I think there’s an interesting study to be had about Twitter CR Fandom vs Tumblr CR Fandom when it comes to character conflict and the sides that they choose.

I believe during the whole Ashton and Fearne Shard debacle, Tumblr sided with Fearne while Twitter sided with Ashton and there were once again words of “infantilization” of woman being thrown around.

It’s similar to the current fandom conflict except in the opposite direction now. It’s Twitter on Laudna’s side and Tumblr on Orym’s side and “infantilization” is being used yet again as an argument against siding with the more feminine presenting characters of the group.

Not to mention the way everyone keeps trying ti shift all the blame into one character or even those who says that “both are in the wrong” there’s a very clear emphasis on who is “more wrong”

Its been ages before I have had to speak up about someone elses harmful actions since that system hottake blog.

But I am actually done just sitting around doing nothing when anti endos like this person are encouraging bullying towards endogenic systems

This doesn’t make me any less anti endo, nor does it mean that we support endogenic systems, in fact, we personally don’t believe that it’s even possible to be endogenic and that most of them are either:

- misguided by those who prey on minors (like sophie),

- have DID but don’t remember their trauma,

- are confusing their symptoms for DID when they probably have a different disorder,

- are experiencing something that no one is able to give a proper name to so they make it sound like a CDD when it’s clearly not,

- or are just straight up insane (ahem, like sophie)

You do not, under any circumstances, bully people, even if they have hurt you or you really really hate them to the core. “Oh but endos are evil, they’re ableist scums of the earth and they constantly hurt us and shit-” YOU DONT STOOP TO THEIR LEVEL.

Wanna know why they absolutely despise us? This is why

When you give radical anti endos a platform to speak, a platform to target endos who are most likely just trying to exist, you get people bullying them. You get people who are attacking the other community and harassing them. When you enable radical anti endos a platform to speak, you are hurting both communities

Anti endos have been fighting for ages to get basic respect from the other side and to just be left alone and not have people roleplay or romanticize the disorder, but radicals literally undo all the hard work by giving pro endos a reason to bully and harass back and invalidate all of us because of a select few, which is also exactly how we treat them when we are being attacked by people like sophieinwonderland or other radical pro endos

I could probably guarantee you that the majority of the system community just wants this useless fighting to stop and for all the bullying, harassment, and ableism to stop. I can guarantee you that most people on BOTH sides are not fully one or the other, and that we fall closer to the middle and have nuanced stances on certain topics. We are not robots, we have complex opinions, and syscourse is no exception.

If you don’t want the other side to interact with you then block them and set your boundaries. Filter out tags you don’t want to see, block people like this person who you know are toxic and hurt people regardless of what their stances are. You are responsible for how you want to interact and contribute to the community. It is your responsibility to be the better person.

And if you see problems within your own community, SPEAK UP ABOUT IT. When you stay silent knowing that you have seen the problems that exist within the community, you are complicit in the bullying and harassment. You are letting radicals dictate the reputation of your community. This goes for both anti and pro endos. Stop staying silent, otherwise nothing will change.

I know this system community can do better. I have seen the good from both sides. We really should stop fighting and actually respect each other and understand that our experiences are different from one another and it doesn’t automatically make their experiences invalid just because they don’t match yours. Who knows, if we can actually get along we would be a lot more empathetic towards each other and maybe, JUST MAYBE, we could stop the actually ableist fuckers and the bullies who are ruining it for everyone. We could actually work together and take down harmful spaces like r/syscringe and r/fakedisordercringe, these harm BOTH COMMUNITIES and are places that ENABLE BULLYING AND FAKECLAIMING.

Nothing gets done when people stay silent, when people stay divided, and when you ignore the problems in your own community that the opposition has constantly been highlighting on for ages. Learn what makes someone radical in their beliefs, learn the difference between what is actually wrong versus what is just an opinion that conflicts with your own beliefs because those two are NOT the same. Learn to stay away from toxic spaces and warn others of these places, like the K9 Cave server on discord or r/syscringe on reddit. Educate yourself, not just on CDDs and how they actually work but also on endogenic experiences and how they affect people who genuinely believe that they are endogenic. You may not personally believe in them, but if you stay educated on these topics then it benefits both communities and you could actually help someone who may have something misunderstood or is unknowingly spreading misinformation about it. You really can’t expect pro endos and endos to do their research about CDDs but then also not listen to their experiences and their ideas on the complexities of plurality. You don’t have to agree with it, but if you refuse to even listen to them then its pretty hypocritical to ask them to listen to you.

