I keep thinking of a story where Wei Wuxian wakes up and he’s living his perfect life. He’s living at Lotus Pier with Lan Wanji and he meets up with Jiang Cheng and Jiang Yanli for breakfast. He’s told that Jiang Fengmian is busy right now but they’ll see him later. He’s so happy, the juniors are having fun on the pier together, he sees the Wen siblings hanging out together, and just everyone he cares about is safe and happy. Slowly though he starts to notice inconsistency’s, no one has mentioned Madame Yu at all and Jin Ling is dressed in purple living at Lotus Pier with no thought of Jin Zixuan. He then starts to realize that everyone’s ages don’t match up, JL and LWJ are the age they are now but JYL and JC look like they did during the time of Cloud Recesses schooling. This makes him realize he’s in his original body and it slowly dawns on him that this is wrong. He starts to run around trying to figure out what’s going on. Turns out he’s been caught in the grasp of a spiritual plant called Black Mercy that traps victims in their ideal life. Eventually he breaks out with LWJ and the juniors managing to help. He tries to pretend like he’s fine but he’s honestly really shook up. This is all based around a Justice League Unlimited episode For The Man Who Has Everything. I just think Wei Wuxian deserves to be mentally tortured more.
HEY ANON WHERE DO I SIGN UP FOR UPDATES TO THIS. I NEED IT.

Man I got lucky this month, I got to read a bunch of excellent books, including some really neat queer novels. Nothing like a break to really get to kick back and enjoy reading for the sheer pleasure of reading rather than a desperate escape
Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation manhua v1
Unsurprising to absolutely anyone who’s been reading these, I picked up the first book of the manhua adaptation of Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation. It covers the first part of the first book, which basically amounts of Wei Wuxian’s revival and his flight from Mo Manor to the mountain and the Night Hunt. Besides for WWX, we get to meet Lan Wanji, the juniors, and Jiang Cheng, all of which have great designs. Like the rest of this series, it was a pleasure to read, the adaptation was done really well, and I’m excited for the next volume.
The Ice Monster
This book was very… meh. I was pretty disappointed, because I’ve really enjoyed the other two books I’ve read by David Walliams so far, and this was probably the one I was most excited about, but it was… incredibly middling compared to the others.
The Ice Monster is about a Victorian orphan, Elsie, who escapes from the brutal orphanage she had been raised in and was making her way on the streets. During this time, a great mammoth that had been found in the Arctic was being transported to the museum for display. Elsie feels a kinship for this “monster” and begins a series of events that lead to it being freed from the ice and set loose in London.
There were good moments in this book and I’m sure a kid would enjoy it, but ultimately it felt like way too many fart jokes and not enough substance compared to Walliams’ other books.
I Think Our Son Is Gay v2
A very sweet manga series I’ve been reading from the library. It follows the POV of a mother who suspects that her son is gay but who isn’t quite ready to come out yet. It’s a nice balance of humour — the art is cute and the characters have fun reactions to various silly things that happen in their lives — and love while still asking what it must be like to be gay in a homophobic society. A good read.
Legends & Lattes
SUCH a fun novel, it was exactly what I needed this month.
The story is about an orc mercenary called Viv who, after 20 years of fighting and killing, has had enough and is ready to settle down. Using the mysterious reward from her last adventure, Viv leaves her old company to find what she hopes will be the perfect city to open a coffee shop. Which is a daunting task in a part of the world that has never ever heard of coffee before and is suitably leery of this “bean water”.
If you want an action-packed, edge of your seat adventure book… don’t read this. This is the epitome of “cosy” fiction — its tag line is “high fantasy and low stakes”. If you want a dnd coffee au in novel form that’s about friendship and food… then this is THE perfect novel. It made me feel so warm and happy (and hungry).
Lucky Luke: The Oklahoma Land Rush // The Man Who Shot Lucky Luke
Lucky Luke is a BD series I’ve heard a lot about, and after seeing a couple episodes of it on Prime I decided I needed to actually pick up a volume or two. I’m delighted I did and I think I’ll need to read more now!
The general premise is that of a western. The titular character, Lucky Luke, is a clever and nearly unflappable gun-slinger who can “shoot faster than his shadow”. Luke gets into a range of silly, comedic Wild West adventures and inevitably comes out on top for the sake of justice. Naturally, the genre being what it is, the whole First Nations thing is… rough, but the books were enjoyable if you can look past that.
The first book I read was The Oklahoma Land Rush which is fairly indicative of the series I believe and is about Luke being hired to help police the desperate rush of settlers to claim land in Oklahoma. The second was The Man Who Shot Lucky Luke which was written by Matthieu Bonhomme instead of Morris and is a slightly grittier, more serious take on Luke. I enjoyed this one just as much — it still managed to be funny, but the stakes felt much higher. And the art was just stunning.
The Night Gardener
A fun, creepy middle grade horror. A story about two young Irish immigrants trying their best to survive in the absence of their parents. In a last desperate attempt to get work they find themselves way out at a desolate, crumbling English manor that has been almost completely consumed by a strange tree. The family there is as desolate and strange as the grounds, pale and sickly and carrying a mysterious secret. The siblings realise just how strange and dangerous this estate might be as they’re drawn deeper into the secrets and begin to suspect that there’s something else living and working on the grounds…
