"I'm of the thought that Rika and Damon being related served two purposes for PD. One, PD loves walking the line of incest, and the idea of Rika and Damon with their tension (which is sexual), being related was too delicious to pass up. Two, PD loves Michael for being the first horsemen that spoke to them. Damon is their favorite, but Michael was the first and that's special. So while they love the idea of hinting Rika/Damon, they don't actually want people taking Rika away from Michael (also hence why anytime Rika engages with Kai on a physical level, Michael has to be there for it to be okay)."

reminds me of ContraPoints (Youtuber) who talked about twilight, and how stephanie meyer made jacob as renesmee's (bellaedward's daughter) mate because she still wanted to make jacob somehow related to bella, even though bella already got together with edward. So in a way, it's still a win for her, the readers and bella ofc. i don't think that your opinion of this could be so far off, because if it can happen to twilight, why cant it happen to devils night series right? Even the origin of this story and the inspiration behind nichael's name are already questionable, why not just add up the weird shit for the sake of it. That's probably how penelope douglas thinks.

Side note: and recently i saw a tiktok video of penelope douglas interacting with a fan, and omg she's so beautiful!!!!! The impression thati got from her is that she seem very centered, intense and focused. Idk, because i've seen tiktok videos of other authors and PD really did seem different than them, but not in an ovjective good or bad way, but i can definitely tell that this person wrote something crazy. Like when i compare her to kennedy ryan, lauren asher or even sierra simone in events, PD seems like she got an edge? Idk just a vibe? Idk but i kinda like it? Haha, i like it when an author matches the overallvibe of her books. And i like all these authors in different ways, their personality shined through.

If I remember my twilight years correctly, didn’t SM want to jump from twilight straight to breaking dawn, without giving Jacob the chance to develop? And the editors were like, we need to give that more context? While I didn’t love the imprinting on Renesmee as a whole, I do see how for SM it was a win/win. I am curious if the Rika and Damon situation felt like a win/win to a problem, if it came to them in a stroke of inspiration, or if PD would say it was always planned.

I think PD is very pretty too! I wouldn’t know much to compare their interactions with other authors, but I looked up the tiktok you mentioned and I did like that they seemed to be paying close attention to the fan instead of trying to rush them along.

I think PD’s creativity is authentic to them, and that nothing they’ve written is something they’ve done just because it’s a trend. I also think they’re proud of everything they’ve produced, and while I’m not 100% happy with it, I would never resent them for standing behind their work. They have every right to.

When I’m crying out for them “admit they did wrong”, I’m partly joking. It’s not that personal. But also, on a deeper level, it’s that as a creator and artist, we’re constantly growing. The work I produced five years ago isn’t going to be the same as what I produce today. I should have improved on a technical level, yes, but it’s not just that. I’m a different person with new experiences, and those experiences should affect my creativity. If PD can honestly stand there and say they wouldn’t change a single thing about Nightfall or the series as a whole, that seems weird to me. But there are some people who say they would never want to change anything because it represented who they were then, and that’s fair.

So, then, I guess my question for PD would be “if you were to approach Devil’s Night as a new project today, do you think there would be major changes or only minor ones, or none at all? And if there were some major changes, without asking for too much detail, what would they be?”

Thanks for sharing the tiktok. I’d forgotten they were going to France for a meet and greet, and it’s nice they got some good interactions. Also very cool that it seems like the fan got their copy of nightfall signed.

He'd wanted to find a library. And... he found one, alright, but definitely not the one he'd been looking for. He can't even read the books here very well, and he's thankful that he hadn't worn his typical clothes today because everyone in this library is dressed totally differently. Pale hands pull his coat tighter around his shoulders as he tries to hide amongst the many shelves, crouched in a back corner. There are too many people here. He doesn't like it at all. Maybe he can just wait for everyone to leave, and then he can ask for his friends to help him get back to the correct plane or realm. This isn't the first time he's come to the wrong place. It's fine. He can get home. He's sure of it. They need to stay hidden for now, though. All of them, Allister included. Deep breaths are shakily pulled in through his mask, though when he lays eyes on two people who have turned and found his spot, his composure falls entirely apart. He can't even run and there's nowhere to run. Not with a boy who looks taller and much stronger than him and a second person in a suit of armor who's big enough to cast a shadow over the whole aisle. He can't get past them. As long as they don't see his face and the tears that have started to sting at his eyes, he'll be okay... hopefully. "... I... I was just... going to leave," he stammers out. "Can... Can I get by? I- I'm lost and I should... try to find my way back... um... before it gets too late in the day."

