Carina Mackenzie called Elijah an old dog that doesn't do new tricks, which caused Klaus stans to react with amusement. There was so much backlash for her decision to ruin Hayley and Elijah's relationship in season 4 to set an example in the sociopolitical climate that many of course criticized Delena as a gotcha against her decision even though she didn't work on TVD. Michael Narducci quit TVD after season 4 and TO after season 4 which is why the quality of both shows downgraded.
I'll never forgive the writers for what they did to Elijah and Hayley. That's one of the biggest reasons I have a hard time re-watching TO. If not for Damon's survival, I'd never re-watch TVD. A character's past matters just as much as to me as their current story, and what I see of Damon is that he hasn't lived. He existed for 145 years. There's a difference.

"S7 therapy"  Good one,Kris!
I can see what you mean with regards to Melinda and yes 6×19 was, indeed, brilliant. But unfortunately the same cannot be said about 7×03 and 7×11.I side eyed the flashbacks because they made me physically cringe.I think Allowitz shot that episode. "I don't care about the past..." didn't exactly work for me and I blame the writing and the direction of the retconned story for that.
As for 7×11, I honestly felt bad about Paul.He was not bad at directing episodes but there's so much one can do if the script is terrible.Stefan's post-hell was severely downplayed to service Damon's hell. The voice-overs were stilted and awkward.Stefan's story was plain atrocious.Yes we got a call back to 2×02 via Stefan's hallucination but I had a very dark perspective of those scenes.Stefan's need for his brother multiplied so much for having abandoned him in a faux reality that he not only suffered from insomnia and paranoia but his subconscious guilt for letting his brother drown reflected as hallucination- Damon wanting to Kill Caroline aka his happiness because he didn't believe he deserved to be happy.I might be completely wrong but as a pessimist, this is where my mind went when I watched the episode.(I think Julian faced something similar with Lily when he was in the stone.)This was followed by him not being there when Caroline was dying alone at the hospital and Stefan immediately blaming himself "I almost killed her"(7×12/7×13).I mean if the writers were in the least bit sincere, they could have explained that being the reason why Caroline wasn't there with him since he "killed" her instead of having You-Know-Who be an enabler of his toxic-codependence with Damon to slither into his good books.Don't get me wrong.Maybe as a general viewer or Damon fangirl (which I believe Melinda was)it was an overall good episode but as a Stefan and SC fan, it was thoroughly disappointing.
I had no idea about Rebecca-Elizabeth friendship though. That does explain a lot.I guess it's similar to Plec-Candice, Plec-Paul, Plec-Ian,Plec-Nina friendships. Can we categorise this as workplace politics and blatant favouritism? These kind of stuff are more prevalent in the private/corporate sector,film/television industry being one of them.(Notice how I didn't mention one name here and we all know what she went through and how deserving of quality writing she was.)
Also I think Sonnenshine never liked Caroline. She wrote 4×21/22 where Elena straight up refused to apologise to Caroline for trying to murder her and her mom during her no-humanity bender. No wonder You-Know-Who was so passive-aggressive toward Caroline for no reason although that was a pattern in most episodes, Melinda Tsu's included where she even physically attacked her.
I have heard Rebecca and Michael Narducci are friends too and Rebecca being a small town girl who got out of the small town apparently inspired Narducci to write the "Small town boy small town life" line  to give an insight about how manipulative Klaus was that he would dangle a tempting offer in front of someone to beguile them.Narducci drew a parallel of this scene with 2×22(also written by him)where Klaus did the same with Stefan by making him drink from the blood bags.
7×16 gave me nightmare for weeks and then I convinced myself it was a big f***ing  joke since it aired on the 1st of April.
I do remember reading the door symbolism metas back in the day and I loved them. As for the letter scene in the 7×18,I noticed forced ambiguity in the writing which is why I couldn't care less about it. It felt more like tokenism.Like I said there was an obvious passive-aggressiveness in the way her episodes were written. Also You-Know-Who's treatment of Caroline seemed like she saw her as an inferior. She gave me Quetsiyah vibes at times but at least Tessa was wronged and Amara was part of it.Caroline had nothing to do with what happened with her and yet it seemed like she wanted to put her down consistently for some reason. She even straight up mocked her indirectly calling her an uneducated, unambitious yorkel. I would blame TVD writers for this though since they seem to inherently believe women exist to tear each other apart over men. What infuriated me the most was how SC references like " spinning the globe" (6×20), "something more" (6×19) was used inappropriately in SV scenes.I have no idea why she was constantly self-inserting as Caroline even though she didn't seem to like her. What was even the point?
Anyway, thank you for letting me rant.We could probably write a book on the endless absurdity of this season but it's not worth it.
Haha rant away Anon, I totally get how that can be cathartic.
I do get why the flashbacks in 7x03 bothered people, and yes the way it's shot and the emphasis it's given is all on Dries' direction as showrunner at that time. However for me I really loved Stefan's speech about not caring about the past and only caring about Caroline being there and safe and with him. I love it because whenever that was the situation (which of course was rare on this show) he was his happiest and it's all he ever wanted.
Maybe I need to rewatch 7x11 to remember stuff (but since I'm doing a rewatch I don't want to watch anything out of order) but I didn't really mind getting flashbacks of Stefan's hell. I thought the flashbacks did enough to show how unstable he was after he came out of it and that was why Damon was so unstable. I do agree that the stone was trying to tell him that Caroline was his happiness and Damon was always the one getting in the way of that. I liked that we saw how Stefan needed Caroline to help bring him out of the darkness and then I really loved how we got to see him spill his guts to her when he ran to the baby shower to make sure she was okay. 7x12 I have way more problems with but I guess I've just accepted that was Dries fault and she basically got removed because if it so I just chalk it up to that (I look at it from a Doylist POV). Valerie just found every possible way to insert herself and even Damon called that out in 7x16. She just became so non-threatening in the end and honestly I was happy she got to live, most of the time characters like her get killed off. I mean she really was just a mish-mosh of Katherine and Rebekah as women who wanted Stefan and they would be mean to his current girlfriend (Rebekah) and scheme (Katherine) because that's all Dries could do, rewrite what already happened into a cheap knock-off.
See when it comes to writers having favorites I think that's fine, they're human and they get attached to certain characters just like the rest of us. The key is you need to have a competent show-runner who knows how to not let that favoritism override the script by making sure everyone has clear direction and knows the path. Dries didn't do that, the flow was all over the place because certain writers she could control (Sonnennshine/Young) and others couldn't (Reynolds). I always felt like Elena being a bitch to Caroline in 4x21/22 is just because she's a bitch, and I think Elena HATED TO HER CORE how Caroline excelled at being a vampire when she failed miserably. She hated how much confidence it gave her and how much it elevated her in the 'verse whereas vampirism was the beginning of Elena's downfall. I find the "small town boy, small town life" line really funny now because even though Caroline travelled a bit in regards to the school and helping her daughters in the she still stayed in that small town by the end of the 'verse so he was WRONG HA!
Yeah I can see how it's to each their own in regards to 7x18, one of those episodes I get why people don't like it but I also get why people love it. I love the letter because it was part of an over-arching theme with Stefan that every time he thought he was going to die he only thought of Caroline. The letter to me was more important for the present when Stefan said "I need to write a letter in case I don't make it out of this" because up until that point we didn't really know how much Stefan still loved Caroline (because of Dries!). Also loved how after Valerie entered Stefan's head she realized that too, I mean the episode before this she was all about helping Alaric so she could keep Stefan and then suddenly she was like "yeah there's no point." I just thought it was powerful that after all the scheming Valerie did to get Stefan into her life from Caroline as soon as that scar was gone she didn't even try. I can't remember what the "something more" reference was but the globe wasn't a big SC thing so it didn't get me (stuff like the coffee totally because THAT was their thing). I guess what I'm trying to say is I see the flaws in that season and totally get why most hate it and why it might have been too little too late by the end of the season. But for me the fact that Julie came back and added things to try and how she fixed them made sense it was enough for me to just get over most of the bad stuff (except the snow scene in 7x09).

Warnings: Spoilers for Originals Season 2 Episode 21, Graphic violence, Hayley Bashing, Cursing, Mentions of past tortue
Info You Might Need To Know: "Speaking", I know that after the whole cursing the pack thing, Klaus links himself to his aunt, but yeah no, I don't feel like doing that. (I just wanna focus on the Klaroline) so Dahlia is good (Gray...?) here. For the sake of the story, just go along with it.
Word Count: 5.8K
Requested By: Requested by AaerabellaerieE on Ao3: Hey, I don't know if you finally watched TO, but during the Dahlia fiasco, Klaus "sided" with Dahlia to save Hope and she made the crescent pack be wolves for a month, and human during the full moon. Klaus then managed to get Hope away from the wereslut for a month or so Can you write something like Care coming to NOLA during the time the shewolf was cursed and she took care of Hope and when the wolfwhore manage to break the spell, she came back for Hope, but the kid calls Caroline "mama"
Summary: After Klaus curses the crescent wolf pack, he get's a call from a certain blond with surprising news. She's coming to New Orleans, and this, is going to change everything.

Hayley and Jackson ran outside when cries of pain rang from outside. Hayley gasped, once she saw who it was.
"Good evening, crescents." Klaus greeted, snapping the neck of the man currently in his hold. "It will come as no surprise to learn that things will not be ending well for you."
"Go back inside. Get Hope and Mary out of here." Jackson ordered Hayley, stepping forward.
Hayley shook her head, "I can help you."
"I'll be right behind you." Her husband told her.
"Jack." The women protested.
"Just get Hope and run." Jackson growled. When Hayley flushed away, Jackson and three other men approached Klaus. The original hybrid smirked, as a quick glance showed him, more approaching from behind him. "Let's take him." The alpha of the pack ordered.
Seeing Klaus slam the head of one man into a window, and another against a tree, Jackson took this chance to launch an arrow at him.
The arrow struck Klaus near his heart, but with a grunt he quickly pulled it out. "You think you can defeat me with your toys?"
"We're just getting warmed up." Jackson galred, throwing his bow away.
"So Hayley runs, and you hold the line. How valiant. Not too bright, though. You do remember our last somewhat one-sided altercation." Klaus taunts.
"This ain't gonna be like last time." The baby hybrid answers, his eyes flashing amber.
Klaus managed to effortlessly knock away all the men attempting to reach him. Jackson ran towards him, and landed a punch on the face, only for Klaus to turn around and punch him back. The originals hit, sending the baby several feet back.
Honestly, it was insulting.
They hadn't even been hybrid for years, well Klaus' vampire and wolf are over a millenia old.
Did they honestly think they could beat him?
Yes, yes they did. And they were about to find out just how wrong they truly are.
"Ah. You have gotten stronger. I reckon you've gone from field mouse to lapdog." Klaus said, giving the perfect backhand insult.
"Come on then." Jackson called. Klaus approached him, only for Hayley, using the element of surprise flashed towards Klaus punching him. She flipped him around, and Jackson tried to kick him when he was down, but the second they lost the element of surprise, Klaus flipped the game around. He shoved Jackson away using his foot, and threw him into Hayley, knocking them both down with a single push.
"Enough." Dahlia called, stepping forward.
"Why is she with you, Klaus?" Hayley had the nerve to demand, as if she hadn't just tried to run off to a whole other state with Klaus' daughter without informing him.
"Unlike some, he's doing what is best for his daughter." Dahlia glared at the so-called queen.
