“Well, Viking?” I challenge him. “Is this your keep?”

His warm, steady gaze turns smoldering. His lips curve into a slow smile. “It is. For now.” He doesn’t take his eyes from mine.

“And what would you do if your princess tried to run?”

He doesn’t move. He just takes another sip of coffee and watches me.

The anticipation of his reaction turns me into a live wire.

“There would be consequences, of course.”

A tremor of excitement starts up behind my knees. The flesh between my legs lifts and squeezes. Without breaking eye contact, I slowly slide my coffee mug onto the counter.

Then, I take off running. I make it to the glass sliding doors and waste a few precious seconds figuring out how to get it unlocked. The glass on the doors seems extra-thick. Like maybe it’s bullet-proof.

I throw the door open and realize Darius hasn’t moved yet.

Is he going to chase me?

He’d better not ruin this for me.

“Run, princess.” His murmur is a low rumble.

I take off sprinting across the deck and down the stairs to the sand below. I run for the water, where the wet sand will be better packed and easier to run on. Once there, I run as fast as I can.

Which isn’t very fast since my only exercise is riding Starlight.

It doesn’t matter, because when I look over my shoulder, Darius is right behind me, almost like he’s holding back even after giving me a head start.

I shriek in surprise.

He lunges forward and catches me around my waist. “Bad princess,” he murmurs in my ear as he spins me around. I cling to his muscled forearms. The gorgeous, corded tree trunks. “Now, I’m going to have to punish you.”

MY ARC REVIEW:

The third book in The Splintered Bond series, and boy, these books just get better and better, lots of action and lots going on in the storyline, I really found it difficult to put it down!

Flor's mate collection is growing! Each of them are so different - Brand is fabulous, love him, he would do anything for Flor, like them all really, but he is the soft and emotional one, yet he turns out to be so strong in this book! Glen is the fun one and has rejected his own pack to be with Flor, and is now wanted by the Council, preferably dead. Finnick is back under his parent's thumb, being made to do things he doesn't want to do, whilst loving Flor from afar, trying to keep her away to keep her safe. Luke is the Southern heir, left behind, and in desperate need of Flor in this book, he is literally being kept alive by Grigor, who everyone fears and looks at like the Boogeyman, but I love him and his dark ways with his magic, his courting gifts for Flor are awesome!

None of the Heirs feel like their are worthy of having Flor as their fated mate.

Lots going on in the storyline as the Council decides to take on the packs and war is in the offing!

There is still some hot and steamy passionate moments between the Heir(s) and their mate, sometimes just M/F, others are M/F/M. This ends on a big cliffhanger and I can't wait to find out what happens. Fantastic series, highly recommended for any dark/shifter fans.

The first book in the Bad Boy Bears series, although the story of the bear twins, Teddy and Darius, has already been told, you don't have to have read this to enjoy this fantastic shifter read - where a billionaire bear shifter, away from his home, finds his mate, a human female who seems to be a captive in her own home by her guardian - Darius needs to find out just what is going on!

Darius left his home under the guise of making something of himself to save his land, keeping his bear locked down after a violent childhood trauma left him afraid of letting his bear loose. He gets invited by Thom, who is the wealthiest hedge fund billionaire in the hopes of making some new deals.

Paloma has been held captive by Thom since her parents died, her younger sister, Wren, being held at a strict boarding school to enforce her compliance, as Paloma has a unique psychic ability to be able to play the stock markets, knowing which companies will either win or fall. Thom has made his billions off Paloma and her abilities, but can see even more potential in breeding her out and loaning her for a short amount of time, of course to the highest bidder!

When Darius seems Paloma for the first time he is immediately drawn to her, his bear fighting for control to be near her, with Darius struggling to keep himself together. Paloma was instantly attracted to the Viking like huge man, but thought he was just another one of Thom's acquaintances there to bid on her. Little does she know she's about to be rescued by a bear of a man!

Loved the story line with these two, and then when they get back to bear land and meet all his family, that was just awesome! Hot and steamy bear passion, with some Viking fantasies thrown in there for good measure! A fabulous start to this series, can't wait to read more about these bears and their family.
