ok I have such a bad memory istg this is just because I don't remember but. is riz canonically aro/ace? I know his whole conversation with his dad was pointing there, but I only vaguely remember that it being "canon" came from.. an adventuring party? of the seven? I don't know if it was officially said somewhere other than that. and not to rain on anyone's parade! but brennan mentioning it out of game without murph even there kind of feels like. not canon. idk something about it always tickles my brain wrong when people talk about it, but I don't remember the specifics of the adventuring party. please someone refer me to more information.
#idk something about the idea of brennan saying it during an adventuring party of a different season makes it feel ehh#i mean i love you all and headcanon to your hearts content#but its also possible riz is an anxious teenager and might not be aro/ace.#because he hasn't said his identity. in canon.#i really hope this isnt offensive it just always irks me that its referred to as 'canon'#when. to my knowledge. secondhand mentioning is the only thing we have.#d20#fantasy high#riz gukgak

It makes me incredibly angry when people say "Riz is canonically aro/ace" and act like you're a horrible person if you ship him with people. Like. Nowhere in the show is it ever stated that he's aro/ace. The conversation people reference as him being "canonically" aro/ace is just him expressing his lack of very specifically sexual attraction, and even then the response from his dad (and by extension Brennan and the show as a whole) is that it's okay, and that it's specifically unclear whether he's ace or whether it's just not something that's happened for him in specific yet. It is intentionally vague as to whether he is ace or not, and there's genuinely zero indication in the show that he's aro other than that he doesn't have a love interest which could be completely unrelated.
Right so I'd like to share my opinion on this for a brief moment. I am still fully here to give people a voice, but this is just, an issue that kinda hits close to home since I'm demiaro.
The most annoying thing in a lot of media is when representation is shoehorned in as a list of labels and buzzwords we're given. Queer people should not have to turn to the screen and say their full identity in order for them to be canonically queer. That's what subtext is for. That's what good writing does. Is not spell it out for you when it's not necessary to do so. They do not need it to be spelt out for it to be very clear that he's ace/aro.
I am going to assume ignorance here instead of assuming malicious intent. The idea that the reason he isn't ace, is because "it's not something that's happened for him in specific yet", is an extremely common thought process behind asexual erasure. I'm sure that's not what you intended, but that is something to reflect on in general.
Both Adaine and Riz have yet to have relationships or display crushes (not counting junior year since most of the evidence comes from sophomore year) . Adaine hasn't gotten an entire nightmare sequence / arc around dealing with here friends all finding partners and leaving them alone. Adaine hasn't expressed or had conversations about any lack of sexual or romantic feels to the extent Riz has. Adaine is headcanoned as ace/aro by some people. Riz is more than that. Riz is very much canonically ace/aro if you do the slightest bit of character analysis. There's accidental coding and then there's Riz Gukgak.
List of every single Riz trait that is hella ace/aro coded
A lack of sexual and romantic attraction to other people (I'm not counting the time where he said he was kinda into Sexy Rat, that whole scene was a bit, and absolutely insane)
Making up a partner/crush in order to fit in (I have 1000% done that and so have a lot of acespec and arospec people)
A fear of being left behind by his friends because of a belief that they will find partners and move on from him, largely caused by alloromantic culture's insane emphasis on how the most important relationship is a romantic one
The fact that almost every other fantasy high pc has been in a relationship or a crush (kristen had tracker and gertie, gorgug had zelda, unit, and mary ann, fabian had aelwyn, ivy, and mazey, adaine had oisin and possibly zayn depends on your interpretation, and fig has had ayda and a string of professionals in a variety of fields across seasons 1 and 2) with only riz as a single character
The fact his sophomore year arc was entirely about his lack of sexual/romantic attraction and fear of being left alone because of it
Like not even a joke, it was that and his dad, that was the whole arc
His junior year arc was also about his obsession to stay together as a friend group, which like I mentioned above, is very clearly based in his asexuality and aromanticism
I am not going to stop people from shipping characters ever. If you want to rewrite character sexualities, that's fine by me, I'm a big believer in "Don't Like, Don't Read". I am not gonna pretend like characters are not their sexuality in canon so that people feel justified in writing their stories. People who rewrite character sexuality can do so without making everyone else assuage their guilt for them. I know I'm on the "piss on the poor" reading comprehension website, but it's not hard to tell Riz is ace/aro in canon, and pretending otherwise doesn't help your case.

"eddie isn't queer/gay," you say. "he is straight in canon, so him being gay is just a head canon. it's ok for others to think of him as straight because that's what he is."
let's ignore for a second the fact that eddie has never ever ever ever not even once, said in canon that he is a heterosexual very straight guy. seriously!!! he has never once said it!!! if i am "assuming" he's gay then you are also "assuming" he is straight even though he has never once said it!!
how do you think we got bi buck as canon? like i am serious right now, answer the question. how do you think we go bi buck canon? evan buckley was never conceived to be a bisexual man at the beginning of 911. the reason we have evan buckley as a canonically bisexual character today is because us, queer fans of 911, interpreted him and headcanoned him as bisexual. i would go even further and say that it was us, BUDDIE FANS, who interpreted him and headcanoned him as bi. even before the writers were explicitly writing him as bisexual. we read his actions and his story and his identity and said: "this is a bi character!" and the writers looked back and realized that it made sense! and so they started writing him explicitly and canonically as bi.
was it wrong of us to headcanon a character as bisexual then? like for all intents and purposes we were reading a "straight" character as bi. were we doing something wrong? how come you are not complaining/chastising us/shaming us for how we took evan buckley, an otherwise straight character, and saw him as bi? is it because it now serves a purpose to you that he is bi?
also, taking characters that aren't confirmed queer and reading them as queer is what the queer community, and specifically the queer fandom community, has been doing for DECADES. look up the history of queer coding, i am begging you. it has been through the means of queer coding and the perseverance of people that are engaged in it that actual queer representation in media has increased. and let me tell you right now, eddie diaz is, undoubtedly and undeniably, one of the most queer coded characters there is. whether you think this queer coding is conscious by the writers or not. eddie diaz is queer coded.
and i want everyone who says things like "eddie diaz is not a queer character. he is straight in canon. it's wrong to assume a character is queer without the character saying so" to know that this is exactly what straight and homophobic people say. you are using the SAME rhetoric that has been used to shame queer fans for decades for seeing themselves and their experiences in fictional characters of all types. in fact, us, queer fans (and again BUDDIE FANS), were told so many times by straight fans that we were wrong for reading buck as bisexual. and where are we now? where did reading buck as bi take us? oh yeah, to having bi buck in canon.
so please just stop with the "eddie isn't queer in canon" comments. if you don't want to interpret eddie as queer then that is your prerogative. i will be judging why that is, for sure, but it is your right. but be honest about it. it has nothing to do with whether or not he is straight (which hasn't been said) or queer coded (which he so obviously is seeing as so many of us can very easily read him as queer). it's a personal preference and you're not engaging with canon better because of it.
#like i am sooooo serious when i say that people who use this argument are able to enjoy canon bi buck thanks to us the fans who have been#here for years reading buck and eddie as queer. so i would appreciate the respect from them of how we have been reading the source material#in such ways that the writers have actually followed our path and footsteps.#i KNOW why the number of people who don't want to interpret eddie as queer has grown. i KNOW why the number of people who don't want canon#to confirm that eddie is queer has grown. but i just want them to be honest about it. i don't want them to use the canon excuse.#because for all intents and purposes buck was “straight” until 7x04 but i have seen NO ONE say that we were wrong for thinking he wasn't fo#years. we read buck as bisexual which lead the show to confirm buck as bisexual. we read eddie as queer which is very obviously leading the#show to set eddie up as being confirmed queer. like there is no difference. and yet some people are treating it as very different.#eddie diaz#911#buddie

RONIN VERSION BECAUSE I LOVE HIM
In the game, Ronin is mentioned to have a wife and a daughter. Unfortunately this isn't canon in the real timeline but I am in LOVE with the idea of father Ronin.
