Tell me why Kara Zor-L is one of my your favs! I'm been meaning to make the jump from the CW show to the comics. Any recommendations?
- @cicero-in-gotham
@cicero-in-gotham oh i would LOVE to!! Kara Zor-L is my darling beloved.
firstly for suggestions, i'll be honest Kara can be... a hard character to read for. you have to slog through a lot of really shitty "male gaze" content to get scraps of interesting stuff. the top comics i'd recommend are
Power Girl: Power Trip
Power Girl Returns
Power Girl (2023)
some people like Harley Quinn & Power Girl. i'll be honest... i did not. and Power Girl (2009) has... ups and downs, is the nicest way i'll say it. but it's also solid for what it is. certainly better than her New-52 content so i can't really complain.
anyhow, i always am enamoured by characters who are disconnected from their "family", especially due to trauma. bc no one really counts Power Girl as part of the Superfamily. and even within the Superfamily if people are talking about the "outcast" of the family, they always say Kon. (which, eh? maybe New-52!Kon but i wouldn't say the main Kon is an outcast, his issues are internal) but to me, Kara far better suites that role. it's one thing to be one of the last survivors of Krypton. it's another thing to be one of the last survivors of your entire *universe* as well. she lost everyone, *twice*.
i adore characters who feel like imposters and Kara is *peak* imposter syndrome. everything about her identity is constructed around not feeling like a "real" Super, or a "real" Zor-L. she has to live with knowing she's on an earth that has Supergirl, meaning they don't need her. she didn't wear the S crest for so long even on her own earth, because she felt like she didn't server it.the only thing she feels like she has going for her is her sexual appeal and so it's so amped up she lacks a personality outside of it. she has been isolated again and again by her trauma and she struggles to face her grief, masking with humor and oversexual appearances. i find that to be so interesting. she lost *everything*, twice. and now she's an imposter who will always hold herself at a distance from the Supers because she doesn't want to make them uncomfortable with her existence. she has to live on an Earth and know everyone is... slightly off. she has Clark, but it's not *her* Clark. she has the Justice Society of America, but it's not *her* JSA. and she doesn't have her best friend, Helena Wayne at *all*, because this earth has Helena Bertinelli as Huntress. (unless you count New Golden Age stuff but that's future timeline nonsense)
i find Kara's lack of identity interesting, and the way she just sort of drifts. she has done a lot of things, but lacks a sense of self importance bc she will never view herself as a "real" Kryptonian of this universe. she's just so neat to me. i also love the JSA personally, they're one of my favorite superhero teams, so i love any character connected to the JSA, they're always so underrated.
the Power Girl Special (which is collected in Power Girl Returns) is like, genuinely one of my favorite single issues ever. that comic just lives in my bones. it also has one of the *best* internal monologues i've ever read. something something comics are art. this is cutting some stuff out but just to show you have beautiful the writing is, this is an excerpt from that comic
people tend to think of hatred as love's opposite. but i disagree- i think hatred is just love's sharpened edge. it's the same passion. the same potency, the same intensity. just a different flavor. so no, hatred isn't love's opposite. grief is. grief is the void left behind after something you once loved was violently ripped away. grief is what happens in love's sudden absence. love is when your cup runneth over. but grief is hollow. a chasm. there is no negotiating with grief. it does what it wants to you, when it wants. you will never outgrow or outrun it. but... you can find ways to grow around it. i never got to say goodbye. i was loved, once. i was once loved so much that my life was prioritized above all else. i will never feel worthy of that love or sacrifice. but i'm realizing now that to freeze or falter in the shadow of that love is the only way to fail their sacrifice. i have to live in the light. i can step out into the sunlight, and still carry them with me.
like that is??? so Character to me. she is Everything. i'm just. so unwell over her internal struggles and how she faces the world, i cannot recommend her enough. she means the world to me and that comic has stuck with me since i read it for it's conversation about handling grief. i am begging everyone to be a Power Girl fan i know she's confusing but once you get the hang of her backstory she's so cool i swear-
#necrotic answerings#kara zor-l#power girl#comic recommendations#listen you can skip everything before power trip and skip all the new-52#just start at power trip#the 1988 mini series deifnitely skip#that's from when they made her an atalantean mage it's not canon anymore#her history is *really* confusing#but just run with it#it'll click sooner or later#i am very defensive of ppl considering kon the otusider of the superfam and not her#like??? it's her. it's always her.#kon is accepted and loved by clark. outsider where-#i actually don't know much about supergirl#so i don't know if i could go too in depth with their differences#but i do know a lot of power girl's issues with supergirl are all projection#and i think supergirl was done well in power girl returns when she showed up#i'm so serious the power girl special rewired me#and i thikn it's proof of how comics are an artform yk#i just cannot recommend enough of her#she's so neat.#also idk if i should tag ppl who sign asks? like does that help you find it easier?#idk the ettiquiette on that one#i will find ways to work kara into my fics someday#shame i can't self-rec my kara-centric fic bc it's on my mian ao3 account.#it's about kara zor-l and helena bertinelli forming a friendship#i'm proud of it#tbh you could find it off that description#ty for asking i am SO happy to talk about her tho she's everything and SO underrated.

Supergirl 6x12: Blind Spots.
Korra here! I actually watched an episode on time for once, yay! Also, holy effing smokes. This episode. My thoughts down below, and as always, SPOILERS AHEAD.
The opening scene with Nyxly and the blue alien guy tells us right away that imp magic is going to be a major issue right away this episode, which I enjoy.
Kelly and Orlando racing to help all the people who got trapped in the Ormfell building collapse and him telling Kelly that it will take too long to wait for 911 was just ugh. My heart.
The hospitals being overwhelmed, the need for extra oxygen and respirators, and the lack of empathy for the underprivileged... okay. If this isn’t a reference to both the Covid-19 pandemic and nursing crisis, I don’t know what else it could be. This one hurt.
Okay, so the Karen council woman, whose name is Jean Rankin, is awful. Pardon my language because I usually try to stay pg-13, but holy fuck I hate her. Unsurprisingly, she immediately abuses her new power. What a bitch.
Kelly calling for help but no one listening is absolutely heartbreaking. I wish Alex had at least asked her what was going on, but she didn’t and that is what makes it worse. I think in this case, it was because Alex has full faith that Kelly can take care of herself, but the lack of understanding what Kelly needs vs. what she can do is something Alex is missing.
This is small and random, but I’m glad that the show hasn’t forgotten James. So many shows have people leave the show and then pretend they never existed. SG has rarely done that and I’m thankful.
Diggle, my man! I think that this was his best appearance by far. I really liked him in the Batwoman one, because he encouraged Luke to keep moving forward, which was super touching. But him and Kelly connecting and trying to figure this out together was very well done.
Lena gets a couple of scenes this episode. The first one is driving me crazy. She has a text from Kelly, and a new notification. The point was to drive home that no one was listening to Kelly, which this did effectively. BUT, I also can’t get over the fact that Lena IGNORED Kelly’s message because she saw a new notification about Supergirl and had to race home immediately. I’m trying to keep my hopes low, but if this doesn’t scream Supercorp Endgame, what does?
Okay, but like, effing Andrea? Kelly, who is your friend and previous employee is asking you to cover a building collapse that has a bunch of people injured and dying and you’re covering TRAFFIC? WHAT THE FUCK? Girl, this is why your network is failing because of stupid ass decisions like this. Get it together.
Kelly finally losing her shit at the Super Friends was well deserved. Everyone was ignoring her this episode, and they were ignoring the serious issue on hand. Of course stopping Nxyly is important, but so is this. Kara and Alex both feel guilty immediately and Nia stops them from going to talk to Kelly so she can blow off some steam.
Kara and Kelly’s conversation was really good. I’m glad that it wasn’t Kara being completely ignorant like they do often, but instead not having her understand it from a certain perspective. I think this was one of the best moments of the episode.
This talk made me cry. Brainy is showing Kelly her new suit, and she asks him “Does it get better?” Jesse’s face is just agony when he tells her that there was still a lot of problems. I cried during this scene. It’s so frustrating. We have come a long way, but there’s many more steps to take.
THE NEW SUIT IS AMAZING. KELLY LOOKS SO GOOD. AHHHH.
Orlando is speaking truth. Why should he trust the new Guardian just because? It hurts but Kelly understands why she’s gotta prove herself.
Kara fights that idiot Rankin, but she’s mostly holding her attention so Kelly and drain her energy and return it to the people. This scene was really cool, ngl.
Okay, scene number 2 that made me cry. Kelly (magically I have to say) comes down from the building to speak with the people, mostly Orlando. She’s encouraging him to take a seat on the council. which is really sweet. But the scene when the one little girl says “I’M GUARDIAN” while the other holds the trash lid... I just....it speaks volumes. Remember when Supergirl first came out and little girls everywhere were so excited to see themselves on screen? Now little black girls can have their representation too. I’m actually tearing up writing this.
Lena gets home and you know it’s magic because snail mail beat her CatCo jet. Now she has a spell book!
Bye Diggle! It was fun having you around. The last thing he says to Kelly about Jefferson is so wonderful. Remember that now post-Crisis, Black Lighting is the OG black superhero that people looked up to. I just really loved this full circle moment.
Now the last scene. UGH. Kelly putting her hair up in a wrap. Her wearing the “Say Her Name” shirt. The music choice. Kelly telling Alex what she needs and Alex listening. Kelly crying in her arms. I bawled. This scene. I loved it. It was the best way to end an exhausting episode for Kelly.
Overall, not only the best episode of the season, but one of the best episodes of the entire show. I can’t say enough about it. Even if you stopped watching SG, I think everyone should watch this episode at least. Really powerful stuff.
Also, a promo! Yay! Looks like we’re getting a fun chaotic episode, which I think after an emotionally taxing episode like this, it’s needed. Until then, everyone!

Lena jumped and reached for the taser hidden under her desk as a red and blue blur came crashing through her balcony window, landing in the middle of her office in a pile of concrete and rucked up carpet.
She released her death grip on the taser and breathed out in relief at the realisation that this was not another surprise visit from one of her brother’s minions but rather National City’s resident superhero dropping in. (Literally).
This wasn’t quite how she imagined their first meeting but then when did her life ever go as expected.
Supergirl lay in the rubble, unmoving. Apart from her apparent lack of consciousness, she looked unharmed. Had Lena not just witnessed her crash through her very expensive wall, she might have thought the hero was simply taking a mid-fight power nap.
She gingerly stepped across the ditch that Supergirl’s landing had created in her floor and crouched down to assess the Super.
“Supergirl?” She briefly contemplated poking her to see if she responded but decided against it just in case it was taken as another Luthor attack.
Supergirl gasped and shot upright, almost giving Lena a heart attack in the process. She looked around in confusion for a moment before her eyes landed on Lena who had a hand clutched to her chest and was trying desperately not to curse like a sailor in front of National City’s golden girl.
Supergirl cleared her throat, standing and brushing building dust off herself. “Sorry about…” she gestured vaguely to the gaping hole now in the side of Lena’s office, “that. I’ll just…” She nodded towards the balcony and awkwardly went over to it, needlessly opening the door which now had no glass and half the frame missing.
Lena watched her stand tall, heroically raising her fists to the sky as she pushed off the ground and jumped less than two feet into the air. She stumbled and smacked into the balcony railing with an “oof”, doubling over and almost falling over the other side.
“Supergirl?!” Lena’s eyes widened and she rushed towards her as Supergirl slid to the floor with a groan.
The hero flopped over onto her back and lay on the balcony. “I think… I think I’m just going to lie here for a bit if that’s okay.”
She reached up and tapped at her ear a few times before removing what was presumably a communications device with a sigh and throwing it across the balcony.
“Sorry. I’ll clear that up in a bit.” She rolled her head to the side and looked through the balcony windows to the mess that had been Lena’s office. “...And that.” She looked up at Lena with a sheepish smile. “I don’t suppose you have a phone I could borrow?”
———
A few minutes later, Supergirl was sitting on Lena’s thankfully still intact couch, staring down at the dial numbers on Lena’s phone.
“You don’t know the number do you.” Lena had to stop herself from laughing at the way Supergirl threw her hands up with a grumpy pout, adorable crinkle between her eyebrows.
“Who remembers phone numbers anymore?!” She sighed and flopped back into the couch cushions, handing Lena her phone back with a halfhearted smile in thanks.
Lena got up and crossed her office, carefully stepping across the gulf in the middle and sitting down at her desk. “Well if you can give me a name, I may be able to find a number?”
Kara bit her lip, considering. She muttered something under her breath about being murdered and moved across the room to sit in the chair that still had all four legs on the other side of Lena’s desk. “Alex Danvers.”
Lena nodded and got to work hacking a few National City servers.
Supergirl shifted uncomfortably in her seat. “You’re not um… this isn’t illegal, right?”
Lena glanced away from her screen to the hero for a moment and raised an eyebrow. “Do you really want me to answer that?”
———
It didn’t take long to find a number. Supergirl fidgeted in her seat the entire time and only stopped when Lena handed her phone back over and turned her screen around to show her the phone number of one Alex Danvers.
Supergirl lit up immediately and dialed the number.
Lena tried not to listen, she really did, but it was hard when Supergirl hadn’t even moved from the seat opposite her.
“Hey Alex, it’s K- …Supergirl.”
Lena bit her cheek to stop herself smiling and pulled up some work to pretend to do. She saw Supergirl grimace at whatever was being said out the corner of her eye.
“I know, I know. I’m fine - I just crashed into a building and solarflared. And my comms are broken. I may also need another phone. Can you get photos back from broken devices? Because I took a really cool picture of some birds earlier before I dropped my phone. …Those two things are totally unrelated.”
There was some faint complaining on the other end of the line and Lena discreetly pulled up the schematics for a prototype that could retrieve and restore data from practically any device.
“Um…” Supergirl not-so-subtly glanced towards Lena and angled herself slightly away. “Lena Luthor?”
Lena hoped this so-called solarflare affected all Supergirl’s powers or she would definitely have been able to hear the way Lena’s heart started thudding in her chest.
Supergirl’s crinkle returned and she loudly whispered down the phone in a way that made Lena understand why there were never any stories of Supergirl doing covert operations. “Alex! Will you stop it? She has been nothing but kind to me. If she wanted me dead, she would have tried it already - she knows I don’t have any of my powers right now.”
There was some more yelling on the phone.
“Well I think it would have been kinda hard to convince her I still had them after she saw me faceplant on her balcony.” There was silence for a moment and then Supergirl pouted at the sound of laughter. “Okay okay can you just come and get me now?”
———
It turned out that Alex could not in fact come and get Supergirl because whatever underground organisation she worked for (because it certainly wasn’t the def.B.I) were too busy chasing down the alien Supergirl had been fighting before she decided to visit Lena.
“I could get my driver to take you somewhere if you’d like?”
Supergirl shook her head. “Thanks but I wouldn’t be able to tell them the address. And Alex doesn’t like me wandering around without my powers.” She lifted her hand and almost poked herself in the eye before redirecting the movement to tuck a stand of hair behind her ear, a cute blush dusting her cheeks. “Would it be alright if I just stay here for a bit? I’ll be super quiet - you won’t even know I’m here.”
———
Despite all her abilities, super-quietness did not appear to be one of them.
Lena spent half an hour trying to continue working before she gave up, logging off her computer and turning to the Kryptonian currently hanging upside down on her couch and singing ABBA under her breath.
“I was just about to order some food. Would you like anything?”
Supergirl’s face lit up like an excited puppy and she fell off the couch in her eagerness to get up. She jumped to her feet, cape awkwardly twisted over her shoulder, and put her hands on her hips like nothing had happened. “Would I ever!”
Lena grinned and rounded her desk, picking up her phone to order. “What would you like?”
Apparently that was the wrong question to ask a Kryptonian because Lena spent the next half hour listening to Supergirl wax poetic about various fast foods before being coerced into ordering far too much food with absolutely no nutritional value and suffering through Jess’s alarmed and mildly concerned looks when said food arrived. She would certainly be recommending the company that soundproofed her office though if Jess still had no idea that there was a Super in there.
The coffee table was overflowing with Chinese takeout. Supergirl had skewered four potstickers on her chopsticks and ate them all in one go, cheeks puffing out like a chipmunk, before Lena even sat down. She made a pleased hum and smiled at Lena like this was perfectly normal before impaling another four.
Lena smoothed out her skirt and delicately picked up her own food, using proper chopstick etiquette.
“So. Lena Luthor, huh?”
Lena raised an eyebrow. “Supergirl, huh?”
The Super considered her for a moment. “Kara Zor-El.” When Lena just frowned she added, “my name. Kara Zor-El.” At her continued look of shock and confusion, Kara shrugged and went back to eating like it was no big deal. “If you’re stuck with me for a bit and kind enough to feed me I figure you should at least get to call me something other than ‘Supergirl’.”
Lena rested her container of noodles on her knee and studied Kara. “Why do you trust me?”
Kara frowned. “Why would I not?”
“Because I’m a Luthor?”
Kara looked at her and for a terrifying moment Lena felt more seen than ever before. “Yes. You are. Lena Luthor. And as far as I know, Lena Luthor has done nothing to make me distrust her.”
Before Lena could even begin to form a response to that, Kara had picked up a new food container to start on and was telling her about a puppy she had seen earlier that week.
———
“I don’t believe you.”
“It’s true!” Kara turned to fully face her on the couch, flinging noodles around in her chopsticks as she talked. “It took me ages to learn to get the temperature just right - that’s the hardest bit really. Same with laservision - it took a lot of burnt popcorn before I could cook stuff with it. I use that all the time now though.”
Lena bit her lip to stop herself laughing at the image of Supergirl using her superpowers to make popcorn.
“Anyway - I swear I really did make it snow for Christmas one year. The weather reporters were so confused.”
Lena had to duck her head to hide the laugh trying to escape her. Kara was grinning dopily at her when she looked back up.
She raised an eyebrow. “I still don’t believe you.”
Kara’s jaw dropped and she made an affronted noise, dramatically standing, placing her food back on the coffee table, and putting her hands on her hips. She inhaled deeply and looked towards the ceiling, letting out a stream of freeze breath that drifted down in a flurry of snowflakes.
Lena laughed and stood, holding out her palms to catch some snow and watching it melt in her palms. Kara grinned smugly at the look of delight on Lena’s face.
It was at that moment that Jess walked through the door.
“Miss Luthor, there’s an Ale-” She cut herself off at the sight of her boss laughing with Supergirl in an office with a hole in the side of it, half the floor torn up, and more food than she had seen Lena eat in the past week piled up on the coffee table.
Lena cleared her throat, lowering her arms and putting back on her professional mask as though there weren’t snowflakes in her hair. “Yes Jess?”
Jess opened and closed her mouth a few times, eyes darting around the room, before she straightened up and looked back to Lena. “Alex Danvers is here. She says you’re expecting her?”
Lena nodded. “Yes. Thank you Jess. Please send her in.”
Jess left the room without another word and (presumably) Alex Danvers walked in. Her eyebrows rose as she took in the scene before her, eyes landing on a sheepish looking Supergirl.
Alex sighed and turned to Lena. “We’ll have a clean up crew with you as soon as possible, Miss Luthor.”
Lena shook her head, trying to bite back a smile as she saw Kara trying to nudge her carpet back over the dent in her floor with the toe of her boot. “No need, Ms Danvers. I’ve been wanting to renovate this office since I moved to National City anyway.”
Alex nodded and tried to subtly pull at Supergirl’s cape to get her to stop. She smiled politely. “We’ll leave you to your work then.”
She opened the office door and looked expectantly to Kara.
But before she left, Kara wrapped her ridiculously muscular arms around Lena and gave her a squeeze. It was like being hugged by a rock in a blanket and it was the best feeling Lena had ever experienced. Kara pulled back with a grin and a thank you before turning to Alex to follow her out.
It was only thanks to years of Luthor training that Lena managed to keep her composure. She definitely succeeded. She was sure of it. Alex’s smirk was entirely unrelated.
And if a woman who looked remarkably like Supergirl with glasses and a ponytail and was coincidentally also called Kara walked into her (newly redecorated) office behind Clark Kent a week later, who could blame her for making a few Supergirl jokes to make that cute blush appear. And for giving her her personal phone number. For future interviews, of course.

