Feel free to elaborate more on the family magic, I’m very interested in your thoughts and opinions on it
hskgahagsgje!!!!!!! anon!!!
*coughs* moving on.
man, family magic is—such a handwavey, nebulous fanon term. it can mean so much & depends heavily on ur world building, imo.
here’s a few of my fav interpretations of it tho:
- magic gets compounded across generations, slowly becoming more like a communal well that people can dip into instead of individual reserves. it’s why family & blood is so sacred/imp in the WW, because not only can u trace ur lineage, but it can often correlate to power levels/skills as well. (for eg: metamorphmagus being a black family trait)
- family magic as sentient. i think,,,a marauders plan had this but it it could basically be weilded defensively/offensively by the person deemed worthy of it by the family magic. so it takes the shape of whichever animal is the family’s motif/traditional protector.
- perhaps one of my favs—family magic evolving to have certain skills that the members excel in. familial affinities, if u will. some examples are battle magic, illusion magic, potions ability, heightened defensive skills, alchemical magic, fertility magic etc etc. it’s. a bit,,,essentialist ngl but it’s also just really fun?
- family magic as something you achieve through ritual and worthiness, and it gives u a general boost magically & physically. (and in one particular fic, tattoos of animals w a connection to u)
i also just love like—the concept of lordships/headships and family/blood having more than just symbolic weight ykno? so when u combine family magic w this, it’s like—the head has a lot of power over the other members. casting them away takes on a whole other meaning; u can limit their magical abilities, punish them harshly, take control of family wards creatively etc etc the list is never ending ykno?
i think what i really like about it is like, this element of otherworldliness about it? like, at it’s core, the WW is a completely separate, isolated society ykno? it stands to reason that their cultural/magical practices would be distinct from muggle ones. and it’s just…fun to imagine how. i’m also a huge fan of sentient magic so i feel like that’ll also play a role in how their society has evolved. and if blood is really such a big deal, if that’s the one variable they structure their entire population around—well, stands to reason there would be some reason for it, perceived or otherwise.
#that bit of weirdness in the beginning is bc im always so !!! when someone asks for my opinion hehe#it’s just—wack#anyway. family magic is really very subjective#and can mean anything#it really depends on which part speaks to u#also!!! if i’m giving my own example#this one fic i was working on months ago—i delved into worldbuilding#and family magics#and it involves the importance of a head and a hearth#and not having one or both can lead to deteriorating family magic which can have an effect on the members#bc the magic is ‘upset’ so to say#it’s almost—like a form of wizarding religion i’d say?#except more personal and individualised#i find it hard to believe some forms of superstitions/beliefs didn’t arise in the WW#particularly when so much of what they do is *invisible*#historically that is the most fertile ground for religion/spirituality to crop up#anyway sorry i went off on a while rant there lol#i just got excited#this is my fav way to speculate about & interact w hp#bc it’s such a fantastical world and u have so many possibilities ykno?#pen’s asks

Soul Experiment AU: Experiment 041: Ink
Thanks for the support on my previous post about this au!! Since Ink and Error are going to be the "main" characters in this au. I thought I would start with them. I have more ideas on what to do with Ink though so we're starting with him. I'm going to do a poll after this so you guys can decide who I post about next. I'm planning on posting about one character per day as well as posting about my magic/soul system and then I'll work on some other stuff for this au like maybe a fanfic if enough people like it. (I'm also aware of how badly this is written, it's hard to fit all the details in this post alone. There will be separate posts about each character that take the form of Error's "Scientific Entries" but I wanted to go for a more narrative format here. Once again, ask box is open if you need clarification on anything here. I will answer even if I plan on including it in another post.)
To begin with, Ink actually has a Soul in this au, but it just doesn't work properly. Monster Souls work as both the heart, brain, and all other organs that would normally be present in the body of a Human. The "brain" functions of Ink's soul do not function properly, as his soul does not produce the magic needed for emotions and motor functions. This is where Error comes in.
Ink was taken to the lab to be used as a subject for experiments under the name "John Doe" as he had no identification, probably no family, and it was thought that he was fallen down, and that there was no hope for him. Ink was exactly what Error was looking for in a subject, a skeleton monster, fallen down so his soul must be in a deteriorative state, and he was completely unresponsive to any and all stimuli. This made him the perfect subject for Error to test the different ways he was going to wake up Geno.
Once Ink arrived to the lab, however, and Error got to do a proper examination of the nameless shorter skeleton, he came upon a problem. This Monster... wasn't fallen down. Sure, he was unresponsive in a way that was incredibly similar to the coma-like state of a fallen Monster, but it was different. Ink's soul was completely intact and undamaged, and so was his body, his HP and all other stats were completely fine, so what the hell was wrong with the subject?
Error called in the Joku twins, Dream and Nightmare, both coming from a family of Monsters with emotion-based abilities, both brothers being the last of the line and with the strongest recorded abilities. They sensed... Nothing? There was no emotional output from the nameless skeleton's Soul whatsoever, or even any emotional input, since neither of the twin's auras had any effect. This is where the experimentations began.
First line of business was to identify the problem. A Monster's Soul is similar to an organ, yes, but also so much more complex. Was the problem within the emotional magic portion of this Monster's Soul? Or was there another underlying problem that was causing it? If this Monster truly did lack the ability to produce emotions in his Soul, so much so that he was in a vegetative state, then how was he alive? How had he lived to be around the same age as Error? The scientist shook his head, 'I have more urgent things to worry about with this subject.'
A breakthrough. There was a breakthrough in Error's research that he had never seen coming. He had figured out how to isolate the emotional magic in a Monster's Soul. More importantly, he had figured out how to extract it. It wasn't a nice process, the Monster's had to be fully alive and aware during the extraction, which was incredibly painful and had lead to the death of many subjects, but it was incredible. If Error could manage to directly transfer magic from one monster to another, he could very well do similar with Human Soul traits or even entire souls.
However, this had to be tested first.
The original trial of Ink's colors is one of the few he can actually remember. He woke up on a cold metal stretcher with a bunch of machines making noise around him. His whole body felt weird and heavy. He was feeling emotions at the time, yes, but also didn't feel quite right. Like something was missing or that he didn't have enough of something. This was, of course, due to Error only providing a low dosage to start with, in case anything went wrong. Ink, of course, didn't know that, nor did the notice the glitchy skeleton wearing a lab coat that was sitting in the corner of the room, observing quietly and taking notes.
Ink blacked out again within two hours.
There was lots of testing done after that. The first trial was called that for a reason, after all.
Error introduced himself properly to the shorter skeleton by the time of the second test, seeing how the subject would respond to another person, which was met with overwhelming enthusiasm and then a puddle of vomit on his shoes.
That was a problematic side effect.
The main problem with harvesting emotional magic is that each emotion has to be harvested individually, and each is a different color. This was a problem because no particular label was given to any color, so testing each color and then recording the results was the most probable solution. Followed by giving more or less to see what dosage was the right one. There may or may not be a particularly ripped page in a notebook that desperately outlines the dangers of an intense amount of red.
Every time a test was conducted, Error would ask a series of questions to see if the influence of different concoctions would yield different answers, but also to learn more about the individual with the strangely marked bones. Oddly enough. Ink had no memory of a time before waking up in the lab, and never remembered anything that happened between tests. The memory problems were consistent, unfortunately, however not on the level of amnesia that was previously suffered. "Ink" is a chosen name, based on the markings on his face and the rest of his body.
Months passed and eventually Subject 041, or "Ink" as he had chosen to be called, was functioning as properly as an individual with a malfunctioning soul could. Going outside the lab was an option now, and Ink does regularly. He carries around vials full of each color (He decided that ingesting it was much easier than the injection method being used prior) but still lives within the lab as it is the source of his ability to feel and is where most of his companions live. (Getting to see and bother Error on a daily is a plus too.)

Hey, what are your thoughts about Cassim raising Mozenrath instead of Destane raising Mozenrath? Would Mozenrath still be a sorcerer? I know that he’ll still have both hands. Would Mozenrath have to still kill someone in order to be able to stay with Cassim among the Forty Thieves?
Hi, a difficult question for me actually, because there are SOOO many options!
I have a few options in this context.
Let's say that Mozе and Al have different mothers (I stick to this because of the boys' difference in appearance). In this case, we have Mozenrath as a child from the first marriage, as he is older, and Aladdin as a child from the second marriage. In that case, Сassim's second marriage happened most likely because of the death of his first wife, because I don't think that if they had just divorced, that woman would have left a child to Сassim. So, based on this, Сass marries a second time and has a son named Aladdin. I think it's a lot likely that little Mozenrath could have developed jealousy that the focus of attention has now shifted to the younger child, plus he could think that his mother has been "replaced" and that he has been "replaced". In this case, their relationship with Сassim could have begun to deteriorate while they were still children, leading to their estrangement from each other. Later, at some point, as is the canon, Сass would have left to find a living, leaving Al, his wife(Zena) and Moze behind, in which case no child-rearing would have occurred. If we take the option that Cassim does not disappear from their lives but continues to live with them and participate in the upbringing of the children, Mozenrath continues to be estranged, as we remember that he has resented his father since childhood.
If we consider the more optimistic scenario that Cassim and Mozenrath's relationship remains good even after Cassim's second marriage and the birth of Aladdin, then we have a chance to see a good relationship develop. But again, let's not forget that in the canon Cassim left the family at some point. In this case we have a problem with upbringing - Cassim just doesn't participate in it and meets Mozenrath and Aladdin only at Aladdin's wedding many years later (and, as in the third film, Mozenrath together with Aladdin gets into the cave of forty thieves, where they have to fight for the right to be part of the team, killing two thieves). If Cass decides not to go anywhere, because for some reason the family has enough money, then we get the most favourable option - Cassim participates in the upbringing of the children and acquires generally good relations with his sons.
So, summing up, we still have a chance of a good outcome of events, in which Cassim and Mozenrath have good relations, Moze is not a sorcerer and not a bad person with a traumatised psyche (but naturally with flaws, because everyone has them).
About whether Mozenrath can have magical powers in the case that he doesn't get to Destane - yes. Suppose in the scenario that his mother had them and he inherited it. But in that case, Mozenrath wouldn't be a necromancer, and his magical powers would be of a different sort than the ones we saw in the tv series, and besides, Mozenrath would be left with two healthy arms.
Ufff, sorry for so much text, I tried to mention EVERYTHING. What do you think about my opinion? What are your thoughts on your own question?
P.S great decision to insert a giff into your question, it's always nice to see my favourite character.

and that was episode 6 of arcane, end of act ii. had a lot of what i was expecting but contained more than i wasn’t. okay, let’s go.
pt. 1
nearly every episode has opened with a flashback containing background on key characters and some minor (such as Grayson included in Caitlyn’s backstory) and this episode was no different.
Viktor is shown to have (almost definitely) been born with his limp/physical disability and so far shown with no parents or guardian figure(—scientist was more akin to a mentor or friend rather than actual caretaker). he also had always been into making, creating new things. like most children Viktor respected and loved nature and animals so he of course would go for the opportunity to help a creature as cute and friendly as Rio.
to make this review more character-centric, continuing with Viktor, his blood from the last episode integrated itself into what he and Jayce call the Hex Core. a magical hex gem with the ability to adapt and mutate when in congruence with organic matter. Viktor not so subtle mentions a handful of the benefits this can lead to including extended life and/or curing Viktor of his ailments. he leaves the lab, somewhat dejected and aware of his deteriorating condition to go find the scientist from his childhood as only now does he understand the desperation and reasoning behind doing what one can and “must” do to achieve specific results (i presume the scientist is creating Shimmer thru organic extractions and mutations because it’s the same one working for Silco and the color is undeniably in the same shade or tone). i hope this works out for him and that Rio hasn’t suffered all these years.
Ms. Young, or Sky, as we now know is her name is intriguing. we don’t know much about her yet but we know the following: she had to have come from the undercity as well, seeing as she at least *saw* Viktor and they were both at the same general location with other children, has an implied crush or interest in Viktor, and doesn’t seem to have the same or similar physical deficiencies as Vik so that even more lends credence to the possibility and theory that Vik was both with his ailment.
Jayce, Mel, and Heimendinger. Jayce is such a good guy at heart (like Vi) but damn… he’s already wrapped in stress and confiding in Mel only after sleeping with her one single time. you can also see the Mel isn’t used to someone coming to her genuinely interested and wanting her help and comfort (shows that she views herself as less respectable then she comes across which, is to be expected since she is someone who is mostly aware of her manipulations and desires and what they can lead to). and she is an exiled, outcasted member of her family yet is seemingly the main councilor (at her young age)… she is much accomplished and this duality makes a lot of sense for her character’s behavior. of course she wants to do much that she can to keep her status and power. she even got Jayce under her thumb. that isn’t to say she doesn’t have good intentions but she is rather open to letting things fall to the wayside if there’s more benefit to her than not.

