the season begins with celebrimbor watching over halbrand from his tower, with a clear distant between them as he did not trust him. even as he invites him as a guest, he continue to loom over him until sauron reveal himself to be annatar. only then the power between them shift. annatar now stands before celebrimbor, overshadows him in every aspect. observing his actions with great detail, like an ever watchful eye.

in "doomed to die", sauron lower himself by sitting before celebrimbor and facing him as an equal as he desperately cling to the connection he holds. he wanted to be seen. it was an invitation but celebrimbor deny him.

in "shadow and flame", the final confrontation ends with celebrimbor rising above sauron. he's taking the power that was taken by him, for his defiance towards the maia. in death he wins.

i'm ngl, i'm a bit apprehensive about the newest book 'cause imo geralt really works best when he has other characters to bounce off of. (like, sos was a struggle for me to get through, negl, and at least for me, that book's real saving grace was dandelion and his pov.) so a book set in geralt's absolute earliest years on the path which de facto eliminates the possibility of geralt interacting with most of the side characters as they either simply wouldn't be alive or, if they are, geralt wouldn't've met them yet? yeah…