"I'm...I'm sorry." The apology fell from his lips easily, but it didn't begin to cover his feelings. His guilt, his happiness, his confusion.

Grey eyes met his. "Are you?" he asked, a genuine question.

It was a fair query, but James wasn't sure what to say. "I..." He sat, contemplating before answering. "I love him, Sirius," he whispered, deciding that honest was the best policy, especially now. "So much."

Sirius scoffed, but didn't complain.

"But I'm sorry for not telling you, yeah," he went on, tears coming to his own eyes. "I was just scared you would be..."

"Mad?"

James nodded, appreciating the irony of the situation.

"Prongs, I care about both of you. You really think I'd be angry that you care about each other, too?" Sirius asked, eyes full of hurt.

And when he put it like that, shame flooded through James's body.

"I'm happy for you. For both of you. I just...I wish you'd trusted me enough to tell me," he murmured, pulling his knees closer to himself.

He thought about protesting, but he knew it was no use. "You're right," he sighed after a pause. "I should have. I was...I love you both, so much. I didn't want to lose either of you. God, I was so scared, Pads."

Sirius looked at him again. "I'm pissed you didn't tell me, Prongs, but it'll take more than kissing my brother to get rid of me."

Relief flooded through James and he grinned. "Right...kissing...that's all."

A grimace crossed Sirius's face. "Yes. That's all."

Not sure if you are the right person to ask this but what is the deal with Gerion's trip to Valyria? Because according to Fire and Blood, after Aerea died Jaehaerys forbid anyone from Westeros from ever going there and ordered than any ship suspected of having been there should be turned away from ports.

Did somebody later overturned that order so it was again legal to go there, did Gerion think it wouldn't apply to him because he's a Lannister or did Tywin find a neat way to get rid of problematic brother without dirtying his hands personally?

I think the No-Prize Answer is that even if this law was still on the books, so to speak, and remembered by anyone (except, say, the platinum-link maesters of the Citadel) by 291 AC, Robert Baratheon was probably not particularly inclined either to recall this bit of history or enforce it as king, especially when it came to his uncle by marriage. Robert was by no means stupid, but his areas of expertise were never highly scholastic, and so a decree issued nearly two and a half centuries prior may not have even registered in Robert’s mind as an important point in his education. Moreover, as king - especially a king almost a decade into his reign by 291 AC - Robert displayed little interest in his role as supreme judicial authority in the realm, calling laws a “tedious business” and bemoaning the work of “listen[ing] to them [i.e. his subjects] complain until my mind is numb and my ass is raw”. It is possible, if not indeed probable, that Robert was too busy hunting, hawking, and/or pursuing a fleeting extramarital affair to even bat an eye at the idea of one of his subjects sailing to the ruins of Valyria, much less whether such a voyage would be legally forbidden.

Too, even if Robert had thought to bring up Jaehaerys I’s decree, he may have refrained from doing so in deference to his Lannister in-laws. It is no secret, certainly by the time of AGOT, that Robert had allowed Lannister influence to flourish at court, to the exclusion of virtually any other aristocratic faction: his acceptance of Tyrek and Lancel Lannister as his squires, his acceptance of Jaime as the Warden of the East following the death of Jon Arryn, his concession to Cersei over Lady at Darry. While Gerion Lannister left Westeros some seven years before the start of the main novels, I could very much believe that Robert had already begun to allow this Lannister domination at court: after all, he had seemingly raised no objection to his (ostensible) firstborn son being given an explicitly Lannister( and to that point, historically pointed) name, nor to his daughter being given a very Lannister-like name (and in fact, I wouldn’t be surprised if Cersei named Tommen after Uncle Gerion himself and his voyage, a nod to the Lannister glory once lost by King Tommen which this favorite uncle hoped to reclaim). I don’t tend to think Tywin engineered Gerion’s voyage - an audaciously confident far-reaching quest to reclaim the symbol of Lannister regal power, undertaken by this most reckless of Tytos Lannister’s sons, doesn’t seem too far off from some of the actions of, say, Jaime or Tyrion - but I do think that if some or all of the Lannisters supported Gerion in this voyage (and funded him going on it), Robert may not have been personally inclined to fight his queen and/or the Lannister faction about it.

