Sometimes I'm sad that Victorious got canceled so early, but the more I think about it, it was probably a blessing in disguise. The writing quality was starting to dip around the end, and iCarly suffered a huuuge quality drop the longer it went on. Forever I've proclaimed that iCarly is the better show, and that it was my favorite. But honestly, iCarly is really only good for the first 3 seasons. There's a ton of later episodes I've probably never seen to this day because I stopped paying attention to it. Victorious was mostly strong till the little trip and fall at the end. So while iCarly's first 3 seasons are really strong, I'd say Victorious is over all the better show.

Also I can rewatch Victorious as an adult and enjoy it. iCarly is tough to rewatch for...numerous reasons. So I guess it'd be fair to say it holds up the better of the two

So, welcome to yet another insane post. Long story short, I’m wondering if Brenner’s schmeat got butchered.

So, this all started out when I was sitting here thinking about James’ Mothergate post (and I’ve got some posts here about mothergate & one in particular about Mothergate and The Fly that connects to this current post) and wondering why Vecna has all of these times that he appears as women & all of this mother coding, but that same feminine coding isn’t present for Henry/Edward as a child or in the lab.

And then, I was sitting here thinking about the idea of Brenner trying to combine himself with Henward in order to try and get regen healing (which you can see posts such as this post, this post, this post, and this post) and Vecna being the result of that, and then it hit me:

Is Brenner the reason why that “female” imagery is present for Vecna but not for Henward pre-Vecna?

And when I brought this up to James, he mentioned the 3 legged Papa drawing vs the 2 legged Papa drawing- which, if Brenner had lost a “leg”, makes sense- however, the 2 legged drawing is technically from 1979 and is therefore before the 3 legged drawing, but the 3 legged drawing is shown to the audience first in the show. So either way, there’s Something here.

And speaking of legs, we also have all of the Jaws references in ST, and specifically, the Demogorgon being compared to a shark:

And what does this have to do with legs? Well, Jaws was inspired by Moby Dick- Moby Dick, where Captain Ahab’s leg was bitten off by a whale/Jaws being inspired by that with sharks.

Versus Brenner’s dick being presented as a third “leg,” in the drawing, and it possibly having been bitten off by the Demogorgon, which, again, is compared to a shark.

And I talked here about how the Brenner that we see in S1 is very very likely Richard Brenner, not Martin Brenner- Richard, whose name is literally short for “Dick.”

Brenner also seems to really overcompensate when it comes to masculinity.

Long story short, I didn't have any friends in my childhood and usually I was bullied physically and mentally at elementary school so yeee- That is why I spend 50% of the time in my home looking non stop at the TV screen and watching whatever i found (rest of the time i was playing with my littlest pet shops and monster high dolls making cults, apocalypse, and cities. In my kindergarten era my favorite cartoons was mainly on one channel BBC for kids. It was my gold, everything i needed after long day in kindergarten where children were beating shit out of me. The same with ICarly (fuck Dan Schneider, fuck paramount and nick that was hiding him and other p3does for years, they are acting like disney but worse) BUT there were also sitcoms for boys, and if you know me I LOVE MEDIA FOR TEEN BOYS. After Hannah Montana stopped showing up, I really felt in love in I’m in the Band, Zeke and Luther, Kickin’ It, ESPACIALLY Crash & Bernstein, because it was mupped show but cooler for me at the time XD

My first ever episode of lego ninjago was the episode where 1ep of 3 season, and it got me so hard XDD and at the time I cried me when I was 10 I cried like little baby when Zane died and was this show-don't-tell ending with Pixal. It was everything I needed... and it made me nerd also XDDD At the time i start to watching Teletoon+ like crazy!!! I watched MLP there and LPS too! And I'm so pissed of on myself, because TFP was shown there to but I didin't want to watched, because since i was youngling I hated Bayverse and was scared of their faces, so fuck you Micheal Bay, I almost missed the best TF show ever because of you :))

But also worth to talk about is The Amazing world of Gumball, oh boy I love it the same as Lego Ninjago and Nexo Knights!!! It was spiderman universum for me, when i was young, I watched since it premiered to the very end and even as a young teen I appreciated the animation and creativity that Gumball was showing us. Since today I think that animation and ideas are just pure genius and I can not even tell one thing bad about it like about Total Drama (1-3 season lives rent free in my head still, that is why I'm danganronpa fan) XDD

