoros just upset he keeps trying to reucte me, his crew is only omegas,”
“I heard every word. It sounded like a great pitch. He wanted to make you some great acrobat and thire chef,” Zoro grumbled a pout on his face.
“How! You weren't even thire!” Sanji cried his face turning red.
“The weird snail, Koushirou, got a call, and it was Buggy propositioning you with snickers in the background,”
“Fuck! Dam it Crane! I wounded why he took the Den den out of Zeffs office! I bet Patty distracted Zeff so Crane could steal it!”
“You didn't have to sound so interested and so sad to turn his offer down ya know,”
Luffy had no idea what was going on but he was enjoying the show none the less.
“Marimo, don't be like that, Buggy was a good tiper…to me. I didn't want to lose out on the money. Besides, it went to good use. I bought some ingredients to work with since the old geezer wouldn't let me get anything new, and he plans the menus,”
“At least now you can plan the menu when ever you want, and you got to do so for our wedding,”
“Sanjiii, more!” Luffy held up his empty bowl.
“Sure,” Sanji took the bowl from his hand and filled it up again. “Here you go,”

Luisa Headcanons
Luisa Valeria (Prudence, Ladder, Purple Child, Isa II, Master of merging with the floor, Giant) Rojas Madrigal. Born 14th of November 1930
Childhood
Was a really big baby. To the point people assumed Julieta was pregnant with twins/saying consolations when she said she got only one child.
Refused to accept help while walking
Daddy's girl + Félix's favourite niece.
Was very excited to be a big sister back in the time. Partly because of how often Isabela teased her. It was such a delight not to be the baby sister anymore!
She and Pepa have an ongoing competition of the biggest black coffee drinker in the world. And it doesn't seem to ever stop.
Luisa was very physically active even prior her ceremony. Probably did all the types of exercises
Loved Mirabel a bit way too much. She didn't want to stop hugging her no matter what. The only way Julieta and Agustín could convince her to let go was the fact that Mirabel needed time to eat and sleep to be full of energy to match Luisa.
There was no chance in the world anyone (aside from Isabela after getting messy and Pepa) could match her energy.
She probably did some chores in the village even prior her ceremony. Nothing too hard, usually she helped only to people who actually were weak to carry their things themselves.
Just like with Isabela, Luisa would fall into overworking at some point even without Mirabel's failed ceremony. It had really just speeded it up
Adult years pre-movie
Had a lot of muscle pains from overworking.
Grew really distant with almost the entire family. She loved them, but didn't exactly had time to squeeze relationship into her schedule.
A natural protector of the family. Luisa often felt anxious of what would happen if she failed to defend her family
Had helped with preparing for sport competitions when she was in school. Probably also was a judge several times. She was forbidden to competete herself because of her gift.
Enjoys dancing, one of the best in her family.
Vents to the donkeys from time to time
Doesn't really like physical violence and feels guilty if she lets agression slip, but she will kill anyone who dare to harm people she cares about without a second thought.
Takes a lot of snacks whenever she helps Julieta. (Or technically only one snack which is a whole plate swallowed in a minute). But she doesn't really get distracted to eat otherwise.
Eats the most in the family, taking her size and amount of physical work.
Post-movie

In the first month or so during rebuilding of the Casita Luisa was getting more injuries than the rest of the family combined. Including her dad. The reason behind it is because her gift made her forget of what normal human limits are.
She still tends to forget about it to be honest. Camilo once asked to help him train to gain muscle mass to impress boys. Luisa gave him workout that professional athletes would find hard, and then was surprised when Camilo fell flat from exhaustion.
The fact that Isabela stepped on protective ground too helped Luisa with anxiety way more than they both realize. As now Luisa feels that even if she fails to protect her family, somebody else will back her up.
Gets a turn into construction. She helps both with hard physical tacks and projecting or choosing the spot where it would stand without leaning anywhere.
Sometimes Luisa forgets about breaks and healthy schedule too. It's a matter of habit that won't break in one moment. So there were ocassions when Luisa unintentionally slipped into overworking, but it bever lasted longer than two days.
Still prefers simple and practical clothes, but allows more embodery/small trims on it. Especially in days when she's not doing hard manual labor.