I don’t have to accept their experiences as pure fact or scientifically proven, but I can respect it and be empathetic instead of bullying them and understand that in reality, we don’t know everything. I shouldn’t have to risk “looking like a pro endo” or seem like I am siding with them when I am very much anti endo to get this point across:

That bullying someone for having completely different opinions, views, and experiences is wrong, and you cannot justify it.

I’m not here to say that “oh endos are valid” or “oh endos are invalid” that is not my point. My point is that even if you don’t share the same views, opinions and experiences with them, you have no right to bully them.

There is a fuckton that we don’t know. This world is already against all of us in general. The best we can do is work together and have basic respect for each other. Just, basic respect, you don’t even need to interact with the other side, just respect each others boundaries.

I know you're most likely sick of talking about this by now but this rubs me the wrong way.

Its like she's trying to downplay it all as 'drama' all the time and its getting so tiring. I think it's really hard for me to speak on this element of the situation and not come across as a bitch, or that I'm unnecessarily targeting someone and deflecting blame from the person who is at fault - but I've skipped out on answering a lot of anons who have either sent me links to things (I've said before, this person has me blocked and I can't view them, so I haven't responded) or had something to say about how it's being handled on this end, but ultimately I do think this user is a part of the overall conversation - and I can't really ignore the impact their actions have had on everything that has happened since this all started last month

a point I really want to make by speaking on this is that it's important for everybody that these things are spoken about publicly, and spoken about honestly, regardless of personal bias, because Brynn's actions genuinely hurt people and caused genuine harm to the writing and reading community on here. ignoring it or sugarcoating it does not take away from the pain caused or the damage done, and it's important to look at multiple perspectives to form an opinion

will preface by saying, this is not me trying to stand here on my soap box and point fingers and say that anyone is to blame for brynn's blatant and persistent content theft but herself. that isn't why I'm responding to this. and like I said above, this user has me blocked, I have her blocked, there's no other way for me to speak on it but to do so publicly (as much as she might hold the opinion I have no need to do so) and I sort of just want to show how all of this has had a wider impact on others in this space

I'll also preface by saying kawhh has said throughout that she doesn't agree with Brynn's actions, but as I'll explain below - actions speak louder than words, and the words she's said just aren't enough.

*most screenshots throughout this post are going to look different bc some of them come from others that have sent these to me - oftentimes by people trying to make me aware as it’s assumed they are about me, I don't know if that's the case, and nor do I actually care, this isn’t me trying to insert myself - the general consensus seems to be that anyone who speaks on this situation is a mean girl, a bully, or a bitch, and I think whoever she's trying to apply that to, it's a problematic take to have. I’m including pictures for context because I can’t link to posts.

my first point from this, is that she does have a responsibility to speak on this situation, and the reason I'm so insistent on responsibility and accountability, is because this user has a documented pattern of choosing to ignore and sensor the facts in favour of platforming, enabling and excusing her friend, despite her repeated abhorrent actions

when announcing brynn's return to the platform in a post that was encouraging forgiveness and giving second chances (no mention of all the other chances given for her to do the right thing), there was also no mention of the specific things she did that caused her to delete in the first place. there were several mentions of "brynn's actions" with no specific detail of what those were, and when she was explicitly asked, she then linked to a post which was an apology from brynn (again, not detailing the full extent of these actions, with repeated references to "what she did" or "her actions" and not a single one explaining in clear, direct terms what that was) and an ask she answered that said "she was taking other people's work from other websites and posting it here, at least some of it" - it's a watered down version of the truth used as a manipulation tactic to people who aren't getting the full story to be able to make an informed decision. she keeps adding that "nobody is saying that stops the hurt" but her repeated disregard of the severity of everything does take away from it

the point I'm making here, is that in situations like this - where she was encouraging people to forgive and forget - there needs to be a clear, unbiased reference for what they are supposed to be forgiving and forgetting, and the repeated cover up, in my opinion, was deceptive and manipulative

there were several available, unbiased posts that she never reblogged to her audience - one including a statement from brynn herself, made with the utmost respect on that user's part, and including screenshotted proof and a clear intention for transparency - that she could have linked to, but she repeatedly disregarded these, and even belittled, shamed and blocked the people who posted them on multiple occasions - stating that people were "stirring the pot for drama", "cashing in on drama and poking around" "being rude or bullying" and engaging in "drama book clubs"

several points then stem from things being handled this way

one being the repeated disregard for how many times people did address this privately - there were screenshots in the aforementioned posts circulating at the time that showed this was addressed privately to brynn dating back to 2023, with her continuing to steal and lie - handling it privately was no longer an option

and the second being the way these statements then trickled down into vicious messages spread across to the people who had the integrity to speak on it, and were shamed and ~virtually spat on for doing so

