A Timeline of Dick Grayson's Unrelenting Trauma Era (circa 2004-2006 in comics)

So as I was coincidentally reading the Outsiders (2003) and Teen Titans (2003) runs, I became gradually aware that some of the events were overlapping timeline with the Batfamily "War Games" arc. As I had previously become aware that "War Games" overlapped both the Blockbuster + Tarantula arc (Nightwing) AND Under the Red Hood, I became shocking aware of how many new traumas were rapidly piling onto Dick Grayson in very quick succession across multiple ongoing series.

So I did a lot of reading of both specific comics that I had read--and summaries of a few that I hadn't-- to do my best to make a definitive timeline of this absurdly stressful period in Dick Grayson's life. (Most of which seems to have occurred with around 6 months or less).

(I am no expert so feel free to add/clarify anything that I may have overlooked or misinterpreted).

my current writing project is, essentially, a slowburn mlm romance. but there's a LOT else going on in the plot and, ideally, one of the guys involved in the relationship will end up dead by the end. I'm not entirely sure which just yet.

but i am SO afraid of seeming like i only killed him off because i've "fallen victim" to hays-code era bullshit tropes rather than trying to explore an experience that is, historically at least, VERY widespread in the queer community. it was almost commonplace at the peak of AIDS to lose a long-term partner to the illness, violence against queer people pretty much always has been high, experiencing hate crimes like murder and assault fairly frequently. Many of us suffer with suicidal depression and self harm.

We should be able to explore these concepts and experiences freely, without being bogged down with not seeming "tropey" or like we're somehow "demonizing" queer people by making them human.

I'm convinced it was a tragedy that tumblr learned the phrase "bury your gays" at the exact same time it decided that any fictional media darker than Landlord White was pearl-clutchingly problematic. Pouring one out for every creator of earnest LGBT+ media wanting to explore the themes of grief loss and tragedy who then got subsequently hounded by mobs of terminally online users brainrotted on nothing but conflict-free coffee shop AUs.

Brothers during an Arguement

I feel like there's 2 levels of how they'll act depending on what happened; the "I'm going to kill you" where they'll rough up each other like typical siblings, or the "I'm going to kill you" where they'll leave whichever brother offended them on death's door

We often see Mammon owing Levi either money or something else for example, that's a typical siblings quarrel, the result of which is either Mammon doing a favor for Levi, Levi choosing a punishment for Mammon, or if it gets to the point where it's disturbing everyone else in the HoL Lucifer is going to intervene and string them both up

Such other examples include: Beel eating all the food in the house, misfired prank devised by the Anti-Lucifer League, destorying/stealing a personal item, etc

Now Satan may be the avatar of wrath but when any of the brothers get truly pissed off, it's hard to tell who's the true avatar of wrath

They can get so beyond angry, so beyond pissed, their aura can and will become so fear inducing that even Mc can't help but be scared of their beloved demons if there's ever a "I'm going to kill you" type arguement

Of course one of them must have done something almost unforgivable for any of the brothers to get to that level of pure wrath, except for Satan of course, he's a ticking time bomb but he's ours :)

Lucifer: any arguement he's apart of (where he didn't have to intervene in the first place) is typically because one of his brothers didn't listen to him, a more destructive than typically Anti-Lucifer League prank is pulled, or his belongings are messed with

Mammon: ... it's Mammon, almost any arguement he's apart of is because of money to some form or another, if it doesn't involve money then the next likelihood is that he's had enough of being called a scumbag or some variation of degrading name

Levithan: the topic, most of the time, involves his otaku collection, whether he's being hindered from getting more stuff to add to the collection, it's been defaced to any capacity, or it's been sh!t talked to such an extent that Levi can't help but to defend it with all his might

Satan: everything and anything, it's Satan, though if you want to get a bit more specific the topics might typically be the brothers being loud, a Lucifer prank gone wrong, or his book was damaged

Asmodeus: he'll probably get into an arguement if one of the brothers messes with his room, his clothes, his makeup, his beauty/self care routine, his chance to get with a potential partner, stuff like that

