Period!❤️❤️❤️❤️
Fat people;
You do not have to wear jeans or pants in the summer to hide your legs
You do not have to wear long cargo or basketball shorts to hide your thighs
You do not need to wear long sleeves to hide your arms
You do not need to wear high collared shirts to hide your chests
You do not need to wear sleeved shirts to hide your shoulders
You do not have to wear sneakers to hide your feet
You do not have to wear a one piece bathing suit or coverall to hide your stomach or chest or thighs
You can wear whatever you want to. You can wear whatever stylea skinny people wear. It's hot. Don't give yourself heat stroke just to appease fatphobes- cause they're never gonna be appeased anyway. You have all the freedom in the world to wear literally anything ever however you want, just like everyone else.

Hi, do you by any chance know any fat athletes who ski/do wintersports? I got very spontaneously invited to go skiing with some coworkers tomorrow (I've never been before) and when I tried on skiing shoes they didn't really fit/the top couldn't be closed all the way, so I've just been feeling pretty meh about it, even though I know it's not my fault those things are only designed with thin people in mind.
(Totally fair if you don't get to this before tomorrow/doesn't fit the blog/etc)
I feel for you about this. I tend to feel self-conscious in similar situations, especially when there's not much time to mentally prepare for the outing. There's so many ways that fat people aren't included in daily society, like the problem with those ski shoes. I haven't done a lot of research into fat athletes, especially winter fat athletes. The fat athletes I know of are the fat athletes I happen to find while looking at fat positive stuff in general. BUT you're in luck!
lainedubin is a fat ice skater on TikTok. I've posted them a few times to this blog. This is one of their videos. They don't ski, as far as I know, but they have amazing videos of their ice skating. They look so graceful, and I know that their TikTok is welcoming of fellow fat people who want to feel comfortable doing what this ice skater does.
I also did a search of some more fat athletes who do winter sports! This Instagram account seems to post a lot of fat people doing winter sports like skiing:
The account apparently posts to this Instagram now, so both accounts show fat people skiing. Although this seems to be a brand selling plus size winter gear, a lot of their videos I looked at just now are fat positive and encourage fat people to feel comfortable doing winter sports! They show a lot of examples of fat people skiing and snowboarding.
I found that Instagram account while reading this post about skiing while fat. I haven't read the entire post, but what I did read was fat positive. The post includes tips for fat skiers. Tip 3, "Don’t be embarrassed to ask for boots that fit your calves," may or may not be helpful for you. I'm not sure if you already have the skiing shoes and can't switch them for a different pair. If anything, I think tip 5 will help give you confidence:
I felt inadequate the first time I showed up to ski at the resort. I felt that my body size wasn’t designed for skiing and that my lack of knowledge at my age would prevent me from learning how to ski. I felt that others would judge my size and think that skiing isn’t for plus-size people. WRONG! We have a place on that mountain along with everyone else. I changed my mindset and recognized that I had to stop putting limits on myself. I’m not concerned what others think anymore. I just get out there and have fun. I am loving skiing and will continue to do it because I CAN and because I love it. I will continue to take up space on the slopes, and I hope that you will too.
Additionally, we have a tag for posts about fat athletes. I've kind of lost track if the tag is "fat athlete" or "fat athletes," but it's one of the two. This recent post of ours I hope will also give you the confidence to enjoy skiing without thinking about other people.
I'm proud of you for putting yourself out there and allowing yourself to take up space!
-Mod Worthy

"The best part of being fat is being soft and comfy to cuddle with" "The best part of being fat is knowing people like you for your personality and not your looks" Wrong. The best part of being fat is getting to swim in ice-cold water for FAR longer than my peers. My skinny friends can barely last 10 minutes in the pacific ocean without losing feeling in their fingers meanwhile i can be in there for HOURS. I was born to swim in glacial lakes and icemelt streams. Also I float.
#i have gotten hypothermia 3 times#but that is unrelated#i see a body of water and i simply need to GET IN THERE#fat liberation#fat acceptance#fat positive