100% girl dad. This is why he looked after nya when she was manifesting her abilities.
sure, he's a huge dick and pain in the ass sometimes but you know what he isn't? A BAD DAD
"MCDONALDS! MCDONALDS! MCDONALDS!" "HELL YEAH LETS GET MCDONALDS" *buys 25 happy meals*
he is so dilf core
i mean what
who said that
he's got huge fatherly instincts. Yeah, he usually dgaf when the ninja are in trouble (unless money is involved) but if one of them aren't feeling very good and he happens to notice that, he goes into father mode
nya is feeling left out because she's the only girl? Ronin hears out all her rants and introduces her to his own daughter (who happens to be the same age) and they go on shopping dates together
cole is having trouble controlling his ghost abilities? Ronin gives tips and helps him concentrate (albeit a little harshly), but in the end, cole really improves keeping himself stable
zane short-circuits and starts malfunctioning? Ronin is immediately pulling out his toolbox and fixes him, even adding in premium things like data and upgrades PIXEL for him
jay wants to impress nya? Ronin (begrudgingly) lets him fly REX and lets him take nya on cool flying dates. (...but if jay breaks something, he's banned forever. it hasn't happened yet, but it probably will.)
kai needs to burn off some steam because he's stressed? Ronin brings him to a junkyard and gives him unsupervised access to firecrackers, flamethrowers, small bombs, etc etc and tells him to go wild (see below)
lloyd is feeling upset and guilty? Ronin sits him down and gives him therapy. sure, a bit rough on the sides and he still makes snarky remarks, but makes sure that lloyd hears what he needs to hear. it leaves lloyd feeling a lot better about himself.
Ronin's family is sort of a Spy x Family type thing. He's a thief, and his wife pretends to work as an employee at city hall but she's actually receiving secret missions from the government. they aren't exactly rich, so they both need to work dirty jobs to get money. they end up finding out about each other's identity but they laugh it off and help each other with missions sometimes.
Ronin's daughter is a lot like nya. she's a machine fanatic, good at judo, can steal your wallet in an instant, and insanely smart. she's very aware of what her parents' real jobs are but keeps her mouth shut bc she loves them both and knows that theyre doing it to keep her alive.
her dad disappears for days or weeks at a time but he always comes back with her fave things (probably speckled with blood but she doesn't care) and makes sure to spend time with her afterwards, so all's good.
ANYWAY
THAT CONCLUDES MY HAPPY RONIN HEADCANONS

Hi, hello, I’m new to your blog. I’ve made myself at home. Lovely carpet.
Can I please know more about your spider Robbie pie? Can’t seem to find the silverware.
but of course, kind anon
Spider Robbie is an au in which Robbie Robertson takes up the spider mantle after the death of the one before him. He is the third, following Ben Urich and, most notably, Peter Parker.
This au is very much canon divergence from Eyes Without a Face, where Peter makes it in time to save Robbie from his original fate but dies in the process. Peter is shot while rushing Robbie and the others out. In his panic and elation at finding Robbie physically unharmed, Peter outs himself as the Spider Man to his best friend. Robbie stays with him as he bleeds out and resolves to continue to hide Peter's identity.
Peter is buried and remains that way for... an undetermined amount of time.
Robbie is left with a mask, a jacket, and the question of just who was this other half of his friend. As he learns more of who this... Spider Man was, he gets more and more involved in the spider's cases and conflicts. Robbie gets more sure of his own abilities and makes a bit of a name for the Spider Man within his own community, though the people of Harlem are largely unaware that the appearances of a masked vigilante match the interests of one Robbie Robertson.
It is to be noted that none of these aforementioned abilities are spider-god-induced powers like Peter's. Robbie, especially at the beginning of his spidering career, leans more into Urich's role than Parker's. To me, Robbie has been passionate about the press and journalism in a way that Peter never was. For Pete, his job as a photographer and reporter was a job he took until he could get into college and study science. Robbie has a way with words and communication that Peter frankly lacks. Of course, that isn't to say that Robbie won't be kicking ass, because he will. It will just take him a bit of time to get some of those skills as he's, well, a normal guy. Not everyone can get their biology scrambled like Pete.
And just because Robbie hasn't been scrambled doesn't mean he's completely separate from all things supernatural either!
I think the marvel noir universe is at its best when there's a magical, supernatural undercurrent. This concept isn't super prevalent in the actual comics, but HoplesslyLost on ao3 has done some really cool world building with it.
I think in Robbie's case, where he would be the narrator, "magical realism" would be an interesting avenue to take it. I use this term in particular because I most closely relate it to Toni Morrison in my head, when I first learned about it through her work in high school. For Morrison, the concept was inseparable to blackness and I think for Robbie, where his blackness is so central to his character and his motivations, drawing on that could be more of a service to his character. It feels better to do that than ignore how incredibly racialized his society and story is. It will make his relationship with the spider god, Peter (who I will get to very very shortly), his community, and his own mythos as The Spider Man really interesting and complex.
So it's been established that Robbie doesn't have spider powers. And we all know that Peter did-- or should I say does. One of the spider god's abilities is to bring Peter back to life. She does this in the comics, but not in any of the runs from 2008-2010 (the runs that make up this au). When Peter dies on Ellis Island, he does not think he is coming back from that. Waking up again is a surprise.
Here's where I think the au really takes a left turn. Do I think the Spider God is purely evil and spiteful and has it out for Pete? No, not really. Will I be ramping said traits up to 11 for the au? Yeah, I guess I might. This is because I love a little bit of horror and the came back wrong trope. I will hopefully be fleshing the spider god out in the near future, but I really haven't given her the many hours of thought I have the other characters. For that I'm sorry spider god </3
Peter digs himself out of his grave, more spider than he ever has been. For much of his new, waking life he is more animalistic than not. There is clearly something wrong with him; his joints are too flexible and loose, he's got some eye-shine going on, his skin is pale and his veins are starkly dark beneath it. He's possessed. Someone is puppeteering him, someone who knows a lot-- almost everything about him, but it's clear that the someone isn't him.
And Peter--- the body, it can't be Peter. At least, that's what Robbie thinks when the figure catches his eye the first time. Because Peter is dead and buried, and he has been dead and buried for weeks.
#WOAH this is long#while still not saying much... mweh heh heh#other notes that i don't know how to add in w/out derailing the main vague explanation of the au:#the trio shifts from Peter & Robbie & MJ to Robbie & MJ & Gloria#robbie and his girl gang#and u all know me for my robbienoir shipping well.... It's crazy how literally everything about why Bad is fucked up can be linked to Atlantis. I don't even think the Federation is half of his trauma.
He lies compulsively about everything, but his whole identity is built on a lie. He's just made of lies. Yes, he lies because he's mischievous, but I don't think he can stop lying. He is so fearful of his past catching up to him, that, for 11,600 years, he's been lying about not being a demon. Telling someone what species you are is just introductory level knowledge. And Bad cannot even reveal that much to others. When we're starting with this much repression, is it really a surprise that he can't ever be truthful? And this, of course, all began because he's terrified that people will find out he destroyed a city.
He has a "family first" mindset that isn't exactly original, but it is unusually intense. He is very much the type to burn the world for his loved ones, and he's very willing to act on it. Every parent had heavily grieved the loss of their kids, and many of them unleash this grief in destructively. No parent has swung so far dark that they actively tortured another being. This is NOT to say Bad loves his children "more", this is only to prove that Bad's extreme is just so far removed from everyone else's. This can all stem from the fact that Bad's relationship with loss has, in my opinion, permanently fucked up the way he forms attachment.
So, everyone in Atlantis dies. Great. Bad tries to live. He forms friendship with more mortals. They die. He forms new friendships. They die again. This repeats for thousands of years. The only exception to this rule is Skeppy, and his relationship with Skeppy borders on co-dependency. His "obsession" with Skeppy feels so foreign to other islanders, and it should be from a mortal standpoint. But Bad has to be careful about who he lets in to avoid loss, so if he can love one person freely, then of course he will love them with everything. The same can be said for Dapper and Pomme. They're his children, and he loves them without any of the paranoia he subjects to anyone else. And then every single attachment gets taken away from him. He doesn't have an anchor anymore. It's not surprising he's forming an unhealthy dependency on Ron, and he's not going to give a fuck about anyone's feelings or morals if it means getting his family back.