Of course, the practical answer is that GRRM introduced the idea of Gerion Lannister sailing to Valyria, (almost certainly) never to return, many years before he described Jaehaerys I forbidding Westerosi from sailing to Valyria. Just as Fire and Blood Volume 1 described the infrastructure improvements in the capital instituted by Jaehaerys I without acknowledging what happened to King’s Landing thereafter to make it the stinking cesspit of the main novels, for example, and alluded to hatchlings and young drakes extant during the reigns of Jaehaerys I and Viserys I without ever explaining why there were no more adult dragons than those we already knew going into that book, so F&B gave us this decree without attempting to reconcile it with the current attitude of the Westerosi legal system toward voyages to the Smoking Sea. It’s entirely possible we get an answer to this apparent contradiction in a future novel, and/or in Fire and Blood Volume 2, but for now it simply remains an apparent unanswered question.

Skykit (3) has always been a bit jumpy, especially with her wind-blessing allowing her to jump extra high.  Now, Pebbletuft (24) has determined that it’s actually partially due to the fact that cats have been approaching her on her bad side.  She was born with one bad eye and no one picked up on it until now.  Also in the nursery, Kestrelcreek (80) is not healing from giving birth as well as Lakepelt (99) had hoped she would.  It’s a little worrying, considering that the last cat to give birth in the Clan, Whorlstem, died from it.  Kestrelcreek doesn’t want to leave her kits and mate (and Brightmouse-66).  Before she realized that she had an infected wound, Kestrelcreek was having a fun time playing with Brightmouse.  They might have to postpone that, now.  With Kestrelcreek not feeling great, Almondback (62) spends some time with the kits and tells jokes about the other Clans to Rimekit (2).  Cherviljumble (96) is impressed with how well the Ground and Sky kits are doing (that’s what I’m calling them now).  The four of them don’t have a parent in the nursery, and Petalkit (3) has been really brave about telling his siblings to give the younger kits some space.  Basalkit (3) is missing having an adult around to cuddle with.  Sweet Marmalade (76)  is just so fluffy and he just wants to cuddle.  Peatkit (3) works together with Basaltkit to sneak into the warriors den to surprise Sweet Marmalade.  With Downgaze (72) out of the healer’s den, he and Alderflight (47) are taking some time together.  They go on a ‘training’ patrol and have a great time racing each other through the woods.  Meanwhile, Dawnfreckle (74) and Burdockpaw (7) continue to not get along.  Dawnfreckle thinks she’s annoying and wishes that she would just do what he asks without trying to undermine him.   Copperpaw (7) feels like Hoppaw (9) has been acting stuck up and rude lately.  Just because she’s a mediator, doesn’t mean she’s better than all of them!  Echopaw (9) really likes spending time with his older sister, Hatchswipe (36).  It’s a good way to get information.  He keeps asking why.  Why do they catch prey like that?  Why are the days getting longer?  Why is there a strange cat talking to him in his dreams?  Hatchswipe doesn’t have an answer for most of them, and is a little worried about the ‘strange cat’.  Creekstar (145) has also been having strange dreams.  She’s worried that it’s Yuccawillow trying to reach her from the Dark Forest.  It’s actually Echomoor, who has decided that the time for silence about Auburnpaw’s death is over.  He hopes to be able to reach either Creekstar or Echopaw soon.

She knows she should wait when he’s free,she knows it, but she couldn’t wait especially after what happened??? After Miranda? She chews her lower lip as she looks down at his contact number on her phone, gardening gloves have been tossed aside as she walks back inside.

She was surprised her fuming hadn’t woken Shells or the kids up.

After a moment of internal debate, Beatrice made a decision. She couldn't wait. She needed to hear Rooster's voice, to share the strange occurrences that had unfolded in his absence. Pulling her phone closer, she took a deep breath and pressed the call button.

The phone rang a few times before Rooster answered, his voice groggy from the late hour. "Bea? Everything okay?"

“Hey…I know it’s late out there,sorry for waking you…”

“No,hey,” he grunts and the bed creaks as he sits up, “Don’t apologize gorgeous. You know I love hearing your voice especially when I’m deployed.”

Beatrice smiled, the warmth in Rooster's voice providing a comforting embrace, even across the miles that separated them. "I just... I needed to talk to you. Something happened, and I couldn't wait."

Rooster's tone shifted to alertness. "What happened? Are you okay?"