Beelzebub: he's not one to get mad or into arguements easily but if he does it's because of something like one of the brothers ate something he had his name on, one of the brothers picking on Belphie (mainly when Belphie isn't in the mood/isn't doing okay) ... I'm going to be honest I can't think of much Beel would get into a fight about rn

Belphegor: He'll typically get into a fight because the brothers are being to loud for his liking, for some reason or another the brothers stop him from sleeping for an extended period, or he's to tired to deal with the brothers' schemes/shenanigans

OMG where have you been all this time?😭 People like you could have saved me from this series. I was introduced to the pro- fandom first and so I already had this impression on the characters. Then this Cassian walks in with his ‘I am an adorable goofball who doesn’t understand social cues but I have a heart of gold’ attitude and narrates their past. Then the Morrigan history. I WANTED TO CLAW MY EYES OUT. I was so lost, how can anyone think it’s normal? It’s not even a slow unpacking for people to build a barrier yet. I was hoping for his death at the end of WAR but that fucker survives. Then he gets worse and worse.

I honestly don’t care about the plot in these books really, a whole lot of faux women power and male ego and sword swinging which is tbf exhausting at this point. She found one formula that worked best the first time and she’s milking it. She knows her MMCs are more popular than her FMCs which is the saddest thing for a female author writing a female-centric books. But she doesn’t care, she actually is one of the groupies.

Feyre was her self-insert in TAR and her story was at the centre, not Tamlin. SJM was as neutral as a writer can be towards him. But her interests and love shifted to Rhysand and ever since the books have been about him rather than her FMCs. She retired Feyre so she can imprint on Nesta and even then, rhysand gets more attention than Feyre, who is Nesta’s sister, and it is their tumultuous relationship that apparently leads to SF.

The only comfort I have about Gwyriel is that they aren’t enemies as of now, they have childish banter and some understanding. So there wouldn’t be that heavy tension Feysand or Nessian had. So I’m hoping Gwyn won’t be traumatised for Azriel’s sad boy wallowing. But SJM won’t give up on violence and it’s concerning since both already have a terrible past.

I’d rather have Lucien happily prancing around in Spring all alone than him ending up with Elain😭 That man deserves some happiness and I KNOW how this is going to go down.

Well this took me forever to respond to, I am very sorry about that 😭

I get you with being introduced to the Pro-fandom first, I learned about ACOTAR through TikTok shortly after reading TOG, when I tell you I was *fanatic* for these series, I *loved* them. Dived right into the ACOTAR fandom, I knew the entire series plot like the back of my hand before I even read it, so there were no surprises for me when I read it. And whilst I was never 'anti Tamlin' at any point during my read, I was very pro IC for a while, then Silver Flames rolled around and I was like "Yah... fuck this." And I wrote my own fanfiction.

Preach. SJM is praised continuously for being this super #feminist author, when in reality the themes of feminism in her book are extremely shallow and dependent on what her favourite MMC of the book is doing. There is going to be no reality in which the plot of the future books in this series get better, in fact, I suspect they will get far worse. ACOTAR, especially when compared to her other series, is a money maker. Shitty work that is low effort, that follows a specific formula that she is certain works. It's nothing more.

Entirely agree with you on SJM being at the very least neutral on Feyre and Tamlin's story until she fell in love with Rhysand, then she molded Feyre into an accessory of his. It's *especially* evident with Nesta, as you mentioned, Rhysand is still a focal point in Nesta's own story, despite her not liking him and having zero reason to like him. Their relationship, and 'hugging it out' at the end of Silver Flames is *incredibly* forced, Nesta just gave up everything for him after almost dying in the Blood Rite and the only connection she had with him or the IC before the Rite was them physically punishing her and wanting her dead. It was a cheap shot at creating a relationship for Rhysand and Nesta so SJM can fawn over him.

