Fighting for my LIFE to not write a fic where Durge and Ascended Astarion approach Enver Gortash to join their world domination polycule.
#Baldur's Gate 3#Durge#Durge x Ascended Astarion#Durge x Gortash#Like I have to ghostwrite for a living and I'm moving soon so I want to go hard with writing my projects SWIFTLY so I can stockpile money#(basically it's like $1000-$1500/book and I can finish a project in like 15-25 days normally; but IF I FOCUS ALL MY WRITING TIME ON WORK-)#(THEN I CAN PROBABLY HAVE LIKE $3500 TO MOVE WITH AFTER I PAY MY BILLS)#why am I on tumblr when I should be writing#I haven't even played the game yet smh#But I gave my PC to my friends so they'd have a computer#Might fuck around and buy a dedicated gaming laptop once I move and settle in#Like I don't have a lot of time for games; but I mean there's no reason I couldn't make it my work computer#and then write it off at tax time

BOOM! IT'S FINISHED!!
after so long, it finally done and dusted and ready for public release :3c
LMK SIX EAR MACAQUE SHIMEJI VER 1.0!!
Just click on the big words and ya can download, ye :D
Contains 2 zipfiles: The normal version and less frames version
Read down below for explanations on that
if got any problems launching and stuff, dont be afraid to message me, i'll try to help ya out :>
but as seen in the quick lil poster i made there, it says extra animation + more more info about that underneath the read đ
from the top,
EXTRA ANIMATION
Same like the SWK Shimeji, this one is has unique frames for each action of the Shimeji. best example is the walk, run, dash actions seen below
there are other actions that have unique frames like these, you are free to explore them :>
CUSTOM ACTION NAME
There are a few actions renamed in the shimeji code. Here is a guide for what they do:
Take Out Lantern = Mac takes out his lantern and admires it
Create Clone = Shimeji breeding 1
Visit Shadow = Shimeji breeding 2
disclaimer, I plan on making a full action guide list in the future so you can much easier reference what each action does :>, so stay tune when that happens
CUSTOM ACTION
Just like SWK, you may pet the Macaque!! >:3c give the lil bugger all the love he deserves~ (credit to Kilkakon for the original script)
as seen in this gif :3
Steps to do this action is as followed:
Make the shimeji sit down (any surface is okay, ie work floor/window top)
Move the cursor to the shimeji's head
Make sure it is a hand cursor and not an arrow cursor
Pet away!!
If you want to pick up the shimeji without prompting the pet action, just move the cursor lower until it turns into the arrow icon
NON-SYMMETRICAL SHIMEJI
One more thing that causes this to be my fav Shimeji so far. HE HAS NON-SYMMETRICAL FRAMES. Meaning his black sleeve stay on his left, while yellow stay on his right.
To do this, Mackie needed much more frames compared to SWK, which might cause him to lag on some devices. Hence why I prepared 2 versions of Mackie here. One with symmetry and one with none
PLEASE DOWNLOAD THE LESS FRAME VERSION TO NOT FRY YOUR PC'S!!
UPDATES WILL HAPPEN!!
just like SWK, this is version 1.0
updates will happen and I am at work working on the next csutom action. But it will not come out anytime soon since it requires me to draw a bunch of more frames again hhhh
BUT DO STAY TUNED >:3
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
but for now that will be all for ver. 1.0
many thanks to anyone interested in this project and of course
BIGGEST THANKS TO THOSE THAT HELPED BETA TEST THEM
for privacy reason they shall stay anonymous but
â¤â¤â¤â¤â¤â¤â¤â¤â¤â¤ >:3
PLUS EVEN MORE HEARTS!! â¤â¤â¤â¤â¤â¤â¤
A crash and a yell startle you in the kitchen, the spatula in your hand clattering into the egg pan as Seokjin lets out an unintelligible string of cursing and yelling. Closing your eyes and taking a deep breath, you try and center yourself in patience. Itâs not uncommon in your apartment for two to hear him suddenly break out into yelling, and it surely wonât be the last.Â
Kim Seokjin isnât the worst roommate. Not by a longshot, when you consider the horror stories youâve read in Reddit threads and seen on TikTok. Heâs clean, he has an aesthetic eye for decoration, heâs an amazing cook, he pays his portion of bills on time, and he doesnât steal food. Nor does he hog any of the common spaces in the house.
The negative? Seokjin is constantly gaming, which wouldnât be a bad thing if he gamed quietly. Namjoon hadnât warned you that Seokjin was a large-scale streamer before you moved in, focused on first-person shooter content and paid tournaments.Â
It had taken about three hours into moving in when he screamed for you to realize that there was no fixing that bit.Â
Meal finished and plated, you move to the dining room, sitting cross-legged in the chair and turning on the TV louder than necessary to tune out Seokjinâs hollering. Youâve come up with plenty of ways to tune him out, and listening to everything else on extreme volume is the easiest.Â
Your neighbors must hate you.Â
Halfway through your meal and eyes glued to RuPaulâs Drag Race, Seokjin comes trailing out of his room, drawing your attention. It isnât a hard thing to do. For a grown man who is chronically wired to his PC, he is beautiful. The kind of beauty that is used in dramas and romantic comedies kind of beautiful.Â
Dark, soft hair that is usually left shaggy and air-dried from the shower but you know looks dashing styled back for parties, equally dark eyes that shimmer with delight when he tells a horrible joke that he thinks is particularly amusing, full lips that would earn the envy of Aphrodite herself - Seokjin is painfully, artfully perfect.Â
Except for the constant gaming.Â
âWow, didnât offer to make me breakfast?â he asks. Itâs more of a jest than anything, popping the fridge open in search of a caffeinated beverage. âHow little do I mean to you?âÂ
âCheck the microwave, nerd.âÂ
He looks surprised, meandering to the appliance in question and opening the door to see a plate of breakfast for dinner inside. âWow,â he sighs dreamily. âYou really are my favorite roommate.â
âIâm your only roommate.â
âWell, youâre better than Namjoon.â
âMmm. That isnât a hard feat, I donât chronically break pieces of furniture.â
Humming his agreement, Seokjin shoves eggs into his mouth, munching happily. âWhen are you going to finally play some games with me, huh?âÂ
âMmmm never.â
âYou think I donât know you have a little setup in there?â
âI like Animal Crossing. You like Apex.â
âCome on, I can teach you Apex.â
Itâs a conversation youâve had a million times. Gaming is the single thing that the two of you have in common. When you first discovered that Seokjin worked in the digital sphere and was a content creator for popular games online, you were a bit worried. It wouldnât have been the first time you had been fetishized for so much as liking a game.Â
Thankfully, Seokjin was alright. He didnât make it weird, and after a casual comparison of the things you liked to play, he decided that the interests werenât common enough to be a huge pain in the ass about it.Â
He did really want to play at least once, with you though.
âI know how to play Apex,â you mumble, eyes flickering back to the TV. Your last situationship revolved around playing the stupid first-person shooter together. âI donât like it.â
As in, you were absolutely never playing that game again after being worn out from it and having it associated with someone who kind of sucked anyway.Â
âHow can you not like Apex?â Seokjin mutters, more to himself than anything else.
Thankfully he drops the subject, distracted by your show. He shuffles to the couch, where you join him eventually, both of you tucked into the cushions as you watch the show. For the most part, Seokjin is quiet, only peppering you with questions during the commercial breaks. Youâre happy to answer.Â
Itâs comfortable, your little life with him. Youâve almost lived together for a year, and despite the annoying gaming thing and his habitual bad jokes, you like living with Seokjin. You like having him as a friend, even.Â
Things are good.
-
Things are not good. You clench your jaw as you re-read the email, feeling the tension creep into your shoulders. You can already feel the headache that has not yet happened but is predestined.Â
If people would just read their emails before sending a snarky request with your boss CCâd-Â
Mark: Come by my office, please.Â
Sighing, you push out from the desk and head toward your boss's office. Your stomach flips uneasily, unsettled as you walked by the windowed offices of the executive staff. It isnât that youâre afraid of your boss, but you certainly have been having a bad enough day without having to explain that if Alicia in accounting had just read your email she wouldnât be confused.
At the appointed office, you tap lightly on the door frame. âHi, still a good time?â
Itâs obviously a good time, but for some reason, you feel the need to break the tension by clarifying. Your boss is a wide-set man who ushers you in with a wave. âCatch the door for me, please.â
The door shuts with a click and it feels like impending doom.Â
Sitting quickly in a chair, you wait with a racing heartbeat as Mark finishes writing an email. The silence is awkward so you distract yourself by looking at the pictures of him and his family on his shelves as if you havenât seen them a dozen times, and looking at his nameplate and literally any other object in his office to keep from feeling uncomfortable.Â
The horrible 70s rock that plays softly in the background only makes it worse.Â
With a final click on his mouse, he turns to you and says, âSorry about that, trying to get through all these damn sales contracts.â
âSounds exhausting.â You have no idea if it is - sales isnât your area of expertise. âI know theyâve been busy.â
âTons of new clients, which is always great but the paperwork is a killer.âÂ
âMakes sense.âÂ
âWhat is Alice in accounts losing her mind about? I saw that youâre missing invoices for radio stations and itâs way past the cycle?âÂ
âAs explained in my email to Alice, the station in question filed for bankruptcy and has a halt on all their funds. This was something I communicated two months ago with accounting and legal. I believe you may have been on it as well, though perhaps I left you off.â You didnât leave him off. You donât leave him off any emails. âThose invoices are all going to be a mess until thatâs sorted.â
âLook,â he sighs. âWe all have a shit ton going on right now. One email letting us know that payment would be an issue isnât going to cut it. You canât assume that we see the emails. Was it flagged as high-importance?â
âYes.â
And I mentioned it in three meetings and a sticky note, you think.Â
âSee, itâs just not foolproof. Itâs your job to overcommunicate these things. You can't rely on accounting or me to remember these things for you.â
You give him one slow blink. Then another.Â
âUnderstood,â you answer, throat tightening. âI will make sure to overcommunicate from now on, I apologize for the confusion.âÂ
âThanks,â he says, a dismissal. âDoor closed on the way out, I have a stupid call to jump on.âÂ
Door closed behind you, you wonder how anyone gets anything fucking done around this place. Because of course doing all of the things logical and reasonable to communicate a change in accounting isnât reasonable. Going above and beyond and being responsible for other people not reading their email is now your job to compensate for.Â
Steam blowing from your ears, you march back toward your desk in a blind rage, fists open and closing. You donât see it coming when Yoongi smacks into you, eyes glued to his phone and fresh iced-americano now coloring your blue shirt a nice shade of mud.Â
âHoly fuck I am so sorry,â Yoongi swears. âShit - fuck - sorry.âÂ
Cold leeches through you like a knife. You rush to the bathroom, Yoongiâs cursing and apologies drifting behind you. The press of paper towels lifts a little of the yellow from your shirt, but it doesnât fix the sticky-cold cling of fabric to your chest and the unmistakable stain down the front of your outfit.Â
âFucking perfect.â
-
Blessedly Seokjin isnât home when you arrive stained in dry coffee, smelling like Starbucks, and sagging with a delightful mix of rage, wrath, and irritation. Like an angry little storm cloud, you move around the apartment, snapping cabinets closed extra hard and yanking your blouse off with a little more violence than usual.Â
A hot shower makes most of the tension bleed away, but not all of it vanishes. Wrapped in a towel and turned into a prune, you reach for the clothes on the counter and realized in your haste to peel yourself out of Yoongiâs coffee, you didnât bring any with you.Â
It doesnât matter anyway. Seokjin isnât home, so you yank the door open and march toward your room, running smack into your second person of the day with a startled yelp and thankfully, a very tight grip on your towel.Â
âWhy are you all wet?â Seokjin shrieks, wiping his shirt as though he could get rid of the you-shaped wet stain. âAnd naked!â
âIâm in a towel! Why are you here?â
âI live here!â
âI meant right now! You werenât home!â
âWell, I do come home, usually! And I yelled I was home when I got here so you would hear me!â
âWell, I was in the shower!â
âObviously!âÂ
For a moment, the two of you stand there. Youâre dripping a puddle onto the tile and the cold air has goosebumps breaking out all over your body. You shiver as Seokjinâs eyes flicker down for a split second before heâs looking at the ceiling and gesturing. âWell - go find clothes!â
âI will! Jeez!âÂ
You storm into your room, slamming the door and pressing your back against it. Your towel is gripped tight in your fist, heart hammering. Youâre both adults and while being in a towel in front of Seokjin isnât embarrassing or scandalous, it was unexpected and new.Â
As you get dressed quickly, you canât help but think of the way his cheeks tinged pink and the nervous way he shifted. It was⌠cute.Â
With clothes on, Seokjin seems a lot less nervous around you. Heâs still a little stiff, you notice. You bump into him as the two of you navigate the kitchen together and he ducks his head, the tops of his ears red. You file the information away for another time, feeling your cheeks warm when you go to reach for a pair of tongs but he already has them held out to you.Â
It isnât uncommon behavior. Heâs known you long enough to know your habits around the kitchen, and youâve cooked enough meals together to recognize the patterns in which the two of you move around the kitchen.Â
Music plays in the background, Seokjin humming along. Occasionally, he sings the words, voice low and soft over the notes.
