I'm still upset about how in order to keep the main heterosexual love story intact, suits writers decided to damage Harvey's commendable character development in season 4. Harvey Specter, who has a CHIP ON HIS SHOULDER THE SIZE OF A MOUNTAIN ABOUT INFIDELITY told Mike to get back together with his girlfriend who cheated on him WITH HIS RIVAL.
fuck all the way off. my harvey would never do that.
#ik it's been said 100 times but IT ANGERS ME SO MUCH#it's so stupid it's almost funny#and that too he says that cause donna convinced him#i hated donna at time and this was one of those times#I'm rewatching suits so gonna rant#harvey specter#mike x harvey#marvey#suits usa

Yo , can you do the famous reader one but with characters ¿? Sorry if I was not clear :p
my bad, it's not ur fault I was being dumb. I'm also writing this at 3:00 am, after procrastinating for a week, so sorry for any typos in advance. enjoy!
Finney
Will probably keep his distance from u.
Will admire u from afar, kinda like how he was with Donna, just a bit more extreme since ur famous.
This boy will just stare at you from across the room. No shame whatsoever. Can't hold eye contact for shit tho, and easily flustered.
Since ur famous, I'd imagine you'd be like a child act or actress, so Finney would go to the movie theatre every Friday with Robin or Gwen to see ur movies.
(just remembered how Robin is 6 feet under rn, I'm imagining Finney carrying a pile of bones in a bucket labeled "Robin" to the movies, LMAO, anyways...)
Since he's short on cash (I headcanon he's broke af, I mean he's 13) he'll hideout in the bathroom once ur movies over, then wait for the next audience to come and watch it, then sneak into that booth so he can watch it again. Like, mf u could just go home? But he's committed to u.
When yall got together, the whole school was SHOOK, the people were pondering over yall for days.
You'd have to reassure him a lot. He gets insecure a lot by ur status and what people say.
But Robin will beat the haters up!😁
Robin
will def beat up all ur haters, whether yall are dating or not.
He'll try to act non-chalant and tough around you when he's literally freaking out the moment u walk into the room.
Imagine him just locking eyes with u while he's beating up some kid, just holding eye contact mid punch cause he thinks it makes him look cool.
And ur just like "😐".
Like I said with Finney, he'll go to the movie theatre EVERYDAY to watch ur movies instead of studying.
He just ignores doing it cause homework's for losers.
Like aren't u failing math?
U get scary dog privileges once yall start dating. He's always staring people down when they look at you for too long, he's super protective.
Yall would def be a power couple.
Bruce
He fangirls over u.
Thats it, that's all I have to say.
He ain't a stalker, but is 100% ur biggest fan.
Will flirt with u, get u small gifts, and invite u to his baseball games.
Will definitely serenade u with a guitar in the middle of the hallway, then laugh when u get embarrassed.
He brags to his friends about u all the time.
Nobody's surprised when yall start dating.
The popular boy and the movie star, it was a match made in heaven.
Like with Robin, yall would be a power couple.
Vance
He's literally ur biggest hater, polar opposite of Bruce.
He doesn't really hate u, he's just trying to deny his feelings for u by becoming ur mortal enemy.
He's trying to convince himself he doesn't like you, even tho he thinks about u (and pinball) all day.
Teases u, calls u names, goes out of his way to ruin ur day, he's honestly a menace.
"Vance! Did you see y/n's new movie? It's so cool!" "She looks like a seahorse be fr." "😟"
Vance is just insecure, with his dirty reputation, it's hard for him to believe someone like you would want someone like him.
He's unsure of how to process his emotions correctly, so he just bottles them up. Then imagine yall get into an argument, then all his pent-up feelings come pouring out in an aggressive confession, then yall get together.
The world was SHOOK, again.
Nobody could connect the dots, the goofy "bad boy" dating the movie star? Nobody predicted it.
He keeps his affection under the radar, wouldn't want to ruin his reputation.
He claims ur turning him into a "softie", but he's totally whipped for u.
Scary dog privileges, too.

Why did Claire convince Carmy to drop HIS ideas for the menu?
So, did somebody else get upset when Carmy explained to Sydney that Claire made him realize "there are things I don't really care about...anymore" about the menu?
Like, wtf dude, this is YOUR menu, the whole point of your restaurant, why the fuck do you now think you don't care?
On Claire changing the menu
I think that Storer was really smart for not showing that scene, where Claire is comforting Carmy after his panic attack. Now, from what we can gather of the actual events, Carmy got a panic attack, then they talked about Donna driving a car through the wall of their house, and sometime before or after all that, they talked about the menu. A couple of things that, if they happened, could have been big red flags about Claire:
Why was Claire's solution to tell Carmy to forget about his original ideas for the menu? that is like "Oh honey does this cause your anxiety (you know, because you care about it) why don't you just drop it? Maybe then you will be happy" You have to treat the anxiety, not avoiding the things you care about because of it.
Did Claire dismiss Carmy's intentions on the menu, because it had to do with Syd? Like, did she actually recommended to drop it all because it would mean that Carmy and Sydney won't collaborate anymore? because Claire felt threatened? We all saw the way Claire looked at Syd.
Even if you could justify all this by "she was doing the best she knew to help him" I think the audience wouldn't have appreciated her talking Carmy into forgetting his vision for his own restaurant. That is the equivalent of Mary Jane telling Peter not to be Spiderman.
Now, and this is the really weird part, at this point Carmy is trying to make all the dishes his family made, but change them a little, recontextualize them. To make them "his own" and he told Claire about that, he part that is not clear is why he dropped the "thoughtful chaos menu" and just left the "chaos menu" My interpretation of this, again, is because thoughtful chaos can only be made by Carmy and Syd's collaboration. So Claire agreed with the things relating to the Berzatto traditions, but not, idk, Carmy's original vision for the restaurant, which may have not so much to do with her mother's recipes, and wanted to explore more to create something unique with Syd ideas too?
On Claire comforting Carmy.
Just a little last note. They had sex. Like, Claire and Carmy had sex after he got a panic attack, and the next morning he was still stressed as fuck. While just the memory of Sydney was able to calm him down from a huge panic attack (while he was thinking of Claire). Jejejeje.
Now...being serious. Idk if you think that offering sex for calming someone down is cute...I don't think it is. Even if they have already calmed down and you just want to "make their night better" or whatever.
Some people get really into sex while they get stressed, but a panic attack is more of an "I am dying' feeling, and it can depend on the person, Carmy is the kind who gets frustrated, exasperated, and violent while trying to handle his anxiety. So trying to make somebody not feel any of that that by asking them to be in the mood for fucking...Like "Oh, the trauma that you are trying to process right now honey, just don't feel it, but I want to fuck, and I know it can make you feel better" Personal opinion: gives me the ick, like 'Oh, my affection must be the answer to all your problems, my love is the only medicine you need" It all gets worse in my mind when I remember this woman is an emergency doctor, she is supposed to know some recommended procedures to help people with panic attacks, maybe she used them before they got into bed, but still, she can only presume that he is in a different head space just a few hours later, and you kinda look like and ashole if she offers and you say no.
I just don't like the idea of forcing mood changes on someone by offering them affection, especially sex. That can be really toxic for both parties.
#this post is all over the place but idk#Carmy changing his original vision because of his relationship with Claire still bothers me#the bear meta#sydcarmy#sydney adamu#the bear#carmy the bear#carmen berzatto#sydney x carmy#the bear fx#carmy berzatto#carmy x sydney#syd adamu

it makes me sad when people say rose had no choice in the bad wolf bay ii scene because i feel like it's 'cause they get stuck on the beginning of it. people stop at "but he's not you." (by which she means that ten and tentoo have seperate bodies, not that she doesn't think tentoo is the doctor) and that's so sad because the scene is so short but so nuanced!
at first the doctor is absolutely trying to manipulate her into staying in pete's world. whether it's because he loves her or not, that is no good. and we know that; rose knows that, the doctor knows that. but he is in so much pain that he is still in his timelord body, his part-human self will be with rose and happy and all the shit davros said to him? of couse he comes at it with a "punishment" mentality for himself, because tentoo is him and he is tentoo and he hates himself- but he loves rose more than he hates himself.
after this, of course, it's donna who is able to cut through this bs and tell the meta-crisis doctor to tell rose what this is all really about ("it's better than that, though. can't you see what he's trying to give you? tell her, go on.") and from there on the entire thing is absolutely in rose's court because tentoo, in his love and his humanity and single heart - only wants her to stay with him if that's what she wants! he says IF YOU WANT. it's a major thing, that he offers her an out there even though we know how much he loves and missed her. it's just like he offered to bring her home in born again when she couldn't understand the regeneration. it's her choice to grow old with tentoo, and it's something she absolutely wants- rose wants the doctor, not the traveling (she says this in the parting of the ways)
in the end, rtd gives rose literally all of the power by having her pull both doctors aside and choose which path she is going to take.
it's so impactful because it takes the doctor trying to exile rose and his otherself to rose taking the power away from him (as she does in potw and doomsday) and reclaming her authority in her life.
this is why ten watching rose and tentoo kiss hurts so much, because it goes from him leaving them behind to him being exiled from their world and their happiness- which is the beginning of the end for him truly. and it is absolutely intentional.
this scene renders ten completely powerless in the end, until all he can do is walk back to an empty existance knowing what he could have and does have but cannot experience.
rose is special because yes, for a while, it is the universe and the traveling she loves, but it becomes much, much larger than that. it becomes her loving the doctor and pledging to not have a life we see her long for by her eagerness in tsp, to be by his side forever. whatever that would have meant. but with tentoo she chooses him because this way she gets everything she wanted and deserves, she gets to be selfish for herself, she gets to put herself before the doctors - which i think is very, very important. that's good.
it's not fair to rose to not understand that by kissing tentoo she was making an active choice to spend her life with him because by saying those words he confirmed to her that he is the man that she loves and lost and came looking for, the same way ten convinced her he was the man she became the bad wolf for by telling her the first word he said to her was "run" and taking her hand.
rose is not stupid and she is not shallow. she chose tentoo. she is still a bad bitch defending the earth and perhaps beyond with the doctor. she just also gets to keep her family and sense of self too. all the doctor ever wanted was for rose to have a good life, and somehow he got to know that she has one, because it's one spent with him and he knows how loved she will be. how loved she is, twice over in one lifetime.
#dw#doctor who#rose tyler#tentoorose#rambles#it makes me sad that ppl think they would just roll over and accept a boring life. whatever boring is.#you should immediately know they're off either travelling the entire earth of they're at torchwood chasing aliens etc#they are MAKING life good whatever that means bc they know how bleak having all of time and space is without each other

Doctor Who - The Trickster Discourse
While I'm glad everyone is discussing Sarah Jane Adventures after so many years, there's one bit of the discourse around The Trickster that has been bugging me:
Everyone is saying the Trickster was defeated by children. Or by Sarah Jane. And that this makes him a laughable threat. But... he wasn't. And he isn't.
The first time we see him in "Whatever Happened to Sarah Jane", it was Andrea Yates -- the 56 year old, not the 13 year old -- rescinding her agreement that banished him.
The second time, it was the Smiths sacrificing themselves in "The Temptation of Sarah Jane Smith".
The third time, in "The Wedding of Sarah Jane Smith", it was Peter rescinding his agreement.
Now the kids were a major help in all of these cases - Maria made her father and Andrea aware of the time discrepancy, Rani was able to inform Sarah Jane how the Trickster took over and let slip her name in front of Mrs. Smith, the kids helped the Doctor close the time loop. And Sarah Jane too was not entirely helpless - she convinced Andrea and Peter not to let the Trickster win, and tried to fix her own mistake in "Temptation".
