I absolutely NEED a one shot where klaus like always gets a hard 0n when Yn around or he thinks of her
His family teases him and Yn doesn’t have clue about his crush on her

Helpless
Klaus couldn't help the way his body reacted to her. It wasn't his fault that she was always so perfect.
In fact, Klaus blamed Rebekah.
She had been the one to befriend Y/N, they met at Mystical Falls High School when Rebekah tried out for the cheerleaders. Caroline had been salty about it but Y/N was happy to invite new people in.
Rebekah took a liking to her in an instant and ended up inviting her round.
That's how Klaus met her. Finding an unknown girl stood in his kitchen in only a tiny little skort and what could barely be called a top. Y/N only smiled at him and introduced herself as Rebekah's friend.
The idea of his younger sister making a friend so easily would have amused him but his thoughts had quickly ran away from him as he took her in. His viewing was cut short when Rebekah shoved him out the way.
"Sorry Y/N, that's Nik." She mumbled as she opened the cupboard to look for something for Y/N to eat. "Damn. We'll have to order something, come on." She shrugged and grabbed Y/N's hand, pulling her back upstairs.
Y/N was over often and Klaus had become accustomed to seeing her in her cheer outfit but that didn't mean he didn't feel anything.
Rebekah had only noticed it when she saw him pull a pillow over his lap part way through a movie. She knew that Klaus had a little crush on Y/N, that wasn't hard to realise with how often he looked at her and how easily his lips upturned in her presence but realising the extent made her smirk.
Rebekah would start 'lending' clothes to Y/N the day after a sleepover, having her dress in tight little shorts and tube tops. Convincing her that she didn't need to wear a bra round the house.
Klaus was almost drooling.
His fingers dug into the couch when she sat beside him after Rebekah had spread herself out across the other sofa. Klaus was too focused on not staring at Y/N's nipples to notice Rebekah's obvious game play.
When it had gotten late and Y/N started getting tired but the film wasn't finished Rebekah decided to push it. "You can always lay down. Nik doesn't mind, he even has a pillow. Just rest on his lap." Her words sounded to passive and innocent that Y/N just glanced to Klaus who, no matter how badly he knew he should've said no, nodded his head and adjusted the pillow.
Before he knew it his fingers were stroking her hair, his hips desperately holding back when she made small sounds on contempt.
Once she was asleep he couldn't help but touch her face, trace each feature. Bekah had gone to the bathroom, leaving him alone with her and his thoughts. He couldn't help but stroke her bottom lip with his thumb. As soon as he heard the door shut his hands were pulled away and he was sat back against the cushions but Rebekah knew what he wanted.
She started having lollipops on hand, always having one to give to Y/N. Klaus was losing it.
Once or twice she'd forgotten to finish her lolly, leaving it somewhere by accident. Klaus would end up licking her taste fresh from it, his eyes closing as he sucked her flavour down.
He could just about restrain himself from acting on his feelings.
Until all his other siblings were woken and also caught onto the situation. Kol would shamelessly flirt with Y/N, purposefully trying to make Klaus flip out. Even Elijah had picked up on it. He'd clear his throat and glance Klaus down, reminding his brother to cover his arousal with an amused smile on his face when Niklaus would go a beat red and pull a pillow over himself again. Kol had started calling it his 'problem pillow'.
Rebekah was subtle but Kol? Brutal.
"Don't tell me Nik's cum on his pillow again!" He'd call loud enough that it made Klaus shoot up out of his seat in panic that Y/N had heard but not quite loud enough that it would travel up the stairs to where Y/N actually was.
"Someone's in a sticky situation-" He'd jest before a book was lobbed at his head.
"You know Y/N if you're feeling stressed, I'm positive Nik would pound it out of you." He'd grin but Y/N didn't get it; thank god.
Klaus would shove Kol out the room, out the house sometimes and storm up the stairs.
Was it embarrassing? Of course. Was it hilarious for the others? Obviously.
Once Y/N figured it out and joined in on the teasing it was too much to bare.

I Will Always Protect You-Alpha!Klaus M.
This is a High School, All Human AU
Y/n has been on suppressants all her life and isn’t interested in finding her Alpha. When she accidentally ends up without them and discovers who her Alpha is almost immediately, will she be able to deal with it? Can Klaus be the Alpha she needs? Can he help her through her trauma and convince her to let him in? After all of her trauma thanks to Alphas all her life she is scared to give him a chance but Klaus is determined to be a better Alpha than his father was and he is determined to never let anything hurt his Omega ever again.
Warning: Mentions of past SA, mentions of being in a psychiatric facility, wrong medications taken, Slight Daddy kink
Most Omegas would tell you that there’s a lot of things that suck about being an Omega, however in Y/n’s opinion the absolute worst thing, was the side-effects of the suppressants. For her the cramps were the worst, though she also got horrible migraines during the time that would be her heat and the one thing that was a universal symptom? They effect your sense of smell.
The suppressants keep your heat away and suppress your scent so that people assume you are a Beta. It makes it impossible for an Alpha to find their Omega, but they also make it impossible for an Omega to find their Alpha. Eventually every Omega needed to gamble with stopping the medication and finding their Alpha, though Y/n didn’t have any current plans of doing that.
In her experience all Alphas were monsters. Her father hadn’t been her mothers mate, he had been an asshole that decided to take what he wanted and her mother ended up pregnant. It had ruined her mother. She ended up in and out of psych wards while her parents raised Y/n and to this day she is in a psychiatric facility and Y/n’s grandparents take care of her. They were pretty hands off for the most part, living their own retired lives and while she was happy for them she got lonely a lot.
Secretly she did dream of what it could be like. Meeting her Alpha and him being a nice guy, the kind of Alpha that worships his Omega, is a possessive, protective, loving man that never wants her out of his sight. But of course that’s not how life works, and that’s not how most Alphas are in her experience. Alphas are assholes, they’re cocky bullies that think they’re stronger and better than everyone else-they’re always jocks, and they live for having cute Omegas throw themselves at them.
That wouldn’t be her. She would never be the Omega that stops taking her suppressants. Well…at least not on purpose she wouldn’t.
Y/n didn’t notice anything wrong until 3rd period. She was feeling surprisingly well which was strange, usually after taking her medication she didn’t start feeling better from the cramps and achyness until after lunch but today she was doing great. In retrospect that should have been a sign.
After 3rd period she noticed that everyone in the hallway was staring at her, some of them in surprise and some of them clearly trying to flirt with her which was disturbing. As she got to her locker she felt her phone vibrating in her pocket and pulled it out to see that it was her grandma calling which was strange. She never called during school, in fact she was dead set against phone use in school where you should be learning and so she answered it, worry settling in her stomach.
‘Hello? Gram? Is everything alright?’ She asked, shoving her books into her bag and pausing, waiting to see if she needed to grab her bag and leave for some emergency.
‘Honey, are you okay? How are you feeling?!’ She asked, clearly worried and that just confused Y/n even more.
‘Yeah, actually I feel great. What’s going on?’
‘Well, your grandfather seems to have accidentally switched the medications last night. He poured the new bottle of Tylenol into your suppressant bottle on the counter and poured your new suppressants into his Tylenol bottle. You feel great because you took Tylenol this morning and not your suppressants. Your grandfather however did take one of them and he is in the ER right now. He’s okay!’ She rushed the last part out before Y/n started worrying. ‘He’s just having some issues with a migraine and some severe hormone spikes…they are a bit worried about his blood pressure but they said it’s most likely fine. He’s getting some medications in an IV, can you get yourself home? I can come and get you if-‘
‘No! No, stay with him. I’m coming to the hospital, I’ll be there as soon as I can in an Uber. I’ll see you soon.’ She sighed, hanging up and rushing to grab the books she would need, shoving them into her backpack and running to the stairs.
She had just gotten down to the ground floor when she nearly ran directly into Marcel. The football team had a game tonight so the whole team got to wear their jerseys and they always spent those days being the biggest assholes possible though Y/n had absolutely no time for it today.
‘Woah! Y/n, you smell amazing! I never would have guessed!’ He smirked, stepping closer as 6 of his team mates looked her over and took in her scent curiously. ‘Definitely wouldn’t have pegged you for the type to come to school like this.’ She rolled her eyes, trying to take a step around him but he stepped in front of her quickly. ‘You know, we have a game tonight. What do you say you come and wear my jacket, I would love to have you as my sweet Omega cheerleader tonight.’
‘No thank you, excuse me. I’m leaving-‘ she finally got around him only for Lucien to grab ahold of her waist and pull her close with a cocky smile. The feel of his hand on her made her excited, her body wanting to get closer against her will.
‘It’s alright, no one is willing to cheer for his losing ass. He’s right though, you would be the cutest little cheerleader. I’ll even pick you up, why don’t you give me your number and-‘
‘I’m sorry, I really have to go.’ As she turned this time it was Damon in her face with that bitchy smirk she had seen a million times, Trevor was behind him and the Alpha smells seemed to hit her all at once, her head spinning as she backed away, hitting a wall and whining. ‘Please stop…’ she whimpered, overwhelmed with their scents and surrounded by Alphas that any other day she would hate but today seemed intriguing.
The dizziness overwhelmed her and she slid down the wall onto her butt, trying to clear the foggy feeling in her head. ‘Let us help you. You can come to lunch with us, I’m sure eating something will make you feel better.’ Damon told her, kneeling in front of her and taking her hand.
‘Yeah, just let us help you-‘
‘Get Away From Her!’ A loud growl suddenly roared out and all of the Alphas jumped back and stepped away quickly. She moved to stand up though it didn’t happen, as she nearly tripped over her own feet, looking up to see a pair of beautiful blue eyes in front of her.
Klaus Mikaelson was crouched down in front of her with a worried look on his face and suddenly there was only one scent…only one smell in the whole world that she ever wanted to smell again. Pine trees and a rainy forest on a cloudy day. It smelled fresh and clean, all of the Alpha musk being gone and her head clearing slowly.
‘Are you alright? Come on, let’s get you out of here.’ He took her bag and lifted her back to her feet.
‘Klaus, bro, we didn’t know.’ Marcel mumbled, suddenly quiet as they all were. They knew they had fucked up. Flirting with an Omega was fine, though overwhelming them until they can’t think straight was typically frowned upon. Flirting with the Omega of an Alpha you know, God forbid one you’re friends with, that was a big no-no.
‘Yeah man, we would never-‘
‘Get the fuck away from me.’ He hissed, pulling his jacket from his shoulders and helping Y/n to pull it on.
‘Come on man-‘
‘Marcel, you have that college scout coming to see you play at next weeks game, don’t you? Well if you don’t get everyone out of here right now I will ensure I never pass the ball to you the entire game and I will make sure Enzo and Kai help me after this fucking bullshit!’
The threat, it seemed, was immediately enough as Marcel grabbed Damon and Lucien, shoving them away. ‘Let’s go!’ He shouted at the rest of them, not looking back as they hurried off down the hallway.
‘Are you alright now? Still light headed?’ He worried but she shook her head.
‘I’m okay…thank you.’
‘Of course. I will always protect you…are you leaving?’ He asked, holding up her bag and she nodded, finally seeming to think again.
‘Yes! Fuck! I have to go!’ She realized, making her way towards the doors with Klaus still beside her, his arm holding her waist and keeping her against him, still worried she would fall again.
‘What’s wrong? Are you not happy? I mean, you wanted to find me, right?’ He wondered, now worried that maybe that wasn’t his Omegas intention after all.
‘No! No, my medicine got switched, turns out I took Tylenol today and my grandpa took my suppressants, he’s in the hospital.’
‘Oh my God! Is he okay? Do you need me to take you there?’ Klaus offered, genuinely seeming worried which gave her a happy feeling in her chest but she shook her head.
‘No, I’m um-I’m getting an Uber-‘
‘No. An Uber will take forever and I’m not risking you getting an asshole Alpha driving you around. Come on, my car is this way.’ He pointed, taking her hand and leading her to the Range Rover, opening her door, helping her in and putting her bag in the back before closing her door, running around to his side. ‘What did they say, what’s wrong with him?’ He asked as he drove out of the parking lot and turned towards the hospital.
‘He has a migraine and his hormones are everywhere but my grandma said they’re worried about his blood pressure…I should have noticed! Why didn’t I pay attention, I didn’t even look!’ As she sat in Klaus’ car she finally had a moment to think and it wasn’t helping her at all.
‘It’s not your fault Y/n, it was an accident. He didn’t notice either, they probably looked similar if they got switched in the first place. He’s going to be okay.’ Klaus reached out, taking her hand in his again and lacing their fingers together.
‘Thank you…for everything, I-I don’t know what would have happened if you hadn’t been there.’
‘Enzo or Kai would have done the same thing, you would have been fine. They’re assholes but they wouldn’t hurt you, it’s like a game to them to date the pretty new Omega whenever there’s a new student or someone stops the suppressants. Not all of us are dicks though.’ Y/n immediately thought back to her mother and how she had warned her against Alphas her whole life, how she had terrified her of Alphas when she was a small child and she had been wary ever since. She knew there were good Alphas out there and for the first time in her life she actually found herself hoping that her Alpha would be one of those, because he really seemed to be.
‘I know that…my experiences have just been less than ideal.’ He looked over at her as he stopped at a red light and he could feel her fear in his chest. Klaus hated it immediately.
‘What happened?’ He found himself actually asking, squeezing her hand as she looked at him. ‘I can’t promise you that I will always be perfect, but I can promise that I will never leave you. I’ve been hoping to find you since the day I presented, I promised myself I would be so much better than my asshole father and mother who find their joy in cheating on each other…I want to make you happy…tell me you’ll let me try?’
Y/n could feel his honesty, and she could feel how desperate he was. For the first time in her life she realized that she wanted to trust someone. ‘My father isn’t my mothers Alpha.’ She admitted, Klaus’ face falling as he understood what she meant immediately. ‘She apparently had a breakdown after finding out she was pregnant. My grandparents got custody of me when I was a toddler once they found out we were living in her car…I don’t remember that much, just bits and pieces. She was in and out of different psych wards all the time. She’s in a hospital now, she’s been there for the last 4 years.’ Klaus was horrified. The idea that an Alpha could do that to an Omega, one that’s not theirs, to hurt them just for the fun of it and destroy their lives. He never wanted to let Y/n out of his sight again. ‘I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have told you th-‘
‘No! No, I’m glad you did…I’m so sorry that you had to go through that, that your mother had to…I will never let anyone hurt you Y/n. I will do everything I can to be the Alpha that you need.’ She didn’t say anything back, she just moved to lean over the center console and rest her head on his shoulder. He kissed her head gently, and they sat there in silence for the next 3 minutes until he pulled in at the ER, parking the car quickly and running in with her, stopping in the waiting room before she turned around.
‘I don’t want to go alone…what if he’s…what if he’s not okay?’ She choked, tears finally falling and Klaus stepped forward quickly and pulled her to his chest. He held her as he walked up to the front desk.
‘Hello, we’re here to see a patient here, what’s his name, love?’ Klaus asked and Y/n was both a little surprised and relieved that he didn’t refer to her as “Omega” like many Alphas do in public.
‘Arthur Harrison. He’s my grandfather.’
‘Okay. He’s in room 8, it’s down the hall to the right. I’m sorry sir but it’s only family in the room, you’ll have to wait in the waiting area.’ She said and Klaus tightened his grip on her waist, not wanting to leave her.
‘No, he’s um, he’s my Alpha so he is family.’ Y/n insisted, not waiting for a response before she walked down the hall, pulling him along with his hand tightly in hers. She hesitated outside the room and Klaus moved to peek into the doorway, seeing her grandparents talking quietly before smiling at her and pushing her gently towards the doorway.
‘Oh honey! Thank God you’re here, I was about to call the school when you didn’t answer your phone!’ Her grandmother said, standing up and moving to hug her tightly.
‘Sorry, it’s in my bag and it’s still on silent cause of school…are you okay?’ Y/n asked, looking at her grandfather with tears in her eyes prompting him to sit up, gesturing her to come and hug him which she did. ‘I’m so sorry! I should have looked at the medications closer, I didn’t even-‘
‘None of that! It’s not your fault hun, you didn’t do anything wrong! I’m the one who fucked it up. I’m so sorry, are you alright? Please tell me you got out of school before anything happened?’ He was clearly worried, holding her hands tightly as he waited for an answer, her grandmother back in her chair now looking at her too.
‘I’m okay. There was a few assholes when I was leaving that kind of cornered me-‘
‘What?! I’ll kill them! I swear to God-‘
‘No, it’s okay, I…my Alpha saved me.’ She admitted and they both looked at her, clearly surprised. ‘He drove me here when I told him what happened, he-‘ she looked back to the door, standing up and moving to the door quickly when she didn’t see him, immediately scared that he had left. He was leaning against the wall and clearly waiting for her. ‘What are you doing?’ She laughed, taking his hand and pulling him into the room.
‘I didn’t want to disturb you. Hello, I’m so glad to see that you’re alright sir, she was very worried.’
‘I’m sure. It was very nice of you to bring her here. I’m Arthur.’ The older man greeted him, holding his hand out to shake which Klaus did promptly.
‘I’m Klaus. It’s a pleasure to meet you, sir.’
‘Alright, no more of that “sir” crap, kid. You call me Arthur, I have a feeling we’ll be seeing a lot more of you…if you hurt my little girl I will kill you, you hear?’ He nodded quickly.
‘I understand. I would rather die than hurt her, the thought turns my stomach.’
‘That’s good to know…what happened at the school? She minimizes things, thinks we can’t handle ‘em but I want the truth.’ He insisted, his eyes hard as he waited for him to respond.
‘Grandpa, I told you-‘
‘I’m asking him.’ Klaus looked back at Y/n who looked embarrassed but he couldn’t lie.
‘It was a group of Alphas from the football team. They were just flirting, they do it all the time. Make an Omega flustered, flirt with her and see which one can get her to come to the game wearing his jacket that night. It’s usually harmless, the Omegas at school know what they’re getting into but they overwhelmed her very quickly. I assume it was also the first thing she was really smelling and it was 6 Alphas in her face all at once.’ Her grandfather didn’t look happy with the idea of those boys picking on his granddaughter but there was one thing bothering him more at that moment.
‘Those jackets anything like the one she’s wearing right now?’ He asked, Klaus looking at Y/n and realizing what he was thinking right away.
‘Grandpa!’
‘It’s okay, love. Yes, that’s my football jacket. I’ve never participated in that shit, it’s only 6 of them that find it entertaining. I gave her my jacket after I realized what was going on, I thought it would help if she only smelled me before I got them to leave.’
‘How did you do that? Most Alphas I know don’t get chased off easily.’
Klaus shook his head. ‘Not usually. They realized she was my Omega and they apologized to me, tried to make it seem like no big deal. I just reminded one of them that has a college scout coming to the game next week and that I’m the one who decides if he catches any passes all night and whether he looks amazing or like an idiot. They left pretty quickly after that.’ A moment of silence passed before the old man began laughing. He was laughing so hard it actually concerned them for a moment until he calmed down.
‘Good job son. I like you. You’re welcome in our home whenever you’d like.’
‘Th-Thank you sir-Arthur! I appreciate it. Oh!’ Klaus chuckled as he was hugged by Y/n’s grandmother as soon as he turned around.
‘You’re a good boy. It’s nice to have a good Alpha around our girl…you protect our girl, do you hear me?’ She whispered the last part forcefully with her hands holding his face and he did hear her, loud and clear.
‘With my life ma’am.’ He swore before she pulled away, squeezing his cheeks and making him blush.
‘It is really nice to have a good Alpha.’ Y/n smiled, holding his hand from where she sat on the end of the hospital bed. ‘So when can you get out of here?’
‘Oh, they want to keep me overnight to make sure there’s no more side effects. Bein’ a buncha’ worry warts in my opinion. But you kids should get outta here, no use in you bein’ cooped up in this hospital too!’ He insisted.
‘Are you sure? I’m happy to stay and hang out with you-‘
‘Actually…’ Klaus spoke up, knowing her grandpa doesn’t want her staying here and deciding to just go for it and ask her out. ‘I’ve got a few hours but I have a game tonight and um…well, you’re already wearing my jacket so do you think maybe you’d like to come? I don’t know how much you like football but you can sit with my friends Omegas on the sidelines and I can take you to dinner afterwards…if you’d like to, you don’t have to-‘ Y/n cut him off quickly, standing up and pressing her lips against his.
‘That sounds like fun…are you okay with that? I don’t know how long you’re staying.’ Y/n spoke to her grandma who was grinning like an idiot.
‘I will probably just stay here tonight, you go! Go enjoy the game and have fun! You make sure she gets home alright.’
‘Yes ma’am.’ Klaus turned to Y/n after she hugged them goodbye. ‘If we leave early we can bring them some dinner from somewhere.’ Klaus proposed and Y/n smiled, pecking his lips again quickly, adoring how sweet he was to think about her grandparents in such a way.
‘Would you like some dinner from that diner down the street? I’ll get your favorites, bring you some things you need from home?’ She offered which seemed to bring her grandmother some sense of relief.
‘Please? My glasses and my yarn bag, make sure my needles are in it as well as my Patterson novel from the table please?’
‘Okay, do you need anything?’ She asked her grandpa who nodded.
‘Bring me my book from my table. And make sure you switch the pills back so this doesn’t happen again and so you have your suppressants back.’
‘I will do that. We’ll be back in a few hours with dinner.’ She promised before taking Klaus’ hand and walking out of there and back out to his car.
‘Are you going to start taking them again?’ Klaus asked as she directed him to her house which was only a few streets over from the hospital.
‘Honestly I hadn’t even thought about it…it’s a comfort to know that other Alphas don’t know that I’m an Omega.’ She told him and he understood but he didn’t want her to take them anymore.
‘I would never let anyone hurt you, you know that, right? You’re mine now, my Omega, my little Bunny. I will never let another Alpha anywhere near you! Never!’ He insisted as he parked the car and hopped out to make his way around to her side. ‘No!’ He shouted as she opened her door. ‘Shut it! Shut the door!’ He demanded and she looked confused as she closed the car door just for him to open it. ‘I help you out of the car, it’s my job. Like how I pump the gas, my little Bunny doesn’t pump gas. I would literally rather you leave my car on E and I have to go to the gas station first thing in the morning rather than knowing that you went to a gas station and put gas in the car. Gas stations are dangerous, you will never be in one unless you’re waiting in the passenger seat like a little Princess.’ He swore and she couldn’t help but giggle as he lifted her out now carrying her in his arms to the front door before putting her down and letting her unlock it.
‘I have to get their stuff but I know you are gonna have to get ready at home so we can grab everything here and go back to your house so you can take your time and get ready before we get them dinner. I’ll call in the order so it’ll be ready when we get there.’ Klaus nodded, grabbing the book from what he assumed was her grandfathers table and handing it to her as she packed it into her grandmas bag.
‘Sounds good.’
‘Then I was thinking…maybe, if you wanted…you could pack a bag and stay here after the game tonight? I don’t want to be alone…and I wanna snuggle.’ He looked down at her surprised before smiling excitedly.
‘That sounds like so much fun. I would love to have a sleepover with you.’ He told her, his hands finding her waist and pulling her to his body to kiss him. Y/n lifted her arms and wrapped them around his neck, pulling him closer. His hands slowly moved down from her hips to her butt, squeezing her firm ass and enjoying the moan that he drew from her. Y/n pushed Klaus backwards, dropping into the recliner as his legs hit it, his eyes widening as she climbed onto his lap and straddled him. ‘Y/n, you know don’t have to-‘ she cut him off, kissing him once again, trailing her lips down his jaw to his neck until she found his scent gland and promptly wrapped her lips around it. The growl that came from his throat was so loud she briefly considered if the neighbors had heard it. ‘My God Bunny! Fuck! Spent all your life never thinking you’d have an Alpha, now you’re a needy, horny little slut aren’t you? All mine, my pretty Omega slut!’
‘Yes…yours…’ she mumbled against his neck. ‘Can I?’ She mumbled.
‘Aww, my little Bunny doesn’t want me going out again until I have her mark on me, hmm? I’ve got myself a jealous little mate, haven’t I?’
‘No!’ She hissed as she pulled away, Klaus’ hand snatching the back of her neck, his claws sinking into her flesh and making her whimper as he yanked her back.
‘I don’t like liars Bunny. I don’t care if your jealous, honestly it’s hot. You can be a possessive, jealous, needy little whore all day every day, but don’t you fucking lie about it! Got it?’
‘Yes.’ She continued whimpering.
‘Yes what?’
‘Yes Daddy!’ His grip on her neck eased up as he heard what she had said and her eyes flew open as she realized what she had said. ‘Alpha! Alpha-I’m sorry! I didn’t mean it!’
Klaus’ eyes darken as he looks up at her, his hand snatching her throat tightly and shoving her back, pinning her onto the carpet, his hips pushing as hard into her as he could to keep her legs apart around his waist. She could feel his hard cock pressed against his jeans and she whines, desperate to see if it’s as big as it feels. ‘I’m going to let that lie go because I know you’re embarrassed but that’s the only time, do you understand?’ He asked and she nodded promptly. ‘No more embarrassment, okay? We will enjoy each others kinks together. If you want to call me Daddy, then I will be Daddy for my precious little Bunny. Daddy already wants to take care of you so it’s perfect…say it.’
‘Daddy…’ she muttered out a whisper.
‘Oh come on Bunny, you can do better than that. I’m not letting you go to the game, or to my house with my siblings around without my mark on you, so Daddy is gonna sink my fangs into this perfect little neck of yours…what do you think about that?’
‘Yes! Yes, please Daddy?! Please mark me?! Want everyone to know that I’m yours…you want it too?’ she questioned, blushing cheeks making Klaus smile. He loved it when she was a blushy little thing.
‘Damn right I do. I’m not going to that game unless I have your mark on my neck too…Perfect little girl for her Alpha. Waited for me like a good girl all these years…my good girl.’ As Klaus leaned back down she bore her throat to him, giving him a victorious feeling as the only Alpha his Omega will ever bare her throat for. He knows that for Y/n this is something very special and she already knows that she wants him. ‘I’m the luckiest Alpha in the world.’ He mumbled before sinking his fangs into her perfect, soft skin right over her scent gland. He sunk his teeth as deeply as he could and though he hated her pain filled whimper, he knew he would cherish this moment forever. After another moment he pulled his fangs back, grabbing onto her thighs that were around his waist and sitting up on his knees with her on top of him. He held her up, hands massaging her ass and producing a filthy moan before she leaned close and dug her sharp little fangs into his scent gland making him grunt. ‘Sharp little fuckin’ fangs, precious Bunny…’ he hissed, allowing her to sit like that for as long as she wanted which was about 5 minutes.
When marking their mate they inject venom into the bite so that the mark never fully heals, also injecting their scent that will linger for several days to a week. Alphas venom is strong smelling and so they don’t have to inject very much into the bite, Betas are the same, Omegas however are not. Their venom has their scent but it is slight and therefore they need to inject a larger amount of venom until their mate carries their scent. Klaus would have happily sat there for an hour if that’s what his Omega needed to mark him properly.
She eventually began taking her nails through his hair and scratching his scalp roughly. It was fucking delicious and he couldn’t keep his moans in if he tried (which he didn’t). ‘So good Omega, make your Alpha feel so good.’ He rumbled, her fangs receding from his flesh before she pressed her lips to his roughly.
‘My Alpha is so good to me, so patient. Letting me mark you up so good. Thank you Alpha.’ She praised and he pecked her lips once more before lifting her up and setting her onto the recliner. ‘Wait, I should get-‘
‘You sit down and let Alpha take care of you.’ He told her before standing up straight and falling forward as his head spun. Y/n was quick, catching him and easing him down onto the chair which she thanked God was there or she definitely would have dropped him. She needed to inject him with much more venom than he did her and dizziness is often a side effect for several minutes at least.
‘Now you sit and let me pamper you.’ She giggled, hopping up and making her way to the kitchen where she got him a juice box and 2 of her grandmothers freshly baked cookies. ‘Drink Daddy, it’ll make you feel better.’ He groaned, pulling her to his side and feeding her a bite of the cookie before eating it himself and moaning at the wonderful taste. ‘Yeah, my grandma can bake! Don’t worry, marking is the only time I will insist on babying you, every other moment is all yours.’ She giggled, kissing his nose sweetly before hopping up. ‘You eat those, I’m gonna get my grandpa some clean clothes and change for the game. I’ll be right back. Don’t get up until the dizziness is gone. You could hurt yourself and then you won’t be playing in any game.’
He rolled his eyes but nodded none the less. ‘Okay Bunny, I’ll wait right here.’ And he did just that. She was upstairs for about 20 minutes before coming back down in a pair of tight red jeans and a tight long sleeved black top that she had cutely painted his number on. ‘Are you ready to go?’
‘Are you?’ She asked, giggling before he stood and took the bag from her, making to move to his car.
‘Let’s go Omega!’ With that he led her out of the house and to his car where he took her to his home instead, taking his time to get ready for his game.
Klaus held his Omegas hand tightly in the crowd of people, not willing to lose her here as they walked onto the field and down the side to where the team sat on the sidelines.
‘Are you sure I should be on the field? I don’t want to cause a problem or-‘
‘You wont, I promise. You are going to stay with Enzo and Kai’s Omegas beside the team. Coach lets them stay there so they don’t have to be alone in the bleachers. I don’t want you up there.’ He told her, walking passed his team mates and over to a bench with 2 other girls and 2 players in their uniforms.
‘Hey Klaus! You made it, we were worried! Heard what happened earlier, everything okay?’ One of the guys asked, everyone now paying attention as Klaus greeted the 2 team mates with some kind of handshake.
‘Yeah, all good. I don’t want them anywhere near her, but we’re okay. It’s alright if she joins you girls, right?’ He asked and the Omegas both smiled excitedly.
‘Of course! We’re always happy to have another friend to keep warm with on the bench.’ One of them joked, both laughing though Y/n could see they were bundled up as it got colder, the sun setting quickly now.
‘I didn’t even consider that. Oh fuck, it’s gonna be cold!’ She laughed though she was concerned as Klaus kissed the side of her head.
‘Don’t worry love, I came prepared.’ He spoke, opening his bag as the girls sat on the bench. ‘This is Bonnie and Vicky and their Alphas, Enzo and Kai. They’re my best friends, you’ll see them a lot.’
‘It’s nice to meet you. Glad there’s some guys on the team that aren’t complete assholes. It’s great to meet some mated Omegas too, most of them are uh…’
‘Sluts. The word you’re looking for is sluts.’ Vicky laughed, pointing down the fence to see several girls practically naked and flirting with Marcel and Lucien hard.
‘I was trying to be nicer but yeah, that’s the word.’ She chuckled before Vicky and Bonnie led her to the bench.
‘We have some blankets here that you can share, we always snuggle up here while they play. You’re gonna be here from now on, right?’ Bonnie asked and Y/n looked back to see Klaus looking up with a hopeful face making her smile.
‘As long as everything is cool with my grandparents then yeah, and I’m sure they won’t mind me coming to the games.’ Klaus leaned down to where she sat with the girls now, kissing her cheek before pulling a thick blanket from his bag and handing it to her.
‘This will keep you plenty warm, I promise. If anyone gives you any trouble you go to the Coach, he won’t let anyone bother you girls. Wish me luck.’
‘Not that you need it but good luck. You’re gonna do great Daddy.’ She whispered the last bit in his ear before kissing him. ‘Be careful.’
‘Always.’ He assured her before running back to his team.
‘It’s nice to see Klaus have someone. His parents have never come to any of his games since he started playing in Sophomore year. His brother has come a few times with Rebekah but he’s in college now.’
‘Yeah, Elijah is crazy busy with school. His parents are assholes though, fuck them. I’ll be here every game from now on.’ She assured them, pulling the blanket up and around herself as the temperature dropped.
‘That’s what we like to hear! He’s such a sweetheart, he deserves an Omega all his own.’ She agreed, knowing that her Alpha was good and deserved to be happy.
As the night went on the girls wrapped the blankets around each other, huddling up to keep warm. ‘Having another person makes all the difference with the cold.’
‘I can tell, I’m going to keep a pillow in Klaus’ car to sit on, this bench is cold as fuck on my ass.’ Y/n joked, Bonnie and Vicky giggling but also both agreeing.
By the end of the night they had won and Y/n knew that she had made her Alpha blush more than once with her cheering for him. She promised herself to be here from now on as he clearly loved having someone there, promising to bring her grandparents one day too. They would be happy to cheer for him and her grandfather would love to see high school football.
‘Did you have a good time at least?’ He asked as they turned into her driveway after getting a late dinner, ready to go in and relax after the long day they’d had.
‘It was fun, yeah! I’ll be more prepared next week.’ He looked over at her, his eyes excited with the idea that she will come to his games from now on.
‘I’m happy to hear that. I loved having you there with me, though your cheering was very loud.’
‘Oh, you loved it.’ She teased, allowing him the time to get out and walk around to her door to lift her out.
‘I really did.’ He smiled, carrying his bag with them into the house and locking the door behind them as Y/n texted her grandma to tell her she was home safely. ‘I’m gonna make sure the back door is locked.’ He told her as she began climbing the stairs.
‘It is! It’s always locked Klaus, we-okay. Whatever helps you sleep.’ She rolled her eyes but appreciated his double checking as she walked up the stairs and into her bedroom. She fixed her nest quickly, not wanting it to look too messy before grabbing her pajamas and changing quickly into the shorts and tank top. When Klaus walked up the stairs she was waiting in her nest and he couldn’t help but smile as he shut the door, taking in the scent of her and himself, noticing his jacket was hanging at the end of the bed.
‘I’ve never been in a nest before…it looks really comfy.’ He told her, sliding off his shoes and stripping his clothes down to his boxers before crawling in.
‘Better not have. No other nest you should ever be in.’ She grumbled, nuzzling close to him and pressing her lips to his jaw teasingly.
‘Never want anyone else.’ He swore, taking hold of her hips and pulling her close.
That is how the couple spent every night from then on. Klaus practically moved in with his Omega to get away from his horrible parents, happy to get to sleep in a comfortable nest every single night and to have family who supports him more than just his brother and sister.
They were together until they left for college together, Klaus meeting Y/n’s mother before they left and making as good an impression as he could on the traumatized woman. He proposed to Y/n that very night and they got married during their second year of college. Klaus never had to worry about his Omega second guessing their relationship again after that, she was all his and he would be all hers for the rest of their eternity together.

