Honestly tho Solar is the best at it (he was able to start up a conversation with Moon easier than Moon could with him) and I imagine he's the one who orders at restaurants

And Moon hates both of Solar's boyfriends and Moon and Solar are friends and I think that's just kind of funny. Like Moon likes Solar so he doesn't stop being friends with him even though he's dating the two, but he's bitter about it (though honestly if Nexus had a redemption arc and it was proved he had a virus, I feel like Moon would hate him a little less. But he'd probaly still be insecure about Nexus probaly taking his place and everyone not really liking Moon again so he'd probaly still be an ass to him.)

I love the character Zach tho, he is so fuckng cute but I feel like the art direction and the overall aesthetic and the chemistry was not up to the mark. I was expecting more like"to all the boys i loved before" level cuteness but nope it was...ok ig. Compared to that, fiona and drew seem so intense on obx like the banter and the sexual tension is very palpable between sofia and rafe. even in scenes like the one second WHERE SOF PUTS HER HEAD ON RAFES SHOULDER like I felt that chemistry was chemistryfying.

Look I'm not one of those people who believe Kishimoto decided to have Hinata and Naruto end up in the middle part of Shippuden. I believe he decided in the very last arc but he wanted to sound smart so he said he decided earlier on. Otherwise, they obviously would have more scene together. In Shippuden, they have only three scenes together ; when Naruto came back, the pain attack and the neji death scene. That's it. In the original Naruto, they probably have less than ten canon scenes not including fillers.

So I'm sorry I'm one of those who wasn't convinced by The Last. They literally had a basic villain go after Hinata who was cringe btw (the villain). They gave Hinata op powers which she doesn't have in the novel 👀. Despite having op powers, they made her the damsel in distress. Very "The hero saves the princess" cliche. Again, to justify them being together. I mean Naruto can't differentiate his love for ramen and romantic love so how??? He was just being nice to Hinata just like he does to everyone. He stood up for her just like he does for everyone.

Don't get me started on the Sakura Sasuke relationship 🤣. Cringe. They never knew each other. The whole Sakura's love for Sasuke saved him doesn't make sense. They spent barely a year in their genin year before sasuke left. Sasuke tried to kill Naruto and Sakura multiple times. Then at the end of the war, Kishimoto tried to do the "oh they have such a deep understanding between each other" which comes off as cringey. He gets her pregnant then leaves for years. She's literally a single mom who's broke.

Every relationship in Naruto is so cringey and forced except shikatemari. Kishimoto should've focused on the main story and fixed his potholes and leave the ending open.

Naruto would not have been perfect but at least it would've been remembered for staying true to its vision but instead it's remembered for cringey relationships, dumbass villain (except pain and madara) and a story that lost its core which is a shame coz I used to love Naruto. I was inspired by its messages but now....

I also know a bunch of nh stans who have their complaints with their development. I wish Kishi gave more attention to his female cast really, thats all I fucking ask. If he did that one single basic thing, then maybe the endgame relationships wouldnt have been an asspull and theyd be given propper screentime with their love interest, both Sakura and Hinata. The Last tbh i think the writers played it safe and stuck to the whole Naruto shounen vibe thingy, so im not surprised it was plotted that way. Typical cliché shounen movie.

But does that bother me? No! The Last was a mess, their development was shit, they definitely needed more screentime but hey at the end of the day theyre cute as fuck, we have that kiss scene, flirting scenes, a shit ton of official art, three kids, Seiki's gif :33 and a whole ass arc for their wedding all that for just a shounen anime so eh. yes, I’ve had my top surgery a week ago and even tho I’m stil in recovery mode I could not be happier. I can’t lift my arms very much and sitting up is also kind of hard so here are just some quick facts about my surgery. this must not be true for every trans man obviously.

1. the only point I was panicking...literally panicking was when I had to wait in my room for the doctors to take me to surgery but the nurse gave me a happy pill and I was chilled as fuck.

2. I got my anesthesia, blinked and the surgery was over. I didn’t even realize I blacked out.

3. I got 4 drainages, 2 on each side and 2 of them (on my left side) hurt so fucking bad I couldnt move at all. it was the only thing that hurt tho and they adjusted them the next morning and the pain was gone.

