I wish there were more people who shipped Arthur and Gwaine instead of the made-up rivalry for Merlin's affection or the made-up "Gwaine hated Arthur" because where the fuck did you get that? My guy did not say "Maybe some nobles are worth dying for" and then proceed to die to protect Arthur's location for you to come up with that. He was so protective of Arthur on multiple occasions he loved him so much and yet here we are.

They're so "10 Things I Hate About You." Like can you imagine the scene when Kat recites the poem, but it's how Arthur feels about Gwaine? It would be so good.

They would also make a great Tangled AU. I've seen people say this before, but no one ever wrote the fanfic because apparently it's only me and five other people who ship them seriously.

This is the first time I've ever participated in a Big Bang, let alone After Camlann! I had an absolute blast drawing these illustrations for @thenerdyindividual's fic The Challenge of the Fey Court, but it's not nearly the amount I wanted to draw! Nerdy's writing had me so inspired.

I highly recommend checking out Nerdy's fic, especially if you're weak for fae/fairies, arranged marriage, two sides of the same idiot completing challenges together, and merwainethur.

Summary:

Balinor meets Hunith and falls madly in love with her. When Ealdor experiences a terrible famine, Balinor takes it upon himself to save them. He makes an agreement with the King of the Seelie (Uther); thirty years of good harvest in exchange for Balinor's first born. Balinor leaves Hunith with the intention of never having a child with her or any other woman. The problem? Hunith is already with child. Twenty years later, Merlin is fulfilling Balinor's end of the bargain. He just hopes that his fey husband isn't a complete prat, and that things go smoothly. Things do not go smoothly. Merlin was not expecting to have to complete seven courtship challenges before being allowed to wed The Bear Prince of the Seelie. Nor was he expecting his future husband to already be in love with someone else.

This is my entry for this year's @aftercamlann big bang event! This fic kicked my butt, but it was so worth it to get to see the amazing illustrations pyjamacryptid made for me! The cover art is just the beginning, there is even more art inside the fic so check it out! I am really proud of this fic, and I hope you all enjoy it.

The wind whipped the jacket from his hand. “It’s the fastest way to warm him back up.”

Hurt/Comfort, huddling for warmth, emotionally stunted but sweetheart Arthur, and a happy poly ending for all of them? Yeah. This entire fic feels like a warm blanket itself and single-handedly turned me into a whump!Gwaine fan I think, 10/10 no notes <3

I'm such a sucker for this trope and it just works SO well for the three of them. The trio is mostly implied at the end but I actually liked it best that way, it's such a great snapshot of the dynamic between Arthur and Gwaine, what's missing and what isn't, with the 'fix' mostly left in the air because really, they probably don't know exactly, either.

Arthur's not a prude, but he does think the number of times he's walked in on his flatmates having at it probably qualifies them for some sort of general obscenity charge.

While this is mostly PWP, it just feels SO true to the dynamic of Merlin and Gwaine being little shits and entirely making it Arthur's problem. There's bets about who will get whom of quicker. It's excellent.
