Things i want and still want to see in cobra kai

Daniel and Johnny meeting Julie Pierce

2. Julie Pierce in the Sekai Tai kai with her own dojo or at least introducing herself as a former student of Miyagi to Daniel

3. Julie being a bada$$ and putting both Johnny and Daniel in their place

4. Julie and Daniel's wife being besties

5. Julie connecting with the other students of the dojo and other dojos, too

6. Julie helping take Cobra kai down, and her, Daniel, Chozen and Johnny being an iconic bada$$ Group of Karate masters

7. Miguel, Robby, Tory, and Sam having their team up battle scene and both working and fighting together

8. Weapons. I want weapons

I assume this might just be a me problem but I start to forget why I like characters when they stop feeling joy as the show goes on.

In Cobra Kai this applies the most to the core four IMO so I'll talk about them. This is all just from my best recollection.

Tory in season two would get mad when provoked and clearly had some stuff going on but she was sweet and smiley with Miguel and had a very cute friendship with Aisha. She was playful, competitive, and had small things to cope with her situation. (ex. watching the plane at that playground). In season three we see more of how shitty her living situation is and Kreese is getting in her head more, Miguel and Aisha are no longer around. We could've built an interesting friendship with Eli which would've been great for a couple of reasons but whatever. I guess she has no reason to be happy. Season four it's just the brief moments with Robby but it feels so different from who she was in season two. Like they still were both sad in a way, just parallel-y being sad idk I just didn't enjoy it a whole lot. Then season five she's in hell (would've loved a more developed Devon FRIENDSHIP [fun, camaraderie] but it at least doesn't totally lack substance), season six part one we see her being her old self in super short montage moments (doesn't count for much to me), season six part two she's in hell again. I see her being "at peace" or whatever by the end of part three but not really happy with the way this show is written.

I get that these characters would be hardened by their experiences but I miss the joy so much. I feel like there should still be happy moments outside of the "we just beat the enemy" moments.

I was gonna write paragraphs for the other characters to help my point more but this has already been sitting in my drafts for a minute so I’m just posting without rereading. I might do the other three later.

SPOILERS FOR COBRA KAI SEASON SIX BELOW.

Well, there you have it, Robby won a fight, he beat Miguel and he became Captain. This was a small victory to appease Robby fans, as if we didn't already know that he's the better fighter. It all just feels lacking. And it is now clear, more than ever, that he won't be winning the Sekai Tekai, and the writers of CK will be handing it over to Miguel, as usual. Robby's character won't get the justice it deserves, Robby won't get the win he deserves. And Tory turning to Kreese, her "leaving" Robby proves he'll lose. Because if Kenny is Robby's weakness, then Tory is certainly his strength, his win against Miguel made that clear. During his fight, when he saw her, he gained on Miguel. Now, during the SK, my boy's got to lead his team to victory, fight against the best there is while his girl fights on the team against him. Tory and Robby not sticking together, not winning together, him not being able to be there for her in her grief, not being able respond to her violence with softness, him not being able to hold her down, her not being on "his side", her not being his strength, will cost him in the tournament. Why can't my babies be happy?

cobra kai rant incoming!!

i deleted one of my posts a few hours ago bc honestly, i feel like im spreading too much negativity related to cobra kai. and im tired of my cobra kai posts always being criticism when i love the show.

for the most part, part 2 is really good. that last episode is prob the best episode of cobra kai out there. that brawl and how it ended was such a plot twist and it made the school fight look like child’s play.

my prediction about devon supporting tory right away was true, but i wasn’t expecting the rest of the miyagi dos to understand right away so im happy about that. ALSO LOVED TO SEE KENNY! AND EVERYTHING HE DID!! tho i do admit i wish the binary bros apologized for how they treated him at first.

keenry, my babies, pls end up together in the end.

the sekai taikai was so enjoyable, the barcelona feels were so enjoyable, terry silver being back was so enjoyable (we all saw that coming lol) and lowkey thinking he used to crush on kreese.

im not a huge fan of miguel, but i hated him for a long time and its kinda tiring. he’s not that bad, the writers just don’t allow him to take accountability for his actions.

team miyagi do was so wholesome, particularly in episode 9, and i love how they hyped up robby as captain in the end.

rlly enjoyed kim x chozen, hoping they end up together in the end.

KWON DYING WAS SUCH A GOOD PLOT TWIST NOBODY SAW THAT COMING EVEN KREESE AND SILVER SHOWED SOME EMOTION!! THEIR BULLSHIT CAUSED A KID TO DIE!! COBRA KAI DIED BUT NOT IN THE WAY WE WOULDA THOUGHT!!
