Completely random thought but I recalled the few discussions I've seen regarding the whole Mexico situation with Robby, Johnny, and Miguel, and I agree so much with how Johnny lowkey highkey manipulated Robby just seconds after he was ready to send this boy back to LA alone in a bus 😭😭

But you know what I don't see talked about (Or be complete ignored/misunderstood when it is)? This scene:

A lot of people take it as Robby longingly looking at a relationship he could only wish of having with his dad, and I think that's true, but it's kinda surprising for me how when people have this in mind, it never crosses their minds that he might also be feeling sympathy for Miguel.

He doesn't know a thing of what happened before they found him, I'm sure he only knows he left to go search for his dad, but nobody understands the hard truth that hits you like a truck after being crushingly let down by a parental figure you had so much faith for like Robby does. The show didn't allow enough time for this arc to show how impactful it was for Miguel. He didn't know Hector for his whole life, but he knew the absence of a father he subconsciously has been seeking for since the beginning of the series. His presence has always been there even if he wasn't there ykyk

And after finding it, somebody he could rightfully call his dad instead of feeling like a replacement for someone else's son, it's instantly taken away as soon as his own dad practically threatens him the moment he took out that glock.

Robby knows so damn well what it feels to be abandoned and disappointed after naively thinking your dad was someone you could rely on. He knows exactly how Miguel feels, and it's just such a complicated set of emotions when all of these feelings wre manifested by the very same guy that is giving Miguel the support he needs. It is bs that they didn't dive deeper into this with them. It could have been so good bro, it could have been so interesting.

Controversial but, I don’t think johnny needed to have another kid to complete his responsibility arc.

Its v much framed as a second chance kid, which sucks. and between Robby, Miguel, their relationship, and the dojo, he has enough to work towards. All of the energy they have him put towards the new baby they could’ve had him put towards building a better relationship with robby, fixing his life to take care of the bio kid he already has, setting up a room for robby out of his bachelor pad, etc. they could made him needing robby and miguel to get along be bc he wanted to propose to Carmen, and they would become stepbrothers. Also, even though he’s getting better, we know the mans not the most responsible. The time the subplot takes couldve been put towards developing the fatherly bond he has with two of the main characters and their non conventional family unit instead of forcibly smoothing over all of the difficulties that realistically rise when johnny is bringing his family together with a baby.

AND SHE HAS PROVEN MULTIPLE TIMES THAT SHES A GOOD PARTNER, BUT SHE CANT BE PERFECT ALL THE TIME MY GOD wait this is supposed to be a robby post anyways)

I find it interesting how one of the main criticisms of Yasmine as a character is that she never faced significant narrative comeuppance for her shitty behavior in Season 1. While I'd agree The Wedgie Incident™️ alone isn't enough for everyone to instantly forgive her just because she's been humbled, I also feel that her slowly losing her personality, agency, and own independent narrative to revolve her existence around a guy using her to boost his own image and who has never given a shit about getting to know her as an actual person is probably punishment enough. Pepper in the fact that she will now cement a reputation as "that wedgie bitch who got cheated on and probably turned her ex gay", and it seems she's suffered quite a bit of narrative retribution. Perhaps even a tad disproportionately.

I will, of course, be able to do some deeper analyses after I actually know her ending in Part 3. But no matter what they decide to do with her in the finale (which, according to imdb, is the only episode she's returning for), she still spent several seasons trapped in an unequal relationship revolving entirely around Demetri, and was brushed aside as soon as she no longer scored Demetri any significant Coolness Points™️. Her reputation is bones now, and she'll probably never be able to live this down. The culmination of everything almost makes the humiliation of the wedgie look tame.

Yasmine sucked ass in S1, don't get me wrong! And I don't like that she never apologized for anything and everyone was just okay with her anyways. I definitely think she could have been humbled a bit more and showed more remorse before she was fully accepted back by her friends as "reformed."

