Sharing this because it is relevant to ANY industry, but I feel there are a lot of art kids out there who are also listening to that voice in our heads that we need to ignore. Do the thing. Apply for the job. Even if your work isn’t up to someone’s standards. If you keep applying and improving over time, someone is gonna notice. Someone is gonna remember and that becomes a separate portfolio/resume all its own.

If they were in a university setting, what do you think the characters would be studying?

Soap definitely being a chemistry major, maybe also having a particular interest in astronomy. Physically a meathead but in mind and soul he's a nerd. Has glow in the dark plastic stars and planets on his walls and ceilings along with pictures of galaxies. Cried when the first picture of a black hole was taken. "SHE'S SO BEAUTIFUL."

Price is a history major, specializes in wars and military. Was the kid that knew all the "fun facts" about WWI and WWII. He enjoys the unknown details of them. "Did you know in-" is the sign you should leave the room. Has too many history books in his room, and yes he's read them all and then some.

Gaz being a psychology major. Obsessed with thrillers and suspense films, analyzes people in real life (but only in private with his friends). He's interested in having a career in law enforcement and criminal psychology. Is very good at reading people when he isn't trying. Unofficial therapist in his friend group.

Ghost is a literature major. Good with his words (when he wants to be) and is considered a brilliant mind when he tries. Spends his spare time working out and in the library. Claims to not have a favorite author but does have a favorite genre: Romantic Dramas. He isn't shameful about it, he's openly proud of being a romantic at heart. Never mind his favorite story elements being murder and kidnapping.

The short answer: "not at the moment, but it is very possible in the future'!

The slightly longer answer: I would have to figure out a good pricing and payment system! PD-MDZS is also where most of my free time goes, so until my life settles down a bit, I would be on the slow side to complete them.

i understand and appreciate the sentiment behind them but god, as someone in the process of getting an art degree and intending to pursue a career in art, those "don't get a job doing what you love because you'll start to hate it" posts are depressing

the queens are on a road trip and they have one of those vans where you can sit in the trunk with the extra chairs (course of course Jane/Lina would get them that) and at one point Anne falls asleep in the car and Cathy is just left there screaming crying dying internally and just is an absolute tomato (bonus points if Cathy is shorter since that would be funny)

when i was in highschool one o my biggest coping mechanisms was drawing all the kids i hated getting killed and eaten and killed. and well. time is a slowly ascending spiral. you will find patterns.(i work as a blackjack dealer. gamblers are FASCINATING

I should say something clearly: the more ridiculous and less realistic violence is, the less likely it counts as a threat. So saying something completely ridiculous, absurd, and partially impossible (think: cartoonish) DOES NOT count as a threat. And threatening to report that to authorities is… somewhere between “unacceptable” and outright “the police will get mad at you instead” because it’s a free speech issue.

Now, business majors learn this first year because so many of us end up in tech or social media marketing.

So a certain CEO pretending not to know and making a special exception because his feelings got hurt, then threatening to contact the FBI, especially implying that further publicity will cause the report (when the platform he is in charge of does not remove or report domestic terrorist threats to the FBI) is… threading EXTREMELY dangerous territory for his career and business.

Free student professional consulting advice: I would strongly advise him to stop, shut up, delete everything, restore the account, and pretend like this never happened if he wants another job after this and doesn’t want to become a laughingstock on multiple other social media platforms while ruining his company’s brand.

Otherwise, I would keep doing what he’s doing but maybe take fewer trips on private jets. He’ll need to start pinching pennies soon.

Elon Musk can do it because he has already squirreled away more billions of dollars than you can even count. Anyone else’s reputation would be toast forever. And their monetization channels would instantly dry up. Forever.

i need people to start paying me for every time they tell me "oh but ur arts so good ur wasting ur talent u need to do it professionally" wrong i need to do art to draw beautiful characters that not a single other person cares about while feeding every ounce of love i have into my work or to convey thoughts & feelings beyond words and to even think of doing otherwise is to deny my own nature "oh but u can do what u want and then sell it" why is everything about money to you why cant u just enjoy things at what point in ur life did u forget how to have fun

sorry if this has been asked before, where did you learn to draw, and do you draw professionally or just for fun? ive hit that stage where i think my art would improve a lot if i had a mentor to give me feedback and im looking for some good resources.

I didnt go anywhere to learn or anything, just kept it up and practiced by myself, and I only draw for fun except when I occasionally open commissions or assist in merch-making for zines.