4. I wasnt able to walk without help the first day after surgery. I got black spots in my vision as soon as I sat up and moving with the tubes coming out of me was complicated as well. I had my sister help me with all of that.

5. don’t even bother to lift your arms. you can’t and you’re not allowed to. get used to ask for help. you will need help with dressing, getting stuff down from surfaces higher than your waist, washing your hair and back etc. etc.

6. I got two of my drainages pulled on the third day of my hospital visit, the other two on the next day. this didnt hurt at all. one day later I got released for good so I spend a total of 5 days in hospital.

7. you are happy that your binder can go to trash? well let me introduce you to a medical corsett then. I dont think they get prescribed in every country but I got them. they are basically your old binder but WAY tighter. I have to wear them up to 6 weeks now. yay.

8. Im in week 1 now and I hate that thing. also I still need help dressing (especially jackets), cant lift my arms higher than my breast, am not allowed to carry things over 10 pounds and cant shower. I can wash myself but need help with my back and my hair still.

9. I’m not in pain. like...at all. but I feel like ants are crawling under the skin of my chest. I’ve been told thats a good sign.

10. I was allowed to use my testo gel again 6 days after surgery.

I’ll keep you updated, guys. next weeks my strings get pulled. I also have been staring at my chest for hours. it’s so flat now. I’m just so fucking happy. do you have any more questions? feel free to aks!

interesting! i’m just about to get into oct 4 in-game actually and i dont even remember what takaya said from my original playthrough, and it’s only been five months since then. definitely will get back to you on what i think about this then (if i even have a thought. sometimes my synapses refuse to connect when aigis on screen) 

and true! the chairman can be a goofy side-villain i don’t mind him! i, too, could not even take that entire bit seriously with how sudden it was and how little i cared for mitsu’s dad at the time. pretty much another case of sloppy execution, that i can agree. the crucifixion was funny tho

ahh yeah i can understand that! lmao thats a cute quirk if i may say so. even in fiction there’s this trope where the rich families are excessively formal with eachother, yet the love is plain as day. i never denied kirijo’s love towards mitsuru, but simply conflated outwardly-affectionate to loving. kirijo’s design is quite... intense and so is his demeanor lmao, his curtness towards mitsu also did not strike me as ‘loving’ and she seemed sad/scared at the prospect of visiting him. obviously they still loved eachother just expressed it in actions more than traditional methods like yukari and her dad. but i love that story you shared :D  

and now that i see your point in it’s fullness... that’s extremely true. the problem with strega as a whole really is just that they suffer from needing to be seen as the ‘bad guys’ objectively when the topic is so subjective :0 exactly the point you made in the initial ask. there really is no grand ideological clash between SEES and strega like how we see in p5′s antagonists (even p4, if what i’ve gather of it is true) yet i think the writers wrote it that way just so there could be a human-shaped obstacle before the real final battle. fodder, for lack of a better word (and i really do hate to use it), before nyx’s fight. 

the story of persona 3 seems to work best when there is no answer. when the original intent of “not being preachy” and leaving it vague is met, i feel. which is why the manga seems to do it well, yes i can see now :0 i should def give it a read!! (I saw like one panel where ryoji had his bangs down and almost CRIED he looks the same as minato.,.,)<-- is the biggest minato arisato fan on earth

LMAOO actually i do think power of friendship was in fes too like very briefly but i cant remember it. however, more importantly, i do believe the intent of modern persona is its emphasis on the cumulative nature of the ‘bonds’ you forged rather than each individual? or rather, it’s the effort each MC put into getting to know people or going through it with their fellow teammates instead of doing things solo. it’s why akechi failed while ren succeeded, why adachi failed while yu succeeded. both of them rejected the world and insisted that they were better off without anyone in their lives. (not that i agree with what general modern persona is saying, but that’s the logic behind it). maruki’s just a whole other case i wont get into <3 he had enough goodwill to achieve godhood briefly but ig PT were built diff 

thinking about it more will make my head explode i never minded power of friendship plots myself (i grew up with naruto dattebayo). my heart gets fuzzy whenever the heroes triumph from some cheesy thing like true friendship whatever that means. it truly is. an anime moment. that i will excuse for now 

i didnt know junpei gets developed in the spin-off rhythm game :0 i just knew his dance moves were sick with it. but i see your point there! you’re looking for a slight personality change rather than different actions as development.. if i’m reading this right? then there's nothing i can really say aside from, yeah, junpei doesnt really change from beginning of the game and after much from any obvious aspect (like. i’d definitely have to be thinking hard about it to come up with one which is an indication that it was bunk from the start). 