I really like Jonathan Auxier's writing and I’ve been meaning to try this novel for years. I was glad to have finally done it.
Doctor Who: The Runaway Tardis
Just a cute little picture book. Pop Classics does some fun work and the art style really worked for Doctor Who. It’s about a little girl who has moved and is struggling with needing to make whole new friends in a place she doesn’t know. The themes of loneliness and goodbyes and needing to move on and make new friends was actually perfect to pair with Doctor Who; despite being quite simple and silly looking, it actually made me feel things for both the Doctor and the little girl.
Sandman v1/2
Everyone has been so hyped about The Sandman! I’ve been wanting to get in on it but I’m not very good at sitting down and watching shows so I thought I might try the original comics. Honestly I should have known better. I don’t really like this harsh style of American comics and if we’re being totally honest I don’t generally like Gaiman’s longer prose. This, unsurprisingly, combined two things I don’t like and ended up with a comic I didn’t like. Things only went down hill when fucking Batman appeared. It didn’t even really feel like it had the humour I would at least expect from Gaiman besides for a few brief glimmers. I appreciate that other people really like this series but oof. Not for me.
The Secret Garden
I love The Secret Garden, it’s one of those comfort books that I need to reread every few years. I was listening to it as an audiobook this time and it was so lovely to see the first signs of spring appearing while listening to this story. If you want something feel good I highly recommend starting it because we are in the season for it.
If you’ve never read The Secret Garden, the premise is of a young, spoiled, but horrifically neglected child who was raised in British-occupied India. She is a bad-tempered, sour, and demanding child known to others as “Mistress Mary quite contrary”. When her parents die of a cholera outbreak she is sent back to England to live at her uncle’s manor on the Yorkshire moors. This relative is also distant and bitter, apparently hunchbacked and widowed. Once more alone, Mary is suddenly expected to do things for herself and isn’t given her every demand — instead she begins to befriend the cheerful, plain-spoken maid and starts spending time outside, exploring and playing for what feels like the first time in her life…
Wallace & Gromit: Crackers in Space
I stumbled across this as an audiobook. After the fact I realised it’s also a comic. Oddly enough, the comic seemed profoundly bad — I’ve never really liked any of the Wallace and Gromit comics — but the audiobook version was a delight. It has the actual voice actor for Wallace, so it sounded completely like I had just put an episode on in the background that I had never watched before. They were also very clever about giving Gromit a “voice” despite him being a non-verbal character! It was actually a lot of fun!
Wallace decides to attempt making his own cheese out in the garden shed… only things go badly, as they’re wont to. Instead of making a lovely cheese, the whole thing ends up getting launched into the atmosphere because of a helium mishap… which might not be so bad if the zero gravity wasn’t making the Home Brew Cheese Kit kick into overdrive. They’re going to have to figure out how to deal with the massive, mutated cheese comet that’s now threatening all of West Wallaby Street.
Wave Me Goodbye
An absolutely charming book, I didn’t want to put it down. This book takes place at the beginning of the Second World War, when children were being evacuated from London (which was at risk of bombing) and being sent out to live with volunteers in the country. Shirley is one of the children being sent out, but right from the beginning she finds herself struggling with feeling like the odd one out. She doesn’t feel like she fits in with her rough-and-tumble classmates, and when she does make a new friend on the train it’s clear that she doesn’t properly fit in with the posh covenant girls either. Things only get worse when she is one of the only children not picked to go with a family, and suddenly she and two other unwanted boys find themselves foisted on the unwilling inhabitants of the Red House. But in wartime, one has to make due, so she, Kevin, and Archie begin to explore this strange, half-empty house and get used to a very different way of life way out in the country.
Shirley is a huge reader in the book, and it actually made me pause reading to go and read some of the books she references! It was a lot of fun! Some of the books I read last month that Shirley reads are Ballet Shoes and The Squirrel, The Hare, and the Little Grey Rabbit. It’s also what made me decide to reread The Secret Garden, since they feel like similar genres.
When the Angels Left the Old Country
I read some great books this month and it would be hard to say for certain which was my favourite since they were in quite different genres, but this would be a strong contender. Holy shit was it good. The tl;dr is that it’s a bit like a Jewish Good Omens but also nothing like that at all.
The Angel (as angels don’t have permanent names, but rather names that describe what they are currently doing) and the demon Little Ash have been study partners for centuries, happily existing in their little Shtetl without feeling much need to change things. But things are changing and with the press of poverty and rise of violent anti-Semitic feelings many residents of the Shtetl are now leaving for America in the search of work and safety. Little Ash is determined that they should join these immigrants, and when a member of their Shtetl goes missing on her own voyage it seems inevitable that they go and track her down to ensure she is safe and well.
At its heart this is an immigrant story about people and prejudice and love, and it’s really written beautifully, the way you see all the hardship that goes into such a voyage even for supernatural beings.

