You grab another vial of blood and mark down in the system which patient of yours this belongs to. Afterward, you place it inside a medical plastic bag and set it off to the side for the lab to pick up later. Today has been non-stop tending to patients, drawing blood, and taking vitals. You’re only halfway through your shift and you feel like your head is going to explode.

“Did you see his post?” another nurse asks as she and her friend walk into the office. “God, he looks so hot. I can’t believe he’s single.”

“I bet he’s fucking random fans every show he does. I could be one of those fans if I got tickets. Can you believe even the nosebleeds are two hundred bucks?”

You don’t need to hear his name to know who they’re talking about. There is only one artist that is big enough in the news right now. He’s been on a steady incline to fame ever since he left Texas for California.

“Do you think he’s good in bed?”

You roll your eyes at that but don’t comment on it. You just want to do your job and go home. You can’t be sitting here thinking about your best friend’s brother and how much of an arrogant bastard he is who thinks the world revolves around him. It doesn’t help that he has a major crush on you, and he isn’t afraid to show it. Besides him telling you every time he calls you how much he likes you, he’ll always try to show you either with flowers, dinner, or other small presents that he has mailed to you.

There isn’t a time that goes by when he’s with you that he doesn’t try and ask you out on a date. If he was just your best friend’s brother, you would consider it. It’s the fact that he’s an up-and-coming rockstar who isn’t near his peak that has you on the edge. You know rockstars. You dated a few of them. All they care about is music, money, and sex. They’ll get it anywhere from any woman who is willing to spread her legs for them. You’re not saying Jensen is like that, but you don’t want to be a notch on his belt.

Still, that doesn’t stop you from using your vibrator and fantasizing about him.

A few days pass without incident when you’re inputting patients into the computer. The same two coworkers who were talking about Jensen before come strolling in with big smiles on their faces.

“What’s got you two looking like that?”

“Jensen is in town for his concert.”

“Did you two get tickets?”

“No, but I know of a way inside. I have someone working security.”

You’d rather not sit here and watch them fangirl over him so you decide to finish your paperwork later and check on the patients. Your best friend, Sabrina, pulls you to the side as soon as she sees you.

“I need you to take the patient in Room 15.”

“Why? That’s your section.”

“Please? I can’t do it.”

“Why?” you ask, your eyes narrowing.

“He’s my brother. They won’t let me work on him.”

Jensen is here. You think about what it might mean if he sees you entering the room and think it’s better than sending the fangirls in there with him.

“Fine. You owe me.” You start to walk away from her with the blood draw supplies and pause. “Don’t tell the other girls. They’ll cause a riot.”

You walk to Room 15 and knock twice before entering. Jensen is sitting on the small table with the paper lined for people’s safety even though half the time, it gets crumbled and tossed out of the way. He is scrolling through his phone but it’s not that that has you staring in awe. He is wearing a tight black shirt that really shows off his muscles and tattoos and dusty blue jeans that you know hug his ass so nicely, all with a backward hat on. His hair peeks out the back of his hat. It was shorter than the last time you saw him.

There’s a new image for your fantasies.

“Growing out your hair, huh?”

Jensen’s head snaps up at the sound of your voice, and he gives you a thousand-watt smile. He immediately puts his phone away so that he can give you all of his attention.

“I was hoping Sabrina would send you in here.”

“Oh, you’re lucky it’s me and not the two fangirls out there. I’m pretty sure one of them wants to have sex with you.”

“What about you? Do you want to have sex with me?”

You smile shyly and grab two latex gloves to start the blood-drawing process. “You wish.”

“Yeah, I do.”

You wrap a tourniquet around his upper arm before grabbing his arm and rubbing the area with an alcohol swab to sterilize the area. Don’t think about his big muscles. Focus, Y/N! You open a packet that contains a new needle and place it where you need to. Without counting down, you stick the needle into his vein and start to grab blood samples.

“So, come here often?” he flirts.

“I work here,” you giggle.

“I know. I just wanted to hear your giggle. So, when am I gonna take you out?”

“Hmm, how about never?” you tease.

“Don’t do that to me, sweetheart. Throw me a bone or something.”

“I’m not even going to comment,” you laugh.

You take out the first vial and shove a new one into the case for more blood.

“I’m serious. When are you gonna let me take you out to a nice dinner? I’ll pay.”

“Oh, you will? How generous of you,” you say sarcastically yet playfully.

“Does that mean yes?”

“No.”

“I’m not gonna stop asking you.”

“You’ll turn blue in the face if you continue that.”

“It’s okay,” he shrugs. “I look good in blue.” You roll your eyes and try to hide your smile knowing he sees it. You finish getting four blood samples before patching him up with a Hello Kitty bandaid. You were just treating two twin little girls and this is all you have. “Nice band-aid.”

“It’s all I have. I can get a different one if you want.”

“No, no, I happen to like Hello Kitty.” You trash your gloves and the needle packet before standing. “Come to my concert.”

“I have to work.”

“No, you don’t. It’s on Saturday and you don’t work the weekends.” You silently curse knowing he’s right. “How about this? I will have a VIP and all-access badge with your name on it. Come if you want. It starts at seven. Are we done here?”

“Yeah, but--”

“Give my love to Sabrina.”

He hops of the table and kisses your cheek as he leaves. The two fangirls see him and fawn over his good looks but when he looks back, it’s at you. He only has eyes for you. He winks and turns to the fangirls who are practically tripping over the other to get to him. He signs what they want to be signed and takes pictures with them before leaving.