âYou have a nice voice,â you note as you flip the oven off. Heâs always had a nice voice, but youâve never said anything before. He raises his brows as you grab oven mitts. âYou do,â you insist with a grin. âI promise Iâm not lying.â
âA great voice to go with a great face right?â
âEw, here we go.â
He moves out of your way as you open the oven, leaning on the counter and crossing his arms over his broad chest. âMaybe I should sing on stream. Do you think they would like that? People already think Iâm the most handsome streamer.â
âSure, maybe do some sort of caroling or something for the holidays.â
He pauses. âThatâs actually not a terrible idea. What if I just called my friends who were streaming on Discord and started caroling to them? I could make it a charity thing and select streams based on donations.â
Placing the hot pan on the top of the stove, you glance at him sidelong. âDo you do charity streams a lot?â
âAll the time. Most of the long streams I do are for charities.âÂ
âSo itâs not all just⌠earning cash?â
âNo, I get plenty of that.â
âSo why do you need a roommate?âÂ
Seokjin leans over you, to pluck a fry off of the pan. He doesnât move away immediately, eyes dropping down to yours as he sticks the french fry in his mouth. The warmth of his chest radiates through your shoulder where you touch and suddenly, you feel a buzz at his nearness.
Itâs impossible not to drop your eyes down to his mouth as he chews. For a moment, youâre dazed by his pillow lips - they really are a marvel to look at. Then heâs smirking and murmuring, âFor the cooking. Did you get these out of a frozen bag? Ugh.â
Spell broken you swat at him and he laughs, leaning away again. âI donât like to be alone,â Seokjin admits. âHaving a roommate is nice. Granted, I was supposed to be living with Namjoon until he and Jungkook decided to be in love and all that. Now I have you filling out the rest of his lease.â
âSo you can afford to live alone in this city and donât?â
âHey, I also save a ton of money. I will want to buy a house one day. Consider yourself as a part of my savings tactic.âÂ
âUh-huh.âÂ
Rooming with Seokjin had been of convenience. Finding affordable living in the city was nearly impossible - especially on your salary - and when Namjoon had announced after only two months of living with Seokjin that he and his boyfriend were getting their own place, it had timed up perfectly. You had been vaguely familiar with Seokjin at the time, and you desperately needed cheaper rent.
Youâd never really asked why Seokjin had a roommate at all. He had a work-from-home job at a software company doing something that went far beyond your understanding, and he made a ton from streaming.Â
Seokjin plops down on the couch instead of the dining room table, a plate full of chicken nuggets and fries balanced on his knee as he pats the seat next to him without looking. You definitely went the easy route for dinner after your terrible day, and Seokjin seems to pick up on the fact that tonight is an eat-from-the-comfort-of-the-couch kind of vibe.Â
âUgh,â Seokjin sighs as he watches Shangela get eliminated from the top four on All-Stars 3. âThat is heartbreaking. She worked really hard.â
Seokjin has never really voiced being a fan of the show, but you have a sneaking suspicion he watches it because you are, and itâs something to bond over. Maybe you should play a round of Apex with him.
Instead, you say, âYeah, she deserved it.â You pause. âThanks for watching with me, tonight. I had a rough day.âÂ
âHmm. I can tell.â He leans and squeezes your bicep absently. âIâm here for ya.â
Though you say nothing, your insides do a little bit of a flip.
-
Glancing at the clock on the stove, you frown. Pausing your show, you pull up your phone, paging over to Twitch to pull up Seokjinâs stream. Heâs been doing one of those stream-a-thon things again, and you havenât seen him come out to eat since the morning. Itâs well into the evening now.Â
Seokjinâs stream pulls up and you see him in the corner of his screen, the familiar lighting in his room glowing in the background. His room is surreptitiously clean, free of any garbage and clutter. His bed is always made any time you see it, and the beautiful tiles of pulsing lights above it make a nice ambiance for his stream.Â
Currently, he is focused, leaning a little too far toward his screen as he talks to his teammates. Taehyung and Jungkook, by the sound of it. Thereâs no evidence suggesting he has left his room today, which urges you to get up and head to the kitchen, closing out the stream.
In silence, you put together a small meal. A wrap, a small back of chips, and some damn water will do him some good. Pulling up his stream again, you wait until his match finishes and heâs leaning back, talking to chat.Â
A little nervous, you walk with food in hand to his bedroom door where you can hear his soft voice. You knock lightly and he calls you in. Carefully, you stick your head in and see him turn. Youâre out of shot from his stream, but heâs confused nonetheless. You never interrupt.Â
Sliding the plate into view, Seokjinâs face lights up. He rolls away from the computer and comes over, his headset on his head still as he gushes, âHoly fuck thank you. You are literally the best. A goddess. A queen. Royalty. Angel among humans. Iâm starving.â
âYeah, itâs like seven at night idiot.âÂ
âYeah, whatever. Thank you.â He bites into the wrap eagerly, taking a few minutes to chew and swallow. He pauses and glances you up and down before smiling. âReally, thank you. That was incredibly thoughtful of you.â
âUh-huh.â You glance at his screen. âHave a good rest of your stream.â
-
Jin: Left lunch for you in the fridge. I made extra this morning.Â
You look at the text and furrow your brow, toothbrush still popped into the side of your cheek. You continue absently scrubbing as you walk to the fridge and pull it open. Sure enough, thereâs a glass dish with a sticky note on it and a smiley face.Â
Plucking the note off the top, you read it. Thanks for taking care of me. Now Iâll take care of you.Â
With a smile bright enough to light up the entire city, you go about getting dressed for work.
-
The smile doesnât last long. Work drags on unsteady, tired feet, and once again, you are stuck in a slew of responsibilities that shouldnât be yours, reading emails that are reiterating things already discussed, and joining meetings that should be emailed.Â
By the time lunch comes and goes, you realize that you havenât yet eaten. Tucked in the small cubicle, you nibble on Seokjinâs homemade meal, eyes glued to the neverending scroll of budget tracking and invoices.Â
A raging headache lurks behind your eyes and though your lunch is superb - as it often is with Seokjinâs cooking - you canât help but feel your frustration mount by the time your next meeting rolls around.Â
Meeting after meeting interrupts your afternoon, and when you finish your last one long past the time to go home, your nerves are fried and a high-strung feeling follows you all the way to your car as you scroll through all of the emails you have yet to get to.
Because of all the fucking meetings.Â
The trip home is silent. Your fingers ache with the grip on the steering wheel of your car and when you park in the lot of the apartment complex, you sit there for a moment, car off, world muted by the car doors.Â
Head pressed against the steering wheel, you take a few steady breaths. It feels like you might cry, which isnât typical after a work day. But youâre frustrated and tired, and that goddamn headache is still looming in the back of your eye sockets.Â
Upstairs and in your apartment, you breeze past Seokjin who is in the kitchen. You mumble something about a migraine and he barely gets a moment to say anything before youâre in your room, door pressed shut. You lay in your bed without even taking your work close off, wrapping yourself in your blanket and closing your eyes.Â
The next thing you know, thereâs something warm pressed against your brow. You frown and groan, rolling over and feeling several joints in your body pop. Your eyes flutter open and you see Seokjin leaning over you, making you flinch slightly.Â
âSorry,â he laughs. âBut itâs really late and you should eat. I know you have a headache so I brought you meds and a cold towel. And ramen. I make the best ramen.â
âJungkook makes the best ramen,â you correct, sighing and leaning up a little. Your movements are stiff, tangled in a blazer and dress pants. âUgh, I slept like this?â
âJungkook does not make the best ramen. I will take that away.â
âFine, fine.â You take the medicine from the nightstand and chase it with the water glass offered. âThanks.â You look at all the things he brought you and your insides begin to melt. He lingers near the doorway, eyes soft, expression warm. âThank you for thinking of me. I⌠wow.âÂ
He shrugs, suddenly shy. âNo big deal. Now eat the best ramen in the world or Iâm going to have a fit.âÂ
With that, Seokjin leaves you to eat your ramen in peace. The first taste is amazing, already warming you up. You realized youâre ravenous, pulling noodles into your mouth hungrily. Absently, you think that it is the best fucking ramen in the world.
-
âWhatâs with you?â Seokjin asks as you drag your feet slowly in the grocery store. Rarely do you shop together, but today is an exception. âYou look like a zombie.â
You nearly shoot daggers at him. âI lost my headphones,â you snap. âWhich means I have to hear your gaming all night.â
âOh come on, Iâm not that loud.â
âWatch one of your streams back, Iâm sure youâll disagree.â
He sighs, turning the cart as you walk down the spice aisle. âSorry, Iâm preparing for this huge Apex tournament. Jungkook and I have been practicing duos a lot and itâs been a bit frustrating. Everyone has fucking aim assist these days, I swear that console players are doing to ruin-â
âJin.â He pauses his rant. âIâm just asking you to keep it down a little. I no longer have the means to ignore you⌠moaning weirdly during a game.â
âWhat?â
âYou havenât noticed? You kind of moan and yell. Itâs⌠ask your stream about it.â
He stops walking, staring at you as you walk ahead. âI donât do that.â You snicker and he makes a frustrated noise. âI donât!â
Five minutes pass with Seokjin sulking about your comment. Itâs when youâre in the milk aisle that he says, âSo youâve just been imagining me moaning on the other side of the wall, huh?â
âW-what?âÂ
âAdmit it. Youâve been thinking about me moooaaaning youâre having dirty thooooughts.â He sing-songs this to you, poking at your sides as you open the fridge to get milk.
âI am not.â
âItâs totally cool. I get it, handsome bachelor right on the other side of the wall, youâre bound to get curious and - oof.âÂ
âPut this in the cart,â you deadpan, having hit him in the stomach with the gallon of milk. He takes it from you and obliges, though there is a shit-eating grin on his face.Â
Seokjin isnât right, but he isnât explicitly wrong. When you first moved in, you had been shy and wondered about the attractive boy who lived just on the other side of the wall. Once you had fallen into familiarity, though, there had not been anything there.
Except recently.Â
The last few weeks have felt like the two of you have reached a new level of shared living space. You had done things together before, but now you find yourself making all your meals with Seokjin, bringing him snacks during stream, waking up to him making you breakfast or having prepared you lunch.Â
And now youâre doing groceries together, which was something uncommon enough to make you wonder.
You think back to the gentle way he made you dinner and brought you medicine when you had a headache, the way that your insides had turned cotton candy at the action and house these days, your eyes lingered on him just a little bit more.Â
But no. Seokjin was your roommate, and you learned in your last situationship that you donât shit where you eat. Which is why you moved out of the old apartment and in with Seokjin in the first place.Â
The rest of your shopping experience goes with mild teasing. Youâre still a little bit on edge, but not enough to be truly mad, especially when he offers to cook dinner.Â
Once again, you find yourself nestled on the couch watching TV before he finally relents and announces heâs going to practice duos with Jungkook. He assures you that heâll keep it down this time - he isnât streaming, so you sure hope so - and vanishes for the rest of the evening.Â
When you get ready for bed, it is mostly silent on his of the wall. No yelling, but you can hear the soft lull of his voice. Oddly enough, itâs soothing, and you end up falling asleep with the barest sound of his hum through the walls.Â
-
Most nights, you can sleep through Seokjinâs yelling at the sudden sound of his knee hitting his gaming desk as he jumps up, a string of expletives laced with other unintelligible expressions of shock, horror, and frustration. Most nights, you can tuck your headphones in, and blissfully fall asleep to the sound of rain, hearing his insanity only once in a while.