And now we are getting to second most necessary canon even in my life. The March 16th of 2015 first episode of polish Transformers robots in disguise was showed and it was fun for me! Fun enough that I recommended it to my friend that I created this au with, and she told me that it was cool too! And then years has passed and in 2022 she rewatched because she was bored and discovered Transformers Prime, she was so amazed of it that she begged me for MOUNTH to watch it! And guess how she convinced me to watch it??? XD she showed me that one ep that Starscream was running with KO, because zombie Silas was hunting them XDD (I'm spoiler proof, so I wasn't angry that she showed me ep from 3 season). In the spirit of obscure animated TV shows, though - and It's been so damn long I forgot the names of some characters, had to look up the guy's name, lol - Zero and Vin from The Invisible Network of Kids. It left a profound impact on my psyche because they did something really fucked up in the last episode, plus left us on a cliffhanger, and then the show got cancelled </3 rip. Plus Li becomes the shadow broker and it's a whole thing, so that doesn't really work out narratively for me anyway. Can't romance Miranda. Can't romance Tali (wouldn't anyway - Tali/Garrus <3). Refuse to romance Garrus that is just so platonic a dynamic it's not even funny. Jacob cheats and dips, so fuck him. Like... all of the fem!shep romances are terrible (or Trainor, I guess, but she's... kind of. Nobody. She's Just There. Sorry. It's not narratively interesting enough for me.) and Joker was right there and augh. Augh! Still ship. Still mad about it. Hatboy Project is doing the lord's work! Honestly I'd probably get way more into actually writing Fanfiction if all my ideas weren't just really weird shared-universe crossover stuff. Okay, backstory - When I was like 9 or something I asked my brother why Shadow the Hedgehog didn't ever smile. We ended up going back and forth and suddenly we're making up an entire alternate universe where Sonic and Shadow team up to defeat Freddy from iCarly's mom because she turned evil. We were 9, cut us some slack. We always used to make continuations to that story and universe with wild crackships and everything. Like Sonic ended up with Jill Valentine at one point, it was weird. We stopped talking about it after a few years but those chats left a massive impact on me because I've had that shit continuing on in my head for Y E A R S. Like since I started just making things go along in my head;

The events of Sonic Unleashed happen but the Werehog is his own seperate person outside of Sonic but he's super chill and stuff.

Sonic turned bad and got taken out by Cassie Cage. Y'know, from Mortal Kombat because I was OBSESSED with MKX when it came out. Kung Jin was my main and he's still like the major side character if that's even a thing. Like that only happened because I was desperately trying to not seem cringe to the audience of 1 who knew this was even a thing (it was me)

Fox McCloud and Wolf O'Donnell get married and move to London so there's an entire London Arc where fuckall happens.

The events of the Mass Effect trilogy happen because the planet being split into pieces wasn't bad enough now the fucking REAPERS are here.

The cast from the end of the first year and the cast from like 2017 end up fighting, causing the timeline to be reset with Cassie and Sonic ending in a stalemate as the universe fucking starts again.

Shepard exists, got the perfect Destroy ending and is genuinely just trying to wind down after the whole 'saving the galaxy thing' but now she's working alongisde Akihiko, Aigis, Mitsuru and Fuuka with the project both because she can fight but also its good PR. Team Dark is also there because why not.

Cassie is not only still important to the universe but is Shepard's successor because hey, she beat the shit out of Shinnok one time, she has to be good.

Kung Jin is now a Persona-User because he shares a VA with Yu Narukami.

They, along with Garrus, Wolf, Fox and Rocket Raccoon (The GOAT) defeat a resurrected Andross in London.

Somehow, Black Doom returned. He gets taken down by Shadow (again).

Bowser and Goro Akechi are besties because they met at Jazz Jin (The Jazz bar from P5R) and Bowser happened to be doing a performance that night.

The Mario Movie is technically canon but because the ending was happening the same time the rest of New York was under attack its just considered a weird part of the larger battle.

