but anyways Cas didn't really.... plan it out or initially know that he wanted to fatten him up or anything. It started off with him just seeing Gortash as someone that... while not eating much at the time (mostly due to being too invested in his work), still would indulge in the way where he enjoyed a lot of shitty/rich foods and definitely didn't hold back at any noble feasts since, well.. not like he has been in a comfortable-ish spot in life until now. So he just found him interesting tbh, this guy that was all serious and the way he is still being excitable by a sweet treat or taking an invitation just because he could eat on some noble's cost. Cas did see it as a weakness at the time too. I said this a few times but Cas does not have a healthy relationship to food or his body image which heavily influences this. So.... basically he just pushed him a bit in the direction at first, yknow making him indulge more and making sure wherever they did business in public has something available to see how far Gortash is willing to let himself go even if it affected his body. heavy on this factor too since Cas would never allow that for himself but Gortash seemingly just didn't give any fucks

anyways nd then that just evolved into a bigger and bigger thing, Cas being a bit more forceful at first because he told himself its a control thing and it only turned him on to watch Gortash let himeslf lose control like that, in a petty way. But in the end he realized he liked it, liked watching Gortash let him take control over his body and liked feeding him in a more "caring" way rather than it just being about degradation and having some sort of superiority. pretty sure I also talked about how it got to the the whoel feeding part directly in my old nsft blogs lore tag too!

ok guys i finished the poppy war wtf. i feel so hollow right now. i feel so... unsatisfied by the ending but not necessary in a bad way??? i have to read the other books and see what happens but at the same time it feels so hopeless and i dont approve of rin as a main character anymore (tho i am aware that it doesnt matter whether i "approve" of her or not) but i will still definitely read the other books bc i loved the book overall. i just think that the storyline rn is very... surreal?

i NEED TO KNOW what the fuck happened to nezha bc i just know that rf kuang has smtg cooking for him. my personal theory is that he didnt die from the gas bc he secretly is connected to the god of healing (hence why his spine healed so fast and enki speculated abt his dragon insigna) and so hes alive and maybe imprisoned? maybe he was sent to a science lab to, or he somehow ran away, or he pretended to join forces?? idrk but im sure that hes alive and its got to do with his dragon insignia

im so sad that everybody from sineguard died/isnt in the story anymore (other than kitayyyyyy thank god. im so glad he reappeared) bc i tbh dont feel much of an attachment toward the cike members 😭 like idk i love Qara and Chaghan but the others are eh to me, like i would trade their presence for Irjah's or Raban or Niang or EVEN JUN 😭 tho im just being sentimental, i dont actually mean it. (tho i would like to see a jun reappearance and redemption...)

my criticisms are as such:

- the middle part where they kept losing was very dreary (tho i imagine kuang was trying to make it seem desperate/devastating and tense, it was just droll to read tbh).

- the sudden reconciliation between nezha and rin felt very unnatural (like i understand the feeling of "who cares abt our petty rivalry when theres literally a whole ass war happening?" but then again, this is just fiction and it wouldve been nice to read their familiar banter- or at least have it dragged out a bit before the reconciliation). i feel like it was just very unnatural, unless.... unless nezha fell in love with Rin when she erupted into flames at sineguard???? if THAT happened then i feel like the reconciliation would make alot more sense bc when nezha came to khurdalain it was like he was desperate to make Rin like him/forgive him ???

- a few things were pretty predictable. it was pretty obvious that Jiang was the gatekeeper, which was disappointing because if that was a little less obvious, i feel like the scene were Rin and Altam discover Jiang in the Stone Mountain would've had a bigger emotional impact on the reader (me)

though here are the things i liked:

- Rin at the first half of the book was the best mc everrrr

- Kitay. i have nothing wrong with Kitay. he's my favourite for sure

- Jiang's style of teaching (i loved how they just conversed and would come to nonsensical philosphical questions that made Rin frustrated but made Jiang delighted. eg "Why do people dream what they dream?")

- the way Kuang described the god realm vs the human realm. it was all very believable and assured. it wasn't vague at all, in my opinion. theres ofc alot of questions abt the different planes still, but the genius of it is that she wrote about it in a way that assured that it was normal to have questions, and even more normal to not get answers for them, and that we should just accept it (idk, thats the vibe i was getting. like, she didnt say "just believe it" as an excuse for lazy writing, she said "just believe it" because, well, just believe it.)