Except now youâve lost your headphones, you donât have enough money to splurge on a new pair, and Seokjin has been practicing for a tournament for some extremely long stream he has coming up.Â
So now, you go nights without sleep. Nights where you drift off to dreamland after a long shift at the bar or studying for your dissertation. Nights like this, where you teeter on the edge between awake and asleep, and youâre startled straight out of your bed from a shout.Â
Heart pounding, you grip the edge of your bed, trying to get your bearings as Seokjinâs shouting echoes through the shared wall. You feel sick with the sudden rush of adrenaline and fear, closing your eyes for a moment as the room spins.
Gritting your teeth and ripping your blankets from you, you march to his room, stumbling as you try to get your bearings from waking up so suddenly. Your stomach does a nasty flip, churning at the unplanned activity as you pound your fist on his door.
âOpen up, motherfucker!â You screech, hand slamming on the door without pause. âI swear, Seokjin, sometimes I just want to-âÂ
The door rips open and you nearly knock him right in his chest. His very bare, very broad chest, lit up by the purple RBG lights on his headphones and strip lighting around his room to improve the ambiance of his setup.Â
âHoly shit, woman! What?âÂ
You blink, momentarily dazed at what you came here for, distracted entirely by the firm curves of his pectorals, skin smooth and gold. Was Seokjin always this in shape or is it a figment spurred by the rush of adrenaline?Â
Finding your words is hard, your brain is scrambled and near ready to make dial-up noises at the site of your roommateâs bare skin. âWe just talked about this,â you manage to spit out. âAnd youâre literally going to start screaming the same fucking day we talk about keeping it down?â
âI mean Iâm sorry but damn. You donât have to break the door down.â
âThen stop screaming!â
âYouâre the one screaming!â
âBecause Iâm trying to fucking sleep! I have dealt with you yelling, cheering, slamming the desk and hollering and doing your little moan-scream for almost a year without saying anything!â You yell back, fists clenched and rage boiling. âIâm so fucking over it!â
âThen why have you never mentioned it before? You know, like an adult!â
Your mouth hangs open at the clap back. âBe for real. I am not the problem here.â Â
âWell if Iâm the problem, why havenât you communicated that? Youâve been here eight months and it took me asking you at the grocery store to fess up that I was bothering you.âÂ
âI mean. Yeah, but-â
âSo donât yell at me that I didnât read your mind and I had no idea I was bothering you. Or get headphones.âÂ
âHow about you start gaming at normal hours? Have you ever thought of that?âÂ
He rolls his eyes. âYou mean my working hours?â
âI mean between the hours before 11 at night, Jin!âÂ
âMake me!â
âFine!â You snap, rage pushing you over. âShall we make a wager?âÂ
This catches him by surprise. He blinds a few times, tilting his head. âWhat are you proposing?âÂ
Crossing your arms, you nod to the computer. âYou want me to play Apex so bad? Fine, weâll make it a competition.âÂ
âThereâs no 1 v 1 in Apex.â
âDuos. Whoever gets the most kills wins. No shields higher than blue, no turning on each other. Just strictly kill count. If win, you donât get to game past 11 pm anymore.âÂ
âAnd if I win?â
âWhat do you want?â
âWhat can I have?â He pauses, looking you up and down. Something feels different as he does this. His gaze heavier. Darker. He licks his lips, your attention is drawn to the way the blue lights glittering on his wall turn the spit-slicked surface blue. âHow about any favor at any time that I ask? Are we also trying to win as a duo?â
âSure. No holds barred on how we get kills.âÂ
Again, he examines you, trying to puzzle something out. Wordlessly, he walks to his computer and grabs his headset. The door is open to his room, showing that he just has his basic setup turned on, with no intention of streaming. âJungkook Iâll hit you up tomorrow. I have to kick my roommate's ass.â Jungkook says something on the other side and Seokjin clears his throat. âYeah, no. Bye.â
He returns, phone in hand. Your phone pings in your room. âAdd me on Discord, I guess.âÂ
Wordlessly, you spin and head to your room.Â
There are still things Seokjin doesnât know about you. Like how you played his favorite game for a year straight, trying to impress your last roommate-turned-fuck-buddy with your skills. While it partially worked in your favor, their failure to commit to you gave you a sour taste about the game.Â
Itâs been a while since youâve played. Slower games are more your style, and you havenât turned on your PC in a while, but as it starts, lights inside of the glass case glittering, you feel a shiver of excitement.Â
Your setup is not nearly as advanced as your roommate's, who has three screens, a massive desk and hi-tech camera, a microphone, and a massive custom-built unit that could probably power a tank. Yours is pre-built but sturdy, and you have a single screen with a modest keyboard and headset to match.Â
Glancing at the Discord user, you roll your eyes at what Seokjinâs written: WorldWideHandsomeJin.
âWeirdo,â you mutter.Â
You add him anyway, getting comfortable in your chair and hitting the call button. He answers immediately, his voice making the hair at the back of your neck tingle as he says, âSo are you going to be my Discord kitten?â
âEw, donât ever say that again,â you mutter. Navigating your desktop, you start to update the game. âGive me fifteen. I have to update.â
âReally? Newbie.â
âSorry I donât play this game every second of my life. I havenât played since I moved out of the last place.âÂ
He hums, voice vibrating in your very nice headset. You turn him down a little bit, feeling just a little drunk from the rich timbre of his voice. âThat was a⌠weird situation, huh?â
âA bit.âÂ
âThey play Apex that much too?â
âNot as much as you do.â He hums again. âWho do you main?âÂ
âLoba.â
âFine,â you answer as the program opens. âIâm playing Wraith.âÂ
The game menu blares in your ears, making you squeak and reset all of your old settings. It feels weird to log on, pointedly ignoring the familiar username as you navigate your friends list to add Seokjin. He pops up and selects duos for you.Â
Your eyes nearly bug out of your head when you see his rank. âDiamond? Holy fuck do you touch grass?âÂ
âSays you! You played enough that you hit Diamond in your first season too, nerd. It shows your historical stats. I didnât know you had it in you.â
âWhatever. Ready up.âÂ
Neither of you says anything as the system prepares to put you in a game. You look at his stats, raising your brows as you flip through. Heâs historically hit the highest rank in the game, making you wonder why heâs dropped recently. He also has a ridiculous skin on his character, making you wonder how long heâs been playing.Â
Apex Legends is a first-person shooter game with a battle royale format. Similar to Fortnite, teams load into the game and pick up weapons and other materials to fight other teams the ring of combat gets smaller and smaller. With Seokjinâs selection of Loba guarantees that youâll be able to stock weapons and ammo. With your selection of Wraith, you can get in and out of situations quickly and youâll know when an enemy team focuses on you.
As the map loads, you canât help but feel the tremor in your hand. Your leg bounces up and down as you wait, watching the dropship come into focus. You give Seokjin the power to drop your duo anywhere on the complex map. You almost expect him to launch immediately, but youâre impressed to see that he has enough patience to drop you a moderate distance on the map.
Which means fewer weapons, fewer shields, and fewer teams to kill. You frown as you navigate your character to land near utility boxes full of weapons. Does he think you need to take it slow? Or maybe heâs worried about giving you too many people to kill easily.Â
âTeam to the north,â you comm, opening up boxes and selecting weapons, shields, and med packs. âWhat do you shoot?â
âEnergy. Preferably the volt.âÂ
âVolt here. Let me know if you see a flatline or sentinel.âÂ
âYou snipe with Wraith?âÂ
âWhen she says someoneâs aiming at me, yeah?âÂ
He hums but does not comment the two of you use the map to navigate. You fall into a rhythm, using the controls feels sort of familiar. As you work your way toward the next ring, Seokjin startles you when he starts firing shots at a time looting that you miss. You flinch and whirl, but heâs already eliminated the pair.Â
âTwo zero.âÂ
âWhatever,â you growl, ignoring his smug voice.
Shooter, move your character in game commands. You dodge behind a box as an enemy team rattles off shots. Your heart pounds as you use a sniper to look in the direction of the shots, seeing the duo up on a tower. Lining up the scope, you click and hit a player.Â
âKnocked,â you call automatically. The second teammate makes a bad call and tries to get their knocked pair up. You line up the shot and click twice. âKnocked. Out.â You move your mouse and finish the other teammate. âOut.â
âYeah, yeah, good comms whatever. Weâre even.â
You grin. âJust trying to communicate to my teammate.âÂ
He snorts. âSure.â
For a few moments, the two of you navigate to a safe zone. When you see two teams clash, you donât even think. Normally youâd wait for one team to finish off the other, but youâre in a competition with Seokjin, too. Suddenly, winning means more than just peace and silence.
âKnocked,â you call, sniping another player. âOut. Out. Knocked.âÂ
âYou motherfucker,â Jin hisses. âYouâre supposed to - out - tell me when weâre going to push a team.â
âHey, that was my kill!â
âYou only knocked him!âÂ
âWhatever. And I pushed them because I want to win.â
âI didnât realize you were so good at this.â The two of you start looting the load out of the eliminated players. âYou kept saying I donât like Apex and here you are, really good at it.â
âHonestly, I used to like it.â Together, you traverse the map until you enter the next ring. Seokjin pauses to use Lobaâs pop shop ability, a cache of weapons and materials in the local area showing up in front of you. As you sort through them, you continue, âBut I used to play with my old roommate and I used to do it to impress them. As it turns out, being good at a video game does not a relationship make.â
âHmm. Well if it makes you feel any better, I like you even without the Apex.â
âI meant I was trying to get them to like me romantically.â
âI know what you meant.âÂ
You pause. Seokjin does not explain his statement, humming lightly as he picks up ammo and leaves the little shop running. He skips down the hill with his character, his happy little tune deep in your ear.Â
Nerves get the best of you in the next firefight with a team. You get knocked and screech into the headset, thinking that your chance to win is over. Seokjin, thankfully, takes pity on you and heals you after your near-death experience. But now heâs in the lead, and there are only five teams left.Â
I know what you meant.Â
The words sit heavy on you. While you are attracted to Seokjin you know itâs a bad idea. Roommates being anything more than roommates often brings other issues. Youâd learned firsthand how poorly not defining a relationship could go. That was on you as an adult too but⌠you didnât want something in between.
And you have no inclination of what he meant.Â
Seokjin wasnât a very flirty person. Teasing you came easily enough, and he was always nice. He had been a little extra nice recently since youâd been spending more time together, but there wasnât anything that would suggest he saw you as more than a roommate.Â
Two more people downed, and you were tied. The two of you were more into the game and less into the bet. Your interrupted sleep was long forgotten, and you leaned forward as you devised a plan, locking down a high tower where you could see enemy teams coming to escape the shrinking ring.Â
âGlad you got that stupid sentinel,â Seokjin mutters. âWho snipes with Wraith.âÂ
âShut up,â you shoot back, though you donât really mean it. âYour second gun is a fucking wingman.âÂ
âBecause itâs like a one tap to the head!â An incoming team distracts him from arguing with you. âOver by that dino cage.â
âGot it,â you comm back. The second you shoot, you draw fire. âOh my god do they have a Kraber?âÂ
âYeah, but they fucked the shot. You got this.âÂ
Taking a breath - a little dramatic, you realize as you scope them - you take the shot. You tap one, but they have red armor. You curse, pissed you installed a fucking armor limitation, and duck behind the wall as the other team misses the shot with their kraber again.Â
âBest gun in the game and they canât hit shots!â Seokjin laughs. âImagine! Their buddy must be fuming.â
You scope again and tap the person again. âKnocked. Do we stand our ground or try and take them?â Another shot misses. âCan you keep a scope on that person you cracked and I can push? Other team is probably trying to wait it out.âÂ
âIf they see you?â
âThen youâre fucked but theyâre not going to engage between two snipers. Maybe? I donât know. Just do your thing.â
And you do your thing as Seokjin runs off toward the enemy team. They no longer have shots on their gun - which makes you roll your eyes, itâs the best gun on the map - and keep focused. Either they think youâre moving or they make a bad call - the healthy teammate tries to pick up their knocked ally and you take the shot.Â
âTheyâre both cracked.âÂ
âGot it- AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH OTHER TEAM.âÂ
His screech makes you slam your knee into the underside of your desk. No wonder he does this all the time, you think, realizing that the disrupting noise is a lot easier to make than you originally thought. âLet them take the kill then!â
âFuck that I want to win!â
âEw is this about the bet still? Now I want to win the game!â
âThatâs what Iâm talking about! Ye of little fAIIIIIITH!â
Itâs hard not to giggle as he breaks off into yelling, entering a firefight while you try to provide cover and miss your shots. âStop fucking portaling where I want to shoot!â
âStop missing!â
âKnocked motherfucker!âÂ
âGot it!â
Seokjin finishes the two teammates as the knocked enemies on the other team expire. Both of you scream over your headsets. You shoot to your feet as the victory screen flashes. You donât even wait - you bolt toward the door, your wired-in headset ripping off your head and nearly yanking you back as you go.Â
The door is already open as he yells loudly, jumping up and down and grabbing you by the forearms, jumping around in circles with you. Itâs stupid but itâs fun, and you canât help but feel elated as he shakes you wildly, screaming, âYaaaaaaaaaaaaah!âÂ
His hands are warm on your biceps, gentle and squeezing you excitedly. And then between one breath and the next, heâs pulling you toward him, pressing his lips to yours.Â
A shock goes through you. You freeze for a moment, completely taken aback and unsure how to react. Seokjin realizes what heâs done and immediately backs away, running a hand through his hair and tugging at the strands as he says, âShit - I am so sorry. That was wow - that was a line crossed without your consent and Iâm so sorry.âÂ
Heat floods you from head to toe. Your heart slams against your chest and you stare at him as he fumbles over an apology, his face red as you feel. Your mind canât catch up as the warmth spreads from your face to the rest of you.
