Hi, is there a dialgue file with Kaidan's actual/original dialogue? I am think of a fanfic where he might appear, and while I remember most of my interactions with him, I am not sure whether I will get his voice right. Hence my question.
There is not; we pulled the original dialogue from the Kaidan 2 mod itself and have it separated into internal spreadsheets that are organized by quest. We highly recommend using Lazy Voice Finder to easily look at the dialogue of mods you're curious about. Good luck!

Workshop Progress: Summer Update
Well met Spectators! It's been a few months since our last update, but we've been hard at work behind the scenes hashing out KRCE 2.0; the version of KRCE that will contain content other than the original Kaidan 2 base script. As we move forward with new content and scripts, KRCE 1.0 will always remain available for those who prefer the original content over whatever the Workshop chooses to implement in the future. We hosted two community events last week to talk shop about what we've been up to, what content we're focused on currently, and listen to the first batch of new scripts we recorded with our VA Paul Warren back in June. As per our March Update, these are the scripts that we have begun implementing lines for:
The Intro Overhaul Pack -- What started as just a 1 for 1 integration of WarTortle's Immersive Kaidan Start has now expanded to include a few new conversations and immersive details to help smooth out the narrative mystery behind Kaidan's past, particularly for players who are new to TES lore. Paarthurnax Quest Expansion Compatibility -- Created by the amazing JaySerpa, PQE hooks wonderfully into Kaidan's existing narrative about redemption. We've managed to work into a few subtle nods to Kaidan's dark past for players who haven't completed his personal quest.
The Book Pack -- In addition to creating new lines for each book Kaidan receives, we have also implemented a system where the player can then ask him what he thought about said book. Some of these books also have conditional dialogue, depending if the player has or hasn't completed certain quests. There's also a new mini-quest built into this book system that will unlock... The [REDACTED] Pack -- a brand new way to engage with Kaidan. Trust us, you're going to love it.
We also (very giddily) revealed the name and nature of the [REDACTED] Pack as well -- it's called the Training Pack! Rather than 'hides and trinkets,' Kaidan can now train the player in five martial skills (or increase their Stamina limit) as thanks for gifting him books. This feature is unlocked via the Book Pack mini-quest, which entails giving Kaidan all four books in the Eslaf Erol series -- Beggar, Thief, Warrior, & King.

Initially, you'll hear two different lines fire off after selecting which skill you'd like to train in; one before a fade to black, then a second one after.

There are three 'tiers' of skill mastery that will determine the dialogue you will hear after the second line; Novice is for levels below 35, Intermediate is for levels 35 through 75, and Master is for level 75 and above. The tone Kaidan has for these three tiers shifts from that of mentorship over a novice/intermediately skilled mentee to that of an equally skilled contemporary. Additionally, all of the skills have multiple lines to keep the repetitiveness down -- we won't spoil them all for you, but you can get a taste of some of the lines in the included samples. There's a few great easter eggs in there if you pay attention!

Our Creation Kit & Assets Team have been having a field day adding in sound effects to these lines to really sell the training experience, while the Writing Team has turned their attention towards the second batch of scripts slated for inclusion in our first major update. We're still hammering out the line count for what will be included, but we're looking to have anywhere from 500 - 600 new lines; as soon as we have a firmer grasp on the length of the prioritized scripts, we'll let you all know.

Will all Daedric questlines be construed as "bad"?
Aware Kaidan understands Meridia and Azura are mostly above board, but even with others, worship of the Daedric Princes isn't inherently evil.
I know it's been said we can just not have him with us to avoid any quest triggers that would drive him to leave us, but one can already challenge his worldview about "all magic bad" and get him to ease up on his prejudices in the current version of KRCE. I wouldn't want to lose that complexity in him, esp since he retains the prejudice at times, but still hypocritically becomes okay with it around the DB, which I feel is just great character flavor. Hypocrisy = Humanity.
Does the dev team think it'd be within his capacity to challenge us/be challenged back about this subject? Maybe have a discussion/argument or two before getting abandoned outright? I don't mean the "explain where you've been" talk for when you leave him behind I've seen as suggestions either, I'm curious about up front philosophy, like an unapologetically scholarly DB or even a fellow cultist of anything but Dagon/Bal.
No they will not. As per this ask, Kaidan isn't a saint, and we are not trying to change him into that. Past that, there haven't been any decisions made on which quests will be off-limits for Kaidan or how we want to have it impact the player. We are focused on the first slate of content being implemented; as soon as we know, you'll know.

I can't tell you guys how jazzed I am about the possibility of having The Boi in my modlist but without supporting the... *vague gestures* y'know. I do have a question though, after reading the march update- I'm an LotD player (and I was a completionist even before I knew of that mod) so that means I go after every quest I can get my hands on in the game- arkayan priest ribs connoisseur, riften business owner puncher, and professional wedding interruptor are unfortunately some of my titles. In such a case, would players like me pretty much be SOL, with the upcoming moral compass?
As mentioned here, there hasn't been any decisions made on which quests will be off-limits for Kaidan or how we want to have it impact the player. That being said (and we know no one wants to hear this...) but you can just dismiss him from your party while you do bad things.

Hello! I apologize if this has been asked and answered before: I haven't downloaded KR:CE yet, but just out of curiosity, will he have the same/similar funny Dialogue with the companions and other npc's? I.e Vilkas teasing Kaidan about his crush on the DB, or Farkas teasing him about his Horker Sandwich motivated run in Falkreath? (I absolutely love what you and your team are doing with your project! The voice actor(s) is/are amazing and I'm so excited to see what all comes next! ❤️)
Thanks for the ask! The specific interactions you're mentioning here are not part of KRCE for two main reasons; they aren't part of the original Kaidan 2 base mod & that specific content utilizes AI voice generation. As per our FAQ, the Kaidan Workshop, as well as our VA’s Paul Warren, Elizabeth Plant, & Krimson Graey, have a STRICT policy against the utilization of AI Voice Generation.  With that being said, we are planning on creating our own set of interactions between vanilla companions and Kaidan via spliced dialogue. Hope that answers your questions!

