Tim accidently referring to the Joker as Dad but those who know about Joker Jr aren’t present and so everyone is left with the ‘realisation’ that Tim is the son of the biggest nightmare to their family.
It’s probably Jason and Steph, her there to bother Tim but Jason went to the manor for food and the two naturally started arguing. Maybe Jason tells Tim to stop costing on his case and prove a point be made against blonde, but Tim just offhandedly goes, “Later, I think my dad broke out of Arkham again but the guards aren’t doing anything. Maybe they’re in on it…”
The two present naturally look at each other with confusion and for the first time stop bickering to peak over his shoulder and see what his case is because, holy shit Tim had a villain for a dad and didn’t tell us? Only to see numerous photos of the Joker in his cell and many reports over the last week of how he’s been behaving and Jason…
Steph pushes the man out of the room when she sees his face go from frozen fear to anger, thinking it’s towards Tim and his secrecy and, while she totally gets that, now isn’t the time.
Though when they get into the Jason starts a rant about how Bruce and Dick should have told him that the monster had a child, even if that child wasn’t Tim! Jason protects kids! Did they think he’d hurt him just because of who his father is?
No!
If anything, he’d become the kids full time body guard to stop that mad man from making Tim into another version of himself!
The two naturally go to tell the others, pulling Damian, Cass and Duke into a mostly unused room and telling them what they discovered, all while Tim stays in the library working on his case.
Cass is beyond worried but also confused because he doesn’t seem to have any physical characteristics of the Joker or Harley, but maybe the mother is different? Perhaps it’s still Janet and either she had a fling with the Joker or something far worse, which makes the young girl enraged on the woman’s behalf.
Damian makes a comment about him killing Tim, not in a serious manner but more as an option, but Duke shuts it down, saying that having a villain for a parent doesn’t mean anything about who you will be. He points out those in the family of that nature and other heroes like Superboy.
When asked why they didn’t get Dick or Babs involved, Jason says they defiantly know and lied about it.
It’s only after another three hours of working that Tim catches himself referring to the Joker as dad and shuts his laptop, making his way to Bruce’s room to hide under the older man’s bed like he usually does when that happens, only to overhear what his siblings are saying.
Tim presses his ear against the door to hear better.
“If that maniac had a kid, surely he’d have told everyone he had an heir or something.” That’s Steph’s voice, filled with worry that only he and Cass could detect as she hides it under a whiney tone.
Jason is next to respond, “maybe he doesn’t know? I mean, did Tim ever even interacted with him before he became Robin?”
It doesn’t take much more than that for Tim to realise that he must have been talking aloud again or absently answered someone earlier and misspoke in front of them.
Panic fills him as he avoids telling Bruce when he gets bad, even if it’s just a small thing, because the older man will start of being a concerned parent then go into Batman mode and only just stop himself from putting Tim in the confinement cell. Sure Tim came up with the idea of the cell so he wouldn’t hurt anyone if his conditioning got too bad, but he’s learnt the signs. He’s not a mindless drone, he still knows who he is and doesn’t hear someone talking to him or anything like that.
He just… sometimes forgets the Joker hurt him.
It’s not Tim’s fault that memories of watching TV with him and Harley, tucked between them with a big bowl of ice cream felt better than most memories of his real parents.
But he knows it’s wrong, always comes back to calling the Joker his enemy.
Bruce just doesn’t get that.
Tim hears them talk a bit more, theories about who his mother might be, if Tim is safe at the manor, if Joker knows he has a son…
Opening the door, Tim stands there and stares at them as all eyes snap to him in alarm.
He doesn’t let anybody speak, cutting them all off quickly, “He’s not my dad. Go the cave and search for file number 26557933301-JJ and put in the code AGELAST, all caps.”
With that he turns and leaves, walking at first before running to Bruce’s room to hide.
He goes to family dinner and pretends not to notice the quietness or how Jason is still there, eating his food quietly and waiting for the ball to drop.
Naturally, Damian is the one to say what he wants first, “So why is okay that Tim shot the joker but I got in trouble for stabbing Bane?”
Everyone groans.

Let's think about something that can keep ya up at night, shall we?
So I know it will never be true but what if Nexus gets revived back, but without any memory. Like fresh out of New Moon, dude just got reset back to his original settings.
So, this new Nexus is kinda, naive, and just like how New Moon used to be before so much craps happens making him burn like a toast.
He has nowhere to go, so it kinda understandable if Sun, Earth and Solar wants to keep him because Sun is still feeling guilty about killing his ex brother and Earth is Earth. Poor girl just wants his old brother back. And Solar because of .. well, it was his best friend and also he needs to keep an eye in case something went wrong with that new Nexus, let's call him Nex.
So the thing is, they try to be better but... Like... They love Nex because he used to be New Moon, he used to be their brother.
They still love Nexus because of an old corpse live inside Nex's body, the one who got cooked so badly that the superhell refuses to take him.
And sure, this time they may not get tiptoe around him, but they still treat him like someone that is not him.
And isn't it tragic?
Nex's fate will forever be the second choice, the reflection of someone else, the amend.
I think Nexus is like Steven Universe, but it got worse.

I hope you hear this song, I hope it kills you too
All things considered, Buck should have known better.
Another fix-it for the people! No, I am not done with those.
Word count: 5250 - getting back together, non-consensual drug use, buck gets roofied and tommy comes to the rescue
Excerpt:
All things considered, Buck should have known better.
His first mistake was probably this club. He’d gone here with Tommy. That could only go wrong. But the guy he’d been chatting with had asked him to meet here, because it was a highly-regarded gay club, and Buck really didn’t want to get into the reasoning as to why he didn’t want to.
These past couple of weeks, Buck had done what Tommy had suggested and fallen back into that old pattern of looking for intimacy and the semblance of love from having sex with strangers. Because that was so much better and a really healthy coping mechanism.
He tried to ignore the pattern of his partners, but Buck wasn’t that good at lying to himself anymore. The first one was a woman with dark eyelashes framing large blue eyes that crinkled when she smiled. Buck didn’t call her again.
The next one was an older man with a stubble and brown hair who did MMA. Then came a man Buck’s age with a crooked smile and dry sense of humor. Then- well. A string of people with one characteristic that stayed the same – something about them reminded him of Tommy. He didn’t call any of them again, told them he wasn’t looking for anything. He still got the offers. He never went back.
Still, even the hole in his heart that felt bigger every time he left someone’s bed – because he never took them to his own loft, never to his own bed – didn’t stop him from looking for a temporary fix from the next best person. That was why he was here.

I don't know where I said his actions were due to anything but his convictions? Lan Wangji is a kind of person who doesn't care about judgements or opinions of the people. His actions are taken solely because of his judgement of what he thinks is right or wrong.
For example, he spoke up for WQ & WN when they gave themselves up. This was literally after Jin Zixuan died, after the entire cultivation world blamed Wen Ning and Wei Wuxian for Jin Zixuan's death. I think something like that takes an unimaginable level of guts or an utter disregard for the opinions of others.
I think, that Lan Wangji's actions were based very much on his own righteousness. But, I also think that while he did not have a high opinion on the cultivation world's righteousness, you are also not being kind enough to them.
There were many pieces of information that most of the cultivation world were not aware of, that made them dance to the Jin's tune. To be perfectly honest, the one person who had the most amount of information and the ability to turn the tides was Jiang Cheng, and his disregard for Wei Wuxian became pivotal in the Jin's plan to destroy him.
The Lan Sect honestly isn't that bad.
Firstly, when Wei Wuxian stormed in during the Jin banquet, he only asked for Wen Ning. And everyone was quite aware of the fact that the people who were broken out of the camps did not contain any elderly or young people. They only knew that WWX had done a jailbreak, stealing away all the Wen cultivators from the camp and going to the burial mound, which gave WWX the strongest source of power. Power he needed for... what?
Cultivation world is stupid and did not realize that WWX needed the power to defend himself from them. They thought he needed the power to build a stronger army or something, they didn't know, but if the Jins, who were the most informed in the situation said so, it must be so, right??
Second, the meeting was called so an explanation for Wei Wuxian's actions could be provided. What did JC do here? He said "WWX has always been like this, we'll promise reparations". Did he ever say if WWX was right or wrong? When Lan Xichen said that WQ had been innocent and never killed people, NMJ asked why exactly did she need to be treated differently from the other Wen cultivators? Did she expect special treatment just because they didn't know if she had killed or not? She was still on the enemy side. Had she done something for them, that she needed to be treated differently?
Here, JC stayed quiet.
No one knew that the Wens were anything other than young healthy cultivators. They knew about WN, WQ and cultivators taken from the prison. JC went and told WWX "no one could defend you during the meeting" when it was only he who had not defended WWX. LWJ, LXC, LQY had.
By nightless city, what exactly did the cultivating clans know? They knew that WN & WWX had killed JZX. They knew that WN & WQ had arrived at their doorstep, and that LWJ had stepped up to speak for them. That when WN went berserk, THE LANS died trying to stop his rampage. Someone needed to take responsibility.
The Nightless City seemed more like a show of support for the Jins than an actual promise of assistance against WWX, but they all had their reasons for being there. They did genuinely consider WWX as evil. No one defended him, no one told them that he wasn't evil and nor was any evidence given to the contrary.