in the afterglow | k.m
⎯⎯“You’re remarkable,” he murmurs, voice hushed as if the moment is too sacred to disturb. He shifts slightly, just enough to press a lingering kiss to your bare shoulder. “Every bit of you.”
warnings: aftercare, a bit suggestive
The room is quiet, save for the slow, rhythmic rise and fall of your breaths. The world outside has faded, reduced to the flickering candlelight, the hush of fabric shifting against skin, the warmth of him beside you. Everything is soft now—your limbs tangled together beneath the sheets, the scent of him lingering on your skin, the distant hum of the night beyond the window.
Klaus lies on his side, one arm draped loosely over your waist, fingers tracing idle patterns against your back. It’s lazy, unhurried, as though he has all the time in the world to memorize every inch of you. His touch isn’t meant to tease—it’s reverent, a silent worship that speaks more than words ever could. Every now and then, his fingers slip higher, trailing over the delicate curve of your shoulder, the slope of your spine, as if to remind himself you are real.
“You’re remarkable,” he murmurs, voice hushed as if the moment is too sacred to disturb. He shifts slightly, just enough to press a lingering kiss to your bare shoulder. “Every bit of you.”
Your heart stirs at his words, a warmth blossoming in your chest that has nothing to do with the heat of his body against yours. You don’t know what to say, don’t know how to hold the weight of such a confession, so you press closer, seeking comfort in his presence.
He chuckles softly, feeling your hesitation, and tilts your chin up so you meet his gaze. His eyes are soft, lighter somehow in the dim glow, filled with something so utterly unguarded that it steals your breath. “You don’t have to say anything, love. Just let me look at you.”
A slow smile tugs at his lips as his fingers graze over your cheek, tracing the delicate shape of you like an artist memorizing his muse. He shakes his head slightly, almost in disbelief. “I never knew something so pure could belong to me.”
You swallow, overwhelmed by the tenderness in his voice. “I belong to myself,” you whisper, though there’s no real challenge in the words.
Klaus hums in agreement, his thumb brushing against your lower lip. “That you do,” he concedes. “And yet, selfish as I am, I’ll spend an eternity proving to you that I’m worthy of sharing even a fraction of what you are.”
His words wrap around you, heavy with meaning, with promises unspoken. And in that moment, with his arms encircling you, the steady thrum of his heartbeat beneath your palm, you believe him.
He holds you closer, pulling the blankets up to shield you both from the lingering chill of the night. The bed is warm, the sheets twisted between your bodies as if even they refuse to separate you. His lips find your forehead, pressing a kiss there, slow and lingering.
“You must be tired,” he murmurs, brushing stray strands of hair from your face. “Sleep, sweetheart.”
You close your eyes, but sleep does not come immediately. You feel the way his hand rubs slow, soothing circles against your back, how he breathes you in like you are something precious, something fragile. You wonder if he is afraid—if, in all his centuries, he has ever held something so gently, with so much care.
Minutes stretch into something timeless. You listen to the steady rhythm of his breath, feel the weight of his presence grounding you, keeping you safe. And just before sleep pulls you under, you hear him whisper, voice softer than the night itself:
“You are the most beautiful thing I have ever touched.”

100 YEARS OF WISHES
Pairing: Kol Mikaelson x Fem!Reader

Summary: You and Kol celebrate your 100th birthday.
Warnings: Lots of fluff, Bestie!Rebekah, Bad sex jokes, Inconsistencies in the tense it’s written it (big shock I know)
Notes: Oh my Gosh??? Thank you so much for 100 followers!! I never thought I could get this far at all!! Thank you for all the support my loves!!
So, this was meant to be posted about two weeks ago… but life happens and I’ve been a bit busy (and lazy) and someone got me hooked on a new show… anyways, thank you all again!! Enjoy some Kol!
Word Count: 1.2k
———————
You glance at your phone when it buzzes, a text from Rebekah lighting up the screen, ‘I need your help with a fashion emergency as soon as possible.’ You sigh, shoving your phone back into your pocket and looking back at Kol who is looking at you expectantly.
“It’s not a big deal…” you shrug.
“Not a big deal?!” Kol echoes, shocked, “It’s not everyday you turn a hundred and twenty, love.”
You roll your eyes, “Kol, I haven’t celebrated my birthday since I was a little kid… I think the last ‘party’ I had was before I turned… besides my one hundred and twenty years of life are nothing compared to your thousands…”
“Nonsense,” he scoffs, “We will celebrate, it’s been a hundred and twenty years since you were born and blessed the world with your presence.”
You place your hands on your hips, “How did you even find out?”
“I have my ways,” he grins.
“Klaus,” you sigh, “Can’t tell him anything, you’d think Bekah would be the one who gossips but it’s really the hybrid.”
Kol pulls you into his arms, pressing a kiss to your forehead, “You really don’t want to celebrate?”
You shake your head, “You know I don’t like parties, especially big ones… and you know Rebekah and Caroline would formulate some big elaborate party within seconds.”
He chuckles, “Yes, dear Bex could have a caterer here with a snap of her fingers.”
You only stare at him with a pleading look until he sighs, “Fine, no party.”
“Thankyou,” you breath out, pressing a kiss to his lips, he hums in response, running his hands up and down your sides. You gently tug at his hair before finally pulling away, his lips chasing yours, making you giggle, “I have to go now…“
He groans, trying to pull you back for another kiss which you dodge, laughing, “I’m serious, Kol! Rebekah is having a fashion emergency… I better go to her before she shows up to drag me away.”
Kol sighs, muttering under his breath, “cockblock.”
You shoot him a look over your shoulder, already making your way to the door, “Goodbye Kol.”
“Love you too!”
Rebekah held you ‘hostage’ for nearly three hours at a little boutique. You would find a lovely outfit only for her to try it on and hate it. This cycle continued on and on until her phone buzzed. After taking a quick glance at whatever message was sent to her, she smiled, deciding that you had finally found the perfect outfit.
She stood abruptly, waltzing over to pick up a gorgeous dress, one that you kept looking at since you had gotten to the store, shoving it into your arms, “I’ve seen you eyeing it the whole time, go, try it on.”
You roll your eyes and make your way behind the changing curtain, you slip the dress on and just when you’re about to ask Rebekah to help you zip it, she flings the curtain open. She gasps, mumbling about how gorgeous you look and zips the dress after shoving a pair of heels into your hands that she determined were perfect.
She places her hands on your shoulders, smiling as she looks at you both in the mirror, “Kol is going to drop dead all over again when he sees you…”
Smiling softly, you turn around to face her, “He told you didn’t he?”
“Told me what?” she asks quickly.
You raise a brow and she rolls her eyes, “Fine, Kol mentioned it… and while I may think it’s sad you don’t want a party—“ she pauses when you scoff before continuing, “—I accept it, and I’ll instead buy you this gorgeous dress I know you want… and then later on you and I could go for drinks or something?” she asks, hopefully.
You grin, “I’d like that, Bekah.”
The two of you make your way to the register and you don’t miss the fact she’s using Klaus’ card to pay.
Most of the lights were off when you made it back home. You toss your jacket onto the coat rack and immediately start talking, knowing that wherever Kol is in the house, he’ll be able to hear you, “You told Rebekah? I guess I have to worry about you and Nik—“
You stop talking when you walk into the dining room, the lights are all off or dimmed very low. Multiple candles are lit around the room and the table has been set for two. Just by inhaling, you can tell that your favorite meal has been prepared.
You let out a squeal when you feel two hands wrap around your waist, you know it’s Kol and relax as he pulls you flush against his chest. He presses a kiss to your neck, “You look gorgeous, my love.”
Spinning around, you wrap your arms around his neck, looking up at him, noting that he’s changed into a suit, “And you, sir, look dashing… and like you completely forgot that I didn’t want to celebrate.”
“What?” he grins, mischievously, “I’m just a guy… who wants to have a nice candle-lit dinner with his lovely girlfriend on the day that just so happens to be her birthday…”
“Uh huh…” you hum, smiling a bit when you hear the music that’s playing, “This is the song we danced to the night we met…”
He smiles, cheekily, “Is it? Hm… I had no idea.”
You roll your eyes, patting his chest, “Yeah, okay, Romeo.”
He begins to sway with you slowly and you feel yourself melt into his touch, resting your head against his chest.
“C’mon now, love, our food is going to get cold… and I slaved away to cook for you,” he slides his hands off your waist and pulls out your chair for you to sit.
You raise a brow and sit down, “So this is why you sent me away with Bekah?”
Kol sighs, walking to his seat, “She wasn’t supposed to tell you…”
You shrug, “She didn’t, I figured it out… but how did you already know I wouldn’t want a party before you even asked?”
“Because I know you.”
“Well,” you smile, “You know what else that means, right?”
“What?” he places his hands on the back of his chair.
A teasing smile finds its way onto your face, “You cockblocked yourself earlier.”
“I suppose I did… well, we’ll need to do something about that…” he’s around the table and standing behind you in a second.
You pout, playfully, mocking the tone he used just moments before, “But our dinner will get cold.”
He only smirks, “I’m craving something different…”
“Well, you better suck it up… it’s my birthday… and I want my meal…”
Kol groans, “You little minx… you’re pulling the birthday card now?”
You look at him, innocently, knowing damn well you weren’t hungry anymore, “You’ll just have to wait…”
“Darling, I’d wait a lifetime for you…” he presses a kiss to your cheek before disapearing momentarily.
When he returns, he sets a cake in front of you, three big candles are lit, a one, two, and zero, “Make a wish or a few… you’ve got years to make up for, my darling.”
You smile a bit, closing your eyes momentarily to think but there was nothing you could think to wish for, because you already had everything you could have ever dreamed of.

"you’re no good for me" "but baby, i want you, i want you, i want you"
pairings: klaus mikaelson x human fem!reader
warnings/tags: smut (18+), blood kink, blood sharing, unprotected sex (practice safe sex guys), creampie, needy klaus.
summary: you let klaus feed on you.
you'd expected him to be hungry. you just hadn't realized how ravenous he was, nor what drinking blood did to him.
"f-fuck, ah— c-careful," you gasped.
your voice echoed in the empty room, and his pleasurable grunts echoed with it. it was so dark that you could barely see a thing. you winced, again, from the strange new sensations surging through your body.
"ah— c-careful, klaus, please" you squeaked, it was the only sound that could escape your throat as he clamped your shoulder in his jaw. your neck was soaked, smeared in spit and blood, a leftover gift from when he had searched for the safest spot to drink.
he'd settled on the spot between your collarbone and neck, and there his teeth had sunk in.
with his fangs pierced right down to the bone and his lips bruising your skin, he continued to carefully suck your blood out and into his mouth. it felt like heaven, warm and wet sliding down his throat. to you it was a confusing mix of pleasure and pain.
"a-ah... is—is it, okay?" you whimpered.
klaus let out a low moan in response.
you couldn't move. you were clamped in his jaw, the jaw of a predator designed to keep its prey still, and his body was pinning yours to the cold wood of the floor.
to any passerby you would have looked terrifying. his body was obscured in the dark, appearing as just a hulking, bloody shadow, merging and distorting the outline of your own form; the visage of a monster in the night, consuming the body of a frightened human.
but that wasn't how you saw it. no, you were in the thralls of absolute delight.
one of his hands were on your waist, his fingers carefully drawing you up until you were held taut beneath his body, and the other hand was feverishly groping your tits.
he had torn your dress to feed and then tore a little further, leaving your skin bare right down to your ribs. he was squeezing, stroking, his thumb desperately massaging your nipple. he wanted to hear your whimpers, your soft jolts when he overstimulated that sensitive spot.
you felt him sink down between your legs, his hardened bulge thick and round as it nudged at your bare thigh. he was softly grinding it up against your panties.
you'd never do this, never. this wasn't like you at all. but you were doing it now.
you were mewled as he dry-humped your little body.
your breath was ragged, the soft puffs of condensation from your lips turned a ghostly white by the pale light.
feeding had always been a euphoric experience for him. but now, with you, it had become a full body orgasmic experience, feeding every positive stimulus in his brain and body.
every nerve in his body was on fire in the best way. his body was pulsing, pumping. his arms were covered in goosebumps, his dark hair standing on end, and his cock was painfully erect beneath his pants.
he needed relief. he needed more.
"mmm... mmm," his muffled groans got louder as he continued to feed.
his conscious brain was fighting those deep, vampiric urges, the need to indulge in pleasure no matter the consequences, but his subconcious was primal.
if he had his way he'd drain everything, slowly, all while pumping between your legs into your pretty little cunt, but he couldn't allow that.
you were a sweet, naïve thing, you'd just let him take you up here. your whimpers were heaven, but your softness was too pure for him to fully ruin.
so he forced himself to break a part from you.
he withdrew his fangs and pulled back, revealing the purple, bruised skin of your shoulder. he licked the wound clean before forcing himself away.
"please, please, if you—if you give me your wrist, i—i'll be done, and—"
klaus paused to pant, his lips still stained red. you watched your own blood drip down his chin.
"and, if i could... have you, in another way, it may help to, calm my urges" he said, his voice husky and dark. you watched his eyes glimmer a bright gold. "may i have you?"
"yes," you instinctively blurted, he lunged forward and kissed you. his lips were hard, rough, and you could taste the metallic sting of blood on them. when he pulled back he looked overjoyed.
"good. good. come here, love," he ordered.
you jolted as he dragged your body forward. he carefully tore a hole through your dress and panties with his bare hands.
you shuddered as the cold air hit your bare and slick-coated pussy, but klaus didn't leave you bare for long.
he roughly manhandled you onto the ground before stripping out his suit, allowing his already erect cock to fall down hard on your clit. the sight caused a small, surprised noise to escape your throat, one that he relished.
he was slow, deliberately distracting you with his cock as he raised your wrist to his mouth. he kept you captivated as he carefully slid it inch by inch down your swollen clit, letting you feel every inch.
the pleasure of sinking both his teeth and his cock into you at once was enough to make him physically shake.
with a soft grunt he penetrated both.
your words were turned to gibberish as he pushed his cock in deep, until his pelvis was perfectly squished up against you. the moment your blood hit his throat he started to pump.
you were inside him, and he was inside you. on that filthy, cold floor, you were his.
he started to push his cock in tandem with his teeth.
as his fangs gently shifted beneath the skin, as his lips sucked and bruised, his fat cock gently slipped in and out of your cunt. for such a furious feeder he was a surprisingly gentle lover.
he was terrifyingly strong, that much was clear up close. he bent your thighs until they ached, his fingers digging into the soft flesh as he held you in place, and with each push you could feel the power he was holding back.
you felt him pumping, drawing out your precious blood while his cock ravaged you from inside. each delicious slip, each pulsing throb, every time you felt his cock twitching for attention against your creamy walls, it was unbearable.
you were whining, your heavy breathes producing less and less ghostly condensation. klaus was panting furiously with each thrust, his breath condensing like smoke as he huffed through his curled nose. he was lost in the pleasure, the urge, the need.
and between the tightness, the heat, the copious oozing slick squelching and pooling around his bare skin and dripping off his balls as they smacked against your ass, mixed with the sound of you whining and the fresh blood in his body, he couldn't last any longer.
with a single, muffled groan, klaus came inside of you. his blue eyes rolled back and his body began to buck, smacking your hips until they went numb.
just as he felt your hot blood filling his mouth you felt his thick seed pooling and squishing its way into your cunt, filling every available space. it started to seep out as he continued to hump your limp body, now hanging in sweat, hot pearly strings between his pelvis and your inner thighs.
he pumped inside you until he was utterly spent, his own head now hazy and light, and at last he released you. your wrist fell limp to the floor.
klaus coyly wiped his mouth on the back of his wrist before brushing your forehead. "are—are you alright?"
the relief he felt when you shakily nodded was unmatched.
"thank you," he murmured, his fingers lingering on your cheek. "you were... delicious."

