I got some great craft grade mink jaws from @thegreenwolf a while back and started replacing the missing teeth with bits of glow in the dark resin left over from my other projects, and they look pretty cool! These will become jewelry and other things later but I wanted to share at this stage. The fun part is they almost pass for real teeth in normal light if you're not looking super closely, but look awesome in low light or darkness

my system has had to help a very loud.. very aggressive alter.. well, calm down. he’s still very loud, but he just enjoys screaming!! he’s learned to be less mean to headmates/herself/others!! i honestly think it would be interesting if instead of them.. like.. eradicating the “evil voice”(????) they just!! yaknow!! talk!!!! communication between headmates is very important!! it’s how we make sure things run smoothly and get someone out of front if they can’t handle it!!! moonpaw and voice friendship..

Daring to hope that maybe we can see something like this play out. It would be fresh and interesting for this arc to feature a lot of self-reflection and communication-- in fact, I feel like that was missing from the last one. A lack of Sunbeam or Nightheart actually introspecting about their issues, neither identifying nor truly working through them, just progressing as characters when the plot needed them to.

I'm loving the story of Moonie that's being "woven" by systems coming into the inbox. Most pwDID seem to agree that conflict between Headpaw/Starpaw and Moonpaw isn't the problematic part, it's the "villainization" of the voice. The "vibe" is the desire to see Headpaw/Starpaw being treated as a person within the narrative, not just as a malicious "entity."

Even without this being about representation (tho that is still important), isn't that just... refreshing?

Aren't we tired of Evil Spirit influencing the cats to do bad stuff, while Good Spirit influences them to do good stuff? Do we really need another Ashfur so soon? Wouldn't it be nice if there was some narrative, textual nuance to the situation for once?

Kaz: *enters room* Okay everyone, announcement from Hellgate this morning

Wylan: That my father is a Korean toilet ghost? Boooring, we already knew that

Kaz; Jan Van Eck is dead

Wylan: Say what now?

Inej; Van Eck is dead? Truely?

Kaz: The warden confirmed it this morning

Jesper: Wy-

Wylan: Ha! Thats not true, like what my father said when he saw deodorant - Im not buying it

Nina: *Cackles*

Kaz: I assure you the intel is good. He’s dead

Wylan: Oh Kaz, zombies cant die. This is some sort of scam, if he were dead we would be hearing the sound of children singing in the streets

Matthias: Is this how the Kerch grieve?

Nina: *Shakes head*

Kaz: Why would Van Eck fake his own death? Solidifying your inheritance of everything

Wylan: Same reason he visits Ravka once a year to suck the blood from all the goats - for kicks

Kaz: I dont know what to tell you, but hes dead. What do you want? To open up his coffin and check for yourself?

didnt have anything to watch so i clicked on a video of a breath of wild concert

and with the second track an immense feeling of sadness washed over me, i miss botw so much, it used to be my comfort game and i spent alot of hours thinking about its mysteries and the strange feeling the world gave me, it was the only game i ever felt like the world was alive somehow, mostly in its environment really, there wasnt a huge epic tune blasting off your ears at all times, just a bit of subtle ambiance and not even that always, the way it just kind of seemed to exist was so special to me

and totk broke that. i know i spent many posts ranting about how much i think that game fumbles everything, but this is certainly a reason why i hate it so much on a personal level too

the world doesnt feel alive to me anymore, it feels fake and meaningless, i know now none of the things i thought meant soemthing, implied something or hid something actually .. meant anything- they are either just as static as in botw, were erased or hijacked for something that clearly never belonged there

its lost its magic. no amount of pretending totk didnt exist will reignite that .. maybe its silly to feel that strongly about these games, maybe its influenced by botw being released when my mental health was around its worst its ever been, but i was still able to feel that magic even after it got better, and now its not there anymore

i miss botw.

Dear @netflix,

Maybe... just hear me out... instead of canceling great shows that we actually enjoy watching (Shadow and Bone, The Order, Sense8, Santa Clarita Diet, Daybreak, Spinning Out, AJ and the Queen, Altered Carbon, Jupiter's Legacy, Cowboy Bepop, Raising Dion, The Imperfects - to name a FEW)

...just stop churning shows that get bad ratings (The Goop Lab, stuff like Devil in Ohio, Hype House and Too Hot to Handle and The I-Land especially.)