So since you've read the Japanese and English version (and are deeper in the trenches than I am) what's your take on how losing ears work. I know with Ritisuka's teacher she still has them cus she's a virgin but later it says its a matter of innocence so while it's possible it was a euphemism I wanna know if I'm trying to assign different reasons for something that isn't there. (Though tbh if innocence is an alternative feel like Ritsuka deffo should have lost his).

but i do think it’s a strictly sexual thing. i think it’s a commentary on tying sexuality to adulthood and making value judgements on people based on their participation in cisheteronormative standards of sex and sexuality, as well as an exploration of how sexual abuse can be extremely obvious and people just won’t give a shit. i heard someone say something like “i think yun kouga put it in to prove there’s no sex going on between soubi and ritsuka” which i thought was….. interesting and probably not true but. lol. i thought it was worth mentioning.

i’m really not sure if the ears serve any other function besides flagging someone’s virginity. i do think it’s notable that the female zeroes are the ones that lose their names and thus have to forge their identities for themselves when there’s the (stupid) controversy of “is lesbian sex real sex”, so i think that that part is settled at the very least.

i heard from someone (i think tumblr user ritsukaaoyagi? idr) that yun once said that they come out like baby teeth which makes the tooth chapter like. 500 times weirder lmao but i don’t have like a specific source on that

i also think the conflation of virginity and innocence is interesting, as loveless notoriously does not play in absolutes and likes to let the grey morality of its characters simmer. seimei, notably, still has his ears despite being pretty directly responsible for a horrible sex crime. like nisei fucking sucks but the idea that he would be doing any of this shit without seimei is kind of laughable to me. he was like. a petty bully due to self esteem issues. seimei definitely made him worse, though to what end we still don’t really know. i think the innocence comment was a euphemism, loveless doesn’t really like saying “sex” despite its content revolving around it heavily. it took until mikado for the word “rape” to actually be said on screen, despite the like. literally everything about loveless. also i don’t actually remember the specific part you’re talking about haha but yeah

and you're not asking for a lot!! i've actually been talking a lot about this au with a few of my moots lately so i've been itching to share about it so honestly go crazy with asking about it!!! since i haven't gotten as many asks about this au i guess i'll make this ask kind of long and just kind of dump some of the stuff from my notes into it? and i have a tiny snippet i can share too!

so i'll just go on a long ass tangent below lol

okay, so first thing about this au, the one thing i really want to emphasize (without spoiling) is the whole thing about this au is that their breakup reason is important, but also that nobody in particular is at fault. sometimes life just happens, and things happen, and sometimes you just need to take a step back and re-evaluate yourself, your goals, and what you really want! it's about coming back together and choosing that person in the end because you realize not being with them is worse than whatever drove y'all apart!

tbh a lot of this au is partially inspired by my own breakup & how the experience of me getting over it! i was in my early 20s for the first time being single after being in a relationship since i was a teenager and i was like woah wtf idk how to be single/without a partner. so that's a big focus of that! learning how to find yourself and realign your goals and all that!

but we can get into the characters now!

eren:

definitely is a bit more obvious about missing mikasa, but tries to act like he doesnt (he has her highlight still up lol, not doing a good job at it)

mostly just works a lot while they're not together

after they breakup, mikasa moves out of their apartment, so he's stuck seeing all their stuff all the time

the first time they see each other its messy, they get into a big fight lol, they aren't allowed to hang out together lol

but he realizes pretty fast that he regrets the breakup, but he sees that mikasa seems to be doing okay, so he wouldn't wanna intrude on that

he gets armin in the breakup basically (mostly bc he sees armin more, but armin still talks to mikasa, just not as much as he does to eren obvi)

he picks up some of mikasa's hobbies bc he misses her so much lol he's down horrendous

at the very least does miss mikasa at least as a friend

after their breakup, because she's kind of trying to spite eren, she starts going out a lot to cope—her "hot girl era" essentially lol

she definitely starts prioritizing herself a lot more, and spends more time with her friends and figuring out what she wants outside of eren

but she definitely misses eren, she's just better at hiding it lol

she partially thinks he just doesn't want anything to do with her anymore (a lot of this is just them being fucking idiots lol), and she basically doesn't try to stalk him or see what he's up to bc she doesn't wanna know out of her own peace of mind

she has very bad flight anxiety so when they fly to italy, she lowkey kind of hopes that eren doesn't change his flight (he does bc he has to do something not even to be petty), and she has a very terrible flight experience and all she wishes is that eren were there

Gabi, one of the college freshmen who worked at the gallery, had a tendency to say whatever was on her mind, never bothering to filter herself. Even if Mikasa had grown rather close to her since she started working at the gallery in August, sometimes she wished Gabi would just shut up.

