Ya know, I was thinking about Rebirth today and I remembered this ending of Intermission and got confused.

Cos....where is this Zack? Or rather, WHEN was he?

We know Rebirth!Zack carried Cloud to Midgard, saw the news and immediately rushed to save Aerith. So he can't be at her church practicing hello. Intermission Zack isn't dirty, he doesn't carry Cloud, there's no indication in Rebirth about there are ppl crying in Aerith's church. This cutscene is an entirely different reality from Rebirth.

Like I'm so confused rn, is there more than 1 Zack? Where is this Zack now?? When did this happen??? Does this world get destroyed along the other at the end of Rebirth????

alright i'm writing that analysis post and i've already managed to refer to eliot spencer as "everyone's favourite murder encyclopedia" which i think is just casually one of my favourite things i've ever written about him.

thinking about. the sovereign of elegance battle.

how initially nikki seems pretty caught off guard by being puppeted around, and almost like she's in a trance? she definitely doesn't feel fully there, her movements are a lot more limp and being VERY distinctly controlled. she feels more distant, more hazy.

but then there's the point about halfway into the battle where the banshee has her hand over nikki's face, like she's still trying to control her, and nikki looks away. meets the banshee's eyes instead.

and the banshee's own expression shifts, there, too. nikki looks almost defiant, and the banshee isn't quite taken aback or surprised by that, but she doesnt seem to have anticipated it? it seems like she's curious, intrigued. seeing nikki look at her so fearlessly, even after being puppeted by her. almost like a challenge of her own.

and after that, nikki's movements shift. they feel more fluid, graceful, more like nikki is the one in control. matching the banshee's motions and her energy, no longer enthralled but choosing herself to continue the dance. they circle each other and nikki is smiling, like she's genuinely enjoying herself.

if you fail the battle, the banshee and nikki reach out to each other, but the banshee pushes forward as nikki pulls her own hand away, looking more hesitant, almost afraid again. and if you perfect it, nikki pulls away, but not out of fear. she spins again, smiling, taking a bow. enjoying herself, still. regarding the banshee as an equal, even though the banshee had been trying to subdue her.

after that perfect score, nikki, recognizing the melody. upset that the banshee is leaving. wanting to at least know her name. reaching out to her even as she disappears.

10(ish) Deltarune theories and lore to catch up on before Chapter 3 & 4

As someone who has been deep (AND I MEAN DEEP) in the trenches of Deltarune theories and analysis, I thought I'd share a few ones that you might want to catch up on before Chapters 3 & 4 drop for real, so we can be on the lookout for more secrets! There is so much thought and love and secrets inbuilt into the series, so its really fun to learn about this stuff!

Bolded videos are the ones I would highly recommend watching before Ch3 and 4 drop.

"Everything to look out for in Chapters 3 and 4 of Deltarune" by KazooCat covers most of the lore we are expecting to see in these chapters from the previous newsletters and special events. If you just want a quick recap of what's coming and where we're at, this is a great resource.

2. "The Burgerpants Conspiracy" by cammyboiG is a bit of a crack theory and a very silly video, and it isn't something I necessarily subscribe to, but it does cover some big theories and important ideas, such as chess theory, several candidates for the knight and some general lore, and it's all around a good time with a genuine love for the source material. Go check it out!

3. "The Importance of The Dreamurr divorce in Chapter 3" by StuffedAlpaca discusses the Dreamurr family throughout Undertale and Deltarune with some really insightful and empathetic analysis, very good video for any Kris fans and will almost certainly be relevant in Chapter 3. All around lovely video and a great channel.

I would also recommend Stuffed Alpaca's video on:

A) "Susie and Ralsei's relationship will be more important than you think" discussing how their opposing relationships with both Kris and the player might affect the storyline

4. "Why is Kris so weird?" by HalfBreadChaos. This is a must-watch in my opinion, although I am a bit biased because I absolutely love this channel, it's incredibly smart. Covers some really important elements of Kris's characters and their relevance to magic and ocean and death imagery, and absolutely opened my eyes to some deeper lore within the game. Also, HBC uses a TTS due to their disabilities, so if thats a no for you, thats fair, but please don't hassle them or their community for it, they aren't a bot!

B) "Why is Berdly in Deltarune? An (Over)Analysis" A beautiful character analysis of Berdly for his fans to celebrate and his haters to learn a little bit more about him.