Then the Nightless City massacre happened.
Honestly, unlike us, who have the omniscient viewpoint, people only got to know things due to people's gossips or talking about incidents. With so many people injured or dead, what could they do?
See, here you missed that though LXC was already quite influenced by JGY, he also wasn't a bad guy. The Lans, probably cause of LWJ, were the ones who actually took a lot of damage due to "WWX". And still, during the first siege, the Nie and Lan forces were so small that they might as well not have been there.
I feel like the impression the Sect gave to WWX, who actually did break all the rules all the time, made people think really badly of the Sect itself.
Honestly, most of the problems in WWX's first life happened because of JC and the Jins. JC was the one who was exempted from being attacked by the hundreds of corpses outside BM, who "took advantage of WWX's weakness to lead the attack". The weakness could have been that the 50 Wens were old and weak people, could have been his very presence which meant the corpses wouldn't attack him, would allow him to pass by unharmed and start killing the Wens and destroying WWX's inventions. Or it could have meant he knew that WWX was busy doing something like destroying his Stygian Tiger Seal and he would be weakened during this period.
So, no, I resent being told that the Lans were as bad as the rest of the cultivation world, who were also not as bad as your saying, but still pretty much the dirt under our boots, just not upgraded to complete shit until the Siege. The Lans were that bad because of LXC's unconditional support for JGY, and they were anything close to good at any point of time due to LWJ.
Why Lan Wangji Endures
I breifly touched on this topic before in this post, but I wanted to go more in-depth with it in combination with this post. When Lan Wangji says this:
"...When I went to see him, I told him, ‘Young Master Wei was already in the wrong, why add onto the wrong committed?’ And he said....... He can’t affirm whether what you did was right or wrong. But no matter what, he was willing to shoulder all of the responsibility together with you...."
—Chapt. 99: A Hatred for Life Part 2, boat-full-of-lotus-pods
...he is not making a statement on the morality of either his or Wei Wuxian's actions. In fact, his opinions about the moral righteousness of their actions are separate from his opinions on his clan's (and the greater cultivation world's) meted-out punishments. Why? Because the rules and laws of the cultivation world are now wholly separate from what is moral, and so Lan Wangji has matched Wei Wuxian in cleaving his sense of morality from what is considered acceptable by the status quo. Lan Wangji cannot confirm to Lan Xichen (or the Lan Clan, or the cultivation world as a whole) whether Wei Wuxian was right or wrong because they are not operating under the same understanding of "right and wrong." At the same time, Lan Wangji's (summarized via Lan Xichen's) speech above is not in conversation with his brother but actually in conversation with Wei Wuxian's speech back in Yiling:
There was no such road. No solution existed. Wei WuXian spoke slowly, “Thank you for keeping me company today. Thank you for telling me the news about my shijie’s marriage too. But, let the self judge the right and the wrong, let others decide to praise or to blame, let gains and losses remain uncommented on. I, too, know what I should and shouldn’t do. I believe that I’ll be able to control it as well.” As if he’d anticipated such an attitude since a long time ago, Lan WangJi nodded slightly and closed his eyes. And that marked their farewell.
—Chapt. 75: Distance, exr
Wei Wuxian was put into a dead-end situation where any act of self-defense or defense of innocents was an automatic crime. In the end, he experienced the ultimate consequence of death because his act of self-defense led to the death of an important individual, a death that was seen as "unforgivable" in the eyes of the cultivation world, unlike the deaths of Wei Wuxian and the Wen remnants. Likewise, Lan Wangji's actions in protecting Wei Wuxian against his clan were met with punishment, because even though he had good cause in rescuing the Wen remnants' only protector, going against his clan is "unforgivable" in the eyes of a society ruled by tradition and orthodoxy over morality. This is why Wei Wuxian says that the self must judge the self, and why Lan Wangji is following that creed by enduring the Lan Clan punishment while maintaining an unshakeable belief in Wei Wuxian's righteousness.
It was never about Lan Wangji doubting his or Wei Wuxian's morals. It was never about Lan Wangji putting love above righteousness. It was always about how Lan Wangji so much believed in Wei Wuxian's morality and the righteousness of his actions that he was willing to protect the man when the entire world said he was in the wrong, when his own family stood opposite him. And just like Wei Wuxian eventually accepted the consequences of his actions and used his last moments to attempt to destroy the Stygian Tiger Seal, Lan Wangji, too, endured being whipped 33 times by the discipline whip, then went on to rescue Wen Yuan and raise him and the other Lan disciples with morals so strong that they could transcend the mob mentality that their parents never learned to unsubscribe from. Lan Wangji's steadfastness in the face of the incredible hypocrisy and corruption baked into the system he lived in is why Wei Wuxian is able to resurrect into a world where the new generation can look up to him as a hero and a mentor rather than a scourge and a terror.
This endurance is Lan Wangji's ultimate act of love.
#lwj is the fucking best and everyone should know it#lxc is a good if very misguided and ignorant and oblivious to the point of maleciousness#lwj’s actions saved them another 3 months#which makes me very happy so thank you dor that#the first siege would have succeeded in killing the Wens even if WWX was okay because JC led the siege and bypassed all his protectiond

Sunshine's Guide To Murder│Lee Minho
Chapter Twenty One: It's Over SS: 1 (ignore time stamps and dates) Word Count: 4.1K Content Warnings: Abduction, Talks of murder, talks of keeping someone imprisoned Previous Next Masterlist
Hayun’s eyes flutter open, and she groans, her head throbbing as she pushes herself up. The room is dark, but there’s just enough light to make out the shape of a bed, a small desk, and old posters peeling off concrete walls. Her heart drops when she realizes where she is—Jisung’s grandfather’s bunker, the one they’d used as kids to get high and hide out when the world felt too heavy.
She glances around, her breath catching as memories flood back. The rough, cold walls. The creaky bed. They’d practically lived down here on long summer nights, laughing and pretending they had no responsibilities, no broken parts weighing them down. But that was years ago. Now, it feels eerie, like a time capsule gone wrong.
A quiet voice breaks the silence. "You’re awake."
Hayun jerks her head up, her stomach lurching as a man steps forward into the faint light. She blinks, her eyes adjusting, and her throat tightens as she recognizes him.
"Mr. Han?" Her voice cracks, disbelief laced with dread.
Jisung and Lia’s father, Han Minsun, looks back at her with an odd expression, a mixture of something almost like remorse and something darker. "You always were a bright girl, Hayun," he says softly, his voice carrying an unsettling calm. "Smart enough to get yourself into quite a mess."
Hayun swallows hard, trying to steady herself. "You- you took me off the street?" Her voice is shaking now, incredulous and angry. "What the fuck are you doing?"
Minsun sighs, rubbing a hand over his face as if he’s burdened by some great weight. "I saw the envelope you sent Lia, the one with all that supposed proof of Yuna’s death." He pauses, his gaze piercing. "Recognized that neat little handwriting of yours right away. Clever, signing it with ‘XOXO, Yuna.’”
Hayun stiffens, her stomach churning. "You recognized my handwriting? What, did you go snooping after that?"
Minsun chuckles, but there’s no warmth in it. “Not exactly. I went to the local chapel. Used to meet Yuna there, as you already know.” His eyes flash with something unsettling like he’s reliving an old memory. “Imagine my surprise when that idiot night priest starts talking about a girl dressed as a- what did he say?” He pauses, feigning a thoughtful expression before his eyes glint with distaste. “Ah, right. ‘Slutty nun.’ And with three friends who made him pick me out like some criminal.”
Hayun feels her fists clench, anger bubbling up despite the fear knotting in her stomach. "So you know, then. You know Jisung found out. He knows about you and Yuna. Knows you were fucking your own student."
Minsun’s face tightens, but he nods, barely flinching. "Yes, he knows. But it’s you who knows everything. You’re the only one who knows that I killed her." He steps closer, his voice dropping to a dark whisper. "And that I killed Lee Chaeryeong."
The words hit her like a punch to the gut, her mind spinning. "What? You- You didn’t kill Yuna." She’s stumbling over her words, caught between anger and confusion. "She was alive after you pushed her. I know who killed her, and it wasn’t you-"
Minsun’s eyes narrow, and for a moment, he looks genuinely surprised. "Oh, I know. But she must’ve wandered off, got lost in the woods, something like that. She didn’t make it home."
"No," Hayun says, shaking her head as she processes his confession. "She was alive after that. I know who really killed her." Her voice catches as another piece clicks into place. "Wait, did you just say you killed Chaeryeong?"
Minsun’s gaze sharpens. "You didn’t know?" His brows knit together, a flicker of genuine confusion crossing his face. "I thought you knew everything." He chuckles, low and humourless. "I was planning on killing you because I thought you knew that, and now, well, now I have to kill you because you do know."
The terror spikes in her chest, but she tries to keep her voice steady. "What the fuck are you talking about? You don’t have to kill me-"
Minsun’s expression shifts again, and he starts pacing, muttering to himself in an unsettling, almost detached way. "No, no, I don’t have to kill you, do I? You haven’t really done anything wrong. It’s just complicated, isn’t it?" His voice drops, almost as if he’s talking to himself. "Yes, that’s it. I’ll keep you here. Yes, that way, you won’t tell anyone, and I don’t have to do anything drastic. Yes, I’ll just keep you here."