"I'm gonna skin you alive!" Hayley growled and began marching towards the two as if she stood a chance against even one of them.
But mid step, the bone in her leg gave away and she collapsed to the ground as sounds of bones breaking ran through the area. "Aah! What are you doing to us?" Hayley cried, trying to play ignorant of her actions. As if she hadn't just been about to attack them.
"Oh, this?" Klaus asked, gesturing to the fallen and in transition hybrids. "No. This was my idea, stealing from Marcel the Crescent curse he once used on your pack. Dahlia was all too happy to make the necessary adjustments to accommodate your hybrid nature. Now you will be trapped in wolf form, save for the full moon, leaving you very little time to cause any further mischief." he answered, more than happy to inform the mutts for the price of their actions. He fully intended for them to do the time for their actions.
"And because of the unification ritual linking you to your pack, now they will share your fate, Queen." Klaus taunted.
"Please. Please don't do this, Klaus. She's gonna steal our baby." Hayley cried out.
Klaus glared at her. "It was you who tried to steal my child, and for that, you will suffer."
As Klaus watched the pathetic wolves cry out in pain, he began to wonder. Would things have been different if she was the one who had Hope?
Yes, they would have.
She would understand what he was doing was for Hope. That he was doing what was best for his daughter. Their daughter in that scenario.
She would support his decision.
She would have never tries to take Hope away from him
Correction. She would have never tried to take him away from Hope. She truly would have never tried to make Hope grow up without her father.
*****
Klaus sighed as his head hit the pillow. Today has definitely been a long day. Elijah and Rebekah wouldn't be able to enter the house with all the protective and alarm spells Dahlia had set up. The 1000 year old witch had officially linked herself to his daughter, and Hayley would no longer be bothering them.
The phone on his bed stand began ringing, thinking it was Elijah, Klaus was about to throw his phone at the wall, till he saw the caller ID.
He instantly sat up and accepted the call, "Hello, love." He smiled through his exhaustion.
"Hi." Her soft voice greeted, and all his worries began to melt away. This was exactly what he needed. "Klaus, I really hate to do this... always calling you just for help. But I- I really need your help."
Klaus frowned, "What's wrong Caroline?" He asked, clearing hearing the tension and worry in her voice.
"Klaus... I'm pregnant." Caroline told him, not knowing how else to tell him.
"What? But how? You're a vampire!" Klaus protested.
"They aren't mine. Biologically at least. Short story, a dying coven implanted them into me, to save them." Caroline told him.
Klaus growled, "Without your consent."
Caroline smiled softly on the other side. Of course he'd know her. Well everyone else had tried to tell her what a great thing this was, how they'd kill for this chance. He knew... that no matter what. She never would have chosen this. "Yes. How'd you know?" She chuckled.
Klaus smiled, "Well you did have plans didn't you? You wanted to build a life for yourself. Plans, a future, things you want." Klaus' smile fell as he realized all these things, things that she wanted, were ripped away from her.
"Caroline, are you alone?" Klaus asked, frowning.
"What, no. Bonnie's with me. She's currently asleep." Caroline answered, she glared at the screen when she heard his growl, "Hey, don't get angry at her. She's human. I'm still a vampire."
"Of course love." Klaus smiled. "So what do you need?"
"Well... since you're the only vampire I know who has experience with supernatural pregnancies, a vampire one at that. I figured you'd know... what to do?" Caroline said, growing quiet. This pregnancy was changing her, and she had no idea why. She needed all the help she could get. And Klaus was the only one who she knew wouldn't judge her or try to pressure her.
"You know about Hope?" Klaus asked, surprised.
Caroline let out a chuckle, "Yeah, gossip like that tends to travel fast. How's fatherhood?"
Klaus sighed, "Well so far, none of my family trust my attention for her, Hayley tried to take her away, and I've been left with no other option than to trust my supposedly evil aunt."
"Hayley tried to take her away?" Caroline gasped.
Klaus smiles, "I tell you I'm siding with my evil aunt and that's the one fact you choose to focus on?"
"It is the most important one. No one had the right to do that to you. Mother or not." Caroline told him. "Plus, I know you. You'd never do something unless you truly believed it's what is best for your daughter. I could never blame you for that."
"I had them link." Klaus finds himself explaining his reasoning to her. "Hope's a tribrid, and a first born Mikaelson witch at that. Her magic is too strong. I may not have Kol's knowledge when it comes to magic, but even I know. That much magic, in such a tiny body. It would kill her. She wouldn't live to see her sixteenth birthday. So Dahlia linking herself to Hope, allows Dahlia power, but it also allows Hope an outlet. Dahlia also agreed to train her to control it. Elijah and Rebekah have been so blinded by Freya and her need to be free of our Aunt. That they don't realize that if Dahlia didn't act like an outlet, Freya would have died a long time ago. I refuse to let that happen to my daughter."
Caroline nodded, "You're doing the right thing." she reassures him. "If Dahlia can help, then calling a truce won't hurt anyone. If they can't see that, they are wrong. Hope is your child. I refuse to believe you wouldn't have anything but the best intentions for her."
Klaus smiled, he could truly always count on her. "How far along are you?"
"Second trimester, five months." Caroline smiles. She had to admit, these two had grown on her. "I'm also, funnily, 50 miles from New Orleans."
Klaus stands up, "What?!"
"Bonnie and I are on our way to New Orleans Klaus." Caroline says, "Now don't get ang-"
"I'm not angry, love." Klaus reassures her. "Listen, I'm currently outside of New Orleans. Not too far away. I'm going to give you an address, come here. Ok."
"Alright." Caroline nods.
*****
Caroline saw Klaus was standing next to a woman who looked to be in her late thirties, when she pulled up. She assumed the brown haired woman, dressed in all black was the supposed evil aunt.
"Bonnie, wake up." Caroline said, gently shaking her friend awake.
The witch groaned as she regained consciousness. "Where here?"
"Yep." Caroline nodded, getting out of the car. She walked up to the porch only to stop when she hit a wall.
Klaus was next to her in an instant, "Sorry about that. Dahlia has a few spells put up to keep... unwanted visitors out."
Bonnie touched the barrier, "I wouldn't call these a few. There's like 30 here."
"32, actually. But close enough." Dahlia corrected approaching the group. "You must be the Bennett witch." She nodded towards Bonnie, before turning her attention towards Caroline. "And you, the pregnant vampire. We have quite a situation on our hands here."
Caroline nodded, "That's one way to put it."
"We can discuss more once we are inside. But for you to enter the wards, I am going to need a bit of your blood." Dahlia told them.
Caroline turned to Bonnie, who nodded, "Seems like standard procedure."
Caroline held out her hand, "Allright."
Klaus watched Dahlia like a hawk as she cut the tip of Caroline's finger, drawing blood. He frowned as he noticed, "Your healing is slower than usual."
"Huh?" Caroline asked, she looked down, seeing the cut only beginning to heal. "Oh, that. Yeah, that's something we've noticed too."
"We were hoping you'd have some answers for us about that." Bonnie sighed.
"Please. Come in." Dahlia said, entering the house again.
The girls followed her into the living room. Dahlia chose an armchair, well Bonnie and Caroline sat across from her on the couch, with Klaus standing behind Caroline.
Dahlia's eyes traveled to Caroline's prominent baby bump. "You're having difficulties with your pregnancy, if I understand correctly. That's why you're here."
Caroline nodded, "My healings slowed down, as you can see. I've been angrier, and my bloodlust has gone through the roof."
"Which is odd. She's always had great control." Bonnie added.
The witch nodded. "Let's start with the least concerning issue and work our way up. For Niklaus sake if nothing else."
Klaus crossed his arms and glared at the witch, not liking the idea of anything being most concerning.
"You've been angrier because of the pregnancy hormones. You're pregnant with twins, which means you're also going to need to feed more. Blood is what allows you to function like a normal human. You may eat human food. But at the end of the day, it is the blood your body is converting into nutrients to nourish the growing babes."
Bonnie gaped, "That does make sense. So far we just assumed it was the human diet the children needed."
Dahlia crossed her ankles, "My advice. Don't fight the bloodlust, you're only going to be harming yourself and your children in the long run."
"So is the slowed down healing a result of that?" Klaus asked.
Dahlia shook her head. "No. The healing is an issue of concern. Magic is what gives vampires the ability to heal so quickly. If you aren't... then that means something is wrong with the magic keeping you alive."
Klaus' spine snapped ruler straight, "What do you mean? How do we fix it?" he demanded.
Dahlia met Caroline's eyes, "Tell me. Do the witches of the bloodline you are carrying have a history of siphoners?"
"They do." Bonnie answered, a chill passing through her as she remembered Kai.
Dahlia nodded, "I guess that's good. It gives us our cause, but also quite a problem on our hands."
"How do we fix it?" Caroline asked, repeating Klaus' question.
"My guess is it. The children are siphoning the magic from you. You're guessing twins, and judging by how slow your healing, after only carrying them for five months, they are both siphoners. If this keeps up, you will not be able to carry the children to term." Dahlia informed them.
Klaus shot a look at Caroline, and then her baby bump. If it came down to the children or Caroline. The choice was obvious for him.
In fact, there was no choice.
He'd always pick Caroline.
"There has to be a solution." The baby vampire protested.
"There is. You are quite fortunate you came here when you did. The answer is to surround yourself with magic. So the babies will Siphon off of us. There are three extremely powerful witches here now. Me, Hope, and your friend over there is quite powerful as well. Surrounded by this much magic, you should be fine for the rest of your term. Though I would recommend bed rest." Dahlia informed her.
Caroline sunk into the couch, great after that statement. Klaus was gonna go all overbearing on her.
Bonnie chuckled from the side, following her best friend's thoughts. She'd be lucky if Klaus let her pick up a glass of water. All his psychopathic flaws aside. She gotta give him credit. If nothing else, he treated her best friend well.
Bonnie turned her gaze when she felt Dahlia's eyes on her, "Need something?"
"Yes. I've been wondering. What line are you from? I can feel it's quite old." Dahlia asked.
Bonnie sighed, "I'm a Bennett."
Dahlia raised her eyebrow, impressed. "I see. Quite humble I see."
"Yeah, well I haven't exactly had the best history with magic." Bonnie shrugged.
Dahlia raised an eyebrow, "How so?"
"My grandmother died before I could learn everything from her. I was tricked into learning expressions as a result of Silas and his games. I died, and came back to life as the anchor. At the cost of my magic. Was trapped in a prison world for months before I even knew I still had my magic. And as soon as I came back, I was forcefully linked to my other best friend. One of us is forced to sleep, well the other is alive. by a crazy sociopath. Now, one of her said boyfriends is trying to hunt me down and kill me so she'll wake up. So yeah, I've been a little shaky." Bonnie shrugged.
"Still. Such a waste. I could teach you again." Dahlia offers. "I would be more than happy to teach the twins as well."
"Yeah, no thanks." Bonnie and Caroline answer at the same time."
Dahlia shakes her head. "It would be such a waste to let such a powerful dynasty die out. All you'd owe me would be a few favors." She then turned to Caroline, "Your children will be siphoners. They will need training."
Caroline felt Klaus hand on her shoulder and sighed. "Fine. I can't speak for Bonnie. But I'll give it a try. So far as I've seen. You're helping Hope, even if it is only for your own benefit. So I'll trust you for now."