Come home to me - Chapter 3
Title: Come home to me
Chapter no: Chapter 3
Author: @arianalilyblack
Pairing: Harry Wells x Reader x Eobard Thawne/Harrison Wells
Word count: 1430
Summary: The wedding of Barry Allen and Iris West is finally here. You and Harry are caught up with the wedding spirit and start to slowly realize that maybe you developed deeper feelings for each other. Everything is perfect until Nazis bust into the church ruining everything. And alongside Earth X villains guess who shows up? Your ex flame, Eobard Thawne aka the Reverse Flash, complicating everything in your lives.
You were left alone in the Time Vault, his words echoing inside your head. You were upset. Different emotions were swirling inside you, emotions that confused you. All the feelings you had bottled up until now started to slowly surface. You thought they were long gone from your system, but it seems that you were just lying to yourself. You had to pull yourself together after he left you, so you locked down the love that you felt for him and moved forward. Now that he was here, it all started to come back, but you knew that you didn’t have that kind of luxury to act on those. That ship had long sailed away.
You turned your head to the screen to see what’s going on. There were Nazi soldiers all over the med bay and Cortex, they were preparing for some surgery of sort. You noticed Kara, and for a moment you hoped that this entire nightmare will end, because Supergirl will save the day. The moment passed quickly, when you saw her wearing a hospital robe. Overgirl was already on a bed ready for the intervention. Eobard was supposed to be the surgeon; you saw that he was holding a scalpel in his hand, ready to cut into Kara at any moment.
You felt sick and tried to turn off the screen, but Eobard did something to the control panel so you couldn’t do anything. The sight of him made your heart ache. It was clear to you that he was the enemy, he will always be the team’s main enemy, but you knew him like no one else. You have seen parts of him, the gentle loving parts of him that were only shown to you. You couldn’t understand then and you sure couldn’t now, how can a man like him love someone that much and be a monster with others at the same time. With every moment passed watching him being Dr. Mengele 2.0 you felt more and more determined to end whatever was between the two of you.
You were just thinking about a strategy to get out of there when the door magically opened in front of you. The sight of Iris and Felicity rushing towards you calmed your racing heart.
„Y/N, are you okay? What happened?” Iris asked concerned when she saw in what shape you were.
„Long story short, Eobard is back to torture my heart yet again” you let out a small chuckle.
„That son of a…” mumbled Felicity, but she didn’t finish the sentence, because she began to hack the Time Vault’s system. „He’s good, but still no match for Felicity Smoak.”
„Where’s Harry? And the others?” you added quickly, not to make it too obvious for who were you worried most of all.
„They are still locked in the Pipeline. We tried to free them, but we couldn’t, so we sent out an S.O.S. message to the legends. We will win this, don’t worry.” Iris gave you a shoulder squeeze and helped you to your feet.
„I feel so useless right now” you shook you head in disappointment. „I’m weak and pathetic.”
„You are a strong woman, Y/N. You know better than to let a man take that from you.” Iris encouraged you. „We will kick some butts and we will save the day. No one is messing with team Flash.”
„Okay, I think I’m done. I encrypted the whole system and caused a power shortage” said Felicity turning around.
„Then we need to get out of here. Eobard can be here in any minute. He was the one who locked me in here” you said, heart aching every time you said his name.
~
The power went off just when he approached to cut open the girl laying on the bed. It didn’t take long for him to figure out that she had something to do with it. He ignored the Fuhrer’s offensive questions and hurried to the one place where someone could do such damage. The room was empty.
„You little minx…” he mumbled to himself.
By the time he returned to the Cortex all the soldiers were knocked out, Dark Arrow was nowhere to be seen. In the place of Kara now was Y/N sitting on the bed, the General still unconscious. He was pleased to see her there.
„So you changed your mind, sweetheart? Are you finally gonna accept that you belong to me?” he walked closer to her, one hand reaching out for her.
„How could I ever resist you?” she took his hands while standing up from the bed. Her words were like a melody for him.
„Good” he muttered before pulling her in for a kiss, but before their lips could touch, she punched him in the stomach releasing a yellow energy blast from her fist.
„Like my new power, honey? I figured why not try to combust my hydrogen and oxygen with my sparks, and voila. I think it was a brilliant idea.”
„That was quite… impressive” he said with a grin while rubbing his chin. „Shall we dance then?”
„We shall” she smirked back, eyes sparling in excitement.
God, he liked this side of her. The way she looked at him made him want to ravage her in an instant. He didn’t overuse his speed, it wouldn’t be fair, and besides he didn’t want to hurt her. He wanted to take his time, playing a game of cat and mouse. She tried to punch him multiple times, with and without the use of her metapowers. Some punches hit the target, others didn’t. For him this whole situation was very amusing. He could see frustration and anger building up inside her. Her efforts were all in vain, she couldn’t match his speed. Or so Eobard thought.
~
You were feeling exhausted. You knew that you were minutes, or maybe just seconds away from passing out. You hoped that this little diversion brought enough time for the girls to get out. Kara needed sunlight to regain her strength, something that wouldn’t hurt you either. You knew that the melanin inside your body needed light to recharge, like a battery. But right now you had to buy time; you had to make a sacrifice. You were their best chance by keeping Eobard busy.
You were so focused on the Reverse-Flash that you didn’t notice that the soldiers you and the girls knocked out were starting to wake up. And you sure missed to notice the enemy Oliver nocking an arrow on the bow targeting you. He loose the arrow and right before it could drill into your chest the speedster dragged you away.
„What did I tell you?” Eobard growled at Nazi Arrow. „What did I tell you?” he shouted.
You never saw him this angry before. He dashed and in a second Dark Arrow was pinned to a wall threatened by a vibrating hand. The rage you felt towards him eased a little. You could tell that he still cared about you in his own twisted way. The dispute was interrupted by soldiers who were bringing back Kara, Iris and Felicity. You let out a desperate sigh. You were about to launch your last, desperate attack, despite the fact that you were barely standing on your feet, but before you could do anything Eobard pushed you into a soldier’s firm grip.
„Don’t push yourself over your limits, love” he said and gave you a little kiss on your cheek. „Miss Smoak and Miss West, pleasure to meet you again.”
„Thawne, don’t waste our time” said firmly Dark Oliver. „Fix this!”
„Give us the code, Miss Smoak” said the speedster in a calm manner.
„No” was the short answer. Red lightning filled the room. In the next second Felicity was immobilized by Eobard.
„Turn the power back on.” You could sense the pure wrath in his voice. When he saw that his threatening voice didn’t do the trick, he started vibrating his hand.
„Eobard, please stop” you begged him. His hand stopped for a split second. „You are back home now, with me. You don’t have to help them anymore. Please!”
„Y/N…” he looked at you with hope in his eyes. For an odd minute you thought you had him, but then he turned away. „Don’t distract me.”
His voice was cold as ice and broke your already broken heart. Eventually Felicity gave them the new passcode and the power came back. You were escorted by the soldiers towards the Pipeline. He never even looked at you as you were taken away.

Weekend Top Ten #490
Top Ten Female Superheroes in the Movies
I feel like female superheroes – and I'm stretching the definition to include those who aren't consistently out-and-out heroic – are finally, belatedly, starting to get something approaching their due. Already this year we've had two Disney+ shows that had very prominent leading roles for female supers (I'd argue very strongly that Sylvie becomes a co-lead), and on the DC side there's still Supergirl and Batwoman. At the pictures, however, women in capes have historically suffered; if a film had a female lead, any poor performance at the box office was seemingly blamed on gender rather than, y’know, the film being crap. Fortunately the last few years have seen this trend starting to be reversed; Wonder Woman, Captain Marvel, Birds of Prey, and the recently-released Black Widow have all showcased super-powered female leads and been (for the most part) big successes too.
So, anyway, inspired in large part by the fact I’ve watched both Wonder Woman and Black Widow this week – and with an eye on future female-focused flicks too – this week is dedicated to my favourite filmic femmes (hmmm, there might be such a thing as too much alliteration. I need an avalanche of Advil…). I’ve tried to be pretty strict here and only use movie superheroes – although I’ve stretched that to its limit, as you’ll see. And, like I said before, I’m allowing “anti-heroes” – hey, I had a whole list about them last week, might as well double down! And I know what you’re thinking – surely, in over nine years of making stupid lists on a weekend, I’d have done this before. But no, I checked, and apparently I haven’t. Really I should have scraped the bottom of this particular barrel by now, but fortunately not!
There’s not much more to say at the moment really. Here are my ten favourite female superhero-type characters from the movies. I’m tempted to make some kind of terrible, cheesy reference to “girl power”, or end with a “you go, girl”, or something like that – but let’s face it, that’s a really, really bad, hackneyed idea. Let’s just get on with the list instead.
Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot, DCEU, from 2016): there can be only one! Yeah, still the best female superhero on the silver screen in my book. Gadot gives her the perfect blend of steely determinism and wide-eyed naivete; full of faith and righteousness, but also a fierce fighter. It’s clear from the moment she blasts, fully-formed, into Batman Versus Superman Colon Dawn of Justice that Gadot was born for this role, encompassing every aspect of Diana – the princess, the warrior, the ambassador, the goddess. Like Superman all those years ago, her solo film is equal parts optimism and pragmatism, and (despite the dodgy finale) it remains a wonder. Sorry.
Raven (Tara Strong, Teen Titans Go! To the Movies, 2018): here I go, cheating already. Yes, Raven is mostly from a TV show and I’ve decided this is a list of movie characters. But she is in a movie! And she’s the main character and focus of the straight-to-DVD sequel, Teen Titans Go! vs. Teen Titans. So yes, whilst her sole cinematic outing doesn’t really show her off to the greatest degree, she’s still amazing. A deadpan, dark-tinged comedic tour-de-force from voice veteran Strong, Raven is profoundly hilarious, one of the all-time great sarcastic pieces of comic relief. And, whilst we’re talking about the DVD sequel, Strong does a terrific job differentiating between the sillier, looser Go! version of the character, and the more sombre and serious OTT animated Titan.
Laura (Dafne Keen, Logan, 2017): otherwise known, in the comics at least, as both X-23 and, latterly, Wolverine. Laura is a frankly outstanding performance by a child actor. Steely, determined, pissed-off, wounded, proud, but still coming across as a child and not at all precocious or precious. And then there’s her physicality; she storms through the screen, a whirling dervish, leaping around and, frankly, slashing the shit out of everybody. She holds her own against the nuclear charisma explosion that is Hugh Jackman, and against the titanic chops of Sir Patrick of Stewart, and brings a huge amount of heart and pathos to one of the best superhero films of all time.
Catwoman (Michelle Pfeiffer, Batman Returns, 1992): yeah, okay, she’s not really a superhero. But Pfeiffer’s performance is phenomenal; one part sheer unadulterated sex appeal, one part wronged woman seeking revenge, one part utter batshit craziness (no pun intended). She created interesting layers of manic craziness to a character already a good fifty years old at that point, informing the portrayal of the character in comics and cartoons, and her chemistry with Keaton’s Batman lights up the screen. And, frankly, she was so damn sexy that she gave puberty to an entire generation.
Rogue (Anna Paquin, X-Men movies, 2000-2014): presenting Rogue in the first X-Men as a younger character, without her stolen Captain Marvel powers, was a masterstroke; making her the audience surrogate as a way to introduce the X-Men themselves and Logan in particular, giving the latter character one of his comic-book trademark young female proteges. Paquin does a tremendous job giving her an inner strength despite her heartbreaking power, and although she fades from prominence as the (increasingly bonkers) series progresses, she continues to give it everything she’s got, even if the films don’t do her sufficient justice. An excellent portrayal, sadly cut short.
Elastigirl (Holly Hunter, Incredibles movies, 2004-2018): ah, our first non-comic book character! Hunter is brilliant in this role, presenting Elastigirl as a feminist icon even as she’s forced into an increasingly domestic role. Despite the risk of her being portrayed as a shrill nagging housewife, stomping on Mr. Incredible’s fun, Hunter (and the script, to be fair) walks a fine line, and we as viewers are actually on her side as her husband takes foolish risks. And then, when the action kicks in, she’s amazing – full credit to director Brad Bird and the animators and Pixar. The sequel, which is mostly more of the same but still pretty great, gives her even more lovely character beats.
Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson, MCU, 2010-2021): I’ve given it an end date but let’s face it, none of us will be surprised if she turns out not be dead. The first real female superhero we see in the MCU is still the most important and effective. Johansson does a great job fleshing out Natasha, overcoming the cheesy nature of her debut in Iron Man 2 and some of the problematic wrinkles given to her in Age of Ultron. Over the series of films, she is a consistent action superstar, but also gives us interesting layers and wrinkles and depth, evolving from the badass assassin we first see to the hard-bitten leader in Endgame. Her belated solo film gives her some great opportunities to correct those early missteps, as well as deepening the character even further, and showcasing her action chops. A great character, but it would be nice if we knew there was even more to come.
Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie, DCEU, from 2016): another DC not-quite-hero, Robbie does a phenomenal job as Harley Quinn, one of those lightning-in-a-bottle perfect pieces of casting (and, I’ll be honest, the only other actor/character match-up that’s quite as perfect on this list is Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman). Harley is a character who can be so easily misused: the abused moll, the bit of eye candy, an objectivised woman denied agency who’s only seen through the lenses of the men. And, true enough, there’s a bit of that in her debut in Suicide Squad, but Robbie is smart enough and her performance strong enough that she transcends the muck that surrounds her. She nails the accent and the demeanour, and in what we shall choose to call her solo film, she gives us a raucous, hilarious performance as an emancipated Quinn, blasting through police stations with glitterball shotguns and snapping limbs left right and centre. It’s the anarchic anti-hero of modern comics turned up to 11 and with the pottiest of mouths, but she’s also smart enough and skilled enough to give us embers of a conscience beneath the crazy, and offers up some great character beats and a believable relationship with Cassandra Cain. I can’t wait to see what she does next.
Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen, MCU, from 2015): Here we have another performance that matures and develops over the course of a franchise – surely one of the greatest aspects of Marvel’s multi-film narrative arc. Coming in as a minor villain in Age of Ultron, Wanda is powerful enough to temporarily get the better of the Avengers just by being “weird”; subsequent films see her attempting to be a hero, suffering a series of tragedies, falling in love, and coming together to save the world in Endgame. In what amounts to a series of snapshots – a photo montage of ongoing character development – Olsen is able to flesh out Wanda, giving her depth, showcasing different facets of her character, and making her consistently believable. Yes, I know I said this was a list of movie characters, but it’s stupid not to own up to the fact that this all comes to a head in the frankly phenomenal WandaVision, which – despite having two Avengers’ names in the title – is really all about her. The series leaves Wanda in a totally different place, and as we see her next in The Multiverse of Madness, I feel like her story is only just beginning.
Jean Grey (Famke Janssen, X-Men films, 2000-2017): I mulled over whether to include Jean Grey here or Valkyrie from Thor, but despite Tessa Thompson’s terrific performance, I’ve gotta go with the Phoenix. Back when superhero films weren’t a cinematic religion, Janssen gave a terrific performance as a resolute, thoroughly sensible Jean Grey; a telepathic Girl Friday to the officious know-it-all that was Professor X, she shows intriguing cracks in her façade when confronted with the gruff and unutterably sexy Logan. Clearly a powerhouse without needing to show off, she gets more development and some great hero moments in the phenomenal sequel, before being giving an epic sacrificial send-off that sets up a rise from the flames that never really comes. Yes, despite being brought back in The Last Stand, it’s a storyline that’s fudged from the start, and the Phoenix as a mopey emo version of Jean just doesn’t cut it. It’s a storyline that’s handled better, but only just, in Dark Phoenix, but that film sadly doesn’t have the weight of character behind it; despite the excellent work of Sophie Turner, we’re barely introduced to the character in Apocalypse before hints of the Phoenix are coming forth, and next thing we know she’s going all crackly and accidentally killing dudes. So yeah: I prefer the OG Jean, and Janssen’s great chemistry not just with James Marsden’s Scott but Jackman’s Logan really does justice to that element of the comic book character too. Still, two timelines, two actors, two versions of the Phoenix Saga, and it still ends in disappointment. Hopefully we’ll get a better version eventually in the MCU.