And then there are the runner ups! Which while they weren't able to come up to the top. Certainly deserve mention!
A Game for the Fool by LadyCroft_Undead19
-How do you want to be remembered? Obviously one will always want to be remembered as a good person, someone great whose virtues outweigh the flaws, of course they'd want to be remembered as someone who did something in life, who accomplished something with the time they were given, someone others could be proud of, or remember fondly of, years down the road. Everyone always wants to be remembered when they were at their best and not at their lowest.
I like to believe I was a good person, funny and smart and kind, someone who proved to be a good role model for future generations. I died content. I wonder why, then, did I find myself in such a peculiar situation?
"Quest: Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation" "Will you accept this Quest?" [YES] [NO]

AKA Nie Huaisang plans to fix everything. Oops.
like speaking to my heart by SnowshadowAO3
-Wei Wuxian is staring up at the sky, thinking idly about the taste of Emperor’s Smile on his tongue, when Suibian jumps full force onto his stomach and cries, “A-Xian, don’t be mad!” The sheer force of her pounce knocks the breath out of him. The resulting pause is just long enough for Jiang Cheng, who up to this point has been laying rather peacefully next to him, to shoot up and demand, “Oh great, what did you do now?” To be fair, the question isn’t exactly unwarranted. Suibian looks an absolute mess: twigs stuck in her fur, dirt smeared across the white fluff of her underbelly. She’s panting up a storm, little heh heh heh gasps that haven’t edged into her normal high-pitched laughter. When her ears press back against her head, she could almost pass for pitiful. “Bichen hates me.” Wei Wuxian’s first thought is Why would Lan Zhan’s daemon hate you?, but it’s followed quickly by remembering exactly where he is, how little trouble he’s caused today, and the fact that he hasn’t seen Suibian for a few minutes. A grin spreads across his face.
(Or: The most important name a cultivator will ever pick isn’t for their sword. It’s for their daemon.)
The Same Moon Rises series by sami
-Wei Wuxian starts again from the beginning.
Twelve Moons and a Fortnight series by stiltonbasket
-Or, the one where Wei Wuxian spends the year before his wedding as Yunmeng Jiang's acting sect leader, while Jiang Cheng helps Jin Ling claim his rightful place in Lanling, and the cultivation world's greatest love story finds its happy ending with the help of three juniors, a teenage romance, and one very involved (and exasperated) younger brother.
pride is not the word I'm looking for by Tossawary
-Shang Qinghua goes to take a self-indulgent peek at his baby protagonist son and gets a kick to the shrivelled heart for his troubles. He gave up on changing the story years ago! Yet he finds himself helping his protagonist son's adoptive mother anyway. Just this one change won't matter too much, right?
One little change leads to more. Shang Qinghua never meant to care, but he becomes invested in making sure that his new family survives the looming plot. With the changes to the world cascading around him, with his position as a traitor pulling him between his sect and a certain ice demon, and with the protagonist growing up so quickly, how is one displaced author meant to ensure that everything turns out all right?
A Well Wherein Serpents Are Coiled by Nighthaunting
-I am poison / And you will drink me / And you should be so lucky
Shang Qinghua transmigrates into his own terrible novel as a baby. The fact that this seems to be a world based on his first draft, where things actually happened and the plot did matter, is less than comforting. Having a second chance is nice, but ending up as cannon fodder and dying offscreen are the last things he wants to do. The only way to avoid his 'canonical' fate is to do as the System demands and try to fix his mistakes from within the world he created.
Somehow this ends up with a bright-eyed and bushy-tailed Luo Binghe as an An Ding Peak disciple, because writing about a kid being miserable and seeing a kid being miserable are apparently two entirely different skillsets.

Xie Lian hadn't anticipated the heavens-upending events that followed the drought either, but sometimes these things just happen.
OR: Xie Lian and Hua Cheng save their country and save the world.
The Trifecta of MXTX fanfics
The Chinese writer Mo Xian Tong Xiu has written three novels, which have become very popular over the years. As an avid reader of fanfiction and a fan of her works for several years, here are my top recommendations for MXTX fanfic readers.
Mo Dao Zu Shi (The Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation):

-After barely surviving the assassination attempt at QiongQi Path, Wei WuXian and the Wen Sect remnants are left to figure out how to protect themselves and their new lives. Meanwhile, the Jiang siblings and an unharmed Jin ZiXuan try to figure out who's bright idea was that stupid ambush. In Gusu, Lan Wangji panics at the idea of Wei WuXian's near death and tries to figure out whether to insist to stay by the Yiling Patriarch's side or hang back in the Cloud Recesses.
And Wei WuXian struggles with the idea of whether becoming a teacher, teaching demonic cultivation and setting up his own sect might not be a bad idea after all...

-Xie Lian found something in himself that he thought was gone—worn away with every mistake he had made. Faith. His arms opened, and the child was hesitant—but eventually, he fell into them, his body trembling with silent sobs.
"I remember you," he whispered again, voice breaking as Hong-er clung to him.

wei wuxian and his juniors (kids) ♡
Imagine the juniors doing something wrong, or breaking the rules and their knee jerk reaction is to immediately huddle behind wei wuxian. and the poor yiling louzo just sighs fondly before asking them what's wrong and he won't defend them this time (he does end up doing it again because he loves all of them alot)
wei wuxian taking the juniors for dinner after they complete a night hunting, it's their ritual to always eat together. sometimes some of them would go too far and get drunk, and wwx had to take the responsibility to send them back home safe. and if sometimes he says he's busy to eat out right now, they would look like a bunch of kicked puppies and wwx would immediately promise to take them out for lunch tomorrow.
the juniors just looking at wwx with excited puppy eyes because he's just so cool and he's a reliable adult who doesn't push the standard norms on them and let them run wild, find their own way, but also scolds them and helps them out.
wwx unknowingly taking the role of a parent figure for the juniors and it makes him happy, and he tries to be a good role model for them. and the juniors jumping quickly to defend him whenever someone comments something bad about him.
he's also the only senior they can freely joke around with. wwx teases them, they can make fun of him back without the fear of getting punished. even though wanji is also a good senior doesn't mean they have the liberty to be that outspoken around him. but they make joke around and be their chaotic self around wwx, knowing he'll probably join in as well. it's freshing to have someone to establish that sort of relationship with in the strict cultivation world.
(also lan zhan's fond smile watching the juniors always tail behind wwx like excited ducklings behind their mother.)

Okay, but where do wangxian find all these babies?
Let it be stated for the record that Lan Qiren never wanted kids of his own, especially since he had to raise his nephews. Of course, now they're grown up he's quite happy to collect more nephews and nieces. Or great-nephews and great-nieces. He kinda wishes Lan Wanji would adopt more, but doesn't want to say it.
And then the disaster couple go off on one of their mini honeymoons and return with a baby. A baby that Wei Wuxian insists he gave birth to. I mean someone should probably question where they found the little one but they are just so cute! This ends up becoming something of a habit - they end up with a new kid after every mini-moon, and Wei Wuxian makes lots of inappropriate jokes about honeymoon babies.
You know who else is delighted at this development? Wen Ning! Because he is hug-shaped and deserves all the hugs and the kids brigade is determined to hug him at every chance they get. He can be frequently found on the bunny field, sitting in the grass, making flower crowns with all the kids.
Imagine Jiang Cheng's shock when he comes to Cloud Recesses for whatever and comes across Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji with like five kids under the age of ten hanging off of them? He's suddenly realising he's an uncle several times over and Wei Wuxian didn't tell him. His horrible HORRIBLE brother starts up the pregnancy jokes again.
The horror! Also both him and Jin Ling start borrowing whichever of the kids are going through the terrible twos for when particularly annoying people come for meetings. They keep a score sheet on who's gotten the best reactions out of Sect Leader Yao. So far it's the little girl who very loudly asked her uncle when the annoying man was going to stop talking. In the middle of a discussion conference.
She is nearly overtaken next year when one of the boys marches up to "the annoying man" and asks why he has a caterpillar under his nose. Sect Leader Yao demands to know why these tiny Lan disciples aren't better behaved, and Lan Qiren very coolly replies that curiosity in children is to be encouraged.
Nie Huaissang is dieing in the background. If Lan Wangji ever wants to stop being Chief Cultivator, then he needs to stop making the discussion conferences so entertaining.
And then a clear winner is decided when the newest addition to the wangxian family points at Sect Leaders Yao and Ouyang and eagerly asks if they're just like her two dads.
Nie Huaissang, patting her head: "No, sweetie, your dads are much prettier."
Nie Huaissanf is seriously considering adoption himself if this is the sort of thing the kids might get up to. Then the littlest baby decides that Nie Huaissang's fan is like daddy's flute and therefore a chew toy. He isn't quite sure how to be annoyed at such a small child, but he's quite okay with smacking said child's dad when he starts laughing.
Wei Wuxian threatens to withhold parenting tips in retaliation. Jiang Cheng then tells Wei Wuxian he's an absolute moron because can you imagine the utter chaos Nie Huaissang could unleash when left to raise a bunch of impressionable children without supervision. Cue Jiang Cheng trying to give Nie Huaissang parenting tips and Nie Huaissang trying not to laugh.
The Juniors watch all this and wonder they are as well-adjusted as they are.