Me: Aw, my ideas for ectonurite reproduction are unrealistic, good thing I can use magic and the presence of Anodyne to justify them!
The humble turritopsis dohrnii: Let me introduce myself
So, after bumbling the idea of how the freak ghosts would produce more of themselves, I can now use an actual real world base to actually understand how the mechanisms would work.
Even though I've linked where I found out about the aptly named 'immortal jellyfish' I'm not going to expect anyone to read it, especially since it's pretty dry as more of a scientific debrief on the life-after-adulthood cycle of the t. dohrnii, but to summarise; outside of the standard reproductive cycle, a 'reverse development' would start in the medusa stage (essentially the adult stage but both mature and immature medusae can reverse develop), transition to a ball-like cyst stage where their features disappear, then metamorphizse back into a polyp where it would then reenter the standard reproductive cycle by developing from a bud to an adult polyp again to reproduce asexually, creating medusae once again. It's not quite as extreme as to say it reverses it's mitosis, simply that the transition to becoming a cyst allows for the cells to metamorphose and reattach themselves to the sea floor as a polyp, a 'hydroid colony' with reproductive zooids (something about 'fulmini = siphonophore' post).
Anyway! That's the general gist and I wanna go ahead and apply that to ectonurite AND expand on how it'd define their culture, not just being genetically immortal but also how the different life stages interact socially.
One thing I didn't mention in the summary but will use as an introduction to this section is that a precursor to the reverse development process is a 'weakened' state, which aside from the slow natural degradation of aging and a more controllable but also slow deterioration from the environment (faster if the environment is at least slightly harmful), also includes physical damage. I know I haven't made a whole post about this before but I think I might've implied in other topics that ectonurites need to die in order to reproduce, but I suppose 'dying' is now less literal as it's more the cells work overtime to heal from whatever physical issue put the individual into their state, doing so by morphing them into what amounts as scar tissue; a cyst. A lesion, a wound, a scab. Something that will in it's own right metamorphose yet repair in it's own right, become something new directly from the old.
An ectonurite medusa, the main body beneath the skin, would undergo the process of reverse development and become a cyst, the skin it's new cocoon yet also it's sail, leading the pulsing core of the cyst where whatever winds will take it. It will eventually make landfall, whether it was lead by the environment or nurtured by observing family - siblings and cousins and auncles but no parents, parents are impossible to have - and it would begin to metamorphose using the skin as nutrients and begin the steps again to become a polyp, a sprouting flower. Wherever they had landed they have become something new, and will continue to develop into being that something new until they create themselves once again, being born of their own body and creating more than they had ever been alone. From one into a myriad, the budding of the polyp creates more of themself and though in large quantity, the mortality rate is quite frighteningly significant. However when all is said and done, the asexual reproduction of the polyp spawns new descendants of the original medusa, in clutches of 5-20 on average; some more... some less.
Ectonurite spawn are still affected by their anti-mana life force, in reaction to the intersection between the planes allowing Anodyne and Lederdomain influences to spread amongst Anur Phaetos, so no matter where they end up budding they still take on the traits and attributes of the life around them like a sun-hungry plant. Technically fully mature medusa are also affected by this but it occurs less due to their final state, it is the cyst that initially begins to integrate the medusa's external influences into it's genetics, which in turn it uses in it's metamorphosis including the older genes present in the skin. Sisters Zs'Iza and Zs'Oise are an example of such with their visibly transylian faces in addition to their skin having the bandaged texture of thep khufan's many limbs. They are also an example of the 'less than average' clutch size a polyp can develop, a scorn say a power-hungry High Ecto-lord cannot bare to face, let alone acknowledge that it was amongst his genetics to barely remain biologically immortal.
AKA the reason why Zs'Skayr held interest in the Omnitrix, preservation of his genetics in a way that his species could even compare to even as close as they try. Something about desiring something more when it is just out of reach instead of being completely unattainable, immortality an easy concept to grasp when it is not hard to deride reincarnation from ones own natural biology. Especially since with the technology of the Omnitrix inherently blocking the influence of mana and thus rendering Zs'Skayr completely himself without the genetic differences of the life around him.
Speaking of the High Ecto-lord (a dumb name I'll give it the benefit of a mistranslation of a Phaetan or even a general Anurian term into English to cope with it), politically with their reproduction in mind I can see it in two ways; an absolute monarchy where the High Ecto-lord passes the role to their next life or something like a post-constitutional monarchy (emphasis on post-monarchy) where ectonurites have biological knowledge to know that appointing the one literal same guy over an over again with absolute power is bullshit but they recognise them as a figurehead with a political force of chosen reps behind them. Having a preference for the second, I'll say that Zs'Skayr is extra motivated to figure out actual immortality of the self in order to retain what little rule he does have, especially if with his clutch sibling only ending up producing two young with no other family of his in Zs'Castle Zs'Skayr to speak for, it seems he is at the end of his rope and wants to cling onto that for as long as infeasibly possible.
Moving on and hah, reverse developing this discussion to an earlier point, let's go back to ectonurite cysts and expand what I mean by 'observing family'.
Ectonurites, though biologically immortal, do host something equivalent to that of a funeral. However, unlike most funerals where the person who's the main event OF the funeral is very much dead and lacking any agency over the event, ectonurites old significant age or those with a significant amount of physical damage host their own funeral; in some cases, either immature medusae who's current combination of genes have given them rapid cell death and accelerated aging, or someone is significantly injured they cannot do much anything else, a funeral is hosted for them. It's an event that simultaneously mourns the old and celebrates the new, where during the middle of the funeral the host instigates their reverse development (or it's instigated for them) and the procedure from medusa to cyst to polyp takes place. These events often take place outside, but if the atmosphere is thick enough and there are no land-locked species in attendance then they might take place in the air itself, if not the full event where maybe the host wants a feast or activities before they reverse then in the reversal itself. This is done to make sure the cyst has ample time to drift to be coerced into drifting into a spot they and the family agreed upon away from the event space, more often than not directed to a family garden or a community garden, but sometimes in spots the host specifically wished to drift to or even through chance alone.
This can have a few Karen moments treated similarly to the way say human mother-in-laws demand full creative control over their children's wedding or guests that want all the attention come wearing white to the very same, but applied to what is essentially simultaneously funerary rights and also a baby-shower hah. The Tr'Riken moment perhaps for family name given name *pans over to me scrabbling to piece together a Phaetan equivalent name to Karen* maybe Pani'Kn or given name family name, who knows.
And with funerals being as casual conversation as humans consider weddings to be, sometimes some auncles siblings and cousins like to push the idea of their family member hosting a funeral someday, especially since unlike marriage it's a pretty guaranteed thing to happen. Sometimes though family would pester ectonurites with benign or otherwise non-terminal diseases illnesses or disabilities with arranging funerals because 'well, this combination of genes hasn't really worked out for you, but if you spend time with [xyz] and host one maybe you could get a different pattern and avoid all that'.
What I haven't mentioned yet is the family and community gardens. Gardens of polyps that either live on family property or exist in lots where housing and or hospitals are close by. When one says biologically immortal one might assume that the polyps that produce their youth asexually would be also immortal and thus outgrow any physical lot, but that is untrue. Instead, though the polyps last much longer than a corpse would in addition to being around longer with maintenance of the family or community gardeners, they are not immune to dying of old age. Since polyps are not the reverse developing medusae they cannot themselves persist in life beyond death and just like all polyps do eventually come to pass. Unlike a funeral perhaps where there is a person to actively mourn however, the passing of a polyp is seen as beautiful. The medusae produced by the polyp have legal rights on what to do with the remains of functionally their earlier self, whether to perserve it like a flower crushed within the pages of a book (though much more elegantly than that), to seal it in some resin as the equivalent of an urn (a display piece that does not decay), or to let it 'metamorphose' one last time an let it feed the grounds of the garden it lived in.
Zs'Castle Zs'Skayr's entrance was guarded by pumpkins yes? Like a form of garden right? I wonder what happened to all the Zs' family's polyps *blinks innocently*?

These windows are designed to provide superior insulation, reducing heat loss during the colder months and preventing overheating in the summer. By minimizing temperature fluctuations, they can help protect your home's structure from the damaging effects of extreme weather conditions.
In addition to investing in quality windows, it's essential to regularly inspect and maintain your property's exterior to ensure it is well-equipped to withstand harsh weather. Consider reinforcing vulnerable areas such as roof overhangs, entryways, and outdoor structures prone to wind or water damage. By taking proactive measures and investing in energy-efficient solutions like sash windows, you can significantly reduce the risk of weather-related damage while enhancing the overall comfort and sustainability of your home in Kew.

Why do I think Lily Evans (Potter) was not a good friend?
Until recently, the general opinion of the fandom was that Lily Potter was a good girl, deified and the representation of purity and goodness. But, doing a more exhaustive study of the character, we can get to see how Lily evans maybe was not so holy and made mistakes due to her education and, possibly, depending on the stage of her life where she found herself when she made those mistakes.
In relation to Severus Snape, I think she was not a good friend. Regardless of his age, which we all understand that we do not see friendship in childhood, adolescence or adulthood, she also had defects that compared to other characters in the saga, they were not a role model.
Starting from the little we know about her through the worst memory and Snape's memories, we are going to take some situations into account to assess her defects:
She blamed Snape for the letter Petunia sent to Dumbledore.
She got mad at Snape for dropping a branch on Petunia, even though he did so unconsciously and Petunia was rude to him.
The discussion with Snape about what happened with Remus (werewolf accident), his distrust of who was her friend and believing others before, not caring about Snape.
The lake scene, where she never addressed Snape once, as if he didn't know him and was just another boy to help.
The same lake scene, where she taunted Snape after he called her "Mudblood".
Now, let's talk about the problems at different levels (social, emotional, mental, physical and cultural):
Social: Snape comes from a lower social class than Lily and, although at first the girl Lily did not see the difference, I suppose that as time passed she realized that it did not look good for Snape to wear second hand clothes (surely ), he had serious problems in the family sphere, Snape's own unsociable nature that did not allow him to have a larger group of friends. In childhood we do not usually take into account the social variable when making friends with other children (pre-Hogwarts), but as she became related to the peer group at Hogwarts, she surely could not help feeling somewhat ashamed of the friendship with Snape . Let me explain, in Snape's adulthood it seems that no one knew about Lily and Snape's friendship, so it would be a secret friendship (and we all know that shame towards the other is what leads to secret friendships and relationships).
Emotional: Lily quickly connected with Snape because there was something she needed from him, and it was the knowledge and the desire to be accepted in a place like Hogwarts. Hogwarts was a new world that she did not know and Snape could offer her the security of knowing that world ... But, when she knew what she had to know, Snape had nothing more to offer her, but a clandestine and unrewarding friendship for her. It is not a mistake to think this, but it does show that she deliberately used Snape and that their friendship deteriorated over time. I think she might have felt friendship for Snape in a pure way, but when she began to be friends with the marauders, her emotional level turned towards these guys and she began to move away from Snape. I think the dark arts were an excuse to end the friendship, wanting to get away from him in an interested way ... it's easy to think that, when you really feel empathy for someone, you try to make the effort to understand that person, to know why him he likes the dark arts. However, she Lily was not able to understand him, understand his fears, his insecurities and the need to flee from the hell where he was stuck.Referring to the lake scene, I think Lily had a complete dissociation from Snape by now, she didn't defend being his friend, she didn't speak to him directly even once, and when he made a mistake due to the situation, she scoffed of him and "flirted" with James.
Mental: I think Lily never understood the true meaning of friendship, not at least as she later taught us Harry by understanding Ron and Hermione and accepting his flaws, even when this child was only 11 years old. I think that Lily, as soon as she could, got rid of Snape because she no longer wanted to have an uncomfortable friend, a friend who surely helped her for years in her studies at Hogwarts (I mean surely potions). Snape was like a teacher for Lily in her access to the magical world, he helped her in the study and knowledge of the magical world and I think that Lily stopped seeing usefulness when she already found in Gryffindor and the marauders the way to go her way . I mean, I think she coldly weighed whether or not she was interested in staying friends with Snape and she conveniently cut off the friendship when she got the chance. Lily showed herself to be a cold person who did not understand what Snape was in her whole and who did not appreciate all that he had done for her.I know that calling her "Mudbloods" was not right, but instead of trying to understand the shame and harassment that Snape felt at that time, she broke off the friendship and remained friends with the stalker, the one who emotionally blackmailed her and who continued to be a bully. No one can convince me otherwise.
Physical: here we will talk about the implications of a person who is not really physically attractive. There are studies that determine that people who do not fit the standards of beauty tend to have fewer opportunities in social relationships, love relationships or even find a job. With all this I mean that, when we are children, we do not care about anyone's physical appearance, but when we reach adolescence, our group of equals teach us the canons of beauty, which is considered handsome or what not. In this case, I think Lily was superficial. That is to say, Snape was not physically attractive, surely he did not look comfortable being with him because she was a popular, pretty girl, and he was attracted to a boy who was much more attractive than Snape (even though James was, in my opinion, uglier emotionally and disrespectful to others, adding being a bully). Lily preferred to go for the handsome boy rather than choose a loyal friend who was unattractive.
Cultural: At this level many factors enter, but here I will choose to talk about the differences of ideologies and different culture between Slytherin and Gryffindor. As we know, both houses were enemies, they were the contrast between good and evil in the Harry Potter saga. Slytherin represented everything bad and Gryffindor everything good. Here we also talk about the peer group (that is, a group of people that we consider our equals and from whom we learn cultural, social, emotional and behavioral factors), where Lily in the end ended up choosing to choose Gryffindor and be immersed in ideas prefabs that already existed about Slytherin even though, surely, many ideas were not true. Some of these ideas were hatred towards the "dirty bloods", defending the purity of blood, ambition as a negative element and cunning as if it were something bad that always leads to cheating.Where I see these preconceptions most clearly is in the scene where Lily argues with Snape for defending Mulciber, etc ... in this scene it seems that Lily puts the marauders before (she is supposed to talk about them) because they are from her house and believes that what Mulciber does is worse because he is in Slytherin. Being in Gryffindor, she is believed to have the moral superiority and the right to claim Snape to choose a position, when obviously Snape, like Lily, will choose their peer group. The point here is that Lily prefers to believe the marauders and put Snape in the guilty position, without even asking if his friend is okay or asking him what he saw ... Lily is not interested in knowing what happened because surely he was content with James's version and would always doubt any version Snape could give it.
Up to here, I did my study. It is a bit lazy, I wrote it on the fly and remembering some of the knowledge I acquired when I was studying Pedagogy. But, in essence, I hope you have understood. In the end, Lily opted for what she considered to be okay based on ideas and beliefs that she ended up having with her peer group. She put her friendship with the marauders first and decided to coldly and selfishly eliminate her friendship with Snape. In the end, we have all had friends from whom we have moved away because they no longer shared things with us (although I can presume that I never alienated anyone for thinking differently or liking things that I did not like), but also friends that we have from all our lives, with those of us who do not like things about them, but accept them and try to understand them, where the company of that person is valued more and we do not care what they tell us. It is true that the "peer group" exerts a lot of influence on us, despising those who consider strange people or have unusual habits for the majority of the population. But Snape and Lily met in childhood, this factor should not have been decisive for their estrangement and, I am afraid, that in the almost of Lily, he ended up accepting the conditions of his peer group to the detriment of maintaining a friendship that so much contributed. I don't hate Lily, I have no problem with her, for me she really is a flat character, too overrated and that only has a few three lines in the entire Harry Potter saga. It is impossible to empathize with her as we would with other characters and she hardly has any development of her. The most remarkable thing about her is that she gave her life for her son, otherwise she showed us a girl who had a strange friendship with Snape and who married the popular boy of her time.

