To properly answer this: I am actually actively drawing them! It's just I took a step back and decided to give them an active story. And I am just very bad at writing an actual story (And doing comics, I really really don't know how to format a comic)

#WE HERE IN K L O T H S T U R #the witcher books #[ Nobody liked that. ]#i like how the first two 'main' translations (like published for mass market circulation ones i mean)#were like 'no we can't call it a strzyga... no no...'#(maybe like: 'the english readers won't understand...')#and then when the game and book hit (i.e. both beginning with geralt fighting the striga)#everyone was like 'whoa that striga was really cool'#idk idk enough about it yet to say anything definitively #but my experience and all the other reviews and experiences i've read #from other anglophone readers with no prior exposure to polish or broader slavic myth or culture #has been just like: 'whoa i never knew about that... that's really unique and cool'#and on the flip side. originally witcher gained popularity in part because of the familiarity of the fairy tale #and so despite that witcher in general takes a lot of everything from across europe #if i may just summarize it really obtusely and without taking the precaution of nuance and all #although the first two translations were very much intended to feature polish writers and writing #in the way of the actual translation it feels like they tried to diminish its 'polishness' for the english reader #like for example in chosen by fate itself there are no diacritics (though idk maybe that was a lack of capability of the printing press)#it FEELS like that i'm not saying it was intentional but #for example when you don't say 'leshies' and instead say 'bugbears' that feels like diminishing it #but then later when the witcher's quote-unquote 'polishness' is allowed to come through clearer #then it actually is part of why english audiences were like whoa this is interesting i like it :)#you know real-life events are stories too. and i feel like this is a story with a good moral: 'be yourself'#this is also one of the prime subjects where i disagree with sapkowski lol #because re: 'death of the author' theory type stuff. authors cannot control how their works are interpreted by their audiences #works get interpreted on their own fortunately or unfortunately #so though i think it would be misled to engage with the witcher as if its ONLY good quality is its 'polishness'#i think that also it should be acknowledged how its unique take on culture made it appealing to both domestic and foreign audiences #i think where the problem lies is when we believe it can't be both polish and a blend of multiple cultures and traditions #because like yeah. author is an arthurian weeb

1) Being insane about Symphony. I'm deeply, deeply unwell over it.

2) Very short fics (if you'd even call them that) and imagines that sometimes occur multiple times a day but more often are very spread out

3) A fair amount of dark (?) content, including non con/dub con, somno, yandere behavior, and anything and everything angsty (mind the warnings, tread carefully)

#i slipped in the mudddddd the other day LOL i twisted my one ankle and scraped up my other knee #so the past few days ive just been kind of needing to waddle around.....#LUCKILY its healing well and fast <3 but yknow i was like #so stressed out over shit that doesnt matter in school. and like this is an awful unintentional habit i have but i will get like #overly stressed over shit and then i'll start getting SUPER careless with everything. and then i'll injure myself foolishly and Calm Down #happened last year with my foolish midnight woodcarving incident LOL its always november....#BUT yeah luckily this years foolish injury is a quick one at least!!#but yeah like genuinely i was so stressed out about all my fine arts major shit. teachers have been really getting on my case recently #my main professor said that it was a good thing people get so riled up with my work because it means its impactful #tbh i didnt believe her at all i thought she was just trying to placate me but then i listened closely to the things faculty say when #they look at my fucking. cartoon wolf drawing or something and i think. she might be right actually. people keep getting frustrated with me #because i think they see a lot of potential in me but i basically only have to drive to draw cartoon wolves etc HFKJSDHJVKRFEds #which is great for my ego. maybe too good for my ego. that my mark making and colour use etc is so evocative to these industry and #instutition people. but on the other hand i was told like thrice now that my work has no place in a gallery. which is fine although im not #totally sure how true that is. but also afterwards one time i was suggested to go into animation instead which is. um.#so its not out of nowhere i mean i did want to be an animator when i was like 10 but if you know anything about the current state of the #animation industry its like genuinely wild to tell someone who you've only seen 2 dimensional watercolour and acrylic painted #sketchy lined drawings from and who has said they cant do digital art anymore that they should get an animation degree?#brother they would kill me. i would be killed. i had an inkling but it really made me notice so clearly how limited the experiences my #faculty kind of have with certain industries. which is fine. or maybe not. for a professor LOL but yknow. but i was like huh. i guess i can #just kind of chill lol if i just keep doing things maybe something will come of it. i may not get as much help in my artistic development #rn as i would like. but its chill i think i'll figure it out if i just keep doing stuff <3 #doesnt really matter that my teachers dont know what to do with me. my kneeeee has a booboo so i am CHILLING out :)

Just finished my first playthrough of BG3. Romanced Lae'zel, but ending up turning into an Illithid because the idea of making Orpheus or Karlach do it didn't sit well with me (or my character).

I told Lae'zel to leave with Orpheus in the end (I heard she wouldn't stay with a ghaik anyway, which she's valid for, but also, it doesn't feel right to ask her to stay when I know how much her people mean to her). And like-

Sometimes I just look at Isabeau and just know that if isat came out and I got into it when I was like 16 he would be my favorite character and I would've gone absolutely buck wild over this man and feel like he was laser targeting me. But alas Odile has a grip of steel on me rn due to her virtue of being a middle aged woman

