"at least haylijah was a healthy relationship-" booo 🍅🍅
Klayley had blind devotion unconditional love resentment that's born out of intense unfulfilled love drama banter understanding
What does haylijah have outside of judging each other for not being perfect and sex

when daniel said elijah has NEVER really given a fuck about any of his siblings other than klaus and they could all die/leave and he wouldn't give a fuck and he's always felt that was his character. like well... no. absolutely not. 😭 but that's your brain on The Originals (2013)!

Just saw an angst edit of Elijah and Hope and so many of the comments were people saying Elijah loved Hope first… this is just false to me 😭 Elijah wanted the idea/concept of Hope and the way she could affect his brother. Elijah wanted Klaus, not Hope. Him projecting this shit onto Hope before she was even born and trying to act like she’s the next coming of Christ was not him loving her. It’s not a good reason to have a child.
I’m not saying it doesn’t make sense it’s dysfunctional— of course it makes sense. The Mikaelsons being a fucked up family is fun (and annoying sometimes, but also can be fun to watch). Vampires that old having a baby was always going to be fucked up like that. But I wouldn’t call that specifically an example of Elijah loving Hope first. He protected her life and tried to champion for this concept he had in his head but that had nothing to do with Hope.
When it came down to it, he failed her because he is selfish and his obsessions actually did not translate to love in the end. In fact, with his memory wiped and them out of the way, he had no compassion at all. That’s why he let Hayley die

The fact that Katherine had to justify to Elijah why she killed his brother’s murderer is appalling.

Unpopular opinion (maybe)
Finn and Kol having this profound insight of always and forever promise just because the others didn't want them to die (and they died anyway) didn't have the impact as the writers thought it did. Kol literally complained that it was Klaus’s vow that haunted him, so he was not included in all of that, and Finn definitely wasn’t
The first time they died, the only one who really shed a tear or at least looked distraught for a couple of hours was Rebekah. Elijah didn't give a damn and Klaus was already over it because he was focused on ruining Forwood/Tyler once more. We only had Rebekah call the MFG out about killing her brothers because they were being annoying and acting as if Rebekah didn’t have all the reason in the world to loath them. Realistically, the whole gang (aside from Bonnie I’d say) should have been dead and done by either Klaus, Elijah, or Rebekah, and Kol (depending if he was still alive), but the plot armor was strong. The minute Finn was killed, Klaus should have made Damon an example for Stefan to show that he meant it (cool what if), but then the show would be over I guess. This was a bit of a tangent and I’m sidetracking.
But, yes, we see that Klaus, Elijah, and Rebekah were closest of the three, yet they expected Finn and Kol to just prance along with all their whims. For what? A promise that, in the end, didn't include the WHOLE family and was just a line they used to make them feel guilty so that Klelijah's dynamic could progress, but mostly Klaus's happiness could be satisfied because of Elijah's guilt. Also, the vow was only made between K/E/R after they burried Esther. It was said Finn and Kol fled in TVD but then in TO we see the five of them running together with Elijah supposedly holding them together and refusing to have them split from each other.
I really, really wished we had more about the Mikaelsons when they were human and how their personalities played out once they were vampires and were heightened.

I genuinely don’t understand how you can stan Klelijah as anything other than villains
There are so many reasons that I cannot stand these overgrown children so I have made a list :
They were only good villains when they were secondary characters who only appeared in half of the season’s episodes for a few minutes. As soon as they had to lead the plot, I found them insufferable.
They both used trauma that lots of other characters, many of whom were much younger than Klaus and Elijah, endured and managed as an excuse to murder/hurt anyone that looked at them the wrong way AND people support them for it.
They were both absolutely horrible to the rest of their family, especially for people who claimed that family is everything. They were particularly awful to Rebekah who was mocked, disregarded, controlled and abused by these men. Both of the brothers did this but Klaus was clearly the main perpetrator, with his creepy, borderline incestuous behaviour towards Rebekah and her love life.
They both tried to take advantage of a 17 year old girl, who had already been the victim of an abusive father and having her baby stripped away from her, by manipulating her into believing that they loved her so that they could drain her of blood and then had the audacity to be angry at her running away from a certain death.
They ended up in Heaven when they should have burned in the depths of hell, instead of Katherine.
Despite their many, many flaws, they are still fan favourite characters who people, including those on the actual show, will defend to the grave for no reason apart from their looks.

in s2 to gain josephine's alliance elijah pulls out all the stops, setting up a formal meeting, dressing up nicely, showing her respect, having gia play the violin for her because he knows that she has a passion for music... meanwhile with vincent, elijah just automatically expects his help despite the mikaelsons never having done anything for vincent and vin never having even met hope at that point/having no reason to care about the family, and then strangles vincent when he doesn't just immediately comply and help in something that isn't his problem/he doesn't want to get involved... like is it racism or is elijah just a hypocrite

“borderline racist”
When did anyone in the vampire diaries or originals do anything racist??? Characters btw, not actors.
First season of TO: Klaus mocking Marcel’s whip wounds, them all staying in the plantation Marcel was raised in, Elijah constantly calling him boy, Kol’s aggressive behavior towards him
Not to mention the treatment of Bonnie, the fact that Katherine and the Salvatore’s had enslaved people, and that Damon was a confederate soldier.

It's disgusting how (TO) Elijah stans act like he's such a kind and great brother, and that he sacrificed so much for all of them. It's like yall forget he repeatedly helped Klaus dagger their siblings, prefered Finn and even Kol dead, even Rebekah did fare that well but at least better than them. He's the reason Klaus was able to do all of the horrible things he did. To their own family. You claim he's loyal, where was his loyalty to them. Everyone would have inevitably been happier if Klaus and Elijah hadn't been there.
This obviously does not include TVD version of Elijah (season 2-3), he was an angel who actually did love and care for all his family above all.