======
The carriage ride up to the castle was very uncomfortable, to say the least. Cedric tried to get you to talk but once his friends started talking, they made you feel out of place. His friends talked about all the wild adventures they had this summer and reminisced about years past together. All stuff that didn’t include or relate to you.
The only time Cedric’s friends seemed to have an interest in you when they spoke about Quidditch merely because you were a chaser on the team. And when you did talk, they just ignored you or rolled their eyes. You just wished you could do first year all over again and reintroduce yourself to everyone.
Nonetheless, you did appreciate Cedric for trying to help you make new friends but you’d rather keep to yourself. Making friends is hard when all people see is your last name.
Walking into the Great Hall with the group, you gaze up at the tall ceiling. It’s bewitched to emulate the sky outside. Every year you are welcomed by it. You believe it helps with the new year jitters and the claustrophobia of hundreds of children in one room.
You start to trail behind Cedric and his friends, taking it all in. This is your home. The floating candles, the professors sitting at the front of the room, the natural warmth of the castle just screams belonging. A large smile appears on your face once again, something that only this place can bring.
This year you are determined to focus on your studies… specifically Care of Magical Creatures. You’ve been reading all summer to get ahead in that class. Being a Malfoy, people don’t see your family as the caring or gentle type. They’ve proven that. Which, unfortunately, Care of Magical Creatures is all about. But, unlike the rest of the Malfoys, Hagrid has said you have a special talent when it comes to caring for creatures. You are gentle and caring. Hence the reason why you were put into Hufflepuff. So, you want to prove to everyone else, and your family, that a Malfoy can have a heart.
“Daydreaming yet again, Yeti?” Cedric’s chuckle interrupts your thoughts. He noticed you straying away from the group and saw you just standing there, staring up at the sky. This didn’t surprise him, you’ve always seemed to be in your own world or gathered up in thoughts.
You shake your head fondly at the nickname. It originated one day when he was trying to cheer you up after he found you crying in the hallway. You had failed your team at the last Quidditch match, falling off your broom and knocking Cedric off along the way. Ultimately costing the winning catch that secured the team a tremendous lead in the rankings.
The team collectively decided that they didn’t need you anymore so they never told when practices were. The backlash from your house was horrid too. People who taunted you in the hallways or blamed the fact that “Malfoy needed to have all the attention”. Hufflepuff has always been known as the kinder house but oh were they brutal.
It all led up to your break down in Charms when someone told you that maybe jinxing yourself to the broom might be helpful. Cedric, as big-hearted as he is, followed you out and comforted you. At first, you thought it was a sick joke, going off on him. In return he just called you a Yeti, comparing the fact that no one could ever get close enough to see the real way you live. Plus the fact that you were madly aggressive on the pitch. You knew that you made a friend after that.
“I was just thinking.” You confess, falling into step beside him as you make your way to the Hufflepuff table.
“That’s never good.”
“Oh, shut it, Diggory.” You laugh, giving his arm a slight slap. “I’m just excited about this year… Hagrid told me about all the new creatures Professor Kettleburn has in store for us.”
“Well, that is good then.” He corrects himself, taking a seat next to one of the beaters on the team. “I’m glad you’re excited about something. I know you talked about how nervous you were about Draco coming this year in your letters.”
You sigh, in the few letters you and Cedric shared during the summer, you’d confide in him about what’s been going at home; The newfound hope in Draco to carry on the Malfoy name with pride and loyalty. How they'd just left you in your room all summer to survive on your own while they made sure Draco had everything he needed to do so. It made you feel like shit. At first, when summer began, you thought things were getting better at home when you were welcomed with kind arms. Unfortunately, it was cut short when the realization of Draco’s first year was in a few months.
“Hey,” Cedric, once again, cuts your thoughts off. By this point he knows when you’re spiraling in your own head. “maybe it won’t be so bad after all.”
Right on cue, the first years all file in. Either looking lost or excited, it brings back memories of your first year. Remembering being so terrified of all the older kids staring as you walked past them. Wondering how Draco would fall in, you try looking for him. He wasn’t hard to find since in the front of the crowd, a devious smirk on his face as always. He knows what house he’s going to be in and he’s probably been boasting about it all the way here. It’s been drilled into his brain that he belongs in Slytherin, the house of the most powerful and legendary wizards. Which, according to your parents, Hufflepuff doesn’t have the means to accomplish.
Draco then takes a glance at said table. Seeing you looking out of place as ever and he rolls his eyes at it. Turning back to his friends and whispering something to them while pointing. They erupt into laughter and you frown slightly.
“Well, I don’t think your brother could be as bad as you were.” Malcolm Preece, another chaser on the team, decides to open his big mouth. He’s a fifth-year and he always has something to say. You grab the nearest thing and throw it at him, he dodges it. “Aye, I said were.” He defends himself and then casually goes back to his own conversation.
You bite your tongue and shoot daggers into the side of his head.
“Oh, I’ve missed you, (Y/N).” Cedric wraps an arm around your shoulders and gives you a small hug.
=====
“...this has to be a joke, Ced.” You whisper to him while Professor Quirrell goes on about the spell you’ll be learning this week. “How will this be useful in the eye of a duel?” You rhetorically ask him. “There’s no way this git is qualified to work here.”
“Oh, don’t be so harsh, (Y/N).” Cedric scolds as Quirrell commands the students to review their notes, “I’m sure he’s more than proven himself to Dumbledore to be here.”
“It’s a bloody tickling curse!” You stress, utterly dumbfounded on why you would be learning this. “In the midst of a battle, I don’t think my murderer would think of making me laugh to death.”
He just shakes his head at you, a small laugh escaping his lips at the image of it.
“It would be a good way to go.” Fred Weasley, the brute of all jokes himself, cuts in. Obviously, you weren’t whispering quiet enough. “Wouldn’t it be, Georgie?” He turns to his twin sitting beside him.
“I think so, Freddie.” He immediately agrees, you roll your eyes at the two. You know where this is going.
“Here we go,” You mumble.
“Imagine it,” George puts his hands in front of himself, widely gesturing with his quill. “Going toe to toe in battle, shouting wild curses at each other, wands waving, spells casting, and then, out of nowhere—” He suddenly stops, pointing his quill at you.
“Rictusempra!” The other one continues, “And, boom! You’re on the ground within seconds, laughing like a complete mad man. Utterly painless.” Some of your classmates laugh at them, you shake your head at the show. “A bliss way to die.” They both stare dreamingly into nothing, a small smile on both of their faces.
“You both are morons.” You deadpan, George just smirks while Fred has an exasperated look on his face.
“Morons?” He gasps, “Then, how would you like to die then, Malfoy?” He probes, his eyebrow hitched up. “A slow, painful death at the hands of a Dementor?” A few laugh.
“Preferably, yes.”
=====
You try to keep up with the fast steps of the Deputy Headmistress. Almost tripping over your robe as she speeds down the corridors, her own robes whizzing behind her. The fact that McGonagall is even accompanying you in a class switch makes your mind boggle since your head of house is Sprout.
“But, Professor, I don’t want to change subjects.” You beg, “It must be a mistake, I chose to take Muggle Studies this year, what happened?”
“Your father, Miss Malfoy.” She suddenly stops, you almost bump into her. “He demands you transfer into a different subject that doesn’t ‘deteriorate the brain’.” She quotes, “And I have to deal with it because Professor Sprout refuses to read his letters after the terrible scriptures he sent her over the last two years. I’ve got enough on my plate with my own students to be worried about hers.”
Your mouth drops, of course, he would’ve. You knew your father was mad about your house placement but you never thought he would go as far as to berated your head of house. At Hogwarts, your house is supposed to be your family no matter what and your father disrespecting your head was utterly disgusting.
“You shouldn’t be surprised, Miss Malfoy.” She continues to speak, obviously furious. “You knew this would happen when you signed up for the elective last year.”
You knew this would happen when you involuntarily signed up to be a Malfoy.
You frown, knowing she’s right about the whole thing. You thought your parents were too focused on Draco to even think about you and your classes this year. Hell, they’ve been too focused on him to even acknowledge your existence during the summer so why did they care about your classes.
“I truly do apologize, Professor McGonagall.” You look down at your shoes, too nervous to look her in her eyes. “I didn’t realize my father was doing that… nor would he interfere with my schooling. I just…” You let out a long sigh. “I just thought the class would be interesting and a bit different, is all, compared to what I’ve learned about muggles at home.”
The woman’s face immediately softens. She knew that getting sorted into Hufflepuff was going to be an issue from the moment the hat shouted it. You were clearly unhappy and confused, mumbling curse words at the hat as you made your way to the Hufflepuff table. The Malfoys have been Slytherins since she was in her own school days so when she heard the hat say something otherwise, she knew something would come out of it.
Your father had insisted it was a mistake in every letter he sent to Dumbledore talking about how the hat was a fake and it must've been a ploy against the Malfoy name. But Dumbledore was just as persistent with backing the hat and it’s house assigning criteria.
“It is out of my control, Miss Malfoy.” McGonagall puts a comforting hand on your shoulder. “As an underage wizard, you do not have a say in the matter. We must listen to your guardians.”
“I understand, Professor.”
=====
The scent of musty floral perfume hits you like bricks as you walk into the room. Following McGonagall between the risers, you hold your books tighter to your chest. You look around once you get into the “stage” area of the classroom. The curtains are drawn, giving the room a somber vibe. The different levels hold a bit too many tables for the number of students actually attending the class. Taking a glance at the students, some are either sleeping or staring at you, glad for the interruption.
“Professor Trelawney,” McGonagall interrupts the short woman gazing into a crystal ball. Her large eyes immediately snap to the two of you. “I have a transfer from Muggle Studies.”
The eccentric witch gets up and looks over to you, the whole classes’ eyes follow her. “Ahhh,” She sighs, pointing a finger. “I knew you would end up here, (Y/N) Malfoy.” She gives a knowing smile, Professor McGonagall just rolls her eyes while she continues to go on about what she saw in the ball about a visitor here to stay.
“Well, I have other things to attend to regarding my Quidditch team if you would kindly show Miss Malfoy to her seat,” McGonagall commands with a firm nod.
“Of course, of course!” She excitedly affirms, putting a hand to your back and guiding you towards the front of the strange classroom. You give the Charms Professor pleading eyes as she leaves the room but she just ignores you and continues on her way.
“Now,” She turns you both to the whole class. “Who would like to do the honor of having Miss Malfoy as a partner? I sense she will be a great help in this class,” She asks, everyone sits in silence. There are a few students without partners but they’d rather be alone than be with you.
“Well, a little unpopular we are, I see,” Trelawney mumbles to no one in particular, you immediately look down at your feet. “How ‘bout you find your own seat, love?”
You go straight to the back and take the first seat in the row, not daring to look at anyone on the way up.
“Oh, what type of wicked witch did I cross to get a curse like this?” The familiar disgust of one of the Weasley boys hits your ears. Your head snaps to him, trying to quickly identify which twin you would be spending the year with.
“Hush it, George.” You sneer, not in the mood for his shit. “Or are you Fred?” You squint, the dim candlelight not helping distinguish which. “No, Fred is much more clever with his insults.”
George just rolls his eyes at you, “He might have the brains but I’ve got the looks.” He leans back in his chair, putting his arms behind his head and his feet on the table. “Don’t you agree, Malfie?” He eggs, a smirk on his face.
You let out a scoff. “You both look like gnomes stacked on each other under a robe… Especially with that carrot top of a head of yours.” You push his feet off the table, setting your books where they were. The shove sends his balance off and he falls back onto the floor.
“Well, you were right about Fred having the brains, huh?” You stare down at him. The redhead sticks his tongue out at you like a five-year-old. “This is going to be a long year.” You mumble under your breath.