But the ultimate defeat depended on someone letting themselves die tragically, for the sake of Sarah Jane and the world.
Even if we look back at "Turn Left", which was caused by a member of the Trickster's brigade, that took Alternate Donna's death to fix. The Doctor could do nothing. Only if his SJA Series 5 appearance had gone as planned would a child have been the main instrument of defeat, since Sky would have given up her human form.
So if the Trickster were ever to come into the main series of Doctor Who, that is not a light threat. Because no matter what, someone is doomed to die.

Still waters run deep: Dick Grayson x f!readear
Summary: Here are some things I heard about myself: Kind of a girl that looks young, innocent and harmless. Kind of a girl you know is the weakest link in direct combat. Kind of a girl you tend to ignore beacuse she is no threat. The girl you feel the need to protect. (ironically, completely different than the previous one). A sensitive one. A shy one. Well, tonight I'm going out in sole purpose to have some fucking fun, cause life has been a mess lately. So, let's see if I'm going to act like shy and sensitive one after a couple of drinks. Oh, Dick's not going to like it.......
Warnings: cursing, a bit of smut (minors DNI!), mentions of illegal activities,
First person POV
This has been a hell of a week.
Between fighting with titans and keeping my secret identity a secret I also had to deal with day-to-day regular job and it made it twice as much energy consuming than for everyone else.
Of course, my thoughtful (and a bit too possessive) boyfriend tried to convince me to give one it up and commit to the Titans fully, but much to his disappointment (to say the least) I refused , trying to balance it all.
So, can you blame for being stressed and drained?
Given all that I had two options – lay down, getting all my emotions suppress me or quite literally shake it off. A little party was just what I needed. But going out alone was not something I enjoyed, so the plan was to somehow convince Donna and Dawn to have a girl’s night out.
“I’m out” Donna muttered, not even raising eyes from the book she was reading
“Oh, come on” I whined “all work and no play…..”
“Don’t.” she cut me off, warning in her voice and instinctively I looked down moved by her harsh tone “Sorry Y/N. You know I don’t mean in in a bad way, but seriously. I really need some time alone, all right? I’ll join you next time.”
“Fine. I won’t push you. Hopefully Dawn will be up for the party.”
“Sorry, Y/N, I’m staying too. Hank has been going through something and I need to get him to talk before it gets out of hand.” Dawn chimed in
“Right. Can’t risk the big guy losing control.” I muttered getting her point but still disappointed
“No hard feelings though, right?” the blonde asked putting a hand on my shoulder, reassuringly
“No, no, of course not. I guess I will just go alone than.”
“Is your boyfriend not up to some dance with you?” Donna smirked knowing well enough how Dick felt about any and every party. Bruce had him discouraged during the years when he was forced to attend Wayne’s yearly galas. Therefore, I was not even going to ask him.
“Such a surprise, right?” I rolled my eyes ironically
“You know, maybe you should give him a chance.” Dawn suggested “I’m pretty sure he will go anywhere with you.”
“The point is, I want to party, not watch him eye everyone in search of a potential threat, so…. yeah, I’m going alone.”
“Stay safe than” Donna muttered, back into lecture
“She knows how to handle herself. Have fun Y/N.
It took my quite a while to get all dolled up, wearing the dress that surely drew attention and was far more revealing than the hero suit I was used to, and putting a bit more makeup than on a daily basis. Truly, even with all my self-doubts and modesty, I had to admit I looked hot as hell. This is going to be a good night. I though as I sneaked out the tower.
***
Dawn was only partially right. I knew how to handle myself, but still all I heard from people was that H/N was the weakest link in combat. That Y/N was that kind of girl that pose no threat and the one you don’t really give attention to. It always made me …. sad and a bit angry for being seen like this. There was so much more to me they never seen. But tonight, tonight I was going to let it all go and just let loose. Knowing well enough, Dick would never approve of my plan for the night. Well, I was not his possession, was I?
***
Third person POV
Dick was working out, not surprising to anyone. He needed a good training after the whole week of stress, anxiety and fast action not that it was going to change anytime soon. He was truly hoping this will clear his mind, but clearly it did not. So the other option was to find his girlfriend and let her soothing presence and her soft touches calm him down. He truly had no idea how she ended up with him. He was rage, she was clear thinking, he was impulsive and a bit reckless, she was always the one with the plan and clear vision. He missed her. For the last days they didn’t really spend much time together and when they did it was usually just sleeping together, tangled with other, trying to get as close as possible without disrupting the rest they both so desperately needed. Passing by was not good for the relationship and she pointed it out once, when instead of spending time with her he was up late, but he never listened. Until now. With the best intention to make up for his negligence he started searching the tower for her, but the girl was nowhere to be found.
“Has anyone seen Y/N? I can’t find her anywhere.”
“Seems to me like she finally broke.” Hank muttered with mouth full of some crazy dish he made “got to admit, she was pretty resistant in ditching you.”
“I’m serious. Did she left the tower?”
“Do you think you can keep her a prisoner here? She’s a free spirit, a fierce woman with ……”
Since Hank was not helping, Dick decided to ask Donna and Dawn if they knew anything. At first, they kept their mouth shout, not revealing the plan their friend made, but seeing his sad puppy eyes and real worry on the boy’s face they gave in.
“She went to a party” he repeated a bit confused. Why? Why would she go without him? Why wouldn’t she tell him a thing? Was she going for a one night stand? “Where?”
“She wasn’t specific about that, but knowing Y/N she joined the first club on the way.”
“I need to find her.”
“No, you don’t. She deserves fun.” Dawn objected
“It’s not like I’m going to destroy it” he stated, crossing arms on his chest “what?” his face dropped a bit upon seeing girls’ mocking expressions
“Not at all, Dick. You’re just a party animal.”
“I….” he tried to say something, but at the same time his phone rang and he was fast to pick it up seeing it was Y/N calling. “Y/N? Baby, where are you? are you all right? Did something happen? I will pick you up just tell me….”
“Dickie….” She slurred “I’m having so much fun! All those boys are just so friendly, you know. Wish you were here, boyfriend. TIME OF MY LIFE!” and then she just hanged up on him.
“Was she drunk? She never gets drunk.” Dawn was now a bit concerned about her friend safety
“Are you sure that she knows how to handle herself now?” Donna was obviously sarcastic on the outside but quite as much worried inside “she has no real fighting skills and if some creeps are all over her…..”
“Stop it!” Dick felt his blood boil at the mere thought of any other dude touching or even getting close to his girlfriend. If anyone were to cross the line and to hurt her, he would have no mercy and no hesitation in permanently hurting all of the perpetrators “We’re getting her home. I’ll track her phone. “ he rushed to the elevator grabbing his jacket on the way, ready to fulfill his knight in shining armor duties.
“Do you think we should go after him?” Dawn looked at Donna. Dick was really in the state of mind in which he was capable of everything.
“I’m not his babysitter” Donna scoffed “And neither are you.”
“But maybe we should make an exception and just this once follow him?” Dawn insisted
“What about Hank?” Wondergirl asked
“What about me?” said boy came through the door, a bowl full of food still in his hands.
“He can join.” Dawn shrugged, not really giving the boy any liberty to decide for himself
“What exactly are you girls getting me into?”
“A party, apparently. Main stars being very drunk Y/N and very angry Dick.”
“Well if that’s the show I’m all in.” Hank was already halfway to the door. “Are you coming or what?”
***
First person POV
I made a really, really good decision to come here. After a couple of drinks all of my inhibitions dissolved and I wasn’t the quiet member of the team anymore. Oh no! Now I was the star of my own show! Dancing like there was no tomorrow, moving my body, showing my best moves. Old, quiet Y/N was long gone, the sex queen raised. Apparently I was not solitary in that opinion as a couple of guys, I was eyeing for some time now, came closer to me, following my dance moves. One of them grabbed my hips from behind as the other put his on my waist. Shit, they were both so hot and I giggled seductively trying to imagine how surprised Dick would be right now if he saw me. Not a good girl anymore! Not the one he could omit and neglect and left high and dry, unfinished . This was not a revenge or a payback, this was my way of getting what I needed, what I wanted, what I deserved. If my boyfriend wasn’t up to the job I needed some other forms of entertainment.
The song changed into something far more sexual and the guy moving behind me started to pull me closer as his friend leaned in, his faces inches from mine. I did not stop him as his lips crashed on mine, his hands started roaming my body, caressing my skin pulling me off the dance floor. I let him fully take control of me. After all, like I said I was eyeing him all night, giving signals to come closer and have his fun.
“come with me, baby. Let’s go somewhere private and quiet, shall we. I’ll make you feel good, you look like you need it”.
“Less talking, more action” I whispered in his ear “I want to get you all alone, loverboy.”
The last sentence finally made him grab my hand tighter and get me out, downstairs. Apparently the club was situated above some old bunker, not that I cared when I picked it as my nightly destination.
Third person POV
***
WHAT THE FUCK WAS THAT!?
Getting the signal from her phone took Dick just a few seconds and getting to the place where it came from, mere minutes. He was quite relieved to realize she wasn’t far but the view before his eyes made him regret getting here so fast. His love, his sunshine, his girlfriend was practically making out with some dude, that wasn’t him. In the middle of the club! What happened to the girl reluctant to any form of PDA!?
FUCK!
This fucking guy was touching her in the way no one else but him was supposed to! Getting his dirty hands on her perfect hips, trying to sneak them under her dress to feel her soft, smooth skin. For a while his mind was blurred with the memory of her naked body underneath him, whining and squirming in pleasure only he was capable of giving her. The flashback of her begging him for more, more…. Of her hands all over him, pulling him in, her soft moans as he was getting her high, her quiet words assuring him that she loved him so, so much and that he was doing so, so good…..
I need more, Dick…… please…. I need you so bad…..
I love you baby, I love you so much. Tell me you’re mine.
I’m yours, Dickie. Only yours…..
And I’m yours, baby. Let me show you…..
FUCK! FUCK! He was going to kill him for even looking in her direction! His poor baby girl. Seduced, probably drugged and used! The sudden movement, coming from the direction where she was, made him come back to reality and as he saw that lapdog drug her out into more secluded part of the building, the Robin with his ruthlessness took over his mind and action. Oh, this was going to be a bloodbath.
Just a couple minutes later, the rest of the Titans team entered the club. At first glance everything was fine, but Dawn was quick to pick up on Dick’s figure disappearing behind the back. It took her a second to figure out his posture was now different, more stiff, more grim, all his muscles tensed and fist clenched. The only things he was missing were mask and cape, but besides that, he wasn’t Dick Grayson anymore.
“Fuck!” Donna hissed realizing the same thing.
“What? What is going on?” Hank wasn’t even half as fast in recognition as girls, confused and lost in the situation.
“Just shut up and hurry or someone will end up hurt!”
***
First person Pov
“Where are you taking me? “ I giggled almost tripping over my legs, letting the stranger guide me
“Patience, baby, we’re almost there.
“I need you now” I whined, not being patient.
“I now, sweetie, I know. But trust me, once we’re in the safe place you won’t get rid of me….” He trailed, something dark in his voice
“I surely hope so…..” I started but didn’t get a chance to finish the sentence as something dark and stinking covered my head, my face included cutting off the oxygen supply and making me black out.
Oh, fuck….
***
I have no idea how long I was unconscious but I woke up to the sound of a few male voices, three or four most probably, but the extreme headache I was now experiencing did nothing to my evaluative skills. Oh, and I was also tied up, not able to move, my hands above my head, facing all the capturers.