Bewitched.
Warnings: Minors dni, smut, oral, cunnilingus, unprotected, fluff, some violence, biting
Pairing: Klaus Mikaelson x Witch reader
Summary: You're a witch with a specific skill set, one that has intrigued a certain hybrid.
Word count: 2.7k
...
Voodoo. Magic. Impulse. Obsession.
She was his newest fascination.
Klaus heard her laughter cracking through the walls of the barren bar before it cut short. He observed the sunlight blazing across her poorly parked car. His lips slanted in mild amusement. He told himself, that’s all it was, all she was. Mild amusement for an immortal. Though, something felt different.
He strutted into the place, head hung high as he scanned the bare vicinity. His eyes halted on a man behind the bar, rinsing glass cups. The bartender's eyes adverted from Klaus, the second he caught his stare. The man's nerves were duly noted as Klaus approached him.
“I’ll have a glass of your finest red,” Klaus spoke artfully, with a fake smile plastered on his face. The worker shuddered. “Ug- we’re not serving right now.”
“No worries mate,” his mellifluous voice paused. “The red I fancy isn’t something I’d find on your menu.” The man's gaze shot up to Klaus’s. His lips trembled as Klaus continued his jest. “Unless you intend to provide me with a bite, I suggest you tell me where she’s hidden.” Klaus’s threat echoed through the building, till silence took its place.
Suddenly, the sound of a back door, opening and slamming shut jolted Klaus away from the bartender. He instantly raced to the door, ripping it open. He watched as her frame scattered into her rusted car. He growled. There was no way he'd let her escape once again...
Your body was convulsing with anxiety. Who were you to know a little magic truce with the “other side,” would have a certain hybrid on your front doorstep. It didn’t help when you levitated everything in your apartment at him, including your freshly made spaghetti with bolognese. It was to be expected, that would piss him off...
Yanking the car door shut, you forced the key in and started the engine.
“Where are we headed this time darling?”
“Ahhh!” You screamed, snapping your head to the uninvited passenger. Klaus sat leisurely beside you, and you swear your life flashed before your eyes. “I must say, I enjoyed our time in Chicago. Perhaps San Fran may be the next best thing, love.” His smug face adorned your features, absorbing the way your face contorted in both fear and frustration.
“Jesus,” you huff, and Klaus’s smirk grows. “As much as I love the idea, somehow becoming your personal chauffeur isn’t that appealing.” Klaus chuckles lowly, leaning in, more and more.
“Well, if you hadn’t decided to run off, you crafty little thing," he drawls sweetly, "We wouldn’t have the pleasure.”
“If you weren’t trying to kill me, maybe I’d stick around.” Klaus’s brows twist like he's appalled by your words. “Who said I was interested in killing you?”
“You- I- then, what do you want?” You stammer. Klaus went quiet. You watched as his expression goes blank, before he acts as though he was in deep thought. Then, his mouth gaped in 'awe,' as if the answer suddenly came to him. “Your talents of course.”
“My talents.” You repeat, baffled.
“Yes, do keep up, my dear.”
“Why? You could have any witch at your disposal, at a moment's notice.”
The corner of his lips elevate once more. “I’m flattered.”
He’s become so close now, you feel his breath, and you try not to shiver as it grazes your neck. He, on the other hand, basks in your scent.
“But, unlike my other witches, you have a gift,” he muses. “Your connection with the dead is something to behold, and something I crave.”
After a prolonged silence, you speak. “If I help you with whatever," you move further into your seat, "When it comes to an end, you’ll let me walk away, unscathed?” Your brow quirks, and with every fibre of your being, you manage to maintain eye contact. “Yes, you have my word.” Klaus’s expression went stoic, holding an unflinching seriousness that made your heart rate stutter. And strangely, you knew you could trust him.
That's how you ended up as his lackey. For the past 5 weeks, you were at his beck and call as he tormented humans, werewolves, and vampires alike.
Like any other day, your conscious is eating away at you, as you call upon another ancestor of those he plagues. Today though, you finally broke. He had been cruelly punishing a guy for hours, as you questioned his late brother through the veil.
“That’s enough!” Klaus’s eyes dart to yours, and his angry appearance softens. Instinctively, he grips your forearm and drags you out of the motel room.
“Love, what’s wrong?”
“What's wrong is that I’m tired, and his brother is telling me jack shit about those ‘hunters.’” You huff, closing your eyes.
Klaus firmly presses himself stock-still, resisting every urge that wishes to devour you, as you naively allow him to hold you so close, let your guard down, and close your eyes. Such an urge that has only worsened, and become insatiable since you started your venture together…
“Love, why don’t you grab a bite from the cafe across the street, while I fill up the car's tank?” He says heartfeltly, "That way we both can have a break."
Your eyes flutter open, and you nearly tremble at the gentle look that flickers in his gaze. However, his body language, which clutches you tightly, suggests he is anything but. “Okay.”
After five minutes alone in a booth, you gather up the last of the courage you were trying to dispel. Now, heading back to the rented room, to release the hostage. Stupid, very stupid, you think. But you can’t help it.
When you enter the room, the door slowly creaks shut, and shadows engulf you. It’s too quiet, and you can’t see the hostage. Unease fills your system, and you begin to regret this decision. That impending regret soon became alarms going off, when the captive grabs your torso, roughly caging your arms. His grip is inescapable, and when you try to scream, his free hand covers your mouth.
“You fucking bitch,” he murmurs with disgust, and you wince. “How about I leave you bleeding out here, all laid out for you bloodthirsty master.” The man crackles with humourless laughter. “I’m sure he’d appreciate that.”
While his venomous words made you cower, you relentlessly struggle against him, fighting with all that you could muster. Unfortunately, your captor was a werewolf, and far too strong for you to at least break free, to cast a spell.
He muffles Klaus’s name with his palm, and tears prick your eyes. Even after the numerous times you’d bicker and argue, he was still the first person who came to mind, who you hopelessly called out to.
The man began lifting your body towards the door, urgently turning the knob. Just as the outside light cuts into your vision, you're wrenched from him, pulled into a powerful embrace. With ease, Klaus’s arms carry you away, swiftly placing you in the backseat of your car, locked safely inside.
His figure then disappears just as quickly, and you hear your aggressor's voice wail in pain. Shaking, you curl over yourself, covering both ears pathetically.
After what feels like an eternity, two large hands cup your tear-stained cheeks, bringing you out of your shell. He quiets you, as he slides inside the vehicle, smoothly pulling you onto his lap. One of his arms supports your back, while the other strokes your hair. Calming you down, he mutters things like: 'Everything’s fine now love,' 'I’m here,' 'I’ll take care of you...'
“I’ve never felt so helpless,” you mumble.
He shakes his head. “There’s nothing you could've done to stop a werewolf, especially when a full moon draws near,” he soothes. You press your cheek further into his broad chest. “Though, I wish you would’ve just listened to me for once, and stayed put.”
You shoot your head up, adjusting to face him, close enough that your noses nearly meet. “If I listened to you, I’d probably be dead by now.”
“Oh really?” He grins, eyes creasing, “How so?”
“Well, for one, that time you ordered me to question that vampire chick's dead boyfriend about his affair, right in front of her.” Klaus guffaws. “You're laughing, but she would've bit my head off.”
“She wouldn’t have,” he denies, still chuckling.
“Yes, she would have Klaus.” You start to laugh too.
“You know, I wouldn’t have let her.” His face deadpans, “Like I didn’t let our were-friend hurt you," he voices, airily. "I gave you my word.”
“Yes, of course, your word.” You giggle nervously, glancing at the hand currently bracing your thigh, gliding its thumb back and forth. “It’s not all that I’ve given you.”
You look up and are met with a mysterious look this time. Your brows furrow in confusion. He smiles dreamily, “Your skills as a witch truly know no bounds.”
“The hell are you talking about now?” You retort, making Klaus laugh loudly.
“I’m talking about your spell," he whispers. "The one that has bewitched me.”
You freeze, heart dropping.
“You don’t mean that...” Your sentence trails off as Klaus stares through you.
He’s so unpredictable, that a part of you believes he's most likely playing some sick game. But, there was also a possibility that he meant it, and all the hidden desires, for your unconventional boss, were about to bubble to the surface.
“I've meant every word, from the moment I met you, when you got the better of me.” He smirks, breath fanning your face. “Witchcraft.”
Then his lips take yours, slow at first, but the entanglement shortly turns desperate. Slightly hesitant, you grind on him, eager to pull him closer. He groans, and his hands enthusiastically roam your waist and back, beckoning you nearer.
Moving in a frenzy, as your fingers tangle in his locks, you swing your leg to straddle him. He moans your name in between kisses, and palms your ass.
Continuously rolling your body into him, makes you feel his arousal, causing a whine to escape. When your lips break apart, his mouth runs down your jaw, to your neck. You gasp, but you don’t stop him. He audibly tells you how much he’s enjoying himself, and you squeeze your thighs over his.
“I can only imagine how sinful you taste here darling.” He remarks as his hand slides over your core, and you whimper. “How about you let me try?” He hums politely. “You know you want me to.”
“No,” you huff.
“No?” His voice rises questioningly, and a hand gropes your chest, while the other grips your chin, tilting your head down to peer into his eyes. “Not here,” you finish, and he smirks wildly.
“Then, I’ll just have to get us a private room?” He purrs seductively into you ear, making you shiver. “One that is, unoccupied,” he rolls his tongue, and you shiver again at the double meaning behind his words. You don’t even want to think about what he did to your assailant…
“Please,” you sigh into a kiss, pecking his lips, which seems to surprise Klaus momentarily. His surprise briskly turns into a beaming smile. “To be continued,” he utters before shifting you off him, and rushing out the car.
Not long after, Klaus reappears with that same childlike cheer gracing his features. Jerking the door open, he outstretches his hand like a gentleman. You accept it, and his palm completely envelops yours. He tugs you to his hip, and nibbles on your earlobe while you walk to a random room.
As soon as the door locks behind you, he presses himself against your backside. “Now, how about that taste?” He mutters while lifting your hair to kiss your nape, and rubbing himself against you. You press closer, before spinning around to enclose your mouth on his again. He groans into your mouth approvingly, backing your body toward the queen-size bed.
His lips free yours when your back legs hit the edge, and you fall backwards with a yelp. His hands soon make work of your lower half, removing your clothes as he kneels infront of your cunt. You inhale deeply, as cool air hits your bare body.
He goes silent, so you raise your head to peek at him. Klaus ogles you heatedly, like the predator he is. “Lovely,” he sing-songs.
He abruptly grips your thighs and heaves your core to his mouth, so close, his breath warms your skin. “K-Klaus.”
“Hmmm,” he hums shortly, before delving into you. You sob a cry of shock. His tongue expertly runs over your folds, sucking the nub with such a slow deliberation, like he can’t decide how he wishes to take you at first, as if he’s imagined every which way he could.
You whine, motioning him to make his choice, bucking up, feeling his stubble scratch you. Then he grows aggressive, hungrily lapping your clit, over and over, until he ushers out your orgasm.
When your lengthy climax finishes, he moves to sigh pleasantly into the crook of your neck. “You’re incredible,” he emits with a chant of your name, thoroughly relaxing your shaking form.
“Fuck, take off your clothes,” you beg. He immediately abides by your command, tearing off his shirt and pants. You grab his necklaces to haul his lips to yours. You savour every inch of yourself on his tongue, and he relishes in how dirty the act is.
“There’s only so much I can do before dawn, and it won't nearly be enough to satisfy my hunger for you.” His poetic words erupt something within. You exhale, “It seems you’re going to break your promise then.”
He stills at your words, befuddled. You elaborate, “There’s no way I’m coming out of this unscathed.” A timid smile spreads across your face, and he almost nods in understanding, feeling a strange quiver in his chest.
Wordlessly, he pulls himself from his slacks, and you take off the last of your clothes. Suddenly feeling a little out of body, you decide to take back some control of the situation. So, you flip your positions, once again, surprising Klaus, though he allows it.
You straddle him, and lower yourself onto his thick cock. You whimper the second the tip enters, and he growls, pressing his fingertips into your hips, definitely leaving bruises.
“You’re too big,” you gasp.
“You can handle it, sweetheart,” he states mindlessly. He wraps his arms around your waist and arms, pulling you down onto him. His hips press completely into you, pushing himself inside to the hilt. A wheeze leaves your lungs as he grounds into you. “Klaus, it’s too-“
“It’s perfect,” he finishes for you. You barely have any time to adapt to his size before he begins pounding. Pleasure wracks through you, and he takes whatever control you had away. His pace is unnerving, and you utter incoherent words, while his fangs graze your neck.
“Tell me,” he groans through his panting. “Tell me you want me.” He demands, though it almost sounds like he’s begging for it. “I-I want you.” The words stumble out as his thrusts reach your center.
“More,” he just about whines.
“I want you Klaus,” you shout. “You feel so good- fuck I’ve always wanted this, you.” You ramble, egged on by him. He loves it, and you feel it in his strength. He holds you tighter, and the air abandons your body.
Feeling his leg tremble, you know he’s close. “Bite me.” His clamped-shut eyelids pop open, and his dark pupils bore into yours. You kiss him, and take his bottom lip between your teeth. “Bite me while you cum,” you command.
He gulps before taking his last few pumps into you. He moans into your neck as his teeth puncture your flesh. You cry out at the mixture of pain and pleasure that shatters you both.
After almost 10 minutes, he releases you from his firm caress and kisses the holes in your neck.
Still inside, he turns you both on your sides. You catch your breath. “How are you still hard?” You sigh in exasperation, and he chuckles breezily. “I told you, you’ve bewitched my very soul darling.” He smirks.
“This is only the beginning.”

Could you make an imagine where Klaus Mikaelson is the father figure to the reader despite not being her real dad? And her birth father came back trying to take her but Klaus wouldn’t stand for it and wouldn’t let him take the reader?
Home
Klaus had just been taking a stroll through the woods when he finds himself walking towards the sounds of a beta's broken sobs. Seeing the little abandoned wolf, Klaus takes her home with him, hoping that he'd be able to become her safe place -- which he very successfully does. But what happens when Y/n's biological father returns after ages in hopes of getting her back?
Warnings - None really, other than the fact that it's quite sad (but with happy outcomes I promise <3)
Word Count - 4.0k
Masterlist | please reblog the fic if you like it!
I'm so so so sorry for my absence the past whole week but hey, this is quite literally a 4k worded fic! So hopefully that makes up for it? (Also, thank you for the request, lovely anon. Please do tell me if you like it!!)
Also! I took the idea of Y/n's wolf being a little out of control from this very very amazing fic written by the truly talented @klausysworld Please do give the fic a read, if you haven't already that is, hahah <3
Klaus had been taking a stroll through the woods, his feet carrying him just about anywhere while his mind sped through thoughts a million miles an hour. He made plans, then backed them up with another one, and then made another one, just in case. And he'd just lifted his leg to cross over a fallen tree when his body came to an unnatural halt.
He was never caught off guard, but right now, as he heard hushed sobs and a heart that was beating in a painfully broken rhythm, he couldn't help but gently continue his stroll – in a particular direction with an aim, this time.
His head tilted as he neared the source of the sound, his nose picking up on a beta scent. It had been way too long since he had come across a beta, his major interactions occurring with either other Alphas or Omegas, or Vampires. As well as some other species that rather got on his nerves, such as the witches. It intrigued him.
From quite afar, his eyes finally caught sight of a rather small frame crouched against the rough bark of a tree, a jerk shaking their body every time their back accidently met with it, followed by another painful but gritted howl.
But what made Klaus' frown deepen even further, was the sight of wolf ears growing from the person's head. He felt as though his eyes were deceiving him; he had never come across something like this and if he wasn't mistaken, he was pretty sure that this was just an untrained little wolf -- or perhaps it was the strangeness making him think that there couldn't possibly be another mythical creature that was actually all too real.
So, he walked closer, his head a little ducked and shoulders bunched up on either side of his neck as he tried not to make any sound as that would surely startle the ...child, he realised.
The little frame, sobbing into their hands with their knees bunched up against their torso, belonged to a child. A werewolf child who was beginning to lose control of their wolf, and just then Klaus noticed a tail curling up against the little one's back in order to provide comfort.
He flinched when some wood broke unde his step, alerting the little girl and his heart cracked like a drought-stricken land when she jerked and looked up at him with eyes so big, full of fear swarming them and so much sadness that he could drown in it and not be found.
She immediately backed up into the tree, hissing sharply when her back met the unruly surface but not once did her eyes move away from him. Her lips trembled, a fat tear rolling down her cheek against her will and Klaus noted that the girl could not be older than a decade.
Taking another step towards her, Klaus froze when her wolf ears went back in, and a sob broke out of her mouth.
"Please, sir! I will do whatever you ask of me, but please don't hurt me," she shouted at him, fully breaking down into heart wrenching sobs as she tried to get up on wobbly legs but fell to the ground right away due to the tremor coursing through her body.
Tears blurred his vision for a second before he took the final step toward her which brought him close enough to sit on his knees beside her and rest his hand on her head.
"It's alright, little wolf. I'm not here to harm you," Klaus whispered, feeling her body falling into shambles under his touch. But when she looked up at him with uncertainty in her eyes, he couldn't help but pass her a reassuring smile.
"You are safe with me, sweetheart," he said, now weaving his hand across her forehead to brush away the hair that stuck to it. "Yes?" He asked her with a soft nod, bringing her closer to his chest when she too, nodded. Her eyes were still uncertain but he could tell that it won't take long for her to let go.
This was a child, full of enough naivety to trust a stranger and Klaus was more than glad that he’d found her before someone else could’ve. And maybe his Alpha scent provided her with the extra comfort that she most likely needed, but Klaus wasn’t complaining.
So he rested his back against the tree this time and let her sit in his lap, his arms around her in a way that cocooned her away from whatever that had pained her so terribly, and ready to protect her from anything that came her way with poisonous intentions.
His heart clenched inside his chest when the little girl curled up against him, finally letting the sobs rake through her body and for all the sadness to cause havoc inside her little heart before it left her alone for good.
And for some reason, Klaus just knew to avoid her back. It was clear that she was hurt over there somehow, making him rub his hand up and down her arm instead, and rock the two of them side to side for a little bit. Slowly and slowly, her wails turned into softer sobs and then finally, Klaus heard her heartbeat go back to a normal pace again.
He looked down to see if she'd cried it all out, wanting her to tell him about the culprit who had hurt her like this but when he found that she had slipped into a deep, peaceful slumber, he didn't even think once before carrying her home with him, covering her up under his duvet while he sat on the sofa across the bed, looking at her and telling himself that there was no way he was going to be able to let her go.
He just felt something between them, something that brought them closer in a way he had never experienced before. He felt like he was supposed to love her, care for her, teach her all about the world and show her the wonders. He felt like taking her responsibility, giving her his last name and raising her protected from the world.
Perhaps it was because he, somewhere, saw his inner child in her. The child that so helplessly begged for just some love from his father and got the horrifying abuse instead.
Klaus wanted to take her under his wing and be there for her while she grew up. He wanted this very clearly abandoned little wolf to call him her father, and his brothers her uncles and his sisters her aunts.
He couldn't sleep all night, fearing that she'd wake up and ask for her actual parents. And he knew he'd take her back in an instant if she wanted to, but it would tear him apart into uncountable and unrecognisable shreds.
And so, he waited all night for her to wake up and hopefully deny him when he'd ask her if she wanted to go back home. And Klaus would go to hell and back to build her a home; to become her home.
But despite his stubborn decision to stay up and look after her, Klaus awoke to something soft and comforting touching his whatever exposed skin. And as he cracked open his eyes, the sunlight was already pouring inside his room and one of his blankets was draped over him. And he knew it hadn’t been on him for long as he had felt it sliding across his frame, and yet he couldn’t catch sight of the carer.
That was, until he began getting up and he looked down to find the little girl, sitting beside his feet and looking up at him with doe eyes full of ...joy. He noted that the girl was happy to see that he was finally awake, her heartbeat picking up just a little as a smile slid on her mouth.
“Thank you, Alpha,” the girl mumbled shyly, placing her hands on his knees while she began standing up. And Klaus’ arms instantly went ahead in order to prevent her from falling but she didn’t stumble once, reminding him that she probably had werewolf healing powers that performed with a slight delay due to her young age.
Klaus opened his mouth to say something but when the girl warily wrapped her arms around his neck, standing on the very tip of her toes to do so, he found himself caught off guard, once again. But regardless, he hugged her back rather tightly, lifting her off the ground and bringing her on the sofa.
“Are you okay now, little wolf? Does it still hurt?” Klaus asked her, one of his hands cupping her face while the other cradled her. And his heart swooned when she curled up on him just like the night prior, but this time only soft breaths passed through her mouth.
“The wounds have healed, Alpha,” she mumbled, almost hiding her face by tucking it away in his chest. “But my heart still hurts, I think,” her voice wavered as she confessed, now clenching his henley in her fist due to the unease it brought to her.
“Oh, little wolf,” Klaus sighed, his eyebrows turned into an upside down frown as he looked upon her with pity. “Do you want to tell me what happened?” He whispered, cautious so she wouldn’t shut him off, even though she was too young to know of such a thing.
“My father, he – he kicked me out of the pack yesterday,” she told him with a quivering voice, tears beginning to pool in her eyes once again. “He told me – he said that he doesn’t love me… that – that he never has!” She cried out, a sob aching her throat and wrapping itself around it so tightly that it was almost beginning to choke her.
“He said he doesn’t love me,” she repeated, her body now shaking in Klaus arms as his heart crumpled inside his chest as he noted just how much she cared and felt, and that she was having to relive it again right now.
“Why did he kick you out, darling?” Klaus asked, wanting to end her misery and just a one line answer would be enough for him to go over and slaughter the entire pack.
“He wanted me to learn how to handle the pack once he wouldn’t be there anymore, how – how to be an Alpha,” she told him, tears flowing out of her eyes that had now grown bloodshot red.
And just then, her ears popped out of her head once again, and Klaus couldn’t help but pet the welted ears in order to help her calm down.
“But I didn’t want to! I – I don’t want to take charge after him!” She told Klaus, this time her voice changed its tone to be more convincing and desperate. She sat upright, trying to show Klaus just how much she’d rather work behind the scenes than take the lead officially.
“It’s okay, little wolf – you won’t have to anymore,” Klaus reassured the girl, weaving his fingers through her hair and pressing a kiss on her forehead. “You’ll be here with me, safe and sound, and I will love you, sweetheart,” he whispered, looking into her eys with the purest sincerity.
“I truly love you, little wolf,” Klaus said softly at recieving a questioning look from her, asking if he honestly meant what he was saying. “And I will always show you love.”
She brightened up at that, the shine of a couple stars returning to her eyes as she got up, but then saddened again. “But what about home?” She asked, her tears beginning to dry up on her cheeks as she wiped them away.
“Do you wish to go home?”
“No,” she trailed off, looking away from his eyes as if guilty, causing Klasu to cup her cheeks and turn her back to face him.
“Then I’ll be your home, little wolf,” he smiled at her. “Yes?”
The girl nodded, quickly leaning in to press a kiss on his dimpled cheek.
“What’s your name, darling?”
“Y/n, Alpha,” she answered him, and Klaus wanted more than anything for her to call him her father or dad, but knew that he should give her some time.
“Lovely,” he grinned, taking her in his arms and getting up to let her in the shower and then introduce her to the rest of the Mikaelsons.
And it wasn’t long before Klaus found himself officially adopting Y/n, making her a Mikaelson and his heart had swollen inside his ribs when she’d so shyly asked him if she could finally call him her father.
Over the first couple months only Klaus noticed that her gentle and empathetic nature valued deep and personal connections with people over power and attention. He also learned that the reason she hid her high intelligence and outstandingness in whatever field she chose, was because that was simply ingrained in her beta personality.
So, gradually, books all about betas began to fill shelves in their library quarter of the house.
“Father!” Came in a shrieking voice, followed by his ears picking up on a rapid heartbeat and he was out of the bed in an instant, checking her over to see if she was hurt and he only shook his head when he found that Kol had just been chasing her around the house, early in the morning to keep her interest while Freya made breakfast for her.
“Good morning, little wolf,” Klaus grinned, picking her up off the ground and spinning with her in his hold, pressing as many kisses as he could all over her face as she pressed her palm against his face to keep his stubble away.
Loud giggles and squeaks echoed throughout the mansion as Klaus brought her back to bed with him, letting her lay on top of him.
It quite hurt him that she was too tall to curl up on him now, but it still felt good when her heart pressed up against his despite the many layers of bones and skin and clothing keeping them apart.
“Uncle Kol was chasing me with his vampire speed! Tell him that that’s not fair!” She whined, looking pointedly at Kol who was shaking his head at the door.
“You’re a wolf, little one,” Klaus began, pulling her attention back on him. “You can outrun anyone,” he smiled.
Y/n contemplated that for a second before she moved to sit upright beside him with a pout on her mouth. “Anyone but you, father.”
Klaus laughed at that, tackling her back into bed. “You do not wish to outrun me, now do you, little wolf?” He asked her, getting out of bed and letting her cling to him on his chest as he went downstairs. He knew that as a wolf, she preferred to nuzzle anywhere she found warmth, and that his chest was one of her favourite places.
Sitting her down on the chair next to him, Klaus let her eat her food by herself. Sure, the honey did drizzle down her chin once but he didn’t mind, instantly cleaning it up with his thumb before it could’ve slipped down any further.
Elijah asked her questions about the storybook he had bought her a couple days prior, Rebekah asked her if the girl wanted to help her aunt pick out a dress, Kol warned her against it by threatening to chase her and Freya smacked all of them on the back of their heads, telling them off to let you eat.
“Father, are you free to paint with me after this?” Y/n asked, looking at him with eyes that had truly unintentionally turned similar to a little puppy’s.
Klaus finished his food, noting another thing that her shyness had truly dissipated into thin air. And all that it had left behind was politeness and some convincing eyes that could get the devil to let go of a deal.
“Of course, Y/n,” he smiled, getting up and grinning when she trotted behind him happily with her own empty plate in her hand. He watched as she put it in the sink and washed her hands and mouth, letting her chug down her orange juice for once as he wiped his own mouth.
Once again, she followed him back inside his studio like a lost puppy. Klaus came back out with the heavier and the majority of supplies in his hands while Y/n skipped behind him with the paints and the brushes in hers.
Walking into the front yard, Klaus set down all of their stuff and sat himself in front of her, chuckling when he noticed that she’d already begun twirling her brush around on her canvas, not a single thought in her mind as she let out anything that flashed in front of her eyes, onto the paper.
Klaus on the other hand, decided to make a painting of colours chosen from her hair. Every colour he saw in the midst of her hair strands, he put it on his canvas, slowly and slowly morphing into a tree’s bark.
And when he checked upon her canvas to see where her painting was going, he felt his dimples dig inside his cheeks at the sight of every and any shade of green that she could find – perhaps in his eyes, Klaus realized when she raised her head to look into his eyes and went back to working.
Almost all of his days went like this, waking up to her running into his room after having had a shower, holding her in his arms for a little then taking her down for breakfast, where she would convince him to paint with her for a little.
After that he’d let her go off with Eilajh to read and learn some other things by Freya that she probably needed to learn. He would be out of the mansion during that, out to mind his business and kill his own minions because of their brave stupidity.
When he’d return to the mansion, Y/n would sleepily trod out of her bed and into his arms, let him pick her up and take her to bed where he’d just hold her and tell her how much he loved her, because someone had probably already read her a story or two.
Some nights she would wake up crying from a nightmare about her biological father, and then she would find herself running into Klaus’ arms which were already open, having heard her rushed footsteps and broken sobs.
Her wolf ears no longer popped out since Klaus had spent an insurmountable time helping her take her wolf under her control, but every once in a while, depending upon how bad the nightmare was, her tail would creep out of her shirt and curl itself either around Klaus’ arms or her own back, which Klaus didn’t object at seeing that she only did this when she was crying in his arms.
But once they’d finish painting, Y/n would run into the house with her and Klaus’ painting to show them off to her uncles and aunts, leaving Klaus behind to clean up the mess. But he didn’t mind it one bit, only laughing when she’d come back looking guilty and saying that she was sorry that she’d once again forgotten to help him clean up in her excitement.
And that’s exactly what had happened just now.
“It’s okay little wolf,” Klaus assured her. “You know I don’t mind it,” he said and let her hug him to show him just how bad she felt.
He rubbed her back, and got up with her hand in his, looking down at the back of her head and smiling as she led their way back inside.
“Wait father!” She paused her walking. “Look, the weather has taken a turn,” she stated, pointing at the sky in which angry clouds had begun swirling, the fluffy white ones long gone.
“Does that mean it’s reading time?”
“Yes!” The girl shrieked, jumping up and down, making Klaus laugh as she ran off to meet up with Elijah.
He caught himself grinning long after she had left his line of sight and shook his head, a smile still pasted on his mouth as he turned around to rule over the so-called supernatural adults whom even Y/n was smarter than.
“I see you’ve taken a liking to playing her father, Niklaus,” a rough voice said from behind, and while it hadn’t caught Klaus off guard, what had was the fact that this man was brave and dumb enough to step a foot in such close proximity to him.
Surely, he must have come with a death wish.
“Roman,” Klaus said out loud the name of Y/n’s biological father, his voice full of venom and he could’ve spat at the man in front of him. “I see you’re feeling daring today, perhaps even like dying?” He proposed, taking a threatening step towards the man.
Klaus had, the very next night of when he’d found Y/n, went on to slaughter Roman’s entire pack. He had let the man live since he wanted him to see and live through his own daughter's hatred towards him. So much hatred that she didn’t even look his way anymore, let alone call him her father.
“Let’s not get this messy, Niklaus,” Roman started but before he could’ve finished, Klaus had him pinned against the very door frame he was leaning so cockily on.
“I’m not your friend, Roman,” he gritted through his teeth, knowing that he didn’t need to clarify any further as to what he meant by that.
“Sir,” Roman started, stretching his neck. “I want my daughter back,” he said.
Red flashed in front of Klaus’ eyes as he sped towards Roman, tearing through his flesh and ribs to clench his heart in his fist. “I would’ve been a fan of such bravery had you not made the mistake of calling her your daughter when she fucking refuses to even recognise you,” Klaus finally spat at him, his grip on his heart so tight that it could burst due to the pressure.
“I will rip your heart out and shove it down your throat if you dare once again to call my daughter, yours, or call your lame excuse of a self, her father,” he said, pulling on his heart lightly. “She is mine, and I love her and this is her home now.”
“I am her home,” he gritted his teeth so hard that they could’ve shattered.
Roman’s frame was beginning to get blue, knocking the realisation into Klaus that his hold on his heart was so hard that it was struggling to beat. “Go to the opposite side of the world and never look back here again,” Klaus compelled him, finally taking his hand back out of his chest.
“Now off you go,” he said, maybe shooed. “I am sure you know that a wolf bite can only be cured by my blood,” he hissed venomously, his eyes shining golden as vampire streaks drew themselves through his skin.
And once Roman had finally sped out, Klaus let out a breath and his heart to rest again, his hands trembling at the thought of what could’ve happened right now had he not been who he truly is.
Rushing into his room to clean himself off, Klaus rushed back out to Y/n who was currently sitting in front of Elijah.
“Little wolf!” Klaus called for her as he stood at the doorway of the room, his vision getting blurry when she came running to him with the biggest smile on her face.
“Yes father? Missed me, didn’t you?” She giggled teasingly, wrapping her arms around him and Klaus couldn’t help but nuzzle in the nape of her neck, holding her tightly against him as he kneeled on the floor and felt a tear slip past the slit of his eyes.
“I love you, my little wolf,” he said, whimpering.
“Oh, I love you too, father,” she sighed, resting her head against his shoulder. “You should know that I’ll always be your little wolf.”
“Forever and always, my precious” Klaus breathed, pressing a chaste kiss on her cheek before resting his forehead against it for a moment, breathing in her scent and reminding himself that she’d also become his home now.

