time traveler chadley: *explains the plot of ff7* and that's all :)
sephiroth:
sephiroth: while that was a lot of information, you have given me no reason to trust you, even if you claim to be my "brother"-
chadley: your mother is lucrecia crescent, wife of simon hojo and scientist for shinra's research and development division, born july 22 and currently in an underwater cave in the nibelheim region :)
sephiroth: !!!
Sephiroth: Hm, no. Tempting as they may be to believe, my mother's name was Jenova. Furthermore, I cannot be a brother to a machine. Even though Hojo created you and raised me, I cannot compare my existence to that of an artificial being.
Chadley, enraged: Jenova is an alien, you bastard :)
Sephiroth: !!!

Okay I know I keep saying I'm gonna do a big post about Vincent in Rebirth and I've kinda been waiting until both my besties have gotten to him so that I can explode at both of them about him first, but there is one point that I've talked about a bit on the twits and I'm gonna babble about over here in greater detail.
There won't be a lot (if any?) direct spoilers here, but I'll be using screenshots that are absolutely spoilers to drive the point home, so keep that in mind.
Tumblr media
Babbling under the cut.
One thing that really strikes me about Vincent's design in Rebirth is how he looks so...young. There's no other way to describe it, he looks young. In Advent Children and Dirge of Cerberus he had this sort of agelessness to him, particularly when compared to the rest of the cast; it was hard to get a read on how old he was aside from "younger than Hojo" because of this. He could have been anywhere from 25 to 35 at a glance, and up into a healthy 40+ during some scenes.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
In Rebirth, that agelessness has been completely thrown out, and the only thing lending even an iota of uncertainty to his age is how covered up he is. The moment you see anything more than his eyes, it's excessively clear that this is a man in his mid-twenties, no older.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
It's particularly obvious when he's confused or in pain, moments when he's not tooling his expression into something more neutral, when wouldn't be consciously presenting himself a specific way.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
At a glance, Vincent is definitely older than Cloud, sure, but he's undeniably younger than Barret and Cid, he's younger than the majority of the extended cast—Reeve, Tseng, Rufus, the "emissary from Wutai," et cetera. He might even be younger than Sephiroth.
This makes the incongruity between his apparent age and his behavior hit particularly hard, in a way that it was never really able to in the Compilation thus far.
The way Vincent talks is off, noticeably off, and not just in a way to indicate education or accent—the way he structures his sentences follows grammatical standards from decades ago. Him commenting "if we're to stay the night" at Gold Saucer is one that really sticks out to me, because when other characters use similar sentence structure in the series (Genesis is the most egregious example of this) it's explicitly an indication that they're speaking in an old-fashioned way, they're being intentionally over-the-top. Vincent, though? He isn't doing that. The comment is so simple and offhand, there's no question that this is just how Vincent talks.
But he's a man in his twenties.
Vincent knows Dio as an antique collector, even though it's been over twenty years since he was in that business—Cid is the one that calls him out on this, because Cid clearly "knows" that he's older than Vincent, and Vincent brushes him off with a simple statement: "I've been around a while."
But he's...a man in his twenties?
When Cid warns him that the Tiny Bronco's radio is old enough to be considered an antique, Vincent is pleased—and in spite of having failed to properly operate the brick-phone-outdated security system in the mansion earlier, he has no problems operating the aforementioned antique radio.
But he's a man in his twenties! He's obviously a man in his twenties!
The juxtaposition between his appearance and his behavior is so stark as to be distressing; even if you don't know what happened to him, you can tell that there's something terribly wrong here.
Tumblr media
Because Vincent Valentine is a man in his twenties, and he will be until the end of the world.

What do you think the reactions of AVALACHE and Co were when they found out about sephiroth's psyco-obssesive infatuation on cloud?
Like, the first time they encounter sephiroth at shinra labs and found out that sephiroth is the main reason Cloud has been having migraine episodes and everything, and at some point they have to realise that the way sephiroth treats Cloud Vs literally anyone else is (especially the fixation he seems to have on targeting Tifa or Aerith) an example textbook example of possessive and obsessive behavior.
I'm going to write out what I think everyone said when they realized the sheer extent of Sephiroth's obsession with Cloud.
Barret: Barret doesn't actually say anything, he just prays that Marlene doesn't get stuck with a stalker when she gets older.
Tifa: This is a terrible time to be your childhood friend. I'm going to be the first one he kills, aren't I?
Aerith: Don't worry Cloud, we'll be here to support you. We'll all stay by your side to the end of this journey and Sephiroth is defeated!
Sephiroth, in Cloud's head: Yeah, she shouldn't promise you that.
Nanaki: Like Barret, he also doesn't say anything about it. But after Sephiroth encounters or a bad headache incident, he stays close to Cloud and lets Cloud pat him a little. He can smell the stress radiating off of Cloud after these incidents, so he puts aside his dislike of being treat like a pet and offers Cloud a small pass.
Cait: Ta' be honest, his behaviour is about wha' you'd expect from a Shinra higher up. I heard ya' can get promoted if you assault enough people.
Yuffie: It's kinda romantic, in like, an insane serial killer way.
Cloud: Shut the fuck up, Yuffie.
Cid: The string of curses and insults he said are too graphic to ever be repeated and has left a lasting impacting on all those who heard it.
Vincent: God I hope he's not my kid.
Cloud: What?
Vincent: I said "God that sucks for you, kid."

Au: Cloud has to take care and raise toddler remnants 😆
Send me an AU and I'll give you 5+ headcanons about it
1. Cloud was sure Aerith's healing rain was supposed to send them back to the Lifestream, to dissolve them and return their forms to the free-flowing strands they once originated from. But they did not. Instead they shrunk, and shrunk, and shrunk, until suddenly instead of whisking away green into the sky, a chubby-cheeked remnant toddler lays in his hands. And two more laid on the ground a few feet away from him. Unsure of what to do, for the time being, Cloud brought them back to Seventh Heaven.
2. The remnants would not vanish. They were stuck here with them now as toddlers. But at least they weren't hellbent on killing anything anymore. (Merely hellbent on turning Seventh Heaven upside-down and giving everyone inside headaches from their antics). Kadaj remained the leader of the others, standing tall and proud at 4 and a half (anything older or younger would get a very loud protest). He got into everything he could, ran with sharp objects, and threw the poutiest tantrums. Yazoo stood in the middle right at 4 and was the quietest out of the brood. He got involved in some high-strung incidents with his brothers, but was main the most level-headed. He was still prone to fits and pouts however. But Cloud was lucky a good book could calm him down. And Loz stood wobbly at 3, having the most energy and getting into the most trouble. Constantly running around, jumping off furniture, screaming and shouting, and throwing himself to the ground when things didn't go his way, crying the longest and loudest out of the three.
3. It was hard and awkward to get used to. After all the trouble they caused, half the time Cloud wanted to wad up a newspaper and smack their noses like dogs. Marlene and Denzel were a little wary at first but grew the fastest to accept them as part of their crazy family. They saved Cloud and Tifa from a lot of headaches and threats, they'll say that much. After a while, they ended up becoming part of the Strife's.
4. Aerith visited Cloud in his dreams one night and asked how he was handling the new additions. He asked her why they didn't rejoin the Lifestream, but she just smiled and shrugged, 'Guess they're still really attached to their big brother.' Zack was with her and smiled as well. 'You're just a really popular guy, Cloud. And don't worry, we'll save places for all of you eventually.' He rolled his eyes at both of them, but he couldn't stop himself from smiling.
5. Getting the party reintroduced to the remnants as toddlers and not as world-ending antagonists took some adjustment as well. But the ended up coming around with their own stipulations. Cid was 'don't let those brats touch anything in my ship and we're cool' Vincent didn't say much, but if he wanted space from them he'd give him his phone and let them play centipede on it. Yuffie said 'stay away from my materia, unless we're up to something together then they can use it, because it's more fun that way!' Red XIII did not enjoy becoming a furry taxi to the three toddlers, but he was okay with it as well as some good-natured pets every once in a while so long as they didn't call him a dog. Barret took the longest to adjust as they had put Marlene in danger before, but when figuring out they turned into regular, crazy toddlers, warmed up to them much easier. Cait sith preferred to keep his distance from them based off that one time when the kids fought over who could play with him and nearly ripped him into three uneven pieces. But he didn't mind them aside from that he supposed. (He much preferred Marlene's tea parties though.)

a very old ff7 fic scrap I found and still like
even though it never got around to what's actually wrong with Cloud. (spoiler: he was gonna grow a wing lol) I just like it for some AVALANCHE interactions.
*
Cid had known for quite a while that Nibelheim was always going to be a hurt for Cloud and Tifa. This was his first time being in the village himself, but Yuffie had blabbed about AVALANCHE's drive-by of it to him years ago, back when Cloud had gone--shit, there wasn't a good word to describe it--he'd gone and handed the black materia to Sephiroth, then disappeared in the collapse of the crater. The little oddities that had been there all along and the big fucking neon signs of underlying weirdness had come to the forefront of everyone's mind and they'd all talked about Cloud. Even him, newest to the group as he was, he'd noticed some things. But he hadn't known about the cover-up job done on the past Cloud had claimed to have, that Tifa had been adamant they'd shared. "So they said it was gone, and we get there and hel-lo! Totally there. And I was thinking yeesh, I know someone said fire--what, like a kitchen fire? Because nothing was missing. It looked like your perfectly ordinary yawn-and-put-it-on-a-postcard dinky town. But then we got further in, and...some of the things there..." The fact that Yuffie had then started to go quiet had told Cid a lot more than a thousand of her babbled words would have, and certainly more than her faltering conclusion of "there was seriously bad mojo" had. ("No shit, you found Vincent there.") When even the loudmouthed brat was tiptoeing on a subject, you knew it was sensitive like a sunburn.
So he'd known it had hurt back then, and that was why about a year ago, when a sweet, stubborn, didn't-know-how-to-take-a-load-off-even-when-she-was-dead flower girl gave them a way to heal Geostigma and he suddenly had a fuckton of transportation jobs ahead of him, getting victims all over the world to her church, Cid had mentioned to Cloud and Tifa as an aside that in the first batch, along with some folk from his town (and he didn't give a damn if that was unfair bias or not: it was his airship, and it was The Shera for a reason), were going to be people from Nibelheim, if they had any sick to send. Casually, just letting them know so they didn't get surprised if someone mentioned it later on, or if they saw a face from a bad run-in. Tifa's pleasant smile had gone pinched, like she'd just bitten into a lemon--or she was debating how hard she needed to punch something--while Cloud's shyer one didn't exactly change so much as get left behind by his suddenly remote eyes. They'd been talking about cleaning up Aerith's church after the mess of fights with the Sephiroth remnants, and keeping an eye on it with the influx of strangers sure to come, and somehow Cid had just known that they were thinking something neither of them would ever say: nothing from their hell of a hometown should touch the church's sanctity, Aerith's memory. They both knew damn well they couldn't say it because they were talking about sick people. But they'd faltered, and Barret had blundered in to say he'd be the one there to meet the airship and make sure everything went smoothly in the church, and that had pretty much said it all to Cid. Nibelheim, and the concerted effort of scores of actors to bury it under a replacement, was always going to one hell of a sore point for them. So being in Nibelheim now, Cid had known there was going to be some weirdness with Cloud. Especially with them going up to the reactor itself, a structure that AVALANCHE had given healthy distance in their traveling. He'd even offered the guy an out before the airship had touched down: they'd checked every other reactor across the continents and hadn't found a hint of anything insidious like Deepground had been--the former, literally underground organization being the reason why they were globetrotting now, checking every old Shinra structure, reactor or otherwise, and making sure there was no way they were hiding something that would fester and blow up in everyone's face later. The town was the last place they could think of to check, and Vincent and some WRO crew had already swept through mansion once, probably wasn't anything up in the reactor if the other reactors were clean, so in that case he and Vincent (and oh, yeah, like Vincent was going to have barrels of fun in the mansion, but he was more cool about it) could handle what was simple recon-- The younger man had straightly looked Cid back in the eye like he was a fucking moron for taking chances where Nibelheim was concerned and reminded the pilot that the whole excursion had largely been his idea to start with. "I'll be...fine. Just tell me if I'm acting off." Well, shit, what was off when it came to re-experiencing the place where your life had gotten flushed down the drain? That required honest thought. Cid figured it'd be off if Cloud didn't act weird at all. So tension could slide. Tight-lippedness around the current residents could slide, even if Cid loathed doing all the talking since Vincent sure wouldn't contribute more than his bare minimum of a chipped two-gil. When the blond's head jerked to the left and the woman who'd emerged from a shop in that direction did a double-take, that was off. It quickly grew to 'worrying' as the woman, who looked a good few years above Cid's age, shrank against the entrance and held her handbag against herself like a shield, while Cloud's look continued long enough to be reclassified to stare without seeming like he was truly seeing her or remotely considering the effect he was having on her. Cid knew from his days as a Shinra pilot that a SOLDIER's glare was
commonly intimidating; ignorance about the mako glow didn't keep a person from seeing an inexplicable, disconcerting quality in an insanely strong man's eyes. The fact that Cloud hadn't really been SOLDIER didn't make a difference there. Most folk didn't know that tidbit. They did know his name and face for having been able to kill the world's strongest one. "I doubt you're staring 'cause she's a looker, so quit it," Cid muttered out of the side of his mouth. "Huh?" Cloud sounded as lost as someone hit by the confusion spell, his eyes wide as he half-turned to Cid. The lady must have thought she'd been in a stare-down with a bear instead of a man; as soon as Cloud's eyes were off her she scurried across the open space of the village to what was presumably her home, an unremarkably humble one-story, and rushed to get in. "She looked like a hag to me, personally." "...Cid." Heh. Guy was definitely back on the ground with them if he could get prissy over a little language. Though when the front door of the house slammed closed, Cloud reacted to the sound, wincing and just barely managing to check himself from looking to it. Vincent did observe the door, apparently drawing thoughts similar to Cid's about the possibilities of the residence. "You seemed to recognize her." Well. Vincent wasn't much for conversational gambits, but Cid figured that broached the question fine enough and just quirked a brow at Cloud. They could talk about it or keep moving; the guy's call. Come to think about it, he'd recognized her. One of the Geostigma passengers. Probably Barret had been a smart man, then, relieving Cloud and Tifa of any greeting duties for that batch. "...I went into my mother's house," Cloud said slowly, confirming their thoughts, "and she was there. She said I was sick, for saying--" He laughed, quick and mirthless, and ducked his eyes from any scrutiny. "I was sick, yeah." Sick from having his head fucked around with, and even if Nibelheim's reconstruction had just been icing on the cake at that point, it had still been shit icing. Cid summed up his feelings with a hocked loogie and thumb of his nose. "With that kind of act, she knows what she said was a load of crap. Don't think about it." Easier said than done, no one could pretend otherwise, but Cloud nodded, his pained expression smoothing into a more familiar focus. "Yeah. Let's get this done." His tension actually eased in the mansion. Not completely, but Cid snorted to see the kid's shoulders loosen, his arms move a bit more naturally--ready for a fight and probably anxious about memories, but not scared of a confrontation he couldn't handle. "Cid?" "What?" he drawled back. The younger man's brow wrinkled in confusion before he shrugged it off and turned to Vincent. "You okay?" "Of course," came the predictably toneless response. "I know these nightmares well." ...He was putting on the airs again. Two pairs of blue eyes met each other and rolled. It was a fucking hoot: sometimes, Cloud and Vincent were perfectly on the same wavelength. But sometimes? Cloud was definitely more on Cid's. Which was a good thing, as Cid was pretty sure he would've pitched both his friends off the Highwind years back if they were always swapping talk of sins and guilt and shit. Vincent was a decent guy, but the world didn't need two of him. This kind of exchange was so familiar to the three that the melodramatic ex-Turk simply ignored both blonds, stalking further into the mansion. Cloud picked up his pace to cover Vincent's side, while Cid had their backs. Granted, nothing was likely to get the drop on Vincent or Cloud in the first place. If anything, they'd hear the monster before Cid saw it, so the pilot was more literally watching their backs, idly watching to see if they were more bugged than they'd let on. And after a few more minutes and a fight with those weirdass chain-danglers--almost human, but not, with strong arms to swing by and blades instead of legs--Cid realized he'd caught something off, if not what he'd been looking for. "Huh. The hell is that, kid?
Your shoulder still acting up?" "...Sometimes," Cloud admitted as he re-holstered his fused sword. "You could tell?" "I asked, 'course I could tell." Actually, he'd nearly missed it. It'd only been a momentary tensing of the shoulder, tell-tale because Cid realized he'd seen the gesture back in their visit to Gongaga as well. "Shit, you're only twenty-three--" "Twenty-four." "--yeah, okay. Too young to be fallin' apart. Next you'll be bitching about your hips coming out of place." Cloud pursed his lips, looking frustrated that this was even a topic for discussion. "I don't know. It started after the fight with Deepground. I must have gotten hit there, and not realized until it was too late to catch with a Restore." "Well, if anyone could pull off something that boneheaded..." Dumbass had probably gotten too distracted in the worry over Vincent's disappearance. Cid hadn't worried at all, because he had a full crew to bark out search and rescue orders to. Still, it was strange that injury would be bugging Cloud even now. Deepground had been weeks ago. And then Vincent was either perceptive or just plain pessimistic enough to ask a question the pilot hadn't even considered. "Is it getting better, or worse?" And judging from Cloud's hesitance, pessimism was justified. Incredulous, Cid glared first at tall-dark-and-morbid, then turned on short-blond-and-stupid. "Why the fuck would it get worse, and why the fuck haven't you said anything?" Cloud (currently dubbed dumb knucklehead in Cid's train of thought) gave an exaggerated sigh. "We'd already crossed the Corel mountains by the time I realized it wasn't going away. I want this done, and then I'll--" He pursed his lips, obviously having to think, obviously having originally planned to just mosey on home without even thinking about it. "--I'll check at WRO headquarters if Dr. Watts is there." Of course. Watts had been one of the first medical personnel invited to work with the WRO in providing charitable public health services, as Reeve had been well aware of both the man's altruism and resourcefulness in caring for Cloud when he washed up as a vegetable on the shore of Mideel, only peripherally aware of the world around him. Which was the same reason the man had found himself in the odd position of being the sole medical personnel willingly visited by one otherwise notoriously doctor-shy Jenova War hero, like he'd managed to bypass part of a crippling fear of chemical smells, scalpels and needles simply by not being cruel to a helpless human being. ...Not that anyone particularly liked thinking about Cloud's previous experience with doctors; they focused on the fact that there actually existed one he would go to see before being completely incapacitated by injury or disease. "All right?" Though with his stubbornness, he'd still wait until he was half-blind with pain. "Pft. Making me sound like a worrywart..." "I killed half a dozen monsters yesterday, Cid. I don't think you 'sound like' anything." "Hnf." Cid chewed on his cigarette and had to grudgingly conclude the kid might be right. It seemed odd with how quick he usually healed up, but Cloud's fighting ability was at its usual par despite the injury. They'd fought through worse. "...What, you too, Vincent?" Vincent quirked a dark eyebrow at Cloud's plaintive tone. "Merely thinking." When Cloud cocked his head, he added, "it might annoy you, but the concern should be appreciated." The way he said 'concern', might as well just make it 'motherhenning'. Cid spluttered. "Jump off a cliff and fucking--I'm not--" Vincent had to be smirking under his mantle, the way he dipped his face, and Cloud didn't have anything to hide his amusement behind. Assholes. Cid told them as much before demanding they get their lily-asses in gear again. He didn't let his crew keep them waiting, so like hell he'd let them keep the crew waiting with their precious little chit-chat.