Mikasa scoffed, confused as to what even prompted her to say that. “What are you talking about, Gabi? And don’t cuss so loud, especially where guests can hear you.”

“Your eyes, they’re all red. Not to mention how bad your bags are,” she said, pointing to her eyes. “Seems like someone was a victim of Sunday Funday.”

Mikasa lifted a finger to touch her eye—still puffy, but from tears, rather than drinking.

“Gabi, you’re not supposed to say stuff like that—it’s rude,” Falco chimed in.

“Hey, it’s not my fault she can’t handle her alcohol,” she shrugged, turning back toward Mikasa. “It’s okay, Mikasa, the prettiest girls are always the biggest lightweights. But anyway, are you feeling okay? Does our favorite party girl need some Tylenol? A Liquid IV, maybe? Even a Gatorade?”

Was she supposed to answer honestly? Tell them that she had spent the entirety of her night crying because she and her boyfriend had broken up. That she was sure that the cops almost got called by their neighbors from how loud they were yelling at one another? That Sasha couldn’t even understand her when she called, telling her she needed somewhere to stay because she stormed out of their apartment, not even giving Eren the chance to finish his sentence, somewhere after one of them had uttered the words, “We shouldn’t be together anymore?”

She had been doing so well, pushing the thoughts to the back of her head, trying to get through the entirety of her shift without thinking about everything—about him. She only had an hour left in her shift, but all of her efforts had been to no avail.

It was as if the wind had been knocked out of her, she suddenly lost the ability to breathe, and she felt all the blood drain from her face.

We aren’t together. We aren’t together. We aren’t together. The words playing in her mind on loop.

“Hey, Mikasa. Are you okay?” Falco asked, his eyes flooding with concern as he looked over Mikasa’s current state.

“I think I’m gonna be sick,” she said quickly, before running off to the bathroom.

But maybe just this once, Mikasa was lucky for Gabi’s inability to shut her mouth—at least being hungover was a good enough cover for sobbing her eyes out in the bathroom.

I really liked Verosika in the new episode tbh. I don't know about others' opinions but I liked that we got to know a little more about why she's so bitter towards Blitz, and a little more information around their break up. Seeing her be a little more soft was also really nice. Like, it's clear she still kind of cares about Blitz, and, while yes the "I Hate Blitz" party is very petty in its own right, the idea that it's more of a support group thing is really nice. (And I don't really believe all those people were people Blitz screwed, somebody pointed out that some portion of them were probably friends/loved ones there as support for the people Blitz DID fuck over).

So I really like that we got a bit of a softer side to Verosika. (Plus she looked great pff the new style is so good)

Generally, I think the episode itself was pretty good. I really liked seeing Stolas and Verosika interact. I don't really think they'll talk much in the future, but I think they could have a neat friendship if they did. And the SONG? THE STOLAS/VEROSIKA/TEX TRIO? AMAZING!

Speaking of Stolas, I love that he attended the party and got out a little, even if it was a party dedicated to hating Blitz. His whole schpeel to Blitz. "I want to know what it's like to not be alone." "I want to feel wanted, but in a romantic way...." "I want someone to care" "I want someone to want me." is so sad. This man spent so much time in a loveless marriage, that he's finally getting free from, and honestly I think that's wounderful. And I'm glad he isn't immediately forgiving Blitz, and that he ended up actually having a good time with that Incubus guy, even if that itself doesn't amount to much.

As for Blitz himself, I don't know if he was really self aware the entire time, or if hearing Stolas sing about his feelings awoken some kind of guilt in him, but either way seeing the realization on his face during Stolas' song and get mad at himself, was great. It kind of felt like he really needed to hear how bad Stolas felt. Also I liked his whole conversation with Verosika.

Generally consensus: I liked the episode a lot and I can't wait to see where it goes. And I think they all deserve to be happy, no matter what that means for Blitz and Stolas.