I definitely believe Gwynriel will be the least abusive of the three bat boys relationships, but I have no hope in Gwyn remaining an independent person, with a title of her own, forging her own path and healing on her own. I will bet two dollars at the end of this entire series, Gwyn, Nesta and Elain will all have babies, and ofc, Emerie being the only POC character will be forgotten about and maybe mentioned if we're lucky being seen alongside her shining, far far far more beautiful, definitely doesn't serve, no one knows why she choose her, girlfriend Morrigan.

I can't even with Elucien. I can only pray that SJM retcons Elain's shitty, shitty personality and she's not as much of an asshole in the Elucien arc, but I highly highly doubt it.

This is how I find out an anti-nettles tag exists of Tumblr people are so shallow minded and miss the point George's original story people really think just because these dumbass show runner decided the race-bend an entire group of characters for cheap brownie points of representation that it means Nettles no longer matters like no, it may no longer be about race just because the writers are trying to force feminism onto Rhaenyra's character but it's still about class. A low born orphan at just the age of 17 was capable of doing what dozens of well trained knights failed to do. Also, she's a few of the very few characters in the books that show care and remorse, she mourned Jace someone she barely knew and cried for Driftmark despite having lived a life previously where she was mistreated and starving on the streets. I swear these Dumbnyra stans deserve their names (Dumbnyra), and just because some of us are pro-Nettles, it doesn't automatically make use of team Green, Team Green can kick rocks as well because they are such hypocrites, whining and complaining about how their fav characters were stripped of importance and reduced to a singular thing yet they turn around and strip Nettles's character as a gotcha moment towards to Dumbnyra stans, as if her relationship with Daemon is the only thing important to her character. I go in on Dumbnyra stans a lot(and that person shows exactly why), but you are right that all sides of this fandom treat Nettles like she’s trash. If it’s not saying she’s a plot device sent to ruin Dumbnyra from Team Black and that anyone Black can replace her it’s how Team Green is so worried about her being abused and how maybe it’s for the best she gets cut.

Nettles may be a secondary character, but she’s the most important secondary character during the Dance. She starts out literally homeless. She claims Sheepstealer by determination, not by blood. She’s the only one to claim a wild dragon. The only non-Valyrian dragonrider that we know of.

She gets the Rogue Prince to fall in love with her to the point where he’s willing to die for her and disobeys his wife’s orders to save her. She survives the Dance with a dragon intake. Becomes a fire witch and is worshipped by a mountain clan in the Mountains of the Moon(she’s still worshipped by them during the main series). Her legacy is cemented.

I love her relationship with Daemon, but she’s so much more than just Daemon’s love. She’s a survivor. She’s the final girl. She would be seen as special as she is if she was white.

A character like her will never not be needed especially in a world where the representation of Black women in media, particularly fantasy stories, is still pretty bleak.

Ever since I found out about Onslaught I couldn't shake off the idea of him as a more literal child of Magneto and Professor X. Where, instead of being a big-ass armored dude who's basically a force of nature from the beginning, he starts out as a baby and has to grow into his powers.

Like, how would that even work? Imagine, you are a psychic entity who is made out of all the hatred and fear and despair of two VERY powerful mutants... but you are also a child. You don't know sh&t. How would your nature affect your mental health and your perception of things around you? What kind of behavioral and mental issues can a person have if they are made out of someone else's doom and gloom? Will you start remembering your parents trauma as you grow up?

You also have two not very good dads with different opinions on how to deal with the world, who probably won't really know how to deal with you now that you exist. How do you raise someone made out of your own angst? You are also a living reminder of a VERY messed up incident on top of that.

X-Men and the Brotherhood probably know what you're made of and how you came to be, which will definitely affect the way they think of you. And you can read their minds. This will probably make things really awkward.

And then imagine if humans find out that you exist. Specifically those who hate mutants. It's the hight of the anti-mutant hysteria, your dad just turned off the fucking planet. In their eyes you are a mix of two very influential and very powerful mutants - a prime hostage material and a huge future "threat", regardless of your moral standing or the fact that you are also a fucking child.