The draft I wrote this on is named "fuck you kaley" just so you know
Cloud stared into the mirror and grimaced at what Cid had called "some kinda space puberty", which was entirely too generous of a word for it in Cloud's opinion. He had to actively work to keep his ears from flattening against his skull in order to take a look at them.
A few days ago he could've hidden them in his hair, or worn a hat. Now, though, the large, fuzzy triangles sitting atop his head were far too noticeable for what they were. To say nothing of his tail. That he now had. Apparently. He had a tail now.
He knew Hojo had done a lot more gene splicing with him than just Jenova, but he'd sort of figured that meant taking a gene that helped him produce more or less of a certain chemical, or improved his resistance to cold. Not... whatever this was.
The ears he could sort of understand -- with them now much wider and on top of his head, able to swivel independently, his already enhanced hearing improved that much more. What advantage did the tail possibly offer, though? Aside from making chairs harder to sit in, or getting caught in doors, or making everyone stare at him because it was obvious they were absolutely dying to touch it, to see if it was real.
He could cut it off, probably -- but then, due to his healing factor and the fact that this was apparently coded into his DNA, it would just grow back. His ears were another matter; they wouldn't migrate back down to the sides of his head if he cut those off. And taking a blade to something attached to his head was just asking for trouble.
He glanced back at the bathroom door. He'd been locked in here for two hours, after Tifa had given one an experimental scratch and he'd leaned into her and actually started purring, to his complete and utter mortification. He'd have to go back out eventually. Someone was gonna have to use the toilet or something.
It wasn't just the ears, though. Or even the tail. Nanaki had a tail and he managed just fine -- even gave Cloud some tips to help him keep it out of the way of slamming doors. Going out in public with cat ears and a tail wasn't the worst thing in the world when he already got looks for going out in public with his freak eyes. He'd been getting stares from disapproving strangers as long as he could remember. And at the end of the day, his family certainly didn't seem to mind. (Barret and Tifa had been entirely too enthusiastic about them, in fact.) They were either neutral or in-denial-about-not-being-neutral-leaning-towards-positive about the whole thing, and those were the only opinions he cared about anyway.
They'd been neutral-to-positive about the skirts, and he'd been way more anxious to let them find out about that. In isolation, a tail really wasn't that bad.
But...
It was his body. It was his body, he'd fought tooth and nail for years to be able to say that. What would he look like in two years? In ten? Would he even be recognisable? At least Sephiroth had been born looking the way he had.
It was the principle of the thing. He had purred earlier: How much of his body had changed internally to allow that without him even realising it until the tail had sprouted? Could he still eat fruit, or was he an obligate carnivore now? Even after all these years, he still didn't know exactly what had been done to him.
Maybe he could just decide to look different, the way things infected with Jenova could. But he'd never tried before, and there was no one left that could teach him, the way Nanaki could teach him how to have a tail.
He rubbed the bridge of his nose with a heavy sigh and allowed his ears to flatten. And now he was thinking about the lifespan thing, and he really, really didn't want to have to think about the lifespan thing.
It didn't do any good to think about the lifespan thing, he forcibly reminded himself even as he continued to think about it, when he was still young and wouldn't be visibly aging that much anyway. If he was lucky, he'd get to grow old along with his family the normal way. If he was a bit less lucky, he'd either die young from cancer, or after two or three centuries, both as a result of the enhancements as well. If it was the former, well... he could make his peace with that. If it was the latter, he'd get to keep Nanaki and Vincent company for a while, before eventually returning to the Planet to rest.
Worst case scenario, he wound up like Jenova Herself, and just kept going. Until his loved ones, even Nanaki and Vincent, grew old and died, until he didn't even recognise the world anymore, much less himself. Until they were both too warped by time and all the hidden defects in the building blocks that made them up to be anything he could call home. Until the Planet itself crumbled into dust. Until --
One of his ears itched. Without even thinking, he flicked it a few times before reaching up to scratch it. Like a cat. Like a fucking cat.
He took a deep breath, and let it out, and immediately felt stupid. Maybe he'd gradually devolve into a pile of meat over ten thousand years and maybe he wouldn't, and in the meantime he had no way of knowing and he was standing here in a bathroom panicking over his ears.
He could deal with them first. Maybe Nanaki had tips. Though, Nanaki didn't bother to hide half his body language around them, since not many of them knew how to interpret a tail.
His own was puffed up and curled down between his legs, he realised. And, more to the point, he was going to have to cut holes in a lot of pairs of pants, unless he wanted to resign himself to the discomfort of sitting on it.
That might not be a bad idea, he mused. Definitely an improvement over broadcasting how stressed out he was.
"You're not coughing up hairballs in there, are you?" came a voice from outside the door. Cloud grunted. Yuffie. Figures it'd be her.
"Yeah, laugh it up," he shot. "Out in a sec." He straightened up, and did his best to relax his tail, and then the rest of him. Just ears. Just a tail. Just more parts of his body.
Then he adjusted the collar of his maid outfit and stepped back outside.