*****
Klaus admired Caroline as she began to settle into her new room. Bonnie was right down the hall, and he was right next to her incase she needed anything.
He'd heard about how pregnant women glowed, but he never truly realized how true that was. He never saw it with Hayley. But with Caroline, he could clearly see how the pregnancy amplified her light.
She looked truly radiant.
Caroline looked at him questioningly, "What's wrong?"
"Nothing. I'm just admiring your beauty." Klaus admitted without hesitation.
Caroline let out a chuckle, "I'm five months pregnant. With twins. I look like a beached whale."
"You're glowing. Pregnancy suits you." Klaus told her.
"Yeah. Well I wasn't always so accepting of it." Caroline answered.
Klaus shook his head, "Considering how you came by them. Nobody would blame you. Do you know who the father is?" he couldn't help but ask.
Caroline turned away, and if it wasn't for his hybrid hearing, Klaus would have missed the quiet murmur of, "Alaric."
A growl thundered through Klaus' chest before he could control it. "The hunter. The same one who tortured you?" Klaus demanded.
Caroline nodded.
"And what? They just expected you to be more than happy to give birth to the spawns of your torturer?"
Caroline sighed, "Stefan called it a gift. He said vampires around the world would kill for the chance I was given."
"Valerie, the witch who told us, said it was the only way for the Gemini coven to survive." Caroline explained. "Stefan kept telling me how great this was. Damon was just this pressure that didn't let up. And Alaric? He was the worst. He just had this look on his face."
"It's like everyone just expected me to give birth to the children of the man... of the man who killed my father." Caroline said, her year tearing up.
"And just had to be you?" Klaus asked.
Caroline let out a shaky chuckle, "You know. I asked the same thing. "I suggested moving them into Elena or someone else. But they weren't having it. Damon said it was too risky for her."
"But it wasn't for you?" Klaus growled, reminding himself to rip Damon's heart out the next time he saw him.
"But not for me." Caroline nodded sadly. "I kept telling them this wasn't what I wanted. That I was willing to wait for a few weeks until they found a willing surrogate. But Damon wasn't having it. He locked me up, until I couldn't abort them, or transfer them."
Klaus' eyes flashed yellow. Screw ripping out his heart. That would be a mercy for what he's planning to do now.
"Bonnie then noticed how the children were affecting me. She and Enzo came up with a plan to get me out of there. Enzo created a distraction, and me and Bonnie ran. We've been on the road since."
Klaus came up and wrapped his arms around Caroline. "You're not going to have to run ever again. I promise you. I won't let them even touch you. Or YOUR children."
*****
Caroline was woken up the next day by loud shouting from outside. The baby vampire groaned and turned around, snuggling into the warm body next to her.
Warm body...
What?
Caroline shot up and turned to her side to see Klaus smiling up at her. "Morning love."
"What are you doing? Were you watching me sleep?" Caroline demanded.
Klaus smiled, "I was simply admiring your beauty. You curling into me was a definite beauty."
Caroline glared at him, "Yeah. That isn't creepy. How about you stop taking a page out of Edwards book. K?" She then turned her attention to the window. "Who's shouting this early in the morning?" She asked, feeling like she's heard the voice somewhere before.
"That would be Kol I believe. He's been trying to get in here since three last night I believe. But he can't until Dahlia let's him." Klaus said.
"Are you going to let him in?" Caroline asked.
Klaus hummed, "I still haven't decided yet."
"I say you let him." Caroline said, getting up and walking to the bathroom.
Klaus followed behind her, leaning against the doorway he asked, "Oh, and why's that. Are you still trying to set him up with your friend?"
Caroline shrugged, "You gotta admit. They'd be cute together. "Now get out. I need to change." she ordered, pushing him out.
After she was done getting ready for the day. Caroline decided to throw on a stretchy black tank along with matching black leggings. She left her hair open and put on a soft brown cardigan to bring her outfit together.
She was about to join Klaus downstairs, when she heard crying. Caroline instantly followed the cries to a nursery. The pregnant vampire approached the crib to find a little girl. Caroline smiled down at the baby, "You must be Hope." She cooed.
From the smell, she guessed that Hope clearly wanted a diaper change. She could hear Klaus and Kol in a heated discussion downstairs, likely why neither had noticed the babies cries.
She knew that she should have probably asked Klaus before picking Hope up. But seeing that no one else would be coming up anytime soon, she decided to make an expectation and picked the baby girl up and carried her to the changing table.
She gently placed Hope on her back and gathered the necessary things. A diaper, a wipe, powder, and a change of clothes.
"You're just the cutest. Aren't you?" Caroline cued, gently removing the soiled diaper. She quickly tossed it in the trashcan next to the table, and wiped Hope down. The little girl began giggling and trying to reach for Caroline's golden locks.
The vampire moved her head away, "Yeah, let's hold that off for a while. Ok." She then handed hope a stuffed elephant and quickly placed the new diaper on to the girl.
Caroline quickly put Hope in the cute little white onesie she had selected. It read, 'I may have a small finger but I have daddy wrapped around it.' With daddy's written is a bold purple font. She paired it with a pair of black leggings and purple headband, and Hope was ready.
She carried Hope downstairs to see Dahlia, Bonnie, Klaus and Kol all in the kitchen.
Whatever Klaus was about to shout at Kol, died on his lips as he took in the sight behind his brother.
Caroline was carrying Hope on her side, right over her very prominent baby bump. Hope had one hand dangling a toy, well the other was around a tiny fistful of Caroline's hair.
At that moment, it was just the three of them in his little world.
Life was perfect.
And then, Kol, like always. Just had to shatter it.
Kol followed his brothers' gaze and began laughing at the sight that had his brother so mesmerized. "Who knocked you up? Was it Nik?"
Caroline rolled her eyes, "No. They aren't biologically mine. But I am carrying them."
Kol began laughing even harder, "Oh, I bet he hates that." He said, nodding towards his brother.
"Kol." Klaus growled out, eyes flashing warningly.
"Holy guacamole, you're going to avo baby!" Kol smirks.
"Kol!" Caroline and Klaus growled at the same time.
"Wait, wait. I'm sure I've got another one." Kol laughed. "So I guess you like your eggs fertilized." he said, wiggling his eyebrows suggestively.
Caroline picked up the plate closest to her, and threw it at Kol's head like a frisbee. Hitting him straight in the throat causing him to choke.
Klaus and Bonnie began chuckling at the sight, even Dahlia gave it a side smirk. Hope began giggling as a result of the mood in the room.
Kol got up, and began massaging his throat. "God dammit women. I'm on your side!"
"Are you really?" Klaus asked, raising an eyebrow.
"Of course. Unlike our dearest older brother and little sister. I'm not an idiot. I know exactly why you're doing this." Kol said, getting serious. "Hope has way too much magic. That much magic can begin to poison a person. A lot like expression, if not handled properly." Kol said, shooting a look towards Bonnie who paled. "Hope needs training. Something Dahlia can provide. Because what it seems that the rest of them have forgotten is that Dahlia herself is a first born Mikaelson witch. She knows what she's doing."
Dahlia crossed her arms, deciding to test her nephew. "I'm linked to her." she informed him.
But Kol just nodded. "Smart choice. It will give Hope an outlet until she's ready to learn. If it gives you power. So be it. As long as you don't use that power to pull an Esther and try to kill us. I don't care."
Klaus shot his brother a smile, "Fine. You can set up your room."
"No need." Kol smirked. "I'll just share with Bonnie-"
"No way in hell!" Bonnie glared.
"You'll warm up to me eventually." Kol said as the witch exited the kitchen.
*****
The next two weeks were the most blissful Klaus had in centuries. After the first night, Caroline hadn't pushed him away, and began sleeping in the same bed as her.
So Klaus was blessed with waking up every morning to Caroline wrapped in his arms.
Any possible guilt Klaus could have had of cursing Hayley, was obliterated whenever he saw Hope with Caroline. Dressing her, changing her, feeding her, or simply just holding her.
Caroline had settled into a maternal role for Hope, almost instinctively.
Her mornings started when Hope woke up, quickly getting dressed to feed her, and then get the baby girl dressed for the day.
By then, someone usually had dinner ready. If it was Bonnie, you could expect a classic American breakfast. If it was Dahlia, you could expect a recipe from the past. Klaus always made something from a different part of the world, well Kol. Kol, tending to throw together different things from the pantry. The surprising thing was he could always make it work.
After her first day, it was quickly agreed that Caroline wouldn't get cooking duty until her pregnant taste buds passed.
Then, the next three hours were usually spent with Kol and Dahlia helping Bonnie with her magic.
With Caroline sitting in on the session only for the twins to soak in the extra magic energy that came from the witches. Acting like a 'large magic sponge' as Kol has nicknamed her.
Klaus usually stood over her shoulder, ready to growl whenever his brother came up with an idiotic idea that could potentially effect the pregnant vampire, and/or risk blowing up the house.
Dahlia usually spent her afternoons experimenting in her lab with the power she was drawing from the tribrid.
Sometimes Bonnie spent the day haled up the library with Kol, or she and Caroline spent it cuddling while hopping around the online stores with the Mikaelson cards Klaus had ordered for them shortly after they had arrived.
Caroline usually spent her days in either Hope's play room, with Klaus often joining his girls, or in Klaus studio, with Caroline talking to Hope about various topics, determined to win their bet.
Five days after Caroline and Bonnie had arrived. Klaus and Caroline had made a bet.
*****
"Dada. Come on Hope. You can say it. I believe in you. Come on Hope. Da-da." Caroline encouraged, cooing at the baby.
Klaus chuckled after from where he was sketching. "Shouldn't you be trying to get her to call you first?"
"Yeah, well dada is a lot easier to say then, Caroline. So I'm aiming to take the credit for teaching her, her first word." Caroline said, gently tapping Hope's feet causing the girl to giggle.
Klaus hummed thoughtfully, "I bet I could teach her to call you before you can."
Caroline raised an eyebrow, "Oh, and what does the winner get?"
"Winner's choice." Klaus answered confidently.
"You're on." Caroline nodded, confident in her abilities to teach Hope how to say dada, before Hope could say her name.
But what her pregnancy brain missed, was that Klaus never specified what Hope would be calling her.

The Originals 2x21 Hayley's Crescent Curse
/eMtE78xB_ZU. I love Hayley bashing of any kind. I can't even put into words how happy this moment made me feel. I had tears of joy in my eyes .God I was waiting for Klaus to remind the were-slut that he IS THE ORIGINAL Hybrid.
This was by far my top 3 favorite scenes in the originals, (which I admit isn't that high of a bar considering how the show ruined Klaus). But still, it was BEAUTIFUL.
Especially the cursing Hayley bit. Or better yet, the fact that Hayley actually thought she stood a chance. All of Hope's abilities (That also turned Hayley into a hybrid) came from Klaus. The witch part, vampire part, heck even the wolf part likely came from Klaus! And these mutts actually thought they could take him? Please, he's the Alpha male.
What was the point of the spinoff even, to ruin him? I mean, I've watched some pretty great Caroline in the Originals trailers. Which only made me angrier at the writers. Just imagine how amazing it could have been if Caroline came sooner, and not three episodes before they killed Klaus!
And talking about great Klaroline trailers, I just found this amazing one:
youtube
► The Originals | Trailer [Klaroline Style]
Like Why? Why couldn't it be real!