*these are asks that were posted publicly, and I have no doubt don't reflect the extent of how many people this sort of stuff was sent to, I haven't said who they were sent to but if you read this and want me to, I'll happily do so - not including the vitriol that has been sent to me over the last month, because like I said above, I'm trying to make a point of how far and wide this stuff spreads when handled poorly, however (obviously as someone who had to witness some of the things sent my way, it is clear where the source of the hatred came from, and that is not me saying she herself sent any hate, but that her posts inspired such a reaction - including specific verbiage used within her posts/responses)

tying into the above, and going back to my point about responsibility, throughout the time brynn was then gone, this user was encouraging people to send anons to forward to brynn, actively engaging her in a toxic environment that she, herself, said was the cause of her stealing in the first place, didn't give her a chance to distance herself from it or reflect on why she, for so long and without regard for anybody's feelings, let herself be consumed by engagement on this site, and played a big part in her returning to the platform when a lot of her other friends (who have made public posts that I won't link, because this isn't about them) were actively encouraging her to stay away, grow and learn - friends who then faced the same level of backlash and anon hate when brynn returned despite them trying to help in private

*I am basing this off of the excuses that brynn herself gave for her actions, not any assumption or opinion.

*I'll follow on from this by saying, I understand wanting to try and lighten the load of what was happening for her friend, and wanting her to know that there were people that were worried or cared, but if you're putting out statements saying this whole thing was brought on by an obsession with attention, you should not then be weaponising said attention when the girl clearly needed to remove herself entirely for a chunk of time and reflect on her actions - and all of that while continuing to cover up the actual thing she did

**an anon has since pointed out to me that you cannot send an ask, even on anon, if you don't already have an account, meaning brynn was active when she claimed to be offline, had full access to any content kawhh was forwarding to her without the need to encourage anons to get involved, and in my opinion, anon messages were being utilised to garner sympathy and again, manipulate kawhh's audience - this is my opinion, you can make your own mind up on whether or not you believe in those intentions, I don't want to force it on you but I think it's important to include she had a presence when she claimed not to, and at a time when a lot of other people were dealing with the aftermath of her actions unfairly, and I can't speak on whether kawhh would have been aware of this, but regardless, the whole anon thing should never have been encouraged

and encouraging these sorts of asks obviously then led to a premature return (which again, from public posts and private conversations, I know others were actively encouraging brynn not to do), to an audience kawhh had built of people who did not know what brynn did entirely, and were led to believe others being "bitches" was the problem - there is a public response to one of kawhh's posts that I won't sc, bc the user who commented was doing so based off of a lack of information, but this post was basically saying "SHAME ON EVERYONE TALKING ABOUT BRYNN AND BEING MEAN ABOUT BRYNN, YOU WOULDN'T LIKE THE SAME THINGS BEING SAID ABOUT YOU", proving that there was a false narrative that had been created around the whole situation

obviously it caused another wave of hurt and upset when brynn did come back, at which point kawhh repeatedly platformed her, again, never mentioning the specifics or the extent of her previous actions, despite several "explanation posts" from both of them, trying to enforce her own bias on her audience, and reblogging posts from brynn to her audience who she thus far has withheld the complete truth from (which are still on her page at this moment in time, with, again, no acknowledgement of anything that came to light yesterday)

and this is the point I'm trying to make - and why I have a problem with "it's between me, brynn and her friends" - kawhh herself utilised her own following to create a platform for brynn to come back, and to do the exact same thing over again, therefore perpetuating the same hurt to more people than will ever come forward - people came to her for updates on brynn, with messages to send to brynn, and for an explanation of what she did because they trusted her

and while she has said in vague and non-committal phrases, that she doesn't agree with what brynn did, she has never once publicly held her to account to the following she then manipulated into engaging once more

labelling this entire thing as "drama" and acting like she is above it belittles what brynn did, which includes but is not limited to

stealing multiple fics from other platforms

stealing multiple fics from this platform

stealing multiple fics from her FRIENDS

stealing multiple IDEAS from her friends, posted in private forums, and claiming them as her own

using conversations with her friends or posts by her friends to suit her own content, and pretending like they were her own

*also important to use the correct wording - she didn't "copy writing for some of her posts" - she STOLE writing, oftentimes full fic, changing names only, and at this point with all the evidence shown and everyone who has come forward, it was not some of her posts. It spanned asks, blurbs, fics, mood boards etc, and is presumably most of what she posted, including even random things said in a text post and down to random meme reaction pictures used. Her entire presence and most of her interactions with others were based on plagiarism and theft.