Dream or Reality (Noctis x Reader)
I wrote this fic years ago. So, I fixed up a little and decided to post it here. I have also posted it in devianart under LastMoogleHunter. Happy reading!
“Aaaaahhh….what a boring day, always the same. There’s nothing new, nothing makes me excited.” I sighed for the umpteenth times. I see, I haven’t introduced myself, my name is [Name] [Last Name], I am 12th grade in Destiny High. This is my last year, thus was recommended in making good memories. Though…there is nothing fun, I wish Final Fantasy characters are real people. That’ll so much fun, especially if there is Noctis.....
Kyaaaa!!! I am so embarassed... ahem, let’s put that aside and let’s get onto the story.
This morning also has the same routine, wake up, bath, breakfast, school, home, dinner, sleep and so on. And coincidentally my literature teacher decides it’s fun to see her students suffer, and thus given us a homework about composition. I groan, this is going to kill my brain cells. “God, please let my life get interesting such as Final Fantasy character come to life..... Just kidding, it’s not like it can be granted anyway.” I exhaled. I put my homework and stationery on my desk and start thinking about the theme I am going to write. Not long after I start doze off.
My internal clock woke me up from my slumber. Groggily, I glance my clock and it shows 6.30 a.m. I blink once, twice and rub my eyes to make sure I am not mistaking it. In instant, all sleepiness fades away. ”Aaaahh!! I am late!!” I freaked out and with lightning speed I took a bath. While I was stripping though, something fell from my shorts’ pocket. I pick it up and examine it, it was a golden watch. Curious, I open it and something was craved on the lid ‘aeternam vinculo’ ‘what’s this mean? More importantly when I got this thing?’ I was thinking and completely forgotten the time.
“[Name]! breakfast is ready!” Kaa-san called.
“No way!” I yelped and resumed my activity.
I run down the stairs and eat breakfast quickly, “[Name], there’s still some time.” Kaa-san said.
I gulp down my orange juice, “Gotta go. Bye Kaa-san, Tou-san.” I said as I ran to school. Fortunately, the distance to school from my house is not that far. Upon arriving there, I still see a lot of students leisurely walking to the school. Looks like I am safe. I sigh in relief as I pat my chest. suddenly, I feel a tap on my shoulder and I turn around, but the sight of that ‘someone’ tapping my shoulder made my eyes widenend.
“Morning.” He said, while I blinked once, twice, titled my head and stare at him as he is an alien landing on earth. The person who greeted me is no other than the famous Chocobo head, Cloud Strife.
I keep staring at him without blinking. “You…” I could only manage a word to come out from my mouth.
Cloud looks at me oddly, “What’s wrong?” he asked.
“Good morning you two.” A new voice called. Our head snap to that direction and find Tifa and Yuffie are walking toward us.
My eyes widened ‘[Name].exe is shutting down.’ I can practically hear a robotic voice said that. ‘What exactly is going on?’
Seeing my confused blank looking face, concern made to Tifa’s face, “[Name], what’s wrong?” She asked.
So, I did the most logical action I could at the moment, I pinch my left hand, “Ow…” ‘It hurt.’ I rubbed my reddening left hand.
“[Name], are you really alright?” Tifa asked again. “Don’t worry Tifa, I bet she just woke up.” Yuffie grinned.
‘It’s not a dream....? t-they are really alive...?’ I am still confused, I am still not sure if I am having a realistic dream or this is the reality. But if so, what about yesterday and the day before yesterday and the days before today? Was that reality a dream? And this is the real reality? My mind is in jumbled mess, but I am happy. My wish has come true, my wish for the Final Fantasy characters are real people and as a bonus I have befriend with them. There’s no more I could ask for.
I feel someone shakes me. “Huh?” I snapped back to the reality.
“Maybe we should get her to infirmary.” Tifa said.
“Whooa. [Name], you really sick?” Yuffie was shocked by the news.
“Let’s go.” Cloud said as he prepared to drag me.
“W-wait! I’m fine, I just dozing because I just woke up.” I said putting a sheepish grin.
“See, she’s just woke up.” Yuffie grinned again, but I can see she was relieved as well.
‘Well, I did wish something interesting like this happen. Well, dream or not let’s enjoyed it to the last.’ I smiled at my thought as we walked to the class.
Upon entering class, I no longer panic on what I saw. There are some FF characters here and there, but I spot no Noctis, ‘Well, I’ll be lying if I am not disappointed.’ I sigh softly. ‘Well, nothing goes smooth now.’
Then I heard giggles and squeals. ‘Don’t tell me this is a famous scene from shoujo manga. The moment when male lead and his group enter the classroom. If so, then… Those girls will be the mortal enemies of the female lead. After the plot milked her usefulness, she and her sidekicks will fall into ruin.’ I blinked as I looked at those girls. ‘What a shame. They look nice enough though. But, I wonder who they’re fangirling about.’ I follow the crowd’s eyes, then the door opened revealing ‘Emergency! Mayday! Mayday! All staffs please evacuate! The ship will sink soon!Eh? EEEEEEHHHHH???!!! What is happening?! Why is he here?! No... I mean… I am happy that he is here. But he being here is a problem itself to me, in many ways.’ The one who opened the door is no other than Noctis.
I stiffen when he walks to me. “Good morning.” He muttered as he walked past me to his seat which is behind me.
“Mo-morning…?” And the problem is I was suttering when I replied, ‘Now I’ve done it…. he officially think I am one of his fangirls.’ I sighed earning a few snickers from Tifa and Yuffie which I give them an odd look.
“Morning, Hime-chi.” Prompto greeted.
I am not sure who is Hime-chi is. But seeing no one responds to him, it must be me, right? “Morning…?” I greeted back hesitantly.
During the duration of the lesson, I can’t concentrate at all. Part of it is because Noctis is sitting behind me. The other part is I am frantically thinking what should I do, what is my relationship with him and the other characters. Just because some of them are my friends, that doesn’t mean all of the characters must be my friends. And I have to be careful how to act around them, so they didn’t notice my awkwardness.
The bell rings signaling lunch break. Finally, me and the group which included almost all of the alvalanche members plus some other go to school cafeteria. Minus Cid and Barret cause they’re too old to go to school anyway which I found out later the two of them are school staffs. Barret as P.E teacher and Cid as engineer. And of course, let’s not forget Zack and Aerith. We go to cafeteria to eat lunch, while the others eat and talking each other, I am thinking about a lot of thing and that mysterious golden watch.
“[Name].” A voice snapped me out of my own world and I found all of them were staring at me.
“Huh?” I blinked owlishly.
“Are you okay?” Aerith asked worriedly.
“Did they bully you?” Prompto frowned.
“Eh? Bully? Who?” I tilted my head not understanding who were they talking about. ‘…For the first time in my life I was bullied…’
“WHAT!? Those girls are bullying my little sister?! How dare they!” Zack raged.
“W-Wait a minute. I am fine. No one is bullying me.” I said quickly calming them down.
“I heard something about bullying [Name]. Who is daring enough to do that?” Another new voice chimed in.
“Ah.” I blinked at the newcomers, twins exactly.
“Stella, Luna. Where were you guys?” Yuffie asked.
“Sorry, the teacher needed us just now.” Stella apologized.
“So, I heard someone is bullying [Name]? Which idiot?” Luna smiled scarily.
“No one was bullying me.” I shook my head quickly. ‘Scary…. Does Lunafreya is this kind of character?’ I sweatdropped.
“If we are talking about bullying, then I am sure it’s no other than her and her little group.” Tifa rolled her eyes.
‘I wonder who and why would people bully me? I don’t think I’ve ever made someone mad enough to be bullied by them.’ I scanned the cafeteria and spot a group of girls glaring at me, ‘Ah. So, they are the bully group.’ Then a mop of blond caught my attention, I narrow my eyes to get better sight, ‘…Who is she? I have never meet her before, but strangely her name popped out in my mind. Tachibana Kirika-san, Noct’s fangirl…. Ah, no wonder.’ I looked at her object of affection.
“Ignore them” Noct said.
“Umm...okay.” I answered.
After that staring contest, all is well. No war break between us. The last bell finally rings, signaling the end of school. And so, as per usual ritual, apparently we always go home together. “See you tomorrow.” I waved to them when I arrived at my house.
“See you.” They waved back. I open the door only to find it is hollow of life. I found a note one dinner table ‘Business trip one week, there’s a leftover for dinner. We’ll get your cousin to stay at the house tomorrow.’ I sighed. It’s still the same,’Oh well, I’m used to it.... wonder who is my cousin. This is the first time I heard about having a cousin staying over.’
Tired and still in term of accepting what has happened today. I am feeling really sleepy, but I didn’t dare to sleep. What if this is just a dream and I’ll wake up in the same position on my desk, as selfish as it may sound I still don’t want this to end yet. So many thoughts race in my head, absetmindedly I take out the golden watch and finally fallen asleep holding that.
I wake up with a start and glancing at my room, then realize something, FF charas. ‘Is it a dream?’ I sighed and I felt something in my hand. The golden watch, it’s still here. That means ‘It’s not a dream.’ I grinned widely, they are real. Thus, I quickly begin my routine of the day.
Arriving to the class, I greet them. Them as in the group. “Morning.” I greeted.
“Morning.” They replied. I sit at my seat and put my bag on drawer, but then a sharp pain creeps through my hand, instictively I take out my hand and trail of blood is dripping from my hand. My eyes flicker at the sound of giggles, there Tachibana Karin stand proudly at what she have done, she even raises her chin up to which I reply with raised eyebrow.
‘Truly, this is the first time I am being bullied for real.’
Seeing my bloodied right hand and still bleeding. Cloud quickly take my hand and examines it. “You okay?” He asked.
“As okay as someone will be with bleeding hand.” I remarked. Zack is definitely pissed off by the look of his face and stalks toward them.
“Why you little-“
“Zack. There’s no need to get angry.” I called to him.
Ignoring my call, he still stalks toward them, that is until Vincent holds him, “Ignore them. We should take her to infirmary.” He said.
“No no no. we can’t let this kind of things go.” Stella stepped in.
“Indeed. We’ll need to teach her a lesson.” Luna easily agreed with the older twin.
“Stella, Luna. Not you two too.” I sweatdropped.
“Let’s just take [Name] to infirmary first.” Tifa said. With that, the group accompanies me to the infirmary.
“The cut isn’t deep, it will heal in few days.” Nurse Quistis said after she finished bandaging me.
“Thank you.” I thanked her.
“It’s my job, now off you go to class.” She ushered.
“Yes ma’am.” I give her mock salute as I get out of the room.
Entering the class, I was bombarded with questions. Quistis kicked all of the out for being so noisy and too much. “I am fine.” I said for the umpteenth time.
Then Tachibana-san comes to me and asks with her sickly sweet voice, “How was your hand? Is it hurt?”
“Well, why don’t we try it to your hand. And then you’ll know whether it’s hurt or not.” I smiled eraning a few snickers from my friends as they heard my reply.
Tachibana-san’s face is red with anger and opens her mouth to say something. But then, the door opened revealing Noctis and Prompto. she quickly puts her sweet façade again to which I know that isn’t fooling anyone with decent IQ. “Good morning.” She greeted him which was ignored and laughter rose from our throats.
“If you didn’t do something like bullying his friends, you might have a chance.” I told her.
“You!” She gritted her teeth.
‘Aaah… She really didn’t get it.’ I sighed mentally. “Good morning you two. How unusuall for you to almost late.” I greeted.
“Good morning, Hime-chi. You see, we are almost late because we met an old woman on the street. She… Hime-chi, what happened to your hand?” Prompto frowned when he saw bandage on my left hand.
“Your hand...”
“Oh, this..” I said as I lift my hand. “Apparently, someone with a bad hobby finds it interesting to get me scream in pain. Unfortunately, they didn’t get what they want.” I smiled. Noct opens his mouth to ask something when the bell rang, signalling the start of class. All of us goes back to our seat. Well, in my case after recieving a hateful glare from Tachibana-san.
‘More importantly I wonder… Why is she targeting me? I mean, Noct’s female friends are not only I. There are Luna and Stella too…. Does she know I like him…? Well, I do like him as character in games before. And meeting him right now does make my feeling stronger… but, I am not sure if I like him as man… Besides…’ A certain scene from the game flashes in my mind. It’s overlapping in a scene I’ve seen here. ‘I am such a fool… obviously they are together…’ A bitter smile graces my lips.
The lessons went well, save for the ocasion hateful glare... okay scratch that, hateful glare all along. Lucnh break bell rings..... “Okay class, that’s all for today... oh and there is winter ball on the 28th December. All of you MUST come, it’ll be the last event for you. Class dissmissed.” Then the teacher goes out of classroom.
I groan inwardly, ‘Great… a ballroom.’ Note the sacarsm. The students scatters, chatting about the ball, while the group (girls only) advance to me.
“Soooo.....” Yuffie begins the conversation. “Who is going to be your date?” she asked excitedly.
“I don’t want to go.” I groaned again.
“You shouldn’t idle too long [Name], he will be snatched away.” Aerith said gigglig slightly.
“He? Who?” I titled my head. ‘Do I like someone?’
“Of course it’s him.” Yuffie answered.
“Tsk tsk tsk. As if [Name] will like another boy except from him.” Stella raised her brow.
“That dense man is too dense.” Luna giggled.
“Who is he exactly?” I frowned. But to them, my expression right now is quite funny because they are giggling.
“Don’t play dumb [Name]. all of us already know who is he. He is the one who gifted you the golden watch on your birthday.” Tifa said.
‘So, that was a gift from someone. And that someone is my crush so to speak…’ I blinked. ‘Who is…’ Suddenly the answer appeared itself in my mind.
*Poof* my face explodes to a blush. ‘It’s him. That man who is a trouble to me just by being here.’ I covered my face looking away from the evil grins on their faces.
“That time he was so shy. It’s funny, right?” Yuffie exclaimed.
“Hey, you guys.” I was saved by Reno. “Who are going to be you girls’ date?” He asked excitedly.
“Not again…” I groaned. “Reno, you don’t have any delicacy at all.” I whined.
“What happened to her?” Reno blinked.
“Just girl trouble.” Stella giggled followed by the rest of the girl.
“I mean you guys have fixed date already. Is there any point to ask?” I pouted. “I’m sure Tifa is going with Cloud, Aerith and Zack, Yuffie with Vincent. Stella is with Prompto and Luna will be going with No-.” I said.
“My date is a secret.” Luna cut my sentence.
“Secret?” I blinked.
“Yep. You’ll know when the time comes.” She smiled mysteriously.
“So, what about you [Name]? Wanna be my date?” He winked.
I snort, “No, thank you.” I flat out rejected him. “If I go with you. Your group of angry girlfriends will be waiting for me. Nuh-uh. I still want to be perfectly healthy, thank you.” All of them excluding Reno who is now sulking are laughing at his misfortune. “I am probably going alone. There’s no rule I can’t go alone.” I smiled. “…What’s wrong?” I blinked when I found them stared at me oddly.
“[Name]… You are quite dense…” Tifa sweatdropped.
“Huh?” I titled my head.
“[Name] you know, you are quite popular. If you say you are searching for a date. Everyone will probably line up.” Aerith giggled.
“…You are teasing me, aren’t you? I have a plain face you know. The one that is neither pretty, beautiful or cute. Besides, if I mean if I am quite popular, how come no one talk to me or better yet flirt to me?” I put an unamused face.
‘That’s because a certain someone made sure no one will not talk to you more than necessary. How can they have a gut to flirt with you with him hanging around you like a guard dog.’ All of them sweatdropped.
“Enough about me. What about the prince?” I turned my question to the prince that walked past me back to his seat.
“About what?” He sat back down.
“The winter ball. Who are you escorting?” I asked.
He snorts. “I don’t want to go.” He said.
“Me too. But we are forced to go.” I chuckled.
“I am waiting for someone.” He answered shortly. His answer makes the boys laugh. I raise my eyebrow at their odd reaction.
“You should hurry and ask her out, or else she’ll out of your reach.” Zack chuckled.
“Yep. After all the effort you put into.” Cloud nodded.
Zack’s word make my chest stings a bit. ‘What is this feeling?’ I blink the I shake my head to ignore it and chat with the rest of them.
Zack’s word is still ringing in my head. I am indeed curious as who is he going to ask, but I am more curious about the feeling in my heart just now. ’They are just characters from game, right? So, why did I have this feeling? Besides, I am sure he is going to ask Luna. No need to think that hard. They obviously are going to reveal it at the winter ball.’ I finally asleep while thinking about this.
Again, I wake up from my peaceful slumber before the alarm rings. I rub my eyes to get rid the alimighty power of sleepiness. The calendar on my wall made me realize this is Saturday. ‘Oh, it’s finally this day.’
As usual, I did my everyday routine, and then off to school. My peaceful day was once again ruined by Tachibana-san and the rabid fangirls follower.
“You! You dare to embarass me the other day, in front of my Noctis no less.” She screehed.
“My...Noctis...? Wow, I am not sure how to reply to that statement... Besides, weren’t you the one asked me about my hand, I just answered that it would be better for you to experience it first hand.” I answered effortlessly.
“You bitch!” She swung her hand to slap me. I am ready to dodge and prepare some wise words. But, her hand was caught midair by a more masculine hand.
I turn my head to get a better look of my savior. ‘Squall.’ I blinked at the unexpected character. ‘Rinoa shouldn’t be too far from Squall.’ I giggled inwardly at my own thought.
“You better stop this or you’ll get more than just slapping.” He growled. Tachibana-san turns pale. She and her follower quickly retreat back.
Then suddenly a girl pops out from his side. “Are you okay, [Name]?” Said girl is no other than Rinoa. ‘As I thought, Rinoa is not far.’ I chuckled at my own thought.
“I am fine.” I answered. “But, why are you two here?” I asked, I am not surprised with the characters popping out as my friends anymore. Last time, I found out Ignis is our Chemistry teacher and Gladioulus as our school security guard.
“Listen well! this isn’t over! I’ll make your life a living hell!” Tachibana-san sreeched which we of course ignored. The she stomps out here with her rabid fangirls follower.
“Just like always, you are a trouble magnet.” Squall Leonhart, which like to be called Leon sighed.
“You haven’t answered my question... Squeon.” I added my personal nickname just to annoy him.
“Your parents were worried, so they asked me to take care of you.” He said ignoring my nickname.
“I am fine, Squeon.” I said again.
Squall snorts, he lifts my bandaged hand, “And you said this was okay.”
“[Name], you are injured. What happened?” Worrywart Rinoa asked.
“I am okay. It’s just a small wound, Quistis said it will heal in 2 or 3 days.” I said calming Rinoa down.
Then, we heard some footsteps running toward us. The group are rushing to us. “Squall! Rinoa!” They exclaimed happily when they saw them.
“It’s Leon.” He grunted.
“Nooo, it’s Squeon.” I laughed. Squall only glares at me using his infamous glare.
“Long time no see.” Rinoa smiled.
“[Name], are you alright? I heard from some people Tachibana was bullying you, what did she do to you?” The now panicking Tifa asked.
“I am okay. she was just going to slap me, but Squeon stopped her.” I answered.
“WHAT?! She was going to slap you?! That damn bitch! How dare she!” Zack cursed.
“Calm down. I am not strupid just standing there waiting her slaps me.” I snorted. ‘Besides, which idiot will stand still when they are going to be hit.’
“By the way, if Squall and Rinoa are here. Does that mean they are going to be your care taker again?” Cloud asked.
“Yes, they are.” I said grinning.
“Oooooh, it’s rare that we can gather here together. So, how about we go to Chocobo Land  tomorrow?” Yuffie exclaimed excitedly.
“Chocobo Land.... Well, it’s been a while, the last time we go together was on [Name]’s birthday.” Aerith said. With that said, all of us decide to go to Chocobo Land tomorrow. Unbeknwon to me, I am playing right to their trap.~”~
“Eeeeehhhh~ Why can’t you go with us?” I asked, dismayed at the fact we couldn’t spend time together.
“Rinoa isn’t feeling well.” Was Squall short answer.
But I can’t shake the feeling that something is off. “She was fine yesterday.” I mumbled.
“Yesterday and today are different.” But all I did was stare, stare and stare. He sighs, “Just go already, you don’t want to be late, right?” He ushered me to go.
“Yes~” I sulked.
Arriving at the Chocobo Land. Only Noctis is at the rendezvous point. “Hey, Noct, where is the others?” I asked.
“They still haven’t arrived.” He answered.
‘Weird. They are usually on time. Maybe Yuffie will be a little late.’ I blinked at the unusual happening. And suddenly our phones ring at the same time signalling there are messages in our group chat.
Tifa
“Sorry, my parents are out of town suddenly. Need to housesit.”
Yuffie
Some brats in neighborhood are hunting my treasure. Need to safeguard it.
Zack
Am grounded. T.T
Luna
“Sis and I have trouble escaping from arranged marriage.
Stella
“Have fun. We will arrive there late.”
Aerith
“The shop is crowded. I can’t go out yet.”
Squall
“Rinoa is sick. Need to take care of her.”
Rinoa
Sorry guys.
Cloud
“Fixing my bike.”
Vincent
“…Sleepy…”
Prompto
“Helping acquaintance in photoshoot.”
‘What kind of hellish timing is this?’ I sweatdropped. ‘…No matter how I think, they are definitely setting us up.’ I sighed softly.
The two of us look at each other and sigh. “We were set up.” He said. “So, what should we do? Should we go home?” He asked again.
“Hmmm… We’re already here anyway. So, let’s just play. Just the two of us.” I grinned. A small smile is tugging on his lip hearing my sentece. But, unbeknown to us, we were followed by eight enthusiastic stalkers plus two reluctant stalkers and cameras.
Everywhere and anywhere as far as I can see, all I can see is Chocobo. The excitement is building up. “Chocobo♪~ Chocobo♪~.” I hummed out with sparkling eyes.
“Your love for Chocobo is something else.” Noct sweatdropped.
“What can I say, I just love Chocobo.” I giggled. “Then, our first ride will be that.” I pointed to the Chocobo Jet that was quite far from our meeting point.
“Figures you will ride that first.” Noctis chuckled.
“Let’s go!” I giggled excitedly. ‘Just for today. Let me spend a quality time with him. Yes…Just for today.’ The Chocobo Jet is really exciting. “I want to ride it again.” I said enthusiastically.
“Let’s ride the other attraction first. We’ll ride the roller coaster again later.” He sighed helplessly.
“It’s a promise, okay. I won’t go home if I don’t get to ride it again.” I stuck my pinky to him.
“Yes, yes. It’s a promise.” He hooked his pinky to mine. And then seamlessly warps his hand around mine and tugs me along.
I blink at the action. ‘Alert, alert. The parameter is rising.’ A slight blush adorns my cheeks. I quickly put a hand on my cheek to cool it down.
“What’s wrong?” He asked when he saw my weird action.
“Nothing!” I squeaked in high pitched voice.
He blinks, “You are so weird.” He laughed.
“I don’t want to hear that from you.” I stuck my togue out to him.
The next ride is Chocobo Cup. “Spin faster!” I laughed cheerily as I spun the cup faster.
“You’ll get dizzy later.” Noct smiled.
‘Hm…?’ from the corner of my eyes, I think I caught a glimpse of a familiar chocobo head. ‘Was I mistaken?’
“What’s wrong?” Ncoct asked when he realized I stopped spinning.
“Ah, nothing, I thought I saw Cloud.” I shook my head. “It must be my imagination. I mean this is Chocobo Land.” I laughed. All of the visitors are wearing Chocobo headband which we get as a free gift in the entrance.
“What do you want to do next?” He asked.
“Hm…Oh!” My eyes are drawn to the shooting range not far from us. More accurately, drawn to the prizes in that shooting range. “That! Let’s compete!” I turned to Noctis.
“Yes?”
“Let’s see who will get the grand prize first!” I exclaimed.
“Yo, ojou-chan, an-chan. The point for the grand prize is 150. The rule is easy. Your gun has 3 bullets. Knock down the plate with the point written on it. collect 150 points and you have the grand prize. Easy, right?” Baku explained.
“Yep!” I nodded.
“One game is 150 gil.” He smiled.
“Give us two guns.” Noct said as he handed him the money.
“Haiyo!” Baku handed us the bullet.
“The game is on!” I grinned.
~One Round Later~
“Not fair….” I sulked. In the end, Noctis wins with overwhelming victory. I don’t understand how he managed to get 200 points, while I couldn’t even get the 10 points plate down.
“Bwahahahaha! Ojou-chan, you are the best! Your skill is one in one hundred!” Baku laughed merrily.
“Sh-shut up!” I cried out.
“An-chan, your skill is amazing. Usually, the guests will spend more than 3 games to get a hang of this game.” He smirked.
“This is just a fluke. My friend happens to be good at this kind of game. I was only following his advice.” Noct answered.
“Heh. I want to meet this friend of yours.” Baku smirked.
“Next time, I guess.” Noct shrugged his shoulder.
“Bahahaha! I can’t wait!” Baku laughed harder.
While those two are chatting. I am already at my own land of misery. “I am sorry Chocobo. I can’t get you. I am sorry I am such a failure.” I murmured.
“So, what happen to Ojou-chan?” Baku sweatdropped.
“She just happened to love Chocobo a bit too much. Too much that I am jealous.”
“Bwahahaha! You win the game, but lost the war. I really pity you, An-chan” Baku patted his shoulders.
“Haahh…” He sighed. “[Name]. Here, this is yours.” Something is shoved to my face. It’s the grand prize of the shooting range, Golden Chocobo.
“For me?” I blinked.
“Of course.” He rolled his eyes. “If I don’t give it to you. You’ll keep staring at me as if you are having a grudge on me.” He smirked.
“I-I will not.” I flushed.
“Ojou-chan!” Baku called.
“Yes?”
“Here. A consolation prize.” Baku gave me two droppy chocobo hat. “Thanks to Ojou-chan, I have a great laugh today.” Baku grinned.
“Thank you!” I quickly put it on my head, while keeping the headband I got on my small backpack I brought. “Noct, you wear one too.” I gave the hat to him. The said man obediently bends down his body so I can put it on him. “We match!” I laughed happily, completely missing his softened look to me.
“Bahahaha! I pray for your success, an-chan.” Baku laughed.
“Thanks.” Noct replied. While I completely don’t understand what they were talking about. “Let’s go. We still have many attractions to ride.” He tugged my hand along.
“Yes!” ‘I think whether this is a dream or reality, this will be the happiest day of my live.’
Our next destination is, “Chocobo House!!!” I shrieked at the sight. I rush to the house, wanting to see it up close and personal.
“Hey! Don’t run!” I heard Noct’s warning.
“Don’t worry! I am not a child. I won’t fall down. Hurry up! Hurry up!” I urged him.
“We need to buy tickets first.” He sighed.
“Ah.” I blinked, completely forgotten that. Noct rolls his eyes as he pays for the tickets.
“Thank you for the purchase. Please enjoy the house.” The staff smiled.
Chocobo House, truly befitting the name. The house is basically Chocobo den. Look right, there will be a lot of Chocobo. Look left, there will be a lot of Chocobo. Look up, there will be a lot of Chocobo lantern. Look down, the tile is Chocobo pattern. And in the center if the house, there is the fat Chocobo.
“….Can I take that home?” I muttered out loud.
“Will it fit in your room?” Noct sweatdropped.
“I have an unused room. It will fit there. I can just move my Chocobo shrine there.” My eyes sparkled.
“Oi oi oi. Will they even let you buy it. Rather, even if they are willing to sell. Does your pocket money enough?” Noct sighed.
“Hmmm…. I should really get a part time job.” I muttered as I trying to calculate how much the Fat Chocobo will cost.
“Wait! Wait! They are selling the miniature version of Fat Chocobo. Let’s take a look.” Noct dragged me to the merchandise counter. In the end, I buy the Fat Chocobo plushie. More precisely, it was bought for me.
“I could buy it myself. You’ve paid for the rides and tickets. I can at least buy the merchandise myself.” I pouted and frowned as I hugged the plushie.
“It’s fine. I just want to. My father told me I need to spoil you to win your heart. He even willingly and happily to let me spend money to make you his daughter in law.” He muttered.
“Hm? What did you say?” I couldn’t hear the second part of his sentences.
“Nothing. Let’s ride that next.” He pointed to the Chocobo-go-round.
“Okay!” ~”~
“I am hungry~” I whined as I sat on the park bench.
“It’s already 1.00 p.m.” Noctis said as he looked at his watch. “The food court is over there.” Noctis said.
“Yosh! After lunch, we are going to continue.” I beamed, while my companion just shook his head at my antics. “Hey, don’t tell me you don’t enjoy it. Because we know it’s a lie.” I pointed my finger to him.
“I never said I didn’t.” He chuckled.
“Then all is well.” I grinned.
We are sitting in the food court, waiting for our order. The topic of our conversation is the hellish timing our friends have. “They are definitely…” I trailed off.
“…Doing this in purpose…” He finished.
“There’s no way they have this kind of convenient timing of not going. Well, in Zack’s case… he might be really grounded.” I giggled as we glanced secretly to the seats behind us.
“He-hey! Don’t be too noisy, they’ll find out.” A familiar voice of Tifa was heard.
“But, I can’t hear what are they talking about.” Yuffie whined.
“What a sloppy tailing.” I sniggered.
“They really… have too much free time.” Noct sighed.
“They seem don’t know that we’ve know they tailed us from the start.” I laughed merrily, really enjoying this charade. From the corner of my eyes, I can see now they are fighting for food, Zack and Cloud plus Yuffie. “Let’s caught them red handed later.” I laughed.
“Here are your orders.” A kind waitress set down our food.
“Thank you.” We thanked her.
“Please enjoy!” She smiled cheerily.
“Thanks for the food.” ~”~
“Noct. Let’s go over there.” I pointed to an ice-cream stall.
“Didn’t you just eat lunch?” He blinked.
“If it’s for ice cream, I am sure my stomach will make more room.” I answered.
“….What flavor?” He could only helplessly ask.
“Sea-salt ice cream!” I said excitedly.
“Wait here.” He told me and he is off to the stall.
“Ah, I want ice cream too.” I heard Yuffie whined.
“If we go now. We’ll be caught.” Stella reminded.
“But… ice cream…” I could already imagine her face looked like a kicked puppy.
“We need to endure.” Luna said sternly.
“Here.” Noct came back with an ice cream.
“Where is yours?” I blinked as I took the ice cream.
“I am good.” He said.
“Is that so?” I licked the ice. “Mmmnn… It’s delicious.” My eyes sparkled. “Here. Have a taste. It’s delicious. Delicious food should be shared to double the deliciousness.” I grinned.
“…Then, I’ll be happy to oblige.” He smiled softly as eat the ice from my hand.
“How is it? Isn’t it delicious?” I asked animatedly.
“Yeah. It’s delicious.” A ghost smile on his lips.
“See! I told you, you should buy one for yourself.” I said smugly. I quickly devour the ice cream until I realize what have I done. *Poof* ‘He ate mine…. Indirect kiss… No no no, let’s not think about it.… Okay, breathe in… breathe out… It’s okay. It’s just indirect kiss. No biggie….NO! it’s not okay for my heart! Does he even realized what he has done! I know I was the one offered it to him, but…’
“Why is your face red? Is it heatstroke?” He frowned.
“No! I am fine! Completely fine. It’s only a little bit too hot! It’s not a heatstroke!” The completely flustered me squeaked out. “Let’s go there!” I randomly pointed a ride and hurried there, missing the knowing smirk on his face.
The clock has shown 5.30 p.m. the only remaining ride is, “Hey, Noct. Let’s ride Chocobo Wheel.” I dragged him to the line. The said man allows me to drag him, he’s suprisingly obidient.
The Ferris Wheel stops when we are at the top. “When are we going to catch them red handed?” He smirked.
“You’ll see.” I grinned mischievously. “As expected from the highest point. I can see all of them park from here. It’s beautiful.” I was awed by the breathtaking view.
“Indeed…” What I didn’t know is, he wasn’t talking about the view.
The ride has ended. We are back on the land. “Ah! I have to call Squeon, first. I am worried about Rinoa.” I said out loud, letting our stalkers hear. “If he has something he needs, I can swing to the nearest drug store.” I fished out my phone from my bag. Can practically hear the nervous choked sounds from our stalkers. I push the speed dial button number 1. A familiar ringtone rings. My smile widens when I heard that.
“Hello!” I waved to them. We catch our stalkers red handed. “I thought you all have some kind of troubles.” I raised my brow.
“Ahahahha… We were just...uh…worried about you two. Yes, we were worried.” Zack laughed nervously, which then elbowed by Aerith for stuttering.
“So, did you guys get nice pictures? Because I am expecting it.” I snickered.
“I thought you were grounded, Zack.” Noct smirked.
“Hey, everyone! The photos are done. What are- “Yuffie stopped in mid sentence when she saw us. “Ahahahaha. Hello, [Name].” Yuffie greeted me.
“Geh! Noct!” Prompto gasped.
“Yuffie~, Prompto ~ What about those pictures in your hands?” I asked with a smile etched on my face.
“O-oh, th-this is..” She trailed off, senaking a glance on me, I still waiting her answer with a smile. “Eheheheh.... Okay, I give up. Here, all yours.” She gave us the photos they took. To put it simply, those are our candid photos. There are also the others but mostly about me and Noctis.
“Awww, this one is soo cute.” Tifa cooed. The pictures she chooses is the one when Noct was eating my ice cream. The angle is good. It’s just quite embarrassing.
“Heheh. Mine is this.” Luna chose the time when I put Chocobo hat on Noct.
“Oh. I like this one.” Stella picked our competition in shooting range.
“This one is good.” Aerith liked the one where I hug the huge Fat Chocobo in Chocobo House.
“Oookay. Let’s save this for later. For the last ride, we’ll go on Chocobo Jet. I will not allow any objection.” I exclaimed happily. For the last ride. We are fortunate the ride is enough for all of us.
“It was fun! It’s been a while I play this much.” I stretched.
“We should come here together again.” Rinoa smiled.
“Agreed! But no more stalking.” I laughed.
Time sure flies fast. It’s already one week before Christmas, we the girls are shopping for Christmas gift. ‘Sooo, what should I buy? Let’s just buy what they can use everyday.’ The other girls already busy choosing their own gifts. I am just strolling in the accesorries shop. After all of us finished, we head back to home. ~”~
It’s finally Christmas. The girls agreed to gather at Tifa’s house and give a make-over to each other, while I opted to not involved which is not an option. I am also dragged in to the whole fiasco. Exactly 7 p.m. We heard the knock, signaling the boy group has come.
“Merry Christmas.” Zack said excitedly.
“Merry Christmas.” We greeted. After we greeted each other, the party starts. I give them their respective gifts. Earrings for Tifa, bracelet for Yuffie, a necklace for Stella and Luna, a phone case for Vincent, a dress for Aerith, a google for Cloud, another dress for Rinoa and a for Zack, my self proclaimed brother, I gave him a pair of shoes. For my dearest cousin, it’s a leather jacket.
I am now down to the last person, but the said person isn’t in the room. The gift is still clutched in my hand. I see Tifa tilts her head to the yard, I nod and flash a grateful smile.
I found him gazing stars. “Not going to enter?” I asked.
Noctis glances at me and then back to the stars. “Too noisy.” Was his short answer. I laugh lightly at his short, but clear answer.
There is a comfortable silence between us, until I remember the reason I searched him. “Here.” I gave him the small blue box.
“For me?” I nodded at his question. Then he also pulls out something small from his pocket and gives it to me. I look at the gift curiously. I try to guess what’s in this little black box. Seeing the blatant curiosity on my face, Noctis chuckles. “Open it.” He said. With that said, I open the box excitedly. There, in the black box there is a ring necklace. My name is carved on the ring. My eyes widened and let out a small laugh. Noctis only stares at me with raised eyebrow.
“Open my gift.” I said still laughing. With a strange look he opens the box. His eyes also widen, there in the blue box I gave him, there’s also a same ring necklace. the only difference is the carved names. Then a small laugh also escapes from his lips.
“Will you allow me to escort you in the winter ball?” He asked.
This question caught me off guard. I never thought he will ask me let alone think about it. I look left, right and then behind me to see if someone is there. “…Are you practicing so you can ask Luna?” I blinked.
“Why are you bringing up Luna?” He frowned.
“Eh? Why? Because isn’t that so?” I was taken back.
“It’s not.” He sighed exasperated.
“Then… If you are fine with me. I’ll be happy to take on your offer.” I smiled. ~”~
The day before the ball. The girls agree to meet up again in Tifa’s house right after school. They are going to match the dress they’ve bought with their accessories. “Hm? [Name], where’s your dress?” Luna asked.
“Ah, I don’t have one I was sure I am going alone, so I didn’t buy dress. I am going to wear school uniform. The rule didn’t specifically say the dress code is an evening dress.” I smiled sheepishly.
“School…” (Stella)
“Uni…” (Aerith)
“…form” (Tifa)
“You said?!” (Luna)
“Huh? Isn’t Noctis escorting you?” Yuffie blinked.
“He did two days ago. It’s just, I don’t have time to pick up dress. So, I am going to wear school uniform.” I nodded.
“Change of plan.” Stella said seriously.
“Yes. We have a change of plan.” Luna agreed.
“Huh?” I blinked.
“We are going to shop for your dress right now.” Aerith smiled.
“Eh? Right now. We don’t have that much time…anymore.” I finished timidly, seeing their scary smiles.
“Sorry [Name}. Even I can’t help you.” Yuffie said. ~”~
At last, the most dreaded day that I wish never come is finally here. 28th December, that means the winter ball. ‘Why it has to be a ballroom, can we just change to more casual party?’ I groaned.
“[Name], you shouldn’t put that kind of face. You are the prince’s date, are you not?” Zack teased.
“The said prince has the same opinion as me.” I said unamused. The girls and the boys wear a matching color, including Noct and I. Apparently, Luna called Noct and asked, no demanded him to wear a cobalt blue suit, so he can match with my dress.
The hall is decorated just like a real ballroom. There are also snacks and drinks there. Once we enter the hall, Reno instantly flies to the other side of the hall sweet talking to a group of girls. The others asked their dates to dance with them. Being a gentleman he is, our favourite prince also asks me to dance. “I can’t dance.” I smiled wryly.
“Don’t worry. Just follow my lead. Waltz is an easy dance.” He said taking my hand. We dance peacefully until someone with the name of Tachibana Kirika ruins it.
“Noctis dear~” She called with such coquettish voice that it actually made me had a goosebumps. “I am sure I can be a better partner than this plain looking girl.” Tachibana-san winked at him.
“Sorry if I am plain looking. At least, you should learn how to wear a proper make up. The color doesn’t suit you.” I rolled my eyes.
“No, thank you.” He refused politely.
But that sets Tachibana-san in rage. “Exactly what did you see in this girl?” She screeched and pointed her finger to me. “I am prettier and a ton of guys asked me to be their date.” She yelled.
Noctis narrows his eyes. “Then, you can have them to accompany you. Listen, I am tired of your antics. Don’t you dare badmouth her! The next time you do so, I won’t forgive you!” Noctis snapped. Then, Noct storms out from the hall, leaving the said girl there standing dumbfounded and biting her fingernail.
‘Wow, this is the first time I see him angry.’ I too, quietly leaving the hall searching for my partner.
“So, you are here.” I said after I found him on the rooftop. He only stands there unmoving. “Still angry?” I asked.
“Not anymore.” He answered.
“I doubt she will stalk you after your outburst just now.” I laughed.
“She better be.” He let out a snort.
“Hey, Noct.”
“Hm?”
“What was the meaning of the word carved in the golden watch?” I asked as I took out the watch from my dress’ small pocket.
“Are you curious about that?” He asked.
“Very.” Was my answer.
“That is-” He walked closer to me without breaking the eye contact. He stands right in front of me, making me wait with bated breath. He bends down so his mouth right beside my ear, and whispers softly. “Eternal bond.” After saying that, he stood straight. A small smile on his lip, satisfied with my now blushing face.
“You-! Can just say it normally.” I glared at him. The futile glare only makes him smiles. He pulls me toward him. “Wha-” I blinked rapidly as he pressed his lips to mine.
‘Unable to process. [Name].exe crashed.’
I suddenly wake up from my nap and look at my surrounding. I am in my room, the same room before all of that happen, my workbook is still on my desk untouched. “I see, that was a dream after all.” I said disappointed. I blush again remembering the last part of the dream. “What an outrageous dream I had.” I sweatdropped. I put my finger on my lips as if I can still feel the warmth.
“[Name], you idiot. That was just a dream.” I scolded myself. “Rather than thinking about it, I should take a bath.” I mumbled walking to the bathroom. Unbeknown to me there are a ring necklace with my name and a golden watch with its lid opened on my desk.
“Our bond is eternal”