“how many pills did you give her?” one of the man said
“One as planned.” The other replied
“Well, if it was one she would be up by now, you idiot! I’m serious, how many!?”
“One or two additional may have slipped in.”
“You dumbass! We need her aware of what’s happening! It makes everything far more funny.”
“I agree with him. The screams and attempted fight just spice the whole act” Ok, that was the third
“All of you shut up now!” the last one. So my calculations were right. There were four of them. Despite the situation, I congratulated myself in the back of my head. I groaned a bit and it got their attention “Oh, the princess is finally waking up. Welcome back to the land of the living, sweetie.”
“Where….. where am I?” I muttered narrowing my eyes. Gods, why all of the kidnappers always had to use the brightest light available.
“Well, it really depends from the point of view. From mine, you are on the verge of heaven, from yours probably first step of hell.”
“Are you the boss?” I looked him straight into the eyes
“ Are you always so eloquent?” he crouched next to me and grabbed my face painfully “and here I was thinking you were only a pretty face and a nice ass” he slap my back and I flinched. What did I got myself into?
“What are you going to do to me?” I sobbed, tears falling down my cheeks now.
“Oh, there it is. You are finally realizing what is going to happen to you, don’t you? Such a pathetic little bitch. Probably forgotten by a busy boyfriend, am I right? Desperate for entertainment and attention. Those are the easiest catch.”
I shook my head abruptly, the mascara smudged all over my face, vision blurry.
“Don’t cry princess. Where we are sending you, you’re going to have plenty of boys ready to thoroughly devour your attributes” the man laughed viciously. “Am I right boys?”
“So what is it? Some sort of trafficking ring? You sell girls to the brothels?” I gasped in terror, my eyes growing wide and mouth falling open in awe.
“You little pinhead” he cooed “you’re lucky you’re pretty, because sensibleness is not your strongest suit. Yes, we will send you to one of our massage parlors. The clients will love you. And hey, another good thing. You will get to meet with some other bitchy hoses like you. After all, you were asking for it, weren’t you, you little slutty whoredog?” he leaned across, his face inches from mine.
“Ok, I think that’s enough.” I stated, becoming calm and sober in a blink of an eye. Before any of the guys wrapped their heads around the situations I did a flip, kicking their boss straight into the jaw, probably causing the ostectopy and sending him flying back. One out, three to go. The second one came right at me but I used my strength to hoist up and wrap my legs around his neck.
“Here’s a taste of your own medicine” I spat, now causing him to black out due to the lack of oxygen. “Not so nice is it?”
Two to go.
The third man came from behind me with some stick in his hands, his gaze fixed solely on my face. Oh, poor one, he thought he got himself some crazy weapon. Fool. It was way too easy to just trip him up, causing the guy to make friends with the floor.
“You bitch!” right, there was the last one. Probably the smartest (irony of course) observing my moves and trying to get the best strategy to get me.
“Please, tell me you are at least a bit better in fighting than those scumbags” I sighed in desperation. Honestly, my hands was becoming a bit sore and I wanted to get over this situation.
“You bitch!” he yelled again. Definitely wasn’t the one with wide stock of words, but what can you expect in his profession. Taking cue from his friend, he tried to gather himself some gear, settling on a rusty chain laying nearby, spinning it over, almost hitting me. I just moved a bit to the right and then to the left and then a bit more to the wall, the man following me closely still playing with the chain. In the final moment I ducked and the weapon bounded off the wall hitting him right in the face, knocking him out. So, all four hurt, unconscious and defeated. The only problem for now was getting out of the rope that hamstringed my wrists.
“Do you need help with that?” a familiar voice and a familiar face egressed from the shadows.
“Nah, not really. I can handle myself” I smirked casually. In some other circumstances I would probably add a shrug but it was a bit impossible now.
“Mhm, I see” Dick came closer, stopping just a foot away from me. All of a sudden the closeness made me away of my vulnerable position. Ironically, I was not scared standing with my hands up in front of four dangerous men, but became paralyzed in front of my boyfriend. And shit if he didn’t; know that.
“Did you follow me? How much did you see? Wait, how long were you creeping there?” I tried to take control of the situation.
“Long enough to see you to do some improper things with someone that wasn’t me.”
“I bet he learned his lesson by now” I pointed my head towards said man lying on the floor, stepping from one foot to another. The position was getting more and more uncomfortable with every second.
“Oh, not even close. It’s me who will give him a lesson. When I’m done there will be nothing to pick.”
“Dick….” I whined, now really in pain.
“You got some moves baby” oh, this jerk really enjoyed having me on his mercy “why did you never show it in the tower?”
“You know, I’m really living by the still waters run deep rule. I…..” I groaned a bit and his eyes darkened at the sound “I like the element of surprise.”
“Do you? Well, this really was a surprise to me. In more than one way.” His face was now inches away from mine and I felt my cheeks (and not only them) growing hot.
“Dickie…..” I whined again
“By the way, are those the guys who were engaged in human trafficking? The one who sell girls to brothels? The ones we were trying to track for the last month?”
“Yes…. I…..”
“So this was your plan all along?! Did you know how much danger you were in!?” his voice grew a bit more angry now. He was probably imagining all the things that could have happened to me. It served him right! “What if they were stronger than you? What if you weren’t able to defeat yourself? What if…..?”
“Grayson!” I yelled in frustration cutting him off.
“What is it babygirl?” he faked innocence.
“Can you… can you get me out of this ropes? Please? It hurts now. ”
“Don’t know. I saw you doing some things I didn’t like tonight. I think you deserve a bit of punishment for that” he smirked.
“Dickie….. please, please…” I moaned in that special way and it turned him on at once as he crashed his lips on mine, one of his hands lifting me up motioning to wrap my legs around his waist, the other untying the rope finally setting my arms free. As soon as he did both of his hands circled around my waist pulling me closer to his chest, squeezing me against his body while his lips and the kiss became faster, hungrier, more passionate and predatory. Not that I complained as my own fingers ghosted over his arms and chest, going down to the hem of his shirt, slowly peeling it of him. He groaned and pushed me to the wall to enable himself to pull that useless piece of material over his head. God, he was so well built it took my breath every time I saw him shirtless. He was so warm and strong I instantly felt safe, craving his touch, his attention and affection tossing my own shirt away.
“What happened to you?” he muttered against my skin, his lips moved to my neck and shoulder covering it with kisses and hickeys.
“What…. What do you mean?” I gasped as he found one particularly sensitive spot.
“We are practically in a public place. Everyone can nail us going so physical” his lips ghosted over my half-exposed breast “you were always so private, babe…..”
“I missed you” I confessed “and I honestly don’t care anymore. I need you. I want you. I don’t care who can see us…. Make love to me…..” I whispered and felt his pulse raise.
“I missed you too…..” his hands reached towards the clasp of my bra, letting my breast free “I’m gonna make you feel so good babe….”
***
“I don’t want to see anymore of this. I’m gonna be sick” dark haired girl standing in the corner turned on her heel and rushed out.
“Well, I am quite enjoying the show” the muscular boy let out a laugh but being hit through the head by his blonde girlfriend crouched and they both left the room as well. The only people present were two very longing for each other young adults, too busy with themselves to care about the rest of the world.

“Because what is a coincidence but a form of accident?”
So I went home for Christmas for the first time in like four years, which was really nice. Sometimes it’s good to be surrounded by family. But try as I might, I couldn’t convince a room full of adults who have never actually seen Doctor Who to watch the new Christmas special.
Clearly, my family is a little bit lame.
Which means I was late to watching The Church on Ruby Road, but finally got into it the other day and y’aaaaall, that was cute.
15 is gonna be his own whole thing, and I’m climbing aboard, for better or worse. Are we pandering to gen-z a little bit? Yes. But I think I’m okay with it. Sometimes you need to shake shit up.
Wherein the Doctor meets Ruby Sunday, a ‘foundling’ born on Christmas Eve, that has been having a ton of weird accidents and/or coincidences. Hijinx and numerous outfit changes ensue.
Everyone is talking about the fashion, and I love that 15 is just like ‘I’m gonna do whatever, why are we always wearing the same damn thing?’ Amazing kilt? Yes. Gorgeous leather jacket that seems like a callback to something Donna had worn with 10? Absolutely. Weird little zip up sweaters? For sure.
Baby boy, you are gonna be SO interesting.
Okay so, Ruby was a baby abandoned on Christmas Eve, and then adopted by her foster mother. Once again we get like a tiny baby companion, this girl is 19 because of course she is. But she’s just living her life and dropping shit and tripping over things and weird things are happening to her and she thinks it’s all good but we can see weird little hands causing all of her mishaps and the Doctor is following her a little bit because he’s got an inkling something weird is happening.
My favorite part of his lurking is obviously when he runs into her in the club - beauty is DANCING IT OUT. I absolutely love it. He bi-generates and is like ‘yo I know what i need’ and he just tears up the dance floor. Sometimes you need to get sweaty and let your brain drift away because there’s pulsing music and people everywhere. ‘Dance it out’ is one of the best ways to get over things, to remember you’re alive. I felt that so hard. I haven’t danced it out in FOREVER.
Anyway, we find out that she and her adopted mother are still fostering children, and on Christmas Eve, Ruby’s birthday, they get assigned another foundling baby who was ALSO just born that day, what a coincidence! All about coincidences, this episode.
So Ruby gets left with the baby while her mother pops out for something and SURPRISE! The baby gets taken through a window. Ruby obviously follows out the window, up to the roof, and sees little weird aliens taking the baby up a rope ladder, which she immediately starts to climb. Gotta love a new companion going for it.
The doctor sees her, and starts jumping from roof to roof to follow her, and he jumps onto the rope ladder too and they’re suspended precariously in the air. This little smartie pulls out a set of gloves - he says he invented them because he’s always hanging off of things. Each of them put one on, and they take the weight and the pressure and let the two of them dangle off the rope ladder, easy as anything.
This dude comes out swinging with these gloves - gloves that would have let Rose hang on and not been sucked into the other reality. Righting wrongs all over the place, it’s sweet.
So they climb up the rope and to a super weird wooden ship in the sky - we learn the creatures are goblins, and they’re immediately caught and tied up. But the Doctor can get out of that, obviously, and he’s saying that the goblins are gonna eat the baby and that coincidence is what makes the baby tasty, because that makes sense.
He says that the goblins went back in Ruby’s timeline and started weaving in her accidents and coincidences, entwining her and the baby, making a tapestry. He says it’s the language of luck, and it’s a new science to him, and he’s so excited by it. I always love how excited the Doctor gets when he comes face to face with something he doesn’t know.
Ruby calls the goblins time travelers and he gets so offended, saying “They are not time travelers. Excuse me! Time travelers are great. Like, the best. Like, wow.” It’s adorable. But he doesn’t tell her he is one. He also doesn’t tell her he’s an alien, at any point in their adventure. And she doesn’t ask. Which is interesting.
So they need to get out of the little hold they’re in to save the baby, and the Doctor realizes the ship is tied together with knots, so he has to learn that language too, and he does. They escape into some equivalent of ventilation shafts, and they stumble upon the main area of the ship where a ton of goblins are getting ready to devour a baby.
But FIRST, they’re gonna do a musical number? The lyrics of which explain what’s going on, and introduces the Goblin King? Because that’s something we’re doing now. I told you, I’m climbing aboard. So it’s hilarious when the Doctor and Ruby drop down from the rafters and the Doctor is like ‘I’m going with it’ and he joins in on the song, Ruby too. Like fuck it, this is weird and we’re DOING it.