Here's some more background on my other Serpentine side OCs, Jack, Elizabeth, and Elijah.
Jack
This creative, modernist red Vermillion is an unusual specimen compared to the rest of his brethern. For a start, Jack - 27 years old and 6 foot 6 inches tall - isn't made up of little snakes like the others, but rather looks to be a Serpentine (though he can turn into a singular snake at will); he also has a hood similar to the Great Devourer's. Combined with the fact that he didn't have the Devourer's appetite to consume everything, as well as having a free will (aka not part of the Vermillion hivemind), he was mocked for not being like the others. All of this abuse leads him to abandoning the Vermillion at the age of 18, though it seemed like they really didn't care about his departure; ironically, his egg was the first one that Acronix and Krux got hold of, several years before the Serpentine were released, which means he's the first one to hatch (and that he's technically the oldest Vermillion). After wondering for some time, he comes across a town, populated by humans and Serpentine. Puzzled, he ventures further inside, where his strange appearance catches the attention of many passers-by. Eventually, he reaches a house, which seems older than the rest of the town, and just as he was about to move on, the door opens, revealing a human in a cassock; they invite the Vermillion into their house.
The human reveals themself to be Bennett Grant, before telling the Vermillion that he could stay at his place while they can find a place in New Hope for the snake to live. During his stay at Grant's place, Jack learns of Bennett's past, as well as the town's come to being, and the two become friends; more than that, Grant proposes that when the Devourer had her first clutch of Vermillion eggs, some of the last remnants of her untainted purity were put into his egg, possible explaining both his appearance and free will. After some time, a house is built for the Vermillion, and he departs for his new home, though occasionally he comes to visit them. Now, he's become a blacksmith that excels in metallurgy, though lately he's been getting into gunsmithing. (He also wields a bastard sword.)
Elizabeth
[Art by Serpentfever]
Before her death, this smart yet resilient female Pyro Viper - 84 years old and 7 foot 8 inches tall - was the commander of the royal guard for Mambo V and his family, wielding a khopesh. The Pyro Vipers under her command were a formidable force, one that many didn't wish to provoke. That all changed when Aspheera overthrew the king; despite being a magic user herself, Elizabeth couldn't compete with Aspheera and her use of both Spinjutzu and magic. She and the royal family were imprisoned during Aspheera's short reign, which ended with Wu and Garmadon restoring Mambo V back to the throne, while Aspheera was imprisoned in her specialized prison cell. Unfortunately, Aspheera's actions had left their mark, as it proved that anyone popular with the people could overthrow their unpopular king. Over the coming years, Elizabeth watched as the kingdom slowly deteriorated and declined due to the constant revolts and attempted coups. Though she died before she saw it, she knew that the Pyro Vipers would soon die out due to the constant instability that led to unnecessary bloodshed.
When Aspheera revived the Pyro Vipers, Elizabeth originally wanted to go up to the true Deceiver and strangle her, but stopped herself, knowing that most of the newly resurrected Serpentine would blindly follow the traitor. As she tried to find others that would join her, she stumbles upon her old royal guard detail, who also hate Aspheera. After some conversing, they all decide that they can't take on the rest of Aspheera's followers, and begrudgingly leave for better pastures. After several days of slithering throughout Ninjago, they come across a small town, where their sudden appearance has bewildered its residents. Searching for the town leader results in this group of Pyro Vipers coming across a strange red Serpentine and an Oni dressed in a cassock. Upon seeing the Oni, Elizabeth conjures up a fireball and throws it at them, only for them to use magic to block the attack; the two sides then calm down, and the two individuals introduce themselves. Grant then puts in an order for specialized housing that the Pyro Vipers can live in, since there's a possibility that they would accidentally start a fire in a traditional house. For the meantime, Elizabeth's group camp outside New Hope until their specialized accommodations are completed. Until then, Elizabeth waits patiently, not just for their homes to be completed, but to also exact her revenge on Aspheera for the actions she's done.
Elijah
Before the death of Trimaar at the hands of Kalmaar, this shrewd, sociable Maraay - equipped with a trident with Wojira engravings - was like the rest of the guards, except that he has azure markings and eyes instead of the usual cyan eyes and markings (which also include his teeth and neck scales); he also didn't hate the surface dwellers, having a neutral view of them; and is 41 years old and 6 foot 7 inches tall. He's the leader of a small unit that consists of 20-25 guards, all of whom he has befriended. Before Kalmaar's usurpation, Eli was involved in an horrific accident: He was in the presence of another Maraay guard, who's trident was malfunctioning, when it suddenly fired an electrical bolt that hit Elijah on the left side of his face, rendering him unconscious. When he came to, he finds that he can only see from his right eye, which detects a concerned Glutinous; the scientist says that he's lucky to be alive, considering that the electrical charge should have killed him. Though he survived, it did cost him his left eye - which has a star-shaped cataract - as well as leaving a Lichtenburg figure (aka an electrical scar) on the left side of his face.
Now back on duty, the Maraay gets back commanding his guard unit. One day, his unit was rotated to guard the entrance to the throne room, when he sees Kalmaar and Gripe go in, and out of curiosity (as well as his suspicions about Kalmaar), slightly opens the door to the room and peeks inside. From here, he sees Kalmaar murder Trimaar and several royal guards, all the while Gripe watches on; suddenly, Gripe turns to see him peering in, and Eli commands his troops to immediately leave their posts and follow him. Seeing his confused comrades, he tells them that Kalmaar has killed Trimaar, while his servant Gripe watched. Furthermore, he states that Kalmaar will probably usurp the Merlopain throne and attack the surface dwellers via reawakening Wojira. His men are shocked to learn of Kalmaar's betrayal, even more so by a unit of Maraay guards approaching to arrest the "so-called traitors" for aiding in Trimaar's death, confirming Eli's story. After defeating the Kalmaar loyalists, the group decides - after some bickering - to leave Merlopia and go to Ninjago.
Eventually, Eli's unit reach the shores of Ninjago. Exhausted, they move inland before settling down for the night, though the next morning they move once more. After a few days, they have made it to Ninjago City, only for sirens to go off and signal to seek higher ground. Thinking quickly, they decide to into the NGTV building to seek shelter. After scaling several levels, they are safe from the ensuing flood and Wojira's wrath. As they watch in awe and horror, a human citizen spots them, and several of them ready to fight, the most notable being a human in cossack. Eli orders his men to stand down, while he explains their situation to the humans. They all eventually calm down, before preceeding to look back at the window to see Wojira and Kalmaar continue their wrath; as they do, Elijah realizes that Wojira looks like she's in pain, and sees that the human next to him - Bennett - had the same thought. Before they can communicate this, Nya - now merged with the sea - kills Wojira. After the flood recedes, Bennett asks him and his men whether they would like to join him and live in a town called New Hope, to which they all agree to. At first, the citizens of the town are wary of the Maraays (which they expected), but eventually warm up to them. Though he now likes to go fishing, there is still one thing on his mind: Make Gripe pay for his treachery by working for that tyrant Kalmaar.

A Jily wedding | Wolfstar
Summary: Slices of life leading up to Jily’s wedding
Pairing: Sirius Black x Remus Lupin / James Potter x Lily Evans
Word count: 2589
-
James, Sirius and Peter sat at a table at the Leaky Cauldron, drinking beers and celebrating James' last days as an unmarried man.
''I can't believe you're getting married. Married!''
James rolled his eyes and finished the last of his beer. ''Shut up, Pads.''
''I mean, who would've thought you'd end up marrying Evans. All those years of trying and failing to get her on a date finally gave something.''
On the other side of the table, Peter snickered, remembering how desperate James had always been for her during their years at Hogwarts. Someone will without a fail mention it during their speech at the wedding. There were so many good stories about James Potter's grand flirting techniques - and failures -, it would be a shame to not share some with their guests.
''Moony, where are our beers?'' James called out to him.
''Coming!'' he replied from the bar, only now receiving the tall glasses. ''You're getting the next round,'' he told Peter when he sat down.
Sirius wrapped an arm around his shoulders and toasted to James - again.
''I don't get it. How can you be so calm about this? You're getting fucking married in twelve days, Prongs!''
The closer they were to their wedding day, the less nervous James was - unlike Lily who was a nervous wreck, planning everything with his mother. Sometimes, she'd ask his opinion on things like cake toppers or flowers, but James always told her the same thing: I don't care, do what you please. To some, it could pass like he was behaving like an ass, but he truly didn't care whether there were white or blue or yellow flowers on the table-centers. To him, all that mattered was that his beautiful fiancé would become his wife at the end of the ceremony. That Lily Evans would become Lily Potter. The rest...was just confetti.
.
''Is Petunia coming?''
Remus Lupin knew nothing about weddings, but, unlike the other marauders, he was helpful. He had come to the Potters' to help Lily with some last minute preparations like the final seating chart and making sure everything was in order for next week - and she couldn't be more thankful.
Lily looked down. ''No. She...she isn't,'' she replied, feeling her eyes welled with tears.
Remus pursed his lips into a thin line, now regretting asking. ''I'm sorry.''
''She made her choice a long time ago. I don't know why I ever thought for a second that she'd send a positive RSVP...''
''She's your sister. You're allowed to be upset.''
''I thought she could make an exception for one day, for my big day, and put her hatred against the wizarding world aside, but I guess not.''
Family was a difficult subject for Lily Evans. Mainly her relationship with her sister, Petunia. They used to be very close, but her witch abilities put a strain between and their relationship had kept deteriorating until they became completely distant.
Two years ago, Lily - alongside James - had attended Petunia and Vernon's wedding. Although they hadn't talked the whole night, Lily saw this as a step into rekindling their relationship, but Petunia had proven wrong when she didn't return the favor and checked the RSVP as 'no' for Lily's wedding.
''My parents cannot make it to my wedding either. It's so sad to think that on my big day I won't have any family there to see me walk down the aisle. I don't even have someone to give me away to James-'' She pushed her face in her hands, more upset than she let on.
Remus' heart broke at the sight of a crying Lily, five days before her wedding. She didn't deserve this. She deserved a beautiful wedding with all of her loved ones in the attendance. A wedding filled with love and happiness.
He squeezed her forearm. ''You have me. I can be your family for one day.''
At Hogwarts, she and Remus had become best friends - much to James' jealousy. Their friendship wasn't to the marauders' level, but they were very close - thanks to being both prefects, and studying and potion partners.
If James were there, he'd add that they were both bookworms too.
Lily raised her head, the couple tears she had let slip now visible. ''You'd do that?''
Remus nodded. Yeah, he'd do that.
.
This morning, a letter had arrived from Madam Malkin announcing that their robes were finished being crafted and that the boys could come in and try them on in the afternoon.
The accent color of the wedding was a rich purple-y red color which somehow suited everyone. When Madam Malkin revealed the robes to the marauders, they were pleasantly surprised and excited to try them on.
Everyone's robes were different while being cohesive, just like their personalities. The base of the outfit was simple: white shirt and black trousers - except for Peter who was the ring bearer. James, as the groom, had a cloak, a vest - matching with his best man - and a bow tie. Instead of a bow tie, Sirius and Remus had matching ties. Remus also had suspenders instead of a vest because Lily prefered that for him - and, according to Sirius, he looked fine.
''How do I look?'' James asked, standing in front of the floor length mirror and perfecting the cloak over his shoulders.
''It looks nice. But, won't you get hot in this?'' Peter replied, slouched in one of the chairs, munching on some snacks and leaving crumbs on his nice dress shirt.
''Probably. I'm only wearing the cloak for the ceremony, though. Padfoot? Moony, what do you thi-'' James turned around and groaned, seeing the two kissing in the corner. ''Bloody hell, can you two not suck faces for ten minutes?''
At James' voice, Remus pulled away and looked down, sheepish. ''Sorry.'' His lips were slightly red and a piece of his hair was sticking up at the back.
Sirius, on the other hand, was unbothered and still staring at Remus as if he was some bone to munch on. ''If Evans hadn't put Moony in bloody suspenders and fit trousers, it wouldn't be an issue,'' he defended, taking a seat beside Peter. ''Have you seen his ass-''
''I don't want to hear it!'' James interrupted before Sirius could finish, raising his hands to cover his ears like a child.
Madam Malkin appeared in the fitting area. ''Everything alright here? I heard screaming.''
''All good, Madam Malkin,'' Remus replied politely with a small smile, hoping she hadn't noticed his burning cheeks.
Sirius looked smug and Peter was snickering in his seat, amused by the situation.
''If one of you tears or stain anything before the wedding, you'll be paying for the repairs,'' James warned them - Peter included.
.
One week before the wedding, James did the unthinkable and walked in on Lily trying on her dress. It wasn't intentional - he didn't even know she was home -, but Mrs. Potter had shooed him out of the room quickly, screaming that it was bad luck to see the bride in her dress before the wedding.
''I didn't even see the dress!'' he promised from the other side of the door. ''But, just so you know, I'd still marry you if you were wearing a pillow case.''
Lily had laughed. She was going to marry that idiot. ''And you better have a dress robes when I see you at the altar, Potter.''
.
''So...who's next?''
''Next what?'' Remus asked, confused.
''Who's the next marauder to tie the knot?''
''Well, Peter. But I suggest you take a seat because that's not happening for a long time. Have you seen him flirt with Dorcas? He can't even pick up that she isn't interested in boys!''
They both bursted laughing.
''It must be you, then.''
Remus choked on his tea, almost spittering it all on himself. ''You know Sirius and I can't get married, Evans.''
''Not now, obviously.''
''Even if we could, marriage isn't Sirius and I's deal. We love each other very much, but have no intention on getting married - ever.''
Although it could sound nice to call Sirius his husband, Sirius' view on marriage had been heavily tainted because of his family and blood purity obsession. In the Noble House of Black, you didn't marry out of love, but to keep the bloodline pure. Toujour pur.
A few years ago, his parents had even tried to force him into marrying his cousin, Narcissa. Sirius had found it morally disgusting and was very thankful when Narcissa married Lucius Malfoy.
''He might changed his mind for you.''
.
''How was your afternoon with Lily? Has she gone all bridezilla yet?'' Sirius asked when he heard the door of his and Remus' shared flat open and close.
Remus chuckled as he removed his boots. ''Surprisingly, no. She'd have all the reasons to, though. She received some last minute RSVPs and has nowhere to place them on the seating chart, the florists got the wrong colors for the arrangements and the Ceremony Official mixed up his dates and Lily and James' date isn't available anymore,'' he explained. ''If I were her, I'd be crying on the floor - but don't tell her that.''
Sirius laughed and went around the counter to greet Remus properly, abandoning the sandwich he was making himself. ''Your secret's safe with me, love.'' He kissed Remus who scrunched his nose, smelling a mix of exhaust and leather on his boyfriend.
''You've taken out the motorcycle?''
''Yeah. I went on a ride with Prongs. We came up with a genius idea to drive him to the altar on my motorcycle, but there's very small chances Lily will let us.''
''With reason.''
Much like Remus, Lily wasn't a fan of that motorcycle. Motorcycles itself were dangerous and had a high risk of fatalities, but Sirius' was huge and fast and could fly, which made it ten times more dangerous. Plus, James and Sirius were very reckless on that motorcycle and had once been chased by muggle authorities.
.
The ceremony went on smoothly - if you don't count Peter almost dropping the rings. James had shed a few tears when he saw Lily in her white dress and Lily didn't forget her vows, which she had been nervous about. Her memory wasn't the best under stress.
After saying 'I do', everyone had moved to the magically enlarged ball room for the reception. As expected, the place was beautiful. Rich purple-y red and white flower arrangements, chic drapes, floating lights and a massive cake.
Like expected, Sirius had filled his best man speech with embarrassing anecdotes of the couple - mainly on James' end. He did tease a bit Lily too - otherwise it wouldn't have been fair -, but he was harder on James, as expected. The guests had laughed and James was embarrassed, which was all Sirius wanted.
''You just wait for payback on your wedding day, Padfoot,'' James threatened as they shared a shoulder hug.
.
Lily might not have gone all bridezilla on her wedding planning, but she insisted on handing her guests a list of rules for the night. There weren't too many and they were simple and basic. No pranks. No gorging yourselves at the buffet table. No exhibitionism. No drunken speeches. No getting so wasted you can't walk. No white for the women attending.
Some were specifically hinted toward one or more people, but she figured that all their guests could use those rules.
Lily had joined Remus at a table as the guests danced to rest her sore feet. She had charmed her shoes before putting them on so they wouldn't hurt her feet from wearing them all night, but the charm must've worn out by now.
''Mrs. Potter,'' Remus greeted, nodding his head.
The redhead chuckled and took a sip of her champagne. ''That's me.''
''You look beautiful, Lily. Radiant.''
''I can't believe I'm married, Remus. Married! This is insane.'' She smiled and took another sip.
A few feet from them, Sirius' shirt was halfway unbuttoned and his tie was undone as he danced with James, a drink in his left hand. His hair was pulled into a messy half-up, too hot to let them down fully, and Remus watched with discouragement and endearment. They looked ridiculous.
''Seeing this makes me regret what I just willingly signed up for.''
Remus laughed. ''Worry not, we're in this together.''
''They look like idiots.''
They laughed and James held on to Sirius who's drink tilted and almost made a mess. Sirius brought it up to his lips and kept on dancing with his best friend.
''You think Sirius will make it till the end of the night? How many drinks has he had?''
At this moment, Sirius tripped on his own foot, making him vacillate and almost falling. More than he should've.
''I'll handle him,'' Remus assured.
.
When Remus decided it was enough, he pried Sirius from the room and led him to one of the couches in a secluded part of the ball room to - hopefully - sober up before going home.
Lily had offered them a sobering potion, but Remus had declined it, knowing Sirius would be annoyed and want to drink more after - which he really shouldn't if he doesn't want to get alcohol poisoning. It wasn't his first time dealing with a drunk Sirius - and he didn't really mind. He was easy enough to manage.
Sirius' head rested against the high armrest of the couch, sprawled like his bones had been replaced with jelly. Drunk and dazed, he reached out for his boyfriend and dragged him down with him, making Remus squeal in surprise.
Sirius took hold of his hand and brought it to his face and leaned into it as Remus sat on his lap.
''Where's your tie?'' Remus asked, not seeing the silky strip around his neck.
Sirius looked down and shrugged, only now noticing that it was in fact not there anymore. He shrugged, not caring much about the lost tie. It's not like he had planned to wear it again.
''You're very drunk.''
''And you're very pretty.'' Sirius wrapped his arms around Remus' neck and started kissing his jaw lovingly and drunkenly. ''I love you, Moony.''
In his last stage of drunkenness, Sirius Black was a needy and affectionate drunk - before blacking out, that is. Once he was past the goofing with James stage, he was the neediest person, wanting nothing else than to hug, cuddle and kiss everybody he knew - especially Remus.
He'd look around the room, searching for Remus just so he could wrap his arms around him and kiss his face and flirt with him. To love and be loved in return. It was all a drunk Sirius wanted - needed.
Remus tried to resist Sirius' kissing and pulled away, insisting on keeping his promise to Lily and following her wedding rules. He looked down at the raven haired wizard, seeing clearly how much of a mess he looked with pieces of hair were falling into his heavy eyes, a soft smile across his lips and the smooth skin of his chest on display from his half buttoned shirt.
''Shall we go home?'' Remus took a piece of Sirius' hair and twirled it around his fingers.
Sirius shook his head in protest, feeling the effects of alcohol dissipate a little. ''Wanna stay a little more,'' he said...only to change his mind less than a minute later, which made Remus laugh.
''Let's go say goodbye to the newlyweds, first.'' Remus helped him get up from the couch and walked back to the party area.