Beatrice hesitated for a moment, contemplating how to relay the events without causing unnecessary worry. "Miranda came over today. It was... strange, Rooster. She was saying things, trying to create tension or something again. I don't know what her game is…"

“ What did she say?"

Beatrice recounted the encounter, detailing Miranda's cryptic comments with detail, and Rooster listened attentively, remaining silent so his wife could let everything out without being interrupted.

When Beatrice finished, Rooster let out a heavy sigh. "Damn. I wish I was there, Bea. I don't like the sound of this. What did she want?"

"I have no idea," Beatrice admitted, frustration creeping into her voice. "It felt like she was trying to get under my skin, questioning your abilities as a pilot. It was bizarre, Rooster."

Rooster's tone shifted, a mix of annoyance and concern. "Questioning my abilities? What does she have to do with that?"

"That's what I'm trying to figure out. It's like she's trying to stir up trouble again… I don’t know, is…well,is Mark bothering you guys too?”

A pause.

“You…could say that,gorgeous.”

"What's happening with Mark, Rooster?" Beatrice asked, her voice laced with worry.

"...I can’t say over a call baby" Rooster explained. "Too risky.”

“Are you all safe? Right now?”

"Yeah, we're safe for now. Just dealing with some internal issues. I'll fill you I can,I promise.”

Beatrice exhaled a breath she didn't realize she was holding. "Okay. Just...be careful, Rooster. I don't like the sound of all this."

"Me neither,gorgeous…we’ll be okay," Rooster reassured her “I promise. We can handle…whatever this is.”

Beatrice nodded, even though Rooster couldn't see her. "I know. But it doesn't make it any easier when you're so far away."

"I know,gorgeous…did Miranda…said anything else?”

"Nothing else."

Rooster's voice softened. "I see… Shells is there with you, right?"

"Yeah, Shells has spending some time," Beatrice acknowledged, a small smile touching her lips. "But it's just... I don't want anything jeopardizing the peace we have at home, especially with you away on a mission."

"I know baby. I wish I could do more. Just remember, we're a team, no matter the distance. If anything feels off, trust your instincts, okay?"

"I will, Rooster. Always." she sighs, “I should probably let you go back to sleep.”

Rooster's voice held a comforting note. "I'm not going back to sleep until I know you're okay. Talk to me, Bea. What else is on your mind?"

Beatrice hesitated for a moment, debating whether to share the weight that had settled on her heart. "I just miss you, Rooster. And with all this happening, it feels like the world is a bit shaky."

"I miss you too, Bea. More than you can imagine. But we need to weather this storm, and then I promise I'll come back to you."

Tears welled up in Beatrice's eyes, the longing for Rooster magnified by the distance between them. "I know, Rooster. I just... I worry. About you, about us, about everything."

Rooster's voice softened, "We'll get through this, baby. I'll make it back to you. Just keep our home fires burning, okay?"

"I will," Beatrice whispered, a sniffle escaping her. "I love you, Rooster."

"I love you too, gorgeous. Now, get some rest. We'll talk soon."

After exchanging a few more words, Beatrice reluctantly ended the call. The weight of the conversation lingered in the air, a mix of concern, love, and the underlying uncertainty of the situation. She wiped away a tear, took a deep breath, and dropped her head on top of her folded arms as she rested on the kitchen table.

Jolene whined under her, her huge head plopping on Bea’s thigh as her paw landed on the human’s knee.

Beatrice absentmindedly ran her fingers through Jolene's fur, finding solace in the comforting presence of her loyal companion. As she sat there, Beatrice's mind danced between the happenings of the day.The encounter with Miranda left a lingering unease, like when you swallow bitter medicine. She couldn't shake the feeling that something ominous lurked beneath the surface, something she couldn't quite grasp.

But why?

Why were Miranda and Mark so obsessed with them? This has been happening for so long she couldn’t even figure out a fair reason to.

"You doing okay, Bea?" Shells finally broke the quietude.

“Ah!’ Bea jumped, turning around to see Shells standing by the kitchen door, holding the twins to her chest while Nicole wobbled over to her mother. Bea sighed, picking Nicole up and standing to check on the other two, “Sorry,I…didn’t hear you.”

Shells grinned, gently rocking the twins in her arms. "No worries, Bea. You looked lost in thought. Everything okay?"

Beatrice sighed, her gaze drifting towards the window as if seeking answers in the starlit sky. "I just had a chat with Rooster. Miranda's visit today... it's been lingering on my mind. I can't shake this feeling of unease."