Okay multiple thoughts:
1. How do people not immediately fall in love with you you’re so pretty!! Especially your mouth (okay that sounded much dirtier than it was meant to)!
2. I’m just gonna go off about representation in TV shows and especially Supercorp, because I’ve been feeling it recently:
So many TV shows and books and movies have these main female characters who are heroes but then they have them be all oh I am tough and I don’t cry or have emotions or like love people a lot. And then Supergirl comes and Cara is just this sweet incredible strong vulnerable hopeful hero who both wants love and want to change the world and that’s like something I’ve been longing for for so long and it was so incredible to see her on screen. And then comes a Lena who is this bad ass fucking incredible, powerful woman, who is damaged and beautiful and the point isn’t like it takes her three seasons to open up the point is Cara shows her love and she feels like she found her place. And some thing about those things is so meaningful and important to show that the point isn’t to be tough and strong point is to love and be loved in return. And then you have all of these little girls and boys and non-binary people in all of the other genders and they’re watching this show and you have all of these teenagers we’re trying to figure ourselves out and they’re watching the show and they’re seeing these characters or both strong and vulnerable and communicative and Smart and just tell me where that is in our society. And then you have Cara and Alina in this beautiful friendship together that means so much to both of them and all of their friends and viewers and current defense Lena against all bad and Lena bought a fucking company for Cara and they have so many scenes with their romantic interest there just like parallel the scenes with each other and each other scenes are always better. And I just keep thinking about all of those teenagers and kids who are watching this and figuring themselves out and thinking that these are these incredible beautiful powerful people but they wanna be like and how incredible would it be for them to see this queer representation in these women that Big love! I just keep thinking about how everyone says things like oh well Supergirl has so many queer characters in such a diverse cast like why would they need another queer ship and just like you can’t tell us to be content with what we have and what we have isn’t good enough right? And and I I think part of it is also that all of these characters who are queer and diverse are these really important but side characters in the main character is the ones who run the show the ones who everyone really watches it for or not and how powerful it would be for someone to see a show and see the two main characters have this beautiful romantic healthy relationship with each other and their two women I’ve just never seen something like that outside of Shira and that just happened. I also think it’s so rare that you see relationship where it’s built on this foundation of not enemies to lovers not even childhood best friends to lovers but allies to slow friends to slow best friends to completely in love in such a healthy way with such trust and emotion and just adhkitsb. I just think it’s so important. And then there’s this thing with supernatural which I assume I don’t have to explain because you’re on Tumblr and that’s a CW show and Supergirl is a CW show and half of me is like well they’re getting so much pushback from how they ended supernatural not the Latin American version of course that will have to be like no we’re not homophobic see currently not getting together the other part of me thinks like if they’ve done that then I’m just gonna be like well currently not getting together either because they’ve shown a president that they can’t do that. Also, I feel like even if they do get together it’s going to be some last minute bullshit kiss where it’s like the last 10 minutes of the series finale and then we never see them again and that’s not fair to the queer community either. Like yeah it’s better than not having to be together at all, but I’d like a relationship it gets old I don’t know like five episodes at least preferably around 12 preferably a whole season preferably a whole lifetime.
To the men in the writing room, we aren’t real. We’re just a demographic, an imaginary group of hypothetical humans who don’t exist outside of their Twitter @s or paycheck. They don’t sit down and think “when I write this script, I’m going to be extra careful not to stunt the emotional growth of young queer people, and women especially!” They don’t follow the story, don’t follow what would make sense or what reflects the experience of their characters. They follow the money, and only the money. It sucks. It sucks so badly, but that’s just how capitalism works, so we carve out our own spaces: “Oh, you want to deny the fact that we exist? Okay! Never mind shows, we’ll find something else!” So we find those spaces that fit us so perfectly we can almost forget the other ones exist. From artists-- girl in red, mitski, hayley kiyoko, mxmtoon, king princess, etc, to books-- and every young adult novel geared towards people like us has absolutely soared, just look at Rainbow Rowell, to websites-- because let’s not pretend that sites like Ao3 and to some extent Tumblr are for straight people, to clothing-- think about doc martens, to little color schemes and hand gestures, just really trying to normalize this part of ourselves that’s so deep and so naturally there, and maybe even the Dream smp, when you think about it.
If I had seen myself represented in even one kids’ show growing up, it would’ve changed my life. I didn’t even know gay people existed until I was eight, and I’d already had my first crush on another girl by the time I was five. I remember being so confused about why I felt just like the princesses in the Disney movies I so adored, remember noting that my feelings towards her resembled the romance I’d seen in every kids’ film, but feeling confused and off because this isn’t right. Why was my prince a princess? Why didn’t I feel that way about one of the boys in my grade?
My whole childhood, there’s only been straight people. My parents would put on shows, would give me books about straight people. Once I figured out that queer people existed, I had to seek out that content myself if I wanted it. And no matter how gay we are, there’s still a part of people’s minds that treats us like we are straight people. Take me, for an example: I came out to my parents as lesbian in fifth grade, and they’ve still made me keep my door open when having male friends over, while letting me sleep in the same bed as female and nonbinary friends with no problem.
My sister’s life has been different. Since she was a baby, I’ve been upfront with her: “Hey, do you want to meet my girlfriend?” “No, I won’t have a husband someday. I’ll have a wife though!” And already, at the age of four, I watch her live as herself without shame, happily telling our parents that she’s “very in love” with the girl next door and telling them of her plans to marry said girl when she turns five. That’s the beautiful difference it can make to have even one person showing you that queer people exist.
I wish I could tell those writers that it’s really not just for media points, not just to appease a certain demographic. It affects us, our world, our minds, the way we love. It’s important.
also thanks for complimenting my mouth lol :)

Batwoman: Don’t Believe All The Negativity
So Batwoman premiered tonight
It's about an out-and-proud lesbian, played by an out-and-proud lesbian, with several major cast members- INCLUDING the main love interest- being POC, and it's very gay, this is not your "Power Rangers- let me quietly hint at being gay for One Scene and never mention it again" type of representation, there's lots of kissing, "I love you"s, goofy initial carvings, and serious issues like homophobia in the military and lying about your sexuality to avoid persecution
This is Tumblr bait if I've ever seen it so imagine my surprise when I barely get a few scrolls into the tag and already see people hating on it for not being queer enough because Sophie is married to a man
Hahahha..... I'm pissed
Allow me to advise ya'll to sit down as I explain why this is the OPPOSITE of a problem
First of all I cannot believe that on TUMBLR of all websites I actually have to explain to people that being in a heterosexual relationship- even married- does not automatically cancel out your queer ship
Shows have been putting their charectors through divorces and widowing for decades and it isn't going to stop now, in fact, I'll be THOROUGHLY surprised if The Husband makes it to see the end of the season
But I digress
We'll come back to shipping later because right now I'm going to tackle the biggest problem I have with these "You guys are making her straight!!!!" posts I keep seeing: CLOSETING. DOES NOT. ERASE. QUEERNESS.
I cannot believe I actually have to say this at the home of ships like Destiel, Sterek, and whatever the fuck legion of ships that Voltron produced but being in a straight relationship does not make someone less queer, ESPECIALLY if the relationship is fake, and ESPECIALLY if they have been ALREADY CANONICALLY SHOWN TO BE QUEER
Look I ship Destiel and Sterek and Supercorp too but "closeting" is a THEORY for these ships- with Sophie, it's CANON, she was in a canonical relationship with another girl where she kissed her and said she loved her and planned a future with her and the only reason she's not still with that woman is because was threatened to be kicked out of the military for it, I cannot process how the home of "They're in a straight relationship because they're closeted" is actually trashing this
But even THAT'S irrelevant because I can already hear some of you screaming that you don't ship any of those things but listen to me: Closeted charectors are just as important as out-and-proud charectors are
We live in a world where people are STILL being murdered for their sexuality every single day, where kids are still being sent to conversion therapy, still being kicked out of their houses, still being forced to be in straight relationships out of fear for their LIVES if they aren't- and fear for their jobs, their families, and everything else
I bought my first pride flag yesterday and hung it up today and legitimately my first thought was "gee, I hope this doesn't attract any crazy Trump supporters who are going to light my house on fire" but I did it anyway because I have supportive parents and have NEVER made my sexuality a secret and anyone who talks to me for ten minutes is PROBABLY going to hear atleast 1 "lol I'm bi" joke and I haven't been threatened with bodily harm for it YET so I figure I'll atleast probably live through the night
Other people aren't that lucky
For as important as it is for out people to have our Kate Kanes, it's JUST as important for closeted people to have their Sophie Moores
Please don't take away from the fact that the CW is trying to give that to people just because it means The Ship isn't happening Right Here Right Now
Please don't try to take away Sophie's queer identity because of being closeted
This plot development gurantees us atleast a season of Sophie exploring her identity and circling back to the question of "Do I really value being a member of something that's going to hate me for who I am over the woman I love?", we're going to have a season of her exploring what her identity means to her and we're going to get a really great juxtaposition between one lesbian who's out and proud and telling the story of pining for a lost love and how to navigate Queer Problems being out, and another who's closeted and afraid and in love but doesn't think she can return and how to navigate Queer Problems being closeted
That's GREAT??????
Why are ya'll complaining??????????
That's not something that we get very often???????
Also by arranging Sophie's story this way the CW is trying to AVOID giving us the same problems we always complain about like tokenism and Burry Your Gays, let's be totally honest here, if Kate and Sophie started off in a happy relationship and stayed that way through the beginning of the show, then for Conflict Reasons something way worse was going to have to come along and ruin that- like, you know, probably death? Or cheating, or a petty fight, or Sophie being evil....
This gives us a really NUANCED reason for why there's a story of pining and trying to get back to eachother here
Much like Alex and Maggie in Supergirl, the writers were clearly trying to take care to give us what we needed from a plot standpoint WITHOUT shoving gross stereotypes and tropes down our throats or making one person out to be The Bad Guy in the relationship, because yes you can read Sophie that way, but I think anyone who's ever been closeted can probably sympathize with her about this, esepcially as we don't know the nature of her home life, yes she signed the Gay Lie Document so she could be in the military but we don't have any indication that that was her only reason for giving Kate up so easily
For all we know, going home with Kate may not have ever been an option to begin with
And it's really hard to blame someone for risking their life and the life of their partner for wanting to be Out, especially if they were raised to believe that queer = bad, but I'm getting off topic
Instead of doing what alot of superhero stories do and fridging Sophie- making Kate's reason for doning the cowl to be revenge for her dead lover, they gave us somethin much tamer, something that will last all season but without lowering the number of main queer charectors on the show, they used the same trope that The Straights always use about becoming a superhero For Love but they did us one better because The Girlfreind isn't dead like she would have been in.... SOME.... stories....
But I promised to get back to shipping and here we go-
Aside from the fact that they're priming The Husband to get killed off early on just by virtue of existing (an unimportant charector who will greatly emotionally impact the love interest and create an opportunity for her to pursue the main protagonist, possibly even becoming a hero or a vigilante in her own right for revenge) there's also the fact that Sophie is hardly Kate's only chance at a relationship
If I'm not mistaken, they've already cast Renee` Montoya, and Maggie Sawyer already has an established charector in the Arrowverse too, so if the actress ever wanted to dip her toes back into the superhero waters, she could appear for a bit of time as well- wich would also be prime subplot territory for the next crossover, considering her history with Alex Danvers on Supergirl
So even IF they damned poor Sophie to Straight Hell for the rest of eternity- and I HIGHLY doubt that- do you really think that a show on the CW that opened with a love story is just going to let it's lead go without a love story for the foreseeable future...?
They're giving us a queer-lead show, wich means that it's going to be open to the same "UGH" romance moments that every other show on TV has, they're probably not going to give us an easy ride just because this one is gay like we get out of the background relationships in other shows where the leads are straight and I honestly appreciate that
Sure, I'd love if Kate got the Yuri On Ice treatment where she was able to maintain a steady romance through the entire show with only very short-lived, very easy-to-resolve conflicts ever denting it- I'd love that for alot of shows actually, imagine all of the plot that could get done if the relationships weren't being killed off or broken up every five minutes- but I appreciate as a queer person that she's probably going to get a gallery of love interests just like every STRAIGHT protagonist gets and I'm happy for her, in that respect
But my point in all of this is just that... guys... we finally have it
We have a show lead by a queer actor playing a queer charector who isn't going to get straight-washed or muted down the line because issues of homophobia and her sexuality are coming up in the very first episode.... and ya'll are complaining because her love interest is in the closet and married to a dude to stay that way as if that ever stopped any ship on any show ever??? Really?
TL;DR: Batwoman is great and if she and Sophie WERE in a happy and stable relationship ya'll would just complain about the show being "boring" and not actually working to examine queer relationships so I guess there really is no winning with the people on this website

