Among Ashes launches December 9 - Gematsu

Metafictional horror game Among Ashes will launch for PlayStation 5 via PlayStation Store and PC via Steam on December 9, developer Rat Cliff Games announced.

Among Ashes is a metafictional horror title about a haunted video game and the disturbing story behind its creation. It’s a stormy night in the early 2000s and your friend has sent you a link to “Night Call,” a horror game that he found online. As you play, strange things start happening in your apartment. Something is terribly wrong with the game. Among Ashes features an innovative, meta-framing device in which players will experience a full retro-inspired first-person survival horror game within another first-person horror game, in addition to a host of unique presentational touches, surprises, mechanics and puzzles that transport players back to the turn of the millennium—providing a terrifying dose of nostalgia in the process. In the retro-styled survival-horror “Night Call,” players will explore Stoker manor; solving puzzles and fighting off the nightmarish creatures that have infested its labyrinthian halls. In the real world, however, they’ll be haunted by the dark entities that have latched on to this strange game, as they frantically try to unravel the mystery behind the game and its enigmatic creator. Everdeep Aurora launches in Q3 2025 - Gematsu

2D adventure game Everdeep Aurora will launch for Switch and PC via Steam in Q3 2025, publisher Ysbryd Games and developer Nautilus Games announced.

“Choosing a limiting factor such as the small color palette available to the [Nintendo Entertainment System] forced us to challenge ourselves and create a whimsical world with built-in character,” said Nautilus Games co-founder Mikel Ojea in a press release. “We hope explorers find themselves in a simpler era as they immerse themselves in the Everdeep.”

Venture through civilization’s subterranean refuge as Shell, a little cat on a mission to reunite with her mother after catastrophic meteor showers separate their family. Bug Fables: The Everlasting Sapling version 1.2 update now available - Gematsu

Publisher Dangen Entertainment and developer Moonsprout Games have released the version 1.2 update for adventure RPG Bug Fables: The Everlasting Sapling in celebration of the game’s fifth anniversary, the companies announced.

The update adds the following content:

-Fishing in The Fishing Village – Catch worms and reel in some fun!

-New Post-Game Boss Fight – Face off against the heroes of legend in B.O.S.S. mode!

-Team Up with Allies – Watch allies you support join you through a new special medal!

-11 New Medals – Expand your strategies with even more new gameplay-altering medals!

Kanon for Switch update to add English and Simplified Chinese language support on December 5 - Gematsu

The Switch version of romance visual novel Kanon, which launched on April 20, 2023 in Japan, will be updated with English and Simplified Chinese language options on December 5, publisher PROTOTYPE announced. The opening movie will also be viewable in all three available languages (English, Japanese, and Simplified Korean).

The new languages are likely the same translations used for the PC version of Kanon that launched via Steam on June 20 worldwide.

While not announced, this update might also suggest the Switch version of Kanon will be released worldwide on the same date, as the publisher’s visual novel games normally launch day-and-date worldwide when an English language option is available.

Bushiroad Games and HAKAMA announce guild management RPG PROGRESS ORDERS for Switch, PC - Gematsu

Publisher Bushiroad Games and developer HAKAMA have announced PROGRESS ORDERS, a new guild management fantasy RPG for Switch and PC, the latest issue of Weekly Famitsu reveals. A release date was not announced.

PROGRESS ORDERS is the latest work from Yoshifumi Hashimoto, who is known for his previous work on the Story of Seasons and Rune Factory franchises.

In PROGRESS ORDERS, the player becomes an assistant guild master, who trains a party of adventurers belonging to the guild to send out to dungeons. In dungeons, players can enjoy unique command-based RPG battles that utilize foresight abilities. Outside of training and battle, players will be to enjoy various other activities, such as guild management, daily life, and romance with other characters.

Shiren the Wanderer: The Mystery Dungeon of Serpentcoil Island coming to PC this winter - Gematsu

Spike Chunsoft will release dungeon RPG Shiren the Wanderer: The Mystery Dungeon of Serpentcoil Island for PC via Steam this winter, the company announced. A specific release date and price will be announced at a later date.

The base game will feature all free updates previously released for the Switch version. The paid downloadable content “Plus Pack” will also be available at launch, as well as the digital original soundtrack, which features 109 tracks totaling over 330 minutes.

Shiren the Wanderer: The Mystery Dungeon of Serpentcoil Island first launched for Switch on January 25 in Japan and February 27 worldwide.

Forensics investigation simulation game TOKYO PSYCHODEMIC will launch for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Switch, and PC via Steam on November 28 in the west, Gravity Game Arise announced. It will support English, Korean, Traditional Chinese, and Simplified Chinese language options.

In Japan, TOKYO PSYCHODEMIC launched for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Switch, and PC on May 30. The console versions are available both physically and digitally.

Based on information of unsolved cases that arrive at the detective agency, you will investigate the various circumstances that may be involved, such as the victim’s personal information, activity history from security cameras, etc. Collect and confirm the information on the evidence board and seek out to the truth.

Investigations

The investigation of a crime will be based on images of evidence from crime scenes, surveillance cameras, etc. Confirm the items, people, and points of interest involved in the case. Especially from security cameras, it is possible to confirm the behavior of the victims and others. From the moment of the incident, including before and after, every piece of information will allow you to infer the reason why an incident occurred. Use the evidence board to deduce how the evidence gathered relates to the case.

On Your Tail delayed to December 16 for PC, February 2025 for Switch - Gematsu

Publisher Humble Games and developer Memorable Games have delayed story-driven life simulation game On Your Tail from its previously planned November 21 release date to December 16 for PC (Steam) and February 2025 for Switch.

“We’re sorry for the very short notice but we want On Your Tail to be the best experience possible for the players, so we have made the difficult decision to slightly delay the game in order to make your trip to Borgo Marina even more unforgettable,” Memorable Games said in a message.

“We can assure you this was not an easy decision to make and that’s why we’ve been silent on the release date lately.”