It’s Aromantic Awareness Week which means I am going to be aro on main and as a small challenge to myself I’m going to look at assorted Final Fantasy VII characters and make headcanons for what flavor of aro they would be if they were aro
Cloud: aromantic and romance indifferent. He doesn’t care about romance either way. Gay as in sexually attracted to men. Also probably feels tertiary attraction, like maybe queerplatonic? I feel he would be down for a queerplatonic relationship but he wouldn’t know how to get one.
Aerith: romance favorable aro. She’s never felt romantic attraction but she’s pretty down for romantic relationships. Also aroallo as fuck, she’s bi and she’s gonna mingle.
Tifa: another romance favorable aro, maybe cupioromantic? Cupioromantic and demisexual. Pretty sapphic. Lots of aesthetic attraction for ladies. She’s also very much interested in having a queerplatonic relationship.
Barret: greyromantic, he was only into his wife but man was he into his wife. Romance favorable as a whole, he’s the guy who thinks romance is cool he just doesn’t participate often. The ultimate wingman, has a lot of opinions about love and relationships and he’s gonna lecture you about amatonormativity.
Nanaki: I’m gonna go ahead and say Nanaki’s species doesn’t have romance. He’s not involved in all of this.
Cait Sith: he doesn’t have romantic attraction but not because he’s a robot. Reeve could have totally programmed romantic attraction into him, but Reeve is also aromantic and so why the fuck would he make his catbot alloromantic?
Vincent: I would say greyromantic? With a talent for using all of his romantic attraction in the worst situations. Also somewhere on the asexual spectrum. Generally I don’t think Vincent would label himself specifically aside from vaguely aroace.
Cid: romance repulsed aro, possibly nonpartnering. Fuck romance all his homies hate romance. All he needs in life is machines, tea, and this pointy stick he found. Also asexual.
Yuffie: aromantic but also doesn’t really identify as aro because she hasn’t put thought into it yet. Like she’s 16 and busy being a ninja, I think anything revolving around romance hasn’t occurred to her yet.
Sephiroth: quoiromantic. He doesn’t know “romance”, he doesn’t get “love”. He would do well in a queerplatonic relationship because that’s a more vague kind of relationship with vague rules that he can just vibe in, as opposed to everything that is happening with romance.
Zack: idemromantic and full of love. Basically he has a lot of love to give to everyone and he’ll decide later what kind of love it is. He’s also pansexual, and also feels various other assorted attractions. Romance favorable, very into relationships of various kind, very lovequeer.
Genesis: loveless aro. Like. Obviously. But I also think in general he has the attitude to identify as loveless as an explicit fuck you to society. He’s also bisexual.
Angeal: cupioromantic and I think he’s very likely to go through internalized arophobia. He’s the kind of guy who gets dreams of having a family later on and realizing he doesn’t feel romantic attraction would upset him. He’d want a romantic relationship but be hesitant because he would be insecure about not feeling the same way as his partner, but he’d be very good in a queerplatonic relationship.
Tseng: his attraction has been classified.
Reno: he’s aromantic and pansexual and voted most likely to talk shit about alloromantic constantly. He complains loudly and all the time about romance. Thinks breaks up are funny.
Rude: aromantic, romance indifferent. He just doesn’t care but he will bitch with Reno.
Elena: freyromantic purely based on vibes. I don’t know it just fits her. Doesn’t like romance. Honestly the Turks are just the romance is gross squad.