Hayun’s mind races as Minsun’s confession settles like a stone in her stomach. "Why did you kill Chaeryeong?"
Minsun looks at her, almost bored by the question. “If my affair with Yuna ever got out, I’d have been the prime suspect. Chaeryeong was smart enough to figure that out. She confronted me, kept digging her nose in, asking questions she shouldn’t have. I couldn’t let her ruin everything.” His voice shifts to a matter-of-fact tone, his words chillingly casual. “So I drugged her. Forced her to write the note, made it look like she was coming clean on her ‘guilt.’ Then I staged her suicide.”
Hayun blinks, unable to reconcile the man she’d known most of her life with the monster standing before her. She stares at him, her stomach twisting with horror, but she can’t look away.
Minsun shakes his head as if regretting a small inconvenience, oblivious to the disgust seething in her silence. “I had to do it, Hayun,” he says, almost pleading as if she would somehow understand. “I had children to look after, a family name to uphold. If I went to prison, Jisung and Lia would be left alone, and I couldn’t let that happen. They would’ve been lost.”
He sighs, eyes softening. "But I can’t kill you. I’ve known you since you were that tiny little thing in kindergarten with Jisung." He chuckles, almost fondly, as though she hasn’t just heard him confess to murder. “No, I can’t do that to you. So you’ll stay here until I figure out how to fake your disappearance.”
Hayun’s pulse pounds in her ears, each beat a surge of pure, unfiltered fear. "What? No, you can’t keep me down here!" She steps back, her voice a mixture of panic and anger. “You’re insane if you think I’ll just stay here and play along!”
Minsun steps closer, his face calm, an unsettlingly kind smile tugging at his mouth. “Don’t worry, Hayun. I’ll look after you. Just like I always have.”
Every step forward he takes, she matches with a step back, her eyes scanning the room, desperate for something, anything, she can use to defend herself.
“Mr. Han-” she begins, her voice faltering as he moves in, a cold confidence gleaming in his eyes.
“Oh, what happened to ‘Uncle Minsun’?” he asks, his voice soft and full of twisted nostalgia. “That’s what you used to call me.” He pauses, a mocking glint in his eyes. “It felt warmer, more familiar.”
Hayun’s heart races, her feet sliding backward until her heel hits the edge of the old metal table. She glances down for the briefest moment, her hand brushing the cold edge of a rusty wrench left forgotten on the table from long ago. She wraps her fingers around it, pulling it behind her as Minsun steps closer, his posture calm, confident, but something far darker lying underneath.
“Uncle Minsun-”
Hayun tightens her grip on the wrench, feeling its cold weight in her hand. Without another thought, she swings it hard, the metal cracking against Minsun’s face with a sickening thud. He stumbles back, a strangled yell tearing from his throat as blood gushes from a fresh wound on his brow.
“Fuck!” he screams, clutching his bleeding forehead, eyes wide with shock and rage. But Hayun doesn’t waste a second watching him recover. She bolts toward the ladder, scrambling up the rungs with a frantic speed she didn’t know she possessed. Her hands shake, her heart pounding wildly in her chest as she pushes against the heavy lid at the top of the bunker, finally shoving it open.
She barely hauls herself out before the sounds of Minsun’s ragged breaths and footsteps echo up the ladder, each one faster and louder than the last. She stumbles as she clears the hatch, barely able to catch her balance as her feet hit the ground above. She takes off running across the field, adrenaline fueling each step as her sneakers dig into the muddy earth.
“Hayun!” Minsun’s voice cuts through the night air, raw and desperate, the sound filled with a twisted frustration. “I’m not going to hurt you!”
But she doesn’t look back; she doesn’t even consider it. She pushes forward, her breath tearing from her in sharp, panicked gasps, her lungs burning with each inhale. The field stretches out in front of her like an endless expanse, the dim light from the farmhouse a distant beacon guiding her toward some semblance of safety.
“Stop running!” Minsun calls, his voice closer than she wants it to be, his footsteps heavy as he barrels after her. The absurdity of his words nearly makes her laugh, but fear tightens its grip around her chest, strangling any response she might have had.
All she can do is keep running, eyes fixed on the farmhouse ahead, the faint outline of the main road just beyond. Her legs ache, and every muscle screams in protest, but she refuses to slow down. The farmhouse is close. So close she can almost feel the rough wood of the door under her fingers, the promise of escape just steps away.
“Hayun!” Minsun’s voice cracks, and she risks a glance over her shoulder, just a split second to gauge the distance. He’s still chasing her, blood streaking down his face, his hand pressed against his head to stem the flow. His expression is a twisted mask of anger and desperation, his eyes wild as he tries to keep up with her sprint across the field.
Minho and Chan park the cars, gravel crunching beneath the tyres as everyone piles out, their faces tense and unreadable in the afternoon light. The farmhouse looms in the distance, worn and familiar, but today it feels darker like the place is harbouring secrets none of them are ready to face.
Jisung points across the fields, his voice barely steady. “Lia would’ve taken her to the bunker. It’s out there, behind the farmhouse. My grandpa, he was a total tinfoil hat man, thought World War Three was around the corner every time he heard a car coming down the road.”
The group moves in tight formation, skirting the farmhouse as they follow Jisung’s lead. Minho spots something glinting in the grass and bends down, fingers closing around a fake pearl-encrusted hair clip, smudged with dirt. His jaw tightens.
“This is Hayun’s.” The words are ground out through clenched teeth, each syllable dripping with rage. He turns the clip over in his fingers as if he can wring answers from it.
A sudden cry of pain echoes from somewhere ahead, slicing through the air and freezing everyone in their tracks. Without a word, they break into a sprint. Seungmin gestures frantically, “There! Look—”
Up ahead, they see Minsun, blood streaked across his face, dragging Hayun by her legs across the field. Her dress is torn, caked in dirt, and her hands claw desperately at the grass, leaving deep, frenzied grooves in the earth.
“Let me go, you murderer!” Hayun’s voice is hoarse, shaking with fury and terror. “You killed an innocent girl!”
Minsun’s reply is cold, dismissive. “Lee Chaeryeong was not innocent.”
Minho skids to a halt, his breath catching as the words sink in. The admission lands like a punch, his vision tunneling as he stares, unable to fully process the horror unfolding in front of him.
Jisung staggers back, eyes wide with shock, his face going pale. “No… no…” His stomach heaves, and he doubles over, retching into the grass as Hyunjin moves to his side, one hand on his back, holding him steady even as Jisung’s world shatters.
The rest of them charge forward. Felix reaches Minsun first, fury blazing in his eyes as he closes the distance. Jeongin glances at Minho, voice tight with restraint. “Let Felix handle it. Dude’s got twelve years of Taekwondo and a hell of a lot of pent-up rage.”
Minho doesn’t budge, fists clenched as he glares at Minsun. “That piece of shit killed my sister.”
Jeongin grabs his shoulder, grounding him. “Killing him won’t bring her back, Minho. It’ll just get you locked up right alongside him.”
As Minsun drags Hayun closer to the bunker’s entrance, Felix intercepts, wrenching Minsun’s grip off her and shoving him backward. Hayun scrambles away, pulling herself to her feet, her breaths coming in short, sharp gasps. Felix’s fury is volcanic as he swings a fist, connecting squarely with Minsun’s jaw, sending him sprawling to the ground.
Jisung collapses back into the grass, shaking with sobs as he watches the scene unfold, the betrayal ripping him apart. He digs his fists into the dirt, trembling uncontrollably, and Hyunjin crouches down, keeping a steady hand on his shoulder.
“Breathe, Ji,” Hyunjin murmurs softly, trying to calm him. “We’re here. It’s okay. Just breathe.”
Jisung’s voice is raw, broken. “My dad… he… my family... they’re all monsters. How could they—how could he—” He chokes on his words, burying his face in his hands as he crumbles under the weight of the truth.
Meanwhile, Chan crouches beside Hayun, assessing the scrapes and bruises on her arms and legs. She winces as he tilts her head to the side, examining a cut near her cheekbone, worry creasing his brow.
“You alright?” he asks, voice gentle but tinged with anger.
Hayun’s voice is a shaky whisper. “I… I think so.”
Seungmin quickly shrugs off his jacket, draping it over her shoulders to cover her torn dress. She pulls it close, clutching the fabric as if it’s the only thing keeping her grounded.
Felix has Minsun pinned to the ground now, his fists bruised and knuckles raw, as he holds Minsun down with a strength fueled by rage. Minho steps forward, the barely contained fury in his voice cutting through the chaos. “Why did you kill my sister?”
Minsun’s face is streaked with blood and sweat as he looks up, desperation in his eyes. “I… I had to! I thought I’d killed Yuna, but Hayun. She said I didn’t. I panicked.” He looks over at Jisung, a sick, desperate look in his eyes. “But I wasn’t going to hurt Hayun! I was just going to keep her there, in the bunker, keep her quiet.”