Today is only Wednesday but you can’t stop thinking about Jensen and his offer the rest of the week. Saturday comes faster than you’d like, and you find yourself driving with Sabrina to the concert hours before it even starts. There are already people lining up to get to the front of the pit but you bypass the entire parking lot to head to the back where the service entrance is.

“I can’t believe I’m going to this,” you say.

“So, when are you and my brother going to fuck?”

“Sabrina!”

“What? If anyone should be with him, it’s you. That boy is in love with you.”

“No, he’s not. He thinks he is because I don’t want him.”

“Does telling yourself that help you sleep at night?”

“Sabrina… He’s a rockstar. He’s a famous rockstar. He doesn’t want some rundown nurse. He could have anyone.”

“Yeah, but he wants you.”

You’re torn because you do want Jensen. He’s every girl’s dream. Even if he wasn’t a rockstar or famous, you’ve known him since you two were kids. You grew up together. You know who the real Jensen is, the one he doesn’t show anyone else. Still, there is that nagging feeling that he'll dump you once he gets bored with you. 

All of your exes did.

You show security both your IDs and he hands you and Sabrina your access badges before directing you where to park. After you two get out, you follow security to the back where the band is hanging out. You’ve gotten to know Jensen’s band a little over the years. They’re nice guys.

“Bean!” Jensen turns and grins when he sees his sister. His drummer has a major crush on your friend and has called her Bean ever since she told him she hated it. They’re in the “will they, won’t they?” stage but everyone knows they’re gonna be endgame. “Where’ve you been?”

“I told you not to call me that,” she rolls her eyes and hugs her brother. 

“And I told you I don’t care. I like how you blush when I do,” he smirks.

Jensen’s gaze goes over to you and he visibly relaxes at the sight of you. He walks over to you and takes off his hat so that his hair falls over his face.

“Hi, Jensen.” He smiles but doesn’t answer you. “What, cat got your tongue? I know I’m breathtaking but come on.”

“He doesn’t speak before a show to preserve his voice. He has breathing exercises to do,” Josh, the drummer, says.

“What a blessing,” you joke.

Jensen pulls you in for a hug, and you allow this minute to really feel him. His arms have always felt so safe around you, and you find yourself relaxing into his body. He pulls away and takes out his phone to text you since he takes his voice exercises seriously. Your phone pings and you look at the message he sent.

I love that you’re here.

You blush under his gaze and try but fail to hide your smile.

“You know I would have come.”

You and Sabrina leave for the VIP tent on the floor while the band gets ready. The opener comes out and does her performance which gives you time to enjoy the music and get some food before Jensen comes on stage. Since you and Sabrina are on Jensen and Josh’s social media, you’re both easily recognizable. Fans come up to the tent to chat and take pictures with you two. You never had a desire for fame but it’s nice to know you’ve made someone’s day just by saying hi to them.

The entire stadium goes dark and the intro to the concert begins. Immediately, the entire crowd cheers for Jensen. He walks on stage in a different outfit than when you saw him earlier, and you have to admit he looks really good. He’s wearing a classic muscle shirt that definitely shows off how much he’s been working out and his tattoos. Gone is his hat so that his hair can flop around freely.

His eyes immediately find the VIP tent, and he smiles when he sees you. You’ve seen his concerts over TikTok Lives and other social media platforms but nothing beats the real thing. He sings each song with passion like he means every word he’s singing. There is a long catwalk where he walks, and all the girls fawn over him whenever he gives them two seconds of his attention.

By the time he’s at the halfway point of his concert, your feet are hurting from how much you’re dancing and your ears are ringing from how loud it is, but you love it. Jensen is in the middle of a song when he suddenly stops and takes out one of his earpieces.

“Wait, wait, wait,” he pants. The band stops playing and everyone quiets down in confusion, including you. He’s never done this at any of his other concerts. “I’ll get back to the music in a second. I just want to say this is a very special concert because there is someone very special here tonight.”

“Oh, my God,” Sabrina gasps.

“Her name is Y/N and she’s right over there in the VIP tent.” The camera pans over to your shocked face so that everyone in the stadium can see. Sabrina can’t stop smiling. “You see, we’ve been friends since we were kids and she doesn’t know this but I am absolutely crazy for her.”

Cheers erupt throughout the stadium, and you shake your head at Jensen with a smile.

“Now, I’ve asked her this many times but she’s always said no to me. I don’t think she’ll be able to say no in a room full of eighty thousand people. Someone get her a microphone. I want to hear her answer.” Jensen waits for someone to bring you a microphone. “Y/N, will you let me take you to a really nice dinner date?”

You wait for the crowd to quiet down a bit before giving your answer.

“No,” you smile sweetly. “You just won’t take no for an answer.”

“You’re right. I won’t.” He drags one of the barstools to the middle of the stage and sits on it. “That’s why we’re not continuing until you say yes.”

“You’re not serious.”

“Oh, I am, sweetheart. I won’t sing another song until you say yes. What do you say, Los Angeles? Should she say yes to me?” Almost every fan in the stadium including Sabrina cheers for you two. “See? Even they think you should.”

“Well if they think we should…”

“Is that a yes?”

“No,” you grin.

“Alright.” Jensen sits and drums his fingers on his legs patiently. “I wonder what I’m going to do next weekend. I think I should take up fishing. My dad always brought me but I never appreciated it before.”