The same can be said for his paranoia. He's overly paranoid because he was forcibly summoned to a place where everyone around him died. This is canon, confirmed by cc!Bad himself. He's been like this BEFORE getting dumped on murder mystery island! And if his paranoia is worsening because of the island, then of course his "worse" is going to feel drastically more intense than others'. Everything here is just validating pre-existing habits.
All of this is a cocktail for emotional disaster. Bad has been hard at work repressing everything for 11,000 years, and is losing everyone he uses to keep himself sane. I'm not even sure how he can heal from the loss of Dapper and Pomme, even if temporary, because he hasn't even begun to heal from Atlantis. It makes his friends' desperation to save him that much sadder. They're out of their depth with this one, the first step has to be made by Bad himself, and nothing he has done has convinced me that step will happen.

Hey I thought you might have more knowledge about this since you've romanced both Hassian and Reth already so I wanted to ask... I'm on level 3 romance with Reth and just got his pin. I haven't started a romance with anyone else. I'm level 4 friendship with Hassian, and when he saw my Reth pin he said "I see your heart belongs to another. I suppose I was foolish to think you'd reserve it exclusively for me." And I was like WHAT is he saying that he thought we were in a relationship already??? (Which I assumed could be because sometimes my dialogue gets bugged and villagers say things related to quests I haven't finished yet) But I checked the wiki and apparently that's his reaction to seeing a pin regardless of the player's status with him!? So if that's true, then does it basically confirm that Hassian canonically has a crush on the player character no matter what and is always secretly hoping for a relationship with them? But if we romance someone else then he gets sad and jealous and finally admits what he was too shy to say before, knowing now that he's too late? Big news if so. Really fits into the brooding tragic romantic tsundere personality that he hides underneath a cold exterior.
oh my god I did not know he did this even if you weren't in a relationship with him.
Realistic answer is: probably this is a bug
Character based babbling:
Okay so I rotate and chew on Hassian and his relationship with romance and traditional/alternative lifestyles So Much, especially bc he is one of the only characters to actively express jealousy in a world where polyamory is at least partially the norm.
continuing under the cut
To me, a big crucial part of his character that people forget is that he is from an ethnic minority group and he is Not from the culture that Kilima people refer to as "Majiri". We don't yet have a name for his people, but we know they are nomadic, bluer skinned, and have tighter curled hair, for instance. (Majiri I believe is the word for the whole species, but like the Ainu people in japan, I assume that when we're talking about culture, it's about the people whose language coined the word)
we know he's a hopeless romantic lad, and based on his friendship dialogue we know he fantasizes about "a hearth and someone to share it with" which is an adaptation of the majority culture of Majiri. Also within the culture we've seen, marriages and Long-Term relationships seem to be monogamous (booo) (let Eshe marry them both imo)
While pursuing Hassian, his romance quest involves him consulting Chayne for "Traditional Majiri Courtship Customs", which Chayne mentions are obsolete and Kinda Weird to follow, but this to me is, like, Extremely Interesting, because it marks one of the first, clear instances of Hassian putting in the earnest effort to integrate into the majority culture and he starts by doing earnest, wholehearted, misguided research. Because he's never done this before, but respect towards other's cultures is something he cares about a lot. (Because no one else has it for his?)
Hassian's jealousy might stem from the romance novels, normal irl-human emotions, or also a cultural difference that hasn't been addressed.
Majiri instances of romantic jealousy/monogamy we do know of: Delilah + Badruu + M.. Mavil? I can't remember, Eshe + Kenli + his sister, Sifuu (possibly through integration) + "moving on" from Taylin
He's a big stupid boy with a big dumb heart and he WANTS things and very clearly WANTS to be loved, but his tsunder ass has a lot of hurdles that make it hard for him to reach out, especially since integration means an inherent loss of his own ethnic identity as an immigrant into a culture that has been implied to shun his lifestyle.
#replies#palia#palia hassian#I have..... so many emotions about his relationship with culture#NOT a fan of the feather he's got in his concept art but I do think it makes it clear that he is supposed to be a different ethnic group#i didnt proofread this or fact-check so take it as allegorical rather than unbiased interpretations obvi

Giving gifts to Gwyn while supposedly in love with Elain and also feeling a spark in his chest for Gwyn feels a lot like emotional cheating and that's triggering to me because I was cheated on by my first boyfriend.
Therefore I request no e/riel artwork during ElainWeek because of it especially not of her wearing said necklace.
See how that goes? It's very easy to play this game, using our past experiences as a way to police what others can share.
Also, Sarah doesn't need to like Tamlin for others to create Tamlain content, that's literally not how fandom works 😂
Sarah also clearly doesn't like the idea of e/riel either considering she had Rhys (someone she loves) hand Az his ass in the bonus, shutting that shit down like a Spirit Store in December yet that doesn't seem to stop Elain Week from turning into another e/riel week.
Sarah once made people believe in Tamlin and Feyre then later told us Tamlin's behavior wasn't appropriate. It seems clear some are still stuck on e/riel in exactly the way many of us thought Feyre and Tamlin were happy in book 1. They're missing how Sarah spoke of Tamlin being the bad guy after Feyre ended up leaving with Rhys, how she revealed the true issues with his behavior in the book which had Feyre's endgame romantic arc. Therefore trying to claim Az's actions towards Elain and Tamlin's towards Feyre's are different doesn't hold any weight because they're at a different point in their setup, Elain hasn't had her romantic arc book yet. The foundations are identical though. Now that we see the path Tamlin went down in book 2 it's really strange how some miss the similarities with what she's doing with the e/riel ship. Feyre and Tamlin had cute moments until she later showed us how toxic they were together. We didn't notice those issues in ACOTAR but she really delved into them in the book after.
Just because Az will not end up written to be a bad guy like Tamlin doesn't mean he wasn't starting to demonstrate the same behavior towards Elain, something he was in CANON called out for by Rhys and Amren. Sarah halted Az turning into Tamlin by pulling the plug on e/riel on Solstice. She halted Az turning into Tamlin by pulling the plug on Moriel. But we saw her write Az as getting into physical fights (or willing to) over these two females, not giving credit to these two females for what they're capable of, getting into fights with their friends over a female (just like the Tamlin and Lucien situation). Of course Az isn't as bad as Tamlin, but the key word to that is yet. Tamlin's rage caused him to explode a room. Rhys knocked Az from his rage before Az did something he regretted. He was on the exact same path that Tamlin was before his behavior escalated and that's why Sarah introduced a new possible love interest for Az. One we see him finally have a healthy and natural reaction too. One he's not overly fixated on being protective of (a major issue for Az just as it was for Tamlin).
Gwyn doesn't have to change Az, she hasn't even done anything but be herself. Az is just different around her all on his own.
Tamlin with Feyre:
Az, Az with Mor, and Az with Elain:
Az with Gwyn:
Just because Bloomsbury added a number for the Domestic Abuse Hotline it doesn't mean that domestic abuse is the only thing that triggers people while reading these books, we all have different experiences so we view the characters a certain way. (Bloomsbury is not a Board Certified Mental Health Professional, correct?). For some of us we do see Az acting a lot like Tamlin at times and time will tell if Sarah agrees, that she purposely wrote him as coming close to falling victim to the same issues but pulled him back just in time.
Therefore any group claiming their trigger is more valid than someone else's, claiming one trigger is more serious than another, is making themselves more important than the rest and is not an all inclusive group no matter what you're trying to convince yourselves of. To gaslight they'll say we're making light of domestic abuse while in reality they're the ones carelessly using abuse as a way to promote their fictional ship by tearing down others (i.e. Gwyn can't have a kinky sexual relationship because of her SA sending the message that SA survivors can't enjoy certain forms of sex).
Someone is always going to be triggered by something, even if it's something you personally enjoy so who is anyone to elevate themselves to judge and jury?
