The Other Half of My Soul by RedMetalWitch (It took a few months to convince myself to read this as I wasn't quite sure on how absolved of his sins/darkness Anakin would be--my greatest fear unless i'm in a particular once a year sort of mood is a uwu darth vader--but i absolutely adore this fic. i don't know who isn't already following it, but worth the read!)

Shutting the eye of reason by anonymous (another guilty pleasure fic, where anakin is extremely jealous of qui-gon for taking up all of his master's time, and decides to do something about it. mainly by seducing him.)

Ok, for some reason, I read that as Tomura & Hawks, so now I have the imagine of Toya "my dad is awesome!", Hawks "cryptkid" in the corner, & tiny Tenko who wants to know where his sister is.

ya know what let's just yeet half the group into being children based on what I think is funniest/most heartbreaking so I'm tossing Himiko and Kurogiri in there too

Dabi/Toya - 100% convinced that he's been kidnapped by the villains for being Endeavor's kid. Tries to fistfight them(fails). Boasts about how they're soooo in trouble because any second his dad's gonna bust down the door to save him and kick their asses. Nothing the others do can convince him he's a de-aged Villain. This is funniest if it happens pre-identity reveal so everyone gets slammed with the knowledge of 'Toya Todoroki' immediately

Hawks/Keigo - Kinda scared but being brave about it. Assumes his parents finally got tired of dealing with him and yeeted him at his dad's 'business associates'. Calm because he's not being mistreated, but very untrusting. Hides a lot and just watches. Minor panic attack because he doesn't have his emotional support plushie. Interested in Toya because he heard that 'Endeavor's kid' thing and is having a spark of hope at being saved. Doesn't know what to believe re: de-aged Hero thing.

Tomura/Tenko - very scared and shy and confused. Crybaby wants to go home. No one knows how to answer when he asks about his family. Everyone's also confused at his hair and eye color shifting. Can be lured out with videogames. Is confused when told he's a de-aged Villain because he likes Heroes and can't imagine what would make him be a Villain.

Himiko - at the age where she's just starting to mask her personality so she's swinging between things. Trying to be 'normal' which to them reads as very depressed because her smiles are small and fake. She gets spooked and bites someone but immediately cries about it and apologizes while repeating things her parents said. Mixed feelings on being told that it's okay because that's not what mom and dad say. Believes it when told she's a de-aged villain because clearly her parents were right about her(she's crying again)

Kurogiri/Oboro - He's confused and spooked. Everyone else is confused because Oboro looks nothing like Kurogiri/his Quirk is so different but clearly that has to be him, right? Is still very protective of the other kiddos because that's just his nature, but is the most well-adjusted kid here so he can be distracted/befriended despite perciecved 'danger'. Skeptical of being told he's a de-aged Villain because he can't imagine himself ever doing that, and no one can give him answers about why he'd do it.

[Trying to think of names for this AU. So far, have the "serious" (unStolen Innocence) & the "funny" (LoV Babies, play on Muppet Babies).] They all turn back at different times. Borogiri is first, he's only deaged a week or so. Hawks & Toya take longer, couple weeks to a month, with Himiko a little longer than that. Tenko takes the longest to go back to normal (& when he does, do you think he'd look different? Or is right back physically to where he was when he was hit by the Quirk?)

See now I'm imagining it's some sort of 'heal your inner child' Quirk. Like some therapist has a Quirk that lets people de-age so they can kinda confront their shitty childhoods/re-experience something 'better'. It's supposed to be in short sessions in their office but the therapist happened to be in a store the group decided to do a 'grocery run' on and whoops Quirk went off and blasted half of them and the villains booked it before said therapist could explain or undo the effects.

So yeah the reason they're at the ages they're at is because it's either before the trauma starts/when it's just starting.

Kurogiri only dropped down to a teenager because Oboro's childhood was actually pretty much perfectly fine he only got major trauma when he died. He also swings back pretty fast because the 'healing' is just getting the hell out of dodge.

Himiko is dropped down to right when her parents started berating her for her Quirk's existence, so yeah around 5-ish. And her healing would be kinda quick in the sense that it's dependent on acceptance. Being around people who think she's a good kid and her Quirk is fine. Which works pretty well when around either the LoV or the people at UA and basically anyone other than her parents lmao!

Dabi is dropped down to before they found out his Quirk is malfunctioning. So he hasn't really experienced the rejection/replacement/etc. His healing is very dependent on getting to meet Enji again and being reassured that he's loved no matter what. Which is gonna take a while because not only is Enji still bad at communicating but with him being so innocent right now everyone's going to want to avoid telling him about All That™ which means no confrontation of it all.

Hawks is kinda weird because there was never a turning point for him Keigo's childhood was just all bad all the time. So the Quirk probably dropped him to when he's like. Conscious and aware of things and maybe aware that things aren't good/normal. Healing again would be a bit longer as people figure out what he needs(unlike the others, there's no template because no one knows him that well) which is mostly some unconditional love. Being cared for without expectation of him being 'useful' in some way.

