But in the late 18th century, Dutch hospitals urgently needed repairs, according to the company's books, the total cost from 1764 to 1773 was 66031 Dutch guilders， But this not only does not include accommodation issues, but also the cost of purchasing water to make up for the insufficient water supply in the hospital for washing lavatories. Later, the British took over from the Dutch. Although the city wall was demolished and the canal was buried, the hospital was still used because of its spaciousness and convenience.