I would also really recommend HalfBreadChaos's video on:

A) "Who is December Holiday in Deltarune" A MUST WATCH if you are behind on Dess lore, or you still don't know who she is. This is your best resource to learn about her.

B) "Don't forget, who is with us in the dark?" discussing potential candidates for the singer of the main song of the series, including taking apart the japanese characters and their significance to each character.

C) "What the Four Shadows Foreshadow" discussing the foreshadowing of the shadow puzzle in Queens mansion in Ch.2.

D) "Puppets and Cats: Elements Revealed in The Spamton Sweepstakes" discussing the element system in the pvp, which will probably become increasingly significant in later chapters.

E) "Who is the Man With The Egg in Deltarune?" discussing the secret egg room and its significance to Gaster and the knight as well as other easter eggs.

F)The smile motifs in Deltarune, which as you might guess, covers the way smiling is used in UTDR universe and why.

Honestly, just go watch all HalfBreadChaos's videos if you want to learn Deltarune lore in full, they use code and translations and previous lore expertly to flesh out theories. But these are my favourites/ the most important ones to know.

5. "Noelle's mother worries me" by Dorked. Covers a bit about what we know about Noelle's family relationships and how it relates to Noelle's personality. Will also probably be relevant in future chapters.

I would also recommend from Dorked:

A) "Ralsei and The Player's concerning relationship." What it says on the tin, but incredibly important for any Ralsei analysis.

B) "The Sans & Ice-E Conspiracy, and Deltarune Papyrus Mysteries" maybe a bit out there, but it does provide a lot of insight into ICE-E and its relevance.

C) "Toriel and Asgore's parenting problems." Like Stuffed Alpaca's video, this covers how Toriel and Asgore's parenting issues affect their children. A lovely character analysis.

Again, a really lovely and insightful channel. These are just a few picks and I would highly recommend you check out more of their videos.

6. "The Universal Mother Theory" by Kooki914. Explores how Queen's relationship to each of the characters resembles their relationship to their mothers. Chapter 2 specific, but I do think it's interesting to consider for other chapters, especially when we begin to learn more about the characters families.

From Kooki914, I would also recommend:

A) "Snowgrave: An exploration of relationships" which explores how Kris and Susie's relationship in the snowgrave route is likened to an abuse marriage.

7. "I think I know what Ralsei is" by SonsaKay." I don't know if I fully subscribe to this theory but O.M.G. I had SO MANY revelations and jaw drop moments watching this video. If you are at all interested in Ralsei's character you MUST MUST watch this.

8. "A Thematic Analysis of Darkness in Deltarune" by Virat Veritas. Just a nice old fashioned thematic analysis; what is says on the tin.

9. "Names, Endings, Prophecy, Power" by Snarlinger. Explores the significance of character names in the UT/DR universe, and links them to religious themes within the text.

10. "I know what the angel's heaven is & how Deltarune will end" by Black Chesnut and "The Religious Symbolism of Deltarune" by Detective Mar. Grouping these together because they're both good insights into the religious symbolism in Deltarune, which is shaping up to be a really prominent theme, and worth knowing a little bit about.

A. In this video, Snarlinger mentions, "Deltarune's story is strongly tied to the Book of Revelation" by Doom64hunter. This is a brilliant in-depth read about how the story of deltarune mirrors the end of the New Testament and so smartly put together.

11. "Who Dr. Gaster Is and Why That Matters to Deltarune" by Mystic Sparkles. Come on guys, we had to have ONE big gaster theory in here and I DID save it to the end. In all seriousness, if you are behind on Gaster lore, or you don't understand why people are using him in Deltarune Analysis, this is a really great resource, and Mystic Sparkles is a delightful commentator.

is exactly what it says on the tin. they're people who i think mapicc would trust not to betray him by going behind his back and who have enough hearts to be useful in pvp against people like flame, mane, or clown. and as u can see,,, this category is empty LOL idt theres anyone he trusts outside of his teammates who has who has the hearts not to quickdrop @_@

no trust but has hearts (rek, hannah, pentar, ecorridor, squiddo, and subz)

is people who have the hearts to theoretically keep up w the 20 heart beasts, but are people mapicc doesnt trust not to use or betray him to varying degrees. (for example, i would not put his distrust in squiddo into the same category as his distrust in team pe OR his lack of trust w hannah)

trust but has no hearts (ro, bacon, and planet)

is people i think mapicc would be confident wouldnt betray him, BUT they lack the hearts (...and pvp skill...) to go into fights w him. like realistically, if he pulled up into a fight w them they'd just be feeding hearts nd loot to players who are already 20 heart beasts LMFAO