Hey there, I love your writings very much! Can I ask for something about WWX's darling who has a very loving mother-child relationship with Sizhui?
OFCKDGJNDFGF FIRST WEI WUXIAN POST FIRST WEI WUXIAN POST
Of course there are different timelines, one where he is known as Yuan and is like 4 or when he is Sizhui and is a cultivator. Either or, when I started to see Sizhui I lowkey joked that it was Yuan and when it turned out to be him I was like bruh. ANYWAYS, it was such a sweet moment especially when they played for a little bit before Wen Ning and Sizhui departed together I was sobbing bro.
When he was Yuan, I see WWX’s darling being so sweet to him. If they are part of the Wen clan that sought refuge with him or another cultivator that took his side it doesn’t matter. What matters now is that he is just swooning over you spoon-feeding Yuan. Sure, he can feed himself but you’re gladly doing it for him. Playing around and picking him up and brushing off the dirt. Holding his hand in public or when WWX and you go into town for necessities and you guys both hold his hand and kinda swing him across (PLS THIS IS SO SOFT). When WWX scolds him a little and he comes running to you, you’d spoil him and tell him that WWX is at fault while he is standing there offended. Reading him books and playing around with him. Buying him small toys to get him happy and entertained.
When he is a cultivator, depending on the route we want to go. You were captured, punished, revived, etc. He would look up to you a lot, you’re just so kind and caring that he can’t help but be reminded of a certain someone who took care of him in childhood. Smiling softly at him when he tries to correct a mistake or assisting others. Spoiling him he most among the other juniors, guiding them in their path to becoming cultivators and clan leaders. Treating them out to eat but also not being afraid to scold them for acting so reckless and not thinking before storming into danger. WWX would only smile, you certainly haven’t changed and he knows that if he ever wanted another child you’d be a great partner along with Lan Wanji because I’ve decided to kinda make this a poly relationship because I didn’t want to break wangxian :(. You’d be a blend of them both, one who can act like a doting parent or act like an immature child. It’s cute really.

Come Home With Me Ch. 1
“Come home with me,” Jiang Cheng blurts out, staring at Wei Wuxian--it has to be, there’s no other person it could be, Jiang Cheng has trained demonic cultivators ever since his brother’s death and-- “Please.”
He hates how stupidly young he sounds. How ridiculously small and childish.
How vulnerable.
He’s supposed to be clan leader. He’s supposed to--
“I’m not Wei Wuxian! Besides, they say that you killed all the demonic cultivators,” Wei Wuxian says, pretending, pretending, like Jiang Cheng could do that to his legacy, like Jiang Cheng was ever righteous.
Like Jiang Cheng doesn’t still have nightmares about the war.
“He didn’t,” A-yue steps forward and a bit of dark energy curls around her fingers, a gamble.
Jiang Cheng glares at her. The juniors of the other sects are right there and he told her to stop that now that she was part of Yunmeng.
But it pays off. Miracle of miracles, it pays off and for the first time in his life, something goes right because it’s his brother, his big brother, who says, softly, “A-Cheng?”
And Jiang Cheng’s throat is clogged and he can hardly breathe and he says, “Come home. We can protect you.”
I can protect you, now.
Lan Wangji watches, watches, watches, and all Jiang Cheng can think about is that night in the forest, Jiang Cheng standing in front of a demonic cultivator with his sword raised and Lan Wanji saying you do not want to kill Wei Ying’s legacy.
Thinks of his sword going, falling, down, as his voice cracks and he says, come with more or I’ll kill you on the spot because he saw Wei Wuxian fall and he won’t let that happen again.
(His brother massacred three thousand.)
(Jiang Cheng knows--and it hurts, he feels the guilt rising up in his throat with the knowledge--he would have stood by his brother’s side if he’d only asked.)
(Wei Wuxian was always too kind to ask. Too scared. Too uncertain of his own place, and Jiang Cheng was too busy doubting his own to see it.)
“Go,” Lan Wangji says, and of fucking course that’s what makes his brother step forward and take his hand, hesitantly, like Jiang Cheng’s made of glass.
Maybe he is.
“You’re back,” Jiang Cheng says.
“I’m sorry,” his stupid idiot brother says.
Jiang Cheng doesn’t know if he’ll break down, later. He wants to, so badly, but how can he? He’s clan leader. His sister’s not around to pick up the pieces. And he doesn’t know his brother as well as he should.
His older brother who’s technically over a decade younger than him, now.
“You were always such an idiot,” Jiang Cheng marvels, “Stop apologizing.”
Lan Wanji starts guiding the junior disciples away.
Wei Wuxian squeezes Jiang Cheng’s hand, a bit more certain, and says, “My golden core is weak.”
“You’re so stupid,” Jiang Cheng says, “My golden core is strong.”
Wei Wuxian has the audacity to look surprised. The audacity-- “Oh,” he says, “I didn’t think--”
“That I’d ever try to open your sealed sword?”
Sheepish laughter.
Idiot. His brother’s such an idiot.
(His brother is here, alive, breathing.)

