#idk how many people actually go to protests and marches and vigils on this site#but i think tonights was the first time ive ever felt kind of dissapointed by one#not because of the vigil itself#i guess i was just hoping a vigil in front of the local israeli conculate for ALL martyrs would've drawn more than like 50 -75 people#yes it was below freezing yes it was windy#but were all people who live in a cold city#and can dress warm for it#and know how to tough it out#and even if we werent its such a tiny discomfort for such a short amount of time to act like its a reason to not go to something#idk i guess i thought more people were deeply enough affected by Refaat and Hind and Aaron and every other martyr we know by name#and the thousands and thousands and thousands we dont#to show up and stand in the cold for a little while#to feel like we can honour them in some way#to hear Refaat's words read allowed (which has hurt consistently but is so important to feel)#idk where im going with it i think i just need to get it all out#its been a very weird day

#thranduil#the hobbit#lotr#myart#i wanna start drawing him consistently for all of these doodles anyways#i hope his emotional state/proximity to elrond will be apparent by how ornate or stripped down his clothes and jewelry are :)#he wears dark warm colors and greens elrond wears cooler colors and occasional red and copper their tailoring is to personal taste#i like that rivendell elves have really elegant lines in their clothes it makes sense w the art nouveau architecture#i think thranduil dresses p singularly tho i think his tailoring and color choices are all of his own (dramatic)#ugh wish these geezers would hurry up and court each other so i can draw elrond wearing a flower crown in the greenwood

#this was a good warm up i think. kinda low quality cause its Small and Not Much Effort Went Into It#but i think the fuzziness adds to the charm. or something like that#ive always loved greasers as a concept and general Thing#anyway now im Thinking about what everyone's 'roles' would be#i think the little greaser group would be wally / sally / barnaby#except theyre the most unconventional greasers ever#sally is all bark and no bite. barnaby is no bark and no bite. wally is just there to look pretty#i think theyd fold frank into the group eventually due to Witnessing His Knack For Violence#i can picture them mostly hanging around a diner#where they all share the single milkshake they can collectively afford#scribble garnish#welcome home#in middle school i absolutely adored the outsiders#we even did a thing for the class where we were assigned 'greaser' or 'soc' and i was So Fucking Delighted to get greaser#assigned greaser by 8th grade english class#got to dress up and everything. i had a blast. so gender.#during that time i would even sit there in class thinking 'i was born in the wrong generation'. delusional? yes#one of my ocs is even a fuckin. universe-hopping assassin greaser#their vibe.... 50s punk...#loved the movie btw. made next to no sense. very charming

#its not my fave fave color but i love love love slate blue....#i enjoy many blues mostly leaning toward green than purple...i dont enjoy purple#i think this blue fits talon but i dont want him to be So Me so he likes the more purple blues mainly#(in my doodle pages slate blue is usually just grey but the bg color makes it look more blue)#i still love how it looks as a grey blue#a doodley#i think he'd like it darker of course but making it darker on this page just makes it more evident that its just grey LOL looks less blue#''is dressed'' because al and smunker have to sort of build his wardrobe for him#as well as actually physically dress him a lot of the time due to the health issues#thje exception to it all is he really does love wearing big t shirt and nothing else (at home)#in all forms (furry or not)#BECAUSE it makes him feel cold but in that tingly way where u can curl up in bed and wiggle around to get warm.#do u understand me. i love doing this like when its cool in my room at night + remove an article of clothing#so that it feels MORE cool and I get to really appreciate warming up under the covers#anyway all subject to change of course. lots of talon details still elude me i cant fully crack him at all

#beautiful things list in the tags#so i can remember a day that seemed full of them#going to the religious bookstore and finding lots of things (the beautiful advent wreath!)#quick trip to the library and picking up a couple of middle grade books on a whim#(short things that don't add much to the overwhelming tbr but add a bit of joy into the options list)#going to wendy's and getting a lime coke#listening to fascinating religious history things that opened up new ideas and made new connections with what i'd been reading#wedding dress shopping with my sister#in a cute little shop with nice staff#where i felt like my input was helpful#wandering a bit in a city we never go to#in a rainy chilly late night atmosphere that felt very hallmark christmas movie#(in a good cozy way not in the over-the-top christmas decorations way)#thrift shopping and finding a lightweight sweater that fills a need in my wardrobe#(since we've had a warm year that limits me to only a few of my sweaters)#coming home and finding that a book i ordered had arrived#lots of lovely poem recommendations and conversations#some sights on a rainy day that filled me with that fantasy sort of awe and longing#seeing a distant shore through a fog that looked like an ancient castle rising up out of the mist#a hill of plants topped with crimson leaves that looked like a fabric or wallpaper pattern come to life#it was just a day filled with a lot of beauty#and i made a conscious effort to notice it#one of those days you want to keep