“You’re seriously going to sit there and not continue your concert?” you ask.

“Put everyone out of their misery and just say yes to the date. Come on, everyone. Y/N! Y/N!”

Everyone starts chanting your name, and Sabrina tugs on your arm to grab your attention.

“Has any of your exes done this for you? What are you scared of?”

She’s right. None of your rockstar boyfriends have ever stopped a concert for you. None of them even mentioned you were there. Jensen doesn’t have to say it but he is in love with you and you’re in love with him.

“Fine. Fine. Yes, I’ll go on a date with you.”

“Yes!” Jensen cheers. You hand the microphone back to the stadium worker, and Jensen puts the earpiece back in. “This next song is for you, sweetheart.”

And he plays the song he wrote for you in high school.

Twice Headcanons: How They Act When They’re Jealous!

Nayeon:

on the outside, she’s completely calm. she gives off such calculated control, you’d never even know she was jealous

however on the inside, she’s having a complete downward spiral

her jealousy just validates the insecurities she already has; that she’s not pretty enough, not smart enough, not cool enough… not good enough for you.

she’ll start overanalyzing everything about her personality until she’s drowning in her own self criticism

all of this introspection makes her grow distant, which is your ONLY sign that something is wrong

the only thing that will snap her out of this is if you sit her down to her and explain in vivid detail how much you love everything about her, and how no one could ever replace her 💞

she would pretty much only get upset if she felt that you were blatantly disrespecting your relationship by shamelessly flirting with others

she doesn’t like to be controlling, but there are times when she’ll tell you not to associate with certain people anymore because of how they don’t honor your relationship. it’s not an ultimatum, more of a test to see how much you really care about her

but that’s only in the worst case scenario. most of the time she’s very open about her feelings. she’s not afraid to be vulnerable with you :)

she hates feeling replaced or forgotten, so if you start making her feel that way, she’ll immediately try and flip it back on you before it sinks in.

Chaeyoung: 

she’s highly possessive in her relationships. you belong to her, and she belongs to you. that’s the agreement you both made when you made things exclusive

and she’s not likely to stay with someone who doesn’t honor that commitment, so if you think she’ll tolerate you flirting around and playing the field, she won’t 😬

however if you’re not actively trying to make her jealous, she’s way more calm in how she handles things

she won’t lash out on you, but rather explain to you that it bothers her how this person looks at you/ talks to you. that way, if you continue to let it happen, she can’t say she didn’t set clear boundaries with you 😗

Tzuyu:

probably the least jealous member tbh

has a mindset of “if they want to, they will.”

i.e, if you want to cheat on her, you will. then she’ll leave you and move on with her life 💁🏼‍♀️

but obviously you don’t want to, because HELLO you’re dating chou tzuyu???

for real though, she’s super confident in herself, so she doesn’t get threatened easily

if you ever did manage to make her jealous, she’d probably just tell you straight out

Doing another RWBY hatedom rant because people seemed to like the last one and I have more to say:

I absolutely despise it when people call Yang selfish and a terrible sister in Volume 9 when it came to Ruby’s struggles with her mental health. I have two main issues.

1. People seem to think that because Yang is Ruby’s big sister then she needs to always be at her beck and call. She can’t disagree with Ruby. She can’t let Ruby do things on her own. She can’t focus on herself or her happiness. She must always be focusing on Ruby. That’s not how relationships, especially sibling ones, work. People seem to think that Yang must sacrifice everything for Ruby and if she is anything less than that then she is a terrible sister. Do people forget how much Yang had given up for Ruby?! She raised her! She sacrificed her life for her! As soon as she was ready to went to go find Ruby in Volume 5 instead of her mom, which she had wanted to do for most of her life! I fully believe that if Raven didn’t have her portal semblance, which made finding/getting to Ruby MUCH easier, Yang would not have bothered. Yang loves her sister so much! But just because she’s a big sister does not mean that she isn’t allowed to struggle or focus on herself.

2. Here’s the big reason. As someone who has had to deal with a VERY similar experience in my life it absolutely infuriates me when people call Yang a terrible person and sister. I won’t go into too much detail because it’s not my place and I’d rather keep the information private but a couple years ago my sister hit a very low point mentally and it got very scary. (She’s doing much better now don’t worry). Here’s something that most people don’t realize when someone very close to you is going through something like Ruby did: You don’t tend to realize how bad it is. I knew that my sister had her struggles, but I genuinely thought she was doing alright. Afterwards I felt like such a terrible person because I wished that I noticed more and wished she had told me what was going on. This is exactly how Yang felt! She knew her sister was struggling, but didn’t realize just how bad Ruby’s mental state had gotten. She would try to comfort Ruby, not realizing that it was making it worse. She wished that Ruby had told her so that she could help her. It’s a really shitty situation to be in. This is on top of the fact that all of team RWBY were in a very stressful situation after having witnessed the fall of Atlas. I don’t think any of them were in great headspace’s, Ruby was just in a much worse place.

Honestly the entirety of Volume 9, in my opinion, was very realistic in its portrayal of mental health issues both as the person struggling with it and as the people around them. These situations are messy, complicated, and are never straightforward. Trying to treat it as anything else really shows that people don’t know what they’re talk about.

Yang is a good sister. She’s not perfect, but guess what? No one is! Remember we as an audience know so much more than the characters do. Just because characters don’t handle a situation perfectly doesn’t mean they’re garbage.