TBH it hasn't been getting a lot of comments or interaction lately, so I wasn't sure if people were still following it or really thinking about it much D: I definitely am going to continue and I have pretty solid plans up through about Chapter 13, but I got caught up in good old Adult Things (got a car part stolen and had to speedrun finding a job, and by some insane miracle I landed a good one???) and had to sorta get my life together for a while. I was also pretty bummed and discouraged that the Elimetri fandom kinda fizzed out after S5, and the hype that was there after S3 and S4 seems few and far between these days </3 And when someone DOES show up and get hyped about my boys, it always seems like they get bored after like 2 weeks and vanish into the ether again D: I feel like an immortal roaming the ruins of a once great and thriving civilization akjsalksufhdulrh

BUT ALL THAT TO SAY this is really encouraging <3 <3 Love that people are still invested, and now that my life has stabilized a bit, I may actually get Chapter 7 done ^^; The canon Mexico plotline was the most underwhelming thing I've ever seen in my entire life (and Season 5 as a whole and I just...did not really Vibe for a lot of reasons), and it's frustrating because like!!! Why would you introduce this grand epic quest for Miguel to find his dad and learn about his Dark Past™️ and then have it be over in 5 minutes and reveal nothing interesting whatsoever about Hector!!! Like if the point was to have Johnny prove he could be a good father figure to Miguel after all and to cause conflict between Miguel and Sam, then there were like...ways to do that without yeeting Miguel to another country with no ultimate character development or narrative payoff :/

And they really expect me to believe Miguel and Robby sat in petty stony silence the whole several-hour drive home and didn't even try to talk through ANY of their issues??? Didn't have ANY road trip bonding whatsoever??? WHAT A FUCKING WASTE. LAME.

ANYWAYS. I know a lot of people were against the Mexico subplot from the jump (mainly because of the potential problematic directions the show could go with it I think), but I might have been in the minority in being excited for it and thinking it had a lot of potential to see a world outside the Valley. Potential which it...did not fill at all. Like at least show us what sketch-ass shit Hector actually DOES!!! My god!!! Also not Robby being like "I wanna make things right with Miguel!!!" and then...clearly not doing that. Like considering their apartment brawl later was the first time Robby has shown onscreen remorse for what he did to Miguel, Robby didn't even apologize in the car ride on the way back??? Or speak a single word to Miguel about the whole, like...Paralysis Incident??? For all Miguel knows, Robby was tagging along just for kicks ajhdsukhfuyh

The whole thing is a mess tbh. I blame rushed production for S5. Deadass thank god for the writer's strike??? Maybe with more time for the writers to actually do their jobs, S6 will give its plotlines some room to breathe.

SO YES, long story short, I wanna do this plot thread some justice and also have my OTP be gay as shit the whole time <3 And give Miguel the epically dangerous adventure of self-discovery he deserves while ultimately still showing him he is very loved and does not need his shitty biological dad!!! PREFERRED COMMUNICATION: Discord please ! tumblr IMs are just... I lose track of them very easily, probably because they're not like. right in front of me / always where I can see them. whereas in Discord I can keep track of folks and conversations much easier. in general, I just feel more comfortable discussing via Discord. its also good for roleplay, if folks are okay with that ! but yeah, Discord all the way.

EXPERIENCE: I have been roleplaying since I was... I literally just confirmed, at least 10 years old. I started out on forums. ever heard of Chicken Smoothie ? its a pet adoptable website, and where I really got into roleplay. from there I was introduced to tumblr by a friend, discovered tumblr rp, and... I've been here ever since. that was back in 2012; I was just about to turn 13, and I'm currently just about to turn 25, so. I've been here awhile. been writing and roleplaying for over half my life at this point.

PREFERRED ROLEPLAY TYPE: I'm partial to casual discussion style roleplay, but I also really love just. writing. so. it may take some time to get me in the proper headspace to sit down and write, but its always satisfying to be able to. however, casual discussion style is more accessible, definitely. just easier and quicker. but I will always value writing and reading solid threads, solid interactions. seeing it come together, getting excited about it... its what I love about roleplay, and I wouldn't trade it for anything, even if other things are easier or faster. nothing good comes easy, or so they say, right ? idk. I'm old-fashioned I guess.

PET PEEVES & DEALBREAKERS: oof, lets see. immediate dealbreakers: no trigger or nsfw tags (especially if there is nothing that says there won't be; I can understand some blogs preferring not to tag if its standard content), no rules or about, posting callouts and witch hunting behavior (ESPECIALLY if its just interpersonal or petty grievances, I have ZERO tolerance for this). pet peeves... I'm pretty chill. just treat me with respect, communicate with me like an adult, and we'll be fine.

PLOTS OR MEMES: yes ? but like, logically speaking... memes are more likely to happen with me than plots, cuz I'm slow and struggle with that kind of pressure. so memes are probably the best way, yeah. but low / no pressure casual discussion ? vibing until we figure something out ? sign me the fuck up !

