YES! THIS! I'm the same as the poster,(I do not forgive doug's stalking, but that's not the main point right now) I love Uma but: There's ABSOLUTELY NO PROOF that Uma would have reversed her love spell on Ben! At least with Mal, we have CANONICAL proof that she was willing to release Ben from the first spel! Uma has NO SUCH thing. In fact, if she DIDN'T want to get sent back to the Isle, she would have HAD to keep him loved spelled. Becuse the minute she takes it off, Ben would be asking, "What are you doing here? Where's Mal?" Furthermore, I'm convinced that if it wasn't for the fact that the writers knew that a third love spell would have viewers throwing their TV's audrey would have cast a love spell on Ben and certainly not taken it off. So Mal is the only one who expressed any remorse or desire to make her love spell wrong, right! And YES! People PANDER to audrey saying that "It wasn't her fault! She did nothing wrong!" When SHE'S GOT THE LONGEST RAP SHEET OF ANYONE ON SCREEN! She committed LITERALLY ILLEGAL CRIMES, and her fans still insist that she did 'nothing wrong!'
Most of them have done bad things
You know. People go on an on and on about how Uma and Audrey did nothing wrong. But if you wanna be overly specific the only ones who did nothing wrong on screen we’re:
Dizzy
The twins.
And possibly Ben.
All the vks are probably guilty of petty theft at least. Chad’s trespassed in jay and Carlos’s room. Doug stalked Evie all of one (1) time*. And “oh so innocent” Audrey’s got grand larceny, attempted forced imprisonment, attempted multiple murder, kidnapping, attempted blackmail, forced transmogrification and child endangerment under her gaudy old belt. Jane released Maleficent for Christ sakes. Uma nearly killed the king. Twice. On purpose.
But no. Let’s say Uma and the bitch did nothing wrong because we can’t stand grey female characters. I’m still pissed they sweep the second love potion under the rug when there’s no evidence anywhere to suggest that Uma would ever have reversed it. Cause she had no feelings for Ben. And all Audrey felt for Ben was entitlement and possession. But by all means. Please go on about how Mal never cared and Uma is secretly the love of Ben’s life and how Audrey deserved better. Like I love Uma but there is no way in hell or on earth that she is perfect. I’m not sorry. Because it’s true.
* Unless you count standing up for yourself when you feel like you’re being mistreated by your girlfriend as a “bad thing”. Which for some reason many fans do. Mostly the malvie cult though. But that’s an entirely different post.

the way some bucktommy's are reacting now that they've realized tommy might be gone soon is so funny to watch
they are actually, genuinely angry that "tommy was just being used"
like yes, of course he was; that's what a plot device is
and I've been saying this the whole time, but they really do live in a different reality
while we've been here watching a character we've loved for the past six years finally get a much-awaited queer arc, they came in and latched onto a character who has appeared in less than 10 episodes (out of a 106 episode run, mind you)
and I'm not saying they can't have their headcanons (most of which are just traits/plot points taken directly from eddie's character or things they had to pay lfj to pull out of his ass), but they really shouldn't be surprised when the story continues to progress in the same direction it was always going to
like, believe what you will, but at the end of the day the material in the show itself doesn't build him up to be anything other than a plot device to move the story forward
in the simplest terms possible, buck and eddie are the main characters, and tommy will be here just long enough to fulfill his purpose in their story

Ranking FOP Characters based off of the hats they wear.
Tumblr media
9 hats in the picture is always better than seeing 1 singular hat.
Note that this will only include characters that consistently wear a hat as part of their design. If one-off instances were included this would go on forever.
1. Doug Dimmadome.
Tumblr media
Instant 10/10 by default because of the running gag about how tall his hat is. Nothing can top this. It's the most memorable thing about him, this is the best hat.
2.Timmy Turner
Tumblr media
Iconic. His pink hat is a stand-out feature of his outside of the buck teeth. What would he be without his hat. 10/10. Where are the adult Timmy designs with hats.
3. Head Pixie (+pixies in general)
Tumblr media
I can applaud them as an species for all wearing hats even though Cosmo said they have terrible taste. HP gets extra points for having the bigger hat and a little star tip on it. Not to mention he can use it as a pen.
Tumblr media
8/10 because a little difference in grey wouldn't hurt. If I took other magical species that all wore hats into account than the Pixies would be lower than Leprechauns but higher than Elves.
4. Anti Cosmo
Tumblr media
Obvious favorite character bias aside, he would've ranked somewhat near the top even if I included a billion background characters with hats or instances where a major character wore a specific hat one time.
Wearing a hat to show high status? Amazing. All fairies and antifairies have a crown to begin with, so it's not like wearing a bigger crown would exactly work. Does AC even have a crown? Who knows.
8/10. The hat deserved to be a more striking shade of blue. And it could be a little bigger.
5. Chip Skylark
Tumblr media
It's nice and all but a different style of hat could have also worked and that's why I think he should wear more hats instead of just that one. Give him a thousand hats, I want him to have even more style. 7/10. I'm sorry Chip.
6. Big Daddy
Tumblr media
A crown AND a hat? 2/10. If I wasn't limited to 6 characters here he'd be all the way at the bottom at some lower number. It's either a hat or a crown, not both. He should've just stuck with the hat. I like the color and the size. He has that going for him.