Zoey 102: Thoughts

I went into the Zoey 102 movie largely skeptical because the recent trend of tween show reboots has been... not great. Not bad, just mediocre. And yes, I am looking at you, iCarly. I think I'm probably going to be kind of unique in that Zoey 101 really was my show. Nothing to do with the cast or actors themselves, as I didn't care about that kind of stuff at a young age, but of the many Nick properties, Zoey always stayed my favorite, while I know that a lot of other people don't have as many fond memories of it as, say, iCarly or Victorious.

But honestly? This movie was above average. Did it reinvent the wheel? No. Was it tropey? Yeah. Was it a lot of what I expected the premise to be- Zoey and Chase are broken up but find their way back to each other with everyone else as sort of supporting characters? Yeah, it was that. But something that I think is really lacking in these reboots is usually a combination of acting chemistry and script itself. So, even if the plot comes in weak, which let's face it, a lot of these reboots are wont to do, Zoey pulled off the mild miracle of these characters seeming... real? The dialogue wasn't insanely stilted and cheesy. The chemistry between everyone was believable. Even the jokes landed! Todd, the fake boyfriend, I actually found hilarious. PCA closing down and being a money scheme followed by Stacey's "I have so much student debt" was actually funny. Chase and Todd had a homoerotic duet.

I genuinely think there are only three real gripes I have with this movie (for what it is): 1. Too Much plot 2. Zoey & Chase 3. Underutilized characters

Too Much Plot: The movie just tried to do a little too much with both Zoey working in production on a reality dating show and the fake dating plot, leaving both stories understewed. I loved Todd as a character and think the plot would've been benefited by only picking the fake boyfriend plot. While conceptually I love the idea of Zoey working on a Love Island ripoff, it just doesn't do much for the plot, which is meant to be both a nostalgia trip and romcom. Which brings us into...

Zoey and Chase: I don't think much build-up of the relationship is needed but the conflict and resolution within the movie was subpar; in the car scene, Zoey really just says "Whoops got cold feet" and Chase falls back into the torch he has for her. I don't need a masterpiece, but with the conflict setup (Zoey seriously hurting Chase right after they got together and Chase then ghosting her for literally over a decade for a mistake she made at 18), there needed to be better resolution.

You know, I wrote underutilized characters, I really think I just mean underutilized Michael. I loved Quinn and Logan's subplot that Logan does his richboy thing and wants a big wedding but Quinn feels out of place. Despite being minor characters, Mark and Stacey's murder podcast is cool and funny throughout (and again, could've been pulled off without the reality tv subplot) and their dynamic is really fun with Mark being a complete pushover and Stacey being overbearing, a lot like how Mark and Quinn were when they dated in Zoey 101. So yeah, I just mean Michael. He was there, he lost his voice and really didn't have much of note to do. It's not far off from the main show itself where they just never have much to do with Michael and that's pretty sad. Other than him, the PCA kids got as much screen time as I expected, which is to say, less than Zoey.

Other than those things, I really didn't have any problems with this movie. The jokes landed for me. I didn't mind how tropey it was. I thought it was honestly, a fun romp. Would I recommend it if you don't have Zoey nostalgia? Of course not! But this was far more digestible to me than any episode of the iCarly reboot. I'm kind of shocked to see it getting review bombed and I feel like it has more to do with the cast (*cough* Jamie Lynn *cough*) than the actual end product because... this movie wasn't bad? It was way better than I thought it was gonna be.

Dream tickles #3!

I was sitting on my couch and, all of a sudden, I was asked by a person that resembled Jeannette McCurdy (I have literally no idea why, like I hadn’t thought of that person in forever since I last watched iCarly) and was nothing like the character on the show which was weird.

Anyways the character was really sweet and asked to tickle me to which I obviously said yes to and shimmied my way over to her, back facing her.

The next thing I knew, she had her fingers lightly scratching along my exposed back, putting me in total euphoria. It wasn’t unbearably ticklish, just a warm and soothing sensation that encompassed my entire back.

She even asked if it was too much for me (like awww 🥰). I said I was fine and asked her to keep going. Aaaaand, that was the end of the dream.

One of the happiest dreams that I can remember 10/10 would dream again if I could 😭