Alright 5x19 let’s DO THIS.
(Warning: This will probably be long.)
WE BEGIN...by visiting Leviathan’s underground speakeasy.
The shot of Lex in the glow of the Kryptonite is great, 15/10 iconic Kryptonian Killer.
But SPEAKING of things that are green and bad...Gemma’s outfit is stage magician meets Mera from Aquaman and WAIT, WAIT, I’m just now remembering that the character in the comics was linked to Atlantis. Is that why they’ve gone with a green motif for her all season?
Probably not. Either way, still gives me knockoff Mera vibes. (*whispers quietly* I don’t like Mera’s outfit either.)
(I’m reading the Wikipedia entry for Gamemnae and did you know: she was exiled from Atlantis for being blonde?)
Anyways!
That’s just a very long-winded way of saying that the costume is kind of a weird choice.
Then we’re back in Kara’s loft and finally, FINALLY...someone tells Lena that there are BIGGER FISH, STOP REMINISCING.
And then the Superfriends arrive on the scene and they are ready to throw down.
Honestly same bro, same.
Also M’GANN IS ON THE TEAM I love it please, SG, please, hire Sharon Leal full-time.
What is the current door-kicking tally--how many front entrances have the Danvers girls destroyed?
“Well the joke’s on Rama Khan and his big dumb gladiator outfit because I already defeated him once.” THIS. IS. WHAT. I. HAVE. BEEN. SAYING.
THE COSTUME IS SILLY AND NOT IN A FUN WAY.
Leviathan just has terrible fashion sense, is basically the theme of this season.
Oh my gosh M’gann being the one to suggest the multiple Karas and the WINK I love her, I love her so much.
PLEASE NOTE: That J’onn was like ‘the skirt is surprisingly comfortable’ but his response to the pants is, ‘they’re gonna chafe.’
J’onn J’onzz, Skirt Supporter.
Then the Alex suit reveal and ooof, ooooof, probably the wonkiest of the scenes, unfortunately. (Can’t decide if I appreciate the effort of the CGI Alex or if it’s simply too uncanny valley.)
Also, put a pin in the Alex suit reveal. We’ll circle back to it.
(Oh wait and also: Kara’s scream and J’onn’s reaction all A+.)
Breaking chronological order here to just touch on the highlights and maybe discuss particular chunks in detail SO...let’s get right toooooooo....
Rooftop scene with Alex and M’Gann! Nice! But also I was like, ‘Alex just...has a bazooka? ...Yeah that tracks.’ And then I remembered that she has the martian weapon...honestly kinda prefer my accidental headcanon that she just owns one.
Then back to Lena and Kara and we’ve come full circle because folks...they figuratively flew to Luthor-Corp...on a bus.
Oh if only that was the actual goal of this entire plot. I would applaud it.
SG writers, always: REAL threats come in groups of THREE.
I actually don’t mind it. They aren’t given a big introduction and amount of screen time, so it’s pretty unobtrusive.
Then we get a Luthor-Corp lab scene AND a good look at Alex’s suit so LET’S CHAT.
Okay first and foremost: not opposed to vigilante Alex! Especially if it means she can work with Kara a bit more directly.
Love the color scheme! Love the hood! Love that the boots are no longer the stealth wedge heel but are just...heels. Good, yes, good! Also love that you can see it’s basically built on top of her DEO suit which totally makes sense, as...I guess Alex is building the suit mentally, not physically, technically, but she’d still be using stuff she’s familiar with to put it together in...her...mind?
I also think the top portion sits better than the DEO suit, which had that awkward...square-ish portion that covered the front of the torso.
But hmmmmmm the eye makeup is...a statement.
Confused as to why they didn’t go with a domino mask...maybe it was an actor comfort thing but HMMMMM not my personal favorite, admittedly. (Also don’t love the lace up look on the front portion but that’s because it’s reminding me of some of the terrible costumes from Arrow.)
And then the hair clip, which. Okay. As someone who has been struggling to find a way to pull back short hair during this time of no haircuts...can’t be mad about it.
In fact, catch me over here, taking notes.
Alright, costume rambling OVER sorry for the tangent but, you know. New super suit, it’s always exciting.
I like that Kara had to deal with not being able to be out fighting the threat! That’s a good bit of character stuff there.
“William went after Eve ALONE?!?!?” “No super hearing!”
“Please, be careful.” “You know me.” “Yeah, exactly, that’s what I’m worried about.” And then a HUG and they’re just the best.
Dunno if I’ve mentioned it yet but I love the effects they use for Gemma’s ‘true form.’ Very cool and creepy.
Does Andrea just...not question Gemma’s evil villain outfit...or...?
Much like Alex’s super suit we’re puttin’ a PIN in the Brainy plot we’ll get there but FIRST...
THE KARA AND LENA CONVERSATION.
Do I think it should’ve come earlier in the season? Yes! Do I care at this point? ...Okay, still yes! But that’s another pinned point I’ll get back to, right now let us just bask in the beauty that is specifically, verbally laying out all the CRAP Lena put Kara through, and Kara making sure Lena understands THAT is what hurt her, not ‘working with Lex.’
“You never understood.” BINGO. “I know I hurt you by waiting so long to tell you my truth but what about all the ways you hurt me?” EXACTLY.
“I made one mistake, one mistake that was only ever meant to protect you and in return, all you did was hurt me in every way imaginable.”
Then Lena finally apologizes. For, you know, the stuff that was actually upsetting Kara. So. We got there. ...Eventually.
Then it’s off to save William and he’s talking down Eve! We love a noble journalist.
Kara cauterizing the bullet wound and William being like ‘DO IT no wait DON’T DO IT’ and Kara’s just like, ‘TOO LATE, IT’S DONE.’
RETURN OF THE POWER RANGERS SUIT NICE.
And theeeeen a lot of scenes that are fine but it’s mostly just legwork to get us to the bigger parts of the episode sooooo we’re jumping to...
Andrea! Pleasantly surprised with her part in the action of this episode. Had that nice moral conflict we saw in the front half of the season. It’s a little crammed in here, at the last minute, but. Still enjoyed seeing it.
A personal quibble on the visuals: I prefer the simple elegance of the season one hope speech, (Just a lone camera, in a rundown radio station XD) but I understand they had to convey ‘scale.’ Still think it’s a little much.
Oh man, totally forgot to mention, loved Nicole’s line read for, “Maybe you should’ve been meaner.” It was GREAT.
So there’s the fight against Rama Khan and his buddies, and Kara’s trying to talk people out of a MMORPG, AND Andrea shows up ready to kill somebody.
The drama! The suspense!
THE SCORE.
I have another quibble with the cutting back and forth on the hope speech and it’s largely to do with perhaps inadvertent implications regarding who has to grow from pain and what pain in particular, but that might just be a ‘me’ thing, reading the scene a particular way, so I’m just gonna move on and say LOVE TO SEE A HOPE SPEECH.
Also:
Supergirl: “I believe in you.”
The VR peeps and us, the audience:
Alright time to talk about BRAINY.
Admittedly haven’t loved double agent Brainy, which felt more like a, ‘let’s add some drama’ move than anything else.
I do still stand by my assessment that Brainy being a few steps behind Lex made sense given his distress re: Nia and the Superfriends.
But also...was a little wild, IMO, that he didn’t have...some way to at least circumnavigate the radiation shield? Or at the very least limit it.
But again. DRAMA.
All that said...wow. Loved the two Brainys at the end, there. Genuinely touching.
“Will you stay with me?” “Till the very end.”
BRAAAAAAAIIIINNNNNNNNY.
How do you make another Luthor reveal work when you ALREADY pulled the, ‘It was Lex all along!’ like, twice before?
You MAKE IT LILLIAN.
Like, dang it, I enjoyed it. How dare you, SG.
But THAT’S IT. NO MORE SECRET LUTHOR REVEALS.
The terminator look and death shriek for Gemma was fittingly creepy very nice.
But also WOW, she never interacted with Kara. I am DISAPPOINTED.
So anyways, that second Lena and Kara conversation!
It was fine. It’s fine. This is fine. It’s...it’s fine.
(Except that it highlights a problem with the way this whole thing was set up and it’s not something unique to SG! It’s a problem I’ve noticed with a lot of redemption arcs--which seem to be all the rage, as of late--and that is a disproportionate amount of bad things done by the one character, and putting off the turn until like, the last possible minute to increase the drama factor and thaaaaat...is not a super satisfying conclusion because it’s a HUGE amount of build up for a relatively small pay off. Like, as Kara is listing the stuff that Lena’s done, it’s kind of a stark reminder that Lena physically and emotionally hurt Kara on purpose which. Is a glaring red flag. That’s the kind of thing that needs to be unpacked, maybe! Given some space!
Which isn’t to say that characters should never be forgiven, or that they need to be excessively punished. It just needs time. So saving the ‘redemption’ part for the very end where the characters NEED TO BE HEROES RIGHT NOW IN ORDER TO HELP OUT it’s...hmmmmmm. Too rushed.)
AND SO, SOME FINAL THOUGHTS ON THIS, THE SEASON FINALE, AND THE SEASON AS A WHOLE:
Wow but I did not like the focus on Lena. Not fun. No thanks.
Which is only made worse by the trashfire that is the SG fandom.
Loved the moments of growth and agency for Kara, though.
Loved the big crossover! It kinda made for a wonky set up of Earth-38 plot vs. Earth Prime plot but honestly anything the writers set up in the front portion of the season was going to be at the very least interrupted, if not completely derailed simply given the nature of what they intended to do with the merging of the earths.
Like give me SG’s approach to handling the front half of the season over Flash’s any day.
Still too many characters! Still too much plot! Still weird pacing issues! XD
Forget it, Jake, it’s Supergirl.
Oh, honorable mention: The handling of Kelly! She was integrated so well into a nice intersection of plot points and characters that when she’s there to hack into the Obsidian stuff in the finale it’s like, ‘well naturally she’d be here.’ EXCELLENT WORK.
William and Andrea win ‘most improved over their intensely unlikable introductions.’
To be clear: I liked this season finale! And the fact that it all came together as well as it did is a testament to the skill of all the folks involved, considering the awful extenuating circumstances.
Though, upon further introspection, I think I really do dislike the CGI Alex. Too far into the uncanny valley, sorry.
IN CONCLUSION: Very, very sad that it’s gonna be a whole year, or possibly longer, before we get new SG content but, glad that the actors will have a little more time off than they usually might, and I’m all for holding off the production as long as possible, in order to keep folks safe.
WHAT are Lex and Lillian up to, like, specifically, and WHAT is Alex’s superhero name??? WILL the folks in charge of the new Superman show remember that it’s a Supergirl spinoff?!??! Find out NEXT YEAR only on SUPERGIRL! (And Superman & Lois!)
EDIT: I used the word ‘quibble’ twice which feels like one time too many, but also it IS a fun word to say. ‘Quibble.’ Ha. XD

too much love [one] // kara danvers
summary: Kara is under the influence of Red Kryptonite, and this impacts your relationship with her, seeing as you don't know that she is supergirl.
warning/s: verbal abuse.
part two
"Are you sure you don't want a ride to work? I'm sure it would be much quicker than getting the bus," I offered for the millionth time now, an amused smile on my lips.
I had spent the night at Kara's apartment last night because I fell asleep during our movie marathon; now the two of us were about to head out to work. I insisted that she got a ride from me to work, because I had a car and she didn't, but she was adamant on taking the bus for some odd reason.
Kara chuckled and pushed her glasses up the bridge of her nose adorably. "Honestly, Y/N, I'm good. I have to grab coffee for Cat anyway. I would only make you late."
I understood how true her words were, seeing as I began earlier than her, yet I still scrunched up my face with fake disgust. "But... the bus."
She laughed melodiously, it echoing around her apartment and sending butterflies to fly a storm in my stomach. "Let's just say that taking the bus is a..." she paused for a moment, before biting her lower lip to contain her amusement, "...a breeze for me."
I furrowed my eyebrows with confusion, not understanding her joke, but whatever it was seemed to humour her, which was enough to make me smile because she was happy. I smiled and pressed a gentle kiss against her cheek. Even though we'd been together for almost a year now, she still flushed an obvious shade of pink whenever I was affectionate to her. It was so cute.
"Come on, weirdo, before you get late and make your boss angry, or whatever she-devils get when their coffee isn't with them on time," I teased, grabbing her hand and pulling her to the front door.
Quickly grabbing her bag from the kitchen counter, she allowed me to pull her along, nudging me in the shoulder in the process, probably for my comment about her boss, Cat.
"She isn't even that bad, Y/N," she defended the successful business woman. "I don't get why you don't like her. Especially when you've never met her."
As we locked her apartment door and headed to the elevator, I explained. "She doesn't treat you as well as she should, and from the sound of it, she doesn't give you any opportunity for growth in your career. You deserve so much better." I gave her a knowing look as she purposely stayed silent. "You know I'm right, Kara. She doesn't even remember your name for crying out loud."
She moved her mouth, searching for a response, before sighing with exasperation, earning laughter from myself. Pouting adorably, she crossed her arms over her chest. I laughed even more, stepping into the elevator as I watched her stay on the other side of the doors.
"Before you explode, you might want to check the time and step in here with me. You're gonna be late, love," I informed her a little too enthusiastically for her liking.
Seeing the time on her wristwatch, her eyes widened, and she decided that racing into the elevator and punching almost every button on the panel was the right thing to do. The doors closed and she started to tap her foot impatiently, making me bite my lip as I watched with amusement.
"Sure you don't want that ride?" I offered once again, finding her current state extremely entertaining.
"Mhm," she hummed, glancing at me before looking straight ahead. "Absolutely."
I shook my head, unable to contain my giggles. I loved her to pieces, but she was so going to be late to work. Honestly. Who did she think she was? Supergirl?
***
"Y/N, this is absolutely amazing!" my boss gushed, his expression showing how impressed he was. It was surprising to see him this excited seeing as he only ever expressed three emotions: anger, annoyance, and hunger. The latter indeed isn't an emotion, but never say that to him or you'll get your own first-hand experience of his anger and annoyance combined.
Despite his implied difficulty as a boss, he was talented at what he did and recognised talent, too. This was another reason I was surprised. He thought I was talented.
"Wow, thank you, sir," I said appreciatively. "That means a lot to me."
And it also took me a whole month to plan and draw, I wanted to add, but didn't dare.
Maybe I should have said by now that I was an architect, and I had been working on a design for a while now. Finally completing it today, I built up the courage to show my boss, and unexpectedly, he was impressed with it.
"I'm gonna look at this in more detail tonight," he told me, shaking the papers in his hand before setting them on his desk. "Is this you done for the day then?"
I glanced at the clock on his wall, it reading almost seven in the evening. "Yeah, if that's okay with you."
Actually smiling at me, he nodded and motioned to the door. "Have a good evening, Y/L/N, you've earned it."
I returned the smile. "Thank you."
Excited to finally be done for the day, I packed up my things and made my rounds before deciding to ring Kara. She rang me earlier, but I was unfortunately too busy to talk for more than five minutes, and all I wanted to do right now was hear her lovely voice.
"Hello?"
"Hey, love," I spoke, a smile subconsciously forming on my lips when I heard her voice. "How was your day?"
"Uhhh...," she seemed unsure of her answer, making me confused. "Good. How was yours?"
Deciding to ignore the confusion, I answered, suddenly feeling all excited because I could share the news with her. "Awesome! The boss man approved of my designs!"
"Y/N, that's amazing!" she exclaimed, and it made me feel even better to know that she was happy for me. It made it feel that extra bit worth it. "I'm so pr-" She was cut off abruptly by a faint 'thud', and I furrowed my eyebrows.
"Kara?"
I heard her groans through the phone, making me stop in my tracks. "Kara? What is it? What was that noise? Are you okay?"
She hummed through the phone, before saying, "Hmm, yeah, sorry..."
"Kara, what the heck was that noise?" I questioned, still not feeling reassured with her answer.
It took her a few seconds to answer. "Oh, I walked into the door. Sorry, I'm just feeling a little dizzy right now. Can I call you later?"
"Of course," I said, though my worry was still evident in my tone of voice. "Kara, shall I come over? Are you feeling okay?"
"No!" she was quick to respond, only furthering my confusion. "Uh, Alex is here with me. I'm okay, Y/N. I think I'm gonna get some rest. I'll call you tomorrow, okay?"
I didn't feel good knowing she was feeling unwell, but knowing Alex was there eased that feeling just a little bit. "Okay... I love you, Kara. Get some rest."
Her voice was soft and kind, and I could imagine the matching beautiful smile that graced her lips as she said, "I love you, too. Goodnight."
I hung up and tried to ignore the uncertain feeling inside of me. She would be okay. She was probably just tired. Right?
***
Finishing earlier than usual on Fridays was definitely something that got me through the day, but it was different today. Kara hadn't called me this morning, or earlier on, and now it was lunch time and she still hadn't checked in. I had texted her a few times, and gave her a few missed calls, but no response. I was worrying too much, and now that it was lunch time and I was finished for the day, I worried even more.
I attempted to call Alex, several times in fact, but she wasn't responding. I had no idea what could possibly be keeping her busy, but it wasn't making me feel better. Next, I tried visiting Kara's apartment, hoping that maybe she was just sleeping the day away or something. But she wasn't there, and I didn't know what to do. All I could do was wait in my own apartment, hoping to hear something back from either of the Danver sisters.
So, that's where I found myself next.
I pushed open my apartment door and slammed it shut, needing to express my frustration somehow. Sighing heavily, I headed to the fridge in my kitchen, deciding food would potentially make me feel better. However, as my head was dug in the fridge's shelves, searching for something that wasn't out of date, a loud noise made me jump and hit my head on the shelf above.
Pulling myself out of the fridge, I rubbed the top of my head and turned around, wondering what that noise was, but I immediately grinned when I saw Kara standing there.
"Kara!" I raced towards her, only for her to do something unexplainable. She ran? I think? To the other side of the room? But it happened so fast that I barely registered it happening. Only one person could do that...
As I paid closer attention to her, I saw that she was wearing some sort of jumpsuit, with a small 'S' logo printed on it. She wasn't wearing her glasses, and she looked kind of like...
"You're– you're–"
"Supergirl?" she suggested, though her voice was nothing like usual; it was harsh, teasing, mean.
Eyes widened and eyebrows raised, I found myself staring at the girl before me with disbelief. Kara Danvers was Supergirl. But how? She couldn't be. Kara... the cute and clumsy journalist, the girl who couldn't even open the jar of pickles when I asked her to, the girl who grew flustered with the smallest of kisses.
Supergirl performed every action with confidence, and Kara was the complete opposite, stuttering over her words and being her clumsy yet adorable self. They were completely different. But here she was right now. As Supergirl.
"When did this– how did this– huh?" I was practically speechless. I didn't know whether to be amazed that she had all of these powers, or upset that she didn't trust me enough to tell me.
A devious smirk was on her lips as she looked me up and down. "Wow. If I knew you were going to react like this, I would've told you sooner."
I cocked my head to the side. She wasn't acting like Supergirl. She seemed more... malicious. Something wasn't right.
"Kara–"
"Yeah, don't call me that," she interrupted, pursing her lips and beginning to walk in circles around me.
I knitted my eyebrows together, wondering why she was acting how she was. Watching her, I asked, "Why didn't you tell me?"
She laughed, though it was dry and humourless. "Why would I tell you? So you can treat me like a child even more? Tell me what and what not to do? How to act? Who to be?"
I frowned as she stopped walking and paused in front of me, her eyes darkened with anger as she glared at me. The fact that she was radiating a strange red aura was freaking me out. This wasn't Kara, let alone Supergirl.
"What are you talking about?" I asked, searching her eyes for any sign of the loving, caring girl I had met a year ago, but she wasn't there.
Sensing my mood, her lips curled into an evil smile. "You're pathetic, Y/N. Constantly worrying over me all the time? Whether I'll be safe taking the bus to work? Whether my boss will be mean to me? Ha! Do you know amusing it was to watch you stress about all of these little things? Watching you deem me incapable of looking after myself?"
"Kara, I–"
"Oh, no," she stopped, laughing at my expression. "I'm not done, sweet Y/N. You were treating me like a child, like I couldn't care for myself, when all this time, I had more power in my little finger than you'll ever have in your life. The irony is hilarious, don't you think?"
As I watched her throw her head back in laughter, I couldn't help but feel my throat close up. I knew there was something wrong. This wasn't her. This wasn't my Kara. Yet, the harsh words that were coming from her mouth weren't making me feel any better. She wouldn't say all of this if she didn't mean it. And whether it was really her or not saying these things, they were coming out of her mouth at this very moment, and hearing the woman I love say all of these hurtful things pained me inside.
She stepped forward and rested her hand against my cheek. For a moment, I thought I saw Kara looking back at me. I thought she would tell me that this was a joke. That she didn't mean any of it, but she didn't. Because after patting my cheek slowly, she plastered a sly grin on her lips all over again.
Faking a pout, she said, "It sucks to be you right now, doesn't it?"
My lip quivered as I tried to hide that I was affected by her words, but she obviously knew, and was humoured by the situation.
"You're not Supergirl," I said, my voice wavering nervously. "I don't know what's happened to you, Kara, but you're not yourself. I know you don't mean all of those things."
Once again, she laughed at my words. She laughed so hard that she had to clutch her stomach to keep herself from crying with laughter. She looked like her old self, laughing at a terrible joke or something, but I knew she wasn't. She was laughing at me.
Walking slowly towards me again, her face was inches away from mine, and her eyes were cloudy and blue, murky with an evilness I never imagined she would possess.
"I don't need to be like this to admit how I really feel about you," she spat, and a wicked grin was on her lips. "I'm powerful. I'm smart. I can do anything I please, whenever I want. Why would I want you to hold me back?"
I opened my mouth to speak, but nothing came out. My eyes were filling up with tears, and I felt a sharp pain in my heart when I saw her staring at me like I was nothing in her life. She seemed satisfied with herself.
Stepping back, she began to walk to the window, and I saw as she glanced outside before facing me again. Winking, she said, "I'll see you around, Y/N."
Before she could leave, I extended my arm, about to make a move towards her, before deciding against it. Instead, I said, "Kara, wait!"
With amusement, she turned to meet my glassy eyes. "Oh?"
I sucked up a deep breath and tried to hold back the tears. "This isn't you, Kara. Please, tell me what's happened."
Sighing over-dramatically, she placed her hands on her hips. "This is very much me. But maybe you're not used to me having so much power, right? Being able to look after myself?" I didn't know how to respond, and she smirked. "Well, Y/N, here's my answer to that."
She blew a kiss my way before using her heat vision to blow up my toaster, making me duck immediately. My heart was racing as I turned around, only to see my toaster in flames. Quickly rushing over to put out the fire with my fire blanket, I tried not to think about the fact that Kara had almost killed me!
Once I sorted out the toaster, I looked back to Kara, only to see her winking at me once before flying away. As I watched her go, I felt my heart ache.
Kara was Supergirl. She thought I was too possessive and treated her like a kid. She hated me. I had just lost my girlfriend, and Supergirl had gone mad.
This realisation made the tears finally fall, and I soon found myself sitting on the kitchen floor, leaning against my drawer, sobbing. I missed Kara. The real Kara. I wanted her here with me. But I was sure she was gone. For good.