and so doesn’t yukari. i agree! she does not undergo much of a personality change either, and i never claimed as such. she was a sweet-yet-troubled girl in the beginning and same in the end. which is why it does boggle me that p3 fans cite the “character development regression” argument for anything, without ever taking the time to understand what development it was in the first place. the way i interpreted it and highlighted in the post was her way of dealing with grief over the death of her father. the way she goes from truth-seeking, to jaded, to quietly determined. that’s literally the only crux-resolution of yukari’s character to me. 

i guess by that logic, i’ve found junpei’s ‘development’ to be his aimlessness, to finding something to protect in chidori, to finding someone to live for in their stead also in chidori. from just flying through life to living life decisively. 

to me, these characters aren’t particularly that deep, and i never claimed as such since it’s like persona, the game that juggles so many characters including 22 side ones -- it’s pretty much a given they’ll be tropey. but i can say that if there’s anything p3 did right it’s depicting different levels of grief in all its characters in some capacity, which at least matches its theming. 

and what i can say it does wrong, is not extending that same care and nuance in its villains (Aside from maruki i think), just so they can fill in the shoes of “bad guy”. 

I feel like the main problem with how Strega (Takaya and Jin, at least) are written is just about the game desperately wanting them to remain excessively unlikable until after they are defeated, which is…bizarre and unnecessary, to say the least. They are never actually doing anything of importance, so the narrative relies on "dehumanizing" them into stock villains, to give the players some reason to dislike or, at least, oppose them on a personal level, hence the lack of meaningful characterization. Jin's November comment about SEES "not having a clue what will happen if the Dark Hour disappears", impliedly being about the memory wipeout, since Takaya told them outright they would lose their powers earlier, is the perfect example of this, imo. He gets cut off mid-sentence, so he doesn't spoil it for later, naturally, but it's never brought up again, after eventually being reveled by Ryoji, because that is actually a pretty solid reason for them to antagonize the protagonists (imagine waking up on the streets, with no personal documents, feeling awfully sick and wondering why no one is looking for you!) but, again, they are yet to be defeated and not meant to come off as even remotely sympathetic until then. It's just very…unskillful writing. Sorry for the long message, btw, I initially just wanted to leave a regular comment, actually, but there's just so many words it apparently wouldn't fit in less than five separate responses 😵‍💫

yoooo thanks for the input. thats also a really good way of looking at it! the game needing to make them unlikeable pretty much explains things. it just ends up being really goofy. which is a shame because they really do have great backstories that remain largely unexplored.

honestly? i never made this connection myself so thanks for telling me! i could see that being true and i'm about to hit that point in my replay game soon myself so i can look at it with this context. question is how could jin have possibly have known this info... my guess is ikutsuki could have fed them that info since he also supplied them with his suppressant drugs, plus they even knew about the Ruin thing that Nyx could have brought about. honestly, including ikutsuki the "antagonists" of p3 are an interesting bunch with how much potential they have that's not really explored but i guess thats just a hashino persona game thing.

also i just think between them and ikutsuki i def see strega having more sympathetic light being shone on them since they were the direct victims of old kirijo's depravity. out of all the kids, only they survived? your comment about them "not having any personal documents" just strikes me as so fcked up. damn. hope it changes a bit in reload.

like im guessing this one is an Important Dragon so thats why he has a name and the others dont, and like. yeah the shouts are. dragon words so it makes sense that they have language but. idk there’s something really odd about “monstrous beasts” and “named creatures intelligent enough to have language” being true of the same thing 

anyway i now understand that there’s actually two options for which guy to follow out of helgen, you can go with hadvar who is an imperial soldier who sympathized with you but still helped lead you to what was supposed to be your death, or ralof who is one of your fellow prisoners and is a stormcloak soldier 

either one leads you along basically the same path and they’re weirdly both from riverwood but don’t seem to know each other??