I am having a goddamn nightmare of a time writing the university au (mostly because I have a shit ton of work to do…for my university…lol) so have some headcanons about the most toxic couple you’ve ever met. mdni under the cut

They’re like the definition of a situationship. They’re dating in every aspect except by name

At first she does try to sleep with other guys like she did before König but that doesn’t last long, because nobody else is as good as him. She will never admit this outside of the bedroom

Meanwhile he literally calls her his girlfriend behind her back

She’s emotionally unavailable toxic, he’s obsessive and possessive toxic

König enjoys the pursuit and just thinks it’s normal for women to be difficult like this. I would say “poor König” but he has a bad habit of picking her up and carrying her places against her will so he’s not that poor

She likes to tell herself she has no attachment to him, but she loves the ego boost he gives her by acting like a lovestruck puppy and following her everywhere. She’s also secretly into him being controlling

She does have her moments of genuinely caring about him, though. She brought him lunch once and he looked at her like she hung the moon the whole day. Her excuse was that she just happened to get/make an extra portion, but she did, in fact, get him a portion on purpose

She basically lives with him after a certain point. Her roommates barely see her anymore since she only comes and goes from her old place to get things. He constantly threatens to change the locks on her, but they both know it’s an empty threat. He much prefers to punish her in sexy ways

She'll just be minding her own business talking to a classmate or perhaps flirting with someone when König will come up behind her and put his arms around her. If she was just talking to someone she'll pat his face before attempting to shoo him off. If she was flirting with someone, she wrenches him off her and storms off in a huff (whoever she was talking to has definitely fled from König's evil eye by that point)

They don't really fight, they just have spats because König is endlessly amused by her anger and she is unable to stay mad at him for long. The one time they had a real fight was nasty, and they didn't talk for days afterwards

She's usually quite a chill, go with the flow person (because if she allowed herself too much stress or anxiety at once it would destroy her), but König brings out the spitfire in her

In equal measure, König is a bit of the shy and quiet giant type, but she brings out the brat tamer in him. They alternate balancing each other out

It's kind of easy to look at them and go "why are they still doing this to themselves" but when they get along (i.e. he's behaving himself and she's not pretending not to know him) they're as functional as any other couple

This definitely goes without saying: the nastiest most bed-breaking sex. They fuck like they’re trying to murder each other

I know it's a pet peeve of many people when they say the reader is ooooo so small and delicate next to the cod men, and I tend to agree. However, unless you are also nearly seven feet tall and built like an olympic swimmer, I'm just gonna say you're smaller than König

That being said, he LOVES using his size against her. Picking her up, bending her over things, bending her in half (mating press, his beloved)

If he wants her to stay, she'll stay. He'll have one hand on her throat pinning her down, the other keeping her open to slam into her

This brat will look him dead in the eye and ask "is that all you've got?", which obviously makes him lose his mind in the best way

She definitely has more experience than he does, which actually works out in his favor: him getting better at fucking really just means he's getting better at fucking her

So I’m rewatching MHA season 2 and like all things you tend to notice little things that make you kinda think. And I’m not sure if someone said this already but I’m going to still put my thoughts out there lol.

Let’s start by saying this. From what I’ve seen of the stadium there is only two main pathways to the battle part of the stadium and I’m going to call them point A and point B from now on. (Point C is where spectators are at)

After their fight uraraka is taken to get fixed by recovery girl afterwards she goes to the point A waiting room. Deku then heads to the point A waiting room because his fight is up next.

We then see bakugou on the point A side of the stadium.

but why?

The only reason I can come up with is that he was going to speak with Uraraka. My second idea is they just needed him to be there so that deku and bakugou could be there at the same time (My last idea will be at the end of the post)

But the only reason why I don’t think that’s the case on why he was over there is that they make a very deliberate choice to show his reaction to seeing deku. He has a more “surprised” reaction, Before getting upset. Like… He wasn’t expecting him to be there.

This next part I find interesting because it’s really telling about bakugo as a character in general lol

NOTE: I can’t translate Japanese so I’ll only be using the English version of this and maybe next time I’ll use official translations of the manga.

Bakugou then stops deku before he leaves to the waiting room. He then blames deku thinking that the meteor shower was deku’s idea. He then states…

“You would come up with something that annoying. “If we end up-”

And then he’s cut off by deku but the part that stood out to me is him saying “if we end up-“

I want to know exactly what “we” he is talking about “we” as in himself and deku? Or we as in himself and uraraka?

WHAT WAS HE GOING TO SAY????

my crack theory idea of what he was going to say could be:

A: bakugou saying that he (as in deku) could have really hurt her by having her do what she did

Or

B: bakugou saying that we could have fought longer if you didn’t give her the idea

Because he honestly did want to keep fighting. He did have a hard time blasting the meteor shower.

I don’t really think he’d actually be worried about hurting her though, but I can still see him getting upset at a deku plan that could potentially hurt others. That’s why he saw her plan as stupid it relied heavily on her getting blasted over and over again.

I honestly think I have an idea of what exactly he wanted to say to her or what he could have said:

It honestly wouldn’t be too far from what he said to deku. He’d still get upset with her asking her why exactly she did what she did. And she would have told him that it wasn’t a deku plan it was her plan.

There’s a reason why Horokoshi didn’t have bakugou and uraraka have this conversation.