The family (Mainly the rest of grandkids) has sort of a competition game where they try to bribe Luisa to let them use shower in her room. (Mirabel was banned because of favouritism)
Relationship:
Alma: Luisa is probably the most comfortable around her Abuela out of her sisters in the beginning. As a huge part of her trauma came from the town rather than from Abuela herself like it happened with Isabela and Mirabel. Not to say it was perfect. Luisa was getting mentally ready each time Alma called her for something, as it used to be only to give her some chores before. But out of the cold sisters she's definitely the easiest one to get close to Alma and forgive her.
Pepa: They actually have way more of close traits that people tend to take into account. Both are extremely physically active and can't rest for ten minutes, very loud and tend to quickly snap and then feel bad for it right after. Pepa enjoys having someone with whom she can let her weather loose without being afraid to cause any serious harm. And Luisa loves challenge that her Tía's weather can provide.
Bruno: Strange. They weren't very close prior his leaving, but Luisa didn't have any ill feelings about her uncle. She just finds it strange to meet him after ten years of separation. (Fiveteen if you count when he started to isolate himself)
Julieta: Julieta puts an eye on Luisa to make sure she doesn't overwork herself again, she sometimes would leave to get Luisa to eat her lunch when her daughter is too excited to stop herself.
Agustín: They both are trying to make up for the years when Luisa couldn't spend much time with her dad. I imagine both of them having Father-Daughter day every once in a while where they just help eachother with work and show cool stuff.
Félix: Pretty close. They find it ironic of how close their birthdays are, believe me, they will jome about it all the time. Félix admires Luisa's loyalty and how hardworking and determibed she is. Luisa loves her always cheerful and optimistic uncle. Félix also tells Luisa some rips that help Pepa to deal with anxiety.
Dolores: They aren't really getting along well. Luisa is an antonym to the word quiet, and Dolores dislikes physical work. So they aren't close for the most of the time. Not to say they hate eachother. But both would prefer to spend time with literally anybody else
Camilo: Two theatre kids. Just like with Pepa, Luisa tends to be a bit competetive with him, they will race down the stairs together and llay football. Camilo probably sees her as a cool big sister. After all, if the oldest and youngest kids are close, why shouldn't be the middles?
Mirabel: Luisa adores her sister. Literally. Bow that she doesn't have to work this much anymore, they can return to their roots of toddler Luisa refusing to let her Mamá to hold Mirabel. They also relair their relationship easier that Isabela and Mirabel. Noth because they weren't arguing amd because they were closer prior Mirabel's ceremony.
Antonio: Just like Isabela, Luisa had probably barely interacted with Antonio because of her age and how busy she was. But two animal lovers are bound to get along.

25k Celebration - Short Story
NEON Short Fluff Fic: “Eavesdropping”
Hey guys, to celebrate my fic NEON – A Separated Sibling AU reaching 25k hits, I wrote a short fluff story that puts you in the shoes of the rat-man himself and shows you how he has been feeling about the newest addition to the fam. You don’t need much pre-knowledge to enjoy this story. Basically, this plays after the events of ‘Shadows of Evil’ (or chapter 20 of my fic) and sees a Leo who grew up with Draxum losing his odachi, learning about the Hamato clan and slowly adapting to his new life in the lair. (Thank you to my twin @leonrose55 for suggesting this prompt! This wouldn’t exist without you!) A million thanks to everyone who has been supporting this fic, you guys are the best, and I hope you enjoy this respite! ;)
For every parent comes the day when they must admit to themselves after they believed to know everything about their children that this simply wasn’t true anymore. Ever since my three sons started to act and think and say things, I couldn’t anticipate I had to accept that they were on their road to becoming their own independent…well…turtle mutants. I found it curious that for the newcomer to our lair, it was quite the opposite. From the beginning, I had no idea what to make of Leonardo, and each action he took only unsettled me more. I was never completely at ease when he was around, anticipating him to be a mere extension of one of Baron Draxum’s plots when all he in fact did was eat and nap and sometimes crack some worryingly violent jokes. Routine can change many things. As we started our training so he could learn how to wield two katanas, Hamato style, I had plenty of time to not only study his movements but also his subtle reactions. What face did he make when he had been close to winning? How would he react when he was exhausted and continued the workout anyway? I didn’t unlearn his patterns like with my sons, I learned them from its fundaments, and I got the sense I was far off from knowing even the basics. And all of this I noticed because, on this