LONG REPLIES OR SHORT REPLIES: another yes. it really depends, I feel like I fall somewhere in the middle. a couple short paragraphs is my default, but I know for some folks thats considered long, and for others still short. so. I'm dynamic. I'll admit that I'm wordy, I like fleshing out interactions with thoughts and actions when I can, so I would say I'm probably more inclined to long style. I know I've started a few short dialogue threads then ended up getting 1+ paragraph responses, so. but I also don't expect my partners to match length ! idc if other people write short replies, so long as I have something to build off of. "yes, and" rules and all that !

BEST TIME TO WRITE: when the world is dark and sleeping. or when the moon aligns with my medication and energy levels. so... mostly at night. I get a lot of stuff done in the dark of night; I don't feel like I'm being perceived by my family so I feel free to move around and do more tbh. less distractions, too.

ARE YOU LIKE YOUR MUSES: yes. not intentionally, but yes. Shade moreso than Kaey, but Kaey and I still have similarities. I think most writers bleed into their work somehow, and I don't think its something to be ashamed of. for me its. I write and create to cope, right ? so having characters I can relate to, that I can see myself in, helps me... feel better about things. like, if Shade and Kaey can do stuff then I can to ! plus, I won't lie, seeing myself in my muses also helps for introspection. I genuinely feel like I've been able to become a better person by acknowledging my similarities and learning from them, whether through interaction or otherwise. and, of course, the reverse is also true: I learn a lot about Kaey and Shade by exploring my own identity and perspective and how I interact with the world and others.

pink (he/she/they) they're a lot more ditzy and lighthearted than purple she just wants to be friends w/ everyone, loves makeup and fashion too though :) definitely looks up to purple a lot as an older sister (by maybe..... five minutes??) their dynamic is kinda like two oldest teenage sisters in the loud house. she's leni. Just living life one day at a time #queen maybe he'll be a makeup artist or something

red (she/her) - aggressive but not mean just really protective!! definitely the most athletic of the siblings and is on like two different sports teams (soccer and basketball ?? maybe). short tempered tho 🙁 its hard to hold down a job bcuz she doesn't put up with people's bullshit, she'd probably do well in politics lmao

orange (he/him) - he was born with an intellectual & physical disability and was very sick as a kid (mostly stayed in the hospital getting heart surgery or whatever) so his family is slightly overprotective of him. they kinda take turns hanging out with him bcuz it isnt really SAFE for him to be alone and bcuz he also doesn't like to be alone (they take turns as in monday is blue's day, tuesday is red's day etc etc and they all do an activity with him and just hang out. their parents obviously did most of the childcare when they were younger and they still have saturday but yknow..... jobs). outside of that he's very funny and adventurous, i think ideally he'd be going cliff diving every weekend but he's mostly just the class clown and he's very good at making his siblings laugh

yellow (he/they) - gay best friend.....?? he's a really sweet and supportive guy and LIVES to hype other people up. super friendly and outgoing. he has a job at like a clothing store in some botique mall. he's so brave bcuz he's like one of the only people in their family who isnt unemployed 🙏 BREADWINNER KING

green (he/him) - introverted and nerdy but he gets confused a lot 😭has like three separate chronic illnesses. reads and sleeps most of the time but he's a sweetie tbh

blue (they/them) - the main character of my Heart <3 (and one of nine actual main characters) not gonna go into their whole character here obvs but they're like the anxious/safe kid and they work at a grocery store. the responsible eldest daughter type vibes despite not being the eldest or a daughter

purple (she/her) - wants to be the most famous influencer in kenya. kinda a diva and obsesses over her appearance. definitely the most popular of the siblings when they were in school in school But she uses her influence for good..... mostly. definitely annoys blue once or twice about using starr for connections, which is not happening in this or any universe <3

they were raised to be very close and protective of each other and their relationship as siblings so they all get along pretty well apart from petty fights like you stole my hairdryer etc whatever. and they all still live together in a Big ass house like theyre fucking cartoon characters. but big families are much more common in objects so its not really that big of a deal, and blue is (mostly) happy to live with them........... the show is fucking phenomenal. Like holy shit. I think it's the best thing I've ever watched. For the past day and a half i haven't been able to function as a human being.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE light's character. I love that he's greyish black. I love that he thinks he's so fucking right. I love that he does a character analysis on me.

When light says "most people would say killing criminals are bad until they go thru a crime" SPOT ON. and obviously he doesn't kill for petty crimes (atleast in the beginning i guess)

I love that he takes challenges head on. I love that he's arrogant. I love that he isn't doubting any decisions he makes, due to some insecurity or wtv.