So they use their part of the musical number to distract everyone and get their hands on the baby, and the Doctor reverses the power of his new fancy gloves to pull them down out of the ship, and back to Ruby’s apartment.
Nice and clean, right? Back in the house, the Doctor says he doesn’t think the ship will try to invade, that they thrive on accidents instead so they start running around the house making sure that nothing can go wrong. In the middle of it, Ruby’s mom comes home and they’re trying to explain the Doctor and reassure her that everything’s fine and the three of them are in the room with the baby and they’re talking about all the kids that Ruby’s mom has fostered, 33 including the baby.
The Doctor says “I’m adopted”, so we really are going with the timeless child thing, but the point is it’s a coincidence and there’s a weird storm brewing outside and then there’s a loud CRACK and the roof of the apartment has a giant seam running through it and the Doctor runs through the house to make sure everything is alright, he thinks that maybe the goblins have gone and wrecked the apartment as a parting gift, but when he makes it back to the bedroom, there is only the baby and Ruby’s mom. Ruby is gone.
And her mom has completely forgotten her. The pictures of all the foster kids she had on her refrigerator are gone, and she’s complaining about needing to foster this random baby on Christmas Eve, she’s clearly not the woman she was, and the Doctor realizes the goblins have gone, but they’ve gone back to the night Ruby was left outside a church, and have taken her instead.
Out to the TARDIS he goes to intercept them. And they’re there, the night Ruby was abandoned, singing again about how they’re going to eat her. So he uses his gloves again, he gets a hold of their rope ladder and he starts to PULL. Down, and down, and down. And the ship is directly over the church that’s got a nice pointy little steeple. And it gets impaled. And we see the steeple go directly through the Goblin King, and then boom, the entire ship disintegrates.
Super helpful, those gloves. Finding positivity in past trauma, and all that.
So the Doctor grabs baby Ruby and puts her outside the church door like she’s supposed to be, and she gets scooped up exactly the way she had been meant to. And the Doctor sees her mother walking away, and Ruby had so desperately wanted to know who she was, but he doesn’t go after her. I can’t help but think that’s going to be a thing, later. That sort of situation is always a thing, later.
Back in the present, the Doctor returns to the apartment and Ruby is fine, if a little confused. He tells her that they went back and she was gone and she doesn’t understand it but then he’s popping out again because he needs to help a woman who had gotten caught up in Ruby’s accidents and coincidences. Once that’s done, he’s out on the street again, about to go back inside but he stops and he says “maybe I’m the bad luck” so don’t worry y’all, not all that trauma is gone. He’s still doubting Doctor a little bit underneath.
Meanwhile, Ruby is putting it together a little bit. The stuff he had said about time travelers and how the goblins went back and how he mentioned spending a summer with Houdini and she grabs her coat and runs out to the street. And there’s the box. With its door open, just a bit ajar. And she peeks in, and then she circles it, touching the sides. She doesn’t SAY it’s bigger on the inside, but her face implies it.
And then she gets in. And she asks, “who are you?” and he just smiles all debonair and he says “I’m the Doctor.”
Basically, I’m bought in. Even if it was a little bit silly, and I never got an explanation about what the goblins really were or where they were from. Even if we’re using random gadgets now. Because each of them are their own thing, and that’s what’s so good about it. You have to let the last one go a little bit. You have let each one of them go, a little bit, and embrace whoever the Doctor is now. Which I’ve struggled with in the past, after Matt Smith I was devastated for a while and ended up just binging 12 and 13 a little begrudgingly, but I’m gonna follow 15 along his way, and it’s gonna be different and weird and good. It’s always good.
15, let’s get it.

~ Chapter 27 ~
Summary: Dean and Sam Winchester save a young woman —Natalie Johnson, from a coven of witches who are after her deceased grandmothers spell book. At first Dean doesn’t trust her, will he ever? Natalie is just simply a woman who gets roped up in the supernatural world from a mistake her grandmother made.
Pairing: Dean x OC
Warning: Age gap, slow burn, smut, language, GORE!!
Word Count: 2,901
A/N: I had nothing else to do so I might be able to post a few more chapters tonight. But y’all need to buckle up, cause this chapter is gory and the next few are full of suspense! This chapter is inspired by the Supernatural 11th episode in season 13 titled “Breakdown” where Donna’s niece gets kidnapped by a man selling human body parts to monsters. This is my take on it so nothing will be similar really lol.
It had been a week since Dean had dropped Natalie off at her house, and things had returned to something resembling normal. Natalie had been busier than usual, diving into research and helping Sam and Dean from behind the scenes as they went on hunts. Dean hadn't seen much of her lately, which should have been a relief—he needed the distance to clear his head—but, if he was being honest with himself, he missed her presence.
By Friday afternoon, they hadn't come across any new cases worth their attention, but Natalie's curiosity was piqued when she stumbled upon a disturbing pattern while doing research. A string of missing women in Virginia, all taken from bars scattered throughout the Appalachian Mountains. The women were all between the ages of 21 and 29, and the disappearances happened shortly after they left the bars alone. The police were stumped, unable to crack the case, but Natalie had a hunch that something unnatural was at work.
She brought the case to Sam and Dean, eager to follow the lead. "This has been happening for weeks, maybe longer," Natalie explained, showing them the details. "There's a clear pattern—the women are all taken within miles of each other, and the police have no idea what they're dealing with. I think it's worth looking into."
Dean glanced over the files, his brow furrowing. "Appalachian Mountains? That's a lot of ground to cover."
Sam nodded in agreement. "But the pattern's too strong to ignore. Could be something supernatural. Maybe a creature that's targeting young women."
Dean sighed, leaning back against the bunker's table. "Alright, let's pack up and head out."
It wasn't long before the Impala was loaded up and they were on the road, headed toward Virginia. Sam sat in the passenger seat, flipping through the police reports and trying to piece together the timeline of the disappearances, while Natalie settled into the back seat, exhausted from the week of nonstop work.
She yawned, resting her head against the window. "Wake me when we get there," she mumbled, her voice heavy with sleep.
Dean glanced in the rearview mirror, watching as Natalie's eyes fluttered shut. "You've been burning the candle at both ends," he commented, keeping his tone neutral but concerned.
Sam glanced back at Natalie, his expression softening. "She's been working hard lately."
Dean nodded but didn't say anything more. Instead, he focused on the road ahead, the rumble of the Impala's engine filling the quiet space. Natalie fell asleep quickly, her breathing evening out, and Dean couldn't help but glance at her every so often through the rearview mirror.
As the miles passed, Dean's mind drifted back to the past week, to the space that had grown between him and Natalie. He'd tried to push his feelings for her down, tried to focus on the job, on the routine, but it wasn't working. Seeing her now, curled up in the back seat, reminded him of how easily she had slipped past all his defenses.
She had become a part of their world—his world—without him even realizing it. And no matter how hard he tried to convince himself that she was just a friend, just someone who helped with research, he couldn't deny that there was something more.
Sam interrupted his thoughts, his voice cutting through the quiet. "This case... It's strange that there's no physical evidence. No bodies, no signs of struggle."
Dean tore his gaze from the rearview mirror and focused on his brother. "You thinking a creature?"
"Maybe," Sam replied. "Or something worse. We won't know until we get there and talk to some of the locals."
Dean grunted in agreement, but his mind wasn't fully on the case. It was still stuck on Natalie, on the way things had changed between them. He didn't know what to do with it, didn't know how to handle the feelings that kept bubbling up whenever she was around.
He pushed the thoughts aside, forcing himself to focus on the hunt ahead. They still had a few hours of driving to go before they reached the Appalachian Mountains, and once they were there, it would be time to work.
But for now, with Natalie sleeping peacefully in the back seat and the road stretching out before them, Dean let himself relax. Just for a moment.
By the time they reached the outskirts of the Appalachian Mountains, the sun was beginning to set, casting long shadows over the winding roads. Natalie stirred in the back seat, rubbing her eyes as she sat up, still groggy from her nap.
"Are we there yet?" she asked, her voice thick with sleep.
"Just about," Dean replied, glancing at her in the mirror. "You sleep okay?"
Natalie nodded, stretching her arms. "Yeah, better than I thought I would. How long was I out?"
"Couple of hours," Sam said, turning around to give her a reassuring smile. "You needed it."
Natalie smiled back, grateful for the rest, though her mind quickly shifted to the case. "Alright, what's the plan once we get there?"
Dean pulled the Impala into a small gas station parking lot just outside the town where the disappearances had taken place. "First, we check out the bars where the women were last seen. See if anyone remembers anything unusual. After that, we'll hit up the local authorities and see if they've missed anything."
Sam nodded, grabbing the files from the dashboard. "Sounds good. Hopefully, we can narrow down where the next target might be before anything else happens."
Natalie grabbed her own research notes from the back seat, already scanning through them. "I've got a couple of leads on possible creatures that could be involved. We can check them out once we're on the ground."
Dean shot her a glance, appreciating how prepared she always was. He wasn't used to working with someone who was as thorough as Sam when it came to research, but Natalie had proven herself time and again.
"Alright," Dean said, cutting the engine. "Let's see what we're dealing with."
As they stepped out of the Impala and into the cool Virginia air, Dean couldn't shake the feeling that this case was going to be more complicated than they'd originally thought. And, despite his best efforts to keep his emotions in check, the growing connection he felt with Natalie was only adding to the tension.
But for now, it was time to focus on the job. They had missing women to find, and whatever was lurking in the mountains wasn't going to stop on its own.
The frustration in the motel room was palpable. After speaking with locals at the bars, the authorities, and going through all of Natalie's leads, the case was turning into a dead end. They had been chasing shadows for hours, trying to piece together something that wasn't adding up. Dean, Sam, and Natalie were all on edge. Sam had disappeared into the bathroom for a shower, hoping it would clear his mind. Dean sat at the small table, moodily eating the rest of a burger, clearly upset that the case wasn't panning out the way they expected.
Natalie, feeling the tension in the room, stood by the window, glancing outside. She noticed a small neon sign flickering in the distance—a bar, just a short walk away. The idea of a drink sounded good right about now. She needed to clear her head and step away for a bit.
"I'm going to grab a drink at the bar down the street," she said, turning to Dean. "You wanna come?"
Dean shook his head without even looking up from his food. "Nah, I'm good. Not in the mood."
Natalie hesitated, feeling his frustration rolling off him in waves. "Alright, I won't be long," she said softly, grabbing her phone and jacket before heading for the door.
Dean gave her a quick nod, but as soon as the door clicked shut behind her, he felt a pang of regret. Maybe he should have gone with her. She had a right to be frustrated too, and honestly, a drink sounded good. But something in him held back, the weight of the case, the tension he felt around Natalie—it was too much.
As time went by, Dean couldn't relax. The food in front of him lost its appeal, and he found himself glancing at the clock more often than not. An hour passed, and there was still no sign of Natalie. That's when the knot of worry in his stomach began to tighten.
Dean picked up his phone and called her. It rang and rang, but there was no answer. He tried again, and still, nothing. The panic that had started as a whisper was now roaring in his chest. What if something happened?
Maybe she just went to her room instead...
He quickly grabbed his jacket and leaves, his heart racing as he knocks on her room's door but no answer. "Damn it", Dean lets out a shaky breath. He runs to the Impala, his knuckles turn white as he grips the steering wheel. The thought that she might be in danger, especially after everything they'd discovered about the missing women, gnawed at him. He should've gone with her. He knew better.
When Dean pulled up to the bar, he quickly jumped out of the car and hurried inside, scanning the room. It wasn't too crowded, but there were enough people around that it made it hard for him to get a clear view. He walked straight to the bartender.