Bakugou needed to hear it from deku. It doesn’t make since for him to be all that angry with uraraka. Annoyed yes but not angry.

The conversation between deku and bakugou ends there it’s focused on bakugous expression. He’s annoyed and slightly twitches not having anything else to say.

As I said before I have one last “idea” of why he was over there he could have been trying to go over to where 1A is sitting. I tried looking up a layout for the stadium but there isn’t really a map detailing the floor plans because honestly why would you need that?

Unless your a crazy person writing a in depth explanation of why I think a character was on his way to a classmates waiting room

Ok ok I swear one last thing! I think a few years back someone (not sure who this was a few years ago lol) had said he was trying to return her damaged jacket. Which I really don’t think that’s it. Because 1. Why would he care to do that? 2. Even while walking up the steps he wasn’t holding anything and 3. They probably gave the jacket back to her when giving her a new jacket. It’s a neat HC though!

ANYWAYS IN CONCLUSION TO ALL OF MY RAMBLINGS!

Horokoshi is really good at adding a layer of subtext over certain things. So much so that it makes people like me read into certain things. And ofc we will never know if that’s what he was doing but I honestly really think he really was on his way over there. There should have been either an exit to class 1A’s seats on his side of the stadium or I’m pretty sure that the waiting rooms are not actually connected to the hallways leading to the stadium seats.

If I missed something I’ll probably make an update post or something.

UPDATE: it’s only been like an hour but the ep bakugo vs todoroki at least confirms one thing it wasn’t an accident that he was headed over to where uraraka was as confirmed that he did in fact go into the wrong room later in this episode

‘My name is Keigan Nicholas Keogh, the Clerk. Welcome to Oletus Manor, it is a pleasure to meet you. I hope to get along with you.’

She doesn’t find it too impressive that you can beat her in a fight, as she is not the most athletic person, but seeing you face to face with someone like Percy, she has newfound respect for you.

‘Perhaps you shouldn’t fight so many people… here, let me patch you up. That looks bad. Maybe you’ll loose your eye next, hmm?’

She takes no shit and will defend you, even though she knows you could take them down in a fight. She’s an intimidating woman, and she knows it, and will make sure you don’t need to get into danger of being injured.

Eli, while not a pacifist, does not understand why you are so intent on fighting others. He finds your demeanour rude, although there is a charm to it. He was faultlessly kind, so he found out this behaviour of yours when you get mad at Aesop.

‘May you consider… not doing that? Aesop is quite shy - he means no harm. Please be more patient with him.’

To find Eli mad is quite the phenomenon, which is not going to happen unless you are seriously injured. He will scold you and wrap you up, then call Emily to have your wounds checked out, not leaving your side for a second. He’ll scold you, but is only concerned for your health.

‘Dear, it’s dangerous to be picking fights with others, especially when you’re already in an injured state, or after a match. Not to mention that you’ve been fighting the hunters, too. What was so funny about Mulciber attacking Mary Macdonald with Dark Magic that Snape described it as "just a laugh"?

"Let’s make something as clear as possible. We have no idea if Snape and Lily were even present when whatever happened to Mary Macdonald happened. That is how little information we have available. The only two people in the series that discuss it. And we don’t even know if they were there at the time. Let that sink in for a moment.

Snape says it was just a laugh. Lily says it was Dark Magic. And states thatJames and the Marauders do not use Dark Magic when Snape tries to compare what they do with what was done to Mary. She also considers Mulcibers sense of humour sick. There are a few ways to interpret this.

Snape was there and is lying/does consider it just a laugh when someone that isn’t him is being bullied. Lily was also there and finds what was done to Mary worse than what James does in SWM.

2. Snape wasn’t there and has heard secondhand that it was just a laugh or bit of fun that got out of hand. He appears to believe said account. Lily was there and knows it was worse than SWM.

3. Snape was there and considers it just a laugh. Lily wasn’t there and from what other people have told her about it considers it to be Dark Magic and worse than SWM.

4. Neither Snape not Lily we’re there. And both of their assessments come from secondhand information from people who either sided with Mary or Mulciber. People who could quite easily have lied to one or both of them.

One is the most unlikely possibility. Since Lily doesn’t argue that Snape let his friend Mulciber do xyz to Mary Three is likewise unlikely.

As Snape being there would have likely been mentioned to Lily if she heard the news secondhand and she’d make the same argument as above.

Snape being friends with someone doing evil stuff behind his back makes sense given the arguments she makes in canon. Not Snape already being aware of what his friend is doing and letting it happen.

That leaves two and four. And personally I tend towards four.

Given Lily does not say something like “I was there Severus it definitely wasn’t “just a laugh”” But as you’ll notice I’m talking probability not certainty when I say I find it most likely neither of them were present for what happened.

We have a fairly wide disparity of reactions but if we assume that what Mulciber did was Dark Magic and both Snape and Lily’s friends told the truth here’s what I think happened; Mulciber cast the Imperius Curse on Mary under his breath. And forced her to do relatively harmless but embarrassing and humiliating things for his and some mates amusement.

If we assume they’re prejudiced and cruel let’s say kissing the hem of their robes, calling herself a filthy Mudblood and things to that effect. If confronted by Mary’s friends or a teacher he lies and insists it was just a powerful Confundus. Or outright denies it was him.