“...Miranda was here?”

“Oh,oh yeah you…were all asleep on the couch…you didn’t hear me by the door?”

Shells shook her head, a perplexed expression on her face. "No, I must've been out like a light. What happened with Miranda?"

Beatrice recounted the encounter with Miranda,  and Shells listened attentively, her brow furrowing as she processed the information.

"That's weird," Shells commented, her eyes narrowing in thought. "But…considering everything,I’m not surprised.”

Beatrice shrugged, her eyes reflecting the weariness that had settled into her bones. "I wish I knew what she wanted, Shells. Rooster mentioned some internal issues in the squadron, and now this with Miranda"

Shells gently rocked the twins, a thoughtful look on her face. "Maybe we should beat her up."

“Shells!”

“Beat er up!” Nicole giggled, throwing her little fists up.

“No-Shells,please don’t mention violence in front of my kids.”

Shells chuckled, her eyes twinkling with mischief. "Alright, alright. No violence in front of the kids. We'll just have to outsmart her. Maybe throw her off with kindness or confuse her with some gardening trivia."

Beatrice rolled her eyes, but a small smile played on her lips. "I appreciate the sentiment, Shells, but I just want things to settle down. Between Rooster being away, the breach, and now Miranda's mysterious antics, its a lot."

Shells nodded in agreement. "Yeah, it's a lot to handle. But if Miranda wants to play games, she'll soon find out she picked the wrong opponents."

The twins, sensing the shift in energy, began to squirm in Shells' arms. Aurora reached out towards Beatrice, her tiny fingers trying to grasp onto her mother's hair.

"Looks like they want you, Bea," Shells chuckled, carefully passing the twins back to their mother as Bea but Nicole down. "I'll make some coffee. We might need it for our plotting against Miranda."

Beatrice cradled the twins in her arms, planting a soft kiss on each of their foreheads. "Thanks, Shells. I’d like that."

"Any word from Rooster?" Shells asked, as she marched over to the coffee maker, letting Bea handle the babies for a little while.

“I called him a few minutes ago."

“Yeah?”

“What did he say?”

“That I should listen to my gut if something feels off,” Bea smiles softly as she places the twins down on their bouncers a bit before preparing herself to feed them while Nicole walked over to her high chair, waiting to be settled.

Shells looked at her from the coffee maker,smirking a bit, “Well he doesn’t have to worry about that,does he? Gut feeling is our specialty.”

“It is?”

“I mean,I had a gut feeling you and Rooster would end up together, and surprise to no one, I was right!”

"Yeah, well, your gut feeling about Rooster and me was probably the only one that worked out."

Shells returned to the living room with two steaming mugs of coffee, handing one to Beatrice before taking a seat across from her. "True, I might not be the best fortune teller, but I make a killer cup of coffee. So spill, what's the plan, Bea?"

Beatrice puts Nicole on her high chair and then tilts her head ‘Plan?”

Shells took a thoughtful sip of her coffee, her eyes locking onto Beatrice's. "You know, for dealing with Miranda. What's our strategy? Besides not beating her up, of course."

"I'm not sure, Shells. If she wants drama, let's not give it to her."

Shells leaned back in her chair, crossing her legs. "Ignoring her works for so long. Then what?"

Beatrice sighed, the weight of the situation settling back onto her shoulders. "I don't want to give her the satisfaction of knowing she's getting to us. Let's focus on our own circle.But for now, let's not let Miranda's games distract us."

“Hmmm…”

“I know you hate that idea.”

“You are absolutely right.” Shells says, “I hate it.“I’m just sayin’ we need to be proactive.” 

“I know…”

“Yeah..” Shells pulls out her phone, “Good thing I called Aunt Penny then! She can give us some advice,” if she noticed Bea’s wide eyed look she ignored it and kept on talking “You know she can help us out.’

“Shells.”

“And Mav.” oh God. “He can help us too!”

It was over.

The boogey apolace was done, which meant Scott could finally catch his breath, he's never been so tired before.

His limbs ached from sprinting everywhere, his clothes were uncomfortably heavy from hiding water.

But it didn't matter anymore because it was all over, all that was left was to meet up at the secret keeper and try to get some answers to all of his questions.

He could feel his pace pick up when he saw the ominous statue, and it didn't take him long to start to see everyone else.

They were all split in different groups, most of everyone was on one side, close to the fail button, shoulders slumped and patting each other's back, and then Cleo, Grian and Martyn where just sitting on a rock just idly chatting.