Jisung pulls himself to his feet, leaning on Hyunjin for support as he looks down at his father with disgust and disbelief. The betrayal is etched deeply into every line of his face, his eyes red-rimmed and glassy.
“I’m sorry!” Minsun’s voice breaks, pleading. “I’m sorry!”
Felix sneers down at him, pressing his knee harder into Minsun’s back. “Save it for the police. You and Lia can have a nice long chat from opposite sides of the penitentiary.”
Minsun’s eyes widen with fresh horror. “Lia… Lia’s going to prison?”
Jisung steps forward, wiping the tears from his face as he glares down at his father, voice trembling with anger. “Yes. She helped a rapist, and you murdered an innocent woman. You’re both going to pay for everything you did.”
Minsun stares up at him, broken and bloodied, the weight of his crimes finally pressing down on him like a death sentence. He looks between Jisung, Hyunjin, and Minho, his face twisted with desperation and terror as the reality sinks in.
Jisung stumbles over to Hayun, his face pale and blotched, and then, as if his legs just give out, he drops to his knees in front of her, broken and lost. His eyes are red-rimmed, tears already streaming down his face as he reaches for her hand, clutching it tightly as if she’s his lifeline.
“I’m… I’m so sorry, Yunnie,” he chokes out, voice thick with guilt and pain. “My family—they’ve… they’ve done so much to hurt you. Lia… Mingi… and now… now my dad…” His voice cracks, and he bows his head, letting his forehead rest on her hand as the words tumble out of him, shattered and raw. “I swear, I… I never wanted this for you. I never thought…”
Hayun looks down at him, her own face blank, as though she’s watching this scene unfold from somewhere far away. Slowly, she places her hand on the top of his head, her touch gentle, almost as if trying to soothe him. Her eyes remain distant, her thumb barely brushing against his hair in a quiet comfort that seems automatic rather than intentional.
Changbin approaches cautiously, glancing over at the others. “Uh… is she okay?”
Jeongin shoots him a look, eyebrows furrowing in exasperation. “She was just abducted by Jisung’s father, you idiot! Of course she’s not okay, pabo!”
At that, Minho’s gaze snaps away from Minsun. He turns to look at Hayun, his expression softening when he sees her vacant stare, as though she’s been hollowed out by everything that’s just happened. With a resolve that is almost feral, he steps away from Minsun and heads over to her, gently prying her hand off Jisung’s head and pulling her away.
Chan, Changbin, Hyunjin, and Jeongin gather around Jisung, grounding him as he breaks down, his friends becoming a wall between him and the man who tore their lives apart. Meanwhile, Minho wraps his arms around Hayun, leading her to a quieter part of the field, his hand steady on her shoulder.
Once they’re alone, he tilts her face up to his, pressing his forehead against hers, eyes closed as he tries to bring her back to the moment, back to him. “Come back to your mind now, princess,” he whispers softly, his voice a steady anchor in the storm. “Back to reality, okay? Come back to me”
Hayun’s eyes close, and a single tear slips down her cheek. Minho catches it with his thumb, brushing it away gently, his own face etched with worry. She takes a shaky breath, and he holds her a little closer.
“You know,” he says, his voice low, with a soft humor that’s meant to comfort, “I’ve never met a girl who gives me as many damn coronaries as you.”
A faint smile tugs at her lips, and he nods, catching the flicker of life that returns to her eyes. “There she is,” he murmurs, relief coloring his tone. “I’ve got you, princess.”
Hayun nods slightly, leaning into him, her voice barely above a whisper. “He didn’t hurt me,” she says, almost as if trying to convince herself. “I’m okay.”
Minho nods, brushing his fingers through her hair. “Okay,” he says simply, accepting her words without question. She takes a steadying breath, and her gaze flicks over his shoulder toward Jisung, still crumpled on the ground.
“Jisung…” Her voice is quiet, filled with worry, but Minho cuts her off, his tone gentle but firm.
“No, sweetheart. Right now, you need to focus on yourself,” he says, guiding her face back to him, making sure she’s looking into his eyes. “You don’t have to hold everyone else together. Not today. Just focus on you, okay?”
She bites her lip, a hint of a nod, and Minho pulls her into his arms, holding her close, feeling her start to let go just a little, her weight leaning into him. The world around them might be chaotic, but for a moment, it’s just the two of them, breathing in sync, drawing strength from each other’s presence.
The police arrive at the farmhouse, a swarm of uniforms and flashing lights, and soon they’re guiding everyone one by one to take statements. Minsun is handcuffed, his face a mix of exhaustion and resignation, and as he’s led toward the squad car, a detective approaches Minho and Hayun.
“We’ll investigate Mr. Han’s confession regarding Chaeryeong’s murder,” the detective says, voice flat but tinged with something akin to grim satisfaction. “We’ll be in touch once we’ve gone through everything.”
Minho nods, though his jaw is tight, and his eyes don’t leave Minsun as he’s shoved into the police car. There’s a collective exhale from the group, relief mixed with disbelief at what they’d just witnessed.
Once the police have finished taking statements and the cars start pulling away, Hayun clears her throat, catching everyone’s attention. “There’s somewhere we need to go,” she says, her voice steady but laced with a hint of mystery.
They all look at her, puzzled, but they pile into the cars, the adrenaline still coursing through their veins. Minho starts his car, glancing at her in the passenger seat as she stares straight ahead, her eyes set with determination.
“Where to?” he asks, though he seems to already sense her answer.
“Mingi’s apartment,” Hayun replies, her lips curving into a smirk that surprises him. There’s something new in her expression—calculated, even a little wicked.
In the backseat, Felix glances up, raising a brow. “Wait, why are we going to Mingi’s place?” His voice is curious but cautious.
“You’ll see.”
Minho exchanges a quick glance with her as he turns the ignition, his eyes catching the glint of something fierce in hers. He seems to understand, even without her saying a word, and with a sharp nod, he pulls out of the gravel driveway, followed closely by Chan’s car behind them.
The drive is tense, the weight of what’s just happened pressing down on all of them. Felix shifts in his seat, looking back and forth between Minho and Hayun. “I feel like I’m missing something big here,” he mutters, tapping his fingers nervously against his knee.
“Just wait,” Hayun says, her tone amused yet serious. She turns to look out the window, her fingers drumming rhythmically on her thigh.
As they stand outside Mingi’s apartment, everyone’s eyes are fixed on the doorway, watching as officers escort him out in cuffs. The entire group is silent, tension crackling in the air, as Mingi’s eyes search the gathered faces. His gaze lands on Hayun, her dirt-streaked skin and the cut on her cheek, with Minho, Jisung, and the rest of their friends standing protectively around her like a wall. A flash of recognition crosses Mingi's face, his features twisting into a sneer as he struggles against the officer’s hold.
“I’ll fucking kill you, Jang Hayun!” he yells, his voice rough and unhinged. “Mark my fucking words! I know you framed me for Yuna’s murder, you conniving bitch!”
Hayun’s face remains impassive, but her fingers tighten ever so slightly at her sides. Minho stands close, his body language daring Mingi to make another move, but it’s the officer who gives Mingi a hard shove forward.
“Keep moving,” the officer snaps, voice cold with authority. “You’re not just facing a murder charge, so watch it, you disgusting rapist.”
Mingi’s sneer fades, replaced by a flare of fear, as he’s forced toward the police car. His eyes keep darting back to Hayun, still held between fury and something darker.
Hayun’s eyes drift over to Ryujin and Yeji, who are leaning against the opposite wall, watching the scene from a distance with a kind of detached amusement. Ryujin, cigarette in hand, raises it in a lazy toast toward Hayun, her lips curling into a smirk, while Yeji winks, expression smugly satisfied. There’s no guilt in their eyes. Just a dark, shared triumph.
Minho follows her gaze, watching the silent exchange, noting the look on Hayun’s face as she regards Ryujin and Yeji. He glances back at Mingi being shoved into the squad car and back to Hayun but says nothing, simply resting a hand on her shoulder.
The car door slams, muffling Mingi’s threats, and the crowd begins to thin. Jisung shakes his head, a mix of disbelief and shock flickering across his face. “I can’t believe he killed Yuna,” he mutters, running a hand through his hair. “If he’s claiming he’s been framed, that means they found evidence that he actually did it, right?”
Chan nods slowly, eyes trained on the departing police car. “I assume so, I mean the officer said he's facing a murder charge, they can't slap that on someone without proof, solid proof"
Felix exhales, his jaw set as he watches the car pull away. “Good fucking riddance.”
Minho’s gaze lands on Hayun, who’s staring at the scene with an unreadable expression, her face blank, as if every ounce of emotion has been sealed behind an invisible wall. He shifts his gaze between her, then Ryujin and Yeji, catching the subtle satisfaction on their faces. He’s sharp enough to connect the dots, but he doesn’t voice his suspicions. Instead, he tightens his hand on her shoulder, a silent gesture of reassurance.
Hayun’s eyes don’t leave the police car, even as it rounds the corner and vanishes from sight. Her voice, quiet and steady, finally breaks the silence. “It’s over.”

---
She and Jack met through Luke. She and his brother had been friends since college because they’ve been hanging out in the same group of people. After she moved to New York, she and Luke have been hanging out a lot. One night, she was at his place when Jack came back home. When he saw her, he was starstruck. He never saw that beautiful woman like her.