all across multiple years, having been confronted multiple times, and all while refusing to actually, explicitly, say what she did whenever she apologised, and who she did it to - and I'll assume (having spoken to double digits at this point worth of people) it's because the depths at which this whole situation spreads would absolutely disgust people. she blocked people who called her out - people who ended up being bullied back into deleting any post calling her out after receiving anon hate and nasty comments - and she played innocent to anyone who approached her (there are multiple screenshots of messages calling her out, and she gives the same watered down excuses in each one)

assuming 2023 is as far as it does go back, people have been bullied into silence, and the point I'm making here, and the pattern I'm trying to show - is that you can see how something as seemingly innocent as not wanting to condemn a friend's actions to others, contributes to them continuing to purposely hurt others for their own gain

too many people have tried to handle this privately, and have ~unintentionally enabled her over time

all of the things said above have directly contributed to a toxic environment for others on this app, where anyone who speaks on it is sent hate, people who were privately trying to support their friend were sent hate, and someone who repeatedly hurt and stole from others was given a platform to do so

like I said in the beginning, I have no delusions that I can say all this without seeming like a bitch, or like I'm deflecting blame from who is truly responsible - and I have no expectations that kawhh will respond well to this, but something needs to be said when she's constantly undermining the situation while lying to her audience, making endless indirects, and all in the name of "staying out of drama land" and pointing the finger at "mean girls"

she is the one who consistently makes an effort to cover up what brynn did, and so when she continues to do it, she should own up to the fact she can't shirk responsibility for her part in it happening again

AGAIN, I don't condone hate sent to anyone - I'm trying to bring awareness to the multitude of ways in which dealing with this situation with such little regard for anyone but brynn, has caused a ripple effect throughout the community, and I'm hoping it opens some eyes who might have been convinced by the deceptive posts made by kawhh throughout this mess that there's more than one side to a story

Survivor's Dilema

Ways being a cult survivor was used against me by the second cult I joined in college.

It should be quite clear that I have some odd experiences from the title alone but I find it reasonable to relay ways that I was taken for a fool by the leader of the cult of personality I joined in college as well as rhetoric the group used in general that preyed upon the fact that I had been through something deemed objectively "worse" before. For context I grew up in a destructive cult, which differs significantly from a cult of personality. This cult was in real life and is where I was trafficked as a child. Something that is currently under investigation so I will say no more. This is objectively more awful than the online cult of personality I joined the discord server of in late 2022 and became properly recruited into by October of 2023. I left in September of 2024 after getting some distance due to people close to me in real life after I graduated college.

Abusers will take advantage of those who have had severe trauma and use that trauma against you to convince you that nothing is wrong.

Rhetoric

The following are examples of ideas and claims either my abusers, fellow cult members or myself used To justify what was happening and how my past experiences "cleared" the group of being "a real cult"

This group is online, it's impossible for physical abuse to occur from the internet. It's not capable of being a cult.

You were assaulted and brutalized as a child. You're an adult now this is different. You're legal now, so it's okay.

The people who point out that young adults in the college age range aren't as mature as the other members in their 30s and 40s and are being taken advantage of are infantilizing you and others. It's normal for someone twice your age to be your friend. That can never go wrong.

What you experienced was a real cult, this is just a friend group. You're allowed to voice your opinions (if you follow a strict set of rules and guidelines and abide by the unsaid rules as well).

If this was a cult we wouldn't let you talk about growing up in a cult. Cults never talk badly about cults as a concept.

The only ones capable of handling you venting in depth about your trauma other than other survivors being us is a sign that we are the only safe people. We really understand cults and we care. (Taking advantage of the fact that others did not support me. As well as consistently leading me to dwell in obsession on my trauma).

We're always there when you vent we know what you went through obviously this is nothing like that. That was real trauma and pain this is nothing. They're trying to trick you.

Weaponization

On the flip side of the gross rhetoric employed by my abusers and my own self with attempts to further align myself with the group- is the enactment of those ideas as well as the weaponization of my status as a cult survivor to shield them from any criticism.

My abusers publicly discussed how I was a "real cult survivor" and would put things about my trauma without my permission and twist it ever so subtly to both make me seem a bit too unstable or possibly insane AND to get pity points

They were planning to have me on their platform to discuss being a cult survivor and break down information I knew about cults and how they worked. If this has happened it would have been in the interest of making them look better.

My abusers and even other members of the cult knew what to bring up from my past to convince me to go along with their narrative. The Us Vs. Them that was employed against the cult leaders detractors was further enforced by purposeful comparison between my original cult and traffickers and these people trying desperately to get me and some of the other younger members out.