I LOVE HIM AND L. I SHIP him and L. So fucking much. WHEN L CALLED LIGHT HIS ONLY FRIEND I COMPLETELY DEFLATED. but i love that L probably meant it, but also was testing light's humanity with it. And light didn't pass. AND I LOVE THAT HE DIDNT.

I love that light, still, despite everything, always tried to protect his family from his bullshit. He never wanted to kill sayu, but he would have. I love that he didn't stop respecting his dad. I love that he still didn't want to disappoint his dad during his death. Amazing. FUCKING FABULOUS.

I was sceptical about the yotsuba plot point in the beginning, but my the end i found that also so lovable. Especially because i couldn't fresking predict what light was going to do?!!!?!? I loved it all so much.

I liked near and mello too, but i wished they were introduced earlier in the series, when L was alive. I'd liked it more if L was working remotely with near/mello or something like that. Then atleast the characters wouldn't have come out of nowhere.

Mostly, i would have LOVED IT, if in the end Misa killed Light. HOLY SHIT SORRY IM SO FIRED UP WITH EXCITEMENT, BUT IT WOULD BE FABULOUS IF SHE DID. I wish she was made to be a smarter character tbh. I didn't understand her motivation for loving light as much as she did, to the point of dedicating her whole life to him. She was also a fucking model, those people have it real tough in the industry- so i thought she'd be smart...but i realise I'm wrong about this as I'm typing it. She was smart. Atleast in the beginning. Over time, i guess she was really traumatized by all the kidnapping shit to truly think about Light logically. I think maybe from the start itself she was traumatized Tho. But i think if she would have tried to kill light also, light would have sussed it out. Also i didn't like how it's presumed she k*lls herself in the end.

Also wish matsuda helped more. He seemed useful in the beginning but as time went on and on, he became pretty useless. But him shooting light in the end, i think makes up for that.

Also even, i would have loved if light's dad found out that he was Kira in the end. It would have added more depth to light's character i think.

ONE MORE THING. I love how the moral question of the show is so grey. Like for me its obvious that no one person deserves so much power. But we don't see light do THAT much shit with it. Also it's extremely easy for me to say this opinion, that this is bad. Idk how people who've actually witnessed heinous crimes to their loved ones would react. Idk

IDK!! and it's the best part.

But in the end, Kira becoming a god like figure was always bad. I love that the show establishes him as a bad person from the beginning. But weirdly i rooted for him. Which is extremely odd.

And i LOVE LOVE LOVE how he dies alone. How he goes insane with his justifications. How he calls for people dear to him, just to realise that he's alone. Ahhhhhh

Shinichi/Conan:

- i am a firm believer in glasses shinichi. i know glasses for this character is stupid lore integral but i literally don't care. My basis is that repercussions of being shrunken takes form in the slightest ways, such as weaker immune system plus weaker vision. it was inevitable anyway as well, given his bad screen practices and genes. he wears circular glasses though as shinichi and only wears it at home, and vehemently refuses to be seen outdoors with glasses.

- that post that's like, "i love my men with blood on their hands and traumatized"? i love to hc b.o takedowns where he actually kills gin. shoots him. Fucking murders him and destroys his principles. i need him to actually face a stake in his life and be it this sort of loss??? so much room for growth.

- contrary to how hes portrayed, even if he praises holmes as his god, he genuinely does read other mystery novels. often seen with a pocket mystery novel

- tbh. i think of them as different people but not haibara/shiho as different people Hahahah!! I love the idea of growth in the form edogawa conan. I think in a no antidote route, conan is less serious, still snarky, but more willing to tease. exceptionally casual and confident, but humbled with scars. Understands his limits but also very sweet to his gf

- in a no antidote route, i also hc conan to be more explorative. my conan experiments everything with his two bros mitsuhiko and genta, praises them both, and actually wants to find a seperate hobby that makes him different from the shadow he once was

- in a no antidote route he also dyes his hair a lighter brown to be different

- hes closer to mitsuhiko! in fact he is so proud of mitsuhiko very often, and supports him where he can. they study together. he and genta are both in soccer teams, and they go to practice together and hang out with the team

- also i am in firm belief he can be a romantic if hes not thinking about it. but sometimes he does know what hes doing. and is pretty damn good at it.

- unsurprisingly easily jealous but isn't that petty about it

Shiho/Ai:

I have lesser HCs for haibara bc i actually am fine for the most part with the canon supplement material. i just feel bad for her lol i want to save her from the show's canon...but!