âIâm genuinely so sorry, I just got really excited and-â
âWhat did you mean earlier,â you cut him off. âWhen you were all I know what you meant. Look I⌠really donât want to make this living situation weird.â
âTotally understand, Iâm so sorry.â
You chew on your lip, looking at him. He looks earnest, eyes round and expression pleading. Your lips tingle where he kissed you, so quickly that youâve already forgotten. Part of you wants to tell him to kiss you again. It was nice. And the flip in your stomach was⌠good.Â
But the part of you speaking now says, âI had fun gaming with you. Apology accepted. I am super tired though, so Iâm going to go to bed okay?â
âYeah. Listen, I am so sorry. That wonât happen again and I just - that was not cool of me at all.â
âItâs okay.âÂ
âIt wasnât.âÂ
You offer a smile, still nervous, fingers twitching. âI know you didnât like, mean anything by it.â
He frowns. âWell I did but thatâs my issue.âÂ
Your heart is a stone skipping on the smooth surface of a pond. âWhat does that mean?âÂ
âLook,â he sighs. âI donât want to make things weird, alright? I harbor a bit of a crush on you and that was honestly absolutely not okay for me to just-â He gesticulates wildly with his hands. âIt was an inconsiderate thing for me to do.âÂ
A crush. Your breathing hitches and you rub sweaty palms against your pants, nodding. âItâs - weâre okay. Weâre fine.âÂ
Seokjin nods, nibbling on his bottom lip as he stares at you, red-faced and nervous. The silence turns awkward, your mind blanks and buzzes as you try to digest his words.
Crush crush crush crush.Â
âIâm gonna go to bed,â you announce abruptly, needing to escape the room to breathe for a moment. He nods, scratching the back of his neck awkwardly as you rush out. âNight!â
Behind locked doors in your room, you cover your face, feeling the way your cheeks are flushed. You do some deep breathing, trying to regulate your heart rate as your brain spins its tires on Seokjinâs words- confession.Â
He confused. That he has a crush.Â
For a few moments, you just lean over and pant, trying to think how you feel. Your stomach is a bundle of nervousness and your hands are a little shaky. But youâre not upset. In fact, you smile a bit, thinking of the way that Seokjin had turned shy and the way his lips had felt soft for that split second of a chance.
Straightening, you stare at the wall between your bedrooms. Seokjin is right there. Has been right there. And has admitted to liking you and is sweet and kind and fun to hang out with and-
It might be a bad decision. Youâve been down this road before. It ended up with you nursing feelings and deciding that feelings with roommates was a bad idea. But your last roommate didnât have feelings for you like that. They liked the sex, but that was where the attraction ended.Â
So maybe -
You knock loudly on Seokjinâs door. Thereâs some shuffling on the other side and he opens it, brows furrowed and a little breathless. Before he can ask what youâre doing, youâre pushing past him and asking, âWhen you say you have a crush on me what do you mean? In the physical, only attracted to your appearance kind of way, or like the would date kind of way?â
âWell I am physically attracted to you,â he answers slowly, turning to look at you. âBut I also like you. Youâre funny and incredibly kind, and youâre easy to live with. I like the way that you make your hashbrowns a little extra crispy and crunchy, and I like that you think of me when you do things.âÂ
âSo you like me?â
âYes, I think I⌠included that?â
You lick your lips, taking a shaky breath. âSo you donât want to just fuck me no strings attached?â
He blanches. âNo. I donât. Look I know I made you uncomfortable-â
âKiss me.â
âWhat now?â
âKiss me!â
There is a fleeting smile Seokjin gives you that later, youâll think on with a fluttering heart and breathless laugh. But now, all you can think about is the gentle touch of his hands as they cradle your face and the delicate way his lips press against yours, pillow soft and sweet.Â
Seokjin smells like his body wash, the sage and juniper intoxicating as you wrap your arms around his neck. His skin is warm as you press your palms against his skin, his pulse throbbing underneath your thumb.Â
The kiss is chaste, just a firm press of lips and a surprised noise shared between the two of you. Tentatively, you pull away, eyelashes fluttering as you look up at him. Seokjinâs eyes are swimming pools of darkness framed by long lashes. Heâs so beautiful, but up close heâs deadly, flecks of gold glittering in his irises.Â
âI just,â you whisper. âI donât want it to be weird but I also⌠want.âÂ
You donât have to explain. Seokjinâs grin is easy, nodding. He gets it. He gets you. So he leans down again and pulls you in by the waist, fingers curling in the hem of your t-shirt as he tugs you toward him. The motion makes you gasp and he takes the chance to turn the kiss from sweet to carnal, tongue sweeping into your mouth.
Seokjin kisses you slowly, tongue curious and gentle. Your head spins as you kiss him and you can barely breathe, so full of him and thoughts of him and the taste of him that you grip him tight, desperate not to fall over.Â
The irritation from him waking you up is long forgotten as he tugs you closer. Your hips press against his, mouths sliding, a mix of gentle smacks, spit, and gasps for air. A buzz tingles through you as you nudge Seokjin toward his bed and he responds immediately, backing up and pulling you with him.
When the back of his legs hit the bed, he falls backward. The two of you become a tangled pile of limbs and kisses and giggles, but you find your place as you slot your knees on either side of his narrow waist, palms flat against his chest and the steady beating of his heart.Â
There are stars in his eyes when he looks up at you. For a second, you just look at one another, his hands rubbing up and down your thighs and his eyes locked on your face. His lips and face are rouge, hair messy. You grin and lean down, pressing your lips against him again.Â
Kissing Seokjin is invigorating. You canât help but let little noises slip from your mouth. His fingers press into your thighs, dimpling the flesh as he groans, hips twitching upward for friction. The bulge through his sweatpants makes you squeak and you break the kiss, wiggling your hips down to press against his clothed cock.
âUgh,â he moans, eyes fluttering shut and head pressing back into his mattress. âDonât do that. Iâm so fucking hard.âÂ
âDo you want some help with that?â
His gaze softens and his thumbs slide back and forth on your thighs, caressing gently. âI want whatever you want. Nothing, everything, something. Whatever youâre comfortable with.â
âWell right now⌠I really want to suck you off.âÂ
âOh yeah?â
âUh huh.âÂ
Without breaking eye contact, you drop and slide your hand from where it presses against his chest downward. His abs twitch under your hand as you dance along his over-warm skin. His breathing has turned faint and breathy, body nearly trembling as you brush your fingers along the trail of hair leading into his sweatpants.
Watching him is hypnotizing. Seokjinâs lips part slightly as you slide your hand underneath the elastic, brows shooting up when you brush the sticky tip of his cock.Â
âNo underwear?â
âTheyâre - nggg - restricting.âÂ
His shaft is long and smooth, your fingers brushing along the underside, tracing a vein. Youâre impressed by the sheer size of his dick, wondering if youâre going to manage to not choke, but the sound he lets you when you wrap your fingers around him and grip him tight erases the apprehension.Â
âYou sound so good like that,â you breathe, giving a loose-fisted stroke toward the crown, beaded with precum. âAlso you have a sizeable dick.â
âSizeable, huh?â You brush your thumb over the tip, nail gliding over his leaking slit and he lets out a loud moan, making you grin. âTake it out and see how fucking sizeable it is, hmm?â
Itâs hard to take him seriously with how ridiculous he sounds, but you slide down the bed, gently getting onto your knees. Using both hands, you tug at his sweatpants, looking up at him through fluttered lashes.Â
And⌠suddenly itâs not a joke anymore. Your mouth waters a bit at the side, his tip swollen and needy. His thick, and you know how good it would feel to just sink down on top of his length, filling up the throb that aches between your legs.Â
Pressing your palms firmly into his thighs, you lift yourself up, dipping low to run your tongue along the thick vein that runs up the bottom of his shaft. He lets out a sinful growl, hands fisting the sheet and gasping as you watch him struggle.Â
At the tip, you slid a hand up, gripping him firmly as you suckle the dark, swollen flesh into your mouth. His precum is salty on your tongue and you hum, eyes fixed on the rapid rise and fall of his chest and the blush blossoming from his neck to his pecs.Â
Seokjin is beautiful under the assault of your mouth.Â
Suckling gently, you watch his reaction as your tongue lazily circles around the sensitive tip of his cock. His hips wiggle back and forth but he never bucks up into your mouth, never thrusts deeper than youâre willing to go.Â
âPlease,â he whispers and it comes out as an almost whine. âMore.âÂ
You give him more, gently sinking your mouth down on him. Itâs a stretch but you manage, careful to mind your breathing as you bob gently, hollowing your cheeks for added suction. Expletive-laced moans drip from his mouth, his eyes squeeze shut as you continue to suck gently.Â
Drool runs out the sides of your mouth. You let it, the stickiness of your spit and his presume slicking down his cock helps you take more of him in his mouth. When his tip brushes the back of your throat, he nearly growls, fully writhing underneath you now.