A false sense of authority was enabled by the cult when it came to my knowledge of the matter. I am not a doctor I am merely one survivor. Being a survivor doesn't make you smarter or stronger- it actually makes you more vulnerable.

Using the fact they care for and aid me, a cult and trafficking survivor, as a shield. This includes using me to claim that anyone against them was attacking a trafficking survivor and made me believe they hated me for my trauma.

This is not a list of all tactics nor does it always apply to everyone else, but I do think it's important for people to be aware of how cults can manipulate someone and especially prey on those who are already vulnerable. There is a common idea in survivor spaces that it's unlikely for you to get into a cult again or you may somehow have better awareness against them. This is not true by and large. You may notice specific behaviors more but if someone is able to get you to slip back into your cult personality or play into your inborn dependency or ability to be easily swayed common in survivors who were specifically raised in culte- you will be in danger.

It is important to have people you can open up to and trust. Talking about things is a great way to process them and eventually cope with what happened to you. However it is hard to find genuine and earnest people. Some will take advantage of your precarious situation. Whether intentionally or not, some people will do you harm.

None of what was said in rhetoric are correct nor cohesive views of reality. Online cults can and do exist and though they may cause less harm than the real thing it is always possible close knit cults may simply upgrade to being in person one day. This was possible with the cult I was in. I guarantee it I had stayed for another few years, that's where I'd have eventually ended up. I may suffer more in totality from my trafficking but this cult is more recent and it had elements that have completely broken me. I've spent the past year slowly building myself back up.

You are not immune to cults. But it's also just as important to know you're not destined to be stuck forever. Cults are more common than people think, but they are still not the norm and something you can hopefully avoid more accurately as you begin to learn more about them. I hope this post helps some people understand ways survivors can be targeted as well as makes people who suffered in an online cult feel seen. I also want to be clear- adults can and will still be victims of cults. Their pain matters just as much as that of any child. Children who grow up in cults will inevitably have more issues in the end due to never having a baseline outside of the cult, which is more difficult, but adult still suffer and matter.

people are so quick to project intent onto louis where there likely isn’t any. it’s like they’ve decided that everything he does must somehow be an attack on larries, even if it’s just existing or trying to create something for fans. like you said, attributing the behavior of a loud minority in the fandom to him is just a thinly veiled excuse to keep harassing him. and the truth is, chaos happens everywhere in this fandom. whether it’s on tumblr, twitter, instagram, or in group chats—it’s not exclusive to this new discord server, so why act like it will be some uniquely evil space before we even see it?

i personally wouldn’t be surprised if certain words associated with the larry fandom end up blocked in the discord server—assuming they’ve got people running it who actually know how to use the moderation tools properly. and honestly, if that does happen, then i hope they’re also blocking the phrases and threats commonly used to spread hate toward larries too. because that side of things can be just as harmful and painful, and it deserves equal attention. i don’t know what this server is actually going to look like, and truthfully, i don’t have high hopes that it’ll last long—but that’s just my own take. we’ll see how it plays out.

i also think it’s wild how certain people refuse to show the same energy when harries cross the line toward us or louis. they don’t demand accountability there. they don’t start thinkpieces about how harry enables harassment when his fans act up. it’s selective morality, plain and simple.

as for gina… at this point, it feels like she’s actively working to erase louis from the narrative unless it’s to use him as a scapegoat or villain. and yeah, she’s made it clear she doesn’t care about him, which fine, whatever—but she doesn’t get to be surprised when people call out how harmful that disregard becomes when it’s paired with a massive platform and a loud voice. instead of encouraging curiosity or even neutrality about louis’s career moves, she incites suspicion and bitterness. it’s not just about her relationship to him anymore—it’s about the way she shapes the tone of the spaces she leads.

The Sims 4 New Game Patch (January 14th, 2025)

EA has shared the patch notes for an upcoming game update, scheduled to drop today (January 14th) at 10am PST.

Main Menu Visual Refresh

To start off with, we have a brand-new Main Menu visual refresh! We’ve pushed aside the clutter to make space for your Sims! New Game / Resume Game has moved from right to left, as have a few of the other navigation options. Home, Events and Store can be found at the top, along with the Options panel in the far right. It may take a moment to get used to the New Game / Resume Game new location, I know it took a moment for some of us. A few other changes to mention:

Do you know what is happening with Kindle?