Our Underrated Sweetheart Lan Sizhui~(a dumb overview by an idiot)
Lan Sizhui (formerly known as Wen Yuan) is one of the most beautiful characters in mdzs!! He was raised under the Qishan Wen sect by Granny Wen ,who unfortunately meets her end along with the rest of the Wen sect during the First Seige of the Burial Grounds, after the death of his parents then being forced to work as slaves for the Lanling Jin Sect along with the other remaining members of the (now extinct) sect. Wei Wuxian saves the survivors from the harsh conditions and ill treatment (while trying to find Wen Ning) taking A-Yuan under his wing when protecting the Wen sect at the Burial Grounds. Wen Yuan grew attached to Wei Wuxian seeing him as both an older brother and a father figure.
Wen Yuan later meets Lan WanJi (dad number 2) at Yiling and we see how A-Yuan cries seeing someone as cold and indifferent as him...((perhaps its because he had been looking for/ without Wei Wuxian for a long time)) the fact he got upset shows how he maybe wasn't scared of Lan WanJi’s expression but rather felt that pain and sadness that Lan WanJi was showing and A-Yuan was actually trying to comfort him... He makes my heart break because he is just so gentle....
Wei Wuxian did his best to raise him well, however without money he was unable to buy any toys for him to play with. Where as when Lan WanJi arrives he is given the toys he wants and is able to play as much as he likes, for a child with a past as dark as A-Yuan’s having just a simple toy must have been so euphoric. Lan WanJi always being the light in the Burial Ground world A-Yuan was living, not just with toys but he was adopted by the heart broken and bleeding Lan Wanji when he discovered our baby Wen Yuan hiding in a tree stump with a fever that causes him to ,regretfully, lose most memories he had of Wei Wuxian. However with his love and compassion for every soul means that he gets close to Wei Wuxian even in the body Mo XuanYu and upon finding out that Wei Wuxian is Wei Wuxian with the help of Wen Ning he remembers his past with fondness rather than pain, which was the main worry Lan WanJi had for Lan Sizhui growing up. Also he remembers it without a heavy heart because of how Wei Wuxian always tried his hardest to make the situation happy and comfortable for A-Yuan despite being in worst kind of situation and mental state... Meaning that the majority of past memories he has aren’t dark or full of sorrow, but full of love and compassion that he learned through both Wei Wuxian and Lan WanJi, despite their violently different styles of parenting...In his life as Lan Sizhui he is a well respected disciple and works hard to ensure that nobody is mistreated or disrespected unfairly, disciplining himself and his fellow juniors (usually Lan Jingyi) with their best interests at heart.
Overall Lan Sizhui (Wen Yuan) is the most endearing angel with an abundance of love in his heart for his fellow juniors and especially his two dads :’)