If I had a penny for every time I watched something Klaroline, I could GLADLY, sponsor the creation of this masterpiece. Honestly the only thing that prevented me from giving it a perfect score would be the Cami scene (I suggest skipping 1:19-1:42). But the rest of the video was so great I can overlook that.
Making their aunt good here, I know you're calling me crazy (In my defense, she was more Gray here than anything). But come on, I just wanna focus on the Klaroline, isn't that why we're all really here! (I honestly lost interest in TVD after Klaus left and they killed Katherine. I only even watched season 7 - and I skipped through most of the season - for the Klaroline phone call)
God this was so long (26 - or was it 24? google doc pages, font size 11 - I believe). So when I finished, I could practically hear "Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah" being played in the background.
This was going to be like 10K (A new record for me I believe), so I decided to split this into 2 parts. Part 2 is already written and just needs to be proofread and I'll post it up. I mostly decided to split this into 2 parts, because sometimes when it's too long, you skim through some of it (a crime I admit I am also guilty of). So part two should be coming soon. A day late at most. :)
Anyways,
KLAROLINE FOR LIFE BECAUSE I WILL GO DOWN WITH THIS SHIP!

INTRODUCTION
In Euphoria Season Two, Episode One, “Trying to Get to Heaven Before They Close the Door,” directed and written by creator Sam Levinson centers around relapsed Rue Bennett (Zendaya) getting way over her head during a drug buy and a high school party. Rue hangs out with drug dealers Fezco (Angus Cloud) and his adopted little brother Ashtray (Javon Walton) during New Year’s Eve. During the buy, Rue finds herself in mortal danger and forced to strip naked during the drug buy showing that she is in a hopeless state of mind. She doesn’t care if she lives or dies. During a flashback, Rue’s narration explains how their drug dealing Grandmother Marie O’Neill (Katherine Narducci) influenced Fezco’s outlook on life.
Rue and Jules Vaughn (Hunter Schafer) struggle with their anxieties and insecurities but are drawn back together during a New Year’s Eve party.
While drunk, Cassie Howard (Sydney Sweeney) sleeps with her best friend Maddy Perez’s (Alexa Demie) ex-boyfriend Nate Jacobs (Jacob Elordi), derailing any emotional progress she may have made. In addition, Nate feels possessive of Cassie the minute they sleep together, possibly creating more problems in the future.
DREAMWORLD
Cinematographer Marcell Rev speaks about how he created a different tone for Euphoria Season Two by using a film camera and designing all the scenes to appear like a memory. The scenes that flaunt this dream-like quality the most are between Rue and Jules.
Absorbing Love
Everything turns black around Rue whenever she spots Jules from a distance. Rue focuses entirely on Jules, making it seem like everything else disappears. The episode doesn’t try to be realistic, instead of capturing how Rue’s love for Jules absorbs her.
Jules moves over to the backyard when her friend Kat Hernandez (Barbie Ferreira) starts flirting with Ethan Lewis (Austin Abrams). She spots Rue hanging out in front of a bonfire. Rue glows. She sits still, standing out because everybody else is moving. Then there is a cut back to a close-up shot of Jules, who looks stricken. Her face glows, contrasting with how all her classmates are shrouded in darkness.
Close-Ups
Rue and Jules chat in front of the bonfire. The conversation is captured with close-up reverse shots that allow the characters to hide their painful emotions. Their dialogue reveals how well they know each other. Jules calls Rue out on the fact that she relapsed. She doesn’t allow her ex-lover to evade answering questions about her drug use. Rue makes Jules guilty by explaining she relapsed after she left her at the train station.
The Apology
The two teenagers are on opposite sides of the living room. Suddenly they are in front of each other.
Rue apologizes to Jules for making her feel guilty. All the shots are extreme close-ups of their faces. Sometimes Jules and Rue’s faces are in complete darkness. Other times you can see every facial movement. The instrumental soundtrack music sounds psychedelic. Rue tells Jules that she wants to be with her.
Everything in the frame goes dark, then the close-up shot slightly lightens. The two teenage girls are shrouded in darkness while resting their heads together. Rue and Jules make out to this now almost heavenly music. It’s almost like older Rue reconstructs her memory of when she confessed her love to Jules. How happy can this couple stay together when Rue continues to take drugs or rests her whole sobriety on Jules’ head?
GRANDMA’S RULES
“Trying to Get to Heaven Before They Close the Door” begins with Rue telling the audience that Fezco’s grandmother is a gangster. Marie is a tattooed stylish drug dealer who influences Frezco’s value system. After his father beats him, she unofficially adopts young Fezco (Mason Shea Joyce). She makes him her business partner even though he is just a child. She teaches him how to pack cocaine, “drug” mathematics and that violence can sometimes be the only solution.
Life Lessons
Fezco repeats many of his grandmother’s sayings and arguments throughout this episode. While bathing baby Ashtray, Marie justifies selling drugs to young Fezco. Her nephew Carl has diabetes because he ate too many McDonalds burgers. Marie doesn’t blame Mcdonald’s for Carl developing diabetes because nobody forced him to eat fast food for every meal. Likewise, she doesn’t force her clients to take drugs.
Fezco repeats the same story to Rue’s childhood best friend, Lexi Howard (Maude Apatow), to argue that God will let him into heaven even if he sells drugs. Lexi points out if she were God, she wouldn’t let McDonald’s’ CEO into heaven. This argument makes Fezco question his grandmother’s logic. Fezco feels drawn to Lexi because she knows all sorts of exciting facts that push him out of his comfort zone.
Violence as Solution
Sweet Fezco tries to protect Rue from herself and doesn’t hurt anybody onscreen. How many drug dealers try to stop their clients from buying their supply? He cleans up Ashtray’s messes when he kills other gangsters. Rue narrates that Marie taught Frezco that violence is the only solution for some problems. Fezco sees Nate as one such problem because he messed with his business, Rue, and Jules.
The episode builds up to Fezco beating Nate to a pulp. During the party, he watches the abusive jock from a distance. Fezco asks Ashtray to pull up the car and be ready for a quick escape. The gangster says goodbye to Lexi and gets her number before he does anything explosive.
Fezco pretends to make up with Nate by offering him a drink. Instead, he viciously hits Nate over the head with a liquor bottle. Fezco repeatedly beats on him until Chris McKay (Algee Smith) pulls him off. The gangster may be sweet, but his violent streak comes out when anybody messes with his family. Marie repeatedly told Fezco that compassionate people are taking advantage of, which makes violence the only solution for those who mess with you.
LAST THOUGHTS
How will Nate react to Fezco’s beating? Can Rue and Jules last as a couple with all their trauma? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.

On the Season 2 finale of The CW series Roswell, New Mexico, while most of the attendees of CrashCon survived unscathed, many of the beloved characters were faced with choices in their own lives that forced them to make decisions that could set them on very different life paths in Season 3. How any of it will ultimately play out, only time will tell, but for now, there’s plenty of time to speculate while waiting for new episodes.
And in the meantime, we got on the phone to chat 1-on-1 with showrunner Carina Adly MacKenzie about tying up all of the family threads this season, shooting the last two episodes at a carnival, the scene that had to be cut, digging deeper into Max’s alien side, which character is most content with who they are, the importance of the abortion storyline in Season 2, how the plan for Season 3 will evolve, and what fans should make of that shocking final moment.
Collider: A lot of threads get tied up in this season finale, and you really pulled together a lot of the family storylines this season, from the Ortecho family, to the aliens and their family history, to Maria (Heather Hemmens) and her mother, to the Manes men, and even Cameron (Riley Voelkel) and Charlie (Jamie Clayton). Was that something that was always a really apparent theme for this season, or was that something that just happened, along the way?
CARINA ADLY MacKENZIE: That just happened. My only experience, other than working on Roswell, was working on The Originals, which was a show about family, so I think that my storytelling inclination is always in that direction. I also think that the age of the characters, when everybody’s coming into their 30s, that’s when you start to build your family, and you start to examine where you came from and decide where you want to go, as far as the people that you surround yourself with. And so, it just came about organically. I like telling family stories. I think that there’s a complicated nature to the people that you’re stuck with and who you were put here with, and figuring out how they fit in your life and whether they fit in your life is an ongoing process.
These last episodes have a lot going on, between a carnival, a fire, and all of these big things happening. What was it like to set these last two episodes in a carnival, and what were the biggest production challenges in pulling all of that off?
MacKENZIE: Well, I’m glad that we did it when we did it because I don’t think we’d be able to do it in a post-COVID world. Honestly, it was easier than I thought it was gonna be. We had a real carnival team come in and set up the carnival. The cotton candy truck was working and you could go get a fried Oreo in the middle of work. [Michael] Vlamis and I rode the rides, during a break. It was not as hard as it seems. We did have to cut one scene that we shot on the Ferris wheel because it turns out that it’s not that easy to shoot on a Ferris wheel in the daytime. I was like, “But I’ve got so many favorite shows that have Ferris wheel scenes,” and I realized that most of those are in the night because you don’t have to worry about these massive shadows getting cast over your actors, while you’re trying to shoot. But really, it was pretty seamless. Our crew worked really hard. Everyone was in really good spirits and really good moods. We shot all night, on weekends, trying to get that done, but everybody was very happy to be there. It was cool. It was fun. It was a little detour into childhood, riding the Sizzler.
Did you have to entirely cut that Ferris wheel scene that you mentioned, or did you just have to move it to a different setting?
MacKENZIE: No, we had to cut it entirely. After it was shot, we looked at it and it didn’t look like our show. It was a scene between Kyle (Michael Trevino) and Steph (Justina Adorno), so I was sad to see it on the cutting room floor, but it’s hard to strap a camera to a Ferris wheel and send it on its way.
Having CrashCon does pay homage to the original series and their UFO Convention. Was that something that you intentionally wanted to acknowledge?
MacKENZIE: Yeah. UFO Con is a huge part of the culture in the real Roswell, so we definitely wanted to get there, eventually. It was a fun journey, deciding how to tell that story. Comic Cons tend to be inside with a lot of people standing in lines, and they’re not that pretty. So, we wanted to figure out a way to tell the story of this convention, but make it look cool and make it pretty. The carnival idea came up, as a closing night carnival, and it was super fun to film. We had a couple of very, very long, very, very late, and very, very cold nights at the fair, but it was fun for the crew. I think everyone was in super good spirits, and it was a fun way to end our run for the season.
Just when Max (Nathan Parsons) really does have everything that he’s wanted, he seemed as though he was willing to risk it all, in order to keep pushing for answers about his alien side. Why did you want to dig deeper into that, and why is he willing to put everything else on the line, right now, in order to get those answers?
MacKENZIE: When we meet with Max in Season 1, he has very much rejected his alien side. He’s got this whole never be extraordinary rule in his life. Knowing Liz (Jeanine Mason), and being in a relationship with Liz and seeing how inquisitive she is and how much she strives to solve the mysteries of the universe, has really affected him. I also think that, for a long time, he was willing to settle for a life that he was only half living, and seeing Isobel (Lily Cowles), in particular, really come into her own this season, and learn about her background and who she is and who she wants to be, has really influenced him. He’s got a curiosity that he just can’t satiate. Ironically Liz does, too, but their interests are not aligning.
By the end of this season, who would you say is most content in knowing what they need to do next?
MacKENZIE: I think a person who is most content, at the end of the season, is Alex. Losing his father, his renewed relationship with his brother, and the ongoing coming out process that he’s been experiencing, has brought him to a place where he’s figured out a way to be who he is. I think that we’re gonna see him really blossom next season.