NSFW Alphabet List (Alex Danvers)
A = Aftercare (What they’re like after sex)
Alex loves taking care of you after sex. She’s initially so shy about touching you in any way, shape, or form after sex but she eventually got so used to waking up with you by her side that she can’t sleep right without you.
B = Body part (Their favorite body part of theirs and also their partner’s)
Alex has abs and arms of steel. She really likes how strong she is and how hard she worked for the body she has today. Alex loves how you trace her muscles after sex and how you always seem to marvel at her strength. Being able to pin you down during training sessions is always a plus.
Alex really loves your lips and the structure of your jawline. She loves it whenever you kiss her at random times during the day, and how she can return the favor by kissing you all over your face. Alex just loves being able to kiss you whenever she likes.
C = Cum (Anything to do with cum basically)
It took Alex a little while to learn how to make you feel good, but she has always been a quick learner. Alex has no trouble making you cum several times a night, and she loves it whenever you get on top and have her at your mercy for the night.
D = Dirty Secret (Pretty self-explanatory, a dirty secret of theirs)
Alex has always wanted to have sex with you in the DEO. It’s a fantasy that has refused to leave her mind the moment she thought of it. She has had to stop herself a few times from dragging you off to a room and having you all to herself for a while. There are times when not touching you is hard, but now that she is the director of the DEO, she has to keep some sort of professionalism in place.
E = Experience (How experienced are they? Do they know what they’re doing?)
Alex has had a few boyfriends, but you are one of the first women she had been with. She has had some experience, but not that much. Alex is always willing to learn, and her dedication to making you feel good is obvious from the first time the two of you slept together. There are still some things that Alex has not yet been exposed to yet, but you know the two of you have plenty of time.
F = Favourite Position (This goes without saying. Will probably include a visual)
Alex may seem really dominant when the two of you are at work, but when it’s just the two of you, she is incredibly soft. She will deny it to anyone who asks, but she loves it whenever you take control and just throw her on the bed. Alex loves being held down and having you let her know just how much you missed her.
G = Goofy (Are they more serious in the moment, or are they humorous, etc)
When the two of you first start, Alex is so nervous that she is just blushing and being a little embarrassed. But the moment she got more experience, she was a lot more relaxed and teasing with you. There are times when she does get serious (especially when she gets jealous), but you know it’s only because she wants you to be only hers.
H = Hair (How well groomed are they, does the carpet match the drapes, etc.)
Alex doesn’t have that much experience with keeping things trim down there, but she has done her research and knows what's up.
I = Intimacy (How are they during the moment, romantic aspect…)
Alex has never really been intimate with anyone, and it shows when the two of you start dating. It seems like she just shuts down without reason, and it upset you that she didn’t feel safe enough to confide in you. However, as time went on, Alex learned how to properly express how much she cared about you. Even though the two of you are always busy with work, Alex makes sure to take time out to get food from your favorite restaurants. She also sets apart time at least one night per week for just date night.
J = Jack Off (Masturbation headcanon)
Alex has never really felt the need to masturbate since she was always so busy with work and keeping up with Supergirl. But ever since you joined the DEO, she couldn’t stop thinking about what it was like to be with you. Alex would think about what it would feel like for you to top her, and the thought would be enough to get her going. But now that the two of you are officially a couple, there’s no longer any need for her to take care of herself.
K = Kink (One or more of their kinks)
Alex loooves to be called “Director Danvers” when the two of you are in bed. Even though she loves it when you’re in control, she can’t help but fall apart every time you whisper Director in her ear. Alex finds it very hot that you’re stronger than her (not many people can say that), so when you’re in complete control, Alex will do pretty much whatever you like. This is especially true if the two of you haven’t seen each other because of conflicting missions and such.
Because she’s never felt so close to anyone that she has dated before, Alex is down for anything and everything when it comes to you. After a while, Alex learns how to be a tease and draw things out before letting you do things to her. Alex isn’t into “harder” kinks, but definitely likes being tied up from time to time.
L = Location (Favourite places to do the do)
After a while of dating, Alex is willing to do things pretty much anywhere. Being with you makes Alex one of the horniest people ever. Sometimes the sight of you training new recruits will turn Alex on so much that she will just drag you to an unused cell and demand to do you right there and then. But for the most part, Alex loves going to your place because you are one of the few people that she feels she can be safe with.
M = Motivation (What turns them on, gets them going)
Alex loves watching you work out, and seeing you wear a tank top to show off your muscles turns Alex on beyond belief. She loves running her hands up and down your arms, and you love seeing the thirsty look on her face when she does. Alex loves making sure that you know how you are throughout the day, and she will casually sneak up on you during work and just brush against you. More often than not, Alex will just drag you off to show you that you’re hers.
N = NO (Something they wouldn’t do, turn-offs)
A major turn-off that Alex has is doing anything in public. Now that she is the director of the DEO, she needs to lead by example with her agents, and she can’t do that if someone catches the two of you in public. In that sense, she always makes sure the two of you are alone before being willing to try anything. Other than that, there aren’t many things Alex is against. She is always willing to try new things with you.
O = Oral (Preference in giving or receiving, skill, etc)
Alex didn’t really have that much experience with girls when the two of you first start hooking up, but one thing that Alex has going for her is that she is a quick learner. Whenever she’s feeling especially horny, all she has to do is to drag you to a more private place and just do you. Alex will always do everything in her power to make you feel as good as possible. There are times when Alex gets jealous and wants to make sure everyone knows that you’re hers, which makes walking steadily after the fact a major challenge.
Alex loves it whenever you take control of the situation and just eat her out. No one has really bothered to take care of her the way you do, and the way you make her feel whenever you’re eating her out is unlike anything she has ever experienced. You love taking care of her after a long day at the DEO, and Alex couldn’t love you more whenever she gets to cuddle you at the end of the night.
P = Pace (Are they fast and rough? Slow and sensual? etc.)
Alex loves taking her time when it comes to you. Everything else seems to be moving so fast in her life, the least she can do is to make sure she gets to enjoy every moment when she’s with you. There are times, of course, when Alex is feeling especially needy or jealous, but she is gentle whenever she is with you. Alex loves being able to enjoy the touch of your skin in the privacy of your room, and she makes sure you are enjoying yourself too.
Q = Quickie (Their opinions on quickies rather than proper sex, how often, etc.)
Quickies are almost a requirement ever since the two of you started dating. Even though Alex is against anything that might get the two of you caught, she loves to drag you into a deserted hallway and just take you right then and there. There were a few times when you were able to gain the upper hand, but that was only because Alex let you do so. But for the most part, Alex loves leaving you breathless and wanting more after she’s done with you.
R = Risk (Are they game to experiment, do they take risks, etc.)
Because Alex is still new to being in a serious relationship where sex is a regular thing, she is open to pretty much anything. Alex wants to try everything with you, as long as it’s safe of course. Being open to experimentation does not mean she’s open to seeing you potentially get hurt. Other than that, Alex is open as long as whatever she’s doing pleases you.
S = Stamina (How many rounds can they go for, how long do they last…)
Alex was promoted to Director of the DEO for a reason. Aside from her morals, of course, Alex has extraordinary stamina that would put most of the other agents to shame. If Alex is the one who is being dominant, she will not stop until all you can do is beg for her. Whenever you’re on top, Alex can go for round after round because she is enjoying herself too much to hold back. You’re usually the one to be out of breath first, and Alex loves giving you her favorite smirk after she’s done with you.
T = Toy (Do they own toys? Do they use them? On a partner or themselves?)
Alex doesn’t have that much experience with toys, but as always, she is a quick learner. Being with you has made her comfortable in ways that she never knew was possible, and Alex loves learning different ways to make you feel good. From vibrators to strap-ons, Alex knows her way around pleasing a woman, and she absolutely loves the way you make her feel whenever she’s in control. Feeling your body under her makes her feel invincible.
U = Unfair (how much they like to tease)
Alex doesn't have that much experience when it comes to teasing, but she gets the hang of it, there is no coming back. She loves subtly touching you in public and then just smirking at you like she didn't do anything wrong. There is no limit to how long she can drag out teasing you because sometimes it seems like she can go on forever. However, you usually get back at her when the two of you are in bed together. You'll tease her and make her wait until she pretty much wrestles you down and has her way with you. Alex is slightly more subdued whenever the two of you are at the DEO, but sometimes you see Kara scrunching up her face in an effort to forget ever hearing such filthy things coming from her sister’s mouth.
V = Volume (How loud they are, what sounds they make)
Alex loves it whenever you're loud for her. She can get pretty loud herself too, and this has caused her neighbors to give the two of you dirty looks. It's all worth it though because Alex loves to hear how good she is in bed.
W = Wild Card (Get a random headcanon for the character of your choice)
Alex is extremely shy when the two of you start dating. She hasn't had a person to just hold hands with. Before you, there was never anyone else who made her feel safe the same way you do. From resting her head on your shoulder to holding hands and walking to the movies, she wants to do everything with you.
X = X-Ray (Let’s see what’s going on in those pants, picture or words)
Alex has muscles of steel and you both know it. She loves the way it feels to pin you down and have you writhing helplessly under her.
Y = Yearning (How high is their sex drive?)
Alex has had an extremely high sex drive ever since she met you. Part of the reason was that she wanted to spend every waking moment with you, but the biggest reason is that she finds you extremely hot. So, this causes Alex to want to have sex with you all the time.
Z = ZZZ (… how quickly they fall asleep afterward)
Alex is able to knock out pretty much as soon as the two of you are done with your activities. Even though most nights she really wants to cuddle, the fact that you are also a DEO agent makes both of you extremely tired. There are times when Alex is stressed about work and/or Supergirl, so she can't fall asleep right away, so she'll just hold you and stroke your hair as you drift off to sleep. Alex loves the way you seem to fit perfectly in her arms, and she always wishes these quiet moments could last forever.

