Happy birthday to the specialest baby girl.

Last year she got a bunny cake and treats, this year she gets syringes of yucky antibiotics and pain medication, then I gotta clean her abscess.

10 more days to surgery. Fingers crossed!

Cleaning and organizing the room all day. Cory threw himself down with a big huff right in the middle of the dust pile I was sweeping.

There's a lot more space now that the cat tower and bookshelves have been sold. Cory isn't happy I fenced off under my bed, that was his and Basil's favorite hideyhole, but now that Basil will be down to 3 feets I want to limit the small spaces she can get into. So I've been stuffing and blockading all their little dens (and pulling out toys I haven't seen in months)

Poor Basil tried to figure out how to scratch her ear while not putting pressure on her abscess. It did not work in her favor. She thumped in agitation, which was not her brightest moment. Especially this late in the day, her pain meds were probably wearing off.

After her foot bath and round of medications they are happy with their fresh clean litter boxes full of hay. Tuesday we're going for our weekly checkup, surgery is on the 19th. Hopefully this will be her last.

Last week the vet said that they probably only need to amputate up to the knee, however there is already 2 more pea sized lumps further up her leg. I really dont want to take the risk of this infection reaching up into her body. I'd rather be overly cautious than be back here again in another month.

BUNBAZ IS HEEEEEEEERE!

It's my birthday and Halloween and Christmas rolled into one: @monbons's Bunbaz is here.

I didn't think to film the bunboxing, but it would have been a lot of high-pitched squealing from me, and Manwitch going "wow, that's incredibly good." And he is! The goodest!

He visited with his pals.

At the end of a big day in his new home, Bunbaz curled up for bed.

@monbons, I have no words. I LOVE him. Good thing hoodie season has begun where I live.

While carrying Bunbaz around with me all day, and protecting him from a Labrador who fell instantly in love with him, I had a strange sense of déjà vu. And then I realized that before I properly conceived of Bunbaz, before Wayward Bun and Basil Pitch's Diary, I wrote this in Size You Up (7k, T):

Sometimes I think about chewing on Baz. Not even chewing, really, just carrying him in my mouth. (The Wellbeloves have a dog, some kind of retriever, that carries a stuffed rabbit room to room.) I wouldn’t really put Baz in my mouth. Obviously he’d smother. ... “Simon? Why do you have a Labrador tail?" I think of when my wings and tail burst out, of what I most wanted in that moment. Of carrying Baz in my mouth from room to room.

Just a quick update, because i am really tired and done for today. I'll make a complete update tomorrow. Just this:

The visit at the vet was... A lot. I think I'll need some time to process everything. We also brought the yveltal egg, not just the rescued ultra-domesticated Pokémon. At least that one seems healthy, if a bit quiet for the moment.

I've decided on the names "Bun" for the female UD Trubbish, "Roll" for the smaller, male UD Trubbish and "Appleslice" for the UD Mareanie. Idk why "Apple" wasn't sufficient, my brain said so.

Also, the Barn is actually finished. Basil and Poppy have already claimed their spots, it's going great.

Loaf, Chocco, Carrot Cake and Pumpkin were planned to arrive today via PC, but they haven't...

@frostbite-yinny my parents are gonna crash the party! (And bring my other Pokémon).

This makes me so so so happy.

About a year ago I wrote the Bunbaz chapter of Basil Pitch's Diary. It was a joy and flowed out more easily than anything I'd written beyond < 1k one-shots. After finishing I was still so full of Bunbaz feelings that I had to write more Bunbaz, and give him a happy ending (heh), before I could move on to the rest of BPD.

I loved him so much, I designed myself a Bunbaz build-a-bear.

COFFINS COVENS COFFEE ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME. I put him in my cart half a dozen times, but I kept stalling out at the option to record audio because I was too lazy / intimidated by trying to rip Euan Morton's voice for it. And then let it go because he doesn't *really* look like Bunbaz, you know?

I shared this on the Discord, saying Baz should wear this as a crop top, @facewithoutheart suggested Uggs, and @artsyunderstudy fucking made it so, giving Baz a PSL because it was September and why not?

AND NOW HE HAS REAL CORPOREAL FORM. Bunbaz is in the hands of the U.S. Potal Service. Soon he'll arrive at my house and I will starve to death gazing upon his beauty like Narcissus at the pond. Monica I cannot believe the level of detail you've put into this. His widow's peak. His outfit(s)! His own little Paddington so he's never lonely. You're incredible.

The response to Bunbaz has floored me. @skeedelvee's gorgeous print, @monbons's other Bunbaz stuffie and his human friends, @artsyunderstudy's gorgeous Simon and Bunbaz. And Dalia's crochet Bunbaz, who I don't think Tumblr has seen before?

And. And. @rimeswithpurple's BUNBAZ TATTOO. I have no words. I am picturing Ariana fifty years from now, showing off her tattoos in the nursing home and explaining about her gay teen vampire rabbit friend.

I am so excited to get to hug the physical manifestation of unhinged yes-and-ing. I love this fandom so much. You guys are the best.

Stitch Sunday

I've been back at work for a week and am already exhausted. The beginning of the year is always brutal (this one more so because I am training a new teaching partner), so time for anything outside of school is hard to come by. BUT! I was determined to finish BunBaz, so may I present ...

No Trauma Bun Baz!

Ready for the fall season, this bun is rocking his favorite sleeveless tee in the pumpkin patch. He was sipping on a pumpkin mocha breve earlier, but the photographer didn't capture the moment. He might play some pick up footie later, although Uggs aren't the best footwear...

After a long day of taking perfectly posed pictures for his Holiday cards, BunBaz heads home and is ready for bed. He loves his striped and collared PJs (only the best for this bun!) and his Paddington keeps him company all night long.

In all seriousness, I had a blast making this bun for the lovely @bookish-bogwitch. (If you missed my earlier post about him, he speaks!) I made the witchy tee based on inspiration pics Em sent over. All other clothing and accessories are American Girl Doll cast-offs, either repurposed or tailored to fit.

In other doll factory news, Rainbow posted the SnowBaz worry dolls I gifted her at the Slow Dance signing (last slide). I know the real artists in this fandom get reblogged and reposted all the time, but this literally made me cry when I saw it! Especially because these little guys were the first set of dolls I ever made in early-May. It blows my mind how far I've come in just a few months.

I hope to keep getting better and tackling more complex projects in the months to come. This fall alone I will be keeping busy with a possible COTTA collaboration with the amazing @iamamythologicalcreature. The idea, if it pans out, is super cool! I also submitted a doll concept for CORB and am excited for whoever my fic partner happens to be!

On that fandom high note, I am bidding you all temporary farewell since I plan to disappear through mid-September at least. Students can smell weakness, so I'm going to devote my time to planning kick-ass lessons and breaking 15-year-old spirits. Please keep tagging me so that I remember I once had a life.

After our morning wound wash plus five oral medications plus a bicillin shot. :(

But she's very cooperative (until I have to squeeze to make sure all the puss is gone) and we take a few minutes to just sit with eachother.

Usually she's trying to dig herself up under my thigh to hide after everything, so when she stretched herself out to just chill as soon as she got her shot I grabbed my phone.