A Second Chance
A thousand years ago, when the Mikaelson's were still human, Niklaus had a secret lover.
She was soft and sweet, gentle and kind. Y/N would wash the blood away from the wounds that colour his skin as a result of his father's rage. Her soft humming would lull him to sleep, his head against her breast comfortably as they lay out in the forest where he felt most at home.
His siblings knew of Y/N, they had seen her around and met her once or twice but Esther and Mikael weren't in the know. Niklaus was too afraid they'd forbid him from seeing her and he could handle being without her.
Each of his siblings had sworn not to tell but Finn was so awful at keeping things from their mother.
Niklaus hadn't known that he brother has tattled until it was too late.
Henrik had been killed and Esther and Mikael in turn made the rest of their children undead forever.
However it was only when Klaus's true identity came to light that Y/N was punished too. In addition to Mikael locking away Niklaus's wolf side and swearing hatred on him, he sought to punish him further by shoving a dagger deep into her chest.
Niklaus's scream shook the trees, Elijah held him as his sobs dragged the grass back into the ground and buried the life that was lost.
As centuries past, his grief was hidden behind more death and agony of which Klaus inflicted across the world. Her face was painted a million times over, a thousand different styles until Klaus could not bear to look at her anymore, it was like tearing his heart out over and over.
When the daggers came into his possession, they reminded him of her. He could still see her fearful eyes begging him for help as the blood seeped through her dress. And yet the weapon made him feel close to her each time he used them.
Her memory began to fade as the years went by, she drifted within his mind as other things came and went. But she could never be forgotton.
Esther knew that, and she used that to her advantage. She knew from the first time she stumbled across her son bathing in the lake late at night with his arms hanging loosely around a girls naked hips, their foreheads touching as they gazed lovingly at each other. When mikael killed her, she kept the girl preserved and buried safely.
A thousand years later she finally had use for the girl.
So when her children stood threateningly at the doorway, Klaus's rage on full display, Y/N's frightened whisper would break his attention.
His eyes found her. She was in that same dress she died in, still stained by her own blood but now coated head to toe in mud. He stepped forward but Esther's hand grabbed Y/N's wrist tight in a warning and he froze. So did Elijah and Rebekah.
"She's human, Niklaus." His mother reminded. "You could be human with her, have a family, a real life together like you were supposed to." She offered, watching the glimmer in her sons eyes.
Elijah stepped forward, hold hand resting on Klaus's shoulder as he too stared straight at the confused, petrified girl they had all loved.
"She's not real." Elijah whispered, assuming it was a trick and Esther's expression darkened as a blade was swiped quickly across Y/N's wrist, not hard enough to be fatal but enough to draw blood and panic Klaus.
He was in front of her in a second, trying to pull her to him but Esther threw him to the wall before he could reach and just like that Elijah and Rebekah were moving too.
Y/N was shaking silently in the corner by the time that Esther had been torn apart.
Her body flinched and trembled even once she resided in Niklaus's arms. She whimpered weakly, confused words recited in the same language they had used all that time ago. Niklaus didn't remember much but he had played the memories of their words over and over so many times that he was still able to comfort her in his mother tongue.
They got her home quickly, hiding her away in Klaus's room and muttering amongst themselves as to what to do.
"There must be a way to at least let her understand english-" Rebekah questioned and Elijah sighed, glancing over to how Y/N's fingers touched Klaus's curls and she whispered in their old language about how short it had become.
"We'll ask Davina... we should let Niklaus get her washed...she appears as though she'd been dug up." He murmured, a furrow to is brow.
Rebekahs gaze drifted to her dirtied finger nails. "She wasn't dug up...mother wouldn't be so kind. She dug her own way out." She uttered and Elijah grimaced.
"Come, we should get her some tea..." Elijah swallowed thickly, guiding Rebekah out of the room and leaving his brother alone with his old love.
His hands tried to pick the clumps of dirt from her hair whilst also trying to understand the fast words she threw at him. He tried to give her the word for bathing and eventually she nodded, holding onto his hands as he lead her into the bathroom.
The bath was small, not like the lake and the water was hot, it startled her. Klaus steadied her, helping her down and climbing in behind her when she cried out for him not to leave her alone. Not again.
The feel of her skin back against his was a feeling Klaus had been so sure he had forgotten forever. She tried to turn to face him, ending up completely pressed on top of him as his hands washed the soap and water down her back only start panicking when the expensive body wash made her soft skin scatter with red rash.
"Oh-" He muttered and wrapped his arm round her waist and lifted her up with him. She muttered out in confusion but didn't struggle, too happy to be in his hold as he drained the water and started again, laying back down with her. "Come here, my sweet." He guided her onto her back so he could reach and see her hair as he washed it enough until it was back to the silkiness he remembered so fondly.
He heard her little sniffles first, before her shoulder shook slightly with a sob. Klaus's heart sunk slightly and he nudged his nose into the side of her neck, placing gentle kissed like she had loved so much but they made her cry harder.
Her words were lost on him, he couldn't recall the language well enough after so long and it made his guilt swirl so much it hurt. Klaus tried to make sense of something but all he could make out was "Darkness" and "loneliness".
He tried to comfort her with the few words still in memory but she wouldn't stop, not even once she was dressed in one of his shirts and tucked to his chest under the covers, a cup of tea in Klaus's hands that he'd insisted she sip on from time to time.
Eventually she sunk into sleep but it only lasted for so long before she was clawing at her throat with her already broken nails, as though she were suffocating.
Klaus grabbed at her hands, immediately being sucked into her mind. The image of her waking beneath the ground, unable to breathe or see as her hands tried to find the light above.
Only a few seconds passed before Elijah was bursting through the door, awakened by the screams. Rebekah and Marcel a few seconds later.
"I'm calling Davina." Marcel muttered to Rebekah after actually seeing the girls condition and hearing her foreign cries.
The lights were back on which calmed her partly, finally being able to see. Her hands clung onto Klaus's shirt, clutching the fabric against her palm for any sort of security.
Elijah and Rebekah were sat on the edge of Klaus's bed, watching the once full of life girl from their village full of fear and confusion.
Ages went by before Marcel returned with a half asleep Davina and a couple candles. Klaus rocked his love calmly, hand stroking her arm to prove he was still there as Davina set up around them. Her chant echoed through the room, flames standing tall and proud as she reluctantly held her hand out for Klaus to take and then gently held Y/N's in the other.
"I'm sorry...this is the only way I can think of." She whispered before a thousand years worth of Klaus's memories were thrust upon Y/N.
A loud sound of pain emitted from her and she held her head. Klaus frowned in concern, trying to cup her face to see what was happening but when she looked back at him it was like she had seen a ghost.
A thousand variants of each emotion painted her expression before she crawled back against him and breathed in his scent with each hiccuped cry.
After a while the others left and Klaus rest his chin on top her head.
She didn't utter a word for days, not in any language. Klaus would dress her and feed her each day, hold her to him as he showed her the television which only seemed to hurt her head.
He had left her downstairs on the couch when she had fallen into for once a stable sleep without the traumatic nightmare of being buried alive.
He was just in the other room, trying to think of any way to make things better for her and for them.
Y/N being alive had never once been a possibility in his mind, especially her being alive with no knowledge of any time passing to all of a sudden knowing every shameful act he'd committed.
Klaus was too lost in thought to hear Camille making her way into the abattoir, calling out for him and stumbling across Y/N who had just woken.
"Oh...uh hi." She blinked at the girl. She was clearly in Klaus's clothes. The sweatpants were barely holding onto her hips and the shirt was easily recognisable. Y/N stared back, she recognised her, from Klaus's memories. Camille, Cami.
He liked her, they'd danced together. He'd thought about her, a lot. It made her stomach twist uneasily and her knees pull to her chest self-consciously.
"Camille." Klaus's voice echoed over her head before he was kneeling down beside her and stroking her head, checking she hadn't woken in terror again. "I'm afraid this isn't a good time." He informed her, sitting down on the sofa and noting how Y/N withdrew, instantly making the mental connection.
"You haven't been answering, I worried something had happened." She explained warily as she watched Klaus watch Y/N.
"This is Y/N." He introduced faintly, his attention not lifting to her. "She died a thousand years ago but my mother brought her back, she's struggling to adjust for the moment. I'd appreciate if you left, I don't think new people is helping right now." He tried to tell her to leave as politely as possible.
Cami only nodded, the information hitting like a wave as she apologised under her breath and retreated.
Klaus stroked Y/N's cheek as he sighed softly, "Please understand that I love you Y/N." He murmured. "I would have chosen you over any woman I have ever come across without a doubt. I would have taken my mother's deal, I would be human beside you." He told her, eyes sincere. "I only wish we could go back all those years, I should have married you then." He uttered, a kiss pressed to her cheek.
"Why didn't you?" She whispered, speaking in english for the first time.
"I was afraid. Not of us, of-"
"Mikael." She mumbled, “I remember now, sorry." She sniffed and he sighed.
"You shouldn't have been given all my memories like that, it's too much for anyone to handle all at once." He sighed, his hands cupping her face and stroking her soft cheeks. "I won't ever leave you alone again. Never in the dark, never in the cold, never anywhere."
"I don't understand why she would bring me back." Y/N whispered and Klaus frowned.
"I'm happy you're here, my heart." He murmured, his brows furrowed. "I've lived to long without you, and you have not lived long enough. Things will be better now."
"You hurt and kill..." She whispered, a soft sniff to her words and he looked down.
"I know." He nodded. He hated all the evil she had seen him do through his memories. He was nothing like he used to be. "But I'd never hurt you, and I'd keep you safe."
"I don't want to be here." She whimpered and he held her onto his lap.
"It's just hard at the moment, we've only just started adjusting. It'll get easier and you'll start to like it. I know you've seen things through me but it'll be so much better when you actually experience them." He persuaded, stroking her hair but she didn't look overly convinced.
"I don't want to push my way into your new life." She mumbled and sighed softly to himself in slight annoyance, not being annoyed with her but annoyed with the idea that he could ever not want her with him in his life. She would never be an inconvenience for him, a long time ago she was every thing for him and now she was that again. It had been clear that Klaus's attention had remained on her since the second his eyes found hers again, it was very possible that Klaus wouldn't be so infatuated with power so much now.
She held the innocence of his past that he had lost. She gave him something that no thing or other person could ever supply.
She was old life and she would be his new life, he could finally have a second chance worth taking.
His body was curled around hers, protecting her frame like a shield as he nuzzled her hair. "You're not pushing in, my love. If anything, I'm pulling you in. I don't think I can ever lose you again." Klaus uttered, his eyes closing as his mind conjured a hundred different possibilities for their future. "You are the life in my death, even when I was human...you were the light.

Hello, can you write a one shot for the human yandere Klaus Mikaelson, where he generally maintains a fairly normal courtship with his girlfriend although he is still super obsessive and protective, but after they get married and she gets pregnant, they break into her house at night while they were sleeping and Klaus kills the thief so that he does not hurt his pregnant wife and after this event his Yandere side comes to light and he becomes extremely protective, to the point that they move to a house in the middle of nowhere so that Nothing and no one can see his wife, and he practically doesn't let her go out or do anything alone, which leads her to make a garden so she can have food for dinner and Klaus installs many cameras to monitor her and even learned to attend a birth.
Extreme Paranoia -Klaus M.
All Human AU
Summary: Klaus becomes overly paranoid after a break-in at his home. Even after killing the intruder, it is not enough for him-he needs to protect his wife and son no matter what.
Y/n had always known that Klaus was paranoid, but the break in seemed to have switched something in his brain into overdrive.
Y/n had heard glass shattering downstairs as she was tending to their 8 month old son in his nursery and she immediately jumped from the recliner where she was nursing him in fear. Elliot instantly began crying as he was ripped away from his meal and continued as Y/n carried him into their bedroom, seeing Klaus awake as he rubbed his eyes.
‘What fell?’ He asked, still groggy from just being awoken.
‘Klaus, I think someone is downstairs, something shattered and I could hear footsteps on-‘ she didn’t even get to finish her sentence before he was out of the bed, grabbing the fire poker he kept in the room.
‘It’s okay, stay here love, do not move from this bed, do you hear me? I’ll take care of it-‘
‘No, no don’t leave us. Please? Klaus, what if he has a gun? What if-‘
He shushed her instantly, kissing her lips firmly. ‘I’ll be fine. You just stay and keep Eliot safe. Here, call 911.’ He instructed, handing her the phone and she did as he said, calling the police as he shut the door behind him.
At the end of the night the medics had taken the man that broke in to the hospital, doubting he would make it that far with how badly Klaus had fucked him up. Her husband was put off by the fact that the police needed to see her before they could leave and she came to the stairs with their son who made grabby hands for his Daddy who instantly reached out for him.
‘Babe, you can’t touch him! You’re covered in blood!’ Y/n exclaimed and Klaus just seemed to notice. The police left and they locked up again and Klaus showered as quickly as humanly possible before rushing back to his wife and son who he held the rest of the night, Y/n cuddled to his side all while he had his laptop open, researching the safest places to live.
It took Klaus one week to have their entire lives packed and moved to the new house, one that he had bought in a bank auction and had fixed as quickly as possible. He has installed security cameras all over outside the house as well as one in the baby’s room, the doors were all triple locked and there were motion sensors that he had installed by the driveway entrance to their property (one that you couldn’t find unless you were really looking).
Y/n thought he was going a bit overboard when he bought the gun, but he kept it in a safe lock box that Eliot could never get in and insisted she learn to use it.
They were living happily for a few weeks but as Klaus made more and more “upgrades” to the house he seemed to get more paranoid. He wouldn’t let her leave anymore, insisting he do the shopping himself, and go out to get everything they need. She stopped going out with friends as it made Klaus physically ill with worry, and instead decided to tend to a garden. They were in the middle of nowhere so shopping wasn’t very easy and having fresh produce as well as a large chicken coup made it easier.
Y/n didn’t think that Klaus’ paranoia could get worse until she told him that she was pregnant with their second child. More cameras went up and he adopted a large female Pitbull and male Cane Corso from the shelter in the closest town, the dogs were the sweetest, happiest and loviest creatures they had ever met but Klaus was happy to learn that the large Cane Corso-Dantè didn’t like men that weren’t himself or his son, and hated them around his “mommy”. Something that set Y/n’s mind at ease was how protective the Pitbull-Scout was of their son. She was with him at all times so when he ventured off on his own-which was rare while his mother was making dinner-Y/n knew that he was safe and Klaus knew that both his son and his wife were protected as they needed to be.
The last crazy thing that Klaus did was learn everything he could about home births. He caved when she demanded a midwife that could be there and induce her labor as well as give her an epidural as she refused to push a baby out of her coochie without proper drugs. Klaus was just happy that he wouldn’t have to take her to a hospital.
It was actually Dantè that alerted Klaus to Y/n going into labor, running up to his office and barking like crazy. Eliot had just turned 2 and had been helping his mother tend to the chickens when her water broke and he was sitting with her and rubbing her belly sweetly when Klaus got outside-carrying her in as he called the midwife with their son right on his heels.
‘I’ll be fine, go make him something easy for dinner and set him on the couch with Scout. He will be fine and so will I, you’re going to give yourself a heart attack and leave us here all alone Nik, relax.’ The midwife wouldn’t be there for another 20 minutes and though she loved her son, Eliot being in the room was more of a hinderance than anything. ‘Go, feed him, feed the dogs, feed you and bring me a cup of my ice chips when you come back.’
That was a cute surprise that Klaus had gotten her when she had compromised about not going to a hospital, he found an ice maker that makes ice chips like the ones in hospitals as he knew she wouldn’t be allowed to eat much. ‘Alright. Yell if you need something and I will be right here.’
‘I promise.’
‘Okay. Come on buddy, Mommy needs to rest before she has your little sister and you need dinner. You and Scout can watch Bluey while you eat dinner. Stay here Dantè, I’ll bring you your dinner.’ He promised, carrying his son downstairs and setting him on the couch, telling Scout to stay with him which she did right away, Klaus turning the camera in the living room on and turning on the app on his phone as well as turning on the camera in his bedroom that he had for emergencies-wanting to keep an eye on Y/n if he had to, it being the only camera she didn’t know about…almost…
He had just given Eliot his dinner when the midwife knocked on the door, Klaus checking the cameras to be sure even though he’d gotten an alert on his phone when she had driven up. ‘Thank God, I think she would have killed me if you hadn’t come.’ He joked but was half serious as he led her upstairs to the bedroom and gave Dantè his food as well as his wife her ice chips making her happy as she could currently get. She got her epidural and had Klaus alongside her as she got ready to push.
2 hours later they welcomed their daughter into the world, the midwife handing the bundle to Klaus first who felt an overwhelming need to protect the little girl in his arms more than even he thought possible before leaning down and handing his wife their daughter that they decided to name Riley.
The midwife stayed for another hour as Y/n fed Riley for the first time before she was gone leaving Klaus with a sleeping wife and baby before venturing back downstairs and finding exactly what he expected. His son was asleep on the couch with Scout snuggled beside him as Bluey played on the TV. The dog jumped up at Klaus’ arrival and followed them up to his bedroom where Klaus changed him and put him to bed.
He turned up the alarms that night, not falling asleep for quite a long while. He spent the rest of the night wondering what other safety precautions they should be taking and he decided that he needed to have a panic room installed in case of emergencies. He knew that convincing his wife was not going to be easy but it was worth it. He was content that night with his family in his bed (Eliot crawling in with Scout 2 hours later) knowing that they were all completely safe with him there as he would always be.
Nothing would ever come so close to hurting his family ever again! He would make sure of it.