After three dates, she and Jack became a couple. Luke was so happy that his brother finally found someone so similar to him. He was confident that his brother had never been this cheerful like he was with her. Although he was third wheeling them, he was delighted for their happiness. When Jack suffered an injury it was the moment when all things in their relationship went wrong.
When you said you were leaving
To work on your mental health
You didn’t mention the cheating
Jack picked up an injury in January. She was trying to be there for him as much as she could with her work schedule, but he was taking his anger out on her. Often, he was just saying sassy comments to everything she asked him. She was tired of him throwing tantrums but tried to understand him. She knew how much hockey means to him and how much it must hurt him not to be able to play, especially when Luke was all the time training and playing.
After a month, Jack was back on the ice but his attitude hadn't changed. Still, he was snippy towards her. She felt like he was blaming her for his injury. They were arguing over it and she was always in a lost position when he started screaming at her. Neither of them wanted to break up but they knew something must change so they can be happy again.
Jack told her that he needs a break. He didn’t want to end things with her but he needed a space to figure things out. She agreed knowing that their relationship was based on screaming, crying and guilt in the past two months. This was the moment when he cheated on her. The minute he felt free, when technically they still have been dating, he started sleeping with other women.
I got so mad, was gonna
Cuss you out outside your house
She learnt about his cheating in the most cruel way - through social media. One day, she was scrolling through her twitter and she saw a picture of Jack kissing another woman. She didn’t know how to react. She was heartbroken. He was her first real love and she truly believed that they make things work while being on a break. This killed a piece of her heart.
She really wanted to take revenge on Jack. She was close to going to New Jersey just to scream at him in front of his apartment. She wanted to slap him, do the worst to him so he could feel how she’s feeling but she knew she’s better than him. She simply wrote him a message saying that they are done and he should never contact her again.
Jack was confused and asked her what her problem was. Yes, he was cheating on her but he thought he’s sneaky enough so she wouldn't notice this. When she sent him a picture of him kissing another woman, he realised that he wasn’t. He hasn't answered her. He just accepted that he’s single again. His friends were asking him what happened but he said that they realised they are not made for each other.
I could have cried a home
And spent the night alone
Right after her short conversation with Jack, she broke down in tears. She felt like her whole world just fell apart. She wrote on group chat with her girl friends that he cheated on her and she ended things with him. All she wanted to do was to cry and lay in her living room while watching sad movies under blanket. That’s what she did. She came back home and dressed up in comfortable clothes.
This was painful for her because half of her wardrobe were his shirts and hoodies. She decided to throw them in the box and give it to Luke when she got the chance to see him. After she found something that’s actually hers, she went and turned on Edward Scissorhands. This movie always made her cry. Around 7PM, she heard knocking.
What she did not expect was all her friends in front of her door. They’ve been holding bottles of wine and food from her favorite place. When they came in, one of her friends put on some music and they had a little party in her apartment. They knew how much she loved Jack and wanted to make her forget about him.
Tell all your friends
How cruel you were to me
When she and Jack broke up, she cut her ties with all his team, even Luke. She really wanted to stay around him but she was seeing him as her ex. After a month, she got better. She felt like she moved oun and was ready to talk with Luke. He was surprised when she invited him to her place but gladly accepted it.
Luke came and the first thing to do was to ask her why she broke up with his brother. She wanted to scream that it’s all Jack’s fault. That he ruined their relationship. That she was always for him but he just treated her like a servant during his injury. That he wanted a break and the first thing he had done was to cheat on her. She really wanted that but she swallowed her pride and simply said that it wasn't it.
Luke felt that she's lying. He knew her well enough to read it but he also saw her watery eyes after he asked the question, so he decided not to dig into it. He accepted this answer but still was curious about what went wrong. He was how Jack was happy with her and how she was happy with Jack. They spent the night catching up with their lives.
When Luke was ready to get back to his apartment, she gave him the box with Jack’ things. After he returned to his and his brother’ place, he threw the box at him. Jack was taken aback but before he could say anything, Luke asked him what really happened that they broke up. Jack never saw his brother so furious so he decided to tell him that he cheated on her. Luke listened to him and went to his room to call her and apologise for his dumb brother.
Me and my girls are out
And we all sing along
Three months after she and Jack broke up, she returned to Michigan. She was hanging out with all her girl friends from college. One night, they decided to go to a club and have fun. She was skeptical but agreed. She knew she deserves to finally move on and search for someone new. They were getting ready and drinking wine while doing it.
When all of them finally arrived at the club, they went to order drinks. She was partying like there’s no tomorrow. That was her first party since she broke up with Jack. In the middle of the night, she saw familiar blue eyes in the crowd. She realised that it’s her ex-boyfriend partying with his friends that she never had a chance to meet.
She said this to her girls pleading them to leave but they told her that Jack is a past and she deserves to have a fun night. They dragged her to the dance floor when their song started playing. She was singing all her heart and laughing at the same time. She acted like only her and her friends were in the club.
She didn’t know that Jack also noticed her. He couldn’t stop watching her and how she was having fun out there. After conversation with Luke, he realised how badly he fucked up and how much she meant to him. Seeing her all free like that made him happy. He wanted to go and apologise to her but he knew he would do more harm to her. For the rest of the night, he was watching her having fun and imagining that it was him with her, not her friends.

susanwhynow replied to your post “David Tennant and Alex Hassell in a new ad for…”
yes! that suit and jacket look so massive on him. not a good fit at all. really strange. We now that he kills in a well tailored suit. what went wrong here?
@susanwhynow Exactly what I am wondering. And this is what kills me a little, because we know that David is an incredibly attractive man. We know he has modeled many times previously for other fashion lines/served as a muse for Joshua Kane in most recent memory. Yet the JK suits and the ones from Mithridate were impeccably tailored compared to what we are seeing in the Burberry ad:
I do fully understand that the Burberry ad is meant to be a tie-in/promo for Rivals, which is why the suit is something of a more 1980s style (and/or possible reflection of current men's suit trends, which @daziechane has explained to me are now leaning toward "David Byrne bigger, but less boxy"). But we know David looks unbelievably good in pinstripes...and yet nothing about the styling of this outfit is serving him as well as it could be.
While I am by no means an expert in fashion or advertising, what I think it comes down to is that I've always thought it's about making style effortless. That the clothes should look good because of the person wearing them, rather than the other way around. As if you would see David wearing this all the time because it comes so naturally to him. I'd say that Alex accomplishes that here, because his outfit's tailoring is slightly better and looks like his style.
But that is not the case with David, and what happens is that he looks like he is wearing a costume instead of a normal outfit. It actually gives me the same vibes as when he first played Ten and was wearing Nine (Christopher Eccleston)'s outfit:
I'm not entirely sure that's quite what the Burberry people were going for (or the Rivals people, for that matter), but that is how it looks to me. You would think even slightly more thought would have gone into the styling for a clothing ad campaign--and into dressing a man like David, who is almost impossible to make look bad--but...so it goes...
#susanwhynow#reply post#david tennant#soft scottish hipster gigolo#burberry#rivals#the lapels on the Burberry suit are just swallowing him unfortunately#and not in the fun life affirming kind of way#choices#not all of them good#it's also not like David and Alex aren't hot together#but i just see so many missed opportunities here#tartan is stylish#thoughts#discourse

I gotta disagree with a lot of this. I don't think fans are wrong for wanting more interiority, but i think the original post is overlooking what character-centric stuff we've gotten, and is asking for things out of line with who the characters are.
Like Heimerdinger. Has always been a bit detached from the present day and from people's current suffering. It's not surprising to me at all that he's just focusing on scientific questions.
Regarding Ekko - We know that people aren't generally aware that Jinx killed Silco because Smeech was surprised to find out. We also know how he feels about how things are progressing from his conversation with his bat-guy friend.
As I'm going back through the original post, I'm seeing a number of questions that I think viewers can absolutely assume need time to develop. And also a lot of questions about how characters feel about Heimerdinger which. Isn't that important imo.
And Jayce - the dude is freaking exhausted. He's sleeping in his lab. When Viktor wakes up, Jayce has survived a rocket attack, witnessed the deaths of his colleagues, been attacked and almost killed with a chainsaw. Now his best friend is miraculously awake. A guy can only deal with so much at once, (and a scene can only deal with so much at once while still remaining coherent). Jayce ends that scene, not with rational questions about what's going on, but with an emotional outburst. He's overwhelmed. Of course he's not going to do great processing new information. That's good characterization.
And later, considering what Jayce is going through and how his mind is clearly on other things, I think him being like "sure this may as well happen" when Heimerdinger shows up both makes sense and serves to reinforce his current emotional state.
And I think the op is being really unfair regarding Vi. First, I don't think it was ever made explicit that Jinx firing on the council was an act of revenge. In context, I would call it an act of chaos and despair, actually. I'm pretty confident that we'll get Vi's opinion on an uprising when one actually happens, which it hasn't yet.