Scott could feel himself beam.

Cleo was alright.

He had been so worried that they had gotten hurt since they had parted.

"Cleo!" He shouted as he raced over to the trio.

Cleo perked up, standing up with a big smile, "Scott! there you are! we were starting to get worried you hadn't shown up for a bit"

"So tired" Scott chuckled out as he tackled Cleo into a tight hug, nearly knocking down the zombie right off of her feet.

"I can understand why" Cleo laughed, holding Scott tightly before kissing the top of his head, and in turn, he kissed their cheek.

Something they had been doing for ages now, it started lightly in 3rd life, but really took off in last life when they properly teamed up.

"Come on, lets go get our answers" Cleo said, moving to grab Scott's hand before patting Grian's shoulder to get him to stand up as well.

The entire room is full of loud screaming and yelling, people congregating around Lily as she shows off the diamond on her finger, given to her by Pandora.

But Regulus hangs behind, weary of the fanfare and what it represents.

"Alright, Reg?" James asks him, finding his way back and wrapping one arm around his waist, eyes full of concern.

"Yeah," he mumbles, looking down.

Marriage is a difficult subject. He's been nervous about it for as long as he can remember. Seeing his parents' tumultuous relationship and being told he would basically be sold off to the highest bidder when he was younger lefts scars. Thankfully, when he finally told James about his hesitations, his boyfriend was amazing about it. "I just want to be with you, baby," he'd said lovingly, pressing a kiss to his temple.

But watching Lily and Pandora now, he feels the confusing array of emotions swirl in his mind once again.

"What does marriage mean to you?" he asks James, meeting his eyes.

"Oh...erm..." the other man looks caught off-guard, but he tilts his head to the side and took a moment to think before answering. "it just means...belonging to each other. And not in a bad way!" he says quickly, obviously sensing Regulus's concern. "But like...showing everyone else that...my heart is yours. That our lives are intertwined. That there's nobody more important than you."

Regulus's heart fills at the words.

"It's not that I don't already feel that way," James clarifies, smiling. "It's just a nice way to make it official, I guess."

And as Regulus watches his best friends enjoy the well wishes and spotlight, arms around each other, he considers that. "That...that might be okay. Someday."

"Yeah?" James asks, looking thrilled.

"Yeah."

"sometimes i forget you're a pro at this," harry said, with elbows pressed right before gis knees.

"you understimate me. unfortunately not for the first time, hmm?" yn pat his bare back, moving few metres in front of her boyfriend. "come on! let's do some stretching and then a run back home."

harry's eyes windened, "you trying to kill me, darling?"

"no, absolutely not. still haven't used you to meet thee queen swift." they laughed, sitting down on the grass.

it was a beautiful day in London when yn and harry decided to use it for good - or for running, depends on your definition of a well-spent morning. the hyde park was unusually calm and quiet, serving it's utter beauty often overlooked by dozens of people trying to get the best view of the city beyond them.

harry had a day off after one of four concerts at wembley stadium this year, and yn just arrived in london two days ago in preparation for wimbledon. after all those months trying to find a moment when it was possible to call or even text each other, they finally were able to wake up together and enjoy this quality time to the brim. it was quite surreal.

"harry, stretch."

"i don't want to," he longed the syllables in the act of annoyance and tiredness.

"i'm not going to make you, but -" she stopped stretching her calf muscles and looked him dead in the eyes. "you're going to regret it in the morning tomorrow, believe me."

harry groaned, and like an upset toddler sat up straighter and started stretching. yn smirked slightly to herself in victory. it was all for his health, and the feelings of pride and win were just a bonus.

"did you bring any bag with you, baby?" harry asked, humour much less grumpy.

"i have this foldable one in your funny pack. what do you need it for?"

harry didn't answer. well, verbally, he didn't answer. instead, he took off his t-shirt, folded it carefully, and put on the grass. yn swallowed, blushing a little bit.

harry smirked, "you're ogling me."

like being woken up from the trance, yn darted her eyes behind harry to the view beside him. her mind, although, still replaying the former one.

"tsk, tsk. gotcha, preying eyes." He laughed, patting yn's knee and then immediately smoothing his hand across it, squeezing three times. "you know I don't mind it."

"oh, I know. you love attention."

"yours."

"sorry?"

"i love your attention," he emphasised, looking yn directly in the eye. little smile adoring his features.

yn blushed, hiding her face in her hands.