Workshop Summer Update Event
Howdy Workshop Spectators! The Staff have been hard at work throughout June and July; we're very pleased to announce that we have completed processing and voting on the first batch of lines (approx. 250) we commissioned for our first major KRCE update! We're aiming for around 500 - 600 lines to be included in the first batch of new content. With that being said, we'll be hosting two events this week via our Discord stage -- one on Friday, July 11th at 6:00pm CST and one on Sunday, July 13th at 9:00am CST! If you're joining our server for the first time, please ensure that you are reading through the #rules channel and agreeing to them, or you will be automatically removed from the server in 10 minutes.
We'll be going over what content will be in our first major update, listening to some of the new lines, and revealing the first of the two [REDACTED] packs that we've been working on.
For those who can't make it, there will be an update posted here on Tumblr after the events, to go over what was covered.
We'll see y'all then!

Will there be a potential love triangle as in the original Kaidan mod?
p.s. I have no idea if that storyline is because of extended edition or immersive features, so I apologize is this is out of place.
This seems to be an added feature of EE or IF -- the original Kaidan 2 base mod doesn't have a love triangle -- so no, there are no plans for this feature. Thanks for the ask though!

I've been waiting to use this mod and I'm so excited to see what's changed! Thank you for your hard work!! Out of curiosity, are there any compatible appearance/skin mods for KRCE yet? I'm assuming the og mods that change Kaidan's appearance don't work.
That's correct -- any mod that used the original Kaidan 2 as a dependency will not work with KRCE. If you visit our Nexus page and check under the 'Requirements' tab, you'll see all the mods (including appearance replacer mods) that use KRCE as a dependency.

Apologies if this is already answered elsewhere or has an obvious answer, but will newer versions of the mod require a new game or be able to be updated mid-play through without issues aside from maybe missing out on dialogue from quests you've already completed?
The mod is very enjoyable thus far! The voice actor did an amazing as did the rest of the team!
Our first big update will almost certainly require a new save, as it adds an overhaul to Kaidan's main quest, as well as new commentary for the Skyrim Main Quest and a slew of other goodies we're preparing to announce in the coming weeks. Most mod updates require new saves, as any updates to the conditions or scripts will bork your existing save up; it's a hard limitation of the Creation Kit. Our goal for the first update is to add in as much of the content that will require a new save, so that subsequent updates will be mid-save friendly. Besides that, thank you so much for the kind words! We're all so excited to show you all the new lines and quests you'll get to enjoy in the KRCE 2.0 update!

Hi there!! I just stumbled across this mod project today, it looks amazing, and I'm super excited to start a playthrough with it!
I'm curious though, what you'll plan to do with the books? Honestly it's been a while since I've done a play through with Kaidan, BUT I fondly remember that you could give him books, and he would comment on wanting to learn a thing or two outside of survival.
I thought that this was a really neat feature, one I don't think I'd ever seen in any other CVFs do, at least in my experience. My opinion here, but I also think it ties very well into the theme of personal growth.
So I guess I want to ask, do you, I your revision of the mod, plan to expand on this feature even further than the original mod did?

If the player does the Thieve Guild questline when you make Kaidan narrative-centric, will it affect the player's relationship at all? The Thieves Guild is probably one of my favorite factions for lots of different reasons and offers the player a lot of perks. I want to know if he'll stop interacting with us or if it'll halt any relationship progression. I always do the Thieves Guild every run. If I update the Kaidan mod, I'm scared my game will break because he'll suddenly dislike me if my character is already really far in the Thieves Guild when before the update he was okay with it.
As mentioned here, there hasn't been any decisions made on which quests will be off-limits for Kaidan or how we want to have it impact the player, but we can say that the Thieves Guild doesn't really have a quest-line that fits our criteria of 'too morally repugnant for Kaidan to be complicit.' Hope that eases your nerves!

Howdy howdy, the Workshop has a new KRCE update out! You can read the patch notes below, or on our Nexus page. An updated Xbox version will be released sometime next week. Besides that, we're incredibly pleased to announce that KRCE has been granted permission from LivTempleton to opt KRCE's Nexus page into the donation point system! 100% of proceeds will be going to charity; half to the Ukrainian Relief Fund, and half to Doctors Without Borders. Moving forward, all mods that are dependent on KRCE are permitted to open their mod pages up for donation points, so long as the proceeds are donated to one of the two aforementioned charities.
Other than that, we're closing in on finalizing the first batch of new content for KRCE 2.0. You can read about our current progress here, and take a peek at our donation drive!

Added script from hotfix 1.1.1, fix for the cool romance path not advancing
Fixed bug preventing All of this Past from advancing if you found the dossier before translating his sword
Tweaked the wording of certain objectives for All of this Past to hopefully be more clear
Adjusted conditions on "Who were you before you discovered you had the Dragon Blood?" until after Arngeir tells you about it
Fixed spelling of "dragon blood" to "Dragon Blood" to be consistent with how vanilla Skyrim capitalizes it
Cleaned up some unnecessary conditions on his KW_K02Hungry01 responses, removed the random flag from the homecooked meal response
Added IdleStop_Loose to the Book of the Dragonborn response so the book doesn't get stuck in his hand