okay so i did a breakdown and prediction for WandaVision before the show started and It's Turning Out To Be True, Guys, so I'm posting it below and just tell me if it's okayish or not-
Now, WandaVision marks the beginning of Phase 4 of the MCU, and it is in itself a pathmaking event because it shows normal life without the original Avengers. Now, the show explores Wanda's mental state after Vision's death in Infinity War, and how she uses her Chaos magic to create a 'pocket reality' where things are just what she wants them to be.
The entire series is set over 6 decades, and has a running theme of couples living in sit-coms throughout the years, the late 50s, the 60s, the 70s, the 80s, the 90s, the 2000s and present. Now, my theory is that WandaVision is the beginning of a Multiverse Act that continues in Spiderman - 3 and culminates in Doctor Strange in The Multiverse of Madness.
Now, as for the shots within the trailer, it seems that Wanda and Vision are changing their localities as time passes, and that is through the decades I mentioned above. Now, all the posters have this unique red-blue television static rip in the upper left corner, which is also the transition effect used by the editors whenever Wanda warps reality and tries to adapt to the passing, and this actually represents Wanda's warped reality fading away and opening up a multiverse. In the late 50s poster, there isn't much that suggests anything, just we know that this involves the b/w part of the show where Wanda and Vision are a newly married couple and Vision as a human, which is strange, because in all trailers/posters after that time, Vision is shown as the Android he is, from the 60s black and white where Wanda acts as Vision's assistant in the magic show, and now, the next transition is the most interesting for me because they shift into the era of coloured television and during this warp, Wanda becomes pregnant and slips into the stripes of the 70s - another fact is that the upper left rip is not normal, not it is a wood panel torn apart, like by a demon, which leads me to the obvious villainous entity for the show, Mephisto.
This marks Wanda's descent into confusion as to who is in control of this warped reality, because it may not be Wanda, it may be some evil entity who is using Wanda to get into MCU's Earth-199999 and is proved later when Jimmy Woo's voice is heard out of the radio saying "who is doing this to you?". Now, the 80s poster has a ton of references in the 2 paintings it has, one being a hybrid phoenix chicken, aka representing Vision, who here is both a hybrid between human and metal, and like a Phoenix brought to life by Wanda's magic from the ash he was left in by Thanos, and the second bird is a wren from Australia with varying plumage which is like Wanda, because her magic clashes with life in the same way. The next 90s poster is the most indicative too as this is the time where they have the twins, Wiccan and Speed, but interestingly, there's a picture on their wall with three, yes, three not two eggs, which is another reference to the fact that snarky Mephisto has snuck up into this reality using Wanda's magic, also the TV still here is of them in their original Avengers' goofy hallowe'en costumes, and the last shot is a trailer and poster mix where Wanda races out into their frontyard but there are 2 small bikes parked, meaning that is the 2000s where they live as a family of four, but what Wanda doesn't realise that Mephisto's using this fake family to claw his way into this reality and wreak havoc.
Some other shots that stood out to me were of Monica Rambeau constantly transitioning from friendly neighbour to outright "I don't know who (I am)", then the character of Agnes who I suspect is none other than Agatha Harkness from the West Coast Avengers comics where Mephisto, yet again, played with Wanda's chaotic magic and in a way it also merges with the House of X comic series where Wanda yet again creates a pocket reality (I mean, what is up with all the reality stuff) - another interesting thing is the beekeeper seen in the second trailer, which I propose is a reference to the way in which we make honey commercially, wherein the queen bee is kept incharge of a beehive with her subordinates, and she thinks that she is in charge, but the actual person benefiting from this is the beekeeper looking from above the hive, collecting the honey, just like it is here where Wanda thinks she is the queen but in reality it is Mephisto the Beekeeper looking from above the pocket reality using Wanda's brand of Chaos magic to enter into this reality.Â
I believe that the base of this entire series by which it will continue into the wider MCUÂ is The Mind Stone, because it was The Stone that gave Wanda her powers and also to the two men she loved the most - Vision and her brother Pietro. Now, there is an amazing amount of screen time given to shots of the Mind Stone in the trailer, the most intriguing of which is a tired Wanda with greyish hair looking up at the Stone with slivers of blue around it - this is the incident where Wanda received her Enhanced powers from Stucker is Sokovia and this indicates that there will be some flashbacks to earlier memories which may involve Quicksilver returning. Now, the Mind Stone is the smart one, so it has a certain intelligence which it imparts to those affected by it, as is evident in Wanda's Chaos magic and tele-abilities, Tony Stark's vision of the Earth ravaged and the Avengers dead, and maybe even Thanos's curse of Titan's fate. Now, for sure, the mind stone has been destroyed but this does not mean it hasn't already affected given the Universe changes.
Now, back in 2015, Marvel wasn't allowed to use the term "mutants" but now with the Disney-Fox merger, yes they can introduce the idea of mutants with Wanda and Quicksilver as the first in Sokovia, and then Wanda's Chaos-Mephisto born mutant kids Wiccan and Speed which of course may tie to the New Mutants storyline. Also, my theory is that mutants are made by a combination of both their mutant gene and exposure to cosmic radiation, just like Wanda was exposed to the Mind Stone. Also, the mutant gene may exist in specific closeted spaces of the earth like Sokovia, or just for the sake of an example, in Chernobyl cause well the incident. Now these mutant genes become activated on exposure to radiation, and well we have had Four Omega Level Cosmic Infinity Snaps by Thanos, Thanos, Hulk and IronMan, and there is plenty of reason to suggest that this may have triggered the mutant abilities. That is my first theory.
The second one involves Wanda unleashing her chaos magic in an exponential wave at the end just like she did in Age Of Ultron, maybe because she realises that in reality, Vision is dead and manipulation won't help, and in grief she lets out her power that rips upon the Marvel Earth 199999 to the Multiverse which will continue later for Doctor Strange and SpiderMan to put back to normal. This mega event was teased in the trailers where the S.W.O.R.D. helicopter escapes from a wall of red television like static energy, and yes, I expect S.W.O.R.D. to be fully involved in the last part of the show headed by Jimmy Woo and Darcy cause Darcy has had encounters with otherworldly beings and thus may be consulted here. The last act will culminate in Wanda and Vision rising back up to their original title of the Avengers and fighting Mephisto to stop him, but something turns and thus Wanda/Mephisto releases that wall of Magic to wreak havoc.
Also a side note - Vision will also play the act of a realist in the show where he makes Wanda realise that this is not the real earth and he realises that the Eastside/Westside area they live in as well as the people there are unusual, not real, but at the end comes to his usual humane proposition that they save them and the reality from the demon trying to wreak havoc.
TL;DR Wanda creates a pocket reality where she lives with Vision, maybe reincarnating him using her brand of magic in the grey android left after Infinity War, and as the decades pass by, their reality deteriorates due to the Satanic entity that is Mephisto, making his curses seem like blessings, but at the end Wanda and Vision try and stop this reality shredding with S.W.O.R.D and that leaves us with an indecisive future of the mutants, Vision's reincarnation(like said by Banner in Infinity War)/Vision's death and the coming of the Multiverse into focus.
That's it, I guess.
Sorry a bit long ik but i do this.
Enjoy?
Thanks for reading...

tw for abuse, incest and consent issues.
I’m not sure if I’d call this a wide-spread misconception, mainly because it’s not something that Comes Up in casual conversation about the series, but on and off I’ve noticed that people have a specific Attitude about gallerian when it comes to the situation with mira and ma where they view him more in the vein of kaspar. mind you it’s understandable when a big part of the fandom gets their information second/third/etc-hand, but it’s just Very Unfortunate when you lay it out in the context of the novels
so ! the short answer is that ma isn’t a seductress, she’s an abuser. she gave birth to gallerian specifically to use him, and if levia had accepted his body as a vessel he Would have been left to die like nemesis had been. the reason he’d been spared was undoubtedly so he could be used to Create nemesis down the line. I’ve written that in a way that’s easier to swallow, but I need you, the viewer, to understand that ma looked at her baby boy and only kept him alive so that she could fuck him in about 20 years.
there’s more about the situation that’s worth bringing up, but that’s the biggest sticking point for me. gallerian was victimized by ma whether he personally realized it or not, in more ways than one, and I really don’t like how that’s swept under the rug in this specific instance because of common tropes and expectations.
now ! this doesn’t mean that I don’t think that gallerian has any responsibility in this situation at all, cheating on your wife is still Bad, but the situation as a whole was Messy to say the least.
gallerian and mira bonded in the wake of being abused by the same person. mira after facing loki’s controlling aggressive behavior for a long period of time and gallerian after literally facing a traumatizing hate crime. michelle was born when gallerian was 18 meaning he was almost certainly 17 when she was conceived (and mira 18 or 19). they were teenagers who trauma-bonded and accidentally tied themselves to each other for the rest of their lives. they weren’t compatible romantically but they didn’t exactly have a choice.
to put this in perspective, we have to remember that gallerian is half fantasy japanese in what is analogous to 1920′s america, that his direct familial line (his mother) was tried and executed for magic (a genetic trait in evillious), and that gallerian’s entire goal in life had been to uproot the system that was discriminatory against him. the novel goes out of it’s way to show us that the first case where he’d found someone innocent in a witch trial the people in the stands had to be held back by the guards.
he was a minority trying to take one of the most important positions in the country to push an unpopular (if moral) agenda. yes it would’ve been better for the both of them individually if they’d gotten a divorce or if they’d never gotten married in the first place, but in the position that he was in the time period that he was doing so would’ve been risking his career (which in turn would’ve risked the lives of the people who were facing Active Genocide). And mira likely wouldn’t have been much better off.
now those are the general, rancid, vibes, but lets talk about the lead up into the Inciting event.
so, ma abandons gallerian and then comes back into his life while he’s a teenager. she fakes her own death and doesn’t change her appearance At All (beyond hair color) when she meets him again. he doesn’t know that she’s his mother but she’s obviously playing into his trauma while she does this. she aligns herself with the people that saved him and lends a hand to help put loki in jail and out his family as being literal slaveowners.
after making a positive impression, putting herself in a savior position during an extremely traumatic part of gallerian’s life, she helps to put him in a more powerful position politically. in his mind she’s a friend helping him achieve his dreams, in hers she knows he’ll be useful to her in a stronger position.
she watches as gallerian and mira’s relationship deteriorates, their personalities clashing (and gallerian’s poorer background making him more frugal than mira, who grew up wealthy, would like to be). his 20th birthday rolls around and she invites him to eat, she orders him wine and tells him that it’s a present. he’s shocked, he admits that mira had totally forgotten, he opens up about how unhappy he is but that he’s trying to keep the relationship together for his daughter’s sake. she gets him so drunk he can’t even stand on his own.
can I blame gallerian for that first night? no, absolutely not. he wasn’t Lusting after anyone, ma deliberately played on his loneliness and unhappiness to get him drunk enough that he’d agree to it. while he may have continued the relationship after the fact, he Was Not in a position to consent. he has some responsibility yes, but he was groomed by his own mother who’d stayed in his life specifically so she could manipulate him and she chose to do it while he was young enough to see her as an authority figure. I can’t blame him for that. gallerian wasn’t in a position where he would’ve been able to say no, point blank, and I don’t want to think about what would’ve happened to him if he’d tried.
what’s also telling is how bruno responded. he very famously let gallerian get away with a Lot, but he stepped in with ma. he picked up on the fact that she was his mother and specifically confronted her about it, telling her to leave. he saw ma as an aggressor taking advantage of gallerian and frankly he was right.
we never hear about gallerian cheating ever again, but we do see ma coming back into his life to continue manipulating and using him all the way up until his death. I can totally respect people who can’t forgive someone for cheating, but I can’t see gallerian as a cheater or as the ultimately guilty party.