The stuff about Vi joining the enforcers because Maddie gassed her up is factually untrue. The point of that scene was primarily to let Vi know about the effort that Caitlyn went through to get her the badge, which you can tell from Vi's reactions. She doesn't show any particular friendliness towards Maddie at all. And I think it's pretty obvious that Rene's attack and Caitlyn's response to it were the prime movers to get Vi to join the enforcers. Seeing as that happened immediately before. The stakes were raised with the attack, creating the sense that something had to be done. And Vi promised Caitlyn that she wouldn't let things fall apart - she's entering caretaker mode regarding Caitlyn, the same role that she's used to playing with Powder. Very interesting characterization imo. (Also not healthy, but why should caitvi be healthy anyways? This is a drama).
Regarding Vi and Jinx in general - throughout the entire first act, Vi is convincing herself that her sister is gone. That's how she's processing all of this. She's separating Powder from Jinx. Jinx is the monster that killed her sister, Vi says that explicitly. And the random kid intervening is more than a random kid intervening, she's a reminder that Jinx is still capable of loving and being loved.
I mean, obviously fans can have criticisms, etc. Are there some things that are clumsy, or info-dump-ish? Sure. But you can't ignore nuance and then say there's no nuance.
Character writing in Arcane Season 2: Act 1
I have big issues with the quality of dialogue and characterization so far in Act 1. Characters and conversations have almost zero depth. Examples:
Heimerdinger - Does he know about the Council attack? How does he feel about it? Is he relieved he was voted out beforehand? Does he feel responsible for the attack, in that if he had taken action sooner, Zaun would not have been driven to this level of violence? Does he feel guilty for the deaths of his colleagues? Viktor was almost killed by the attack but got saved by the very Hexcore Heimerdinger hated. What's his reaction to that??
Lol who cares? Let's do goofy Disney channel hijinks by sneaking into a lab with Ekko. He meets Jayce there. Does he express his concern or relief that his former student just survived a Hextech explosion unscathed? Nope!!! Wacky humour time!!!
Ekko - Does Ekko know Jinx killed Silco? If yes, how does he feel about that? Is he shocked? Confused? If he doesn't know, what does he think happened to Silco? What do Zaunites like him make of Silco's death if Jinx got rid of his body? How does he feel about the Council attack? Does he support it or does he think Jinx went too far? Is he on the fence?
Lol who cares? We don't need to know any of this. Let Ekko have goofy scenes with Heimerdinger. Speaking of Heimer, what the fuck is Ekko's opinion on Heimerdinger's criminal negligence of the Undercity for the past two fucking centuries? Because he sure warmed up to that hairball quick. This is an issue that started in Season 1 Episode 8, but I had hopes they would address it in Season 2. I guess not.
Jayce - How does Jayce feel about seeing Heimerdinger again, when their last meeting was Jayce betraying him? We know he felt guilty about it in Season 1 so why was there no inkling of it during their meeting in the lab? Why doesn't Jayce tell Heimer that the Hexcore saved Viktor? The Hexcore having the potential to save Viktor's life was a huge point of contention for them in Season 1 and was partially the reason for Jayce's betrayal, but neither of them mention it. Lol. Viktor wakes up and tells him that Sky was killed by the Hexcore in their lab. Jayce: "Oh no! Anyway..." ?????? No questions as to how and when this happened? No questions as to where Sky's body is? You just learned your employee was fucking killed in your lab a few days ago and this is your reaction?
Vi - How does Vi feel about the fact that the tyrants who killed her parents are dead by Jinx's hand? She herself wanted to take revenge on the Council in the past, so how does she feel now that her little sister's the one who did it? When Caitlyn yaps about avenging her mother's death by killing Jinx, does Vi realize that Jinx's attack was in itself vengeance for their parents' deaths on the bridge? Which were sanctioned by the Council? Will she ever bring this up to Caitlyn? Probably not. What exactly is Vi's opinion on a Zaunite uprising against topside? Does she no longer think it's the right way to go about things?
What does she think happened to Ekko? The last time she saw him, he was fighting Jinx to the death. He could be dead for all she knows. And she doesn't even think about or mention him once. Seems like she doesn't give a shit about Little Man lol. Did the writers forget they are childhood friends?
What eventually drives her to join the enforcers? Could it be concern for her sister, that she somehow thinks the badge would allow her more say in advocating for lesser sentencing? Could it be ideology, that she genuinely believes stricter policing of the Undercity is the way to prevent more Silcos? Lol nope! She's convinced by some rando giving her an ego boost about how Kewl and Badazz she was attacking the factory of child labourers. (A+ manipulation by Caitlyn by the way. What a wholesome and healthy romance Caitvi is turning out to be!)
What causes the rift between Vi and Caitlyn? Could it be Vi's love for Jinx, because as much she tries to convince herself her sister is dead and that Jinx is a different person, deep down she knows that Jinx is still her sister and for all Vi's bluster and rage, she can't bear to see Jinx actually die when push comes to shove? Lol nope!!! She's actually totally okay with a fucking enforcer killing her fucking sister, the exact thing that orphaned them both. Vi only draws the line when a random kid intervenes, after which Caitlyn proceeds to domestically abuse Vi and leave her crying on the floor without looking back.
There is so much detail and nuance missing. This is why almost every scene and conversation feels so empty. Every conversation is comically rushed and not allowed to breathe. The characters' superficial personality traits are there for the most part, but their underlying motivations, feelings, opinions, and desires are completely neglected to fulfill whatever the plot demands them to do.
#arcane#wankity wank#also cait's dark turn is incredibly interesting idk why it's being treated like a bad thing#like op is doing the 'why are characters in extremely demanding situations not reacting in a linear or logical way' thing

Lucanis Romance
Spoilers so please don't read unless you've finished the game
Lucanis was always going to be my first romance and he was the reason I went from my initial choice of Shadow Dragon to becoming a Crow and I wasn't disappointed.
But the reason I'm writing this review is because again people are moaning about how "little or poorly done" his romance was.
So a few points I'd like to point out are as follows;
Firstly people can have their opinions but I would like to remind everyone that his talented writer was fired and then rewrites were done for the game so who knows what got changed last minute for his character.
Secondly, he has been imprisoned for an entire year, been tortured and possessed, essentially having his mind broken because he didn't want to submit.
Thirdly his city is on the very edge of being destroyed.
And lastly Rook tells him they were sent by his grandmother who he loves dearly only to find upon his return that shes dead. He can also see that there's something wrong with Illario someone he sees more of a brother but is fighting him every chance he gets in order to point him in the opposite direction lest he realises he's the traitor.
With his grandmother's death it leaves the uncertainty of who gets first Talon as its a position he never wanted thus making the Crows weak as there's no clear leadership.
So please forgive him for not jumping into Rooks bed straight away.
His romance is very slow and after the first 2 or 3 flirty prompts I got I did wonder if I went wrong because he was giving me nothing back.
Until we got to that scene in the pantry where he says she deserves better than his mess 🥵
Jumping towards the end of the game for a second he says that he wanted her but was too afraid to want her and it's clear when you express your interests in the previous scene he likes you, also if you visit him after he does trip over his words and says he wants, but can't.
His body language, the way he smiles, the voice, the animation of him looking at your lips when you touch his chest is just perfection only to pull away at the last second to clear his head because again he's traumatised and hasn't dealt with his inner demon, the self doubt and torture that swirls around his head.
Then we get to the heart of his personal quest, when the body of Zara reveals she was Illarios lover and it was his greed for First talon that lead him to be captured and aswell as his grandmother's 'death'.
Let's not forget he's also by this point nearly tried to kill Illario for getting in the way so again fears losing control and likely hurting Rook.
Moving onto possibly my favourite companion quest of the game we end up in the fade, inside Lucanis' mind with Spite. It's simply tragic how tortured he is inside his mind, the way he sees himself through the eyes of another especially his grandmother is so sad.
Illario is the antoganiser in his head, cruelly bringing up the history of the Dellemortes family and the massacre that wiped all but 3 people. By saying Lucanis will kill his family for a job he doesn't want just twists the situation to make it feel that Lucanis has always been tainted and that the Demon was already inside him but Rook just denys this by saying he's a professional assassin, that he's basically not a mindless killer and knows the real enemy, that his loved ones won't be hurt only the one responsible and that when he needs to do it she'll be there for him.
The romance prompt that comes after shows how vulnerable he is around her, asking her to leave him there so he doesn't risk losing her and then she basically mentions what I've written so far, about his fear of moving forward as an abominantion and hurting his family is worse than any of the torture and pain he went through; so again people just need to realise this man is so messed up and protective to the few people he has left in his life and doesn't want to hurt the one person desperately trying to help him.
After you make the decision on stopping Illario or saving Caterina where Spite and Lucanis agree to work together you get that wonderful awkward moment where the two of them are just standing silently infront of Viago and Teia which is hilarious if you play as a crow because I imagine Viago is tired of Rooks weird shit by this point 😂
I like the fact that she doesn't speak of Spite or Lucanis' fears, that what they've just experienced is for them only.
Their commitment scene is really sweet but I wish it had like an extra scene where they're sat at the dinner table and the other companions could see something had shifted between them, that they tease about feeling the love in the hazelnut tarte making the two of them bashful, you know just something a little extra but it's not the end of the world left as it is.