Shaming an actual person by saying they're gross for liking the idea of something in a make believe world, that they're not welcome because of their "disgusting" fantasy is you creating actual abuse to an actual person versus something that only happened to a make believe character of a make believe species in a make believe world.
And yes, horrible things happen to people in real life but Fantasy Books are not real life therefore your real life morals need not apply.
So basically a good tagging system / Master List would be a good way for all to enjoy without people having to be left out because of someone's trauma.

For the miraculous au
would it not be silly and goofy if when not as superheros and in their like school. normal teenage life. like. yaknow. in canon. jamil has a big (in denial) crush. bc hes ladybug. idk where im going with this
i love your miraculous jamiazu au i think thats the main idea from this ask
using this ask as an excuse to pull out the love square map (i'm actually fucking crazy)
OK SOOOO. so. i was not kidding when i said the love square was different from the show. ive kind of swapped around the dynamics from the original to fit the characters better
everything under a read more so as to not intimidate anyone with how severely ill i am about them
jamil -> azul: in contrast to the mlb canon jamil will NOT have a big ginormous stalker crush on azul. in fact he does not like azul and will often clam up / go quiet around him. will excuse himself from interactions with the other and generally avoid the hell out of him because he thinks the other is so clearly hiding something and he does NOT want to get wrapped up in it
azul -> jamil: think pre-book 4 incident where azul's had an eye on jamil for a very long time. if anything he has the big ginormous stalker crush. but honestly its not full on crush territory (yet) because jamil refuses to talk to him and he hasn't interacted extensively with the other. however does think there is something going on with jamil avoiding him and relentlessly pursues him in response
scarab -> léopard: scarab just instinctively works better with léopard by his side. there's sort of an implicit trust between the both of them that the other is fully capable of whatever they set out to do which is. really nice. and they rely on each other in the heat of battle which is strange because scarab's ego means he often takes a lot of shit on himself under the idea that he's the only one who can do it. but also léopard is just an enigma to him because they'll work so well in battle but out of battle léopard's constant flirting gives scarab a headache... but it's also kind of flattering. in a way. because léopard is constantly Looking for him and shows a lot of interest in who he is as a person which doesn't happen a lot for scarab in his civilian form
léopard -> scarab: léopard is a mercenary which means that he's not partners with scarab. he just happens to "run into" the other "by coincidence" (not coincidence) and you know. he's so benevolent. why not help scarab out with the akuma. he is charmed by how much scarab is NOT like a hero. scarab thinks like a villain and is unafraid to use and manipulate others in order to accomplish his goals. but the end result is perceived as heroic of him. léopard wants him so bad for this it is fucking CRAZY he thinks scarab's capabilities and range are so attractive and will constantly make passes at him whenever they cross paths
jamil -> léopard: from jamil's experiences with léopard as scarab, jamil finds that léopard may actually be tolerable when he's not flirting constantly. jamil's still not keen on letting this guy save him from akumas (because jamil is scarab and by god if léopard ever finds out he saved scarab in civilian form he's going to be so full of himself) but he trusts léopard and is willing to let his snarkier side show, more than he usually does when he's jamil
léopard -> jamil: léopard is ecstatic at the fact that jamil is actually talking to him. yes it might take a whole other secret identity and a leather bodysuit to do so but. you know. a win is a win. uses his position as léopard to pry for more info from jamil, but it's always a push/pull back and forth where jamil seems to tolerate and even occasionally be amused by hus presence but will shut him down once he gets too close. his infatuation with the other in civilian form is fed by these small interactions he has with the other that shows there's more to jamil that meets the eye
azul -> scarab: azul is scarab's biggest supporter. naturally. praises the superhero's diligence and duty to the city loudly and vocally to anybody who will listen, and wants to get scarab involved in his future business ventures. may intentionally put himself in situations where the other will come save him so he can entrap the other into talking with him in civilian form to see if he can get any more clues into scarab's identity. also desperately tries to impress scarab when unable to transform with the skills he learned from being léopard.
scarab -> azul: scarab, drawing off his experiences as jamil, finds azul's persistence a little daunting and definitely a danger to his secret identity. however it's also odd to see a second side to azul pop out when he's trying to impress scarab. almost cute. if he didn't fail so much at it. gets scarab reconsidering his civilian form's thoughts on azul because azul somehow seems Less fake or. worse at being fake whenever jamil is scarab.
#twst#twisted wonderland#jamil viper#azul ashengrotto#jamiazu#azujami#jamil x azul#azul x jamil#ashenviper#jazul#heartscribbles#the public forum#sorry guys im like actually crazy#my friend said that léopard would trap jamil in a game of 20 questions while jamil is frantically trying to get away and transform#and i cant stop thinking about it#jamil liking azul more when he doesnt know its azul is so fucking funny to me#hes like ''ill never trust azul ashengrotto'' and then turns around to team up with literally just azul but in a leather mask and bodysuit#twst mlb au

Do you think there's an in-universe reason why Roy has never really had a serious relationship? He's "dated" (not really), and mostly slept around, but he hasn't had truly serious relationships. Even with Donna—it wasn't like she was his "girlfriend" and he was her "boyfriend". But we see that he's always sleeping around and flirting
Hi, thanks for the ask!
This is a difficult question because I don’t think there is one broad answer. Roy’s had three main romantic relationships- Jade, Donna, and Kendra- and all of them fell apart for different reasons. Jade and Kendra are the most self-explanatory in my opinion; Jade and Roy have never reached a point where they’d be able to sustain a relationship together, and him and Kendra were just a mess. Since Donna is his most consistent love interest, I’m gonna use them as a main reference.
Donna and Roy were obviously very young the first time they got together, it was very much “puppy love”, which I think was a big part of what made their relationship in Titans 1999 both happen and fail. However, it’s pretty clear that Roy did genuinely love her. How canon this scene is is highly debatable considering it’s from an issue that is very OOC, but I think it does have some merit in this context as a demonstration of Roy’s commitment to their relationship.
And when they’re together later, it’s once again clear that Roy was expecting a serious relationship with Donna through his upset that Donna wasn’t expecting that.
This came about at a very bad time, and their relationship was only really so Donna could feel more grounded amongst her rampant identity issues, which she later admits to
I don’t think it’s an issue of commitment issues on Roy’s part- on the contrary I think he’s a very committed person, despite what some people believe, which can lead to him entering or staying in relationships that aren’t necessarily healthy (while he did break up with Kendra after she said Carter’s name in bed, there were issues in their relationship prior to that that he was willing to ignore). I think the issue is Roy can tend to ignore problems at the beginning of relationships that then later escalate to much larger ones- the biggest example of this being, obviously, with Donna in Titans 1999 and with Kendra- which inevitably results in the relationships failing.

The Boy Who Leapt Through Time AU
(read from right to left)
Well, it's been a minute, hasn't it ? And by a minute I mean uhhhh A Long Time I've said many times I'm going to see this project to the end, and I meant it, even if life sometimes gets in the way. It will just take the time it will need As for today's part, we're finally seeing some Shi-woo again ! Hurray ! Finally a real adult in this house ! The logistics of existing legally in a world where another version of you is currently 6 years old... 's not easy, even when you have a pro helping you out Especially when your name is uh. Pretty unique ? Yeah, we'll go with unique. Anyway yeah Yuuta needed a new spelling for his first name, stat, and I decided to make up some lore surrounding that too (Seriously, I know the reason he's named depressed guy is because mangakas love their meaningful names, but like. In-universe ? His parents better have a Good Fucking Reasoning) The new last name I chose for him, 山本 (Yamamoto) literally translates to "the base of the mountain" and is a pretty common last name in Japan. I picked it as a double reference to Yuuta being from Aomori in my personal canon, and Rika's last name of Orimoto (祈本) - obviously calling himself Orimoto would be too on the nose, and I think the least ties he has to his old identity, the easier it will be to fake documents in the future Oh yeah, also my boy canonically looks like shit in photos lmao
(This image came from promotional movie material iirc, but even the glimpse we see of his student ID in the vol. 0 manga is just. Pitiful. Pathetic boy. I love him so much)

Sonic Movie Universe prediction: Robotnik is an orphan because of GUN
I think what was supposed to be, tonally, a silly throwaway line is actually winding up to punch us in the face later.