Kinktober, day 6
Fandom: Mo Dao Zu Shi (the Grandmaster of demoniac cultivation)
(I have deleted some fic from my calendar: Charles x reader (Sleepy sex), Asmodeus x reader (body swap) and the juniors threesome. Sorry, but I'm really busy and I can't write what I want)
Jin Zixuan x Jiang Yanli: Lactation kink
Dear Shijie,
Do you remember many years ago when I went back to Lotus Pear after the fight with the pea- I mean, with Jin Zixuan? Back then I asked how you could have understood that you were in love with him and you answered that, when the day would have come, I would have understood it by myself. I think the day has come.
Tears of joy rolled down Jiang Yanli’s eyes and she placed the paper on her heart. Finally her A-Xian had found someone to love after many years of suffering and pain. She was awaiting that moment since she found happiness with her husband! There couldn’t be a notice that could make her happier.
He’s Lan Zhan and, God, I really love him. I really wonder how could I live so many years without realizing it. I’d really like to invite you and your family to Gusu, but right now Lan Zhan and me are in a hectic love escape from Lan Wanji’s uncle. After the whole Meng Yao’s matter was finished -by the way, I got a glimpse of your husband and he’s not wounded-, Lan Qiren was going to kidnap Lan Zhan to bring him back to Cloud Recess, so we quickly left the place.
She sighed for the relief when she read that Zixuan was fine. When he left home some weeks ago, he said he had to (unwilling) take care of an important matter. He didn’t explain it further, but she understood that, for the second time in her life, she would have seen her husband against her dear brother. She cried, begging him to don’t go: in the war assault to Burial Mounds, Wei Wuxian died and Jin Zixuan barely survived. She didn’t want to see the same thing repeated after thirteen years, but her husband promised her that he would have anything in his power to prevent it. Then she discovered that her first son, Jin Ling, was kidnapped with other disciples coming from different schools and Meng Yao blamed Wei Ying for this. In the end Meng Yao was the mastermind behind that and many other crimes.
But what was important to her was that the people she loved were safe and sound and that Jin Zixuan and Jin Ling would have been at home soon. For the time they were gone, her belly became bigger and she was awaiting to see their surprised faces when they would have looked at her.
We already bowed two times and soon we are going to legally be husband and wife. If I had never met him during this life, when I woke up in Mo Xianyu’s body, I wouldn't have known what to do. Probably I would have traveled around the world, without telling anybody my true identity; but since I met him, my life has a meaning and I have finally found a place that I can call home. There are so many things that I need to tell you, for example that Lan Zhan and I are fathers now, but I’d like to tell you these things face to face in front of a cup of tea in the Cloud Recess.
A-Xian.
Finally things went in the correct directions. The peace in Karp tower was interrupted by a joius scream:”Mooom, they are back. Father and A-Ling are back”. Jiang Yanli hastily rose up and she runned towards the cortile. Soon in her sight appeared many figures dressed with yellow robes and ahead were Jin Zixuan and Jing Ling. A-Quing was already running towards them and she jumped at Jin Ling’s feet until he took her in his arms.
"We are back” Jin Zixuan smiled at her and she kissed her when they were in the privacy of their bedroom. “Mhmm? Have you gained weight since I left? I don’t remember you had this bellypot when I left” he asked and she blushed, posing a hand on her stomach. “Well… you see…” she stuttered, but he had already understood everything. “A-Are you pregnant?” he wondered rhetorically with disbelief and she nodded:”Yes, A-Ling and A-A-Quing are going to have another sibling soon”.
Although it was the third time going through this scene, Jin Zixuan cried nothenless. He posed his hand on Jiang Yanli’s and he whispered with a sweet voice:”I look forward to see you soon. I can promise that you will be really loved”. “I hope it will be a boy as brave as you” she said and the other absolutely refused:”I hope not. Dealing with A-Ling is enough. I want her to be a girl like you”.
That night they celebrated in their own way. Jin Zixuan laid her on the bed as he kissed her slowly. The fingertips trailed over her belly, still don’t completely believing that what's in front of him was true: for the third time he was going to have a child. He still remembers the anxiety when he discovered his wife was pregnant -he actually fainted, but nobody knew this.
“Thank you” he said, the eyes a bit wet from the tears of commotion , “Thank you for everything”. Jiang Yanli tenderly embraced him, kissing him sweetly and the man pressed another kiss for some seconds before showering her with brief kisses barely a breath away from each other. Hugging him with one arm thrown over his shoulders, Jiang Yanli closed the space between their bodies, leaving the tips of their noses touching. Letting out a soft chuckle, they kissed nonstop.
After a while they became hotter and more passionated, their hands caressed neck and cheek burned at the mutual touch. “I do not want to risk hurting you, not at this late stage, so I’ll be careful” he said, leaning in and kissing her forehead, “I know you won’t” she reassured him. Jin Zixuan's chest was so full of happiness that it almost hurt. How can a heart contain this much love? He tried to find the answer since he married her.
When they took off their clothes, he noticed how swollen her breasts were. He left her two months ago and if her belly was so big, it meant that when he went after Wei Wuxian she was at the third or at the fourth month. He remembered from the last pregnancy that around that time Jiang Yanli’s back hurt for the weight of the breasts full of milk and they were more sensible.
So that night he got an idea. He took a glance at the heavy abdomen and caressed it with his fingers. He kissed a trail down from Jiang Yanli’s slender neck, and passing through prominent collarbones, he soon arrived at the chest. Gliding over the sensitive skin with his thumb, he got to one of the big and puffy buds resting on top of his breasts and he pressed it.
As his wife started to moan and breathe his name, Jin Zixuan drew near his mouth to the other nipple and started sucking, making Jiang Yanli groan. He played with it using his tongue, encircling and pressing it a couple of times which only made her body shivering until a milky liquid began to fill Jin Zixuan’s mouth.
With a last, long, and improper sucking sound, Jin Zixuan finally freed Jiang Yanli from his mouth. Giving a last lick, he moved to the other. Sucking once again, Jiang Yanli breathlessly cried out, and reaching with her hand, she intertwined her trembling fingers on Jin Zixuan’s hair. He paused to take a breath and watched her. In her eyes the plea of going forward was clear, but she was too shy to say it. His wife was so cute!
Suddenly, Jiang Yanli felt not only a pressure also between her tights. Without strength to really close the legs she once more gripped tightly Jin Zixuan’s hair, pulling at it as a way to relieve the tension provoked by his knee, which kept rubbing her inner thighs, too much close to her entrance. As he started to finger her, he continued to suck, and with a whimper, Jiang Yanli put her hand over Jin Zixuan's shoulder.
He gradually increased in speed and the pressure and heat grew along with it, drawing groans from her. She came as soon as he grazed the sensitive bundle of nerves. “H-Husband…” she called him and Jin Zixuan passed one of her legs on his shoulders.
He started to move, having some difficulties with how big her belly was, careful of going slow to don’t hurt her. He nibbled her chest again and drowned his wife groans in a kiss. When he noticed that their climax was close, his thrust became more erratic, pounding her entrance. Their lips met once again and, breathing the other’s name, they came.
After the mess was finally cleaned up, the bodies washed and the bedding changed, they laid on the bed again. Jiang Yanli pressed her back on the bed and Jin Zixuan caressed her belly, gazing tenderly and lovingly at the life that was growing inside her. He placed a hand on and he almost cried then he felt a kick. “It just kicked, A-Li, he kicked. Has he recognized me as his father?” he exclaimed excited as a tear of happiness rolled down his eyes, “Yes, it has. This is how it communicates that he wants to see you” Jiang Yanli chuckled.

Regrets and Curses, by selle_hann
So, now, Lan Wangji can’t help but assume that there really is something wrong with Wei Wuxian. How can he tell Wei Wuxian that the confession in Caiyi Town was an event that happened years ago? That it’s something both of them should long forget and move on from? So, slowly, as Lan Wangji finds his words, he says,
“Wei Ying, I apologize. But, do you remember what you were doing before arriving here?”
It’s Wei Wuxian’s turn to look puzzled. “What do you mean, Lan Zhan?”
“That note that you were talking about… and the confessions. It is something that had already happened.”, Lan Wangji continues, “It has happened… seven years ago.”

“Jin Ling, how many times–” Jiang Cheng started, but before he could gear up for his lecture, Jin Ling shoved a piece of paper at him, bunched up and wrinkled from where it had been clutched in his fist.
“Jiujiu, there’s a problem,” Jin Ling said, and looking at him closer, he did seem concerned.
The Juniors approach Jiang Cheng with a request for help. It seems that Wei Wuxian is in trouble. Again.

Love that (doesn't) Burn Through My Heart, by Moonpuddles
The days are getting warmer before cooling down in preparation for autumn. Even the Lans are not completely immune to the might of the tiger of the fall, and Lan Zhan is lying on the cool floor of Jingshi in just his underclothes, his eyes closed. His hair is in a braid, and the stray bits of hair sway softly in the wind as Wei Wuxian dutifully fans his tuanshan over him.

The Burial Mounds is known to be full of the dead, but no one knows that it was once a land full of life. And in that life, there is a guardian protecting the land throughout the years even after it became known as the Burial Mounds.
Even now, the guardian spirit is still there, waiting for the day the land would recover once more.