a reason to move | k.m
⎯⎯“Even the cruelest nights end,” he murmurs, fingers tracing absent patterns along your arm. His touch is warm, a quiet tether to something beyond the emptiness. “You are allowed to wait for the dawn.”
warnings: depression
The room is dark. The kind of dark that feels alive, stretching from the corners like creeping ivy, winding its way into your chest, your limbs, your mind. The curtains have been drawn for days, filtering the world into nothing but a muted, grey haze. Dust floats in the stagnant air, catching in the weak slant of light that dares to intrude. Everything smells like stillness—like sleep and sorrow and the quiet decay of time slipping by unnoticed.
The sheets beneath you are tangled, twisted around your legs in a mess of forgotten movement. You can’t remember the last time you smoothed them out, the last time you cared to. It doesn’t matter. Nothing does, not really. The weight of your own existence presses into the mattress, heavy, immovable. Even breathing feels like a laborious task—something you do only because your body refuses to give in to the numbness swallowing you whole.
And then there’s Klaus.
He stands in the doorway, a silhouette against the dim light of the hall, arms crossed, gaze unreadable. He has been here before, watching from the threshold, gauging when to step in. He knows you too well to force anything. He’s seen you in every state imaginable—fierce, laughing, infuriated, exhausted—but this, this quiet unraveling, makes something tighten in his chest. He hates it, hates the way you shrink under the weight of something he cannot fight for you.
"Love," he murmurs, voice softer than you expected. "How long do you plan on staying buried?"
The words float in the silence, gentle yet pressing, like fingers trailing over an old wound. You don’t answer. It takes too much effort. Even turning your head to look at him feels impossible. You stare at the ceiling instead, at the cracks in the plaster, tracing their jagged lines like they hold some kind of answer.
Klaus exhales slowly, a sound full of something between frustration and understanding. Then, after a moment, he moves. The bed dips under his weight as he settles beside you, his presence a contrast to the cold stillness of the room. He doesn’t say anything at first. Just sits there, close but not intrusive, a steady, solid presence.
You can feel him watching you, feel the quiet way his eyes trace over your form—the sluggish rise and fall of your breath, the way your fingers are curled into the fabric of the sheets like an anchor. But he doesn’t push, doesn’t try to drag you from the depths before you’re ready.
Instead, Klaus simply reaches out, his hand finding yours where it lies limp on the bed. His fingers brush over your knuckles, slow, tentative. A silent reminder that he is here. That you are not alone, no matter how much the darkness might try to convince you otherwise.
And somehow, that touch—warm, grounding—feels like the first breath after drowning.
༊*·˚
The first thing he does is pull the curtains back. Not all the way—just enough for a sliver of daylight to break through the gloom, spilling onto the floor in a soft, golden streak. It is a quiet, unspoken compromise. He does not flood the room with brightness, does not force you to face the world all at once. Instead, he lets the light exist in the space with you, a hesitant guest in the suffocating darkness.
You flinch slightly at the shift, at the way the air seems to change with the presence of something other than shadows. It’s too much, and yet, not enough. A whisper of warmth against the cold numbness pressing in on you.
Then, Klaus disappears. You hear him moving beyond the doorway, the soft rustle of fabric, the faint sound of water running. He is gone just long enough for you to wonder if he will come back, but of course, he does.
When he returns, it is with a damp cloth in hand. Without a word, he sits beside you once more, his movements slow and deliberate. The mattress dips, his weight grounding you in the present.
You make a weak noise of protest as he presses the cloth to your forehead, cool against the feverish heat of your skin. It isn’t just sweat clinging to you—it’s exhaustion, fatigue, the residue of too many days spent drowning in your own mind.
"There we are," Klaus murmurs, brushing a stray hair back from your face, tucking it gently behind your ear. His touch is careful, reverent, as though afraid you might break beneath it.
You don’t answer. But the coolness feels nice, easing some of the discomfort coiled tightly within you.
His fingers linger for a moment, tracing over your temple with a tenderness you don’t have the strength to acknowledge. Then, he shifts, reaching for something else.
"Drink," he coaxes, bringing a glass of water to your lips. "Just a little."
You stare at it, at the way the condensation beads along the rim, the way his fingers wrap securely around the glass as if he knows you will refuse.
It is ridiculous how something as simple as lifting your head feels like climbing a mountain, how the idea of doing anything at all feels insurmountable. But Klaus does not rush you. He does not sigh in frustration or give you ultimatums. He simply waits, patient as ever, holding the glass steady.
After a long moment, you part your lips.
He tips the glass just enough for a sip, cool water slipping past your lips, running down your throat.
Just one sip.
But it is something.
And in a world where everything feels like too much or too little, something is enough.
༊*·˚
Klaus is not one for soft words or empty reassurances. He has never been the type to offer placating lies, never the sort to whisper false promises just to make the world feel easier to bear. No, he is all action, all quiet devotion, the kind that lingers in the smallest of gestures—the kind that does not demand recognition but offers itself freely.
He combs through your hair with careful fingers, untangling the strands with a patience that seems at odds with the chaos so often stitched into his being. His touch is slow, methodical, fingertips dragging lightly over your scalp, over the nape of your neck. There is something soothing about the way he does it, something steadying, as if he is grounding you through touch alone.
The blankets are a tangled mess around you, twisted from restless nights and too many hours spent lost in the haze of exhaustion. Klaus smooths them out without a word, tucking them back around you as if you are something fragile, something worth protecting. His knuckles ghost over your cheek in a barely-there caress, tracing the shape of you with a reverence that you are not sure you deserve. But he does it anyway. He commits you to memory, as if to remind you that you are here, that you exist.
He stays.
When you don’t feel like speaking, he doesn’t push. He does not fill the silence with questions or expectations. He does not try to fix what cannot be so easily mended.
But he understands that silence can be heavy, that it can press in like a weight upon the chest, suffocating and relentless. And so, when it stretches too long, he fills it—not with demands, but with the sound of his own voice, low and steady, a lull in the storm.
He speaks of the absurdity of the world, of its strange, fickle ways. He tells you about books he has read, words that have lingered in his mind long after the pages were closed. He weaves stories of art and music, of things that once made your eyes light up. There is no expectation for you to respond, no pressure for you to feign interest. He simply reminds you of what exists beyond this room, of what still waits for you beyond the fog.
And then, his voice softens, something distant creeping into the edges of it.
He tells you of the places he’s been, of the centuries he has walked, of the storms he has survived. He speaks of time, of how it wears down even the strongest of things, of how even he has felt the weight of it press against his ribs.
“Even the cruelest nights end,” he murmurs, fingers tracing absent patterns along your arm. His touch is warm, a quiet tether to something beyond the emptiness. “You are allowed to wait for the dawn.”
The words settle deep, pressing into the marrow of you.
And for the first time in a long while, you almost believe him.
༊*·˚
Here’s a much longer and deeper version, filled with more details, emotions, and the weight of the moment:
You don’t know when you sit up.
Maybe it’s when he suggests a bath, his voice carrying that particular lilt of mockery he so often wields as a weapon against your stubbornness. He leans against the bedpost, arms crossed, a smirk playing at the corner of his lips as he drawls, “You’re positively tragic, love. Even Romeo would think you’re overdoing it.”
You glare at him. It’s weak, half-hearted, but it’s something. And Klaus, ever the perceptive one, catches it instantly.
Or maybe it’s when he presses a warm cup of tea into your hands, the ceramic smooth against your skin, the steam curling softly into the cold air of the room. He doesn’t just give it to you and leave—no, his own hands wrap around yours, steadying them when they tremble ever so slightly. His fingers are warm, his grip firm but careful, as if grounding you in something tangible.
“Just a sip,” he coaxes, his voice softer now. “You needn’t do anything else.”
The warmth seeps into you, into your fingers, into your palms, spreading up your arms like something alive. It’s just tea. Just a simple thing. And yet, the weight of it, the care in the gesture, makes your throat feel tight.
Or maybe, just maybe, it’s the way he looks at you.
Not with pity. Not with impatience.
But with quiet understanding.
As if he’s been here, too. As if he knows what it is to feel lost within yourself, to wake up and find that the world has shifted just slightly beyond your grasp. As if he, too, has fought against that crushing, inescapable sense of nothingness.
You wonder, briefly, if he remembers what it was like to claw his way back.
"Come," he says finally, shifting closer. He doesn’t reach for you, doesn’t demand. He merely offers his hand, palm up, waiting. "Walk with me. Just to the window."
It’s stupid.
The window is only a few feet away. Just a few steps. Nothing, really. And yet—to you, it is an entire world’s distance. A chasm impossible to cross.
Your breath catches. You hesitate.
Klaus waits.
And yet—
You take his hand.
His fingers tighten around yours, firm and unwavering.
And that, somehow, is enough for now.
thank you to anon for this req! <3 I hope it brings you comfort <3

THE DARKNESS
Pairing(s): Kol Mikaelson x Salvatore!reader, Platonic!Mikaelsons x Salvatore!reader, Platonic!Salvatores x Sister!reader

Summary: The real reason you return to Mystic Falls is revealed to your brothers.
Warnings: Emotional Neglect? (on the Salvatore brothers side), Betrayal (duh), Blood, ANGST, Violence, Klaus getting dagger happy, Klaus being incredibly cruel and deranged (normal Klaus behavior), Reader is traumatized (because of Klaus), Reader isn’t really a good person, A lot of neck snapping, Katherine Pierce, Inaccurate historical depictions, Switches between past and present, Some timeline errors and changes, Uses of Y/N, Kol not showing up til like 2k words in, Inconsistencies in the tense it’s written in (what a shock.)
Notes: THIS WAS ORIGINALLY TITLED ‘THE ART OF BETRAYAL’ BEFORE I DECIDED ‘THE DARKNESS’ FIT BETTER!
Reader is ten, turning eleven when she meets Katherine. She isn’t turned into a vampire until she’s 19.
Pizzelles are an Italian cookie. (Yes, this is random. Yes, this is kind of important.)
Canonically Kol was daggered in 1821 because of his lovely iteration of Hamlet, he wasn’t undaggered until 1901. In this, we’ll say he was still daggered in 1821 but was undaggered some time before 1870. Again with the dagger stuff, Rebekah is canonically daggered until 1887 after all the Marcel thing, in this she was undaggered some time before 1870.
And finally, a big thank you to @wholoveseggs for all her support and encouragement while I’ve been writing this because without her, I probably wouldn’t have finished this!
Word Count: 16.3k (goodness gracious)
———————
Present Day
Mystic Falls
It had been one hundred and forty-six years since you had seen your brothers. Actually, it had been one hundred and forty-six years since they had seen you. You kept tabs on them over the years, always so close but not close enough for them to find you. As far as your brothers were concerned, you were dead and technically you were.
In truth, you didn’t want to see them but you had to. You had to for him.
So here you were, driving past the Mystic Falls welcome sign. Your jaw clenches at the sight of it, you hadn’t been here since 1864. Every fiber of your being was screaming at you to turn around, that you didn’t want to be back here, that it was going to hurt you. You shoved the feeling away and continued driving until you reached your destination.
The old Salvatore Boarding House, your old home.
You take a deep breath before walking up to the door. It’s wide open and you can hear Stefan and Damon arguing inside. Your best guess is Stefan tried to walk away from Damon by slamming the door on him and all it did was make Damon angrier and he flung it open.
You followed the yelling to the living room, they were so caught up in their argument that they hadn’t noticed you leaning on the door frame.
“I see you two still fight like cats and dogs… I’m sure this is about some silly girl,” you finally speak up, announcing your presence.
They both immediately stop and look at you.
“Who the hell are you?” Damon asks instantaneously and you couldn’t blame him, the last time he saw you, you were just a kid.
You pout, placing a hand over your heart, “that hurts Damon.”
Letting out a dramatic sigh you place your hands on your hips, “I guess that’s fair though… I mean, it has been a really long time, one hundred and forty-six years in fact and I was just a little kid then.”
“I was about this tall…” you gesture with your hand then gasp, bringing your hand to your mouth, “And the last time we spoke was in this house, in this room!”
Stefan’s eyes widened a bit, his face becoming one of shock and realization, “Y/N?” he whispers.
You smirk and Damon scoffs, “That's not possible, our sister is dead.”
“Well, you’re not wrong about that, though, I believe the proper term is undead—“
You’re cut off by Damon rushing at you, slamming you into the wall, and holding you up by your throat.
“Damon.” Stefan warns.
“This isn’t Y/N, Stefan! It can’t be! This is some sick imposter! I don’t know how they found out… but Y/N… she’s been dead for over a hundred years!”
You knee him in the stomach, causing him to double over and drop you, “Undead.”
Damon grunts, stumbling back but he quickly recovers, “Okay, let’s say you are our sister… Why now, huh?! Why find us now, after a hundred some years?!” he shouts.
You scoff, standing up straight, “Because I saw you both die! I saw father shoot you both dead! You remember that night right? The night you both tried to save Katherine? The night you were turned?”
You paused for a moment, directing your next words to Damon, “The night you told me I wasn’t your sister anymore.”
You knew being back here would be hard, you knew it would hurt. What you didn’t expect was for Damon to seemingly forget everything that happened in 1864. He looked away from you causing you to scoff.
“That woman ruined our family the moment she stepped foot in Mystic Falls.”
1864
Mystic Falls
You stood next to Stefan, rocking back and forth on your heels as you watched the carriage approach.
Your father had told you that a woman was coming to stay with you all, a woman named Katherine Pierce. You were excited for her arrival, you loved Stefan, Damon, and occasionally your father but you were ecstatic to have another girl around.
The carriage opened and two women got out, you followed Stefan down the stairs, standing right next to him.
“You must be Miss Pierce,” your brother says with his hands still behind his back.
Miss Pierce smirks, “Please,” she reaches her hand out for him to take, which he does, “Call me Katherine.”
They stare at each other for a moment, seemingly having a silent conversation before you interrupt, “Hello!”
Katherine seems taken aback by the sudden voice but puts on a smile, “And who might you be?”
“Y/N!”
Stefan chuckles and places his hand onto your shoulder, “This is my little sister, father jokes that she’s my shadow,” your brother teases, “She’d be following Damon around as well but he’s off at war.”
You frown at the mention of your other brother, not noticing the way Katherine’s gaze hardens.
Katherine would grow close with Stefan over the next weeks and unfortunately for you, she made it abundantly clear that she didn’t like you. You couldn’t figure out why but Stefan continually reassured you that Katherine had no problems with you so you tried to let it go.
Then after some time, Damon returned home and you were overjoyed. You had always been close with your brothers, they were practically your only friends. You had been lonely since Katherine had arrived due to Stefan’s infatuation, you hoped now that Damon was back you wouldn’t be so lonely.
“Damon!” you cheered upon seeing him, “Day! You’re back!”
He chuckles, “That I am!”
You rush to hug him which he quickly reciprocates, patting your head. But his gaze focused elsewhere.
“Who is she?” he points.
You turn to see who he’s looking at and sigh, “That is Miss Katherine Pierce, she’s been staying with us for some time now.”
You beckon Damon to lean down so you could whisper in his ear, “I think Stefan may be in love with her.”
Your eldest brother raises a brow and stands up straight, “Hm? Well… I suppose I should introduce myself to our guest…”
Just like that, Damon was infatuated as well. It was as if Katherine was a siren and both your brothers had been tricked by her song.
You watched Katherine as she led on both your brothers, knowing that at least one of them would be getting a broken heart. Though, you had a feeling they’d both end up heartbroken.
The one event that really broke you was when both your brothers were nowhere to be seen on your birthday, and when you did find them it was like they had no idea what the day was.
You hated Katherine, but you weren’t scared of her. Until you saw her true face.
You knew what she was, a vampire. Your father had told you stories about vampires, they’re evil monsters. He told you if you ever even heard whispers of a vampire that you had to tell him and he’d take care of it.
So you told him and he came up with a plan that you would enact within the week.
“What is that delicious smell?” Damon asks as he walks into the kitchen.
You let out a little laugh, “I baked cookies! Would you like one?”
“I’d love one,” Damon takes one of the cookies from the tray, patting your head as he did.
The first step of the plan was complete, now all you had to do was sit back and wait.
It wouldn’t take long for Katherine to come back to the boarding house with Stefan, he goes and sits on the couch while Katherine begins to go upstairs. She turns to give Damon a look and he immediately rushes to follow her up the stairs.
Moments later there’s a scream, followed by shouting from your father, Damon, and some men you don’t know. Stefan is off the couch quickly and at the steps immediately.
Multiple men are dragging Katherine down the stairs while Damon yells at your father. Stefan stands in shock as you reach his side. Katherine is taken out of the house by the men and put into a guarded carriage. Your father holds Damon to the wall as the carriage leaves your home, finally, his eyes land on you and he lets go of Damon, rushing to you, he places a kiss on your head.
“You were right, my dear. You did good.”
With that, he rushes out the door to the carriage, leaving you alone with your brothers.
Stefan’s voice is quiet, “You know what she is…”
“And you told father!” Damon shouts.
“She’s a monster Damon!” you yell.
He scoffs, “You don’t know what you’re talking about! You’re ten! A child!”
Your frown, “My birthday was a month ago Damon… I’m eleven… or have you forgotten?”
“It doesn’t matter! How you could be so cruel… I don't understand… I don’t recognize you… you’re no sister of mine. Not anymore.”
“Damon!” Stefan yells.
Damon shakes his head, shoving past you to the door, “Let’s go Stefan! If we’re quick we can save her!”
And just like that, they rush out of the house without sparring you a second glance. They didn’t know it at the time, but moments later you would run out of the house after them.
Present Day
Mystic Falls
“I never went back home… it wouldn’t be home if you were both dead... So I ran and ran and didn’t look back… I travelled all over… never staying in one place for too long.”
Stefan steps forward and pulls you into a tight hug and you allow him too. It had been a century since you had hugged anyone, you almost forgot how to. He pulls away to get a better look at your face, how you’ve grown since he last saw you.
“How old are you? Physically?”
“It’s rude to ask a woman’s age, Stef…” you giggle before giving an actual answer, “Nineteen, I was turned in 1872… which I guess makes me your big sister.”
He chuckles, “I don’t think that’s how it works.”
Damon crosses his arms, “How’d you turn?”
“Willingly, if that’s what you’re asking… my boyfriend at the time turned me, we wanted to spend forever together.”
“Ironic, sounds a lot like my story with Katherine.”
You furrow your brows, “What are you trying to say?”
“I’m saying, you’re a hypocrite.”
You scoff and Damon takes that as his signal to continue, “Where is this boyfriend of yours now?”
You squeeze your eyes shut, “He’s gone.”
“Gone?”
“Dead.” you lie.
“I’m sorry Y/N,” Stefan smiles softly, placing a hand on your shoulder.
Suddenly, the floorboards creak causing all of you to look at the sound. There she stood, Elena Gilbert.
“Oh… I’m sorry I didn’t realize you had company…” She clears her throat, “Uh… Stefan, you called me?”
Thinking quickly, you speed away from Stefan and slam the girl into the wall. You weren’t dumb, you knew who she was and you knew she wasn’t Katherine but your brothers didn’t know that you knew. Everything would be fine as long as you didn’t kill her, he wouldn’t mind if she was roughed up a bit.
“You keep the bitch around?! After everything?!”
Stefan and Damon sped to your side, Damon ripping you away from her.
You scoff, “You still protect her!”
“This isn’t Katherine,” Stefan says before pulling Elena to him, the girl holding her throat.
“Looks exactly like her!”
Damon rolls his eyes, pulling you farther away, “We know. We have eyes. It’s weird, some weird, freaky nature thing but she’s not Katherine. Smell her, she’s human.”
You turn your attention to Stefan and Elena who are both looking at you, waiting for your next move. Stefan is ready to jump in front of Elena to save her, you almost roll your eyes but resist, this would be like 1864 all over again.
You walk over to them, slowly, tilting your head at Elena.
“I’m Elena…Elena Gilbert.”
You give her a half smile, “Y/N. Sorry.”
You hold out your hand for her to take, which she does after looking at Stefan to make sure you were safe.
“This happens a lot, you’d be surprised…”
“No, I wouldn’t be. Katherine’s a bitch. A lot of people want her dead,” you pause, “Consider getting a tattoo on your forehead,” you brush your pointer finger and thumb across your forehead, “‘Not Katherine’.”
Elena giggles, “In size forty font.”
You crack a smile, she seemed sweet, you almost felt bad about what was going to happen, almost.
“You’re a friend of Stefan and Damon’s?”
“I’m their sister,” you smirk, chuckling at the shocked expression on her face.
“Our sister who we thought was dead up until about five minutes ago,” Damon adds, still suspicious of you.
“I didn’t know you were alive either until I heard rumors from some vampires that fled from here…” another lie.
Stefan and Damon share a look and you look between them, “What?” You ask.
“The tomb vampires.”
Stefan pats your back, “C’mon, we got a lot of catching up to do.”
“Well, this is lovely but are we going to discuss what we’re here for?” A new voice cuts in, she looks familiar but you can’t quite place her.
Elena on the other hand looks terrified, “You…”
“Like he said, a lot of catching up to do,” the woman smiles.
You all sat down in the living room while the woman who you learned to be Rose began to pace back and forth while speaking, “Okay, you have to understand, I only know what I’ve picked up over the years- and I don’t know what’s true and what’s not. That’s the problem with all this vampire crap but Klaus I know is real.”
You keep your expression neutral, you had been told the story of Katerina Petrova, Katherine Pierce as you knew her and how she escaped her death by Klaus and Elijah both. That’s why this woman was familiar, she had played a role in the escape.
“Who is he?” Elena asks.
Damon speaks up, “He’s one of the originals. He’s a legend,” he widens his eyes for dramatic flair.
”From the first generation of vampires,” Stefan gestures with his glass.
“Like Elijah?”
Rose sighs, dropping her shoulders, “No, Elijah is the Easter Bunny compared to Klaus. He’s a foot soldier, Klaus is the real deal.”
You look down to hide the smile on your face, Elijah? The Easter Bunny? Now that was a funny joke.
“Klaus is known to be the oldest…” Stefan adds and that almost makes you giggle.
“So…” Elena begins, “You're saying the oldest vampire in the history of time is coming after me?”
Well, not the oldest.
“Yes.”
“No.”
Damon sighs, standing up, “No, what they’re saying is, I mean, if what she’s saying is true—“
“Which it is,” Rose cuts in.
“—And you’re not just saying this so we don’t kill you…”
“Which I’m not.”
Damon sighs, “Then… we’re looking at a solid maybe?”
“Look,” Stefan says, going to sit next to Elena, “Elijah’s dead so no one else even knows you exist.”
This makes you look up, unless these idiots found a white oak stake, Elijah was not dead, he was simply resting and he’d be pissed when he got back. You only hoped that he’d stay clear of you, you still held a soft spot for the man and you didn’t want to rat him out, but you would if you had to.
“Not that you know of,” Rose adds.
“That’s not helping…” Damon mutters.
“I’ve never even met anyone who has laid eyes on him, we’re talking centuries of truth mixed with fiction!” Stefan argues, “For all we know he could just be some sort of stupid bedtime story…” he looks at Elena, trying to reassure her that she’s safe.
Rose scoffs, “He’s real and he doesn’t give up. If he wants something, he gets it.” Well ain’t that the truth.
“If you’re not afraid of Klaus then you’re an idiot.” Rose adds. Also true.
“Well, what about you little sister?” Damon asks, gesturing to you, “You ever heard of Klaus?”
“No.” Yes. “I doubt he’s even real.” He’s very real.
“You mentioned you traveled a lot,” Stefan looks at you, “You’ve never heard of the original vampires?”
“Never.”
1870
New Orleans
You had showered off all of the blood, trying to rid yourself of the horrible memory. Why was it that vampires seemed to be everywhere you went? And now you were staying in a house with not one, but four vampires.
Sighing, you get out of the shower and change into the outfit Elijah had provided for you, it was a simple night gown, reaching past your knees. You find your way to the guest room that Elijah had shown you and curl into the bed, unable to sleep. You stay in that position all night, not getting even a wink of rest.
When morning comes, you make your way downstairs to the living room, “Elijah?” you call out softly, knowing that he’d be able to hear even the faintest of whispers.
There’s a whoosh behind you causing you to spin around on your heel, expecting to see Elijah but you don’t. A man stands by the couch, smirking.
”I see my brother has taken to copying me. Bringing home his very own charity case,” the man announces as he drops down on the couch to sit, urging you to sit down as well, you do in fear of upsetting him.
You fidget with your hands out of nervousness and he cracks a smile.
“No need to be scared, love. I’m Klaus…” he holds a hand out for you to take and you do, rather reluctantly.
When you don’t say anything, he continues, “Did my brother say something about me?”
You shake your head, “No, not you.”
“Oh? Not me? Did he say anything about my other siblings, do tell me. I’m just dying to know.”
You look around the room before turning back to him, “He said I should be careful around Kol…”
“Ah, my little brother, yes, he can be quite reckless… and rather… insatiable…”
“Are you talking badly about me to our new guest?” a voice that you assume belongs to Kol fills the room.
Klaus clicks his tongue, holding back a laugh, “No, no, little brother. Simply warning the girl of your tendencies…”
Kol scoffs, before leaning over the back of the couch, his chin practically touching your shoulder as he whispers to you, “Don’t listen to him, darling… or Elijah for that matter.”
You jump a bit and tilt your head away from him, inadvertently giving the vampire easy access to your neck. He chuckles and surprisingly, leans away.
“Don’t tempt me.”
“Kol! Elijah already said you’re to leave her alone!” a blonde girl comes bouncing into the room, pulling Kol further away from you.
In a flash she’s in front of you, holding her hand out for you to take, “I’m Rebekah! It’ll be nice to have another girl around!”
She then looks you up and down, taking in your current outfit, “Now this just won’t do, come now,” she reaches her other hand out for you and when you take it she pulls you off of the couch.
She quickly begins to pull you towards the stairs just as Elijah comes back into the room, he sighs upon seeing you and his sister.
“Do not overwhelm the poor girl, Rebekah.”
“Relax Elijah, I’m only going to get her a change of clothes… and we must do something with this hair!” she twirls a piece of your hair.
And with that, Rebekah practically drags you up to her room.
“Sit.” she guides you to a vanity chair, “You’ve got gorgeous features but this hair… this dress… they are not doing you any favors…”
Your face flushes, “Oh, I haven’t had much money for clothing let alone food… It's been hard to find work and I never really learned how to do my own hair… my brother used to do it for me and he’d allow me to braid his… I just can’t seem to do so when it’s my own head.”
Rebekah smiles softly, “You needn’t worry, I have plenty of options for you!” she rushes to her closet, opening it to reveal a plethora of different dresses.
She holds up a gown with a bit of lace detailing that goes up to the neck, “This will do nicely. Much better than this night gown…” she says as she brushes the sleeve of the dress you currently wore.
She hands you the gown, “Go now,” she points to the bathrooom, “get dressed and I’ll do your hair!”
You do as she says and come back, having her help you tie the back.
“Now, let’s fix this hair.” she pushes you back down into the chair, “Would you like a braid?”
You nod, “That would be lovely…”
Rebekah hums, “You said your brother used to do your hair… Where is he now?”
Your eyes widen a bit before you look down, “Oh, uhm, he’s dead… That’s why I ran from home…”
“You’re a runaway?”
You crack a smile, trying to be as confident as possible, “Was my ratty appearance and lack of cash not enough to give that away?”
Rebekah chuckles, “I suppose… were you always poor?” she asks, nonchalantly.
“Oh Heavens no. My family was very wealthy… the wealthiest family in our town. My father was a landowner.”
“You didn’t think to take any money before running?” She raises a brow.
“I was only eleven at the time and had just witnessed… something awful…” you take a deep breath, you hadn’t ever spoken about this out loud, “I needed to get away.”
Rebekah frowns, dropping your hair, “Elijah said you’re seventeen, you’ve been on your own for six years?”
You nod and Rebekah’s frown deepens, “That’s a long time to be alone… that must have been awful.”
“I’ve managed,” you shrug, “I went back once, a week after I had left when I got second thoughts… I found out that my father had also passed. I came across a newspaper, they believed that someone had killed my father and taken me…”
“He was killed?”
You hum, and Rebekah picks up your hair again.
“Did they ever catch his killer?”
“No… but I have a suspicion it was a vampire.”
“Why would you think that?” she asks as she finishes your braid.
“His head was nearly ripped off.”
A few days later, Klaus found you. Elijah was dealing with other matters so he wasn’t there to monitor his brother's behavior.
You were alone when he found you, in the kitchen. Baking was something that you enjoyed doing at your old home and after running away you hadn’t been able to. Elijah welcomed you to use the kitchen and bake whatever you’d like, saying he wanted to make sure you felt comfortable during your stay.
“Not too broken up about your father being murdered?”
The sudden voice causes you to jump, spilling the cup of sugar you were holding.
“You startled me,” you sigh, beginning to clean up the sugar.
“You’re easy to frighten,” in a second, Klaus is directly next to you, making you yelp, he smirks, “Now answer the question.”
“What?”
“Your father…” he practically circles you, “You think a vampire killed him? You didn’t seem too sad about it.”
“I… it was six years ago… wait, you were listening when I was talking to Rebekah?”
Klaus hums, “Six years is not that long,” he ignores your question, besides, you already knew the answer. “Well, to a vampire at least. I suppose I could buy that if your heart wasn’t racing.”
You let out a breath, “Klaus—“
“Yes yes, I know Elijah has told you to stay clear of me even if you deny it…”
“That’s not—“
“You didn’t like your father!” he exclaims, making your eyes widen, “I’ve figured it out, huh? What was so awful about the man? Do tell.”
You scowl, you knew you shouldn’t mouth off to the vampires but Klaus was testing your patience, “Not that it’s any of your business but, he… he killed my brothers.”
“Brothers? Plural? Interesting, you only mentioned one to Rebekah. You’re lying to us now?”
“I- No! I only mentioned the one that did my hair! I didn’t lie!”
“Withholding the truth then,” he smirks.
You sigh, “Elijah knows everything already, I’ve told him everything. I haven’t lied, both my brothers fell for a vampire- my father got involved…” tears begin to prick the corners of your eyes, “…he ended up killing them both… I assume the vampire- that she got away, that she killed my father… that’s why I’ve been alone.” tears begin to stain your cheeks.
You sniffle, rubbing at your eyes when the door opens. Klaus has a sheepish expression when Elijah enters the room.
“Niklaus,” he practically hisses, “What did you do?”
“Nothing! I simply asked the girl a few questions!”
Elijah narrows his eyes, “I’m sure.”
You went upstairs and stayed there for the rest of the day, trying to avoid everyone. You were deep in thought when Kol’s voice startled you.
“My brother made you cry? He does tend to have that effect on women.”
Kol chuckles, and you turn to see him leaning against the doorframe of the room Elijah has you staying in. Your eyes widen and you turn your back to him, probably not your best move considering he’s a vampire but Elijah had told you to stay away. It was bad enough that you had spoken to him earlier but at least then his siblings were around, now you truly were alone.
“Like I said darling, you needn't be scared.”
“Elijah told me not to speak with you, he wouldn’t have told me that for no reason.”
Kol scoffs, “He’s always so dramatic.”
You don’t respond and Kol sighs, “I’ll go if you want, I simply wanted to make sure Nik didn’t upset you too badly… you’re too pretty to be upset over him.”
You blush, he sounds genuine but you couldn’t trust it. You also didn’t want to upset Elijah, he was the one who was giving you a home after all. He could easily kick you out and back onto the street to fend for yourself.
“I’d just like to be left alone… please.”
You hummed mindlessly in the kitchen, swaying while you baked. It had been three months since the Mikaelsons had allowed you into their home, Elijah promised he would find you your own home soon enough but he had been so busy with other duties.
You didn’t mind, you had grown used to living in their home. Ironically, living in the house of deadly original vampires had been the safest you had ever felt. The Mikaelsons had completely changed your opinion of vampires in just a few, short months. Rebekah had become a close friend of yours, Klaus had stopped his frequent questioning and began to see you as a friend (he never apologized but you knew he felt bad when he gifted you a necklace), and Kol… well… Kol was complicated.
After he had checked on you that day, you became curious about him. Elijah’s warnings only did so much to curb your curiosity. At first you had listened, avoided Kol at all costs but there was just something about him that kept pulling you in.
You would often find your mind wandering back to him. His face, his hair, his eyes, his cheshire-like grin…
Kol was determined to get you to break your walls down, he would find you all the time, whether you were painting like Nik had taught you, braiding your hair like Rebekah, or even just laying in your bed. He would find you and you’d just chat.
You brought up Kol to Elijah once, you wanted to know what was so horrible about him because when he was with you, he was sweet. Elijah wouldn’t give you a clear answer, just reminded you that he was dangerous. You wouldn’t mention how much time you had begun to spend with Kol to Elijah, in fear of making him upset.
But he found out, just like you knew he would.
“Miss Y/N, may I speak with you?” Elijah asks as he enters the kitchen.
You turn to look at him, just having finished the dough for the cookies you were making, “Of course, Elijah.”
“I notice you have become quite close with Kol as of late.”
You gulp, looking down, feeling guilty, Elijah had asked one thing of you and you weren’t even able to do that.
“I’m sorry, I know I—“
Elijah holds up his hand to silence you, “Please.”
You let out a shaky breath and Elijah lowers his hand, “I’ve never seen my little brother care for someone like he cares for you… especially after such a short amount of time. You… you’re good for him. He’s changed… so no more of this sneaking around like children,” he waves his hand to gesture around.
Your face flushes, “Oh we’re not… we’re just… we’re not together…”
Elijah smirks, giving you a knowing look, “I never said anything about a relationship.”