Final Fantasy 7 prompts no 72
1. Cloud definitely underestimated Angeal and Genesis. He was barely holding his own against the two, and that was before Sephiroth came. Now his only option was to retreat...
2. "Cloud," the silverette ground out, having lost his original baritone, "whatever you did- undo it."
Huffing softly to himself, he reached down and picked up the now eight year old warrior, carrying him on his hip. "Oh, I plan to. Somehow." After all, Cloud couldn't bring himself to kill a kid...even one as evil as his nemesis.
3. Cloud tensed when he felt arms wrap around him, lifting his torso from the damp soil.
Opening his eyes was far more difficult than it should have been.
"SOLDIER! Can you hear me? Respond!"
"...soldier?" Cloud couldn't remember why he was here...or even his name really. Why was this man carrying him and what was Shinra?
4. Cid and Shera are expecting a baby, and both are super excited. Also everything is space themed regardless of gender.
Clouds stalkers, erm, "fan club" somehow got ahold of a video of him oh so carefully folding baby clothes before putting them back on the rack. They think the dainty and careful way he handles the baby stuff is adorable.
Cloud is mortified.
Cid just slapped him on the back and told him he better get thier kid something cute.
5. Insane Sephiroth meeting Eldrich Cloud in another dimention.
"What's in it for me?"
An innocent question, if not for the fact Sephiroth had just asked him to commit mass genocide. Still, this was a situation he had been dreaming of for years now. His crush puppet was finally willing to follow his strings.
The silverette never noticed the predatory look the blond gave him. By the time he realized he was in over his head, it was far too late.
6. With AVALANCHE gone and the W.R.O. in shambles, Cloud and Sephiroth agree to set aside thier differences to fight a common enemy.
Sephiroth is overjoyed and Cloud is just grateful hes only been called "puppet" a measly three times this week
7. Cloud repeatedly tazing Sephiroth while the former General just smiles down at him, unaffected.
Clouds a little scared, ngl
8. Reeve Tueski being a disaster Bi.
Hes getting crushes on ALL of his targets, which is the worst possible outcome for a spy. He didn't even know he was Bi before this gods dammit!
What's worse is that his type is apparently Super Hot Eco-Terrorists
He's doomed.
9. Cloud is injured and dying, causing Sephiroth to panic.
Mother will fix this, he thought to himself, I just have to get him to her and everything will be fine.
He refused to lose the only thing that was ever truly his
10. After a "Mini" spell gone awry, Genesis is left the size of an action figure.
He makes a bad situation worse by putting on a pair of devil horns (where did those even come from?) And carrying around a tiny pitchfork. He proceeded to drop down onto peoples shoulders and torment them.
Angeal wants to help, he really does, but he can't. Stop. Laughing.
Zack: Whoa! Who are you?
Genesis: You're inner demon :}
Zack: Aww, you're adorable!!!
Genesis:
Genesis: OK. I'll admit I wasn't expecting that, but thank you.
Genesis: Now go blow up that thing over there.
11. Sephiroth is knocked into an alternate reality and swaps places with the Sephiroth of that world.
He wakes up in a bed with a familiar blond shaking his shoulder, "Cmon, Mother is waiting for us downstairs."
Needless to say, Seph is a little confused, but goes with it anyway. Turns out, the Sephiroth of this world lives with his five younger brothers: Weiss, Cloud, Kadaj, Loz and Yazoo. All of whom serve thier mother, the dark goddess Jenova, who dotes on them incessantly.
Cloud was born prematurely, meaning he came out "underbaked". The Sephiroth of this world had apparently promised mother to coddle protect him. He can do that too...maybe...
Meanwhile, in the other universe:
Our Cloud: I can feed myself dammit!
Other Sephiroth: That's good to hear. Now open your mouth.
AVALANCHE is too busy laughing and taking pictures to help
12. Tifa introduced her new "SOLDIER-killer" drinks to Cloud right before she left with the kids to meet up with Barret for the weekend
Cloud didn't think anything of it at first, but apparently the more mako you have in your body, the more the drink affects you. After three drinks Cloud was giggling like a schoolgirl. Thats when the worst possible thing happens.
Sephiroth shows up...but Cloud was too drunk to care. The blond managed to convince Sephiroth to have one drink. One!
Then they woke up three days later in a Vagas hotel room with massive hangovers, matching tattoos and wedding bands.
The former General is staring at the wall in shock while Cloud is still trying to figure out where "Navada" is on Gaias maps and how he's never heard of it before
Aka You ever get so drunk you marry your arch nemesis and transcend dimensions with them?
13. Dadesis with tiny time traveling terror versions of Shelua and Shelke.
Team mom Angeal is parent of the year while Sephiroth looms awkwardly in the background cause Shelke is terrified of him. Poor Seph.
14. Time traveler Cloud thrown into DeepGround
15. Children keep giving Cloud chocobo merchandise and all his friends keep teasing him about it.