Tomura is ofc dropped down to about 5-ish right before his Quirk comes in and *gestures* and he's probably gonna be stuck a kid the longest as he's gotta undo everything AfO did to his psyche. A lot of that really includes inspiring some persevering hope in this kid that there's genuine good in the world.

Everyone is gonna have a Fun Time™ when they turn back because even with the healing done as a child they have to reconciliate that with everything they went through the first time and sort out what that all means for them.

K, now I'm imagining, instead of Oboro yoinking the kids & fleeing, its - Oboro: "What? You gonna try & stop me!?" / Compress: "…No. We're going with you." / others: "We're WHAT!?" / Compress: "Look, who would you rather be explaining this situation to? All for One, or All Might?" / silence / Spinner: "…it's kinda cold, do we have jackets that'll fit them?"

Lol YEAH one of these options is a lot better than the other!!

Monster AU

Basically take Canon and replace Quirks with everyone being some kind of monsterous species! Jokingly called the 'Monster High AU' because the kids are going to monster high school.

Does have some funky character dynamics due to the lack of Quirks and Heroes and the system as a whole.

Amnesia!Dabi:

When Toya/Dabi wakes up in a sketchy clinic, he doesn't remember jack shit and runs for it. Thus fucking up all of AfO's plans. Even when Dabi does join the LoV (out of the assumption he must've been a villain before and wanting some ability to maybe discover who he was), he's not as useful because he doesn't remember any of his problems.

He starts remembering some things during the Forest Training Camp/Hideout Raid arc and after everything goes to shit he decides to grab Himiko(basically adopted her as a little sister) and book it once again, ending up turning them both over to the Heroes and finding out who he was.

Various shenanigans of Dabi reconnecting to a family he doesn't remember(thankfully in this au they're already in therapy) and also them leaving gets the rest of the LoV to fracture and further fuck up AfO's plans.

Vigilante au

Izuku turns down All Might's offer and becomes a vigilante instead. Intends to infiltrate the LoV to take it down from the inside, but finds out AfO is his dad and uh. Time to collect that inheritance! Jokes aside, Izuku kills AfO and takes over his criminal empire, but shuts everything down and gets the LoV running as a vigilante squad instead.

Also Himiko gets OfA because Izuku helps her get her life together and yeets her at All Might.

Villain?Izuku

Dad for One au! Technically all of these are DfO AUs. But in this one, AfO finds out about Izuku's existence. He plays a normal parent for a while but kidnaps Izuku when the boy is about 7-8.

Izuku is treated kinda like Yoichi 2.0. AfO takes care of him well, but he's not allowed to leave. He's not fully 'in the vault' yet as Izuku is still young enough to be relatively obedient, but he's getting older and more defiant.

Izuku and Katsuki never had a falling out because Izuku knows he inherited his father's Quirk. Thus she is devastated when he's kidnapped and actually went to therapy. Then ofc later (probs during the Shie Hassaikai arc), they run into each other and Katsuki kidnaps him back and refuses to let go.

Dark Comedy

Due to *gestures to above tag*, Enji commits some very justified murder. But in getting an alibi for said murders, he ends up having to pretend he's been having an affair.

This au swings wildly between taking a dark subject seriously, and the comedic shenanigans of everyone trying not to get caught. This the name 'Dark Comedy'. It is very full of tonal whiplash. I am saying this as a warning because it is NOT for everyone but I do promise that the genuine dark stuff is taken seriously it's just the other stuff that gets wild.

LoV Babies

A handful of members of the LoV, and also Hawks because ofc he got dragged in, get hit with a Quirk that de-ages them. They de-aged both physically and mentally, now fully believing they're the age they were turned to. Only able to turn back once they confront the childhood trauma they're about to face.

Kurogiri is now a 17 year old Oboro. Dabi is now a 5 year old Toya, yapping nonstop about his dad. Tomura is now a young Tenko, wondering where his family is. Hawks is now an itty bitty Keigo, an absolute cryptid child. Himiko, the only one who doesn't have a name change of these fuckers, is very small and oh so nervous about fighting the instincts of her 'monsterous' Quirk.

Naturally Oboro yoinks the kindergartners away from the LoV and to UA which. Causes even more shenanigans.

Mistaken Spirit

Crossover/Isekai into ATLA.

Post-redemption-arc, Enji gets yeeted into the ATLA world during the first half of Book 3. The locals mistake him for a Spirit of Fire, and he's invited to the Fire Nation Palace as an honored guest of the Fire Lord.

Enji can't help but see similarities to his own family, even if Ozai is far more monstrous than even at his worst. So he decides to do something about it.

I had a couple and my thing about it is that it's both a physical and mental thing so the person getting hit with the power genuinely thinks they're a little kid and only has memory of that time etc.