Bear with me.
I barely remember the first movie since it was so long since I watched it, but aside from one, maybe two, of the comic universes, this line is the first time we have ever gotten anything at all about Ivo Robotnik's personal backstory. And it's that he's an orphan. In a story series that explicitly sets him up with a human identity- none of that Eggman stuff as his identity, not even a whisper of the name until it's a silly insult Sonic throws out later- this movie bothers to give him a Normal Human Society Firstname Lastname and a job.
(Okay, so Robotnik isn't exactly a normal human surname. But it's established canon that is the family name so. Suspension of disbelief.)
A series that we know will later delve, at least a little, into the story of Professor Gerald Robotnik WHO IVO APPARENTLY, ACTUALLY, DEFINITELY KNEW IN THIS CONTINUITY, AS HE HAS A SPECIFIC GRANDPA NAME FOR HIM AND NEARLY CRIES.
The original line was a ridiculous rebuttal to Tom during the fight in the house during the first movie. "Rub that in my orphan face," he says in response to Tom sharing a detail of his childhood during Silly Action Scene Banter. While there is a sort of tension there since the movie universe makes no bones about Sonic being an actual child and he is confirmed to be an alien, thus making the danger present of government capture and experimentation very real and kind of horrific, the scene as it plays out isn't overly out of character for something you'd expect in a Sonic movie. And although Robotnik is the threat here, he plays a large part in also keeping the scene lighthearted because of how utterly he fails to respond like a normal human being to literally anything. The comment about being an orphan at least makes sense based on what Tom said, but it's still weirdly personal and, therefore, kind of inappropriate to say. Like dude back up you're trying to kill a child why are you sharing your trauma with me that's uncomfortable.
Which brings me to the obvious point of that line- it's not just to make the scene funny, it's to show us how set apart from other humans Robotnik is. This is a man who has no idea how to interact with anyone, like, absolutely nobody, and every single scene he's in reminds us of this, including this one.
Now that the third movie has explicitly drawn a line between Shadow's backstory and themes of pain and loss, and we see Gerald Robotnik weeping over what I think is Maria's body in the aftermath of the murder (jesus that's dark) I have to connect a few dots of my own.
The first movie had another piece of foreshadowing they threw at us, this one way more obvious: at the end of the first movie, a government agent is sent to speak with the Wachowski couple. He tells them that Ivo Robotnik has been thoroughly erased from existence. As far as any documentation of him ever existing on Planet Earth, there is none. He hasn't merely disappeared- it's like he never was.
If they did this to Ivo after this catastrophe it's not a stretch to think they did the same with Professor Gerald. Hell, I thought that after movie number one. "That has to come up later- we have a character the government explicitly turns on in this series. Like, as a major plot point. The defining moment in several characters' stories. No way does their ability to erase someone not come up later."
But now I think they went a step further.
They've already murdered a little girl and broken an old man in their efforts to contain the genius they were frightened of.
Personally, I don't think it's a stretch to think that Ivo Robotnik, very young himself at the time most likely, is an orphan because GUN decided to eradicate the entire family line in an effort to prevent anyone like Gerald Robotnik from ever existing again.
Except. The son survived. Well shit. Uh. Stick him in an orphanage and keep an eye on him, I guess.
And where does he end up as a adult? A branch of the government. Where they can keep an eye on him.
(More than that, if they did erase Gerald, Ivo clearly remembers him... so Ivo may have joined them specifically to look for traces of the grandfather he knows existed and who doesn't seem to have any records proving that whatsoever. But that's Ivo's motivations and we're talking about GUN's, so, moving on.)
It's likely based on his sheer intellect, assuming Ivo wasn't embellishing too heavily, that he didn't have to grow for very long before that brilliance was obvious. Though the government's decision to let him live was strategic, weighing the gamble of assassination with the gamble of him inheriting the genius and deciding that risking him having the same genius as his grandfather was better than trying to kill him at this point, the gambit ultimately failed. Even though he was more than likely still only a child, they'd let him live too long. In just a few short years he quickly became a very real threat to the government- as in, if given a reason, he could be a very real threat. And nothing Ivo does is ever subtle or quiet, so his genius was probably very loud, and there was likely lots of attention, making an assassination impossible, because if there would be too many questions before, there would be an insurmountable amount if he died or disappeared now.
So, since they couldn't kill him, they continued to keep an eye on him and took him on at the government when he was old enough with the intention of keeping their enemies closer. Except all of their caution still wasn't enough and he went rogue the first time he was presented with the opportunity to grab at power they didn't already have, power capable of things beyond their wildest imaginations- a monster of their own making.
Ivo, who never asked for what happened to him, very likely a victim of circumstances he had no hope of ever controlling, who responded to this trauma by making his choice that power mattered more than anything- more than morals, more than hurting people who are just like he was once. That shaping his own world after all the horrors he planned to do in pursuit of that may finally, finally "be enough."
(Be enough for what, exactly, Ivo. You never did explain that. "Who knows? Maybe that will be enough." Elaborate.)
Whether he knew the truth about why he had suffered or not, Robotnik made his choices. He stood at that crossroads that demanded he make a choice about what kind of person he was going to be in the face of all the pain and loss, and he made his choice. This movie is about Shadow making his.
If this movie really wants to beat us all to death it won't just draw comparisons between Sonic and Shadow, but Shadow and Ivo Robotnik.
(If this movie wants to exorcize our souls after we're dead, if it intends to be a trilogy and not make more movies in following the original vision for Sonic Adventure 2, it'll place Ivo at a new crossroads, and this time, he'll make a different choice.)
(Especially since Professor Gerald, in a much worse state of madness and malice than Ivo, who the movie is setting up specifically as someone Ivo loves, admires, and almost certainly misses, probably won't.)
#sonic the hedgehog#sonic the hedgehog 3#shadow the hedgehog#ivo robotnik#robotnik#sonic movie universe#personally i doubt they'll end the series here since it makes so much money#and given the quality of writing so far and the amount of source material i actually WOULD trust them with that decision#but if they DO decide to end it here...#rehabilitating ivo after drawing that comparison between him and shadow would be a helluva way to do it#especially since there's no way gerald however he actually exists in this world will make the better choice#it's like explicitly a plot point that he doesn't#unless homeboy played pokemon violet and went WHAT A FANTASTIC IDEA#and it's this android copy or clone who goes wait this is insane and evil actually and tries to stop it#then there won't be any intervention from the gerald we see in the trailer to stop the coming apocalypse#because like... he explicitly wants it- there's no iconic final battle scene without that#there is no meeting of the minds between all the other involved living characters without that crisis joining them together#and it's precisely that crisis + other shit i expect will happen to him in the movie that might make ivo decide to change his life#keyword there is MIGHT again we'll see#if they want more movies then rehabilitating him now is a poor choice so TIME TO STRAP IN AND WAIT

Seriously, the lack of long-term thought/planning being put into the verdicts of characters is so impressive to me.
I can't understand how people aren't concerned about how voting Amane Guilty with no consideration for her circumstances or sin is going to impact Mikoto's trial. Mikoto, the character who canonically has Dissociative Identity Disorder, something that not only forms in childhood due to abuse but through going undiagnosed can lead to recurring abuse throughout one's life.
Amane possibly being Guilty/Unforgiven showcases that it does not matter how bad the prisoners' circumstances may get within the prison or how bad they were outside of it. It showcases that certain individuals are undeserving of safety and peace of mind as long as enough people just dislike them. It showcases how children who do not fit societal norms are adultified and treated as threats for not fitting those norms.
Something that will definitely negatively impact Mikoto because despite being older than Amane, they have been heavily implied to have a great deal in common through the source material. From what we've been shown of Mikoto trial two so far it seems he will be trying to make an emotional appeal of sorts in his voice drama.