I love that you also were able to not only have him find his voice figuratively, but literally, as well, with the song that he sang (called “Would You Come Home”).
MacKENZIE: Thank you. I’m really proud of that song. I wrote it with Leslie Powell and Charlie Snyder, who are really phenomenal songwriters. I’ve been writing songs for a long time, and this is the first time anyone’s ever actually heard one. It was really cool to put ourselves into Alex’s shoes and to direct Tyler in the performance of that, when we were in the studio. I love the way that the montage came together, and I’m very proud of it. I’m really excited for it to be out there. We’re going to release it on all of the various platforms, and all of my royalties are gonna go to the Trevor Project. Hopefully, it’ll do some good for the character and some good for the world, ultimately.
I also have to commend you on the whole abortion storyline this season. Abortion is clearly a topic that TV shows tend to avoid, and when shows do take that risk, they also tend to never say the word. Do you think that this being a sci-fi show and the character being an alien helped, in being able to explore that, or do you think that you would have been able to do that anyway?
MacKENZIE: I think I would have been able to do it anyway. I actually think that it was really important to tell that story in a very human way. The big conflict that came up was the amount of blood that we saw in the episode. There was a suggestion from the network, at one point, where they said, “Can you make the blood iridescent? Can you make it look alien and put the same effect on it that you put on the pods and on the glass?” And I dug my heels in really hard and said, “No, it needs to look bloody. It needs to look ugly. It needs to look like an act of violence. Forcing a woman to essentially perform an un-medically supervised abortion is an act of violence.” And ultimately, I’m really grateful for the studio and the network’s support in that. It was important that it felt very much like a human moment because that’s how we told it. We wanted to say, “Okay, what does this really look like? What does it really feel like, to be a woman in a desperate situation without access to the care that she needs?” I’m very, very proud of that storyline. It was hard and it was scary, but I think that we told it with a lot of love. I was very, very proud of Lily and very proud of Nathan. It was tough, but it was definitely worth it.
I’m guessing that you had a plan for Season 3, before you knew how the world would be changing. Will you be able to hold onto what you wanted to do for the third season, or are you thinking about and re-evaluating everything that you had planned to do?
MacKENZIE: Well, interestingly enough, the writers’ room took a break before George Floyd’s death. When we took a break, we had sketched out an entire season that was built around racism in the police department in this small town. And so, we are looking at that story with new eyes. We’re still gonna tell the story, but the pressure is on, more than ever, to get it right because it feels like the world is tuned into that station right now. So, we’re re-evaluating that, on our storytelling side, and obviously, we are also paying a lot of attention to how things evolve, as far as how we can tell our stories safely. We have a lot of contingency plans for how to sketch out a romance, if characters can’t be touching and kissing, as much as normal. And if we can’t pack our diner and our bar set full of extras, how do we tell stories in those spaces? One of the things that I learned, working on The Originals, from Michael Narducci, who was the showrunner over there for awhile, was that no matter what happens on set, when you’re the showrunner, even if it’s not your fault, it is your problem, and that’s how we’re approaching storytelling. The virus is frustrating. It’s not our fault and it’s annoying to have to re-evaluate the way that we tell stories, but our cast and crew’s safety is really, really important. And so, we are trying to creatively write our way out of a difficult situation, as every writer in town is trying to do right now. As an industry, we’re just gonna have to have to evolve and our audience is gonna have to evolve a little bit. We’ll manage.
Obviously, the end of the finale has a shocking moment, in regard to the aliens. What should we make of that? Is that something that will also be a big part of the next season?
MacKENZIE: Yeah, we’ve got a new character, and he’s around for the long haul, Farmer Jones. He’s gonna have some answers, and he’s gonna really take what the characters think they know about where they came from, why they’re here, and who their families were, and challenge those ideas. Jones’ story of what happened in 1948 is very different from Nora and Louise’s take on the story. We dug into Michael and Isobel’s family in Season 2, and I think it’s time that we do a little exploring with Max and make up for all of that work that Nathan was not doing, at the beginning of Season 2, and put him to work twice in Season 3.

What are some of the tvd to fandoms greatest hits so to speak... I was only in it for a short time and then jumped out because I couldn't stand to
Oh, well allow me to be your guide. This will be under a read more because I already know, I’m gonna write a whole essay. Shout out to my ride or die @hellsbellschime.
I don’t think any overtly crazy happened during the good!TVD years. No wait, I’m lying.
The year the spin-off got announced, I believe it was tvguide, that posted an article with like info tidbits for currently airing shows. And one of them, was that Hayley was pregnant with Klaus’ kid. I remember this shit so clearly, man. Everyone was so confused. And then they were like SURPRISE, APRIL FOOLS. Because it was in fact April 1st. So ha-ha we all had a laugh, great. Fastforward to what, late April? Episode 4x20 airs, and it’s exactly what happened???
That whole day btw, the day the backdoor pilot for TO aired was just insanity. I’ll say that about a lot of days in this answer, but that day was really just something else. Like we were delirious, that’s the only way I can explain what happened on here. It was a nightmare but also one of the funniest night’s I’ve ever spent on here. I gotta go back for old time’s sake and reblog some of the shit from that night because we all snapped. And not in the good way.
The TVD 100th. Now, we knew Joseph was coming back for that episode so they hype was real. Because up until that point, we’d gotten a huge load of nothing in regards to Klaroline. They released a trailer, a short one, that’s still in my favorites folder on youtube to this day. I rewatch it all the time because it’s iconic. And there was literally .002 seconds of Klaroline. It’s Caroline standing and then Klaus says “hello, caroline” and everyone lost their shit so much when it dropped that ‘hello caroline’ trended ww on twitter.
THE DAY THE NETWORK THAT AIRED TVD IN AUSTRALIA AIRED A PROMO WITH THE KLAROLINE KISS IN 5X11. ICONIC. I literally woke up, logged on at around 11 AM my time, and my dashboard was on fire. It was the BEST. We didn’t know wtf to do, it was amazing.
Paleyfest. Ohhhh buddy, lemme tell ya. So TVD/TO got chosen to have the CW panel’s at Paleyfest that year. Everyone was on a bit of edge because TO to that point was what, almost done with S1 and Klaroline had been given the mega cold-shoulder despite being the very thing other than the Mikaelson’s that got used to lure people in? After the pregnancy plot from hell, everyone was ready to peace tf out, but we got halted because it was a ‘ohh of course it’s gonna continue’ then they tried to nip Klaroline in the bud with 5x11 and no one was having it. So Paleyfest was where we were gonna get some ANSWERS, DAMMIT. I live on the east coast and the festival was held in the west coast so I wasn’t awake when it was happening. I remember making a post about how ‘going to sleep, and hoping when I woke up the answers were good.’. So I went to sleep, woke up a few hours later like 2-3 AM my time, and checked my blog and the first message I had was ‘don’t wake up stephanie, everything is a mess, stay asleep where everything’s fine’ I—
The gist of that was, they basically set JoMo up to be the bad-cop in shutting down Klaroline. He gave this long answer that made absolutely zero sense. The girl who asked the question about Klaroline, who was like 13 at the time, got called a bully for even asking a question at an event she paid to be at. A mess. And JP was like NO CROSSOVERS, ORGANIC, BLAH BLAH. And Paul was sitting next to her going “why can’t the show’s just intersect”, he was right and he said it.
I can’t remember if this was S1 or S2, but somebody tweeted something and Carina replied ‘when you’re found dead in your basement with klaroline written on you this is why’ or something like that, that was a ~fun~ night. And then like half an hour later she was like “I’m sorry, I’ll never tweet about Klaroline again just leave me alone” if you’ve ever seen this fandom refer to ourselves as basement dwellers, this night is why.
NARDUCCI. Can’t forget him. Talk about a man who just didn’t get it. And I don’t mean Klaroline, he just didn’t get anything, nothing in his head has ever clicked, I’m convinced. He used to pick fights on twitter repeatedly. Admitted once that he missed his flight because he was on twitter…arguing with a fan. AND ONE DAY, he decided to just—snap. Went on this hours long tirade against the Klaroline fandom, essentially calling everyone stupid because no one was appreciating the ‘art’ of the show. So when I say it lasted hours, I mean that. Now, you’d think, that he would be done, right? WELL, apparently that wasn’t enough, so the next day, he continued. I remember because I was in this gc on whatsapp, and I remember Erika sending a message to the gc going “omg, Narducci vs KCers round 2″ when I tell you I screamed. The man went on a two-day rampage against this fandom and it was insane.
S6/S2 of TVD/TO was not a fun time. I can genuinely say it was borderline a chore to come on here during that time. It wasn’t fun, every day someone was in argument with someone from production on twitter. Truly the worst year of the fandom, imo. So S7/S3 rolls around and that’s where shit went nuclear.
Hillary and I, are minding our own damn business, when someone come’s to us with information regarding the new seasons. This was post-SDCC, so it’s like the lull of September, waiting for the seasons to start in October. And we get approached with information, talkin bout how Caroline’s gonna be pregnant with Alaric’s twins in S7. When I tell you we didn’t know wtf to do. And we had to like wait on confirmation about it but then we found out it was legit and we were pissed. Literally ask us if we wanted to be in the spoiler game, the answer is no tf we did not. And she and I basically spent two days complaining. LIKE UGHHHH WE DON’T WANNA DO THIS, BUT ALSO THIS IS DISGUSTING, WE CAN’T JUST LET THEM SPRING THIS ON EVERYONE, BUT AGHH WHY US. So we chose collectively, as a duo, because das my other half yo, to blab.
That went over as best as anyone could hope for it to go. Now, flashforward yet again, this time to around late Novemeber/December. I had been sent word that something was going down. TVD/TO lost their Thursday slots and got bumped to Friday’s, so a plan was going on, and they made one. We’d heard that they were rearranging something mid-season because they were gonna make a crossover work, publicly we found out it would be Paul and JoMo that crossover back-to-back. THEN ONE NIGHT—I call it black friday bc  that day was a fucking mess—, a friend of mine was friends with an SCer, I wanna say, and she was hearing word that the crossover did have Klaus and Caroline interact via phone call, but that it was very definitively an ending. Because they spoke about Camille and Stefan, etc, etc. Like a closing of the book type thing. So okay, we were like devastated, everyone on twitter was losing their shit. Everyone was pissed, and @-ing the writers all these crazy, sad things, we were a wreck. Ask Hillary about this night because she, I remember, describes it as ‘logging on and reading what everyone else had and not understanding why tf everyone was mad about it’. It was the first and last time that our roles were reversed, and bless her for it.
SO WE’RE SITTING THERE, it’s Saturday, and we kept getting more information and we were like…something isn’t right here. So we did a bit of digging, spoke to a few people and waited it out. LO AND BEHOLD, everything we’d heard about the phone call was false. There was a phone call but the CKers and SCers were so mad about what was actually said in it, that a few of em, ring leaders of the feeble minded, made up a version and passed it around their fandoms as legit till it eventually worked it’s way over to us. So we all jumped the gun on fake information, lmfskdnknsks. Rumor has it, you can still hear Hillary yelling ‘I told you so’ at me through our group chat.