Seeing him like this is addicting, worked up and sweating, and falling apart. What you canât fit in your mouth you grip with your hand, mouth, and fingers stroking together in time to work him up. Your mouth buzzes around him in a self-satisfied hum.Â
Seokjin canât help himself. His hands leave the sheets, one hand going to the back of your head, fingers pressed firmly. He doesnât push or pull, his grip just firm and begging. The sound as you let him thrust a little is sinful and wet, the cough-choke of your throat accompanied by stilted curses.Â
Suddenly, he pulls you up. Cum-mixed spit dribbles down your chin, mouth feeling stretched and swollen as you look up at him. His sweats are around his ankles, abs and thighs flexing as he leans forward, urging you upward.Â
Your mouths meet in a heated smack of cum and spit and moans and teeth. Your mind is spinning as he cups your face fiercely, pulling you to your feet and up onto his naked waist. His hands pull at your shirt and you yank it fiercely, breaking your messy kiss just to toss it.Â
Seokjinâs hands are warm and starving for you and vicious as he pulls your bralette off, adding it to the messy pile in his room. Steady hands cup your breasts, his eyes glittering as he makes a noise. âFuck,â he mutters. âCome here.â
You fall forward but his hands steady you, lifting his head to catch a nipple with his mouth. It sets you alight, electricity snapping to life from the motion. You moan, head thrown back, eyes rolling as he nipples lightly on your nipple.Â
âFuck,â you squeak. The heat between your legs hurts, your cunting throbbing for him. âThat feels so good.â
He hums, letting go of the hardened peak with a gentle scrape of his teeth, moving his mouth to lavish your other breast. His thumb brushes back and forth over the glossy peak, keeping it stimulated.Â
You tremble in his grip, seated in his lap as he places luscious sucks across your chest.Â
âYouâre beautiful.â Seokjinâs words are mumbled in damp kisses against your collarbone. âYouâre smart and sweet and generous and stunning.âÂ
âYouâre beautiful,â you answer. It feels stupid to say, but itâs the only thing you can come up with. Everything feels fuzzy and youâre drowning in the praise. âWhy is your discord WorldWideHandsomJin?â
âShut up.â He rolls the two of you over, a whirlwind of limbs and giggles. âCause I wanted it to be, and itâs true.âÂ
âIt is,â you agreed, gasping as he slides his hand into your pajama shorts. His fingers brush over your damp panties, and he huffs a laugh when he feels how sticky wet you are. âMore.âÂ
He hums and applies more pressure, but it doesnât relieve the ache. âNo,â you whine, clawing his chest. âPlease.âÂ
âBecause you said please.â
With a swift hand, he pulls your shorts and underwear down. You donât have time to shiver at the cool air of his room hitting your pussy, his fingers brushing up and down. âGod,â he groans, dropping his head against the side of your neck. âYouâre soaked, baby.âÂ
Pleasure sparks as he thumbs your clit in gentle circles. You feel arousal flood the pit of your stomach, cunt aching and leaking as he slides a finger up and down, applying pressure to your hole before gently sliding into your cunt.Â
Itâs not enough. You get breathy all the same, the feel of his finger stroking your front wall making the world around you melt. Your limbs feel heavy and you shut your eyes, feeling the way he strokes your g-spot over and over again.Â
âAnother,â you gasp, hips bucking upward. âPlease, more.â
âYeah?â he asks. âGreedy pussy needs more?â
His filth makes your mouth pop open. He complies, though, sliding in another finger and fucking into you properly. He lets you roll your hips upward, trying to ride his hand as you chase the feeling in your stomach.Â
It feels like you canât get enough air, heat trapped between your bodies, static sticking to your skin. Seokjin feels like heaven and fucking hell, skin sticky where your bodies touch, thrumming with energy.Â
And itâs so much - almost too much. You want him closer, want to be fuller, want the snap of his hips. You dig your fingers into his biceps, mouth brushing against his, words mumbled between pressed lips, âPlease.âÂ
With a slick sound, he pulls his fingers from you. Immediately you miss the feeling, but youâre rewarded as he brings shine-slicked fingers up to his lips, sucking them into his mouth. He leers around his fingers, eyes dark.Â
âYum,â he whispers, bending down and licking into your mouth, letting you taste yourself on his lips.Â
For a quick moment, he fumbles in his nightstand, pulling out a condom and breaking the foil with a soft crinkle. Heâs painted a soft blue in the lights of his room, the changing colors making him a mirage of neons and soft colors, a haunting and stunning creature all at once.Â
Seokjin shuffles you carefully up the bed, peppering your skin with kisses as he goes. Reverent hands stretch your legs wide open for him as he slots himself against you, giving shallow thrusts so that his cock slides against your messy fold. You whine, needed more stimulation, needing to feel full to relieve the ache.Â
Grabbing the base of his cock, he strokes upwards again, letting his cockhead catch on your trembling hole. A stream of expletives falls from your lips as your head falls backward, your entire frame vibrating as he slowly slides in. Youâre so wet that it helps, but the thick girth of him burns all the way until he is fully sheathed and your walls are fluttering around him.
âShit, youâre fucking squeezing me.â
âCause your cock is fucking big!â
âAm I supposed to apologize?â
âNo, but please fuck me.â
You need the slide of his shaft against your walls, need to feel the way he hits so deep itâs like heâs in your fucking stomach. Seokjin starts a slow but purposeful pace, pulling all the way out before pushing back in, sliding his hands under your as to lift you slightly. The angle allows him to fuck your spot as he thrusts in, your limbs going slack as the feeling of an orgasm winds from just a few strokes.Â
Seokjin fucks you with purpose, stroking a little faster. Sweat beads on his chest, hair clinging to his forehead as he bites his bottom lip, stomach flexing. You watch him through half-lidded eyes, your fingers wrapped around his wrist where he holds you, practically pulling you onto his cock as he fucks you open.Â
Itâs mind-numbing, everything else fading away as his room swirls in colors, punctuated by the snap of his hips against your wet ass and your high-pitched moans.Â
You wish you could be more of a participant, but the way he makes you feel has the room spinning. He fucks you down into the mattress, the slide of your skin against his sheets added friction. Your head hits a pillow, knocking it sideways, your hand trying to find a grip on anything. It finds the wall and you press against it, feeling the squeeze of your breath in your lungs and the coil in your stomach.Â
âThat's it,â Seokjin urges, one hand leaving your ass to slip between your legs. He circles your clit and your eyes roll back in your head, the roaring feeling of your orgasm coming closer and closer. âFuck your feel so fucking good - you look so fucking good just taking my cock like this.â He is the vision you think. Brow furrowed, lip tucked between his teeth, all tan, flushed skin and twitching muscles. You can't remember the last time you were fucked into mindlessness, no chance of cognitive thinking at your fingertips. The filth that leaves his mouth only sends you spiraling further, admiration-laced curses punctuated with moans.
You can only moan back in response, most of the sound stuck in your throat. You think youâre babbling now, mouth agape, eyes squeezed so shut that colors explode across your vision. He fucks you hard but at a medium pace, each thrust supported with his full weight, hitting so deep that you canât breathe.
When you cum, itâs like a freight train hits you, the world going absolute white noise and numb. You lose yourself in the feeling, everywhere and nowhere all at once. Youâre aware of the way your pussy pulses around his cock and through the buzz in your ears, you hear him curse, gasping your name as he cums just as hard.Â
You have no idea how long it takes for you to come back down. You barely feel your limbs, the tingle in them like when your foot falls asleep but far more pleasant. You roll your head over to find Seokjin breathing deeply, skin glowing with sweat. His eyes flutter open as you stare at him and he grins, tired but genuine. Your stomach leaps.Â
âI swear,â he mumbles. âNext time I will last way longer than that. But fuck.â
âI donât think Iâve ever cum that hard,â you admit, voice hoarse. âI think that is why they call it le petite mort. Holy shit.âÂ
He laughs and he pulls you in. With the shift of your limbs, you feel how sticky and wet your legs are, thighs pressed together in the mess. You make a face at the feeling, no longer finding it attractive now that youâre not actively fucking, but he kisses you and you immediately forget about it.Â
âBy the way,â he mutters, voice deep. âI won the bet so you owe me a favor.â
You grit your teeth, realizing that he did win by a single kill. âFine. Whatâs your favor?â
âNot much, just want to take you out somewhere nice. Buy you a beautiful dinner. Learn all of your embarrassing stories from middle school and if you had an emo phase.â
âDid you have an emo phase?âÂ
âYouâll only find out if we go on a date.â
You smile. Your mouth hurts from the kissing and the stretch of his dick, but it doesnât matter. You brush the sweaty hair from his face, his eyes fixed on your reaction. âOf course, Iâll go on a date with you.âÂ
âHmm. Good. Now come on, I wanna fuck you in the shower.âÂ
âThat I can agree with.âÂ
Honor Bound is in copyedit!
Iâm delighted to let you know that Iâve sent the full draft of Honor Bound to my editor Abby!
Play Chapters 1-3 of Honor Bound here, and read all about the game here.
More about the testing and revision process, and wordcounts after beta testing, below:
Beta testing started in mid-August and since then Iâve added around 50,000 words to the game. Some of this was expanding things throughout the game, and most of it was expanding the epilogue sequence to include LOTS more detail about where the PC is living at the end, their career choices, who theyâre living with if anyone, letters from friends and loved ones if theyâre living in different places, and rundowns of what major characters are up to if the PCâs living in the same town/location as them but not living in the same house.
That whole section ended up incredibly branchy and complicated, but Iâm really proud of it - I think it caps off the game nicely. Yesterday I played through several of the ending scenes and felt really good about them, which is a nice feeling to have.
Honor Bound is now going to copyedit, and itâs looking like the release should be somewhere in early December, depending how long the copyediting takes. Copyediting is certainly a big job, because right now the game stats are:
Total wordcount:Â 592898 words Average playthrough:Â 98553 words
So each playthrough sees about 16% of whatâs there, which means a ton of variety from playthrough to playthrough⌠and thereâs a huge amount there to see even on one playthrough.
Iâm incredibly grateful to all the testers from start to finish and everyone who has cheerled, supported, and given feedback thatâs helped get this game into shape. I massively appreciate everyone here who subscribed which gave me a real helping hand, and who gave feedback on early versions of the drafts.
Iâve learned a huge amount from making this project, and have stretched out of my comfort zone in a variety of ways. Itâs interesting seeing what writing-process-mistakes I didnât do because of learning from Royal Affairs, and where I committed whole new coding crimes. (Next project, I am going to go easier on the nested *gosubs so itâs easier to troubleshoot and read. I am sure I will do something else that makes the code horrid to read.)
Itâs the largest and most ambitious of my CoG games, and Iâm proud of how the plotâs paced and pulls together. Iâm incredibly fond of the characters - even if I put them through horrible things. It was so different writing characters who were older and more mature in various ways than the teenagers in Creme and Royal Affairs (and the young adults in Noblesse Oblige, who are all going through⌠a lot), but still with plenty of flaws, foibles, and hangups. I was delighted when characters surprised me, as well as when I could feel âoh, this is classic [character]â and their dialogue came naturally. There are some personality nuances that Iâm not sure anyone will end up noticing, but felt lovely to put in because I had such a strong sense of who the characters were.
Iâm also really pleased with how much Iâve personalised the PCâs dialogue and internal voice. When the PC speaks in the text (and often in the dialogue options), their tone and vibe is almost always informed by how their personality has been expressed by the player, which works with the choices the playerâs making to make the PC feel their own. I really wanted to make the PC feel like an adult whoâs gone through Some Major Stuff and is in a position of figuring out their principles and purpose because of it: there are a ton of different ways in which they can respond to whatâs happened to them and to what happens throughout the game.
Iâve really loved exploring a new part of the Creme de la Creme setting and show such a different culture to Westerlin. I hope you all enjoy Honor Bound once itâs out!
(and⌠please wishlist on Steam if you havenât already - it really helps!)
Hey just wanted to say that the work you do is really inspiring. I think the TTRPG community has needed an urban fantasy noir sort of thing for a little while and I really like the direction you're taking it in. Looking forward to stuff in the future!!
Thank you! Basically all our projects come from a place of need, each one being something that we wanted to play ourselves, but either it just didnât exist, or the people who did do it didnât do it to our satisfaction.
Since itâs our blog we can toot our own horn a bit, and yeah, the TTRPG community did need Eureka. The whole idea originally came out of our dissatisfaction with investigation and mystery-solving gameplay in most of the other more well-known TTRPGs that attempt to tackle this genre, such as Call of Cthulhu, Delta Green, and Gumshoe. They either make it too easy for bad dice rolls to get the party hopelessly stuck by relying too heavily of the PCâs skills, or make things difficult on the player by not giving the PCâs skills quite enough input, which can make efficient mystery solving very difficult across sessions with a whole week or more of real time in between them. (And itâs barely even worth mentioning that the most popular TTRPGs such as D&D5e and Pathfinder just plain cannot do investigative gameplay to any respectable degree at all.)
Eureka: Investigative Urban Fantasyâs Investigation Point and Eureka! Point system, whereby each skill check to investigate something fills a bar on the character sheet until the investigator gets a âEureka!â, which can be spent to retroactively gain information from an investigation skill check that they previously failed, as well as many other specific rules that are too nuanced to go into here but that you can read about in the free version of the rulebook, are part of our answer to that. As you are putting the pieces together in your own mind, so is your character, and this system acts as a failsafe, but not a crutch, to prevent a single bad dice roll from leaving the party totally twisting in the wind.
And I personally have always been really autistic about folklore, which is where Eurekaâs unique approach to playable monsters comes in. No RPG had ever really done certain monsters to my satisfaction, particularly vampires. Folkloric vampires have a great deal of quirks and weaknesses that usually get cut from any sort of vampire media because theyâre too âsilly,â but I disagree. I want them all, and so when a monster is playable in Eureka, itâs its own unique experience, unlike playing anything else in any other game or even within Eureka. (I am very, very proud to say that a number of V:TM veterans have said that Eureka does vampires much better than V:TM itself.)
Not every playable monster in Eureka is 100% strictly folkloric, which was a bit of a struggle for me, but ultimately the small exceptions that were made make the RPG better, so I canât complain, especially because we managed to weave some pretty cool themes into all of them, which I will touch on more when I finally get finished writing that big huge post about, well, Eurekaâs themes.