Ultimately, I feel like baby Onslaught would be a pretty interesting Nature vs Nurture debate subject. His character would probably go to the Hell and back as he goes from one writer to another, but I kinda want to see that story and the kind of person that he could grow up into.

P. S. If it wasn't clear I'm an optimist. I don't really want "he's evil cuz he was made of evil" kinda shtick. Grey morality? Sure. But I also want to see him deal with these demons that he inherited.

The reason why he wished death on a comic book writer was because the satanically evil boogiestans were harassing & doxing his friend who had cancer. You know the old saying, 2 wrongs don't make it right. This isn't the only toxicity thing he has done & I got several evidence to show below.

What do I think about him?

He's overly smugged, to a point of being arrogant.

He has a habit of blocking anyone over the most pettiest things (I.E. Anyone using the term, Mobius, being told to calm down, people liking transgender Bridget, people liking SnapCube & Team 4 Star (he also wants them banned over it), etc.).

He constantly relies on ad-hominem attacks & vulgar insults whenever he talks to anyone he doesn't agree with, either directly or behind their backs by screenshotting their posts then posting them in his clique chamber to complain about it or both.

He's got this obnoxious Anti-WokeTuber vibes going on despite claiming to be against bigotry.

He gets easily butthurt over people enjoying any non-gaming media or anything in general of not just Sonic, but also Kirby, Castlevania, Dragon Ball, TMNT, & more as well.

He's a massive hypocrite, like for example, he hates anyone making & enjoying non-canon Sonic material while he's faving/making rule 34 fan art & fan fics involving sonic characters voring each other or any other fetishy things (which are also non-canon material).

How do you think I found out? I just googled the username, checkout their account on some furry site, & went to their profile from some controversial bunny site that's publicly shown on their profile bio out of morbid curiosity. My reaction to said content on there was disgust & uncomfortable. I hardly engage with those UCP addict types cuz they're not the most pleasant people to talk to & they're always predictable.

That being said…..I was born in Romania, and adopted to Canada where I live now! I was two when adopted and now I am almost 36, how the time flies! I had two loving parents (both are in the spirit world in other gone). I wish I could have helped the live better! As they did for me.

-I love music: i am obsessed with music not just tattoos and piercings but also music! As you probably now from my first real blog entry that I a singer, guitarist (acoustic) and a Handpan player! So music is the one thing that will keep me from going in sane and from swearing like the trailer park boys! Although it’s freaking funny tv show! I feel that a lady (though I am non-binary) Should not swear too much. It is ok in music but not in real life in case something ridiculous happens! I also like tattoos and piercings, goth sub culture and the insane clown posse! I also love a fresh snow fall as it is beautiful and the sight of the Big Dipper asterisms (in other words part of Ursa Major the constellation)! I love the Big Dipper for how beautiful, simple and delicate it looks as well as mighty!

-I also like other people opinions on stuff that may or may not matter to me! As life is a pick your own adventure and a learning curve! Also I enjoy people who don’t look “normal.” How man y serial killers look too “normal!”

-I love astronomy and stargazing as it helps me cope with my depression and that idea that life and it’s bull sh*t it too small compared to the universe! Also I love nature in general as it is the ultimate anti-depressant! I find!

-crystals, are another health pay obsession I have as I cannot walk into a hippie shop with out going to look and pay for crystals that they sell!

- the fact that people think acab ( when not all cops are bastards). I am not trying to take thought away y form people as it is valid, but not all cops are bastards they are only human! It is the politicians I find that create the problem not the cops!

I don’t know how many times I had to bring a pair of Chinese stress balls into a restaurant or what have you! And just saying that you need them at the top of your lungs = not good! Also depression and other signs of trauma are assigning to deal with and over come! If you are reading this about ptsd and trauma you know what it’s like!

Yes, I get Athena going to seek revenge. If anything season 7 really shows how Bobby's and Athena's story has intertwined. We get to see that by Bobby's trauma resurfaced again by seeing Amir Athena was also spiralling because she has trauma of losing Emmet her first love. That's why Athena was so scared of losing Bobby. We see her paying attention the his behaviour and able to confront him about it. We get to see the deep love shared by Bobby and Athena. That's what makes their story so beautiful. Two people who are meant to be after they both suffered great losses.

