Y'all, how often does the motif of death include a different color but in like certain eras of time? Like we mostly know it as black. Victorians saw it as black and green because of Emerald green being made with Arsenic? But how often is it paired with red because of blood? Like I was just thinking about my off my rocker phobias of Wizeman theory and I just realized that Into Dreams (and that entry's fan artists) Reala his horns shape in a way with his head like some sort of deformed skull. Why was I thinking of Reala and that theory? I discussed the true fear NiGHTS was supposed to represent in that theory but mostly glazed over Reala.

Wizeman's fear of rebellion? Makes sense, he's the authority. But if that's the case what is Reala? My brain was jumping possibilities like Manipulation, Strength, and so forth. But it just feels so... loose? Then I thought isolation because he cages NiGHTS and to fight Reala it is its own isolated thing in JoD and has an isolated day where you can play as him in Into Dreams. But according to the threat of Cerberus scene in JoD we witness it's implied that any 4 level and higher can make cages. Then I thought about death and injury.

NiGHTS is concerned and afraid when they hurt him. Usually I would brush this off as a sibling bond concern because of how in isolation they actually sit and talk. I have a sibling, I have a horrifying father, I 100% understand the fear of talking about a high authoritative figure that has a large temper. Yet it kinda rubs me the wrong way. Yes the injury is real, hell real is in his name, but it's written as bait. Even the wiki claims it was bait? Well turns out the final act in both dream paths people without the dreamdrops see NiGHTS as dead. But the same act with dreamdrops for both paths you fight Reala and coincidentally NiGHTS is alive. I believe Reala's fights with NiGHTS means to over come death. And also coincidentally the one to over come death twice in one dream is Will in JoD as Will saves Helen from her own death. We see him conquer death in his dream. Helen? Not a single fight as far as I am aware. Again that concert tree level has me in the trenches.

So if NiGHTS disappears without Reala, what wouldn't be conquered? Death. NiGHTS is afraid of their death although all dreams come to an end, death for a nightmaren and nightopians are different than a visitor's. Death is just a way to wake up for a visitor. For NiGHTS, Reala, Owl, and Wizeman? That's permanent, they CAN'T wake up. To to beat a representation of that fear? It means to live beyond where you're not supposed to. They all fear death and death fears being ignored and undermined. Reala's own flaw is one overdose of being abandoned and ignored away from destroying everything. To conquer death is to give Reala some spotlight.

So Wizeman's two #1 fears is Rebellion (NiGHTS) and Death (Reala). Because Rebellion seems like a dream, but death is a harsh and brutal reality.

Once again I am dangling between tired and not tired enough. Tomorrow I might be normal though I doubt it.

I remember discussing Tintin casting choices with a friend from Germany and remarked how it was odd he often has an English accent in adaptations rather than a Belgian one, and my friend just replied "that's because Tintin gives incredibly strong English boy energy (derogatory)"

Here in the UK there's a lot of weird classism tied into accents. Today accent diversity and representation in broadcasting is actively pursued but in Tintin's time there certainly was a preferred accent to have.

I think the scariest part about Batman is the loyalty he inspires. Like this motherfucker has an army of children who might at any given time hate his guts, but are still 100% willing to throw hands for him if Bruce needs them to. And then there’s the Justice League, who also at any given time might hate his guts or find him insanely irritating and/or weird, but will also fall in line and listen to his plans if the need arises. And that’s like the most intense form of power someone can wield—voluntary obedience from people physically more capable than them.

Granted, that’s probably not the first thing Danny should be saying to the guy that just bit the curb, but in his defense; he’s not running on 100% right now either.

The man -- tall, towering, and broader than Danny is tall -- whips around on his heel, black frayed cape flaring out impressively. Danny would've whistled in appreciation, but he takes the time instead to wipe the back of his hand across his mouth, smearing the blood running from his nose across his cheek.

"Sorry." He blinks widely, not even flinching as the man with the horns zeroes in on him. "That was rude of me. I have a really bad brain-to-mouth filter; Sam says its what always gets me into trouble."