Merlin mini-rant
I really like the show but one of the things that doesn’t sit quite as well with me is the handling of who started as possibly my second-favorite character, Morgana.
I like heroine Morgana. She’s sassy and spunky and sweet, has a little more humility (and possibly humanity, at least at first) than Arthur, so they balance each other out at the start. Despite the fact that (and I’m still not really sure why they do this, because it doesn’t last long) the narrative seems to ship them at first, they have a really sweet, genuine sibling relationship that helps build the foundation of their friend group/found family. Morgana is physically strong and agile without the narrative making her sacrifice her femininity to be so (as is too often seen). She’s also very smart and talented in ways that others aren’t; while several characters are off winning physical battles afar, she’s at home winning battles with words. There are many episodes in Season One where the story would not have ended as well as they did if she hadn’t said what she did, to whom she did. She knows the ins and outs of the palace, she knows who’s who, and she knows what everyone’s priorities are, so she can almost always find the right thing to say to make them see sense, and often come to realizations that help them grow as people. She has a deep, innate empathy to those around her regardless of rank, while still recognizing ranks enough to utilize her power appropriately (and sometimes just be a little priss--she’s young, y’know). She’s incredibly gay with Gwen and I love it.
I also like villain Morgana. Her journey from the above-described heroine to the ruthless villain we see by the end of the series is well-thought-out, and the slow deterioration of her morality based on the events she goes through is both heartbreaking and makes me want to bang my head into the wall. She continues to be incredibly powerful, still using her wit and words as weapons, as well as becoming an alarmingly great sorceress. Her degeneration from the stately figure we see early on to the deranged witch by the end of the action is meticulous. And the fact that she’s still very attached to Gwen even after all these developments, and even when Gwen makes the choice to stay in Camelot, is an interesting touch that adds a depth to her that isn’t always seen with villains.
But I gotta say I love heroine Morgana more, and not really just for emotional reasons.
I’m not mad that the main villain of the series ends up being a woman, because the idea that women can’t be villains is just ridiculous to me. And, as said before, her arc is very well-written imo, so it doesn’t seem like a cop-out, like “we just wanted a girl villain bc girls are bad.”
I am a little mad that when the main villain turns out to be a woman, it leaves only one woman in the principle cast of heroes. Not that Gwen can’t totally hold her own, but it would have been nice to have her dynamic feminine duo with Morgana (and their ridiculous gayness) for the rest of the series, rather than leaving the majority of the action up to the men. Plus, I think keeping Morgana around as a hero might have given Gwen more outlets to be involved in the main action as well, since these two are definitely a power couple.
Dramatically speaking I think it might have worked better, too. Again, I like the villain arc Morgana gets--it isn’t rushed and it’s well-thought-out. But I think it would have been even nicer to have them be two different characters. Maybe keep Nimueh around for a few extra seasons, and/or introduce someone else with the same powers Morgana ends up with. Or keep Morgause; she could even still be Morgana’s half-sister, but Morgana refuses to join her, adding another layer to the hero/villain dynamics. Her backstory could be similar, and we could see parts of it along the way as it intertwines with the rest of the plot.
But I would have loved to see Morgana stay in Camelot as one of the lead heroes. Early on she doesn’t seem to have any desire to gain the throne (and I always thought the whole “she’s-actually-Uther’s-biological-daughter” thing was a cop-out anyway), so I can totally see her finding herself in a supportive, advisor-type role to Arthur as he takes on more and more responsibility. Their sibling dynamic would provide a lot of genuine sweetness and sassy banter throughout. She could continue to provide valuable assistance during the adventures, using her words and knowledge and influence to help out, becoming wiser as the years go on and helping Arthur build a strong kingdom.
She could have continued her super-sweet relationship with Gwen, supporting her as she slowly becomes more important in the court, vouching for her despite her rank, and continuing to be incredibly gay.
I think it would have been really cool if she and Merlin connected early on about their magic and confided in each other. I would have loved to see the two of them struggling together as they harness their powers, and bonding over that; and Merlin for once being able to take on a mentor-type role where his contributions are actually acknowledged, as he helps Morgana through the early stages of her revelations. Plus, it would help both of them feel much less alone, which not only saves Morgana from the villain path, but also gives Merlin some of the attention and support that he needs and never effing gets.
I think it would be funny if Arthur’s impression that they’re flirting continued throughout the series as a running gag, especially as they’d be making excuses to spend more time together so they can help each other with their magic. They could even use it to their advantage at times to get him off their backs. (On that note, I can see Morgana concluding the series with no other love interest than Gwen, though it would also be funny if she continually received suitors that were more running gags or funny side-plots to other stories).
I can almost see it like this: instead of refusing to tell Morgana that he also has magic in 2x3 (“The Nightmare Begins”), Merlin actually does tell her, so instead of her going to the Druids and starting that path of conflict, she and Merlin become closer and her goals become more focused and she’s less scared, and that prevents her from going down the path of darkness.
As Morgana works to understand and control her powers, she could learn about its history and lore and the Old Religion and stuff and be able to help identify sorcery and mythical creatures when they come across them.
And her relationship with Mordred could add yet another layer to the hero/villain dynamic; she could take on a mentoring role for him when he joins the Knights, maybe even helping him out with his magic and trying to get him into her and Merlin’s little “magic circle.” Merlin’s suspicion of Mordred could cause some juicy personal conflict between him and Morgana, and Mordred’s inevitable betrayal would be devastating in a dramatically satisfying way, if that makes sense.
All in all, I do like villain Morgana and her whole villain arc; but I would have liked it even more if she’d stayed in Camelot as one of the heroes, keeping her place in the principle cast of characters and remaining an important part of their friend group/Disaster Bi Club.
anyway....those are my thoughts...idk if anyone on here even knows what I’m talking about lol but I wanted to get it out there; I usually do my TV show rants on Twitter but the character limit for posts prevents long stuff like this.

Important World of Winx arc characters! Bella Tinker (Tinkerbell), Wendy Darling, Jim, Tiger Lily, and “Matt” who is now Peter Pan-Tinker-Darling
So, run down of the wow arc; Wizards of the Black Circle sent Island of Neverland into a weird magical pocket dimension, Wendy pulls Peter out = both suffer memory/magic loss, Neverland starts to fall apart and mutate, Bella Tinker begins pulling in people’s consciousnesses to replenish the magic on Neverland, Jim gains power among the other denizens on the Island wants to take over, Winx eventually come and fix things. See more in my timeline/show changes info post.
Neverland is an island near Tir Nan Og. Both Islands have natural sources that are a little similar, Tir Nan Og is the source of tears and sleep (deals with restorative magic and spells related to sadness, it takes the form of a freshwater spring) and Neverland is source of Dreams (deals with unconscious magic and vaguely nocturnal magic, takes the form of a large tree), and because of this they are considered sister islands. Tir Nan Og is the seat of power on earth because of its history, and Neverland is usually the right hand/second in command position because of its proximity. When the wizards attacked they intended to completely vanish/destroy the island and it’s inhabitants as a show of force but their spell interacted with Bella and the source’s magic creating an unstable pocket dimension. The instability begins to effect individual’s core magic, twisting their magic and pulling it out of them in physical manifestations that usually take the form raised veins and eventually horns. The placement of the horns can have other consequences but its very unpredictable.
Bella Tinker (aka Tinker Bell) tied her magic to the source on Neverland, becoming the Major Fairy of Dreams. Bella should technically be dead at this point. The pocket dimension Neverland is trapped in is sustained by Bella herself, if she wasn’t a Danix fairy she would have been drained a while back. Even with the source supporting her she experiences chronic core fatigue and the mutations on Neverland start to seriously affect her mind. When the horns first started appearing on herself and other inhabitants she began seeking outside magical power in order to help. Unfortunately, the wall between Neverland and the larger dimension was still too think for physical transportation, leading Bella to steal people’s minds/consciousness, trapping them as spirits in Neverland, and using their potential magical power to try and alleviate some of the mutations and heal the source. The Neverlander’s start to take sides as Bella looses more and more of her mental acuity and Jim gains power. also: she does NOT change color schemes after Neverland is restored because black/brunette does NOT equal evil and white/blonde does NOT equal good.
Wendy Darling, Bella Tinker’s wife and Peter’s mother. originally a non-magic user, Wendy pushed her untrained magic into the pocket dimension as it was forming and managed to grab Peter and pull him out. While she escaped being trapped in Neverland, her punch into the pocket dimension still gives her side effects of the mutated magic. She has slowly deteriorating memory/mental acuity, and physical injuries, but its not to the level that she has any horns. Wendy learns some magic on the fly, but has no proper training meaning she forces most spells and they are fairly unstable. Wendy managed to keep most of her mind and magic until Peter woke up from his coma, but after which she started to spiral and eventually became a very paranoid hermit with very little memory of who she was.
James ‘Jim’ Hook, resident of Neverland, lost his hand in an accident on his fishing boat. Begins to take on a more pirate role after Neverland is isolated, seizing the instability as an opportunity to gain power/wealth. Decent magic user, but keeps it hidden as a trump card he can play if necessary. After Bella retreats to the source in the second season Jim begins to aim for total dominion over Neverland and wants the winx to take Bella out but leave Neverland isolated. His horns are primarily harmless, the larger one is actually useful, and the ones starting on his right hand only cause some stiffness in the knuckles but the ones starting on his face are slowly starting to affect his right eye and brain. The mental influences aren’t severe enough yet for him to notice, but his empathy and impulse control are starting to suffer.
Tiger Lily, while not born on the American continent, is the daughter of the first Major Fairy of Dreams, a woman from the the Ojibwe, Ojibwa, Chippewa, or Saulteaux Nation (part of Dana’s OG crew of major fairies). Tiger Lily is a trained Psychic, but due to the situation on Neverland she has lost a lot of her cards, and has kind of morphed into a Druid in order to deal with the volatile environment. The mutation of magic has caused her to lose her vision, which is incredibly important to a Psychic Witch. To cope she started making Spider Web Charms/Dream Catchers (which.... actually have no specific connection to dreams? they’re good luck charms that ward off evil?? I think??? pls correct me if not). She uses these charms as a comfort, and eventually as a way to direct her magic and “see” via scrying with her hands over the webs. She has a ton set up around her home, to both ward off danger and act as security camera. The web and gem on her staff are mainly for offensive magic and directional. She also ties two into her hair to act as personal “eyes” but because scrying is looking into the possible future, what she “sees” isn’t always reality. Tiger Lily is a neutral party on the Island, not aligning herself with Bella or Jim and offers healing and sanctuary to those who come to her unarmed.
Peter Tinker-Darling(taking the place of Matt lmao), the oldest of his brothers, Peter has no memory of Neverland as they fragmented when Wendy pulled him out of the pocket dimension. She stored the fractured memories in Peter’s childhood compass. He was in a coma for decades after being pulled out and awoke in the 1500′s. Peter has no visible physical injuries (small scar on forehead) from being pulled out, but deals with spotty memory, dizzy spells, and massive migraines. Peter thinks Wendy abandoned him (he’s kind of right but Wendy was....... not doing well). Peter has magic, but can’t access it well with out his memories. Peter is less “annoying entitled prick is the chosen one and obnoxious about it” the way OG Matt is, and more “depressed confused art student has no idea whats going on and just wants his family back.”
After Neverland is restored, some of the mutations can be and are healed, but a lot of them are permanent or require routine treatment. The island itself returns to the normal dimension, but the source is corrupted by Jim and turns into a wild magic source to recover, severing it’s connection with Bella(who’s pretty burnt out on magic anyways and is fine with that). Bella and Wendy retire to the english countryside with the rest of their sons and try to deal with all their trauma as best they can :) Peter visits from Paris whenever he can.