Coming directly off the heels of the beginning of Amane's trial, where people have displayed a great lack of compassion, doesn't bode well for that tactic. Especially since a good deal of people already hold disdain towards his character for just existing in a way they find distasteful. These things only serve to make me feel my concerns around this are valid.
Outside of that, I just believe it's unfair for certain adults within Milgram to continue to be infantalized and coddled to the extent that they have been while the only prisoner to be taken to course and interrogated for their behavior fully is the youngest individual here. It's even more unfair for the prisoners who come after her to have their trials after such a precedent has been set.
A precedent that firmly states ones circumstances can be disregarded when taking into consideration their sin or even worse the sin can be disregarded entirely in favor of only looking at the harm they can cause in the prison presently. That isn't fair to any of the characters who are still on trial or about to be. Simply because it wasn't considered when it came to any of the characters on trial before them.
Every prisoner in here is a threat to someone, and some have voiced their dislike for other prisoners, specifically just like Amane has. Yet that wasn't used to say they were any less or more forgivable. Nobody said, "Oh no, if we vote, Yuno Innocent, she's going to attack Haruka and Mu." Despite the fact she blatantly admitted in her second written interrogation, the two were beginning to annoy her.
Or said anything similar about Futa and Shidou, who voiced their disdain for Kotoko after what she did. To be fair, people speculated those things I know I did. However, that information wasn't manipulated and weaponized to the extent it is being here.
So, yeah, I still think it's unfair for those things to suddenly be used against Amane when they didn't matter as much before. It's even sillier when you take into consideration that anyone in Milgram can attack anybody for any reason during the intermission as long as they can still move, which everyone else would be able to.
However, we've been expressly told that Mikoto's other personality will be restrained if they continue to be a problem, which they more than likely would be if voted guilty again. Having this stated implies prisoners who are voted guilty twice may be restrained more.
This is something concerning when it comes to Amane's case for me. Because there's a guy in here that specifically kills kids for attention. If everybody else hasn't fucking forgot. I thought it'd be a difficult thing to forget given the fact that he bragged about being able to kill anything smaller than him in his second voice drama.
Then, specifically stated through the lyrics of his second song-
"I will keep on killing to be your good boy. I can't stop, I can't stop- Am I still INNOCENT?"
Along with other lines such as,
"I will definitely make you love me again. I wasn't wrong, I wasn't wrong- Please don't say I'm a loser. Hug me again as you once did."
So, while those voting Amane Guilty are concerning themselves with Shidou's very secure fucking safety because he has one of the strongest people here guarding him around the fucking clock. I'm worried about the safety of the isolated child that's only been checked in on by Futa and Yuno.
Not even just because of Haruka's history either. Because again, if people have forgotten, Kotoko has stated she does not go easy on children before.
20/06/18
Amane: Thank you very much for teaching me. ……but, though I realise it’s strange me saying this after I asked you, I must admit it’s kind of unexpected. You give off the impression of someone who wouldn’t want to get involved in things like this.
Kotoko: ……well, you’re not wrong. I’m surrounded by people who could all be murderers, so I don’t plan on going out of my way to talk and make friends. I can’t let my guard down. But I like ambitious people like you. If you want to study more, then I’m happy to teach.
Amane: I see…… You look scary at first impression, but I quite like the way you treat everyone equally regardless of whether they’re older or younger than you. You don’t just treat me like a child or anything like that.
Kotoko: Treat you like a child? Hah, you’ve got to be kidding. Back when I was your age, I was already the person I am today. I don’t have any plans to let you get away with something just “because you’re a child.” ……remember that.
There, I’ve finished marking. 83%.
How do I put it… Even though you act like this, it’s not like you’re super brilliant at studying or anything, huh.
So, no, I'm not voting in favor of possibly restraining the child with these two walking about very free. That's wild. Haruka is doing nothing to hide the fact that he kills kids. He threatened Es in his second voice drama before threatening to harm himself. Kotoko has expressly said from the beginning that she has no plans to let Amane get away with anything just because she's a child and expressly told her to remember that.
Yet, most are still concerned with the safety of these fucking adults. I'm concerned with Amane and Mikoto having the ability to defend themselves in the case they get attacked. Because no one else is going to help, as has been illustrated well by Mikoto's birthday this year and Amane's last year.
22/06/27 (Amane’s Birthday)
Kazui: What’s up, Shidou-kun? You’re looking pretty down. I guess you must be tired, I’ve been relying on you a lot lately.
Shidou: Yeah, I just remembered…… today is Amane’s birthday. I’m just getting a bit sentimental.
Kazui: Hmm, it’s unfortunate, but at the moment we can’t worry about that. ……you understand, right? There’s something that you need to do right now. And if you tried talking to her your words definitely won’t reach her. Don’t look at me like that. We’ll just wait until the situation changes. Let’s do our best.
Shidou: Yeah. I’ll do what I can. I can’t have a child making a face like that. Even though we’re “murderers”…… we’re also the adults here.
Shidou has done nothing to hide the fact that he still has more important things to concern himself with than Amane's safety. Something the rest of the cast has shown as well except for Futa, who has interacted with her and tried to check in on the younger prisoners the most this trial.
But no, apparently, these other adult murderers are just at such an unfair disadvantage against these two specifically.

I'm sorry you're getting clown ass anons but i simply must say that you are so based. on all of this. Like the "Um actually it's fine to stop a character who had a whole arc about how they're aroace and don't want relationships because of the yaoi that i made up." is so... Well it's a sad world we're living in, truly, but it's nice and quite vindicating to see your good takes on the matter!
Haha thanks man. As an aro person myself, it can be extremely irritating when most of a fandom is shipping, and normally d20 fans are pretty okay at talking about the story mostly, having shipping only come up when there's romance in the story. This is just one case where people are ignoring a huge part of riz's character, something that isn't super commonly explored in stories, a character who really just doesn't want relationships. It feels really invalidating to put an aroace person in your neat little romantic relationship. And again, I can't stop people and it wasn't that much of an issue until people started directly talking To Me trying to justify shipping him. I'm not gonna change my mind, so there's really no point. It's pretty disrespectful, even though he's just a character, there are real life aro people who see the way his identity is erased and purposefully ignored for Another ship. The way I see it, a lot of people agree that it would be wrong to ship Kristen, a canon lesbian, with a man. To me, riz and his aroace identity is just as important, even if murph hasn't looked down the camera and said "riz gukgak is asexual and aromantic". He might never explicitly use labels, but he shouldn't HAVE to. Riz said "I don't feel the same urges as my friends and I lied about dating someone so there wouldn't be any questions to why I'm not getting in a relationship with anyone". It's pretty damn clear.
Anyway yes, thank you for the ask

Let Me Patch You Up
Summary: Getting your partner to sit still and let himself be taken care of has always been a challenge.
Pairing: Din Djarin x fem!Reader
Warnings: Mentions of canon-typical violence, mild blood/injury, Din tries to hide his wounds because of course he would. Lots of fluff, sensuality, and hella implied smut at the end.
Because I adore patching-up fics :) Especially when one person is far too stubborn for their own good and the other is a caretaker type. 'Nuff said.
*Translations of less common words/phrases in Mando'a at the end
"I'm not mad!"
You can hear the sigh behind you, longer and heavier than a New Republic frigate.
"You sound mad."
"All I'm saying is they should've paid double for the extra abuse! Their intel was way off." You scowl and rattle the pouch of currency for emphasis. "I didn't sign up for this job to fistfight an Aqualish, Din. An Aqualish!"
"You came out alright." There's a layer of warmth there now, sunk deep under the weariness. "Wish I could have seen more of it."
"I'll tell the Kid the story later, I'm sure." You gaze down at the dark bruising creatively decorating your arms and midsection with a wince. "Good thing I'm not vain anymore."
"Makes you look tough." His tone is clipped as he leans on the switch to pull up the boarding ramp of the ship. You can imagine his jaw clenching beneath the helmet; for all his beskar, he must be pretty roughed up, too. Aqualish may be brutal, but at least they're still flesh and blood.
Enforcer droids don't suffer from such weaknesses as pain and fatigue.
"How're you holding up, Cyare?" You keep the query casual -- he hates being fussed over.