i didn’t even realize there were two guys calling out to me in the chaos the first time i played. so. medea just blindly followed hadvar because she didn’t see ralof there, hadvar helped her and was kind to her, and she doesn’t understand the politics involved and doesn’t know what she was arrested for in the first place so she feels maybe the imperials had a good reason for wanting to kill her, but still doesn’t trust anyone who leads prisoners to execution without telling them why 

but she’s kinder toward them because of hadvar (and she was so confused and disoriented she doesn’t realize he was one of the main officers involved in the execution either) 

ragweed however followed ralof, saw hadvar but went NNNNOPE FUCK THAT GUY. he’s actually fond of ralof now and is VERY much on a “FUCK THE IMPERIALS” mindset after what they did to him. headcanoning he just kinda got roped into that whole mess like the other thief did

for a while i was doing a thing where he’d steal the shoes off every corpse he came across (or created) just to fuck with people like “who’s going around taking all these shoes” but then i got tired of it bc obviously the npcs dont actually notice that happening and it wasnt that funny 

so now his new hobby is stealing every egg he can find. when he gets a house hes just going to have this huge pile of eggs

been thinking about how so many people (even other trans people) subconsciously believe in the gender binary and how it affects their views. like even people who accept nonbinary people view them as being on a spectrum with men and women being the opposite ends of the spectrum, and you can see this belief reflected in the way so many people view trans men and trans women (or amab people and afab people, or transmascs and transfems, or people who experience transmisogyny and those who dont, etc etc) as opposites.

i think this is why people act as though if trans women experience one thing trans men must experience the inverse and vice versa. why people think trans mens experiences must be the opposite of those of trans women.

if you follow this logic, it makes perfect sense to say that because trans women grow up traumatized by the closet and by transmisogyny, that because trans women grow up unable to truly access male privilege despite being viewed as bpys/men by many, and that because so-called male socialization is bullshit, the opposite is true of trans men.

however, as trans men and women are not opposites, that doesnt hold up. the fact that trans women and other trans people who experience transmisogyny are uniquely traumatized by their upbringing and dont experience the freedoms that cis boys do as children does not inherently imply that trans men and tme trans people are not traumatized by their childhood and are in fact allowed those freedoms.

(before i continue i need to clarify that you will never hear me say "female socialization" in any way outside of mocking, and that transmisogyny is absolutely a deeply alienating and horrifying trauma that people who arent trans women/transfems/etc are clearly not subject to)

in other words, trans women not being able to access the freedoms of living as a young cis boy or man does not mean that trans men are raised free from the trauma of being a child who people view as a girl and treat accordingly. and the fact that trans girls instinctively know that harmful messages and ideals directed at women apply to them even if theyre not always individually and specifically directed to them in their personal lives does not mean that trans boys instinctively know these messages do not apply to them even when directly faced with them.

its okay to point out the inherent trauma of being a closeted trans child who is subject to transmisogyny and also point out the trauma of being a closeted trans child who is subject to so-called misdirected misogyny (i dislike this term, i think it implies that if people were simply aware you dont actually identify as a woman they would stop, but i cant think of how else to put it so here we are).

in fact, i would say that the only true gender binary is the binary of cis men vs everyone else. cis men are the only group not directly targeted and traumatized by gender oppression in both childhood and later life. (this is not to say that gender oppression is healthy for cis men either tho obviously but theyre not its direct victim and it can benefit them in many ways while still emotionally poisoning them.)

the point here is that trans women and trans men are not enemies, nor even merely opposites. were all a community and we all experience transphobia and we even all experience gender oppression/misogyny in different but not opposite ways. we need to stop viewing our communities as separate and we need to stop lashing out at each other for having different experiences so that we can work together. and yes ive seen both trans men lash out at trans women and vice versa and thats just gotta stop!!! (and no im not counting trans women and transfems wanting a space that is specifically for people who experience transmisogyny and is free of men as lashing out ofc.) anyway idk how to end this this is just smth ive been ruminating on for a while and wanted to try and articulate lmao feel free to throw your two cents onto this long ass post if you feel so inclined