New Orleans
“What are you reading?” Kol asks as he drops onto the couch, sitting next to you.
“Frankenstein,” you hum, not bothering to look up from the book, turning a page.
Kol nods, “I’ve heard of that one…”
You two sit in silence for a moment before Kol sighs dramatically. You close your eyes, composing yourself when Kol sighs again. You mark your page and close the book, finally turning to look at him.
“What Kol?”
He shrugs, “I’m bored.”
“Bored?”
“Very.”
You sigh, “Can I at least finish my chapter before we go off to cause whatever chaos you have planned?”
Kol rolls his eyes, “Fine,” he draws out the word.
Just as you’re about to pick up the book again, Kol drops his head into your lap, laying across the couch.
You tense up immediately, “Kol. What are you doing?”
“Waiting for you to finish your chapter, darling,” he mumbles, “Your thighs are very comfortable.”
You sigh, forcing yourself to relax, it wasn’t that you didn’t enjoy his touch or him being this close, it was that it made you nervous. You were falling for Kol, you knew you were and every touch, no matter how small, made you nervous. Touching was common with Kol, you had a feeling it was how he showed affection.
It didn’t take long for you to finish your chapter, “Kol,” you say quietly but get no response.
Your brows furrow and you look closer at him in your lap, he was breathing evenly, his eyes closed. He was asleep. He looked peaceful, and if you didn’t know any better you’d say he looked innocent and angelic.
You weighed your options, you could wake him up and put distance between the two of you… or you could let him sleep, curled in your lap, while you read another chapter.
You decided on the second option and it definitely had nothing to do with the fact you wanted to keep him so close.
It was calm, everything about the moment was so domestic. You wished you could stay here forever, reading a novel while an original vampire laid asleep on you as you brushed your fingers through his hair.
Unfortunately, no nice thing could last.
The door to the compound flung open, angry footsteps filling the silence.
“Niklaus, wait a moment. Let us think about this.”
“There is nothing to think about!”
Kol tenses in your lap at the loud voices, stirring in his sleep. He sits up, forcing the sleep from his eyes.
Klaus enters the living room, glaring daggers at you. You don’t seem to pick up on his angry gaze, “Did you get it?” you ask excitedly.
You had mentioned a few weeks ago that your mother had a cookbook that contained all of your family's recipes. After she died, the book remained in the study of the boarding house. You were sad, you wanted the book back because you couldn’t remember any of the recipes and Elijah had offered to go get it for you.
You told him not to be ridiculous and that he’d have to travel the whole way to Mystic Falls to get it, he seemed to tense a bit at the name but insisted nonetheless. So you told him about the boarding house and where he would find it, Klaus insisted on accompanying him.
“Yes.” Klaus answers coldly, dropping the book onto the coffee table.
You squeal and lean forward grabbing the book, “Thankyou!” you begin to flip through it, “You have no idea how much this means to me…” you look up, trailing off when you finally notice the look on Klaus’ face.
“We found something else too,” his tone is detached as he tosses a picture onto the coffee table.
You recognized the photo instantly, it had been taken shortly after Katherine arrived in Mystic Falls. It was of you, Stefan, and Katherine. The three of you had smiles on your faces, though, it was obvious Katherine’s was fake.
“Her,” he points to Katherine.
“What?”
“Don't play dumb with me,” Klaus practically growls, “This is the vampire you mentioned?”
You gulp, nodding, “I- yes, that’s Katherine…”
“Katherine?” Elijah muses, “Is that the name she’s using now?”
You didn’t miss the subtle way that Kol slid forward on the couch, or the way he placed his hand on your thigh, attempting to hide you behind his arm, to shield you from Klaus’ fury.
“Where is she?” Klaus keeps his gaze locked onto you.
“I don’t know… I haven’t seen her since I ran from home…”
Kol squeezes your thigh to try and calm you down, to reassure you that he wouldn’t let Klaus hurt you even if he tried. You were grateful for him and Elijah, Klaus was impulsive at times, especially if he thought he was being betrayed.
After a considerable amount of time, Klaus had calmed down. He and Elijah explained the story of Katerina to you, how she had escaped her death, and how Klaus wanted her to be scared before he killed her. How he wanted her to suffer.
Just like last time, Klaus didn’t apologize, the day after you found three books on your nightstand, Pride and Prejudice, Little Women, and Les Miserables.
A few weeks had passed since the Mikaelsons found out about your history with Katherine. And you all went on with life like nothing had happened, Klaus would occasionally ask about Katherine and you would always answer his questions. Katherine was why your brothers were dead. Katherine was the reason you hated vampires. And the Mikaelsons were the reason you didn’t anymore.
“My mother used to make these when I was little… this is actually her recipe- well, my great grandmother's recipe,” you tell Kol as he watches you close the pizzelle iron.
He hums, reaching for one that’s cooling, “In all my life, I’ve never had one of these…”
Your eyes light up, “Oh! I’ve been meaning to ask you this! I know you eat my baked goods… but does human food actually taste good to you?”
Kol tilts his head, “I’ve told you numerous times, darling, you’re an excellent baker…”
“But that’s not what I asked, I wish to know if you enjoy them…”
“Your treats are delectable… as are you,” Kol flirts, leaning closer.
Your face heats up at his comment, “Flattery will get you nowhere, Kol Mikaelson.”
“No?” he raises a brow, his face just inches from yours.
“Well, maybe somewhere…” you whisper, your gaze flickers to his lips.
He smirks, “And where would that be?”
“You tell me…”
The tension between the two of you was thick, it had been for a few months now but nothing had come of it. The two of you danced around each other and your obvious feelings, Rebekah would tease you about it, often remarking on how you could do better than her brother.
Just as his lips were about to brush against yours he pulled back, “Darling…”
“Yes, Kol?”
“The iron.”
Your eyes widen and you quickly turn back to the pizzelle iron, standing up from your chair, opening it quickly, coughing a bit as the smoke hits you directly in the face. You use the tongs to toss the burnt cookies onto the cooling rack as Kol doubles over in laughter.
You glare at him, before letting out a small laugh, “You distracted me! This is your fault!”
He smirks, standing up to his full height, wrapping an arm around your waist to pull you close, “I’m a distraction?”
“Yes… you are.”
He presses a kiss to your temple and hums, “Too bad you’re stuck with me…”
You pull away a bit to look up at him, “You think?”
Kol stares at you, debating internally about what to say, “I think… no, I know,” he takes a deep breath, “…that I have completely fallen in love with you, Y/N Salvatore…”
A smile appears on your face, “Well I know that I am utterly in love with you as well, Kol Mikaelson…”
He smiles before capturing your lips in a soft but passionate kiss. The arm around your waist tightens, he pulls you impossibly close and you loop your arms around his neck.
A low whistle followed by clapping causes the two of you to break apart, Kol didn’t let you get too far though, still keeping his hand on your waist.
“Took you long enough,” Klaus smirks.
You cover your face with your face with your hands, completely embarrassed but Kol just seems annoyed by the interruption.
“Is there something you need Nik?” Kol asks, rolling his eyes.
“I was just wondering what that burning smell was, wouldn’t want our lovely home to burn down. But I see now our little baker was just… preoccupied…”
“Rebekah!” Klaus shouts, causing your eyes to widen.
“Nik no!” you retort, peaking through your fingers, but you knew it was too late.
“What the bloody hell do you want now?” Rebekah asks as she walks into the room.
Klaus smirks and then gestures towards you and Kol by tilting his head. Rebekah immediately notices the hand around your waist and gasps.
“Finally! I thought you two would be dancing around each other forever!” she squeals.
“What is all this shouting about?” Elijah asks, entering the room while adjusting his cufflinks.
Kol pinches the bridge of his nose before leaning over to whisper to you, fully aware his siblings could still hear him, “It’s like they all come out of the woodwork at the most inopportune times…”
Elijah spots the cooling racks of pizzelles and makes his way over, immediately picking up one of the burnt cookies. He holds it up and raises a brow at you, waiting for an answer.
Klaus begins to cackle, speeding over to Elijah to take the charred cookie from him, “Brother, Y/N got distracted…” he points at Kol, “the distraction.”
Elijah lets out a little chuckle, clearly amused, “Yes, well, try not to get distracted in the kitchen… we eat in here.”