When they eventually crash Illarios party and find Caterina all of his fears are put to rest where she excitedly greets him, even going so far as to kiss his cheeks showing how much she loves and missed him.
When the fight occurs and he embraces Spite fully and fights off Illarios hold there's such a proud moment when you're watching him, because he has his grandmother back, Rook at his side and the Crow houses watching on as Illarios lies are exposed.
During the fight when Illario fights Rook he tells her she's chosen the wrong Dellemorte and if he does hit her Lucanis tells him he's going to pay, it's just the simple things like this that make me love Dragon age games.
When the fight is over and he asks if they should make an early exit and return home i was expecting a first kiss as it just seemed right with him saying he'll stay for her and put off the crows as long as he possibly can.
I definitely think he has one of the stronger romances towards the end of the game, when he says he'll kill every blighted creature and the gods that stand in her way and she says that she won't be thinking of that all day just made me smile.
Their actual sex scene is beautifully done too, the fact he kneels for her, the animation and responses are great, even the humorous option is really good and there's no doubt how much he loves her.
I think what people have to remember is he's terrified of losing control which is why he hides away in the pantry, he nearly kills Illario in a fit of rage and just can't face hurting Rook which is why after the near kiss he says he wants her but can't.
It's been confirmed that Spite is obsessed with Rook so you can only imagine the inner battle and what he says about Rook on a daily basis, also the fact he can't control the wings of Spite so having them during their sex scene just shows how much she means to both of them.
I am gutted about the recent art released and that we missed out on the kiss in the rain, the gondola and sex scene in the pool but this is why fanciction exists.
I think his VA did a wonderful job and he's definitely my favourite and most interesting companion.
*I'm not going to comment on his other romance because saying anything negative about her triggers people which is just insane, I don't care that characters pair off and I don't find their banter particularly flirty but it should of happened once Rook hadn't committed to either of them just like Fenris and Isabella did which wouldn't have annoyed so many people, but that's an easy fix. Just don't bring them along together 😂*

—Real sweet, but I wish you were sober.
Pairing: Dean Winchester x hunter!fem!reader
Summary: One too many drinks led him to confess his feelings for you. You loved him, but you knew it was just words that he didn't mean, right?
Content: angst, unrequited love, drunk confession, alcohol/Dean getting drunk, English is not my first language, sorry if there are mistakes
Word count: 722
You helped Dean back to the motel room, his arm heavy around your shoulders as he stumbled, his steps uncertain. His head lolled to the side, eyes half-closed, but he muttered something about being "fine," even when he felt like a deadweight against you.
His breath was warm against your neck, laced with whiskey. For all the times you had watched him take down monsters without breaking a sweat, he seemed so vulnerable now, trusting you to get him safely to the bed.
You lowered him onto the bed, his hand catching yours, holding it a moment longer than necessary before he let go. His eyes found yours, softer than you had ever seen. You told yourself that it was just the alcohol that had him looking at you like that, like he saw something more than just a hunting partner.
"Y'know..." Dean mumbled, his words slurred and quiet, as if he was speaking to himself. "Sometimes... sometimes I think about things, you know?"
You sat beside him, keeping a slight distance, even though it nearly killed you to. "Yeah?"
His gaze settled on you, and even in his state, it felt almost too intense. "I think about how much easier this would be... if I had someone," he muttered, as though this was something he'd been carrying around for a long time. "Like... someone who's already here."
You kept your silence, hoping that he'd just drop it and let it be, but his brows furrowed, his drunken gaze coming to a startling clarity.
"You… you love me, don't you?" he asked, voice soft and a little unsteady.
Your throat tightened, and you forced yourself to look away, to hide behind a wall of sarcasm like you always did. "You're drunk, Dean. Get some sleep."
But he wouldn't let it go. He reached for your hand again, pulling you closer, his grip unexpectedly strong.
"No," he insisted, voice thick but more sure. "No, I know I'm drunk, but that doesn't mean I'm wrong. I've… I've known it, but I didn't want to see it, didn't want to let myself…" He trailed off. He moved until his face was just inches away from yours, his voice breaking gently. "But I love you too."
You looked away, holding your breath as the words sank in, leaving a raw ache in your chest. You wanted to believe him, wanted so badly for it to be real—you'd imagined this moment so many times, but now that it was here, it felt hollow. Because you knew it was just the whiskey talking.
"Dean," you whispered, pulling your hand back slowly. "You're not gonna remember this tomorrow. Let's just… let's just pretend it didn't happen, okay?"
But he shook his head, his hand went to caress the side of your face, his thumb brushing your cheek in a way that made your heart ache. "No— no, I'm not pretending," his voice was hoarse, his words barely audible, but each one hit harder than the last.
"I mean it. And I'm sorry I couldn't say it sooner." He pulled your hand close to his chest, his eyes glistening with tears as they met yours, a small, tired smile playing on his lips. "But I do..."
"I love you."
The words fell softly from him, the look in his eyes told you that he was genuine, that he meant it, yet clouded by the whiskey swirling through him. And that was what stung the most. You wanted to tell him that you loved him back, for so, so long, that you wanted to hold him and never let go, but you knew he won't remember any of this in the morning.
"Okay... I know. I know you love me." your breath was shaky, cupping his face in your hands. His eyes looked into yours, and it was as if you were everything to him.
"Go to sleep now, okay? You'll feel better in the morning." you whispered, your voice so quiet it was almost breaking.
He gave you a soft smile, pressing a kiss to the palm of your hand before laying back down, resting his head on the pillow. His eyes slipped shut, and he fell asleep.
As you brushed a gentle hand over his hair, you whispered back.
"I love you too, Dean. More than you'll ever know."

People are hating Taryn for the wrong reasons
I’m lowkey a Taryn defender but only to a certain level: She shouldn’t be hated on for agreeing in a promise that entails marrying Locke when she knew he was pursuing Jude at the same time. Its hinted that she did that to be included into the court but on top of that Locke literally has enchantments/magic that make people love him; which was hinted at when Jude was still in relationship of some kind with Locke and Dain shows up & mentions to have a little gem in the middle of her forehead to make ppl love her. At first, i didn’t know why they brought it up twice when she didn’t even end up choosing that path, obviously, but then i noticed Holly Black chose to not bring it up again after Locke left her life for Taryns and. But then in The Stolen Heir it said that Locke’s mother was a Gancanagh, a Love-Talker, which makes Locke also one. For gancanaghs, its said that some Mortals die from such admiration which Taryn could withhold and, once again, Taryn mostly married him to secure a place in court (and then killed him bc he wouldn’t shut up so it prob didnt work that well).
Anyway, I think we should hate Taryn because she NEVER apologized. Even over simple things! Which is shown when Taryn and Jude go to the mall (In The Cruel Prince, Book 1) and they both think they’re in the wrong and Jude says “Im sorry” and Taryn says “I know your probably mad…” which suggests that Taryn was never going to say sorry and divert the assumed resentment away from her. When she was in the wrong, CLEARLY, she only went up to Jude to rekindle because she wanted something from Jude. And I hate when ppl go like ‘oh Jude is so stupid for forgiving Taryn’s manipulative ass’ when Jude knew!! Taryn was taking advantage of Jude’s positions & Jude in general and couldnt even manage to say im sorry. Instead, she used manipulation and tried to make it seem like she’s the victim to get Jude good with her when all Jude wanted was a sorry and an ‘I won’t do it again’.
Btw, you can tell that she mostly, or even only, went to Jude to get something because it’d be monthssss since a betrayal (each time) then she comes back a few months later, or more, when she had the freedom to go anytime. Then after manipulating Jude in believing she was sorry, or smt, she would ask for something or hint at something she wants like a second after!! (Jude forgave her anyway too) If you dont remember: the first time was to ask or hint at wanting Jude to revokes Locke’s title of Master Of Revels. With the second time was even worse. Second time she only came back bc it was LIFE OR DEATH and came to Jude as a LAST MINUTE, a day or so before her trial so you couldnt even say that she used it as a excuse. And something that lowkey breaks my heart is Jude assumes Taryn just killed him and came to Jude immediately to hide the body n stuff but Taryn tried to hide the body and everythinggg before coming to Jude… then on top of that she put Jude’s life in danger.
The first thing the trial asks is who she is: the real answer was obviously Jude but she lied and said Taryn. But I get it, Jude cant be glamoured so its fine!! But the thing is that TARYNNNN DIDNTTT KNOWWWW!!?? She deadass went to Jude, asking her to fill in for her, when Jude was in exile so if her exile was fr and she could be glamoured normally then Jude wouldve been dead😭.
(Props to Vivi for not letting Jude go until Jude admitted she couldnt she glamoured but Taryn was TOOOO ready to let Jude die in her place)
Anyway, we should all collectively hate Taryn for that; not hating her for trying to live in elfhame differently from Jude.

obsessed with dick, jason and tim just. knowing? that this is persephone.
