In Damien's defense, the overreaction sprang from suddenly sensing another hero approaching Chen's place (a space he considered safe). Telepathically finding out the two had a past gave him an excuse to disengage quickly, but also sort of pissed him off lol.

I love imagining Damien trying to banter and tease his opponents to throw them off their game, but a lot of heroes misinterpret it as flirting (that's how it starts with a romanced Lady Argent and she's not the only victim).