That said, though, being turned into a watered-down prop for Demetri's storyline and being ignored and/or actively discarded by him practically every time she's offscreen is just about the darkest and harshest punishment that any character has received for their wrongdoings. Yasmine loses any concrete personality to become an extension of Demetri--and even then, it's not enough to keep her relevant to anyone. As soon as she dumps Demetri, she ceases to have any narrative impact because the story painted her as only mattering via her ties to a male character. It's a far cry from her Season 1 presence, where she was a formidable villain and a story driver in her own right.

And honestly? I don't care what Yasmine's done, I wouldn't wish that kind of misogynistic nightmare on my worst enemy.

“Now all our friends, think I’m a fucking bottom, asshole,” the boy rolled his eyes, swinging for Robby playfully as he swung open the door to his dad’s apartment.

Johnny was out on a date night with Carmen, meaning the two boys had the apartment to themselves, which was definitely a good thing, judging by the glint in Robby’s green eyes.

“Show them differently, then.” Robby’s words caught his boyfriend off guard.

“Huh?”

“Any ideas on how I could possibly prove that, Keene?” Y/N hummed, not putting up too much of a fight as Robby closed the small gap between them eagerly, kissing Y/N with an excited enthusiasm.

“I have a few,” Robby hummed against the other boy’s lips, pushing him gently so the two peeled themselves from the wall and pushed through the door into Robby’s small bedroom, collapsing on the bed almost instantly.

“Care to share?”

Y/N’s hands were cold as they crept under Robby’s t-shirt, pushing the fabric upwards to clear the way for soft, damp kisses to be pressed up the boy’s abdomen. Robby writhed gently, grinning and cocking an eyebrow as he threaded his fingers through his lover’s hair.

“Fuck me, Y/L/N,” Robby laughed, pulling Y/N up to press their lips together although it muffled his words.

Dad! Miguel Diaz x Mom! Reader

Miguel thinks he will be ready for THE baby, right?... WRONG! He was a complete pathetic mess. When reader gave birth to her baby, Miguel couldn’t wait to meet him/her but when he did and tried holding him/her the baby started crying uncontrollably. He tried calming him/her down but couldn’t while you were lying on your hospital bed giggling. He needed you and your help ASAP but obviously, he knew that you needed rest. 

“Babe. Are you okay?” is what you kept asking because it seemed like he would drop the baby in an instant. “If you need my help, I’ll be glad to help.” Reader chuckled. A few minutes later Miguel finally gave up the tough guy act and gave the baby back to reader. The baby quickly calmed down and started to sleep. Reader and Miguel just stared at each other with shock. Miguel stood aside a little disappointed because he thought he was ready. He crossed his arms and sighed.

“Sorry mi amor, I thought I was ready. I am not gonna be a good father, am I?” Once Miguel said that, reader looked like she was about to slap the shit out of him. She looked at Miguel with awe and smiled. “Miguel. Why would you say something so awful? You’re gonna be a gonna be a great father. She/he may be a mama’s girl/boy for now but who’s gonna help me when the baby turns into a teen and then rebel against me? Trust me, he/she is gonna want their dad when that happens.” Miguel smiled and pressed a kiss on reader’s forehead. “C’mon, I doubt he/she would have the right mind to rebel against you. You’re too scary” Miguel teased while reader rolled her eyes. “Whatever, just wait for (baby’s name) to be 15. Then you’ll see what I’m talking about.” Miguel was just in awe at reader, not really caring what reader just said at all. Just focused on reader’s beauty. 

“You’re gonna be a great dad Miguel. (Baby’s name) Diaz sounds so badass too. He/She will be cool just like her/his dad.” Reader smiled. Miguel pecked reader’s lips and creased her cheek. “You’re just as a badass, reader. Well, I’m more badass than you but that’s beside the point.” Miguel said sarcastically while grinning like an idiot. “You’re gonna be a great mom and I really really do love you, reader” Reader couldn’t stop smiling and feeling flustered. “Well, you better love me, Diaz. I had your baby!” Reader exclaimed while eyeing the baby. Miguel gazed at Reader and the baby with admiration.