Eureka: Investigative Urban Fantasy is kickstarting from right now until May 10th! Back it while you still can!
If you want to try before you buy, you can download a free demo of the prerelease version from our website or our itch.io page!
If youâre interested in a more updated and improved version of Eureka: Investigative Urban Fantasy than the free demo you got from our website, subscribe to our Patreon where we frequently roll our new updates for the prerelease version!
You can also support us on Ko-fi, or by checking out our merchandise!
Join our TTRPG Book Club At the time of writng this, Eureka: Investigative Urban Fantasy is the current game being played in the book club, and anyone who wants to participate in discussion, but canât afford to make a contribution, will be given the most updated prerelease version for free! Plus itâs just a great place to discuss and play new TTRPGs you might not be able to otherwise!
We hope to see you there, and that you will help our dreams come true and launch our careers as indie TTRPG developers with a bang by getting us to our base goal and blowing those stretch goals out of the water, and fight back against WotC's monopoly on the entire hobby. Wish us luck.
I got to say, I love your take on PokĂŠmon legend Arceus so far. You certainly didn't pull your punches with that one! The game alone has a bunch of potential for angst, and I can't wait to see what you cook. Anyways, remember to stretch and stay hydrated and as always, Have a good day prof!
I'm doing a more adult take, seeing as a lot of fans arent kids anymore! Im glad youre liking it, the themes will be more complex and mature in nature, but i hope to still weave in pokemon facts in every chapter, even if theyre in passing comments, seeing as Peach is babysitting the PC (Rei) who doesnt know as much, its an opportunity for her to teach, even if its somewhat reluctant at the start. I am finally free of ridiculous deadlines and stress, the planning for chapter 2 is finished, and i can start to refine and change up camera angles, shot layouts and the flow of this all. Sadly i am going to be seperated from my tablet for a month or two max so i'll be working slow, but as soon as my move across the world is done, ill be reunited with my tablet and can smash out pages! Im not going to lie, im frustrated about the wait, its ready to go and i cant get stuck in haha! But so be it, i have to accept i cant do comic work for a short while and then get stuck in on nothing else that end. I feel awful with the delays, I want to bring you all this story! It reveals a lot of peachs past, who she is, her family, and expands on the pokemon world, shows so much more to species often overlooked, and makes an ok game the base for (hopefully) a compelling story about someone who gets broken down so far, and built back twice as strong.
I struggle to not gush about it all the time to be honest with you! hahaha it's my precious passion project, and ive poured years into the planning of this, to hand it out freely and hope others enjoy as much as i have. I hope i dont let you all down!
I finally finished them! I finished the 2024 jsab spring wallpapers!! YAY!! :3
Now.. I wanted to finish the wallpaper on the 1st, but it was my birthday and I mostly just sat around all day doing nothing.. ye.. sorry about that :(
It's took so many time and i'm so tired.. It's 3 at the morning well, it's almost 4 am now and I've to get up really early and I actually never done such huge projects before. It was twice as difficult as my summer 2023 wallpaper!! (Iâm generally silent about winter ones, it was huge laziness)
I'm emotional because it was so much fun working on all these animals and flowers. I surfed the internet and tried to paint the birds natural colors, which was also a lot of fun. In theory, there should have been butterflies here, but I was really too tired to work with them as well.
I must say this is the official version. There will be another one and I'm going to make it for my friends and... Several of my favorite artists.
Kumix, if you're reading this, your character will also be present in the second version hehe))
Oh yes, as usual...
You can use my works as wallpaper. But. If you want to repost my work on any platform (Twitter, Instagram, etc.), please indicate me as the author. Thank you!
And since the majority voted FOR me to make a version for PC too, here it is
And the phone versions
Well, thatâs all
first post, enjoy!
you and heeseung share a pc in your apartment, and take shifts using it, because why wouldn't he let the love of his life use his most prized possession?
anyways, one day he comes back from practice with the boys late at night. and he sees you asleep at his desk with the faint glowing of the pc's screen illuminating your face, wrapped in one of his jackets!! he's like, wow, look, it's my adorable girlfriend!! she looks so angelic!!
so being the loving boyfriend he is he picks you up and puts you to bed with a smile, before running off to the shower to go freshen up.
after, when he comes back to your shared room, he takes a good few seconds to stare at his pc, and decides its a great time to hop on fort (me fr). who cares if its already 2 am?
and so he sits down in his gaming chair and clicks his mouse, the dim light of the pc screen brightening as a reaction to the sudden activity.
he's a bit slow because he's pretty tired, but after processing the black screen that is surely not fortnite's loading screen, rather lines of code, a small little smile of pride makes its way onto his face. he's so proud of you. he always will be.
his darling little dove, writing her own code! you've always been into coding, so he's ecstatic to have been able to come across the project.
now, heeseung is slightly educated in this field. listening to your little rambles about coding did teach him some important things after all. he goes through the code trying to figure out what you could be programming, before he realizes he can just check the project name! he seems to be getting slower by the minute, poor bby :(
and the title? "making a game for hee!"
his heart quite literally melts in that moment. it's an honor to have your hard work dedicated to him. he's always found your little hobby of coding endearing.
and what's even more adorable? the fact the the project dedicated to him is a game. you know he loves gaming, it's what he enjoys doing in the little downtime he gets, aside from doing things with you. even when he games, he finds a way to get you involved, like playing the game with him, or even just having you in his lap, the warmth emitting from you bringing him comfort he wishes he could spend all day feeling.
after a few seconds of falling in love all over again, all while staring at your sleeping figure on the bed, he decides to get some victory royals in, playing as quietly as possible to insure you don't wake up.
the next morning? he doesn't even mention it. the sweetheart realizes you probably want to surprise him with it, but he secretly checks your progress every night when he's sure you're soundly asleep.
and the day you drag him to the chair, tell him to cover his eyes, and surprise him with the game? his surprise is genuine. now heeseung was smart, yes, but he wasn't educated enough on the topic of coding to figure out how to run the program. he was already proud just by seeing your progress, the new lines of code being added to the project every night.
he plays that thing for hours. time for his weekly gaming session? you bet he's hopping on your game instead of fort. he's dedicated, and he wouldn't have it any other way.
once he finishes playing, he'll be begging you for another addition to the "dedicated to hee" series. you're so talented, could you blame the guy for wanting to play your games?
you'd never know how he's secretly so proud of you, how you're his pride and joy. how he brags to his friends, "yeah, my girlfriend codes games in her free time! she works so hard at her job and then makes games for me, she's my hardworking angel!"
if you did find out one day... he'd be shy for a couple of minutes, before stepping up and owning it. "well yeah, what'd you expect baby? you think your amazing skills would go unnoticed by my sharp eyesight?"
this is where you remind him that he actually wears glasses (he's amazingly attractive in them).
"they just help make my vision even better. that's how i found you... this!!" and he just pulls out the pastries you've been craving for months ever since your vacation to france.
and you're just like. baby??? where'd you get these??? i thought we could only find these in france??? and he's just like, told you, my vision's great.
you'll never find out where he got them from <3
Writer Interview Tag
I was tagged by @redroomroaving and once I'd finished feeling about a hundred emotions from reading I managed to follow it up.
I definitely got a little personal as well, and I know Iâm prone to rambling so Iâll pop the questions and answers below the cut. A mild CW for discussion of physical pain and some very very light mentions of mental health. Tagging @morb-untamed @sweetmage @dmbakura @hydropyro @ineadhyn @nicocoer @wixed to do this if you would like to, but there is absolutely no pressure to talk about yourselves or in any personal detail. And anyone else reading this who I missed tagging (I forget names and tags so often, forgive me) please feel free to use me as your tag-in and let me know so I can read your answers too.
When did you start writing?
I have no idea, truly. Stories and reading were a big part of my life since before I could read, and as soon as I could read independently I devoured books and imagined stories in quiet moments. There are a few things Iâve worked on under another name, another identity, but no massive published works. A couple of unfinished SFW fanfics, and some larger original projects that remain on hiatus. As for writing smut and spice and taking fanfic more seriously? That all started in September 2023, and has just grown from there. I was hesitant at first, and youâll see that in my early author notes, but from there I feel Iâve truly grown in my style and skill, as well as my creativity and ability to delve into character details and kink alike.
Are there different themes or genres you enjoy reading than what you write?
Since writing more, Iâve become a terrible reader. I canât really focus on it for long because my brain goes into ADHD rebellion and says âno, no, we donât want to read story we want to create storyâ which is endlessly frustrating when I have stacks of unread books and a ton of fics earmarked by very talented authors. I will say there is a particular thing many may notice in my works â when writing, I very rarely refer to genitalia in direct terms. Itâs just a personal preference when writing, you wonât find the word âcockâ in any of my works, but contrary to how it might sound I have absolutely no issue with reading it in the works of others. I am an odd creature, I freely admit that. SoâŚyes, there are themes, pairings, styles, and vocabulary features that I enjoy reading but do not write myself.
Is there a writer you want to emulate or get compared to often?
I donât hear comparisons really, and I donât aim to emulate anyone either, though I will admit I try to keep just a few little moments of humour or sly winks to the audience in similar ways to Terry Pratchett and Douglas Adams. Just those quick lines or cutaways that for a moment join reader and author in a little shared joke.
Can you tell me a bit about your writing space?
I can only really write comfortably in one place, at my PC. I have 3 screens set up around my seat, which is actually the end seat of a reclining sofa, so I have a heated pad behind my back to reduce pain. I have a mini fridge with drinks on the table beside me with the side screen that has Discord on it at all times, my larger screen (the TV) sometimes has character images for reference or notes or just Spotify up so I can swap songs and playlists quickly. The last screen is in front of me on a table that goes over my footrest, and my keyboard is on a lap desk over my legs.Â
Iâll almost always have my headphones on, and a small fan when it gets too warm. Sometimes I do end up a little chaotic with snacks in reach and meds also on the table so I donât have to have anyone fetch them for me.
What's your most effective way to muster up a muse?
It canât be controlled. The muse is as fickle as it is demanding, when itâs there it wants everything all at once, and when itâs gone?... It leaves a devastating emptiness that honestly I struggle with at times. Even right now, tonight I planned to write, but when I finally got the free time and got set upâŚnothing feels appealing to try. So Iâm doing this instead, and not forcing it.Â
There are things I try at times, and things I recommend, too. First? Before you start writing, tend to your basic needs. Do you need a drink? Food? Relevant medication? A nap? A talk with a friend? A bit of fresh air or physical movement? If one of these needs hasnât been met, itâll likely soon become an obstacle to your writing. I like to have a drink and snack ready and with me when I start so itâs there as and when I might need it, and I do rely on caffeine like a stereotypically unmedicated ADHD authorâŚ
Second, set the mood. It can help for some people to have this routine, to get their playlist going, to be in the right place, to have the things that set a whole zone and bubble. For a while, I had a specific hat I would wear when writing for another project. I could tell myself âI am putting the hat on now, so I will focus and do this thingâ and in some way it trained me to write more. I know others who have done things like always listening to a specific genre of music to write, so now when they hear that genre they get the urge to write. Third is take a shower. Nothing gives me more ideas than a good shower, and I even bought a waterproof notepad and pencil set so I can make those notes whilst in there and not fret about forgetting an idea. Other than that, I recommend going back to the thing that inspired you to write. Play the game or watch scenes with the characters you want to write about, find their voices and mindsets. You can also close your eyes and imagine the scene like a play â put the characters on your stage at the start of the scene and watch what they do in the scenario. Let them show you how they react. Some people also do well to write out a plan or bulletpoints, but I find personally this can bite me in the ass because the process of writing can often stray from my original plan. Which isnât a bad thing, but it can feel frustrating that I didnât use ideas that I was initially passionate about.
Are there any recurring themes in your writing? Do they surprise you?
Ah here it is. Whilst I could go quite simply with the kinks that I keep utilising that donât surprise me in the slightest â I know well that I enjoy writing a spicy shifting of power balance between strong-minded characters, as well as a lot of BDSM kink â there are deeper parts to this. Identity. Thatâs a theme that keeps rearing its head beneath a lot of works, and youâll find it most noticeable in how I write both Haarlep and He Who Was, but it tends to worm its way into other things too. ItâŚdid not surprise me, though, because itâs something I have struggled with over this past year within myself.