Note
Anyone else in their circle of friends have children, pregnant or parents now aside from Cloud?
I’m going to go downt he last as that’s easiest.
Cide & Vincent wouldn’t be. Both consider themselves too old to be having any kids. And, anyway,t hey have their not-child to keep them busy (Yuffie for Cid, Shelke for Vincent).
Reeve would want a kid but also is very married to his work so would worry he woudln’t have enough time to spend with them. So probably compromises as a very invested uncle to the rest of Avalanche’s kids.
Nanaki cannonically has kids by Advent Children. So, yeah, he has kids.
Yuffie is probably thinking about having kids soon (causing everyone else to feel so old) I feel like her partner would be not another Avalanche member - IDK maybe the dude from her new remake trailer.
Tifa is part of the Barret-Cloud-Tifa trio in this so she’s a parent to the main gaggle as well.
As for Jessie, Biggs and Wedge. I’m still getting used to the idea the may not be dead in a post-game timeline. But if they are alive they would probably have a handful between them. They probably have the higher side of avrerage kid numbers (so like... 3-4)
For the Turks + Rufus (who are now part of the extended friends circle as much as Avalanche hate that) it kind of depends on what desigantions I end up giving across them (I tend to lean towards omega!Rufus in this verse because of a ficlet I wrote years ago. But that still leaves Reno and Elena who I flip-flop on designaitons for a lot). I do feel like there’s probably a Shirna heir going to be born soonish. But if either Reno or Elena are omegas I could see Rufus holding off until they get pregnant to try and line himself up a wet nurse. With them though it’s very much Rufus’ One Heir and if there’s another omega then one other child.

Cid Highwind and/or Vincent V!
Oooohhh!!! Bringing in The Boys? SNkkkkk, I’d expect nothing less of you, Enide <3 I’m not that well-versed in them as I’d like, buT!!! here’s trying!!!! Love a good challenge :))
Cid:
First impression: Grumpy tea DILF that swears his ass off. For some reason I keep forgetting Cid is a lancer and not a gunman because??? Usually it’s the gunmen that get depicted all vulgar and rugged, with stubble and cigarettes.
Impression now: Grumpy tea DILF that swears his ass off. Lmao, nothing much has changed, but there’s certainly a free-spiritedness to him; makes sense, the man is a pilot and would’ve been(got to be?) an astronaut. He’s very tough-love in a way that both meshes and manages to be distinct from Barret’s flavour-- I think they’d be good bros :) One thing that sours his character a bit for me is how he verbally abuses Shera :( I’d normally chalk it up to his usual tough-love, but with the major plotpoint of him blaming her for his crushed dreams and how she essentially fulfills the role of an abused wife... I, I’m not so sure. Overall, I like Cid, but it’s a shame.
Favorite moment: Ohh!!! I have a few, such as the way he joins the party, him calling Vinny back to their room, his return to the final fight-- But my favourite has to be on the Materia train hijacking sequence and the dialogue that follows if you pick Yuffie and Vincent as your party members. The dialogue is downright hilarious and you really get the sense that they’ve gotten to know each other behind the scenes(love that about FFVII <3) :)))
Idea for a story: To STEAL an idea from my bud @alunchboxofsushifries she had while we were whinging about DoC, but having the game’s storyline entirely revamped so that it’s Vincent, Cid and Yuffie doing it all together. We don’t know the finer details(and DoC being DoC quite frankly I’m scared of knowing just w h a t might we be changing), but I love the idea alot!!!!! Again, this is my friend Vee’s idea, so major credit to them!!!!
Unpopular opinion: Lmao I don’t think I have enough opinions on him to really have an unpopular one??? Dont get me wrong-- Love the man to bits, however as of yet my focus has been all over the other party members(Barret, Nanaki, ect.) and so I’m not as well-versed in what is the common fanon of this man-- Most I could say is I wished they handled his resentment towards Shera better :(
Favorite relationship: I think him and Vince are such a fun dynamic-- I lean heavily platonic, but I’m sure you know I’m cool with a more romantic connotation. Vince calling him chief and being this affectionately dry almost-sidekick to Cid is the absolute best and its what made me love the train sequence along with Yuffie calling him old man lmaooo-- Adding onto that, I think him and Yuffie could have a snarky grumpy old dad and snide-teenager dynamic where he gives her lectures and she goes “yeah okay, paps”.
Favorite headcanon: Sadly I don’t have really any(I am NOT giving you good food today, am I, Enide? :( ), but I personally think that he’s got the only functioning airship on the Planet. I headcanon Gaia to be roughly the size of our moon, so large enough to hold a fair amount of people but also small so everything’s just a stone’s throw away-- Hell, they only have one major ocean! How wild is that???
Now!!!!! Onto Vince :))))) I have alot more to say(hopefully lmaooo)
First impression: Cool edgy gunman who stands in a corner and mumbles huskily. Drinks only black coffee, if he even drinks at all. Desperately needs a hairbrush.
Impression now: This man is??? SO awkward I???? I lOVE HIM???? He’s also got such a sweetness in my eyes and it’shdfjkjhkjhjg!!!! Like mAN, he’s an outwardly chill if slightly skittish older friend who keeps to the sidelines most of the times but when he does chip in it’s a l w a y s good and very Wise. The man is a bit of a sod, though, sometimes to the point of debilitating self-pity. First thing this guy did was tell you to fuck off and go back to sleep. He rags on himself heavily for his sins and I want to!!! Give the poor fucker a hug because lord knows he hasn’t had one in 27~ years :((( All around, swell guy, WOULD love to have a chill garden-bonfire chat with him :) Still needs a hairbrush, lmao. Also g o l d - p l a t e d  c l o w n s h o e s .
Favorite moment: I must, again, bring up the train scene for reasons mentioned in Cid’s section-- But to get onto another that caught my eye, was when he returned, and Cloud was surprised, having got the feeling that Vince was cold an detached. It’s both sweet, and sad. Vince cares deeply about all of this, about all of them, but because he’s a bit of a poker-faced recluse he doesn’t express it very much. I wonder how he felt, hearing that.
Idea for a story: OF COURSE, once again, Vee’s DoC rewrite(even more so because Vince is the main character), but I think a Seph adoption!AU, whether pre or postgame where in the former he takes Seph in and they’re constantly on the run together, constantly awaiting Shinra’s wolves like stalked deer, or the latter where there’s a tender, redemptive atmosphere but also a psychological, almost-horror element where he loves his Lucrecia’s son so much but also has to serve as his warden lest he be unleashed once more.
Unpopular opinion: I don’t think he’s Sephiroth’s biological father, and, with the nigh-omnipresence of this theory, I’ll be honest and say I find it a little grating? I think it weakens Hojo’s character and makes Vince this Real Fix-It Parent Who’d Never Hurt You :) -- And I understand the appeal, of that, but honest to God it really feels like most of this comes down to Hojo Stinky Baf adn UGLIIII!!! Vimce Good adn Sweete adn Pwetty :333 Facetiousness aside, I can appreciate this being done well, as with anything! Just wish it wasn’t taken as almost canon in fandom spaces :(
Favorite relationship: The man is SO fun to platonically pair up with everyone it’s INSANE, though I don’t think I have a favourite ship??? Like yeah, sure him and Lucrecia had a thing once, but that whole ordeal was more of a human rights crisis and just generally a painful, tragic mess. I don’t think Vincent could really love like that again, not for many years. He aches, even in places he forgets aren’t meant to ache. Especially those. I think he gives everyone a little love in the help he hands out. Vincent’s heart is big and broken, and he fears that if he fills it too much, it’ll burst, and he’ll be left a beast. He needs to learn that he is worthy, but that is a task he must undertake.
Favorite headcanon: Can’t really think of any, as despite his mysterious nature, Vince doesn’t leave too many loose threads in areas of My ConcernTM-- Though if I’m gonna make one up, him, Barret and Cid get together on Saturday nights to hang out around a fire with some beers and have some good Dad Talks-- Peak DILF solidarity, tbh.
But yeah!!!! Took awhile to write out, hopefully these are sufficient enough for you, O’ Valenwind Extraordinaire beloved! Again, as always, feel free to tack on any further thoughts of your own! Love a good discussion <3 Makes this little corner of the fandom feel warmer.

Zack never survived the Nibel Reactor and therefore couldn't rescue Cloud from Hojo's clutches. From this single point of divergence, the story unfolds.
“Shit! Shit! Shit!” - Cid Highwind
Preview of Chapter 23 - The Ancient Temple
“That must be it,” Cid says as he circles the Wutai carrier above a strip of tropic islands. Azure waters shimmer against sandy white shorelines, and rocky beaches press beneath thick jungle canopies.
Despite the otherwise clear weather, dense fog covers an island in the archipelago. Poking above the obscured tree line is the tip of a jet-black temple whose composition alters from glossy to matte with each strike of sunlight.
“Well, that’s...ominous,” Aerith says, leaning against the window.
Cloud couldn’t agree more. The hues of sky near the temple’s apex are sour yellow, and flocks of parrots spiral to avoid its vicinity.
“Can we get on the ground now?” Yuffie moans from the cabin. She’s curled on the floor to stymie her motion sickness while Barret paces and periodically curses Cait Sith.
“I knew that mother-fucker was up to no good,” Barret kept saying, but now that the temple is close, he stands beside Tifa near the pilot’s chair. “That don’t look like something the Cetra could build.”
It’s true. The angle of the crux is perfect. The material has a deep smooth luster that shifts dark colors and mirrors its surroundings like a window into a shadowed world. The Cetra are an ancient race, presumably without the tools or capabilities for such precision. But more importantly, this place does not appear welcoming. And weren’t the Cetra benevolent custodians of the Planet?
Tifa’s arm brushes against Cloud as she points at a clearing near the edge of the fog.
“There, look,” she says.
A Shinra helicopter sits motionless and vacant. Its windows carry a sheen of translucent dust.
“The hell? That it? No troops?” Barret asks.
It’s strange. There should be more Shinra officials or patrolling Turks. But aside from the scurrying lizards, there are little signs of life.
Nanaki stretches and lifts his nose to peer out. Vincent crosses his arms, watching without comment.
“Shinra knows we are coming,” Nanaki says.
Yet maybe not. They have the keystone, so perhaps they’ve already plundered whatever treasure lay within, though judging by the look on Aerith’s face this seems unlikely. She’s concentrating hard as if deciphering a masterful puzzle.
Tifa smiles over at Cloud. He hasn’t spoken to her about last night, but it doesn’t feel necessary. Nothing between her is uncomfortable. Affections turned tangible, and neither has regrets. He likes that he can trust this sensation. It seems the only unquestionable piece of him.
Cid lands the carrier next to the Shinra chopper because there is nowhere else in the temple’s vicinity, and Aerith asks him to get as close as possible.
When he cuts the engines and slides open the doors, a cacophony of jungle noises and hot muggy air assaults them. Giant insects buzz by, and curious predators slink in the outskirts of their arrival. The Shinra chopper rests inert with one door open, interior console blinking on standby as if the pilot had been in an extreme hurry.
The wall of fog is ahead, and beyond that, the temple rises.
The group hesitates. Yuffie swats at a fat mosquito. Nanaki tilts his head at the screen of mist.
“Is it...safe?” Tifa asks, but of course, nobody knows.
Cloud steps into the fog. Immediately, he’s cut off into another world of compact, quiet forest. The distant chirp of birds is behind him, and the sun is blotted out.
“It’s fine,” he reports, inhaling the odorless mist. “Just fog. Must be a weird weather phenomenon.”
There’s nothing alive in the jungle on this side of the border. The trees are frozen in full bloom, but no wind rustles the foliage. The shades of green seem muted and timeless. Cloud touches the leaves from a vine growing around a tree, and the particles turn to dust in his fingers.
The others enter behind him until the fog encompasses them all. Aerith leads the way forward. The peak of the temple somehow seems more prominent now and dominates the skies.
They follow her in silence, though Cloud insists on taking point in case of Shinra ambush. But as they venture forward, that possibility seems far remote. There is nothing and no one around. The temperature drops as they weave through the jungle in the shadow of the temple. Their boots crunch over dry leaves and brittle vines.
The base of the temple appears like a sudden sheet of milky glass. There are no markings in its facade nor windows or entry of any kind. The mist creates a low ceiling, the illusion of suffocation. As the others wander on, following the structure’s perimeter, Cloud finds himself caught in the intrigue of his reflection. Whenever he glances away, it distends and reintegrates, shimmers and dissolves. Then when he looks again, right at it, the doppelganger disappears and only his own pale blues stare back. He does this double-take four, then five times before a shout calls his attention.
Tifa yells from a distance. The entire party has moved on, and he rushes through the fog along the temple wall, ignoring the sensation of something at his heels.
He finds Aerith equally enthralled nearby. She stands alone, pressing a hand against the temple.
“Did you hear Tifa?” he asks because she’s acting as though she has not. She’s captivated, and his presence startles her.
“I...I can hear something else,” she says. He gets close and listens. Ahead, he hears the commotion of their friends but no urgent cries. No nearby fauna. He hears nothing else.
“The Ancients?” he guesses.
“I don’t know,” Aerith says. “There are many of them.”
Tifa shouts again, and this time it’s in dismay. Alarm. She calls everyone over. Aerith and Cloud move together, and a gap in the mist opens up.
Tifa kneels near a Turk lying on the ground. Red soaks the white shirt beneath the black jacket from a deep slash. He bubbles blood from his lips.
“Tseng!” Aerith runs to his side. “Oh no. No, this can’t be!”
Barret, Cid, and Vincent stand apart, unhelpful, as Tseng sputters a painful-sounding cough. Yuffie and Nanaki are staring at the droplets of blood leading into a narrow archway in the temple. A pattern as if shaken from a long, slender sword. A masamune.
And the entrance, a pyramidal door, beckons into utter black.
Inserted into an indent below is the meteorite. The keystone. Dio’s collector item, unlocking a thousand secrets. Cloud cannot look away.
“Help him!” Aerith says. “Cloud, give me your Restore.”
He pulls his eyes to the suffering Turk. Tseng’s long black hair hangs over a desperate dirt-streaked face. But Tseng is the enemy and a victim of Sephiroth. The General must’ve been here, sought the keystone, and taken it. Which means he’s just ahead. Inside the temple.
“We were wrong...” Tseng whispers. His hands tremble. “It’s not...the Promised Land he’s...”
Aerith soothes him. When the others don’t help her, she explains, “He was always kind to me. The Turks have followed me all my life, but that doesn’t mean any of them deserve to die. Don’t you see?” Her pleading eyes go to Cloud.
He waits, expecting her to whisk a healing breeze out of thin air, but she doesn’t. Maybe she can’t, or maybe Tseng’s wounds aren’t that severe. Sephiroth would’ve killed him if he’d wanted to. But whatever lay ahead was more appealing than Tseng’s death. The Turk wasn’t worth the time.
Cloud steps over Tseng’s body and approaches the entrance. Nanaki and Yuffie stand aside, but he pauses at the gaping void. Cold air coils from the other side, wraps around his forearms. Someone says his name. He thinks it’s Aerith.
Behind him, he sees her kneeling with blood on her dress. Tifa crosses her arms, and Barret gives Cloud a wary look. Cid paces, and Vincent cranes his neck to survey the temple’s peak. Aerith won’t leave Tseng’s side.
Cloud pops the Restore from his sword and tosses it to Aerith. Then he crosses the threshold.
An immediate cool disseminates like static across his skin. The world behind fades away. He hears Aerith activate the Restore, but the swirl of green light doesn’t reach him. The void pulls him forward, and the darkness shifts like a tangible being, becoming darker and lighter as if creatures were moving in its depths. The hallway is longer than it seems, extending beyond the visible footprint of the temple.
Then a rush hits him. It isn’t a physical sensation, but he knows he is falling. On impulse, he curls, shielding his head, yet his feet never leave the ground. The surroundings come up instead of him going down.
A harsh light flares, and in an instant he is outside, overlooking a vast complex of labyrinthine structures: staircases and archways, open-air walkways that loop into corners and angles of confusing geometry. Everything is pale stone and unadorned. The ledge where he stands is crumbled and worn, leading into a stairway that seems undisturbed for eons. The sky is a malachite haze.