"Hey, you seen a girl come through here? Dark hair, hazel eyes, about this tall," Dean said, gesturing her height. "Came in alone."
The bartender, a burly man with a tired expression, nodded. "Yeah, I saw her. She was sitting at the bar for a bit. Left about forty five minutes ago."
Dean's heart sank. "Did she leave with anyone?"
The bartender frowned, shaking his head. "Not that I saw. She left alone."
Dean's stomach twisted. He pulled out his phone and dialed her number again, the dread in his chest rising as it went to voicemail. But this time, he heard something—a faint ringing. Dean froze, trying to pinpoint where the sound was coming from. He followed the faint noise, pushing past a few tables toward the back of the bar, near the exit.
As he stepped outside, the ringing grew louder. His breath caught in his throat when he saw it—Natalie's phone, lying on the ground near the dumpster, the screen cracked, dirt and gravel smeared across the surface.
His blood ran cold.
He crouched down, picking up the phone carefully. His heart hammered in his chest as the reality of the situation hit him like a truck. Whoever had been taking the women had Natalie now. And she was alone, out there somewhere, without her phone, without backup.
Dean's mind raced, panic mixing with anger. How could he have let this happen? He should've gone with her. He knew the pattern—young women disappearing after leaving a bar. How could he have been so careless?
Without wasting another second, Dean rushed back to the Impala, peeling out of the parking lot and racing back to the motel. His mind was a whirlwind of worst-case scenarios, but he couldn't afford to lose it now. He had to stay focused.
Dean burst through the motel door, Sam jumping up awake from the couch at the sudden commotion. "What's going on?" Sam asked, his face creasing with concern as he saw the look on Dean's face.
"It's Natalie," Dean said, breathless. "She's gone."
Sam's eyes widened in shock. "What do you mean, she's gone?"
Dean threw her phone onto the table, his jaw clenched tightly. "She went to the bar, but she didn't come back. I found her phone outside, near the dumpster. Whoever's been taking the women has her."
Sam's face darkened with worry, and he quickly grabbed his laptop. "Okay, okay, we'll figure this out. There's gotta be something we missed." He started typing furiously, pulling up his notes and any leads they had left.
Dean paced the room, his hands clenched into fists. His mind was racing with guilt and anger. He should've been there. He should've gone with her. Now, she was in danger, and it was all because he hadn't acted sooner.
Sam worked through the night, diving deeper into the research, trying to find anything that could point them in the right direction. Hours passed, and with every minute that ticked by, the worry in Dean's chest grew heavier. He couldn't sit still.
"Come on, Sam," Dean muttered, his voice thick with frustration. "We need to find her."
Sam didn't look up, his eyes glued to the screen as he sifted through old records and maps of the area. "I'm trying, Dean. Just give me a little more time. There's gotta be something."
But time was running out. And Dean's fear was starting to overwhelm him. If they didn't find Natalie soon... he wasn't sure what he would do.
Natalie stirred, her head pounding and her vision blurry as she slowly woke up. The cold metal floor beneath her and the tight confines of a small cage made her senses snap to attention. Panic surged through her veins as memories came flooding back. She had left the bar, walking back to the motel, when someone grabbed her from behind, pressing a cloth over her face. The last thing she remembered was the sickly sweet scent of chemicals before everything went black.
Now, as her vision cleared, she realized she was trapped in a cage, somewhere dark and damp. The air smelled like mildew and blood, and the faint sound of crying made her stomach drop. Where the hell am I?
Her heart raced as she tried to orient herself, her eyes adjusting to the dim lighting of the basement she was in. The crying became louder, and when she peeked around the corner of her cage, what she saw made her blood run cold.
A woman, younger than her—maybe in her early twenties—was strapped naked to a table, her body shaking with sobs. Her wrists and ankles were bound, and her tear-streaked face was contorted with terror. Natalie's breath caught in her throat, and the sense of helplessness hit her like a wave.
Natalie gripped the bars of the cage, her own fear bubbling up, but she forced herself to push it down. I have to stay calm. I have to figure a way out of here—for both of us.
"Hey!" Natalie called out, her voice cracking slightly. "I'm going to get you out of here, okay? I'll get us both out."
The girl's sobs didn't quiet, but she looked at Natalie with wide, terrified eyes, her lip trembling. Natalie's heart broke at the sight of her, but before she could say anything else, a door creaked open on the far side of the room.
Natalie's blood ran cold as a figure stepped into view—a massive man, easily 6'5" with a muscular build that looked like he could crush someone with his bare hands. He wore a mask that obscured his face and a blood-splattered apron, clearly designed to protect him from the grisly work he was about to do.
The girl on the table screamed, thrashing against her restraints, her voice raw and desperate. "No, please! Let me go! Don't do this!"
Natalie's breath caught in her throat, her heart hammering in her chest. She rattled the bars of her cage, desperately trying to find a way out. "Hey! Let her go, you sick fuck!" she screamed, her voice filled with terror and rage.
But the man didn't even glance her way. He walked methodically over to a table lined with tools, and without a word, picked up a large butcher's knife. The young girl's screams grew louder, more frantic, and Natalie's own panic surged.
"Stop! Let her go! Let her go, damn it!" Natalie yelled, shaking the cage, but it was no use. She was trapped, powerless to help.
Tears filled Natalie's eyes as she watched in horror. The man moved with terrifying calmness, stepping up to the girl and raising the knife. He didn't speak, didn't react to her pleading cries. He simply began his gruesome work, hacking into the girl's limbs with a sickening, wet sound.
The girl's screams of agony pierced the air, and Natalie felt like her entire world was collapsing. She sobbed, rattling the cage with everything she had, but there was nothing she could do. Nothing but watch as the man butchered the girl in front of her, cutting her apart piece by piece until her screams finally stopped.
The room fell silent, save for the steady drip of blood pooling on the floor.
Natalie slumped back against the cold metal bars, tears streaming down her face. Her body trembled uncontrollably as she stared at the now lifeless body on the table, her mind racing with terror, anger, and helplessness.
I have to get out of here. I have to get out, or I'll be next.
But as the man turned his attention to her, sharpening his blade with deliberate care, Natalie's heart pounded with the terrifying realization that her time was running out.

dick's relationship with bruce + the titans too-long meta
there's been so many of these but i have many thoughts on this subject!!! dick's two biggest allegiances are to the batfa.m and to the titan.s and the two simply do not vibe (with pictures!).
for the most part, i feel like (at least in team settings) the titans are pretty vocal about not being batstans and bruce in kind has never put a 'proud parent of a teen titan' bumper sticker on the batmobile. like i feel like there's so many examples of:
and:
and:
i also think both sides thinks dick goes too easy on the other. that dick will always give batman the benefit of the doubt, and he will always answer a titans call. like the titans are constantly grilling dick about why he would listen to batman:
and batman thinks the titans focus too much on the power of friendship:
& i personally do think its a dash of 'what do you mean you're adults you were twelve yesterday'. like all the titans are the original sidekicks to most of the JL, and generally speaking the firsts of their mantle's so i do think there's a dash of parental caution at letting your newly adult kid do whatever they want with their friends. especially considering its not like theyre working at safety & gentle work emporium theyre all vigilantes/heroes and their missions are often life or death. they also are very excessive about each other and would absolutely kill or die for each other given very little prompting (ex: wally literally turned back time and revived dick grayson, thereby killing himself in this very issue). and the titans cannot go a single run without saying 'we didn't create a team... we created a family' and saying shit like:
when they are also (often) the JLs family. But especially in younger years, like the titans were dicks main reason for ever leaving gotham. and in early years robin, dick's sole focus was gotham, bruce and robin. & they worked so well together, dynamic duo who became such a cohesive unit and spent every waking moment together in some capacity (and often enjoyed that time very much)
but once the titans started to meet his duties split and like any teenage kid he found himself wanting to just hang out with his friends rather than his dad sometimes. and dick was so lonely in the early years and naturally sociable that finding other kids who could relate was so important to him. & i just think there's no doubt the titans were the rift that caused b&r to end. at the very least the timeline was sped up by the titans because dick was the youngest of the OG 5 and watched them all break off into their own adult selves and being the first active sidekick i think dick started thinking if they can be adults, can no longer be someone's #2... why can't i? and considering the titans were older than him, dick had several places to land or look for comfort or reassurance in his friends who seemed to have it together more than seventeen year old him. and bruce pushing him away (whole meta on that later) and dick seeing everyone else age out of their sidekick roles, led to stuff like:
and don't get me wrong, no matter the age, i think dick values very few other opinions than batman's. like titans (2016) broke apart because bruce was disappointed in dicks leadership and eventually convinced him wally & donna needed extra supervision (context: wallys heart problems & troia). also, dick rarely leaves things out of reports so im sure bruce saw that /technically speaking/ both dick (bruces son who he is not normal about) and wally died on this mission. but the titans didn't back down:
i also think the titans really respect dick's leadership, and they rarely (if ever) take well to anyone outside the titans shittalking dick grayson (sidenote -- specific titans can do it all they want because they have been a long time dg stan sufferer(TM) but outside of the team it rarely goes over well). but anyway, only dick could convince the titans to not fight this (much) and only bruce could convince dick:
so when dick stopped fighting it and agreed with the JL i feel like it was obvious bruce influenced that.
AND i think super important is that batman/most of the titans aren't super close so all they hear about each other is through dick. and dick can be emotionally intelligent, but he can also be unreasonably secretive. so every time bruce and dick fight or like, those big moments like dick's firing, or kicking dick out of the mansion after jason's death or like any of their big, shocking fights its like dick coming to the titans at his lowest. and because he places so much self worth on bruces opinion on him, i feel like that in turn might make the titans dick does run to in those moments (donna, roy, wally, etc.) resentful because he doesn't always go back into how or why they made up, when they always do.
but anyway all that to say this wouldn't be a problem if dick didn't love them both SO MUCH like:
and:
#LIKE the point of this is that dick loves bruce and loves the titan.s but he's always always letting someone down by doing both#dick says 'so the titan.s think---' and b rolls his eyes and dick says 'so bman thinks---' and the titan.s boo#dick: 🧍#also this narrative that the titan.s are scared of bruce is simply not true#i feel like theyve all individually told b to fuck off at least once a titan.s run#but on the same note i dont think bruce doesnt like the titan.s like he works with individuals from the team all the time#but as a group my interpretation is that he thinks the titan.s will always put each other/friendship above anything else#and even that can just be reckless and regardless of age i think b is very protective of his kids (his eldest included)#but anyways its funny how most of the ones that actually confront dick about it are kory roy and occasionally wally#dicks emotional support redheads show no mercy#anyway theres a lot more to the titan.s/bruce that just doesnt even include dick but alas i am a dg rper. likely place for dg content to be#* meta#* long post

How the Parks and Rec cast would react to what's happening in the Middle East:
Tom would come out in full support of Palestine after seeing Kid Cudi, Cardi B and Macklemore speak out in favor of a ceasefire, and want to throw a flashy fundraiser. We find out later that this all started because he wanted to impress a girl, but the more he learned about it and saw all the little brown kids suffering the more committed he became to the cause.
This would be a point of contention with Leslie who would try and shut down the fundraiser. When Tom asks why, she would say because the topic is too sensitive and she doesn't want to offend anyone, but in reality its because she supports Joe Biden who supports Israel, and doesn't want to admit he's wrong. This would create a lot of tension between Tom and Leslie, which would be the framework for the episode. Their arguing would escalate to the point where Leslie lets her true opinions come though accidentally, and say something like "Israel has a right to defend itself from terrorists," then not understand how it's racist.