i apologize.
so. despite my best efforts my Descendants brainrot has returned. i sincerely apologize for the person i will become. if you don’t want me interacting with your stuff just block me, i promise i won’t be offended. i know i can be incredibly annoying about this stuff.
anyways! here are my main Descendants takes:
Mal is a horrible person and one of the most terribly written protagonists i’ve ever seen.
Ben deserved better. Evie deserved better. Audrey deserved better. Uma deserved better. Carlos and Jay deserved better. Pretty much every character except Mal deserved better.
Even if I did like Mal, I’d still want to see other characters given more screen time.
The premise of Descendants is very fucked up and one of my favorite parts about interacting with the fandom is exploring the ways in which te world of Descendants is inherently traumatizing.
I am a multishipper. Honestly the only ships I hate are the ones with Mal in them because I don’t want her toxic ass near any of my babies.
I didn’t watch Descendants 4 and I don’t intend to any time soon, so I don’t feel that I’m in a position to speak on it. However, in terms of fandom discourse around it, here are my thoughts: Respect queer headcanons just as you would any other, even if you don’t agree with them. Glasshearts is cute. Leave the actresses alone. Brandy and Paolo ATE. I would die for them. From what little we’ve seen of Red, she’s already a better protagonist than Mal ever was.
Please learn to separate actors from their characters.
anything with the tag #0 writes is my original post.

I always have thought she is like Nostalgia Critic with incest fetish.
Eh, personally, I don't see that as exactly fair. Like, I get what you mean, and maybe I just have a bit of a soft spot for Doug, but.
I see Doug's failings as more a matter of incompetence than active malice personally. Unfortunately, I am nostalgic for the Nostagia Critic, having grown up watching him.
Yes his media hottakes are not good. Yes, the people who take issue with the unfortunate business decisions he made have the people involved every right to be angry with him. But I personally adore and embrace Doug cringe and all. I make fun of him out of love, where I make fun of Lily out of disdain. I respect and understand everyone who feels differently, but that's where I am at emotionally with it. I don't think Doug meant any harm, even if some of his actions did result in very real harm to some.
If I saw him at a con I'd tell him how much I still kinda love him. Respect what he's done even though it's . . . You know. Very Doug Walker.
He's still that tiny bit, you know, my babby grill. You feel me? Maybe not. I know the whole Channel Awesome thing is very dependent on the age bracket you're in.
If I wanted not for money I'd totally use those funds to buy Channel Awesome from Mike Michaud the fucking fuckface himself so Doug could continue being the cringelord he is without all that fucking toxic baggage. Provided he uphold less toxic business practices.
I'm with Lady Emily in that he shows . . . A degree of some kind of Tommy Wiseau kind of artistic integrity I think is a bit sister slay if you know what I mean.
I cringe, but in a "my dearest beloved" kind of way. I hope that makes sense. I love my camp queen Doug Walker.