“Are you sure this is what you want?” Kol holds your face in his hands.
“More than anything… I want to be with you.”
Kol chuckles, “My darling, you’re already with me, you already have me.”
He takes your hands and places them over his heart, “This dead heart belongs to you.”
You giggle a bit at his words and he smiles before frowning, “I just… I don’t want you to think you have to do this for me…”
You smile softly, “I know, but this is what I want, I promise…”
“Then it’s a good thing I’ve already had my witches make you a ring… a gorgeous ring for a gorgeous girl, my gorgeous girl…”
You giggle again and pull him in for a kiss which he quickly reciprocates. After a moment he forces himself to pull away. He scoots til his back is against the headboard then pulls you so you’re sitting with your back against his chest.
Kol brings his wrist to his mouth, fangs protruding and bites into his own flesh before holding his wrist near your mouth for you to take. Both your hands grab onto him, pulling his wrist as close to your mouth as physically possible and begin to drink from him.
He groans at the sensation and brushes some of the hair from your face, “Atta girl… that’s it… just a little more… good…”
When Kol decides you’ve had enough he pulls away, chuckling at the way you try to follow his now healing wrist, “My, my, already so bloodthirsty…”
You look up at him and pout, some of his blood dripping from your lips. He could get used to sight of you and blood, his two favorite things, together. He gives you another kiss, tasting his own blood from your mouth.
Pulling back, he sighs, “This is the part I don’t like.”
You lean up and kiss his cheek, “You’re the only one I’d trust to do this… it’s okay, my love, it’s what I want.”
Reluctantly, Kol brings his hand up to your neck, “I love you, my darling.”
“I love you… now please, kill me.”
He winces at the sound of your neck breaking, squeezing his eyes shut. He lays in your bed, holding your body, brushing the hair from your face while softly humming until you wake up.
Present Day
Mystic Falls
You stare at your daylight ring, spinning it on your finger.
“Y/N… Y/N… Y/N!” Damon snaps his fingers in front of your face to gain your attention.
You jump and look at him and then at Stefan, now noticing that Elena left.
“Are you alright?” Stefan asks, tilting his head.
“I’m fine… just… lost in thought.”
Damon’s gaze stays focused on your ring, “Is that your daylight ring?”
You hum, looking up at him and then at Stefan, before holding your hand up to show off the ring, “I know, it’s not nearly as gaudy as yours.”
Stefan chuckles but Damon narrows his eyes, “It’s not a wedding ring,” he notes.
“No…” you state but it sounds more like a question.
“So the guy can ask you to die and be forced to drink blood for the rest of eternity but he can’t get down on one knee and pop the question?”
“Damon…” Stefan sighs, they had just gotten you back and he was worried that all of Damon’s passive aggressive comments were going to drive you away again.
You scoff, “He didn’t ask me to do anything, it was my choice. I wanted this. We… we didn’t need to be married to be in love… it just wasn’t the right time for a wedding anyways…”
Stefan seems a little shocked, “You asked him to turn you?”
Before you can respond to Stefan, Damon interrupts, “This was your first boyfriend?”
“He was my first everything,” you state matter-of-factly.
Both Stefan and Damon groan in disgust at your words and the implication of them.
You roll your eyes, “Oh grow up.”
Stefan stands up, “And on that note, I’m going to school… make sure Elena’s okay…”
You fake pout, “You don’t wanna hang out with your sister after not seeing her for so long?”
“That’s not—“
You cut him off, “Relax Stef, I’m kidding. Go.”
He gives you a curt nod and heads out of the room, leaving you alone with Rose and Damon. You almost forgot Rose was here, she had been quiet ever since she had finished her speech about Klaus. Damon gives Rose a look and she nods, leaving the room.
“I thought you hated vampires,” Damon states, taking the spot on the couch where Stefan once was.
“I did… until I met him.” Them.
Damon stays quiet for a moment, his eyes soften a bit, “This guy must have been special.”
You squeeze your eyes shut, “He was… I really loved him, Damon. I really do still love him…”
Your brother sighs, scooching closer to you on the couch. He wraps an arm around your shoulder and pulls you to him.
“I am happy to have you back, you know… it’s just… you’re not the same kid I left behind, you’ve grown so much, to me you’re still the little girl whose hair I used to braid…”
“It’s okay, Day… I get it… I do,” you smile, using the nickname you used to call him as a child.
He ruffles your hair, “Why don’t we go out, I’ll show you around town… it’s practically the same, just modern.”
“I… uhm…” you sigh, “I’m tired to be honest, I traveled a long way to get here… and I think all the ‘excitement’ just made me even more tired…”
He nods, “Alright, I’m assuming you want your same room, you remember where it is?”
You stand up from the couch, “How could I forget?”
You leave Damon on the couch, making your way to the stairs. You take note of Rose who was standing near the kitchen doorway, she had clearly been listening to your conversation. There was no such thing as privacy with vampires.
Your room was exactly as you had left it, you could tell that no one had even entered the room in years. If you had to guess, you’d say that the last ones to enter were Klaus and Elijah— they had also retrieved your favorite teddy bear on their mission to get the cook book. There was dust floating around and cobwebs everywhere. You let out a sigh just as Damon makes his way up the stairs to you, he must have remembered the state of your room.
“No one’s been in there since…”
“I know,” you cut him off.
“We didn’t want to disturb it…”
You sigh, “Can I just… have another room for now?”
He nods and leads you down the hall to one of the guest rooms that had been maintained over the years, “I can get you extra blankets? Extra pillows?”
You shake your head, walking further into the room and sit on the bed, “This is fine.”
”Alright, well, I’ll let you sleep,” as he’s about to leave, his hand goes to the light switch to turn it off.
In a second, you’re off of the bed. You grab his hand causing him to groan in pain, you were sure you broke fingers but you didn’t care. You couldn’t let him turn off the light.
“Ow!”
You let go after a second, “I… I’m sorry…” you mumble.
“Jesus! If you didn’t want it off you could have said that!” he waves his hand around, wincing as his fingers snap themselves back into place.
You just blink at him, and he sighs, “Just get some rest.”
He reaches for the door this time, you grab it as it’s about to close and he stops, “Yeah?”
“Don’t close the door.”
Damon raises a brow, “You want the light on and the door open?”
You nod, “Please…”
“You can sleep like that?”
“It’s the only way I can sleep.”
Damon goes to open his mouth, but quickly shuts it, deciding that for once in his life he should just be quiet. He nods and leaves it at that, you let out of a sigh when goes, dropping down onto the guest bed.
You want to close your eyes but you can’t. It’s too dark.
Stefan eventually returns and finds Damon sipping on bourbon as usual.
“Our sister is strange,” Damon announces the second Stefan steps foot in the door.
Stefan sighs, “Alright, I’ll bite. What happened?”
Damon sets down his glass, “She’s upstairs, sleeping.”
“Okay?”
“With the door open, the curtains open, and the light on.”
“Damon, just leave it alone.”
The older Salvatore scoffs, “Come on Stefan, that’s weird.”
Stefan shrugs, “I didn’t say it wasn’t. I just said to leave it alone. We just got her back, literally today and if you keep pushing like you always do, you’re going to push her away. Again.”
“Don’t act like this is all on me. We both pushed her away… pushed her right into the arms of some scummy vampire and now she’s stuck like us. Well, at least it sounds like she actually got to make that choice.”
“I thought we were past that,” Stefan lets out a humourless chuckle.
“We’ll never be past that.”
“I was just joking before about you two constantly fighting…” you mumble as you walk down the stairs.
Damon smirks, “Stefan loves to bicker.”
You raise a brow, “So it’s only Stefan then?”
You swiftly make your way across the room to the bourbon and grab a glass, you turn to Damon, “May I?”
“Knock yourself out.”
Humming, you pour yourself a glass, looking at Damon over the rim of the cup, “You and Rose woke me up earlier, safe to say I’m disgusted…” This was a lie, you never fell asleep in the first place.
Damon rolls his eyes, “Now who needs to grow up?”
Stefan sighs and takes that as his que to cut in, “You sleep well? Besides that…”
You take a sip of the alcohol before responding, “Like a baby.”
Another lie, you hadn’t slept ‘like a baby’ since 1914.
1914
New Orleans
“He’ll never let us leave, he’ll never let us be happy.” Kol holds you tightly in his arms, “This is the only way…” he pulls back to hold your face in his hands, “I’ll find the diamond, my witches will do what we need, and then we will leave this place, my love. I want to show you the world, just as you wish but we can’t do that with him looming over us.”
You swallow, “I am tired of watching him hurt you… all of you.”
“And I do not want him to ever hurt you.“
Klaus had been a friend to you over the years but the one thing you disagreed on was how he handled his siblings. It broke your heart to watch any of them be daggered and put away in those wretched boxes for however long he deemed necessary. It drove a rift in between the two of you and you knew Kol was right, with how tightly of a leash Klaus kept on Kol, it was only a matter of time before Klaus saw Kol as a threat and daggered him again.
Besides, it wouldn’t be killing Nik. It would just be giving him a taste of his own medicine for once.
“Okay…”
“Okay?”
You nod and Kol lets out a small chuckle, half smiling at you, he presses his lips to yours.
Pulling back, he looks you up and down, “All you have to do is look pretty, which is an easy task for you considering you always look gorgeous.”
He takes your hand and has you do a twirl, admiring the way your dress moves as you spin, “Absolutely stunning.”
You roll your eyes, giggling as he spins you right into his arms, “Always such a charmer.”
“Only for you…” he presses a kiss to your head, “You head down to the party I’ll be right there.”
You hum, connecting your lips one last time before heading downstairs, blending into the crowd around you. Soon after, Kol would make his way downstairs, he snuck up behind you, placing his hands on your hips and whispering into your ear.
“Rebekah knows but do not fret… she’s going to help us.”
Only she wouldn’t, Rebekah ran straight to Klaus and told him everything.
All of you were currently on the stairs, posed for a family photograph. Kol had his arm wrapped securely around your waist when Klaus raised his glass, taping the side of it with a knife to attract the attention of everyone in the room. He starts by thanking those invited for attending but then makes a special toast to Rebekah.
He looks at you and Kol while speaking, “It is especially gratifying in times when treachery runs deep to know you have someone you can trust…” he turns back to face Rebekah, smiling at her, “A toast, to you, my sister.”
Kol tenses, the two of you share a look and quickly begin to make your way up the stairs. You make it to the top of the stairs before Kol does and just as he’s about to join you, Elijah speeds in front of him. Elijah grabs Kol’s arms, successfully detaining him as Klaus slowly walks up the stairs. You’re frozen in place, unsure what to do and Kol looks at you. He knows this will be the last time he sees you for a very long time so he decides to commit your features to memory. He regrets not asking you for a dance earlier.
“Ladies and gentlemen! I do apologize for the disturbance! But, what’s a Mikaelson party without a little squabble…?” He reveals a silver dagger.
“Y/N run!” Kol shouts and you listen.
You rush away making Klaus sigh, looking at Rebekah over his shoulder, “Catch her,” he commands.
Kol looks at his sister, a pleading look in his eyes as he struggles in Elijah’s hold— watching her run after you, knowing that it would be near impossible for you to outrun her.
You hear Kol’s pained scream as Klaus shoves the dagger into his heart, trying to fight your tears as you run. You were outside when Rebekah caught you, slamming you into the wall.
“Bekah please…”
Her eyes scan your face, your fear, your grief, and she loosens her hold, “I have never had a true friend until you, Y/N… please… forgive me for what I am about to do.”
Rebekah takes your face in her hands, staring into your eyes and you begin to panic, knowing what is about to happen.
“You promised you’d never do that! All of you did! That you’d never take my choice away!” you fight against her.
“Look at me,” her voice becomes hypnotic and you find yourself unable to look away from her eyes, “You’re going to forget Kol, you’re going to forget that you were ever in love with him. You’ve never even heard his name. You are going to forget all about Elijah and… me. All you will know regarding the Mikaelson family is that you have to keep running from Klaus. You don’t stop, you don’t stay in one place for long, you keep running.”
Your eyes have completely glazed over, pupils dilated, “I keep running from Klaus…”
Rebekah pulls back from you, staring at you as your eyes go back to normal, “Y/N?”
“I… I’m sorry, do I know you? I… nevermind that I need to get going, I’m sorry again,” you say, walking past her before using your speed to get farther away.
Rebekah lets out a shaky breath, knowing that Klaus will not believe that you were able to outrun her. She brings her own hands to her neck and snaps it, falling to the ground.
Maybe he’d believe that.
Present Day
Mystic Falls
A few days had passed since your arrival in Mystic Falls, while everything had seemingly calmed down a bit, there was still the looming presence of Klaus.
You had been briefly involved with their plan of getting the moonstone from Katherine, you knew it wouldn’t do them any good and it was clear they were grasping at straws to try and save the doppelgängers life. After contacting him, he told you to just continue on as is so you wouldn’t raise suspicion. You had witnessed Elena’s attempt at a self-sacrifice play, which she failed at terribly due to your brother's intervention… and Elijah’s.
Damon was incredibly annoyed when he found out Elijah was still alive. And after a lot of back and forth and changing of plans, you managed to convince Damon to let you accompany him to the bar to confront Jules. You refused to be on babysitting duty with Jeremy.
You made it your mission to avoid Elijah, knowing that if you saw him you’d end up telling Klaus in fear of him interfering with their plan. You already knew that Elena and her group of friends would try to interfere but you could handle them - you had plans. Caroline was meant to be the vampire… but you had plenty of options for a vampire, maybe even your own brothers. Tyler Lockwood was a werewolf, but you needed a backup, which is the whole reason you went to the bar with Damon. You wanted to get an idea about Jules so that it would be easier to get her.
Jules was smart, she wouldn’t drink the wolfsbane and she instantly knew what you and Damon were. That wouldn’t matter, you knew when it came down to it - you’d be able to capture her with ease. You backed down from the argument, not wanting to fight in the middle of the bar but Damon didn’t. He kept pushing just like he always did.
That brought you to where you were now, back at the boarding house with Damon and Rose. The two were clearly having a moment so you decided to take a step back into the living room. Just as you do, a large wolf jumps through the window, slamming you into the ground. You hold its jaw, pushing its mouth away from you in fear of being bit.
“Damon!” you shriek, “A little help would be nice!”
Damon goes to the fireplace mantel, picking up a sword, taking a swing at the wolf. It lets out a pained sound and releases you- now going to attack Damon. Before it’s able to turn your brother into a chew toy, Rose jumps in front of him, taking the brunt of the attack. The werewolf sinks its teeth into her shoulder, infecting her with its deadly bite.
Your brother slashes the wolf once more and it takes off into the night, knowing it wouldn’t survive another hit from the blade. You let out a sigh of relief, turning to look at Damon and Rose.
“How bad is it?” Damon asks Rose, helping her off the ground to examine the bite.
“It hurts…” Rose whimpers.
You frown, already knowing what is going to happen, you knew of the false hope that she would get.
Damon’s eyes widen, “It’s healing!”
Rose tilts her head to look at her shoulder better, “Oh my God… I thought a werewolf bite was fatal!”
‘It is’ you want to say, to warn her of what is going to happen about how she’ll lose her mind. But you stay silent.
“I thought…” tears fill Rose’s eyes and Damon pulls her into his arms.
“You’re going to be okay…” he reassures her, giving you a look.
You press your lips together, nodding, leaving the room to give them their moment once more. Allowing them to live in a fantasy where Rose would be okay.
You made the decision to disappear for a few days, leaving your brothers and Elena to deal with Rose. Both of them left numerous messages on your phone.
“This is what? Call two hundred and twenty four? You’re really not going to answer them?” Klaus muses.
You sigh, shaking your head, “No. I’m not. They just want help with Rose… I don’t… I don’t want to see her like that, losing her mind… I’ve seen that happen too many times before.”
Klaus hums, “Let me guess, you’re going to ask for my blood to heal her?”
“No,” you shake your head, “She needs to die, she knows too much about you and your family, she’s a threat… besides she’s probably dead now.”
“Our family,” Klaus corrects.
You continue, ignoring him, “I just thought she’d die with a stake in her heart not from going insane.”
“Still sensitive.”
You choose to ignore his comment once again, playing the latest voicemail left by Stefan.
“Y/N, I don’t know where you are or why you left… I’m worried though… about you, about Elena… I miss you… can you please come home? Listen, Rose is dead and Damon is doing what he does best— deflecting. He’s got this new girl… Andie Star I think? I- I don’t know what happened that night, maybe you got bit too? I really hope not… Maybe you got scared… you ran… just please at least call me if you’re not going to come home… I need to know you’re okay. I love you.”
“I presume you’re going back now?”
You nod and Klaus smirks, “Excellent… I’ll be making my appearance soon.”
By time you arrived back in Mystic Falls, Elijah had been ‘dealt with’ as Damon put it. That made you anxious, you doubted they had found a white oak stake but the only alternative was a dagger, and that thought made your stomach churn.
Leaving had fractured the trust you built between your brothers, you knew it would but that was fine with you. The less you knew regarding Elijah, the better. You told them the truth, that you knew Rose was going to die - painfully and out of her mind. Damon was angry that you didn’t tell them and Stefan understood.
There was also the little fact that Katherine had been released of her compulsion. You had to admit, you were a tad anxious she’d find a way to Klaus and find out about your deal. If she ratted you out to Stefan and Damon, every part of your perfectly calculated plan would be ruined. Hopefully, Klaus would be enough to distract your brothers from you so they wouldn’t get too suspicious.
It was no secret that Niklaus Mikaelson liked making an entrance and being as you were currently not getting all the intel since they still didn’t trust you fully— Klaus decided to use one of his favorite tricks which you suggested. Body possession.
On the night of the school dance, Klaus possessed Alaric's body, revealing himself to Bonnie and Elena with dramatic flair and then he killed the Benett witch— at least that’s what you two thought.
The truth of Bonnie’s fate would be revealed on the night of the ritual when she showed up to kill Klaus with the help of Elijah.
Elijah had dug his hand into Klaus’ chest and you had no idea what to do. You couldn’t fight Elijah, that was one fight you’d certainly lose, not to mention Bonnie and all of the others being there, they’d stop you before you could lay a hand on him.
Klaus looked at you, silencing your fears with one glance before looking back to Elijah and confessing the truth, “I didn’t bury them at sea.”
His gaze flickered to you and Elijah looked to where his brother was, he hadn’t seen you in so long but still, he trusted you, so when you nod your head ever so slightly… he believes Klaus.
Two days had passed since the ritual and Klaus was now a hybrid. You had spent those two days following Elijah through the woods, cleaning up Klaus’ mess.
In fact, that’s where you currently are. It had been practically silent between the two of you, neither of you wanting to start the conversation, after all it had been nearly a hundred years. That was until you decided to open your mouth after arriving at another camp that had been ripped apart.
You move a body and scoff, “He’s not even draining them. He’s killing for sport.”
Elijah hums, “You sound shocked, you should know by now this behavior is expected of Niklaus.”
“He’s wasting perfectly good snacks,” you grumble as you throw the body to Elijah who catches it with ease.
“You’re thirsty?”
“No, Elijah, I’m annoyed,” you throw your hands up, walking closer to him, “It’s been two days since the full moon, why is he still a wolf?”
“I don’t have the answer to that.”
“Okay, well, what if he’s stuck as a wolf? Hm? Then what? We’re going to put him on a leash and have him lead us to the coffins?”
Elijah lets out a chuckle, “While that image is amusing, I’m sure he’ll be turning back soon.”
You sigh and go back to cleaning up the bodies in silence, when you’re done you both continue to follow the trail that Klaus was leaving behind, you had no doubt you’d soon run into more bodies.
“What have you been up to for the past century?” Elijah asks, walking so close that your arms brush against each other.
You come to a stop, and it takes Elijah a moment to stop and turn back, looking at you slightly confused.
“Are you serious? I was trapped, Elijah, and when I was trapped I was running from him,” you jab your finger into his chest, “from you.”
Elijah looks down at you, a frown on his face, “I haven’t been doing Niklaus’ bidding since he said he dropped all of them into the ocean… he implied that he had found you as well… that you were gone… I never did want to hurt you, Y/N.”
“Well it didn’t seem that way to me. I didn’t know that. I’ve spent the last century looking over my shoulder, not staying anywhere for more than a moment because I knew that no matter where I went, you, or him, or some minion of his would be waiting. And when I wasn’t running I was trapped… there… all alone…”
“Y/N—“
“I know what we did was unforgivable,” you say, taking a step away from him to continue following the trail and he follows, “but what he had planned for me was just cruel…”
“If it’s any consolation, none of us agreed with Niklaus’ ‘gift’.”
You let out a humorless laugh, “Is that what he called it?”
“Yes, it was intended to be given to you for your engagement… obviously you were shown sooner than intended… it was his disturbed way of welcoming you into the family officially.”
Your brows furrow, “What engagement?”
Elijah stops, seemingly realizing his mistake, “I apologize, I thought you knew… Kol…”
You stop and turn to him, “He was going to propose?” your voice breaks a bit as you will away your tears.
Elijah sighs, stopping to face you, “He had rings, new daylight rings… I do not know much of how he planned to propose, just that he planned to do it after the new year… You two had been together for so long I assume he thought it was time to ask…”
You blink a few times, before clearing your throat, “Let’s just find Klaus.”
He nods, continuing to follow the path, he can practically feel the emotions rolling off of you. Grief, sadness, anger, and even jealousy. Then there was the look on your face, the look of heartbreak. Even after all these years, he still hated to see you like this. He would always feel guilty, after all, he was the first one you met, the one who introduced you to everyone. He would forever feel at least somewhat responsible for your pain.
1869
New Orleans
It had been five years, nearly six since you ran from home, since your brothers were killed, and you were still having a hard time settling down. You found yourself in New Orleans, you loved everything about it, but there was one problem. It was hard to find work as a woman and even harder as a seventeen year old so you adapted to stealing.
You would wait by stands or alleyways and wait for the perfect target, you’d typically go for men who held their heads high as if they owned the world. Men who were so well dressed that you knew they had money to spare. Sometimes you’d even hang out near bars to find men stumbling around, too drunk to notice you taking their entire wallet.
It was late now, you were leaning against a wall when you saw him. A rather attractive man dressed in a fancy suit, you had no doubt that it had been tailor fitted to him. He begins to walk down the street, walking right past you, seemingly not noticing you. There weren’t as many people out now, normally you’d use the strangers during the day as cover but this man clearly had too much money for his good, you couldn’t pass up the opportunity.
As quietly as possible, you push yourself off the wall and follow behind him. You smirk when you see his wallet in his back pocket but just as your fingers graze what you assume is real leather, his hand snatches your wrist.
“What do you think you’re doing?” His voice was low, dangerous.
You curse yourself for being so reckless. You swallow your pride and decide to try and flirt your way out. Men with the kind of money you knew he had, always enjoyed being flirted with, it boosts their already over-inflated egos.
You giggle while leaning a bit closer, “You’re even more handsome up close…”
He chuckles, “Is that so?”
“And this suit… it fits you so well…” you brush your hand along his chest.
“That’s very flattering…” he smiles, bringing his hand up to cup yours.
Hook. Line. Sinker. You had him.
“But I know what you’re doing.”
You did not have him.
Your smile fades away and you pull back from him. This had never happened before, most of the men were too dumb to figure it out (at least until they got home and found their wallets missing), it was just your luck that you’d try and rob the only smart guy around.
“How old are you?” He looks you up and down.
You gulp, “Seventeen, sir.”
He pulls his wallet from his pocket and holds it out to you, “Take it.”
“What?”
“Take it, you want my wallet? Take it.”
With shaky hands, you reach for the wallet, it was embarrassing being caught like this but you needed the money.
“Thank you…” you trail off, realizing you hadn’t learned his name.
“Elijah Mikaelson.”
Your eyes widen at the name, you had heard of the Mikaelsons before. A rich, powerful family and there were whispers all around that they were the thing you hated most. Vampires.
He smirks at your reaction, “And you are?”
“Y/N.”
He nods and smiles but it quickly fades when he glances at his watch, “Well, Miss Y/N do try to stay safe… you never know who or what may be lurking in these streets, especially at this time of night.”
And just like that, he was gone. The next time you saw him was after the new year when he pulled a newly turned vampire off of you. You saw him a third time when this exact thing happened again, you didn’t know why but you it seemed you were practically vampire bait.
After these two incidents, Elijah decided it wasn't safe for you to be on the streets any longer and invited you to come stay with him for some time before he could find something more permanent. An idea you were not so eager about when he confirmed that he and his family were in fact, vampires. But you couldn’t pass up the offer when he was offering you an actual bed to sleep in and numerous necessities. Little did either of you know that the compound would become your permanent home.
Present Day
Mystic Falls
After your conversation you had fallen behind Elijah, walking slower to keep the distance. When he called out that he had found him, you hardly even picked up the pace.
“You’ve been busy…” Elijah remarks, leaning on a tree.
“That was… amazing.” You hear Klaus’ voice before you see him.
And when you do see him you groan, spinning around and closing your eyes, “You could have told me he was naked.”
“Did you think I was carrying around his clothes these past two days for fun?” Elijah raises a brow.
“It’s been two days?” Klaus asks, you can hear him shuffling around while getting dressed.
“Full moon came and went. You remained a wolf.” Elijah states but it’s more of a question.
“I can change at will then, that’s good to know.”
Klaus smiles and then chuckles, “I remember… every single kill.”
“Yes, we’ve been cleaning up your little mess along the way.” Elijah gestures between the two of you.
“Just like old times then.”
Elijah hums, and pushes off the tree, handing Klaus his boots, “Well, you’ve had your fun. I believe we have a bargain.”
“That’s right!” Klaus exclaims, leaning down to put on his boots, “Now what was it again? Oh yeah, wait, I remember, that’s it! You wish to be reunited with our family!”
“And you!” he shouts towards you, “You want your precious Kol back…”
You turn around, finally facing him, pleased to see that he has put his pants on. You want to say something but hold your tongue, there was a time where you weren’t afraid of him but now it felt that if you even stepped a toe out of line he’d hunt you down.
Elijah brushes off Klaus’ jacket, “You gave me your word, Niklaus.”
Klaus smiles, cheekily, “And what kind of brother would I be if I broke my bond… even if you did try and kill me.”
You sigh, and Elijah holds out Klaus’ jacket for him to put on, “I could have… but I didn’t.”
Klaus puts on his jacket and fixes the collar, “And now no one can,” he turns to face Elijah, “Relax, Elijah, all is forgiven.”
He smiles at you, “That applies to you as well, love. You have more than proved yourself loyal.”
“Where are they?” Elijah cuts in.
Klaus grins, patting his brother's arm, “You need to lighten up… I’ll bring you to them soon enough.”
He walks ahead of you and Elijah, the two of you sharing a look before you scoff and follow after the hybrid. He ends up taking you to Alaric's apartment, you feel a pit in your stomach knowing that Katherine is going to be there but you do your best to push it away.
“Look who decided to come for a visit.” Katherine gestures to Stefan as you, Klaus, and Elijah enter the apartment.
“I need your help.” Stefan states, his eyes flickering to you, wondering why the hell you’re with them, there was no way for you to know what had happened to Damon so that couldn’t be it.
Elijah shuts the door, and Stefan steps closer, “For my brother.” he then looks at you, “our brother.”
Klaus clicks his tongue, “Oh well, whatever it is, it’s going to have to wait a tick. You see, I have an obligation to my brother.” he points at Elijah. “And your sister…” he points at you.
“It requires my immediate attention.” Klaus brushes past Stefan.
You hug yourself, feeling anxious of the entire situation, it was bad enough that Katherine was here and now Stefan was too.
“You understand how important family is or you wouldn’t be here.” Elijah walks a bit closer to Stefan, “My brother gave me his word that he would reunite me with my family.”
“And so I shall.” Klaus speaks from behind Elijah, Elijah spins around to face his brother but it is too late, Klaus shoves a dagger through his heart.
You feel frozen when Elijah screams, tears begin to fill your eyes, you know what is about to come and there's no point in running because he’d just catch you. Rebekah wasn’t here this time to buy you time.
His body drops to the ground with a sickening thud, his skin completely grey and you knew you would not get the privilege of a quick death.
Klaus smiles at you and the tears begin to fall from your eyes.
“Please! I- I didn’t know about Elijah’s plan! I didn’t even know he was here! I only heard rumors! I swear! You said it yourself, Klaus- I’m loyal! I’ve proved it!”
Klaus shushes you and walks closer, your body doesn’t move, you’re rooted in your spot. He brings his hand up to hold your cheek and brushes a tear away, you shudder at the touch, letting out a sob.
“Loyal…?” Stefan questions, the floorboards creaking when he steps forward.
Klaus’ gaze immediately snaps to your brother, “Another step and I’ll rip her heart out.”
“She’s my sister-“
“All the more reason for you to stay put, Stefan.”
The two stare at each other for a moment before Stefan steps back. Klaus smirks, turning back to you. You tense up when he rests his hand on your neck, another sob wracks through your body.
“Don’t do this… I did what you asked! I found the doppelgänger! I found Elena! I called you as soon as I found her! Sure- Katherine found the werewolf but I made sure you had the backup one! And you needed the backup one! And- and using Alaric was my idea! I came up with that, it was perfect! You thought it was hilarious! I’ve helped you!”
Stefan’s brow furrows at your admission, his voice barely audible as he connects the dots, “You’re the reason he’s here… that’s… that’s why you came back to Mystic Falls to find us… not because you missed us, but because you’re helping him…”
You don’t bother to look over to your brother, you felt bad for betraying his trust, for lying to him but he could never understand, you don’t say anything, it wouldn’t matter now.
You look up at Klaus with tears staining your cheeks, “I did everything right!” your voice falls to a whisper, “Don’t make me go back there, it’s dark, Nik, I hate the dark…”
“You know, I considered you family once, I treated you as such.”
“Please Nikkie… you gave me your word…I just want him back, you promised me!”
“Oh love…” Klaus brings his hand up to brush some of the hair from your face, “You have me confused with Elijah…”
In a split second his hand falls to your neck, the sound of it snapping fills the room and he drops your body on the ground, discarding you.
Klaus turns back to Stefan who looks devastated by the news, “Don’t look so glum Stefan, you wouldn’t be the first to be tricked by your sister. She’d do anything to survive, even if it meant betraying those closest to her,” he glances at Katherine, noting the similarities.
He shakes his head, looking back at Stefan, “But that’s a story for another day…”
Klaus speeds forward, slamming Stefan into the wall, “Now… what am I going to do with you?”
Present Day
Chicago
“My sister? She knew you? All of you?”
Klaus approaches the coffins, “If you can’t handle it, don’t ask.”
Stefan looks at all of the coffins but two of them catch his attention, they’re away from the rest, almost like they’ve been isolated. One of the coffins is made of some sort of metal and they both have engravings on them that compliment each other.
Klaus notices his gaze and smirks, “I see you’ve spotted the lovers.”
“the lovers?” Stefan raises a brow.
His smirk deepens, he steps away from Rebekah’s coffin and to the others, he opens one of them, revealing a boy in clothing from the the early 1900s.
Stefan looks over the boy, completely confused he turns to Klaus who grins.
“You wouldn’t recognize him… you never had the pleasure of meeting Kol…” he brushes his hand over the engraving on the other one, “You’d recognize whose in this one though…”
Klaus could see the gears turning in Stefan’s head, his eyes widening as he pieced the puzzle together.
“My sister?” his voice breaks a bit.
Klaus laughs, “You always were quick, Ripper.”
“This is what you meant by family? You got her a coffin and a dagger? That’s family to you?”
The hybrid clicks his tongue a few times, wagging his finger, “No Stefan, I got her a coffin… I never said anything about a dagger.”
Stefan’s heart sinks at the new information, it all hit him at once, why you hated the dark, why you had to have the door open, why couldn’t stand to be in silence.
You didn’t get a century long sleep like Klaus’ siblings would, you got to lay there and rot, slowly and painfully, all alone.
“I had a witch make it, it’s spelled… only I can open it.” Klaus boasts, clearly proud of his work.
“That’s cruel, even for you.”
“Maybe so, but I must punish those who betray me accordingly.”
Klaus takes a step closer to Stefan, “You met Rebekah and I in 1920… but we did not meet by chance. I sought you out, I was looking for your sister… The girl can really run when she wants to. I was hoping you’d be able to help me find her, but you were too busy draining civilians, Ripper.”
“I wouldn’t have been helpful either way. I thought she was dead.”
“I’m aware… I thought that she’d maybe be nearby, watching, that was something she often did— check up on you and Damon. Regardless, I found her on my own in 1924.”
1924
London
Today marks four years since Rebekah’s compulsion had worn off which meant one of two things, she was dead (unlikely) or she had been daggered (very likely).
It had been four years since you remembered Kol and ten years that you had been running. You were tired, tired of running, tired of having to look over your shoulder every five seconds, tired of not having your beloved around.
Klaus was hunting you and you had done a damn good job at keeping him off of your trail, always being careful when finding a snack and making sure you were never in one place for too long.
So you decided to do the opposite, you had been in London for two weeks now, ripping through crowds of people with no remorse. You wanted Klaus to find you, you wanted him to kill you.
You’re currently in a bar full of people, well, dead people. You slaughtered everyone and now had your teeth buried in some man’s neck.
“Perhaps you’re more like Stefan than I thought.” Klaus’ voice fills the bar.
Reluctantly, you pull yourself off of the now dead, drained man. You look at Klaus with blood coating your face and staining your dress.
After staring at each other for a moment, you stand to your full height, Klaus gives you a once over before raising a brow.
“You’ve gotten sloppy, left a trail of bodies a mile long leading me right to you.”
You simply stare at him and he smirks, “You wanted to be found.”
“I can’t do this anymore… not without him. I‘m tired, Nik. Please, just end it.”
Niklaus clicks his tongue, “End it?” He takes a step towards you.
“Kill me.”
Klaus laughs, “You think I want to kill you?”
Your brows furrow and you take a step back from the hybrid, Klaus snaps his fingers and two men enter the room carrying a coffin.
You take another step back, eyes widening and Klaus grins, “You can try to run but you won’t get far…”
“No… you… you can’t dagger me…”
“You’re right, daggers are such trivial things to make… you would know after all. But a lockbox that only I can open, now that’s much simpler.”
You decide to risk it, attempting to speed away but he catches you in a second, holding you up in the air by your throat.
“Don’t worry, you’ll be back with him soon enough… consider this me officially welcoming you into the family.”
Present Day
Chicago
“What was the point of letting her out just to lock her back up? To be cruel?”
Klaus shrugs, “I was bored and decided to make her a deal in 1984.”
“1984? You kept her in there for…”
“Sixty years, Stefan. She betrayed me and those were the consequences. When I woke her up we made an agreement.”
“What kind of agreement?”
“She’d find me Katherine and bring her to me. She couldn’t ever find Katherine but she found me something even better…”
“Elena…”
“Yes, the doppelgänger.”
“So she knew the truth about your curse? That you’re a hybrid?”
“She was my family once, lived with us for nearly half a century. She knows a lot more than she led you all to believe. But don’t get any ideas, she’d never tell you anything that could hurt us… she wouldn’t risk Kol or Rebekah getting caught in the crossfire… or Elijah, though I suppose she’d be alright losing me considering she attempted to do so herself.”
“Moving on!” Klaus chirps, moving back to Rebekah, “It’s time for my little sister to wake up…”
“And I knew her?” Stefan asks, looking into the now open coffin, “I don’t recognize her.”
“Well don’t tell her that,” Klaus muses, “Rebekah’s temper is worse than mine.”
He pulls the dagger out, waiting for a moment before sighing, “Any Day now, Rebekah… she’s being dramatic.”
Present Day
Mystic Falls
It had been months since Klaus had locked you away. You were a bit surprised when he came to free you, your bones creaked, skin practically gray… still, you weren’t nearly as desiccated as the last time you had been in that coffin.
He fed you blood and brushed your hair for you as if you were a doll then provided you with a white colored dress that went to your knees, it reminded you of the one Elijah had given you when you first arrived in their home.
When Klaus revealed he was hosting a dinner with Elijah for Stefan and Damon you realized what he was doing. You were a bargaining chip.
You sat in the living room, humming to yourself, waiting for them to arrive. You still felt weak from not having blood for so long and the fact you were shaking was proof of that, the little blood that Klaus had provided was not enough.
Soon enough, your brothers arrived and were let inside by Elijah, “Niklaus, our guests have arrived…”
“Damon… Stefan…” Klaus greets, standing by the head of the dining room table, “Elijah tells me you seek an audience… very bold. Let’s discuss the terms of our agreement like civilized men, shall we?” he gestures to the large table that was set for five.
“It’s better to indulge him,” Elijah states, moving past your brothers.
“I didn’t come here to eat Klaus,” Stefan narrows his eyes, taking a step down the stairs, “I didn’t want to come here at all… but… I was told I had to, because you’d hear us out.”
Klaus hums, “Well we can sit and eat… or I can reach down your throats and pull out your insides…” he takes his seat at the head of the table, “choice is yours…”
Your brothers decide it would be best to sit and eat. Once the four brothers had sat down, Klaus sat forward in his chair, dramatically placing his hands in front of him, “I almost forgot! Sweetheart!” he calls out, “You can come out now!”
That was your que to enter, walking through the doorway and making a beeline for the table, refusing to meet anyone's eyes. Elijah stands when he sees you, pulling out your chair for you and when you sit he pushes you in.
“Y/N…” Damon says quietly, it isn’t until then that you realize he hasn’t seen you since the night of the ritual.
“Damon…” you mumble in a voice so quiet that anyone without supernatural hearing wouldn’t be able to hear you.
“How are you—“ he begins but is quickly cut off by Stefan.
“She’s practically part of their freaky family, Damon, and Klaus won’t kill his family… he’ll just torture them endlessly.”
“That’s not very nice Stefan,” Klaus clicks his tongue.
You grab the glass of wine, downing it as quickly as possible. Hoping that it will not only curb your blood cravings but also make this dinner party a little more bearable. When you finish your glass, you reach for Elijah’s.
He raises a brow, shooting you an unimpressed look, “By all means, help yourself.”
You take a sip of the wine, ignoring Elijah, “Can we please get on with this dinner… I’m starved.”
“Well at least one of you is hungry… Stefan seems to have lost his appetite,” Klaus notes, nodding his head in Stefan’s direction.
Damon glances at his brother, gesturing with his fork, “Eat. I thought we agreed we’d leave the grumpy Stefan at home.”
Reluctantly, Stefan picks up his fork making Klaus smile, “That’s the spirit. Isn’t it nice? Five of us dining together? Such a treat. Is that what you had in mind when you pulled the dagger from my brother?”
Damon smiles sarcastically, “Well, I know how he felt about you, so I figured the more the merrier,” he winks playfully at Elijah.
“Well, Elijah and I have had our share of quarrels over the centuries… but we always make it through,” Klaus takes a bite of his steak.
“Kind of like you and Rebekah, right? Where is she, by the way? Last I checked, she was still daggered because you were afraid to face her,” Stefan quips, smirking over the rim of his bourbon glass.
Damon shoots a warning look at Stefan but you can’t be bothered by their conversation, you’re too focused on your bloody steak in front of you. Savoring the small amount of blood you’d get from its juices.
“If you’re referring to the fact Rebekah knows I killed our mother, I’ve already come clean to Elijah,” Klaus smiles at Elijah who has remained silent, resting his head on top of his fist.
“Hey Stef,” Damon cuts in, grabbing everyone’s attention, “remember when you killed dad? Might want to dial down on the judgement until dessert.”
You had been fighting the urge to lick the dish clean, hoping for just another drop of that delicious, bloody flavor. But Damon’s words distract you, making you look up from the plate.
“You killed dad?” you ask, looking directly at Stefan, he doesn’t verbally answer, only narrowing his eyes at you making you hum, “I always thought it was Katherine…” you fidget with your fork, pushing it across the plate.
“You want another plate, love?” Klaus asks, his tone was sickeningly sweet, he snaps his fingers and a compelled blonde girl comes running to get your plate.
She leans over you, hair falling past her neck and you could feel the veins beneath your eyes begin to ripple. The girl's eyes widened, Klaus may have compelled her to do his bidding but he never compelled away her fear.
“Y/N,” Klaus says your name in a sing-songy tone, a warning.
Your lips part at the sound of her heart pumping, the smell of the blood in her veins, and your fangs begin to descend.
“Y/N. No,” Klaus tries again, setting his fork down.
But it was too late, you were out of your chair in a split second. You wrapped your hand around the girl’s neck, slamming her into the nearby wall hard enough to crack it, your other hand holding one of her wrists. You nearly moan at the taste of fresh blood, like an animal you can’t get enough.
Removing your hand from her neck, you flatten your palm and push the tip of chin up until it’s out of your way— effectively breaking her neck. You continue to drink, not caring as the blood stains your mouth and neck, dripping to your dress.
Klaus sighs, “One nice dinner, that’s all I ask, is that too much to ask for?”
He rises from his chair and speeds to stand behind you, “That’s enough.”
You don’t listen and Klaus decides there is only one solution to the problem he caused, snapping your neck. Your head is practically on backwards and he allows your body to fall to the ground next to the blonde, dead girl.
Damon stands up, his chair screeching but Stefan grabs his arm, dragging him back down, and Klaus clears his throat, walking back to the table as if he hadn’t just broke your neck.
Elijah sighs, excusing himself from the table, he picks up your body with ease and brings you back to the table, setting you in your seat. He twists your head so your head is facing the proper way, hoping that it’ll allow you to heal and wake sooner. The dinner would proceed as normal, other than Damon looking at your body every few seconds, it was as if nothing had happened.
When you woke, you were alone at the table and you could hear voices coming from the living room.
“Elijah… why haven’t you left?” Klaus sounds confused.
You stand up, finding your bearings.
You can hear the smugness in Elijah’s tone when he speaks, “You’ve lectured Y/N on her manners all night… but where are yours, brother? We forgot dessert.”
You take slow steps towards the living room.
“What have you done?” Klaus’ voice is panicked, he sounds betrayed.
“What have you done?” Elijah retorts, “You see, I’ve learned not to trust your vulgar promises, Klaus. We’re doing this on my terms now.”
You’ve nearly made it to the living room door way when you stop in your tracks after hearing Klaus utter a single word.
“Kol…”
“Long time brother.”
His voice, Kol’s voice. Your Kol, he was here, he was awake.
You rush to the doorway, freezing when you finally see him. Kol, he looked the same as he did on that fateful night in 1914, still wearing the same outfit. He still looked as beautiful as you remembered him to be, tears began to prick the corner of your eyes but not tears of sadness or fear, they were tears of joy.
You could see Stefan still by the fireplace where he had been burned, you could see Damon standing off to the side of Elijah, but it didn’t matter, you didn’t care about your brothers in that moment. It was as if everything around you faded away and it was just you and Kol.
“Kol…” you whisper, softly.
His gaze snaps up to find you, his eyes softening when he sees you.
“Y/N…”
Without giving it a second thought, Kol takes one of the hands restraining Klaus and uses it to snap the hybrids neck. He speeds towards you, something Damon takes note of but when he moves to get to you, to try and protect you from what he thinks is a threat; Elijah places his hand onto Damon’s chest, stopping him from moving.
You slowly bring your hands up to hold his face and he covers your hands with his, ”You’re real…” you breath out, you still couldn’t believe he was in front of you after all this time.
He smiles, chuckling a bit, “I’m real… and I’m not leaving you ever again.”
You smile, causing more tears to flow and you throw yourself into his arms, nuzzling your face into his neck, squeezing your eyes shut and welcoming the darkness that came with it because for the first time, in a century, you weren’t alone in the dark. You were with Kol, your Kol.
His arms wrap tightly around your waist, inhaling your scent that he remembers so fondly, “I missed you, my darling.”
It must have been those words that finally helped Damon connect the dots, that this was the boy, the one that changed your opinion on vampires, the one who turned you into a vampire. This was the boy you lost a century ago, the boy you’d do anything and everything to get back. Including betraying your own family.
“You’re free to go. This is family business.”
Elijah’s words made Damon realize something, you weren’t his family anymore, you hadn’t been for a long time. Maybe you never officially got married because you ran out of time but you were no longer Y/N Salvatore, you were Y/N Mikaelson. He can pinpoint the exact moment you stopped being his family and it was long before the Mikaelsons, it was when he and Stefan chose Katherine Pierce over you. That fateful night where he told you that you weren’t his family anymore.
The truth hurts and the truth was that there was no fixing your relationship with either of your brothers. The next few months would make that abundantly clear. Like when you snapped Damon’s neck after he snapped Kol’s. Or when you stood by while Kol beat Damon with an aluminum bat. And of course you stood by Rebekah when she had compelled and trapped everyone in the school. You even helped Kol slaughter all of the newly turned vampires meant for Jeremy… and you let Kol torture Damon.
So maybe you really weren’t their family anymore, maybe that’s why they wouldn’t feel as guilty about what was going to happen when Jeremy would kill Kol.
At least you wouldn’t be alone when the darkness came, you would die in the arms of your love in the middle of the Gilbert family kitchen. It didn’t matter to you that his body was still crackingly, still burning, you‘d endure the feeling of your flesh melting to his if it meant you got to hold him one last time. There would be no coming back for either of you, you knew this and accepted it. You closed your eyes and faded away into the darkness, welcoming it.
You only hoped that when you’d wake on the other side, you’d still be in Kol’s arms.
The Darkness.
The End.

