Aspheera in my style.

First off just to get this out of the way, I don’t believe she has sniddes no matter how funny that would be. It’s just the breast plate she’s wearing that makes her look like she’s got them sniddies. (The only time I ever like sniddies is when it’s either Zummeng’s design on her characters or like how this one Instagram artist did it with the explanation of snake tits actually being where they store snacks or small eggs. I only accept that.)

Secondly, yes she is getting a rewrite in my series as well because she definitely deserved more than just the revenge but she got stuck with. I’ll still let her keep her need for vengeance but… Imma add in emotional manipulation with my Basilisk guy and her actively try to be cordial with Wu and proceeds to backstab him in the end. She’s gonna play the long game just for that.

Her look is based off of samalamb-bases (In fact that's where I got the anthro legs from).

I truly hope that these "Dragonians" DON'T use the Vidiyo dragon head mold... I don't know what it is but to me I feel like this piece just DOESN'T fit the Ninjago style(?) Like comparing the Vidiyo dragon head to the Wolf Mask or Vengestone Warrior heads, it feels like despite the molded detail, the flat eyes, nostrils, and mouth just wouldn't feel right, considering how every important detail with Ninjago animal designs nowadays has to be molded?

Day 14: Fire Snake

Sorry it took a while. I got sucked into my oneshot for a minute and I kept getting distracted everywhere else.

Anyways, here’s the one, the only, the fieriest of fire snake people, Aspheera!

Lovely serpent she is. (Not coming close to the next time I draw a serpentine lady though. Can’t wait to post her). Also did anyone know that her golden colors were just her blue scales being inverted? I never knew that until now.

Ninjago seasons are legitimately just Ctrl+c + Ctrl+v + paraphrase. It gets even funnier when you realize that half of these are actually connected.

The Vermillion warriors came from the Great Devourer's eggs, who, initiated the creation and collaboration of the serpentine tribes.

Aspheera created teh pyro vipers by stealing Kai's powers. The same way Chen recreated the anacondrai warriors by stealing everyone's powers.

The Merlopians were hidden away from humanity for centuries. Until one deranged individual was like "A Whole New WOOoOoOrld~~" And then they attacked the humans.... JUST LIKE THE SEPENTINE-

Honestly kindaaaaa pisses me off how they sorta threw away the Serpentine tribes thing and now you can just have orange, green, or purple guys and they're not Constrictai, Venomari, or Anacondrai... it's all Hypnobrai or snakes designed with Pyro Viper heads I don't enjoy this fact at ALL!!!

I didn’t notice this until like 5 seconds ago but

WE FINALLY GOT FEMALE GRUNTS FOR VILLAIN ARMIES!

Dragons Rising has both male and female grunts, finally!

Okay there may have been unnamed female sky pirates and ghosts, but no cultists, no pyro vipers, and most importantly no grunt speaking roles!

Kapow, Clutch, Squify, Bucco, are all memorable male grunts! Who have speaking roles! Dragons rising is the first season with female villain grunts in speaking roles!

Idk I’m kinda ranting, and I don’t usually fixate on representation for Ninjago but it’s just cool to see now (:

Okay, so Jett's obviously an anemo sword user, duh(but they're dual daggers). She's the standard 5* that was meta early game but then fell off years later

Sage is litterly a geomancer. But she's that character whose design doesn't fit their element. Standard 5*, catalyst.

The ripple effects when you shoot at Astra's wall and just the overall visual of her kit screams hydro. Catalyst, 5* that's an S tier support

The 4* vibes radiating from Yoru are flabbergasting despite his ego. Cryo dps that requires the blood sacrifice of your entire lineage to be decent. Sword user

Dendro bow Skye cause it just feels right. 4* dps that's better than some 5*s

Using her dendro vision, Viper releases poisonous fumes using plants. Polearm. Is supposed to be a 5* bc of her status and lore but alas. Ningguang treatment fr

Unfortunately, Reyna is that 5* with a kit so bad they're basically a premium 3*. Electro polearm.

Gekko is the SS+ tier 4* support that has like a 91.6% spiral abyss usage. "𝘐𝘧 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘥𝘰𝘯'𝘵 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘨𝘦𝘬𝘬𝘰 𝘪𝘯 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘵𝘦𝘢𝘮, 𝘵𝘧 𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘯 𝘥𝘰𝘪𝘯𝘨??" Dendro claymore

SS tier pyro catalyst 5* dps since release. You can pry the meta out of Raze's cold dead hands. Popular enough that even people who know nothing about the game recognize her.

Deadlock is the most forgotten character, but she's still a decent 4* for beginners. Cryo claymore.

Omen would be a 5* anemo catalyst with the sickest animations not him dying instead of his friends

Sword user cypher who had to be sent to the ER for singlehandedly carrying the geo meta. 5*

Fade would probably have the creepiest idle voice lines. 4* cryo catalyst.

Dearest father brimstone. Everyone looses their 50/50 to him at least once. Standard 5* geo claymore.