As no one can prove it was Dark Magic/ that Mulciber did it he gets away with it. Facing light punishment at worst. Snape’s friends tell him of the stuff they forced Mary to do in a way that he finds amusing in the telling. He is convinced they were just having a laugh and it wasn’t as bad as what James has done to him. Lily’s friends tell her they’re sure Mulciber used the Imperius Curse. And she gets told how Mulciber wasn’t even punished properly for it. How upset Mary was etc. She believes it’s considerably worse than what she’s seen James do. Because she saw what it did to the person afterwards.

Now for a mature adult it’s pretty obvious this kind of mental violation is deadly serious even if no physical lasting harm was done. But a teenager hungry for acceptance could relatively easily not linger on that form of harm. And think “they weren’t actually hurt so where’s the harm?”.

If my scenario is accurate and Snape was told outright that it was Imperius not Confundus they used. He should not have found it funny. He ought to have considered it a significant violation of another person. But we can say exactly the same of everyone in the crowd during SWM. Remus and Lily are the only people outside that have any issue with what Snape was being subjected to. SWM was slightly less severe (provides my scenario is accurate and everything that Mulciber did was cruel but petty) but the people there actively witnessed someone being hurt and tormented. No secondhand accounts. No distance from someone else being upset and hurt. Yet they laughed and found it amusing.

Should we consider the people in the crowd psychopaths or as empathic as Death Eaters? Snape is a teenager. The people in the crowd are teenagers. Teenagers can be very s**tty under the right circumstances. (...) Snape is wrong to find it amusing yes. Just as the crowd is to find his humiliation amusing. But it doesn’t make him abnormal, sub-human, evil etc. He did choose a pretty dark path and took time to turn back from it as much as he did. But people like Remus who know it’s not cool to laugh at someone else’s suffering. But who don’t do anything to help/stop other people laughing are a bit depressingly rare at secondary school. Ryoma Birthday Headcanons

I definitely did not almost forget to prepare any of these in advance because I forgot that April 31st wasn’t a thing, haha… noooo, who would do that? I’m sorry Ryoma. You’re still my 2nd favourite Fates character, I’m just busy. Anyway, I hope you all enjoy this year’s round!

‣ Honestly, after the events of Revelation, he’s a little embarrassed that his first act as king (without being directly coronated, of course) was to declare war. For one thing, Hoshido is a country of peace. Very few kings during their reigns opened them by starting a war. For another, the problems with Nohr that drove them to battle were half the fault of a [REDACTED] working behind the scenes to worsen relations, and the other half were his fault for being ignorant. Thankfully for the most part people talk about his efforts to bring food to Nohr and end battles more than they do his tendency to start them, but it does make Ryoma more weary of how he handles conflicts afterwards.

‣ A lot of people believe that Ryoma is just naturally good at everything and never fails or has embarrassing moments. No. The man is actually just really, really good at a poker face, and it tends to convince people. No, that clang you heard was not him knocking his dessert spoon off the table, Prince Xander. You must be imagining things. The fact that his dessert spoon is now gone must surely be a coincidence, and likely evidence of another visit from a cute, pig-tailed prankster named Elise. Ryoma genuinely does fail fairly normal, but he has just learned to roll with the punches and keep going, and he has found that most of the time people will just believe him. Of course, this can only make it more embarrassing when there’s no way he can convince anyone that he didn’t misjudge the doorway’s height and bash his head, because there’s a bruise forming already. He just turns a little pink then.

‣ For someone who wears red a lot and is heavily associated with the colour, his favourite is actually blue. He doesn’t mention it much because he still does like red, but he finds the colour very calming. If given the opportunity to dress himself in casual clothing, it’s usually the colour he will go for the most, and he usually does for a deep, midnight blue tone.

‣ Contrary to popular belief, he and Mikoto did not have a magical mother-son connection. They genuinely liked, loved, and respected each other, but after losing both of his own parents, Ryoma tended to try and keep his parental figures at arms' length after that. Mikoto, loving mother that she was, always tried to connect with him anyway, but they weren’t as close as many people believe. A lot of that comes from the fact that he showed immense support for her at the beginning of her reign, calling her “Mother” and taking her opinions and advice very seriously. He genuinely did grow to think of her as his mother and would sing her praises all day long, but in the end their bond wasn’t similar to that of the ones she had with Sakura or Takumi. They relied on each other a lot politically and socially, but emotional connections could be sporadic. It’s why Yukimura’s choice of words for their connection is “cordial”.

‣ I imagine one of Ryoma’s first political moves is to change the succession order to being just by age, rather than age and gender. He does this as a way to honour Queen Mikoto’s memory, as she was living proof of the power of an influential female leader. It’s considered quite the controversial move, but we all know our boy can be manipulative when he wants to be — so when people try to question him, he will always asks them if they’re insinuating that Mikoto was anything less than perfect. Do they think they could have done better than her, if they were to walk in her shoes? They tend to shut up quickly after that.

‣ I’ve mentioned that I think Ryoma probably doesn’t believe too much in the “women are inherently inferior to men and need to be soft and delicate” idea on the surface, considering he was raised by and is deeply bonded to four (or five, considering Corrin’s gender) strong women, but I think he definitely still has a problem with understanding that protective paternalism isn’t helpful. He’s very absorbed in his expected gender role as a man, to the point that he doesn’t really even consider how patronizing he comes across. He genuinely thinks he’s helping and doing something good, because his one main job in life has been protector. He’s not thinking about how unfair it is to assume that the women in his life need his back-up or can’t handle things, he just thinks he’s being chivalrous.

