If you’re anti-police you also have to be anti-police for even the people you dislike. I’ve seen some people that claim to be anti-police cheer when a cop attacks or arrests someone they dislike. Even if a cop is attacked by another cop. There are no exceptions. You’re either truly anti-police and make no exceptions or you have cognitive dissonance.

Long live the Amsterdam taxi drivers (mostly morrocan and turkish background) who came out tonight and drove around the empty industrial estate, where we were dumped by the cops, to give free rides to the hundreds of scattered Palestine protesters!
The protesters were detained en masse at the banned pro-Palestine demonstration on the Dam, and were dropped off in the middle of nowhere by the Amsterdam riot police to be chased and beaten, away from the media.
More and and more taxis kept showing up, sometimes flying Palestinian flags, to big cheers and applause from the protesters each time. They were praising us as they drove up but they were the real heroes of today and this whole week. Remember these taxi drivers started handing out the beatings to the far-right zionist Maccabi Tel Aviv hooligans about a week ago. They really restored our hope after the fascist gaslighting spectacle being played out by the entire Dutch political and media class this past week.

Rosalie Tialavea, Leafa's oldest sister, recounted how the police entered the apartment with their guns drawn, without asking any questions about Leafa's age or who lived there, despite Leafa's mother being present and several minors, including infants, being in the home.
"They told us to get in the room and get out of their way," Tialavea recalled. "I asked them if I could talk to my youngest because we all know how she is, and how she is not a social person. I asked them and they said no."
Tialavea described Leafa as an "overthinker" who sometimes had emotional breakdowns. On the night of the incident, she was sitting on the balcony with a blanket over her head. The family believed they could talk her out of holding the knife and tried to intervene, but the police insisted they stay out of the way.
According to the family, Leafa's English was not very strong, and when the police ordered her to drop the knife she was holding downward by her side, they said it didn't take much for the officers to shoot.
"She made one movement, a little tiny movement," Tialavea said. "They shot her three times... They saw her go down on the second shot and they had to fire another one."

Easter Leafa was a 16 year old girl who was supposed to start the school year before the police took that from her.

"Dozens of counter-protestors, many wearing white masks and flags over their shoulders, arrived around 10:45 p.m. and attempted to dismantle the pro-Palestinian encampment that has overtaken Royce Quad since last Thursday. The agitators lobbed fireworks at the encampment and set off what may have been bear or pepper spray.
Demonstrators on the pro-Palestinian side used umbrellas to shield themselves, and skirmishes broke throughout the night out as counter-protesters attempted to wrestle away wood pallets, plywood and metal fencing from the encampment."
"New York City Mayor Eric Adams said on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” on Wednesday morning that police had to move in to Columbia University’s Hamilton Hall “for the safety of those children.”
He blamed outside agitators for the building takeover and said “There are people who are harmful and they’re trying to radicalize our children and we cannot ignore this.”"

After serving 44 years for a rape and burglary he did not commit, 68-year-old Ronnie Long reached a settlement with the state of North Carolina for $25 million - the second largest wrongful conviction settlement in U.S. history. Long was initially given only an insulting $750K in compensation. But after filing a civil lawsuit, he was awarded an additional $25 million along with a formal apology.   In 1976, Long was only 21 years old when an all-white jury that was “hand-picked by local law enforcement” convicted him of raping a “prominent” 54-year-old White woman in Concord, NC. He was given two life sentences. An appeals court finally overturned his conviction in 2020, citing jury tampering by the police chief and false testimonies from detectives. Prosecutors also deliberately suppressed evidence that could have proven his innocence, including: a rape kit that collected 43 different fingerprints and a suspect’s hair that did not match Long’s. Semen samples also “disappeared” from evidence.   After his release, Long was eager to spend time with his family, including wife Ashleigh, who he married from prison in 2014. Sadly, both of Long’s parents died before seeing him freed and exonerated from this American nightmare. His mother passed just 30 days before his release. He told CBS News, “I know my mother and father died with a broken heart...I’m gonna tell them now, when I visit the gravesite, ‘Your son is clear.’”