August Picks
And so we’re back for another end of month wrap up! Looking back I feel like I didn’t watch too many new things; I finished a few shows that I talked about last month (the 100, Blood & Treasure to name a few). I guess it’s good I watched less-maybe I went outside more?
Spoilers....
DERRY GIRLS SEASON 2
You all already know how much I love this show, so it shouldn’t be a surprise that I’m starting with it I was SO EXCITED to hear that season 2 was coming to Netflix August 1st and I tried my best to drag out watching the episodes. But it’s really really hard when there’s only 6 of them (a half hour each) and they’re just SOO GOOD! So I finished in about a week, but I guess that’s better than a day. I can’t believe I’m saying this, but I think I enjoyed season 2 more than season 1. I laughed so hard (and got a little teared up in the last episode-especially afterwards when it was over and I discovered that next season won’t start filming until 2020!) I LOVED the stories this season and how the adults got more of a major plot-line in each episode. At times I laughed harder at them (at the movie theater, Gerry making the sandwiches at the funeral). More people seriously need to check out this show. It’s hilarious and a quick watch that you won’t want to end.
KRYPTON SEASON (SERIES) FINALE
Syfy’s Krypton ended a few weeks ago, but I was holding off watching it until last week. I know I had said this in my last review, but this season was tough for me to get into, but once I did then I was really enjoying it. However, once we got to the last couple of episodes I was losing interest again. Plus, hearing that the show was cancelled made it harder to finish. SPOILERS! So, we knew they had to defeat Zod and it made sense that he is now under the Black Mercy (like Lyta was), but obviously this is only a temporary fix. He’ll definitely find his way out; he’s smart. Then Brainiac and Doomsday are still an issue, so while things are safe for now things didn’t exactly get settled. Now I get they thought they’d get a third season so things would have to be resolved later, but this still feels like a lot. Of course I’m upset that we won’t see Jor-El getting rescued AND the next season build up with Brainiac taking him to Earth to create his very own “Superman” seems really interesting. But we won’t see it. Meanwhile Nyssa is off world and Lobo is back (he was funny so I was happy to see him again). Like I said, I’m not surprised the show got cancelled, but I think a third season would have been good. What do you think?
CATCHING UP
ARROW
It might have been MONTHS in the making, but I FINALLY caught up and finished Arrow season 7. I was only 3 episodes behind, but it took me a very long time to complete. My main comments on this season was that the beginning was good and the rest was eh. I liked Oliver in the prison and while I was done with Diaz very early on I was happy to see that story-line resolved. Now, while I did take a very long time to watch this season in entirety (and that might be the main reason I feel this way), Oliver being in the prison feels like A LONG time ago (and a completely different season). When I look back on this season I really just think of him and Emiko who I was not a fan of. We lose Thea and welcome another half-sister who we learn knew about the sinking of the Queen’s Gambit before anyone else. The constant back and forth of trying to save Emiko got very repetitive and while I know Oliver as the hero could not give up on her fully, I wanted him to. I was also not a huge fan of the flash forward this year. At times I did like it, but I think the show did fine that one season when there was no added plot-line. The ending to this season was a disappointment. I was very curious how things with Felicity would end seeing as how she is not going to return for the final season. But overall it felt very much like a SERIES finale, which makes me worried for the last season. Will it just feel like a filler? How many people will return? Will we even be in Star City? Taking Oliver away like that sucked and I really hope he gets reunited with his children.
THE FLASH
As a big fan of all the CW Arrow-verse shows this past season I had a hard time getting into most of them and got VERY behind on episodes before just giving up on watching altogether. While Arrow was one that I was just a couple episodes behind for most of the year and Legends of Tomorrow I binged all at once the Flash and Supergirl dropped off my watch-list. This was sad for me because I had enjoyed these shows a lot, so now at the end of summer we’re giving it a second go! This month I began the 5th season of the Flash and am currently on episode 5? I only remembered the first 2 episodes, which shows you how long ago I stopped watching. I remember not being a huge fan of Nora West-Allen and this is mainly because they are making the actress seem a lot younger than she is. The mistakes she makes and her overall attitude feels better suited for a pre-teen/young adult rather than someone in their twenties. I’m still holding out hope that this changes as the episodes progress. I really love this idea of having Barry and Iris’ daughter in the past (because it feels very much like something Barry would do) and how they are still addressing the headline of the Flash’s disappearance. I feel like maybe as we uncover more about Nora’s past I will enjoy her character more. This season I like the return to the CCPD and Iris’ blog. Sometimes the alter-ego jobs get pushed aside and I am happy to see the return of Barry and Iris in the field as themselves. With this addition to her character plus the fact that Nora is being completely rude to her, I feel this is the most I’ve like Iris in a very long time. I love how she stands by her decision of keeping Nora’s powers a secret even though she hasn’t done so yet, and the fact that Barry is with her. I’m glad they’re finally taking her character to places outside of STAR Labs. I think Caitlin’s story-line of finding her father is really interesting as well as the origins of Killer Frost. This reincarnation of Wells will take some getting used to, but I already like his dynamic with Ralph (baby giraffe) and of course Cisco. (They are always the best.) I’ll continue watching and see if my feelings change, but I do feel that I’m getting invested again, which makes me happy.
MOVIES
Descendants 3
Should I be embarrassed that I am putting Descendants 3 on this list and I am a lot older than the intended audience? Nope. While this DCOM came out at the beginning of the month, it has replayed on Disney Channel dozens of times already so I feel I have watched it fully or in clips many times. Out of the entire series this movie is one of my favorites. I like the songs and the overall plot. The idea of having one of the hero’s kids become a villain was genius and really said something about people’s innermost character. My main problem with this part of the movie was that I wanted more repercussions for Audrey. In the end she almost dies and they bring her back and everything is good because she apologies. But her intentions seemed real at the start of the movie. Could they vanish that quickly? (Now I know what you’re thinking...this is a kid movie. Of course she needs to learn what she did was wrong. But I think it would be even more interesting if she didn’t or struggled with it. Either way she should have had some sort of punishment. I don’t think they should have welcomed her back so fast.) I really liked meeting new characters from the Isle of the Lost, the new addition of VKs in Auradon and Hades. I wish all the new VKs would have gotten more screen time as well as Hades. From the promos leading up to the film he seemed really important and the actual BIG BAD of the movie. I would have liked to see a little more of that. But I did really like learning he is Mal’s dad. I loved seeing Uma, Harry and Gil working with the Auradon group. Again, this drove the message home about working together now matter what your background. There’s probably a lot more I could talk about but these are really the main moments that stuck out to me/my main concerns. I know I’ll be singing the songs for a very long time.
Miss Austen Regrets
As a Jane Austen buff, it is probably very surprising to hear that I had not watched Miss Austen Regrets (2008) until last week. I knew about it, but am always cautious when it comes to a film adaptation of the author’s life; especially after Becoming Jane (which yes is a great movie, but not 100% accurate). It took learning that Tom Hiddleston was in the film to make me watch it. (I know, but just look at him. He’s got such a baby face.) :)
But a young and always good looking Tom Hiddleston should not be the only reason to watch this film (although it is a great reason). The movie focuses on Jane’s later years as she completes Emma. She visits her niece Fanny who is deciding who she loves and how to know what love is. In her early twenties, Fanny seeks advice from her aunt as to how to spend the rest of her life. Should she settle? Or wait for the man of her dreams? But what if he’s right in front of her? Her aunt, the author of romances, should have the answer, but in fact she believes she doesn’t. You get a little insight into some of Jane’s past loves and lots of echoes to Persuasion (one of the novels published after Austen’s death). I had just finished reading Persuasion for the second time and watching this film so closely behind it mirrored that tale of maturity, friendship and romance very well. Taken from the remaining letters between Austen and Fanny the movie feels authentic. Of course nothing can be 100% but I think Miss Austen Regrets does a very good job.
BINGEING
THE WALKING DEAD
And so the summer binge continues on. Gotta say that I feel pretty obsessed with this show now. You know you are watching a lot when you start to have dreams where you are fighting walkers. (And yes, that recently happened to me.) Currently I’m in season 5. Just finished season 4 this week, which I think might be my favorite so far. I really enjoyed their time in the prison and while I thought the episodes with the illness dragged at times, once the Governor returned it really picked up again. (Although I didn’t love the stand-alone episodes focused on him.) Then watching the group be separated and anticipating the reunions between them all was great. Terminius definitely seemed too good to be true and I am happy that (right now at least) it seems to be resolved. Now we are heading to Washington. I like seeing the new characters that I know will be a part of the regulars. It does make me nervous about some of the originals. Losing Hershel was tough. I’m not ready to lose too many more.

My Top Ships 2018
I really enjoyed writing this article last year. So here we go again. Check out my favorite ships from movies and TV this year.
12. The Goldbergs-Erica and Geoff
The Goldbergs has been one of my favorite sitcoms for a couple of years now and I have loved watching the development of Erica and Geoff’s relationship from a simple high school crush, to Erica discovering her feelings, to them now in the current season feeling like an old married couple at times. While they may still have their ups and downs I love how they are always there for one another and they are just adorable. Hope they’re in it for the long run like Geoff assumes they will be!
11. Throne of Glass-Chaol and Celaena
At the beginning of 2018 I started reading Sarah J. Maas’ fantasy novel Throne of Glass. Instantly I could see the love triangle emerge between the assassin Celaena, the crown prince Dorian and the head of the king’s guard Chaol. While book one looked more like Celaena and Dorian would be together I always held out hope for the latter. And then I read Crown of Midnight! That book was one of my overall favorites and I got to watch this relationship form. It was beautiful and then everything blew up. I started the third book in the series and was instantly disappointed because it felt like an entirely new series. So while I have stopped reading it since then Chaol and Celaena will forever be one of my favorite ships.
10. Supergirl-Kara and Mon-El
Mon-El returned to Supergirl last season and while Karamel was apart for the majority of the season viewers got to see a more mature Mon-El. There has always been much debate over his character as well as his relationship with Kara, but I have always been a fan of the Daxamite. In this season he returned to the present from the future where he was a part of the Legion of Superheroes and he was married. Kara, still recovering from the aftermath of season two, was thrilled to see him, but much had changed. While moments of this season were aggravating the two still had some great chemistry on screen. It was still very clear of their feelings for one another, but yet again Mon-El had to leave. This time taking Winn with him (which is a rant for another day). So while they might not have a future this is another ship that will always be one of my favorites.
9. Victoria-Lord Alfred and Drummond
This ship instantly pulled my heart strings and ultimately (SPOILER ALERT) crushed my soul. Lord Alfred and Edward Drummond’s relationship started in season one of Victoria, but truly got its own story line in season 2. As expected in this masterpiece drama there were twists and turns that kept this couple part. Given the time period two men could not be together and Drummond was engaged to be married to a woman. But what none of us saw coming was his death. I still cannot believe it. He will be truly missed in the newest season which will air in the new year.
8. Anne with an E-Anne and Gilbert
Netflix’s Anne with an E returned with a second season this year and we were blessed with more Shirbert moments between Anne Shirley and Gilbert Blythe. While the beginning of this season saw Gilbert at sea (going off from L.M. Montgomery’s novel), there were still some great moments between the two characters from Anne writing him letters about the “gold,” to Gilbert not noticing her hair and letting her know it was good to see her. And who could forget this important moment (above) from the finale. Fortunately for us the series has just gotten picked up for a third season. I cannot wait to see what’s in store next!
7. Daredevil-Matt and Karen
While against popular ships I found myself shipping Matt Murdock and Karen Page hard as I began season 1 of Daredevil this past spring. In season 1 I took every moment I could get between the two of them and then I was a little too excited when they got “together” in season 2. While it didn’t end well for the two of them there were some really great moments I find myself reliving on YouTube. I have not watched season 3 yet (mainly because I want to continue to watch the Marvel Netflix shows in order and I have only just finished The Defenders). With the recent news of the show being cancelled I can only hope these two end on good terms. (Even if it is not romantically as I may hope. Please no spoilers.)
6. Set it Up-Harper and Charlie
This romantic comedy quickly made its way into my heart and into my top 10 favorite movies (I KNOW). This is all thanks to its lead characters Harper and Charlie. These two assistants were witty, relatable and just had an overall great chemistry that I am upset they are not together in real life. I have honestly watched this movie far too many times and each time my love for this ship gets stronger. I feel like the movie ends too quick because I want to know more about what happens to them. It might ruin it but would it be too much to ask for a sequel, Netflix??
5. Legacies-All of them
Okay, so by saying ALL OF THEM I don’t think I’m necessarily cheating. This show is still in its beginning and still establishing itself. They are still finding their ships and we are discovering the characters. But I have to say I like so many of them that it’s hard to choose just one pairing. Julie Plec has done a FANTASTIC job of having a lot of her major cast interact with one another and they each bring out something different in one another’s characters. One day I’m shipping Hope and Josie and the next I like Hope and Raphael. You can really tell good writing and characters when you can like so many different combinations and not feel mad about it. If you aren’t watching Legacies make sure to tune into the CW because you are missing out.
4. The Originals-Klaus and Caroline
Yes, you did see this ship on my list from last year and that is because Klaus and Caroline are one of my top OTPs. I was excited to see Klaus on the Vampire Diaries so it is no surprise that I was beyond excited to hear of Caroline coming to the Originals in its final season. It was great to see the pair in the same room again. They were both parents now and had grown so much. Every time they recognized that in each other I got chills. So [SPOILER ALERT] while Klaus “had to die” I am extremely glad that he and Caroline got closure for their ship. In a way they were endgame and as a Klaroline fan, always and forever, that’s all a girl could ask for.
3. Dawson’s Creek-Pacey and Joey
Dawson’s Creek was my summer binge this year. I wanted something “retro” that was just about regular teens (no superhero powers or magic). Going into this show I obviously knew a good amount of spoilers seeing as how it started in the late 90s, so I knew that Pacey Witter and Joey Potter would eventually become a couple. I now just had to wait for the when...and while at times it might have felt excruciating, I took any and all moments between the two characters (even before season 3 when things really get set into motion). There is just something so great about a ship between two characters who “hated” each others guts and tease each other constantly. It was well worth the wait because these two have become one of my favorite all time ships. While I am permanently paused on season four (pre their first break up) I have watched a bunch of spoiler videos to know that these two wind up together, which warms the heart.
2. Brooklyn Nine-Nine-Amy and Jake
While looking for a new TV show to watch earlier this year it was suggested to watch Brooklyn Nine-Nine. (Only once I started binge-watching the show did it get cancelled and then thankfully renewed by NBC.) What a great choice it was to start watching this show. The void that was left by The Office and Parks and Rec was instantly filled by this sitcom. The characters and story-lines were hilarious and of course I couldn’t help but fall in love with the slow-burn of Amy and Jake. Again due to spoilers of coming into a show that already exists I knew the two would wind up together, but it was still so great to be a part of. The two are adorable and while the story line does not always revolve around their relationship you know they are still together by a quick line they say in a scene or two. They are just so right for each other. Right now I am catching up on season 5 (about mid-way right now) and I cannot wait to watch the next season premiering in January. So excited to see where their relationship is headed.
AND NUMBER 1 FOR 2018 GOES TO.....
1. THE 100-Bellamy and Clarke
That’s right last year’s number 2 became my number 1 in 2018! While separated for 6 years with Clarke on the ground and Bellamy in the sky the two found their way back to one another. You could definitely feel the tension between the two, which made complete sense after all their time apart but there was still something that brought them back together. My heart still melts when Bellamy finds out that Clarke is alive from Madi and seeing Clarke’s face when Bellamy tells Diyoza that she matters. This ship is the slowest burn of my life and while Jason Rothenberg may still claim that the two will never be (and that we should read the books for that) this latest season gave us Bellarke fans a reason to hope. From Octavia calling out Bellamy’s feelings and saving the traitor who he loves (OMG) to Clarke’s looks every time Bellamy and Echo were embracing. They are the first two to wake up out of the pods and meet Harper and Monty’s son. They are deeply connected and I can only hope for moments like this next season. For now I’ll just re-watch my favorite to hold me over (and that includes Bob and Eliza’s SDCC interviews which were adorable).
Here’s to another year. Cannot wait to see what is in store for 2019!!