So all was well, I couldn’t tell everyone why not to panic, just that they didn’t need to. Until, this account popped up called tvdspoiler or something on twitter, also saying false information about the phone call. Sending everyone into a panic yet again. I remember this because I was at  kmart with my mom, and the kmart by my house was in a basement so I had no cell service. I was able to send like a couple of messages, and was basically like ‘tell everyone to chill, I’ll clear it up when I get home’ did that in like a couple of hours cause then I had to leave to the midnight showing of the force awakens with my friends. So that day was chaotic, but fun. It was the first time I reached 99+ messages on my inbox, lmao.
So that all happened like a good while before we actually saw the episode. But cut to a few weeks later. I woke up at 1 AM my time to drink water, was on tumblr trying to go back to sleep. I checked my inbox and there was this bizarre message talking about ‘got some scoop’ and they were like ‘Finn dies in 3x17, Aurora gets put into some weird sleeping spell in 3x18, Camille and Davina die in 3x19, Lucien dies in 3x20′ and I quite literally laughed??? Literally who wouldn’t. Like who tf would ever believe TO had the balls to do all of that when they never killed anyone off. AND, WHO WOULD BELIEVE THAT SOMEONE WOULD JUST STOP BY, SHARE IT AND LEAVE. So I sent a screenshot to Hillary and was like ‘yo did you get this because wtf’. We often got duplicate messages. And we often got messages of people who were pissed about the two previous times we, from the klaroline fandom of all places, had legit info that wound up being true, that they were just waiting for us to fuck up. So we used to get messages of people pretending they were sharing info, and it was just antis trying to make us look stupid.
SO, Hillary says ‘just answer it because it’s obviously fake’ top ten moments before disaster. I answer it and am like oh haha, and where did that info come from. And they came back like a minute later, saying ‘I have a source’ THEN THEY ELABORATED. They mentioned that Lucien drags Freya and Vincent to Mystic Falls to do this spell with some bullet and etc. So at that point we were like fUCK because that same day we’d found out was in 3x16, which ended with Lucien and this white-oak bullet, having kidnapped Freya. And that’s when we knew, that someone showed up in the middle of the night, spoiled the whole back-half of TO S3—and then left.
The back-half of S3 was so fun??? Every week the info just kept coming true. On the wikia everyone hated me, probably the most anti messages I ever had was during that time, honestly it was great, 10/10 would recommend.
THEN, at some point in our blog history, Hillary had been getting quite a few messages about PT. And she had this fucking line in one of the messages about Phoebe’s pronunciation with her accent for the show, or lack thereof. And she said “weeches and woves will always have a place in my heart” SO THEM PHOEBE TWEETED IT. THAT EXACT LINE, and we were like was she...? So we shrugged off okay. A few days later, she tweeted “hellsbellschime enough, there’s plenty of other things to watch on tv, I hear mad men’s great.” And I—
THIS WAS ON SOME RANDOM ASS SUNDAY. Like I was lounging around, waiting for the new episode of game of thrones and then WHAM, chaos. AND AS IF THAT WASNT ENOUGH, Leah joined in too. Putting a target on my friends back...about her blog that no one was making them read. You can’t make that shit up. And Jenn actually replied to Phoebe’s tweet and got a reply back, and she was all “you’re right, I’m sorry” and then deleted the original tweet, which I still have a screenshot of btw. And then Leah showed up in Hillary’s inbox with this ridiculous three part ask about how she shouldn’t criticize women in the acting industry because of how hard it is for women in that industry which is true, but it doesn’t make you exempt from criticism??? So not sure where she meant to go with that one.
SO THERE WE HAVE IT, our fandom’s greatest hits. I’m sure I can elaborate and insert more, but I’ve been typing for a good 40 minutes.
Told ya, I wrote a whole dissertation, lmaooo.

The Originals was a waste, New Orleans was whitewashed and so much was retconned just to make it work lol. Anyway, the spinoff should've been about Bonnie who has family roots in NOLA, the Bennett Coven as a powerful matriarchy + she and Tyler both go there to be leaders of their respective factions, and their interactions with Marcel and the supernatural politics and Southern Gothic aesthetics. But, I still want Tristan, Aurora and Lucien there + The Originals as antagonists maybe
Did Bonnie have roots in New Orleans? I don't remember that, but I never actually watched the last two seasons of the show so I could have missed something. I could have sworn early seasons said that Bonnie's ancestors (post Qetsitah and Ayana) were from Salem (probably an allusion to Tituba), though if I remember correctly, I thought the Martin Family (Jonas, Luka, and Greta) came from Louisiana originally.
All that aside, you're completely right when you talk about them completely whitewashing New Orleans. That city has a huge African-American presence, and we saw a grand total of maybe three or four characters that were black that had any prominent presence in the show? Everything else, including the city's founding being attributed to those viking vampires instead?
Yeah, I call bullshit.
And that's not even getting into the missed opportunity of the native Creole and Cajun populations, something that is unique to that area.
That entire show was a missed opportunity.
And I agree with you regarding Bonnie and Tyler. Hell, throw in Matt and Jeremy, too and we could have built up an entire show around those four, given their unique roles in the Mystic Falls Gang and how they were all criminally underused on TVD. Tyler in particular, especially given what we later found out about werewolves and their origins being in New Orleans. They could have very easily kept Klaus in Mystic Falls to creepily stalk Caroline and Stefan, while making a spinoff show about the supernatural community of The Big Easy.
Let's just set this up here...
The Originals started after season four of The Vampire Diaries, so after the MFG graduated high school. That right there would have been the perfect opportunity to do a clean break rather than keep the same group together after high school when generally everyone goes their seperate ways. So after graduation, Bonnie's still alive because fuck you, Plec! Jeremy's alive, too, and everything else is pretty much the same. Matt goes off on his Eurotrip with Rebekah to get it out of his system and Tyler has been exiled from his own home by Klaus' neurotic paranoia. What next?
Well, rather than everyone going to Whitmore for college, let's say that Matt was accepted on a scholarship to Tulane or something, actually give the poor boy a chance, so when he comes back from Europe he heads off for New Orleans right away. Or hell, even have him be an O'Connell, because by that point we still had no idea who his dad was, maybe even have him work as a bartender or something at Rousseau's. Let's say Tyler is already there, having been kicked out of his own home, exploring his ancestral roots and bonding with the local werewolf pack - we could explore what it means to be an actual leader of a pack (something Tyler did voluntarily rather than being forced into it like Hayley... werewolf queen, my ass). Bonnie goes on her road trip with her mother before hearing about the witches of New Orleans and decides she wants to know more about her craft so she heads there. And Jeremy, he left home because of his Hunter's instinct, chasing down rogue vampires that kill people for fun, hunting one to New Orleans. Maybe even have him explore the myth of Rayna Cruz.
So many possibilities!
Boom, we have four characters right off the bat, and can then introduce characters like Marcel, Vincent, Keelin, Jackson, Davina, Sophie, etc. We could get into the politics between the different supernatural factions of the city and see how they test the friendships of this people who have known each other since childhood, rather than have everything revolve entirely around the Mikaelsons and their borderline-incestuous drama.
I should be a showrunner. I'd do a better job coming up with a story than Plec or Narducci ever did.

I've seen ckers say Cami's death wasn't part of the original plan. If that's true do you know what 3x19 was originally about?
100% she wasn’t meant to die, because a fan asked one of the writers about it and her response was:
Tumblr media
Can I also just say how nonsensical this is? Like they don’t have the ability to change this haha.
We knew, before this, that her death was last minute.
There was the whole vampire angle, and how Narducci called Leah to tell her that they were killing her but not to worry because it wasn’t permanent. That doesn’t sound like someone who planned on killing her less than 9 episodes later. And if they intended on Cami dying this season, why even have a fake death and turn her into a vamp? Why have her character proclaim she was turning so she could make a difference and fight? Why tease Lucien telling her against vampires humans always lose, so then have her be a vampire, and him kill her anyway? Why repeat her death in an almost identical fashion, only this time with Lucien instead of Aurora? Why have back to back episodes of Finn and Cami dying the same way? Why create a storyline where Cami needed revenge against Aurora, delete those scenes (they’re on the DVD), and then have her suddenly do a 180 and say she’s not about that revenge? Why keep Aurora alive so Cami could get that revenge only to kill Cami and leave Aurora alive STILL? Why have Cami hellbent on getting her dark objects, just so she dies and gives them to Hayley? Why build Cami and Hayley’s relationship to take it nowhere? Why was Hayley training her? Why give klamille all this breakup angst if she was just going to die? Why did Freya not remember the spell she spent her entire life cursed by, but only remember it the day after Cami died?
I haven’t even covered it all. I could go all night. There’s a lot of issues with the narrative and how it didn’t build toward her death. Then you factor in that Narducci flat out ran from twitter that night and returned later to pretty much say, “I’m sorry. I’ll do better next time.” It just sounded like someone who was sort of forced into doing something that he couldn’t realistically defend. It’s especially weird since he’s the type who always went on twitter to defend his decisions.
To answer your question, I don’t know with any certainty, but I fully believe the season was originally supposed to end with Hayley, Hope and Cami leaving together to try to save the Mikaelsons. Because they were creating this dynamic of Hayley being the brawns and Cami being the brains, and it just seemed sort of odd that they would start building this relationship between them just to cut it off out of nowhere.

The Originals 5 x 06 “What, Will, I, Have, Left”
I went into it already hating it. Justifiably.
Let’s get away with the few good things first.
Klaus and Caroline (who went after Hope and Roman on a road trip) were cute and great, but it’s hard to be happy about it, considering.
(Though, there was also that BS about Caroline never feeling safe, when Caroline was the only one who was safe around Klaus to the point that the gang sent her to distract him because he would never hurt her – except that one time... you know, these writers and their inconsistencies started long before now in TVD S4.)
As always, loved Vincent and Freya’s friendship.
I also loved Ivy and Vincent and her asking him when he was last happy (poor guy, before Sabine even) and telling him keeping things away from people is also taking away their choice and not knowing is sometimes worse than knowing (re: telling Declan about the supernatural, since he was worried about Hayley.)
Oh, and BTW, Declan is Camille’s cousin? (Okay, he’s Irish, fine, but weren’t the O’Connells the last of their line or something? IDK, my memory is faulty. And I don’t give a fuck either way.)
I also loved Hayley and Hope (Hayley is really such a great mother!), but that is where the pain starts.
We’ve all known this would happen since last year’s SDCC and I can’t even cry; I’m just beyond pissed off.
Okay, so, Roman brought Hope to Hayley, believing Greta just wants them to bind their hybrid side and then they would let them go and everyone would live in peace. Stupid naïve boy. Though, I guess him having his family slaughtered twice, once by werewolves and then by Klaus (Although, wait, Klaus didn’t do it, did he? (I guess he meant ‘extended family’ or something’?)) explains his devotion to Greta, but still.
Greta, meanwhile, went to Antoinette to lie about being worried about Roman’s involvement with Hope that required Elijah protecting him from Klaus and they fell hook-line-and-sinker for it. Antoinette was clued in that it wasn’t like that when Roman called with the true version, but couldn’t go after them before nightfall.
Hayley agreed to the binding so she would break the cloaking spell (because Hope cloaked her as a hybrid) and so Hope could escape – because Hayley couldn’t due to being just a vampire now and it being daylight outside.
Unfortunately, Greta arrived just then, backed by Elijah who snapped Caroline’s neck and fought Klaus who arrived at the same time.
Greta tried to convince Roman to kill Hope, then a fight with Hayley ensued and since Hayley was impeded by sunlight, Greta got the upper hand and almost ripped her heart out, but Hayley broke her hand at the last moment and lurched both of them outside to burn in the sun.