Content warning for police violence, anti-indigenous racism, ableist language, and sexual violence.
RCMP officers referred to First Nations pipeline opponents as "orcs" and "ogre" during a police raid at a blockade of Coastal GasLink pipeline construction in November 2021, according to audio recordings played in court Wednesday. The recordings were played as evidence in B.C. Supreme Court in Smithers in an abuse of process application filed by Sleydo', also known as Molly Wickham, a Wing Chief of Cas Yikh, a house group of the Gidimt'en Clan of the Wet'suwet'en Nation; Shaylynn Sampson, a Gitxsan woman with Wet'suwet'en family ties and Corey Jocko, who is Kanien'kehá:ka (Mohawk) from Akwesasne, which straddles the Quebec, Ontario and New York state borders.  The accused were found guilty last week of criminal contempt of court for breaking a 2019 injunction that impedes anyone from blocking work on the Coastal GasLink pipeline.  The abuse of process application alleges RCMP used excessive force when they were arrested and that they were treated unfairly while in custody. The filing asks that if the judge doesn't stay their charges, then it would be appropriate to reduce their sentences based on their treatment by police.

Just learned that Raymond Gureme's family was targeted by French policemen in a racist attack two weeks ago.
For context, Raymond Gureme was a survivor of the Romani genocide. He was detained in several Romani internment camps in France starting from the age of 15yo with his family, escaped twice, was deported to a labor camp in Germany, escaped again and joined the French resistance at the mere age of 17yo. He was a very active member of the Resistance, killing Nazis and marching alongside De Gaulle on the day Paris was liberated.
Like most survivors of the Romani genocide and many Romani resistance fighters, Raymond never received any medals of honour for his involvement with the resistance. He and his family never received any form of financial compensation nor was it ever acknowledged that they had been targeted for genocide. 10 years ago, Raymond, in his 80s, was beaten up by French policemen in his own trailer for no other reason than his being Romani.
Two weeks ago his family was held at gunpoint by French policemen who broke into their trailers, destroyed valuables and property and called in several police cars and police helicopters to arrest one single person. This level of violence was completely uncalled for and is clearly an act of intimidation on the part of French cops.
Raymond Gureme is the most emblematic figure of the Romani resistance during World War II and one of the most important figures of the Romani rights movement in postwar western Europe. His family is passing around a petition to meet the region's prefect and ask for justice

Libs are like, "YOU CAN'T LET TRUMP WIN JUST BECAUSE BIDEN IS COMMITTING A GENOCIDE! THIS IS NOT THE TIME FOR SINGLE-ISSUE VOTERS", when the fact is that people are already really fucking angry at him for funding two wars during a severe cost of living crisis. Biden's pet dog has already gotten Israel and the US embroiled in a steadily escalating conflict with Houthis and Hezbollah in Syria and Lebanon, and now Netanyahu is trying to ethnically cleanse two million Gazans by pushing them out of the country into Egypt, one of the countries the US gives billions of aid money to make nice with Israel and help them trap the Palestinians. Egypt is already mad about this (although Idk what they expected lol) and if Israel creates a border conflict with them, Iran might press their advantage and then the whole region descend into an all-out war in which the US is embroiled. At which point oil prices will jump, the US economy get even worse, more tax money funnelled into TWO wars, one of which is due to the genocide.
People might not care about Muslims living thousands of miles away, but they have some very strong opinions about putting food on the table. At this point there's a pretty significant shift in the Black community towards Trump because Biden has INCREASED funding for police, is supporting Cop City that someone DIED protesting, and hasn't made a dent in mass incarceration (the marijuana pardon was fucking hilarious in a depraved way). The right has also been weaponizing Black people's resentment against Latino "illegal aliens" and Biden's "concessions" towards them, when actually his immigration policies have barely been less draconian than Trump's all this time. The reason he's making those concessions is that he has to look more progressive than him, except he's also been slowly escalating ICE crackdowns, keeping kids in cages and building a border wall. So the Latin voters are entirely fed up with him too.
So far, he's lost the Muslim vote, the Latin vote, the Black vote, the youth vote (people of ages 18 to 35 are the most outraged at the genocide in Gaza), and they're hemorrhaging the working class votes. These are the extremely angry and betrayed people the liberals are currently working overtime screaming at about Trump "bringing the death of democracy", like democracy means anything to them compared to losing jobs, money, visas, family members, health (Biden's first and ongoing genocide is disabled people due to his COVID policies), social infrastructure and money.
Y'all said Blue Not Matter Who and elected a career racist and known incompetent who supported segregation, was an architect of mass incarceration, got Clarence Thomas elected to the Supreme Court and spewed rhetoric against Arabs so genocidal that motherfucking Menachem Begin was like "....bro." And you got exactly what you paid for. If Trump gets on the ticket next year he's going to win, and no amount of screaming at people online is going to change that. So I suggest you start organising now. The age of trying to create a revolution at the ballot box is over.