Unless something else has happened, Amazon is removing the option for readers to download Amazon ebooks to their computer on February 26. What this essentially means is that you won't be able to "keep" your files in any way. Beforehand, readers could sideload these copies onto their kindles and keep the file on their computers (with the potential to de-DRM them or move them onto different e-readers via side-loading). Now, users will only be able to send their books to Kindle online.

What this does is make it easier for Amazon to remove the file from your kindle if it's connected to wifi. If they sent it there, they can take it back. And to be clear, you NEVER owned the books you paid for from Amazon. You merely kept a license, which Amazon could always take back. It's all in the fine print, they're just being more explicit about it now.

To be clear, The B'ezos is Orange's bitch, Amazon doesn't see itself as a bookseller, and books and programs like KU are actually often profit losers for them (which is to say, they're not as incentivized to protect books for money as people think). I don't think they'll hesitate to bend the knee if an official ban on certain ebooks happen, and I don't think they'll even need a ban enacted for them to continue to arbitrarily remove books from the platform and make explicit books harder to find even when they're on the platform (this is called soft-censoring, and it's an easier way to make these books harder to distribute and gradually kill them off by making them less profitable for writers and publishers).

I have a kindle, and essentially the one thing it does that is more challenging on other e-reading devices (though not impossible) is enable me to read NetGalley files. NetGalley has recently made it borderline-impossible for Kobo users to do that, though you can still read these files on your phone and android devices (though on every device BUT the kindle, the book eventually leaves your possession). I'm weaning myself off Amazon, and once my kindle is toast I'll definitely be investing in a different device, most likely a Kobo or Boox.

But the best way to hold on to books you really love is to buy hard copies.

Will I ever get over this drama? I just started rewatching from the first episode on Viki, with comments enabled. But I think it’s good to rewatch coz the first time, I was still overwhelmed by all the information even as I was keeping up with reading the subtitles. I also didn’t have any comments from other viewers on the other platform, which could sometimes help in understanding the context of a scene or dialogue better (especially since I’m not Chinese). Now, I’m more relaxed and able to take in the subtler parts, especially in the dialogues. I have the luxury of not paying attention visually all the time.

One good example of my having failed to catch the nuances during my initial watch is the part when Shen Li in her phoenix form asked Xingzhi (as the mortal Xingyun) what he was going to do in the market. I don’t know any Mandarin and the other platform I first watched this in didn’t give any side notes on such languange nuances so I had no idea of the double meaning behind the words Xingyun used in his reply.

Apparently, the words he used to say that he sells ginseng sounds almost the same phonetically as the words used to mean he was going to sell himself (i.e. prostituting himself). Hence, Phoenix Shen Li’s shock and initial disgust towards him. It made that scene doubly hilarious to me upon second viewing.

I’m also more appreciative now of Shen Li and Xingzhi’s initial interactions in their phoenix and mortal forms, respectively. I’m better able to understand now why Shen Li fell hard for him and how she grew on Xingzhi till she became very dear to him. His beloved, in fact.

As a phoenix in the mortal world, Shen Li was perceived as a chicken, albeit a weird looking one, an ordinary creature with little to recommend it in those days except as food for the people. She was one of the weakest creatures and her life very expendable. What a stark contrast from her life in the Demon Realm, where she is styled Lord of the Azure Sky, wielder of the powerful Red Plume Spear. She is a great general of their army, a princess for all intents and purposes. Here in the mortal world, she’s forced to rely on a sickly and impoverished mortal man for sustenance and protection.

As for Xingzhi, the disparity of his mortal life from his old life is even greater. He is poor and sickly Xingyun, living alone in a house quite far from the center of population. He’s forced to live on meager fare, whatever selling ginseng can bring him. And most of his small earnings go to his medicines. His body is frail so that it seems as if he can die anytime.

Yet in his true form, he is the last of the Ancient Gods in the Sky Above Heaven. He’s the most powerful being in the universe, and the lives of all three realms are in his hands.

As for why Xingzhi chose to live as a mortal in such state, it’s probably because he felt it would give him a more varied and intense experience of humanity and its challenges.

So here were these two beings, reduced to such circumstances, finding themselves living together and depending on each other. They got to know one another without the burdens and trappings of their positions, and it allowed their relationship to grow into something more authentic. In a way, one can say that this brief period where everything started between them was what allowed them to love each other just as themselves, as simply Shen Li and Xingzhi. Not as Lord Of The Azure Sky and The Divine Lord of the Sky Above Heaven and the Three Realms.

This initial arc goes on for several episodes before Shen Li finally returns to the Demon Realm and they meet again, this time with Xingzhi in all his understated glory as Divine Lord Xingzhi, and she as the Lord Of The Azure Sky. I think it was the perfect foundation for the relationship that they developed later on. It was a love so strong that it literally shook all the Three Realms and eventually led to the destruction of the Sky Above Heaven, ending the age of the ancient gods.