no trust AND no hearts (4c, woogie, jumper, leo, spep, terrain, wemmbu, and poafa)

flame is in his own category between teammate and enemies because his relationship w mapicc is complicated. theyve been...allies? teammates? for 3 ish months now and have surprisingly remained loyal to one another despite having no real reason Not to betray. flame is teamed w mane and has made it clear how deeply loyal he is to him, but today he wasnt seen directly helping mane & clown hunt mapey, and he even advised mapicc not to fight clown after asking if they were still cool. so like. its very on the fence, whether they still have trust or not LOL

enemies (clown, mane, sb, pangi, and derap)

people who confirmed want to kill mapicc OR who mapicc himself wants to kill. clown and mane are actively hunting him down and sb is threatening to decimate mawn so, yeah LMFAO. also mapicc made it clear today that although hes civil w derap, he still considers him an enemy.

so!!!! with all of those properly explained— that begs the question, who do i think mapicc WILL go to so he isn't completely alone? and i actually do have someone in mind. BUT!!!! its one person who like kinda comes in a package deal.......

and that person is................

bacon !!! YIPPIE !!!!!!! the reason i think that its bacon of all people that he'll fall back on is bc he has the ex teammate bias for him, bacon actually Plays The Server, he has no reason to betray mapicc, and working w bacon comes working w hannah. working w bacon and hannah makes sense bc although he doesnt have trust in hannah YET, her loyalty to bacon means she is Much less likely to betray mapicc for any reason. hannah herself is high enough on hearts and good enough at pvp to make any uneven fights against mane and clown more survivable at the very least for her and mapicc.

the only other real options mapicc has i think would be like, team pe who i think is wayyyyy too closesly allied w the bfb nd clown for mapicc to trust. derap, who mapicc does Nawt respect or fw enough to trust him not to betray or just Die in fights bc hes lowk a 20 heart qd. and ro, who like, as much as he may trust her she just doesnt play the server nd shes on like 4? 5? hearts so she would just die if he involved her in this— and although she Would walk into a fight knowing she's prob gonna die, it isnt all that helpful if she just dies and dies and dies for him.

Which means this woman had been living this whole time without any other income.

The only explanations for that are:

So like... is no one else wondering wtf happened to Imogen? Kaz drops her name, proceeds to mention he had a crush on her, and then she's just never brought up again. And from those two paragraphs we have of her, she seems like such an icon I would love to know more about.

Is she dead? (I feel like she is). How did she die? Was Kaz there? Did he witness her death? How did her dying effect him, since they were apparently sort of friends? Idk what everyone else thinks, but i am VERY excited to (supposedly) see more of the Trident civilization next episode, especially because we know so little about them.

like they are the only civilization without a specific "role" to them yet.

Swords are our homeland, and seem to have bad blood with everyone else.

Axes are the main antagonists and the "bad guys" of the series, from evbo's perspective at least.

Every bow we've seen are always the victim of circumstances in one way or another.

Guards also are a mystery, but they're always on the defensive side and seem to be more natural on the entire war topic, at least our good guard friend is.

but tridents? we know almost nothing about them, the only person we've saw is zam, and he seems to be a wild card more than anything.

Yeah he made his intentions about "Immortality" and "becoming the god of pvp civ" clear this last episode, but those are his personal interest, and it doesn't reflect the actual state or mindset of Trident civilization as a whole, or which side they are taking on this whole war matter.

Yingdu: Tired and sweating (mouth opening and closing repeats twice).

I have many thoughts about the Golden Scapegoat's mutterings and Phainon.

If the theory about Phainon being the Lord Ravager is correct, and the Golden Scapegoat's mutterings are about him, then this entry takes on a much more literal meaning.

It becomes far more straightforward the mark of property being made in the furnace corresponding to Nanook giving the mark of destruction to the chosen, their bodies being reforged in the Warforge they become Lord Ravagers and destruction becoming their destiny.

Interpreting it this way suggests that the rest of the entry should also be taken quite literally. That makes me wonder could Phainon, before becoming the Lord Ravager, literally speak to the dead? But the references to black iron and charcoal suggest a much more violent method of communicating with the dead than what you’d normally expect. I’m not sure what to make of that.

This entry also seems to associate the dead more strongly with memories, but I think this one is referring to Cyrene, because she too is heavily associated with being a sinner, so I don’t know how useful this entry could be in trying to decipher 6B.