particular day, his focus had been off, and I was quite taken aback by myself because I could immediately tell. I swiped him off his feet, swords clanking to the ground. “Shit, not again,” Leo grumbled, getting up and grabbing for his weapons. The way he complained non-stop yet never actually stopped with his training reminded me so much of myself. (Admittedly, I hadn’t been the best of students.) “Your stance is off,” I pointed at his left foot, “and are you aware that you’re holding one sword with its backside up?” The turtle blinked and stared down at his hands. “Oh,” he mumbled and quickly corrected himself. I sighed. Some days simply be like this. “How about we do something different for today’s training?” I suggested and Leo’s eyes widened behind his black bandana. “No, it’s fine, we can keep going,” he insisted. Sheesh, I thought Purple could be ambitious about his projects at times. This one was on a whole other level. It was like failing wasn’t supposed to be part of his dictionary. “I’m not saying we will stop training. We are only changing up the pace…Have you seen my amazing Lou Jitsu adventures where I use dual sword fighting? Jell-O Jell-O Rush 1, 2, and 3?” I puffed up my chest. Leo blinked at me with an unchanged expression. “Uuuuh, no?” Stroking my whiskers I made my way to the tv room. “I know you have your reservation about how efficient it is to learn from the source materials, but I assure you these are worth your time! I also think Raph never finished his pack of wasabi peanuts yesterday and it’s lying around here somewhere.” I anticipated him to complain, at least try a counteroffer, or make a snarky comment about my acting career. All of those things had happened before… That’s probably why I needed a moment to process that Leo immediately picked up one of the big cushions, snatched the snack packs I mentioned, and settled down in front of the projector. Were the therapy sessions with Orange showing their effect? Or did Donatello do some brain-altering experiments on him? (I wouldn’t put it above him to mess with our ‘guest’ like that.) He noticed I kept standing at the entrance of the room and threw a glance back at me stating: “Hey, I learned my lesson about human movies and how they can teach you cool moves to fuck shit up a while back, I ain’t complaining.” I wasn’t entirely sure what he meant by that and since that was usually the case with Leo, I shrugged and accepted this as a rare instance where the fates seemed to have pity on me. “Plus,” he threw two brightly green-coated peanuts into his mouth, “stolen snacks taste the best.” The almost childish-mischievous gleam in his eyes oddly enough made him look more like his age and so I couldn’t bring myself to chide him for such comments. There were too many other moments where he visibly locked up and the iron-clad harshness in his demeanor made me believe that he had seen and experienced things, a teenager shouldn’t have. I made my way to my precious chair that had just the right dent from years of sitting in the same spot and selected the first installment of the ‘Jell-O Jell-O’ saga.   For the first half an hour or so, Leo was looking at the screen and it couldn’t have been more obvious that he wasn’t focusing on what was going on in front of him. But once my previous incredible human Self picked up the swords and hacked through the multi-colored jelly, Leo got transfixed to the projector. He took in those combat movements like a cake sponge that was soaked in cocoa. (Memo to myself: stock up on sponge cake) By the time we had moved on to the second part, the turtle was hooked just like the other three would be invested in their favorite Lou Jitsu moving picture. (I loved their debates on what movie they preferred and why especially before I revealed my identity.) “The way Lou Jitsu used the swords like a twirling staff,” Leo mused out loud, “that’s brilliant! So effective against backstabbers! I hate backstabbing except if it’s done by myself.” Yeah, sometimes I just plain-out worry about this kid… “That’s a technique from Yagyu Shinkage-ryu. A style that focuses on disarming your opponent and getting the upper hand, rather than killing them,” I explained and surprised myself by remembering the official name. Seemed like some things my grandpa taught me stuck with me even after all these years. “Huh, never heard of it. Doesn’t sound very useful…in the movie, it looked really strong though,” Leo popped the last peanuts into his mouth before adding: “Can you show me some more of it in the next training session?” This was, without a doubt, the first time he had ever directly asked me a favor. I needed a heartbeat or two during which I said nothing, and he apparently also realized what he had done. He hectically crumpled up the empty pack and went on without any pause between the words: “I mean, it’s whatever. You don’t have to do that.” I couldn’t help but return with a smug smile, “I’m not sure if you’re ready for such advanced techniques, still! Let’s see what we can do.” “Fuck, I shouldn’t have asked,” Leo grumbled drawing his legs closer to his torso, “just start the next movie already.” “Sure,” I snickered. I must admit that as we had