As The World Caves In
Listen to: As the World Caves In by Matt Maltese (for the best experience)
Prompt: If Final Fantasy VII had a bad ending
Pairing: Cloud x Aerith
Warnings: mentions of death, injury, depression, end of the world, fighting, starving, paralysis, main character death, FFVII OG spoilers
Word Count: 1k
A/N: This is super angsty. Don’t read it unless you’re prepared for any of the above warnings. I highly recommend listening to “As the World Caves In” while reading, since this is what this fic is based off of. This is partially based off of the Rogue One ending, so spoiler warning there as well. I hope you enjoy reading, this is probably my best written work yet.

Sephiroth was undefeatable.
The team had fought for so long, for so many days, months, years, and in the end, it was for nothing. When Aerith was nearly fatally injured, that’s where their loss began. She could survive, at the cost of being heavily weakened and nearly paralyzed in her lower body. With quick use of leftover materia from Tifa, she survived barely.
Since then, the fight against Sephiroth was hard. Making it to the Northern Crater was nearly impossible. They managed to scrape by when facing Sephiroth for the final time, but it was pointless. They ran out of time.
Meteor began to fall into Midgar. They could only watch in horror as the Lifestream fought it off until it was inevitably defeated. Aerith didn’t have enough strength to use Holy, especially since Sephiroth still blocked it.
It was the end of the world. Meteor would destroy the world, and nothing would be left in this void.
Cloud couldn’t remember much of their final days. He remembered that he agreed to take care of Aerith until the end. They solemnly returned to the church in the slums, Aerith wished to speak to the planet one last time before the meteor impacted the Earth, and to set her grief aside. Cloud spent a lot of time thinking about where it all went wrong. Maybe if he did this, maybe if he did that... Maybe if he did something, things would be different. The guilt was beginning to build up as he continued to think about it. Not only did he fail himself, his friends, Zack... He failed the entire world. It made him sick.
He found it hard to look in mirrors or reflections, he couldn’t look Aerith in the eye anymore. Cloud was finding it hard to face the consequences of his failure. He remembered that there was almost nowhere he could look where he was reminded of his failure. The papers say it’s doomsday. He couldn’t face the truth, no matter how many times he was reminded. There had to be something they could do, right?
Aerith tried to reassure and comfort him, even if it was nearly impossible. She would say things like “We did everything we could,” or “It will be okay.” Cloud remembered that there was really nothing she could say that would make him feel better, though. Honestly, he partially blamed her, which he hated about himself. It wasn’t her fault, it was out of her control as well, but had she not gotten injured, or perhaps if she hadn’t survived, there was more they could have done more. His mind made him sick, these thoughts plagued his mind every day until the end.
He remembered since the beginning of the end, he had taken care of Aerith as much as he could. There was no point in working, no point in eating for himself, no point in doing anything than taking care of Aerith. He sacrificed every single thing for Aerith, so that she could live comfortably until the end. He didn’t know if it was because of love, or the built up guilt he’d been carrying since the Temple of Ancients.
He remembered their final day together. Aerith suggested that they wear something nice, since they won’t be able to again. Cloud’s stomach twisted uncomfortably at the thought. They put their final suit on. They paint their fingernails. Aerith explained it as “going out in style.” When they stared in the mirror together, Cloud felt his heart sinking as he reached down to hold Aerith’s hand tightly.
We creep up on extinction. That day had to have been the longest day Cloud had ever experienced. All the shops were closed, there were no restaurants opened, all of Midgar seemed to be mourning for their future. There was nothing to do but sit and wait. The feeling of sickness never left Cloud as he waited for the meteor to collide with the Earth.
Cloud remembered that Aerith guided him up on top of the roof of the church. Up there, they could clearly see the meteor closing in. I pull your arms right in. He embraced Aerith tightly. He wasn’t sure if it was because of fear, guilt or love anymore. All of his emotions blurred together, as well as his memories.
He watched his life like a movie before his eyes. Every single one of his memories, from living in Nibleheim to just a couple days ago played out for him. He remembered everyone in his life. Mom... Zack... Tifa... He thought about his teammates. Barret... Cid... Vincent... Yuffie... Nanaki... Reeve and Cait Sith... He wondered what they were doing now. What was Barret telling Marlene?
He even remembered his enemies. Rufus... Those Turks... Sephiroth... He should have been angry when he thought about Sephiroth, but he could no longer muster up the energy. Cloud missed his mom so much at that moment, but he was thankful she wouldn’t have to experience this.
While he was thinking, he could hear Aerith next to him. She was crying. He stared down at her. There was nothing he could say that would make this situation any better. She wept and shook under his arms. Aerith couldn’t face their fate anymore, her face was hidden in his neck.
Cloud couldn’t pull his gaze away from the meteor. All of his regrets and guilt began to creep up on him as he held Aerith, carefully rocking her back and forth.
And here it is...
Our final night alive.
And as the Earth runs to the ground, oh girl...
Cloud’s eyes widened at the sight of the impact. The desert that went out to the horizon was replaced by the meteor. The Earth shook violently from the impact, the plates above the slums beginning to crumble and fall onto the city below them. The ground in the desert surrounding the meteor rose high into the sky, creating quite the spectacle, until a blinding light replaced the fire and dust in the air.
Cloud remembered holding Aerith tightly, refusing to let go as he gripped onto her, shielding her eyes from the sight. He listened to the cries of the people in the slums, he felt Aerith’s tears on his chest and her shaky hands gripping onto his shirt, he could taste his own sweat and tears as he watched the destruction of his only home. He couldn’t move at all, he could only watch as the light began to engulf everything as it expanded.
He watched the ground dissolve as the light got closer to them, wincing from how bright it was. At the last moment, he shut his eyes tightly and braced for impact, gripping Aerith tighter for the last time.
And then, There was nothing. Everything was dark. Nothing was left behind in the end. A destroyed world, void of life, was all that was left.
The last thing Cloud would ever experience was holding Aerith in his arms until his dying breath.
As the world caves in...

Have you heard about PFA and MFA?
or the full name is ‘Psychological First Aid’ (PFA) and ‘Mental Health First Aid’ (MFA)
Tumblr media
Can we relate it with Cloud Strife? As we all know, Cloud had mental illness and was struggling alone. Let’s take a quick look on this topic then and see if characters in FF7 ever give PFA/MFA to Cloud or to each other. This is going to be a looooong post although I tried to simplified it, so, yeah. Good luck reading this !
Disclaimer : I’m not a psychologist. I’m still a student and psych is not my major field. During my intern, other than we got exposed a lot about psychiatric disorders and ways to deal with them, we also got trained psychological first aid in emergency department. If it wasnt because of this quarantine, i would have finished my training in emergency field. There might be false interpretation here or there, forgive me for that and pls correct any mistake in this post
This will probably trigger LTD. Sorry, but I had to, Pls read this post with open mind. Keep in mind I like both Tifa and Aerith, i have no grudges agaisnt Barret, Vincent, Nanaki or Cid so I am not being bias with any of them. I forgot a lot of stuff in OG (I played it when I was really really small), so I will be using lots FF7R and AC references here (and a bit from OG, depends whatever I remember)
Good to go? Allow me to rant. Read it slowly and if u skip some of it, u’ll probably mislead my actual words, and u’ll be triggered af. Don’t come at me with madness if u dont read the whole post properly
What is PFA and MFA? Generally speaking, if Basic First Aid is about covering the wound to prevent further bleeding, then PFA (Psychological First Aid) and MFA (Mental Health First Aid) is like applying a bandage on ur mental to avoid u continue being distress.
Usually, PFA is often associated with disaster event or terrorism, where large number of people got affected. Meanwhile, MFA focus in one person who is developing mental health prob or already in mental crisis due to certain traumas, such as vehicle accident, house burned and etc
Pls note that, certain people NEED MFA while the others may NOT NEED it. It is important to respect their needs/wants. Some victims may refuse verbally but they ACTUALLY NEED it (CLOUD STRIFE) and maybe some victims look like they dont need it, but they want it, and its super fine to give it
Tumblr media
PFA/MFA not only done by the professionals and it is not a professional counselling, although necessarily training is needed if u want to approach deeper in this field. PFA/MFA is also not a psychological ‘debriefing’ - in which MFA/PFA doesnt need to involve a detailed discussion of the trauma event with the victim, but instead, it is an alternative way to psychological debriefing that helps for long-term recovery. (unless if ure a pscyhiatrist, then u have to forget about MFA and ask detailed questions regarding the events to help the patient to recover)
MFA and PFA both almost the same, but I will mention more about MFA here.
MFA (Mental Health First Aid) is not just about comforting “Oh, are u alright. I’m sorry for what u’ve been through”, but it is also about assessing their needs and concerns, protecting them from harm, provide practical support and support them feeling able to help themselves and others.
The main key for these two term is RESPECT - respect victim’s dignity, respect both parties safety and respect victim’s rights to make decision. Even without the PFA, we should respect these three in whatever circumstance we are in.
A lot of us honestly were born with natural skill of MFA bcause of our own empathy, instinct or experiences and some got trained professionally. Some of them already had MFA due to high common senses they have.
Tumblr media
Some of the Do’s and Dont’s when giving MFA include;
Do’s : 1. Be trustworthy | 2. Respect their decision | 3. Be aware of and set aside ur bias | 4. Make it clear to them u are available for help even they push u away | 5. Respect their privacy and personal space | 6. Do remain calm and soft when the person in distress | 7. Listen and don’t interrupt their talking | 8. Help in terms of basic needs | 9. Create connection the person with others | 10. Give hope to them | 11. Provide private place to talk about the event | 12. Respect their strenght | 13. Advice small necessary matters or give simple words of encouragement | 14. Acknowledge positive features of what victims have done
Dont’s : 1. Rush in whatever the thing theyre doing with u | 2. Be dismissive | 3. Make promises u know can’t keep | 3. Ask anything in return for helping them | 4. Exaggerate ur skills | 5. Force help on people, being pushy | 6. Pressure them to tell their story | 7. Judge that person | 8. Put the person in risk of harm as result of ur actions | 8. Force them to accept ur idea/Listening to ur rant | 9. Talk rough | 10. Being bias with the people | 11. Touching that person too much | 12. Talk with the person in negative terms | 13. Abandon the person’s feeling
To simplify, there are 3 ways for MFA to begin, and I will only talk about one of them, the one that is the hardest to do, that is when u notice someone looks distressed and ure concern about them, and leading u to approach them first without them noticing ur concern. [Am I putting the right words here?]
Tumblr media
In Cloud’s case, who do u think the first noticed Cloud behaved oddly and went to help him first ? - yeah Tifa. U probably would say “OFC she went to help him, she met him first at the train station. That guy looked sick af, who wouldnt ask if he was alright. If Aerith/Yuffie/Jessie met him first, they would do the same”. Okay guys, that was not my point.
Let’s focus one by one characters and see what Do’s and Dont’s MFA (Mental Health First Aid) they’ve done to Cloud and other charas. Keep in mind, none of them know what Cloud had gone through, but Cloud had showed some obvious sign he was unwell and only a few of them noticed that and took action for it.
The symbol [X] means the Dont’s in MFA and ( ✔) means the Do’s in MFA.
Biggs Jessie Wedge -
I know there’s a thing about man helping man’s psychology and Jessie being flirty with a guy. They [X] thought Cloud was like how they saw Cloud. and they considered it as normal. They didnt see Cloud under distress so they dont have the need to concern his mental status. The good thing about them was, the three of them (✔) respect Cloud’s strenght, giving Cloud the confident to be in action. But, Jessie [X] had zero respect on Cloud’s personal space
Tumblr media
I wanna highlight about Biggs. Biggs had an attitude of overthinking stuff, but it wasnt so bad that would cause him harm, he just cared too much about his friends. So I believe Biggs was the type that would notice immediately when his friend being strange and would give MFA (Mental Health First Aid) with his own instinct even without the person asking it.
Tumblr media
During the Sector 7 Plate attack, where Biggs was severely injured, when Cloud said he was not a fan of kids and Biggs said Cloud had so much in common (in common of what? Cloud with the kids or Cloud with him?), Cloud gave him ‘a sad look’ and Biggs reached out his hand to Cloud’s head. Biggs (✔) remain calm and soft when dealing with Cloud’s feeling (who faced traumatic event but Biggs didnt know about it) on that moment despite his current physical status. And also he (✔) wished goodluck to Cloud, leading to prevention distress on Cloud
Marle -
Tumblr media
Marle [X] judged Cloud for someone who had no skills, but she entrusted Cloud to take care of Tifa’s well being. Not knowing who Cloud was, Marle noticed Cloud looked glum, she (✔) offered her ear for Cloud to rant and knew right away he was not having enough sleep, then (✔) advising him to sleep more . Lol, she was [X] biased with Cloud and Tifa. Not her fault, she only knew Tifa’s story, not Cloud’s. After the Sector 7 plate fall, we saw her being the most active member to help with the remaining citizens there. Marle without a doubt had given the citizens there PFA (Psychological First Aid) , by helping them with their (✔) basic needs, (✔) create connections, (✔) put away bias, (✔) remain calm and soft.
Tumblr media
Barret Wallace -
Tumblr media
Barret was the same like Biggs Jessie Wedge. I’m sure Barret thought Cloud was just fine. Barret saw Cloud as a mercenary with stinky attitude,[X] judging him like that causing Barret to gave him the same attitude too. But overall, he (✔) respected Cloud’s strength a lot
Tumblr media
However, after the Sector 7 plate fall, Tifa and Barret were the one that hurt (mentally) the most, Tifa as usual locking her emotions, there we could see how Barret comforting Tifa by (✔) giving words of encouragement and proceed on (✔) hugging her to show his empathy. Barret also (✔) remain calm and soft spoken when talking to the survival victims of Sector 7 citizens. He also (✔) acknowledged what the citizens had done to survive
Tumblr media
Vincent Valentine -
Tumblr media
Don’t be surprise Vincent was listed here. This guy here was like another version of Cloud but more mature. In addiction, they both kinda share the same pain. So, I personally think Vincent understands Cloud pretty well. In AC, where Cloud was mentally ill, Vincent saved Cloud from Kadaj and brothers and (✔) took him to safer place. That was a common thing to do. But let’s go deeper, Cloud never told him about himself, but Vincent already  (✔) aware of Cloud’s trouble with the geostigma stuff and Cloud’s current mental status. Vincent, (✔) calm and soft like always (✔) didnt hesitate to asked if all of these were just about ‘fighting’ and it made Cloud to ‘re-think’ further about his problem. He (✔) didnt pressure Cloud here, instead he was (✔) helping Cloud to understand the condition he was facing, and this lead Cloud to avoid distress.
Aerith Gainsborough -
Tumblr media
I know Aerith was special. She was an important character and devs created her to be ‘loved’ by the fans so that her death would be tragic. Aerith did almost all the things that shouldnt be done when giving MFA to mentally ill person. Some of u may say “Duh, Aerith didnt know anything about Cloud thus she had no intentions of giving him MFA”. Yup, ure right. Aerith didnt know about Cloud’s mental status but so as all the other characters in the series.
Tumblr media
Aerith was [X] being pushy with Cloud, in lots of ways, from making him as a bodyguard for free to forcing him to wear a dress. She [X] forced Cloud to accept her idea about meeting Andrea, dance and gown. She also [X] forced Cloud to help picking the flowers. Aerith [X] didn’t let Cloud to have his own decision [X] neither giving him a chance to talk,  and [X] abandon his feelings (cough..uhm, Aerith resolution). She also had [X] no respect on Cloud’s personal space and [X] too much touching and leaning to him. Aerith also [X] put herself in danger and that worried Cloud.  She [X] looked down on Cloud in someways too
Tumblr media Tumblr media
However, at the Sector 5 slum, where the hooded man appeared, Aerith noticed Cloud was having trouble with himself, she (✔) encouraged Cloud to keep himself together. Also, throughout the entire game, Aerith always remind the team to (✔) have hope in everything. Her positive vibrant attitude was what (✔) made everyone able to believe in themselves. She also (✔) ensure Marlene’s safety and protected her. She was able to (✔) remain soft and calm when approaching Marlene. Remember Betty? Aerith took her time to helped her out and she even (✔) respected the little girl’s strength, (✔)slow and steady when saving her and (✔)soft spoken
Tumblr media
Tifa Lockhart -
Tumblr media
Tifa met Cloud at the train station, saw him being ‘not-so-fine’ state despite Cloud claiming he was completely okay. Tifa didn’t know what Cloud had gone through and  she (✔) didn’t pressure him to talk about it. She even helped him to (✔) find a place to sleep even when Cloud never asked for it. Tifa unconsciously was the first person to give Cloud MFA without knowing what Cloud had faced previously. And Cloud, on that moment, he really needed a help. Tifa also (✔) stated that if Cloud need anything, she would help him with it
Tumblr media
Tifa (✔) remain calm everytime Cloud had sudden headache, she didn’t leave him alone and (✔) didnt put any pressure on him by asking question. During the (✔) Alone At Last, they had privacy Tifa asked about what happened after he left Nibelheim. She (✔) listened and didnt interrupt him, (✔) neither pushing him to talk more. Moreover, Tifa (✔) put a distance with Cloud, dunno if she was the one who was being uncomfortable or she actually (✔) respect Cloud’s personal space and privacy. Tifa (✔) didn’t force him to stay at Midgar, she asked him and was glad Cloud would stay for a while. Tifa was no doubt (✔) respect all Cloud’s decisions too. Also, don’t forget, Tifa also helped Cloud to help (✔) make ‘close connection’ with the Avalanche members and people in Sector 7 slums. She also (✔) didn’t do much touching with Cloud (Well, I mean, she didnt touch him in clingy way)
Tumblr media
In AC, Tifa (✔) encouraged Cloud to have hope for Geostigma and the family
Tumblr media
Tifa did [X] put herself in danger by becoming Corneos bride participant and that gave Cloud trouble (but Tifa ensured him she would be fine on her own previously) And btw, in OG, I read about the fans questioning why Tifa [X] didnt tell Cloud the truth. I would like to argue this matter. TIFA IS A CHARACTER WITH REAL HUMAN FLAWS, she too had her own traumatic event and was not really sure of herself on what to do. However, considering what Tifa had done for him, Tifa had helped with Cloud’s psychology the most.
Tumblr media
I know Cloud was putting up a font, and that made him to have condescending attitude, and people couldnt see what Cloud was hiding behind the the bravery face. However, all of us as fans acknowledged the pain Cloud was suffering in the entire FF7 story. Some of the characters like Tifa, Marle, Vincent, Biggs noticed it and they took actions for it, while others, I do personally thing, they were hurting the Real Cloud’s mentality more.
Long story short, Tifa was the one who gave mental health support the most to Cloud, followed by Vincent (AC), Biggs and Marle. Aerith did the worst with Real Cloud's mentality + she then died, mking Cloud be more miserable,
Tumblr media
However, Aerith actually had the best way to give MFA/PFA to children, but maybe the worst to Cloud. While Tifa gave the best MFA to Cloud which helped him to get himself together through out the entire time
Alright thats the end of my talk. Thank you for being with meee