Some of the fans complain that the development of some arcs took a chunk out of the series, that some arcs were dragging and they saw little sense in it. For me, those viewers are probably the types who got used to the instant gratification that’s usually seen in Western dramas or those who don’t have the patience to finish reading a book. They always want to skip to the good parts and then they keep pestering other viewers with questions on why this happened or why that is so.

Anyway, whatever else these foolish viewers may say, TLOS will remain one the best CDramas ever. Almost all its characters, especially the ones who portray key roles, were well rounded and developed. And the execution of the story was top-notch, from the first time Xingzhi’s eyes fell on this weird chicken, until the end, when he and Shen Li return to the mortal world to live their life together happily and peacefully in that house where their love first blossomed.

Hi there! I assume this was about the Afreakingdorks post. Thank you that's very sweet. And thank you for reaching out.

There was absolutely some miss communication between the two of us and I adapted to all of her requests as best I could. The issues arose when she requested more than 3 edits past the sketch phase. In my price sheet I state that they are alowed unlimited edits in the sketch phase, then 3 free edits past the sketch stage, but after 3 edits I would need to start charging for my time. This is when the issues began because they were unwilling to pay for edits but insisted, I make them for free. When they were unwilling to compromise, and the conversation was seeming to go downhill I agreed to show them the flats layer to prove I did in fact add gray to their Sona's fur and reduced the opacity in the light layers to make them show more. I also emailed the files to them with the edit function enabled so they could mess with the files any way they pleased since it was not quite what they had wanted. I also offered them a 50% refund for the piece which they refused. I know they were also talking about the file "conveniently appearing" after they harassed me on 2 different tumblr accounts. But they didn't consider that I had sent them 3 high resolution PNG's that take a few minutes to send over. So I guess to her it looked like they just appeared after she started spamming me on her two other accounts.

To be perfectly clear to any of her followers that came to my page due to this altercation. She received several WIP's. She made edits to those WIP's which I then made, and she approved of them/ gave the thumbs up for me to continue the illustration. This happened several times during the sketch phase and 3 times during the line art phase. She then received said finished piece but requested more edits for free. When I told her I couldn't make any more edits for free she got upset. She requested I send what I had to her email which I did, and she received it. The transaction was completed.

She also showed screenshots of our conversation but cut them up and rearranged them to make it look like I was taking advantage of her on her blog.

I've been receiving commissions for over 5 years and never had an issue with a customer. I'm always willing to compromise with the customer as well. But once it was clear she was trying to get more work for free and continued to gaslight me in the conversation, it was time for the transaction to end. They paid for a fully rendered illustration with two characters and two side images. I illustrated the background for free for them. Thats the full image they received. I would share our screenshots as well and the image itself but since It was an NSFW piece and there are minors following me I do not want to expose the imagery to on this platform.

There were several instances where they were directing me to manga/comic style while contradicting themselves and insisting I draw it in my own style and liked where the piece was going which added another layer of confusion.

All and all this has absolutely been an interesting customer experience. If she wants to moan about how I hurt her reputation and sladerd her good name, she has ever right and I certainly won't stop her. It's disappointing to see from a 31 year old adult. But what can you do, I'm not willing to add to her pitty party.

And you don’t see a single big or even medium sized ARMY account in the quotes trying to shut that down or sincerely apologize to him (also no hit tweets about how nasty and vile KTHs & tkkrs are…). And I agree, I think one of the main reasons is because half of this fandom are tkkrs who agree with him getting harassed ngl, or they already dislike him because they think he’s too JM biased and resent him for it. Even regardless of the affect on endogenic systems—their beliefs still uphold a system that continually takes away the self determination of disabled people, injures and traumatizes them permanently, refuses to give actual, personalized, informed aid, and forces children on medication with side effects they were never even told of. 25 Years Ago Today: An U.S. F-117 Stealth Jet Is Shot Down Over Serbia 🇷🇸

OTD in 1999, “Vega 31” was shot down near Belgrade. Here’s how it went.

On Mar. 27, 1999, during the fourth night of Operation Allied Force (OAF) over Serbia, a U.S. Air Force F-117 Nighthawk (#82-0806), flown by Lt. Col. Darrell P. Zelko, was shot down while returning to Aviano airbase, after a strike mission against a target near Belgrade.