And all that time, Elijah was repeatedly staking Klaus, so he couldn’t have helped.
Yeah, what a great fucking idea this train of events was.
And for what? For what?!
But before I get to that, this whole SL doesn’t make sense.
For starters, where was Marcel the entire episode? Yeah, I know CMD was directing, but he is more than capable of doing a great job of both directing and acting in the episode, as proved by 4x07 (not to mention all the eps directed and acted in by his co-stars and countless other actors on other shows.)
Are you telling me Marcel wouldn’t be the first Freya and/or Klaus called for reinforcements? Are you telling me he wouldn’t be doing everything he could on his own, anyway, to find Hayley and Hope and worrying every single moment? Are you saying he wouldn’t jump at the first possible moment to help when he learned where Hayley is? BS.
So, Marcel was just inexplicably non-existent.
That’s one, and far from stupidest writing decision.
Two: the whole Elijah is the only one who can stop Klaus thing? Are you kidding me? Did we forget how in S2 of TVD the only way for Elijah to get to kill Klaus was catching him when he was vulnerable during the moment of transformation when breaking the binding? And that was even before he was a hybrid! And ever since then, the only couple of times that Elijah one-upped Klaus was when catching him unawares and even that not for long.
But never mind. Let’s give that a pass, Elijah caught him by surprise and Klaus was perhaps not giving 100% because it was Elijah and he was also distracted by wanting to help Hayley (but wouldn’t he achieve that by incapacitating Elijah the fastest? And wouldn’t Klaus in a rage fit to help the mother of his child be even stronger than normally?) But, fine, let’s leave it.
Three: we also forgot about the Hollow and two Originals being in proximity for more than a second brining all the signs of doomsday around, let alone two Originals being in proximity to each other AND Hope. No, nada this episode.
So much sloppy writing.
(Three/II: Elijah’s memory loss/compulsion. Why didn’t it wear off by him having burnt himself in the sun? That could count as a temporary death even for an original? (Speaking of, even an Original should need some time to recover from that, but it’s been a few days at most and he’s as good as new.) Also, apparently Elijah put his daylight ring back or had a new one made? For the greater cause, right? Or did we just forget the burning in the same line that we mentioned taking the ring off? Shoddy writing galore. Okay, whatever.
Also, I’ll grant them that since Vincent and Marcel compelled Elijah for his own good/per his own request, they maybe wouldn’t want to decompel him and/or they couldn’t have done it on such a short notice when seeing his being compelled is actually detrimental to everyone. Just let’s not forget that per universe canon people can be decompelled by whoever compelled them.)
Four: Rebekah and Kol haven’t existed since 5x02/3, either. No need to at least mention them by a line of them being worried about Hayley and Hope or anything, nope.
Five: I get that Vincent might not want to help, as he doesn’t, but why wasn’t at least Freya there? Maybe she was still on the way? Because you’re not telling me she wouldn’t think that maybe they would need a powerful witch to help? She broke up with Keelin for her family’s sake, FFS, and now she would just idly sit by when finally finding Hayley, not run to her aid? Please.
And, lastly, but not the least important reason why this doesn’t make sense: I’ve heard a lot of people saying the writers chose to kill off Hayley to free Klaus for Caroline, and I don’t know what the writers were thinking, but as much as killing one ‘love interest’ to make space for another is shitty, it’s even shittier in this case (if that had been their reasoning), because it was completely unnecessary.
Because, as per canon, Hayley and Klaus weren’t even a thing. Ship and fanon them as much as you want, but in canon Hayley and Klaus had a one-night stand resulting in pregnancy that had them gradually become friends and amazing co-parents, but Hayley was no obstacle whatsoever for Caroline.
So, Hayley died for nothing.
(I mean, her dying so she could free up the space for Caroline would’ve been terrible, but they don’t even get to have that excuse for killing her off. The fuck!)
Sure, she took Greta with her. But Greta could have been dealt with in a number of different ways, by Klaus himself, by Freya, by Marcel, or the three combined; by writing Elijah’s memory loss differently, or not at all, etc.… and if I can think of that in a couple of minutes, there was no reason the writers who are paid to spend time on it couldn’t have done it, except that they didn’t want to.
They just wanted to kill her off for ‘drama’ and they failed even at that because we’ve known about it for nearly a year now, so it was no shock at all. (It does still make me beyond angry, though.) And they knew it wouldn’t go over well and had the time to change it, but went on with it anyway.
Fuck that.
And if Elijah miraculously regains his memory by seeing Hayley die, as I think some spoilers said as well, it will just be that much worse and senseless.
I knew this season would be shitty as soon as they said JP was taking back the reigns and Narducci was leaving (not that the team under Narducci was flawless; killing off Camille could’ve been avoided as well; but at least they made a lot more sense most of the time.)
Anyway, I’ll probably hate-watch the season through, because I’m a masochist, and then I’ll take the few worthy bits and pieces (mostly just the premiere, TBH) and forget the rest of the crap even happened.
And afterwards I’ll probably re-watch the first four seasons – because those were one great show – and just imagine myself a happy ending for everyone (which I’ve already written, ha!)

Today's Special
"Rise and shine, it's pancake time!"
~Unknown
*****
Klaus groaned as rays of sun hit his face. He turned around to move to the other way and snuggled into the body next to his.
The body next to his...
The hybrid's eyes flew open and he shot up. His gaze turned to his side to see who was next to him.
Instantly his eyes softened and his body relaxed.
Caroline was in one of his shirts and a pair of boxers, sleeping peacefully as her hair was spread out on her pillow like a soft, golden halo.
He gently ran a finger down her cheek, making sure that he wasn't still dreaming.
*****
Elijah, Hayley and Freya were surprised to find an unknown woman standing over the stove, with Kol and Rebekah sitting on the stools next to the counter.
"Mis. Bennett?" Elijah asked, shocked.
"Morning Elijah." Bonnie greeted. She then turned to Freya, "You must be the older sister I've heard so much about?"
Freya laughed. "Good things I hope."
Bonnie smirked, "I guarantee it would be a lot better then the were-slut over there."
"You have a problem with her." The blond witch asked.
Bonnie nodded, "A bit. Mostly my best friend. And you know the girl code. An enemy of one. Is the enemy of all."
Kol walked over and dumped a quarter bag of chocolate chips into Bonnie's pancake batter. "Kol." Bonnie chastised.
But the original silenced her with a kiss on the lips. "Come on daring. You know you can never have enough."
"I win." Hope giggled racing into the kitchen.
Lizzie and Josie slidded in soon after her. "No fair. You already knew the way." The blond pouted, causing the tribrid to laugh.
Elijah was even more surprised to see two more girls there. Well Freya was confused to see the two young witches. Hayley was scowling at the girls next to her daughter.
Well Rebekah remained unfazed to see the girls there. She quickly walked over to the two girls and gave them a quick hug. "Where's your mother?" She asked.
"In daddy's room." Josie answered.
Kol smirked deviously. He looked down at the girls. "How about this. You go wake your parent's up. And if you can bring them down within ten minutes. I'll add extra chocolate chips into your pancakes."
Bonnie's shout was completely overpowered by the girl's cries of glee as they quickly followed Hope back upstairs.
Kol ignored Elijah's questions about who the girl's were, as well as they're parents. Instead choosing to tune into his brother's room. Laughing when he heard the girls slam open the door without knocking. Rushing in without a care in the world.
*****
The baby vampire's eyes fluttered open, "Good morning." She groaned, gently stirring.
Klaus smiled and leaned down to gently kiss her on the lips, "This is definitely one of the best mornings I've ever had."
Caroline laughed gently into the kiss. "Really?" she asked, teasingly.
He kissed her again, "I know how we can make it better."
"Oh yeah?" She challenges.
Klaus leaned down to unbutton the shirt when they hear a flurry of footsteps running towards their room.
Klaus leans up just in time to see the room's door bang open and a seven year old leading the charge, with two five year olds running after her.
Honestly, with the way they entered every morning. If it wasn't for their supernatural hearing. The girls would have been scarred for life, several times over.
"Daddy! Mommy! Wake up!" Lizzie shouted, jumping onto the bed. The other two following her lead.
Caroline laughed as she watched the girls tackle Klaus, making a small dog pile on top of him. "Well you definitely made my morning better."
Klaus playfully glared at her. "You know that's not what I meant by that love."
"Come on. Uncle Kol says it's time for pancakes." Hope giggled.
"With extra chocolate chips." Josie added, almost as if it was a crime that she forgot to mention that part of their bargain with they're uncle.
"Come on. We only have ten minutes before we don't get extra chocolate chips anymore." Lizzie whined. Tugging at Klaus arms.
"We can't have that, now can we." Klaus said, relenting to his tiny princess. Before getting up and leading the girls into the bathroom so they could brush their teeth's with the extra tooth brushes he kept on hand just for the occasion. Well Caroline went and picked out they're outfits for the day.
*****
Hayley listened in on the family in jealousy. She hated how cozy Hope was with Caroline's daughters.
Her expression only worsened when she saw Hope's hand in Caroline's as the little girl led the vampire into the kitchen, with Klaus and the twins right behind her.
"We brought daddy down. Now don't be stingy with the chocolate chips." Lizzie ordered, pointing a finger at Kol.
The original chuckled, "I won't. I won't." he reassures her.
Elijah was surprised by how the tiny blond had just talked to his brother. Did Niklaus really have two other children with Mis. Forbes?
"I'm confused. You have two other daughters?" Freya asked, voicing her and her brother's question.
"They aren't his daughters." Hayley rolls her eyes, but quickly flinches at Klaus' protective growl. Her back automatically slumping, her head lowering in front of the alpha.
"They aren't biologically his." Caroline corrects, placing a hand gently on Klaus biceps to calm him down. "But he's been their father figure since the day they were born."
"I don't get it. How can a vampire have children?" Freya asks.
"Magic." Caroline answers. "The Gemini coven used a spell to implant them into me. Their biological mother died in a tragic accident." She shot quickly to make sure the girls weren't paying attention before continuing. "And they're biological father chose to hunt vampire's rather than raise them. So Klaus stepped in."
Hayley scowled, "So what. I gave birth to the one and only tribrid." she bragged loudly.
Caroline glared at her, not at all liking how she was referring to a child as a trophy. But before she could say anything, a little voice spoke up.
"So what?" Hope repeated Hayley's question, surprising not just the werewolf, but everyone. "You may have given birth to me. But Caroline is my mother." She said proudly.
Hayley's expression soured, well Caroline couldn't help but smile.
Elijah looked like wanted to say something in Hayley's defense, but he felt Niklaus glare on him, and stayed quiet.
"We still have the problem about the wolves." Freya reminded everyone, quickly wanting to change the topic. "They are only continuing to grow more and more aggressive, and Hayley still can't control them." she said, glaring at the so-called 'Queen' of the wolves.
Hayley turned away, refusing to admit her weakness. She was the one who pissed a witch off, and then the witch and her coven cursed the wolves to start acting more and more like animals.
Hayley couldn't control them. She was even only made queen because of Klaus. And the wolves only listened to Jackson - who was currently under the curse, and Klaus - who honestly really didn't care much about them.
"Oh yeah. I got the Sinclair family's grimoire." Caroline said, leaning into Klaus, who wrapped an arm around her. "That was one of the reasons we came here."
Klaus looked down at her, "How did you manage that?"