(long posting this bc i realized how long i got LMAO) i go on a huge tangent but trust i get back to persephone
(slight tangent - i feel like with dick and jason it would be alfred to inform them on the greek world? like. its something bruce told alfred to do with dick because bruce felt it he would explain it better type deal since alfred is the one actually involved with it.
however tim knew directly. janet probably had him grow up with the knowledge. (i wonder if janet went to camp?) so tim was already aware of gods, monsters, demigods, what type of metal to use, etc (after all janet would want her child to be informed)
stephanie. didnt know right away? she was probably with tim or something when venus showed up and was like. alright. another thing to add to the weird shit wrong with the waynes or something. but... venus and stephanie yap sessions (they shit talk tim)
((also another side tangent bc this is making me think world building .. i guess. i wonder how they get claimed? isnt it mostly at camp where that happens..? - ok looked it up and it says "when a camper shows some amount of their godly power or skill".. gotta find a work around for that hmmm))
cass probably knew.. some of it? she didnt know exactly what it is until she came to gotham and met w the bats. she just knew she had certain powers that could kill these monsters that some people didnt see.
duke however. i feel like is aware theres,, something he doesnt fully understand? i think his powerset in particular would be interesting to explore with this world. bruce would probably train him to see past the mist (to me hes not clearsighted) ((also also i wonder if one of them could work with the mist- like hazel or (cecil? was it?))) but i wonder how his powers would affect it. i feel like when he comes into contact with gods and goddesses he can see their aura? if that makes sense. he can see that they're. different. brighter. more powerful.
damian def,,, grew up around it. hes aware of it, the magic, the power, etc.... i wonder how he and persephone would get along.... (however again damian to me is the least explored in this au)
okay back to persephone and the batfam together..
persephone and dickie getting along together is soo cute .. sobbing... (which would break him more come MOA. teehee) they really areee spring siblings... her little birdie........ i think she would love the bright colours and bird name.
(bruce absolutely DOES have the mysterious woman board. he marks down everything she has said about Weird Stuff. like why does she talk about the ancient times as if she were there? why does talk about the underworld as if she lives there. why does she talk about his parents as if she still talks to them.
(like brucie at this point its kinda obvious)
"i should hope that no one here addresses me as such any time soon" from persephone, how only those in the underworld call her "your majesty" OUGHHH it made me think of jason when he died. do u think he went to the underworld? he was fated to return so why bother going there? i wonder if it was just blackness for him.
if he did go to the underworld he definitely would have gone to elysium. (... did thomas and martha make it there? did jason get to see his grandparents? do you think they were able to meet. being able to see them, tell stories with them, laugh with them unlike bruce was able to?)((however with how close they are to persephone i bet they would have made it.))
ohhh cassandra....... how much i torment u in this au...
ur so right.. about how she'd feel about persephone. persephone more so,, to me is the rebirth to hades' death? like how after a volcano, new plant life grows. that is persephone to me.
i wonder how exactly cass would feel about persephone and direct connection to death- (i mean she is the queen of the underworld no matter how much she is a spring goddess)
also oughhh the flower........ </3
i wonder if persephone did show up. if she could sense the distress the second little birdy was emitting. shes ough to have mixed feelings about his death because at least she could see him though.
ALSO bruce lost in time and MOA happening at the same time is SOO good
like tim's quest to find bruce is ALSO part of his quest to find venus and athena.
(dick breaking at the fact he just. cant talk to persephone. the flower lays crushed. wilted now because persephone is supposed to be here. the roses she had help plant are dying and they dont do that so something. is really wrong.
hehe
(@duskdawnallen )
ok this isn't eloquently said at all, but it was inspired by a batfam fic i love on ao3 called "way down hadestown" (which i love so much and highly recommend if you haven't read it yet). i was thinking about bruce/wayne ancestors and patron gods and instead of it being athena or hestia, what if it were persephone? patroness of bats, goddess of springtime, and queen of the underworld. on the one hand, she embodies growth, rebirth, and resilience, on the other hand, she has ties to death and is known as the destroyer. thinking about bruce has lost so much and yet can't escape death no matter how much he wants to because it literally blesses his family :')
PERSEPHONEEE IS SOOOO GOOD oh my god u cooked with this u cooked with this......
#so many good thoughts i feel like i missed some#the bat pjo au#ash's ramblings#also thinking of a time when persephone visits the manor.#and venus and athena just . so happen to be there arguing about tim#maybe cardea is somewhere around town with stephanie. apollo is annoying duke and babs.#persephone just. feeling like shes not alone#PLEASEEE#she thought she was special#(she is. afterall she was the first)

[GOODGUY Nexus au] Meet Sun - The Depressed Asshole [1]
"What happened to my smile and my will to live? Gone."
"Remember kids, whenever you find yourself feeling trapped, feeling suffocated, that's okay!! Fish get eaten in the ocean and they choke on their own waste in undersized tanks everyday. If you are not dead, that means society has done its job." :))
***
They started out like the other Suns and Moons. Getting sentient, sharing the same body, and fighting for control until they nearly killed each other.
The only difference was that even when they were separated, Moon was still an asshole. They taunted and bullied Sun, and often used the threat of shutting him down to get Sun to obey.
They were like the king, and Sun was the sad clown who danced to the stick they would hit him with whenever he stopped.
Sun has tried to stay positive, but the more days go by, the idea of Moon love and care about him seems like a lie he is trying to deceive himself.
But things would get worse, Moon could kill him or he could tear himself in half until one day…
Anyways... Like a butterfly flapping its wings in the northern can cause a tornado in the southern.
Sun has changed, and the universe has changed with him...
It was a late afternoon, when the kids had all gone home and Sun was left alone to clean. The smell of cleaning filled the air, and with each ball he cleaned, he hummed a different tune.
"Hmm… Almost done, only 232 balls left. Haha… I hate my life."
His chuckle echoed in the empty space. The loneliness was like a cold pressing down on Sun's ribs and spine, making him unconsciously hug himself because of the sudden feeling of restlessness.
Moon wasn't here.
Who was he kidding, Moon never wanted to be here, unless his brother needed something, or wanted to push Sun into some dimension craps to turn him into a test subject again.
And it's not like he can say no...
Suddenly, his internal organs rattled as he slowly stood up, the pain tearing like a torch melting the circuit board inside his stomach before pouring more mercury in.
Moon had shoot him with some stupid machine they had built, and the aftershocks had blown a huge hole in his stomach.
It hurt like hell and Sun thought he was going to die, but then Moon had smacked him in the head to shut him up before fixing Sun as good as new.
Though… Why does it still hurt now? Sun winced, trying to get up and falling again.
His hands were shaking, his body was convulsing. His internal systems were flooded with bright yellow error warning symbols, the fans were running at full capacity, but his core was still hot enough to make his head steam.
He wanted to call someone but for some reason his voice box wouldn't respond, only emitting a staticky sound like a broken radio.
"Moon… Moon…" Sun still managed to scream weakly. He struggled to crawl out of the ballpit and crawl to wherever the camera could see him.
"Computer… Help." It is exhausting, and Sun has struggled to scream, even though it felt like he had a knife stuffed in his mouth.
"[Warning: Someone is injured, contact nearest support.]"
The dinging response made Sun's heart swell with hope, only for the computer's voice to knock that hope down and throw it into the mud.
"Oh wait, it's just Sun. I was wrong." The computer's AI looked extremely disappointed as it recognized Sun. Its voice was filled with contempt, as if Sun had soiled its eyes.
"No need to contact Moon. He always say to avoid calling them unless it's important."
The second AI was no better, just continuing to agree with AI one, completely ignoring him as he groaned in pain. A wave of nausea hit him like a wire was being ripped out behind his head and his stomach was popping.
Everything was spinning and before the feeling of breathlessness began to overwhelm him, everything went black.
That was how Sun passed out, realizing, oh, he was worthless to anyone.
***
- This Sun is more meaner. He is not afraid to open his mouth, and usually just loves to throw hands with whoever messes with him.
- He loves to beat the crap out of Monty whenever he has the chance.
-His relationship with Moon became much frayer, but they still love each other. (Kinda)
- He likes to crippled his enemies, because it is easy to live and feel the pain more than just die and get peace. His sadistic side gets shown a lot.
- He killed his Moon, not accidentally but intentionally. (Of course he still feels guilty about it, but things have already happened and Moon has forgiven him when he comes back so they are cool.)
- He and Nexus at first have the : "Who is that sassy child?" Vs "And you are an ugly bitch!" But then they slowly warm up to each other and care and treat the other more healthier than Moon and Sun ever do.
- After turning Nexus into a goose, Sun keeps Nexus in his room and reads them stories for goose Nexus to sleep.
- Sun is still silly, he just hides his side very deeply.

So fucked up that obimaul is a rarepair. What do you mean not everyone is obsessed with enemies to lovers with a Force connection, where one side is completely obsessed with the other who barely acknowledges him (but is just as affected)
#hm i should make an original post tag#obimaul#like. say what you want but obi-wan saw a random dathomirian zabrak and immediately went 'maul?? alive??'#he DOES care about maul he just doesn't actively seek him out like maul does#post prompted by this song that makes me think about Maul in his crime lord era‚ all the luxury of the world within his reach‚#but none of it satisfies him because what he really wants is to find (and kill) kenobi#'another night up in the best suite; everything's gone wrong already‚ my body admits; dreaming so high the floor is the limit;#once again i got lost..