You're Just Jealous of Me
pairing: the salvatore brothers x male reader tags: reader knows he's manipulative and a slut, you just don't care tbh, Elena has an aneurysm from not being the main character, the brothers know they're getting played, you're just that hot/beautiful/perfect for them to give you up, Elena bashing, no incest
"I can't believe you." Elena exclaimed, her eyes growing misty as you were getting ready to head out with Damon on a date. It hadn't even been a week since they broke up (something about her needing stability or some other bullshit) and you didn't care. All that mattered was getting through yet another 'poor me' moment without killing her and making it seem like an accident.
Seriously, what did your sister expect? That Damon was going to stay single for the rest of his days until she made a fucking choice between him and Stefan? Perhaps some of her betrayal stemmed from the fact that Stefan had also rejected her ass and had made it clear he didn't feel anything for her anymore. So now poor Elena had no one while you played with both brothers.
And it wasn't even 'playing' per se if they knew about the whole situation. You could fuck any of them, and they'll be fine with it—a thing you made clear to them when this whole thing started. You liked both brothers, but having to choose just one was unfair—they both had traits that attracted you, and if you couldn't have both, then you'll settle for nothing. Like eager children they agreed. The arrangement was abnormal to others, but for you it worked—you dated both brothers, they still hated each other (entertaining fights arising from their competitiveness on who you liked more, who was 'rocking' your world, etc.) Simple really.
"Save the tears for the pillow, sister. I’m really not in the mood—nor will I ever be—to entertain your pity parties." Pulling on one of Damon’s leather jackets, you smirked. You were a sight to behold—not only would Damon be eager to rip the clothes off you, but half the population would, too.
It was fun stirring the pot, watching Damon bare his teeth at anyone who thought they stood a chance. Jealousy was his kryptonite, and while a part of you hated targeting one of his insecurities, you always reassured him in bed of your devotion, loyalty, and love.
Yes, because at the end of the day, you loved both Salvatore brothers. This wasn't just some passing fantasy, nor was it some revenge scheme against your sister (though you did love tormenting her with the fact that you were dating the two). You were willing to throw away your human life to become a vampire—to spend eternity by their side.
"Why are you doing this to me? What have I ever done to cause this!" Now there was the Elena you knew all too well—the one who constantly placed themselves as the victim, putting blame unto you because who could ever hate a girl who lost her parents?
You let out a humorless laugh, crossing your arms over your chest. “You really want to go there?” you snap, not bothering to hide the derision in your voice. “Fine. For starters, you’ve always made Jeremy and me feel like shit, and the few times you did act like a decent human being were just so you didn’t look like a total bitch.”
“That’s not true!” she protests, anger tightening her features.
“It is, Elena,” you spit back. “When our parents died, you didn’t do a damn thing to help us cope. You were so wrapped up in your own grief, your own fucking melodrama, that you never once checked on Jeremy or me—unless, of course, it was to nag us about how we were coping. When Jeremy started doing drugs, you freaked the fuck out. Not because you cared, but because you were afraid of how it might make you look. God forbid anyone sees that the 'perfect' Elena Gilbert can’t keep her family together or help her brother kick his drug habit.”
She flinches, but you weren't done. Oh, no. You were just beginning to go down the list of why you hated her ass. "Then, when I began to hook up with Damon, you acted like I was the cause of our parents death—no, that's on you because Elena couldn't help herself and got drunk, needing a ride home at midnight. Sleeping with Damon was like I'd personally betray you."
Her cheeks flush crimson. “Well, you did! You—”
“I did what, Elena?” You take a step forward, towering over her. “I moved on? Found something that might actually make me happy? Meanwhile, you’ve been stringing both Damon and Stefan along for God knows how long. You made your choice—you dumped Damon, tried getting back with Stefan, when he told you to fuck off, you tried going back to Damon and he said the same thing. So now you’re standing here, arms crossed, lip trembling, trying to put the blame on me because you lost your backup plan.”
Her lips press into a thin line, eyes brimming with tears. But you’ve seen this act before—she’ll blink prettily, glance away like a wounded animal, and wait for you to console her. Only this time, you won't.
“You are an asshole,” she hisses, eyes narrowed into slits. “He was mine first.”
That makes you laugh, a harsh sound echoing off the hallway walls. “Right...possessive much? People aren’t property, Elena. He’s not a damn handbag you lend out when it suits you. If Damon wants to be with me, that’s his call. And if I want to keep him, that’s mine.”
She trembles, either from anger or heartbreak—you can’t tell, and frankly, you don’t care. “Why would you do this?” she asks again, her voice cracking. “What have I ever done—”
You rolled your eyes so hard you got a slight headache. "Did you even listen to me? I have every reason to hate you, so does Jeremy and the rest of Mystic Falls. Those who continue to stand by you are either stupid or hope they'll get some attention from your desperate ass. I'm done. I’m done letting you guilt-trip me. I’m done tiptoeing around your precious feelings. I’m fucking over it, Elena.”
Just then, Damon appears in the doorway, that trademark smirk on his face. “Ready?” he asks, taking in the tension between you two. His gaze flicks to the tears glistening in her eyes before returning to you. “I’m guessing we’re skipping the family therapy session?”
“Therapy? More like the mandatory guilt trip, which I’ve politely declined.”
Elena’s voice wavers, “Damon, how can you just—”
He cuts her off with a raised hand, posture casual but his eyes dangerously dark. “Stop, Elena. What we had is over. You made that choice before, remember? I’m done letting you waltz in and out of my life whenever it’s convenient for you.” You can practically feel the hatred radiating off her in waves. She’s not used to being shut down, especially not by Damon, the semi-reformed bad boy who once hung on her every word. It must sting. Oh, well. Her loss.
“As much as I loved talking to you, sister, I do believe we're running late. Don't wait up and please, if you're going to continue crying, leave my room. Keep wallowing if you want. Hell, cry yourself a fucking river. Just don’t stain my carpet.” Without another glance at Elena, you brush past Damon, and he steps aside for you to lead. He follows, closing the door behind you both, leaving your sister alone in her silence.
You descend the porch steps and greet the night air with a sigh of relief, reveling in the silence that isn’t tainted by Elena’s incessant whining. Damon slips an arm around your shoulders, guiding you toward his car parked beneath a streetlamp. His touch is warm, confident—like he’s proud of the chaos you’ve left behind.
“She’ll get over it,” he says, glancing at you with one of those trademark smirks that used to make Elena weak at the knees. Now, it just fuels your own sense of dark satisfaction.
“She’d better,” you mutter. “I’m not putting up with her drama anymore. If she wants to play the victim, she can do it alone. I’ve got better things to do.”
Damon’s grin widens. “That’s the spirit. So, where are we headed, anyway? We never actually nailed down the specifics.”
You shrug, placing an arm around his waist and snuggling closer to his side. “Anywhere but here. Got a craving for something stiff—drink or otherwise.” The innuendo doesn’t slip past him. His eyes flash with interest, and you can’t deny that thrill you get from watching Damon Salvatore light up over you instead of your sister.
“Sounds like the Grill for starters,” he suggests with a casual tilt of his head. “They might have a halfway decent bourbon I can drown myself in. As for the ‘otherwise,’ well…” He lets the sentence hang, the possibility of later events sparking arousal for the both of you.
You’re about to respond when you spot Stefan leaning against Damon's Camaro. Typical. Even without super-hearing, you know he’s probably caught every word you exchanged with Elena. Damned vampires. "What are you doing here?" Damon was the first who spoke, hand tightening over your body. As if he was a child preventing his favorite toy to be taken away from him.
"Nothing, really. I was just walking around the neighborhood and saw your car parked. But now that I see you're here with my boyfriend, I guess I have time to join you two at the grill."
"Our boyfriend."
You simply laugh at Stefan’s innocent tone, shaking your head at the absurdity of it all. Just a few minutes ago, you were telling off Elena and storming out of the house. Now you’re pinned between two vampires—both of whom are technically yours, and you are theirs. Welcome to the wonderful, fucked-up world of Mystic Falls.
“‘Our’ boyfriend,” you echo, looking from Stefan to Damon. “Are you two seriously going to argue semantics right now? Pick a damn fight over who saw me first?” A scoff escapes you as you shrug off Damon’s possessive grip just enough to stand on your own. You’re not some chew toy they get to tug-of-war over.
Stefan cocks a brow, his expression cool but laced with a hint of smugness. “I’m not here to fight,” he says, his gaze flicking to Damon. “Just wanted to make sure I wasn’t excluded. Last time I checked, this was a joint arrangement.”
Damon’s jaw clenches. Clearly, he remembers crashing your date with Stefan last week—and how you’d had to smooth over the tension in ways that involved very little clothing and a lot of apologizing on his part. “We’re not excluding you, Saint Stefan. But we do have plans that don’t involve your pensive brooding.”
Stefan straightens, crossing his arms over his chest. “Oh, so your plan is to get drunk at the Grill and then…whatever else…” He waves a hand dismissively, “doesn’t appeal to me?” He tilts his head in mock curiosity. “You sure about that?”
You snort. “Children, please. If you both really wanted to rip each other’s heads off, you’d have done it ages ago. Let’s just go. All this talk is making my head hurt.”
Damon lets out a dramatic sigh, rolling his eyes. “Fine. But if Stefan starts preaching about morality or—God forbid—Elena, I’m leaving him to pay the tab.”
Stefan’s smirk grows. “I’d pick a better conversation starter than Elena, trust me.”
You give an unimpressed half-smile. “Don’t even mention her name. As far as I’m concerned, she doesn’t exist unless she’s blocking my path to a stiff drink.”
That shuts both of them up. They exchange a quick glance—some silent vampire communication or whatever—then Damon jerks his head toward the passenger door. “Shotgun’s yours,” he says to you, ever the gentleman when it comes to seating. To Stefan, he adds begrudgingly, “Guess you can squeeze into the back...or the trunk.”
Stefan’s lip twitches like he’s fighting off a retort, but he says nothing. Instead, he silently moves to the rear door. You can’t help but grin. It’s absurd that they both share you yet still bicker like five-year-olds over the smallest shit. But hey, maybe that’s part of the charm.
Once inside Damon’s Camaro, you sink into the leather seat, adjusting your legs as you feel Stefan’s presence behind you. The tension is thick—crackling with desire, frustration, and that constant competition. You kind of love it. Damon revs the engine, and the car peels away from the curb.
“Any chance we can make this a quick pit stop at the Grill?” you say, your gaze shifting between them. “I need something to eat, maybe a drink or two, but I’m not really in the mood to fraternize with the entire damn town.”
Damon flicks you a sidelong glance. “Someone’s impatient. Looking to skip straight to dessert, sweetheart?”
A grin tugs at your lips. “I’d just rather not get cornered by whichever idiot wants the latest gossip on Elena’s meltdown.”
Stefan leans forward, resting his forearms on the front seats. “We can be in and out in under thirty minutes. Grab some wings, maybe a bourbon—or three—and leave.” He lowers his voice suggestively. “After that, I wouldn’t mind some privacy.”
Damon makes a sound of reluctant agreement. “Deal. But don’t whine when you realize your tolerance is way lower than mine, Brother.”
Stefan just smirks. “Don’t worry about me, Damon. Worry about yourself.”
The quick banter settles into a charged silence as the lights of Mystic Falls blur by. The neon sign of the Grill soon comes into view, and Damon maneuvers into a parking spot with practiced ease.
“Let’s get this over with,” you mutter, pushing the car door open. “I’m not about to waste my entire night entertaining half-drunk townspeople.”
Stepping onto the sidewalk, you can already see a few familiar faces through the window—Caroline, Matt, maybe Tyler. You can’t be bothered to care. The only drama you want tonight is the kind that ends in moans, not tears. And if Elena hasn’t slithered over here yet, you might just get your way.
Damon slides an arm around your waist possessively again, and Stefan eyes the gesture with an annoyance that’s as old as time. You sigh inwardly. No matter how many times you remind them you belong to both, they still can’t help but try to stake their separate claims. Vampire pride, maybe.
As you head inside, the ambient chatter and smell of bar food envelop you. A few heads turn—this is Mystic Falls, after all, and you’re making a very public entrance with both Salvatores. Let them stare. Let them talk.
“Your usual table?” Damon asks, raising an eyebrow.
“Yes,” you say. “Let’s just grab a seat and order. I’m fucking starving.”
The three of you slip into a booth. Damon slides in beside you, Stefan on the opposite side. A cute server looks mildly flustered as she hands out menus. You can see her eyes flick between Damon and Stefan, likely recalling the messy history each has with Elena. If she notices you’re with them in a more intimate sense, she doesn’t comment. Probably for the best.
“So,” Damon says, flipping open the menu, “bourbon and wings? Or do we want to start with something stronger?”
Stefan doesn’t bother with the menu. “I’ll have what you’re having,” he says with a forced casualness, drumming his fingers on the table. He’s clearly aware eyes are on you three. You can practically feel the tension rolling off him—like he’s waiting for the next potential disaster.
You roll your eyes at the both of them. “Bourbon’s fine. Then if someone pisses me off, we can move on to whiskey shots until I forget this entire night.”
Damon flashes that trademark smirk. “You, pissed off? Shocking.”
Stefan snorts, finally cracking a faint smile. “I’m sure we’ll manage to avoid any drama.”
A short, barking laugh leaves you. “In this town? With the three of us in the same damn booth? Doubtful.”
But you push aside the building dread. Because at least you’re here on your terms, Elena’s sob story is miles away, and you have both Salvatores at your side—bickering, sure, but ultimately yours. And that realization, twisted as it might be, makes a satisfied grin curl your lips. With a raised brow, you signal the server for your order. Let the vultures talk, let Elena sulk. You’ve got bigger, better things to do tonight—and two vampires to do them with.
“Bring on the bourbon,” you say, leaning back. “I’ve got all fucking night.”