You've learned from many previous jobs that your partner, when injured, has to be handled as cautiously and cleverly as a twitchy Blurrg; he's just as liable as one to bolt or take a bite out of an unguarded hand.
"Fine." He turns to make for the cockpit, tries to disguise the fact that he's still leaning on the wall for support under the pretense of examining the internal wiring. "Wind knocked out of me. Some sleep and I'll be in top form again."
He pauses at the foot of the ladder and gazes upward, the distance to the pilot's chair suddenly seeming excruciatingly long. As he ponders the best way to proceed, his dexterous fingers absently seek out the end of the small blade buried in his left shoulder, and yank it out.
No sound leaves his lips, he's far too conditioned for that, but he can't hide from you forever.
"Din?"
"Hmm?" He's still studying the length of the ladder.
"Dank farrik, Cyare, you're bleeding." Now truly concerned, you throw your subterfuge out the window and reach for his arm. Sometimes even a wild Blurrg just has to be wrangled into submission after all. "I'm going to fix you up, Din, and you're going to behave for me while I do."
"But I can still --"
"No."
"But you're --"
"No."
"What if --"
"Stop protesting, Di'kut! I won't have you collapsing on me if I could have done something about it." You push him down -- somewhat gently -- onto a cargo crate in the hold, stepping down on the edge of his cape as you search for the medkit.
He glances down at your firmly planted boot, up at your serious face. "Really?" he asks dryly.
"I'm not taking any chances with you, my love," you inform him sweetly, reaching around his body to press the releases on his cuirass and pauldrons. "You have this unfortunate habit of disappearing to lick your wounds in solitude whenever I take my eyes off of you for a moment."
"It's worked this long, hasn't it?" he mutters gruffly, but he knows well enough by now to not protest and aid you in removing his vambraces and finally his shirt.
It steals your breath for a brief second as it always does, the sight of him half-undressed but with his identity still shrouded from you.
Mesmerizing.
Alluring.
A tantalizing mystery that one day you desire to fully uncover.
But you know now is not the time.
Your rapidly heating thoughts are interrupted by a squeal from Grogu as he shuffles across the floor to stand by your legs. His tiny clawed hands grip your calf as wide, frightened eyes absorb the canvas of smeared blood and old scars spread across the Mandalorian's broad chest.
"Hey, Kid," Din says softly.
"Your buir is okay," you tell the little one, lifting him up to set him on the crate beside his father. "Maybe you can make him stay put for me."
Din insists he's not too badly off to help you, and you know he's still not comfortable being completely at the mercy of someone else's hands, so you let him handle the smaller task of cleaning up his stab wounds while you cauterize them. You still remember the first time you watched him do it himself, how you hated the way he hissed and spat in pain every time the tool slipped or stuck on lacerations that were awkward for him to reach.
He'd never admit so aloud, but with your more delicate touch behind it, it's a fair sight less painful of a process than it used to be.
"Still think I shouldn't have knocked them around until they coughed up more pay?" You let your fingertips skate gently over the taut bronze skin before you, checking for any sign of tenderness that could indicate an internal injury.
"You hungry for more bruises?" He shakes his head. "I know I'm not. We got what we came for. Sometimes renegotiating is pointless, Cyar'ika."
"I guess." You're kneeling on the floor now, his broad thighs on either side of your body as you finish closing up a slash to his abdomen, its rough line trailing down to his belt. Your hand tenderly follows the new scar, drifting over textured skin.
His muscles harden abruptly beneath your light touch, and it makes you smirk. He's always been a little ticklish there; it's an unspoken weak spot of his.
"What's really got you so worked up?"
Even exhausted he's still as sharp as ever.
You let out a long breath. "When are you going to stop trying to hide from me when you're hurt?"
That surprises him. "I don't...."
"Don't deny it. You tried to fly this heap of scrap with a knife embedded in you, Din."
"I would have taken care of it sooner or later."
"Probably later!"
He's staring, helplessly trying to figure out why his habits have disturbed you so deeply. "I haven't died yet," he points out in a monotone that would be hilarious under different circumstances.
You lean into his midsection, cheek resting against his ribcage. The familiar scent of sweat and slight charring from the cauterizer calms you, bringing with it delicious memories of sleepless nights and long, hot showers. Your choppy breaths even out as you search for the best words to express what you want to tell him, and your hands massage into his lower back, drawing a sound halfway between a sigh and a groan from him as aching muscles finally loosen to your persistent kneading.
"You're the closest thing I have left to aliit," you murmur at last, catching a shiver from him at the movement of your lips against his chest.
Still so sensitive to touch.
"As you are alor of our little clan, I would follow your way in all matters." You lift your eyes to meet that gleaming ebony visor, seeing the forward tilt to his helmet that means he's truly listening to everything you say, not merely hearing.
"Yet as the one I would consider my riduur, in soul if not by ceremony, you must know that even my respect for you is overridden by my own selfishness. I can't let you be careless with your life, ner'kar'ta. Even a beroya needs a cabur sometimes."
His hands, finally ungloved, slowly drift up to cradle your face, roughened fingers burying themselves in your hair. "I...will try, Mesh'la. Understand this is all still strange to me. But I do not want to cause you pain. Or be a burden on your worries. I will fall back into old habits some days, so I just ask your patience."
Relief wells up within you, and you all but let yourself fall into his lap. "Thank you. I don't know what I would do if you ever --"
"K'uur, ner'cyare." He shushes you and leans back against the stack of crates behind him, taking care not to crush Grogu who has been playing with his cast-off armor. "No more of this talk. I just want your touch for a moment. Gedet'ye."
Lying half on top of his reclined body, you exhale, telling those stubborn thoughts to let go of you for now. There will always be time for fear. The times in between hardships and fears are the rare ones, these sparse moments when you and your Mandalorian are gifted with a small respite from the inherent challenges of your lifestyle. These blessed breaths in which all that exists before you is the little aliit you have formed together, and his warm skin beneath your palms, and his heart beating beside your ear.
"Like this?" you hum, pressing your lips to the center of his chest, taking in the cherished taste of him, tracing the story of his life from the faded scars beneath your kiss.
"Jate?"
There's a shudder in the answering breath that rasps through his vocoder. "Jatne," he confirms, fingertips digging into your shoulder blades.
You keep kissing him, losing yourself in his deadly, battered body, and the way that his caresses answer your searching mouth.
As you push forward to go for his throat, however, you suddenly find his powerful legs pinning you in your place, holding you back from the kill.
"What -- ?"
"Hold, Cyar'ika," he grits out between his teeth. "No more."
You stop struggling against the iron hold of his legs. "Oh! Am I hurting you?"
"...No...." He jerks his head meaningfully in the direction of the Kid, who is still playing among the boxes. "But you can't tease me like this with him in the room. That's VERY unfair of you."
Catching on, you smirk and pull back out of his grip, not missing the way he almost thinks about not letting you go so easily. "Who said I was teasing?"
He huffs. "Then we really need to stop. Poor Kid's been traumatized enough in his life." A calculating look passes over the visor, sliding from you over to Grogu and back again. "Though I might be able to get him down for a nap."
You push him all the way down and straighten up, lifting the Kid in your hands. "Better let me, then. He gets clingier when he can tell you're impatient." You nudge his leg with your knee as you leave the hold, ignoring his disapproving stare.
"Besides, you need to cool down there for a bit, Djarin."
He knows you're flirting hard when you use that name for him. And it's just a tiny bit cruel of you to leave him all alone like that, simmering in his thwarted frustration.
Half an hour later, your small charge finally dozing off, you let yourself into Din's cramped quarters, realizing only too late that you've walked right into a trap. It's dark as the belly of a sarlacc in here, and you're pinned between a wall and a heavily breathing Mandalorian before you can even react.
"You're late, Mesh'la," he growls close to your ear, his scruff scraping your cheek. "And you know I get...restless...when I'm kept waiting."
"Oh trust me, I do." You melt into his trapping embrace as his mouth starts to blaze a trail across your flesh; inhibited by his creed in the light, Din more than makes up for his inability to reciprocate once the lights have gone out and all bets are off. "But be gentle, Cyare."