‣ Not a morning person, mostly because he's a really bad sleeper. Total grumpy grump. He’ll get up when Saizo or Kagero wakes him, but he’s not happy about it. In fact, for the most part they’re very uninvolved in his morning routines because he wants them to stay out of the way. Just give him the clothes and he’ll fuss with his hair and they’ll all be presentable in a bit. Until he’s had his coffee for the day, don’t talk to him. In fact, unless you’re bringing his coffee for the day, don’t talk to him.

‣ Speaking of Ryoma and his terrible sleep schedule, I like to think he is also a 3 a.m. snacker. And not just like, a small snacker — heavy snacks. The reason he knows how to cook is at least partially because he needs to cook his own 3 a.m. meals. His sleep schedule is so bad and his eating schedule isn’t much better. He gets wrapped up in whatever he’s doing and then suddenly eight hours have passed, and all he’s had is a cup of tea. So he goes out to search for and prep midnight eats. Admittedly, he’s a little embarrassed that he does this — especially because, per Revelation, Xander won’t. stop. catching. him. (“Listen — if you would like a helping of beef curry, just ask instead of skulking around in the dark in such a manner!”)

‣ Kinda prefers not being called by his royal title when he can help it. In the Japanese version of Birthright, he actually tells Scarlet to call him by his first name when his identity is revealed (approximations because I am working from memory here, but… ENG: "You may simply call me Lord Ryoma", JPN: "Ryoma is fine"). For close friends, Ryoma will often just ask people to call him by his first name. The title is fine and everything, he cherishes it because it is representative so much and it is technically a gift from his parents, but there’s a certain ease that comes to talking to people without it. It’s like the equivalent of actually being able to let it go for a little bit when his friends don’t feel the need to call him “lord” and “milord”. Honestly, he’ll even allow cutesy nicknames, too… but they do make him a little embarrassed. He’ll never get used to Camilla calling him by her variation of pet names. Just Ryoma is fine, why does she insist on things like ‘honey bun’? (The answer: she likes that it makes him flustered.)

‣ Of all of the Hoshidan royal siblings, it is the most difficult to make him cry, but let it be known that it is not as difficult to make him cry as you think it might be. Still pretty hard, but certain things can and do get the water works flowing. He just also tries rather viciously to deny the tears, so by the end of it when he finally does start to cry, his face is usually quite pink and he’s really trying to hide behind his hair. He finds crying really embarrassing and tries to avoid doing it in public at all costs, but is more likely to allow it if it’s for happy occasions. Like if one of his siblings was getting married? Then it’s okay to be a little glassy-eyed. They’re worth it.

6. What’s their greatest fear? 

Abandonment! 

The thing is, Rin has already been abandoned. By her mom. When she was younger. 

And as much as Rin moves past and, by now, has largely come to terms with it. It is still a painful memory. More than a memory, Rin would call it a core event in her life. She knows, damn well, that she wouldn’t be who she is (and I really mean who she is. <- Rin is not her real name. Her name prior to the abandoning event was Renee! She literally wouldn’t even have the same name.) 

And she doesn’t want that to happen again. She doesn’t want to wake and realize that the person closest to her has left her again. She doesn’t want to know how she’ll react this time. She doesn’t want to live through the same rage-filled years where the only thing that kept her making it into the next hour was pure-fucking-spite only to collapse in a well of aimless depression afterwards when she couldn’t summon the energy to be mad. 

Because she knows the second time will be worse. Because she could’ve been more careful. Should’ve seen it coming. Should’ve been smarter about her company. 

7. How easy is it to make them cry?

It can be very easy, if you know what buttons to press. Rin is an absolute sucker for sappy children shows. Think My Little Pony + Little Witch Academia –really any show that focuses on friendship and overcoming trials with good bonds by your side. Similarly, being genuinely + consistently nice to her without expecting anything in return also gets to her. Rin is kindness-starved and she wants that kind of casual kindness but is so aware of how often it’s fake that she doesn’t want to risk it. So seeing/witnessing/experiencing that –especially when it’s not expected gets her all teary-eyed and scrambling to pretend she got dust in her eye or smth silly like that.

8. Are they trusting or do they refuse to trust? 

As much as Rin wants a solid, good relationship with someone. She absolutely does not want to be the first one vulnerable. And even when she isn’t there’s the ever-present paranoia that it’s a front. So, conversely, the closer she gets to a solid, trusting relationship the more she’s worried that it won’t last and the faster she is to cut strings and go home. 

It’s a wild swing between (someone she doesn’t know) is perfect and it’d be cool to get to know them -> (someone she is very close to) is actually trying to take advantage of me if i let them so i might as well ditch them while i can and save both of us the trouble. 

which, you know, kinda gets in the way of building a solid relationship.

for some reason, there’s a recurring trend in my life where people just don’t believe me no matter what i try to say and no matter how genuine and honest i am. i think it kind of makes me go a little crazy, in a really bad way. the feeling of screaming and begging for people to believe you over something you know is completely true, when you’ve never lied to them before, but they still refuse to trust you.

i think my mom is the first person to have done this with me in my life. she still does it. no matter how much i insist on something, even if i never lie to her over anything (even white lies), i am never telling the truth. i am never trusted.