Ron would ultimately want to stay out of it, citing that he doesn't get involved in foreign affairs, until Tom informs him that the US sends billions of US tax dollars to Israel a year so they can have free healthcare and education. Ron then immediately sides with Tom in supporting a ceasefire + becomes anti-Israel.
April trolls both sides for a while before ultimately ending up siding with Tom.
Donna is pro-Palestine, but stays out of the conflict between Tom and Leslie for as long as she can. Eventually while Tom and Leslie are arguing, Donna backs up Tom with a series of facts she pulled from a few Al Jazeera articles. She reveals that Joe is very passionate about the Palestinian cause because he's a teacher and doesn't like to see children suffering. This frustrates Leslie, and she storms out calling Donna a traitor.
Chris refuses to take sides, stating that it's not his place. Chris conveniently has to "run and errand" every time the topic comes up. Chris does reprimand both Tom and Leslie though when their arguing gets out of control and becomes a distraction. He will ultimately ban the conversation from happening in the office.
After Chris bans talk of Palestine in the office, Tom and Donna decide to orchestrate a protest outside city hall. They convince Ron to join, and he spends the whole time reminding everyone that he's only there because he wants Israel to return the billions of taxpayer to the American people, and doesn't care what happens to Gaza. At this protest they call out Leslie specifically for being a Zionist. Leslie and Chris confront them, and Donna reminds Chris that they're not breaking any rules and are only exercising their rights as American citizens. Leslie asks why April is there and she explains that she did like 3 minutes of googling and realized Tom was right. Andy admits he has no idea what's going on.
Leslie is horrified to see Ann Perkins siding with her "traitor" colleges, but Ann didn't realize they were protesting Leslie specifically, and is only there because April tricked her into coming. Ann doesn't know anything about what's happening in Gaza.
Throughout the entirety of the episode Ben is constantly trying to get Leslie to just hear Tom and Donna out, but she steamrolls over him the whole time, not actually listening and Ben gives up every time. After the protest Leslie is upset and feels like everyone is against her. Ben sits down and without saying anything hands her his phone where she sees Donna's reposts about the suffering children in Gaza. Ben then points out that Elizabeth Warren is calling for a ceasefire, which surprises Leslie and makes her reconsider. Ben asks her to consider that maybe Joe Biden is wrong and she should trust her friends who have been there for her, and look at how her actions have hurt them.
The episode ends with Leslie apologizing to her team for not listening and allows Tom to throw his fundraiser.
This whole time Andy thought they were talking about the Philippines.

To Those Fortunate Enough Chapter 28:
@burned-lariat
Sonny: Brando…" the man sighed, slowly opening his eyes. He blinked a few times, looking around the room as best he could before seeing his cousin seated to his right. Brando's smile was a mix of sadness and relief, his hands on his thighs, "What…happened?"
"I found you, Frank, and Michael all laying in the fire. You guys were shot: Michael in the stomach, Frank in the shoulder, and you in the leg."
Me:
Wallace really said fuck around and find out 😂
"Are you okay?"
"Yeah, I'm fine," Brando nodded slightly, "I mean, I was a little shaken up when I saw you three, and it was hard to breathe with all the smoke, but I'm fine."
"I hope that…Sasha and your mom know that too…""They do," the younger man chuckled, "Just got off the phone with them."
Me: My brasha heart 😭 I miss them🥺 fuck heather Webber fr fr!
Sonny: Unfortunately. Thanks to that rat bastard, my stock is gone, my son and I are hurt, my premier bodyguard is out of commission."
Wallace walking away from causing significant damage:
Deputy Mayor…" Dante sighed as Eileen Ashby walked his way, an officer by her side, "What brings you by?"
"I came by to see how our police force was doing. I understand you all have been going through some…changes."
"Yeah, we have. Are you behind it?"
"I may or may not have made some…decisions about the PCPD. I have it on good authority that some officers and detectives here aren’t doing the kind of work that’s expected of them. As such, we trimmed the fat and fired the underperformers.”
“And that included me?” Dante asked, “Who’s your ‘authority?’”
“Me.”
Me:
I'm so glad her bitch ass is dead in canon😌
It took everything in Dante not to react to Victor's smirk. The old man strolled into the main lobby, two of his own goons close behind, "Detective Falconeri, lovely to see you."
Me:
You convinced the deputy mayor to fire me?”
“Not just you. Plenty of employees here aren’t good at their job. I just opened the deputy mayor’s eyes to who those employees are.”
Me: I...he ain't wrong.🥴 Like Dante is legit the only who I would let keep his job though.
Okay but the way Victor is moving is really what should've happened in canon instead of that man just talking about uniting the family for 2 and half years.🙈
Victor to Dante: Wallace is a criminal and deserves to pay for his misdeeds. Don't tell me you're being selective about lawbreakers."
Me:
Like Victor really loves being ironic.
Michael: "I'd rather talk to my family: my mom, my sister, my girlfriend and our son. And even then, I have nothing to say to him."
Me: Damn well Krissy, Dante, Avery, and Donna said fuck you then 🖕🖕
Brando to Michael: "You hired a mob mole to take your father down and you think you don't owe him an apology for that?"
"Dex was not just a mole-"
Me: Wow Brando really doesn't understand that Dex is so much more to Michael 🌝
Sidenote: My Mex agenda is still going strong.😂
It’s not just about Nina!”
“That’s a lie! You two had no problems until Sonny cheated on your mom with her-”
“Enough, Brando! Enough! You want me to call Sonny and make up with him? Fine!” Michael shouted, hastily grabbing his cell phone and dialing Sonny’s number, “Hopefully this gets you off my back about it. If I pop a stitch because of this, it’s your fault.”
Me: Mans really ain't gonna admit that his feelings of hurt is because his parents aren't together anymore.🥴
Sonny really went off that man and basically said "You're a bitch who did a punk bitch thing so screw your half assed apology " and I cackled.😂

Mike pulled Dave aside while Rob and Brad took Chester to get something to eat. They all knew better than to let him have caffeinated coffee. If he did, he would be bouncing around the hospital. Anna stayed where she was. Dave kind of had a feeling about what he wanted to talk to him about. Why was he with Bria? He admitted had gone over with the intention of maybe hooking up with her. Did he love her? He was in love with her. It started when she was in Wales with them.
During the fight with Ian, he saw her in a new light. He developed a crush on her before the tour, but she was dating Joe. It was as if she showed him that she didn’t need protection because she could handle herself. At the same time, she showed him that she was also very human. If that made sense. Yes, it did. He cautioned him to be careful.
He advised him to talk to Joe before starting anything with her. It was going to hurt him because he was under the impression that she was not open to dating anyone. What did he say?
“He said that after their breakup, he got the idea that she had already moved on. That caused him to start starving himself. Once he realised he was wrong, he was too deep into his eating disorder. I convinced him that she wasn’t looking to have another boyfriend. That’s why you need to talk to him, especially since he’s in treatment. He’s in a safe environment if he relapses.”
He nodded. “I see what you’re saying. I didn’t think of that. Yeah, I’ll talk to him tomorrow after I talk to Brad about how he’s doing.”
When was Sheena and her mother coming home? He had to check to see what day it was. Wednesday. They were flying in Saturday evening. He sent a message to her mother letting her know that he was visiting a friend in the hospital. Mike told him to take it easy. He nodded again before asking if he wanted to put Rob in charge of Chester. No, he would keep an eye on him.
Michelle did not stay very long. She departed after an hour because she needed to return to work. She said her goodbyes to Mike as she was leaving. He was surprised she was already leaving, but he did not say it aloud. After getting up, he went inside to see her. Everyone else had gone to get some food. He would go when they returned because he wanted to be there in case anything happened. She had an oxygen mask covering her mouth and nose.
It made it easier for her to breathe while also reducing the strain on her heart. She could only communicate using hand gestures. He hugged her before asking how she was doing. She gave him a thumbs up. He laughed.
Good. He was delighted to hear that. Genetic heart problems. He remembered her mentioning that. However, he believed she was too young to have a heart condition.
He was wrong. That was okay. He was not a cardiovascular specialist. As he continued speaking with her, he could hear the machines monitoring her vitals, specifically her blood pressure and oxygen levels. When he heard the knock on the door, he excused himself. Rob was letting him know that they had returned from lunch. Brad was also back from his visit to Joe. He said thank you for informing him. Rob enquired about her well-being. He asked him to join him, so he followed him back into the room.
As he approached her, he could feel his anxiety rising. When he saw her, he wanted to leave the room right away. That was not something he could do. Instead, he made himself walk over to her. He gave her a hug before sitting down. Mike encouraged him to speak to her. He contemplated what he should say. Should he discuss his dog? That seemed appropriate. That was the first thing that came to mind for him.
Sheena and Goldie were playing tourist with Donna. He was wearing his vest, which meant it was time to go to work. His job was extremely important! Donna prepared food for him in her suitcase. He had a bowl of dry food for breakfast. It tasted similar to chicken. He spent the night on the floor beside Sheena's bed. That way, if she had a seizure during the night, he would be nearby. She remained seizure-free throughout the night. When she awoke, she was energised.
My name is Sheena Rose Madison. I have cerebral palsy without speech and epilepsy. I will not be able to respond to questions in an emergency. My service dog is named Goldie.
That was the laminated sign Angel created for her wheelchair. It contained all of her pertinent information. Just in case she had a seizure while out in public. Because she was nonverbal, she would be unable to communicate with paramedics. It included their parents' contact information, medications she was taking, and her birthday. Donna thought it was an excellent idea!
She secured the sign to the back of her wheelchair with zip ties. There! Sheena acknowledged her sister with a smile. So, what was her opinion? She thought it was a fantastic idea! Good. She was delighted to hear that! Donna noticed her happiness as she followed her around.
Because she spent so much time at home, it was wonderful for her to get out and explore the world. It was cold outside, so she was wearing a blanket over her legs and a sweatshirt. Massachusetts' weather differed from California's. They passed through leaves that had fallen to the ground below. They crunched beneath the wheels. She laughed because she enjoyed hearing the sound. Donna enquired as to the reason behind her laughter.
“Crunch. Crunch. Crunch.”
"Oh, you enjoy the crunch of the leaves.”
“Yes. It sounds funny."
She called her a "silly goose," just like Angel did. That made her laugh even more. Her family cherished hearing her laugh and seeing her smile. It meant she was happy. They often wondered what was going through her head. She lived in complete silence prior to receiving her device. They had to interpret her body language to determine what she was thinking or feeling. It sometimes frustrated her because she could not express what she wanted or needed. Her device helped her become more open.
She was finally able to communicate like everyone else! It followed her eye movements. She blinked when she came across the letter she wanted to use. Until she managed to form a sentence. She then navigated to the "send" button. The device then read the message aloud. It did take some getting used to. After a year of using it, she was able to type out what she wanted quickly.
They discovered that it was similar to the device used by Stephen Hawking. Their insurance covered the cost, making it significantly more affordable! They noticed how much happier she was after receiving it. She could communicate with them and was no longer isolated.
Kelly Clarkson, Bon Jovi, George, Brad, Paula Abdul, and Toby all expressed their thoughts and prayers for Bria. Toby had just seen her. She did not appear to be having any problems. He texted Henry and asked if there was anything he and his family could do to help. He requested thoughts and prayers. Of course. They would have to go through her medical bills once she was discharged.
Despite her career accomplishments, she was not wealthy. She had insurance coverage. He would have to assist her in determining how much it cost. It would become expensive for her, especially if her heart problems persisted. He considered the cost of ambulance service, medication, hospitalisation, doctor's appointments, and other expenses. One thing he disliked about America was the lack of universal health care. People went into debt or died as a result of inability to pay for healthcare.
