my system has had to help a very loud.. very aggressive alter.. well, calm down. he’s still very loud, but he just enjoys screaming!! he’s learned to be less mean to headmates/herself/others!! i honestly think it would be interesting if instead of them.. like.. eradicating the “evil voice”(????) they just!! yaknow!! talk!!!! communication between headmates is very important!! it’s how we make sure things run smoothly and get someone out of front if they can’t handle it!!! moonpaw and voice friendship..

Daring to hope that maybe we can see something like this play out. It would be fresh and interesting for this arc to feature a lot of self-reflection and communication-- in fact, I feel like that was missing from the last one. A lack of Sunbeam or Nightheart actually introspecting about their issues, neither identifying nor truly working through them, just progressing as characters when the plot needed them to.

I'm loving the story of Moonie that's being "woven" by systems coming into the inbox. Most pwDID seem to agree that conflict between Headpaw/Starpaw and Moonpaw isn't the problematic part, it's the "villainization" of the voice. The "vibe" is the desire to see Headpaw/Starpaw being treated as a person within the narrative, not just as a malicious "entity."

Even without this being about representation (tho that is still important), isn't that just... refreshing?

Aren't we tired of Evil Spirit influencing the cats to do bad stuff, while Good Spirit influences them to do good stuff? Do we really need another Ashfur so soon? Wouldn't it be nice if there was some narrative, textual nuance to the situation for once?

Gnashing my teeth while thinking about all the things that could have been done with Gladio- all the things I could possibly write- Gladio worrying over not being able to keep up with Noctis, worrying over his own health (because permanent damage to himself makes him less fit to be a shield), trying to balance his devotion to Noctis with his devotion to what a king should be, Gladio being a guard dog of a man, Gladio understanding Prompto’s chronic anxiety over expendability, Gladio also being a strategist- just one who deals in quick thinking and fighting on the back foot where Ignis gets time and information and plans and contingency plans, Gladio feeling the looming dread of failure at succeeding at the things you built your whole life and self image and self worth around (because you were always able to be Noctis’s shield. Why are you so damn weak all of a sudden?)

But most of that is at best only minimally present in the text and a lot of it isn’t actually there at all and honing in on it will make me feel like he’s being ooc even though in my mind, these are all reasonable extrapolations of ‘we were not friends until recently And Also I’m your shield And Also you are fighting gods- I can’t save you from that. Let me save you from that’

(Yes I am still screaming about Gladio. Yes I will continue screaming about Gladio until I fully pick him apart and put him back together or until I stop fixating on this damn game again)

I'm a Crowf fan bc I like the way one (1) person wrote him in their TNP rewrite and good lird some of the people defending him in your inbox are. interesting. I like seeing the ways you dissect and rearrange canon as needed, even when it's just to make it more consistent lol

Yo can I just like, do an aside to mention how WEIRD it is that when I talk about canon's abuse dynamics, I get people who crawl out of the woodwork to dismiss me as a [abusive guy im talking about] Hater? When my work is pretty NOTORIOUSLY empathetic of nearly all characters?

Even ones I do come out and say, point blank, that I hate? Like Clear Sky?

The one guy I decided to slaughter vindictively was Tom the Wifebeater and that was to establish a death by One Eye as like, the worst possible thing that can happen to a cat.

Weird. It's like there's a subset of ppl who take any kind of critique of a character as a personal attack and have to deploy a thought-terminating cliche so they don't have to consider it. Or something.

Anyway YOU I'm feeding specifically. BB!Crowfeather ruined his chance to be on good terms with his family but it doesn't mean he has to suffer forever. Not everyone will change, but some people will. Forgiveness is not a requirement for growth.