"Well I remember you mentioning your problem last week, and I also know that one of the Sinclair family's warlocks attends our schools. So I just asked nicely. The women had calmed down a lot since then. So she agreed quite easily. So as long as Hayley can keep her mouth shut, and I return the grimoire by the next full moon. We won't have a problem. Bonnie can undo the spell whenever she likes." she explained.
Klaus looked down at her, amazed. Before quickly kissing her on the lips, completely ignoring the fake gag sound Kol made. "You are magnificent. Have I ever told you that?"
"You've said it." Caroline smiled. "A couple hundred times. But hearing it a thousand more never hurts."
Klaus smiled, attacking her face with a flurry of kisses. "Well it's true. You are magnificent."
*****
I'll admit. I do find Hope quite annoying. But if she's willing to jump onto the Klaroline boat, well I won't deny her passage. Especially if she's trying to run away from Hayley.
What do you guys think? I tried to make it as sweet as I possibly could. Well throwing in the maximum amount of Hayley bashing I could, without having to cut out other aspects of the plot I wanted.
Anyways,
KLAROLINE FOR LIFE BECAUSE I WILL GO DOWN WITH THIS SHIP!

sorry if i'm nosy but i live for drama and the quarantine ain't helping lmao so do you have any more wild anecdotes from the kc/tvd fandom besides the ones you told a while ago?
Oh there’s definitely more.
There was the muffin incident. Which, sounds ridiculous, and I assure you it both is and isn’t. But basically, one of my dearest friends in the world, Jenn, @jonsnowbitch, decided one day she was going to conduct an experiment, if you will. And this experiment entailed sitting through an entire episode of TO and in that specific episode, replacing Camille’s presence with an inanimate object, and determine whether or not the story remains the same. Spoiler alert, it does. And the object Jenn chose was a muffin. Which didn’t sit well with some CK stans, who missed the entire point of Jenn’s post, and/or chose to ignore it. You can read it here. It’s the reason we have these amazing gems;
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Uhhh there was a point where we had confirmation Carina was just hangin around on the blogs. She’d done an interview where she’d said her two most visited sites were these two blogs who hated TO, me and Hillary were like well that could not more obviously be us. Then like a year or so later, someone had sent me a screenshot of a tweet of hers, because I’m blocked by her on twitter, where she said she was just scrolling on a blog and came across a post that said ‘carina get off my blog’ which was something I’d written like the day before, lmfsksks.
Uh let’s see, SOME WRITER LEFT TO, idr who exactly it was, Charlie something, I wanna say. He’d officially departed as a TO writer and he’d posted a picture of his goodbye letter on twitter, and he ended it with, ‘and yes, I love Klaroline too’ the kill bill sirens were real. We were like wtfwtfwtf. The fact that he didn’t say that till he was out the door, plus the way it was written. We’d had this theory that there was a Klaroline gag order, and that all but confirmed it for us.
Uh the last week or so of TVD’s series finale filming was pretty wild. 10/10 do NOT recommend, that was horrendous, no one knew wtf was going on. For some god-awful reason, this new girl popped up during S8 of TVD with information. But she had about a 60% success rate, which caused heaps of confusion in my inbox and on twitter. Every damn day was something whacked. She had this unprecedented access to sides, which are usually audition script pages, or misleading one’s. Like she’d posted a script page of I wanna say Matt or Alaric idr in a hospital bed scene, and it wound up being Stefan. It was just chaos.
The day they leaked the board in the writer’s room during TO S5, spoiling that Hayley died mid-way through the final season. My running gag used to be that there was something in the water over there. The amount of times they themselves spoiled shit. Leah spoiled Camille’s vampire arc by posting a bts where she was very clearly wearing a lapis lazuli ring, some guy in S4 spoiled his character’s death, I mean the list goes on.
Narducci had given some interview once about how ‘tHIS UPCOMING EPISODE HAS THE MOST CHILLING ENDING WE’VE EVER DONE’ and I was like oh well I gotta see this, so I watch the entire episode just for the purpose of whatever this ending was, and it was just Aurora telling Klaus how she’d got the one-up on her brother that day and to come back to bed. I sat there for like five minutes going ‘....what’ because I couldn’t believe that was all it was. They had a notorious habit of overhyping things. Like who’s death was it in S2, I think? I honestly can’t even remember, that’s how whack it was. BUT THEY WAY THEY HYPED IT UP, LMFSKSK. Those weeks leading up to it, they had us convinced it was like Marcel or someone who was kicking the bucket. And then it was...no one.
Which is why when spoiler anon said ‘in less than half a season they kill x, y, and z’ I didn’t believe them. Lemme think, the invasion of the sterobots. SC was up against CS in the finale of a poll, and there is absolutely zero way that fandom had the numbers to beat CS. Then one of their own went and said ‘we’ve been using bots’ and the rest is history. We were up against DE in a poll on EW. I don’t remember if it was the phone call or the letter though. But point is, they were gaining on us, while also competing in another poll on the same site and someone came to my inbox and snitched. Said she was in a gc and they were discussing how to overtake the poll. We lived some Wild times, ya’ll.

The Mikaelson family 😒. Spoiled Anglo Saxons who have committed countless atrocities but nobody dare hold a grudge or face their self righteous wrath. They literally owned a plantation and treat Marcel (black characters in general) horribly but I'm supposed to? They slaughter and pillage, exploit and manipulate but only their enemies are wrong for the same thing. The Originals aren't even compelling enough to warrant a spinoff, they were unkillable so where's the suspense?
Mikaelson family really was some borderline incestuous, extremely toxic shit. The way Klaus meddled in Rebekah's love life and was especially controlling of her. Throw the whole family away, tbh. They never learn or grow. They act like spoiled brats. Were the Mikaelsons black or brown, they'd have perished much much earlier. Davina was right calling Elijah no better than his siblings. Freya? She was the same. Being shitty runs in the family, I suppose.
____________________________________________________
When I first heard back in the day that they were going to do a spinoff show just about the Originals, I remember asking myself, "How?"
By that point in time, the family was whittled down to three remaining memebers. Mikael and Esther were both dead, as was Henrik, Finn and then most recently, Kol. Of course, by that time as well, the eighth sibling that "died of the plague" was assumed dead as well, long before we knew about Freya. A family of nine was now just three and we're supposed to base an entire show around that, especially when those three can't even stand one another?
Of course, then I watched the backdoor pilot and was even more confused. We were really going with the "Twilight" plot of Klaus' one-night-stand getting pregnant with a magical, miracle baby? And to have that baby mama be Hayley after what she had done to Tyler? But I stuck around because I was intrigued by this character Marcel and the politics of the witches in New Orleans. By that point in time we hadn't seen any semblance of a witch community so it was an interesting concept.
But then as the show kept going on and on, retconning everything we learned about them on TVD, I was getting more and more aggravated.
Stefan and Damon hadn't even heard of the Originals but somehow they very publically "founded" and ran New Orleans for over two hundred years?
And Michael never heard of them until the 20th century?
Elijah talks about Klaus burying his family at sea, only to be revealed to be the one who most often helped dagger his siblings?
Plus, how do you maintain a show with three potentially unkillable leads? Aside from the White Oak Stake, which was out of play for over half the season, there is no way to kill these characters, meaning there are no real stakes involved. I was much more invested in Marcel and Davina and the witch community, and the werewolves when they came along.
That was probably the biggest missed opportunity of the show. Plec and Narducci went on and on about how the theme of this show was Family, but what they meant to say was "blood family". If you weren't related to the Mikaelsons by blood, you were worthless. I mean, take Marcel. Here's a guy who came from nothing, was rescued and raised by Klaus (insert white savoir trope here) and became the leader of the entire vampire community of the city. Less than a century after Klaus and his family were run out of town, he managed to rebuild and lead his community, only for Klaus to stomp back in like an overgrown child and demand that Marcel give back the toys he threw away? Klaus ran, tail tucked between his legs, from New Orleans and never looked back but then has the audacity to be pissed off that Marcel did what he couldn't?
And that's not even getting into Elijah's two-faced hypocrisy, acting the nobleman while being more savage than any of his siblings. Remember when he mocked Lucien and Tristan and Aurora for the pain that he put them through? When he killed Marcel on the off chance he might become a threat, thus leading to the actual threat? When he murdered four teenage girls to restart the Harvest because it was beneficial to his family at that time? Good times, right?
And let's just, for a second, rewind to the issue of Marcel. Here was a character that was supposedly "part of the family", which we know was bullshit from the beginning because he wasn't called Marcel Mikaelson, no, he was Marcel Gerard. They treated him more like a pet than a member of their family and I shouldn't have to go into how gross that is, given the racial issues, especially in the South. And then we had the whole prophecy of the Beast. The moment that Elijah thought he might be a potential threat to this "family" that is more often at each other's throats than getting along, he murdered someone who was supposed to be "like a son" to Klaus. Who he, himself, purportedly loved as family. Like I said, if you weren't a blood relative, you were nothing. Even Hayley was only tolerated because she was the oven in which their Bun cooked.
Side Note: as much as I hated what Elijah did to Marcel, that whole scene leading up to it was my favorite in the entire history of the show. Since season three of TVD, so for five years, across two shows, I was waiting for someone to call the Mikaelsons out on their bullshif and I was so glad that it was Marcel. After everything that family put him through, he deserved to yell at them, to call out their "Always and Forever" crap for the all-purpose excuse they used it as.
But it wasn't just Marcel, Hayley was treated horribly, despite the fact that she was the mother to "their salvation". The fandom in particular treated her horribly, which in turn led the narrative to treat her horribly to appease the fandom, and on and on the cycle went. I had my issues with Hayley, no doubt, but her and Jackson worked really well together, and they both cared about the werewolves so it was a nice storyline. But then Klaus had them all cursed because how dare they try to take away his (not their, HIS) daughter from him to keep her safe from Dahlia. How dare she!
The problem with this show was that we had more than just the Mikaelson Family. We had an excellent found family in Marcel and Davina, and then Josh and Cami and even Vincent. It was right there, but never acknowledged and that is infuriating.
Speaking of Davina, let's get into their treatment of her. The Mikaelsons were notorious for how they treated Davina, as a tool to be used and then tossed aside when no longer useful. The number of times that Klaus attacked this poor girl is outrageous. And for her to die the way she did, sacrificed so that the Mikaelsons could use her to stop an enemy that they created was just disgusting. Especially come the next season when they continued to act like what they had done was totally okay but never actually apologized for it. The words "I'm sorry" never left Elijah's or Freya'a lips.
That was the most astounding thing to me, that they Mikaelsons continuously treated people like literal trash and then were the pikachu meme whenever they turned against them. They constantly played the victim card to their own victims and that is increasingly disturbing, especially given how many people ate that shit up.
And we had, as you said, Klaus' continuous interference into Rebekah's love life, which came off way more as jealousy than brotherly concern (combined with his weird abandonment issues). But that's okay, he got to live out that incestuous fantasy with Aurora, who was so thinly veiled to be another version of Rebekah that it's not even funny.
At the end of the day, I think that's why I loved the Trinity so much. Lucien, Aurora and Tristan were the versions of Klaus, Rebekah and Elijah that I never got. They were the versions of those three that got to be unapologetically villains without the sib story.
I gotta say, though, it was THE ORIGINALS, that finally got me to swear off of The CW. None of the shows I've ever watched on that network were good, especially looking back on them and realizing how fucked up they really were.
