This argument would actually make sense if the government wasn't taxing most of our earnings so that so much is wasted in money laundering schemes related to abortions and transitioning. If you want to murder your infant or mutilate your genitals, then pay for it out of your own pocket. Don't force me to shoulder a larger tax burden to support your bad decisions.

Just because people agree on something doesn’t make them friends. I’m sure that Rowling, Trump, and Musk would all (at least publicly) agree that kicking a dog is wrong, but that doesn’t make them best buddies. Same with me and JK Rowling, just because I agree with her on feminist issues doesn’t mean I’ll agree with her on everything. Also, I’m assuming that “CIS Algerian boxer” you’re talking about is Imane Khalif, and it turns out she is a male with alpha-5 reductase type-2 deficiency. She has testes and a micropenis. She’s a man with an intersex disorder.

It’s always interesting to me how TRAs use people with intersex disorders for their agenda. Like taking acronyms like AFAB and AMAB (which were originally used for intersex people who had the wrong sex put on their birth certificate), for people who believe they were born in the wrong body instead of as an indication of a medical disorder. Or how they’ll take phrases from other movements to validate their own: “trans lives matter” instead of “Black Lives Matter”, “Stop Trans Hate” instead of “Stop Asian Hate”, ““Trans Rights are Human Rights” instead of “Women’s Rights are Human Rights”, the list goes on. This movement can’t even stand on its own two feet by itself, which is probably why they insist on being a part of the gay community, and even take credit for giving them the rights that they fought for themselves.

Just like bad people can make good art, bad people can also have good politics and the insistence that they were faking it and secretly fascist all along is just as irrational as retroactively deciding their entire body of work was always bad and you never liked it anyway.

I think Neil Gaiman genuinely believed he was a good and progressive person and was perfectly sincere in his support of trans rights and representation. I think Joss Whedon genuinely believed he was a feminist ally. I think JK Rowling was very sincere about the anti-fascist themes she wrote into Harry Potter, and thought she was a good queer ally when she clapped back at homophobes on Twitter. I think Marion Zimmer Bradley genuinely believed she was a good feminist.

We aren't reliable judges of our own character, and we all see ourselves as good people, even when we're hurting others. Anyone can justify their intentions to themselves, no matter how vile their actions are, and that's a scary thought. There's a perverse comfort in believing that people who do terrible things are pure evil demons in human skin with no capacity for good, but its just a fantasy. A comforting fantasy. The uncomfortable truth is that bad people are PEOPLE who do good as well as bad things just like you.

In 2022, Yamagami Tetsuya murdered Abe Shinzo, the former Prime Minister of Japan and leader of the Liberal Democratic Party, in broad daylight because of his ties to the Unification Church, a predatory cult that ruined his and many others families' lives, which led to the entire country basically saying "this guy has a point," increasing scrutiny of the UC and its ties to the LDP, and the subsequent backlash contributed to the LDP's worst election result since 2009.

In 2024, a currently still free assassin murdered Brian Thompson, the CEO of United Healthcare, one of the largest health insurance companies in America, and also the one with the highest claim denial rate, leaving the words "deny, defend, depose" on the bullet casings, likely in reference to this, and the people appear to be almost unanimously behind him.
