I need you to understand that when I say "comments are appreciated!" I mean that I will reply to every one of them. I mean that an email with an ao3 notification has a higher priority than a message from my mother. I mean that I will have entire discussions in the comment section if you're up for it. Message me on tumblr and I will have the same discussions on an even more unhinged level. I will dissect entire personalities and ships and fictional political structures and worldbuilding with you. I will become your new best friend. You already ARE my new best friend. At the last battle, I would raise Anduril and say "For my ao3 readers" while a single tears rolls down my cheek, and dive into the fray. I would upload from beyond the grave if someone asked about the next chapter

*looks at Chloe and Sabrina* what if I make them intresting. what if I make them complicated and messy
kind of like AU??? Not canon certaintly
Chloe, who always got everything she wanted. She can have as many fancy jewelry, trendy clothes, new boats, and gorgeous accessories as she wants. She lives in the most prestigious hotel in Paris, if not the whole of France. Her room is bigger than the flats of some of her poor classmates. She has money, and so she can have everything she wants, as long as she can buy it.
Except subjects. She doesn't have subjects. She has hotel staff, she can order around some of her classmates - and yet it's not...It's not right. It's not the same. She wants...She needs a personal devotion to her and only her. She needs subjects that are loyal to her and not for her money. She doesn't really understand the difference but she knows that she can buy whoever she wants, but they won't be hers.
Her butler is the closest she has to the right servant. He knows what to do before she can even say it. When Chloe has a bad day, he gets her ice cream and puts on her favourite TV show. He drives her around to the most prestigious shops and holds her bags with new and expensive clothes. He stays with her even when she fires him.
Chloe believes it's because of her money. But deep down, she knows it's something more. She has known Jean-Luke since she was a small baby. He sees her more than her father does. Sometimes, he feels like more of a parent than a butler.
And then she meets Sabrina.
Sabrina, who stays with her no matter what. Who executes her plans - perhaps not always successfully, but nonetheless with no judgment. She plays all stupid games with her, she goes to the same shops as she and she carries her bags. She knows her favourite colour and that she doesn't like strawberries. She knows she likes honey crackers, despite them being cheaper than what she usually prefers.
Sabrina devoted to her - just the right amount. Just the right loyalty.
***
Since she was a little kid, Sabrina knew that the world is a cruel place. You are either born into a good position, or you aren't. You may stay at the bottom of the things or you can claw your way into a good position, that always will be worse than those who were born into it.
Sabrina is unlucky: her mother died when she was young. She is shy and doesn't have a lot of friends. She isn't particularly crafty or academically smart: her grades are just above the average, just enough to fool everyone that she is still smart enough. And she is. But not the Max-computer-genius smart
But Sabrina is also lucky: she knows how the world works and she doesn't have the same stupid optimism as her classmates, that if you believe hard enough you will get everything you want.
She also understands people. She knows how they work and for what reason they behave. She senses the true identity behind the everyday masks people put on to fool everyone and themselves. And in certain circumstances. If she plays her cards right. She can use those people to get a better position in life.
So, when she sees Chloe - she devotes herself to her. Because she senses that Chloe tries to buy off her loneliness with material objects. She knows that it doesn't always work, not to the extent Chloe wants. Sabrina knows that what Chloe wants and needs - is a loyal friend.
And Sabrina becomes this friend.
Soon enough, her father gets a promotion. Soon enough, her wardrobe is full of expensive clothes that Chloe doesn't wear anymore. Soon enough, she is invited to all the places she wouldn't even dream of visiting.
And well...she also gets to see a rare sight of Chloe, that no one, not even her father or butler have ever seen. And this side - this poor, crying mess, that believes that no one will ever love her - this is perhaps the best gift of them all.
Sabrina stays loyal to Chloe. Chloe gets a loyal subject. This is what everyone sees. This is not what it actually is.

All of the russians must die
Those children in Kryvyi Rih was nearly my age and every time I see how young people, teens and children of Ukraine die, I can imagine if I were them.
I don't care how big your love for russians or russian culture. Don't. Care
If you support russia, you support genocide

4 hours after launching ballistic missile into Kryvyi Rih resident neighborhood and murdering 6 kids and 10 adults and sending dozens of people into critical care, Russia sends dozens of murder drones to the same city.
As of 11 P.M. April 4, 2025, Kryvyi Rih is under mass drone attack by Russians.
Ukrainians have to mourn while Russians are trying to murder more of them, Ukrainian doctors have to try to save critical condition patients while Russians are trying to murder them, Ukrainian rescuers have to dig rubble while Russians are trying to murder them.
Russians
Are
Murderers

Just two days after the previous strike, russia hits Kryvyi Rih again. They struck a residential area, next to a playground. In the early evening, when parents and children were outside.
As of now, 14 people are known to have been killed, including 6 children.
In the photo, parents stand over the body of their killed 15-year-old son.

Back in 2022, the world was saying "russian war of aggression will not be normalised". Today, in 2025, we are just numbers. Russia killing Ukrainians for the sin of existing has been normalised. Our lives are a boring statistic and our tragedies barely ever make it into the world news. Because this is no longer news.

So I just finished season 3 of Midnight Burger and I have a few things I'd like to say so spoilers for this season, previous and following seasons as well:
Shout out to Nhea Durousseau who portrayed Tamara Oliver, my favorite new character in season 3!
So my favorite thing about season three, is overall it's messaging about sharing your situation, or drown in it. When the diner crew find Tamara, she is trapped in an impossible situation, hopeless even before the chaos sprang up, with no one to share it with. With Ashley the asteroid, it was a lot of people sharing their situation, but not being believed, even though they had so many people to verify it. On mother's Day, we had people struggling with their relationships, with their loved ones, and themselves. And over all of this was Clementine, someone who refused to share her burden, out of a pride and foolishness that spiralled out consuming the lives of so many.
Season 1 introduced us to the world, the people we've heard and learned to love, and their stories, the idea that a person has a story to tell. Season two was about how we have the power to change our own stories, and the stories of others. We see that in the Teds interference with world's not their own across three systems. We see it in the way the diner inspired so many to rise to meet the world they wanted to have. Season 3 was about the importance of sharing your stories, to throw them out into the world like notes in a bottle, regardless of intended destination, they will be heard. We see this with young Leif, leaving the doc Ellis file, not knowing or caring who found it, or how it was used. We see it several times with Tamara, casting out her experiences to the amazement of people in the distant future, and the benefit of friends she knew for less than a day. She did this twice, and it was heard by so many. And season 4, we learned the dangers of when one tries to supercede the stories of others, heedless of the pain this causes. We see this in Caspar's damaged relationship with David, with the servants of krok, having no real lives of their own, consumed by a mission they don't understand.
I'm freaking in love with this series and I can't wait to see what's next.

From part 19 and part 43, respectively
I love "I am entirely my own" and the themes of chosen identity and everything of John's journey to become the person, human, that he wants to be, as much as the next person. But even more, I love it's parallel twin elements, of morality, of struggling to be good and excepting that sometimes you will fail. How you aren't defined by your worst moments, how you can try and fight to be better. (And how those themes are present in Arthur's story, too)
"I am neither good nor evil. I am both." and "But I can, and will, let go of what no longer serves me." are lines that live in my heart just as much, if not more, than "I am entirely my own."