The gossips had eagerly seized upon the tale of Madam Yu’s increasingly desperate attempts to get her ward and son to return to Lotus Pier. They had hardly sparred a word to describe Wei Wuxian’s victory before they turned to speculating if the two had eloped.
Lan Wanji had heard every rumor, but it was different to her the story from Wei Wuxian's mouth.

Excuse me for not making my own post but like, contra-argument
Wei Wuxian Could be a gryffindor yes, but I raise you Ravenclaw or Hufflepuff
For once, hes an inventor and cares for knowledge for its own sake, instead of for power, he is good at art, hes chaotic, hes weird in a very Mad scientist way, and also hes very smart
On the hufflepuff front, hes very loyal and suprsingly hard working when it comes down to it, and he cares so much for his family and friends (ehich is one of the main reasons someone would sort him slytherin honestly).
Im personally leaning more towards Ravenclaw, but thats definetly personal Bias
Lan Wanji on the other hand.. Gryffindor. Reasons: Hermoine Granger, and by that I mean the way he interacts with rules and morality
Jiang Cheng, sue me hes a Hufflepuff or Slytherin thru and thru and just. His main values are Family and Sect and things like Legacy. Honestly I think both he and Madam Yu are just Slytherins, if he was a Gryffindor he wouldnt have put the well being of his family and sect over "the greater good" in such a pragamtical way
Lan Xichen? Is? A ? Hufflepuff ? No I will not elaborate
Huiasang I can see as a Hufflepuff, but I headcannon him as a Ravenclaw so bad, his main interest is literally art and literature. He does have the animal care which Is quite hufflepuff, and he is fiercly loyal, but hes also creative, a bit of a mess, acts like an airhead and extremly intelegent (He is not a slytherin for the same reason Im not. absolutely no ambition whatsoever)
Wen Ning. well what ambitions does our boy even have? Now see, Wen Qing is definetly 100% a Slytherin, but our boy Wen Ning couldnt be more of a Hufflepuff. He put his family in danger for his friend that he didnt even know That well? Hes extremly loyal and kind and hardworking? Yes he cares greatlu for his family, but he does it in a Hufflepuff way
I can definetly see where your headcannons on this come from, but also i think its really funny how the Jiang Family is basically 2 Hufflepuffs (Jiang Fengiman and Jiang Yanli) and 2 Slytherins (Madame Yu and Jiang Wanyin) and Wei Wuxian is just there like. Neither, no matter if hes a Ravenclaw or Gryffindor, and I can see the story paralell of put everyone from a villainous family in Slytherin, but it just doesnt work for our boy Wen Ning
Of course we all agree Jin Guangyao is a Slytherin, Mingjue I agree, probably a Gryffindor (which does add the fun dynamic of Xichen, wherever hes Ravenclaw or Hufflepuff being the mediator), Jin Zixuan I think gryffindor, Mianmian is very much a gryffindor, but the yellow clothes always make me think a bit of hufflepuff,
The Juniors... i have very little idea other htne Jin Ling is either in Hufflepuff or Gryffindor and Jingyi is definetly in Gryffindor, Sizhui. i just. dont know
Also I recognise that I just placed the Lan brothers places without much reasoning But I do have reasons for it just takes me a lot of trying to put words to connections that seem so obvious in my mind that I avoid doing it. It goes like : Lan Zhan something something morality, something something the rules untill its shown theyre not the most moral, something something yeah he protecc library but so would hermoine, and he acts a lot like her in class just less loud. yes i do find quiet gryffindors hard to comprehend but I feel like if you out him in the good hogwarts house quiz (the primary and secondary one thats quite long) hed come out Gryffindor in the end, because to him being morally 1upstanding is more improtant then the rules and impuslive
And lan xichen... he doesnt care that much for knowedge and also he smokes pot behind the greenhouses with the other puffs
MDZS as Hogwarts houses pt.1
1. Wei Wuxian Gryffindor -Anyone who says he’s a Slytherin can come fight me, I’m ready -Yes, he’s ambitous and cunning -BUT he’s also brave, daring, reckless and would do ANYTHING for his family and friends -I also believe Yunmenjiang is Gryffindor so… -He’s so Gryffindor and I just can’t explain how much I need this I’m sorry -he can be a Gryffindor that strays to the wrong path for the name of good (which is literally what happened) -Playful and always in trouble -Probably the Gryffindor seeker
2. Lan Wangji Ravenclaw -Gusu Lan is all Ravenclaw yep -he looks good in blue….sorry -Probably a prefect -Catches Wei Wuxian red handed so many times Wei Wuxian is convinced he’s stalking him -He starts watching Wei Wuxian to make sure he’s behaving and accidentally develops a crush on him. -I’ll leave it to you if he plays quidditch or not~
3. Jiang Cheng Gryffindor -Lol he’s totally Gryffindor we all knew that -Definitely pretended not to know Wei Wuxian -Gets compared to Wei Wuxian a lot (WHICH NEEDS TO BE STOPPED) -Gets assigned to be head Gryffindor prefect an year early, that’s how powerful he is -of course he’s still a little bi- -Probably a beater
4.Lan Xichen Ravenclaw -Yeah, we all saw this coming too -Has the best riddle answers that doesn’t make sense but still does?? -The door hates it -Head Ravenclaw prefect -Everyone comes to him for help in studies, from all houses.
5. Nie Huaisang Hufflepuff -He might be one of the smartest manipulative characters I’ve met -But also one of the most innocent looking (Which is totally Hufflepuff vibes) -Probably made friendship bracelets for everyone -Idk why but his brother is probably Gryffindor?????????? -and expected Huaisang to be Gryffindor too but nope. -Huaisang is very proud of his house though -plus he’s very loyal to those he love (I mean he did ALL THAT to avenge his brother)
I have this whole headcanon that Nie Mingjue was the head Gryffindor prefect but was killed by He-who-shall-not-be-named (and it’s not Voldemort lol we know who). Which is why Jiang Cheng was chosen to be head prefect early.
6. Wen Ning Slytherin -He’s a Wen sect and has their ways drilled into him, no matter how much of a sweetheart he is, my best boy is Slytherin. -If Wei Wuxian can become a half evil Gryffindor he’s gonna be a good Slytherin -plus he’s a total badass when mad -And though he’s not cunning he’s quite ambitious and resourceful -He’s Slytherin, end of story.
Aight! That’s it for now, you’re free to give your opinions but please respect mine as well. I’ll be making a part 2 for the juniors, and if you request me any maybe a part 3?
Oh yeah, which house do you thiink Sizhui would be in??? Boy been everywhere.
#mdzs#look ive been in the harry potter fandom for way too long to not have opinions about sortings#hogwarts houses#I am a firm believer in ravenclaw huiasang#i usually lean towards ravenclaw wwx because Im a ravenclaw and I find him highly relatable also look at his friendship with wen qing#.. but like in my head i guess#also just. the jiang family im firm in my beliefs on that#theyre jsut hufflepuffs and slytherins and wei ying is there like. yeah nah#but it Would be thematical for him to be ahufflepuff and that to be another point of tension for madame yu between jc and him#ooh what if. Cangse Sanren was aGyrffindor and Wei Changze was a Hufflepuff#heascannon added but depending on the fic Wei Changze could be both a hufflepuff amd a ravenclaw honestly#we have so little info that sorting isnt that straight forward#xiao xichen is a hufflepuff#im not against xue yang beinga slytherin but idk aboit it#AQing is a gryffindor thou#yes I have headcannons and i wont stop#cql#modao zushi