I know I had a Katsuki-focused one where one of the main things was she was dropped to an age before Izuku was 'diagnosed' as Quirkless so as far as she's aware Izuku's Quirk came in soon after and it's totally cool(not as cool as hers) and he's her bff and always would be and totally her Hero Partner™(even if this was post-reconciliation it's still so different compared to the version of their friendship that has some baggage attached). Plus also the baby didn't develop any Complexes™ yet so there was a lot more genuine confidence and not insecurity-disguised-as-arrogance confidence(again subtle but different)

Then there was an Enji-focused one where he's dropped down to like 6-ish and is so confused/mad about people treating him like a child because what do you mean he needs a babysitter just give him access to food and a bed and he'll be fine alone for a while? He doesn't need to be supervised in the kitchen he knows how to make dinner! Also why does everyone change the subject when he asks about where his dad is?

One that wasn't mine but was someone else's prompt(I think on twitter?) but is stuck in my head and it's the idea of the LoV having to deal with both Dabi and Hawks getting de-aged and they expect Dabi to be an emo kid and Hawks to never shut the fuck up. Instead they get baby Toya yapping nonstop about how awesome his dad is and baby Keigo being a silent cryptid watching them from the shadows atop the fridge.

Ok, thought. Oboro changes back first. Partially cause the Quirk didn’t fully work on him, it didn’t last as long. But, normally, the people just remember what happened when they were kiddified, but cause of how it worked on him, Oboro has all his memories back, ALL of them. Which is, ya know, hell to process. But also means he knows a lot of shit he can tell the heroes.

Oh yeah Kurogiri is having a Bad Time™ but I'm keeping his CC characterization where he didn't trust AfO anyway and was pretty much only still around to try and protect Tomura. So while he certainly has to sort some shit out because the event slammed back all of Oboro's memory into him, he's thinking that gift horses are especially self-conscious about the inside of their mouths.

(Also rip to Aizawa and Mic because again they aren't ready for dilf-era Oboro)

I mean Vlad King probably has some merch. Not nearly as much as say Endeavor or god forbid All Might. But he should have an action figure or two.

LoVBabies- ok, Toya ALSO gets an Endeavour plush (Enji fully expects that thing to end up incinerated when his son goes back to normal). Himiko asks, shyly, if Vlad King has any merch (if he doesn’t, both 1-A &B are fully willing to create it then & there). Tenko…my major thoughts are, like. Izuku remembers the adult guy going on about Eraserhead, while Enji figures All Might is most kids' "default" favourite, Yagi probs has an old Nana plush or something…

I will say the thing with getting Tenko an Eraserhead toy is up in the air on how he'll react because like. Sure /Tomura/ likes him. But Tenko has no idea who the guy is. Because Tenko is 5 and has no memory beyond that, and when Tenko was 5 Aizawa was a first year student at UA. Tenko would recognize the toy as one of the UA staff that's taking care of the group, but there's little to stand out. (especially because I think the way Tomura likes Eraserhead is more about 'Tomura's' likes than 'Tenko's'.)

Though honestly I like the idea of someone bringing up Nana and Enji just getting low-key nostalgic fanboy about it/bonding with All Might because they're the only fuckers old enough to know her.

Ok, but. LoVBabies - Enji has…only the vaguest memories of tiny Keigo. Like. He remembered enough to go looking for that file, but he met the kid, like, once? So he doesn’t have a lot. But there's 1 picture, in the file, of little Keigo as his dad's being arrested. & Enji notices the toy he's clutching like a lifeline. So he thinks. & even though he feels REALLY STUPID going out & buying his own merch, it’s worth it when baby!Keigo lights up like a Christmas tree & finally smiles.

Yeah like. Enji only met itty bitty!Keigo once for a little bit. And while the memory sticks with him, he doesn't know the full extent of the kid's life other than 'it sucked'.

But yeah he remembers the plushie and just. He doesn't know if Hawks still has it, and it'd probably be hard to track down the exact toy from more than a decade and a half ago(though god know some collector has one), but a new one and explaining that to Keigo would likely work well.

Which yeah it does work because Keigo does understand the 'de-aged' thing. His adult self probably has little need for a plush toy to make him feel better. His adult self is a Hero and probably very brave and in a much better place, right?(honey no.....)

Though the fun part comes in that Enji has learned if you buy a present for one small child you gotta buy presents for all the small children so each of the de-aged kiddos gets a Hero toy. The fun part is figuring out which Hero becuase ofc Toya would /also/ want an Endeavor toy(he just. He loves his dad so much.) but Tenko and Himiko don't seem to have a favorite.

Also, LoVBabies crack idea - Dabi, just turned back, trying to process: "wh- who- How . . . where are the staples??" / Everyone else: "The what??" / Dabi, shaking an arm, showing scarred (but healed) skin: "The staples?? Holding the skin grafts on? I mean, I think this hurts less, but-" / Natsuo, shoving 10 fully grown adult heroes aside: "What the fucketh are you TALKING ABOUT!!?!"

Yeah no just. The whole thing somehow letting his physical body heal too and he just has more normal looking(though still severe) burn scars instead of glorified leather stapled to him.