So I just recently watched this confused little movie in full again.
And I have to say, shocker of shockers, Doug Walker got it wrong yet again. Aside from his typical lack of research on the development of this film (I don't think the "one character from each animated canon movie" project that was concieved for the potential 50th film back in the 2000s had anything to do with this and its correlation with the 100th year, as this was a project concieved in 2018, when it wasn't certain that it would be rolled out in 2023 five years later) and his typical hypocrisy of not giving it the "it's fine" pass that he gave the similarly middling quality Super Mario Bros Movie, his venomous lambasting of the film as being the worst Disney film because it's "nothing", thus capping off 100 years of history and creations with "nothing", is just dead wrong. If anything, the problem with Wish is exactly the opposite: it's got more than one "something" going on for it and gets perpetually tugged at and torn in all those directions.
The movie clearly began as merely a way to tell an all-new Disney original fairy tale that ties back to the old "When You WIsh Upon A Star" theme, but the 2023 deadline turned that into a celebratory milestone feature alongside the animation studio's own supplemental celebratory feature for that same milestone, Once Upon A Studio. But then the big corporate side of the Walt Disney Company, the side of Bob Chapek and Bob Iger, put its heel down on the production and tampered with the shape the film was taking in order to ensure it checked off every possible box of some arbritary Disney Formula checklist and include all the homages, references and cameos they wanted in it so that it could serve as the corporate celebration of Disney too.
But this isn't the only identity crisis it got hit with, for Wish presents itself as clearly a kiddie-oriented flick, trying to be something that whole families can watch together and enjoy well enough on the most basic, casual level, but particularly geared towards the little ones in the audience, to be for them what the Disney animated fairy tales of old were for Disney fans who are old timers today: the throwback is all too calculated and deliberate. And yet it tries to do this on the back of a premise that is rife with complex ideas, spiritual subtext, vague and sometimes contradictory rules that dictate the worldbuilding, and heavy themes like a self-made monarchy that has corroded the society of its citizenry into a cult following that puts all faith and trust in the royals to manage the most important parts of their lives and very selves for them not realizing or caring that they're being befrauded and restrained from the pursuit of self actualization and the realization of their own visions, how placing too much trust in one solitary other person with power over something that is your inalienable right not to be marked as anyone else's possession in the blind hope of a magic solution to all the obstacles in your life is unwise and unfulfilling when you could instead try to realize your heart's deepest desires yourself through your own utilization of other means, and when even the best intentions of a civilization's leadership gives way to oppressive, harmful practices, betrayal of committed responsibilities, and destructive corruption that seeks gratification and elevation of the self through the subjugation and dissipirtment of others. This is unfortunately on brand for Jennifer Lee and Chris Buck, who similarly set up themes and ideas and even ethical dilemmas with potential dramatic weight in Frozen II only to have the film get cold feet (ha ha) and not go all the way with them because being a markettable Disney fairy tale for kids took priority.
And then lastly you get the whiplash duality that I as a viewer has to experience, where my mind is always wandering to what I wish (HA HA) this movie had been but also trying not to veer too off track from engaging with what the movie actually is, with the most bothersome part being that while I can get some decent, wholesome, all around solid entertainment from the movie as is (King Magnifico's scenes are always the most captivating and show-stealing parts), it also keeps showing me so many areas where even this finished product could have been significantly improved, which is especially true of the film's erractic pacing. The story slowing down a bit and allowing some of its scenes the breathing room they needed to really get the most out of them so that they sit better with the audience would've done wonders for the viewing experience. Expand more on backstories and axe the go-nowhere bits, have Asha be a ball of anxiety who’s not accustomed to having to extrovert so much, make Gabo less of a douche, make King Magnifico more of a douche, make Queen Amaya more morally gray and give her character arc the details to make it sensible and convincing, do similarly with Dahlia, give Star more clear communication bits, give Valentino much less to say, etc. That way even without the darker edges, the evil power couple, the Star Boy and semi-romance, the film is still a strong enough version of what it needed to be for a young audience.
Wish is ultimately an alright Disney film, definitely not the worst they’ve done, it’s passable entertainment. But I’m sure the creative team that worked on it is on the same boat as much of its audience: wishing for much more than this, ‘cause how much more this tale could’ve been is apparent in all the lanes it touched yet did not pick.

Ontario Minister for Citizenship and Multiculturalism and MPP for York - South Weston Michael Ford was called upon Wednesday to rescind a comment made about Toronto youth that some have called “disturbing, offensive, and racist.”
On Wednesday, NDP leader Marit Stiles took to social media to ask Ford, nephew of Ontario Premier Doug Ford, to rescind a recent comment made in a newsletter issued by his office.
The newsletter appears to be marketing Toronto community group Frontlines, a youth charity that offers support programs, mental health support, warm meals, and assistance with homework.
The text on the printout, allegedly written by Ford, reads, “organizations such as Frontlines are crucial to York-South Weston.”
“They have fantastic programs for Youth that will assist them in the future to integrate into society,” it continues, alongside a photo of what appears to be Ford greeting a young Black person. [...]