I created this name, this identity, as a way to be comfortable in sharing kink fiction and spicy works without it being easily identifiable under my actual name. I still donât like to be too personal, or share my face or real name under this one, because I would rather keep a few close friends and family out of sight of my fandom thirsting. Iâm certain a lot of us are the same â it isnât really about shame but knowing that I, and they, would likely not be comfortable discussing this level of subject matter. Iâve relaxed a little over time, and have no doubt that a few may have worked out who I am and simply kept it quiet which I appreciate endlessly, just as I appreciate that those who do know both of my identities have never shared that information or made it public. Iâm happy to meet people in person, just not to have my self online shared with my other self, as Iâm sure you can understand. Anyway, I digressâŚ
Something that the keen-eyed accomplice might have noticed in me is a shift in my speech. I used a few more mannerisms and speech patterns, particularly terms of endearment, under this name when I began. It was a way to separate the self, as well as to engage with a different audience in a different way. I explained it to the few who knew both early on as âsame person, different fontâ, because I donât change who I am just a few parts of how I speak or interactâŚbut Iâve dropped a lot of the endearments now. Partly because there were more than a few who expressed they were uncomfortable with this in conversation â which I fully respect and understand â so it was easier to just drop them entirely rather than double checking or switching vocabulary between people and servers. But it has also fallen away a little as I have become more comfortable with both sides of myself, allowing them to integrate again more, and I owe a good amount of that to being able to meet fandom friends in person and find that they didnât turn away from knowing all of me and instead have become even better friends.Â
SoâŚyes, the theme of names and identity keeps popping up. The power of names, the importance of identity, how one can hold on to oneâs sense of self when it feels as if it is wavering, or when a role must be played. Itâs little wonder I was so strongly drawn to so many favourites. Another recurring theme, of course, is pain. Physical. Whilst this is often in the form of kink and pain play, Iâve written a few pieces where it has been a point that is not about the sexual and positive side. I am in pain. 24/7. Without end. It will not get better. It has been this way for over 10 years. The level of the pain is âI cannot walk more than 10 metres before it is too muchâ, and âI have to drastically reduce and monitor my physical activity to prevent pain getting worseâ, so I feel very intimately familiar with pain. Youâll find it in my writing as visceral and detailed descriptions of the sensations, because Iâve felt every one of them and might just be feeling them in that moment as I write.Â
Iâm going to keep trying to write short comfort pieces, too. Because as I once wrote as a dialogue line for Halsin, when Tav asked how he always seemed to know the right thing to say:Â Â
âSometimes we say the things we need to hear the most.âÂ
What is your reason for writing?
Every reason ever. ThereâsâŚnot a lot I can do in this body. So many hopes and dreams and even careers Iâve had to leave behind, through the struggles of mental and physical health. Whilst the former is far better, the latter is the issue⌠But writing is something I can do with little physical effort. If Iâm in pain, I can take my medication and absorb into fiction.Â
I started writing smut as a challenge, but also as a way to tell a story I was becoming rather attached to. My main longfic was one born from playing the game, and wondering about telling the story between the lines, giving reason to the choice the player character was making under my instruction. Since then, it has grown to be so much more.
Iâd love to sit here and tell you âI only write for myself, I donât need external validationâ but thatâŚwould be a half-truth at best. I write because I love sharing these stories, I love that they can reach out and touch hearts and minds in ways I might never know, but I adore when someone does send back their echo across the vast void between us to say âI enjoyed thisâ or âthis story made me feel somethingâ. ThatâsâŚitâs everything to know I have some value. Which sounds a lot like Iâm pinning my self-worth on feedback or kudos, and whilst I canât deny thatâs a hard habit to break, I do know it isnât everything. I just want it to still be something. To know I can do more than justâŚexist.Â
Truly if you were to ask me what I feel the purpose is to my entire life, it would be âto leave each corner of the world I touch a little brighter and better than it was before I got thereâ, and whilst I know thatâs impossible to do all the time I still want to try. And writing? Sharing stories? Thatâs leaving a positive mark, giving someone enjoyment in their day â yes, even sexually, with the kinky and sexy writing. That is still a positive to someoneâs day, an indulgence, something that lifts them and certainly nothing to be ashamed of.
If I can do more than that with emotional writing, with comfort pieces, with cathartic moments and with stories that have more meaning behind the wordsâŚall the better.
Is there any specific comment or type of comment you find particularly motivating?
The best are the ones that pull out favourite lines or moments, but honestly every single comment means the world to me. An incoherent keysmash, a simple âI loved thisâ, even those are such a boost particularly on a hard day.Â
Readers, please know how much it helps. Even a click on the kudos as an anonymous guest, itâsâŚit lets us know we arenât just shouting into the void. It tells us those Hits are not people just opening up the fic then closing it because they hated it. It means the whole world to know weâve done something that you enjoyed, in whatever way that was.
Iâll also say that some of the ones that have meant the most and have stuck with me are comments on the more personal pieces, like with The Love of Loviatar â the Abdirak x Reader fic where I play a little with worlds colliding to allow a reader character who experiences chronic pain (remarkably similar to my own, donât think about that too hard) to have that moment with Abdirak who validates and appreciates them exactly how they are. Gentle care mixed with BDSM, trading the bad pain for the good pain, the pain that is welcome and has purpose, a little fantasy of enjoying what the body can do rather than being trapped by what it cannot⌠Every time I get a comment there, I damn near cry. Or just openly cry. They mean so much. I know how much Abdirak can mean to us, and I am so glad I can reach you all.Â
How do you want to be thought about by your readers?
IâŚwell⌠To be thought of at all is an honour. Iâm shocked any time I encounter someone who has read my works, despite logically knowing I have a good number of readers from the numbers alone. I justâŚdonât look at those numbers often, itâs not good for me.Â
Iâd like readers to know I care about them. Every last one. To know I would love to tell all the stories they want to read, and that I fully welcome their messages, comments, and even friendship when we share social spaces. Thereâs something special about the connections we can make in unexpected places, and Iâm just delighted to be here sharing stories with you all.Â
I donât need high respect, endless adoration, or some kind of pedestal. Iâm a human, unfortunately â squishy and fallible and flawed and suffering and there is still beauty and worth to me even when I donât see it myself. Just saying that last part louder for everyone else who has loud negative thoughts of themselves. Itâs ok for you to see my flaws, and itâs ok for us all to have love for one another despite those flaws. Love in the platonic sense, of course â there are levels of connections we make with people from a distant echo of a brief exchange of words to the direct warmth of a friendship. Itâs as important to not underestimate the value as it is important to not overestimate our closeness to people we donât truly know.
What do you feel is your greatest strength as a writer?
I am beginning to believe it is the wild ideas I have for crackship pairings and turning them into something serious and meaningful. I love taking an unlikely coupling then finding what makes them actually genuinely work.Â
Iâm also getting quite confident in sensual writing as well as kink, in the particular style that I have for it. I know well that it isnât to everyoneâs tastes, but those who do enjoy my style and method will always have something in the buffet of fic to fill their plate.
I really hope to transfer this to my original work when I get it finished, as I feel like just maybe I might have a niche of style that isnât as often seen in published works. Then again, Iâm not exactly devouring raunchy original fiction so perhaps Iâm entirely mistaken and would get ripped to shreds by critics of the genre. Who knows? But I will try to get published when itâs done. I hope a few of you might even read it someday.
When you write, are you influenced by what others might enjoy reading, or do you write purely for yourself, or a mix of both?
Ahh definitely both. I have written characters and pairings Iâm not personally into that much, though sometimes (Yurgir) I have found myself enjoying the character after writing with them. Itâs a fun little quirk, I start writing something thinking âam I into this?â and realise later âoops new kink acquiredâ or âahh ok I see why people like [character] so much now.âÂ
I do really love writing requests or rare pairings/characters that readers havenât seen before or are excited to see more of. I hope to keep doing a mix of that and the characters/pairings that I love most myself. If thereâs something youâd like to see, Iâm more than happy to take suggestions â there are a few kinks, characters, and tropes that I have a hard ânopeâ line on (not kink shaming, just personal comfort levels â I love that you can enjoy those things elsewhere I am just not the chef to cook that dish for you) but otherwise I love wild ideas and writing something that someone explicitly wants to read~
How do you feel about your own writing?
I really struggle with this one, but I think many of us do. I go from feeling confident that people enjoy what Iâve written and that I have this skill to bring worlds and characters to life with mere words on a page, yet other times? I will freely admit some works of mine take longer because I just hit this point where I just cannot tell if itâs any good. I know intellectually that I have the same style, tropes, stories, kinks that people like and enjoy, but as Iâm sat there staring at it Iâm questioning everything because Iâm just not feeling it. That seems pretty natural, I think, that we are the worst critics of our own works because weâve read them so many times or thought far too hard about every word and line⌠But I tend to solve this with an external view. Beta Readers have saved works from near extinction by checking it over, telling me what does need fixing, and reminding me that actually the rest of it is just fine Iâm simply overthinking it all because my mind is struggling with something else like fatigue or pain or just a low kind of day.
So⌠Overall, writing has been a new life for me. Particularly in this last year, trying something new â expanding into NSFW fanfic has found me countless new connections, friends, experiences I wouldnât have had otherwise and a real feeling of accomplishment and validation that just wasnât happening in WIPs that were taking too long and getting no feedback at all.Â
Writing isnât just something I do, itâs inextricably a part of who I am, and in its own way it continues to shape exactly what âwho I amâ can mean.
And I am grateful to every single one of you who has shared this journey with me so far. I cannot wait to see how far we can go together~
I had been using the other Kaidan and extended edition etc for ages but, after looking at your plans, the work, bug fixes and hearing the new VA.....I think I will be switching to your Kaidan version. I am gonna be following your amazing progress and tidying my my load order in due tome for release. I think I read you plan to have him released on xbox also? Thanks for the amazing work on Kaidan and I do appreciate the new Scottish accent he has! While I do enjoy Dan....I feel that some of the new dialogue written for him is very......out of character.
Yes we do plan on releasing Kaidan Revoiced: Community Expansion for Xbox! One of our primary design goals when rebuilding his follower framework was to ensure compatibility between our PC and Xbox releases. While this means our mod will use Kaidan's dialogue menu to change his settings (rather than an MCM), it also means that Xbox users will get to use KR:CE with all of its features intact. We're pretty much done with the rebuild and have just been testing a few quests here and there, as well as checking different popular mods for incompatibilities. Our budget surplus Fun(ds) initiative is wrapping up in about five days -- go vote if you haven't! -- & then it's a race to the finish line to create, review, commission & implement the last 600 or so lines. Thank you so much for your interest in our project! We're super excited to get it into everyone's hands this upcoming May!
Thaks for the tag @damadisangue! Lesse:
When did you start writing?
I remeber as a lil tentacle in human 3rd grade writing this meandering, long, just where was this boat going like 25+ page story for English class and just had a ball in making up the story. I didn't care that the story was a hot mess, I unknowingly realized I liked lore building. But, I realized that after I wrote it one, I went way over what the class wanted cause of my overachieving tentacle tendency and two, that I hated editing, grammar and all the boring English stuff. I didn't try to write a story again till many years later and realized the story itch had come back to me.
Are there different themes or genres you enjoy reading than what you write?
I actually, genuinely like slice-of-life and very inspirational/good vibes type of stories. But I simply like writing drama and assholes too much to write that sort of stuff often.
Is there a writer you want to emulate or get compared to often?
My writing style recently got compared to the book House of Leaves. I need to read this but considering the few pages I've seen, I'm honored and can see the comparison at points.
Can you tell me a bit about your writing space?
My big black desk with a standing desk attachment to force my tendriled self to get up, covered in paper that sometimes gets neatened only to get it ruined again due to time or my cat familar. Headset, dual monitors, pc w normal tentacle ergonomic peripherals, crystals, eldritch symbols covered in dark purple black ichor. Normal desk set up.
What's your most effective way to muster up a muse?
Do a ritual seance with burnt wormwood and channel into Nemesis' headspace. Find myself mentally projecting on the 56th astral plane with spoitify playing something dank and bizarre to mortal ears and chant ioioioioioio-
Are there any recurring themes in your writing? Do they surprise you?
sheding of human fear sheding of human loss yet knowing such removal only brings more weakness to the fore the loneliness of being the only one the question of faith both internal and external to want is to long to love is to harm until you become one's true self free from greed, from selfish power games and inflicted misery and living in truth not lies strength in finding self not fighting for a control that isn't yours to demand no gods but us no masters but us utter the lies the waking profane io io io
What is your reason for writing?
breathe and become as we only can bring you hope-
How do you want to be thought about by your readers?