The F-117, callsign “Vega 31”, was hit by one of a series of missiles fired by a S-125 “Neva” missile system (NATO reporting name, SA-3 “Goa���) belonging to the 3rd Battalion of the 250th Air Defence Missile Brigade of the Army of Yugoslavia, at a distance of about 8 miles.

According to Sergeant Dragan Matić, the soldier later identified as the operator who fired the missiles, the stealth plane was detected at a range of about 50 to 60 kilometres and the surface-to-air missile radar was switched on for no more than 17 seconds.

The pilot successfully ejected and was rescued between 5 and 8 hours later (depending on the sources): AFSOC (Air Force Special Operations Command) dispatched MH-53M, MH-53J and MH-60 aircrew along with Special Tactics Airmen responded to the emergency and, coordinated by E-3 AWACS and supported by several specialized platforms, including an EC-130E ABCCC and A-10 in Sandy role, rescued the F-117 pilot.

While the shootdown of the F-117 #82-0806 marked the first ever and only downing of a stealth aircraft in combat, how the Serbians managed to achieve the then almost unbelievable kill is still open to debate.

On one side, the Serbs claimed they had found a way to detect stealth aircraft by using slightly modified radars: the modifications involved the use of long wavelengths to try to “paint” the target at short range, exploiting the moment when the low observability of the Nighthawk was degraded by the opening of the bomb bay door.

However, this was not true: according to some Serbian sources, the story of the modification was purposely told by the battalion commander and served as propaganda. In the end there was no modification of the P-18 or SNR-125 radar.

What is true is that the Serbians were extremely cautious in operating their SAM batteries, dispatching messages without using cell phones or radios, so as not to risk to be intercepted and geo-located, and relocating the batteries across the country.

In the end, besides the successful tactics used by the Serbians, the shootdown of the F-117 was also the result of a series of other contributing factors:

the use of the same route for the third day in a row, making the flight path of the stealth aircraft predictable

the lack of dedicated SEAD (Suppression of Enemy Air Defenses) support

the fact that the F-117 approached the Belgrade area flying at low level, jinking and banking

the Serbs knew that the F-117s were coming, because, they monitored U.S. and allied radio comms on UHF and VHF frequencies, which, at the time, were mostly unencrypted; were also able to intercept NATO plane’s ATO (Air Tasking Orders) that enabled them to put anti-aircraft batteries at positions close to the ground targets; relied on a network of spies who operated outside the Italian airbases spotting aircraft taking off and others, near the Serbian borders, who provided details about the incoming raids.

Anyway, the achievement of Colonel Dani Zoltan, who commanded the SAM battery of the 3rd Battalion and used a SAM system introduced in 1961, is impressive especially considering that, after shooting down “Vega 31”, “Hammer 34”, an F-16C of the 31st Fighter Wing piloted by Lt. Col. Dave Goldfein (future Chief of Staff of the United States Air Force) was also shot down by the 250th Air Defense Missile Brigade on May 2, 1999.

Moreover, it has also emerged that another F-117 was damaged by Serbian air defenses during Allied Force.

25 years after the famous and quite surprising, at that time, downing, the iconic F-117 continue to fly, despite being officially retired in 2008.

As we report quite frequently here at The Aviationist, F-117s are still flying not only for training purposes as adversary aircraft and cruise missile surrogate, but also for research, development, test and evaluation, possibly related to next generation programs.

In accordance with of the Nation Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) of 2007 (PL 109- 364, Section 136), 52 F-117 aircraft were retired and relocated to the Tonopah Test Range (TTR). Under the requirements of the NDAA, the USAF preserved each F-117 aircraft in Type-l000 (T-1000) storage, which maintains the aircraft in a condition that allows recall for future service. On 30 November 2016, Section 133 of Subtitle D of the National Defense Authorization Act repealed the requirement to preserve the F-117 aircraft in a recallable condition and the USAF intended to declassify, demilitarize, and disposition four F-117 aircraft per year.

The aircraft continued to be spotted, even more than it had happened until then, with the Nighthawks also deploying to several U.S. bases to carry out Dissimilar Air Combat Training with other U.S. types. Then, in 2021, the U.S. Air Force published the first official images of the type still involved in flight operations on the DVIDS (Defense Visual Information Distribution Service) network.

In September 2022 the Air Force Test Center published a Request For Information (RFI) about a possible 10-year contract, expected to start from January 1, 2024, for maintenance and logistics support services for the F-117A fleet at the TTR airfield, acknowledging that the U.S. Air Force is willing to keep the aircraft flying at least until 2034. Interestingly, the U.S. Air Force is about to complete the certification of the F-117s to refuel from the KC-46: a sign that the service plans to keep the Nighthawk flying for many more years.