filmed this final part of the epic Jell-O saga we had run out of ideas for the plot and so I wasn’t even offended when I heard low reverberating snores and saw Leo leaning against the leg of my couch, mouth half-open and drooling in his sleep. “Do you intend to watch the rest of the movie from beyond the door, dear son?” I called out and my fine hearing made out familiar steps approaching me from behind. “Sorry,” Raph apologized in a hushed voice, “I was looking for the snacks that I left here yesterday and then I saw you both talking, and I didn’t want to intrude and then I…” I waved my hand at him to signal that it was all good. “We tried something else for training,” I explained, and with a glance to the ground to my right I added, “he seemed a bit out of it. Did anything happen recently?” The big turtle shrugged even if his eyes had a very slight nervous twitch. He had developed that habit after I had told them all about the Hamato, which made me wonder if that had really been such a good idea. “He is more focused,” Raph began, occasionally pausing between words, “in a good way, I think. Since he lost his odachi he’s forced to stay at the lair much more. Because…no portals.” Even if he wasn’t the most eloquent of the bunch, which was Purple no doubt, he was often on point. “Oh,” Red appeared to remember something else and told me: “We talked about going out for pizza for April’s birthday tomorrow. He wanted to come with us but commented on how he didn’t understand human birthday traditions and after we explained a few things to him, I guess, he wanted to say something else about that and then didn’t. Left to train with you before we could ask him. Maybe he wanted to comment on how yokai birthdays worked?” “Perhaps,” I mused, “even during my years in the hidden city, I never learned much about their cultures. I assume he knows a lot more than I do.” In the background, a giant Jell-O monster exploded on screen. The special effects budget had been tight for this production, so looking back at it was a bit jarring. “Did you hear that?” I questioned my oldest, “how he asked me to show him more of that fighting style? I’ve never seen him interested in anything except for what Mikey cooks for dinner.” Raph cocked his head a bit and returned, “yeah, well, he keeps catching us off-guard whenever he listens to anything we say. Wish it would be the other way around, though.” The credits rolled, and we both regarded the red-eared slider. His bandana slipped off on one side a bit and slightly covered his eye. It was quite a silly sight to behold. I wondered, not for the first nor for the last time, how things would have been if I would have left with four instead of three small turtles that fateful day. How differently he would have turned out if he would have grown up amongst those who had been mutated along with him? Would he have then no scars and know fewer cuss words? Maybe he wouldn’t always carry several hidden blades around with him because he feared he would be ambushed and killed. And maybe he would have more time to grow up. Imagining such a different reality, I mourned for the loss of something that had never existed. A special kind of melancholy was reserved for those who tend to dwell on the ‘what-ifs’. “What do we do with him? Should we leave him here?” Raph asked and tore me away from the thoughts that I had slowly sunk into like quicksand.   “I wanted to watch a show at 10, it’s the semi-final of the Great British Bake Off.” I wasn’t keen on missing that and I wasn’t sure Leo would appreciate waking up to see humans baking cakes in the most stressful ways possible. “I think if he keeps leaning against your chair like that, he will wake up with a stiff neck and then he will curse a lot more and there are words I don’t want Mikey to know about yet,” Red considered, showing so naturally concern for his younger siblings, it made my heart brimming with pride. “How about you try to carry him to his room?” I offered. “I guess Raph could do that,” he said slowly, walking around to bend down and scoop him up. Awkwardly he extended his arms and readjusted his position before he got one arm under Leo’s knees and kept his back upright with the other. That whole scene reminded me of when Raph attempted to approach the various cats that would sometimes sneak into the lair. For some reason, they didn’t like the snapping turtle. Leo kept snoring and I followed both out and to the troublemaker’s room. We dimmed the lights and once the big guy had settled the smaller turtle into his bed, I put his blanket over him with deliberate and ever-so-careful motions. “Wow, he’s really out of it,” Raph whispered to me as I moved a step backward. “Guess it shows that he’s making an effort, to train and go on your missions and be a part of our little group. Not that he would ever admit it,” I returned. “Nope, never,” Red grinned. We sneaked out of the room, and I wished my oldest son a good night. Returning to my tv room, I hummed a pop song from my youth to myself and thought about my worries that we couldn’t read Leo at all. Based on my conversation with Raph, it seemed like we could tell what was going on with our newcomer quite well already.