"A little Loth-cat once told me she likes it rough."
There -- the tempting threat of teeth skimming the base of your throat. You can't keep yourself from trembling slightly with anticipation.
"Just don't reopen any of your wounds, Din, I'm serious."
"To hell with that." A couple skillful maneuvers and you're laid out on his bed, still locked in his arms. "Now, are you ready to finish what you started back there?"
"Dank farrik."
You smirk at his sighed expletive, pulling him in closer until you can feel the softness of his damp curls falling across your chest.
"Now remember, you can't complain about being stiff tomorrow," you chide through a kiss to the top of his head. "I tried to tell you to take it easy."
He shrugs. "I've lived through worse. And it was worth it."
"Mmhmm. I definitely won't deny that." You stretch out your own depleted limbs, sure that the tapestry of bruising will look worse come morning. But he's right. Times like this make all of it worth it, the moments in which he is not Mando'ade and you are not dar'manda, but simply two people alone in a brutal galaxy, who love each other deeply and don't get to tell the other as often as they deserve to hear it. When it's just you and your beroya in the dark, relying on skin brushing skin to see and wordless exclamations of love to take the place of eloquent poetry, all of the struggles are worth it.
This life and its pitfalls are never easy, but you have him, and he is what matters.
"What are you smiling about?" you murmur, as his full lips break into a rare grin against your chest.
"Only that maybe it would perhaps benefit me to come to you more often when I'm injured." His voice is silky, deceptively innocent as a hand strokes its way upward to find your jawline.
"After all," and he leans into a chaste Keldabe kiss even as his touch once again turns suggestive, "I can tell you, none of my solitary patch-ups ever ended with anything like this."
You arch into him and claim his lips with your own, smiling into his mouth.
"Then you can consider this possible incentive for the future, Djarin."

OC INTERVIEW: Vincent "V" Ezaki
Tagged by: @pinkyjulien @chevvy-yates @wraithsoutlaws and @v-eats-bugs thank you so much!!! <3
I'm gonna steal the idea some of you had and let him answer in character, but I'm gonna put some more context (and/or the truth xD) after Vince's reply where I see fit!
Tagging everyone who sees this and hasn't been tagged yet :3c I think most of you have done this at this point, but do please tag me if you do, I wanna read about your blorbos!!
■ NICKNAME ■ "Just 'V'."
100% going with the "only people that know me really well can use my real name" canon, because I love that scene and moment so much (and the lil nod to it again in the Tower Ending with Johnny ;_;). In my hc, Jackie gave him the nickname "V" on the day they met. Up until then he had always insisted on the full "Vincent" with everyone, and Jackie was the one to urge him to be careful with whom he shares his full identity. Meanwhile it's the other way around and "Vincent" is reserved for friends only... and "Vince" exclusively for Kerry really xD
■ GENDER ■ "Could say I'm a self-made man." ;)
This highly depends on who is asking the question here, if it's a very casual setting he'd say the above, if it's something to go into a screamsheet or whatnot he'd be more like "well, take a wild fuckin' guess" or just "male". He doesn't hide the fact he's trans, and he's proud of his journey and identity, but it's still not something he'd want to publically discuss with strangers without anything to gain from it.
■ STAR SIGN ■ "Gemini I think, but I gotta say, astrology isn't exactly something I have deep knowledge or opinions about."
He celebrates his birthday June 10th, but his real birthday in in September, so he's actually a Libra xD
■ HEIGHT ■ "5'6."
■ ORIENTATION ■ "Sorry ladies." ;)
Again, highly contextual on who is asking, and depending on that his answer might be more evasive or he'd just decline to answer. The less details about his private life are in the public's eye the better. But if the context is a fun night out with friends and he feels safe, he'd definitely give a more cheeky response and, to not get anyone's hopes up, just straightforward let them know he's gay.
■ NATIONALITY/ETHNICITY■ "Born and raised in Night City and a proud citizen ever since."
He doesn't talk about his family because he's cut ties with them long ago. His mother, Marcella, was also from Night City, your average NUS citizen with mixed European heritage. His father, Kousuke, was Japanese. He and Vince's mother met through work for a certain corporation that wasn't necessarily welcome in NC at the time (but I bet my ass still very much present in one way or another).
■ FAVE FRUIT ■ "When I was a kid, I once had daifuku with real, straight-from-the-ground strawberries. Somewhere way out there on the Japanese countryside, couldn't tell you where exactly anymore. Still got no idea where they even got the strawberries from, but no RealFruit ever matched those."
■ FAVE SEASON ■ "Don't think I have a real preference here, 'specially cause Night City's warm all year round. I like it that way. Could do with less sandstorms though. I like it when it rains now and then, the steam on the asphalt, everything is just... quieter, in a way."
■ FAVE FLOWER ■ "One made from plastic."
Vince doesn't have a green thumb and no mind to care for plants either. He's far from an outdoorsy, nature-loving person XD Do not gift him flowers, he will not know what to do with them. That being said though: he has two big stylized lotus flowers tattooed. The first one he got shortly before he left his home, when he began his transition. The second after his top surgery, when he already worked for Arasaka, as a reminder to stay true to himself on the inside, especially whenever he couldn't outwardly. He just likes the lotus aesthetically, the shapes and symmetry, and that it symbolizes rebirth and transformation.
■ FAVE SCENT ■ "Clean bedsheets and freshly brewed green tea."
And the odd mix of Kerry's overpriced bodywash and favourite cigarettes XD
■ COFFEE, TEA, HOT CHOCOLATE ■ "Yes, in that order please. Coffee with milk and sugar, tea is fine just plain, green or black."
He's definitely more of a coffee than a tea drinker, and whatever it is, it's gotta be a little fancy xD Vince is the kind of person with a long-ass signature order at the coffee shop, and I 100% see him loving bubble tea in any combination and variation in existence. The only time he drinks his coffee black is when he accidentally orders "the same as him" in a moment of distraction at Caliente's with Kerry. But tea he occasionally likes just plain, but then it has to be high quality organic real tea leaves. Hot chocolate is a nice special treat, too.
■ AVERAGE HOURS OF SLEEP ■ "Even in my line of work a regular sleep schedule is possible - and necessary, to stay sharp. I try to get my 7 hours of sleep in."
The somewhat regular sleep schedule is really something he values and tries to stick to, although the Relic and Johnny's presence really mess it up for a long while. But especially because his lack of sleep while working at Arasaka contributed to him developing a drug addiction to cope with the stress and sleep-deprivation it's something he doesn't want to fall back into.
■ DOG OR CAT PERSON ■ "Defintiely cats."
■ DREAM TRIP ■ "I'd like to return to Japan one day for a short vacation - see if I can find that daifuku shop again, haha. Would also love to visit Europe more extensively than what I've seen of it so far. And, who knows, maybe the Crystal Palace one day."
And the Phillipines with Kerry <3
■ FAVE FICTIONAL CHARACTER ■ "Ooohhh, that's a hard question, let me think for a moment... [insert long analysis of different movie and video game characters and why they're good or bad and why he likes them or not]"
Evading this a little bit because I don't wanna dive into a rabbit hole of seeing what canonical fictional characters there are and why Vince might like them or not xD He is a big nerd and a gamer and knows so much more than I do XD Also, he'd 100% be the kind of person who's rooting for the evil guys, because often their motivations and goals are much more complex and interesting than the "hero's" in his eyes xD and he's fascinated by the concept that they're doomed to lose by the narrative usually (because the good guys usually win), but still fight tooth and nail to achieve their goals and safe their own skin. He can relate to that a lot more than the selfless goodie-two-shoes who just want to save the world and make it a better place.
■ NUMBER OF BLANKETS THEY SLEEP WITH ■ "In this weather one is more than enough. Sometimes none is better."
■ RANDOM FACT ■ "It takes around 7 seconds for someone to form a solid first impression of you in a face-to-face conversation. It takes my Kiroshis' scanners half as long to additionally supply me with all the data on you I need to permanently ruin your life for good."