Small sect leader Jin, by Aitheriomeraki (3 chapters)
Wei Wuxian looked at the other three who were now doing their best to not meet his eyes. He then looked back at the admittedly adorable sleeping toddler with a vermilion and some familiar features. It then clicked in Wei Wuxian’s head hoping it wasn’t true as he connected the dots.
No Jin Ling, nervous expressions on their faces, a toddler in Jin robes and familiar features
Could it really be..?
“Please don’t tell me that toddler is A-ling.” Wei Wuxian muttered and closed his eyes thinking about how Jiang Cheng was one hundred percent going to whip him, break his legs, and send a pack of dogs after him. Not that Lan Wangji would ever allow something like that to happen, Wei Wuxian thought as he tried to calm himself. It could still be another Jin, he reasoned out, maybe a cousi-

Note
What if Wei Wuxian never gets over it. What if no matter what Jiang Cheng or the Lan juniors or Wen Ning do, he still feels empty. No matter how much love everyone is trying to show him, it’s just not the right one and it’s just killing him inside everyday that he knows Lan Wangji can’t ever love him again. Everyday, he keeps having to stop himself from turning around and expecting a person to catch when he falls and a person to share his heart, a person who he sees as his soulmate but no one is ever there. Then, one day, it gets all too much, it feels like he is drowning in the shadows of ones who loved him before way too often now and he doesn’t know how to live anymore.
Lan Wangji has been regretting letting Wei Ying go since the first day. His bed feels too empty for him to sleep, his head keeps turning to see someone smiling at him and looking like they are the happiest person in the world. He used to chase the ghost of the fifteen year old teasing him, and sees glimpses of that in Wei Ying but it hurts all the same, it still screams at him that he was not good enough to protect him. And yet it feels more hollow and hurts more than he could remember now that Wei Ying has left instead of the world taking him away.
Lan Wangji decides to chase him back, to fight whoever tries to stop him and get his Wei Ying back. He storms into Lotus Pier and fights his way to where he knew Wei Ying’s room was. Lan wanji pushed the door open as Jiang Cheng uses Zidian to whip him down to the floor.
First he smells iron. And then he heard a scream. Then he opens his eyes only to see red. He cant see anything but red and what used to be the body of the one he loves. And he breaks.
Ok ok I know it's totally impossible but just imagine. The prompt where WWX is sure their marriage isn't going to last and it's true(once again- impossible, but) Soon LWJ can't see the 15 years old boy he fell in love with, he just see a stranger, and WWX isnt as bright as he remembered him to be. And soon after all Lan elders happily say their goodbays to WWX standing outside CR never to be allowed to step here again. LWJ's love was for a person he used to be. Now all he can do is walk away 1/2
2/2 now all he can do is walk away. Once again leaving his good life, once again being shunned away. Maybe he will come to Yiling? He was there as a street rat, as Yiling Patriarch- he came there every time he was in the worst shape… Even though he loves LZ so much, he will willingly leave so as to let LZ cherish the memory of him from the past. He will never be the same so LZ can’t love him the same. (idk what I’m writing now) and as tears begin pouring down, WWX won’t look back
This makes me so Sad but so Angry at the same time!
How can Lan Wangji expect Wei Wuxian to still behave the same way he did at fifteen! No grown adult should be the same person they were at fifteen! Lan Wangji sure as hell isn’t! And Wei Wuxian has been through some shit! Dude has been traumatized more times then I care to count, fought in a war, seen his loved ones die, died himself, ect.
Honestly this ask has been haunting me all day so you’re getting a mess.
I need Jiang Cheng to come swooping in to snatch Wei Wuxian up as he leaves Gusu. He and Wei Wuxian have some shit to settle and Jiang Cheng wants his brother back home. The recent divorce is a good enough excuse for him.
I need Jin Ling to feel personally insulted that Hanguang-Jun ended his marriage to the guy he doesn’t want to admit to being is uncle.
I need Wen Ning to stick close to Wei Wuxian as his ever faithful companion, just being there to remind him that he isn’t alone and there are people who love him.
I need the Lan Juniors to constantly take detours on their way home from night hunts to visit Wei Wuxian in Lotus Pier.
I need Lan Sizhui to feel torn and angry at Lan Wangji. How could he just stop loving Wei Wuxian, the man he played Inquiry for thirteen years for? How could he just send Wei Wuxian away like he was a pest he wanted to be rid of?
I need Lan Wangji’s life to suddenly be empty again. Gone is the warmth and happiness Wei Wuxian brought everywhere he went. Gone are the meals filled with chatter and teasing. No more laughter or kisses or unconditional love.