He occasionally saw the same patients entering the emergency room. All he could do was treat them before sending them home. It did not appear fair to him. Unfortunately, he was not a politician but rather a doctor. Because it was a weekday, the waiting room was not particularly busy. This allowed him to spend more time talking with patients. One of them was a five-year-old boy who had stuck a toy up his nose.
He removed it with tweezers. The child began crying because he could finally breathe. He thoroughly cleaned the toy before returning it to him. The father expressed his gratitude. It was not a problem. He was delighted to help. The father enquired as to how he accomplished this so that they could replicate it at home. He explained that he used tweezers, but he also described other methods of extracting it. They could always return if it was something minor or if it became stuck.
Before leaving, he complimented the boy on his bravery. He gave him a high-five. They stood up and walked out to the front desk to pay for their stay. He looked at his wristwatch. The time was 1400. His stomach was letting him know that it was empty. He consulted with the nurses. They instructed him to go to lunch. He expressed gratitude and informed them that he had his pager.
I have not been able to pay her a visit yet. I will when I am finished with work. Will you be coming back? I am just wondering. Let me know. I will be here until 1830 hours. – Henry

When Mister Lux told her an expedition to the Library was being arranged, he asked her to prepare agreement contracts - for the crew, and for whoever they'll meet, ‘‘ just in case ’’ as he said. While working on the requested contracts, Irene, not wanting to disappoint mister Lux, also started working on what to say when presenting them, writing down her speech on her notebook to easily carry with her when she goes to stand in front of a mirror to practice.
And practice she did - many times ! During one of them, mister Lux entered her office while she was practicing, causing her to stumble on her tongue and stop talking to stare at him, wide eyed; This is also when he started helping her with it, making practicing easier since there was another person standing in front of her and not her own reflection. He, too, learned the speech together with her - silently mouthing words along while she talked, nodding ( both in confirmation and encouragement ); It made her a little more confident in herself, this - maybe, she thought, i'll be able to go through the whole speech without error.
How wrong she was ! When they met the Doctor and Donna in the Library, and mister Lux asked Irene for the contracts, that was when her confidence decided to falter. It didn't falter much when she presented the contracts to the rest of the crew, yet it decided to do so as soon as the Doctor and Donna turned towards her when she spoke to them while approaching, faltering further when they took the contracts - tearing them in two.
In the end, when she turned back to mister Lux's side, she was more disappointed in herself because she thought she let the crew down, him down. Was she not convincing enough ? Should she have practiced more ? There is a silver lining to this, though - she went through the whole speech, just as she and mister Lux practiced, despite her nervousness and without missing anything; Realizing this made her feel the tiniest little bit better.

dick HATES being out of the loop. and wally, ever expressive and ever emotional --- was very easy to read. his deadpan expression was meant to shame dick into realizing he can't play dumb, but the issue was dick wasn't PLAYING anything. in fact he was very much serious because his best friend in the whole wide world was mad at him and he was supposed to know why. the answer comes shortly, albeit doused in frustration. easier to spot, for sure but while he'd known gotham was never his friends FAVORITE place, he always figured he ultimately didn't mind it. at least, he always came when dick asked. it's only when his friend's pale features pooled crimson that they broke any real ice. but dick frowns at the admission --- wonders if he's made one of his favorite people feel unloved but then gets immediately overshadowed by the feeling of understanding. roy harper was a lot of things. A LOT. dick got the jealousy, sometimes. he wants to ask if something happened between the two of them, if there was some breaking point to cause all of this that dick had stepped into, but he can tell wally's working up to it. instead, dick waits patiently, watching the flicker of wally's gaze dance around their surroundings and him. no longer on the defensive and looking more to comfort, dick's fully turned towards wally with his hands crossed over bent knees. one foot is pressed beneath wally's own stretched legs, the other bent and folded beneath. he's watching wally as he finds the words he's searching for and dick's chest aches a bit with the clear admission of his perceived inadequacy. the way wally --- usually so bright and excitable, seemed intent on making himself smaller in his hurt. there's no refuting that. they all get some level of comparison to their mentors but something about the red hair had people confusing the two. and with a name like speedy, it was rarely the archer who got mistaken. roy was a spectacle in many ways, some parts of it even mirroring that of g.a. but there was no denying wherever roy harper went, he was bound to make an impression. it's the next part dick takes issue with. roy may get under his skin. may get him to places no one else on this earth has taken him emotionally --- their fights long, drawn out and complex, but roy harper made them BETTER. he pushed them, farther each time to become more than the mold of their mentors. to become themselves. with a bit of tasteful teasing here and there to really set a fire that burned down the forest. " kf, there wouldn't BE a team without you. " certainly wouldn't have lasted as long if someone wasn't there to pull them back together whenever they fell apart. hell, " i'm still trying to convince bruce the titans are a good idea, and it's been years. " batman was certainly not the flag-bearer of the teen titans and for as much as dick pushed against that, his duties were undoubtedly split sometimes. in fact, in the early years there was a real and constant fear that robin wouldn't be able to stay, and dick was still, to this day fighting that fight. donna and garth loved the team as much as he did and roy did too (even if he pretended he was too cool for it sometimes) but it was WALLY who held on tight enough for them to stick. wally who probably talked barry's ear off about the other sidekicks, wally who followed dick out when fights or missions went bad enough that the acrobat seriously considered the legitimacy of bruce's arguments. wally who reminded them they were more than the battles they fought. if wally was doubting his importance, dick had a LIFETIME of rebuttals for that. his hand lands on wally's forearm, squeezing softly and blue eyed gaze unwavering as he says " you're the one who keeps us together, man. we need you. " and maybe selfishly but most importantly, " I need you. " he can feel the heat rise on his own face at the honestly of his admission, but firm in the truth of his words. the impossibility of wally west. " you're one of a kind, wall. "
the reassurance only lasts so long, wally's tightly clenched jaw and stern features dimming in intensity only to shift into wry disbelief the second dick claims he hadn't looked at roy the way he had perceived ⸻ like the archer was some kind of glistening knight rescuing a damsel rather than a friend stepping in to help another. he draws up to his elbows to raise an eyebrow pointedly at dick, knowing he'd be stubborn but expecting a little more honesty from his part. it's then that he sees the genuine confusion drawing his brows, his mind working itself so hard around wally's perception that the taxing process reflected itself on his young face. it should feel good for him to have come upon a realization before dick grayson of all people, yet he only feels a faint relief that the magnitude of what his friend feels for the archer remains a blindspot the to the boy wonder himself.
‵ actually, i don't give a damn about spending more time in gotham than i need to. ʹ he shuts down not being invited as a gripe he held with straight-faced monotony that wavers as soon as the apology-slash-excuse moves onto his perceived lack of inclusion. this was much more tethered to the truth, and wally flushes from the neck up in embarrassment of how childish the real reason for his upset sounded when laced in the frank clarity of dick's voice. he breaks eyesight like a coward, sight trained on the empty plains they occupied and the sway of tall-grass caught amidst rustling winds. even nature seemed to mock him, seeing in the open field's undulation a reflection of dick and roy's carefree dance. wally frowns, closing his eyes to the realization he was being a big baby about all of this.
‵ bingo, rob. ʹ he somberly accepts, swallowing his pride. ‵ not the part where i feel unappreciated, 'cause it's always a fun and rewarding time when i get to rescue you instead of the other way around. ʹ a bright chortle rattles from his chest up to his shoulders, looking back at dick with fond eyes and his characteristic boyish, skewed smile. ‵ i'm - i guess i do feel left out ... but i can't say i'd feel this strongly about it if it was anyone other than roy harper that the press caught you with. ʹ sure, it would have bothered him regardless ⸻ the overflow of his burgeoning feelings for dick often transcended the limits of friendship in a way that terrified him and of which he was always, unfortunately, conscious about with every interaction, but such awakening he was much less prepared to face and willing to smother. just this once, okay? | bruce yamada x fem!reader
part 1 part 2 part 3
okay i made a playlist go like it! here's my spotify
a/n: for the sake of the story, everyone is the same age (16-17) and in junior year of high school, except gwen, who is a freshman. and the grabber doesn't exist because i said so.
when a crushing and helpless bruce yamada seeks aid from an unaware and breezy y/n, he suggests they fake date in order to make his crush jealous. what could go wrong? they were friendly, and y/n was beautiful. bruce’s plan is fool proof. at least that’s what he thinks.
italics = flashbacks

it had been two weeks since you and bruce went public with your "relationship". many jaws dropped when you and bruce walked into school holding hands.
"you're dating bruce yamada!?" donna exclaimed, slamming your locker closed. the impact made a loud noise, causing multiple people to look over.
"wow, good morning to you too!" you retorted sarcastically, earning an eye roll from donna.
"you're dating bruce yamada and you didn't tell me!?" she continued. "you're not supposed to keep secrets from me! we keep secrets from everyone else!"
"okay, okay!" you chuckled, leaning against the lockers. "it just slipped my mind, that's all." donna didn't look very convinced, but she shrugged.
"okay, so, tell me!" she giggled, linking her arm with yours. "what did he say? how did he ask you? i thought you two hadn't talked in two years!"
"we started talking again during the summer, and we were at the library, and he just... asked!" you replied. earlier, you and bruce talked about what you'd tell people if they asked so that there wouldn't be any miscommunications.
"wow!" donna feigned excitement. "that's— wow!"
"it's boring, i know, but i like him, y'know?" you and bruce spent the previous evening at the baseball field, laughing while practicing what to say to people who asked about the relationship.
"are you two gonna go to the carnival next saturday?" donna smirked, nudging your shoulder. "should be a pretty sweet date!"
"shut up, d, we have calculus." you tried to brush it off, but donna wouldn't let up.
the first day after going public, bruce sat next to you in physics— like he said he would. he gave you the classic bruce yamada grin and slid right next to you.
it was easier than you thought it would be to fake date bruce. after making the rules, you two seemed to get closer in a short amount of time. very short. two days, actually. you two didn't spend every single minute of every day together, obviously, but in the time that you did spend with one another, it was in the library, not studying, not doing homework, just.. hanging out.
mrs. schultz was growing agitated with how loud you two would talk and laugh in the small library, but she kept it a secret on account of "they're such a cute pair!" martin, her husband, was also growing agitated. not with you two in particular, but with how much mrs. schultz would talk about you two.
you were seated in the very corner of your physics class, bruce sitting next to you. he was telling you about how his little sister, amy, begged him to let her make little braids in his hair the night before.
"your hair isn't long enough to be braided, though!" you laughed. donna looked over her shoulder at the two of you, smirking slightly. since she was in the photography club, donna had to have her own camera. she very discreetly snapped a photo, chuckling to herself.
"yeah, i know that!" he smiled. "but she still begged for fifteen minutes!"
"okay, class, settle down," mr. hanson walked in, placing an enormous stack of papers on his small desk. "today, we're starting a new topic. we will be starting momentum and collision. please take notes on this, because you will have a test on it soon."
bruce looked over at you. "point for you, i guess." the day you two created the rules, he decided to make a point system. whenever you two had to study for something, you would get a point. whenever you missed one of his games or practices, he would get a point. so far you had three points and bruce had one.
"what? it's just momentum and collision, that's easy!" you whispered. "come on, you don't know if we'll have to study for it yet."
"oh, y/n, please!" he scoffed quietly. "it's a topic about physics! you know how bad i am at physics!"
"you are so dramatic, bruce."
"oh, am i?"