(this goregous gif isn’t mine!)
rating: explicit
pairing: inuyasha x kagome
tags: protective inuyasha, jealous inuyasha, emotionally constipated inuyasha, honestly whats new, youkai mates, soulmates, youkai culture, mate bonds, mate rituals, touch-starved inuyasha, shippo is kagome’s son dont talk to me, mirsan as parents, sesshoumaru is still kinda a prick but we like him now, angst and smut and fluff, domestic bliss, srsly this shit is so soft i should be arrested, non-canon compliant with yashahime, shit ton of inukag being cute tbh
summary: 'Kagome smiles through tears of insurmountable joy as a shadow passes over her. She tilts her head back and finds a familiar silhouette bending over the ledge of the well. The figure is still for a moment, as if frozen in utter disbelief, before a clawed hand reaches down to her and with a shuttering exhale, Kagome takes it. Inuyasha hauls her up into the light and suddenly, he's in front of her -- he's real. His silver hair, his ears, his red haori, those eyes of molten gold that stare up at her with nothing less than his very soul bared for her to see. Kagome observes such belonging in him, such love, and it completes her.'
or
my excuse to write some indulgent domestic inukag and explore their happy ending
Chapter 1 - mizpah
The day is grey.
Clouds rumble low and thick over the skyline, swallowing the tops of buildings in the distance and casting deep shadows across the shrine grounds. Kagome is supposed to go out today, a few friends asked her to grab lunch at some new bistro that's opened up near campus. She'd been contemplating how to work the impending downpour into an excuse to stay home, never really having the energy for much these days. Parsing out when to expend the limited energy she did have had become a constant chore since being cut off from --
A familiar pain twangs through her chest, the ache almost welcome. It's all she has left of him.
Maybe it's the rain, maybe its the gloom of the day pulling out the worst of her longing, but regardless she finds herself pushing silently out of her room, walking downstairs, slipping outside, and standing before the closed doors of the Bone Eater's well. Drawn back once again to what was stolen from her. Kagome had promised herself she'd stop doing this, stop torturing herself -- stop giving in to the inexplicable sorrow of living a life without him. But just like the other times, the temptation to let the true weight of her loss pour into the gaping hole in her soul and fill her to the brim, make her so heavy with it that she's brought to her knees, is a poison she's unable to resist. She does this more regularly than she knows is healthy, but its the only way Kagome feels whole anymore. If she's not drowning in loss then she's empty, and Kagome isn't sure which is worse. Without a word she shoulders the doors open and descends the rotting stairs.
The familiar musty smell of earth and something not quite alive but not quite dead hits her. Kagome's eyes water at the memories the scent yields. Before she can stop herself her fingers come up to caress the splintering lip of the ancient well. It feels...empty, same as it always does when she comes in here. The sensation is akin to a sense of hollowness, that the shaft of negative space that runs down the well's center is truly all that's left of the magic that used to come alive for her. A silent sob wrenches down her throat, rendering her vulnerable to the torrent of emotion that swells in her. She let's each gasping breath tear her open, tear out all that's left of her. A sick relief floods her as the sorrow emerges fully and, as always, she crumbles to her knees under the burden of it.
Inuyasha...
Just saying his name, even in the privacy of her own mind, tares something vital out of Kagome's core. She hopes he knows, hopes that despite it all he knows that she is still his in every way a person could be. Disassembled and broken as she is, Kagome offers her anguish to the well praying that if it wouldn't return her to him, then it could at least take her devotion instead.
Carry it to him, remind him he's loved...
For a moment she considers descending the well and curling up at the bottom of it, willing her feelings to reach him, but the thought of her mother finding her like that again...she couldn't bare it. Her mom had been so heartbroken, so overwhelmed with worry when she found Kagome lying at the bottom of the well, cheek pressed to the dirt and eyes seeping tears that wouldn't stop. She wouldn't do that to her again. With that thought Kagome tries to rally herself, to yank her heart away from the addicting agony of missing him and prepares to push her mind into the nothingness she utilizes to numb the pain. She had allowed herself this much and it had to be enough for now, anymore and she'd send herself into a deeply harmful depressive state.
Kagome closes her eyes and uses the well to help heave herself to stand, movements slow and body sore, feeling like her limbs are made of lead. Before she turns to leave, Kagome grips the well as fiercely as she can with both hands. A feeling of intensity overtakes her in that moment and she's unable to think of anything but:
Inuyasha, Kagome declares to the emptiness of the well, I want to see you.
What happens next astounds her. Fate smiles in glee as -- finally -- the threads of time align and pull taught. A gentle breeze smelling of sunshine and wildflowers drifts up to Kagome, it's warm fingers brushing tenderly through the hair that hangs in her face. Kagome's eyes open with an audible gasp. Her heart blossoms because there, lying at the bottom of the well, is a cerulean sky -- a few wispy clouds floating lazily by. The sound of birds singing echoes up to her and suddenly, the Bone Eater's well bursts to life. Kagome is embraced by the energy of the well like an old friend as it resurrects in silent sparkling splendor around her. It soaks into her skin, her soul, filling her with hope instead of sorrow. It's pure life, and it beckons to her with such surety that it breaks Kagome's heart.
"Kagome?"
Her mother's voice forces a sharp exhale out of Kagome, she hadn't realized she'd been holding her breath. Kagome can't look away from the impossible sky below her though, she's frozen in shock and wrestles with the possibility that this isn't a dream. She's had so many that happened just like this. Kagome...Kagome doesn't dare to hope...
"What's wrong?" Mrs. Higurashi asks as she makes her way down the stairs and comes to a stop behind Kagome, concern strangling the usual softness of her tone into an unsure waver.
"Mom," Is all Kagome is capable of saying, and it comes out in a hoarse terrified whisper.
Kagome hears her mother give a small gasp of disbelief, before Mrs. Higurashi steps up close beside her daughter and peers down the well too.
"The sky," Kagome hushes, still unable to fully accept what's happening but slowly becoming afraid that this will all be ripped from her. Again.
A gentle hand wraps around her shoulders and pulls Kagome back from the ledge. Kagome lets her mother do this, lets herself lean into her mother's warmth in the face of all this crushing possibility.
"Mom I," Are the shaky words Kagome tries to preface her departure with, not sure what to even say -- lost in how she's meant to articulate the avalanche of emotion she's feeling. Because even if this is a dream she can't bare to wait any longer, she needs to know if...if maybe the well heard her and is by some miracle answering her prayers.
Mrs. Higurashi turns Kagome around to face her, hands soft as they frame her daughter's shoulders.
"Kagome," Her mother says her name and it holds all the world in it, Kagome looks up and is immediately swept away by the love in her mom's eyes. Mrs. Higurashi smiles at her then -- kind eyes closing on tears that are beginning to fall, and Kagome nearly collapses, "I understand."
With a sob Kagome embraces her mother for the last time.
"Tell Sota and Grandpa that I love them," Kagome murmurs in a rush.
Her mother only squeezes her tighter and nods. They shake in each other's arms for another breath before both pulling away.
"I am so proud of you Kagome," Mrs. Higurashi says, voice trembling with emotion but warm, always so warm.
"I love you Mama," Kagome responds as tears begin to swell in her eyes.
"Give this to him for me," Her mother requests as she takes Kagome's face in her hands, and leans in close to press a searing kiss to her forehead.
"Oh Mama," Kagome weeps as her mother's love wraps around her heart and fills her with a kind of joy she hasn't felt in years.
Mrs. Higurashi leans back a little and uses her thumbs to wipe the wetness off of Kagome's cheeks.
"Tell him that I love him, that I've always seen him as a son, and that I am proud to have him be apart of our family."
Kagome deteriorates into a watery mess as the sentiments her mother just shared wash over her. Wordlessly, Mrs. Higurashi helps her daughter climb up onto the lip of the well before they simply stare for a moment, taking each other in one more time. Then her mother bestows her one last parting gift.
"Live Kagome," Her mom hushes, fierce happiness triumphant in her voice, as she releases her daughter's hands and watches as she turns to leap down the well, body disappearing from sight moments later.
Goodbye Mama, Kagome calls back as she sinks into time.
Kagome relishes the sensations traveling through the well give her -- a fierce nostalgia gripping her chest at the bursts of cobalt light, the galactic vastness watching her fall past, the light at the bottom of the well welcoming her home...
When she lands on solid ground a part of her fears so intensely that she's still in her time, that she refuses to open her eyes. What if she were to look up and see her mother staring down at her? Kagome hesitates for a moment, eyes closed, standing so still, terrified that this isn't real, and then something throbs in her chest --
She feels him, feels his youki hurtling towards her and suddenly, Kagome is no longer afraid.
Inuyasha!
Kagome opens her eyes and squints at the sky above her, the breeze she felt earlier encouraging her towards her future. She makes it about three fourths of the way up the well when she hears him. The pounding of his feet against the earth as he races closer, his aura a brilliant thriving thing that feels like the sun against her skin. Kagome smiles through tears of insurmountable joy as a shadow passes over her. Kagome observes such belonging in him, such love, and it completes her.
"Inuyasha," She says his name, says it just for him, and he inhales, "I'm so sorry, were you waiting here for me?"
Inuyasha's expression shifts and Kagome gasps softly at the chaos he's trying to contain, but then he says her name. Says it just for her.
"Kagome."
A wet laugh escapes her lips at the sound of his voice, at how she used to long to hear him say her name, just like that.
"Inuyasha," Kagome murmurs again just because she can as her fingers play with the ends of his forelocks, eyes jumping all over his face trying to take in every part of him at once.
Unable to help herself, Kagome wraps both arms around his neck, relishing in the feel of his hair threading through her fingers, and presses her lips to his with a sigh. Inuyasha remains still for a moment, like his brain is one beat behind, before he clutches her to him so hard her lungs squeeze in her chest. Kagome doesn't care, in fact she doesn't feel like they're close enough. She wants to crawl her way into him and stay there forever, never to be separated again. The kiss feels like coming home, and it makes the part of her that sat empty for the past three years steadily fill. Inuyasha's lips are slightly chapped, she notes, and he kisses her like she's the only kind of devastation he'd willingly submit to. Impossibly, her love for him deepens further. Kagome pulls back with a gasp, trying to catch her breath as Inuyasha carefully sets her down on the ground, their lips brushing while the two of them tremble in the wake of such sweeping passion.
"Kagome," Inuyasha whispers her name again, like its the only word he knows, and dives back down to reclaim her lips.
She lets a soft noise shake loose from her chest when he tilts his head to deepen the kiss, his claws snagging on the material of her cardigan as he holds her close. Kagome feels a fang nip at her lower lip and, smiling into the kiss, she happily opens up for him. When their tongues meet, Inuyasha's hands raise to cup both sides of her jaw, mindful of his claws near such delicate skin. With something between a groan and a growl, he breaks their kiss to turn her head to the side, smoothing one reverent hand down the exposed length of her neck. Her heart beat picks up when in one long inhale, Inuyasha traces his nose in a steady line from her collarbone up to the patch of skin just below her ear. He makes a tender noise then, nearly a whine, and without preamble presses his face firmly into the arch of her neck, taking deep unhurried breaths through his nose. Kagome leaves one hand wrapped around the bulk of his shoulders, but brings the other one up to hold the back of his head in place against her. One of his ears flicks against her cheek and in a moment of raw delight, a giggle bubbles up from her throat as does a fresh wave of tears. Inuyasha flattens the offending ear against his skull but Kagome remains undeterred and drops a sweet kiss on to the delicate appendage, the soft fur tickling her lips a little. She holds him even closer as he melts against her at the intimate display of affection.
Oh kami she'd missed him so much.
"Kagome!"
It takes a second for the two of them to come back down to earth, but the call of Shippo's voice encourages Kagome to turn towards the sound of approaching footsteps. Inuyasha makes a firm noise against the skin of her neck -- a warning, like he wasn't ready to let her go yet. He tenses when she ignores him and stiffens even further as Shippo continues to barrel closer. In the span of a heartbeat Inuyasha has Kagome behind him and lets a true growl rip from his throat. Kagome startles against his back, realizing belatedly that he'd just threatened Shippo.
--
"Inuyasha?" Kagome's words come out sounding like an odd mix of admonishment and worry.
Shippo looks genuinely shocked at being challenged with such a territorial threat display, having slid to an abrupt halt at Inuyasha's feet. Inuyasha comes back to himself after a few beats, brain catching up with his instincts, and his aggression falters.
"Slowly," Inuyasha grinds out as he steps to the side to allow Kagome to come forward, working furiously to relax his muscles.
Respecting Inuyasha's warning, Shippo moves very carefully towards Kagome, though he only manages to take two steps before Kagome is crashing to her knees and hauling him into her arms.
"Shippo!" She cries and Shippo immediately starts bawling.
The young kitsune grabs tuffs of her hair in his tiny fists and smashes his face into her neck, repeating her name over and over again unable to help himself. Inuyasha stiffens again at this, but grits his teeth against the instinct to tear the runt clean out of Kagome's arms. She wouldn't like that, and honestly neither would Inuyasha, he knows how much Kagome means to Shippo.
What's wrong with me?
"You, you made it back!" Sango bursts as her and Miroku catch up and come to a stop a few feet in front of them, kids in tow.
"It's been much too long Kagome!" Miroku calls in absolute astonishment.
"Miroku, Sango!" Kagome all but weeps as she rises from the ground, Shippo still held tight in her arms, and rushes to embrace them.
Inuyasha feels that angry tug in his gut again at the idea of so many scents polluting Kagome's skin so soon after getting her back, but the larger part of him can only smile as he watches his woman hug Sango then Miroku -- mindful of the kids in their arms and murmuring little 'hello's to them as well. He can smell the depth of their rapture as they all rejoice Kagome's return. It puts Inuyasha's heart into a state of profound contentment, and he realizes then that he's never felt this way before. Who knew anticipation could be a good feeling? Because damn was he ready to experience every single tomorrow with Kagome by his side.
--
The rest of the afternoon is spent celebrating. Kagome reunites with Kaede, the elder priestess nearly speechless with elation at seeing Kagome push aside the noren of her hut. To Kagome's surprise Rin is also there, the young girl delighted by Kagome's return as well, and hadn't hesitated to gush about how lonely Inuyasha was without her. Inuyasha had only shrugged at this, not denying it but still sent a betrayed glare Rin's way as color rose high on his cheeks. Kagome is welcomed back by the people of the village too, townsfolk she'd gotten to know during her time collecting jewel shards being especially pleased to see her, though they knew not where she'd gone. Kagome and Inuyasha stuck to each other like glue through it all, unwilling to part for even a moment. No one blamed them.
At one point Kagome started to panic because she had to pee of all things, and the thought of loosing sight of her hanyou if only for a minute terrified her. The fear that this was a dream kept gnawing at her, and the possibility that this could all be taken away at any moment made Kagome feel physically ill. She'd held it in as long as she could before walking nearly knock-kneed to relieve herself. It turned out Kagome needn't have worried at all because without a word Inuyasha had followed her, giving her true privacy for only as long as it took to empty her bladder before he was within her sights again. Kagome had blushed furiously when it occurred to her that him being so close while she used the bathroom probably meant that he could...smell it. When she tried to shoo him away he only stared at her, firmly shaking his head no once, and waited. After Kagome had finished she'd made her way back over to Inuyasha, feeling incredibly sheepish about the whole situation. The moment she was close enough though he'd pulled her into a desperate hug and whispered,
"Please bare with me Kagome, I-I can't..." He'd trailed off but Kagome was already hugging him back, refusing to let go. She understood.
They shared a grand feast with Sango and Miroku that evening, Kagome using the time to properly acquaint herself with their children. Shippo sat in her lap for most of the meal, and its as she stared at her friends -- her family, that Kagome realized that she'd been given something truly precious and everything in her vowed to never let it go. This was more than she could have ever hoped for, and the fear that this was temporary strangled her multiple times throughout the reunion. But Inuyasha was always right there beside her, and having him close ended up being the only way to ease the worst of her anxiety. After everyone finished their food and caught up on each other's lives as much as they could in one sitting (the serious questions being left for tomorrow), the pair said their goodbyes for the night. Shippo had fought to retire with Inuyasha and Kagome, but was stilled by Miroku's hand on his small shoulder. Kagome embraced Shippo before delivering a soft peck to his cheek, letting him nuzzle back for a beat or two more before promising to come back first thing in the morning.
Now Kagome and her hanyou are getting settled in a hut the villagers had built for Inuyasha that's set on the outskirts of the village. It's quite obvious to Kagome from the state of the place that Inuyasha hardly uses it, though she knows how lonely he gets by himself and she figures he probably spends most of his time with Sango and Miroku who live more centrally to the village. Inuyasha's hut is mounted at the peak of a sloping hill, the tallest in the surrounding area besides the shrine itself. At first she wondered if the villagers meant to ostracize Inuyasha by putting his hut so far from everyone else's, but as they reach the hill's zenith, she realizes it isn't a sign of disrespect but quite the opposite. The vista from his home has views of the entire village and even overlooks a decent portion of the forest. On the opposite side of the hut, miles of stunning countryside sprawls under the hazy light of the setting sun all the way to the horizon. Inuyasha would be able to spot danger days before it arrived, or gain minutes to whole hours of advantage if the threat was a youkai. The villagers aren't keeping him at a distance, they're treating him like their Lord, giving him the highest ground, the most control over the land -- trusting that he will use it to protect them. It makes Kagome's heart clench with raging pride.
"It's beautiful," Kagome finds herself murmuring as they stand side by side overlooking the village together, the wind shifting their hair about their shoulders.
"Yeah," Inuyasha says, sounding distracted.
His tone makes Kagome shift her gaze over to him but she finds that he's already staring at her. Before he would have turned away with a blush and started spouting some blistering nonsense in order to cover up the fact that he'd been caught, but now he lets himself look. It makes something in Kagome's lower stomach go tight. They take each other in for what feels like a bracketed infinity, the moment sacred somehow, and neither of them are willing to break it. Inuyasha takes a step closer and reaches his clawed hands down to gently collect her smaller ones. He brings her hands up to his chest, cradling them there, not once looking away from Kagome's eyes.
"I promise I'll protect you with my life." Inuyasha declares, his voice low and quiet and meant only for her.
Kagome takes an uneven inhale and her heart skips a beat as she realizes he's repeating the same vow he gave to her in her room the night her family was away at the hot springs all those years ago. It hits her then how utterly hers Inuyasha is, how devoted to her he was in the past and how he has remained that way since. It's his way of telling her nothing has changed. Inuyasha watches this epiphany play out on Kagome's face and his expression softens around the steadiness of his gaze.
"I will allow nothing to take you from me again, and I will never leave your side."
Shuddering in the wake of his oath, Kagome shuffles closer to him and finally says what she's always regretted never telling him directly.
"I love you Inuyasha," She watches as his pupils drag wide at her confession, "You will always have me, and I will happily spend the rest of my life with you to prove that."
Inuyasha slowly lowers his head until their foreheads touch through the hair of their bangs, his eyes closing as he takes a deep breath in through his nose. Kagome feels a wave of peace come over her then that she finds she's quite content to drown in. She stays like that with him for another moment before pulling away just enough to catch his eye.
"My mother," Kagome hushes and Inuyasha instantly stills, "She asked me to give this to you."
Exactly as her mom did, Kagome extracts her hands from Inuyasha's and reaches for his face, fingers tender as they slide against the warm skin of his jaw. Panic flits across Inuyasha's features then, startled at being handled like he was something precious, and realizing he's horrifically unprepared for whatever is about to come next. Kagome's smile is nothing but fond as she tilts his head down enough so that she's able to lean in and deliver her mother's kiss to his forehead. Inuyasha's hands come up to wrap around her forearms, not to move her away but, Kagome suspects, just to have something to hold on to. His ears flatten under the gravity of the gesture. Kagome closes her eyes and remains there for another beat, before pulling away and lifting his face back up only to touch the tip of her nose to his.
"She also wanted me to tell you that she loves you," She murmurs.
Inuyasha releases a wet sounding exhale and attempts to move away -- overwhelmed by the rawness of all of this, but Kagome holds his face firm and presses on, wanting desperately for him to hear the rest because he deserves to know.
"She said she has always seen you as a son, and is proud to consider you family."
"Kagome," Inuyasha begs, his voice a wobbling mess as he nuzzles closer in defeat, unable to stand the depth of Mrs. Higurashi's gift to him.
After a long moment of them just breathing, he shifts his head and quietly slots their lips together. He releases his grip on her forearms so he can snake his arms around her middle, hands wrapping as far across her back as possible, before pulling her flush against him. Inuyasha keeps the kiss chaste -- utterly humbled. Kagome can only imagine what this must mean to him, and she hazards her mother must have known too.
They stay joined under the warm evening sky as the stars begin to shine through dusk's heavy golden canopy. The sun finally sinks all the way under the horizon, having delayed itself in order to cast as much light as possible onto the pair standing atop the hill -- presenting fate's masterful work to the heavens. A sudden gust of wind picks up around them, and it causes the two to sway a little. Hands clutching tight, lips molding softly, and hair floating around their heads as if submerged in deep water, they know nothing in that moment except each other.
Somewhere far beyond this world, a priestess -- no, an ordinary woman, looks down on Inuyasha and Kagome and smiles.
--
Kagome arranges the light summer quilt Sango lent her over the futon set in the back corner of Inuyasha's hut. She would have to do something (many somethings) in order to make this place livable. A shy glee erupts in her chest at the thought of decorating it, organizing a home for both her and Inuyasha to live in felt surreal to consider even in her own head. She used to daydream about this kind of thing, the fact that she finally gets to fulfill her fantasy -- that it's her life now, takes her breath away.
"Inuyasha?" She calls once she's finished fussing with the quilt, folding one corner down, ready to get into bed.
The hut is dark, the night outside is still, and the fireplace remains unlit so they don't overheat. Kagome tries to swallow the fear cloying up her throat. Ever since she spent a small eternity trapped in endless darkness with the Jewel of Four Souls, she finds she can no longer stand to be alone in the dark. Back in her time, it had to be either her mom, Sota, or Buyo sleeping beside her each night or she wouldn't be able to get any rest at best, and at worst she would descend into an anxiety attack. It wasn't until her grandfather had suggested installing a night light that she was finally able to brave the long nights alone, though she still prefers to have a warm body to cuddle. It was in moments like those that she'd longed for Shippo the most. Once she'd been able to sleep on her own she had the nightmares to contend with, and those always left her feeling as close to true panic as she'd felt when facing Naraku. There are no night lights in the Feudal Era, but Kagome figures she'll be okay as long as she has Inuyasha with her.
"Inuyasha?" Kagome says again, this time unable to keep the quiver of fear out of her voice.
In an instant she feels a rush of air hit her as he drops to a crouch beside her, like he'd bolted to her from across the room.
"Kagome? What's wrong?"
She melts into him and he accepts her weight against his chest easily, strong arms shifting forward to box her in.
"Where were you?" Kagome hopes she doesn't sound as small as she feels.
Inuyasha stills against her for a beat before wrapping his arms around her completely, securing her in his embrace. Kagome accepts this improvement with a grateful sigh.
"Just checking the window." He pauses, then very carefully, asks, "Is...are you alright?"
He sounds worried, crap.
Kagome feels a stab of guilt for freaking him out.
"I'm fine," Kagome assures quickly, "Just, um, I-I'm ready for bed."
Cringing internally, Kagome wonders if that was convincing enough. With that sharp nose of his, she hopes he doesn't pick up on her lingering (but quickly diminishing) fear. How on earth could she convince him to sleep on the futon with her? Surely he won't object? Not after everything that happened between them today?
"Okay, well, I'll uh see you in the morning then," Inuyasha stutters as he begins to untangle himself from her and pull away --
Kagome's panic skyrockets, and before she can say or do anything, Inuyasha must smell the spike in her fear because he immediately winds himself back around her body.
"Woah hey," He hushes, becoming even more alarmed as Kagome all but crawls into his lap.
"I-I can't be alone, at night," Kagome struggles to explain as she takes shelter in his renewed embrace, "The darkness it --,"
She cuts herself off when she feels Inuyasha pillow his cheek against the soft hair at the top of her head.
"I'll hold you till you fall asleep then," He promises in a soft voice, as soft as she's ever heard him speak.
She can feel his words vibrate through his chest, and it calms her nerves some. Kagome wants to argue, wants to push for more -- sleep beside me, hold me all night -- but she doesn't. He doesn't seem to want that, even after promising her he'd never leave her side. Kagome's anxiety gets the better of her and it seals her lips shut. She settles in the circle of his arms and is resolved to be satisfied with this, at least for now, knowing she's much too shaken to negotiate with him tonight. Kagome knows without a shadow of a doubt that she'll wake up the moment he sets her down on the futon, but she doesn't tell him that. Hopefully she can fake being asleep well enough to fool his hanyou senses, and hopefully the knowledge that he's nearby will be enough to stop her from having a full blown episode. If she can hang on till the early hours of the morning, maybe the fragile rays of first light will be enough to cling to. Kagome can admit to herself that she won't be able to maintain this routine for long, but she hopes it lasts until she's plucked up the courage to ask Inuyasha, point blank and without room for misinterpretation, to share her bed.
--
Inuyasha knew he wouldn't be getting any sleep tonight, no way would he risk making Kagome vulnerable to any kind of attack so soon after getting her back. His instincts wouldn't have allowed for any other course of action, and on this front Inuyasha is in rare agreement with his youkai half. But he doesn't expect Kagome to share the same determination. He'd panicked earlier when he smelled how fast and how sharply her fear had spiked. Inuyasha vowed to himself at that moment to never allow her to feel that way in his presence again, not if he could help it. She had held on to him so fiercely, and still is even after hours of being in the safety of his arms. Its like she's afraid he'll leave again. This knowledge makes something in his chest shatter and his gut ache. Unable to stop himself, he rubs his cheek where it rests against the top of her head and takes a deep inhale, letting her scent soothe him. Each time he hears her heartbeat slow and she starts to drift off, he waits a few minutes before trying to lay her down on the futon. Without fail though she's yanked back from sleep every time, as if his touch is vital in order for her to rest. A part of him relishes in this level of dependency on him, his youkai half preening at the fact that his mate --
Inuyasha grunts and stands, unwilling to entertain any thoughts about that, and makes his way swiftly out of the hut and into the mild night. He's careful not to jostle Kagome in his arms too much as he lowers into a measured crouch, and launches himself into the air towards the roof. Landing effortlessly on the balls of his feet, Inuyasha pauses as Kagome sighs in her sleep and twists her fists tighter into the material of his han-juban. Inuyasha blushes to himself thinking about how he had all but tripped out of the hut earlier when Kagome started changing out of her day clothes and into a yukata Sango had lent her in front of him.
With a firm shake of his head he banishes that particular train of thought from his mind, and lowers himself down to sit on the angled roof. After a minute of cautious shifting, he gives up and lies flat on his back, arranging Kagome's sleep-pliant body so she's tucked snuggly between his arm and his side. He tells himself this is different than sleeping on the futon with her, that this isn't breaking any 'rules of propriety' Kagome used to always yell at him about.
Screw it, he thinks, if I get sat for this in the morning it will have been worth it.
Inuyasha tries not to think about how much he sounded like Miroku just now, and grumbles under his breath about stupid delinquent monks and confusing female sensibilities.
The stars are a dizzying pattern above him, the moon is a sliver in the sky, and Kagome is curled safely into his side with her cheek squished against his chest while one of her leanly muscled arms has thrown itself securely across his waist -- Inuyasha couldn't feel more at peace if he tried. Everything is as it should be. He hasn't felt rightness like this since...well, since Kagome left three years ago. A cool evening breeze floats over them then, shooing away the insistent press of the summer heat, and kisses their temples before moving on. Inuyasha lazily picks apart the different scents the wind carried -- sap from the trees in the forest, ash from the chimneys in the village, wet earth from the banks of the nearby river...he lets it all wash over him, one sensation at a time. He remembers Kagome caught him doing this once years ago, and when she'd asked him about it he'd told her it was kind of like how humans count sheep when trying to fall asleep. A self-soothing exercise is what she concluded it was similar too. Inuyasha didn't elaborate that the habit was an old one he'd developed during his childhood. Back when he was too weak to fight any of the youkai that hunted him, he'd find somewhere to hide and rock himself in time with his breaths, carefully combing through the scents in the air until he was sure the threat had passed. There had been a brief pause before Kagome asked what he could smell, no judgment or disgust, just innocent curiosity and a hint of fascination simmering in the umber of her eyes. No one had ever asked him about his sense of smell like that before. Inuyasha's heart had clenched in his chest, and it does so now as the memory unfolds before him only this time without the promise of pain. Reliving cherished moments of his time with Kagome used to only bring him anguish, but now...
Inuyasha turns his face into Kagome's hairline that's level with his nose, flares his nostrils, and proceeds to take a sleepy inhale. Her scent shoots straight up into his head and a sensation that feels bizarrely like dizziness makes his skull feel light, and his mind feel like its floating. Inuyasha attempts to turn away once the moment passes, but his body refuses to comply. Instead, before he really knows what he's doing, Inuyasha finds himself nosing down her forehead, over the bridge of her nose, past her slightly parted lips, and under her jaw. Kagome mutters something unintelligible in her sleep in response to all of his tender nudging (Inuyasha resolutely ignores the way it makes all of his insides go soft), but ultimately allows her chin to be directed up, exposing her neck to him. Something in Inuyasha flares hot at the action, and he's instantly compelled to guide his nose into the notch of skin between her neck and her jaw. This is what he'd been searching for.
Safe, something inhuman in his head rumbles, only here is safe.
Inuyasha couldn't agree more, Kagome had always been ineffable to him. He had known Kagome by her scent before he'd known her by her features, it's what first caught his attention when Kikyo's spell keeping him pinned to Goshinboku started to falter. Inuyasha hadn't realized it then, but he'd belonged to Kagome the moment she'd told him her name. Inuyasha smiles like a complete love-struck idiot as he remembers the way she had puffed out her chest and demanded that he say her name right.
Ka - Go - Me!
He allows himself to continue grinning like a fool against the skin of her neck because no one's around to mock him for it, and because it feels good to be happy. He's happy --
"Inuyasha..." Kagome suddenly hums, his name on her lips the sweetest thing he'll ever hear.
Inuyasha pulls his face back just far enough to take in her expression, and something glorious surges in him when he finds that she's smiling in her sleep.