- oh and we're back. Sorry, I had a walk about and forgot to finish this. But I hope to be known as a trolly, yet fun author that challenges your sense of taste, and makes you question what is. Though, being known as that fucking persistant Nemesis and Jill shipper is good enough, lol.
What do you feel is your greatest strength as a writer?
Um, I can make up shit on the fly and not need drugs to do so, ig?
How do you feel about your own writing?
Eh, my pre 2010 stuff I think are lame but meaningful as my baby steps as one has to start from somewhere in this dimension?. I think I hit my stride in 2020 when I entered my erie sacrilegious era but so far, I'm pleased that my writing is passable and singularly me.
When you write, are you influenced by what others might enjoy reading, or do you write purely for yourself, or a mix of both?
Pfft I've never given a damn about what is popular in the greater fandom or fleeting reading trends. Readers will get from me stories under my terms as I've had to fight tooth and nail to get to where I'm at and so, this tentacle writes for themself first and foremost and secondarily to entertain. I am a showtentacle at heart after all. I do enjoy when readers read, mind, but love it most when they take this betentacled offering from me and savor it, like really eat into it and see the wormy layers of plot and intricacy I've baked into there. Just envisioning them consuming, ingesting my work, feeling the trailing of my worms down their throat, into their belly to really get what I'm putting down is wonderful. Hoy, my minions! Ouroboros: The first year in development (+small update!)
On this day, a year from now, I sat in the stark light from my monitors, eyes bloodshot and hands trembling; and I clicked the post button. I then choked my pc to death and ran away screaming, scrambling into the corner of the couch on all fours, hissing at every shadow (only one of those statements is a lie).
It was 4 am and I had been scrambling to get the last details of the demo correct, mumbling to myself and reasoning with my dog. I was so happy to be writing again, after years of piddling around with lackluster projects. I never thought Ouro would be welcomed as it was, and to be honest, the fact that it was scared the living shit out of me. After the hype settled, and I sat watching the continuous stream of support that poured my way, I kind of crumbled. There was a long and dirty road of clawing myself out of self-doubt, impostor syndrome and perfectionism. Some part of me knew it was coming, since its very on par with how I am shaped as a person (sopping wet pathetic meow meow), but after climbing many hills on my ongoing healing journey, I felt like I was prepared for it.
Writing Ouroboros went from fun little sidequest to get my mind off becoming a sturdy part of society again (exhausting), to another workload, to form of therapy, then torture and back again. My writing journal is amusing to scroll through:
Things went from bad to...
worse,
until the storm finally weakened. Every entry in my journal from this point gets progressively more hopeful, more resilient against the bad days.
:> This was around the point where I decided I wouldn't give up, come hell or high water. The progress was slow, like bleeding stone and pulling teeth, but it was moving. By the turn of the new year I was battered and bruised, but still hopeful. And I know that this, these emotions that I went through, were way out of proportion for a hobby writing project, but with every ask that came through telling me about your MC's budding journey in Ouro, every gushing emotion you've shared with me, every gleaming piece of art, every kind word; every correcting one, too, this grew to something really precious to me. I wouldn't give it up for anything, even if it feels like I'm barely keeping my head above surface in this terrifying, stormy sea of a life.
I can't wait to see what comes next, even if the road is bumpy. All I know is that I will keep chipping away at this story with everything I got. And all I can say is that I'm so grateful for your continued support and patience, I barely have words for it. You are incredible. Thank you.
Now, enough of my bleeding heart. Get over here! I have some treats to share.
Mainly, it is the little update to the demo that I'd like to share; Idren/Ida's 101. I did my best to finish it today, but I only had an hour or two of effective worktime (excuse: I was outside for most of the day in bloody blizzard and it knocked me on my ass more than I'd like to admit). It is cut off at the different scene transitions, which I will add after I have some time to work on them this saturday. Id's 101 was the most complex out of all of them, so there is still plenty to explore and different outcomes to see. I hope you have fun!
To see it, go through Lena's scene and don't scream -> accept alliance -> visit archives. That will take you to the new content. CW for very emotionally charged arguments and... almost dying.
Play it here. Save often. (or wait until next week as I sadly couldn't finish everything on time for the anniversary) (I have done bare minimum playtesting, but I will fix any gamebreaking errors if there are any, immediately. There shouldn't be any, but you never know.)
A sneakpeek of the short I also will be working on on saturday:
It is sunny on the day of $!{leith}'s funeral. It is not supposed to be sunny. It is supposed to rain on bad days, and the wind is supposed to whip dry leaves into dancing columns. Thunder is supposed to rumble in the distance, and then right near so that the even the windows rattle with trepidation. But it doesn't. The sun lounges calmly on the perfectly still water of Riven's lake, glittering with winking light as the serene waves lick the edge of the populated harbor. There is chatter, too, not the moaning whispers of grieving people. Not a sob to be heard, but the flutter of a laugh and a joyous embrace of lovers right in front of you.Â
"People have forgotten, the sacrifice we made." Lyselin stands in full knight-hunter armor beside you, the silver gleaming in the stark light.
And some art of F!Leith that I have started:
⼠That's it. Know that I'm working as hard as I can (both on Ouro, and learning how to balance work around it, lmao.), even if I fall short sometimes, there ain't no quitting. See you soon!
#ouroboros-if#interactive fiction#And just like a year ago i'm about to throw myself on the couch and rest. maybe enjoy some video james#until next week!! I hope you enjoy stepping all over id's nerves. HEHE#dev log#writers update#wip wednesday#I gotta say that I'm really sorry for not managing to finish everything I wanted to.#one day I'll learn not to bite off more than i can chew. one day. but not today
Women of Xal II Kickstarter: Delayed?
Hey, have you heard of the overly ambitious visual novel titled "Women of Xal" for Steam and Itch.io? (PC/Mac/Linux) Because that plays into why we might need to shelf the series for a few years. Full breakdown under the cut. (No spoilers)
For those who have gotten the True Ending, you should be fully aware that the story is about to vastly expand outside of Xuna's castle. It's a narrative must where everything that happens, happens well outside the scope of the original game in so many ways. And let's talk about scope! Especially if you have no idea what's so staggering about the original Women of Xal visual novel:
600+ optional choices we painstakingly programmed
Branching paths that people are still asking for guides on
A dozen romance options
Poly and gay options that interact with one another
Voice acting from now VERY popular voice actors
A 15 hour story full of mystery, lore, and tense politics
110 track soundtrack
4 Endings
Animations
Thousands of art assets (Bless Cat)
Years of hard work and long nights
No AI Art
100% positive reviews as of this post
Recouped $6000+, or roughly a fraction of the cost of development. After 2+ years of being released
Note that very last bullet point. Doing things for the art and passion is amazing and all, but I can't be investing literal thousands of hours into creating a game for a subset of a subset of a subset of people. I have bigger projects I want to finally get to work on. Ones I really hoped Women of Xal I would help a bit with funding. But it's not. And because of certain facts about the game, it may never be able to do so. To no fault of any of the players.
When I made Women of Xal I, my time was more readily available and I was quite a bit younger. The cost of running a company and creating a game like WoX as the first product hadn't quite hit me. I was also silly enough to believe "if you make it, they will come" to a degree. That part makes me grin in a not fun way.
But these days I have a job that takes me away from creating, but does pay the bills and debts. Debts I don't want to get into again in order to create the sequel that will undoubtedly come with far higher costs due to the game's scope. I have a better understanding of the costs of hiring returning and appropriate talent necessary to create a game better than the last. (I don't personally believe in being satisfied with an intentional steep downgrade.)
Yes there is the Kickstarter option for Women of Xal II, but there are plenty of costs and time investment that makes it an unviable avenue to explore during this point in time. After all, who but the people who sat down and explored everything the first game had to offer would understand how we came up with a $50,000 Kickstarter price tag for a visual novel's sequel? Especially since too many will look at the first Kickstarter and believe we made the first game with only $14,000.
I have thought about giving Women of Xal I a modernized facelift with a smaller Kickstarter, complete with a ton of new features and fun ways to streamline and highlight the narration's strong points, but there's a LOT of baggage that comes with that, including not wanting to go backwards when I still want to create my "pipe dream" projects.
So I'm thinking we'll give it a bit more thought these next few days, and if we can't think of a solution that we haven't already tried, we'll officially announce the delay (and before you suggest your own ideas, know that there's a 99% chance we've already tried it).
A long, long post just to say I do sincerely apologize for having people wait longer, but I am literally still a few thousand dollars away from paying off all my debt that came from funding the first game. It's a micro-trauma I do not feel inclined to repeating again. When the franchise is in a better place, or I am emotionally/physically, I will return back to Women of Xal to finish the story. If I cannot, I will release a summary of events that transpire after the first game's true ending.
But for now, I'm going to focus on financial and emotional healing, and creating projects that I feel will be more appreciated by both myself and people who are turned off by what "Women of Xal" offers.
Thank you all for supporting our small company these past several years. <3
-John
My Waiting Rooms
The Hord
My first waiting room was inspired by the labyrinth, my love for friendly monsters and my need to live inside of a tree like a pixie.
The reason why I named this "The Hord" is because underneath the roots of my tree house is an elaborate cave system that I can access from my library. In those caves lives a Dragon that hordes all of my memories for current, past, and future lives. That dragon is a reflection of my Higher Self should I need any advice.
Around my tree house is a Labyrinth with serval moon doors, these are magical portals that can take me to any DR that I wish at any time.
Several agreeable monsters also call this waiting room their home and have designated territories.
I do have a non human mental health professional here that fits all my needs.
A few of my favorite parental figure characters of other medias also live here for any needed advice. Like Iroh and Genkai for example.
It has a different biome and mode of travel in each cardinal direction that leads to a different Waiting Room. This is the center of all my experiences and should I die in any of my other realities unexpectedly I would immediately shift here.
To the East there is a horse drawn carriage that goes though grasslands that will take you to Barbie's Mansion. To the south, between two forested mountains, there is a train that will bring you to the Dreamweaver station right outside Haven Village. To the West there is a bioluminescent beach with a yacht that will sail you to a Vacation Resort Island. To the North is a garage with a convertible Jeep prepared for your camping trip into the desert. Should you go far enough you will find yourself stopping at a gas station with strange burritos.
One day I'll post a map of everything.
Barbie's Creepy Dream House
Have any of you been to a Meow Wolf location yet? I have. I am obsessed with this string of immersive art experiences in the American south. I also have a wooden barbie doll house that my uncle made me when I was 8 that I am upcycling into a creepy display piece. This was the inspiration for my second waiting room.
In the fields, meadows, and marsh lands that surround the house I can find apparitions of ancestors and other loving entities on my spiritual team should I wish to speak with them directly.
Because I haven't finished the art project I have not solidified this WR, but I'll get to it in a few years.
The Haven
This inspired by the meditation series by The Honest Guys called Haven and Dreamweaver.
Important people (my core chosen family) in each of the realities I end up in will also be here with our collective memories together. This could be from one life as friends; or multiple, like my siblings. The souls here that have lived multiple lives with me can change their body to appear like any of their DR forms at will.
The soul of my "Kiss Me Again" lover lives here as my spouse in my English cottage with a thatched roof.
I often collaborate with my siblings and lover about who they want to be in my next DR, and who they want me to pull here for them to live an eternity with.
All of my past, present, and future pets live here.
Wii Sport Resort
I use to fucking love the Wii Sports games. SO yeah, I am going to play it forever. With tons of Mountain Dew.
And why not on an island with all my friends from every DR.
My OR biological family will also live here, but they will all be idealized healed versions of themselves.
This will have ALL Wii Sports games among other fun vacation activities, and PC Lounges were we can all play video games too.
Desert Skies
Inspired by a after death fictional audio drama podcast called Desert Skies.
I'm still working on the other details, but this will be a solo adventure of self discovery and processing the loss of each lived life.
*these are all waiting rooms because: they have no plot, are unaffected by time, every living thing is immortal, there are no bugs I dislike, no one ever gets dirty, or experiences any sort of discomfort/harm, we all always smell good, what every your want will appear upon your will of thinking it, you don't need to eat sleep or drink water if you don't want to, there are no ill effects to drugs, you can't get sick, and all of everyone's needs are provided for. There is no suffering of any kind.*