#rat rambles #stars posting #I feel like the biggest change in my taste in characters as the years have gone by is Im now far more biased towards old ppl lol #although tbf I was also the one person in 2016 who actually liked asgore so maybe Ive always liked parhetic old ppl #but yeah the reason isa is past me bait is because hes an exploration and subversion of the sort of tropes I Hated as a kid #and I still dont like them so isa still appeals to me its just not as much as he would have to a younger me #I do genuinely love all the party very dearly tho theyre all soooo good #I think my favorite part of isabeau is how like. of everyone we get to see the least facets of him but like in a very good way #this is a man who hides and bottles shit hes so fun to rotate #his self image is so carefully controlled compared to everyone else which makes him an incredibly interesting character to analyze #and I love that despite him seeming like the most emotionally stable person here on the surface he still clearly has like. hashtag issues.#like he's in that beautiful zone where its so so fun imagining what it would look like to truly break him #<- normal things that normal ppl say. like me.#I may have my very light beef with alt looping aus as a concept but hes probably the most interesting alternate looper to me #also my light beef exclusively relates to king quest stuff which is why Im a big fan of duo looper aus with sif #but honestly. isa might be the only one that I genuinely think works better as a solo looper even with taking king quest into account #although bonnie comes close. I <3 looper bonnie I <3 seeing fictional children go through the horrors #I think theres a lot of fun to be had with any alt looper au tho I just am a huge king quest fan so I like it when my favorite elements of #it dont have to be handwaved #but yeah the real question is how would younger me feel about mirabelle #because on the one hand: acearo character #but on the other hand: I have always been a little hater abt romance so idk if younger me would rly be able to follow her character well #I wasnt exactly good at character analysis back then lol #except for the instances in which I was but I dont have that sort of faith in my younger self #yknow Im thinking abt my history of favorite characters now and I think me being one of few 2016 alphys enjoyers might have been a prophecy #she was my quote unquote third favorite but in reality she was second #I think she chara and peridot su teamed up to define my taste in fictional characters for the next several years #and somehow that lead to olivia becoming one of my favorite fictional characters of all time #I say somehow as if that isnt a very natural conclusion

As you may or may not already know, I've been slowly chipping away at a Celebrimbor joins the Fellowship AU for a while now, and I finally have the general plot hashed-out and the first chapters written, which means it's technically at a point where I can start posting it...but. it is a very slow sort of story to write. (There are a lot of Plot Things to juggle.) So updates will not come fast! However, I also feel like I've been sitting on it forever already...

So I ask: should I start posting this thing, with the understanding that it will be an incredibly show updater? Or should I wait?

agents of shield s7 really was a shockingly good conclusion to something I like… like on it’s own it’s a good season but I don’t really realize how highly I think of it overall (it’s not agents of shield s4 who’s praises I’ll sing any day of the week) until I think about how many concluding seasons or books of shows or series I love could have been better if they were more like it in a variety of ways…

#s speaks #currently inspired by me venting about my wishes for a raven king where Blue’s mirror powers were treated more like May’s empath powers #(which is funny since apparently Maggie’s og draft gave Blue literal empath powers although mirror is still in that vain to an extent)#and her having feelings and anger and resentment once LMD Coulson comes into the picture but she doesn’t see him as her Coulson #but also the way he can be a neutral space for her while she’s navigating the powers is comforting #I would have Lurved an arc like that for Blue/Bluesey #and the questioning if he’s real or not thread for Coulson himself and everyone around him and their relationships #which is helped by the existence of s6 which wasn’t the best aos season (although even though it had messy parts I liked how focused on May #it was and that Ming got to shine a lot. I could have done with less fs and far less Deke but that’s-)#but if that season didn’t exist at all s7 wouldn’t have landed because we needed to see those chars Without Coulson. If they had just #skipped to Daisy slamming the button and that’s that then he’s off on his road trip and that’s that—#but outside of trcbrainrot magicians could have used that season as a model so could legacies so could a lot of different genre things w #unsatisfying endings #sometimes I will have to do a list of my favorite conclusions to things since there’s definitely less that I wholly am a fan of and more I’#so so on or dislike.#in terms of tv shows would say community agents of shield and person of interest are the main ones that really hold up to me and are great #endings to shows I cared about #for books: CP2 TKM and others I can’t think of rn

To preface this I don't like AI, I think the ways in which AI is currently being used is the worst way we could be using AI, HOWEVER, I think the ways in which we discuss what makes AI art "bad" aren't like productive I guess. I don't really know how to explain it but the way in which people are defining what makes art human and what makes it "good" or "bad" are more detrimental to artists than anything ? And like idk it feels kinda discouraging at times and like it falls into old discourse surrounding art and things like referencing.

#it may just be because im autistic and have aphantasia so the way i go about creating art is a little different #but some of the ways people discuss whats “bad” about ai art fall into the territory of when people start claiming that things like #referencing and “tracing” and using others creations as inspiration #are all wrong and stealing and even a moral issue #when its really not #and really what makes someone human and what makes someones art human #like yes ai art is bad #but the way in which people have been discussing why it is bad isnt the best way to go about it i guess #sorry for leaving all these thoughts in the tags #ramblings #ai #art #ntm how a lot of those old conversations have kind of lead to people not pursuing art #the need to be seen as 100% individual and as creative and different as possible #although these days a lot of that discouragment probably comes from internet bullying

#Sora having comparatively less art than some of the other side characters is so interesting to me because #at LEAST half of the 1bit fans I've spoken to has him as one of their top favs #if not their absolute top fave #Wait that's besides the point though #I love him a lot. baby boy. Deserves the world #He's distant and jaded but also because he struggles with self confidence and Is lonely and Does care actually #He would struggle a lot getting himself out there(not used to it and and still not entirely willing to be open about his feelings)#but I think he does desire the connection enough to at least attempt(although he may need a bit of a push)#and that his friendship with Nanashi is a good first step towards being able to do that as well as realizing that he isn't good for nothing #Guys with self esteem issues support group #Since he mentions that he's scared of the sunlight I wonder if he'd have to ween himself into it by only going out during the #afternoon at first.