Variegated Solomon’s Seal: What is one thing you wished you could seal away and never see/feel/use/etc again? Why? (for any/all :] )
(You said ‘all’, so here you go - long post ahead!)
“As much as I hate some things, losing them completely could be dangerous if it lead to careless or complacency, like uncertainty or old memories. I’m not sure if there’s anything I’d want to get rid of.”
“...actually, scrap that. If I could seal away any single thing, I’d do that to Ifrit. Or the primals in general. They deserve to be sent to the seventh hell and never be seen again.”
“Is emptiness a feeling? If so, I would seal away that. Sometimes it feels as if my feelings had already been sealed away in part, and I would do almost anything to break free of that uncertain numbness.”
“One thing which I would never see, feel or use again...? I think I would choose my worries... ah, no, my anxiety. Losing all concern could make me unkind and that would be awful, but... I wish my heart wouldn’t get gripped by such dread so often.”
“I would seal away my magic. I don’t think that it can ultimately be used for anything good.”
“Hm, I’m not sure if there is anything in my personal life which I would like to seal away - and more general-level concepts like poverty or greed are complex and rooted in many things, which would probably mean that they can’t be eradicated without further actions.”
“I suppose I wish I could seal away my family’s expectations of carrying the less savoury parts of their legacy, but I have more or less accepted my role. I will do my best not to pass it onto the next generations - and will likely succeed, as I have no intention of having children of my own.”
“Sayin’ ‘all the fishbacks’ wouldn’t probably be allowed, aye? I don’t care fer ‘em, but I guess could do with their slimy scaly god-primal, too. Ain’t a lot of La Nosceans who wouldn’t wish fer that, I reckon.”
“Saying ‘nah’ would probably be more in line with my personality, but you know what? I wouldn’t mind if I could seal away my memories of Cartenau. If I needed to remember that I was there, others could just say “oh, G’ilas, you were there too!” and then I could go “oh, I guess I really was!...”
“... and I could do without the pain.”
“Give me a way to seal away betrayal, and I’d do almost anything. Seeing your own parents give you up for some bloody stupid heretic crap? I don’t need that, and I especially don’t need to remember how it felt.”
“I don’t know. Tears? Frustration? No: even though I wish people’s actions and words wouldn’t get under my skin so often, both of those have their time and place. I feel like everything - or at least more or less everything - in my life has been there for a reason, even though all of it has hardly been pleasant. That’s why I don’t think I would wish to seal anything away.”
“I would seal away my headaches, which distract me and prevent me from doing my duties. I am aware that they might be a warning sign and something which should be heeded...”
“...but I would still remove them and do my duty to my full extent instead of being gripped by slow deterioration and a seed of doubt.”