"you're too good at this, too good."

"thank you."

harry placed his hand firstly on yn's and then delicately moved it away from her face so he could look at her. "much better."

"wanna run home now?"

"in a moment."

and before she could ask what he'd wanted to wait for, his lips were on hers, connecting them in a loving kiss. no matter how many times they shared those loving moments together, she couldn't stop feeling full of butterflies in her stomach.

"you're right. i love all the attention." harry smirked, quickly standing up and being ready to run.

"you little-"

"okay, now we can go!" harry screamed, running down the hill.

WATERLOO, Iowa (KWWL) -- Several residents of Waterloo neighborhoods have woken up to flyers dispersed across their yards and doors Sunday morning.

Waterloo Police say they've received several reports of the flyers- which they do not believe is an immediate threat.

The flyers say, "your race is calling, will you answer?" and direct people to a website. It says it was distributed 'without malicious intent.'

Josh Surprenant found the flyer on his property Sunday afternoon. He says he's very upset.

"I'm disgusted. This is my hometown, born and raised in Waterloo, and to just find this laying in my yard, not to mention my son seen it, and he's absolutely disgusted just like me, and it's something I can't shelter him from, I'm just absolutely enraged," he said.

Waterloo Police say the distribution of the flyers is only a littering offense. Surprenant says he understands it may not be a serious criminal charge, but he believes the people behind the flyers should be apprehended.

"It's their rights to be able to do this and it's their amendments and their freedoms I guess, but never mind the people that it's affecting or traumatizing," he said, adding, "I hope people can do better. This is absolutely disgusting and the people that did this are probably sitting there, watching and laughing, getting kicks out. Disgusting. Do better. America, do better, Waterloo, do better, people."

Police ask if anyone has credible surveillance or ring camera footage of suspicious activity they believe could be tied to the flyer distribution to report it to officers immediately.

Rafe and Y/N, had been together for nearly two years, and they were madly in love. They spent all their time together, and they talked about everything with each other.

However, over the past few weeks, Rafe had been acting strange. He would cancel plans at the last minute, and he never seemed to have time for Y/N. When they were together, he was distant and aloof, and he would hardly speak at all.

Y/N tried to talk to Rafe about what was going on, but he always brushed her off. She began to feel like he was hiding something from her, and she became increasingly anxious and upset.

One day, Y/N decided that enough was enough. She confronted Rafe and asked him what was going on. Rafe hesitated for a moment before finally admitting the truth: he had fallen out of love with Y/N.

Y/N was heartbroken. She didn't understand how Rafe could just stop loving her after all they had been through together. She tried to ask him what she had done wrong, but he didn't have any answers.

After a tearful and emotional conversation, Y/N and Rafe decided that it was best to end their relationship. They both knew that they couldn't go on pretending that everything was okay when it clearly wasn't.

It took Y/N a long time to heal from the breakup, but she eventually came to accept that sometimes people fall out of love for reasons that are beyond our control. She learned to embrace the present moment and not to take anything for granted, knowing that love is fragile and always in need of attention and care.

I hope you don’t take this the wrong way because I’m genuinely trying to find out more —- I am Anglican Christian but I’ve always been interested and recenrly been looking more into the Catholic Church so I wondered why Purgatory is a thing and why catholics typically believe this? :)

Purgatory for us is a thing definitely. In a general sense, Catholics believe there has to be a temporary place of purification of sin before you enter Heaven. As Catholics, we believe no one can enter Heaven with sin. That’s the most basic concept of why we believe in Purgatory.

This is what the Catechism of the Catholic Church (second edition) says about Purgatory…

“The Final Purification, or Purgatory

1030 All who die in God’s grace and friendship, but still imperfectly purified, are indeed assured of their eternal salvation; but after death they undergo purification, so as to achieve the holiness necessary to enter the joy of heaven.

1031 The Church gives the name Purgatory to this final purification of the elect, which is entirely different from the punishment of the damned. The Church formulated her doctrine of faith on Purgatory especially at the Councils of Florence and Trent. The tradition of the Church, by reference to certain texts of Scripture, speaks of a cleansing fire:

As for certain lesser faults, we must believe that, before the Final Judgement, there is a purifying fire. He who is truth says that whoever utters blasphemy against the Holy Spirit will be pardoned neither in this age nor in the age to come. From this sentence we understand that certain offenses can be forgiven in this age, but certain others in the age to come.