It will never not baffle me how hard society tries to insist that fatness is an abnormality. The average western woman wears plus size clothing. One of the smallest garments on the scale is called a medium. Most people with anorexia are in the overweight bmi category, yet somehow that's known as "atypical anorexia". Fatness is often labeled the cause of a number of diseases, but there are literally no diseases exclusive to fat bodies. Looking at movies and television, you'd think the world was 98% thin people. It's not.
My point isn't that if it was pretty rare to be fat, fatphobia would be okay. Of course not.
My point is that we're surrounded by all these artificial indicators that fatness is unnatural and uncommon and it's just not true?? Humans are not always thin and we've never all been thin and we're not all meant to be thin. Fat humans are a normal type of human. Fatness is a feature, not a bug.

it's okay to be fat and like to eat. it's okay to be fat and enjoy cooking, baking, grilling, canning, drying or preparing foods. it's okay to be fat and work a restaurant or bakery and enjoy what you do. it's okay to be fat and not ashamed of eating in public. it's okay to be fat, but it's especially okay to be fat and have a positive relationship with food. people are supposed to enjoy eating, it's where we get our energy from, it's a very positive and nourishing experience for our bodies, it's okay if it's positive and nourishing to your mental health, too. fat people are allowed to eat, and we're allowed to enjoy doing it, too.

I have to be honest, when people are objectively into plus sized bodies it turns me on, and I’m not sorry.
I don’t want to have sex where we tiptoe around the fact that I’m fat, I actually want my body to be touched on and groped and worshiped during sex and if someone gonna be weird about it, I’m not going to enjoy myself. I want someone to grab and kiss and mark on my belly the way they would any person no matter the size, as for the rest of me. I’m deserving of that type of sex, and to shame people who want to give me that type of sex just kinda feels weird and fatphobic.
The way that people treat any sort of attraction to fat bodies as fetishization and chasing just frustrates me to no end, sometimes people just are attracted to fat people and know how to love on us the way other people are loved up on.
#like yes there’s chasing but there’s also just genuine attraction#don’t @ me#also this is just personal opinion everyone is different#t4t ns/fw#t4t mlm#t4t#ftm t4t#t4t nsft#ftm nsft#ftm daddy#ftm dom#t4t puppy#ftm ns/fw#ftm switch#ftm bear#fat ftm#trans ftm#nsft t4t#t4t kink#t4t dom#fat liberation

anti-fatness is not just body shaming.
anti-fatness is discrimination. anti-fatness is having next to no legal protections for being discriminated against. anti-fatness is being denied housing, jobs, receiving less pay and promotions (legally) because of your size. anti-fatness is being denied access to clothing, seating, transportation, and other human rights because infrastructure has been designed to exclude you. anti-fatness is less likelihood of receiving a fair trial. anti-fatness is dehumanization. anti-fatness is being denied necessary surgeries, but not surgery that amputates the digestive tract with the intent to starve and shrink you (it doesn’t work either). anti-fatness is mutilation. anti-fatness is being subject to torture devices that bolt your mouth shut. anti-fatness is being told by close friends, family, and professionals that you are better off living with an eating disorder or other life-threatening illness. anti-fatness sells you starvation as a guaranteed opt-out of oppression, but doesn’t tell you that bodies will always regain weight to survive. anti-fatness blames and punishes you for failing at an achievement that is quite literally impossible. anti-fatness is a $90 billion dollar industry. anti-fatness is being denied gender-affirming care. anti-fatness is being barred from in vitro fertilization and reproductive healthcare. anti-fatness is being barred from adopting children. anti-fatness is being removed from your loving parents because they couldn’t make you thin. anti-fatness is intentionally starving your own baby so they won’t get fat. anti-fatness is disproportionately high suicide rates. anti-fatness is being killed at the hands of medical neglect and mistreatment. anti-fatness is the world preferring a dead body over a fat one.
#i’m sorry that my fellow fat followers have to see this. you all already know it. you’ve lived it.#spread this like wildfire so that thin people can wake up.#resources#tw anti fatness#tw fatphobia#tw medical fatphobia#tw anti fat bias#tw anti fat violence#fat liberation#fat acceptance#fatphobia#fat activism