"you are—"
"mr. yamada, ms. l/n, is there something you two would like to share with the class?" mr. hanson glared at the two of you with an unamused expression on his young face.
"no, sir." you and bruce muttered, your faces a matching shade of bright red. the class snickered at this, and donna mouthed the words, "how adorable" to you.
"good, now let's get started."
the next day went by slowly. you were in your room, reading the silence of the lambs by thomas harris. the book creeped you out, but you just couldn't stop reading.
you were snapped out of your trance when wyatt came knocking on your door. "hey, there's some dude at the door looking for you."
"jeez, wyatt, that's super clarifying," you retorted sarcastically. "did you get a name, by any chance?"
"yeah, i think it was bryan." he looked beyond confused. "or maybe it was bruno? oh, oh, bryce! definitely bryce!"
"you mean bruce?"
"oh, yeah, that's the one!" wyatt grinned. "bruce is at the door, looking for you. he said you two are going to the carnival today?"
"crap, that's today," you frowned, putting your book away and pushing wyatt out of your doorway. "don't tell him i forgot or i'll put your diary entries into the paper and make billy deliver them."
"okay, okay! jeez, how did you even find out about my diary!?" wyatt grumbled.
"you're terrible at hiding things." you finalized, closing your door in his face.
you changed into a comfortable flannel, paired with your dark-wash mom jeans and your white converse. basic, but cute.
as you hurried downstairs, you heard giggling. more specifically, allie's giggling. it was rather surprising to see bruce bonding so well with allie, seeing as the eight year old wasn't too keen on interacting with people she didn't know.
"so you play baseball? like finney?" allie gasped. "can you teach me how?"
"well, i can try." bruce smiled, making allie blush. he saw you descending from the stairs and stood up. "hey, are you ready?"
"yeah, i'm ready," you chuckled, walking into the kitchen for a bottle of water. bruce trailed behind you, sending a small smile to allie. "you're making allie fall in love with you, y'know?"
"yeah, i have that charm." bruce laughed, staring at you a little too long.
your mom walked in unexpectedly, making bruce snap out of it. he shook his head, questioning himself. why couldn't he take his eyes off of you?
"hey!" your mom cheered. "who's this?"
"mom, hey," you groaned slightly. "this is— um, this is bruce. my, uh, my boyfriend."
your moms eyes widened. "boyfriend? wow! this is great news! bruce, hi, its nice to meet you!"
"oh, hi, mrs. l/n," he shook your moms hand politely, looking at you for some help. "its so wonderful to finally meet you!"
"and its so nice to meet you, bruce. i have heard nothing about you, actually." your mom wasn't trying to be rude, she just didn't really think before she spoke.
"oh, that's nice," bruce trailed off. wyatt and allie were silently laughing behind you three.
you took bruce's hand in yours and tried to drag him away from your mom. "c'mon, lets get going before she asks about your family."
"have fun, be back by ten!" your mom laughed.
"bye mrs. l/n! bye allie and wilbur!" bruce called.
"it's wyatt!"
"you called me bryce!"
"okay, we're leaving now, bye!" you yelled, dragging bruce out of the door.
you and bruce arrived at the carnival a little bit past six thirty. to say he was excited was an understatement. "okay so, amy asked me if i could get her some of that gross cotton candy stuff, but i think we can get that later! we could go on the bumper cars! or, we could go to the ring toss things! ooh, maybe we could get one of those giant teddy bears or something—"
"jeez, bruce, you're more excited than your girl is." one of his baseball friends, nolan, joked, making bruce turn beet red. "hey, man, i'm just teasing."
"yeah, whatever." bruce shrugged him off. "we'll see you all later. nolan don't be a dick to colin, okay?"
"no promises, bruce."
"do you wanna get food first?" you asked after all of his friends took off. you knew bruce didn't like doing things on an empty stomach.
"yeah, let's go!" he smiled, taking your hand in his.
bruce chose hotdogs, much to your dismay. you weren't too fond of them, but then again, it was a carnival. you couldn't go to a carnival and not eat gross food.
you two ate the hotdogs quietly— they were disgusting, but you tried to power through, for bruce. you grimaced as the foul taste reached your stomach. it appeared that bruce was tasting the same thing, because you two made eye contact and he looked like he was going to throw up.
"that's disgusting." bruce swallowed the last of his bite, then threw the hotdog away.
"those are horrible, bruce." you laughed, throwing the hotdog in the trash.
"yeah, we're never eating those again. ever." he groaned, beginning to walk away. he put his hands in the pockets of his black jacket. "so, where do we go first?"
"do you know if clara is here?" you asked him, making him squint his eyes a little. "clara reid?"
"oh, right, right!" he straightened a little. "i think nolan told me she'd be here with joan and eliza."
"okay, well then, let's go find something to do so clara can see us or something." bruce nodded and you two looked for the trio.
"look, there they are." he subtly pointed to where they were standing— near the ring toss stand. "let's go."
and so, you two went to the ring toss. the guy working it said it was easy, you just had to get a ring into the empty bottle in the very middle, and you could win the ginormous teddy bear.
bruce was determined to win it. "hey, check to see if they're looking." he whispered lightly.
you discreetly turned around, and did, indeed, see clara looking at the two of you. oddly enough, she didn't look jealous, or bothered, or annoyed. in fact, her expression was uninterested, almost like she didn't even care, like she didn't even mean to look at you two. but you didn't want to tell bruce that. he'd probably get bummed out. "uh, yeah, yeah, they're looking."
"that's good, right?" bruce chuckled, focusing on the bottle in the middle. he missed two of them, which really added to the suspense of whether or not he'd get the bear. finally, on the last ring, he drowned out everything else and put all of his attention on the bottle.
you held his hand, attempting to make him feel more confident in the last throw. bruce looked down at your now intertwined hands and smiled slightly. putting all of his attention on the bottle, he threw the ring.
the loud 'clink' made bruce ecstatic. he threw his arms around you happily and spun you around the air. "i did it!"
the guy, whose name was actually doug, rolled his eyes at this— probably because he had seen four other couples do the exact same thing. he handed the large teddy bear to bruce, saying, "here you go, thanks for playing, congrats." in a monotone voice. he really wanted to go home.
"here, hold todd." bruce said, handing you the teddy bear.
"todd?" you questioned, raising an eyebrow.
"yes, y/n/n, todd!" bruce explained. "we have shared custody of him now, keep up!"
"you're so weird, bruce." you chuckled. bruce smiled at you, slinging his arm around your shoulder.
"weird? im not weird, i'm— ooh!" he trailed off, looking at the spinning teacups ride in amazement. "can we go? please!"
"bruce, are you crazy?" you choked, slipping out from under his arm. "we'll throw up those nasty hotdogs you got us!"
"ugh, fine. you stay here with todd and watch as i have a great time." bruce taunted, placing his hands on your shoulders. "i'm gonna have a blast on these spinning teacups, and when i don't throw up, i'm laughing in your face."
"okay then..."
you watched as bruce picked the teacup closest to where you were standing and quickly claimed it. he gave you a thumbs up, a wide smile on his face. you felt another presence on your right, and turned your head to see clara standing next to you.
"hey, y/n!" she smiled sweetly. "i heard you're dating bruce! how's that going?"
"oh, hey clara. it's going good, i suppose." you responded kindly. you and clara weren't friends, barely even classmates, and there was no reason to be rude to her, so you kept your answers short.
"that's great!" she sang, her brown hair framing her face nicely. "y'know, people used to say i had a crush on him, but i never did. he's um, not really my type, y'know?"
your heart sank for bruce. clara had no interest in him. like none. zero. you couldn't be the one to tell him, though. his heart would be crushed.
"um, so, i just wanted to clear that up, just in case you thought i like him or something." clara said, placing her hand on your bicep for a moment, and then walking back to joan and eliza.
bruce got off the ride, walking up to you. "did you see that!? it was freaking amazing, and you missed out!"
you quickly plastered a smile on your face, not wanting bruce to think something was wrong. "i did, and i can tell you're dizzy. oh, you are so throwing up later."
"i am not going to throw up, i have a great digestive system." he defended, faltering after he realized what he just said. "ew, i didn't mean for that to sound so gross."
you laughed, taking his hand in yours. "i figured."
"ooh let's go to the bumper cars!" bruce urged, swinging your arms around. "and then we can go to the funhouse, or do you prefer haunted houses?"
"i definitely prefer haunted houses, but let's go!" you grinned.
you and bruce rode every ride twice, the second time being better than the first. you had to admit, fake-dating bruce yamada was not as bad as you thought it would be. it was almost.. fun?
it was about nine-thirty, and bruce's friends approached the two of you as you got off of the small roller coaster seats.
"hey, have you two gone on the ferris wheel yet?" nolan asked, holding a large red slushie.
"uh, no we haven't actually." bruce answered, looking at you from the corner of his eye.
"oh, you two should totally go on it! the guy stops it right when it's at the very top and you can see the whole town from there! man, bruce, the view is incredible!" lucas— another one of his friends— rambled.
"alright then, let's go!" bruce beamed, leading you to the ferris wheel. you two were standing in line talking when bruce realized that lucas and his girlfriend violet were right behind you two.
"lucas, hey, i didn't realize you were behind us, man." bruce said, causing you to turn around and look at them. "hey, you two wanna share a compartment with us? they're pretty big and it's just us, so.."
"yeah, sure! sounds good to me!" lucas chimed, his green eyes brightening. violet nodded, smiling at the you and bruce.
lucas was right— the view was incredible. you could see your house, the porch light still on, indicating that your mother was waiting for you to arrive. bruce pointed out where his house was, where the baseball field was, and even where favorite diners were.
your hands were still intertwined, not that either of you noticed. bruce had a weird feeling in his stomach, but it wasn't nausea like you thought it would be. he had felt this before, when he realized he liked clara. but he didn't like you, not like that, did he?
you were still admiring the view when you felt bruce place a small kiss on the side of your head. when you looked at him with a confused expression, he cocked his head to the side, signaling that lucas was watching the two of you intently. you nodded in understanding, placing a quick kiss on his cheek.
once the ride was over, you two said goodbye to lucas and violet, but not before lucas pulled bruce aside.
"dude, you're totally in love!" he said. "your face said it all i mean the way you looked at her all in love and shit! jeez, man, anyone would forget that you had a thing for clara reid if they saw how you look at y/n l/n!"
bruce shook his head. "shut up, man, you look at violet like she's the only girl ever."
"because she is! to me, at least." lucas defended. "anyways, i gotta get going, vi has a curfew, and i cannot risk getting on her dad's bad side! oh, and buy y/n a slushie, jesus. see ya, man."
bruce walked back over to where you were waiting patiently. "come on, let's get slushies."
"you are so gonna be sick tomorrow morning. just you wait, bruce. you'll see that im right." you mocked, your hand finding his again.
"yeah, yeah." he dismissed, smiling at you.
bruce walked you home, making sure to say goodnight to your mom and allie— who probably only stayed awake to see bruce again. "you can have todd tonight. we'll have to come up with a schedule for him."
"hmm, i take this week, you take next week?" you offered.
"and then we just keep doing that?"
"sounds like a plan."
"okay, then! goodnight, y/n/n." he gave you a hug, the scent of your perfume was almost intoxicating him. you gave him one last kiss on the cheek and stepped back inside.
that night, bruce couldn't sleep. was lucas right? did he really like you? he didn't even care that amy was whining about him forgetting her cotton candy, all he could think about was you. he laid awake, thinking about you and your perfect smile, your perfect eyes. he knew this feeling.
crap. oh, crap.
bruce yamada was slowly falling for you.