Just stop trading well-written and produced shows for boring and overworked bullshit.

Six of Crows Playlists 🐦‍⬛

I made some Six of Crows playlists, forgive me for the sheer amount of songs, I listen to a downright obnoxious amount of music. I was also legally obligated to include some very 2016-2018 "edgy" music that was typically associated with these books back in my fandom days. The middle school nostalgia aspect really got me.

General book playlist, some of it is songs that fit all of the characters as well as book events, some of it is songs that fit the atmosphere of the setting.

My Jesper and Wylan playlist. I'd be down to make playlists for other specific relationships, they just happen to be my favorite. If that's something you're actually interested in, let me know, because I do have some ideas!

Possibly a collection of all my favorite love songs. They meant so much to me when I was 13, I have such a soft spot.

I'm most embarrassed by this one. It has a lot of the nostalgia element that was mentioned above. It was difficult to find songs that contend with the persona Kaz has so carefully cultivated. Forgive me for the possibly shallow reading of his character that it may convey.

There's lots to work with in regard to Inej. Her past as an acrobat, her future as a pirate, all on top of her character throughout the duology. I had fun.

Possibly one of the most conflicting and chaotic playlists on this list. Creating it really had me pondering Nina's writing. She's a lot more complex/multi-faceted than I'd ever given her credit for, haha!

I struggled the most with Matthias' playlist, I'm actually surprised it's as long as it is. I didn't connect with him as much as the others, especially during my first reading of the duology, but I've definitely gained some respect for his character and what Bardugo was trying to convey when writing him. Normally I'm drawn to characters whose experience parallels mine as a "cult survivor", but there's a lot of notable distance between our experiences.

Similarly to the Kaz playlist, I hope the "just vibes" theme of this playlist doesn't come across as a shallow understanding of Jesper's character. It's the longest playlist, he's my absolute favorite and it shows. I have a lot of respect for him!

A contender for the discordic energy of Nina's playlist. I intentionally leaned into this aspect. Wylan holds a special place in my heart, he helped me come to terms with a lot of things. I fear some of the self projection is clearly evident.

A couple of extra notes:

Expect a follow-up post soon. I very much need a Kuwei playlist, as well as a Kanej/Helnik/Ninej playlist. Perhaps one highlighting the friendship between Jesper and Inej as well, who knows.

If you're uncomfortable with songs with sexual or suggestive lyrics being applied to them, I totally understand and respect that. Those songs were included either because I found that aspect of them ignorable, because I think it matches their "energy" or is the style of music they might enjoy, or quite rarely because I'm specifically keeping the Shadow and Bone continuity in mind.

Example: ...Baby One More Time is a fairly suggestive song. But I'll stand by the fact that Jesper Fahey would listen to 90s pop artists over my dead body.

Cad Bane was normally a great pilot, normally. His ship got in to many a scrape and it was just fine when he repairs it. But unfortunately he was crash landing towards a planet that he did not recognize and he can’t stop it. He doesn’t panic rather he was very angry and yelling at Todo when they hit the surface of the planet.

It was bad.. well not too bad, his ship was damaged but not destroyed which was good piloting on his part. But Cad Bane himself was injured badly as he crawled out of the remains of his ship to the outside. He could still move his legs which he was thankful for that. But his whole body hurt and he couldn’t keep his eyes open as he passed out, having no idea whether the person who finds him had good intentions or not.

Todo had found help, but it was from a most unlikely source. A lady in old time clothes in dull colors of black, gray, and white. She wore a veil so her face was a bit obscured. She was accompanied by two large constructs made of bone from various dead creatures. They carried the duros back to the palace at the command of their creator, the Bone Queen.

While he was still out, she tended to his injuries carefully. He had beautiful Sapphire skin that made her think briefly of brighter days, better days. She was quiet, careful to not wake him.

Todo had stayed by him the whole time...