---
…Eight…Nine…Ten. I opened my eyes as their footsteps grew more distant. I dared to breathe deeply and unevenly and drew my blanket up. What the hell just happened??? I had dozed off during the last movie and when I woke up, I heard Raph and Splinter talking. And not only that. Their topic of the day had been el yo. It felt like awful timing to be like: ‘Hey I’m awake now. No, I have no idea you guys been chatting.’ I was sure they would have believed I had faked it from the beginning. But still, I wouldn’t have expected things to escalate, and for Raph to pick me up and carry me to bed. I almost blew it at this point. Feeling all the blood in my body rush to my head I flopped around to lie on my belly and press my face into my pillow. Gotta be honest with you guys. I had seen my opportunity to catch them red-handed. I’m mean things like talking shit about me, complaining about me, or admitting to eating my secret cookie stash. (SOMEONE seemed to know about it, whomever that fucker was.) Instead, they only said nice things. What a bunch of weirdos. Perhaps they were testing me? Seeing how long I could keep up the act? I turned my head to the right to get some air since my pillow was slowly suffocating me. From my toes up to my nose, everything was kinda tingly and the corners of my mouth moved up without me actively wanting to. This had been a great birthday, after all. Their talk about April’s celebration coming up made me unsure of what to expect of such a day. At my old place, this date merely meant I would get a yearly examination of my vitals and another entry in my experiment file. On the surface, it sounded like such a hassle to organize and execute and ‘something you should look forward to.’ That last point was Mikey’s words, not mine. After what happened today, I think I knew what he meant. Birthdays, even if nobody knew about them, could be days where you get to just sit down and watch action movies and get to steal snacks and didn’t even have to walk and sleep as much as you like. I could get used to this. Feeling my smile expanding and with Splinter’s and Raph’s words resounding in my head, I huddled deeper into my soft bed.

if you can forgive the jockposting for a moment, i have found myself in what the kids call, An Situations.
so there is a triathlon, a race happening May 19th. It's a 400m swim followed by a 12 mile bike and then a 4.1 ish mile run. As tris go it's about as short and sweet as you can get and the atmosphere of this particular race is extremely casual. it's fun, grandmas do it in teams with their grandkids, people will take the entire day and complete it at a leisurely walking pace with snacks and potty breaks, it's chill.
its also somewhat of a landmark race. pre-covid registration opened 7 pm March 5th and all 1600 spots filled up by 705pm the same night. if you wanted to race you had to set several alarms for the registration and find a spot with fast internet. Since pandemic protocols went in there is now a virtual event, where you do the swim, bike, and run on your own time and submit your splits. which. yeah. okay. that is technically a solution but that's stretching the definition of a race while not meaningfully improving anything. but what it has done is significantly lessened the clamor around the in-person event..
which means that despite completely forgetting about registration a week ago there are still open spots. I love this race, I've done it for years. I like to think of it as my annual personal summer sport debut, because it falls right around my birthday and the end of break-up season. I don't do it every year because life happens and the registration debacle, but I've done it a lot.
however. despite being very much a personal best/ individual performance kind of thing, triathlons are best enjoyed with someone else. a race buddy, someone to chat with in the locker room and on the pool deck while you're waiting around, someone to cheer for, someone to get post-race chicken nuggets with. someone to, y'know, race. i am lacking.
everyone i have historically done this with has moved away/too many commitments/had babies/quit racing/ect. I can not bribe/blackmail/threaten/coerce/con any of my family members. I am not well situated to join a training group of people who are already going to do it. all my friends who do not do triathlons are aware of what a triathlon would entail and can not be convinced, despite this one being the super easy entry-level version.
so my conundrum is this. i have raced the full solo experience where I drive me and my gear to the race alone, get ready set and go, all by my onsies, and then clean up and go home. it kinda sucks. it's just a crowded sprint workout with an expensive tee shirt. I love racing and I love this race, but I'm not inclined to spend the time, money, and effort to do it without someone to do it with. WHICH IS MADE PAINFULLY ACUTE BY THE FACT THAT THERE IS THE OPTION TO GET ONE OF THOSE COVETED SPOTS THAT USED TO GET SNAPPED UP LIKE CANDY.