Note
Eh? I tot he asked all 3 of them to have some kind of picnic, its shown in after credit AC. But then its also assumption. Another assumption: he asked tifa to close the bar (date), then tifa said something and cloud said ‘thats easy, pls tell marlene and denzel’, it might mean tifa asking how about the kids and cloud said thats easy (he might already asked barret’s help here, he just from there). I mean there’s a reason why we cannot hear tifa voice here. I forgot SE has many subtle code. How?
So, we’re supposed to take the entire thing as a whole.
Opens with Yuffie telling Cloud to go to Barret’s. Cloud hasn’t answered, so this is a message she leaves.
Next is Cloud answering the phone to Cid -- who is amazed Cloud picked up, so yay for character development -- and he informs us that Yuffie called him.
This is a link in a chain. This is Cloud’s friends trying to arrange the date because Cloud is a butt.
Cloud says he’s “been busy” -- which is a hint he’s been busting his ass clearing his schedule -- and Cid complains that he “doesn’t want any part of this” and Cloud needs to go to Barret’s.
This is Cid telling us he doesn’t want to play set the dorks up on a date.
Next call and it’s Vincent, who now has a phone and has also been roped in by Yuffie to get Cloud over there. Cloud replies he’s “heading that way already.”
So, from Cloud we learn that he’s deliberately cleared his schedule of work ahead of time and was always planning to go to Barret’s without anyone nagging him. What we don’t learn is why he chose to head to Barret’s, but if he was looking for subterfuge to explain why he’s back at 7th Heaven so early with nothing to do then saying he’s taking a message from Barret to Marlene would cover it and remove any potential embarrassment in case Tifa isn’t pleased to see him. Remember, these two are idiots with their feelings for each other and can’t express themselves properly even though they clearly love each other. By the end of the clips Cloud’s become confident that his overtures would be accepted, which is why he calls Tifa.
Aside: Vincent and Cloud are such bros here because of how natural and friendly they are towards each other, which is fun to see how each member of the team views the other. Vincent looks at Yuffie like an annoying little sister and at Cloud as someone he can confide in.
Next time we see Cloud he’s met up with Barret, who wants Cloud to deliver a couple of things to Marlene and Denzel -- which is exactly the kind of excuse Cloud was looking for. And then we get the link back up with Yuffie from the start because she’s the one who gifts Cloud the closed sign for 7th Heaven and was telling him to go see Barret. So, Cloud has the excuse and the impetus to go on a date. Also, the fact that Yuffie is close with Tifa and is the one gifting the sign implies that Tifa requested a closed sign. It’s a hint from Tifa to Cloud that she wants to close 7th Heaven and go out somewhere. Cloud takes the gifts and turns to go before Barret’s even finished speaking to him. He’s in a hurry. Why? Because he’s going home. He’s got his subterfuge and doesn’t need to hang around.
Last call and it’s Cloud calling Tifa. Bet nobody spotted that. The silence when the phone picks up is where Tifa’s asking if it’s Cloud and he says yeah.
We can’t hear Tifa’s voice during this exchange. This is all Cloud to her.
So, Tifa assumes he’s calling about work and Cloud clears that up straight away and says to refuse more work. Cloud. The guy who will take any job for the right price. Telling a customer no. Then he asks if she can close the bar tomorrow and she says yes, and he remarks -- to himself -- how easy it was. Because he’s that kind of idiot and still isn’t confident in how much Tifa loves him. This is why communication matters. Then he says to tell Denzel and Marlene. He means tell them the bar is closed and they won’t be around. Cloud and Tifa won’t be around. It’s not a family outing. It’s Cloud and Tifa going out and they need to let the kids know they won’t be there and they need to take care of themselves for a few hours.
Yeah, I know, no adult supervision, but it’s a dystopian society and kids are latchkey kids, so this makes perfect sense. When Tifa and Marlene went to the church they left Denzel alone in 7th Heaven. This is the same thing. Denzel wasn’t bed bound the entire time because otherwise he wouldn’t have got taken, so there’s precedent for kids just doing their own thing and we’ve seen more evidence of that in the slums during Remake when kids just do whatever they want during the day and only stay indoors at night. The only time we see kids with their parents is after dark.
So, Reminiscence of Final Fantasy is an actual date and not a family outing.
Why tf did people think it was a family outing? Is this more gaslighting?

I FINISHED FF7 ORIGINAL GAME
BLOODY HELL!
NOW I TRULY UNDERSTAND WHY EVERYONE SAYS IT’S THE BEST FINAL FANTASY EVER MADE!
i did everything! Golden Chocobo, all the limits, Ultimate, Emerald and Ruby Weapons. Knights of Round Materia, got all the possible materias, level 99 with every character(but Aerith but she dies in CD1...good luck levelling her up at that point without exp plus or without save editors), got the cool submarine, dated Tifa, got all the huge materias at the first try which means that i did Cid’s and Barret’s character arcs, then i did everyone’s character arc, got a huge affection with Tifa so at the end of CD2 i get the most romantic dialogue with Cloud(yeah there are two: if you have less than 50 affection points Tifa is a bit colder, but i had her over 50 so she was so nice and cute) i did bloody everything perfectly!
Okay now that i bragged let’s get serious:
I loved the plot...like seriously i love pretty much every Final Fantasy before FF10 with a few nitpicky exceptions
But Final Fantasy 7? i love everything of it...i hate the minigames but at the same time love them!
I loved the characters...i can’t really say much bc i enjoyed them at their max...although my party was constantly Cloud + Tifa + Barret(aside from when i was levelling up the characters) only once i had Cloud + Tifa + Aerith willingly: Cosmo Canyon @silver-wield i swear Bugehangen(Red’s step-grandfather) makes a long monologue about the lifestream and Aerith doesn’t even speak once! I mean she is the Ancient along with Red/Nanaki but not even a word!
The plot goes as it should but really in the fandom(thanks to FF7R’s fans) the old Clerith vs Cloti shippers is more alive than ever...and i don’t understand the Clerith’s fans...like really Aerith (in the Original Game) is important only in CD1 Cloud met her in Midgar, she goes with him then..she is a background character until Gongaga and it’s only for like 3-4 lines of dialogue...because Zack is her boyfriend then the next important Aerith's scene is in the Ancient Temple close to Mideel, where she translates the ancients’ language inside the Temple, then Sephiroth controls Cloud like a puppet who beats the living hell out of her, Cloud gives the black materia to Sephiroth, she runs away to the Forgotten City(the city of the Ancients/Cetras) she charges the White Materia...and then she dies...
Then we have a comatose/catatonic Cloud in Mideel, the entire CD2 until like the last ten minutes where only then Aerith is mentioned to be one of the reasons why everyone is fighting (i mean that every single character has a personal reason + avenging Aerith) and this thing is mentioned a couple of times in CD3 and she appears in the ending of the game(post-Final Battle) the same way she appears at the beginning of the game...that’s it.
I don’t hate Aerith, i’m okay with her character and personality...i’m not into her, but i like her in general but really, her death is iconic but not so emotional...she barely has any screen time in the game, i didn’t manage to develop a full emotional connection with her(you know, that thing when you love a fictional character and you feel bad when they’re unhappy or they die), visually speaking that scene is awesome and powerful, but emotionally? Meh! I couldn’t care less i was more concerned for the materias i left on her, if i cried it was because i didn’t know if i would lose all the materias i gave her XDXD
Now we talk about Cloud and Tifa...god, they’ve tons of moments together, they share a past together, they even shared a mental connection together(because they fall in the Lifestream under Mideel and Tifa fixes Cloud’s mind) they shared everything together, same town, many moments in tons of flashbacks, in Crisis Core we really see Cloud all shy and concerned because he feels bad for not being SOLDIER...they share that moments under the Highwind and they spends a day together(somewhere i even read that it’s implied that they do lewd things together at that point, i don’t believe it...probably a few kisses but nothing really lewd...just some hand-holding without gloves...maybe XD)
I’m not saying Aerith is bad for Cloud or else...just they met and spent very little time together and for half of that time Cloud felt guilty and ashamed because he beat her and then almost killed her with the Buster Sword(canonically Cloud never changed weapon in FF7) so imagine the shock of almost killing your best friend's girlfriend with his sword(yeah the sword is Angeal’s but Cloud doesn’t know about that part) after you punched her multiple times, yeah he can excuse himself by saying “Sorry but i was controlled by Sephiroth there is nothing i could do back then so...i moved on” <-- do you really think Cloud is that superficial? Enough to leave Nibelheim promising everything to the girl he likes only to live tons of dramas, almost dying while he saves her. I mean even with his memories mixed up Tifa is the only person in his mind that it’s not changed...like the common thing between Cloud’s persona and the actual events and real memories of Cloud. In the lifestreams(but even in Kalm Town during the first flashback of Nibelheim, and in the flashback about the promise) Tifa is the only thing that never changed inside Cloud’s mind, he has a meltdown(and becomes catatonic) when at the end of CD1 Tifa hesitates about what happened (for real) in Nibelheim...literally Tifa holds so much power over Cloud to literally destroy his mind with some hesitations...it’s scary as hell but in this situation is also nice and cute because it really shows how much Cloud trusts her and takes her in consideration...
i’m dismantling Clerith but guys seriously, Zerith is so much better than Clerith, Zack and Aerith actually spend time together in Crisis Core, Aerith wrote 89 letters over the arc of 4-5 years, still waiting for him, that’s the nice thing, the cute things i love(and i’m about to play Crisis Core soon enough u.u i wanna try it) but seriously, leave Cloud alone...(possibly with Tifa or Barret if you dated him at the Golden Saucer or you like Rabtoon’s parody XDXD)
Ps: Cloti for me can also be just a friendly relationship...but Advent Children shake its head like “Nope Derok, they’re a couple, don’t try to sugarcoat it for the sake of Clerith’s fans!”
youtube
In all honesty, there is not much else to talk about because the rest of the game is so damn good that there are no opinions, interpretations or doubts...the facts around the game are so clear that i don’t think can be verbal wars about stuff...only comments about facts and unchangeable things...XD