- her self destructive behaviour can sometimes cause a wedge between them. he is very patient with her all things regardless, but they have had a fight about it before—and she knows she needs to do better, in order for their relationship to work. He cant always be the only one apologizing

- despite being the one who seems unfallible she's just very good at hiding when she's embarrassed/affected by shin/con. he gets pretty good at figuring this out a few years into their r.s.

- (SA mention) i definitely think she has some kind of unprocessed SA trauma behind her, but contrary to what people may think, she isnt sex-repulsed or unwilling. they have healthy times for it and both of them explore things at their own pace together. she trusts her partner with herself and has found her own autonomy after everything

- i double as a seraran stan but i think she and ran would actually be good friends too!!!!!! even if she wouldn't be as close to her as shin would ever be, they have lunch together once a month as adults and often talk about their partner's tendency to get sucked into cases and their fangs...

- i strongly hc shiho as demisexual/demiromantic. even supposedly if in any canon of mine she doesn't get w shin (unlikely) she takes time to herself and live freely independently until she finds her own partner. i dont think its some cut off goal of hers to get one anyway, she feels loved as she is and is fine with that

- she has trouble voicing when she's touchstarved. he tends to notice, though, and acts quickly. she avoids the feeling vs him being needy about it

- in a no antidote route she experiments growing her hair out once. it felt foreign, and difficult to maintain her curls, so she cut it the next summer. shin liked it either way though

CoAi/ShinShi :

- ShinShi move in together at age 20-21. he proposes relatively early—only after 3 years of dating—but they dont get married until they are like 26. they just kept putting it off lmao

- penthouse apartment in the city. Its luxurious but shiho constantly jokes about the idea they get bombed. shinichi doesnt like it.

- Shin gets his license immediately after turning 20. Shiho tends to do most of the driving still, but they take turns during road trips with the kids

- If ShinShi revealed their identities to the kids (whether the kids figured them out on their own or not), shinichi puts on his conan glasses for them and shiho puts on a similar, adult sized sleeveless turtleneck whenever they're together. they assume the roles of Conan and Ai with them (even going as far as introducing themselves as such to other people with the kids). It gives them a state of normalcy even if they have a larger age gap, intergenerational friendship alongside some parenting.

- they do get two dogs. shiho allows him to name only one of the dogs and of all names he chooses its freaking watson. the other dog is named vivi. short for vivianite, a mineral that can form on decaying corpses. Watson is a german shepherd while vivi is a pomeranian husky mix

Heartless lore copy pasted from me rambling in a discord server im in (even if you already know Heartless lore, I’ve updated some of it lmao, if you already know Heartless lore then you can skip the first giant block of text)

So. Heartless. Basically, their situation was pretty normal (aka, same as me in real life for the most part) for a while. The only main differences between their world and the one we know are non human creatures exist and they live in harmony (mostly) with humans, and superheroes (and villains) are pretty normalized. They lived as Bramblestar, a fairly normal kid, for a while, except their dad really doesn't like their partner because their partner is a cheetah creature and their dad doesnt like nonhumans much. Eventually, they get so fed up with their crappy family that their anger "unlocks" their shapeshifting powers (They inherited those from their mom but didnt realize). They used those to... burn the house down. With their family inside. Yep. Unfortunately, Nara (their partner) didn't realize that they were the one who burned their house down because they fled the scene, so he assumed that they also died and it was a villain who murdered Bramblestar. So Nara decided to go down her own path for power. Her father was the mayor or something of their town, and he was recently killed as well, but he had a library of books containing powerful secrets. He used one of these books to perform a spell that transformed her, changing his fur color, giving her the ability to stick to walls, and making a holographic crown appear above his head. She ran away from home to track down the villain who killed his partner in an act of revenge and misunderstanding. Because of Bramblestar's shapeshifting powers turning them from a human into a cat, and Nara's transformation and appearance change too, they didn't recognize each other. They had also each taken on different names. Bramblestar started going by Heartless, and Nara named himself Suction for his powers. They both have their own groups (other ocs made by other friends of mine) and they're the classic "Hero x Villain who are rivals but also gay for each other" trope.