the only “lying” i ordinarily let myself do is my masking. i don’t like lying for other things. a lot of people don’t really like my masking for being a lie, though, even though other people mask all the time. i guess it’s because my masking is more dire? i’m pretending to care, and have an emotional attachment to a person or situation. i guess that makes people feel uneasy, because everyone loves to emphasize how “emotions” and “empathy” and “love” makes you a good person.

honestly i still don’t know what love is exactly??? at least to me. because imo love is different for everyone. i don’t really know how to define it for myself when i have no empathy. sometimes i’ll be made to think about why i love someone, or why an oc loves their partner, and i feel like a piece of shit because i feel like all of my (or the oc’s) reasonings are selfish??? i always hear about people being like, “i love her because she’s so hardworking” or “he’s really passionate about his interests” or something. and i always feel such a way because i never really care about things like that? yeah ill notice it but it doesn’t make me LOVE someone. all my reasons for loving someone that i can think of tend to be in relation to me in some way. could that really be “love”? could love be selfish in such a way and still be “good”? why do i love people to begin with? because they’re nice to me? but that’s not enough. anyone could be nice to me. what makes these specific people special? why do i call it love to begin with when i don’t really know what the word means? why do i hate saying that i love people to their faces?

is it because by saying it, and by them hearing it, that makes it real, and thus it’s capable of being broken or severed afterwards? is it because i’m actually expressing vulnerability, and i don’t like doing that to begin with? why do i not like hearing it being said to me? why do i not like being faced with other people’s vulnerability, but only for this? i have a kind of fascination with people’s deepest feelings, but i dont like when they tell me they love me. but i DO like it when people tell me how they feel about me otherwise, because it helps me feel like i exist.

why is it specifically the words “i love you” that i have a problem with, when i like it when people tell me WHY they love me, instead (because it helps me feel like i exist)? but why do i also feel an aversion to affection similar to that of love letters, where the other person just praises me the entire time? wouldn’t that be contradicting what i just said?

is it because i feel like praise towards me is false or misguided? most of my“self” is my mask. people praising me must be praising my mask. they are praising and showing affection for someone that isn’t me. “you are so cute” “you are so sweet” “you care so much” that isn’t me. i made that person up. don’t say those things when you couldn’t love or even handle the real me. i think that’s what it feels like.

March 7th and Something Deeper

Warning: This post focuses on eating disorders. Please do not read this if that content makes you uncomfortable.

I’ve had it in my head for a while that March 7th has an eating disorder. Since the trio’s trip to Jarilo-VI, I’ve felt like something was wrong, but I couldn’t exactly explain it. When I searched for information about it online, I was given no answer. I tend to look into things too much. It’s a really bad habit of mine, but I wanted to mention this, especially if one day someone else happens to form the same idea and wants to know if anyone else has thought about it.

The girl is introduced to be someone cute. It tends to happen to characters like her, but she speaks about herself in this way constantly, almost to the fact that it feels a little forced. It certainly doesn’t help that she’s constantly taking pictures of herself. It’s stated that she takes these photos so that she won’t forget the events that occurred, but what if there’s more to it than that? What if she also values the times where she feels like she can call herself pretty, and doesn’t want to lose memory of them?

I could honestly write so many paragraphs on my thoughts here, because I really do like March’s character, but I’ll use bullet points to shorten my additional points.

★ March has an unhealthy attachment to juice, asking Pom-Pom for an unlimited amount of it. She says that she can’t stop drinking it. Those that follow a liquid diet tend to develop this attachment, since the liquid is the only thing their body is really given.

★ On the Xianzhou Loufu, March 7th tries to use Immortal Delight—a drink—at the Matrix of Prescience with Fu Xuan in an effort to gain her memories back. There were many dishes that she could have selected.

★ When March brings up food in her data bank, the girl only mentions eating food that doesn’t taste good. “No matter how disgusting the dish, you gotta summon your trailblazing spirit and face it!” Eating foods that someone doesn’t actually like is a form of self-punishment. Since March doesn’t know her past, she has no way of knowing if she was a good person, and she could feel the need to punish herself for her possible actions. She could also feel the need to punish herself for forgetting her past at all, even if her memories have been tampered with. It’s really just odd that the girl wants to accept challenges that Welt, Himeko, and Dan Heng wouldn’t encourage.

★ When asked about what she had come to learn about photography, March’s answer feels out of place, and her phrasing is questionable. "Number one, when taking pictures of terrible cuisines, all the details must be clearly visible on the pictures because 'Taking pictures of food is equal to eating them. Every detail matters.'"

★ March 7th mentions that she wants to be just like Himeko, a woman who has an unhealthy attachment to coffee.

★ It’s suggested that March gets cold easily. If her ability is not ice, but actually some kind of condensed crystal like she insists it is, then an eating disorder would explain this trait of hers.

★ March 7th has been shown to have mood swings, a symptom of an eating disorder. She’s known to be irritable, suddenly getting annoyed by some people’s comments, and diluting their personalities. For example, she thought that Fu Xuan talked too much. March also has increased anxiety that is easy to overlook, continuing to bring up things in the past, such as how Cocolia had suddenly shifted her demeanor after the trio’s stay at the Goethe hotel. Pom-Pom also states that March, the very girl who is so talkative she’ll talk to herself, seems to suddenly become quiet when organizing photo albums or writing in her diary, only to return back to normal afterwards.

All the same, this game isn’t focused on things like this. This won’t be looked into, and I’m quite aware of that, but I think that the signs are still there.