Our Pyro king Phoenix who happens to be the worst Pyro character. But at least he's got great humor and a loveable personality! Also pretty popular. Standard 5*, sword user

Breach is that character that will get you kicked from someone's world if you dare try to bring him into a domain. 4* Pyro claymore

4* Iso who should've been a 5* with how strong his shield is. Slap some def% and he's tanking 5 ruin guards and 3 abyss mages at the same time. Electro bow

Neon is definitely one of those niche characters. Not versatile in most team comps but will do big dmg if you get her the specific setup. 5* Electro catalyst

Clove was called trash even before they were released. Turned out to be the best 5* sub-dps. Will nuke your enemies if teamed up with astra. Hydro bow

Killjoy doesn't wield her claymore herself, she has tech to that for her. Electro 4*

Sova has a pretty easy kit to understand, he's also pretty easy to build. The kind of character you wouldn't mind loosing your 50/50 to. Standard 5*, cryo bow

You'd need a PhD from an ivy League university to understand chamber's kit though, so most people just end up skipping his banner. 5* hydro catalyst with the lowest player ownership lmao

4* that's being held captive in the basement, harbour gets to be on a banner once a year if lucky. Hydro claymore genshin could never.

KAY/O is that one character that, by all means, refuses to crit. Idk why. Anemo claymore.

Genuinely hate what they did with the Serpentine Lore in s4 if I can be honest and ramble my frustrations here? (I go and talk about other Serpentine too)

The Anacondrai, both the dead tribe and the cultists, have very obviously a different shade of purple scales and a severe lack of black/yellow markings and crystals that Pythor has as well as the very different neck and head shape which are all very valid reasons to be disappointed in their designs, I am too. But it gets worse.

S1 shows us how Scales became the Hypnobrai general- he got different markings, got a tail and was the only one who held the staff. There was a second in command (which was Scales' previous rank in the tribe) and each member of the tribe that wasn't the general had legs. Plus, there's about four to five different designs per tribe (depends if you count the leader/general with their clearly shown special markings and tail). There is only one general per tribe.

The s4 Anacondrai lack all of that. All of them have a tail, even Garmadon and Skylor recieve snake tails despite clearly not being the Anacondrai general. This season mentions there's multiple generals in the Anacondrai tribe, yet we're only shown Anacondrai with the tail. Not a single one with legs or distinct designs. The lack of a resemblance to Pythor's markings, colors and head/neck shape is enraging enough but the absolute lack of diversity in their designs is so painful to watch as someone who literally has a degree in media design. They make it look like Pythor, even pre-bleach, like a completely different type of Serpentine while all the others are the same bland carbon copies of each other. They're literally my least favorite tribe because of this and I don't even have any Serpentine minifigures yet (except Crystalized Aspheera, but I'm getting to her later anyway) but even if I did, I wouldn't want to display them. I'd willingly display any Serpentine tribe except the Anacondrai. And that's saying something for someone who finds the designs of the Vermillion reminiscent of guts and thus dislikes them.

On the topic of the Vermillion, why not briefly discuss why there's not a single one of those with a Serpentine tail? Easy: they're the tiny baby snakes that just somehow through Ninjago logic can form human-sized Serpentine that can talk and do everything perfectly. They're basically just the little baby snakes though, and last I checked babies can't take over leadership positions.

Now, a brief look at Aspheera because people don't like that she has the ghost tail in sets instead of the Serpentine tail. And that's also really easy to answer: she's not a general, she's a sorceress. Not a general. Yes, she has a tail in the show but she has a completely different rank from the other Hypnobrai of her time that we know of (btw, I love that Char is in the flashbacks with her (except when she frees Wu and Garmadon), that's so cute imo). Speaking of Hypnobrai, did you pay attention to her in the flashbacks vs. her when she's released from the pyramid? When she's young she has Hypnobrai markings on her head but when she is free she doesn't. Why? I'd say it's like the earlier mention of markings, like how the general has their own distinct markings for whoever takes that spot & that exiled Serpentine (remember, she was to be magically entombed for her crime of overthrowing the king) just lose their markings altogether so you can easier identify those that are no longer a part of the tribe. There, problem solved. And for the question on how she could absorb fire and crystal powers? Simple: sorceress. She ccould've probably used Nya's water in crystalized too, if not for the New Ninja and police coming to lock the ninja up.

Also.. The pyro vipers? They're mummies. I assume they've been long dead even before Aspheera and the pyramids lava 'ignited'/revived them. I've no guess what tribe they could've been from but I definitely doubt that it would be a fire-related one. However, the Hypnobrai evolved physically and changed into the type that we've known since 2012 some time after Aspheera got locked in the pyramid. I also like that we got to see the Hypnobrai no longer being purely blue/grey with some yellow but that there's also some pink and purple ones now. That is, what I would say, a result of the four Serpentine tribes being locked under Ninjago city and uniting in more ways than just "we're all friends now".