DC Ladies and Why They're so Awesome
Barbara Gordan: So of course Im going to start of with a good part. Babs is probably one of the smartest people in the entire DC universe. She graduated high school early (at like sixteen) and went to college. She got her masters degree so she could be a librarian. In her 20's she became a congresswoman but apparently was too liberal to get re-elected. On top of this all she was batgirl. When the Killing Joke happened the DC universe thought they lost Babs. Not only did Babs stick around she became stronger. Babs used everything she had and built up the Birds of Prey using her quick thinking and computer knowledge to keep her team safe. Not only that but as Oracle Babs was the information keeper for the Justice League. She had every single superheroes number easily accessible and knows them all personally. Also Babs became a Green Lantern! Like thats awesome. Babs has been at war with the Calculator for forever and has won every time. You can not tell me Babs isnt one of the best DC characters hands down.
Diana Prince: Okay I bet you're all surprised I didn't start off with Diana. I love Wonder Woman so much and there's so many reasons why. First off Wonder Woman defied her Amazonian sisters and went out to the real world. She didn't know what was out there and didn't really care. She wanted to promote peace and be a diplomat and that's what she was at least for a while. When Diana killed Maxwell Lord she regretted it so much that she decided not to be Wonder Woman anymore. Even though everyone told her that her reasoning was just (cause like yeah it was). Wonder Woman has this huge sense of responsibility and like how can you not love her for it. Also the fact she's more powerful than most of the Justice League and the Justice League knows and admires it. Yeah that's definitely a plus.
Mary Batson: Okay I love Mary and honestly I don't know much about her but I'm going to take a stab. Mary carries this sense of responsibility, she wants to be a hero and she's damn good at it too. When she lost her powers around Countdown she was devastated. When she got them back and become "Black Mary" that absolutely sucked. But she came back became Mary Marvel again and built herself back up. Mary is a key part of the Marvel family and I don't know what Billy would do without her. She's also still a kid. Like an actual kid. A teenager and she's out helping save the world. Yeah I have respect for that.
Kara Zor-El: Of course Supergirls on this list. Why would she not be? Okay supergirl has an interesting story. She's the sole survivor of not one but to planets. When she arrived on earth she knew nothing about the planet at all. She had to trust her cousin knew what he was doing to help her. She wanted to build a whole life away from being a superhero too. She just wanted to be a normal kid. She has her ups and downs but ultimately Kara is probably one of the best characters because she's realistic. She's written to be an angsty teenage girl who is still trying to figure herself out. Sure she's chronologically 30 years older than Superman (depends on what story you read) but that doesn't make her any less of a kid. Also she fought Darkseid and Lex Luthor while still figuring out her powers, she single handedly took down the entire Justice League and she's more powerful than Superman. I think that's pretty cool.
Dinah Lance: The Black Canary's name has belonged to like three different Dinah's at this point. But that doesn't make her any less awesome. Dinah is trained in all forms of martial arts and is thought to be the second best martial artist in the world. Yeah the entire world. Dinah is hot heated and can be moody at times but she knows what she's doing. Even after losing her Sonic Scream she continued to kick ass with the Birds of Prey. She did get her Sonic Scream back later while in the birds but she never seemed to rely on her powers, she always just used her gut instincts and quick thinking. At one point Dinah adopts a child who was being trained to be an assassin. She kept this child and even stopped being with the birds to settle down with Oliver Queen and have a family. Dinah is undoubtedly one of the best ladies in the whole DC universe.
Helena Bertinelli: Okay not only is Helena a superhero known as the Huntress shes also a school teacher. Helena originally was the daughter of Batman and Catwoman but at some point during Crisis she became a vigilante who was the daughter of a mob boss. After her whole family is murdered in front of her she vows to end the underground crime ring in Gotham. Shes pretty good at it and almost succeeds. Sure her methods arent well liked by Batman but she gets her job done. She joins the Birds at one point and actually gets a family. Babs gets her a job as a school teacher and Helena is happy again. Towards the end of the original Birds run Helena manages to take over the underworld and Gotham and manages to (almost) take it down.
Stephanie Brown: Okay Steph is the daughter of some low class supervillain called the Cluemaster. She becomes Spoiler as a way to make up for all the things that her dad did. She literally built herself up from nothing and became an amazing superhero. Steph might have never had a major standing in the comics but she was there in the background spoiling everyones plans. Also Steph got pregnant as a teenager. Like thats really hard to deal with. And she did it mostly while continuing to be a vigilante. Steph maintained a good friendship with Cass and when Cass ditched the title of Batgirl Steph took it up. While Batman never approved of her actions Steph did everything she could to be an accepted member or the batfamily. Plus she was briefly Robin which is really cool.
Cassandra Cain: Okay daughter of assassins is already cool but the fact she can speak solely with body language is amazing. Cass never learned how to speak and was trained to be the worlds best assassin. When she did learn how to speak she spoke few words. Despite that she maintained a great friendship with Babs and Steph. Babs trained her to be the new Batgirl and Steph ended up being her best friend. Cass is even better at fighting than Batman and she took down the Joker her first time fighting him. Not only did she break the Joker out of Arkham she beat him and sent him back just as easily. Cass had a great character arc and I just love her character. She really brought the name Batgirl to mean something entirely new and when she dropped it and gave the name to Steph she did it with honor. Cass did at one point leave to go run the league of assassins but she eventually came back to Gotham.
Talia Al Ghul: I dont know much about Talia but I think I know enough to write a paragraph about her. Talia is the heir to the demon. She trained as a child to be an assassin alongside her father Ra's Al Ghul. She also fell in love with Batman. But thats probably the least cool thing about her. I mean she is an assassin who will potentially inherit a whole army of assassins and be immortal. Like I dont know about you but I think thats pretty friggin awesome.
Selina Kyle: Okay Catwoman is amazing. She trained to fight under Catman which is pretty cool. Also like she controls part of the Gotham underworld. Selina is an amazing woman who is a great thief and she also has morals. She doesnt do killing (most of the time) and shes even been a hero for a while. Catwoman became a hero alongside Batman but at some point she decided to return back to crime. She's worked alongside the Birds of Prey a few times and at one point was even a member. Selina also decided not to marry Bruce because she knew marrying Batman might give him a reason not to be Batman anymore and she knew people needed Batman more than she needs Bruce. Also Selina helps girls on the street. Like thats a major thing. Helping kids who dont have much. Like thats great. Lastly she feeds and takes in stray cats and thats just wonderful.
Harley Quinn: Okay while I wouldnt consider Harls a hero persay (shut up new 52 and rebirth) she is still an amazing character. Harley is a genius, she blew through med school and became a psychologist. She built herself up from working at Arkham from the bottom all the way to working with the highest class psychos. Harls was also an amazing gymnast and she had tons of medals. After falling in love with the Joker she did some regrettable things but the fact she managed to get herself and she started to redeem herself shows a lot about. Harley now just wants to help people she wants to fix what she did wrong. Harley has a big heart and wants to do right and while she knows her methods arent that great shes trying hard. She just wants to please the people she loves and cares about.
Pamela Isley: Okay Ivy is a tricky character. She doesnt really have a set backstory or anything that I really know of. Ivy was a scientist and something happened that changed her physically. She became connected to the green. Now Ivy isnt really sure who she is. She became the Batman villain known as Poison Ivy and became an ecological terrorist (at least thats what I think they call her). Ivy really just doesnt know her place in the world. Ivy is wicked smart and she has patented a lot of biotech stuff and she made Harley the antidote that made her immune to toxins. She does end up re-entering the field of science a few times and is genuinely trying to turn a new leaf and become a better person. At first she didnt really understand that what she did was wrong she just wanted to help out the plants because she saw all these terrible things happening to them. For the most part Ivy is a misunderstood person who is trying to find her humanity.
Kara Zor-El (Earth Two): Okay Power Girl is a tricky character to figure out because she has so many different backstories due to the destruction and then reformation of the multiverse. Anyways Karen Starr is from another Earth specifically Earth 2. When she arrived on Earth 1 she learned there was already a Supergirl. She took on the name Power Girl and founded a company that focused on software (I think.) Shes older than Earth 1s supergirl and is kind of like a big sister figure at times even though her and Kara are the same person. The two also didnt start off on the right foot with eachother. Karen for a while led the Justice Society of America which is really flipping cool. Karen knows whats right in her heart which is what makes her like Superman in a way. Because like her cousin (even if the two arent really cousins on earth 1) she wants to help people.
Donna Troy: The original Wonder Girl will always hold a special place in my heart but I kid of want to focus on her time as Wonder Woman and also as simply just Donna Troy. When Wonder Woman quit being Wonder Woman Donna took her spot and she made a pretty great Wonder Woman. She doubted herself a lot and didnt think shed ever be as good as Diana she pushed herself up to the top and did it. As Donna Troy she was an amazing Teen Titan and she even cheated death. Her spot in the multiverse has been looked over a few times but her Roy and Jason last I heard were all kicking ass together.
Rachel Roth: Ravens a weird character Im not going to lie. Shes kind of mysterious. Rachel was a key addition to the Teen Titans, her powers are unmatchable in battle a lot of the time. Also shes the child of the demon Trigon. Rachel herself never really knew what to do with herself but while growing up she knew she had to do something and that she has to save people. She spent her teenage years with the Titans and continues to be with the Titans even if shes technically supposed to have aged out by now.
Kate Kane: Kate is one of my favorite characters of all time. Batwoman adds so much to the story and it covers a lot of things Ive never even thought of. Kate was kicked out of Westpoint under Dont Ask Dont Tell. The story talks a lot about her experience with PTSD, being gay and also being in the army. Kate runs a major business and is Batmans cousin. Kate literally gives zero craps about what Batman says and she does what she wants even if he doesnt approve. Kate has a big heart and ultimately she just wants to save her sister. After being kicked out of Westpoint Kate became a party girl and an alcoholic becoming Batwoman changed all of that for her. She became the woman she was meant to be.
Maggie Sawyer: Maggie Sawyer is a badass cop. Shes also Kates girlfriend and shes a mom. Being a cop in Metropolis is one thing but since moving from Metropolis Maggie has joined the GCPD. Being a cop in Gotham versus being a cop in Metropolis are to completely different things. Maggie can do it all and she works well under pressure. Shes an amazing cop and deserves so much more credit that what she gets in the comics.
Renee Montoya: Renee Montoya started out as another Gotham City Cop well until she became The Question. Also one of Kates ex girlfriends Renee has taken up Vic Sage's mantel and become the Question. She's a cop turned vigilante who is trying to do everything she can to keep Gotham safe.
Zatanna Zatara: So Zatanna is a magician. An actually magician with real magic and also a performing magician for kids. She does a lot of volunteering and loves showing her magic to the kids. Shes part of Justice League Dark and her powers are probably some of the most powerful in the whole DC universe. Zatanna can literally do anything just by saying it backwards. She doesnt get as much credit as she deserves but Zatanna is a kid with a big heart and deserves a lot more than she gets. Also did I mention she once climbed Mount Everest?
Courtney Whitmore: Not many people know much about Stargirl but this teenage girl is a key part of the Justice Society. Stargirl is a nobody without her Cosmic Staff but with it she is one of the greatest members of the JSA. Courtney has befriended Supergirl and has run around on all sorts of adventures before she could even vote. Her friendship with Supergirl is strong even if it isnt seen too often in the comics. Stargirl is just another kid who wants to change the world and who does manage to do it.
Lois Lane: Supermans girlfriend has ring to it enough but pulitzer prize winner Lois Lane is so much more than that. Shes an investigative reporter who strives to find the truth no matter the cost. Time and time again she goes undercover and risks her life for her job. She has no powers and no fighting skills just faith and a keen eye for a story. So sure while she's Supermans girlfriend she so much more than that. She's a woman who's going places and will always be independent. (Bonus: the first time Clark meets Lois she's yelling at some guy at the phone for being sexist)
Lana Lang: Supermans other girlfriend. Lana kind of got abandoned for a while but trust me she's still great. Lana takes in Kara while Kara is still struggling to figure her life out. Lana is the most supportive and loving person there is. She really cares about Kara and treats her like a daughter and as a best friend. Her friend ship with Lois Lane is amazing and Lana had an amazing story arc when she became possessed. Moral of the story never mess with any of Supermans girlfriends because they will fight back and theyll fight back hard.
Lady Shiva: If it wasnt for Lady Shiva Black Canary would be the best martial artist in the world. Lady Shiva is a long time Batman villain and not even Batman himself can beat her. Shes said multiple times that the only time he did she let him. She just wanted to know how worthy of an opponent he was. Shiva and Dinah trained under the same sensei together and have a mutual respect for eachother. For a short period of time Shiva even took Dinah under her wing to teach her new techniques no one else in the world even knew.
Mia Dearden: Speedy is hands down the best Green Arrow sidekick. And no Im not talking about Roy I really do mean Mia. Mia was living on the streets for the longest time and as a teenager. Constantly in the comics she talks about what it was like as a teenager being homeless on the streets, doing drugs and even selling her body just to stay alive. She became a great fighter while training with Ollie and Dinah and becomes the second Speedy. Mia is quick thinking and knows how and when to act. Later in the comics before she joins the Teen Titans she gets diagnosed as HIV +. That was the first time the DC universe made a character be HIV + and it hit hard for a lot people. Her backstory is really sad but its meaningful and really tells a lot about things that nobody knows anything about. Mia is a spunky kid with a lot of personality and she wants to help people.
Emiko Queen: Emi wasnt really around until she become the Red Arrow in Rebirth. She had her ups and downs but she stay devoted to Ollie throughout all of it. Emi is a tough character who really wants to be just like her big brother. She does at one point join a cult but then she breaks away from the cult to save her brother. Emi really admires Dinah and their friendship is great. Her story is still just starting to develop and its really cool to see where its going.
Zinda Blake: Lady Blackhawk has been no where in sight since New 52 hit. Im not really sure if theyll bring her back but I hope they do. Zinda is a hotheaded pilot who thinks more with her fists than she does with her brain. Shes a key member to the Birds of Prey and a true hero. After somehow re entering the continuity despite having to have originally been in WW2 Zinda has begun to fit right in with her weird accent and odd slang. I really hope she gets put back in soon.
Charlie Gage-Radcliffe: Misfits not really a well known character but shes a good one. Shes a spunky kid with an obsession with Batgirl. She takes on the mantel of Batgirl briefly before the real Batgirl, Barbara Gordan, stops her. Babs takes her in as one of her Birds and trains her. Charlie is just a kid and Babs knows it. Charlie doesnt get to see much action throughout the series but her character really grows a lot and she molds into this amazing character. Misfit is pretty impulsive and her mind (and body) tend to bounce all over the place. Charlie is just like any other teenager and she does everything she can to look on the bright side of every situation
Cassandra Sandsmark: Cassies Wonder Girl is what got me into Teen Titans. Cassie knows what she wants and knows how to get it. She can be short tempered but she had a really good heart. Her friendship with Supergirl is one of the best friendships in the whole DC universe. Cassie ultimately just wants to impress Wonder Woman. When she's not roaming around with the Teen Titans or on Paradise Island she's like literally every other teenage girl. Sitting at home argueing with her mom. Her power for her lasso comes fron her anger which she seems to carry a lot of. Shes still figuring out how to be Wonder Girl but shes become a valuable asset to the team. Cassie is a really relatable character and I love her for that. Her and Diana are a great pair and seeing them together is amazing. (Bonus: In New 52 Teen Titans she can put up a fight against basically anybody including Tim Drake and she hates the name Wonder girl)
There are more characters but this took me about two hours to write so Im going to cut it here. If anyone wants me to add any more characters let me know in the notes and I'll edit this. Also special shout outs to characters who I didnt have enough info on to put on here but are still equally as awesome: Martha Kent, Director Cameron Chase and Linda Park.

Bad Blood Chapter 1
Originally, this was meant to be connected to Young Justice: Demigods Arising but I have decided to tweak it a bit and make it the true Demigods Arising story of sorts. This is connected to the Osiris fic and whilst it is kinda Cassie-centric, it also focuses on other characters too.
"Any news about Cassie?"
"Nah. No one has found her yet."
Tim sighs. It has been a month since Cassie disappeared after her humiliating defeat to Vanessa for the Wonder Girl title. Part of her regrets that decision to have said duel take place. She made that decision not considering what Cassie was going through then. The poor girl lost her then boyfriend Conner Kent and later got dumped by him. Sure, Conner returned but their relationship soon turned toxic to the point where the two engaged in a physical altercation in the School Hall that caused Cassie to get suspended for two weeks. As a result of this, Diana decided to punish her not taking into consideration Cassie’s physical and mental exhaustion at that point. According to Tatiana, Cassie overtrained herself and that led to Cassie’s humiliating defeat.
And now it is too late, Cassie has gone and would never return and if she ever returns, the girl would have joined the Dark Side which should not surprise anyone given her heritage and the negative influence of people like Ares. As if that wasn't bad enough, Cassie's younger twin sister Tatiana also followed suit.
Adding more to the Cassie mystery is that she immediately deleted all her social media accounts on the same day as her defeat. That alone alarmed everyone as it is a well-known fact that Cassie loved taking selfies and playing around on social media and often talks to fans on there. But now that her presence is no longer felt, many began to panic, feeling that the poor girl might have committed suicide. This naturally led to the #JusticeForCassie campaign and #WonderWomanCancelled movement.
Please let Cassie not be dead.
Meanwhile in her room, Barbara was going through some files that she managed to dig up about HIVE case. So far she had managed to find some leads. Heck she can even say that she is far more competent and smarter than the entire Team as they are all a bunch of little kids. What was Batman thinking of putting little kids on a superhero team? Ok they are young kids, but they still could qualify for a wannabe superhero team since they all wear stupid outlandish costumes and use silly codenames, themselves and the so-called adults that call themselves Justice League. Seriously, what the fuck is that fucked up shit? Worst of the bunch as far as she is concerned is none other than Wonder Woman's little sidekick Cassie Sandsmark better known as Wonder Girl.
That girl is such a tragic trainwreck and a bitch. What did Tim and Conner ever see in her? What really pisses her off about the brat is that the girl reminds her of the stupid alien that Dick dated years ago. What was her name again? Oh yes Starfire. More like Hofire. Both of them are disgustingly beautiful. Starfire is a bit better because at least she can kick some ass. Cassie is completely useless that one forgets that she is supposed to be a fucking demigoddess yet someone like Damian can whoop her ass. She should even be able to go toe to toe with Supergirl and give her a nasty beatdown but nope, she gets her ass handed to her. Plus she dared to steal her Dickie from her.
Where did Diana find this child again? Oh yes, Diana did not find her instead the child fucking inserted herself into the Wonder Woman narrative just like Damian forced his way into the Robin title and never once earned nor deserved a single shit till recently. When will those brats learn? No wonder some people wished for Vanessa to take over as Wonder Girl. Ironically said girl is now Wonder Girl now how hilarious.
And alas, poor Cassie has disappeared and is nowhere to be seen. Well GOOD FUCKING RIDDANCE! Barbara cackles evilly as she still plays around on her system.
Meanwhile at Gateway city, Tatiana was in her room with tears in her eyes whilst Donna comforts her. Cassie disappeared immediately after that defeat. One could understand why because that sort of defeat is very humiliating especially when the very girl that caused most of the unneeded drama in your life is responsible for it.
Making matters worse is the fact that many thought that Cassie was an irresponsible person and therefore unworthy to be Wonder Girl. This has been an ongoing debate for the past couple years. Sure Cassie has a temper but she can actually control said temper for the most part. The only reason that said rage has become more pronounced is as a result of Ares’ evil manipulation of his sister; something Diana and Zeus himself warned Cassie about.
Cassie naturally took the bait since she had lost her powers during that time, not like anyone could blame her. Still the fact that many people bashed her for this, Diana included was horrible. Now after years of hypocrisy on the side of the heroes, no one should be surprised if Cassie suddenly and openly denounces them and exposes all their secrets or even goes all Superboy Prime on them or worse commit suicide.
Donna sighed. Sure Cassie has some shortcomings but Diana herself is a hypocrite, in fact everyone has been hypocritical when it comes to Cassie. A lot of the criticism being leveled upon the girl might as well be applied to other heroes as well like Conner or Tim for instance.
Ironically said hypocrisy has been thrown at Amon aka Osiris several times which is why said boy has distanced himself from the superhero community recently. Black Adam openly lambasted the League and everyone else for that and rightfully so.
I hope you find happiness and peace Cassie.
Just then Donna’s phone rings. She checks the phone and discovers that it is Kori calling her. She then answers the call. “Hi Kori.”
“Donna....you have to come down here quick!!”
A couple miles in New York, Cassie is standing on top of a rooftop, preparing to throw herself down and commit suicide. Now one would find it laughable since she is meant to be a demigoddess, until they realize one disturbing detailing: Cassie lost her powers yet again during the duel and has remained powerless ever since.
The rest of the Team bursts through the door. “CASSIE DON’T!!” Conner shouts. Cassie turns around with tears in her eyes. The others begin to feel guilty for making her feel that way.
“There is nothing left for me here. You have all made it clear that I do not belong here. So why waste my time when I can just elsewhere and find peace. Heck even Hell is more peaceful than here. I cannot stay with the gods because of they are going through their own drama and are killing each other anyway.”
She takes a couple steps back. “Cassie I understand why you are mad at us and you have every right to hate us. But I want you to know that there are people that still love you regardless.” Kori says in the most gentle way possible.
It was at that moment that Cassie literally explodes. “LIES!! PURE UTTER LIES!! IF YOU ALL REALLY CARED, YOU WOULD HAVE ALLOWED ME TO PROPERLY EXPLAINED MYSELF!! YOU WOULD NOT HAVE ENCOURAGED TIM OR ANYONE TO BE ABUSIVE TO ME!!! YOU WOULD HAVE STOPPED BABS WHEN YOU SPREAD HER FILTHY GOSSIP ABOUT ME AND ALL OF YOU JOINED IN TO SLUTSHAME ME FOR YOUR PLEASURE!! YOU ARE AS BAD AS THE MEDIA!! PURE UTTER HYPOCRITES WHO ONLY CARE ABOUT HOOTING THEIR HORNS!! NOW I CAN SEE WHY PEOPLE LIKE JASON TURNED THEIR BACKS ON HUMANITY AND CHOSE TO DO HARDCORE JUSTICE!! YOU MOTHERFUCKERS ARE NOT SO DIFFERENT FROM THE VERY FOOLS WE HAVE BEEN FIGHTING FROM YEARS!!”
Everyone keeps quiet. Cassie clearly had been waiting for this moment and she has now gotten an audience. “Oh and speaking of failures, how many times have we been supposedly, not I used supposedly in quotation marks here because that shows how stupid you all are, were ahead of the bad guys only for them to outsmart us and somehow win?”
Dick and Kaldur exchange looks. “You know, had it not been for my father, I would have rotted in jail. Oh and special shoutout to the Black Adam family, the only family that ever truly cared about me. Plus of course Donna and Tatiana. The rest of you can go fuck yourselves and leave me be!!” She turns her back to them and ignores them as she walks over to the edge.
“Cassie wait...”
She stops and turns around as Vanessa walks in. “Cassie, listen I know you are mad. If you want to lash out. Take it out on me.” she says calmly, hands raised. Before anyone could say anything, Cassie stomps towards her so-called rival and aims a punch at Vanessa who does nothing to stop her.
Fortunately for her, Cassie stops mid-punch and drops to her knees and begins to break down in tears. Vanessa bends down and hugs her predecessor. “Listen Cass. No matter what anyone else says, you will always be Wonder Girl. In fact you are way better than I am. I do not like the great divide that Diana has created. There are other ways this could have been done.” she says. Cassie simply sobs, feeling very bad for lashing out.
“I...I’m so sorry...”
Vanessa smiles softly. “You do not have to apologise. We are both victims in this. Besides, I told Diana that I quit.” Cassie stares at her in disbelief. ”You did not have to.”
“Yet I did.”
Cassie shakes her head. “No. You remain Wonder Girl.” Cassie then smiles. “Besides, you earned it anyways.” Vanessa giggles and hugs her back. Everyone heaves a sigh of relief.
Osiris who had just arrived makes a slow descent next to them. “Cass, I understand you hate everyone and whatnot but if you throw yourself down there, chances are you might end up worse than Todd the moment they choose to bring you back from the dead. Or if you choose down a dark path now, you might end up the way Adam did years ago.”
The girl simply nods. “ I might as well go clear my mind of things for a while.”
He comes closer to her. “You know, you could have simply asked and I would gladly take you home with me so that you can get some breathing space since quite frankly, you need some of that.’ She rolls her eyes. “Fine. Let’s go.’ She wraps her arms around his neck with him wrapping his arms aorund her securely and together they fly away.
“Wait....that was it?“ says Garfield, earning a smack across the head from Raven. “Oww!!” he grumbles. Tim meanwhile stares up at the sky with jealousy in his eyes which is funny considering his relationship with Stephanie.
So she has choosen him hm? This whole shit was a setup to make that announcement.