So Heartless and Suction, unknown to both of them, each have something possessing them and these ancient gods have decided to use them both as pawns in their own petty rivalry. Suction's takes control when his crown is eventually broken, her eyes going pure red is a pretty good sign of "oh shit, he's evil(?) now". I haven't decided on a name, but the one possessing him is a red lion with a few features that resemble a biblically accurate angel (rings with wings in front of her face and her single eye within those rings). Heartless's is a bit more... "emo" /hj. He's a skeleton cat known as Voidsteppe with purple, firey ears and eyes, and he's somewhat eccentric. Heartless has purple and green eyes normally, but when they turn all purple, that's Voidsteppe's influence. They also have a habit of shapeshifting into a dragon when they want to be something a little bit more powerful, but their dragon form is different when they're in control than when Voidsteppe is.

at some point Heartless and Suction in their canon universe have a conflict and end up realizing that "oh hey, this guy was my partner when I was 'normal'" (and "my partner isnt dead?" in Suction's case) and theyre on better terms for the most part, but theyre still rivals. However now its less of "we're rivals because you killed someone i love and i hate you" and more "we're rivals because of slightly conflicting morals and its kinda funny tbh" (Heartless would never kill an innocent person but believes in fighting against "good" when they have to, while Suction is always on the side of "good"). They're still gay as fuck and kinda sorta dating again behind their teams backs (Except they flirt in battle and everybody knows lmao) And then even later in the future the nameless lion god and Voidsteppe use the two to fight in some epic battle where the sky turns red and purple or something I haven't planned out much of that but i just think its cool

Anyways, Deltarune au time. Heartless is assigned to be Jevil (Jeartless) and Suction is assigned to be Seam (Seamction). The deltarune au exists in a slightly separate universe to the main villainsona one, but Voidsteppe and the other nameless lion goddess still have influence. Especially for Jeartless, Voidsteppe sort of takes Gaster's place as the "weird skeleton driving the secret boss mad" /hj. Jeartless is, so far, the only Bramble (aka self insert) to be aware of the creator (me irl) and the other Brambles (the others who have met multiversally consider the meetings "weird dreams" but Jeartless knows the truth)

you know how this is titled pashupata and the game treats it as pashupata and everyone refers to it as pashupata?

i dont actually think its pashupata.

cause here's the thing: i KNOW that hindu mythology is heavily nerfed in fgo but arjuna never even used pashupata when he was alive. like not in response to ANYTHING. even when ashwatthama killed his unborn grandchild he used the brahmashirsha astra in response-that was still incredibly deadly and powerful, but it was also still LESS powerful than pashupata. this is the personal weapon of shiva and kali that he only managed to get through completing heavy penances-no one else in the mahabharata had it and in other texts iirc only rama and a sage, Vishvamitra, also possessed it.

it was easily leaps and bounds stronger than vasavi shakti, despite what fgo may say, and could literally destroy the universe if used carelessly. id honestly say if we were putting up a comparison to a fgo weapon to it ea would be the closest thing-it was basically unavoidable, unresistable, and destroyed everything in it's path. and he knew this and so didnt use it bc in the context of the wars he fought in it wouldlve been massive overkill, and he was pretty responsible all things considered with the weapons he used

but like, hes ok with letting mages potentially command him to use it against their enemies? this incredibly powerful attack gifted to him by shiva that could obliterate the universe? like ignoring the logisitics of the fact they'd probably need a boatload of mana, and that the earth has protections in place to prevent gil or whoever from going 'lol' and laser beaming it in twain, why would mr 'thanks for the wmd but i will not be using it' suddenly ok the use of it for a bunch of backstabbing self-serving mages who would sacrifice their own children for a chance at upping their magical power?? like 'oh yes zouken, i'll use pashupata to blow up that orphanage for you right away. clearly this is a good use of this holy astra bestowed upon me by the gods :)'

imo he looked at his legend, looked at the fact anyone who looked into him would know about the fact that he'd have that astra, and renamed one of his less potent attacks 'pashupata' so that when he was ordered to use it he could follow their command WHILE also not fucking. using pashupata for incredibly petty and asinine reasons. like do we really think the average mage can tell the difference between the different astras anyway? no. hes gonna do that so when they pop their command seals and yell at him to use pashupata he can be like 'of course master :)' while also not going against his principles as like. person who was given a turbo nuke and was like 'yeah theres no reason to use this against normal people' like COME ON

though tbh i do still think he has access to pashupata as an archer-like when he blew up the 18 demon pillars that. that seems more like something he might actually have used it for.

i know that this theory has no water bc every time he's referred to it there's been nothing to suggest his np wasn't pashupata, its been described and treated in his materials as pashupata, plus parvati ALSO makes note of him having it and it being pashupata. it just bugs me that they shoved it on him as his generic np and also massively undersold it when he has like 4000 other big explody attacks that couldve been slotted in just as well, and when its a legitimately interesting fact that he never used it in his lifetime.