lil tip for everyone bc I feel like people often do the opposite of this out of internalized fatphobia
eat a big meal directly before trying on new clothes. you wanna know whether those outfits will still be comfortable on you after you've eaten. it's not shameful and is in fact very natural to be bigger at different times of day and it's okay to accommodate yourself feeling comfortable during those times too I promise 💛

if you reblog any of my posts about men in crop tops or short shorts and youre like "ill do this when im skinny," i need you to take my hand. sweet summer child, listen to me. you do not have to be skinny to show skin. please be fat and show skin. you deserve to wear what you want to wear, and to be cool in the heat. you do not have to punish yourself for being fat.
im not going to lie- some people will judge you. sometimes you will see or hear them judging you. you have to be able to move on. you are not living your life for them. pleasing them by sweating to death is not going to help you, and it's not going to appease fatphobic assholes. you do not need to make yourself small for them.
there are, on the other hand, also a plethora of people who are going to find you smokin hot, and others who will be inspired by your bravery- whether or not *you* feel brave- and it will make them brave too. there will be fat children who see you and realize they too can have all the autonomy and free will skinny people do. please dont hide yourself.
#but do wear sunscreen#thats advice for everyone#if youre wearing a crop top you gotta protect the tum#fat positivity#fat liberation#fatphobia#manslut summer

you don't have a personal responsibility to break stereotypes about your demographics. you don't have to be the perfect representation. you don't have to be a good representation. you are allowed to exist as you are, even if it somehow fits into stereotypes.
you're allowed to have your experiences, hobbies, expressions, traits, problems, symptoms, etc. even if they're stereotyped. you are not a living stereotype. you are a person. a person who happens to have some traits. you're not making the world less diverse. your existence already contributes to diversity.

Please, please be considerate of your fat friends' needs and limitations. Fat bodies are heavy to carry around. I move about the world slower than my thin peers, and I've often had to choose between pushing myself to keep a pace that takes absolutely all my energy, or being left behind, when walking in a group. I don't always feel safe to ask that everyone walk slower, because there's a prevalent idea in society that fat people need to exert themselves as much as possible at all times in the service of weight loss, and that we never "really" need rest, therefore it's a good thing whenever we're exhausted. Fat people and thin people alike are taught that fatness is a flaw, one that fat people ourselves are to blame for, so we're not entitled to any accommodation or consideration. A friend of mine who is fat recently told me about a dinner party she went to where the chairs were far too small for her and she was sitting very uncomfortably. After the meal she politely suggested moving the party to the couch, but the others didn't want to. She spent another couple of hours in unnecessary pain, and didn't dare tell them about it. I love my thin friends, but some of them just don't realize that I weigh probably twice as much as them, and yet I balance it all on the same size feet and carry it on about the same size bones. I'm like if they had a whole other them to carry around at all times. Why would that not have an impact on how I function? Please - take us into consideration when we're part of activities. Ask us which activities work and which don't. Adjust the pace so no one has to be dry heaving and sweating barrels on what's supposed to be a casual walk. Make sure venues have seating that fits us. Make it safe for us to speak up if we need something. When we do, don't treat us like we're the problem. Finally: yes, we have heard of losing weight. Even those of us who might (and many never will, whether you like it or not), won't do it on a moment's notice. If your response to "fat people deserve accommodations" is "what if they weren't fat though", you're playing a fantasy game. It's pointless. We are fat and we are here and we do partake in society. Work with that.

Socialists, get into fat liberation theory right the fuck now. I am speaking as a fellow dirty commie, DO IT.
You all like to lump fatness into either the category of "product of bourgeoisie decadence" or "side effect of capitalism forcing us to eat bad food" when neither is the actual case.
Fat people exist in all social classes and all walks of life, often regardless of individual choices.
Fat people are victims of capitalist exploitation at the hands of the multi billion dollar diet and weight loss industry that pushes eating disorder behavior and unnecessary surgeries on to us all in the name of profits.
Fatphobia ties into beauty standards that capitalists use to manipulate people into hating their bodies so they can be sold beauty. Think about how many of the ads you get every day are for weight loss.