should i finish this?
This is a French Mistake fic I wrote about The Flash and Supergirl. What do you think? (The spacing is really weird for some reason)
“Breach incoming!” Team Flash cautiously approached the breach room, prepared for any hostile enemy that could enter. Instead, a familiar Kryptonian popped through.
“Kara! Hey!” Barry went to give her a hug but she held her hand up. It was only then he noticed how out of breath she was.
“No… time…” she pulled his arm. “Speedster… breached… come…”
After speeding off to get his suit, the two hopped dimensions.
“We have time. Catch your breath,” Barry instructed the blonde girl. She shook her head.
“We don’t have time. This woman opens breaches at such a fast speed that it catches people as they run away. People of National City have been disappearing, all after coming in contact with her, we don’t truly know the extent of her powers.”
He nodded as listened. “And what about the speedster?”
“She is the speedster.”
His mouth went slightly agape, now understanding the severity of this foe. “Well we just have to be faster.” Kara took one last deep breath and blasted into the sky, Barry following close after.
Unlike speedsters connected to the speed force, this woman didn’t have lightening. In fact, she didn’t have any indicators that she should be moving that fast, making her harder to track and harder to follow. Her transdimensional connection to the multiverse was impossible to track unlike breaches, and before Kara and Barry could even process what was in front of them, they were running full speed into one of her breaches.
“Alright cut! That’s it for today! Great job everyone.” Kara and Barry looked around in confusion and concern. A group of people stood around them with cameras, chairs, and lights, all clapping.
“Uh thank you?” Barry responded to the strangers. The people dispersed into their own conversations, cleaning their equipment and grabbing their things. “Kara?” Barry whispered.
“Yeah, Barry?” She responded, relieved that this was the Barry she knew.
“Where are we?”
The two wandered around the populated area, trying to find any leads.
“We must be in a parallel universe. Just, which one?” Kara whispered.
“Obviously it’s one where we exist. They didn’t seem to not recognize us. Maybe this us was filming a message to National City.” He responded. Before he could continue, a man approached the two.
“Grant, Melissa, there was a change to tomorrow’s script. Jesse cut the DEO scene and added a new apartment scene. The pandering to the Karry shippers will boost the ratings for sure.” The man smiled and handed the two packets of paper. “Get some good rest. Tomorrow the fight scene.” He pat Barry on the shoulder and went his own way.
“Kara, I don’t have my powers.”
She tried to use hers with no prevail. “I don’t have mine either.” She sighed. “This is Music Meister all over again.”
“Wait. He didn’t call us Kara and Barry. He called us Melissa and Grant. That must be our doppelgängers.”
She pointed her finger, perking up at the realization. “So if we can find out more about them, maybe we can find how to get home…” A woman approached the two, making Kara cut off her sentence.
“Make sure you get your costumes back to costumes before you head out.”
“And where should we do that?” He asked the woman. She laughed.
“Oh, right, your trailers. We had to move them during the shoot. They’re just past the food table, on the right.” She pointed.
“Thanks so much. Have a good night.” The two speed walked to the trailer marked “Grant Gustin” and “Melissa Benoist.”
“These must be it,” Kara stated.
Barry nodded. “Do you want to get changed and we can figure this out when we do whatever this us has to do.” He motioned to his suit.
“But I don’t want to leave my Supergirl outfit.”
He sighed. “Neither do I. But if that’s what they would do, we have to too.”
She nodded. “You’re right. Meet me back here when you’re done, okay? I’ll try to get into Melissa’s phone or laptop so we can do some research on who we are now.”
Nodding, Barry entered his trailer, gawking at the amenities for a moment before changing into normal clothes. He didn’t enjoy losing his powers once more, but recently he hadn’t been misusing them for menial daily tasks.
Kara had an easier time changing out of her Supergirl outfit and changing into something that was much more Kara Danvers than Melissa Benoist. She returned her dress to costumes, after getting lost on the way, and came back to her trailer, rummaging through Melissa’s things before finding her phone. She was surprised to see a photo of her and Mon-El as the screensaver.
Barry entered the trailer, turning her attention away from the phone. “Hey, I’m back.”
She opened the phone, pointing at the screensaver to him. “What’s with this?”
Barry took the phone and typed in Melissa Benoist. “Well it seems Mon-El here is actually someone named Chris Wood.”
“Huh. He doesn’t seem much of a Chris.”
Barry continued to type. “That’s not all. He is your fiancé.”
Kara’s eyes went wide. “Oh no. You can’t be serious.”
“That’s what Google says, at least.” Barry pointed to the articles.
“I can’t face Mon-El here! He’s married and from the future and not in my life anymore. I just moved on.” She buried her face in her hands.
“There’s more.”
She looked up. “What do you mean?”
“Well, we’re pretty famous.” He continued to surprise himself as he scrolled through Wikipedia. “Melissa Benoist has been on Broadway and portrays the character Supergirl on CW.”
“What about you?” She asked.
“Weird,” he muttered seeing the articles with his face but that had nothing to do with the real him. “Apparently he’s known for a musical show called Glee, being Baby John in West Side Story on Broadway, and for playing Barry Allen on The Flash.
“So we aren’t even real here. We are characters on a TV show?”
Barry sighed. “I guess we are.”
“Okay, think Barry. This isn’t a normal breacher because there would be two versions of us, right? Instead we replaced Melissa and Grant with us.”
“So does that mean they are in our universe?” Barry asked.
She shook her head. “When we were in National City people were disappearing.”
“So, maybe we are in a new universe entirely. Maybe we got misplaced in time and space and when we leave, they’ll come back.”
Kara snapped into a finger gun, indicating that he was on the same page as her. “But how do we get out?”
“This obviously isn’t like our mind musical, because we don’t follow any sort of plot. Maybe we have to find our way out. A portal or a breach.”
“But we don’t have our powers,” she interjected.
Dejected, he responded, “you’re right.”
“Maybe if we find Cisco then…”
“He doesn’t exist on this earth. His name is Carlos Valdez and he is very much just human.”

Little fic based on a dream I made.
Which is why it may be a little mess.
Hope someone will like it. Enjoy the read.
Nemesis
————————————
It has been two months since Clark and Lois had flown to Argo City. Since then, Kara had everything under control.
Well, everything except one thing, a big thing. This was Lex Luthor. Somebody had managed to convince Lena’s brother to help them cleaning Earth from aliens and especially from the Supers. Now that Superman was gone, it seemed easier to get rid off the Girl of Steel.
Supergirl was patrolling over National City when she heard a woman yelling for help. She was flying straight towards her when she saw a suited girl coming from the sky and saving the woman.
Supergirl didn’t understand what just happened. This woman came from nowhere and did exactly what Kara was going to do, wearing the exact same suit, and rocking the exact same blond haircut. She seemed familiar to Supergirl, just like she had always known her, and it was pretty much disturbing. She didn’t had the time to figure it out. The other blond attacked her, flying her straight to the sky. Supergirl tried to escape from her grip but the woman suddenly stop.
« I don’t mean to hurt you. », the girl said with a sadden look.
« Who are you ? » asked the confused Kryptonian.
« Don’t you know who I am ? » The words echoed in Supergirl’s mind. She knew this voice.
As she was now closer to her face, she could recognize her. It was Indigo. Well, rather her human appearance : blond hair, blue eyes, and a penetrating look that could destabilize everyone she looked at.
Supergirl couldn’t understand how she could have escaped from the death.
« Call me Nemesis. » the blond said with a grin, before vanishing in the sky.
Once at home, Kara couldn’t stop thinking about what happened, everything was... weird. But she was sure that Lex was behind all this.
The next day, she explained Alex everything and Nemesis became DEO’s first priority. But Kara was feeling strange, like there was something else behind the coming up of Nemesis, something more important than just another Bizarro. She came back home pensive, and fell asleep on her couch, all suited.
She woke up with a start. She was in her apartment, lying on the couch dressed as Kara Danvers, her glasses on. She felt the sudden need to go to work immediately. But the second she crossed the doorstep, she saw three children of Liberty waiting around the corner of the hallway. She stopped, afraid. She knew that they were looking for her. She knew they would deduce she’s Supergirl the second they would see her. She ran. They disappeared. She was now dressed as Supergirl, but she was powerless. In the blink of an eye she was outside the building in the middle of a crowd. She saw them again. They were running towards her. Ready to hurt, ready to kill. She ran back to the building. There was an opened window whereby she managed to enter the building to hide from the children of Liberty.
She didn’t had the time to snap out of it, Nemesis appeared, holding Kara’s inert body. She dropped it off on the floor. Supergirl didn’t understand anything about what was happening. Nemesis’ face was burning, just like she was dying.
Everything was dark around and the time seemed to be frozen.
All of a sudden, Nemesis looked at Supergirl and ran towards her with all her strength. They fought. None of them was winning nor losing. Nemesis had the exact same powers as Supergirl, with the exact same strength and the exact same way to apprehend things. It was like Supergirl was fighting herself, as much physically as psychologically.
The two kept fighting. They ended up in a backyard. Nemesis suddenly disappeared and Supergirl, who was on the ground, managed to get back on her feet. As she was looking around trying to know where she was, somebody punched her. She looked up, it was.. Cisco ?
« Cis.. Cisco ? Wha-what are you doing here ? » Supergirl asked, stunned.
The only answer she received was another punch.
« I’m here to kill you. » he said stone-faced.
He didn’t stop punching her. Supergirl wasn’t responding, she didn’t want to hurt him. There was an explanation to all of that. It wasn’t really him, she knew it deep down inside.
She tried to avoid the punches. It was the only way not to hurt him. She was playing on Cisco’s nerves. He was getting angrier, and as soon as she saw an opportunity to escape, she flew away. There was a glasshouse above which she managed to hide. Cisco was still looking after her all over the yard. She looked down and she saw Nemesis in the glasshouse, waiting in front of what it seemed to be a cauldron.
Cisco appeared, beside himself. He told Nemesis that Supergirl had escaped. She calmly sent him away, and as he walked out, another man appeared in the glasshouse. The man was topless, only wearing black jeans. Nemesis gave him orders and vanished. Supergirl knew she was coming after her. It was just about time until she found her. But Supergirl didn’t want to escape. She wanted to know the story behind all of this. Was it a dream ? Was she experiencing another sort of coma ? Was she under drugs ?
She couldn’t remember anything that could have caused that. The last thing she recalled was her, coming back home in her Supergirl suit and falling asleep on the couch. But nothing about the way she woke up, nothing about the way she felt since then was coherent. Everything was strange. She knew it couldn’t be reality, because she couldn’t feel her true self. Not until Nemesis was there. Just like.. just like Nemesis now owned Supergirl’s soul.
Lost in her thoughts, Supergirl didn’t hear Nemesis approaching behind her. She shivered under her touch. This one was soft, caring and, in no instance, aggressive. Supergirl didn’t immediately turn around, she was keeping her eyes closed, her body in communion with Nemesis’. She was under her sway. After a few seconds Supergirl finally faced her doppelgänger. Nemesis looked calm and serene. She offered her hand to Supergirl who followed her into the glasshouse, bewitched.
Suddenly, everything was black. Supergirl was unable to open her eyes. She panicked. She was running out of breath, her face covered with a bag. Then, the topless guy she saw earlier appeared to her, pulling the bag out. It was a liberation for the claustrophobic Kryptonian. She was breathing loud, trying to calm down. When she came back to her senses, she understood she was in the very glasshouse she noticed before.
Supergirl was lying on a wood table near the same cauldron she caught sight of previously. Even though her eyelids were heavy, she tried to look around her, turning her head from left to right. Her hands were tied up, and her legs were dangling from the table. The topless guy was facing her and she managed to get him closer to her by using her legs. She looked at him right in the eyes and fleered condescendingly.
« What is he doing here ? » Supergirl yelled, trying to call out to Nemesis, who was certainly behind her.
« Tell me ! Where are the girls huh ? I don’t want the guy, give me girls ! » she continued hysterically, pushing the man back.
Nemesis sent him away and took his place between Supergirl’s legs.
« The drug they gave you seems to work. You’re finally showing your true self. » Nemesis said satisfied.
Supergirl used the same trick as earlier to approach Nemesis. Their skin were now in contact. Nemesis shivered under this touch and Supergirl enjoyed having this effect on her.
The following minutes came to the Kryptonian by flashes. One minute, she had freed herself and was fighting Nemesis, and the next one, the calm was restored. Then, Alex suddenly appeared, pointing her gun to Nemesis. Supergirl was placed between her sister and the other blond woman, she looked back at Nemesis, compassionate. She walked towards her and offered her her hand.
« I know you don’t want to hurt me. I don’t want it neither. » Supergirl said hopeful.
She managed to convince Nemesis to trust her. Alex tried to convince her sister to bring her back to the DEO but Supergirl refused. They could do that the next day. For now, Nemesis needed rest. Supergirl brought her to her apartment where Nemesis could restore herself. She felt asleep on Kara’s couch and at her waking, she had returned to a normal life, human and powerless. She came to the DEO with Supergirl and explained Alex everything. Supergirl managed to keep Nemesis out of any charges.
« I would like to thank you for all you’ve done for me even though I tried to kill you. » she told Supergirl before they left the DEO.
« And I’m not talking to Supergirl, I’m talking to Kara. » she added, determined.
Kara had observed her when she was asleep. She couldn’t take her eyes off of her, every curve, every parcel of her skin had been explored by the Supergirl’s sight. She had blushed when she had caught herself checking on Nemesis like this, it wasn’t something she was used to. But it was definitely something she could get used to.
The two arrived at the restaurant where they had book a table for four, Supergirl, Nemesis, Alex and J’onn. The glazed building took place in the middle of a garden. Right before they entered the restaurant, Kara was feeling warm all over her body. She gripped Nemesis’ arm, pushed her against the glass and kissed her fiercely. They kissed with passion as Nemesis answered to Kara’s request. After a few seconds, they pulled apart, breathless.
« I was dying to kiss you. » Kara said relieved.
« I know. » Nemesis simply responded.
Indeed, she knew from the start that the only way for Kara to be with Lena was by exceeding her doubts and facing her true self, and this was exactly what she had just done.
Kara entered the restaurant, satisfied, without a second sight at her ex-nemesis. She now knew how to conquer Lena’s heart.