Though i hate to see their house burned down but it's great symbolism for next season when they build a new house together like their building a new chapter of their lives together. Hope Michael would be there to help them rebuild. I miss the shenanigans of Michael and Bobby. Bobby needs a best friend outside of 118.

But back to the finale, why didn't they make it a 2 hour finale. And yes I don't really like the daddy kink conversation right after Buck admitted that Bobby is the father he never had. It would be better if Buck said it in the hospital then Tommy follow that up when they were alone you know. And the finale could end with everyone were at Bobby's bedside and he was just opening his eyes. I love to scene where Athena was running to Bobby. It was a beautiful scene. Personally I would go crazy if they left Bobby in a coma until next season 😅. Maybe have the chief visited Bobby in a hospital declining his resignation but inform the 118 that while Bobby is healing Gerrard would take over. That would be a great cliffhanger.

Oh don't get me wrong, them leaving Bobby's life hanging in the balance for the finale would wreck my stressed mind 😂 (i was spiralling so hard for 3 weeks straight, imagine whole months? I would go insane, but at least i would look forward with much more interest than with that stinky man leading the team in such an anti-climatic reveal).

Idk I think after we get spoiled about a cliffhanger in the finale, that being it was something else (derogatory)... especially by how rushed it was.

Anyway, at least there are indeed stuff to look forward. Hopefully as someone pointed to me, this arc with Gerard might provide us a compensation with 118 realising and reflecting on how close they were of losing Bobby after it's revealed to them he did quit his job. We could get stronger reactions from

Buck: because that is his father and he almost lost him without knowing.

Chimney: who knew about the suicidal mentality Bobby had before and would connect the dots.

Eddie: because as it's pointed in interviews, Bobby is one of his rocks and would be great to see both trying to help each other considering the turmoil they're facing in their lives. I mean Bobby knows in quite literal way what is like to feel you failed your children and Eddie he was in a dark mindset not long ago and would be great to see him help Bobby again like in S5 or to Bobby help him with once again considering what Eddie is going through.

Hen: Knowing how hard she went to rescue him in the beginning of the season, defying orders and all, and how much overshadowed it is their relationship in general, where people believe they're more "besties" due her being Athena's besties, even though Bobby has been quite fatherly to her as well and she admires him, we should definitely get more about it than just a numbed reaction to him in the bed shifting to "where is Athena".

However I hope the storyline with Gerard it's not only about that ofc, because we definitely need the focus on Hen and Chimney regarding that man's behavior as they are the parts most affected by this change in the line of command considering their history with that a**ole, and i would be pissed off if the writers ignored their mindsets on that.

Also talking about Athena. I believe she spiraling due Bobby's behavior and acting recklessly was more from her reminding of May's suicidal attempt than from Emmet. I think she started to notice the signs Bobby was giving and panicked, because she knew exactly what was the road he was walking into. I think Emmet callback only hit her in the hospital since she woke up and had the impression Bobby might not wake up, what is basically the same way Emmet was gone. She only knew when he was already dead, when she couldn't do anything to prevent his death and was only left to pick the pieces of a painful enigma that was to find the culprit, because this was the only thing she could do for Emmet. So yeah I think in terms of emotional work we actually got quite great Athena work regarding how she faced the possibility of losing Bobby, because she was going through it, even if it was mixed up with a very questionable behavior (although i expected it because she has been like this since S1) Ending this with happier thoughts! I can't wait for bathena house hunting shenanigans, the domesticity of it all, more May and Harry, maybe they even bring Charlie for the picture (although they could have done this in this season to bridge Bobby's childhood flashback in a stronger meaningful way than the desert) but mostly important, I hope a better insight in how are they doing after their argument, in how they are dealing with the dark mindset Bobby just went through, because almost dying twice in a spam of 2 months is not a proper or recommended way of solving communication problems 😂