And she's not wrong either, per say. His smart mouth is what landed him in this situation -- with blood blossom extract running through his veins and cannibalizing the ectoplasm in his bloodstream. Thanks Vlad.

The man grunts at him; a short, curt "hm" that shouldn't make Danny smile, but he does because he's somewhat delirious and probably concussed. The man keeps some kind of distance, sinking towards the shadows of Gotham's alleyway like he dares to melt right into it.

If it's supposed to scare Danny, it doesn't work. Danny's never been afraid of the dark; he's always been able to hide himself in it. He blinks slowly at the mass of shadows.

"You look hurt." The shadows says, blurring together around the edges. Danny squints, and licks his lips to get the blood dripping down his chin off. Ugh, he hates the taste of blood.

"I am." He says, "My godfather poisoned me. M'dying." The agony of the blood blossom eating him from the inside out looped back around to numbing a while ago, so all he feels is half-awake and dazed.

"Hey," Danny stumbles forward towards the man, a bloodied hand reaching out to him. "You-- you're a hero, right? You're not attacking me; which is more than I can say for most costumed people I've met." Maybe it's a poor bar to judge someone at, but he's already established that Danny's not in his right mind.

The man makes no change in expression, but Danny realizes blearily that it's hard to tell with the shadows on his face. He stays still long enough for Danny to latch onto the cape -- stretchy, but almost soft under his fingers.

He looks up blearily into the whites of the man's eyes. "Can you help me? I don't-- I don't wanna die." Again. He doesn't wanna die again. He blinks slow and lizard-like. "I mean- I'll probably get to see mom and dad again, but I told them I'd at least try and make it to adulthood."

There's a clatter down the street, and Danny's ghost sense chills up his spine and leaves a bitter, ashy taste in his mouth. He immediately knows who it belongs to even before the deceptively gentle; "Daniel?" echoes down the way.

"Daniel? Quit your games, badger, Gotham is dangerous for children."

Danny's mouth pulls back, and blood spills against his tongue. "Please." He rasps, and grabs onto the shadow's cape with both hands. "Please. He's going to kill me. Please--"

"Daniel? Is that you?"

His lips part, dragging in air to plead with the darkness again. He doesn't need to, the whites of his eyes narrow, and the cape whirls around him before Danny can blink. Soon swaddled in shadows, the Night lifts him up, and steals him away.

Have we noticed that making Jayce sign with "Viktor and Jayce Talis" as a subtle version of him giving his last name to Viktor, it's also keeping his name together and in case someone cof Piltover cof or the academy cof wants to take Viktor out of the picture, they can just crop out his name without fixing any blank spaces, just cover it up and you have all the credits going to Jayce Talis.

Jayce did it with the intentions of having Viktor's name mentioned first, hard to ignore. Viktor once pointed out that it looked like they were married or something. Time later Jayce probably notices that Viktor's name was taken out and he starts signing "Jayce and Viktor Talis" and see who dares now because his calligraphy would be difficult to replicate on purpose and they must keep their names in the credits. Plus some lettering intertwines so you can't tell which letter decoration belongs to Jayce or Viktor.

Does the iconic groan/grunt whenever he sits down in his chair. It’s hilarious, but no one is dumb enough to laugh at the Batman.

Ensures that the background music exclusively plays Matchbox 20 and Nirvana. Diana is the only one who enjoys this.

Actively complain about how everyone is “ruining his floor” whenever they push back their chairs.

On that note, he also complains about crumbs getting everywhere whenever someone is snacking.

Will (covertly) ask Clark for grilling tips during breaks. Oliver overhears this once and has to go lay down out of shock, because Batman? Grilling?

Declines requests for new equipment/tools/etc. because they “have that at the Watchtower.” This inevitably leads to complaining from the entire JL.

I’ve already said it, I’ll say it again, Mal du Pays is such a visceral and clever word to describe Siffrin’s Sadness. When I first saw it in game it genuinely made me pause like. Yes, it translates to homesickness. But it has the literal word for country in it. “Country sickness”. For a guy whose core problem is that his childhood, his culture, his country is missing. One could argue it’s a twisted pun. I’m obsessed with it.
